This Cockatoo Has a Daily Coffee Shop Routine and It's Adorable

Sat, 04/25/2026 - 8:55am

Some regulars order the same drink every morning.

Some claim the same table.

And then there's Sir Bentley, a Cockatoo who appears to have built himself a full coffee shop lifestyle and sees no reason to be modest about it.

@sir.bentley5

Love his morning time at the coffee shop and talking to the people! #cockatoo #birds #pets #animals #parrot

♬ original sound - Sir Bentley

In the video, Sir Bentley is perched on the back of his human’s chair at the coffee shop, like he personally owns 30% of the place and is there to check on operations. He's not sitting quietly, either. He has a lot to say. The caption on the video reads, “Love his morning time at the coffee shop and talking to the people!” and honestly, that's exactly the energy. This is not a bird tagging along for a quick outing. This is a social creature in his preferred environment, doing what he clearly believes is important public-facing work.

And it's ridiculously cute.

He doesn't look out of place. He looks like one of those hyper-local neighborhood icons everyone knows by name. The kind of regular who makes the coffee shop feel more like itself. He's perched there, chatting away, looking involved, and somehow making the whole place feel warmer just by being in it.

It has novelty, sure, but it also has rhythm. There is something so charming about an animal having a routine. Not just existing in a home, but having places, people, and habits that make up a little version of a social life. Sir Bentley isn't just adorable. He's booked and busy.

One comment says, “Cockatoos are essentially little kids lying about speaking a second language, and doubling down by doing ts.” Which is painfully funny and also kind of perfect. That really is the vibe. Sir Bentley sounds like he fully expects everyone to understand exactly what he's saying, and if they don't, that feels like a them problem.

Cockatoos are already naturally expressive, but putting one in a coffee shop where there are people to observe, greet, and possibly critique just makes the whole thing better. You can almost imagine him having favorites. Favorite barista. Favorite table. Favorite reaction from strangers when he starts talking.

And honestly, good for him.

This is the kind of content that does well because it feels delightful without trying too hard. A bird. A coffee shop. A daily routine. A lot of opinions. That's a strong formula.

Sir Bentley is not just visiting.

He is part of the morning scene.

Routines and Social Enrichment Matter for Cockatoos

Sir Bentley’s coffee shop habit is adorable, but it also highlights something important about Cockatoos: These Parrots are highly social, intelligent birds that often thrive on interaction, novelty, and routine. VCA Hospitals notes that Cockatoos need substantial mental stimulation and social contact, which is part of why regular, enriching experiences can matter so much for their well-being.

A good reminder here is that enrichment doesn't always have to mean complicated toys or constant activity. Sometimes it's a familiar outing, people to observe, sounds to react to, and a little daily ritual that gives a bird something to engage with.

Sir Bentley looks like he has strong opinions about oat milk and no intention of keeping them to himself. And we love that for him.

Giant Maine Coon Cats Take a Stroller Ride and Show off Their Giant 'Murder Mittens'

Sat, 04/25/2026 - 8:20am

One of these Maine Coon cats is sitting in a stroller like a normal, extremely large cat. The other one is stretched all the way forward with her front paws fully extended into the air, like she’s testing the wind or summoning something.

It’s not subtle. It’s not casual. It’s a full stretch that feels weirdly intentional, like she knows exactly how big those paws are and would like everyone else to notice, too.

@a.cat.named.fig

She’s the King of the world and no one can tell her other wise 😆 #mainecoon #adventurecat #funnycat

♬ original sound - Argo

TikToker @a.cat.named.fig shared the clip of two Tabby Maine Coon cats out for a stroll, and within seconds, all attention went to the one in front. She leans forward, stretches her massive paws out into the open air, and just… holds them there.

The caption says, “She’s the king of the world, and no one can tell her otherwise,” which honestly feels less like a joke and more like a factual statement.

Related: Apricot and Gray Maine Coon Kittens Form the Sweetest Reverse-Colored Cuddle Puddle

There’s something about the way she stretches that makes it feel dramatic in a very quiet way. Like she’s not performing, she’s just existing at a level the rest of us are not fully equipped to understand. My cat Meatball once stretched his paws across my laptop and somehow hit three keys at once, and I’m still not over it.

People in the comments immediately locked onto the same thing.

“Beautiful floof paws,” one person wrote.

“OMG, look at the size of those paws,” another added.

“Wow, she has huge murder mittens,” someone else said.

“Aww, she’s stretching, how cute,” another commented.

“She loves to feel the wind in her paws,” one person pointed out, which honestly feels correct.

And that’s really the whole moment. No chaos, no big reaction, just one very large cat fully extending her paws as if the air belongs to her.

Why Do Maine Coon Cats Have Such Big Paws? @robert_sijka

Have you ever seen huge paws like this? #mainecoon #cats #polydactyl #felisgallery #catsoftiktok

♬ Thing of Beauty - Danger Twins

Maine Coons are one of the largest domesticated cat breeds, and their paws are built to match their size and history.

Originally developed in colder climates, their large, wide paws help them move more easily across snow, almost like natural snowshoes. The extra surface area distributes their weight, making it easier to walk on softer ground without sinking.

Their paws are also covered in tufts of fur, which provide additional insulation and protection from the cold. Combined with their strong build and long bodies, those oversized paws are part of what gives Maine Coons their distinctive, almost wild appearance.

Despite the nickname “murder mittens,” those big paws are usually attached to incredibly gentle, affectionate cats, who are much more interested in attention than causing any actual chaos.

Although… the dramatic stroller stretch does suggest she knows exactly how powerful they are.

This Savannah Cat Decided She's the Dog Walker Now—and Her Shiba Inu Is Living for It

Sat, 04/25/2026 - 7:48am

At first, it looks like a normal walk. The leash is there. The movement is there. Everything feels familiar until you notice who's holding it.

A Savannah cat.

In a video posted to Reddit's r/aww, you see a cat with the leash in her teeth. She's not playing with it. She's not dragging it across the floor by accident. She's walking the dog slowly and deliberately from room to room.

Our Savannah cat takes our new Shiba on walks around the house!
by u/clabont in aww

And the Shiba Inu at the other end of the leash? Well, they're totally happy and going along with it.

One viewer wrote in the comments, "Total power move. The Shiba is shown its place."

Setting the Scene

The cat takes the leash in her mouth and pulls it tight. The Shiba stops.

Then, the cat starts moving. She guides the puppy from one room to the next, unhurried, like this is something she does. The Shiba follows with that expression Shibas are famous for: somewhere between confused and deeply unimpressed.

Related: Gigantic, Snuggly Silver Savannah Cat Is an Absolute Unit

Near the end of the video, the cat loosens her grip. The leash goes slack. The Shiba sees the opening and starts to walk away.

The cat goes after her.

She picks the leash back up, pulls it taut again and the Shiba stops. The walk resumes. No drama, no fuss. Just the cat reclaiming something she wasn't finished with yet.

She Already Knew the House Rules

Savannah cats are part domestic cat, part African serval. They tend to run larger than most cats, and they pay close attention to what's going on around them. This one had clearly watched enough leash walks to know what the thing in her mouth was supposed to do.

The Shiba Inu is a breed that doesn't exactly take direction well. They're known to be independent, stubborn and famously difficult to train. She met a cat who had other plans.

"Phenomenal group dynamics," someone wrote in the comments, and it's hard to argue with that.

Nothing About It Was Aggressive

The Shiba wasn't distressed. The cat wasn't threatened. There was no hissing, no growling, no moment where anyone needed to intervene.

It was just a cat walking a dog through a house because she decided that was happening today.

In homes with multiple pets, the animal that sets the tone is usually the most confident one, not the biggest. The Shiba is learning that (and of course the cat already knew it).

Based on the video, the arrangement seems to be working just fine for both of them.

Stray Cat Sweetly Chooses Their Forever Home and It's the Sweetest Story

Sat, 04/25/2026 - 7:10am

Stray dogs and cats have to fend for themselves for their daily needs. Food and shelter are often in short supply, but sometimes the kindness of strangers helps these animals survive. In some cases, these fur babies even find their forever families.

This black cat was getting daily feedings from a home and started feeling so comfortable there that he invited himself in to stay.

@zoewitholi

A surprise 🐱🥹 #catsoftiktok #fypシ #kitten #explorepage✨ #fyp

♬ original sound - zoewitholi 🐱

The TikTok from @zoewitholi featured the black kitty relaxing quite comfortably on a bed with his head nestled against a pillow. The furry feline looked like he owned the place and was enjoying his daily lie-down in his house rather than a cat who made the most of an open door.

"Accidentally left my front door open and came back to see the stray cat I feed every day sleeping on my bed," the onscreen text explained.

The sweet cat was in no hurry to get up or cut his chill time short. He was completely at peace and obviously felt safe and welcome. Followers immediately noted that the cat was there to stay.

"I don't know why you’re calling this kitty a stray? It’s obviously your baby," someone pointed out.

"He’s yours now — sorry, I don’t make the rules," one remarked.

"Your stray is now a stay," a follower posted.

"He picked you — black cats are the best," another commented.

How Stray Cats Bond With People

Stray cats form attachments with people when certain factors are present, such as:

  • Early Experiences: A stray kitten who is socialized at a young age is more likely to bond with humans than an adult stray cat.
  • Consistency: Daily feeding or providing other needs like shelter from extreme weather, blankets, toys, etc., creates a routine that stray cats come to trust.
  • Positive Interactions: Gentle petting and attention can attract a stray cat who has a social personality.

Related: Kindhearted Black Cat Gives Golden Retriever the Sweetest 'Morning Kisses'

Signs of a stray cat developing an attachment to a human include frequent visits, soft purring or meowing, getting physically close like rubbing up against you or sleeping nearby, and having a calm demeanor in your presence.

It's hard to tell who picked who first, but it's clear that this black cat is no longer a stray.

Golden Retriever Looks Like a Happy Seal— and It’s Too Cute for Words

Sat, 04/25/2026 - 6:55am

Every once in a while, a dog strikes a pose so perfect and unintentionally hilarious that the internet can’t help but take notice. This time, the spotlight is on a golden retriever who has mastered the art of the “sploot”—and, somehow, transformed into what can only be described as a very happy seal.

The adorable image comes from a post shared in Reddit’s r/goldenretrievers, where one pet parent captured their pup stretched out on the floor in a way that makes her look like a big marine mammal.

🐶SIGN UP to get “pawsitivity” delivered right to your inbox with inspiring & entertaining stories about our furry & feathered friends🐾🐾

A Perfectly Timed “Seal” Moment

The magic of this moment really comes down to the positioning.

The pup is stretched out on the floor with her front legs angled outward, creating a shape that resembles flippers. From there, her body gently rounds upward through the middle, forming that smooth, curved silhouette you’d expect from a lounging seal. To top it off, the camera angle hides one of her back legs, which adds to the illusion.

With her chin resting low and a relaxed, happy expression on her face, the resemblance is uncanny.

Related: Little Black Pug Looks Just Like a Seal and It's Too Cute for Words

The Internet Can’t Get Enough

As you’d expect, Reddit users immediately loved the seal comparison and ran with it.

“Sploot move activated!!!” one person wrote in the comments section, referencing the classic dog pose where their legs stretch out behind them.

“Ahh yes the infamous hairy floor seal! I know it well,” another joked.

Others chimed in with fun facts, too: “Dogs and seals are relatively closely related and have a common ancestor from approximately 50 mil years ago.” Maybe that helps explain the resemblance in this picture?

Of course, no viral pet post is complete without a little concern from the comments section. One user suggested the pup looked overweight, but the dog's human quickly clarified: “I appreciate the concern, but she is only 59 lbs. It’s all camera angles!”

Why Dogs Do the “Sploot”

As funny as it looks, this position—often called a “sploot”—is completely normal for many dogs.

Dogs will sploot to stretch their hips and legs, cool down on a flat surface or simply get comfortable. It’s especially common in relaxed, happy dogs who feel safe enough to fully sprawl out without a care in the world.

At the end of the day, whether you see a golden retriever or a “hairy floor seal,” one thing is clear: this pup is perfectly content. It’s a moment that captures the simple joy of a dog being completely at ease. And if that just so happens to make her look like a seal? Even better.

5 Beagles Rescued From Medical Testing Facility and What Happens Next Is Beautiful

Fri, 04/24/2026 - 11:02pm

Five Beagles are getting a second chance at life after being rescued from an animal testing facility. The dogs are now experiencing their newfound freedom before meeting their foster families, who may ultimately become their forever homes. Their rescue is also shining a light on the reality facing dogs used in testing facilities, the majority of which are Beagles.

A viral TikTok video showing the Beagles enjoying their first moments of freedom highlights the plight of rescue dogs. Beagles make up 96% of dogs used in research testing, making stories like this especially powerful for animal lovers.

In the video shared by Global News, the newly rescued Beagles can be seen taking their first steps outside. The dogs move cautiously, exploring their surroundings and gently sniffing their caretaker’s hands during their release day.

♬ Don't Stop Me Now - With Long-Lost Guitars - Queen

The pups don’t realize they’re about to head to their new foster homes, where rescuers hope they will eventually find permanent families. Rescuers described the release as “an exciting day,” noting that the dogs are not only meeting humans in a new way but also interacting with one another for the first time.

Approximately 40,000 to 70,000 dogs are used in laboratory experiments in the United States each year, with Beagles making up the majority. Researchers often choose Beagles because of their small size and docile nature, which makes them easier to handle.

Beagles are commonly used in toxicology, pharmaceutical research, and medical testing.

Emotional viewers quickly responded to the video. One commenter wrote, “As a Beagle owner this makes my heart explode. I want to rescue them all.”

“Their little faces,” added another, “They’re just so terrified.”

The five Beagles featured in this video are among the lucky ones, but not all animals used in research are as fortunate. Nonprofit organizations, including rescue groups like the Beagle Freedom Project, play a critical role in giving these dogs a second chance.

Multiple U.S. states have also passed legislation to protect dogs used in testing. The Beagle Freedom Bill requires laboratories to offer animals for adoption or fostering after research concludes, rather than euthanizing them. The law has now been passed in 17 states.

Dog lovers who want to help can consider fostering. Providing a home for a dog rescued from a research facility can be life-changing. Many organizations require an application, background check, and home evaluation. While these dogs may need extra patience as they adjust to life outside a lab, the reward is a transformation that impacts both the dog and the person who welcomes them home.

Cat Waiting Her Turn To Sit on a Piece of Trash Is Comedic Gold

Fri, 04/24/2026 - 8:20pm

One man's trash can truly be another man's treasure, and this funny cat video proves it.

In a viral moment that will have you rolling on the floor laughing, one very patient kitty is literally waiting her turn to sit on a piece of cardboard.

This video shows just how much cats love cardboard (and how seriously they take comfort with it).

@ladyndisco

#onhold

♬ original sound - RockTheBells

If you've ever spent money on an expensive cat bed only for them to sit in the box it came in, this video will feel quite accurate.

Why Cats Are Obsessed With Cardboard (Yes, Really)

That must be one comfy piece of cardboard!

Do they just like cardboard because it's funny when we catch them sleeping on it?

Turns out there's actually some strong evidence as to cats and box obsessions.

A study by PLOS One found that kitties who came to a Dutch animal shelter for the first time used cardboard boxes given to them for comfort, which helped them adapt faster to their new surroundings.

A cardboard box, even one with plastic on top, provides emotional protection that can help reduce stress, especially if you have a stressed or anxious cat.

Also, if your fur baby has a bit of social anxiety around new people or their fellow dog siblings, a box provides a great place to hide.

Related: Tabby Cats Waiting in Line To Sit on the Heating Vent in Their House Is LOL Funny

Cardboard boxes or boxes of any kind also bring out the cat's inner hunter.

Felines have always been hunters, and part of their strategy is to sit and wait and hide while they stalk their prey.

Even if they aren't really hunting anything, as they're domesticated cats living in a house, hiding in a box can still provide emotional enrichment.

And then, of course, there's the fact that a cardboard box is fun to scratch and chew on for the cat, as is the plastic.

Then, at the end of the day, there is just the adage that kitties are plain curious, so why wouldn't they check out a box?

Now it makes sense why there is a 47-minute wait period for this box, and it makes for one funny cat video.

This Siberian Cat’s 3-Second Move Is Taking the Internet by Storm

Fri, 04/24/2026 - 7:55pm

When it comes to funny animals like internet-famous cats, few have what it takes to be one of the most-searched, viral, and hilarious kitties out there. The talented cats who make the shortlist are the ones you know by name, like Nimbus the Siberian "Purrari." He's massively talented in the zoomies sector, and now he's kicking it up a notch with one cool move.

If you didn't catch his 3-second move, it's at the 8-second mark when he rolls into his ice cream truck to do a quick gear shift before backing out and returning to business. As with everything this funny Siberian does, his nearly 3 million TikTok fans are impressed, with some suggesting he's so fast, he needs a speeding ticket!

There are many reasons to love this silly, goofy guy—especially those cool cat tricks—but for all the times he acts so possessed that he needs an exorcist-performing priest to visit, he's only entertaining the masses that much more. This isn't new, either. He's been a wild man as long as he's been on the planet—but his moves have only gotten better!

Siberian cats are known for their high energy and a need to burn it off, so cat zoomies make a lot of sense. As a forest breed, these felines are playful and confident with a bit of "wild man" vibes that are only calmed after an athletic speed sesh!

Zoomies, which are frenetic random activity periods (FRAPs), happen when a sudden burst of adrenaline hits, and they have to sprint until it wears off. Though they're normally akin to dogs, Nimbus shows how well cats can perform them, too.

Long live the Purrari of cats, Nimbus!

Newfoundland’s Bizarre Sleeping Position Has People Doing a Double Take

Fri, 04/24/2026 - 7:19pm

Moose, the nutty Newfoundland, has people totally puzzled by trying to fall asleep in one of the strangest positions imaginable. At first glance, it looks like he’s chewing on a chair, but the reality is way more ridiculous.

Why Moose has chosen this particular sleeping spot is a mystery, but so is how he came to be comfortable there. The gentle giant has the hard seat of a wooden chair sandwiched in his large mouth, with his tongue hanging lazily off to one side. It's all the is supporting his oversized head, while the rest of his body tries to get comfy on the floor. It's nothing short of bizarre, and I think he knows it. Before his eyes begin to close, Moose looks at the camera sheepishly as if to say, "nothing to see here."

♬ why? why? Exciting cute BGM - NaruIDEA

It almost looks as if the Newfie's teeth are stuck in the seat of the chair, trapping him there, but no, he chose to arrange himself in this way to relax and fall asleep.

All one viewer could say about this ridiculous scene was, "Oh, buddy."

Newfoundlands are great at lots of things – water rescues being the most impressive – but choosing appropriate sleeping positions isn't one of them. Not that they're alone in this peculiar behavior. Dogs of all types sleep in strange situations, and sleep quite well for that matter. The only question is why?

Related: Maltipoo Can't Stop Licking the TV, and the Reason Why Is 'Unreal'

Why Do Dogs Sleep In Weird Positions

As strange as some of these sleeping positions look, they actually say a lot about how a dog is feeling. According to Dr. Lauren Pastewka, DVM, everything from sprawling on their back to curling into a tight ball can signal comfort, temperature control, or even instinct.

Dogs who sleep on their backs, for example, are usually completely relaxed and feel safe enough to expose their most vulnerable areas. Others curl up to conserve heat or protect themselves—an instinct that dates back to their wild ancestors. Sleeping on their side typically means a dog is comfortable and at ease, while stretched-out “Superman” poses are often seen in playful, high-energy pups who are ready to jump back into action at any moment.

Some dogs also like to rest their heads on furniture (chair!)—or even their humans—which can be a sign of affection and a desire to stay close. And of course, many prefer to sleep right next to their people, a behavior rooted in their pack mentality and need for security.

If a dog’s sleeping position suddenly changes, though, it can sometimes point to discomfort, stress, or age-related issues. In those cases, it’s worth paying closer attention and checking in with a veterinarian.

At the end of the day, even the most bizarre-looking nap positions usually come down to one simple thing: your dog feels safe, comfortable, and completely at home.

Little Sheepadoodle Looks Like Snoopy in Puppy Form and It’s Too Much

People in the comments immediately clocked it. “The real Snoopy,” one person wrote, while another said, “Live-action Snoopy,” which feels like the only logical explanation at this point.

“OMG, looks just like Snoopy” showed up more than once, alongside this: “What an adorable little puppy” and a simple, “Too cute,” which really says everything that needs to be said.

I keep thinking about how my dog would react to this level of attention, and I realize he would simply sit directly in front of the camera and block the entire shot, so this puppy is already handling fame better than most.

Some dogs remind you of things. This one feels like he walked straight out of something.

Yes, Snoopy from Peanuts was meant to be a Beagle—at least according to his creator, Charles M. Schulz. Snoopy was based on his childhood dog, which was actually a Pointer.

The funny thing is, Snoopy doesn’t really look like a traditional Beagle. Schulz admitted he didn’t stick to the breed’s true physical traits and instead created a more stylized, cartoonish version. Real Beagles have longer ears, a sleeker build, and distinct markings, while Snoopy is more of a round, white pup with black ears and that famous little nose.

Who Is That? This Golden Retriever Puppy's First Mirror Encounter Is Going Viral

Fri, 04/24/2026 - 3:58pm

Some moments are pure, unfiltered joy and confusion. And when a puppy experiences that confusion? It’s pure comedy gold.

The TikTok from @mygoldensaint shows a golden retriever puppy, Saint, encountering his reflection in a mirror for the very first time.

The caption asks a question that's definitely running through the puppy's mind:

"Where has mom been hiding this handsome man for so long?!!?🤔"

The text overlay says it all: "My Golden Retriever seeing his reflection for the first time."

What follows is exactly what you'd expect from a puppy who’s just discovered himself in the mirror. He sees ‘another’ dog. A very handsome dog. A strange and exciting dog who lives inside this mysterious glass surface and won't come out to play. The puppy slightly tilts his head. Barks a little, gets closer, backs up and tries a different angle. The confusion is palpable, but it's also incredibley adorable.

The comments captured the vibe perfectly:

"Who the fluff is this?!"

"'Who TF is this?! And why is he so damn handsome?!'"

"My dog always used to look behind the mirror and got so confused when his 'friend' wasn't there 🤣🤣"

"He's probably thinking that dog on the other side is so annoying for repeating his movements."

That last comment perfectly captures the frustration and confusion. Imagine finding another dog who looks just like, mimics your every move and refuses to engage and play properly. Rude.

Why Dogs Bark at the Mirror

Here's what's actually happening: dogs don't recognize their own reflection. According to WAG, puppies are more likely to see their reflection and react like it's another dog, leading to barking and play bowing. Older dogs usually just simply ignore mirrors completely—like they don't even see themselves.

When puppies catch a glimpse of their reflection in a passing mirror, many will stop and start to bark, growl, show their teeth, or even whimper. Others get excited and see it as an invitation to play—they'll play bow, run back and forth, or even try to engage in chase. The reason? Dogs lack the self-awareness that humans and other animals possess. Human babies don't recognize their own reflection until 18-24 months old.

Animals like chimps, dolphins, gorillas, and orangutans eventually learn to recognize their own reflections in mirrors. Dogs? They never do. Scientists use the mirror self-recognition test—placing an odorless colored dot on an animal's body and seeing if they notice it in their reflection. Chimps and gorillas recognize the dot as being on their fur and part of them. Dogs never do.

Actually, some researchers believe dogs might recognize themselves through scent rather than sight. One experiment involved a dog dad marking which snow patches contained his dog's urine versus other dogs'. The dog would intently sniff other dogs' urine and pee over it, but barely sniffed his own and left it alone—suggesting some level of self-awareness through smell.

For this golden retriever puppy, though? That handsome stranger in the mirror remains an enigma.

Honestly, that's part of what makes it so much fun to watch.

Golden Retriever’s Reaction to Wearing ‘Cone of Shame’ for the First Time Is Priceless

Fri, 04/24/2026 - 3:55pm

If your dog has ever come home from the vet wearing a giant plastic cone around their neck, you’re already familiar with the so-called “cone of shame.”

Officially known as an Elizabethan collar, it’s used to prevent dogs from licking, biting or scratching at wounds, stitches or irritated skin while they heal. It may not be the most comfortable or flattering accessory, but it plays an important role in keeping pets safe during recovery.

🐶SIGN UP to get “pawsitivity” delivered right to your inbox with inspiring & entertaining stories about our furry & feathered friends🐾🐾

Of course, most dogs don’t exactly love it—and this adorable golden retriever makes that very clear. In a popular clip shared on Reddit’s r/aww, he experiences the dreaded cone for the very first time—and his reaction is funny and, honestly, a little heartbreaking.

A Very Unique Coping Strategy My golden retriever’s first experience with “the cone of shame”
by u/cturn3r in aww

Instead of panicking, flailing or trying to rip it off, this golden takes a completely different approach: total stillness.

The moment the cone goes on, he freezes. Head tilted upward, body perfectly still, not moving an inch, like someone hit pause. It’s giving off a strong “I will simply stop existing now” energy.

It’s the kind of reaction that makes you laugh, but also feel for the poor pup who clearly has no idea why his humans suddenly put this strange contraption around his neck.

The People of Reddit Weigh In

As expected, Reddit users had plenty to say—and the comments are almost as funny as the video itself.

“Poor baby became a lamp,” one person joked in the comments section

“I am good boy. I am not shame. I iz best boy,” another wrote, perfectly capturing the kind of affirmations the dog is probably telling himself.

Others saw it as a sign of patience rather than protest. “Seems like he’s trying to be patient and obedient and wait for the humans to be done with whatever they’re doing,” one commenter observed.

And for those who’ve been through the cone phase with their dogs before, alternatives were brought up too: “Pillow of despair was a hit at my house,” someone shared, referring to the soft, donut-shaped recovery collars some pets tolerate a bit better.

Why Dogs React This Way to Cones

As funny as this reaction is, there’s actually a reason behind it. Dogs rely heavily on their sense of spatial awareness, and suddenly having a large plastic cone around their head can feel disorienting. It limits their peripheral vision, changes how sound travels to their ears, and makes everyday movements, such as eating, drinking or navigating tight spaces, more challenging.

For some dogs, that sensory overload leads to frantic behavior. For others, like this golden retriever, it can result in a freeze response. When they’re unsure how to move comfortably, they simply…don’t.

As tough as it is to see your dog uncomfortable, cones are there for a reason—and they’re ultimately in your pup’s best interest. Hopefully, this very polite (and very confused) pup was eventually able to relax a bit.

Hilarious ‘Land Shark’ Meets a Real Ocean Shark in a Rare Beach Encounter

Fri, 04/24/2026 - 1:48pm

The dog slowed down mid-step, ears forward, locked onto something humans hadn't even noticed yet.

A German shepherd stood on the shoreline, staring down a splashing silver figure in the shallow surf. At first glance, it looked like debris pushed in by the tide, but the dog didn't move on. He leaned in, nose forward and tried to make sense of it.

It was a shark that had washed into the shallow water.

An Unlikely Encounter

A video of the interaction was posted to Reddit's r/germanshepherds under the title "Land shark versus ocean shark," where it quickly went viral.

As the dog got closer to the unknown animal, the tension dropped. His body softened. He'd figured out enough.

One comment offered a sharp read on what happened next: "Smart dog. He realized that the tide coming in will cause the flappy threat to come closer."

Dogs read movement and pressure constantly. What looks like instinct is often fast, real-time problem-solving. He saw the water rising. He understood the shark wasn't staying put. He adjusted. And then, instead of making things worse, he simply got out of the way and let the humans handle it.

Curiosity Is Built Into the Breed

One commenter summed up the mood immediately: "This was not the epic battle I anticipated."

The dog wasn't barking. He wasn't lunging. He was studying.

German shepherds investigate before they react. It's the same quality that makes them reliable in search-and-rescue work. They move toward the unknown rather than away from it, and they do it carefully. This dog did exactly that. Ears on the alert, body still, processing.

What's easy to miss in the video is how long that pause lasts. He doesn't rush the moment. He stands there, reading the situation, until he has enough information to decide what to do next. Most dogs would have bolted or barked by then.

Another viewer noticed it too, writing, "Thank you for helping! I love how curious but gentle your pup is, adorable."

No Sharks Were Harmed

The real story isn't the discovery. It's what the dog does after it.

He doesn't escalate. He doesn't panic. He investigates, figures out the situation and steps back. For a breed that can clear a room with one bark, that kind of self-control is worth paying attention to.

The shark was returned to the water unharmed, and the dog simply watched it go because sometimes, the smartest thing a dog does is nothing at all.

This Nifty Costco Find Helps Keep Your Pet's Kibble Fresh and Secure

Fri, 04/24/2026 - 12:55pm

If you’ve ever wrestled with keeping a half-open bag of kibble shut—or caught your pet attempting a stealth snack mission—you know that secure pet food storage can be tricker than it seems. That’s where this handy find from Costco comes in.

The simplehuman Medium Pet Food Can is one of those upgrades you didn’t realize you needed until you see how much easier (and neater) feeding time can be.

simplehuman Medium Pet Food Can, $99.99 at Costco simplehuman Medium Pet Food Can

Costco

At first glance, it looks like a simple stainless steel bin, but there is so much more to this item than meets the eye.

This container features a silicone gasket that creates an airtight seal when the lid is clamped shut. Translation: your pet’s kibble stays fresher for longer without that stale, dried-out effect that can happen when food is exposed to air.

The lock-tight handle clamps down securely with one smooth motion, helping keep curious pets from sneaking in for an unscheduled snack. If you’ve got a particularly food-motivated dog or cat, that alone is a major win.

Built-In Convenience You’ll Actually Use

One of the most thoughtful features is the scoop. Instead of digging around or losing it in the kibble, the included measuring scoop attaches magnetically under the lid. It’s always right where you need it—no rummaging required during busy mornings or evening feedings.

The container also includes a removable, BPA-free inner bucket, making it easier to clean or refill without hauling the entire unit around.

Big Capacity, Small Footprint

Despite holding up to about 27 pounds of dry pet food, the design is surprisingly space-efficient. Its slim shape makes it easy to tuck into a pantry, laundry room or kitchen corner without taking up too much room.

And if you do need to move it, built-in rear wheels make that easy, even when it’s full.

The fingerprint-resistant finish is another nice touch, helping cut down on how often you’ll need to wipe it down.

A Practical Upgrade for Pet Parents

Pet gear isn’t always known for being stylish or well designed, but this container manages to check all the boxes: it’s functional, durable and actually looks good sitting out in your home.

More importantly, it solves a few common frustrations in one go: keeping food fresh, preventing sneaky snacking and simplifying feeding routines.

If you buy kibble in bulk or just want a more streamlined setup, this Costco find is one of those simple upgrades that can make everyday pet care feel a little more seamless.

After 8 Years Together, Rescue Pit Bull Gets the Most Adorable Role at Mom’s Wedding

Fri, 04/24/2026 - 12:48pm

The guests were waiting for the bride. Then the dog walked in.

Peaches, a 10-year-old rescue pit bull, didn't just attend her mom's wedding. She had a major role in the ceremony and an adorable outfit to boot.

Here Comes the Bride (and Dog)

In a post shared to Reddit's r/pitbulls, we see Peaches, dressed in a custom-made outfit and walking with quiet confidence, step into the ceremony as maid of honor. For a moment, the entire room went quiet.

One commenter on Reddit said what everyone was thinking: "She committed a faux pas. Wearing white to a wedding. We'll let it go this time because she's so darn pretty."

A Bond 8 Years in the Making

Peaches has been with her mom for eight years. That's a lifetime of shared routines, quiet mornings and hard days made easier just by having her around. That kind of bond doesn't stay home during a milestone like a wedding.

Her mom, who calls her "Peachy mama," didn't treat the wedding like a logistics problem to manage around the dog. She made specific space for her.

Her sister-in-law, a costume designer who works with Disney, made the dress. That detail matters because it shows this wasn't a last-minute photo op. It was planned, personal and deliberate.

Dogs at Weddings: A Tradition Worth Starting

Peaches isn't the only dog to be incorporated into a wedding. Couples have been finding ways to include their dogs in ceremonies for years now. Some walk them down the aisle. Others hand off the rings. Some just want their dog sitting nearby during the vows.

It's a simple idea: if your dog has been with you through the hard parts, they probably belong at the good parts too.

The story picked up hundreds of comments from Redditors. One person wrote, "What a beautiful girl! Best maid of honor ever!"

The Moment That Stays With You

What made Peaches' story noteworthy wasn't the outfit. It was how unsurprising it looked.

When you've lived with a dog for eight years, you stop thinking about where they are. You already know. You know which spot they sleep in, what their mood looks like before a thunderstorm and when they just want to sit close without a reason.

Peaches and her mom had that. The kind of shorthand that takes years to build and can't be faked for a ceremony.

They had spent 2,920 days together before that altar. The wedding was just the day it became a photograph.

One commenter summed it up: "Oh, she knows she's the star of the show!"

And honestly? She's earned it.

Dalmatian Puppy 'Plays It Cool' at the Vet and It's Pure Comedy Gold

Fri, 04/24/2026 - 10:10am

I don't know many dogs that enjoy going to the vet. My canine cuties dread their yearly visits and start shaking as soon as we hit the parking lot. Yet some fearless fur babies take those exams and vaccine updates in their stride.

Poppy the Dalmatian puppy was one cool customer during her recent vet appointment and looked like she was just hanging out at her favorite watering hole.

In the TikTok from @poppy.littledalmatian, the pretty pooch strolled around the exam room while she waited for the doctor to come in. Poppy was as cool as a cucumber and didn't seem distracted or concerned about the sterile white walls, examining table, or medical tools that were in full view. To the darling Dalmatian, it looked like it was just another outing.

Poppy decided to lie down under the exam table and put her arm up in a very relaxed pose. She had the stance of someone at a local bar or concert venue, just chilling and enjoying some zen vibes.

"Acting cool at the vet," the onscreen text read.

Followers got a kick out of Poppy's cavalier attitude and guessed at what may have been going through her mind.

"Yeah bro, not my first time here," one remarked.

"She’s like 'yeah I get this on the regular',“ another commented.

"Now THAT'S a dog that knows their worth," a follower pointed out.

"Just here for my shots — no biggie," someone joked.

Why Do Dogs Get Nervous at the Vet?

It's common for dogs to be fearful during a vet visit. Reasons for their anxiety include past stressful experiences, having to be around other nervous dogs in the waiting room, and the different smells and sounds of a busy vet's office.

Related: 8 Golden Retriever Puppies Go to the Vet and the Cutest Chaos Results

The examination itself can also be scary for some dogs. Having to be poked and prodded by a person they rarely see is understandably uncomfortable.

There are ways to expend that nervous energy before your dog's appointment, such as taking them for a long walk, bringing a favorite toy, having treats on hand for positive reinforcement, or medication if your canine is extremely distressed.

For Poppy, her vet visit seemed like just another day at the office.

Tiny Kitten Grew in an Unexpected Way and People Are Obsessed

Fri, 04/24/2026 - 9:20am

Kittens are nothing short of furry little miracles sent from above, and it's heartbreaking when any of them have a less-than-perfect entrance into the world. Graham, the kitten, was born with an umbilical cord complication—another kitten's cord wrapped snug around Graham's legs—cutting off circulation. Despite the challenges that came with being initially paralyzed, this small but mighty kitten is showing everyone the amazing things he's capable of.

@jesspaulsonart

♬ Sunlight On The Sill - Kenta Yamaguchi

Graham was born with (as fans commented) "Lieutenant Dan" or "Hank Hill" legs and mobility issues, as his body grew faster than his legs, but that didn't stop him from conquering everything his littermates could do, and more. He adapted and overcame every single challenge that came his way, and didn't let his lack of leg mobility stop him.

He plays, frolics, "runs," and does everything a "normal" kitten can do as if he doesn't notice he's a little different. Graham is the epitome of grit, resilience, and mind over matter, and we couldn't be more in love with this special-needs baby.

Along with Cheerio, Jellybean, Clover, and Blueberry, Graham is doing just fine. Mama Nilla is so proud of her new brood of kittens and loves our differently abled kitty king Graham like all the rest.

As Mom commented, Graham is doing great and "has a lot of movement and muscle in those little legs." She added that he'll "be a goofy lookin' guy when he moves, but it doesn't seem like it will stop him," so that's good news!

♬ When the Clouds Cleared - Alexander Motovilov How To Care for a Disabled Kitten

Thank goodness Graham has a loving and devoted family to help care for him because kittens with special needs require extra patience and nurturing.

Aside from specialized attention to help him go to the bathroom regularly, modifying his space to make it an accessible environment, and offering mobility support, safety is also key. Things like ramps and a litter box he can get into and out of easily will help this little guy immensely. It'll take consistency with routines and proper veterinary care to keep pets like Graham healthy and happy.

Disabled kittens can also benefit from vet recommendations, such as gentle stretching or physical therapy, to ensure a better quality of life. He's already thriving and sees himself no different from his siblings, and it's that kind of can-do attitude and confidence that will open up a whole new world for that sweet boy as he continues stealing all of our hearts.

Australian Shepherd Meets Emu Chicks and Immediately Tries To Teach Them How To Be Dogs

Fri, 04/24/2026 - 8:55am

There is something deeply hilarious about a farm moment that starts out normal and then slowly turns into a full-blown, cross-species life lesson. Because apparently, if you are an Australian Shepherd named Malibu, it's your responsibility to make sure everyone around you understands how to properly be a dog. Even if they are… not dogs. Even if they are tiny, fluffy, slightly confused emu chicks who didn't ask for this kind of mentorship.

Just look at this How To Be a Dog lesson in action.

@2guysandsomeland

Malibu training the Dinos to also be dogs 🦖 #foryou #dog #dino #emu #cute

♬ Funny Song - Sounds Reel & Funny Song Studio & Thomas Hewitt Jones

The video from @2guysandsomeland opens with Malibu doing what Australian Shepherds do best, which is taking a job that doesn't exist and committing to it, anyway. The caption says it all: Malibu is teaching the “dinos” to also be dogs, and honestly, he takes that assignment very seriously. There's no hesitation. No questioning whether this is possible. Just pure confidence.

Related: Maltipoo Turns Into a Tiny Ballerina When Asked If She Wants To Try Cucumber

What follows is one of those moments where you can feel your brain trying to process what you're watching. Malibu demonstrates classic dog behavior; rolling over in the grass like this is the most obvious thing in the world. And then, somehow, one of the emu chicks decides to try it.

Try is the key word here.

Because the chick gives it everything. Full effort. Total commitment. And then physics steps in. Two very long legs, zero understanding of what is happening, and suddenly the whole thing turns into a slightly wobbly attempt that ends with the chick popping back up like nothing happened. Then he's like, nope, no thanks, this move isn't for me!

People in the comments were completely gone over this. One person wrote, “That’s prob the cutest thing I’ve seen today!” while another said, “Stop it! This is so adorable!” which feels accurate because there's no defense against this level of wholesome chaos.

Someone else pointed out the obvious logistical issue, “Yeah... ya kinda need four legs to balance out the rolling on the back. I bet it feels too weird with only two long legs. But hey, they tried!” and that really is the entire situation. They tried. And Malibu, bless him, absolutely believes they can get there with enough practice.

Another comment said, “Oh my gosh, that is the absolute cutest thing I’ve seen all day. I love the dinos,” which… same. Fully same. At no point did anyone expect to watch an Australian Shepherd attempt to train emu chicks as if they were in some kind of tiny farm academy, and yet, here we are.

Do Emus Make Good Pets? @shilohfarm

3 Facts About Emus 🪶🇦🇺 ⚡️ These 3-toed birds have incredibly strong legs capable of running 30MPH with strides over 9 feet long! 🪩 Emus are incredibly curious birds that love to inspect shiny objects. Emus are fascinating birds, but they're not typical household pets and require a very specific environment to thrive. They are large, flightless birds that need plenty of space to roam, making them better suited to farms or large rural properties rather than suburban homes.

They can be social and curious, especially if raised around humans, but they are still wild animals at heart. Emus have strong legs and can kick with significant force, which means handling them requires experience and caution.

Caring for emus also involves specialized needs, including appropriate fencing, a proper diet, and access to outdoor space. They can live for many years, so bringing one into your life is a long-term commitment that goes far beyond typical pet parenthood.

While they can form bonds with people, they're naturally inclined to behave like dogs or cats, no matter how convincing a very determined Australian Shepherd might be.
