If your cat has ever squeezed into a shoebox, claimed a laundry basket or disappeared into the smallest nook they can find, this Costco find might be right up their alley.

K&H Mod Dream Pod Pet Bed, Gray, $39.99 at CostcoAt first glance, the bed looks like something out of a sci-fi movie. Its rounded, bowl-like shape creates a semi-enclosed space, with a wide circular opening that makes it easy for cats to hop in and out.
Inside, there’s a plush, removable cushion that gives cats a soft place to curl up, while the enclosed design helps create that snug, tucked-away feeling many felines crave. The exterior is made from a durable, heavy-duty polyester, so it’s built to hold up to regular use.
The whole setup unzips at the halfway point, so you can take off the top part if your cat is feeling a more open setup.
Reviews Say It’s a Hit (Even With Multiple Cats)In the product review section, Costco shoppers are sharing just how much their kitties love this unique pod bed.
“Cats immediately went in. Was hesitant to buy this but they love it. 3 cats went in it together (12 lbs, 9 lbs, 9 lbs). 4th cat wanted to go in too, but couldn’t fit (11 lbs). Would buy again,” one reviewer wrote.
Another added, “This cave was so popular we had to get one for each cat. It’s a perfect spot for even the most discriminating of felines.”
And in a review titled “Kitty loves spaceship!”, one shopper shared, “3 kitties and one is especially obsessed with this pod! Good buy!”

Why Cats Love Cozy, Enclosed SpacesIf your cat is constantly burrowing into blankets or hiding under furniture, there’s a reason for that.
Cats are both predators and prey by nature, which means they instinctively gravitate toward spaces where they feel protected but can still keep an eye on their surroundings. Enclosed beds like this one give them a sense of security, helping them relax more deeply.
Warmth plays a role, too. A semi-covered design traps heat, creating a cozy environment that’s especially appealing for naps (aka your cat’s favorite hobby).
An Out-of-This-World Upgrade for Your CatsWith its roomy interior (about 21 inches across), washable cushion and sturdy construction, this pod is a practical addition to your cat’s lounging lineup. And let’s be honest: the spaceship vibes don’t hurt.
If your cat loves cozy hideouts—and most do—this Costco find might just become their new favorite place to land.

$10 Million Horse Prancing Around the Show Definitely Knows His Worth
One of the most interesting things about humans, to me, is how we all choose to spend our money. I invest in a lot of lotions, perfumes, and other things that smell good. Some people like to buy cars.
Others, apparently, spend $10 million on a horse. It might sound crazy, but in their defense, this $10 million horse is one of the most handsome animals I've ever seen! He knows it, too. Just look at him prancing around the auction:
@averagegirlsarahis muscles are actually insane. none of the other two year olds looked like him!! #racehorses #10milliondollarhorse #ocalabreederssale #ocala #racing
♬ original sound - ۶٩This isn't Sara's horse; she was there showing her own horse, though. This was at the Ocala Breeder's Sales: this horse is about 2 years old, and he's already pure muscle. He's in incredible physical condition, and beyond that, he's absolutely beautiful.
He doesn't have a name yet, known only as Hip 1056. He was purchased for $10.5 million by Zedan Racing, which is a well-known stable company in the horse racing circuit. They're based in Lexington, Kentucky, so this handsome horse will likely be traveling quite a way to his new home.
Related: Precious Horse Thinks Human Is ‘Her Baby’ and Becomes the Best Protector
Why Was Hip 1056 Worth So Much?I can think of approximately 10.5 million things I would spend $10.5 million on before a horse, but the idea that a horse was worth that much is amazing to me. Hip 1056 was worth the hefty price tag because he's:
- The first-born son of Flightline, another racehorse who recently retired undefeated.
- A descendant of Secretariat, who's probably the best-known racehorse ever.
- Already showing incredible potential, according to his new caretakers.
Bob Baffert, who purchased Hip 1056 on behalf of Zedan Racing, is a six-time Kentucky Derby champion. Essentially, they're paying that much for the potential that they could have the next big racehorse on their hands, since he's the equine equivalent of a nepo-baby.
Lots of Horses Are Descendants of SecretariatThese days, finding a horse who's related to Secretariat is not difficult. Secretariat was born in 1970 and had a 16-month racing career, spanning from 1972 to 1973. After winning the Triple Crown Trophy as well as American Horse of the Year, he retired from racing and instead had a long breeding career.
A statue of Secretariat.Image via Shutterstock / Jill Lang
Secretariat sired almost 700 foals. There is no exact number of his descendants, but there are a lot of them: every single horse who raced in the 2025 Kentucky Derby was a descendant of Secretariat. Does that mean the Kentucky Derby is one big family reunion?
Being that Hip 1056 is two years old now, we should see him begin taking to the track in an official capacity soon. I hope he has a good run and then lives a long, healthy life afterward!

Flat-Faced Cat’s Post-Surgery Haircut Makes Him Look Like a Bald Bunny
There's something about a post-surgery pet that makes you feel equal parts protective and… slightly caught off guard. Because you're expecting “a little different,” not a full identity shift that has you doing a double take and then quietly apologizing to your cat.
This little, flat-faced cat delivers exactly that moment. One second, you're looking at a perfectly normal body, and the next, you're trying to process a haircut that makes him look like a bunny who had brain surgery.
The clip was shared on Instagram by @vet_lauren_, and as the caption puts it, “This is the worst post-surgery haircut I have ever seen.” The top of the cat’s head is shaved, leaving him with a look that's somehow both very serious and completely ridiculous at the same time.
Image: vet_lauren_/InstagramImage: vet_Lauren/Instagram
The expression doesn't help. He looks deeply concerned. Slightly alarmed. Like he's aware something has happened, but isn't entirely sure what or why.
Related: Doodle Mid-Groom Looks Like a Walking Throw Rug
People in the comments didn't hold back. “Was the surgery to remove his brain?” one person joked, which feels harsh but also very internet. Another said, “That’s the fishiest cat I’ve ever seen. His eyes look like catfish eyes,” which is oddly specific, but somehow still lands.
Others were a little more sympathetic. “He’s bald, and I laughed so hard. Poor baby, I hope his recovery is smooth!” one commenter wrote, which is probably the most accurate emotional response. You feel bad… but you are also laughing.
One person admitted, “Somehow I didn’t notice the haircut at first. Then I looked in the mirror to see if I had the same procedure done,” which is honestly impressive. And then there was, “Bro got derp sauce on his face, too,” which really rounds out the tone here.
The reality is, post-surgery haircuts are not about looks. They are about access, cleanliness, and helping vets do what they need to do safely. But every once in a while, you end up with a look that feels… memorable.
How To Take Care of Your Cat After Surgery Tabby cat wearing a soft surgery cone.Image Via: OzzyMac/Shutterstock

After surgery, your cat will need a calm and comfortable space to recover. Keeping them in a quiet area away from noise and activity can help reduce stress and support healing.
It's important to follow your veterinarian’s instructions closely, especially when it comes to medications, feeding, and activity levels. Some kitties may need to limit jumping or running for a period of time.
You will also want to monitor the surgical site for any signs of redness, swelling, or discharge. If anything looks unusual or your cat seems uncomfortable, it's best to contact your vet.
Using an e-collar or protective clothing can help prevent your cat from licking or irritating the area while it heals. It may not be their favorite accessory, but it plays an important role in recovery.
Most importantly, give your pet time. They may seem a little off or different at first, but with rest and care, they usually return to their normal selves quickly… even if the haircut takes a little longer to grow out.

Bernese Mountain Dog's Emotional Reaction to a New Puppy Is Breaking Hearts
Not all dogs love the idea of being a big brother or sister, especially if they're used to being the baby of the family.
For Gus, the Bernese Mountain Dog, losing his older brother and doggy mentor, Walter, has been a difficult change. New puppy Hank is adorable, but his presence isn't exactly Gus' vibe. During the first few interactions, "Gustopher Gusset Potato" isn't afraid to let his true feelings fly!

There's always going to be an adjustment period with any new pets, but this is what Walt would probably call justice for all the puppy things Gus did to annoy him. Ah, sibling life, am I right?

♬ original sound - thebraleyfamily Easy Ways To Help Your Dog Adjust to a New PuppyTo give a new puppy the best start without sacrificing the resident older pup's quality of life, experts suggest doing a gradual introduction where each dog has their own separate space to retreat to when overwhelmed, as well as separate food and water bowls, beds, and anything else that could become a territorial issue.
When they're calm, reward them consistently and be sure the older pooch has places to escape where the puppy can't get to them if they're tired of all the shenanigans. Likewise, dedicated one-on-one time goes a long way in reassuring the first baby that they're still just as important.
With all these changes, routines are even more important than ever to establish expectations and keep anxiety low (for them and you!). Above all else, be patient. Things may not be great right away, but given time, they'll be friends eventually (hopefully!).

Florida Police Officer Wrangles Alligator With His Bare Hands and the Outcome Is Wild
In a jaw-dropping moment that’s taking social media by storm, a Florida police officer can be seen wrangling a stray alligatorusing nothing but his bare hands.
The bold officer came face to face with the lost alligator in a parking lot. Knowing the danger and unpredictability of a wild gator, he was quick to act, keeping the public safe while also ensuring the animal was not harmed.
The wild scene is the subject of a shocking animal video that quickly went viral on social media. In the video, the quick-thinking officer encounters an alligator in the dead of night in a parking lot. Rather than lose his composure, he acts fast. What happens next is truly remarkable.

Immediately, another police officer rushes in to help. Together, the officers restrain the alligator’s mouth and tape it shut to keep everyone involved, including the alligator, safe.
Over 8,000 people liked the video, and more than 100 comments were shared. Curious commenters were quick to note the alligator’s calm demeanor, with some even calling it “friendly.” Many others suggested the animal was likely a baby.
What to Do If You Encounter an Alligator @sutteenwolfGator needs his walking ‘round money! Early morning at Circle B Bar Reserve resulted into something prehistoric. Seeing a big ol’ boy cross the trail in front of you is a lot cooler than it should have been. And yes. That is a woman pushing her stroller right on past. Because in Florida this is just a typical Monday. #wildlife #wildlifephotography #florida #alligator #nature
♬ original sound - sutteenwolfWhile South Floridians may be used to seeing the occasional alligator roaming around, most people are not prepared to face one in the wild.
Experts suggest remaining calm if you encounter an alligator and staying at least 20 feet away from the animal. Slowly back away, but if the alligator charges, your safest option is to run in a straight line, as alligators tire quickly.
Above all else, if you come face to face with an alligator, do not panic. Alligators are likely far more scared of humans than humans are of them.
While this animal video highlights how humans and wildlife can coexist without harming the animal, it also underscores just how dangerous a day on the job for a Florida police officer can be.
Belgian Malinois Puppy Tries ‘Settle Training’ but Then Chaos Takes Over
There are a million reasons to love puppies. They’re cute, cuddly, and full of inquisitive charm. But if you’ve ever raised one, you know they’re also a whole lot of work.
And with high-energy, highly intelligent breeds like a Belgian Malinois, that puppy stage hits even harder. Even 30 minutes of playtime outside isn’t enough to tire them out for a moment, especially when they’re young. For Subie, a few minutes of rest quickly turned into pure puppy chaos.
Watch this little troublemaker in action in the adorable April 14 Instagram shared by @subiethemal:

Instead of staying put, this mischievous pup started tugging his crate across the room. The only thing that slowed him down was the TV stand.
And when he was caught? Not a hint of regret. If anything, he looked pretty proud of himself.

@fidgettherescuemal added, “When I first taught mine to settle on a mat, she started moving her mat all around the house so she could settle where she wanted lol,” which speaks to the breed’s intelligence.
Another noted, “Malis will find a challenge everywhere.”

Belgian Malinois are known for their intelligence and energy, which is why even after a solid play session or training time, moments like this can still happen. According to the American Kennel Club, the breed thrives on both physical activity and mental engagement, especially during the puppy stage. Even with the right structure in place, they’re quick to find their own ways to stay busy, which often looks a lot like creative mischief.
Though the puppy phase has plenty of challenging moments, it’s always worth it. After all, where else could you find this much cuteness and chaos to make you smile so early in the day?
Moment Cat Finds Gopher in House at 4:30 AM Leaves Humans Stunned
It’s a scenario cat parents know well. Your calm, cool cat turns into a ferocious jungle cat at the mere sight of a rodent, whether real or a toy. A house cat caught on video in the midst of a serious showdown with a lost baby Gopher has the internet taking notice. No matter how well-fed and cared for indoor cats are, they still have a desire to hunt, a reminder that animals’ instincts don’t go away even if a cat is a domesticated diva like this one.
Spoiler alert: neither the cat nor the baby Gopher was harmed in the making of this viral cat video. The Gopher was escorted outside, and the cat, well, the cat got to get its desire to hunt out of its system. That’s a win-win for all. Here’s what went down.
In a viral social media video captioned, “Imagine waking up to this terrifying sound at 4:30 a.m.,” a gray-and-white housecat can be seen stalking and swatting a baby Gopher that found its way inside the house.

Rightly so, this Gopher detects a threat, which is where the clicking sound comes in. Gophers grind their teeth together to make the sound heard in the video, their way of seeming aggressive and threatening.
The Gopher’s clicking noise is more of an unwanted alarm clock for the humans in the house than a signal to stand down for the cat. This cat wants to hunt, and hunt he does.

What This Reveals About Cats' Hunting Instincts @breynoldswvKitten playing with his food… or is it?#catmousechase #kittensoftiktok #catsoftiktok
♬ Kung Fu Fighting - Tune TimesRegardless of how posh a cat’s life has become indoors, its nature is that of a hunter. Thank their ancestors for this deep-rooted behavior. Despite living in comfort with plush beds and premium meals, cats share 95% of their DNA with wild cats. This species is built to be predatory.
Even cat parents who haven’t experienced a surprise rodent at 4 a.m. have likely seen their cat treat a stuffed toy like a punching bag. The same goes for a child’s toy, a shoe, or a soft household item. Cats have a biological need to hunt. This behavior helps them expend energy and stay mentally engaged.
So if you’ve wondered why your cat can suddenly switch and treat a toy or small animal like an enemy, your cat doesn’t have a dark side. It is simply satisfying an instinctive drive to hunt.
If you’re having an aha moment realizing how happy your cat seems swatting at anything in its path, sometimes even your head, your cat is likely trying to tell you it needs more stimulation, like toys to chase and hunt. Otherwise, that energy may be directed at furniture, favorite shoes, or even your feet.
Like the cat in this video stalking the Gopher that wandered inside, a cat’s need to hunt is primal. This cat is simply following instinct, even if the jungle happens to be a cozy living room filled with soft beds and playful toys.

After Feeding Her Newborn Owlets, This Tired Mama Owl’s Face Says It All
Blink once if you're ok, babe.
A mama Barred Owl has people (aka women) nodding in agreement after giving a very relatable look to the camera following a feeding session with her owlets. With feathers out of place and an unmistakably tired expression, her beautiful but bedraggled face says everything about life with hungry babies.
As the caption rightly points out, "It's hard work taking care of little ones," and no one knows this better than this mama right here. Even though her fuzzy little owlets are irresistible, her glassy-eyed stare makes clear the exhausting truth about the early days of motherhood.
View this post on InstagramI have been this owl, and the comments are exploding with other people who recognize that quietly desperate look, too.
"Every mother’s face," says one.
"Lmao, this is exactly what I looked like after I had my kid," admits another.
"She’s gazing into the void, questioning her life choices," adds a third.
The sympathetic comments go on and on and on.
One fan even posted a business idea, "If you ever start a greeting card company, this is the cover for a Mother’s Day card!"
Looks like Mother's Day can't come fast enough, even in the bird world. I hope there's a daddy owl ready to give this heroine a break.
Related: Tiny Hummingbird Lands by a Hot Tub Then Does Something Adorable
Why Barred Owl Moms Look So Tired After Feeding Their OwletsYes, motherhood is a labor of love, and a draining one at that. Why? Because, as is the case with caring for newborn humans, tending to barred owlets is a round-the-clock job. According to the Cornell University Ornithology Lab (the host of this particular bird cam), "Now that incubation is complete, the female will spend the next two weeks brooding her owlets almost constantly. After that, the owlets will be old enough to spend some time alone, and she can take longer breaks from the nest box."
So, forgive her if she looks a little unkempt while on call 24/7. Soon, though, her sleepless nights will be a thing of the past. Young owls typically leave the nest around 4 to 5 weeks old, moving into nearby branches until they’re ready to fly at about 10 weeks. They stay close to their siblings through the summer and continue to be fed by their parents before gradually becoming independent in early fall.

This Dachshund Puppy's Tiny Howl Has Everyone Obsessed
Whether we’re raising puppies or human children, learning to communicate is one of the most uplifting and emotional rites of passage to witness. A tiny Dachshund’s attempt at a big dog howl is giving parents to canines and kids alike a reminder that babies of all species and breeds just want to find a way to connect and communicate. This little dog’s howl might be small, but his message is mighty: I’m here, too.
Parents to humans know that even before babies can talk, they communicate through nonverbal cues like body language. Likewise, before they can speak, children make sounds as their way to connect with the people around them.
A viral social media video of a two-month-old Dachshund’s charming attempt at howling is proof that from a young age, dogs just want to communicate and connect with their humans and other dogs, too.

♬ original sound - Sausage Dog - Sausage DogWhile commenters warned the Dachshund’s howl might be less charming as the dog ages and the sound gets louder, viewers called the pup’s attempt “adorable,” “charming,” and “so cute.”
Beyond the high cute factor, this video is a reminder that dogs are pack animals at their core. There’s nothing a dog wants more than to be part of a pack. The back-and-forth howling, and this little one’s attempt to keep up with the bigger dog, is the pup’s way of joining in.
Humans are no different, which makes this dog video especially relatable. Human kids, like puppies, try to find their place by copying the behavior of older siblings, relatives, or friends.
This tiny Dachshund may look like he’s trying to find his howl, and he is, but he’s also trying to find his pack. Humans may not howl, but they communicate and try to fit in in other ways, from emulating behaviors of friends and siblings to how they dress and even how they speak.
Whether you’re a dog or a human, trying to fit in and be part of a pack is a universal milestone. Eventually, everyone finds their howl and their place. Sometimes, the process even makes for an adorable viral dog video that reminds us just how meaningful growing up can be, especially when you’re watching from the outside.

Great Dane Making the Most of Toddler’s ‘Big Boy Bed’ Still Barely Fits
Great Danes have my heart. They're so big and wonderful, I just wish I could have one! Unfortunately, though, my house is simply not built for that. There's no way I could fit one of those big pups in my home!
Instead, I live vicariously through people who can. Like this family: they have both a Great Dane and a toddler. When the toddler got upgraded to a big boy bed recently, his Great Dane sibling decided to try to climb in, too... And it did not go as planned:
@theearpbrotherspeace, love, Lombardi 🤞🏻🙌🏼🥹 #fyp #greatdane #toddler
♬ original sound - ANDREA & THE DANESLombardi the Great Dane is the best influence on his baby brother. He's clearly showing him that you can't give up, even if something doesn't seem like it's going to work. Even though he doesn't technically fit, he's willing to squeeze in anyway.
Lombardi would do anything for his sibling. He hops right over those bars and into the bed, though luckily, his parents don't mind. They must have figured he would be able to: he's a Great Dane, and the bed is on the floor. You don't have to be Nancy Drew to know how that will end.
Related: Great Dane ‘Steals’ Brother’s Skateboard With Sneaky ‘Scooby Doo’ Moves
The best part about it is that this is meant to be a big boy bed, and it could probably fit a decent-sized human... But Lombardi is squeezing in. He hardly fits! I know he and the baby probably snuggle all the time, but I can't even imagine how they both squeeze onto that bed together!
Lombardi is just glad he's finally got someone to play with. When his brother was really little, things between them were a little rocky:
@theearpbrothersIf humna shaped why not doing human duties? #fyp #brothers #cutebaby #cutedog
♬ original sound - ANDREA & THE DANESHe's got a point. Babies really aren't good for much at first. They don't even have knee caps when they're born! They're much more fun when they're a little bit older and can drop food on the floor.
Where Do Great Danes Sleep? The one thing I don't envy about people who have Great Danes is the fact that they have to find somewhere for them to sleep, and that much take up a lot of space. A Great Dane is basically the size of a full-grown human!
Great Dane legs on a small bed.Image via Shutterstock / SeaRick1
Not just any dog bed will do. Great Danes are also notorious for bone and joint problems, which means you'll want to find a bed that's:
- Supportive.
- Not too high, but not too low to the ground.
- Big enough to fit them.
A lot of people actually just end up getting their Great Danes twin-sized mattresses! They have warranties, you can find orthopedic options, and you can simply put a fitted sheet and a mattress protector on them to keep them in good condition.
I bet Lombardi's parents would do that, too... If he wasn't already stealing a mattress from a baby.

Super-Fluffy Doodle Puppy With Wild Hair Walks in and Starts Grumble Talking

Her hair somehow makes the whole thing even better. It's big. It's fluffy. It's doing whatever it wants. Think tiny dandelion puff meets slightly disgruntled lion. One commenter said, “The hairdo is just the cherry on top,” and honestly, that might be underselling it.
“She has so much to say!” another person wrote, which feels correct because this isn't a quick remark. This is a speech. A statement. Possibly a list of grievances.
“I would love to know what she is complaining about,” someone else added, followed immediately by, “Maybe she is complaining about her crazy hair?” which… fair. Valid concern.
“Oh, she is just the cutest,” another comment read, while someone else called her “the fluffiest lion,” and both things are true at the same time.

♬ A Day in My Life - Soft boyYes, Goldendoodles typically require regular grooming to keep their coats healthy and comfortable. Their fur can range from wavy to very curly, and without consistent care, it can become tangled or matted.
Brushing several times a week helps prevent knots and keeps their coat soft and manageable. Many Goldendoodle parents also schedule professional grooming every six to eight weeks to maintain a neat length and shape.
Because their coats continue to grow, trims are important not just for appearance but for comfort. Keeping the fur around their eyes, ears, and paws tidy can help them see clearly and move comfortably.
Dogs like Clementine, with especially fluffy coats, may need a bit more attention, but the payoff is that signature soft, cloud-like look that makes them so recognizable.

A Rare K-9 Emergency Just Led to a First-of-Its-Kind Moment in the Sky
The helicopter was not meant for dogs. That is what makes this story matter.
Luca is a six-year-old Belgian Malinois and a full patrol K-9 with the Criminal Investigation Division at the Clay County Sheriff's Department in North Carolina. He has spent his career doing the work most people never see: tracking, apprehending and protecting the officers beside him.
However, on this day, he was the one who needed help.
Why Luca Needed HelpLuca was exposed to concentrated ozone and went into serious respiratory distress. His handler got him to a local veterinary clinic quickly, where he was stabilized and sedated. But stabilized was not enough. He needed a higher level of care, and he needed it fast.
The drive was too long. His lungs could not wait.
So the team made a call that had never been made before in Tennessee. They airlifted Luca by medical helicopter to the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine, marking the first time in the state that an air medical team had ever transported a K-9 officer.
Related: Retired Police Malinois Turns 12 and Does Not Hold Back on His Birthday Cupcake
The Preparation Was Worth ItWhat made the flight possible was preparation that happened long before the emergency did.
Emergency teams had practiced this kind of landing months earlier. Veterinary groups had worked through the logistics in advance. The plan existed before Luca ever needed it.
That matters because working dogs face risks that are easy to underestimate. Ozone damages lung tissue fast. Dogs inhale more air relative to their body size than humans do, which means exposure escalates more quickly and leaves a smaller window to act. In a situation like Luca's, every minute of that drive to a distant facility is a minute his body cannot afford.
The response to Luca's story focused on one thing: the way these dogs are treated when it actually counts.
Not as tools, not as assets, but as partners who have earned what they receive.
"Thanks for the great care given to Luca," one person wrote. "I hope he will be able to resume his impressive duties soon." Another person added, "This is amazing. I am so thankful for all involved."
For Luca's handler, this was not a procedural outcome. It was his partner, sedated in the back of a helicopter, with the question of whether he would be OK hanging in the air.
What Changes NowBecause of this flight, the next K-9 in Tennessee facing a life-threatening emergency will not be the first. The precedent exists. The logistics have been tested. The path is shorter than it was before.
Luca made history without knowing it. When he recovers and goes back to his usual patrol in Clay County, he will be remembered as the dog who paved the way. His flight will matter for every working dog that comes after him.

Great Pyrenees Who ‘Eats Packages’ Looks Like a Hangry Polar Bear
Guard dogs are a vital part of so many lives. They help keep families and farms safe. Without them, who knows what would happen to the ones they protect? There's no better breed for that than the Great Pyrenees.
Most of the time, anyway. There's one Great Pyrenees who certainly makes a great guard dog... If you're a mail carrier. He loves to eat the packages, apparently, and no one wants to mess with him. Just look at him! That's a polar bear:
@livinwithrachI deliver hundreds of packages a week 📦 and run into all kinds of animals. Welcome too. “Are you friendly series” 🐾. Meet Hank areyoufriendly🐾
♬ original sound - livinwithrachApparently, Living With Rach includes delivering hundreds of packages a week. She sees all kinds of animals, from dogs to cats and probably even some farm friends here and there. Hank really takes the cake, though.
His mom put a note in the delivery instructions that clearly states that Hank eats packages, according to a comment between her and Hank's mom, who found the TikTok. There was even a picture of him eating packages on the inside of the door!
Related: Great Pyrenees Who’s ‘Scared’ of His Own Babies Is the Silliest
This is the first time she's ever delivered to Hank's house, but hopefully, it won't be the last. For now, though, she's visiting other dogs, including this big boy:
@livinwithrachYes I’m friendly lady, I’m giving you all the signs to pet ME #areyoufriendly🐾
♬ original sound - livinwithrachI love this "Are You Friendly" series. In my heart, every dog is secretly friendly!
Keeping Dogs Safe Around Delivery DriversFriendly or not, when it comes to allowing dogs around delivery drivers, it's important to be mindful. They're people doing their job: they might not want to interact with your dog, even if they're friendly as can be.

If you have a dog and you get a lot of delivery drivers, you should:
- Keep them separated, such as by a fence or gate.
- Post a sign that says "beware of dog," or you could get one that mentions they're friendly.
- Mention them in the delivery instructions so the driver knows what to expect.
Proper training is important, too: a properly trained dog won't run up on a driver and scare them. If you're not sure, it's best to be cautious and keep the dog away! Luckily, though, Hank is a friendly boy... Though a hungry one.

This Family Knew Their 12-Year-Old German Shepherd's Time Was Limited, So They Gave Him a Perfect Day
For one aging German Shepherd, the beach is not just a destination. It is the place where he is fully himself: ears up, nose working overtime, eyes tracking the horizon. You can see it in the photos his dad posted to Reddit in r/germanshepherds. The dog looks settled in a way he probably doesn't anywhere else.
The dog is 12 years old, white as sea foam and completely obsessed with the ocean. His back legs, though, have other ideas. Getting there is the hard part. Getting back is harder.
So his owner does what any devoted dog parent eventually figures out they would do: he picks him up and carries him across the sand. Because when your dog has loved you for 12 years, you carry him to the waves.
A Dog Who Has Already Beaten the OddsThis shepherd has been defying timelines for a while now. As his dad explained in a Reddit post, 20 months ago his family almost lost him when his gallbladder ruptured. That kind of emergency changes the way you measure time. You stop thinking in years and start thinking in good days. You stop postponing things and start doing them while you still can.
The beach trip was one of those things.
Related: Mom Adopts Dark German Shepherd Only to Find a Golden Surprise 3 Years Later
Now, his family is looking into a mobility cart, hoping it will help him keep using his back legs a little longer. "We're going to rent one and see how it goes," his dad shared in the comments.
It is not about fixing him. It is about giving him more chances to still be himself.
What the Beach Does for a Senior DogLook at both photos, and the shift is immediately obvious.
Being carried to the beach, he looks uncertain and not quite sure what is happening. However, the moment his paws hit the sand, his entire body changes.
Dogs do not need long walks to feel alive. They need the right environment. New smells. Open space. Ground that asks something of them, just enough to keep them engaged. The beach delivers all of it at once, and for a senior dog with limited mobility, that kind of stimulation hits differently than a slow walk around the block.
The Part That Stays With YouIf you have ever had an aging dog, you already know this feeling.
You start planning around them without realizing it. Shorter routes. Softer food. Watching their energy more carefully. Looking for the small sparks that tell you they are still enjoying things.
One commenter said it in a way that resonated: "My dog's old too. I find myself going out of the way to make his remaining time more enjoyable. Least we can do given all the good times."
Another person simply wrote: "You're the best kind of human. You care."
That is the change with senior dogs. You stop thinking long-term and start thinking in moments. And the moments you make possible—a morning at the beach, paws in the sand, salt air—those become the whole point.
At the beach, this German shepherd does not look like a dog defined by what he has lost. He looks like a dog who knows exactly what he has.

Pug Asks Neighbor Australian Shepherd to Play -- His Reaction Says It All
There are moments when you realize your new house came with unexpected perks. For TikToker @jayy_payne, that perk is a pug named Potato.
The video shows exactly what the caption promises: "My neighbor's Pug, Potato, on his way to ask if my dog can come play."
Potato waddles up to the door with purpose. He's on a mission. There's an Australian Shepherd inside, and Potato would like to know if said Australian Shepherd is available for a playdate.
The Australian Shepherd appears in the doorway. And here's where things get interesting.
@jayy_payneLiterally hit the jackpot with this new house #blessed #pug #australianshepherd #newhouse
♬ som original - ᵉᵈᵘᵃʳᵈᵒThe caption reads: "Literally hit the jackpot with this new house #blessed"
The comments section had thoughts—so many thoughts. Specifically about the size difference between these two dogs—but not in the way you'd expect.
"Open the door, your dog needs the exercise. Potato is obviously his trainer."
"I saw potato, and then I saw an even larger potato."
"Just 2 potatoes hangin out 🥹"
"If the pug is a potato then the Australian Shepherd is a whole sack of potatoes 😭"
"Bro, let your baby out. He needs the steps 🥹❤️"
The irony here is perfect. A pug—a breed not exactly known for athleticism—named Potato is apparently the fit one. The Australian Shepherd—a breed literally bred for herding and endurance—is giving major couch potato energy.
Potato showed up like a personal trainer ready to get his new neighbor back in shape. The people have spoken: this Australian Shepherd needs those steps.
How Dogs Communicate When They Want to PlayWhat Potato is doing at that door isn't random. According to Kinship, dogs have specific ways of signaling they want to play, and recognizing these signals helps humans understand what their pets are trying to communicate.
The most famous play signal is the play bow—elbows and lower forelegs on the ground, back end up in the air, tail wagging. Dogs also use what's called the "mammalian play face," which looks like a relaxed, open-mouthed smile with lips pulled back sideways.

Other play signals include gently biting a potential playmate's front paw, batting at them with paws (which humans often misinterpret as aggression), rolling over in a specific way near another dog's head, or simply initiating a chase with bouncy, exaggerated movements.
Sometimes dogs skip formal play signals entirely when they're regular playmates—especially if they live together or see each other daily. It's assumed the behavior is playful, so there's no need to explicitly communicate it.

But in Potato's case? He's making a formal introduction. New house. New neighbor. New potential best friend who desperately needs to get outside and move around.
The Australian Shepherd's reaction might say, "I'm comfortable right here," but Potato's persistence suggests this friendship is inevitable.
Welcome to the neighborhood, Potato. Your work here is clearly just beginning.

This Bunny Just Became the World’s Oldest-Living Rabbit—You Won’t Believe His Age
Bunnies are some of the most underrated pets out there. A lot of bunnies don't end up living very long, though: they're often improperly cared for. With proper care, however, these sweet animals can live very long lives!
Take Herbie, for example: this Lionhead was just crowned the world's oldest living rabbit. At 15 years old, Herbie not only took home the trophy, but rumor has it he's also in the running for the world's most handsome rabbit award:
@itvnewsHerbie, a lionhead rabbit from Surrey, has become the world’s oldest living rabbit at 15 years and 83 days, delighting owners with his playful ‘binkies’.#itvnews #bunny🐇 #guinnesworldrecord
♬ original sound - ITV NewsITV News reported that Herbie is a Lionhead rabbit from Surrey, UK. He's 15 and change, which is practically unheard of for a Lionhead: they typically live for a maximum of 10 years. They adopted him from a pet shop in 2010, and he's been living his best life ever since.
According to his parents, he doesn't show too many signs of slowing down: he doesn't do a ton of running or vigorous playing anymore. Other than that, they say he still does his "binkies," or a tiny hop to show that he's happy and content. They take very good care of him.
Related: Smitten Bunny Fetches Mom for the Sweetest 'Love Dance'
Herbie clinched the world record on November 10th, 2025, when he officially made it to 15 years and 82 days old. Now, he's even older than that! Despite being the oldest living rabbit, Herbie does not yet have the world record for the world's oldest rabbit.
That title belongs to a rabbit named Flopsy, who was wild-caught as a baby in 1964 in Australia. Flopsy lived to be 18 years and 10.75 months old. I hope Herbie is able to live that long a life, too!
How Did Herbie the Rabbit Live So Long?Herbie obviously has a very loving home. Not only that: his parents had been caring for rabbits for years before they got Herbie! There's definitely something to be said about experience.
A small Lionhead rabbit close to the camera.Image via Shutterstock / Andreea Mihaela Rosca
Herbie's parents haven't shared their exact secrets to keeping their bunny so happy and healthy, but there are some tricks. In order to maximize a rabbit's lifespan, they need:
- A healthy diet.
- Regular exercise.
- A proper enclosure, kept nice and clean.
- Frequent vet visits.
- Proactive care.
Herbie's parents most likely have a longstanding relationship with a vet who sees small animals, and they're experience. They can recognize signs that something may be off before it gets too bad: rabbits are good at hiding things. Luckily, though, Herbie's parents understand him. Cheers to many more years, Herbie!

Cavapoo Puppy's One-of-a-Kind 'Eye Patch' Has Everyone Obsessed
Puppies are already perfect in every way, but some of them are born with a little extra razzle-dazzle. Whether it's comically large features or a rare color palette, these puppies are guaranteed to brighten anyone's day. Coast, the Cavapoo, is among this elite group, and it's all because of his brown "eye patch" spot that makes him look like a little doggy pirate.

Coast and Willow are 14 months apart, though big sis is a full, luxurious brown color. It's almost as if someone dipped little Coast into Willow's gene pool just enough for that two-toned eye patch! She's still getting used to the idea of having a little puppy brother, but I think the little Cavapoo puppy will win her over soon enough.
@willowandcoastthey’re warming up 🤍🥹 #cavapoo #cavapoosoftiktok #cavapoos #cavapoopuppy #willowandcoast
♬ original sound - Vids - Aesira Why Some Dogs Have Unique MarkingsLike Coast, many puppies are born with some pretty cool and unique markings, all thanks to the perfect combination of pigment genes and how a puppy develops in the womb. With more than 19,000 different genes—including ancient combos that have been around for thousands of years—and only a handful passed down from Mom and Dad determine fur color, even the slightest difference between littermates can look like a one-of-a-kind shade.
The white spotting gene (S locus) is a lack of pigment, which creates white spots, while ticking (T locus) makes small, pigmented, darker spots, like what you see on a Dalmatian. For pups like Coast, pigment distribution is random but exact, meaning it was in the stars during the embryonic stage.
It's been theorized that dogs with unique facial markings may help dogs communicate. So, if you see a pup with a wild pattern near the eyes, it helps enhance their expression toward others (which is pretty amazing). That said, however that cool-looking eye patch came to be, Coast is one adorable boy!
