The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for the area as severe thunderstorms are likely this afternoon and evening.

The Sullivan Police Department made 10 arrests for the week of May 6 through May 12 in the City of Sullivan.

This week’s arrests were:

Police arrested a Cherryville man on May 12 after he allegedly stabbed a victim in the chest at the Cuba city pool and basketball complex.

Loetta F. Thurman, age 81 of Cuba, MO, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. 

Lois K. Schollmeyer, age 101, of Sullivan, MO passed away Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Meramec Nursing Center, Sullivan.


Glenn E. Byers, 64, of Sullivan passed away Friday, May 3, 2019 in Sullivan.

A Broadway Beginnings workshop was held Aug. 9 by Sullivan High School graduate and Tony Award nominee Taylor Louderman. The workshop was held at the SHS Performing Arts Theatre. 

Denny's in Sullivan has joined the Sullivan Area Chamber of Commerce. The restaurant has been open since 2010 at the Flying J Travel Plaza. It is open 24/7.

The fourth annual 5K-DEN on Sept. 9 raised more than 18,000 for three local children.
