The Sullivan Police Department made 16 arrests for the week of September 17 through September 23 in the City of Sullivan.

This week’s arrests were:

A Union man was caught on surveillance breaking into a Villa Ridge home and exiting with a safe that contained money and personal documents.

On Friday, September 14, Sullivan Police Administrative Assistant Mary Beth Stack retired following 33 years with the Sullivan Police Department and three years with City of Sullivan billing depart

Sullivan’s boys and girls cross country teams took second place Thursday at the Steelville Invitational.

Kylee Thomure drove in five runs, Addison Purvis hit her fourth home run and had four RBIs and Sullivan defeated St. Clair 17-2 Tuesday at Bank of Sullivan Ballpark.

Sullivan scored five runs in the first inning Thursday at St. James and never looked back.

Obituaries

Michelle Fowler, age 52, of Sullivan, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at her daughter’s home.

Mason Kirk, age 18, of Sullivan, Missouri passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2018 due to injuries sustained from a motor vehicle accident.

Charles "Ray" Gilliam, died Monday, September 17, 2018, at his  home at the age of 34. He succumbed to a quiet, insidious disease: depression disorder.

A Broadway Beginnings workshop was held Aug. 9 by Sullivan High School graduate and Tony Award nominee Taylor Louderman. The workshop was held at the SHS Performing Arts Theatre. 

Denny's in Sullivan has joined the Sullivan Area Chamber of Commerce. The restaurant has been open since 2010 at the Flying J Travel Plaza. It is open 24/7.

The fourth annual 5K-DEN on Sept. 9 raised more than 18,000 for three local children.
