This Sweet Rottweiler Looks Just Like a Seal Lounging on the Beach
Fewer things are cuter than realizing your dog looks just like another animal. And add in an idyllic beach setting? Well, it's a recipe for something made out of paw-ridise!
TikTok user @jaynjoyyy uses their social media account to share their daily antics with Rottweilers, Jay and Joy. Located in beautiful Bali, the Rotties have pretty much the most ideal setting for digging, swimming, and having the most amazing beach days.
Recently, a video went viral where one half of the pair is loafing on the beach. And he looks just like his cousin, a seal!

Are Rottweilers Friendly Dogs?Often known as gentle giants, Rottweilers are known for being protective, but they are supremely affectionate and friendly dogs. These pups are deeply loving and very attached to their family members, which can lead to some of the protectiveness and guarding of their people.
Rottweilers, like all dogs, benefit from training and making sure they get proper socialization. As natural guardians, they can be great with other pets and small children. They thrive when getting to be a central part of their pack, and it's where they shine.
Investing in proper training and obedience is a great way to instill levels of "friendliness" in your dog. Rewarding good behavior and repetition is key. It also benefits them to expose them to new surroundings and environments (with supervision, of course) to help develop their social skills as a dog.
Like any dog, all Rotties come in different shapes, sizes, and with different personalities. If you're lucky enough maybe you'll also end up with a Rottie who is one part lovebug, one part seal.

This Man's 'How I Became Your Father' Story for His Rescue Dog Is the Internet's New Favorite Episode
Cactus, one of the most popular rescue dogs on the internet, finally decided to ask a question that was on his mind for a long time. He asked his father, Michael Henry Brown, "How did you become my dad?" Brown simply replied, "Come on, I'll explain."
The story, told in the style of How I Met Your Mother, might be even better than the original series.

Brown begins to tell his rescue dog the story of how they became a family — something every pet parent who has adopted a rescue has probably told their pet at least once in their life.
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/lvtdUW-MBrM
A Rough Beginning in the Mojave DesertCactus' story started long before he found a couch to nap on.
According to Brown, the mixed-breed puppy was born in the Mojave Desert alongside several siblings. Life was difficult from the very beginning. The litter became sick, and some of the puppies didn't survive.
"You were the brave one," Brown tells Cactus in the video. "You tried to look out for them."
Thankfully, rescue organization Pups Without Borders found the surviving puppies and brought them to safety. That single act changed everything, even though neither Brown nor Cactus knew it yet.

The Foster Fail That Was Supposed to Last Two WeeksFor every rescue dog, there is a moment when everything changes. For Cactus, that happened in a parking lot.
To this day, Brown remembers the shy puppy sitting in a small pen after a volunteer suggested he go say hello. One week later, Brown returned to the shelter with a clear goal: foster this puppy for two weeks. That was Brown's original plan — but Cactus had other plans.
Initially, Cactus was frightened and unsure of his new surroundings, a common occurrence with rescue dogs. They need time before they feel safe enough to trust people again, especially after a difficult start.
Luckily, Brown didn't rush the process. He built trust one small moment at a time with treats, trips to the beach, visits to the pet store, and more.
When the first two weeks were over, someone else wanted to adopt Cactus. And in that moment, Michael remembered all of the memories from the past weeks and said, "No. Cactus is staying with me forever."
The Dog Who Will Inspire ThousandsToday, Cactus is more than just the frightened puppy that learned to trust Brown. He's an internet sensation, inspiring many people and bringing joy to their hearts — and the comment section proves it.
"That really was a great story. Thank you so much for giving Cactus such a loving home," wrote one viewer. Another added, "I really needed this video today."
What the DNA Test Revealed about Cactus @cactustherescueSince adopting Cactus, I’ve been asked countless times what breed he is—and honestly, I’ve wondered the same thing! At one point, I was convinced he might be part coyote or even dingo. I finally decided to take a DNA test through @Wisdom Panel since their test is the most accurate on the market, and the results completely surprised me! What would you have guessed his breed mix was? #ad
♬ Little Things - Adrián BerenguerCactus has been around for a while, inspiring people, yet one of the most common questions Brown gets is about his breed.
Last year, Brown gave Cactus a DNA test. In a TikTok video, Brown and Cactus revealed the results, showing he was a mix of Great Pyrenees, German shepherd, Australian cattle dog, Chow Chow, and American pit bull terrier.
Nowadays, Cactus and Michael share their stories on social media, with their huge followings eagerly awaiting every new update.

GreenMade Mini Bin 10-Pack, $9.49 at Costco View this post on InstagramSpotted by @costcowonders, who quickly took to Instagram to spread the news, the GreenMade Mini Bin 10-Pack has just started popping up at warehouses in select regions and is wasting no time making waves online. Designed to look identical to the heavy-duty bins you see in most retail home improvement sections, these bins are just as much a solid storage find as they are an adorable novelty piece.
Made of durable plastic, each bin in the set features a black base and yellow snap-shut lid, perfect for organizing small items in drawers, closets, garages and craft rooms alike. Measuring roughly 4.8 inches long, 3.3 inches wide and 2.4 inches tall, each bin is small but mighty, part of what makes them such a versatile bunch.
"These little guys are a hoot," one shopper wrote in response to @costcowonders' post. "How many of these do I need for a one-bedroom apartment," another fan laughed.

All jokes aside, where these bins really shine is when repurposed for your pet's needs. Taking your furball to work for the day? Fill a couple up with kibble in one and treats in another. Need a cute spot to store medication or supplements? These bins have your back. And if you're heading out for the day, their compact size makes them easy to toss in a bag with your pet's other essentials.
Food-safe, easy to clean and nestable for easy and compact storage, these charming little bins can really do it all. But as a quick warning, some online shoppers have reported that the lids don't always lock shut on every container. In which case, a simple hair tie or rubber band can be just the trick you need to help keep the lid secure and in place during travel.
At $10 a pop, this 10-pack hardly breaks the bank while providing a world of creative storage uses at home and on the go. Don't miss your chance to snag them while they're still around, and while you're at it, check out Costco's Gracie Rattan Upholstered Pet Bed and nifty Brentwood Home Brentwoof Cooling Travel Pet Mat for more must-have pet essentials.

Rescued Great Pyrenees Puppy Wakes Up and Sweetly Says 'Hi' to Her Whole New Family
Some puppies are a bit nervous when they meet their forever family for the first time, which makes sense. Not only are they brand new to the world, but they also have to get used to new humans and a new home? That's not easy, even if they're excited for the adventure.
And then, there are those puppies who seem like they've been part of the family forever, and that seems to be the case with this precious Great Pyrenees puppy.
View this post on InstagramGesso's family has been sharing her journey on social media since they moment they met her, and even though they brought her home less than a month ago, she clearly fits right in.
Everyone in the fam decided to have a sleepover with their new pup in the living room, and it seems like she really loved the idea, because in the morning, she ran around the room as soon as she woke up so she could greet everybody individually.
That little tail was just wagging away. She really loves her new humans!
"We did attempt to crate her at bedtime but she was NOT having it which is to be expected, so we let her sleep wherever she wants and she has been a little angel at night," Gesso's new mom wrote in a comment.
She's so social and happy to be there that it's no wonder she wanted to be out there in the middle of everyone, even while she was asleep. What a sweetie.

How to Help a Rescue Puppy Feel at HomeThere's no question that a safe, loving home is the best environment for a puppy, but they might not be totally sold on that idea as soon as they are adopted. It's a new experience, and some puppies might need some time to warm up!
There are a few things you can do to prepare for their arrival to help make them feel at home, though, as Humane World for Animals points out:
- Provide the same food they've been eating so far so it's familiar to them
- Offer them a cozy crate that's big enough for them to get up and turn around in so they have their own space to retreat to
- Make sure they have plenty of toys and a nice bed
- Keep your schedule calm and consistent for the first week so they learn your routine and theirs
There will always be a bit of a transition period when it comes to bringing any new pet into the family, but with any luck at all, soon, they'll be just as happy as Gesso is with her new family.

American Bully Got Caught Begging—Now He Has to Say Grace, and He Has Thoughts About It
He was begging, and he got caught. The consequence of his action was immediate and unexpected. King the American Bully now has to say grace.
The TikTok from @heavenly.kennels lays out the situation in one perfect text overlay: "When you get caught begging so they force you to say grace with them." The caption confirms: "Immediate regret 😂😂"
Meet King. He's built like a bodyguard, with a broad, muscular frame, a blocky head, and a short coat that makes him look like he means business. He does not mean business. He means chicken. Right now, he's holding ‘paws’ through grace like he's been grounded and wearing the most guilty "I promise I was just checking if it was poisoned" face in the history of dinner tables.
King approached the dinner table with a plan ready to hatch. The plan was food. The plan did not account for grace.
@heavenly.kennelsImmediate regret😂😂 #fyp #viral #dogsoftiktok #funnyvideo #americanbully
♬ Saxophones Getting Louder - Viral TrendzHe's there, not making eye contact with anyone, not bowing his head, and definitely not committing to the prayer situation. Just waiting for this to be over so he can get to the part he actually came for.
The comments understood the situation immediately:
"He's like 'I don't know how this works, I just came for the food' 🤣"
His entire internal monologue. 100% Accurate.
"He isn't bowing his head. Apparently, he isn't that hungry. FR 😭"
A fair assessment of his commitment level.

"He said, ' Get me off that damn camera embarrassing me. I ain't signed up for this.'"
That’s his official position. Recognized and noted.
"Ruff Ruff Ruff! I hope the food is enough. Amen"
The dog version. Also, acceptable.
"He said, 'Amen...pass the peas.' 🤣🤣"
King came for the food. He's getting a 30-minute grace period instead. The immediate regret in the caption makes complete sense now.
King came for the food. He got the grace. But here's what every dog parent dealing with a beggar needs to know: the begging wasn't random, and it didn't start at the table.
Why Dogs Beg at the Table—and What Actually Works to Stop ItKing didn't invent begging. But he mastered it. And according to PetMD, that's actually good news because anything a dog learns can be unlearned.
PetMD explains that food is one of the most influential things in a dog's world. Their nose is extraordinary, and the second food is nearby; they're going to go for it. The begging kicks in when a dog figures out that certain behaviors like sticking around and looking sad eventually get them what they want. Every time someone gives in, even just once, that behavior gets locked in tighter.
The fix isn't what most people think it would be. It's not yelling at King for begging. It's diverting his attention and giving him something more productive to do. Teaching King to go to his mat during meals and getting rewarded for staying there is one of the best approaches around. Start with treats every few minutes for staying put, then gradually stretch the time out until he can hold it through the whole meal.
Keeping him busy works great, too. Feeding King at the same time as his family with his food spread across a puzzle toy can give him something to focus on that's actually his. When there's food right in front of his nose, the food on everyone else's plates suddenly gets a lot less interesting.
The ignore approach is trickier than it sounds. PetMD warns that when you start ignoring a dog who's used to getting results, he's going to push harder before he gives up. More whining, louder barking, and more dramatic staring. This is completely normal, and it means the approach is working. Just don't give in at that moment because if you do, he learns that going bigger gets results every time.
Dogs are quick about pattern recognition. If King figured out that food on the plate eventually becomes food for him, he's going to keep showing up for exactly that outcome. The simplest fix of all: never feed a dog from your eating area in the first place.
The grace was said. The food is coming. Eventually.
Oriental Shorthair Kitten Legit Looks Exactly Like Dobby From 'Harry Potter'
There is nothing in this world that are cuter than the high pitched, tiny meows coming from a kitten... unless, of course, that kitten looks like Dobby the elf from Harry Potter, and in that case, he wins.
This adorable baby is an Oriental Shorthair kitten named Larry, and with those big ears and that tiny body, he's definitely house elf material. Although honestly, I think he might be a bit louder than Dobby could ever dream of being...

No word on what he wanted from his human, but after watching the other videos of this little guy on TikTok, I can confirm that he looks just as cute falling asleep as he does when he's awake.
Commenters are absolutely in love with Larry (though it's easy to see why). Along with the Dobby comparisons, others are wondering if this might be a bat instead of a kitten, which I could totally see, especially with those super sharp teeth.
But nope — this is totally a cat, and a very unique one at that.

What Makes Oriental Shorthairs Look So Unique? These cats who often get compared to Dobby (and even actors like Adam Driver) have such a unique look because they were bred this way.
According to the Cat Fanciers' Association (CFA), they have been very intentionally bred to have these qualities, going all the way back to their Siamese cat roots.
And even though their body structure and features are very distinct, as a breed, Oriental Shorthairs are also very diverse. There are more than 600 possible coat color, length, and pattern combinations, so they won't just look different from cats of other breeds — they'll also look quite different from each other!
There are a lot of unique qualities to appreciate about these cats, and not just the way they look. They're also smart, vocal, affectionate cats who will be happy to snuggle with you (and chat at you) as much as you want.
It's the closest any of us are going to get to having our very own house elf!

5 Common Human Foods That Are Surprisingly Good for Your Dog’s Coat, According to Vets
Did you know that your dog's coat and skin are actually good indicators of their overall health and wellness? According to VCA Animal Hospitals, a healthy coat is one that is shiny and smooth, while healthy skin should appear clear and supple, not flaky, bumpy or greasy. While regular grooming is essential for keeping your dog's coat healthy on the outside, nutrition also plays an incredibly important role on the inside.
Proper nutrition will keep your dog's coat shiny and soft, and it turns out that there are actually some common human foods that you can incorporate into your dog's diet to help maintain their coat health. When you supplement your dog's regular food regimen with these human foods, you may help enhance your dog's coat and skin health. Plus, all of the foods are easy pantry or kitchen staples you likely already have on hand anyway.
To find out more about the human foods that are great for a dog's coat health, we spoke with two veterinarians for their expert-approved recommendations. Read on to learn more about which foods are great for a dog's coat and why, as well as how to safely incorporate these human foods into their days without upsetting their tummies or ruining their regular diet.
Our Panel of VetsWe spoke with the following veterinarians to learn more about what human foods your dog can eat for a better, healthier coat:
- Dr. Jordyn Zoul, a Georgia-based veterinarian at Seaside Veterinary Hospital on St. Simons Island and a vet advisor to the pet nutrition and wellness company Spot & Tango.
- Dr. Lisa Weeth, a veterinarian, board-certified veterinary nutritionist and the head of veterinary research at Freshpet.
Switlana S / Shutterstock.com
These are the five human foods you likely already have in your kitchen that are great for your dog's coat health, according to our experts.
1. EggsPhoto by Creab ThePolymath on Unsplash
"Eggs are a great source of protein, vitamins, minerals and long-chain essential fatty acids like the omega-6 fatty acid linoleic acid (LA), which are required in the diet for healthy skin and coat," veterinarian Lisa Weeth says.
Raw eggs are not recommended for consumption, so you'll want to cook the eggs for your pup before serving them up just like you would for yourself.
"Although eggs are safe for dogs to eat, raw eggs can carry bacteria like Salmonella that can make pets and people sick, and feeding raw eggs is not recommended," Dr. Weeth says. "It’s also worth noting that if your dog has a chicken allergy or sensitivity, chicken eggs could also be a trigger."
2. Salmon"Fish (like salmon) is a great source of the omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA," Dr. Weeth says. "These long-chain omega-3 fatty acids are not required in the diet, but increased intakes can help support healthy skin and coat health, reduce allergy reactions, and treating itchy and flaky skin."
3. Fish OilIn addition to eating fish like salmon, taking fish oil supplements is also a great option for improving your dog's coat and skin health. Fish oil also offers other great benefits too, including helping with bone and joint health and cognition.
"This is great for skin and coat, and we think also for cognition and maybe bone/joint health," veterinarian Jordyn Zoul says. "They make plenty of fish oil supplements for dogs, but they can also take the same over-the-counter supplements we do; just ask your veterinarian for the specific kind and dosing for your dog."
Related: 7 Household Noises That Are Making Your Pet Feel Unsafe, According to a Vet
4. OatsPhoto by Łukasz Rawa on Unsplash
Oats are not only a great source of dietary fiber, but they also provide a healthy dose of the essential omega-6 fatty acid linoleic acid (LA) and the essential omega-3 fatty acid, alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), Dr. Weeth says.
"Increased intake of LA and ALA above meeting minimum requirements can improve skin and coat health and reduce shedding in dogs," Dr. Weeth notes.
5. Lean MeatsPhoto by Cristian Guillen on Unsplash
Lean meats, such as chicken or turkey, are also a great choice for your dog's diet. However, you need to make sure to be mindful of the fat content of the meat you serve them, as too much fat may cause stomach upset in dogs.
"Lean meats and proteins are best—think plain chicken or ground turkey," Dr. Zoul says. "Try to limit the fat content of the meats you give your dog, as this can lead to all kinds of gastrointestinal issues."
How to Add These Foods Without Ruining Their DietJulia Kostiuchenko / Shutterstock.com
The best way to incorporate these foods into your dog's diet is to do so slowly. "For any new foods you are introducing to your pet, it is important to gradually transition between diets to prevent any digestive upset," Dr. Weeth says.
Foods That Destroy Coat Health (and Worse)Chendongshan / Shutterstock.com
"Human foods that damage a dog’s coat are ones that interfere with nutrient absorption, don't support optimal hydration, or [are] fed at too high of an amount (i.e., too many treats) and reduce the amount of complete and balanced meals being fed," Dr. Weeth says.
Foods to avoid include those with a high sodium content or sugar, as well as greasy, fried options. Essentially, these function as "empty calories," which are those with little to no essential nutrient content. If you overfeed your dog with these foods, this can result in subclinical nutrient deficiencies over time, and you'll notice the results in the health of your dog.
"This can be seen as dry, dull hair coats, excessive shedding, or fur coming out in clumps or tufts rather than individual hairs, and increased risk of bacterial or yeast overgrowth in ears or around the feet," Dr. Weeth warns. "Ultimately, feeding dogs a clean, balanced, fresh food diet provides optimal amounts of all the essential nutrients needed for good skin and coat health, and supports the immune system's defenses against allergic reactions."
Some human foods—such as eggs, salmon, fish oil, oats and lean meats—can be incorporated into your dog's diet to help improve their coat health. Make sure any new foods you introduce into your dog's diet are introduced slowly to avoid any stomach upset, and be sure to check with your veterinarian if you have any concerns about your pet's overall health and nutrition.

Giant Maine Coon Cat Is So Big, He Makes the Family Great Dane Look Regular-Sized
Cats are known to be relatively low-maintenance and small in size. Most felines tip the scales at 12 pounds or less, making them easy to care for and carry. Yet the Maine Coon is one of the largest breeds of domestic cats and can get surprisingly large in stature.
Winston is a gorgeous gray Maine Coon whose massive proportions could make anyone do a double-take.

♬ Sail - AWOLNATIONIn the TikTok from @thegoodhype, Winston was being held by his dad to show off his mammoth physique.
"What my giant cat looks like next to his siblings," the onscreen text read as the video showed Winston alongside several other family pets.
First, the pretty kitty nuzzled up against a black Great Dane, who actually looked like a regular-sized dog rather than the average 32-inch height and 160-pound giant the breed reaches at adulthood.
Next, the Maine Coon looked compatible with a beautiful white Husky, yet towered over the family black cat, and appeared bigger than his Beagle sibling. The video concluded with Winston comfortably cuddling with the Great Dane.
Followers were floored by the feline fur baby's pure immensity, with some noting the contrast one dog in particular.
"He looked like a normal size when next to the Great Dane," one remarked.
"Excuse me. That's a straight-up Snow Leopard," another pointed out.
"I've never seen a cat make a Great Dane look small before," a follower commented.
"What does their meow sound like? Small caps or all caps?" someone asked.
"So big that he looks like a regular cat next to the Great Dane," a fan noted.
How Big Do Maine Coon Cats Actually Get?Maine Coons are a popular pick of pet parents due to their sweet and affectionate personality. These beautiful cats are known for their impressive size. Males typically weigh up to 25 pounds at adulthood, with females coming in at approximately 18 pounds.

Horse Lets ‘Big Polar Bear’ Great Pyrenees Kiss Her Baby—and Everything Changes When the Cat Shows Up
Mamas do not play when it comes to their babies, no matter their species. If someone they don't approve of gets too close to them, they will do whatever they think is necessary to make sure they're safe. Even if that means really making someone hurt!
Recently, one sweet horse had a foal, and she's finally started letting others around the farm come by to see her. Her favorite visitor is the family's Great Pyrenees... Though, clearly, her least favorite is the cat:

♬ OMG a lion - Rich | Travel Agent | CTJess and Poppy make sure the foal is safe together, but to be honest, Poppy is doing a lot of the heavy lifting here. Jess didn't think the farm cat would have a hard time getting close, but Poppy had other plans.
She has no problem with the Great Pyrenees getting as close as possible. She even lets him give the foal kisses! She's there to supervise, of course, but she trusts that dog with her life! That's how you know he's an excellent livestock guardian. When the cat gets close, she scares him off!

The cat wasn't hurt by what happened (physically, anyway... She definitely bruised his ego). Now, he knows to stay away for the time being. As for the Great Pyrenees, though, he's always welcome, even to help with the feedings:

Great Pyrenees Are Great With FoalsThe Great Pyrenees is one of the most well-known farm breeds out there. When it comes to livestock guardians, these dogs can't be beat! They're fearless, dedicated, and most importantly, kind to all of the animals they protect.
Foals are naturally curious, often wanting to wander around the farm. Their mothers most likely also grew up on the farm, meaning they're familiar with the livestock guardians. The dog's natural instinct to protect, plus Mama's knowledge that the dog is safe, will lead to them feeling safe.
When they're old enough, foals will often even try to play with livestock guardian dogs! It's an important part of socialization and building their bond. Luckily, Poppy's foal and their Great Pyrenees are off to a wonderful start!

Shelter Pit Bull Puppy With the Cutest ‘Dobby Ears’ Does His ‘Best Sit’ in Hopes of Finding a Family

He's currently located at BARC Animal Shelter in Houston. Unfortunately, this shelter is notorious for being under-funded and short-staffed, which often leads to animals speeding along the euthanasia list faster than in other circumstances.

Eli is just a lone puppy, but you can find a lot of different circumstances here, including whole families! One sweet mama Morgana is waiting to be fostered/adopted with her puppies, and it just breaks my heart:
@mad868067/11 Euthanasia List: Morgana A2081048, 2Y, Female, HW- Morgana’s story is one that so many dogs have experienced. Sometimes when a mom comes in with older puppies, it feels like it’s only a matter of time that this happens - the puppies get adopted, and she’s left all by herself for weeks until she’s end up on the euthanasia list. Morgana is seriously just a puppy herself. The shelter has her as 2, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she was younger. She’s very little at 37 pounds and reminds me so very much of my Maya. She’s such a good girl, has nothing but perfect staff notes, has I think like 4 temp tests with males and females and has done very well on every single one. It’s HER TURN to make it out of here. I hope her puppies are living happily with their owners and are thinking of their mama that fought hard for them. I hope they’re telling her story. If you see a video or hear about a shelter dog you really connect with, but can't adopt, there are other things you can do, like:
- Sponsor that dog on the shelter's website.
- Look or reach out to ask for a wish list of things the shelter needs.
- Make a donation.
- Offer to prepay the adoption fee for that dog.
If you live nearby, you can also call ahead and ask if they're accepting donations of things like old blankets, unopened bags of treats or food, or even pillows. Some might even accept gently used toys!

French Bulldog Pups 'Mysteriously Look Like Their Uncle,' and the Evidence Is Hard To Deny
You may have thought soap opera storylines were reserved just for people, but they can definitely happen with dogs as well.
We see that in a new hilarious video capturing viewers' attention, in which we meet two adorable French Bulldogpuppies who look more like their uncle than their dad, which means mom has some 'splaining to do.

♬ original sound - FrenchieGOATAs you can imagine, the comments section was quite interesting.
When it came to the scandalous background of these French Bulldog puppies looking like their uncle, people had quite a few opinions.
"Notice how he’s avoiding eye contact," one viewer pointed out about the French Bulldog uncle, and that is an accurate assessment!
“Are you sure those are mine?” another wrote.
One viewer wrote, "Unc does look a little suspicious though."
Related: Rare Long-Haired French Bulldog Puppy Has the Most Mesmerizing Eyes
How Do Puppies Inherit Their Looks? So, since we don't officially know if the uncle is the father of these French Bulldog puppies, we have to ask how they ended up looking like this.
When dogs reproduce, the parents' genetic materials undergo recombination and segregation, similar to a deck of cards being shuffled, which means every puppy receives a unique set of genes.
This means siblings have unique genetic makeup from each other.
According to EmbarkVet, it could also mean that a puppy may inherit more of the same traits from one of their parents, and in this case, the puppy's uncle may share those traits.
That could explain why these French Bulldog puppies look more like their uncle than their dad.
Another, more unique possibility, is that this litter actually had multiple fathers, which is known as superfecundation.
This can occur when a female is in heat and mates with multiple male dogs.
It can result in puppies with different paternal genetics.
Superfecundation is rare, but it could have happened here (just like on soap operas)!

Orphaned Sandhill Crane Colt Finds New Mom and Dad in Heartwarming Rescue Story
As a South Florida resident, one of my favorite sights is spotting a pair of Sandhill Cranes walking proudly alongside their fluffy young. These devoted parents keep a close watch over their babies, and it’s hard not to smile when you see them strutting across a neighborhood or golf course together.
That’s what makes the thought of an orphaned Sandhill Crane colt so heartbreaking.
After concerned residents noticed the young bird wandering alone for several days, he was brought to Busch Wildlife Sanctuary in Jupiter, Florida. While the colt was healthy, he was still far too young to survive on his own. Wildlife staff asked the community for help and learned about a nearby crane pair who had recently lost one of their own babies.
But would they accept this little one as their own?
You can see it all unfold in this touching June 22 Instagram from @buschwildlife:
View this post on InstagramThe answer came almost immediately.
Within seconds, the tiny colt hurried toward the adult cranes, and they appeared to welcome him without hesitation. Before long, the three were walking across the grass together like a family who had always belonged together. The sanctuary noted that the trio has been spotted together since the introduction and appears to be doing well.

Viewers loved seeing the little colt welcomed into his new family.
Viewer @that_sweet_dee shared, “The Sandhills in my development just had two colts, again this year, and they’re so dang cute and fluffy. Especially when they stretch their little unfeathered chicken wings.”
Another commenter, @joe_lalota, revealed an even deeper connection to the story, writing, “Amazing!! My coworkers and I are the ones who rescued the baby. So happy to see they are doing well!”
Why Are Baby Sandhill Cranes Called Colts? Two Sandhill Crane colts by water.Photo by Joseph Corl on Unsplash
The video also sparked plenty of questions about Sandhill Crane terminology. Viewer @laurenastonart asked, “Colt”?? Like horses? Are the females called fillies?
Busch Wildlife Sanctuary explained, “Nope, there aren’t any specific names for adult male or female Sandhill Cranes, but their babies are called colts!”

The sanctuary also reassured viewers that the adoption wasn’t unusual behavior for the species. Responding to a question about whether the adult cranes would care for the youngster long-term, the organization explained that crane parents are highly protective and are known to adopt orphaned babies, even birds from different species.
It’s a reminder that even in the animal kingdom, family isn’t always about biology. Thanks to a caring community and two devoted crane parents, one orphaned colt now has a home, a family, and a future.
Golden Retriever Puppy's Chubby Little Belly Makes Him Look Just Like a Bunny Rabbit
Puppies take on the appearance of rounded fluffy clouds, teddy bears, and puffy plushie toys. With those floofy coats, paws too big for their bodies, and mini Santa-like bellies, these canine cuties are instant charmers that everyone finds irresistible.
This Golden Retriever puppy is a perfect example of how enchanting these fur babies are, though some suspected this pup was part bunny.

Yet what stood out the most was his adorably round belly protruding from underneath his feathery layers of fur. The puppy's soft, floppy ears looked extra long pasted against the sides of his face, making him look almost rabbit-like.
Follower fell in love with the baby Golden and wondered if he was imitating a fluffy bunny.
"Part bunny part Golden! Just precious," one remarked.
"Just a chunky baby," another commented.
"I'm pretty sure this baby is part bunny," a follower noted.
"Is that a golden rabbit??" someone asked.
"Hello Mr. Plumpy!! a fan posted.
The video ended with the pup standing on all four legs and wagging his tail, proving that he is, in fact, 100% dog.
How Golden Retriever Puppies Change as They Grow UpCapturing those milestones as your Golden Retriever puppy grows is one of the joys of pet parenting. The stages of growth go fast, especially in the first year of life. These pups go through several stages before they hit the two-year mark:
Related: 8 Golden Retriever Puppies Go to the Vet and the Cutest Chaos Results
- Birth to 4 weeks: Pups are totally dependent on their mom for everything including food, cleaning, and socialization. After one to two weeks, a pup's eyes and ears open, first baby teeth come through, and crawling and walking starts.
- 8 to 12 weeks: Puppies can weigh between 8 and 22 pounds at this stage, with females on the lighter side. They eat solid foods at this age, and become more playful, curious, and vocal.
- 4 to 6 months: Growth slows down in this stage. Male puppies typically weigh between 30 and 44 pounds, with females between 30 and 43 pounds. Socialization and training are essential during this time frame.
- 7 to 12 months: A Golden’s legs, nose, and mouth will grow faster than the rest of their body during this phase, making them look a bit lanky. They start testing their limits during this time and can get territorial.
- 12 to 24 months: A Golden Retriever’s personality and temperament are more solidified at this stage, and they've reached full growth. Males usually weigh between 65 and 80 pounds, with females weighing a little less.
Soon, this little Golden Retriever puppy will grow out of his rabbit-like physique, but his family members are probably enjoying every minute of it while it lasts.

If you've ever seen a Ragdoll or a Maine Coon cat and thought to yourself, "There's no way a cat could ever be cuter than this," think again. While those are two of the prettiest cat breeds in existence, when you mix them together, there's no topping that.
Just look at this pretty kitty. He's a Ragdoll-Maine Coon mix, and you can totally see both breeds in him. More importantly, he's one of the fluffiest cats you'll ever lay eyes on:

Why Dogs Form Best Friend Bonds—and What the Science Actually SaysThese two aren't just posing for a photo op together. They genuinely like each other and science has been paying attention to exactly why.
According to research published in Science Magazine dogs have essentially figured out how to tap into the human bonding system. When dogs and their people look into each other's eyes both species produce oxytocin — the exact same hormone that bonds parents to their babies. Brian Hare, a canine cognition expert at Duke University, described it as dogs finding a way into one of the most powerful emotional connections in human biology.
Apparently, the same thing happens between dogs, too. Dogs that spend time together and play together build real emotional connections that go way beyond just sharing a location. The research suggests dogs are wired to read feelings, respond to them and form bonds based on those shared experiences.
Dogs pick their best friends based on compatibility, shared energy, and a positive history together. Tater and Fred, who've spent their days side by side in the back seat of a convertible, aren't just hanging out—they're building something. The oxytocin doesn't lie.
The behaviors that signal a real dog friendship look exactly like what's happening in this video: relaxed body language, choosing to be close, matching energy, and the specific comfort that comes from knowing someone very well.
These two have all of that. The headscarves and sunglasses are just the part that we get to see.

Could Owning a Cat Be Linked to Schizophrenia? Here's What a New Study Found
Cats have long been loved for their companionship, independence and ability to bring comfort to their human families, but a recent study has raised questions about whether there could be a connection between cat ownership and the risk of developing schizophrenia-related disorders.
If you're a cat parent, you may even be wondering things like, "How do you get schizophrenia in the first place?" and "Can having a cat really affect your mental health?" After all, your pets are family, and any news that involves their impact on your well-being is bound to get your attention.
While the headlines may sound alarming at first glance, experts say it's important to take a closer look at what the research actually found—and what it didn't. So before you start second-guessing your kittem, here's what the study says, plus what vets want cat lovers to know.
Related: Scientists Found a Plant That Cats Love Even More Than Catnip
What a New Study Found About Cat Ownership and Schizophrenia Cats may play a bigger role when it comes to people's health than orginally thought.A recent review of research published in Schizophrenia Bulletin examined 17 studies from 11 countries spanning 44 years. Researchers looked at whether exposure to cats was associated with a higher risk of schizophrenia-related disorders and found that people exposed to cats had higher odds of experiencing these outcomes.
However, researchers emphasized that the findings show a relationship between two factors, not a direct cause-and-effect connection.
“This is an interesting study, but it’s very easy for the findings to be overstated,” explains veterinarian Dr. Sarah Wooten. “The research suggests an association between cat exposure and schizophrenia-related disorders, but it doesn’t say that owning a cat causes you to get schizophrenia. ‘Correlation isn’t necessarily causation’ is a good phrase here.”
Overall, schizophrenia is a complex condition influenced by many factors, including genetics, brain development, environment and biology. Experts say that even if cat exposure plays a role, it would likely be one potential risk factor among many rather than a simple explanation for why someone develops the condition.
Why Researchers Are Exploring a Link Between Cats and SchizophreniaOne possible explanation researchers explored involves toxoplasma gondii, a parasite that can infect both cats and humans.
You see, cats are the definitive host for toxoplasma gondii, meaning the parasite can complete its life cycle inside cats and be shed in their feces. Humans can also become infected through other sources, including consuming undercooked meat, drinking contaminated water or coming into contact with contaminated soil.
The parasite has been studied for its potential effects on the brain, including whether it might influence behaviors or neurological conditions. However, scientists haven’t proven that exposure to cats or cat ownership directly causes schizophrenia.
The review also had several limitations. Many of the studies included were observational, meaning researchers looked at patterns among groups of people but couldn’t determine whether one factor directly caused another.
“The studies also varied in how they defined ‘cat exposure,’ whether they looked at childhood or adult exposure, how they measured schizophrenia-related outcomes and how well they adjusted for other risk factors,” Wooten says. “That makes the overall picture less definitive.”
Related: The Simplest Thing You Can Do to Help Your Cat Live Longer, According to Researchers
Do Cats Actually Cause Schizophrenia? While the new review found an association between cat exposure and schizophrenia-related disorders, experts say it did not prove that cats are a main cause of schizophrenia.
Because schizophrenia has many contributing factors, experts say it’s important not to place too much emphasis on one potential association, like having a cat in your home. Therefore, while there is a link between the two, scientists still need more evidence before making a solid conclusions about whether cat ownership or cat exposure ensures that you will definitely get schizophrenia.
Future studies can help researchers better understand questions that remain unanswered about cat parenting being more likley to get schizophrenia , including whether timing of exposure matters, whether childhood exposure differs from adult exposure and whether other factors influence the relationship.
Should Cat Parents Be Worried About This Study? A cat parent holding her furry companion. For people who share their homes with cats, the good news is, experts say there’s no reason to consider giving up your beloved pet as risks are involved when you have any live animal.
“For now, responsible cat ownership remains a safe and healthy choice for the overwhelming majority of people," says Dr. Carly Fox, senior veterinarian at Schwarzman Animal Medical Center.
Fox explains that while cats are the definitive host for toxoplasma gondii, humans can encounter the parasite through several different routes, inot just their furry family member.
“To avoid potential exposure, pet owners should follow hygiene practices that veterinarians already recommend,” she says. “This includes wearing gloves while cleaning litter boxes, cleaning the box daily, not allowing your cat outside to avoid exposure risk and avoiding feeding your cat a raw diet.”
Wooten agrees that basic preventive care is the most practical takeaway for cat owners. “Based on the current evidence, I wouldn’t tell cat parents to be afraid of their cats or to give up their pets,” she says. “That would be an overreaction. The more reasonable takeaway is that cat owners should follow basic parasite-prevention steps, especially if they’re pregnant, immunocompromised or otherwise at higher risk from toxoplasmosis.”
Veterinarians might also recommend routine parasite testing depending on a cat’s lifestyle and health risks. Testing can be especially important for cats who spend time outdoors, hunt, live with other pets or share a home with people who are medically vulnerable.
The Many Benefits of Cat Ownership Experts Want You to RememberWhile researchers continue studying the relationship between cats and human health, experts say it’s important to remember the many positive ways cats enrich people’s lives. “I think it’s important to keep the benefits of the human-animal bond in context,” Wooten says. “Cats provide companionship, routine, emotional comfort and social connection for many people.”
For many cat parents, their feline companions are a source of joy and connection every day. The bond between people and their pets is a meaningful one, and experts say this research shouldn’t overshadow the countless benefits that responsible pet ownership can provide.
“The current evidence shouldn't make you panic,” Wooten says. “It supports sensible hygiene, responsible cat care and better research before making strong claims about mental health risk.”
Ultimately, cat owners and people who are debating if they should adopt a cat, shouldn't let this stop you from enjoying aspecial relationship with a feline companion. By following basic hygiene practices and staying up to date on veterinary care, cat parents can focus on what matters most: the love, companionship, and happiness their pets bring into their lives.

Siamese Cat Loves His Breakfast So Much, He Breaks Into a 'La La' Song
Most pets let you know when they're excited about breakfast.
Some wag. Some pace. Some stare directly into your soul until you acknowledge that the bowl is empty.
This Siamese cat, however, appears to have written a song.
@larabakkerxAt least the food seems worth it to him. #kitten #wiwiwi #ragdollcat #ragdoll
♬ Welp, Didn't Expect That - Yu-Peng Chen & HOYO-MiXIn the video, he stands at his food bowl making some of the happiest little cat noises I have ever heard. They aren't ordinary meows. They sound more like a tiny "la la la" performance delivered between bites, as though breakfast is so good that silence would be disrespectful.
His human was already losing it by 7 a.m., joking in the video caption that the food couldn't possibly be good enough to justify this level of enthusiasm.
The cat strongly disagrees.
Every few seconds, another cheerful little sound comes out. He looks completely focused on his meal, but apparently, he also feels responsible for providing live entertainment. The post caption says that at least the food seems worth it to him, which feels like a very diplomatic way to describe a kitty turning breakfast into musical theater.
One commenter translated the performance as the highest possible compliments to the chef.
"Excellent breakfast. Wonderful texture. Five stars. La la la."
Meanwhile, my dog, Lola, eats in total silence.
No singing. No happy little noises. Not even a polite review when she finishes. Watching this cat made me wonder if I'm doing something wrong. Is the food not inspiring enough? Should there be garnish? Mood lighting? A breakfast playlist?
Or maybe Siamese cats are simply built for commentary.
They already have a reputation for being vocal, and this one clearly understands that every important moment deserves narration. Breakfast isn't just a meal. It's an event. It has a soundtrack.
The kitty isn't asking for food. He already has it. These aren't complaints. They sound like pure, unfiltered satisfaction!
You can almost imagine him waking up, seeing the bowl, and deciding that today's performance will be called "La La La: An Ode to Breakfast."
My favorite pet videos are often the ones that reveal a tiny habit their families probably see every day. To everyone else, it's surprising and hilarious. To the people who live with them, it's just another Tuesday.
Some cats knock things off the counter.
This one provides vocals.
And now I need to know: Does your pet eat in complete silence, or are meals a full production at your house?
How To Understand Your Cat's Different SoundsCats use different sounds to communicate excitement and everything in between. The meaning is usually pretty clear when you look at the sound together with their body language and what's happening around them.
The ASPCA explains that felines may vocalize for many reasons, including greeting people, asking for attention, or communicating a need.
- Listen for patterns.
- Watch their body language.
- Pay attention to sudden changes.
This Siamese cat may not have perfect pitch, but judging by the enthusiasm, breakfast earned a standing ovation.

This Rare Giant Tortie Ragdoll Cat Is So Fluffy, She Looks More Like a Bunny Than a Cat
Have you ever seen a cat so fluffy that the kitty actually looks like a bunny?
Well, if you haven't, it's because you haven't met this giant Tortie Ragdoll cat named Blondie, who is truly the fluffiest feline ever.

Related: 'Diluted' Tortie Ragdoll With Unique Golden 'Face Paint' Is a Furry Feline Goddess
How Rare Are Tortie Ragdoll Cats?As for how rare a Tortie Ragdoll cat is, they're not considered the rarest, but they could definitely be called uncommon.
First of all, nearly all Tortoiseshell Ragdoll cats are female because these kitties are orange and black, and the genes responsible for that pigment are carried on the X chromosome.
Obviously, female cats have two X chromosomes, so they have the potential of inheriting both colors, resulting in that beautiful tortoiseshell pattern.
There is a very small chance you could have a male Tortie Ragdoll, but it would be an extreme case, as they would need to be born with an extra X chromosome, which is very uncommon, and this usually means the kitty is sterile.
Every female Tortie Ragdoll cat also has a completely unique coat, making them quite special.
Why Are Ragdoll Cats So Fluffy?Another even more important question is: Why are Ragdoll cats so fluffy?
The fluffiness is literally part of their genetics.
The breed is genetically predisposed to long, plush, fluffy coats.
However, the gene for this hair is recessive, which means both parents have to carry the gene to guarantee a fluffy kitten.
However, Tortie Ragdolls will not reach their full level of fluffiness until they are at least a year old, and sometimes it can take up to four years!
