Golden Retriever Is Over the Moon After Spotting Friend Who Gives Him Treats

Tue, 03/17/2026 - 8:55am

It's always nice to bump into a friend when you're out for a stroll—even better if that friend has a treat just for you! (For me, that would be a cup of coffee. What's the food or beverage that gets your tail wagging?)

In a hilarious clip, we get to see a gorgeous Golden Retriever who is more than ready to race to catch up with his buddy, who just happens to have his favorite snack in hand! Take a look at this heartwarming video.

Viewers loved and had some funny thoughts to share.

"Thought he was running after the hot shirtless man first, but yes, treats, lol," noted one.

I'll admit, initially, I thought he was chasing the jogger as well!

"They're each other's biggest fan 🥹," another viewer noted.

So true! What a lovely friendship!

"That’s a Costco big bag!!! Freeze-dried yummiesssss," said another fan who is obviously familiar with this favorite treat.

"Golden treats during golden hour 😭🥰," commented another person.

I was thinking the same thing. Just look at that gorgeous sunset!

How Often Should a Dog Have Treats?

It's adorable to see your pet so excited. Just look at that pep in Zebby's step. When you get such a sweet reaction, how can you not want to say, "Here! Take all the treats!?"

Of course, that wouldn't be healthy. So, how many treats should a pup have? According to experts, treats should comprise less than 10% of your dog's diet. That's probably a good rule of thumb for humans, too. And of course, some treats are healthier than others, so take a look at the ingredients.

It's also important to remember that "treat" can mean a lot of things. Rather than always resorting to food, maybe a game of fetch or even a few minutes of belly rubbing can count as a treat your pet will enjoy. This is good to keep in mind if your pet is packing on the pounds or has limited exercise.

Luckily, Zebby is getting a good run in before he digs into that snack! We'd say he's earned it!

Tabby Cat Carries Her Sister’s Collar and It’s Heartbreaking

Tue, 03/17/2026 - 8:20am

Cats may not always show emotions the same way we humans do, but anyone who has shared a home with multiple pets knows how strong their bonds can be. When one animal in a household passes away, the others often notice the absence immediately.

One Tabby cat is showing just how deep that bond can run after losing her sister. You may wanna grab the Kleenex for this one.

@scbassangler

♬ original sound - SCBassAngler

The heartbreaking clip was uploaded to the TikTok account @scbassangler, and it shows a Tabby cat walking slowly through the house with a collar gently held in her mouth.

According to the caption, the collar once belonged to her sister, who passed away several months ago.

Related: Dog’s Grief at His Mom’s Funeral Leaves the Internet Sobbing

“She lost her sister a few months ago. She periodically finds her sister’s old collar and roams the house, missing her.”

As the kitty walks around holding the collar, she lets out long, mournful meows that many viewers said sounded unmistakably like grief.

People in the comments were deeply moved by the video.

“I can literally feel my heart breaking for her,” one viewer wrote.

Another commenter said the sound of the cat crying was difficult to hear.

“The way she’s basically crying, oh my heart.”

Many people recognized the behavior in their own pets.

“Awww, grieving pets are so sad.”

“This is exactly what grief looks and sounds like.”

Others said the cat’s actions show how much animals truly understand loss.

“They mourn just as much as we do.”

One viewer summed up what many people felt while watching the clip.

“That is the most heartbroken meow I’ve ever heard.” Agreed.

How To Help a Grieving Cat Orange Cat paws in human hands.

Image Via: Yanya/Shutterstock

Just like people, cats can grieve the loss of a companion animal. While they may not understand death the way humans do, they often notice when a familiar friend is suddenly gone.

Grieving cats may search the house for their companion, vocalize more than usual, sleep more, or seem withdrawn. Some kitties also become extra clingy with their humans, while others prefer quiet space while they adjust.

Helping a grieving cat usually involves keeping their routine as consistent as possible. Feeding times, play sessions, and daily interactions can help provide comfort during a confusing time.

Extra attention and gentle reassurance can also help, especially if the kitty is seeking comfort from their humans.

In many cases, time slowly helps pets adjust to the absence of their fur friend or sibling. While they may never completely forget their friend, most animals eventually settle back into their normal routines.

And moments like the one in this video remind us that the relationships animals form with each other can be every bit as meaningful as the ones they share with us.

Fluffy Ragdoll Cat 'Supervises' Baby's Tummy Time Like the Best Little Nanny

Tue, 03/17/2026 - 8:10am

Some animal videos are cute. Some are sweet. And then there are the ones that make you stop scrolling, smile instantly, and maybe watch three more times just to soak it in. That is exactly the energy of this adorable clip featuring Hazel, a fluffy Ragdoll cat who appears to have fully accepted her role as household baby supervisor.

The video gives us a quick top-down view of tummy time, but Hazel is what makes the whole moment unforgettable. She is planted right there beside the baby, looking completely focused on the task at hand. No playing around, no wandering off, no distracted cat chaos. Hazel is on duty.

@hazeltheragdoll

she takes her job very seriously 👶🏻 #babyandcat #ragdollcat #cattiktok #ragdollsoftiktok #tummytime

♬ Literally Meow - Trendify

The caption says, “big sister duties include: supervising tummy time,” and honestly, it could not be more accurate. Hazel has the kind of serious expression that makes it look like she clocked in early, reviewed the assignment, and plans to see this session through with total professionalism. The post caption adds, “she takes her job very seriously.👶🏻” Again, yes. Absolutely. This cat is not here to slack off.

What makes the video especially charming is how gentle the whole thing feels. Hazel is not just near the baby. She is clearly engaged, watching closely like she understands that this tiny human is doing something important. There is something incredibly heart-melting about an animal choosing to stay close in moments like this. It feels protective, calm, and full of affection without being over the top.

And then comes the ending, which is almost too much sweetness for one clip. Hazel leans in and gives the baby the tiniest little boops on the nose. It is such a small gesture, but it completely seals the deal. The whole video goes from cute to unforgettable in a second. Those little nose boops feel like Hazel’s official stamp of approval, as if she is saying, yes, good job, tummy time complete.

The comments make it even better. One person wrote, “Just making sure you’re breathing,” which honestly feels like exactly what Hazel would say if she could talk. That is the vibe. She seems equal parts nanny, lifeguard, and very soft security guard.

Part of why this clip works so well is that it is easy to read emotionally. You do not need a long setup or dramatic story. It is just a fluffy cat taking her self-appointed responsibilities very seriously, and a baby getting the gentlest supervision imaginable. In a world full of noisy, chaotic content, this kind of quiet, loving moment stands out. Hazel may be tiny, but she is bringing big caretaker energy.

The Sweetest Bonds Show Up in Small Ways

Hazel’s gentle tummy time supervision is a lovely reminder that connection often shows up in quiet, everyday moments. Pets can become part of a household rhythm in ways that feel comforting and surprisingly intuitive, and those little interactions can mean a lot. When babies and animals are together, the best approach is always calm supervision, safe boundaries, and letting gentle trust build naturally over time.

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, all interactions between babies and pets should be closely supervised so everyone stays safe and comfortable, which makes moments like Hazel’s sweet little check-ins even better to watch.

Hazel really said this tummy time will be monitored, evaluated, and booped with the full authority of the fur department.

Cockatoo’s ‘Spooky Strut’ Has Mom Shaking in Her Boots

Tue, 03/17/2026 - 8:00am

Cockatoos are hilarious, adorable, and amazing pets, but they all have one quality about them: they're a little creepy. A lot of birds are, but Cockatoos in particular can be pretty menacing when they want to be.

Just look at this Cockatoo: during playtime, he pulled out his "spooky strut." I don't know about you, but if this were coming at me in an alleyway, I would definitely feel a little threatened:

@charliejuniorcockatoo

Always plotting even on playtime hours 👀 (I got a warning nibble to the ankles for anyone that cares) 😆 #cockatoo #parrots #funnytok #comedy #foryoupage

♬ Spooky, quiet, scary atmosphere piano songs - Skittlegirl Sound

Charlie Jr. the Cockatoo has a lot of big feelings, and he's lucky to have a family that allows him to feel them openly. Though his mom was the one who wanted him, Charlie much prefers his dad. He's decided she's the Spare Human, and he treats her that way.

Charlie Is a Handful

During this playtime moment, you can see him playing all nicely with his dad... And then he struts over to Mom! You can pretty much see the moment he decides he's going to be a menace. After, he:

  1. Struts over, up onto her leg.
  2. Gets very close to her.
  3. Goes "vampire mode."

Charlie is a 21-year-old rescue Cockatoo. They rescued him a little while ago, and he's fitting into his forever home perfectly. It's not all goblin activities, though! Sometimes, Charlie can be very sweet:

@charliejuniorcockatoo

Dad has gone nightshift ✔️ another successful day of playing the two humans off against each other 👹 #parrotsoftiktok #comedytok #cockatoo #petsoftiktok #foryoupage

♬ som original - Dj Bruxo o Original !!!

Notice how he's being nice to Mom to get to Dad, and then she's pretty much forgotten. That's just the way life goes for us Spare Humans!

Cockatoos Are Known to Bite

One of the main reasons I don't want a Cockatoo in my home is that I don't think I could manage them. Cockatoos need training and consistency to make good pets, which is not something most people can provide to a bird. That's why Cockatoos and parrots in general are surrendered so often.

Cockatoo with their face close to the camera.

Image via Shutterstock / ROHE Creative Studio

Cockatoos are big biters, and their bites really hurt! With a bite force of up to 350PSI, a Cockatoo biting at full force can cause serious harm, so exercising caution around them is always important. They might bite because they're:

  • Angry
  • Annoyed
  • Overtired
  • Scared
  • In pain

Regular interactions will help make sure your Cockatoo stays happy and tame enough to handle. They don't have to love it, but they do have to tolerate it at the very least. Like Charlie, who tolerates his mom just long enough to get to dad!

African Grey Parrot's Sweet Daily Greeting for Mom Is Giving Us the Feels

Tue, 03/17/2026 - 7:55am

Birds are some of the smartest creatures on Earth, and it seems like they're still evolving. Many Parrotspecies are capable of carrying on conversations via their large vocabularies, solving problems like puzzles or complex games, and understanding context clues the way human toddlers can.

The really impressive birds aren't only smart, but they're also loving, devoted companions who enjoy cuddles, and Bill, the African Grey Parrot, tops the list! This sweet boy created a morning routine with Mom that takes "wake-up call" to another level.

@riosrainforest

Bill has suddenly decided this is our new morning routine. The second he realizes I’m waking up he flies to my bed to say goodmorning🥰🌞 #parrotsoftiktok #ParrotTok #AfricanGrey #pov #cuteanimals

♬ Little Life - Robert Gromotka

As we near the official mark of spring, it's time for new beginnings. At 37 years young, Bill suddenly decided he'd change up the morning routine for a more snuggly, cuddly, and lovable start to the day. The darling African Grey Parrot is showing us all that love is a verb and change can happen anytime, for any reason—so just do it!

Related: African Grey Parrot Performs List of Talents Like He's Auditioning for Broadway

This isn't a one-time thing, either. Bill is a man of structure, which means repeating a list of things he enjoys every single day until the new schedule sticks. The rescue Parrot has always been an affectionate fella, and in the two years since he joined his new family, he's only gotten sweeter.

@riosrainforest

Sleepy Bill cuddles 🥰 If you haven’t cuddled a parrot you are missing out on so much sweetness #parrotsoftiktok #parrotlove #africangrey #ParrotTok #parrots

♬ Little Things - Adrián Berenguer Are African Grey Parrots Affectionate?

Bill may have set the bar a little too high for Parrots, but that's what makes him so special. Generally speaking, African Greys *can* be affectionate little lovebugs, but as a whole, they don't show it as much as other birds.

These loyal, highly intelligent, social Parrots form intense, strong bonds with their humans, and their affection of choice is usually through head-scratching, preening, regular vocal interactions, and being with their humans.

As awesome as birds like Bill are, they're not exactly beginner-friendly pets—especially because they can live for up to 80 years. They require 4 to 5 hours of social interaction daily, loads of mental and emotional stimulation (puzzles, activities), and adequate time with their people to thrive. Often becoming "one-person" birds, African Grey Parrots can roast you one minute and do some version of beatboxing the next!

That said, the level of affection depends on history, personality, and environment. Bill is a total doll, and his mom is lucky to have him!

Golden Retriever's Funny Way of 'Rage Baiting' the Cat Is Pure Comedy Gold

Tue, 03/17/2026 - 7:10am

When my dogs cross paths with a cat, it doesn't take much for them to get riled up. They immediately rush toward the feline fur baby in full-on bark mode until the cat lifts a paw or lets out a hiss. Then they basically run for cover. Neither my Dachshund nor my Pug mix tries to prolong the interaction — they immediately get the message to leave the kitty alone.

Apparently, Maple the Golden Retriever doesn't pick up on social cues from her feline brother, Waffles. The canine cutie tries to engage him even when he's clearly telling her to back off.

@thegoldenbreakfastclub

Nothing overstimulates Waffles more than Maple’s love #cats #dogs #pets #siblings #grumpycat

♬ original sound - Waffles and Maple

In the TikTok from @thegoldenbreakfastclub, Maple was trying to get some sort of game going with Waffles, but the pretty kitty wasn't having it. He let Maple know through hisses and paw swipes that he wasn't in the mood for her antics.

"Ways our Golden Retriever accidentally rage baits our cat," the onscreen text read, followed by a montage of animated interactions between the siblings.

First, Maple gyrated her body on the couch in Waffles' direction to get a reaction — and she got one.

Next, the gorgeous Golden followed Waffles around, trailing his every move. Needless to say, the feline got frustrated.

Then, Maple got close to Waffles and looked at him with "too much love". The cat made it clear with more loud meows and paw swats that he wanted to be left alone.

Maple Was Undeterred

Most dogs probably would have given up on getting close to their fur baby sibling, but not Maple. She hovered over Waffles while he tried to nap, sniffed him when he climbed a chair, and made direct eye contact when possible. Maple kept on trying even though Waffles refused to be won over.

Followers got a kick out of the pair and noted the trademark behavior between siblings.

"They are both SOOO dramatic in such different ways!" one pointed out.

"Maple is that sibling that pushes buttons," another remarked.

"I’m sorry but Maple is straight up rage baiting him," a follower posted.

"I love her endless optimism," someone noted of Maple.

The caption summed up the scene best: "Nothing overstimulates Waffles more than Maple’s love."

Golden Retriever Puppy Turns Dad’s Running Shower Into His Own Splash Party

Tue, 03/17/2026 - 6:05am

Over the years, I've learned the hard way that when a puppy suddenly goes quiet, it usually means trouble somewhere. But when F1 journalist Christian Hewgill's Golden Retriever Puppy, Derek, went silent, the surprise waiting in the bathroom turned out to be pretty adorable.

After Hewgill's fiancé briefly left the shower running to warm up and grab a towel, Derek decided the open invitation was too good to pass up. The curious pup hopped right in and turned the stream into his very own splash zone. And the cuteness does not disappoint.

Check out the moment of wholesome puppy joy in this Instagram from @christian_hewgill on March 10:

View this post on Instagram

On the bright side, Derek clearly doesn't have any issues with bath time. The happy little dance he does while trying to catch the shower stream makes it nearly impossible not to smile.

And as far as puppy mischief goes, this one really isn't too bad. At least Derek didn't sneak outside to roll in the mud first thing in the morning. There's always a bright side, right?

Related: Golden Retriever’s Splash-Tastic Water Bowl Romp Steals the Show

Derek wasted no time stealing hearts in the comments.

@mirandaduplissey summed up what many others were thinking: "That's his shower now. Wait your turn."

@the_dawn_treader joked, "I've never seen a self-bathing dog before. What a good boy!"

@lauraheibs added, "I love him so much. What an icon."

If you love Derek's playful puppy energy, you can also watch him having a slightly less successful moment with the office trash bin in this March 11 Instagram:

View this post on Instagram Golden Retrievers Are Natural Water Dogs

According to the American Kennel ClubGolden Retrievers were originally bred as sporting dogs to retrieve waterfowl for hunters, which meant swimming through lakes and wetlands to bring birds back to their handlers. Because of that background, many Goldens naturally take to water, whether it's a lake, a backyard pool, or even a running shower.

That instinct can show up early in puppyhood when curiosity takes over. In Derek's case, it simply turned into a very enthusiastic shower break.

And if he's this excited about bath time now, I have a feeling his family won't have much trouble getting him clean as he grows up.

Aldi’s $6 Pet Essential Is a Tasty Way to Boost Daily Dental Care

Mon, 03/16/2026 - 9:36pm

When it comes to oral care, our furry friends need all the help they can get. And until those four-legged cuties learn to brush their own teeth, it’s up to us to make sure they have the freshest breath on the block.

Now sure, there are days when even we slip and miss a step in our own routines, but it’s extra important that we take the time each day to keep our pets’ teeth clean. Thankfully, your local Aldi is stocking a crucial step in any daily oral care routine: Pure Being Premium Molded Dental Chews. Retailing for just $6 a bag—with small, medium and large varieties available—it’s one of the easiest ways to add an extra layer of defense against mouth bacteria.

Pure Being Premium Molded Dental Chews, $5.99 at Aldi Pure Being Premium Molded Dental Chews for Dogs, Mini/Small

Aldi

Hitting shelves Wednesday, March 18, Pure Being Premium Molded Dental Chews for Dogs are similar to the big-name options you’re used to seeing, just at a fraction of the price. These tasty green sticks are made with high-quality ingredients that support a healthy, balanced diet, while their rugged exterior works like a toothbrush, helping scrape away tartar buildup as your pup chews.

Formulated with a focus on quality and nutrition, these chews offer a reliable option for pet owners looking to support their dog’s daily routine without overspending. Shoppers can pick up 6.3-ounce bags for $5.99, with small, medium and large options available to suit a range of breeds and sizes.

The mini/small bag includes 22 chews for dogs weighing 5 to 20 pounds, the medium bag includes 10 chews for dogs 20 to 50 pounds and the large bag includes four chews for dogs 50 pounds and up. Each one helps fight tartar buildup and bacteria while also serving as a good source of protein to support fresh breath. Even better, they’re also grain-free and made in the US of A.

Why a Vet Says Dental Chews Are a Must for Dogs

Recently, veterinarian Michael “Dr. T” Tokiwa shared just how important dental chews can be for supporting your dog’s oral care routine.

“My concern is that bacteria can cause infection and get into the bloodstream,” Dr. T tells viewers in a YouTube video. “ It then flows from the mouth to vital organs like the kidneys, heart, and liver.”

Dr. T also notes that by age three, 75 to 80 percent of pets have some form of moderate dental disease, a completely preventable condition. In fact, it’s not unusual for pets with kidney issues to also have poor dental health.

Related: Dollar General's 125-Piece $10 Lego Set Is Perfect for Little Pet Caretakers

To combat these risks, Dr. T suggests brushing your dog’s teeth after each meal using a two-step technique: first with a toothbrush and a generous amount of enzyme-based toothpaste, then following up with a microfiber rag or dental finger wipes. This two-pronged approach helps keep bacteria at bay, freshens breath, and protects overall health.

But the step that keeps your furry friend happiest? Including a dental chew once a day. It’s a simple, effective way to support your pup’s teeth, freshen their breath and add a little reward to their daily routine—making oral care something both you and your dog can enjoy.

If you’re looking for a new way to elevate your pup’s oral care routine, these dental chews are worth a try. Not only are they budget-friendly, but they also pack healthy ingredients, essential nutrients and a protein-rich, bacteria-fighting snack your dog will go nuts for. Snag a bag when they hit shelves on March 18, and while you’re there, check out Aldi’s adorable $7 entryway mat and equally cute $8 plush toy for even more must-have pet essentials.

Nighttime Routine of 9 Dachshunds and 1 Great Dane in Matching Cow PJs Will Make Your Heart Swell

Mon, 03/16/2026 - 9:20pm

If you thought the morning routine of a woman and her nine Dachshunds, a Great Dane, a Puggle, and a cat was crazy, you ain't seen nothing yet.

Believe it or not, the nighttime routine of this crew may be even more insane, and we are loving every minute of it.

First of all, the video from the account @yunabugs opens with all the dogs in their mom's bed in matching cow pajamas.

Yes, you heard me: cow pajamas. And this includes Harley, the Great Dane and the newest addition to the group, wearing a cow hat (as they may not make cow pajamas in her size).

Then the video goes back in time to how this brood winds down for the night, which starts with dinner.

Mom gets out all their bowls, and the Weens look up longingly from the floor. Harley, of course, is taller than the counter, so she has the perfect view of the dinner process.

Once all the Weens get their food as well as Harley and the cat, they all devour their dinners in a perfectly assembly line (well, the cat is up on the counter because she is special).

It is a sight to see!

Watch 9 Dachshunds and a Great Dane Brush Their Teeth and Get Into Bed

After dinner, they all head into the bathroom to watch Mom do her nighttime face routine. Must be weird to have such a big audience for that!

Now it is time for the dogs to brush their teeth. Somehow, this woman manages to brush the teeth of all the dogs (though you wonder if she has the patience to do this every night, but even once a week is impressive).

@yunabugs

Don’t mind Penny’s stick 🪾

♬ original sound - The Weens

Poor Tubby, the Dachshund, doesn't have too many teeth left after she had them pulled recently, but her diligent mom explained that she still brushes the ones she does have.

Then it is into her bed with all the dogs, and she throws some toys in for them to chew on before bed so she can do a little work.

But now it's officially time for bed, so away go the toys, and the Weens are lined up and tucked in under the covers (including wire-haired Einstein, who has a tennis ball in her mouth because she always has to be different!)

Harley sleeps at the foot of the bed because, well, she is huge.

With all of them in the bed, there is hardly any room for their mom, much less Harley, but luckily in another video, their mom revealed she is building them bunk beds!

Now bedtime will be even crazier!

Should I paint it?! 🤔

Black Kitten Cuddling With Lookalike 'Foster Daughter' Is the Cutest Coal-Colored Couple

Mon, 03/16/2026 - 8:55pm

There are way too many Black Cats in the world to count, but the gene is so common that 22 different cat breeds are born with solid black coats. Despite their reputation for being harbingers of bad luck (which is a myth, BTW), these kitties can be the sweetest, funniest, downright amazing companions anyone could have. When you put two of them together, it's like an explosion of inky perfection.

Baby Corn is the foster dad of the moment—of the last 11 months, actually—and it goes far beyond becoming one of the internet's most beloved stars. This coal-colored cat and his doppelgänger daughter, Guppy, could NOT be more precious, and they even have an identical stuffie to round things out!

This is the kind of good news we all need right now: Baby Corn cuddling baby Guppy all day, every day, with a lookalike stuffie who makes the whole scene feel like a Where's Waldo puzzle!

The web's favorite wobbly feline is a foster dad to four Black Kittens, and each of them thinks they're the literal cat's meow. They don't see his differences, only how much he loves them—and I think the feeling's mutual!

Corn is one of the sweetest kitties who's ever wobbled the earth, but now that he has this important role as a mentor and someone Guppy looks up to, he somehow transcends what the word "cute" even means.

Watching the duo together is enough to give me kitten fever, but only if it's a baby like Guppy and only if she comes with a baby like Corn!

@whiskstowhiskers

Guppy is a huge fan of Baby Corn and is starting to take after her foster papa. At this point, their ears are almost the same size and her tail is growing faster than she is. Guppy is about 6 weeks old and is 400 grams, which is about the weight of a standard 3-4 week old kitten. Baby Corn was about 12 weeks old when he hit 400 grams. So while Guppy is small, Baby Corn was microscopic. #babycorncat #guppycat #cerebellarhypoplasia #wobblycat #kitten

As Corn's mom wrote in a follow-up post, Corn was born to be a single foster dad. But the day will one day come for them to find new homes.

"I've been fostering for over 12 years, and while my cats have only had a passing curiosity in the foster kittens, Baby Corn is one of the most engaged foster dads around, and all the kittens are lucky to have him. Can't believe he turns 1 next week!" she wrote.

The itty-bitty foster kitties will likely be up for adoption soon. In the meantime, you can see the available cats via Meow Parlour, NCY's first cat cafe, to find your very own version of Corn and/or his littles!

English Bulldog Mix Looks Exactly Like a Walking Gummy Bear

Mon, 03/16/2026 - 8:20pm

English Bulldog mixes are already known for their squishy little faces and chonky little bodies, but one rescue pup is winning the internet over for a completely different reason. A dog named Penelope has a habit that makes her look less like a dog and more like a tiny walking gummy bear.

And once you see it, you truly cannot unsee it.

i’m obsessed with her #fyp #rescue #rescuedog #rescuedogsoftiktok #bulldog

The precious video shared by @brittany_rescues shows the gray-and-white English Bulldog mix standing upright on her hind legs in the middle of the room. With her round little body and tiny front paws held up in the air, Penelope genuinely looks like an actual gummy bear that wandered out of a candy aisle.

In the background, her dog mom is asking her in a high-pitched voice if Penelope missed her because she missed her.

Penelope does not answer verbally, but her stance says everything.

Viewers immediately fell in love with the oddly perfect shape of this dog.

“She is just so perfectly hug-shaped,” one person wrote.

Another commenter summed it up in three words.

“Literal teddy bear.”

Others were overwhelmed by the cuteness.

“OMG, she gives me so much cuteness aggression.”

Some viewers were convinced Penelope might not actually be a dog at all.

“That is clearly a sentient teddy bear.”

Another person joked that they already had an emotional attachment to the pup.

“I have never seen her before, but I have missed her so much.”

The comment section quickly turned into a full appreciation thread for Penelope’s very specific gummy bear energy.

“She is the cutest thing ever. I can’t handle this. We are all obsessed.”

“I love her shape.”

One viewer may have taken things a little too far.

“I’d actually give my soul for that dog.”

Another person offered what might be the most accurate description of all.

“Cutest meatloaf I've ever seen.”

And of course, multiple people noticed the obvious comparison.

“She’s literally a gummy bear.”

Penelope’s life was not always filled with cuddles and gummy bear comparisons. In another clip, her dog mom shared more about the rescue pup’s past and how far she has come. Penelope was adopted as a stray from a shelter. Staff there believed she might have been abandoned, and her dog mom suspects she was dumped because of how sick she was when she arrived.

In fact, Penelope was so unwell that the shelter originally thought she might be a senior dog. It turned out she was actually only about 3 years old. She's just a baby!

Her new family’s first few days with her were difficult. Penelope had runny eyes, a constant cough, and slept almost constantly while her body tried to recover.

Her dog mom also believes Penelope may have spent much of her previous life in a crate, which made adjusting to a home environment a big change.

But with patience, care, and love, Penelope slowly began to heal.

Today she zooms around the house, makes adorable little dinosaur sounds when she barks, and has developed a full-blown obsession with toys. Her dog mom describes her as “just such a goofy little dog,” and it's easy to see how loved she is.

This Is Why Rescue Dogs Are the Best Rescue dog at a shelter.

Stories like Penelope’s are a powerful reminder of how strong rescue dogs can be when they finally find a safe and loving home. Many dogs in shelters have difficult histories, but with patience and kindness, they often transform into the most loyal and joyful companions imaginable.

If you are considering adding a dog to your family, visiting your local humane society or animal shelter is a wonderful place to start. Your own soul dog may be waiting there right now, ready to turn into a goofy little gummy bear the moment they realize they are finally home.

Mini Dachshund Puppy Learning To Give Kisses Gets More Excited With Every Single One

Mon, 03/16/2026 - 7:55pm

Teaching puppies new tricks is always fun, but sometimes they become even more enthusiastic about the lesson than their parents expect, and it adds an extra level to how incredibly cute watching dogs learn is. For this tiny Dachshund, learning to give kisses feels like discovering the best game ever invented.

In this video, a Miniature Dachshund wiggles her whole body with excitement as she’s practicing her new skill, and she’s so proud of herself for mastering such an important skill. Take a look!

On March 6, TikTok user Darcy and Beth (@darcyandb) shared a video of a small Mini Dachshund named Darcy who has the cutest face and a personality to match, which makes it easy to fall in love with her no matter which clip you’re watching. But this clip is extra adorable.

In this clip, Darcy is learning a new trick that her mom calls "the cutest trick," and she might be absolutely right. She's teaching Darcy to love kisses, and each time she gets one in this video, the tiny, adorable puppy falls deeper and deeper in love with the affection. Her mom teaching her "how to be a lover girl" so she's not "emotionally avoidant" is the cutest, sweetest thing.

In the comments, hundreds of people agreed and were happy to share their thoughts and to cheer on Darcy.

One person wrote, "I taught my dog to give hugs. It's the cutest thing ever."

Another shared, "Her name reminds me of Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice, such a cutie."

Someone else added, "Unlimited puppy kisses. You guys are so cute. I hope you have the most joyous years together."

Other comments included, "Good girl, sausage. I'm dying," "Not to be dramatic, but I would die for her," "OMG, I've always wanted to name a Dachshund sausage," "Did she get her cheese?" "Aww, love her," and "She's such a cutie! I can't."

Mini Dachshunds Have Really Cute Personalities

There is no question that Darcy is one of the cutest little pups we've seen in a while, and her kind personality is what we'd expect from a Mini Dachshund, according to the experts.

The American Kennel Club (AKC) describes Dachshunds as "curious, friendly, [and] spunky," and notes that their personality is an "ever-alert expression, and bold, vivacious." It sounds like these dogs are a lot of fun, and that's what we see with Darcy and other Dachshunds, too.

The AKC also notes that these pups are smart and brave, and adds that, with their unique look, it's no surprise they're among the most-loved dog breeds. And Darcy is not just cute, but that playful personality shines right through in all her videos.

Golden Retriever's Unbridled Excitement at Seeing His Friend Is a Real 'Treat'

Mon, 03/16/2026 - 7:22pm

Much like a dinner bell, the shaking of a bag of treats from down the block was all Zebby the Golden Retriever needed to hear. In this wholesome TikTok, the eager pup immediately begins pulling his human toward the sound of food – and his favorite neighbor/snack supplier.

@zebbythegolden

POV my golden retriever when he sees his friend who gives him treats on our walk... summoning him with the shaking of the bag 🤣🤣🤣 #goldenretriever #dogsoftiktok #funnydog #dogs

♬ EVERLASTING LOVE - GROWS

Zebby lunges down the sidewalk, his tail wagging wildly and dragging his young handler with him. When he finally reaches his friend with the goods, the joyful Golden jumps up with two paws on the ledge, his tail still in overdrive. Zebby glances back at the camera with a look of absolute delight before catching several treats thrown to him in midair. Personally, I couldn't help but smile the entire time I watched this video; it's so sweet.

"Look at that big head!! I would never stop kissing him! What a cutie!" commented one enamored viewer.

"I would give him my entire pantry," agreed another. Indeed. Whatever you want, Zebby. Take it all!

It's an idyllic scene and a beautiful slice of life that every dog should be lucky enough to experience.

Related: Huge Mastiffs Train Tiny Grandma to Pay the 'Cheese Tax,' and the Video Is Too Cute to Resist

It's clear from this interaction that Zebby has been (happily) well-trained by his neighbor in a version of Pavlovian conditioning. The familiar crinkle of a treat bag replaces the original ringing bell, but the result is the same: food!

It's also the fastest way to become a dog's BFF. Providing treats often aligns with showing love, affection, and praise – all forms of highly desirable positive reinforcement. Lest we think a dog like Zebby is overjoyed to see us, it's mostly about the food. We are simply bonus delivery systems for edible happiness. Similar to the psychology behind Pavlov's response, there's a biological reason treats are so important to dogs.

Dogs evolved from wild canines that relied on high-energy foods to fuel hunting and survival, so their brains are naturally wired to love calorie-rich rewards. When a dog eats something tasty, their brain releases dopamine, the same “feel-good” chemical that makes humans feel happy and satisfied. That burst of dopamine helps reinforce the idea that treats equal something good. Over time, that connection helps strengthen the bond between dogs and their humans, turning treat time into a small moment of shared joy.

There’s also the excitement of novelty. Dogs experience the world largely through smell and taste, so a new flavor, texture, or scent can feel like a mini adventure. In other words, when your dog gets excited about a treat, it’s not just hunger talking — it’s instinct, brain chemistry, and a little bit of love all rolled into one wagging tail.

Cunning Tabby Cat Revisits Old Plot To 'Disappear' Sibling Like a True Mastermind

Mon, 03/16/2026 - 6:55pm

If I've said it once, I've said it a million times: Cats are way too smart for their own good. When they're not studying and taking mental notes on how to get the things they want, these adorable yet suspicious little cuties are plotting something. We may never understand what goes through their minds, but it's very rarely anything good!

Milo, the Tabby cat, is the best, most on-point example of what level of intelligence I'm talking about. This isn't your average curious kitty. Milo is the Tony Soprano of his house, and based on how he handles things with his fur siblings, will one day take over the world.

@mrmilothechonk

I thought he would have forgotten he could do this and I didn’t have to worry about it anymore but he proved me wrong 😂 #foryou #foryoupage #lol #catsoftiktok #cats

♬ Peer Gynt "In the Hall of the Mountain King"(1480595) - 314P

Seeing this video pop up on my timeline cements my initial thoughts about Milo. We should be scared of what this very smart boy is capable of, whether it's demanding Mom turn on his heated bed or tricking the Golden Retriever into the closet!

If this is your first time, Milo tricking sister Poppy into the wicker chest is an old plot he's done a few times in the past.

The fact that this menacing cat ruminated on ways to get rid of Poppy (again) and chose one of his most iconic tricks (again) shows he's more complex than we're ready to understand! Poppy falling for it again was not on my 2026 Bingo card, but thankfully, Mom caught on quicker this time around and set her free.

Related: Toothless Tabby Cat With 'Fishbowl Eyes' Is the Prettiest Princess in All the Land

I want to give Poppy a pep talk so she knows not to trust her evil genius cat brother. Milo sure looks cute, but it's a facade meant to distract from whatever he's planning. I wish this were all a dramatic take on a seriously diabolical feline, but there are numerous posts showing his many plots to get his way.

For instance, Dad was gone for one night, and in that time, Milo stepped up as the man of the house and banned him from ever returning to the bed.

@mrmilothechonk

I guess he doesn’t want to share the bed anymore 😅 but don’t worry, the spare comes back to bed a little later once Milo is in a deep sleep 😂 #foryou #foryoupage #cats #catsoftiktok #viral

♬ Carmen Habanera, classical opera(1283412) - perfectpanda How Smart Are Cats?

Anyone who's ever had a cat knows they're smart. They may not be Milo-level smart, but some of them come close.

Experts suggest these really intelligent and mystifying creatures have double the neurons as dogs and excel at problem-solving, object permanence, and memory. They observe, learn through association, and use whatever they can to manipulate their environment (us!) into doing whatever it is they're after.

You might compare them to a 2-year-old human toddler, but Milo? He's a Harvard graduate. Never turn your back on that one!

Walmart’s 21-Piece Interactive Cat Toy Set Is Only $10 and Comes in 9 Colors

Mon, 03/16/2026 - 6:25pm

Parade Pets aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

Can you blame a cat for being lazy? We all deserve rest, especially if we can get comfortable. Of all the great feelings in this world, getting cozy for a quick power nap is hard to beat.

But, prolonged laziness is less than ideal. At some point, you have to get up and do something, anything, to stay active. Go for a walk! Hit the gym. We as humans have free will. However, cats can’t exactly jump on the squat machine or start running on the treadmill.

Fortunately, there is a way to get your pet moving without a gym membership. Walmart has the Semfri 21-piece cat toy set on sale for nearly 50% off, with its retail price dropping from $24 to as low as $10-12.

The interactive set comes in nine (9) colors and includes a collapsible tunnel, teaser wand, feather toy, fluffy mouse, and crinkle balls.

This 21-piece cat toy set has a 4.6-star rating (out of 5.0) on Walmart's website. Over 500 shoppers have left a review, with 79% feeling the set was worthy of a perfect rating.

Many of the reviews pointed out the giant tunnel, with some saying that their cats were initially hesitant to try it before falling in love. Others said that older cats enjoyed the playset despite their age.

What Do Past Shoppers Say?
  • “For $11, I more than got my money’s worth. It’s made well and seems to withstand a lot of abuse.”
  • “I purchased this for my 11-year-old cat. She had hours of fun each day playing with these toys. Everything was very well made and it was a great price point.”

The Bottom Line: Your cat is almost certainly not going to follow you on a five-mile walk. But why not make the compromise and let them burn some energy walking through the tunnel? The Semfri 21-piece toy set should check off plenty of boxes for pet parents, and the price alone justifies the purchase.
