Beloved Rock Album Is Climbing the Charts for the First Time Since Singer's Death

Tue, 06/09/2026 - 8:39pm

Just months after the death of frontman Brad Arnold, 3 Doors Down's breakthrough album is finding new life on a Billboard chart it had never reached before.

3 Doors Down's debut album The Better Life has entered Billboard's Hard Rock Albums chart for the first time, more than 26 years after its original release and four months, almost to the day, after Arnold's death.

Released in February 2000, The Better Life helped launch the Mississippi band into the mainstream and established 3 Doors Down as one of the defining rock acts of the early 2000s. While the album previously reached No. 7 on the Billboard 200 and went on to earn seven-times platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America, it had never appeared on Billboard's Hard Rock Albums chart until now.

The renewed interest comes after Arnold died on Feb. 7, 2026, following a battle with Stage IV clear cell renal cell carcinoma, a form of kidney cancer that had spread to his lungs. He was 47.

Arnold first revealed his diagnosis in May 2025, announcing that 3 Doors Down would be canceling its planned summer tour. In a video shared with fans at the time, he acknowledged the seriousness of the illness but said he was not afraid, citing his Christian faith and asking supporters to keep him in their prayers.

The singer was one of the band's three founding members and helped write many of its biggest hits. He famously wrote "Kryptonite," the song that launched 3 Doors Down to stardom, while sitting in a high school math class at age 15.

That song became the breakthrough single from The Better Life, peaking at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album also produced hits including "Loser," "Duck and Run" and "Be Like That," helping it become one of the best-selling rock albums of its era.

The album's latest chart appearance is a reminder of the impact Arnold and 3 Doors Down had on a generation of rock fans. More than two decades after its release, and months after the loss of the voice that helped define it, The Better Life is still finding new listeners and reaching new milestones.

Today, Chris Henderson is the only member of the album's original lineup who remains with the band. Arnold, guitarist Matt Roberts and bassist Todd Harrell were all part of the group's classic lineup that turned The Better Life into a multi-platinum success.

Simon Helberg Reveals How He Really Feels About the 'Big Bang Theory' Ending

Tue, 06/09/2026 - 8:32pm

Actor Simon Helberg is reflecting on his time playing astronaut Howard Wolowitz on the beloved CBSsitcomThe Big Bang Theory.

During the June 9 episode of fellow actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson's podcast, Dinner's on Me, Helberg was asked if he would have liked the show to have continued, instead of ending following its 12th season in 2019.

"No, I felt very, very content ending at that point. And it was sort of a natural ending too, in the sense that we weren't renewed, like, we weren't picked up. It was only as the season ended that they started even talking about more. But they had never talked to us, so it was a little bit funny, in that sense," said the 45-year-old actor.

He clarified that he sometimes does think that perhaps he and his castmates should "have just done more" of the show. Helberg then noted that The Big Bang Theory, co-created by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady, began airing in 2007.

"Time is such a weird, ephemeral thing. And I'm, like, as you get older, you're like, 'Jesus Christ, it's already been, like, our show aired 20 years ago.' Big Bang aired almost 20 years ago," said the actor in the June 2026 interview.

Simon Helberg Shared His Thoughts About the Earlier Episodes of 'The Big Bang Theory'

During a May 2026 interview onThe Big Bang Theory Podcast, Helberg discussed Howard's character arc from making inappropriate comments toward women to becoming a loving husband and father. He shared that he believes that show's earlier seasons haven't "aged well." In addition, the actor said he's encouraged his daughter, Adeline, whom he shares with his wife, Jocelyn Towne, to only watch the show after Howard is established in his relationship with Bernadette (Melissa Rauch).

"Sometimes my daughter will have on an episode from season 2 or 1, and there's some racy stuff there. But, so I'm like, 'Oh, like you should watch a later one, like, once Howard quiets down a little, and he meets a woman.' And there's a great influence that the women have on that, they really cut through the sleaze," said Helberg on the podcast.

Walmart's 'Powerful' Electric Cooler Is Nearly 50% Off, and It's Perfect for Summer Trips

Tue, 06/09/2026 - 8:30pm

Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

Packing a cooler for summer plans always sounds easy until the ice melts, the snacks get soggy, and the drinks aren’t cold enough. If you’ve been looking for a better way to keep food and drinks chilled, Walmart is currently running a flash deal on the Simzlife 12-Volt Car Refrigerator. The 0.35-cubic-foot size is now just $99, down from $190, but the 0.64-cubic-foot size is the better deal at $117, down from $230. For only about $18 more, you get nearly double the capacity, which makes it the one to grab if you plan to use it for more than a few drinks.

The portable refrigerator has a temperature range of negative 4 to 68 degrees Fahrenheit, which means it can keep drinks cold, groceries chilled, or even work as a small freezer. It comes with a car power cord and a home outlet adapter, so you can plug it into a vehicle or use it indoors before heading out. It also has a built-in handle, a movable partition to separate items, and two modes: max and fast cooling.

If you’re tired of your food and drinks dripping everywhere as soon as you pull them out of the cooler, this car fridge will solve that problem instantly. Since it plugs in, it can keep working as long as it has power, rather than slowly warming up as the ice melts and causing a mess.

One shopper said it’s “well made and thoughtfully designed,” calling out the sturdy handle, roomy capacity, and how it’s “much better than using ice.” Another described it as a “compact yet powerful solution for keeping food and drinks perfectly chilled,” while a third reviewer called it a “great little car fridge for travel and camping,” adding that it “runs fairly quietly.”

This is a great find for anyone who spends a lot of time in the car during the summer. It can help keep water bottles cold during long drives, store snacks for beach or pool days, and hold picnic food without needing ice packs. And since it works with both car and home power sources, you can chill it before you leave and then plug it in once you’re on the road.

If you want the lowest price, the 0.35-cubic-foot Simzlife 12-Volt Car Refrigerator is a great under-$100 option. But if you have room in your budget, the 0.64-cubic-foot size is the better buy, since it offers more space for just a small price increase. Whichever option you’re leaning toward, be sure to snag it soon while the flash deal is still live at Walmart.

How Much Are Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Paying for Reported Madison Square Garden Wedding?

Tue, 06/09/2026 - 8:22pm

Taylor Swiftmay be one of the biggest stars on the planet, but according to a new report, even she isn't getting a discount when it comes to her reported wedding plans.

TMZ reported on Tuesday, June 9 that Swift and Travis Kelce are paying full price for their rumored Madison Square Garden wedding celebration, with costs allegedly climbing well into the millions. Sources told the outlet that the couple has reportedly secured the iconic New York City venue for at least three days surrounding the event—one day for setup, one for the ceremony itself, and another for breakdown.

The reported celebration is said to be scheduled around July 3, with insiders claiming that more than 1,000 guests are expected to attend.

The singer has performed eight sold-out shows at the venue throughout her career, but TMZ reports that because Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp. is a publicly traded company, complimentary use of the space was out of the question for the songstress.

According to the report, the additional time booked at the venue suggests the couple may be planning something particularly elaborate, but specific details remain under wraps.

Privacy is obviously a major priority, too. TMZ claims that invitations weren't mailed traditionally, with guests instead being contacted directly via phone calls and text messages

The latest wedding speculation comes just weeks after Swift and Kelce made headlines for a moment at a different arena. During an NBA playoff game at Rocket Arena in May, Kelce went viral for enthusiastically chugging a beer courtside while Swift watched from beside him. Videos of the exchange quickly spread online, with fans dissecting Swift's reaction after she covered her face and laughed before applauding along with the crowd.

As of writing, neither Swift nor Kelce has publicly commented on their reported wedding plans.

First-of-Its-Kind Skincare Classic, Originally Launched in 1982, Ranked Among Best Beauty Products of All Time

Tue, 06/09/2026 - 8:19pm

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum Synchronized Multi-Recovery Complex, a bathroom cabinet hero originally launched in 1982, was the first-ever product of its kind, introducing a totally new step in skincare rituals at the time. The beloved item was ranked among the greatest beauty products of all time on a list of 100 of the best releases ever by Beauty Inc.’s Women’s Wear Daily.

Published in February 2026, the lineup comprises several heavy-hitters across skincare, makeup, hair styling tools, and more, with the most iconic picks “chosen by the people who know best — beauty industry insiders,” the outlet announced. “These products are all ‘original, and either reimagine or simply imagine something that doesn’t exist,’ said Linda Wells, editor of Air Mail Look and founding editor of Allure, who acknowledged the saturation of today’s market and likened the current rate of new product development to running a marathon at the pace of a sprint.”

Including Estée Lauder's Advanced Night Repair Serum Synchronized Multi-Recovery Complex—which retails for about $20 (.23-ounces) to $258 (3.9-ounces) depending on size—is an understandable choice: the popular product is rated 4.6/5 stars with nearly 24K reviews. Officially, it’s described as a “super serum for deep nightly renewal and unfiltered morning radiance—even when you don’t sleep well.”

What makes it more special is that it was the very first face serum ever made, created by Mrs. Estée Lauder herself. Prior to its introduction to the market, skincare hadn't been thought of as a "nighttime" ritual, with brands focusing on products like cleansers and moisturizers.

"The product’s night peptide, a one-in-60-million discovery, works on the complexion at night while an eight-hour antioxidant complex shields skin during the day," WWD noted, adding that the “results-oriented” buy has become an industry must-have: “The formula begins to repair skin in just three nights.”

The brand also states that the contents of the iconic "Little Brown Bottle" are dermatologist-tested, ophthalmologist-tested, and won't clog pores.

Made for all skin types and meant to specifically reduce signs of aging, it has become known for aiding with loss of firmness, tone, lines, wrinkles, and uneven skintone. Users claim it helps skin look more youthful, is hydrating and "absorbs effortlessly," and remains an “effective” product, with some raving that "nothing else comes close" and they "can't live without it."

One supposed longtime fan is a self-proclaimed loyalist of the staple, writing, "I have been using this serum for years," and explaining, "I stopped it for awhile because of the cost, and I could see a difference in how my skin looked. So I feel it is worth the cost."

"Guess I will use this serum for life," they added.

As with most products, however, there are mixed reviews. Some claim it doesn’t live up to the hype, with one reporting that the "dispenser is of very poor quality" and they "had an unfortunate experience" with spillage. Another reported that it is "extremely sticky" and "does nothing," while a third lamented that it's too harsh and not suitable for dry skin types.

In 2020, the company reformulated the product. "The new formulation supports skin’s natural repair more effectively than ever before. It also helps to increase natural renewal of fresh new cells and collagen production for firmer, smoother skin—results that appear after using only one bottle," Estée Lauder shared of the update, per Newswire.

Providing more insight into what went into choosing which favorites made the final cut on the roundup, WWD added, “True hero products all share similar attributes. ‘Fundamentally, the product has to be extraordinary, and you need to know how to get the consumer to fall in love,’ said Jane Hertzmark Hudis, executive vice president and chief brand officer at the Estée Lauder Cos. Pointing to formula performance, sensoriality, packaging and marketing, she continued, ‘All of that has to work together in a cogent way to make you love it — not just for the week, but for life. And that’s the difference.’”

This ‘Disclosure Day’ Actor Just Pulled off a Daring Stunt With Bear Grylls

Tue, 06/09/2026 - 8:14pm

The season finale of Bear Grylls Is Running Wild airs tonight on FOX, featuring Disclosure Day’s own Colman Domingo. In anticipation of the new episode, PEOPLE shared an exclusive clip of the actor pulling off a daring stunt with the adventurer.

Huddled in a helicopter, Grylls prepared Domingo for a skydive jump over the Irish Sea. Grylls smiled and asked Domingo if he had ever jumped before. Nervously laughing, Domingo said, “No, no, I’ve never jumped before.”

“What could go wrong?” Grylls asked. “Man, let’s not go there.”

When Grylls told Domingo that they were only halfway up, Domingo covered his face and said, “We’re high enough!”

Once the helicopter reached 10,000 feet, the two prepared to jump. Grylls told Domingo that he was going to love it, and Domingo anxiously reassured himself, “Yes, I’m gonna love it.”

Cheering and screaming on the descent, Domingo was all smiles as the parachute opened.

In previous episodes of Bear Grylls Is Running Wild, the star took Matthew McConaughey to a glacier in Norway and MGK off the grid. In an interview with Fox News, Grylls opened up on why these stars go into the wild with him.

“I think a lot of these stars, they don't need the money, they don't need the fame,” Grylls said. “They want the experience of what the wild can give you.”

Grylls’ episode with Domingo comes just days before the premiere of Domingo’s new film, Disclosure Day. Directed by Steven Spielberg, the film also stars Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth, and Wyatt Russell.

“I can tell you with my entire heart that it is one of the most hopeful films that anyone can see right now,” Domingo said in an interview with Seen on the Screen. “Essentially, it’s about Steven’s heart and his belief of what we could be if we invite the unknown in.”

'Summer House' Fans Expected a Reunion Shocker—Bravo Had Other Plans

Tue, 06/09/2026 - 7:59pm

When Bravo urged fans to watch the Summer House reunion "until the very end," viewers immediately started theorizing. Was someone quitting? Was a cast shakeup coming? Would there be a shocking confrontation between Kyle Cooke, Amanda Batula, and West Wilson?

As it turns out, the tease wasn't about a reunion bombshell at all.

Instead, Bravo used the final moments of the Season 10 reunion to announce a surprise bonus episode, Summer House: The Aftermath, airing June 16. The special picks up three weeks after the reunion taping and follows cast members as they continue conversations left unresolved during the emotional three-part reunion.

And "unresolved" may be the best word to describe where things stand between Amanda and West.

Throughout the reunion's final installment, both admitted they are only now beginning to seriously examine their relationship — a revelation that seemed to particularly frustrate Kyle, who teased on Threads that a "surprise" was coming during the reunion.

During a break, Kyle stood in front of West and admitted, "I'm not gonna lie, I didn't know how I'd even react seeing you two together. Usually, when you come into a reunion, you try to shoot for resolution. I knew there was not going to be a resolution today. But the whole 'what's the plan?' question is not just for you and Amanda — it's for everybody."

West appeared like a deer in headlights, stumbling over his response as Kyle walked offstage. Kyle even acknowledged that West likely wouldn't have an answer, underscoring just how uncertain the situation remains.

View this post on Instagram

Moments later, as Amanda returned to the stage, Kyle fell into her arms and began to sob.

Mia Calabrese and Lindsay Hubbard also seemed stunned by the lack of clarity. "I'm walking away knowing less than what I came in knowing," Mia admitted.

As the cast grappled with a reunion that raised more questions than it answered, host Andy Cohen reminded Kyle of a comment he made on Watch What Happens Live. At the time, Kyle said that if the rumors about West and Amanda were true, he would be happy for Amanda as long as she was happy.

Now, however, Kyle appears to be in a different place, admitting that when he made those comments, he didn't think there was any realistic scenario in which the romance would actually happen.

Before the reunion aired, Bravo's cryptic tease sparked plenty of speculation. Some fans predicted casting announcements, while others guessed there would be a dramatic confrontation involving Kyle and West. Several viewers, however, suspected Bravo was simply hyping up the reunion after an emotional roller-coaster of a season.

"Yall did this for VPR too...not getting my hopes up," one person wrote on Bravo's Instagram post.

Another added, "So basically this means the ending is going to be soooooo mid. Stop hyping everything up."

In hindsight, the reunion's lack of resolution may have been intentional.

According to Bravo, Summer House: The Aftermath follows select cast members in New York City as they reunite to continue unresolved conversations, confront difficult issues, and share their truth. The network's description teases that Lindsay gives Amanda some tough love, Kyle seeks honesty from West, and Ciara Miller finally meets up with Mieja Moreno in person.

For fans who felt the reunion ended with more questions than answers, Bravo appears to be betting that the real conclusion is still to come.

Summer House: The Aftermath airs Tuesday, June 16, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo.

Because of their rocky history, many fans doubted they would remain together.

Evelin Villegas first appeared on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 1 with her then-boyfriend, Corey Rathgeber. Fans got to see the American man traveling to Engabao, Ecuador, to be with her. Although they built many connections and businesses, and spent much of their married life in their hometown of Engabao, the couple is officially ready for a new story.

Evelin's move to the U.S. is viewed as a significant milestone and a fresh start for the couple. Despite years of public criticism and relationship struggles, they have remained married and continue building a life together. 1966 Classic Rock Anthem, Written in 10 Minutes, Was Sung by an 18-Year-Old

Tue, 06/09/2026 - 7:46pm

While most musicians have to spend years paying their dues before that first break comes along, some of the most iconic stars in rock history were fortunate enough to find success very early on in their careers. Take Steve Winwood, for example. The iconic singer was part of two of the most important bands of the '60s and '70s, Traffic and Blind Faith, and went on to have a huge solo career with songs such as "Higher Love." But before all that, he first made his mark as a teenage prodigy with the legendary Spencer Davis Group.

Steve (then Stevie) was only 18 years old when the Spencer Davis Group recorded what would become one of the most beloved rock and roll tracks of all time, the 1966 hit "Gimme Some Lovin.'" Of course, he was already a pro by then, as the band had previously scored two #1 songs in the U.K., "Keep On Running" and "Somebody Help Me."

"Gimme Some Lovin'" was born when the band was being pressured by the record label to produce another hit.

As bassist Muff Winwood later recalled, per Classic Rock, the band members were on a lunch break when Island Records exec Chris Blackwell came to check on them, which didn't go over too well.

“We’d been rehearsing at the Marquee,” Muff said, “and he came down at midday but we weren’t there. We were down the road in a café in Wardour Street, and Chris found us in there. He went berserk: ‘What the f—k do you think you’re doing with your careers? You’ve got work to do and you’re lazing around here!’ So we said: ‘Just wait until we’re finished, then come back and listen to what we’ve done.’"

Blackwell was skeptical, but the band lived up to their promise.

“We’d done 'Gimme Some Lovin’ in 10 minutes and couldn’t believe how good it was. So we’d packed up and gone for lunch. Of course, when Chris came back and heard it his jaw just dropped. It just sounded like an instant hit," Muff explained, admitting, “Sometimes there’s that little bit of magic that you can’t put your finger on, but it happens and it just works."

"Gimme Some Lovin'" went on to land the Spencer Davis Group at #7 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, their first track to break the top 10 on the U.S. charts. That "magic" Muff mentioned has only grown over the years, thanks to endless radio play, frequent covers and a notable appearance in The Blues Brothers movie. It was even ranked at #247 on Rolling Stone's list of "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time."

Greatest of all time or not, by the late '80s, Steve had already heard the song more than enough.

"‘Gimme Some Lovin’" is obviously the bane of my life in some ways, because I’ve got to do it all the time,” he admitted in a 1988 interview with Rolling Stone. “But now you actually have a lot more people who have heard ‘Higher Love’ than ‘Gimme Some Lovin.' Or, often, people have heard ‘Gimme Some Lovin' and don’t know it’s me. That happens a lot. They say, ‘Why are you covering that Blues Brothers song?’"

Christy Turlington and Edward Burns Are Going Gray Together as They Celebrate Their 23rd Anniversary

Tue, 06/09/2026 - 7:21pm

Christy Turlington and Edward Burns look better than ever with graying hair as they celebrate their 23rd wedding anniversary.

Turlington, 57, who rose to stardom in the ’90s as one of the fashion world’s legendary supermodels alongside Naomi CampbellLinda Evangelista, and Cindy Crawford, has made a name for herself in recent years as an activist and documentarian working to advocate for the health of mothers during pregnancy and childbirth. Burns, 58, an actor and director who also skyrocketed to stardom in the ’90s, is best known for his beloved indie film The Brothers McMullen, as well as more recent works like Summer Days, Summer Nights, and Millers in Marriage.

Turlington shared a series of photos in honor of their anniversary, as well as the debut of her husband's latest film, Finnegan's Foursome. Standing alongside Burns, the former supermodel and her man looked incredible with graying hair.

Turlington Founded a Maternal Health Nonprofit

After going back to school at 26 to get her undergrad degree at NYU, Turlington returned to school at 39 to get a master’s in public health. She’s the founder of Every Mother Counts, a maternal health care nonprofit organization. While she has two children, she previously told Glamour that the organization is “very much like my third child.”

In regard to her best professional advice, Turlington advised that people “cultivate meaningful relationships.”

“I really do try to listen very attentively to any kind of personal story that someone is sharing with me. Not in any kind of game way, but in a true way. Because the more I can absorb in whatever amount of time that I spend with anyone, the more closely we can connect and the more that I will be able to take forward into another relationship at some point,” she said. “There are so many relationships I’ve had since I was a teenager in my first profession that, while I don’t see people very frequently, they come in really handy in other areas of life. The more you put in at the very beginning, I think, the possibilities are that much greater. You just never know where anyone is going to move on to or be.”

Christy and Edward are Empty Nesters

With their kids now adults, Turlington and Burns are getting their first dose of life as empty nesters. While they're not too used to being on their own, Burns shared his best marriage advice, saying the duo believes in talking things out.

“It’s a cliche to say, but it’s communication,” Burns told USA Today last year. “You kind of know (in the) early days, are you a couple that talks? And if you do, I think you’re going to be fine. That’s worked out for us.”

'I Was Running Away': Jesse Tyler Ferguson Opens Up Severe Anxiety During ‘Modern Family’

Tue, 06/09/2026 - 7:14pm

Jesse Tyler Ferguson recently spoke about the anxiety he experienced while working on Modern Family during a recent episode of his Dinner's On Me podcast

He recalled a particularly stressful panic attack he had at the time.

"I remember being in New York for gay pride. We weren't there for gay pride, but gay pride was happening that Sunday ... the point is, the streets were very full of people from the gay community," Ferguson shared.

“I was having pretty significant panic attacks near the end of Modern Family," the actor said.

While in New York, Ferguson revealed he “basically had a panic attack like in the streets."

"I was at a restaurant, it sort of came on, I was trying to look for a place to be quiet and private, but there was like, literally the streets were teeming with people," he said.

His partner and fellow actor JustinMikita was trying to pay the bill when Ferguson became so overwhelmed he started “running” away.

“I remember just flashes of this moment, but I remember being in a vestibule of a building, trying to just like catch my breath and hyperventilating, and someone coming up to me asking if they needed to call an ambulance, and I was like freaked out to turn around," he said.

Being recognized from Modern Family added to his stress. He joked that he is a "gay icon" because of his portrayal of an openly gay character on the sitcom.

"At that moment I was kind of by myself and this person was asking if they could call an ambulance, and I was afraid to turn around because I thought they were going to recognize me and I was like, 'I'm fine. I'm fine. I'm fine.'"

Modern Family aired on ABC from 2009 to 2020. It won a total of 22 Primetime Emmy Awards.

'A Good Girl's Guide to Murder' Season 3 Is the Last — But It's Coming Sooner Than Expected

Tue, 06/09/2026 - 7:13pm

There is no doubt that a show like A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder needs to wrap up with a full ending, and fortunately, Netflix agrees. The BBC and Netflix have renewed the Emma Myers series for a third season.

There is a major disappointing caveat to this renewal. It will be the last. Pip will solve her last case, offering viewers a full wrap-up of the story.

‘A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder’ Season 3 Has Already Finished Filming

In a surprising turn of events, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder Season 3 has already wrapped filming. Seasons 2 and 3 were filmed back-to-back, and it is now in post-production. The great news about this is that there won’t be as long of a wait as there was for the second season. It took two years for the second season to drop, but Netflix confirms the final season will arrive in 2027.

Now for a little more disappointing news. There will only be four episodes to this final season, as Holly Jackson’s trilogy is brought to a “bloody” end.

That’s exactly the way Jackson referred to the ending when announcing the final season, as she went on to share how excited she is to see the final book developed, saying, “As Good as Dead is my favorite of the book series, and it’s by far my favorite season of the show too. You’ll see Pip as you’ve never seen her before. It’s dark, breathless, horrible, and somehow still manages to be funny. Come on back to Little Kilton for the final time … if you dare.”

The Netflix Series Will Adapt ‘As Good as Dead’

The third book in Pip’s story sees her about to head off to college. However, not all the secrets in her small town have been uncovered, and she needs to solve this final mystery. This mystery is a threat against her, with some anonymous person asking who will search for her when she goes missing.

When the police fail to help with the search, Pip realizes that to prevent herself from becoming the next victim, she needs to find the suspect herself. Myers shares, “Book 3 is my favorite of all the books, so I’m very excited to show everyone what we’ve done. Get ready for a crazy time!”

Get ready for the conclusion to the tale in 2027.

NBA Finals National Anthem Singer Draws Attention as Donald Trump Salutes

Tue, 06/09/2026 - 7:11pm

Avery Wilson became one of the most talked-about figures ahead of Game 3 of the 2026 NBA Finals after delivering a powerful rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” at Madison Square Garden, where President Donald Trump was seen saluting during the performance.

The Grammy-nominated singer and Broadway actor performed the national anthem before tipoff as the New York Knicks hosted the San Antonio Spurs in a highly anticipated Finals matchup.

Throughout the performance, Wilson received loud cheers from fans inside Madison Square Garden, further cementing his growing connection with Knicks supporters.

Wilson's appearance came as national attention was already focused on Game 3 due to Trump's attendance. The president, who became the first sitting U.S. president to attend an NBA Finals game, stood in a private suite and saluted during the anthem.

Before the game, singer and political performer Mary Millben publicly backed Wilson on social media.

Wilson has become a familiar face at Madison Square Garden throughout the Knicks' playoff run.

The singer has performed the national anthem multiple times during New York's postseason home games, leading many fans to view him as a lucky presence for the team. His return for Game 3 added another layer of excitement as the Knicks attempted to move closer to their first NBA championship since 1973.

Fans watching Game 3 quickly flooded social media with positive reactions.

“Well done, AVERY. The media focus should be on your talent!” one commenter wrote.

Another fan added, “Amazing voice.”

Praise continued to pour in after the performance, with one viewer stating, “One of the best singers of our generation a 100%.”

A separate reaction read, “He sounded INCREDIBLE.”

Another supporter described the anthem as “A historic performance from a fantastic Broadway actor.”

Following the game, Wilson addressed the public response and thanked supporters for their encouragement.

“Thank you so much for all the love that you are showing me through texts and posts. I really really appreciate it,” Wilson said in a video shared on Instagram.

Reflecting on the experience, he added: “Me singing the National Anthem at the finals tonight - the Knicks vs the Spurs - was truly an unforgettable moment, even though I wanted us to win New York City so we could turn up. The game is not over. I know who was in the audience so I didn't think that people were booing me at all. I was also prompted to know that they probably would do so.”

Despite the attention surrounding Trump's attendance and the heightened security around Madison Square Garden, Wilson's national anthem performance emerged as one of the night's biggest entertainment moments.

1976 Power Ballad Became a Soft Rock Classic and Breakthrough Radio Anthem, Despite Never Reaching No. 1

Tue, 06/09/2026 - 7:03pm

Fifty years ago, the iconic '70s hard rock band Kiss released "Beth," a song that, despite never capturing the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100, would go on to become their highest-charting single ever, all thanks to radio airplay.

"Beth" was initially released in July of 1976 as the B-side single to "Detroit Rock City" from Kiss's fourth studio album Destroyer. Following its release, the track experienced a rapid increase in listener demand due to radio DJs flipping the record in favor of the ballad. By August, "Beth" had grown so much in popularity on the airwaves that the band re-released it as an A-side single.

One month after its re-release, "Beth" entered the Billboard Hot 100. The song climbed up the chart until it peaked at No. 7 in early December, marking the band's highest-charting song in their entire career.

The single's milestones didn't stop with just chart success; it also bled into commercial triumph. In 1977, "Beth" was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for selling over 1 million copies in the U.S. alone—affirming Kiss's ability to move commercial audiences.

Produced by Bob Ezrin through Casablanca Records, "Beth" is notable for its stripped-down instrumentation and soaring vocals. The track is a stark juxtaposition from the rest of the band's catalog. It takes a break from Kiss's typical electric-heavy soundscapes by utilizing gentle piano, lush strings and an intimate vocal performance that crescendos into a quintessential '70s power ballad.

The emotional, orchestral ballad tells the story of someone torn between their family and their professional obligations. Written by drummer Peter Criss and his former bandmate Stan Penridge, "Beth" served as an autobiographical track that mirrored their experiences as traveling performers. Paired with the song's emotional production, "Beth" was quickly recognized as a classic within the soft rock genre.

Even after five decades, "Beth" continues to resonate with new audiences in the digital era through streaming platforms. On Spotify alone, the song has garnered over 83 million streams, attesting to its lasting relevance in rock history and Kiss's career.

1966 Folk Classic, Banned by Some Radio Stations, Became an Era-Defining Anthem

Tue, 06/09/2026 - 7:01pm

Janis Ian released "Society's Child (Baby I've Been Thinking)" in 1966. It took a year to crack the Top 20 on Billboard's Hot 100 — and by the time it did, the then-16-year-old was already being boycotted and chanted off the stage.

Ian had written the song three years earlier, at just 13. Her debut single was about a White girl in love with a Black guy and a society that refused to accept it.

Being a hit didn't protect her from the backlash. Some club owners turned her away fearing violence would break out. Several radio stations refused to play the song because they thought she was “too young” to be singing about such things.

But nothing could have prepared her for what happened at the Valley Music Theater in Encino, California. It was only her fourth or fifth concert. A few songs in, the room turned.

"When I started 'Society’s Child,' these people started yelling," she recalled in the documentary Janis Ian: Breaking Silence. "And I thought they were yelling something nice ‘cause on stage you can’t really hear what people are yelling very clearly. But I realized they were all yelling 'N---- lover!' at me.”

She tried to push through it, but the chanting only got louder. "I knew that I was going to start to cry, and I didn’t want them to see me cry," she said. So she set her guitar down, walked off stage and went to the restroom. "I just didn't know what I was supposed to do."

Eventually the promoter came looking for her. He had been in the box office during the whole thing and had no idea what had happened. When she told him, he didn't sugarcoat his response.

"He said, ‘Well, you don’t leave the stage because somebody calls you a name,’” she recalled. They went back and forth for what felt like forever. Then something he said finally got to her. "I can't believe the girl who wrote that song is a coward."

Ian's grandparents were Jewish Russian immigrants who had sacrificed everything to come to America. If they could handle that, she could handle this. "Who was I to leave the stage?" she said. She went back out, picked up her guitar and kept singing.

The ushers made their way through the crowd with flashlights, shining them on the hecklers. The manager kicked them out, and Ian later learned that those roughly 20 people had come that night specifically to intimidate her.

"It was a life changing moment for me," Ian said. "Because I realized for the first time that the song didn’t just have the power to make people angry, but it had the power to make people stand up and stand up for what they believe. And that was a huge deal, that music could do that. I think that was a large part of what set me on my course."

It would be eight years before Ian had another major hit. "At Seventeen" came out in 1975 when she was in her early twenties, yet she wrote about the pain of not fitting in as a teenager so convincingly that it resonated with a whole generation. It reached No. 3 on the Hot 100 and won her a Grammy.

Another of Brad Pitt's Children Makes Move to Legally Change Last Name

Tue, 06/09/2026 - 6:54pm

Another member of Brad Pittand Angelina Jolie's family is reportedly taking steps to leave the "Pitt" name behind.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the former couple's daughter Zahara has filed a petition to legally change her name from Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt to Zahara Marley Jolie. The petition was reportedly filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on June 4, though Zahara signed the paperwork back on April 28.

The move comes just weeks after the 21-year-old celebrated a major milestone of her own. On May 17, Zahara graduated from Spelman College in Atlanta with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology. During the commencement ceremony, she was introduced using only her mother's surname.

While Zahara has not publicly commented on the decision, she isn't the first of her siblings to distance themselves from the Jolie-Pitt hyphenation.

Her younger sister, Shiloh, was the first to legally petitioned to remove "Pitt" from her surname shortly after turning 18 in 2024. More recently, reports surfaced that Zahara's older brother Maddox had also moved to legally drop Pitt from his name, too. Although Maddox has not publicly addressed the decision, he had already begun using Jolie professionally, including in his assistant director credit on Angelina's 2025 film Couture.

The latest development comes nearly a decade after Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in 2016. Jolie, 51, and Pitt, 62, share six children together: Maddox, 24, Pax, 22, Zahara, 21, Shiloh, 19, and 17-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.

The family has largely remained private about the the split, though Angelina previously offered a rare glimpse into its impact last fall. In a declaration filed in October 2025 as part of the former couple's ongoing legal battle over Château Miraval, Angelina wrote, "The events leading to my need to separate from my ex-husband were emotionally difficult for me and our children."

She went on to explain that neither she nor the couple's six children had returned to the French estate since filing for divorce in 2016, adding, "To this day, the children and I have never again set foot on the property, given its connection to the painful events leading to the divorce.
