‘The Voice’ Season 29 Blind Auditions: Who Went Through and Who Was Eliminated Tonight?
Monday night was the final night of Blind Auditions on Season 29 of The Voice and the teams were filling up. Blind Auditions began with Adam Levine in the lead in the coaches competition to win the most 3-Chair Turns. Adam had three, Kelly Clarkson had two, and John Legendhad zero. The reason it matters is that this season the coach who gets the most artists who’ve been awarded a three-chair turn earns a “Super Steal” for the Battles. This coveted prize can only be used once and trumps any other coach’s attempt to steal, guaranteeing a win.
Halfway through the night, John had acquired a second three-chair turn and then it all ended when Kelly filled up her team with Mikenley Brown, who became the final three-chair turn of the season. Since there was a tie between Kelly and Adam, the producers broke the tie by counting how many two-chair turns each won, and the winner was Kelly.
Shortly after, John filled up his team and then Adam, ending the Blind Auditions and sending The Voice into Battles next week with advisors Jennifer Hudson, Benji Madden and Muni Long.
It was also revealed that this season’s Mega Mentor will be Michael Bublé.

Iconic '50s Star, Who Became the Queen of Sitcom, Has Interesting Real-Life Love Story
Lucille Ball, the iconic star in the 1950s, captivated audiences with her undeniable charm and comedic brilliance, but far beyond her legendary status, her real-life story adds a fascinating layer to the life she led off-screen.
Celebrated as the Queen of Sitcom through her groundbreaking work on I Love Lucy, the New York native chased her dream to become an actress after entering Hollywood in the 1930s.
Despite experiencing the typical struggles of a budding actress, she landed the lead role in the 1940 movie Too Many Girls, where she met Desi Arnaz.
Little did she know, it would mark the start of her reel-to-real-life romance with the actor-musician.
From Screen Sparks to Real-Life LoveIn November 1940, just six months after meeting, the pair eloped. According to Warren G. Harris’ biography, Lucy & Desi: The Legendary Love Story of Television’s Most Famous Couple, Ball recalled the whirlwind experience and described it as "the most daring thing" she had ever taken on in her life.
Desi Arnaz and wife Lucille Ball on the set of the TV series I Love Lucy in 1950s.“I never fell in love with anyone quite so fast. He was very handsome and romantic,” she said.
Amid the major decision she made, Ball once admitted that she felt unsure whether the marriage would last and even humorously guessed it might last only six weeks.
It seemed fate was on their side as the marriage sparked a partnership that thrived both behind the camera and in the spotlight with the hit sitcomI Love Lucy.
The 1951 series starred the real-life couple as husband and wife, giving viewers a glimpse of what life was like for them off-screen.
View this post on InstagramAt the height of the show’s success, Ball and Arnaz launched a production company called Desilu Productions, now known for revolutionizing the TV industry and producing not only I Love Lucy but also other notable hits like the original Star Trek and Mission Impossible.
Unfortunately, after the hit sitcom ended in 1957, the actress filed for divorce in March 1960, ending their 20-year marriage.
At the time, the primary reason for their separation was a "tumultuous" relationship, fueled by the actor’s excessive drinking, womanizing and the pressure of running Desilu Productions.
Despite the divorce, the pair maintained a civil relationship and remained actively involved as parents to their two children, Lucie Arnaz and Desi Arnaz Jr.
A year after her divorce, Ball married comedian Gary Morton. They remained together until her death in 1989 at age 77.
As for Arnaz, he married Edith Mack Hirsch in 1963 and was together with her until his passing in 1986 at age 69.

Before the Top 20 were named, this season’s Platinum Tickets were awarded, and for the first time, the judges didn’t make the decision. Three were given out and one was decided by a group of industry experts (see below); the second by friends and family, the ohana; and the final one was voted on by their peers.
Jordan McCullough’s fellow Idols voted for him, the Ohana voted for Brooks, and the industry pros’ Platinum Ticket was awarded to Kyndal Inskeep.

From One 'Newsroom' to the Next: This Emmy Winner Has Joined 'The Morning Show'
Apple TV's hit show about a frenzied newsroom just cannot be stopped. Just look at all the big names continuing to join the cast.
And for next season, why not enlist a seasoned veteran who once led a similarly fictitious news station? After all, Jeff Daniels won Primetime Emmy gold for his leading turn in HBO's The Newsroom.
Deadline reports that Daniels, 71, has officially joined the upcoming fifth season of The Morning Show, the award-winning comedy-drama series starring and headlined and executive-produced by Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon.
In a major recurring role, the longtime actor will play Lukas, a self-made billionaire and founder of a well-known investment firm, Deadline also noted on Monday, March 9.
Daniels joins a returning cast that also includes:
- Billy Crudup
- Mark Duplass
- Nestor Carbonell
- Karen Pittman
- Jon Hamm
Season 4 of The Morning Show bowed on Apple TV in November 2025, with a storyline taking plac almost two years after the events of season 3 — as fans are well aware. The third installment received 16 Emmy nominations, with Crudup, 57, taking home his second trophy in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series category.
Meanwhile, Daniels has keeping busy in a recurring role on Shrinking — another Apple TV show — as the father of Jason Segel's lead character. Before that, he starred in American Rust, which ran for two seasons on Showtime and Prime Video.
And on the straight-up comedy front, it's hard to believe more than 30 years have passed since the release of Dumb and Dumber, where Daniels shined opposite Jim Carrey!
Last month, Daniels stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and revealed his wildly unexpected favorite sandwich. When asked what the best sandwich was, Daniels said he would “have to go with a personal favorite,” before throwing a curveball by listing pita bread, peanut butter, chips and barbecue sauce as its ingredients.
“Wow, you threw me there,” Colbert, 61, replied in shock. “You’re either eating that in a poncho or naked, I’m not sure.”

Beloved '70s Singer, With No. 1 Hit Song, Turns 72
Charmaine Sylvers is celebrating her 72nd birthday, a special milestone for the singer, whose career is tied to one of the most infectious dance hits of the disco era.
Sylvers rose to fame as a member of the family group The Sylvers, who scored a major breakthrough in 1976 with their smash single, "Boogie Fever."
The upbeat track quickly caught fire on radio and dance floors across the country. “Boogie Fever” climbed to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the group’s biggest hit and a defining anthem of the disco boom of the mid-1970s.
Formed in Los Angeles, The Sylvers were a large musical family act made up of siblings who combined pop, soul, and disco influences. The group originally gained attention in the early 1970s with a string of R&B hits before crossing over to mainstream pop success.

Alongside her siblings, she helped bring youthful energy and tight vocal harmonies to songs that became staples of the era.
"Boogie Fever," written and produced by Freddie Perren, captured the joyful spirit of disco just as the genre was exploding in popularity. Its catchy groove and playful lyrics helped it remain a favorite on classic dance playlists decades later.
Although The Sylvers released several other singles during the 1970s, "Boogie Fever" remains their signature hit and one of the songs most closely associated with the golden age of disco.
Now, as Charmaine Sylvers turns 72, the song continues to keep dance floors moving and serves as a reminder of the musical moment when The Sylvers helped define the sound of the decade.

Jordin Sparks Marks Nearly 20 Years Since Winning 'American Idol'
It's been almost two decades since Jordin Sparks became the youngest winner in American Idol history, and even she can't quite wrap her head around it.
"It's next year will be 20 years that I won American Idol," Sparks, 36, said during the Sunday, March 8 episode of her podcast What's Your Spark?. "Can you believe it? Like it will be 20 years."
The Season 6 champion, who took the crown in 2007 at just 17 years old, beat runner-up Blake Lewis during one of the show's biggest eras, when millions of viewers were still casting votes from flip phones every week.
That win launched a career that quickly moved beyond reality TV.
Her debut album Jordin Sparks went platinum, and singles like "Tattoo" and the Chris Brown duet "No Air" helped turn the Arizona native into one of the breakout pop stars of the late 2000s. Over the years, Sparks has also branched into acting, Broadway, hosting, and voice work while continuing to release music.

Still, the Grammy-nominated singer admitted that the industry — and how success is measured — looks very different now than it did when she first stepped onto the Idol stage. "For me success is in the eye of the beholder," she said. "I feel like I'm doing great. I'm doing fantastic."
Sparks added that social media has shifted how people view fame and popularity. "I think social media has kind of skewed what success looks like," she explained. "Sometimes the more views and more likes equates to success, but those things can be bought."
Despite occasionally feeling overlooked in the music world, Sparks said she stays grounded in what she knows she can do. "I do have my moments," she admitted. "But I know the talent that I have, the gift that I've been blessed with."
"What’s meant for me will never miss me."
@jordinsparksofficialSinging my American Idol audition song, 16 years later! This song brings me right back!! 🎶🤍
♬ original sound - Jordin SparksThe conversation also included a small career update for fans wondering when they might hear new songs. Sparks revealed she currently has several tracks ready to go and is working through which ones to release first. "I'm hoping maybe beginning of summer I'll be able to drop something," she said. "Whether it's going to have a video or anything like that remains to be seen. Everything comes out of my pocket. I'm not signed to a major label right now. So, you know."
Nearly 20 years after her American Idol victory, Sparks says she's simply grateful to still be doing what she loves: "I'm really grateful that I'm still around. And that I'm still able to have these amazing opportunities and I'm able to use my gift in the best way that I know how to share that with everyone."
Steve Carell Makes Rare Comment About His ‘Babe’ of a Wife Nancy After 30 Years Together
Steve Carellmay be one of Hollywood’s most recognizable comedians, but according to him, the funniest person in his household isn’t actually him.
In an interview with L’Officiel shared on Monday, March 9, the actor shared a rare glimpse into his decades-long marriage with wife Nancy Carell. Reflecting on their relationship, Carell revealed that the comedic dynamic between the two has always leaned in her favor.
“We read scripts together, and after 30 years of marriage, we know each other pretty well,” he said. “We really do finish each other’s sentences, but people who know us know that she’s way funnier than I am. She’s just a super-talented and smart person. And, you know, she’s a babe.”
Carell and Nancy first met in the early 1990s while performing with the famed Second City comedy troupe in Chicago. The couple tied the knot in August 1995 and later welcomed two children—daughter Annie, now 24, and son Johnny, 21.
These days, with their kids grown and the house a little quieter, Carell says he and Nancy are enjoying a different pace of life. “I have hobbies. I play sports. I hang out with my kids,” Carell said to the outlet. “My wife and I are trying to travel more now that we’re empty nesters.”
While Carell has spent decades navigating fame, he said keeping family life grounded has always been a priority. “A big thing was trying to make sure that my kids had a fairly normal upbringing,” he explained, noting that he and Nancy have never been drawn to the Hollywood party scene.
Outside of family life, Carell is currently promoting his new HBO comedy Rooster. The show’s theme song, “I Played the Fool (Main Title Theme),” was recently released to streaming services and features a collaboration between former R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe and super-producer Andrew Watt, along with musicians like Travis Barker and Josh Klinghoffer.
Rooster is available to stream on HBO Max as of March 8, with new episodes dropping weekly on Sundays.
Ageless Actress Michelle Pfeiffer and Famous Husband Make Rare Red Carpet Appearance
Michelle Pfeiffer, 67, recently made a rare red carpet appearance with her husband, well-known writer and producer David E. Kelley, 69 (Ally McBeal, The Practice, Big Little Lies). The couple held hands at the NYC premiere for Pfeiffer's new show The Madison—another forthcoming gift for the fans of TV hitmaker Taylor Sheridan (Yellowstone, Landman).
Back in November 2025, the Hollywood power couple celebrated a whopping 32 years of marriage together. In a sweet Instagram tribute for their anniversary, Pfeiffer wrote, "Lucky in love for 32 years. 🤍" and included a photo of the couple walking, again holding hands.
This week, at The Madison premiere, Pfeiffer—decked out in a gorgeous belted leather coat and a leather skirt—cozied up for red carpet photos with her husband David and also posed with co-star Kurt Russell and other castmates from The Madison.
View this post on InstagramAlong with Pfeiffer and Russell, The Madison stars Matthew Fox (Lost, Party of Five), Elle Chapman (A Man Called Otto), Patrick J. Adams (Suits, Wayward), Amiah Miller (War for the Planet of the Apes), and others. The story follows the Clyburn family as they relocate from New York City to the Madison River Valley in Central Montana after a tragic accident. Pfeiffer plays matriarch Stacy Clyburn, and Russell plays her husband, Preston Clyburn. The first episode of The Madison airs March 14, on Paramount+.
In the meantime, Pfeiffer and Kelley are also working together on his new Apple TV+ series Margo's Got Money Troubles, in which Pfeiffer stars alongside Elle Fanning. It's scheduled for an April 2026 release.
Kelley is also focused on a second season of the thriller Presumed Innocent, also on Apple TV+, which will feature on a brand new case and a whole new cast, including Rachel Brosnahan and Matthew Rhys.

Whether you have children of your own or you're a kid at heart, it's always fun to hear about the toys that are capturing kids' attention. Parents often assume that their children want the latest high-tech gadget, but they sometimes forget how much tactile toys can entertain kids and adults alike. Take NeeDoh toys, for example. The company's CEO says the brand has seen "phenomenal growth" over the last few years.
"We see this as a category of products that has been around for many years, and it actually is both a toy and a functional item for people. So that's why I think it's got a long life ahead of it," Paul Weingard, the CEO of Schylling, the company that makes NeeDoh, tells Parade.
If you've never heard of NeeDoh toys before, he describes them as "handheld, fun to play with sensory products."
The brand makes a wide variety of toys that delight both kids and adults, who Weingard says sometimes use them as a form of stress relief, similar to fidget toys.
Wondering what all the fuss is about? Parade chatted with Weingard to learn more about NeeDoh toys and what makes them so popular.

Weingard describes NeeDoh toys as a "range of products that are sensory or tactile kinds of products."
NeeDoh toys come in a variety of shapes, sizes and textures, and they are designed to be "squeezed, stretched and played with in a broad variety of ways."
Schylling
He says NeeDoh's products are "part fidget toy" and notes that they're popular with children and adults. The CEO regularly hears from customers, especially students, who use the toys to help them focus, keep their hands busy and relieve stress.
"They have a remarkable amount of therapeutic uses, even though we don't prescribe them for those uses. I'm just amazed at the broad range of ways that NeeDoh fans are using the product," he shares.
What Is Inside NeeDoh?Each of NeeDoh's products is produced with a unique set of materials.
"They're filled with a variety of non-toxic materials. Each product lists the specific ingredient or filling on the package," Weingard says.
The CEO notes that the same material can also be used in different ways.
"We can modify these basic ingredients in a number of different ways to give a whole variety of different experiences," he explains.
Here are some of the more common materials the brand uses in its products:
Maltose sugarWeingard describes "food-grade sugar" as the "main" filling for many of NeeDoh's popular products.
"It's very clear and has its own distinct quality when you feel it. That's in some of our most popular products like our NeeDoh Nice Cube, our Dream Drop and quite a few others," he shares.
"Our original NeeDoh has a super soft, white dough-like filling, and that's a material called PVA, which is a very common non-toxic material found in all kinds of products like white glue," he says, adding that the material is also found in cosmetics and a "broad range of objects and materials you find in a household."
CornstarchThis ingredient, often used in baking, is featured in the NeeDoh Snowball Crunch. "When you squeeze that ball, the cornstarch gives you this kind of a crunchy snowball feel," Weingard states.

Why Is NeeDoh So Popular?Pinpointing why consumers gravitate towards a particular product isn't an exact science, but Weingard has several theories as to why customers are so fond of NeeDoh's toys. For starters, each of the brand's products is unique, so they offer a "distinctive experience" for consumers.
"Everybody finds a particular feeling that they're, I'll say, obsessed with. And that's the goal: to make them incredibly compelling. Once you pick them up, you just don't want to put them down," he explains.
The wide range of potential uses for the toys is also a possible contributing factor to their popularity.
"It surprises me how many children and students are using these to keep focus," he states.
Additionally, the CEO has heard from adults who keep NeeDoh toys on their desks as a stress relief tool. Older adults have also shared feedback with the brand to explain how the toys have provided therapeutic benefits while navigating "stiffness or arthritis," per Weingard.
"We don't make any specific claims to that, but the experience and feedback of users is really amazing," he says.
At its core, the company treats the product as a toy throughout the design process. Weingard says the team strives to make its products "whimsical, interesting and compelling" by playing around with different forms and shapes.
Do NeeDoh Toys Get Dirty?Kids have a tendency of abusing their toys at times, so it's only inevitable that they'll get dirty once in a while. When that does happen, Weingard says the best course of action is to wash the surface of your NeeDoh toys with mild soap and water.
For some NeedDoh products, you can even apply a little cornstarch to the surface to "bring them back to their original texture with a really soft and velvety feeling."
"For our clear products like our Nice Cube or Dream Drop, you could use cornstarch, but that will take away some of the clarity, so we just normally say wash them with mild soap and water and let them air dry," he shares.
Overall, the most important thing is to avoid solvents or other household cleaners.

Since NeeDoh products are meant to be squished, it begs the question: Do they ever leak?
Weingard acknowledges that the brand's products "do occasionally leak" since children can sometimes play aggressively with them. However, he notes that this is why NeeDoh uses "non-toxic ingredients" that meet "all testing standards" to ensure user safety.
"For the most part in regular use, they're very durable," he says. "I have a Nice Cube on my desk that I've been using almost every day for multiple years now, and it's still very much intact," he says.
Of course, it's best to avoid intentionally cutting with the toys with sharp objects if you want to prevent leaking.
"Right now, we see a lot of curiosity out there, especially on social media, about what's inside, and you see videos with people cutting them open and other kinds of videos of that nature," he shares. "And of course we don't encourage that, but you know, you can't stop people from being curious about what's inside."

'70s Rocker, With Iconic 1976 No. 1 Hit Song, Turns 78
Before it became a classic rock staple heard on radios for generations, "Blinded by the Light" first lit up the charts in 1976 thanks to the voice of Chris Thompson. The singer, who fronted Manfred Mann's Earth Band during the band’s most successful era, turned 78 on Monday — almost 50 years after the group's electrified take on a Bruce Springsteen song became a No. 1 hit.
Born in Kent and raised in New Zealand, Thompson started his career when he was in his 20s, performing for various bands that found success in the New Zealand music scene. In 1973, he returned to England and joined Manfred Mann's Earth Band. He remained with the British rock band for years, leaving once in 1979 to perform Night in Los Angeles, then joining again in 1982 and leaving again four years later, then returning and contributing to the group's releases until 1999. In the 1980s, the British-New Zealand singer pursued a solo career and has since released 15 albums.
While serving as the singer and guitarist of Manfred Mann's Earth Band, the group recorded a cover of Springsteen's "Blinded by the Light," which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States in February 1977 and was also a top ten track in the United Kingdom, New Zealand and Canada. The group also performed many hits by Springsteen, such as "For You" and "Spirit in the Night."

The original version of "Blinded by the Light" appeared in Springsteen's 1973 debut album, Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J. According to an interview with American Songwriter that was published last March, Thompson actually revealed that Springsteen "hated" and "strongly disliked" Manfred Mann's Earth Band's cover of the hit, but didn't say that to his face when they had dinner together in the 1970s. Thompson explained that Springsteen's problem with their version of "Blinded by the Light" wasn’t because of its chart performance, but rather it was because Manfred Mann changed some of the original lyrics.
"He was upset that it had 'douche' in it," Thompson told the publication, "and that we’d actually changed some of the words."
The British band changed its original lyric "cut loose like a deuce" to sound like "wrapped up like a douche," and this happened because an improperly aligned tape machine led to its distortion during its engineering, and made the words sound like the lyric was misunderstood. Still decades later, it is one of the most commonly misheard lyrics in rock history.

Though Thompson left Manfred Mann's Earth Band for good in 1999 (he helped with some of the rock band's albums throughout the 1980s and 1990s on-and-off), his impact is still felt by the rock community.
Thompson continues to create music, recently releasing the live album The Final Round in 2023 and supporting various cancer charities. He revealed on Facebook over the holidays and in an interview with Its Psychedelic Baby Magazine in May 2025 that he is currently working on a new solo album, after wrapping a 24-track musical with his wife and has pivoted away from extensive touring.

'Star Trek' Icon, 73, Reveals Why He's Surprised by the Hate for New Show
Jonathan Frakes is getting candid about the criticism regarding the newStar Trek series, Star Trek: Starfleet Academy.
The 73-year-old actor, who famously starred as William T. Riker in Star Trek: The Next Generation, discussed directing an episode of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy in a March 2026 interview withIGN. Frakes noted that the new series, which follows a group of Starfleet Academy cadets, has been criticized by some Star Trek fans. He shared that he and his Star Trek: TNG co-stars were also not initially welcomed into the fandom upon the show's 1987 debut.
“I was prepared because when Next Gen came out almost 40 years ago, we were trolled. Nobody wanted us. And this was pre-internet," said Frakes, who also directed episodes of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
He said, however, that "it’s still dimensionally more painful [today]."
"And the trolls are hiding, and the trolls are hating. … It's the first rule of the Constitution. I guess they're entitled to their opinion, but it surprises me how aggressively ‘anti’ they are with each new iteration of the show. And it continues to surprise me, and I try not to let it upset me," said Frakes to the publication.
Robert Picardo Also Gave His Opinion About 'Star Trek: Starfleet Academy'Frakes isn't the only Star Trek icon who has been vocal about Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. Actor Robert Picardo, who reprised his Star Trek: Voyager character, The Doctor, for Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, said he didn't agree with some of the criticism towards the new Star Trek show, which premiered on January 15, during a January 2026 interview with Reel School.
“I’ve heard some fans say that Star Trek has gone too far in its diversity and inclusion. I completely disagree with that," said Picardo.
He stated that Star Trek has been "diverse and inclusive" since the original series, which had a three-season run, started airing in 1966.
“Star Trek was founded during the turbulent ’60s at a moment of real cultural and political turmoil. And I think that at times when you have that same critical amount of cultural and political turmoil, the world needs Star Trek more than ever,” said Picardo in the January 2026 interview.

10 Celebrities Who Quit Drinking—and Say Life Is Better Without Alcohol1. Tom HollandDFree / Shutterstock.com
Tom Holland's sober journey started with a casual Dry January challenge in 2023. After he realized it was harder than he thought to give it up for just a month, he reevaluated his relationship with alcohol.
He decided to challenge himself and extend the challenge to six months without alcohol. He noticed a range of everyday improvements and has said on the On Purpose with Jay Shetty podcast that it's "the best thing I've ever done."
In 2024, the actor launched Bero, a nonalcoholic beer brand, designed to give people the social ritual of drinking without the alcohol. Fortunately, it didn't take rock bottom for him to reassess his drinking habits, showing that even short breaks from alcohol can do wonders.

2. Anne Hathawaylev radin / Shutterstock.com
Anne Hathaway's decision to give up alcohol began after she noticed how it was affecting her parenting. In 2018, she started rethinking her drinking after dropping off her toddler at school while hungover. The experience alone was enough to make her reconsider her relationship with alcohol.
She also realized her hangovers were lasting longer, making it harder to keep up with daily responsibilities. In 2019, she announced on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that she planned to stop drinking at least until her son turned 18 and moved out so she could be fully present as a parent.
After a few years of sobriety, she had enough distance to see alcohol differently. By 2024, after more than five years of being sober, she could definitively say that alcohol just wasn't for her.
3. Bradley CooperRon Adar / Shutterstock.com
Bradley Cooper has had a long and complicated relationship with alcohol and drugs. Early in his career, he felt that substance use had affected his professional life. He even remembers moments where he'd be hungover on the set of the TV series Alias.
In 2004, at the age of 29, Cooper had had it. He decided to stop drinking and using substances entirely. In an interview with GQ, he later admitted, "I was really going to sabotage my whole life."
Shortly after getting sober, he felt more in tune with his acting and professional growth. A few years later, he would land major roles that propelled him into stardom, including 2009's The Hangover. By the early 2020s, Cooper had been sober for nearly 20 years.
4. Brad PittTinseltown / Shutterstock.com
For years, Brad Pitt had been open about drinking heavily. But 2016 marked a major turning point. After a highly publicized private plane incident in 2016 and the breakdown of his marriage to Angelina Jolie, Pitt began reassessing his relationship with alcohol. Shortly after the split, Pitt decided to quit drinking and seek help.
After the separation, Pitt joined Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and attended meetings regularly for about a year and a half. He credited the meetings with helping him understand his patterns and begin rebuilding his life.
Pitt first spoke openly about quitting alcohol in a 2017 interview with GQ, admitting that his drinking had gotten out of control and said he had "quit everything but booze" earlier in life before eventually deciding alcohol had to go, too.

Miley Cyrus first publicly embraced sobriety in 2017 while working on her album Younger Now. At the time, Cyrus said she had stopped drinking and smoking marijuana so she could focus on her music and mental health.
In 2019, Cyrus went through a turbulent year that included the end of her marriage to Liam Hemsworth, vocal cord surgery and major personal changes. During this time, she later admitted she had started drinking again. Cyrus has been candid that sobriety is a journey and that setbacks can happen, especially during stressful periods.
During the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Cyrus said she briefly began drinking again while in quarantine. However, she stopped quickly after realizing she didn't like the direction it was taking.
6. Drew BarrymoreRon Adar / Shutterstock.com
Drew Barrymore has one of the most widely known early addiction stories in Hollywood. Barrymore began drinking at age 9, started smoking marijuana at 10 and using cocaine by 12. By 13, she entered rehab for the first time after her substance use spiraled out of control during her early fame following E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. She later spent time in psychiatric care and eventually moved toward recovery in her mid-teens.
As Barrymore transitioned into adulthood, she rebuilt her life and career, becoming a successful actor and producer. While she maintained a more balanced lifestyle during this period, Barrymore has said alcohol continued to appear in her life socially over the years.
Barrymore experienced another turning point in 2016 following her divorce from art consultant Will Kopelman. She later revealed that the separation led to a difficult emotional period where drinking became a coping mechanism.
By 2019, Barrymore had made the decision to stop drinking again. Unlike her earlier struggles, this time the change happened more privately. She later explained that alcohol was keeping her stuck emotionally and preventing her from moving forward in a healthier way.
7. Zac Efronlev radin / Shutterstock.com
After rising to global fame through Disney's High School Musical films, Zac Efron experienced intense pressure in the early 2010s as he transitioned from teen star to adult roles. During this period, Efron later admitted that drinking and drug use became a serious problem. By 2013, the situation had escalated enough that Efron quietly entered rehab for substance abuse.
Efron sought treatment in 2013, focusing on recovery from alcohol and cocaine use. After completing treatment, he began working with recovery programs and attending support groups to maintain sobriety. In 2014, Efron opened up about his sobriety during interviews promoting the film Neighbors. He revealed he had joined Alcoholics Anonymous and was attending meetings regularly to maintain accountability.
Following rehab, Efron focused on rebuilding a healthier lifestyle that included fitness, outdoor activities, and structured routines. He has credited exercise and physical training as tools that helped replace old habits. During this period, he also shifted his career toward more mature roles in films like Neighbors, The Greatest Showman and Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.

As fame intensified, Radcliffe said alcohol became a way to cope with anxiety and the pressure of growing up in the spotlight.
Radcliffe decided to stop drinking in 2010, when he was about 21 years old. The decision came shortly before the final Harry Potter film was released, and as he began transitioning into stage and independent film roles.
Since quitting alcohol, Radcliffe has said life feels calmer and more balanced. He credits sobriety with helping him navigate adulthood outside the shadow of the Harry Potter franchise and pursue more diverse acting roles.
9. Samuel L. JacksonDFree / Shutterstock.com
Samuel L. Jackson has been candid about battling addiction long before he became a Hollywood star. During the 1970s and '80s, Jackson struggled with alcohol and drug use, including heroin and cocaine, while trying to build a career in theater and film. At the time, he was working in New York theater and small film roles, and later said substance abuse frequently interfered with his work and personal life.
Jackson reached a breaking point in 1991 when his wife and daughter discovered him unconscious on the kitchen floor after using drugs. The incident led to a family intervention, and Jackson entered rehab shortly afterward. After completing treatment, Jackson began recovery and stopped using drugs and alcohol.
His first major role after rehab was in Jungle Fever, where he played a character battling crack addiction. The performance earned him critical acclaim and the Best Supporting Actor award at the Cannes Film Festival. Jackson has often explained that addiction nearly destroyed both his family and his career before he found recovery. Sobriety, he says, allowed him to rebuild his life from the ground up.
10. Demi Lovatolev radin / Shutterstock.com
Demi Lovato began speaking publicly about struggles with addiction, eating disorders and mental health in the late 2000s. In 2010, Lovato entered treatment after stepping away from a tour, later revealing that substance use, including alcohol and drugs, had become intertwined with those challenges.
In July 2018, Lovato experienced a widely reported relapse and suffered a near-fatal drug overdose. The incident led to hospitalization and a long recovery process. Lovato later described the experience as a wake-up call that forced a deeper confrontation with addiction.
Lovato explored the relapse and recovery process in the 2021 documentary series Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil. In the series, Lovato explained that recovery had been complex and included experimenting with a "California sober" approach—limiting certain substances while avoiding others. Lovato later moved away from that approach and recommitted to full sobriety.

’70s Rock Legend, 80, Announces 2026 Tour Dates With Fellow Iconic Rocker
Fans were thrilled when former Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman John Fogerty announced his 2026 Legacy Tour, scheduled to make stops in cities including Boston, Chicago, Atlantic City and other hot spots. Now classic rock lovers have something else to celebrate...some of those dates will feature another iconic musician on the bill.
Appearing on the same ticket with 80-year-old Fogerty for 13 shows this September will be singer, guitarist and keyboard player Steve Winwood, famed for his work with the bands Traffic and Blind Faith (in addition to his chart-topping solo career).
According to an official Instagram post from Fogerty, the dates featuring Fogerty and Winwood will kick off on September 3 in Tinley Park, Illinois. The legendary pair will visit a variety of East Coast locations, including Bethel, NY and Charlotte, NC before wrapping up in Hollywood, Florida on Sept. 20.
View this post on InstagramTickets go on sale at 10 a.m. local time this Friday, March 13, with presales starting at 10 a.m. local time on Tuesday, March 10. Fogerty will be keeping busy in the months leading up to his joint run with Winwood, as well; he has a number of dates planned in Las Vegas and California this spring, according to his website, and will also be playing Mexico's Festival Vive Latino in March.
When was the last time Steve Winwood went on tour?According to Ultimate Classic Rock, the upcoming shows with Fogerty will be 77-year-old Winwood's first since a brief run of U.S. concerts in September 2025, which followed a longer series of 2024 shows opening for the Doobie Brothers. However, his last major tour was in 2018, and he hasn't released an album since 2008's Nine Lives, which was a top 20 hit in the U.S.
A BBC review of the album praised its "sleek production, laid-back grooves, deep-vein bass lines, sinuous percussion, and instantly singable tunes" (some of which just might feature in his upcoming concerts with Fogerty).
