Mom’s Hack for Flying With Kids Could Change the Way You Travel

Tue, 03/10/2026 - 12:35pm

As a very busy mother of three, I know that hiccups when you travel can really throw your whole trip off. From forgotten essentials, to meltdowns over long lines, the unexpected can often make getting to your destination that much harder. However, one mom says she has an amazing trick for making it easier to fly with kids, and this is honestly one of those "that's so simple why didn't I think of it" kind of ideas.

According to her, this hack is as easy as applying for a credit card, which means its something a lot of parents can try for themselves. Here's what she has to say.

Mom Says Airport Lounges Keep Her Kids Entertained When Traveling

Airport lounges have always seemed like a bougie option that only frequent fliers and high rollers take advantage of. But, according to one mom who shared her travel secret with Business Insider, accessing the airport lounge can help when you're traveling with your children since it gives you a quite space away from the hustle and bustle of the airport to decompress, especially when you have some downtime between flights.

"During layovers, instead of looking for a place to set up camp on the floor or a hard chair by the gate, we now find the closest lounge and settle into comfortable seats with plenty of space to spread out," Jamie Davis Smith wrote in her essay about her travel trick.

Not only that, but Davis Smith says that it's an inexpensive way to refuel. "Plus, my growing children always have access to unlimited food and drinks," she continued. "Not only has this saved me a ton of money, but the food is usually better than what we would get in the terminal."

And, depending on the airport you're in, your lounge could have a ton of other perks as well, like sofas, computers, televisions, and more.

How Can You Access Airport Lounges

While Davis Smith says she was able to gain access to a number of airport lounges after opening a premium travel card, getting approved for a high-end card isn't the only way to get these perks.

A Redditor posed the question in the Travel Hack subreddit, asking people how to gain entry to these exclusive parts of the airport. According to commentors, there are a few different options, depending on how often you fly. One person suggested applying for a US Bank card, which offers a 12-month Priority Pass, giving cardholders a sneak peek at what it would look like to have full airport lounge access.

View this post on Instagram

Another person said that you can get access when you fly certain airlines, like the Delta Skyclub lounges. However, this method also has certain criteria that has to be met before you can enter the lounge according to Delta's website, which includes:

  • Paying for an annual membership
  • Holding a certain credit card, like the Platinum Card from American Express
  • LATAM Business Class Passenger flying internationally

Another person said you can sometimes pay out of pocket to access an airport lounge when you arrive. "Usually, the website for your departure airport will have a list of lounges and show you which ones have a general admission," they wrote. "I did that a few years ago at the HelloSky lounge at FCO because I was waiting on my dad to show up a few hours later."

Not Everyone Loves Airport Lounges

While Davis Smith and a number of Reddit users swear by the airport lounges, there are some people who say they've become too accessible these days, which dilutes the perks of using them. People on Reddit sited long lines, poorly made meals, and crowded seating areas as some of the reasons why they just opt to pop into a restaurant in one of the airport terminals instead.

I don't know, I can see the benefits to having access to an airline lounge, even if you decide to skip crowded lounges in favor of quieter restaurants at times. Sometimes just knowing there's a spot where it's okay to spread out and let your kids relax for a moment is worth a few extra bucks, especially on those long layovers where there's little else to do and you don't want to take up the valuable time of a restaurant server who needs to turn your table over so they can continue to bring in more tips.

Golfer Gary Woodland Reveals Devastating PTSD Struggle After Brain Surgery: ‘I Feel Like I’m Dying'

Tue, 03/10/2026 - 12:31pm

Golfer Gary Woodland is opening up about his devastating battle with PTSD as he navigates the PGA Tour.

Woodland, 41, who is known for winning the 2019 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach, revealed in a new interview with the Golf Channel that he was diagnosed with PTSD after his September 2023 brain surgery to remove a lesion on his brain.

"Every week, I come out and everyone is so excited and happy that I'm back,” Woodland shared with the network. “I hear that every week: 'It's so nice to see you passed this. It's so nice to see you 100%,' And I appreciate that love and support, but inside, I feel like I'm dying.”

Woodland went on to say that he "feels like I'm living a lie. And I don't want to waste energy on that anymore. I want to focus my energy on me and my recovery, my dreams out here, my family. I don't want to waste energy hiding this."

When Did Woodland Notice Things Were Going Wrong?

In the interview, Woodland revealed several moments of struggle after his surgery. Back in 2024, he was reduced to tears in the middle of the fairway.

"I stepped aside, I pulled my caddie and said, 'This stuff is hitting me, man. You can't let anybody get behind me,' " he said. "Next thing you know, I couldn't remember what I was doing. My eyesight started to get blurry. And a hole later, I just said, 'Butch, I can't handle it.' And I start bawling in the middle of the fairway. It was my turn to hit, and I couldn't hit," he recalled.

Woodland went on to say that at times he's found himself "crying in the scorer trailer. Running to my car to hide it because I'm scared." However, he's not determined to let those feelings out, instead of hiding them from the world. "I don't want to live that way anymore," he added.

Will Gary Woodland Continue to Play?

Despite the advice of his doctors, Woodland is determined to keep playing.

"Doctors have said in an ideal world, I'm probably not playing," he told the Golf Channel. "I'm probably not in a stressful, overstimulating environment. But my response was, in an ideal world, I don't have [PTSD]. [Golf] is my dream, this is what I'm going to do, and no matter how hard it is, I'm going to play."

This Florida Hot Spot Was Named a Top Summer Destination—And, No, It's Not Disney

Tue, 03/10/2026 - 12:27pm

When I first thought of Kissimmee, Florida, I pictured a place full of families hopping from one theme park to the next. But after spending time there and diving into travel data, I discovered that Kissimmee itself is becoming one of the most appealing summer travel destinations in the United States. According to WalletHub’s “Best Summer Travel Destinations” study that focused on top 2026 trips, the larger Orlando‑Kissimmee‑Sanford metro area ranked among the best in the country based on accessibility, number of attractions, and overall vacation value.

That ranking doesn’t just put Kissimmee on the map as a hub for theme park fun. It highlights a mix of budget‑friendly travel, abundant activities, and Southern hospitality that appeals to families, couples, and solo adventurers alike. Travelers planning a summer trip are increasingly looking for places that balance excitement with ease of travel, and Kissimmee checks many of those boxes.

Be the first to know about new travel trends, tips, and tales—subscribe now.

Outdoor Adventures and Nature Experiences Worth Exploring

For many travelers, a Florida vacation means beaches and boardwalks. Kissimmee invites you to explore something a little different: freshwater lakes, sweeping marshlands, and trails where you can connect with Florida’s wild side. Here are some spots to check out on your next trip to Kissimmee:

  • Lake Tohopekaliga (Lake Toho) – The largest lake in Osceola County, perfect for kayaking, airboat tours, fishing, and birdwatching. Anglers can try their luck at largemouth bass while spotting local wildlife along the shores.
  • Kissimmee Lakefront Park – A scenic waterfront retreat ideal for picnics, sunset strolls, birdwatching, biking, and playground fun for kids. A calm alternative to the excitement of nearby Orlando attractions.
  • Shingle Creek Regional Park – Explore shaded trails and serene waterways that feed into the Florida Everglades. Hike, paddle, or enjoy birdwatching while soaking in the sounds of Florida’s natural landscape.

Classic Fun and Local Flavor Beyond the Theme Parks

Kissimmee’s draw isn’t just its outdoor beauty. It also boasts quirky attractions and local culture that make a long weekend feel like a full vacation in its own right. Old Town Kissimmee is a beloved entertainment district that immerses visitors in retro Florida charm. With around seventy shops, restaurants, bars, and attractions, it feels like a vibrant pop‑culture museum come alive. One of the highlights is the classic Ferris wheel, a perfect backdrop for sunset photos, and the weekly car cruise that has become an unofficial local tradition.

Of course, proximity to world‑class theme parks remains a major appeal. Kissimmee is just a short drive to Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort, SeaWorld, and LEGOLAND Florida, making it one of the most convenient bases for exploring Central Florida’s big attractions while still enjoying laid‑back evenings and local hidden gems.

But there’s plenty to enjoy right in town. For example, the Osceola County Welcome Center and History Museum offers a fascinating look at the region’s past, including historic pioneer village buildings and interactive exhibits that reveal how early settlers lived and worked.

Shoppers and casual explorers will also find delight at The Loop, a large outdoor mall in Kissimmee with a variety of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options, perfect for fitting in a bit of retail therapy between lake trips and theme park days.

A Traveler’s Takeaway: Summer in Kissimmee Is More Than a Stopover

When friends ask me why they should visit Kissimmee even if they’ve already been to Orlando’s theme parks, I tell them this: Kissimmee invites you to see Florida on two very different scales.

Don't miss a beat—subscribe now for trending travel updates and destination guides.

On one hand, there’s the high‑energy fun that draws millions to this part of the Sunshine State every year. On the other, there’s a slower rhythm — paddling peaceful waters, watching pelicans soar at sunrise, and discovering quirky roadside attractions that feel uniquely Floridian. Whether you’re chasing thrills, nature, or local flavor, Kissimmee is more than just a stopover on the way to big parks. It’s a travel story worth exploring.

'X-Files' Gillian Anderson, 57, Stuns on Paris Fashion Week Runway, Crushing Myths About Aging

Tue, 03/10/2026 - 12:14pm

Anyone who's been following career trajectory (or wonderful social shares) of actor Gillian Anderson, 57, knows she's at her absolute most fabulous—and quite possibly getting better every day. The former X-Files actress's stunning jaunt down a moss-covered runway in Paris proves one thing—the fashion industry has been absolutely sleeping on age diversity. More please!

A glowy-skinned Anderson recently closed the Miu Miu show, walking the runway in a cream shift dress with sequin embroidery and a 90s-style zig-zag headband. The fashion show—the Fall/Winter 2026 collection by designer Miuccia Prada titled "Mindful Intimacy"— included a few more 50+ women on its runway, too, including actor and former model Chloë Sevigny, 51, and model Kristen McMenamy, 61. However, it was especially refreshing to see the petite Anderson, just 5' 3", close down the show.

While more and more, fashion houses are including the diversity of such famous "surprise" guests on their catwalks, there's definitely more room to grow in terms of age and body diversity.

Gillian Anderson is no stranger to breaking barriers for women, including other actors and older women. Whether in the spicy role a sex therapist Dr. Jean Milburn on Netflix’s Sex Education or with her 2024 book Want, a collection of essays and experiences submitted to Anderson by anonymous women, Anderson is not staying in any mythical lane paved in stereotypes.

The follow-up book to Anderson's Want collection—titled More: Sexual Fantasies by Anonymous—is available for pre-order now and scheduled for release September 15, 2026.

1991 Hit Ranked Among 'Greatest Songs of All Time' Became a True Classic

Tue, 03/10/2026 - 12:03pm

In 1991, R.E.M. released a song that would become one of the most defining tracks of the alternative rock era.

Their single, "Losing My Religion," quickly became a global hit and continues to earn recognition decades later. The song was recently included in the book The 100 Greatest Songs of All Time by Carolyn McHugh, further cementing its reputation as one of the most influential songs in modern music.

Released as the lead single from the band’s album Out of Time, "Losing My Religion" stood out for its unusual instrumentation. Instead of relying on a traditional electric guitar hook, the track is driven by a distinctive mandolin melody played by guitarist Peter Buck, giving the song its instantly recognizable sound.

On an episode of Rick Rubin's Broken Record podcast, singer Michael Stipe revealed that the lyrics started out just a little bit differently.

"I changed one lyric, I remember... [Instead of] 'that's me in a corner, that's me in the spotlight,' [it previously was] 'that's me in the corner, that's me in the kitchen,'" he said.

"So, what I was pulling from was being the shy wallflower who hangs back at the party, or at the dance, and doesn't go up to the person that you're madly in love with and say, 'I've kind of got a crush on you. How do you feel about me?' So there's this whole relationship that's happening only in the person's mind. And he doesn't know whether he's said too much or hasn't said enough."

Despite its title, the song is not about religion. Lead singer Michael Stipe has explained that the phrase "losing my religion" is a Southern expression meaning to lose one's patience or composure, particularly when dealing with complicated emotions.

The track resonated strongly with audiences around the world. It reached the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and helped introduce the band to an even wider audience beyond their already devoted alternative rock fan base.

"Losing My Religion" also received major recognition at the Grammy Awards in 1992, winning two Grammys including Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.

Its impact was amplified by the song's visually striking music video, which became a staple on MTV during the early 1990s and helped turn the track into one of the most recognizable songs of the decade.

More than thirty years later, "Losing My Religion" remains one of R.E.M.'s signature songs. It's an unforgettable alternative rock classic that continues to influence artists and captivate listeners around the world.

Dance Icon Jenna Dewan on Joining 'Dancing With the Stars': 'I Never Say Never'

Tue, 03/10/2026 - 12:01pm

Jenna Dewan may or may not have just been convinced to bring her epic dance skills to the Dancing with the Stars ballroom floor.

Chatting with Lara Spenceron Good Morning America on Monday, the 'Step Up' icon was asked if she'd ever participate in the dance competition show.

View this post on Instagram

"The thing with me is like I never say never because I love dancing so much and I miss it so much," she said. "I just already know myself that it would be one of those really hard things to say no to."

"I mean I've never ballroom danced so it would be hard, " she added. "I have so much respect for everyone on that show. It's really difficult, it's difficult to dance like that, that hard, that long, week after week, it's really amazing what they do."

Dewan, 45, is no stranger to dance competition shows as she was a judge of NBC's World of Dance and more recently, CBS' Come Dance With Me. She also guest judged on Dancing with the Stars in 2018 and noted that she's friends with Derek Hough during her interview.

"Derek's gonna be like, 'So Jen you're doing this,'" she joked.

In the comments of the interview clip shared to Instagram, fans agreed she'd be great on the show.

"She would SLAY on that stage," one said.

"Jenna on DWTS?? I’d be unwell in the BEST way," added another.

The two share a 12-year-old daughter, Everly.

Tatum, a dancer himself who, along with Dewan, also became a household name after 'Step Up' and later went on to star in the 'Magic Mike' franchise, has also been mentioned by pro Witney Carson when it comes to joining Dancing with the Stars.

"I always Channing Tatum because 'Step Up' was like one of my first movies and loves so I would love Channing Tatum," she told E! News in an interview in January. "But he would never, and he's so popular too."

Lainey Wilson Is Nearly Unrecognizable Without Signature Wardrobe Staple: 'She Looks Way Different'

Tue, 03/10/2026 - 11:54am

Lainey Wilson threw her fans for a loop with her latest red carpet ensemble.

While making an appearance at the Los Angeles premiere of the new film Reminders of Him, the country superstar strayed from her signature style by ditching her usual cowboy hat accessory, making her almost unrecognizable.

The "Somewhere Over Laredo" singer is almost alway seen wearing a cowboy hat—or even least a baseball cap—in most photos, leaving some of her fans unable to tell it was her during her hatless appearance on Monday, March 9.

While gracing the red carpet at the Hollywood Legion Theater, Wilson, 33, sported a pair of sleek black pants and a partially-sheer black lace top, which had a long, ruffled train that draped behind her. The singer's hair was pulled back into a messy low bun updo, without a cowboy hat in sight.

Someone on Threads said the "Heart Like a Truck" singer "looks way different" without her signature accessory, while several of Wilson's Instagram followers said they "barely recognized" her without a hat.

"I have never [seen] a picture of her without a cowboy hat on," one user wrote, insisting that Wilson is "Beautiful both with and without" the stylish accessory.

One user noted that going hat-less is "very different look" for Wilson, while another said it was "so nice" to see her without a hat for the rare occasion.

"We love a no hat moment & girl is still slaying 🔥" someone else commented.

Wilson makes her feature film debut in the upcoming movie, Reminders of Him, based on Colleen Hoover's book of the same name. Though she plays a small role, Wilson said it was an "honor" to be part of the cast, which also includes Tyriq Withers, Maika Monroe, Rudy Pankow, Lauren Graham and more.

"This incredible team welcomed me into their world with open arms," Wilson wrote in an Instagram post shared after the premiere. "It was an honor to play a small part.

Move Over Empire State Building: There’s a New Way to See NYC’s Skyline (And It’s Free)

Tue, 03/10/2026 - 11:54am

New York City is famous for its skyline views. Travelers often line up to visit observation decks at iconic towers like the Empire State Building or the One World Observatory, where tickets can cost $40 or more. But starting this summer, there will be a brand-new way to take in sweeping views of the city, and it won’t cost a thing.

Beginning in June 2026, the rooftop of the historic David N. Dinkins Municipal Building in Lower Manhattan will open to the public for free guided tours. For more than a century, the building has towered over the area near City Hall, but its uppermost vantage point has largely been closed off to the public, until now.

Perched at the top of the building’s central tower, the observation area sits roughly 36 floors above the streets of Lower Manhattan, offering visitors panoramic views across the city. From this vantage point, guests will be able to see landmarks such as the Brooklyn Bridge, the East River, and the skyscrapers of Midtown stretching north.

View this post on Instagram A Historic Building Finally Opening Its Views

The Beaux-Arts landmark was completed in 1914 and designed by the famed architecture firm McKim, Mead & White. Originally built as a grand municipal office building during the “City Beautiful” movement, it was meant to showcase the power and beauty of civic architecture.

Interestingly, the building was originally intended to include a public observation deck. But that plan never fully materialized, leaving the tower’s best views accessible only to city officials for decades.

That’s about to change thanks to a roughly $6 million restoration project that includes safety upgrades, glass barriers, and renovations to the historic rotunda and cupola. Once complete, small guided groups will be able to reserve free tickets online and visit the top of the building for one of the most unique skyline perspectives in the city.

What You’ll See From the Top

Unlike many observation decks that focus on Midtown or Central Park views, the Dinkins Building vantage point offers a distinctive look at Lower Manhattan’s architecture and waterfront.

From above, visitors will see the towers of the World Trade Center complex, including the soaring One World Trade Center. You’ll also get a bird’s-eye view of the busy streets around City Hall Park, where government buildings and historic architecture meet modern skyscrapers.

What to Do Nearby

One of the best parts of this new attraction is its location. The Dinkins Municipal Building sits in the heart of Lower Manhattan, meaning there’s plenty to explore nearby.

A short walk away is the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, where visitors can reflect on the events of September 11 while viewing the twin reflecting pools that sit in the footprints of the original World Trade Center towers.

Travelers can also stroll through Brooklyn Bridge Park after crossing the Brooklyn Bridge, offering another iconic skyline view, this time from across the East River.

For food lovers, the nearby Seaport District NYC is filled with restaurants, rooftop bars, and waterfront views along the East River.

View this post on Instagram A Rare Free Skyline Experience

In a city where skyline views often come with steep ticket prices, the new observation deck is a refreshing change. By offering free access to a historic building and its incredible views, the city is giving both locals and visitors another reason to explore Lower Manhattan.

And while New York will always have famous observation decks, this new spot proves something important: sometimes the best view of the city isn’t the one everyone already knows about.

Starting this summer, one of New York’s most spectacular skyline views will finally be open to everyone, and it won’t cost a dollar.

I Tried Great Wolf Lodge's New Ranch Milkshake: Here's My Honest Review

Tue, 03/10/2026 - 11:51am

Folks, I may have whimsied too close to the sun because when the Great Wolf Lodge released a ranch milkshake for a limited time, my DMs were full. My friends and family members immediately thought of me. They sent news posts about the shake and jokingly asked if I was going to make the trip to try one. But as Parade’s ranch expert—a title I gave myself—this was a serious matter. Naturally, I made plans to get to The Great Wolf Lodge as soon as possible.

Thankfully, the resort was also in my DMs with details about the shake. In January, I visited them to preview of their Valentine's Romance on the River. Despite ranch not being featured on the 8-course menu, I still had a great time. And since my husband had to parent our kids while I "worked," I brought a plushie of a bottle of ranch as my date. Could I have inspired them? Probably not—I was informed that this shake took some serious testing, but there’s a chance I was their muse of sorts.

So now that you know I'm a credible ranch connoisseur (and a little crazy), let’s get right to it. Is it good? Yes. Like genuinely yes, but—you knew there was going to be a but—I don’t know if it’s humanly possible to drink the entire milkshake on your own. Thankfully, this shake is multipurpose. Let’s dive in.

😋😋 SIGN UP to get delicious recipes, handy kitchen hacks & more in our daily Parade Eats newsletter. 🍳🍔

What Is the Great Wolf Lodge Ranch Milkshake?

“This sweet and tangy shake blends vanilla ice cream and ranch dressing, garnished with crispy chicken, carrots, celery, whipped cream, and a sweet, salty lime rim.”

Related: Great Wolf Lodge is the Perfect Valentine’s Day Destination (Really!)

Meet Great Wolf Lodge's new ranch milkshake.

Great Wolf Lodge

What Does It Taste Like?

Shockingly, just like ranch. Maybe it’s a little on the sweeter side, but I truly felt like I had put a crazy straw into a bottle of ranch and was sipping away. It’s a little bit of a mind melt, to be honest (and brand-safe). I knew it was a milkshake, but my body was definitely confused. It was genuinely delicious but felt naughty—like when you order something wild and comforting after a night of drinking. I kept going for more and more sips.

And if you think about it, it makes sense why this works. Ranch is herbs, buttermilk, salt, garlic, and onion mixed into a mayonnaise or oil base. So replacing the dairy and creamy elements with ice cream isn’t too far from its origin. The chefs did a good job balancing out the sweetness of the ice cream with the herbs to make sure each complemented each other and worked together. I will say the garnishes and the lime salt rim on the drink really take it from a fun, enjoyable drink to something worth talking about. Dipping the chicken in it was divine—especially after a lick of the lime salt rim.

The few misses were that the whipped cream didn’t also taste like ranch, therefore it made dipping right into the ranchy goodness slightly difficult. I know how ridiculous that sounds, but this is journalism, okay? And the fact it tasted so much like ranch was fantastic, but jarring to the system. I don’t know if many people could drink an entire cup of it. Maybe dip and sip combo. Or split it with an equally ranch-loving person. Or your whole family! I did see a dad proudly holding one as his young daughter dipped a popcorn chicken into it. I asked if he enjoyed it and he gave a rather shocked, “Actually yeah!”

The garnishes and salty lime rim take it from a fun drink to something worth talking about. The Inspiration Behind the Ranch Milkshake

Great Wolf Lodge knows their guests love America’s true favorite condiment and wanted to come up with a fun way to celebrate that for National Ranch Day. As I mentioned in my previous article, Great Wolf Lodge is working hard to elevate their food offerings. I got to talk to Luke Polles—Director of Food And Beverage—and he explained how they are listening to visitor feedback in order to introduce new menu items and see how they can improve.

For example, the food team at the lodge went through a lot of testing to make sure their pizza was fit for the many customers from New York City and New Jersey during that visit. I can confirm the pizza is great and goes so well with the shake. They are hoping to expand more on their limited menus to create more fun for their guests, so maybe ketchup will get a moment to shine in the future!

How to Get the Ranch Milkshake

This work of art is available for a limited time at all 22 U.S. lodges—except Anaheim—from March 5–May 20, 2026. On National Ranch Day, guests can sip the shake for just $3.10. In this economy, that's a steal.

At the Poconos location, I was able to order this at Buckets Burgers & Bites right inside the waterpark. Looks like you might have to splurge on a day pass in order to get it, though the friendly folks at the lodge might be able to help you secure one if you ask nicely.

Drinks include the Springtime Bourbon Peach Tea and Tito's Orangeberry Crush. For the mocktail lovers, there's the non-alcoholic Firefly—made with Starry, lemonade, strawberry puree, pineapple juice and a few gummy bears.

There are also new food choices—like Chicken Crunch Salad, Fire Grilled Skewer Trio, Big Wolf Combo BBQ Platter, Garlic Herb Roasted Prime Rib and the Wolf Brownie Ice Cream Tower.

Look, if you own a ‘My blood type is ranch’ t-shirt (guilty) I expect you’re already in your car heading to the Great Wolf Lodge. If you’re a bit more chill about ranch, I would still recommend it—but maybe treat the shake like a fishbowl drink. Best served with a couple of straws and some friends with a great sense of humor. Oh, and don't forget that basket of popcorn chicken.

With its light and airy texture and picture-perfect appearance, it's easy to see why it's become a cult favorite among Sam's Club members who eagerly await its return, especially with a price point that's hard to beat for a cake of its size and quality.

Earning a reputation as the ultimate spring dessert, the cake, which can easily serve 12 to 16, retails for under $18, though prices vary by club and location.

The towering layer cake got a warm reception online, as Sam's Club Food Review shared a video of the cakes resting in the store fridge, writing, "Many of you have been waiting all year for this one and the wait is finally over. The Member’s Mark Coconut Cake has officially returned to the Sam’s Club bakery just in time for Easter."

"Delicious favorite," one fan noted, as many others simply declared of the long-awaited return, "Finally."

Nancy Guthrie Exclusive: Behind Closed Doors, Investigators May Be Closer to a Break Than You Think

Tue, 03/10/2026 - 11:46am

Much of the work in the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie is happening out of public view, with investigators quietly following leads, analyzing evidence, and coordinating behind the scenes. While updates to the media are limited, law enforcement sources say the case continues to move forward through careful, methodical work that rarely makes headlines.

Guthrie, 84, has been missing since Sunday, Feb. 1. Despite receiving thousands of tips, the Pima County Sheriff's Department and the FBI haven't shared any significant updates in the case. While it may seem as though things are slowing down, authorities are still working diligently in hopes of bringing Guthrie home.

As things seemed to have quieted down in recent weeks, Parade reached out to former NYPD detective David Sarni to get a better understanding of what's going on behind the scenes as the public anxiously awaits answers.

"When it comes to any criminal investigation, especially this high-profile, there may be information excluded from the media. If there is an identified person(s) and the police have been unable to locate him or her, a photo and name may be released to the public requesting their assistance. If there is a suspect but not enough evidence for an arrest, that person may be kept under surveillance until an arrest can be made," Sarni, a professor at John Jay College, tells Parade.

The search for Nancy Guthrie continues on.

NBC/TODAY

"Police will not release anything pertinent. Police and the media have a love/hate relationship. We depend on each other but hate it when we can't. Examples demonstrating this include when a story breaks from leaked police information, which can jeopardize the case if put out to the public or when police don't detail every aspect of an investigation, making the media feels stonewalled," he adds.

"A case is never cold; the case may feel as if nothing is being done, but there may be administrative items awaiting results. These include things like subpoenas, phone records, social media documentation, lab results, etc. With a multitude of data mining and data input taking place, it's labor-intensive," Sarni continues, adding, "Once that information comes in and it is deemed probative, further work is done. That work happens behind the scenes where it is not as enthralling as a foot or vehicle pursuit. It's the part of police work no one likes to experience. The hurry up and wait part of the job is there and it can be frustrating."

Sarni also tells me that if tips are sent in, the person who sends them may not always get a response. This doesn't mean the tip was ignored. Instead, Sarni suggests that the lead may already have been called in. It's also possible the tip was already checked out or that authorities already have a suspect they are keeping tabs on.

As much as people want to see a resolution in the Guthrie case, it's important to allow authorities to do their jobs. While things may seem quiet, it doesn't necessarily mean they are.

'Pinch Me! I'm in shock and tears!' George Michael's Long-Lost Concert Film Has Fans Rejoicing

Tue, 03/10/2026 - 11:45am

Ten years after George Michael's death, his estate just gave fans an enormous musical gift: a concert film that vanished for nearly 40 years has been found, restored, and is heading to cinemas worldwide.

George Michael Entertainment and Mercury Studiosannounced Tuesday that George Michael: The Faith Tour, a feature-length film shot on 35mm across two nights in Paris in 1988, will receive a global theatrical release later this year, alongside an 18-track live album of previously unheard recordings from his Wham! and solo catalogues.

The footage was captured at the iconic Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy during the European leg of the Faith Tour, filmed with 14 cameras and then sat unseen for dacades. The estate recently unearthed it, spent considerable time restoring and remastering it, and is now preparing to share it with the world.

George was just 24 when he performed those Paris shows. The Faith Tour itself was a milestone moment. It was his first solo tour, launched after his debut album Faith earned him a Grammy for Album of the Year and produced four No. 1 singles including 'Father Figure' and 'One More Try.' At that point in his career, he was transforming from the sunny half of Wham! into a pop force who would go on to help define the sound and mood of a generation.

Related: 'Twisted Sister' Names '80s Rock Legend as Dee Snider's Replacement

The film was directed byAndy Morahan and David Austin, two of his closest longtime collaborators. Austin, who has managed Michael's estate since his passing on Christmas Day 2016, also co-directed the 2017 documentary George Michael: Freedom. That film was beloved by fans, but this one promises something very different. Rather than a retrospective, it's a you-are-there experience with the screaming crowd and a 24-year-old Michael at the top of his game.

When the teaser dropped Tuesday, the reaction was immediate. Fans flooded the comments about what they see as the entertainment news of the year. 'If it's a full concert this is massively significant.' one fan said. 'Pinch Me!! I'm in shock and tears!' another added. 'This is the George Michael news we've been waiting so long for.'

George, of course, was always meticulous about his image and his craft, which makes it all the more remarkable that this footage sat unreleased for so long.

No specific release date has been set yet, though the film is confirmed for sometime in 2026, the year marking the 10th anniversary of his passing. The accompanying live album will feature recordings from across both his Wham! years and his solo catalogue, offering a fuller picture of where he was musically at that time.

For anyone who grew up with George Michael's music, and for the millions who discovered him after he was gone, this is sure to spur a little 'faith' of their own.

Famous Cathedral That Went Viral for Its Gothic Look Will Start Charging for Entry

Tue, 03/10/2026 - 11:43am

Cologne, Germany is home to the Cologne Cathedral, a Gothic-style church that features two tall spires that reach towards the heavens and stunning stained glass windows that fill the inside of the building with a colorful light.

The church has long been one of the most popular cites for visitors to the region, and it was even added to the UNESCO World Heritage List due to it being one the oldest pilgrimage cites in Northern Europe. It also grew in popularity thanks to TikTok's obsession with its haunting, gothic facade.

@yas_bdd

This is one of the most fascinating cathedrals in Europe… Cologne Cathedral. With its massive spires and perfect Gothic design, it gives off a mysterious, almost otherworldly aura. Some say, no other cathedral feels quite like it. Not only is it one of the largest in the world, but it’s also surrounded by legends… #cologne #colognegermany #colognecathedral #koln🇩🇪 #koln #kolncathedral #aura

Now, the church says that those who make the trek to the beautiful cathedral should expect to pay for the privilege, after they annouced plans to add an admission fee. However, it seems like officials have a really good reason for asking patrons to pay to see the church, and I think you'll agree that it's a worthwhile investment for those looking to see the inside of the centuries old building.

Cologne to Charge Visitors a Fee to Enter Cathedral

The picturesque Cologne Cathedral will get a little bit more expensive to travel to, after church officials annouced that they would begin charging an entry fee later this year. The news was shared March 5, according to EuroNews. While the announcement didn't list how much the fee would be, or when it would begin, officials did note that they needed the money to help offset the rising costs of maintaining the gothic structure.

That's likely due to the age of the church. Construction of the cathedral began in 1248, according to the UNESCO World Heritage Convention. It then took builders more than seven centuries, 632 years in fact, to complete construction, and the costs associated with caring for and repairing the blackened limestone, carved oak choir stalls, choir screens, and statues included throughout the church are likely quite high these days.

View this post on Instagram The Cathedral is an Important Religious Relic

Visitors often come to the church to see some of the many works of art located inside the building, which the UNESCO World Heritage Convention says includes:

  • The Gero Crucifix
  • The Shrine of the Magi
  • The Altarpiece of St. Clare
  • The Altarpiece of the City Patrons by Stephan Lochner
  • The Altarpiece of St. Agilolphus

The church was added to UNESCO's list due to its "Outstanding Universal Value." These days, a Steering Committee is in charge of protecting the church and supervising the work and maintenance performed on the building.

Church Admission Fees Aren't New

While it may feel weird at first to think of people being charged to enter a church, it's actually not that uncommon for historic or landmark buildings, according to the Episcopal News Service. Old North Church in Boston charges its hundreds of thousands of annual visitors an entry fee, according to the religious publication.

The Washington National Cathedral in Washington D.C. and The Cathedral of St. John the Devine in New York can be added to the list of churches that charge an admission fee, and they began asking visitors to pay to enter the church back in 2014 and 2017, respectively. That being said, it looks like many fees are kept low enough as to prevent people from coming in to see the sights, with many fees appearing to amount to less than $15 per person.

I personally would be more than happy to pay a small fee to visit a site like the Cologne Cathedral, especially knowing just how much history and importance the building holds.

Iconic ’70s Singer, With No. 1 Hit Song, Turns 72

Tue, 03/10/2026 - 11:24am

The English pop and disco artist who rose to fame in the 1970s Tina Charles turned 72 on Tuesday.

Charles' most famous song would be her 1976 single "I Love to Love (But my Baby Loves to Dance)," which reached No. 1 on the U.K. charts that year.

RELATED: 1976 Timeless Classic Was a No. 1 Hit 50 Years Ago Today

She got her career started singing backup and in studio recording sessions in the late '60s. Her first solo single, "Nothing in the World" (1969), featured the then-unknown Elton John on piano. In 1971, Charles performed two covers of "River Deep – Mountain High" by Tina Turner and "Ruby Tuesday" by The Rolling Stones while appearing on the BBC sketch comedy show The Two Ronnies.

After Charles recorded the lead vocals on 5000 Volts' hit 1975 single "I'm On Fire," the song rocketed up the U.K. Singles Chart and reached No. 4, as well as No. 26 on the Billboard Hot 100.

In 1975, Charles collaborated with music producer Biddu to produce "I Love to Love" and "You Set My Heart on Fire" (1976). Biddu also worked with Charles on her other hit single "Dance Little Lady Dance (1976), helping Charles sit for 42 weeks on the U.K. Singles Chart in 1976 alone.

Her fifth studio album, Heart 'n' Soul, released in 1977, reaching No. 35 on the U.K. Albums Chart.

While Charles was able to make it big across Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, she was never able to reach mainstream success in the U.S., save for "You Set My Heart on Fire."

As disco's popularity started to decline toward the 1980s, Charles decided to dedicate some time of her life toward her family life and raising her son, Max. Charles started performing and touring again in 2000, with her last album, Feels Like Sunday, releasing in 2008.

Sarah Jane Ramos Responds to Rumor Prenup Caused Dak Prescott Split

Tue, 03/10/2026 - 11:22am

Sarah Jane Ramos is addressing rumors that her split from Dak Prescott was caused by her refusal to sign a prenup.

In 2024, the Dallas Cowboys quarterback signed a massive four-year, $240 million contract with the team. The deal included an $80 million signing bonus and $231 million in total guarantees, with an average annual salary of $60 million.

To address the rumors, Ramos commented on an Instagram video featuring Speakeasy talk show co-hosts Emmanuel Acho and LeSean McCoy, who debated the topic of pre-nuptial agreements in the context of Ramos and Prescott's breakup.

In the video, Acho and McCoy included a screenshot of an X post alleging, "The rumor is that Dak spent the last few months pushing hard for a rock-solid prenup to protect his new bag, and she flat-out refused to sign it."

In the comment section, Ramos debunked the rumor, writing, "This had nothing to do with a prenup. I hope we can put that rumor to rest now."

Ramos and Prescott reportedly confirmed their nuptials were canceled in an email sent to guests following rumors a “blowup argument” occurred at the pair’s joint bachelor and bachelorette parties in the Bahamas over the weekend.

Ramos’ representative later confirmed the split to People, saying that Ramos and Prescott are “both heartbroken that they’re not getting married,” noting, “there wasn’t any rockiness in the lead up, and there was no big argument or blow up. It was a mutual decision.”

“They love their girls, and they’re committed to raising their children together in the most loving and positive way,” the rep added. “It’s still shocking for them since this happened so recently, and they ask for privacy while they sort everything out.”

The pair were scheduled to get married in Lake Como, Italy, on April 10.

Ramos and the Dallas Cowboys quarterback were first linked in September 2023, and got engaged a year later in October 2024. The couple shares two daughters: Margaret Jane Rose, 2, and Aurora Rayne, 10 months.

Priyanka Chopra Reveals Who Really Wrote Most of Her Brutal Jonas Brothers Roast Jokes

Tue, 03/10/2026 - 11:21am

Priyanka Chopra had arguably one of the most memorable sets during Netflix’s Jonas Brothers Family Roast—but according to the actress, she didn’t come up with many of those jokes on her own.

During her conversation on Not Skinny but Not Faton Tuesday, March 10, Chopra, 43, revealed a behind-the-scenes detail that surprised even longtime fans of the couple: her husband, Nick Jonas, actually helped write most of the jokes she delivered about him on stage.

While discussing the now-viral roast moment, Chopra explained that although writers initially worked on the material, it was Jonas, 33, who ended up shaping much of the final set. “Of course, some of the writers wrote it, but I don't know if many people know this, but Nick wrote most of it for me,” she said.

The couple’s dynamic was on full display during the 2021 Netflix special, where Chopra delivered several brutal one-liners about the Jonas Brothers—including the jab about her having more Instagram followers than the entire band combined.

According to Chopra, her husband’s willingness to poke fun at himself made the process even easier. “I asked him,” she explained. “I was like, ‘Here, I want you to read it and give me your thoughts,’ and he just made it better.”

🎬 SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬

That sense of humor is part of what makes their relationship work, she added, noting that Jonas is extremely confident and comfortable with himself. “That’s how self-assured he is,” she said.

The actress also shared a funny glimpse into their everyday relationship, revealing that despite her high-powered career, she often happily lets her husband take the lead when they travel together. “When we go to the airport… all I do is follow Nick. I have no idea,” she joked. “When I'm traveling by myself I'm a boss, I know exactly where I'm going. But when I'm with Nick I'm just like, ‘Wait, what? Where are we going? Where's the gate?’”

Chopra said that confidence and decisiveness were part of what drew her to the singer early in their relationship. “I think I was sure because he was sure,” she said.

The couple got engaged in July 2018 and married later that year in a lavish multi-day celebration in India that included both Hindu and Christian ceremonies. They welcomed their daughter, Malti, via surrogate in January 2022.
