Crystal Fishhook Earrings, $13 (was $36) at AnthropologieThese bezel-set crystal earrings have a sculptural, vintage-inspired aesthetic that feels simultaneously organic and modern. The metalwork is softly molded rather than rigid, curving around the oval-cut gemstone in a semi-bezel cradle that exposes its facets while giving it a fluid, halo-like frame.
A high-polish finish and slightly domed silhouette create visual weight and a luxe feel, while the slender fishhook back adds a secure hold. The overall effect is a modern heirloom look that nods to antique cocktail jewelry and artisanal metalwork, blending boldness with a handcrafted, molten-metal charm.
The crystal gemstone itself serves as the centerpiece, with its faceted oval shape enhancing the organic flow of the design. There are five colorways currently available, with warm amber-brown, cream, sapphire, and yellow tones complementing gold settings for a rich, earthy palette, and a silver tone paired with deep emerald green for a cooler, more modern finish. Since every color is on sale, you’re getting a stunning, versatile style no matter which shade you choose.

If I'm being truthful, I watch When Calls the Heart not for the ongoing courtship of the two main leads of the show, but for the side characters in the series. One of favorite characters in the series are the Coulters. Lee (Kavan Smith) and Rosemary (Pascale Hutton) Colter have charmed their way into the hearts of the fans of Hallmark Channel's longest running series. The actors have a palpable chemistry and while they are both married to other people with their own families, the two share a familiarity and friendship that spills over from their real life on screen.

The UK’s 'Worst' Theme Park Has Been Left in Ruins One Year After Its Sudden Closure
For the generations of schoolchildren and families who once considered a trip to Pembrokeshire the highlight of their summer, the silence at Oakwood Theme Park is now permanent. Once hailed as Wales’ premier destination for thrill-seekers, the 38-year-old park has officially transitioned from a bustling attraction into a "haunting" landscape of dismantled steel and overgrown pathways, in photos sourced by the Mirror.
After a sudden announcement in March 2025 that the gates would not reopen for the season, the site has spent the last year being systematically stripped of its identity. According to recent dispatches and urban exploration footage from early 2026, the transformation is stark. Iconic skylines have been altered as major rides are removed piece by piece, with some popular attractions, including the high-speed coaster Speed: No Limits, reportedly being shipped to European parks like Walygator Sud-Ouest in France to begin a second life.

View this post on InstagramThe park's owner, Aspro Parks, cited "unrelenting economic challenges"—ranging from skyrocketing electricity costs to the impact of inflation on food and labor—as the primary reasons for the shutdown. Despite a multi-million-pound refurbishment of the legendary wooden coaster Megafobia as recently as 2023, declining visitor numbers ultimately made further investment unsustainable.
In recent years, the park transitioned from a nostalgic favorite to a viral target, frequently branded the "worst theme park in the UK" by a new generation of critics.
The park became a magnet for social media influencers, many of whom visited specifically to document the decline for the entertainment of their followers. This digital "pile-on" was backed up by the numbers: the attraction accumulated well over 1,000 negative reviews on TripAdvisor, with frustrated visitors consistently labeling the site a place to "avoid at all costs!"

While a local effort by Richens Leisure Projects attempted to revive the 90-acre site with a 250 million euro "reinvention" plan last autumn, those hopes were dashed when the owners confirmed the land was not for sale.
Today, the location is a shadow of its former self, guarded by security and counter-surveillance to deter trespassers. For many, the closure marks the end of a "rite of passage," leaving the Pembrokeshire countryside with nothing but the quiet remnants of nearly four decades of memories.

1970 Country Relationship Classic Broke the Rules for Female Artists — and Became a No. 1 Hit
In 1970, a daring, female-led country love song challenged the era's expectations and connected with audiences everywhere.
In the first year of the decade, Lynn Anderson recorded the Joe South song "(I Never Promised You a) Rose Garden" in one take, according to Songfacts. The tune was the title track off her 10th studio album.
"(I Never Promised You a) Rose Garden" was written from a man’s perspective and previously recorded by Freddy Weller, Billy Joe Royal, and Dobie Gray. Anderson later made the tune her own, giving the bold relationship classic a female voice while keeping its warning that love isn’t always easy.
However, Anderson's husband, Glenn Sutton, reportedly didn't think his wife should record the song. In the end, it was Columbia Records executive Clive Davis who had the final say; he loved the song and pushed for its release as a single reported American Songwriter.

Anderson told The Boot that "(I Never Promised You a) Rose Garden" was “popular because it touched on emotions. It was perfectly timed. It was out just as we came out of the Vietnam years, and a lot of people were trying to recover."

She added, “This song stated that you can make something out of nothing. You take it and go ahead. It fit me well, and I’ll be proud to be connected to it until I die."

"(I Never Promised You a) Rose Garden" went on to top the country music charts and crossed over to No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song's success pushed its LP to the top of the charts, and it held the record as the best-selling country album of all time by a female artist until it was dethroned by Shania Twain's 1991 hit, Come on Over.
Rolling Stone ranked the singer at No. 82 of the Greatest Country Singers of All Time. Lynn Anderson died on July 30, 2015. She was 67.
1964 ‘Utterly Perfect’ Classic Was a No. 1 Hit 61 Years Ago Today
1965 was a big year for show tunes.
Rubbing elbows with musical greats like The Beatles, Andy Williams, and Peter, Paul & Mary, movie soundtracks including The Sound of Music, Hello Dolly!, and My Fair Lady were crowding the Top 10 on Billboard’s Albums of the Year chart. But none -- not even Paul McCartney -- could beat the "practically perfect playlist" featured in Mary Poppins on this day 61 years ago.

Released in 1964, Walt Disney’s Mary Poppins starsJulie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke as an enchanting nanny and a charming chimney sweep, respectively, who spend more than two hours entertaining a pair of neglected children with music, magic, and adventure. The film was a massive box-office success that raked in more than $103 million worldwide and became the highest-grossing release that year, and the soundtrack -- well, it achieved historic milestones of its own.
According to Billboard, Mary Poppins, the original cast soundtrack, enjoyed a whopping 48 weeks on its Top200 chart; it was on this day, March 13, in 1965 that the classic record peaked for the first time at No. 1. The album, which racked up 14 nonconsecutive weeks at the top spot, remains a fixture of in the canon of greatest Hollywood soundtracks.
Composed by Richard and Robert Sherman, a.k.a. "The Boys," nicknamed by Walt Disney himself, the final record includes 17 tracks -- 16 songs and one orchestral overture. According to All the Right Movies, it took the Sherman brothers two and a half years to pen the songbook, in large part because they were writing their tunes with no North Star.
“Because there was no final script in place, they had to write songs and hope they fit in somewhere,” the outlet shared. “Richard Sherman said they wrote 34 songs, and almost half of them didn’t make it into the film.”
View this post on InstagramThe outlet also shared that Mary’s signature ditty, “A Spoonful of Sugar,” was inspired by a real-life incident involving the polio vaccine and Richard Sherman’s son. Story is, the little one told his dad doctors gave him the medication on a sugar cube to “make it easier to swallow,” and the legendary tune was born.
“Richard Sherman later said his favorite moment during the entire production was the first time he heard Julie Andrews sing the finished song. He said he started to cry,” ATRM added.
For Van Dyke, he told People his favorite moment was singing "Jolly Holiday" with Andrews, instinctively breaking out into song. “‘Ain't it a beautiful day? Day? Brighter the moment in May. I feel like I could fly.’ There's something about that and the dancer went with it, that was just fun," the entertainer, who just celebrated his 100thbirthday, said.
As for the king of the House of Mouse, Disney said his favorite song was “Feeding the Birds.” According to WaltDisney.org the composers would sing the tune live for him often in his office. And as for Andrews, whom top critic Mark Kermode calls “utterly perfect” and “brilliant” in her performances, she has cited “Chim Chim Cher-ee” as her fave.
A hit at the 37thOscars, the film was nominated for 13 Academy Awards; it won five, with two statues awarded for Best Original Song for “Chim Chim Cher-ee” and Best Music Score, per IMDb. The soundtrack was honored at the 7th annual Grammys, too, taking home two gramophones: Best Original Score and Best Recording for Children. Not to mention the album's many hits -- from “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” to “Let's Go Fly a Kite” -- leapt from the writers’ songbook and into the zeitgeist, where they continue to live on as pop culture phenomena.
In 2014, the soundtrack was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, established by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences trustees, along with George Harrison, Dolly Parton, and Run-D.M.C.
So, as you can see, like the film, the soundtrack and its history is "practically perfect in every way."

1998 Pop Anthem Made Chart History 27 Years Ago Today When It Hit No. 1
Exactly 27 years ago, Cher made history on the U.S. music charts.
On March 13, 1999, Cher was 52 when her smash-hit 1998 single "Believe" hit No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100, making her the oldest female artist at the time to ever reach the top of the chart.
The history-making feat was just the start of Cher's 4-week run at No. 1 with "Believe," which she first released in October 1998 as a single from her album of the same name.
The beloved pop track—famously featuring the lyrics "Do you believe in life after love?" in the chorus—was one of the first mainstream songs to employ the use of Auto-Tune, for a unique vocal sound that became known as the "Cher effect."
View this post on InstagramAt the time "Believe" topped the Hot 100, Cher was the oldest female artist to hit No. 1, while Louis Armstrong still held the record for the oldest person to have a song reach the summit after his version of "Hello, Dolly!" hit No. 1 when he was 62 in May 1964.
Cher would hold the female record for almost 25 years, before being dethroned by Brenda Lee, who was 78 when her holiday classic, "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree," topped the Hot 100 in December 2023. Lee also broke Armstrong's record, becoming the oldest person to ever top the chart.
Cher is still one of the only artists to have at least one new No. 1 on a Billboard songs chart in each of the seven decades from the 1960s through the 2020s. (The Rolling Stones are the only other artists to do so.)
In the '60s, Cher got her first No. 1 on the Hot 100 with the duet "I Got You Babe" in 1965, followed by four No.1's throughout the '70s: "Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves" in 1971, "Half-Breed" in 1973and "Dark Lady" in 1974 on the Hot 100. "All Ever Need Is You," with Sonny, also hit No. 1 on the Adult Contemporary airplay chart in 1971.
In the '80s, "After All," with Peter Cetera, and "If I Could Turn Back Time," both topped Adult Contemporary chart in 1989. "Believe" followed a decade later on the Hot 100 in 1999. ("Strong Enough" and "All or Nothing" also topped the Dance Club Songs list that decade.)
During the '2000s, "Song for the Lonely," and "A Different Kind of Love Song" hit No. 1 on the Dance Club Songs chart in 2002, followed by "When the Money’s Gone" in 2003.
"You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me" topped the same chart in 2011, as did "Woman’s World" in 2013.
For her seventh straight decade, Cher's holiday track "DJ Play a Christmas Song" topped the Dance/Electronic Song Sales chart in 2023.

Quick! You have to defend yourself in active combat with a vegetable, which vegetable are you choosing and why? Would you ward off evil-doers by lobbing an acorn squash in their direction? Do you make nunchucks out of yuca and start swinging? Maybe you're more practical, and instead of thinking about it too much, you'll just swing around a bag of potatoes. It's a hypothetical we can't say we've ever had to consider, but you never know what could happen.
Personally, I'd choose to completely defuse the situation altogether by popping open a tin of Row 7's first-of-its-kind tinned vegetables and offer the would-be assassin a bite. They won't be able to resist, and you'll walk away with a new friend. Problem solved! They're truly that good. Although be warned, once you pop one open, you won't be able to stop yourself from enjoying the whole tin. To give you a bit of context, Row 7 Seed Co. is a seed-to-table company co-founded by chef Dan Barber, and it just released one of its most innovative products to date.

It's the brand behind the famous Sugarcone Cabbage that took over social feeds last winter, and they also may or may not have had a hand in helping skyrocket the honeynut squash into popularity. Although the company itself has been around since 2018, its primary focus has always been on making radically delicious produce accessible to everyone, and they're just getting started. Whether that means selling its unique catalog of seeds that produce veritable designer produce or packing some of its best straight into tins. That's right, Row 7 just officially launched Vegetable Tins, and it might change the way you look at eating your veggies for good.
Row 7 Seed Co. Launches Tinned Vegetables Exclusively at Whole FoodsKenn C. Bivins
Much like sardines, Row 7 packs each tin full of vegetables picked at their peak ripeness for maximum flavor and then gives them a chefy upgrade by infusing each one with flavors like dijon mustard, white balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil. The delicious new lineup includes three of the brand's most popular vegetable varieties, including:
- Badger Flame Beets in Extra Virgin Olive Oil and White Balsamic Vinegar: A golden beet variety known for being mild and sweet without the polarizing earthiness of traditional beets. These would be fantastic on whipped ricotta toast or tossed into a salad.
- Sweet Prince Tomatoes packed in Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Red Wine Vinegar: A cherry tomato variety bred for concentrated sweet, bright flavor. This one is practically made for pasta.
- Sweet Garleek with White Balsamic Vinegar and Dijon Mustard: Row 7's garlic-leek hybrid, cooked confit-style. Great on a grilled cheese or mixed into a dip.
Although you can definitely tell that these were made to function as low-effort recipe upgrades perfect for folding into pasta or slathering on toast, I decided to try each one au natural and can confirm they are, in fact, delicious. As someone who already loves tinned fish (looking at you, Fishwife), I was plenty excited to give these new veggie tins a try, but I wasn't prepared to have found my new pantry staple all in one fell swoop.

Kenn C. Bivins
Each tin contains 4.2 ounces of Row 7's organic vegetables, which is pretty much on par with what you'd get from a tin of fish. In terms of the flavor, they were all a revelation. Truly, eating these made me feel like I've never actually had vegetables before. The Sweet Prince Tomatoes were pretty much the most tomato-tasting tomatoes I've ever had, and the Sweet Garleek was quite honestly transcendent. I even really enjoyed the Badger Flame Beets, which were surprisingly mild and sweet, unlike any other beet I've ever had.
Even more than the beautifully cooked vegetables bursting with flavor and texture, the marinades in each can add an extra layer of flavor that makes these virtually perfect. You can use them as an ingredient in a variety of recipes or eat them straight out of the tin as I did. The tins are bursting with flavor and texture, and although they probably won't last, each one is shelf-stable for up to two years. While they're not exactly cheap at $7.99 a tin or $29 for a pack of three, once you taste them, you'll definitely understand the more premium price point.
View this post on InstagramUnfortunately, you'll only find tins in the produce section at select Whole Foods locations in the Northeast (for now), but you can get them shipped to your door in the meantime by ordering directly through the brand's website. Without being too presumptuous, I'd venture to say that these might just become a staple in your pantry, too. Personally, I can't wait to see what other veggies get the tinned treatment next, but in the meantime, I'll be whipping up Alyse Whitney's Sweet Garleek Baked Brie Dip in an Edibowl for the foreseeable future.

4 Birth Months Who Should Open Their Hearts Up to Love Again
Almost everyone experiences heartbreak at some point in their life, though the intensity varies from person to person. Maybe you were separated, divorced, widowed, or led on. While it’s not easy to open your heart again after experiencing pain, it is an essential part of being human. Vulnerability is challenging, and keeping ourselves closed off from the possibility of new friends, romantic partners, or special connections doesn't actually prevent suffering—it only keeps us stuck in the same place. It's important for all of us to strive to live with open hearts after disappointment, but four birth months may particularly need this reminder. Read on for insights from expert astrologers.
Which Birth Months Should Open Their Hearts to Love Again?Check for your birth month. Disregard your birth date.

However, it is in your nature to nurture and cultivate a sense of belonging within your home. Building a family or partnership can help you fulfill your emotional needs. Whether you are a detail-oriented Virgo or a diplomatic Libra, you don't need to have everything figured out before opening your heart again. The right people will actually make your life easier, helping you to navigate shortcomings, setbacks, and challenges in a more enjoyable and uplifting way.

Tinana 3-Pack of Stackable Wire Baskets, $30 (was $53) at WalmartCrafted with clean lines and black wires, these baskets lend themselves to the industrial aesthetic. That, combined with the wooden shelf on top, gives these baskets a modern farmhouse vibe. You can also lift the hinge back on the shelf on top if you want to grab things from above.
The shelf at the top of each basket offers additional storage space for items you don’t mind putting on display. 9 Best At-Home Waxing Kits for Smooth, Salon-Quality Hair Removal, Tested by Estheticians
Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.
If you're tired of shaving every other day or spending $50+ every few weeks at the waxing salon, at-home waxing kits have come a long way from the painful, messy experiences you might remember.
Modern kits offer temperature-controlled warmers that prevent burns, hard wax formulas that grip hair instead of skin and pre-sized strips that make application foolproof. The key is understanding that waxing is actually a controlled form of skin trauma—done right, it removes hair from the root and leaves you smooth for weeks. Done wrong, it can cause burns, irritation, folliculitis or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation that lasts far longer than any hair would.
We consulted licensed estheticians and medical estheticians who wax clients professionally to find out which at-home kits actually deliver smooth results without damaging your skin. Here are their top picks for safe, effective hair removal at home for faces, bikini areas, sensitive skin and more.

- Best for Larger Areas:Parissa Creme Wax
- Best Hard Wax:Sliick Microwave Hard Wax Kit
- Best Soft Wax:Billie Wax Kit
- Best for Beginners:Flamingo Women's Body Wax Kit
The biggest priorities are safety, temperature control and matching the wax type to your skin.
Temperature control is critical if you're choosing a kit with a warmer. Vanessa Coppola, esthetician and founder at Bare Aesthetics, warns that "overheated wax is one of the most common reasons people get burned at home," so look for adjustable temperature settings and consistent heat distribution. For strips, she recommends kits that are pre-sized, clearly labeled and include post-wax soothing wipes or oil.
Shantani Smith-Pannell, licensed esthetician and educator at Ogle School Atlanta, breaks down the wax types clearly.
"Hard wax is what I typically recommend for at-home use because it adheres more to the hair than the skin, is gentler on sensitive areas like underarms and bikini area, does not require strips giving you more control and lowers the risk of lifting skin when used correctly," she explains. Soft wax, on the other hand, "adheres to both skin and hair, is best for larger areas like legs and arms, requires strips and a more precise technique and can be more irritating if the skin is not prepped properly."
Ingredients matter too, especially for reactive skin. Coppola notes that for women in perimenopause and menopause, "you want to avoid kits with heavy fragrance, alcohol-based products or harsh additives. Menopausal skin can be thinner, drier and more inflammation-prone, which means it doesn't always 'bounce back' the way it used to."
The bottom line? The best kit removes hair without damaging your skin barrier. Choose hard wax for sensitive areas or if you're a beginner, and soft wax is best for experienced users tackling large areas.

How To Prep Skin for WaxingProper preparation is the difference between smooth results and irritated, inflamed skin.
The first step is thorough cleansing. "Start by cleansing the area with a gentle cleanser to remove oils, sweat, lotion, sunscreen, deodorant or body butter. Then make sure the skin is completely dry," Coppola says. If there's any moisture or oil on the skin, the wax won't grip the hair properly, "and people often over-wax the same area which increases irritation and increases the risk of hyperpigmentation."
Timing your exfoliation correctly matters. Coppola recommends "light exfoliation 24 hours before waxing, not right before. Exfoliating the day of waxing can increase sensitivity and make the skin more prone to micro tears."
Shay Sadrolashrafi, medical esthetician, agrees that regular exfoliation helps—she suggests exfoliating three to four times a week to help bring hairs to the surface.
The most critical safety warning involves active ingredients. "Avoid waxing if you've used retinoids (tretinoin, adapalene), isotretinoin history, strong acids or aggressive exfoliants especially on the face. That combination can lead to skin lifting, rawness and prolonged redness. Remember waxing should remove hair, not the top layer of your skin," Coppola warns. Stop actives 48 hours before waxing, especially on the face.
Smith-Pannell adds that understanding your skin's current condition is essential, explaining, "Skin that is already sensitized, acne-prone or affected by active ingredients like exfoliants or retinoids may react more strongly to waxing. If your skin feels compromised or you are unsure how it will respond, that is a sign to pause and consult a professional."

How Long Does Hair Need To Be Before Doing At-Home Waxing? The length sweet spot is about ¼ inch—roughly the size of a grain of rice.
Coppola explains, "That's where wax can properly grip the hair shaft and remove it from the root. If the hair is too short, the wax can't grip well, so you get more breakage rather than full removal leading to stubble and ingrown hairs. If the hair is too long, waxing can be more painful and less efficient."
She adds that if hair is too long, trimming first is smart.
So, you want to wait about three to four weeks after shaving so hair reaches that ¼ inch length. If you're unsure, err on the side of slightly longer rather than too short.
How Long Do Results From At-Home Waxing Last?"Most people can expect results to last about three to six weeks, depending on the body area, hair thickness and individual growth cycles. You'll usually start seeing some regrowth around the two- to three-week mark, but it's often softer and finer at first," Coppola explains.
She adds that hormones play a role, "particularly in perimenopause and menopause, because changes in androgen/estrogen balance can shift hair growth patterns."
The long-term benefits improve with consistency. "People notice that hair grows back more sparsely and with less coarse texture over time. Waxing buys you more time, typically weeks, not days," Coppola says.
The 9 Best At-Home Waxing Kits, Tested by EstheticiansBest Overall: Jelly Wax All-In-One Wax Kit, $89Jelly Wax
Smith-Pannell chose this as her best overall for its professional quality and versatility. "[It has] easy control, professional quality, great formula for most areas," she explains. The kit includes everything you need for a salon-quality experience at home—the wax warmer with temperature control, hard wax beads, spatulas and aftercare products.
The jelly-like wax texture makes application smooth and easy, and it grips hair effectively without being overly sticky on skin. It's particularly good for people who want to wax multiple body areas with one kit rather than buying separate products for face, body and bikini area.
Best Budget: Nair Luxe Wax Kit, $15Amazon
Smith-Pannell specifically loves this for "solid performance for maintenance sessions without a big price tag." Getting effective waxing at drugstore prices is rare, and this delivers. The kit includes pre-waxed strips and post-wax wipes, making it completely beginner-friendly with no heating or measuring required.
The strips are infused with moisturizing ingredients to reduce irritation. While it won't give you the precision of hard wax with a warmer, it's perfect for quick touch-ups between professional appointments or for anyone who wants to try waxing without investing in expensive equipment.
Best for Sensitive Skin: Tress Wellness At-Home Hard Wax Kit, $40Amazon
Both Coppola and Smith-Pannell recommend this at-home kit specifically for reactive skin. Coppola describes it as "a hard wax system with a temperature-controlled warmer and skin-friendly wax beads that grip hair from the root while being gentler on reactive, sensitive skin."
The kit has prep and post tools to help soothe afterward. Smith-Pannell calls it "gentle hard wax—ideal for sensitive underarms and bikini."
The digital temperature control is crucial for sensitive skin since overheating is one of the main causes of irritation. The hard wax formula means less pulling on delicate skin. The kit includes calming post-wax products to reduce redness immediately.
Best for Face: GiGi Facial Honee Wax, $15Amazon
Smith-Pannell chose this because it's "specifically formulated for delicate facial hair and skin." Facial skin is thinner and more sensitive than body skin, so using a wax designed for the face rather than adapting a body wax is important.
The hard wax formula is gentler than soft wax strips, which can be too aggressive for facial skin and lead to redness or irritation that lasts for hours. GiGi is a professional brand that estheticians use in salons, so you're getting salon-quality formulation. Perfect for upper lip, chin and brow shaping, the smaller container size is ideal since you use less product on the face.
Best for Bikini Area: Happy Waxing Waxing At-Home Kit, $70Amazon
Coppola says, "[It's] a solid choice for the bikini line that handles coarse hair well. The kit includes tools for easier application and removal so you can wax larger or more sensitive zones with better control."
The bikini area is notoriously difficult to wax at home because the hair is coarser, the skin is more sensitive and the angles are awkward. This kit is designed specifically for that area with hard wax that grips coarse hair effectively while being gentle on delicate skin. The included tools make application and removal easier, especially for hard-to-reach areas. The formulation is designed to minimize ingrown hairs, which are common in the bikini area.
Best for Larger Areas: Parissa Wax (Legs & Body), $15Amazon
Smith-Pannell chose this as a "soft wax option that works nicely on arms and legs." When you're waxing large surface areas, soft wax is more efficient than hard wax because you can cover more area quickly with strips.
This creamy formula spreads smoothly and evenly, adhering well to both fine and coarse hair. The generous amount of product means you can do multiple full-leg sessions. The included strips are large enough for efficient coverage. While soft wax requires more technique than hard wax, for experienced at-home waxers tackling big areas, it's the faster option.
Best Hard Wax: Sliick Microwave Hard Wax Kit, $27Amazon
Smith-Pannell loves this because it's "easy to heat correctly [and] ideal for beginners and pros alike." The microwave heating eliminates the need for a separate warmer, making it more convenient and portable. The hard wax formula is gentle on skin while effectively gripping hair from the root. The microwave-safe container with clear heating instructions means you're less likely to overheat the wax and burn yourself. (Coppola also mentions this as a budget-friendly pick, noting it "heats quickly and helps you remove hair efficiently.")
Best Soft Wax: Billie Wax Kit, $11Amazon
The aloe and avocado oil in this product make it more moisturizing than typical soft wax strips, which can be quite drying, Coppola says. She calls it "gentle on skin and easy to use. It includes multiple strip sizes and post-wax wipes to soothe post-wax redness."
The post-wax wipes are crucial for removing any sticky residue. At this price point, it's an incredible value for soft wax.
Related: 9 French Skincare Secrets and Why They Work, According to Dermatologists
Best for Beginners: Flamingo Women's Body Wax Kit, $20Amazon
Coppola calls this an "excellent starter option because they don't require heating equipment, clean up easily and use pre-waxed strips."
For someone trying waxing at home for the first time, the no-heat strips eliminate the most intimidating part—worrying about burning yourself with hot wax. You just warm the strips with your hands, apply and pull. The strips are sized for different body areas and the kit includes finishing wipes.
"[It] works well for most hair types and keeps skin smooth up to four weeks," Coppola notes. The accessible price point means you can try waxing without a big investment to see if you like it before upgrading to a warmer-based system.

Celebrity Announces New River Cruises to Debut Excursions Unlike Any Before
For travelers who have always dreamed of a European river cruise but feared the "tourist trap" crowds, a major industry shift was unveiled today in Miami. Today, Celebrity River Cruises announced a groundbreaking destination program for its 2027 and 2028 debut seasons, promising a level of "takeover" access never before seen on the Danube or Rhine.
The new program moves beyond standard walking tours, introducing four distinct experience categories designed to make guests feel like they own the city. The most buzz-worthy of these is the Celebrity Takeover Series, which will transform iconic European plazas and must-see attractions into private, elevated events available exclusively to the ship’s guests once per sailing.
“We've built a destination program that connects guests to Europe more personally than anything the river cruise industry has offered before,” said Laura Hodges Bethge, president of Celebrity Cruises.
The move signals a first-of-its-kind bridge between the high-tech luxury of ocean cruising and the intimate nature of the river. Included in the 2027 launch are:
- Skillmaster Series: Instead of just watching, guests will participate in local life. Guests can cook generations-old Hungarian recipes in a local grandmother's ("Mamika") kitchen in Budapest or take a painting masterclass in Amsterdam inspired by Van Gogh’s original techniques.
- Keys to the City: A tech-driven discovery tool that gives guests digital route maps tailored to their specific passions, like architecture or food, with "stationed" local hosts waiting at hidden studios to provide behind-the-scenes access.
- The Storyteller Series: Locally-led tours hosted by residents, such as an Amsterdam canal captain with deep family ties to the region who shares "unseen" passages and modern engineering secrets.

The program also extends to multi-day pre- and post-cruise stays in Prague, Budapest and Amsterdam, ensuring a "seamless, end-to-end journey." With bookings for the destination experiences opening in 2027, the line is positioning itself as the premier choice for those who want the "Celebrity Way" of travel—where the destination isn't just a stop, but a private story no one else can tell.
The 12 Best Italian Groceries To Buy at Costco (and 3 To Skip)
As an Italian-American, food is a huge part of how I experience the world. I grew up in a family where Sunday sauce simmered on the stove for hours and cheese, cured meats and pasta were never in short supply. Later in my career, I spent more than 15 years working for one of the most recognizable Italian-American food personalities in the world, which meant professional levels of grocery shopping and talking about ingredients, traditions and cooking techniques every single day. These days, as a content creator and food writer, I spend an enormous amount of time walking grocery aisles, analyzing products and figuring out which ones are actually worth buying.
And if there’s one store that constantly surprises me when it comes to Italian ingredients, it’s Costco.
The warehouse carries an impressively broad range of Italian and Italian-inspired products, from cheeses imported directly from Italy to pantry staples, cured meats, pasta and even ready-to-heat comfort foods. Some of these items are incredible values and genuinely high quality. Others…not so much.
For this list, I defined “Italian” pretty broadly. Some products are authentic ingredients made in Italy, like Parmigiano-Reggiano or balsamic vinegar. Others are staples I regularly use to cook Italian and Italian-American dishes at home, like pasta, sausage or pesto. And a few are prepared foods that help create classic Italian flavors without spending hours in the kitchen.
After many Costco trips and plenty of taste-testing at home, here are the Italian groceries I always buy at this fan-favorite store, and a few I’d skip.

What Italian Products Do They Sell at Costco?Costco’s Italian selection is surprisingly extensive. You’ll find everything from imported pantry staples to ready-to-eat meals that make weeknight dinners easier.
On the ingredient side, the store regularly stocks high-quality olive oils, balsamic vinegar, pasta, olives and cheeses imported directly from Italy. There’s also a strong selection of cured meats like salami and prosciutto that are perfect for antipasto platters or grazing boards.

Beyond pantry staples, Costco also carries prepared Italian foods that make cooking fast and convenient—think frozen lasagnas, tiramisu desserts and refrigerated sauces or meatballs that can turn into dinner in minutes.

12 Best Italian Groceries To Buy at CostcoWhether you’re cooking a traditional Italian meal from scratch or looking for shortcuts that still taste great, Costco’s Italian section has plenty worth exploring. Here are the 12 to check out first.
1. Italian Cheeses: Pecorino Romano, Kirkland Parmigiano Reggiano and Crescenza StracchinoCourtesy Jeanette Donnarumma
When it comes to Italian cheeses, Costco is one of the best places to buy them. The pricing on Parmigiano-Reggiano and Pecorino Romano is almost impossible to beat, especially considering the quality. If you cook Italian food regularly, these cheeses get used quickly on pasta, salads, soups and roasted vegetables, so buying them in larger quantities actually makes sense.
Costco also occasionally carries Crescenza Stracchino, a soft, creamy cheese that’s fantastic spread on bread or paired with prosciutto. For Italian cheese lovers, this section alone is worth the membership.
2. Mama Mancini's Italian Style Sauce & Jumbo MeatballsCourtesy Jeanette Donnarumma
These are a sleeper hit in the refrigerated section. The meatballs are tender, well-seasoned and genuinely satisfying. Do they rival my nonna’s homemade meatballs? Not quite...but for a weeknight dinner when your kids are asking for meatballs (again), they’re a lifesaver.
The sauce is hearty and flavorful, and the meatballs heat up beautifully for pasta night, sandwiches or even as part of a quick appetizer spread.
3. Cured Meats: Kirkland Italian-Style Dry Salami and Beretta Parma HamCourtesy Jeanette Donnarumma
The cured meats at Costco are another category where the value is outstanding. The Kirkland Italian-style dry salame comes in a two-pack and is balanced, savory with great texture.
Costco also regularly carries Prosciutto di Parma, which is one of the most iconic Italian cured meats. Both products are staples for antipasto platters, grazing boards and even lunch boxes. If you love entertaining or snacking they’re an easy buy.
4. Tiramisu CupsCourtesy Jeanette Donnarumma
These individual tiramisu cups are made in Italy and include the classic ingredients you’d expect: espresso-soaked ladyfingers, mascarpone and cocoa.
I first bought them on a whim for a dinner party (full disclosure: I am not a dessert maker), and the crowd absolutely loved them. They’re authentic, well-balanced and packaged perfectly for serving at gatherings or building a quick dessert bar.

5. Kirkland Signature Italian Basil PestoCourtesy Jeanette Donnarumma
This pesto has appeared on nearly every Costco list I’ve written, and for good reason. The flavor is classic and reliable, with basil, cheese and olive oil that taste freshly made.
Because the jar is large, I usually freeze half once I open it so none goes to waste. It works beautifully as a pasta sauce, sandwich spread, salad topper or even layered into lasagna.
6. Kirkland Signature Asolo ProseccoCourtesy Jeanette Donnarumma
This sparkling wine comes from Italy’s Veneto region and is widely considered one of the best wine deals at Costco. The bottle typically costs around $7–$8, yet drinks like something much more expensive.
It’s crisp, light and incredibly versatile. I use it for spritzes, keep it on hand for celebrations and often bring it to gatherings. It’s one of those Costco items I rarely leave the warehouse without.
7. Kirkland Signature Organic Balsamic VinegarCourtesy Jeanette Donnarumma
This balsamic vinegar is another excellent pantry staple. The bottle is large, so it lasts a long time, and the flavor is surprisingly rich for the price.
It’s perfect for making salad dressings, drizzling over vegetables or dipping bread with olive oil. For everyday cooking, it delivers impressive quality without the premium price tag.
8. Rustic Italian BreadCourtesy Jeanette Donnarumma
Costco’s bakery section consistently turns out great breads, and the rustic Italian loaf is one of the best.
It has a crisp crust, soft interior and the kind of flavor you want for dipping into olive oil and balsamic vinegar. It’s also excellent sliced for sandwiches or served alongside pasta dinners.
9. Kirkland Sausage and Beef LasagnaCourtesy Jeanette Donnarumma
Lasagna is one of those dishes that requires serious time and effort to make from scratch. Costco’s frozen sausage and beef lasagna is one of the rare prepared versions that truly delivers.
It’s comforting, flavorful and layered well, making it perfect for busy nights. I wouldn’t hesitate to serve this to family as an easy starter or casual dinner.

10. Asaro Organic Castelvetrano OlivesCourtesy Jeanette Donnarumma
Castelvetrano olives are my favorite olives, period. They’re buttery, mild and incredibly snackable.
The Costco jar is huge and typically costs under $10, making it a fantastic value. They’re perfect for antipasto platters, salads, charcuterie boards or just snacking straight from the jar.
11. Garofalo Organic PastaCourtesy Jeanette Donnarumma
This six-pack of organic pasta is one of the best deals in the warehouse. The shapes are classic, the quality is excellent and the price, usually under $12, is almost unheard of for organic pasta.
If you cook pasta regularly, it’s an easy pantry staple to stock up on.
12. Kirkland Signature Mild Italian SausageCourtesy Jeanette Donnarumma
Whether you grill them whole or remove the meat from the casing for sauces and pasta dishes, these sausages are incredibly versatile.
They freeze beautifully, making them ideal for bulk buying. The flavor is well-balanced and works perfectly in dishes like sausage and peppers, baked ziti or homemade meat sauce.

3 Italian Groceries To Skip at Costco1. Stonemill Kitchens Mushroom RisottoCourtesy Jeanette Donnarumma
I had high hopes for this prepared risotto, but unfortunately it falls short. Risotto should be creamy, fresh and full of flavor, and this version misses the mark.
The mushroom flavor is pleasant, but the rice texture isn’t quite right. Risotto is one of those dishes that’s simply better when made fresh.
2. Kirkland Signature Italian Extra Virgin Olive OilCourtesy Jeanette Donnarumma
While Costco sells many excellent products, this olive oil isn’t my favorite. The biggest issue is the packaging—it’s bottled in plastic.
Olive oil is best stored in dark glass bottles to preserve its flavor and quality. Because of that, I usually choose other olive oil options instead.
3. Costco Food Court CalzoneCourtesy Jeanette Donnarumma
I really wanted to love this food court item. Who doesn’t love a calzone?!
Unfortunately, the flavors feel a bit chaotic and the center tends to be overly soft and mushy. When it comes to the Costco food court, I’d stick with the classics, like the hot dog combo.

Final TakeawaysCostco is one of my favorite places to shop for Italian ingredients. Not just because of the prices, but because many of the products are genuinely high quality. From imported cheeses and cured meats to pantry staples like pasta, pesto and balsamic vinegar, the warehouse offers incredible value if you know what to look for.
And if you’re someone who loves cooking Italian or Italian-American food at home, stocking up on the right items can make weeknight dinners feel a lot more special.
Just remember: not everything in the Italian aisle is a winner. But with the right picks in your cart, you’ll walk out ready to cook and eat very well.

33 Years Ago Today, Rock Legend Hit No. 1 With the Bestselling Live Album of All Time
On March 13, 1993, Eric Clapton took over the music charts with the live album Unplugged. The 1992 album, recorded in front of an intimate audience as part of MTV’s popular Unplugged series, hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart on that date and remained there for three weeks.
Clapton won multiple Grammy Awards for the album at the 35th annual Grammy Awards ceremony, including Album of the Year.
Three decades later, Clapton's Unplugged remains the biggest-selling live album of all time, according to Guinness World Records, with more than 26 million copies sold.
Clapton’s songs were shown in a new lightUnplugged featured an all-acoustic set featuring a reimagination of past hits from Clapton, such as ”Layla” from his Derek and the Dominos days, as well as the newer song “Tears in Heaven,” which was written after the tragic death of his four-year-old son, Conor, two years prior.
Recorded at Brady Studios in England, the performance also featured acoustic arrangements of Muddy Waters’ “Rollin’ and Tumblin” and Jesse Fuller’s “San Francisco Bay Blues.”
Four years before Clapton sat down for Unplugged, the MTV concert series debuted with a performance by Squeeze. Legendary performers such as Elton John, Paul McCartney, and Sting followed suit.
In a video retrospective, Clapton revealed that he didn’t “want to be influenced’ by how other artists approached Unplugged, so he refused to watch any of the previous episodes before recording his own.
“I wanted to do it as if it was brand new,” he said of what would become one of the most iconic Unplugged sessions all time.
Of including the heartbreaking “Tears in Heaven” in the Unplugged set, Clapton said, “After what happened to me last year…and the loss of my son, I think my audience would be very surprised if I didn’t make some sort of reference to it. And I wouldn’t want to insult them by not including them in my grief, in a way. So I do intend to make these things known, and I will play them in concert and put them on record. And it is for me a healing process, and I think it's important that you share that with people that love your music.”
In an interview posted on his official website, Clapton credited the bestselling live album for revitalizing him during a difficult time. "I think Unplugged helped a great deal in terms of a certain rediscovery security in myself", he said. "It freed me up to a certain extent.”
In 2025, MTV announced the release of the 90-minute film Eric Clapton Unplugged …Over 30 Years Later.
Elizabeth Taylor’s Most Powerful Quote Still Resonates Today
Elizabeth Taylor was more than a movie star. The beloved actress was born in London in 1932, but seven years later, her family relocated to Los Angeles due to concerns about World War II. She landed her first film role at age nine and would later become one of the most celebrated actresses of the 20th century—starring in classics like Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Cleopatra and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
Taylor loved boldly—marrying eight times to seven men. She survived life-threatening health crises, battled addiction and came out on top every time. The National Velvet star may no longer be with us, but her movies, her legacy and her words endure. That's why Elizabeth Taylor is our quote of the day.
Quote of the Day by Elizabeth Taylor“You just do it. You force yourself to get up. You force yourself to put one foot before the other, and God damn it, you refuse to let it get to you. You fight. You cry. You curse. Then you go about the business of living. That’s how I’ve done it. There’s no other way."
Taylor's words carry so much weight because she lived through them. Despite decades of tragedy, public scrutiny and personal crisis, she refused to let any of it break her.
Related: Elizabeth Taylor’s Emotional Interview Resurfaces on 70th Anniversary of James Dean’s Death
Deeper Meaning of Elizabeth Taylor’s Quote—ResilienceWhen Taylor said “you force yourself to get up,” she wasn’t speaking in the figurative sense. She had to force herself to get up so many times throughout her life. She lost her third husband Mike Todd in a 1958 plane crash—leaving her a widow and mother-of-three at just 26.
Then, in 1961, she almost died from a case of pneumonia that was so bad it required an emergency tracheotomy. And she was fearlessly open about her battles: After struggling with substance abuse, she bravely entered the Betty Ford Center in 1983—becoming one of the first celebrities in history to openly discuss rehab at a time when it was considered career suicide.
Related: The One Thing You Need To Know About Elizabeth Taylor
The second layer of Taylor’s quote—“you fight, you cry, you curse”—speaks to how raw and real things get during the worst of times. She’s describing survival in its rawest form. She lost so many close friends during the AIDS crisis—including Rock Hudson—whose death in 1985 inspired her lifelong AIDS activism.
Elizabeth Taylor and Rock Hudson co-starred in 1956's Giant and became very close. Hudson was one of the first major Hollywood celebrities to publicly disclose an AIDS diagnosis, which inspired Taylor's lifelong activism.API/GAMMA/Gamma-Rapho via Getty Images
When nearly every public figure in America was running from the epidemic, Taylor ran toward it. She testified before Congress, confronted President Ronald Reagan directly and used her fame as a weapon against ignorance. And she never held back—she fought fiercely, raising more than $270 million for HIV/AIDS research and care over the course of her lifetime.
I'll never forget the time I saw Elizabeth Taylor in the lobby of CNN's Los Angeles headquarters in May 2006. She was arriving for her now-famous appearance on Larry King Live—the one where she looked straight into the camera and asked, "Do I look like I'm dying?" She was 74 years old and in a wheelchair at the time. Everyone in that lobby was absolutely transfixed. She had an aura about her that was almost hypnotizing—a warmth and elegance that no camera could possibly fully capture. (In fact, she's the reason I often find myself complaining, "They don't make stars in Hollywood anymore!")

4 Core Traits of People Born on the 20th, Per Numerology
According to numerologists, everyone’s birth date has numerological meaning and significance. A birth date’s symbolism is determined by the one to three numbers it’s associated with. Regardless of your birth month, being born on the 20th means you embody the combined energies of 2 and 0. Having this birth date means you’re a sensitive yet balanced person who takes pride in your relationships. You may consider yourself a caregiver or mediator in your personal life. Read on to discover the numerological significance of 20, challenges to watch for, and four core personality traits that define you.
The Numerological Significance of Number 20Finding the numerological significance of 20 is easier than you think. Start by breaking down 20 into single-digit numbers, which would be 2 and 0. The number 2 correlates with nurturing, sensitivity, and cooperation. The number 0 is unique, since it represents wholeness and unlimited potential. Combining 2 with 0 makes the distinct symbolism and energy of 20.
People who embrace 20 are well-rounded individuals. They often feel complete with themselves, as well as their relationships. It’s not unusual for these individuals to become caregivers. Family, friends, lovers, and community play a large role in their lives. Maintaining the balance and harmony of their relationships is essential to their happiness. Beloved '60s Singer, With 10 No. 1 Hits, Turns 87
Singer-songwriter Neil Sedaka would have turned 87 on March 13.
Sedaka was one of the most successful pop hitmakers of his generation, scoring 10 No. 1 hits as a performer and writing four more chart-toppers for other artists during a career that spanned nearly seven decades.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, on March 13, 1939, Sedaka showed musical promise early in life. He studied piano at the prestigious Juilliard School’s Preparatory Division for Children while growing up in the Brighton Beach neighborhood. As a teenager, he formed a songwriting partnership with lyricist Howard Greenfield, and the pair soon became part of the legendary Brill Building music scene in New York City.
Sedaka first rose to national fame in the late 1950s and early 1960s with a string of teen pop hits. Among his most beloved songs were “Oh! Carol,” “Calendar Girl,” “Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen,” and his signature smash “Breaking Up Is Hard to Do.” His music helped define the sound of early-1960s pop radio.
When the British Invasion reshaped the music landscape in the mid-1960s, Sedaka’s chart success temporarily slowed. But he mounted one of the most impressive comebacks in pop history during the 1970s. His songs “Laughter in the Rain” and “Bad Blood” both reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, introducing his music to a new generation of listeners.
In addition to his success as a performer, Sedaka was a prolific songwriter whose work became hits for other artists. He co-wrote songs including “Love Will Keep Us Together,” famously recorded by Captain & Tennille, as well as “Stupid Cupid,” a hit for Connie Francis.
Over the course of his career, Sedaka wrote or co-wrote more than 500 songs, selling millions of records worldwide. His contributions to popular music were recognized with his 1983 induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, along with numerous other honors.
Sedaka died on Feb. 27, 2026, just two weeks before his 87th birthday. His passing prompted an outpouring of tributes celebrating his extraordinary career as both a performer and songwriter.
Decades after his earliest hits, Neil Sedaka’s timeless pop melodies continue to resonate with fans around the world.
