U.S. Figure Skater Alysa Liu's Olympics Crush Reacts to Her Personal Update

Fri, 03/13/2026 - 1:00am

Olympic gold medalist Alysa Liu recently shared a glimpse of her time in Paris and the post drew a playful response from someone she once called her “Olympic crush.”

The 20-year-old U.S. figure skating champion uploaded a series of casual photos from her trip to Paris on Instagram, showing moments from her travels and public appearances in the French capital.

Among the comments was Olympic gymnast Suni Lee, who reacted with a short message: “coolest girl.”

The simple comment stood out because Liu previously admitted that Lee is the athlete she admires most in the Olympic world. In a past interview where Olympians were asked about their “Olympic crush,” Liu openly named the decorated gymnast.

“I think my Olympic crush is probably Suni Lee,” Liu said, according to Fox News. “She’s so pretty and very stylized. You know what I’m saying? I like that, yeah.”

View this post on Instagram Alysa Liu Turns Heads During First Paris Fashion Event

Liu’s social media post came during her first trip to Paris, where she attended the Louis Vuitton Fall 2026 fashion show at the Louvre. The Olympic champion stepped into the fashion spotlight alongside major celebrities, including actress Zendaya and Lisa of Blackpink.

For the event, Liu wore a brown denim jacket paired with matching mid-rise jeans layered over a white T-shirt. The outfit featured Louis Vuitton’s signature monogram on her jacket pocket and shoulder bag, which she carried like a clutch.

Her hairstyle also caught attention. Liu debuted soft, wavy curls instead of her usual straight, striped hair, giving her signature look a fresh twist.

During the event, Liu was also spotted chatting and posing for photos with Zendaya. Clips from the moment circulated online, showing the two smiling, sharing peace signs and exchanging a hug.

The Paris appearance marked a new experience for Liu, who is quickly expanding her presence beyond competitive skating.

Earlier this year, Liu made history at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan. She won gold in the women’s singles event and helped the United States capture another gold medal in the team competition.

Her victory ended a long drought for American women in Olympic figure skating. Liu became the first U.S. woman in nearly 25 years to win Olympic gold in the sport.

Team USA also had a strong overall showing at the Games, earning 12 gold medals, the country’s best Winter Olympic performance.

Since the Olympics, Liu’s schedule has been packed with appearances and new opportunities. She has taken part in the Stars on Ice tour, appeared on television shows and attended major international events like the Louis Vuitton fashion show.

Still, Liu often points to her upbringing in Northern California as a key influence on her personality and style.

Raised in Oakland, Richmond and Alameda as the oldest of five siblings, Liu said the Bay Area helped shape her relaxed and creative fashion sense.

“The Bay in general has made my fashion sense what it is,” Liu explained.

Her hometown continues to celebrate her achievements. After returning from the Olympics, Oakland honored Liu with a special rally and presented her with a key to the city.

During the Games, Liu proudly represented where she came from. After finishing one routine, she spotted a fan holding the Oakland flag and gave a shoutout to her hometown.

REI Is Selling 'Comfortable' $40 Columbia Shoes That Are 'Perfect for All Occasions'

Fri, 03/13/2026 - 12:15am

Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

If you’ve been looking for comfortable water-friendly shoes for spring walks, boating, fishing, or even everyday errands, REI has a deal worth checking out right now. The Columbia PFG Castback Shoes are currently $40, down from $80. They come in four colors, with two on sale: gray with peach accents and white with ice blue accents. They’re available in sizes 5 through 12.

The shoes are part of Columbia’s PFG line, which stands for Performance Fishing Gear, so they were made for wet, slippery conditions from the start. That means they’re a practical option for places like docks, boat decks, shoreline walks, and other areas where regular sneakers might feel less supportive. The mesh upper helps with airflow, and the material is designed to resist water and stains, which helps the shoes stay cleaner and dry faster after getting wet.

They’re also built for comfort during longer stretches of wear. The midsoles have lightweight cushioning to help absorb impact, the fit is designed to hold your heel in place more securely, and the outsole is made for better grip on different surfaces. There are also built-in drainage ports that let water and air move through the shoes, preventing them from feeling heavy or soggy when you’re wearing them around water.

One reviewer called them “the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn,” adding, “I can wear them all day long.” Another said they’re “perfect for all occasions.” A third described them as “lightweight,” noting “you feel like you're on clouds.” Others mentioned wearing them during long shifts, including jobs where you’re standing on concrete or walking for hours.

Related: REI Has 'Lightweight' Teva Sandals on Sale for $42 That Are 'Great for Travel'

Despite being designed for boating and fishing environments, the shoes transition easily to everyday wear. The breathable construction works well for warmer weather, and the outsole helps on slick surfaces like docks, wet pavement, or boat decks, which makes them useful for travel days, spring walks near the water, casual outdoor activities, or even everyday errands.

Columbia is known for being a trustworthy brand, but the fact that these shoes are water-friendly and great for long days on your feet makes this deal really stand out. 1965 Classic Was a No. 1 Hit 61 Years Ago Today

Thu, 03/12/2026 - 11:31pm

61 years ago today, on March 13, 1965, The Beatles' beloved classic “Eight Days A Week” topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The success occurred nearly a month after they released the timeless pop-rock bop in the US.

RELATED: 1974 No 1. Hit Ranked a Greatest ‘Love Song of All Time’ Turns 52 Years Old Today

The song would give the band members, Paul McCartney,John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, their seventh consecutive No. 1 hit, following a string of already achieved charttoppers in America throughout the year, including: “Love Me Do,” “Please Please Me,” “From Me to You,” “She Loves You,” “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” “Can’t Buy Me Love,” and “A Hard Day’s Night.”

Though The Beatles are a British rock band, “Eight Days A Week” was not marketed as a single in the U.K. Regardless, the March of that year brought enormous success to the band from Liverpool, and the group was in the midst of working on their second movie titled Help!. “Eight Days A Week” lived in the top spot on the Hot 100 for two weeks before exiting the No. 1 position, but Beatlemania was at its height, and the timing also marked what was known as The British Invasion in the US.

A New Musical Technique in the Recording Studio

Unlike other hits, “Eight Days A Week” was unique as it became the first song by the group to feature a fade-in introduction, which marked the beginning of a new element in rock music. The Beatles took their time in the studio coming up with a way to begin “Eight Days A Week,” eventually settling on an electric guitar riff that crescendos into the opening lyrics and the signature hand claps that can be heard in the background.

With credits going to the McCartney-Lennon mastery, “Eight Days A Week” finds the band singing about needing loving affection from a romantic partner for the entire week, plus one more day. From a sonic standpoint, the instrumentals are simple with an effervescent tempo and each band member playing their respective instruments.

The Inspiration Behind the Song

The inspiration for the track, according to American Songwriter, was cited in the 1995 Beatles Anthology docuseries, with McCartney recalling a drive to a songwriting session with Lennon.

“[T]he chauffeur drove me out that day, and I said, ‘How’ve you been?’ … ‘Oh, working hard,’ he said, ‘working eight days a week,’” McCartney said. “I had never heard anyone use that expression, so when I arrived at John’s house, I said,‘Hey, this fella just said, “eight days a week”.’ John said, ‘Right … Ooh I need your love, babe,’ and we wrote it.”

“Eight Days A Week” belongs on the Fab Four’s Beatles for Sale and Beatles VI albums.

The quilt is designed to be lightweight and breathable, which makes it especially comfortable during warmer months. It’s also a great choice for hot sleepers who want coverage without feeling overheated. At the same time, it layers easily with blankets if the temperature drops on cooler nights.

Its construction includes several soft layers that add both comfort and durability. The top layer is made from brushed polyester, while the filling uses a fluffy down-alternative material. The backing is crafted from breathable, skin-friendly microfiber that feels soft against the skin.

The set comes in a wide range of sizes from twin through California king. Twin sets include one quilt and one pillow sham, while larger sizes come with two shams. It’s also easy to care for since it’s machine-washable in cold water on a gentle cycle and can be tumble-dried on low.

Style-wise, the quilt features a vintage-inspired embossed damask pattern with a European-style baroque look. The ultrasonic quilting helps the design maintain its shape while preventing wrinkles or distortion over time. It’s available in nine colors, including neutral shades like beige and white along with bolder options like red and blue.

Shoppers seem to love it too. This popular style has a 4.4-star rating from over 400 reviewers. One shopper said it’s “lightweight” and “durable,” adding, “It’s great for warmer weather when heavier comforters are too much.” Another described it as “elegant and beautiful,” noting that they’ve “already gotten compliments” on it.

‘90s Rock Star Announces 20-Year Project Outside Music

Thu, 03/12/2026 - 10:17pm

Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready unveiled the long-awaited project that he has been working on outside of music.

With his legendary career in the music scene, spanning to over three decades, the 59-year-old is stepping beyond the stage this time with his latest creative endeavor.

In an Instagram post shared by the band, Pearl Jam showed their full support for their fellow member by revealing the multimedia project that McCready has been working on.

Titled Farewell to Seasons, the project combines a graphic novel with a “lost” rock opera, emphasizing his experiences during Seattle’s early grunge scene and earning it the description of an “alternative history of Seattle.”

The graphic album weaves music and visual art into a story that captures the city’s history, which defined the '90s.

“Teaming up with @z2comics, Mike is releasing the original graphic novel and "lost" rock opera, "Farewell to Seasons" - storying the drive and sense of community that forged the powerful backbone of the Seattle music scene of the 80s into the 90s. Deluxe and Platinum editions of the graphic novel include a soundtrack of new and original songs from Mike to serve as an artifact recording produced by the main character, David Williams,” the caption reads.

The posts were filled with congratulatory messages showing the public’s support for the iconic bassist and his passion project.

“Congrats! Cannot wait to see this,” one wrote.

“Love the concept,” a follower added.

“This is so interesting and cool, @mikemccreadypj love the retro concert photos and artwork,” a commenter echoed.

According to the 2017 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, the graphic album has been 20 years in the making, showing just how personal the project is to him.

“It’s a story I’ve been developing for many years, inspired by the creativity, community, and chaos of the Seattle music scene,” he shared in a statement as cited by Revolver Magazine, adding that he also worked alongside well-known comic book writer Mark Sable, the person behind techno-thriller graphic novel The Dark and Graveyard of Empires Grounded.

McCready’s graphic novel is set to be released on October 6, 2026. The deluxe bundle offers hardcover graphic novels with the 11-song LP, promising a one-of-a-kind journey from his point of view.

Beloved ‘90s Rocker, With No. 1 Hit Song, Turns 57

Thu, 03/12/2026 - 10:14pm

The ‘90s music scene was filled with countless success stories, but few were quite as compelling as the rise of Graham Coxon.

The legendary rocker, best known as the guitarist of Blur and for the band’s No. 1 hit “Country House,” is celebrating his 57th birthdayWednesday.

Coxon was born on March 12, 1969, in Rinteln, West Germany, and soon moved to England, where he spent the majority of his childhood. In early adolescence, he befriended his now longtime bandmate Damon Albarn. Coxon then attended Goldsmiths, University of London, where he met Alex James and Dave Rowntree. The group would soon form Blur, a band that became one of the most influential acts of the Britpop movement.

Blur rose to the spotlight in the early ‘90s with their revolutionary, distinctly British take on alternative rock. Their 1995 single “Country House,” from the album The Great Escape, became one of their biggest hits, reaching No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart. The song famously surpassed Oasis’ “Roll With It,” a highlighting moment of the Britpop rivalry that dominated the decade.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0msCgEmNA3o

Known for his inventive guitar playing, Coxon helped shape Blur’s sound across a series of successful albums including Parklife, The Great Escape, and Blur. His energetic riffs and distinctive style made him one of the most respected guitarists of the era.

The guitarist also had a special passion for performing that helped him overcome personal battles. In an interview with GQ Magazine, he explains, “I feel at my most comfortable on stage. I'd certainly feel more comfortable on stage than I would have done at the party afterwards. If I'm focusing on playing the guitar, there isn't room for anxiety.”

Outside of Blur, Coxon has also built a strong solo career, releasing several albums that experiment with indie rock, lo-fi, and alternative sounds. He has continued collaborating with other artists and contributing music to film and television.

Over the decades, Coxon has had a lasting influence on the alternative rock community. From Britpop to modern indie music, his guitar work and songwriting continue to inspire new generations of musicians.

Now celebrating his 57th birthday, Coxon’s legacy as one of the most distinctive guitarists of the 1990s remains as strong as ever.

Who Plays Duke on 'The Pitt'? Where You Recognize This Familiar Actor From

Thu, 03/12/2026 - 10:14pm

Another guest star, another moment left scratching your head as you squint your eyes at your television screen and wonder where the heck you recognize them from.

This week on The Pitt, we finally met the elusive Duke Ekins, who Dr. Robby (Noah Wyle) has been waiting all shift for. The motorcycle engineer and longtime pal of the ER doc gets the VIP treatment when he reluctantly checks in at Robby's insistance after months of on-again-off-again hoarseness.

Now, Duke—or should we say his actor, Jeff Kober, has one of those faces you don't forget, framed by a well-groomed goatee and shoulder-length gray locks. But while you just know his face, do you know why?

The actor is no stranger to Hollywood, securing guest spots and starring roles across TV and film over the last four decades. In fact, he's been in so much it's easy to see him in other costumes, time periods and settings, but it's probably hard to pull enough of it to recall just what project you're thinking of.

Like the little actress who played Kylie earlier in the season, he’s appeared in the One Chicago universe, playing Doug Green in one episode of Chicago Med back in 2024. And if you’re a fan of The Walking Dead, you’ll quickly be able to place him as the leader of The Claimers, the group that took Daryl in after the prison fell, and who was killed by Rick ripping his throat out with his teeth.

Kober has also appeared in episodes of 9-1-1—just like his fellow newcomer to The Pitt, Lou Ferrigno Jr., who played Park the Shark (aka orthopedic surgeon Dr. Brendon Park)—Van Helsing, Shameless, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, New Girl, Walker, Texas Ranger, and several episodes of NCIS: Los Angeles and New Orleans. He’s was also featured widely on Sons of Anarchy as Jacob Hale, Jr.

Meanwhile soap fans will recognize him for his years-long turn as Cyrus Renault across hundreds of episodes of General Hospital.

This filmography really barely scratches the surface of his extensive body of work, which kicked off with an episode of V in 1985.

What was it that you ended up recognizing Kober from?

‘Married at First Sight’ Dating Coach Shares Terminal Cancer Diagnosis

Thu, 03/12/2026 - 9:31pm

Weeks after Mel Schilling, the dating coach on Australia's iteration of Married at First Sight, announced she would step away from the hit series for health reasons, she’s now shared that her cancer has spread and there’s nothing the doctors can do.

In an Instagram post, Schilling, 54, shared that she received the tragic news from her oncology team.

"Hearing those words changes everything," she wrote.

View this post on Instagram

In December 2023, Schilling was diagnosed with colon cancer. Following surgery to remove the tumor she nicknamed “Terry,” the reality TV star said she was in the clear. In February2024, however, small nodules were found in her lungs.

While filming Married at First Sight, she underwent several rounds of chemotherapy and was looking forward to a “groundbreaking clinical trial” that was to start in March 2026. That is, until the cancer spread to her brain.

“Over Christmas, however, I began experiencing blinding headaches and numbness down my right side,” she shared in her post. “After many tests I was told the cancer had spread to the left side of my brain and, despite subsequent radiotherapy sessions, my oncology team have now told me there is nothing further they can do.”

She continued, “So that’s where I am now. My light is starting to fade — and quickly. But I am still here, still fighting, and surrounded by the most incredible love,” adding, “I honestly don’t know how long I have left, but I do know I will fight to my last breath and will be surrounded by the love and support of my people.”

According to The Guardian, Schilling joined Married at First Sight, a Nine Entertainment program, in 2016. In a statement, the network said they were “deeply saddened” by the news.

“[Mel] is a woman of extraordinary depth, kindness, and an unshakeable spirit,” the network said. “She isn’t just a colleague; she is family. Our thoughts, love, and strength are with Mel, her husband, Gareth, and her daughter, Maddie, during this incredibly difficult time. Mel, we are all behind you.”

William Shatner, 94, Shares Health Update After Falling Off His Horse

Thu, 03/12/2026 - 9:19pm

William Shatner underwent surgery on his shoulder after suffering an injury from falling off a horse.

The 94-year-old actor shared an update just one day after his procedure, revealing that he's on the mend.

"So I understand that tabloids say my shoulder was shattered.🧐 Dramatic. 🎭Colorful. 🌈 Completely untrue. 🚫 It was a routine procedure," Shatner shared via X on Thursday, March 12. "I’m so well that tomorrow I’ll be in Cleveland at a convention. Remember that tabloids don’t let facts get in the way of a good headline."

During the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films’ 53rd annual Saturn Awards on Sunday, March 8, the Star Trekstar revealed his terrifying accident.

"I ride the horses that can compete in equine skills, which is fast down and ends on a sliding stop," he explained, according to Page Six. "And the horse that I owned, I came off."

He continued, "And she had a habit of going too far, like six inches to the side. And I’m riding it. And I’m ready. And she goes [too fast and sent him flying]."

According to Shatner, he tried to lessen the damage of the fall by rolling, but added, "I’m not a young stuntman anymore."

"I started to roll, but hit the dirt with my shoulder. So I wrecked my shoulder," Shatner said.

Jell-O Revives a Fan-Favorite After 25-Year Hiatus

Thu, 03/12/2026 - 9:12pm

Jell-O is bringing back a product that fans haven't seen on shelves since at least the early 2000s.

Making its first appearance in over 25 years is the returning Jell-O Jiggler Easter Egg Mold, designed to shape your favorite Jell-O flavors into "adorable" eggs, each decorated with its own festive imprint.

Remember them? Jell-O molds of all shapes and sizes used to be super trendy, peaking sometime in the mid-century and remaining popular through the late '90s. Interest in the product has persisted since the item's disappearance, according to the brand, which suggested "fans hunt for vintage JELL-O Jiggler Egg Molds each year" on sites like Etsy, Poshmark, and eBay.

While seeing the item officially described as "vintage" may sound harsh to some, it's just the reality—bittersweet at best. But at least now the egg-shaped molds are more readily available and free from fears of disintegration.

Jell-O's Easter Egg Molds Make Big Comeback This Spring

This season, Jell-O is giving fans a way to keep the magic and traditions of Easter, while also allowing them to relive the nostalgic ritual from holidays past with a simpler alternative to egg-dying.

The holiday molds offer a simple solution for avoiding egg allergies, the stench of vinegar food dyes, or the time and expense of hard-boiling all those eggs (not to mention the additional moments it takes to sketch an original design with a tiny wax crayon—one that you can't see until it's too late, might we add), just whip up some Jell-O.

Pick your favorite flavor (or a few), make the gelatin dessert as directed on the box and then pour out the necessary amount into each of the six sections of the mold. The molds are made of food-grade, BPA-free polypropylene plastic that's durable, reusable and safe to use with all your favorite Jell-O recipes.

Jell-O Jigglers Easter Egg Mold returns to Walmart for a limited time.

Jell-O

Fans seem thrilled by the Jigglers Easter Egg Mold's return, with junk food influencer Snackolator admitting, "I love the designs for these and they are just so cute - who doesn't love a chance to play with their food?!"

"This is fun," someone else replied.

A third fondly recalled how their mom "had several of them back in the 80s," while another joked, "Holy 90s flashbacks ❤️."

"Finally able to get my hands on one of these holiday molds!" another exclaimed, "I was soo bummed about the Thanksgiving ones getting sold out instantly!"

"Man I have got to have this!" a different fan cheered in part.

"Watch it wiggle. See it jiggle.....," one more shared, teasing, "I just aged myself."

Where Will Jell-O's Easter Egg Molds Be Available?

Jell-O said its Jigglers Easter Egg Mold is now available at Walmart as an individual mold or a two-pack (so you can mix up a full dozen at once), and retails for $5.99 to $11.98 (prices may vary).

That said, it's only going to be available while supplies last and if we've learned anything from the version of Jell-O molds it released last fall, it's not to sleep on the release if you really want it—you gotta hop to it!

When Do New ‘Age of Attraction’ Episodes Come Out? How to Watch on Netflix

Thu, 03/12/2026 - 8:45pm

Does age matter when it comes to love? That's what Age of Attraction claims to figure out. People date each other without revealing their age on the Netflix show. Once they commit to each other to progress in the experiment, then they're allowed to reveal their age.

Sadly, viewers have to wait for new episodes to be released. Here is the schedule for season 1.

Age of Attraction Season 1's Schedule

The new series started with the first five episodes. The singles met and went on dates with each other at a retreat. Nick Viall from The Bachelorand his wife, Natalie Joy, host the show. They've talked about their 18-year age gap in the past and can relate to some of the couples.

Tudum revealed the following schedule:

Week 1 (Wednesday, Mar. 11): Episodes 1–5

Week 2 (Wednesday, Mar. 18): Episodes 6-7

Week 3 (Wednesday, Mar. 25): Episode 8

Episode 4 showed couples moving in together after finding out their age gaps. Some of them had trouble sharing space, while others enjoyed it. Episode 5 ended with the hosts telling the remaining couples that they'll introduce their partners to their friends and families.

The teaser showed some of the cast members stressed over children approving of the younger partners. On the other hand, younger cast members are upset at the thought of introducing their parents to older partners.

The finale will have each couple decide whether to continue their relationship or go their separate ways on a mountain. Unlike the Love Is Blind series, the couples live all across the country, so some would have to make big life changes or have a long-distance relationship. A reunion hasn't been announced.

‘90s Icon Stuns With Dramatic Hair Transformation: 'Aging in Reverse'

Thu, 03/12/2026 - 8:43pm

Jewel, the ‘90s icon who rose to prominence with her folk-pop music, is making waves after revealing a dramatic transformation.

During that era, her signature look was defined by a bohemian aesthetic, complete with her long blonde hair and acoustic guitar.

Now, fans see her in a different light, as she transitions into a visual artist while still maintaining that authentic, down-to-earth image.

However, Jewel surprised fans after drastically chopping her long blonde hair into a chic bob.

The four-time Grammy nominee shared the change through a playful video showing her transformation.

The transformation quickly caught fans' attention, with many praising how the new hairstyle not only suits her but also highlights her features.

Moreover, the new look gave her a noticeably more youthful glow.

At 51, she still boasts a stunning physique with jaw-dropping muscles and a toned figure that she often shows in her bikini posts.

In an Instagram post, she also shared that she stays healthy through exercise and by spending time with loved ones.

“Summer recap : more travel, more lifting (because , 51 and gotta keep that muscle and bone up) more time with family and loved ones, more painting … more adventure , more joy …,” she wrote.
