'Scary Movie’ Fans Outraged After Marlon Wayans Reveals Why Beloved Original Cast Member Won’t Return
With Scary Movie 6 marking the return of the parody franchise and the original leading cast, fans were hoping to see Shannon Elizabethreprise her role. After the actor confirmed she won't be returning, Marlon Wayans chimed in to explain why, and it led to fan complaints online.
Elizabeth and the original cast fronted Scary Movie into mainstream success, with the actor having played the role of Buffy Summers. Her character was a spoof of Sarah Michelle Gellar's character in Buffy the Vampire Slayerand I Know What You Did Last Summer. It also served as the spoof version ofRose McGowan as Tatum Riley in Scream.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Elizabeth revealed she would have loved to reprise her role, but "didn't get the call." It led to fan disappointment, even more so when Wayans revealed the reason why on the Shade Room.
"Love Shannon, definitely wasn't personal," he revealed. "But it was toooooo many people coming back."
He also added that the Scary Movie franchise "ain't going anywhere" and that she could appear in future installments "down the line somewhere." Wayans' explanation didn't sit right with fans, seeing as the movie did the job of bringing back almost the entire original cast, and a new list of actors.
"Shes the only one from the original cast not coming back tho. Bobby, Cindy, Brenda, Ray, Greg, Shorty, Gail, and Doofy are all back," said one fan on X.
"But you cast Kai Cenet who literally no one asked for?" said another, referring to popular online streamer and YouTube personality.
"'Too many people coming back'...but you added NEW cast. Make it make sense...." added one fan, with another chiming in, saying, "I refuse to believe this..everybody was thought of BUT one of the main characters???"
Some fans felt Elizabeth should have been at the top of the list of returning cast members over Cheri Oteri. Oteri played the role of Gail Hailstorm, a spoof of Courtney Cox's Gail Weathers from Scream. Some fans are hoping it's all for show, with Elizabeth making a cameo appearance, seeing as her character died in the original film.
1972 Hit Ranked Among Best ‘Soft Rock Songs’ of All Time Became the Ultimate Rock Anthem
Carly Simon is celebrated not only for her unique blend of pop, rock and folk music but also for her songs with deeply personal lyrics.
While the current generation has Taylor Swift, who famously turned her personal relationships and heartbreaks into award-winning hits, the New York native is widely regarded as the master of the breakup song for her brutally honest lyrics and razor-sharp storytelling.
With her decades-long career in music, the 2022 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee has released a string of notable hits, among them is the smash hit “You're So Vain.”
Released in 1972, it made it to the top 40 best “soft rock songs” of all time, as cited by Ultimate Classic Rock.
Landing at No. 9, Simon’s song is described as a perfect combination since “You're So Vain” is a collaboration with The Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger on backing vocals, making it the “best moment and a 1970s classic.”
The release sparked massive global success and made it Simon’s signature song.
A year after it was released, “You're So Vain” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and spent three consecutive weeks at the top spot.

From chart-topping success, the singer-songwriter also won notable recognitions, including three nominations at the 16th Annual Grammy Awards. This includes Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.
Years later, the 1972 song still lives up to its historical status.
In 2004, it was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame and 10 years later, the UK’s Official Charts Company hailed “You're So Vain” as the "ultimate song of the 1970s."
‘You’re So Vain’ Was Inspired by Carly Simon’s Relationship With a Fellow CelebrityAmid the popularity of the classic track, Simon previously revealed that it was about the actor and director Warren Beatty following their intense, brief romance in the ‘70s.
However, she also mentioned that two other men inspired the remaining verses.
According to her, she wanted to keep the identities of the other men hidden and not drag them into the public spotlight.
"I would have to want to,” she told ABC News during an exclusive, adding, “I would just have to say, 'OK, I’m gonna have to dunk you both into this fever that is people still wanting to know.' I still can’t understand that!"
More than 50 years after its release, “You're So Vain” is celebrated as one of the best “soft rock songs” of all time, a timeless classic that continues to captivate new generations.
Rosamund Pike Says 2005 Box Office 'Bomb' Could've Ended Her Career
Rosamund Pike is looking back at one of her box office failures, and how she's' grateful it didn't Doom the rest of her career.
While recently making an appearance on the How to Fail podcast with Elizabeth Day, Pike opened up about some of the failures of her career, including the 2005 action film Doom.
While in the midst of making the 2005 film version of Pride & Prejudice, the English actress said she was contacted to star in the Doom franchise, an action film adapted from the video game of the same name.
"So suddenly I'm in this film with [Dwayne] The Rock [Johnson] and I realize how utterly ill-equipped I am to be an action star," Pike, 47, recalled. While she noted that Johnson "couldn't be nicer," the Gone Girl actress said she was completely out of her element during filming.
"I was just out of my comfort zone, out of my league, out of my depth," she said, calling the film an "Absolute bomb."
"I mean, I probably could've ended my career," she stated.
View this post on InstagramNot only did she admit that her role in the film wasn't up to snuff, but Pike said the movie as a whole may have been "one of the worst films ever made."
"I mean, it was a catastrophe," she said.

Grateful that the film didn't end up being "career-ending" for neither her nor Johnson, Pike said she walked away from the experience having learned a new lesson: to do her research.
"I didn't know enough about video games. I wasn't the right kind of girl to be in that," she said, specifically mentioning the pressure of women in action films to take on the role of the "sex symbol" in order to get good reviews. "I just wasn't that person."

Hollywood Icon Al Pacino, 85, Hits the Red Carpet With Three of His Children
Hollywood legend Al Pacino is one proud papa, and he's stepping out with three of his children.
The legendary actor, 85, known for diverse roles ranging from The Godfather and Dog Day Afternoon to Carlito's Way and Scent of a Woman, hit the red carpet opening of I Live Here Now at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica alongside three of his children: Anton Pacino, Olivia Pacino, and Julie Pacino. But this wasn't just a typical appearance for the Pacino family. I Live Here Now, a horror thriller, is actually Julie Pacino's directorial debut!

Who is Anton and Olivia Pacino's Mother, Beverly D'Angelo?Anton and Olivia Pacino's mother is none other than beloved actress Beverly D’Angelo, who welcomed twins at 49 with Pacino, her then-partner. The star originated the role of Ellen Griswold alongside Chevy Chase‘s Clark W. Griswold in the first National Lampoon’s Vacation film in 1983 and played the iconic role of Ellen in several follow-ups, including 1989’s beloved holiday version, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.
Despite being a Hollywood success story, D'Angelo says she maintained traditional family values despite her untraditional path to parenthood.
“I had kids really late — I gave birth to twins six weeks after I turned 49,” she told Fox News Digital. “It was really important to me to place them at the center of my world. So, I wouldn’t do any films that would take me out of town for any amount of time. I did television, I did some indie films and things like that, but my focus was really to always be emotionally and physically available to my kids.”
D’Angelo Says Her Career May Have Been Bigger Without Her TwinsWhen previously asked about raising kids in Hollywood, D’Angelo said that lifestyle wasn’t for her.
“I did not raise my kids in that culture,” D’Angelo told PEOPLE recently. “If I would have been more focused, maybe I would have had a bigger career, but I was focused on my kids, to tell you the truth.”
With her kids older now, D’Angelo has more time to act these days. She recently appeared in Sleepwalker alongside Hayden Panettiere.

Since it premiered on Netflix on Friday, March 6, The Dinosaurs — a new nature documentary miniseries that charts the history of the titular beasts from their debut in the Triassic period until their demise in the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event — has been a Jurassic hit for the streamer, pulling in a mammoth 10.4 million viewers over the course of its first week as well as a perfect 100-percent approval rating over on Rotten Tomatoes.
That's a whole lot of people tuning in, but if you haven't yet clicked "Play" on Netflix's new hit dino docuseries, here's everything you need to know about The Dinosaurs, plus 10 more dinosaur documentaries you should watch next.
What is the new dinosaur documentary on Netflix? The Dinosaurs is a new four-part nature docuseries on Netflix that chronicles the rise and fall of the dinosaurs across 170 million years. Produced by Industrial Light & Magic, the doc uses realistic depictions of the animals — including detailed reconstructions of lesser-known species like the Yutyrannus and the Peloroplites — to help viewers understand the behaviors, habitats, social norms and more of these prehistoric creatures.

How are Steven Spielberg and Morgan Freeman involved in The Dinosaurs?Oscar-winning actorMorgan Freeman lends his commandingly iconic voice as narrator of The Dinosaurs. The project reunites Freeman with his old Amistad and War of the Worlds directorSteven Spielberg, who serves as an executive producer on the Netflix docuseries via his Amblin Documentaries production label.
The famous filmmaker is not a director on the series; instead, Dan Tapster, Keith Scholey and Alastair Fothergill direct the storytelling.

How many episodes are there in Netflix's The Dinosaurs? There are four episodes, each approximately 44-48 minutes long, in the Netflix docuseries The Dinosaurs.
What big surprises came out of The Dinosaurs documentary? Thanks to its realistic depictions and lifelike CGI, Netflix's The Dinosaurs offers up some surprising revelations about its marquee animals. Over four episodes, you find out that the Yutyrannus was actually a feathered tyrannosaur who preferred colder, snowy climates, and not scaly and warm weather-seeking as previously believed.
The doc also revealed some oddball behavior from some of the species; for example, did you know that the Heterodontosaurus stored food squirrel-style in stretchable cheek pouches or that the Peloroplites sing to attract mates?!

Will there be a The Dinosaurs season 2?There has been no official word yet whether Netflix will greenlight a second season of The Dinosaurs; however, the project was conceived as a miniseries and follows the creatures through the entire prehistoric era including their cataclysmic extinction, so a season 2 is unlikely.

Can kids watch The Dinosaurs documentary on Netflix?Yes, The Dinosaurs is considered acceptable viewing for school-aged kiddos, with an age-range recommendation of 7 to 12 years old. Archaeologists Uncover Ancient 'Most Mysterious' Cult's Sanctuary in Germany
Excavation work in the city of Regensburg led to a stunning discovery for Germany, when a planned apartment project was halted after construction crews uncovered what appears to be a rare Roman temple. According to the experts, the temple was once used by a "mystery cult" that was known to worship Mithras.
Now, experts are saying that this may be the oldest sanctuary of its kind in the region, and what they've found within it gives them a new understanding of Mithraism, a type of worship that is old as Christianity itself. Keep reading to learn more.
View this post on Instagram German Construction Crews Unearthed Ancient Roman TempleTalk about a crazy day at work. German construction crews seem to have uncovered a major historical find while getting ready to start work on a multi-story apartment building in the city of Regensburg in Germany, according to Fox News.
Experts believe that the temple was dedicated to the Roman deity Mithras, as part of a "mystery cult" or "star cult." Followers were very into light and cosmic order, according to the publication, and Mithraism was very popular in the Roman Empire during the second and third centuries A.D. Not only that, but it's believed to have existed right alongside of the earliest beginnings of Christianity. One of the City of Regensburg's archaeologists spoke with Fox News about the find, calling it "very rare."

"Based on the evaluation of the coins discovered in the sanctuary, it is the oldest of the nine known Mithras temples identified in Bavaria to date," Johannes Sebrich said in an email. "As their knowledge increased, they could attain up to seven grades of initiation and thus ascend the celestial ladder toward the highest possible level of understanding."
Sebrich said that that the organization is still regarded as one of the most "mysterious" and most "fascinating" cults from that time. As for how it was determined to be from that era, Fox News said that the details were all found in the types of food remains, tableware, and overturned cabinet.
You Can Find Other Mithraism Ruins in EuropeI'll admit, I was fascinated with this find. While it will likely be a while before people can go there in person to check out the artifacts, there are other places in Europe that are already set up for curious travelers who want to learn more about Mithraism. According to Atlas Obscura, you can visit sites like:
- Santa Maria Capua Vetere in Italy, where you can find a subterranean temple full of sculptures, cryptic symbols, and frescoes featuring some of the Roman Empire's most ancient gods
- The London Mithraeum, which is a public exhibit that recreates what scholars believe was happening inside the temples at the time
- Caesarea Maritima Mithraeum in Israel, another underground temple that was built to represent the grotto where followers believe Mithras was born

While there aren't likely many followers left today, visitors should remember that these locations were once very important to the followers, so they should be treated with the same respect that you would when visiting other religious sites.
Additionally, since these sites are located all over the world—approximately 400 of these temples have been uncovered—it's important to also research the region before traveling there to ensure that you're following local customs and rules as well.

Alaska Airlines Set to Make History With Its First-Ever Flight to Europe
Alaska Airlines is preparing to make aviation history with its first-ever nonstop flight to Europe, marking a major milestone in the carrier's evolution from a primarily North American airline to a growing global competitor. The landmark route will connect Seattle–Tacoma International Airport with Rome's Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport, with the inaugural flight scheduled for April 28, 2026.
For decades, Alaska Airlines focused largely on routes within the United States, Mexico, Canada, and parts of Central America. But the company has been steadily expanding its international ambitions in recent years. The launch of the Seattle–Rome service represents the airline's first transatlantic route and a symbolic entry into the European travel market.
The route will operate nonstop between Seattle and Rome using the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, a modern wide-body aircraft designed for long-haul travel. The plane will offer a more global onboard experience than Alaska's traditional narrow-body fleet, including lie-flat seats, premium enclosed suites, and upgraded dining options in Business Class.
"This is the Alaska experience our guests already love—taken to an entirely new level," Todd Traynor-Corey, Vice President of Guest Products and Experience at Alaska Airlines, said in a press release. "We're building the most extraordinary guest experience of any U.S. airline flying internationally. Our guests will feel the difference from the moment they take off to the moment they arrive."
Initially planned as a limited service, the Seattle–Rome route is now expected to run daily during its seasonal schedule due to strong demand. Tickets went on sale months in advance, giving travelers from the U.S. West Coast a new nonstop option to reach Italy without connecting through major East Coast or European hubs.
The Rome route is also part of a broader global expansion strategy. Alaska Airlines has been adding long-haul destinations as it builds Seattle into a larger international gateway. In addition to Rome, the airline plans to introduce flights to London and Reykjavik in 2026, while earlier launches to Tokyo and Seoul signaled the start of this new international phase.
By 2030, the airline plans to serve at least 12 intercontinental destinations from Seattle, with additional routes to be announced.
"With our nonstop service from Seattle to Rome and London, we're opening the door to two of the world's most iconic regions with the style and care our guests expect from us," Andrew Harrison, Chief Commercial Officer of Alaska Airlines, said in the press release. "These new routes mark a tremendous step in our global expansion and reflect our commitment to delivering a premium international experience from Seattle. We're elated to connect the Pacific Northwest to more of the world."
Industry observers see the move as a significant shift for the airline. With more wide-body aircraft and growing global partnerships, Alaska Airlines is positioning itself to compete more directly with major U.S. and international carriers on long-distance routes.

'Outlander' Star Caitríona Balfe Teases Claire and Jamie’s Future in Season 8: 'It’s Not New Love, It’s Different' (Exclusive)
It’s been a long journey for Caitríona Balfe to play Claire Fraser on Outlander over a more than 10-year period in which both the character and she have changed. When she started, the actress and the role she played were more contemporaries. Now Balfe is playing a woman in her 60s, definitely several decades older than she is.
“She was this feisty young woman who, I think, was very hot-headed and maybe acted before she thought sometimes, but I don't know that her core has changed that much,” Balfe tells Parade in an exclusive interview. “I think obviously with age, she has softened and become wiser. She has sort of been brought to her knees but put herself back together in a healthier way in many ways over the seasons. At her core, Claire has always been a passionate fighter for justice, such a lover—and a fierce, loyal woman. I think she still is that at the end, too.”
Caitríona Balfe and Sam Heughan in Season 8 of 'Outlander.'Courtesy: STARZ
The other change that Claire has gone through involves Jamie (Sam Heughan), who plays her husband and the love of her life. Their love began as a great passion, and while the passion is still there, it has been tempered by time.
“It's only natural,” Balfe says. “In any relationship any of us have been in, there is the passion you have at the beginning when people are unknown and bodies are unknown. There’s a different type of excitement in the first throes of love than there is years later. It doesn't mean the love is any less. In fact, generally, it means the love has deepened. They are an older married couple who have been through years and years together. They still make love all the time, and they are still madly, deeply passionate about each other. It's not new love, it's different — and it should be different. I think that's a more honest portrayal. These things are supposed to evolve.”
The one thing that hasn’t evolved over the years appears to be Jamie’s temper. In the second half of Season 7, Claire and Lord John (David Berry) thought Jamie had been killed when the ship he was journeying on from France to the New World sank. So, when Claire was about to be arrested by the British for being a spy, Lord John did the one thing he could to save her life: He married her. The two never planned to be intimate; Lord John prefers men. But one night in a drunken stupor, they did make love – although they both claim they were making love to Jamie rather than to each other.
Related: Outlander’s Caitríona Balfe Says Final Season Was Her Most Difficult Yet — Here’s Why (Exclusive)
When Jamie found out about it, he was furious and nearly killed Lord John. He did leave him in the clutches of some Revolutionaries and that was almost the end of Lord John, but he managed to survive. Still, Jamie has yet to forgive him.
“I have sympathy for Jamie in this,” Balfe says. “I think Claire is maybe a little impatient with him, but it's understandable. It's actually quite funny how grumpy Jamie is about the whole thing. I do think eventually [he will get over it], but everyone takes time to get over a hurt and a betrayal. For Jamie, even though it was unintended by Claire and Lord John, it’s still a hurt and a betrayal for him.”
During her chat with Parade, Balfe shared more of her thoughts on the events of Season 8 of Outlander, including the truth behind Frank Randall’s history book saying Jamie dies in battle, directing an episode, and what life after Outlander may hold for the cast that has become like family.
The other big issue this season is Frank's book that is brought back from the future by Brianna (Sophie Skelton). Do you think Claire actually believes Frank was lying about Jamie's death to keep her in the future with him?
It's so confusing for her and for Jamie. She had such a strong contract with Frank (Tobias Menzies) when she came back that she would put Jamie aside, she wouldn’t go looking for him, she’d stop talking about him and they would raise Brianna together, her and Frank. That was her contract. It caused her so much pain to have to put Jamie away—even though he never left her heart. To have to do that, it cost her deeply. So, to find out that Frank was doing exactly what he had asked her not to do is really difficult. I think she’s not quite sure: Why would he do that? Why is he saying this? Did he want to punish her? Keep her away from him? All of these things… It doesn't really make sense to her, so she's trying to work it out and figure out what his point was the whole time. It will take time for them to figure it out.
Diana hasn’t finished writing the end of the story, but the series is coming to an end. What would you like to see happen for Claire at the end?
I mean, I would like her to end up on a beach in Hawaii, sipping a cocktail. But, you know, I didn't get my request! I think for me, it's important that they're together—that they are each other's home. If they can stay together, then that's fitting for them.
Do you think fans will be happy with the ending?
I don't know the ending! I think Matt [Roberts, showrunner] was very clever in making it so that we couldn't spoil it. I know he filmed various different things and there were different versions of scripts going around. I have only seen the first three episodes, so I'm as curious as everyone else!

There are many layers to Claire—she’s a medical professional, a mother, a wife and now a matriarch. Are any of those roles more prominent in Season 8?
I think her role as a wife and mother are probably the prominent features of this season. She still does medical stuff, but I would say it's the other two.
You also directed an episode. How has that affected you as an actress?
It was amazing. Some of the best times that I've had on the show was getting to do that. It was such an honor that they allowed me to do it. I feel so grateful they allowed me that opportunity. It was so fun. It was so fun working with the writers that way, the different department heads, all my fellow actors. I loved every second of it. Yes, I would love to do more.
It definitely affects how you approach your acting. Until you have understood all of the prep that goes into things and the reasons why certain decisions are made… I think it's made me much more flexible as an actor. I expect people to be prepared, and I was so prepared as a director. I like being very prepared as an actor. I understand the work that goes into it, and I understand what everyone brings to the table. It made me more understanding, but I also expect a lot from people, too.

You and Sam, Sophie and Richard have been doing this for so long and have been so close over this past decade. Do you think you will remain friends after?
Of course, we see each other all the time. We keep in touch all the time. We’re incredible friends. It goes beyond the four of us, John Bell and Izzy [Meikle-Small], Lauren [Lyle] and Caitlin [O'Ryan], we are a family. I think it’s very important to all of us that we keep in with each other and see how everyone’s doing. We hang out as much as we can. It’s great.
This series was such a huge portion of your life. Would you ever do another series? Maybe a British series that’s only six episodes?
Wouldn’t that be nice! That’s the dream. Of course, I would, but I’m definitely quite cautious. Especially this year, I think there were things that were offered but felt too soon to jump into another series. I think I understand the amount of work that goes into something and how a character has to be really important to you to be able to sustain you all of the years, so I think if anything, it let’s me know that I have to choose wisely. Of course, I would, but the dream is always the BBC six-episode.
Location, too, would play a factor, because you’re a mother now, which you weren’t when you started Outlander.
That’s always the first consideration. How would it affect my family. As a mom or a dad, I think that becomes your first consideration in every endeavor you decide to do.
You've been playing a character over a 30-year lifespan. Is it difficult to play older than you?
No! It's brilliant! Because when you're having a really rough day—like if you haven't slept because your child kept you up all night—you're like, "Well, I can just bring these wrinkles into the character." But really, it's been amazing to have played a character over a 30-year lifespan, it’s incredible. It's not very often that you get to do that. To put yourself in the shoes of someone who has changed over the decade… we were on the show for over a decade, and I know how much I've changed in those ten years. So, you think about Claire, well, three times that amount. That was part of the privilege of doing that.

Denver Airport Asks Travelers to Donate Gift Cards to TSA Employees and Sparks Major Backlash
As the government's partial shutdown stretches on, Transportation Security Administration (TSA) workers are struggling to make ends meet after Congress was unable to pass a budget to find the Department of Homeland Security. Since mid-February, tens of thousands of TSA employees have been working without regular pay, and many of them have said they've experienced financial hardships as a result.
As a result, some people are looking for a way to help them out. However, Denver International Airport's (DENs) attempt to rally the community by asking for donations for the agents working without pay has massively backfired, as travelers have expressed frustration and concerns over the request for gift cards ranging between $10 and $20. Here's what they had to say.
❗DONATIONS NEEDED❗ Support the dedicated TSA employees working without pay by donating $10 and $20 grocery store and gas gift cards. Visa gift cards cannot be accepted.
Drop off locations can be found at Final Approach cell phone lot and in the Jeppesen Terminal. pic.twitter.com/DZPs5gMuoV
Friday morning was likely a challenging one for TSA workers who woke up to their first full missed paycheck since lawmakers were unable to come to a deal on the funding package for the agency that runs the TSA. As such, officials at Denver's airport released a plea for help via a press release, asking the public to drop off gift card donations for local companies, like gas stations, grocery stories, and more.
“Once again, DEN’s federal employees are working tirelessly to ensure our airport operates efficiently and safely without getting paid. TSA employees just missed their first paycheck, and as we enter a busy Spring Break travel period, we want to do what we can to ease the stress of this moment,” a statement from the airport's CEO Phil Washington said. “That’s why we are calling on the public, our passengers, and other airport employees to donate grocery store and gas gift cards to help make this moment a little more bearable for these federal workers.”

People Reacted to the Airport's Request for DonationsThe airport also shared its plea on X, which immediately drew mixed reactions from followers. While there was a lot of political commentary that bashed both sides of the aisle—some users accused democrats of "holding up the show," while others blamed republications for not passing the "bill that keeps being presented to them"—a lot of people balked at the idea of having to pay someone else's employees while struggling to make ends meet themselves.
"The total estimated Passenger Facility Charge (PFC) revenue collected by Denver International Airport (DEN) for 2025 is $162,849,266," one person wrote. "And you all have the stones to ask for donations. Get off the wallet."
"How about you ask the billionaire companies flying out of your airport to donate," another person wrote.
Then there were those who worried about the legality of it, with multiple people worrying about whether offering TSA workers gifts could be considered a crime. "Let me get this straight... you're asking travelers to BRIBE federal employees," a traveler asked.

The Partial Shutdown Has Entered its Fourth WeekListen, I feel for the TSA workers. Not only does it have to be stressful to work without pay and see your job used as a negotiation tactic by the federal government, but many of these people likely already depleted their savings during the 2025 government shutdown. And while yes, employees did receive back pay—a sticking point for many commenters on X who wanted to know if they would be reimbursed for their donations after the government finally released TSA paychecks—there were those who left their jobs in search of other work because they couldn't afford to continue working without any idea of when money would start coming in again.
As this shutdown enters its fourth week, I can see why airport officials are looking for a way to keep TSA agents on the job for as long as they can. Many airports are already reporting increased wait times, delays, and even stories about passengers missing their flights. While the donations are absolutely a nice idea, lobbying congress to come together on a funding bill would probably make a bigger difference in the lives of these employees.
Classic '60s Group Ranked Among 'Best Rock Bands'
Nick Mason will tell you Pink Floyd almost didn't happen.
If Roger Waters hadn't asked Richard Wright for a cigarette in a London polytechnic hallway, the group Billboard recently ranked among the “Best Bands" might never have existed.
Waters, Mason and Wright met as students at that London polytechnic, now the University of Westminster — and Mason still remembers exactly how it went down.
“We sort of met because Roger knew that I had a car,” he recalled on Brian Johnson’s A Life on the Road television series. “I’m not sure he knew what the car was because actually it was an Austin 7 Chummy with a top speed of 20mph and had no brakes!”
“But when he asked if I might lend it to him,” he continued. “I said, ‘No,’ but he also tried to get a cigarette off [Wright] and famously Rick went, ‘No,’ which sort of set the pattern really for the next 50 years. … It was an important moment because if it hadn’t been for that, we might not be sitting here now.”

Soon after, the trio began playing music together in a group called Sigma 6 alongside several other young musicians. The band name and lineup changed frequently in those early days, but bringing in Waters’ childhood friend, Syd Barrett, proved a turning point.
According to Mason’s memoir Inside Out: A Personal History of Pink Floyd, the band was a resident act at London’s Countdown Club and played other venues like the Marquee Club when managers Peter Jenner and Andrew King discovered them. Under their guidance, Pink Floyd began to make a name for themselves in London’s underground music scene.
Around this time, the band started experimenting with lighting effects and improvisational sounds, moving toward psychedelia — a big leap from their earlier R&B and blues covers.
In early 1967, Pink Floyd signed with EMI and soon released their debut album, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn. As their popularity grew, however, Barrett’s mental health declined. Touring became increasingly difficult, and the band recruited guitarist David Gilmour as an additional member.
At first, Barrett stayed on as a nonperforming songwriter, but by 1968, he decided to leave the group for good.
“He wasn’t capable or willing to do what was needed,” Gilmour said about Barrett, adding that he later felt some guilt over how the band handled things. “When you’re young and ambitious, you’re also pretty callous, and we just got on with it.”
Pink Floyd’s second album, A Saucerful of Secrets (1968), included Barrett’s final contributions. From that point forward, Waters stepped up as the group’s creative leader.
Between 1967 and 2014, Pink Floyd released 15 studio albums that set a new standard for psychedelic and progressive rock. Their iconic 1970s releases, The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals and The Wall, tackled everything from authority and alienation to war, mental health and the struggles of life.
With that momentum, Pink Floyd became one of the best-selling music artists in history, with more than 250 million albums sold worldwide. Two of their most beloved albums, The Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall, were also inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
Over the years, Pink Floyd has appeared on countless “Greatest of All Time” lists. Most recently, Billboard placed them at No. 4, just behind Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones and The Beatles.
Even with all their success, disagreements and creative differences eventually pulled the band apart. While they’ve reunited for a few projects over the years, Waters, Mason and Gilmour have largely pursued separate careers.

Taylor Swift Calls This Ina Garten Pasta Her 'Go-To Dinner Party Dish,' and I Can See Why
If there's one thing I know about Taylor Swift, it's that she's more than just a global pop star with a huge discography and dozens of sold-out stadium shows like the Eras Tour. She's also a great friend, loving daughter, one-half of the Traylor romance, the opener for the Kansas City Chiefs, a proud cat mom and—last but not least—a passionate home cook.
Though she's gained recognition for her own viral creations, like her chai sugar cookies and the homemade Pop-Tarts she's made for her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and the Kansas City Chiefs, she's always been happy to shout out her favorite dishes from the culinary greats.
In her 2019 profile with Elle Magazine, Swift mentioned the one dish she always makes when she hosts dinner parties:Ina Garten's spaghetti and meatballs.
I love Taylor, and I turn up her music all the time when I'm in the kitchen. I also consider Ina Garten my "Cooking Fairy," and I love her elegantly uncomplicated and oh-so-fabulous dinner recipes. Considering all of that, of course I got hungry to try this Taylor-approved Ina recipe out for myself.

How to Make Ina Garten's Real Meatballs and SpaghettiMix the ground meat, both of the bread crumbs, parsley, Parmesan, salt, pepper, nutmeg, egg and 3/4 cup of warm water in a bowl. Combine the meat mixture carefully, then, using your hands, gently form the mixture into 14 to 16 2-inch meatballs.

Pour equal amounts of vegetable oil and olive oil into a skillet about 1/4 inch deep and heat over medium. Working in batches without overcrowding the pan, brown the meatballs on all sides. Discard the oil, but don't clean out the pan. Add in more olive oil and bring to a heat, then add in the chopped onion and sauté for 10 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for one minute.
Pour in the wine and cook on high until most of the liquid evaporates. Stir in the tomatoes, parsley, salt and pepper. Add the meatballs to the sauce and simmer on low until the meatballs are cooked through, which should take about 25 minutes. Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti according to package directions. Serve the meatballs and sauce over the pasta and top with grated Parmesan.

Thanks to Taylor and Ina, I've found my new favorite Sunday dinner. The recipe was super easy to follow, and it didn't create a lot of dirty dishes or require any specialty ingredients.
The meatballs proved to be a savory—thanks to the combination of homemade breadcrumbs and parsley and Parmesan—and the three different meats created a delicate, juicy meatball that holds its own in the sauce.
The sautéed onions and garlic melt into the sauce, creating a bold allium bite. The final splash of red wine added a deep flavor that rounded out the whole dish. While I did wish there was a bit more sauce for the amount of meatballs, every forkful was still heaven!

George R.R. Martin Only Has 3 Dunk and Egg Books but 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' Can Go Past Season 3
Game of Thrones fans still have flashbacks of the disappointment that comes when going past the source material. So, it’s not surprising that A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is possibly feeling the pressure. There are only three Dunk and Egg stories by George R.R. Martin, and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms showrunner, Ira Parker, plans to make a season for each book.
While many shows in the Game of Thrones universe are taking two years to complete, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms may only take one. This means that by 2028, Parker could be out of source material. So, how can the series go on further without that source material and without disappointing viewers?
George R.R. Martin Has Another Dunk and Egg Book ComingIt’s been 16 years since the third novella, The Mystery Knight, was published. Before that, Martin had only taken seven years between the novellas, and he was working on A Dance with Dragons at the same time, which was released in 2011. Since then, there’s been little word on whether there would be more to the Dunk and Egg story, but there is good news.
Martin is currently working on a fourth book. While Martin has stated before that he wouldn’t work on the fourth novella until he finished Winds of Winter, the wait for the sixth A Song of Ice and Fire book has become a running theme for fans. It looks like a fourth book in Dunk’s stories could happen first instead. There isn’t a set title for it yet, but The Village Knight has been uttered in the past.
This could end up being released ahead of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 3. If not, there is at least an idea there for Parker to run with. Parker also told The Hollywood Reporterthat there is an outline for 12 more books, and those outlines could be enough to develop seasons.
George R.R. Martin Won’t Be Pushed Out of ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’While Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon have eventually phased out working with Martin, Parker promises that isn’t going to be the case on A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. This is how he hopes to avoid the downfall of the series.
Parker and Martin have already loosely discussed the future of the series, should HBO order more of the story. Martin was in the writer’s room on occasion for Season 1, and that’s the way it will remain beyond that.
However, that doesn’t mean the stories will end up being the exact same. The general storylines will match, and that’s somewhat easy thanks to the outlines provided and the canon already established in the universe. It offers hope for book fans as the TV series gets ahead of the story.
Savannah Guthrie's Mom Nancy Update: Why No One Has Claimed Reward Money, According to Former FBI Agent
Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie‘s mom, Nancy Guthrie, is still missing going on six weeks after the abduction from her Tucson, Ariz., home—and a retired FBI agent weighed in on why no one has come forward with information to claim the reward money.
On the Thursday, March 12 episode of Brian Entin Investigates, the investigative reporter and NewsNation correspondent interviewed Steve Moore, a retired FBI special agent.
"Why do you think no one has come forward yet?" Entin asked, pointing to the $1 million reward from Savannah and the $100,000 reward from the FBI for information leading to the return of Nancy.
"I think the reason is most likely the fact that the only people who have knowledge of this are culpable," Moore explained. "And so I think what's gonna happen here is that, whatever they've done—the bad guys—have done it in such a way that they've kept it from other people."
He also pointed out, "And there may have been people out there who have provided information that will one day be determined to have been valuable. But it wasn't viewed as such at the time."
Related: Savannah Guthrie’s Mom Nancy Update: FBI Agent Weighs in on "Disturbing’"Possibility
To that, Entin again wondered why that huge amount of money hadn't "tempted" a potential accomplice—especially when they could get a deal.
"Yeah, they can get a deal," Moore conceded. "But if the horrible thing is true that Nancy is no longer alive, there's not gonna be a good deal for you. And how are you going to spend $1 million when you're going to be in prison for most of the rest of your life?"
Additionally, the former FBI agent noted that rewards "have pretty strong limits" when it comes to paying out to those culpable for the crime.
Nancy was last seen at her Catalina Foothills home on Jan. 31, with the Pima County Sheriff's Department officially kicking off its investigation on Feb. 1. As of writing, a suspect has not been named.

Mom Flames Fellow Passenger For Staring Down Her Crying Baby and People Have Mixed Reactions
Flying has always required a certain level of patience. You share a tight metal cabin with hundreds of strangers, each carrying their own travel habits, anxieties, and expectations. Sometimes the tension bubbles up in unexpected ways.
That is exactly what happened in a recent TikTok video posted by a mother who says a fellow passenger repeatedly glared at her while her baby cried during a flight.
Get the latest travel inspiration and news delivered straight to your inbox.
The Viral Plane Moment That Sparked the Debate @momlifehappiness#rude #airline #babycrying #karen #karensoftiktok
♬ Rude - MAGIC!In the TikTok video, the mother explains in the text overlay that her baby began crying before takeoff and then slept like "an angel" the rest of the flight. Despite that, the mom claimed that a passenger several seats down leaned out to shoot her judgmental looks throughout the flight. Eventually, the mom waved at her, and the woman became embarrassed and looked away. She ended with the opinion that babies will cry, and that passengers should do their best to "be an adult" and know moms are "trying their hardest."
Unsurprisingly, her take ruffled a few feathers. The comment section exploded with a variety of opinions, ranging from outrage on the mother's behalf to disgust at the mom.
"I don't get why people hate babies crying in PUBLIC areas," wrote one empathetic user. "Fly private then. If you can’t afford shut up and deal with it."
"Guys it was her BABY," wrote another supportive commenter. "Babies cry a lot… its normal. I don't understand what's the standard that all of sudden kids are suppose to be quite. It's a baby what do you expect."
But not everyone was in support.
"Babies don't belong on flights when parents cannot control them," claimed one outraged follower. "I DON'T WANT TO HEAR YOUR SCREAMING BRAT"
"You’re lucky she just stared at you. I would, too," stated another.
The conversation stayed fairly divided.
Why Crying Babies Trigger Such Strong Reactions on FlightsIf you have ever sat near a crying baby at 35,000 feet, you know how quickly it can become the center of attention. Airplanes amplify sensory experiences. The cabin is confined, the noise constant, and there is no stepping outside for fresh air.
Survey data shows the issue sits squarely among travelers’ biggest irritations. One survey of 2,000 Americans found that 27 percent listed a crying baby as one of the most annoying parts of flying, second only to someone kicking the back of a seat.
Interestingly, sympathy still exists. A survey by TravelZoo found nearly 65 percent of travelers say they are sympathetic toward parents with crying babies, even though many still admit the noise is frustrating.
The Quiet Pressure Parents Feel When Traveling With BabiesParents often feel that pressure long before they even board the plane. The fear of disturbing other passengers can turn a family trip into a stressful logistical puzzle.
One survey found 50 percent of parents have avoided flying entirely because they worry their baby will disrupt the cabin or struggle to sleep on the plane. That anxiety shows up in subtle ways. Some parents bring small gift bags with earplugs and candy for nearby passengers as a preemptive apology. Others book flights during nap times or choose seats near the front of the plane in hopes of quicker boarding and easier movement.
The truth is that babies are particularly sensitive to pressure changes during takeoff and landing. Their ears cannot equalize as easily as adults, which can cause discomfort and crying. Pediatric travel experts often recommend feeding babies during ascent and descent because swallowing helps relieve ear pressure.

Practical Tips for Flying With a BabyTraveling with infants will never be completely stress free, but there are ways to make the experience easier for both parents and fellow passengers.
1. Time feedings for takeoff and landing: Feeding a baby during ascent and descent can actually help relieve ear pressure changes and can keep children feeling soothed and distracted, according to The Center for Disease Control (CDC).
2. Bring more supplies than you think you need: Extra diapers, wipes, and a spare outfit can save the day if turbulence or delays stretch the flight longer than expected. By keeping a baby clean and comfortable, it cuts down on the risk of them being fussy.
3. Pack small distractions: Soft toys, board books, or sensory objects can help redirect a baby’s attention when fussiness starts to build.
4. Walk the aisle when possible: A short stroll down the aisle can calm babies who become restless after sitting for long periods.
5. Accept that some crying is unavoidable: Even with careful preparation, babies cry. Experienced travelers often say the best approach is to focus on soothing the child rather than worrying about every reaction around you.

The Unwritten Etiquette of Sharing the SkiesFlying with strangers is a social experiment in patience. Everyone brings their own expectations to the experience. Some passengers want silence and sleep. Others bring families, snacks, and a sense of adventure.
The real lesson may be simpler than either side of the debate suggests. Air travel is one of the few places where hundreds of people from different backgrounds share a confined space for hours at a time. That requires a certain amount of grace from everyone onboard. After all, every adult passenger was once the crying baby on someone else’s flight.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos Says Nancy Guthrie Suspect ‘Absolutely’ Could Strike Again
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos is warning the public that the suspect in the Nancy Guthrie investigation could strike again.
As the search for the 84-year-old mother of Savannah Guthrie continues, Nanos was asked by NBC Nightly News’ Liz Kreutz on Tuesday, Mar. 12 whether it’s possible her kidnapper “could strike again.”
“Absolutely,” Nanos said. “We believe we know why he did this, and we believe that it was targeted, but we’re not 100 percent sure of that, so it’d be silly to tell people, ‘Yeah, don’t worry about it. You’re not his target.’”
“Don’t think for a moment because it happened to the Guthrie family you’re safe. Keep your wits about you," he added.
The sheriff was also asked about the abductor’s possible motive for kidnapping, and he said that while law enforcement has a theory, he won't be sharing it publicly just yet.
"I think from day one we had some strong beliefs about what happened, and those beliefs haven’t diminished," he said, before refusing to answer the question if he believes it was a burglary gone wrong.
In her reporting, Kreutz noted that the Pima County Sheriff's Department is “intentionally withholding their theory and other details in the case, citing the integrity of the investigation.”
The journalist added that in her conversation with Nanos, he confirmed authorities are looking into reported internet issues near Nancy's home the night of her abduction, as well as the possibility a WiFi jammer device could've been used by the suspect.
Kreutz also reported that Nanos said he was still "hopeful" the DNA evidence recovered could lead to the perpetrator.

The Hateful Eightactor has always been described as a country man, even more so when it comes to putting food on his table the old-fashioned way. While appearing on the Table Manners podcast, Russell spoke about his appreciation and respect for hunting and said he "thanks them for their service."
"By the way, there’s no pleasure in the taking of life," he explained. "There’s great pleasure and honor in taking an animal that feeds you. And I respect that and honor that. And it means a big deal to me. And you know, I make no apologies."
His son, Wyatt, also chimed in that it's simply a part of how he grew up and not many people realize the reality of what it means to hunt for your own food. He explained that people see food in a grocery store and have "no connection" to it at all, versus being raised on knowing "that thing that you took is gonna be your dinner meal." Russell does admit that the lifestyle isn't meant for everyone and "It’s not something I push on anybody."
"I mean, it’s not for everybody, but I like bringing down my own meat. I grew up in that family," he said.
Wyatt admits he's never gone hunting with his father, having always been busy during hunting season with hockey. He reveals having gone bird hunting, with Russell chiming in that it could be something his son gets into later in life. The Monarch actor does have an affinity for elk meat and describes the best way to cook it, and his last meal would include a tenderloin with buttery corn, a fully-loaded baked potato, and asparagussoup.
