When you hear the name Brandi Carlile, a lot of things come to mind, but messy distortion, screaming, and electric guitars typically aren't among them. Carlile's talents often lie in beautifully complex lyrics, acoustic guitars, and powerful piano riffs. But over the weekend of July 24th, Carlile proved she can do both at once—and knock your socks off while doing it.

Carlile recently shared a video clip of her set at the famous Newport Folk Fest, where she covered the iconic Alanis Morissette anthem "Uninvited." But the coolest part is that she did so with an unmistakable Seattle grunge style that left jaws on the floor.

"That’s a good old-fashioned face melter," added another.

"May every girl learn to this song and jam this hard," noted another.

Alanis Morissette and Brandi Carlile's New Friendship

Carlile had the pleasure of introducing and inducting Morissette into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in June 2026. She even covered the song at the ceremony, but instead of being backed by roaring guitars, she strummed her acoustic alongside some impressive string orchestra players.

Previously, the two unexpectedly collaborated on a performance during Carlile's three-day Mothership Weekend in Miramar Beach, Fla., to honor Olivia Newton-John in 2025. They sang a gorgeous rendition of the Grease hit "Hopelessly Devoted to You." In speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Carlile revealed that the event was actually where the two met and they became "instant friends."

"You know, I come from Seattle in the '90s," she elaborated. "So I grew up in Seattle in the '90s when the grunge movement was sort of ubiquitous. And one thing that wasn't ubiquitous at the time was like a female voice in rock and roll that was like the voice kind of of my generation. And so when Jagged Little Pill came out, it was a revelation. It was a baptism to so many of us that wanted to hear a woman sing like that. And every album that she's followed it up with has just been more and more innovative and outside the box. She's just somebody I really admire specifically as a songwriter, but also as a singer and now a person."

When asked if there was a collaboration between the two powerhouse songwriters in the future, Carlile said she'd be ready "any day" to do it.

While we have yet to get an official collaboration, Carlile's grungy homage to Morissette is a nice filler in the meantime.

The White House has something to say about Noah Kahan, and it isn’t good. 

The Grammy-nominated singer wasn’t exactly thrilled when the administration used his song ‘American Cars’ from the album ‘Great Divide’ as the soundtrack to a social media post featuring Donald Trump’s visit to a General Motors plant in Michigan. After Kahan got news of the unauthorized use, he quickly snapped back, commenting on the post: “Would never approve of my music being used in support of you or this administration.” 

Fans took to Instagram, supporting Kahan with replies including, “Love you Noah. We won’t let the orange guy ruin this song for us!” and “Cease and desist tonight, king?”

While Trump and the White House did remove the audio from the Instagram post, it still remains on TikTok despite Kahan’s criticism. 

But the story doesn’t end there. Now the White House, via Kaelan Dorr, the Deputy Assistant to the President, Principal Deputy Communications Director, Head of Digital Strategy, is clapping back at Kahan. 

In a recent X post, Dorr reshared a Variety article titled, ‘Noah Kahan Slams White House for Using Song in Social Media Post: Would Never Approve,’ adding, “Symptoms of TDS apparently include having a northern attitude.”

The unexpected retort refers to Trump Derangement Syndrome (a fictitious disorder used to explain criticism of the President) and Kahan’s hit track ‘Northern Attitude.’ Kahan has not responded to Dorr’s post, but his fans have. 

Things got heated in the comment section, with Kahan’s supporters blasting the Trump administration: “Ask for permission to use somebody else’s intellectual property. You know better. Now, you just look like you have TDS - Trump Devotion Syndrome”, “It’s easy. Ask the artist for permission to use their songs. If they say yes, off you go. If they say no, then there you are,” and “How about you stop stealing people’s music when they say stop stealing their music?”

Kahan isn’t the first artist to find fault with Trump for unauthorized use of their music. In 2016, Adele took offense when the then-presidential candidate’s used ‘Rolling in the Deep,’ George Harrison’s estate slmammed the use of ‘Here Comes the Sun’ during the 2016 Republican National Convention, Beyoncé opposed campaign staffer Steven Cheung’s use of ‘Freedom’ in a video during Trump’s 2024 campaign, Celine Dion criticized Trump for using her epic Titanic ballad ‘My heart Will Go On’ in 2024, and more recently, Katy Perry said she was “deeply appalled and angry” to hear her song (‘Firework’) in a White House TikTok video.

Patrick Clancy's presence in the courtroom has not gone unnoticed.

As the Lindsay Clancy trial continues, Patrick took the witness stand and was questioned for two days. He has openly supported Lindsay, despite being the father of the three children prosecutors allege she killed in January 2023. His continued support has become one of the most closely watched aspects of the trial, particularly as the defense argues that Lindsay was experiencing postpartum psychosis and was not criminally responsible for her actions.

Parade spoke with lawyer Margaret McLean, host of The Margaret McLean Show, about what Patrick's support suggests.

"Patrick Clancy’s support doesn't change the laws of premeditation, but it changes the atmosphere of the courtroom," McLean says. "It strips the prosecution of their emotional centerpiece and forces the jury to look past anger and directly into the terrifying reality of postpartum psychosis."

"To a jury, a grieving father's forgiveness is incredibly powerful. Patrick lived with Lindsay, saw her daily struggles, and witnessed her mental state firsthand," McLean continues. "By publicly forgiving her and stating that she was a loving mother who was 'failed by a broken system,' he provides the defense with its most potent weapon. His support says to the jury: If the person who suffered the most profound loss in this tragedy can see that this was a medical emergency rather than a malicious act, how can we, as strangers, call it murder?"

McLean also explains that Patrick's support "shifts the focus away from his former wife and targets the healthcare providers."

Lindsay's defense team has provided a full list of the medications that she was prescribed in the months after she gave birth to her youngest son, Callan.

"Patrick has previously spoken out about the rapid rotation of heavy psychiatric drugs she was prescribed in the months leading up to the tragedy. His alignment with the defense positions the case not as 'Commonwealth v. Mother,' but rather as 'Family v. Severe Postpartum Psychosis and Overmedication.' It turns the trial into a broader societal conversation about maternal mental health care," McLean adds.

While Patrick's support may shape how jurors view Lindsay's mental state, it is only one piece of a much larger case. Ultimately, the jury must weigh all of the evidence presented during the trial before deciding whether prosecutors have proved Lindsay was criminally responsible for the deaths of Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months—or whether her defense has established that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis at the time of the killings.

On July 29, 1985, Randy Travis released "On the Other Hand" for the first time. It barely cracked the country chart. A year later, re-released as his third single, it hit No. 1.

By the time Travis released “On the Other Hand,” he had already spent nearly 10 years chasing a career in country music. His first singles came out in 1978 under his real name, Randy Traywick. 

“She’s My Woman” peaked at No. 91, and “I’ll Take Any Willing Woman” didn’t chart at all. His big break finally came in early 1985, when he signed with Warner Bros. 

"On the Other Hand" got off to a slow start, reaching No. 67 on the country chart and gaining little traction at radio. Travis quickly turned things around with his next single, "1982," released in December. The song climbed to No. 6, giving his career a much-needed boost.

The problem was that his label was not convinced he had another song good enough to follow it up, so they went back to where it all started.

Warner Bros. re-released "On the Other Hand" as Travis' third single in April 1986. Unlike the first time, the song quickly caught on with listeners, climbing to the top of the country chart by late July. It would be the first of 16 No. 1 singles Travis would earn throughout his career.

The song went on to win Song of the Year at both the CMA and ACM Awards in 1986, with the honors going to songwriters Don Schlitz and Paul Overstreet. Travis also took home the ACM Award for Single of the Year.

Overstreet and Schlitz were actually working on another song when they came up with “On the Other Hand.” 

"We were trying to write the theme for another song. It was the idea that when you have one woman, you shouldn't be looking for another one," Overstreet recalled to Country Weekly. 

"So, right in the middle of the song, we kind of bantered some lines back and forth, and Don said, 'but on the other hand,' and I said, 'there's a golden band.' From that point on, we looked at each other and kind of got that glitter in our eyes and finished it real quick. Then we went to lunch."

It was a quick lunch, but the song they left behind would help launch one of country music's most celebrated careers.

Just as we feared that Fear the Walking Dead was leaving Netflix, there is some exciting and surprising news. Netflix and AMC have made a deal that will see the entire Walking Dead franchise make its way to Netflix globally.

In a way, the decision shouldn’t be surprising news, as The Walking Dead, which has been available on Netflix exclusively in the U.S. since 2011, is one of the biggest shows on the streaming giant. 

It was clear Netflix was happy with the show, as it then gained non-exclusive rights to various other AMC shows, including those within the zombie-filled universe. Fear the Walking Dead, Dead City, and all others slowly migrated across, although they did remain on AMC+ as well. However, fans worried that all eight seasons of Fear the Walking Dead were going to leave Netflix, as the initial licensing deal came to an end.

While the shows proved popular in the U.S., the spinoffs didn’t make their way to Netflix internationally in such a huge way as they will now. Netflix didn’t just spend $500 million on the rights for the United States. These rights will see all 371 episodes of the entire universe head to Netflix globally, while also remaining on AMC+, where that streamer is available.

It will all start with The Walking Dead. Then in 2027, Fear the Walking Dead, Daryl Dixon, Dead City, The Ones Who Live, World Beyond, and Tales of the Walking Dead will all head to the streaming giant around the world. That will be every single episode of every single series. Also in early 2027, The Walking Dead will come to AMC+ in the United States for the first time ever!

In a press release, Vice President of Licensing at Netflix, Lori Conkling, shared, “We're excited to partner with AMC Global Media to continue to expand that access to more audiences around the world and bring the entirety of The Walking Dead Universe to Netflix.”

Kristin Dolan, the CEO of AMC Global Media, continued the sentiments, sharing, “This deal creates a global destination for this universe – all shows, all episodes – making the franchise more accessible than ever to fans around the world. In addition, the co-exclusive agreement allows us to bring the original series to AMC+ for the first time early next year. Netflix has been an important partner in making The Walking Dead one of the most successful franchises in the history of entertainment."

There isn’t a set date for all the shows to arrive in the global locations. Each geographic territory will follow its own plan based on the existing streaming licenses, so it’s important to follow your own “what’s coming” lists.

Don’t worry about this deal expiring quickly, either. While many other licensing deals between the two entities have been for a year, this one is much longer, lasting until 2032! Happy streaming!

In 2019, Mötley Crüe fans got the dirt on the band’s wild rise to fame with the Netflix biopic The Dirt.

Based on Neil Strauss’ book of the same name, the Jeff Tremaine-directed film starred Douglas Booth, Colson “Machine Gun Kelly” Baker, Daniel Webber and Iwan Rheon as Crüe bandmates Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee, Vince Neil, and Mick Mars.

Speaking on Billy Corgan's The Magnificent Others podcast in July 2026, Lee, 63, said he was “one hundred percent” happy with how the movie turned out.

But he also agreed with Corgan’s assessment that the film should have been a miniseries.

“I still can't believe they smashed what that book is based on, what 20 years or so, into an hour and a half,” Lee admitted.

After Corgan said, “This should have been a miniseries… could have been one of the greatest miniseries of all time,” Lee agreed with him.

“I know. God, we messed up,” he said, before laughing as Corgan commented that it would have been great to have a cliffhanger at the end of each episode, such as “Will Tommy be able to pay the rent? Tune in next week.”

“Oh man, that would have been really cool," Lee agreed.

The band didn’t actually mess up. The Dirt, both the book and the movie, brought Motley Crüe legions of new fans.

“We certainly have a lot of dirt, and I think you know, Neil, who's a great writer, I liked his approach at the time,” Lee recalled. “He would have a bunch of sitdowns with each guy separately, not with the band. And what happened doing it that way is literally like, we'd be reading something that Vince said, and I was like, I forgot about that. And so we all sort of reminded each other of things that we had forgotten, or that was extremely blurry.”

“We sort of each reminded each other of how insane it actually was,” he continued. “And then that, of course, inspired the movie and then to visually kind of put that together and see it. That’s where a lot of new young fans came about."

Lee noted that he'd answered countless emails from new fans who couldn't believe the band's wild backstory, which included crazy parties, drugs, women and in-fighting.

"These kids don't know," Lee said. "They have no idea. You know what I'm saying? Like this kid's 17 going like, ‘Is that really how it was?’  And they’ll never ever experience that time. Never. And so their curiosity, they're like, ‘Man, these guys, like what? They're still alive?’”

Lee previously praised all of the actors in The Dirt biopic and revealed it was wild to watch the recreation of the band's backstory.

"All the guys who played us in the movie did just a spectacular job — they really nailed each guy so well, it was mind-blowing,” he told Noise11, per Blabbermout.net. "I remember sitting there watching it with Nikki. While filming in New Orleans, watching the band rehearse, it was so bizarre to just sit there and basically watch yourself rehearse. We just looked at each other, like, 'God, this is f---ing weird.' And then, of course, there's just endless moments of, 'Woah, this is bizarre.' Everybody did such a great job exactly nailing each guy really, really well where it would give you goosebumps.”

Suddenly, the stage lights turn on. Hot. Bright.

The live band plays the show’s theme in a symphony of brass.

I shoot both arms in the air, one tucked inside Bernie’s beak and the other through a feathery hand. I lean my ear to my shoulder so that none of my head shows on-camera. The monitor below—what the viewers at home will see—shows only Bernie Bird, alert and ready.

Someone counts down, “Back in three. Two.”

One.

The set is dead quiet. My ears buzz.

“And now,” one of the cast members announces, “we have a very special appearance tonight. Ladies and gentlemen, returning to us after two years off-air, Birds on the Block’s very own Bernie Bird!”

The audience erupts with cheers and clapping.

My heart is thrumming in my chest. My arm is shaking inside Bernie’s feathery sleeve. I pull in a breath. Release it.

I can do this.

I’ve performed Bernie Bird a million times before.

I wait for the host to rush back behind the partition to perform the skit, just like we rehearsed.

Bernie Bird is ready.

I’m ready.

Instead, a pair of roughened, black lace-up boots stumble into place next to me. The person attached almost knocks into Bernie suspended above my head.

I look up and let out an involuntary gasp that echoes into the mic. My knee-jerk, over-the-top expressions betray me again.

Griffin Harvey stands beside me, squinting into the stage lights with a scowl beneath his beard as he tucks his phone into his pocket.

What in the world is he doing here? This isn’t what we practiced at all. The studio goes silent.

I hold my breath. We all do. For one second.

Two. Three.

That’s too long.

Because we’re on live television, because it’s quiet on set to the point of someone in the audience awkwardly coughing, and because I’m a professional—I’m a professional; I’m a damn professional—I flex my hand and move Bernie’s beak. I attune my voice to Bernie’s iconic nasal pitch, and then I ask into my headset, “Who are you?”

Natalie Jolley is opening up about why she had to leave Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro earlier than expected.

The dancer, 20, shared on July 29 that she suffered a concussion and a black eye during rehearsals, forcing her to step away from the competition after the show’s medical team determined she could not continue.

"Being part of @dancingwiththestars The Next Pro has been one of the biggest honors of my life, and although my time on the show ended unexpectedly, I’m walking away with so much gratitude for this opportunity," Jolley wrote in a statement shared with fans.

She explained that she "did everything" she could to remain in the competition, but her injuries ultimately made it impossible.

Despite the difficult exit, Jolley said the experience was one she will always remember. Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro marked her first time dancing on commercial television, and she admitted she was initially intimidated by the opportunity.

"As the days went on,” she wrote, "I found my confidence."

Jolley said the experience taught her the importance of stepping outside her comfort zone and embracing challenges, even when the outcome is unexpected.

She also shared gratitude for the people she met during her time on the show, saying she left with new friendships and memories she will carry forward.

"I truly believe everything happens for a reason, even when it’s hard to understand in the moment," Jolley wrote.

"I’m choosing to trust the process, keep moving forward, and believe that what’s meant for me will always find me."

While her journey on the competition has ended, Jolley said she plans to continue learning, growing and returning stronger from the setback. Fans have been more than supportive, too.

"Oof wow that eye was real swollen. But you are only just getting started and the world is your oyster!" one commenter said.

"The journey is just beginning. You’re a class act, and a star!" another added.

Even Carrie Ann Inaba chimed in.

"As an Asian American woman, I was so proud of you," she started.

"Your courage and grace have Inspired a whole new generation of dancers, especially young Asian American female dancers. Your journey may have been shorter than you wanted but you have made an impact and I hope you will continue to show up for yourself and others, and do the hard things. I feel like a proud aunty."

If you're particularly excited to get your colorful fall flower garden started this year, you actually don't need to wait. In fact, right now is actually the perfect time of year to start planting a variety of fall flowers.

That said, you shouldn't start planting any old fall flowers right now. There are certain autumn flowers that do best when planted in the summer, while there are others that should never be planted in the summer.

But which colorful fall flowers can actually be planted midsummer? To find out, we consulted with Mirela Bajic, Senior Garden Designer at U.K.-based design studio House Designer.

"July feels like the middle of summer, but for fall color it's actually planting time," Bajic tells Parade exclusively. "What goes in the ground now is what's still flowering in October."

8 Flowers to Plant Now for Fall Color1. Asters

Bajic describes asters as "the classic fall performer." As she explains, planting asters in midsummer will help them "establish through late summer and flower September into October in purples, pinks and blues, right when everything else is fading."

Additionally, asters are pollinator-friendly, and pollinators typically "pile onto" asters during late summer.

2. Chrysanthemums

Chrysanthemums, aka garden mums, are typically planted in early spring or early fall, per The Old Farmer's Almanac. However, Bajic recommends planting them in midsummer, instead.

"Plant garden mums now rather than buying them in pots in October and they root properly, flower harder and stand a real chance of coming back next year," she explains. "The supermarket pot mum in fall rarely survives because it never established."

3. Black-eyed-susans

Black-eyed-susans, which are part of the Rudbeckia genus, are "fast to establish" and they flower from "late summer deep into fall in golds and ambers," per Bajic. She adds that these plants are "tough, drought-tolerant once going and the seedheads feed birds after flowering."

4. Autumn Joy

"Planted now, [Autumn Joy] establishes easily in the heat, then the flower heads turn dusky pink to copper through fall," explains Bajic. Plus, pollinators love Autumn Joy in late summer, and the plant "holds structure into winter."

5. Japanese anemones

Japanese anemones are flower between August and October in beautiful shades of soft pink and white. Bajic notes that if you plant Japanese anemones now and water them well, this perennial plant will "take a little time but reward you for years."

6. Ornamental kale/cabbage

If you plant Brassica oleracea, typically referred to as ornamental kale or ornamental cabbage, in late summer, "the color actually improves as temperatures drop," per Bajic. She adds that this vibrant plant is "one of the few [plants] that peaks after frost." Come winter, you'll be very happy with your choice to plant ornamental cabbage months earlier.

7. Pansies and violas

When pansies and violas, which are both part of the Viola genus, are planted in mid or late summer, "they flower through fall and often into winter," says Bajic. She adds that pansies and violas are typically affordable, and they are a "reliable" source of color for a fall garden.

8. Goldenrod

If you plant goldenrod, aka Solidago, in the summer, you'll find that it "blazes gold in September," says Bajic. According to Family Handyman, you can actually plant goldenrod anytime of year—just make sure to water the plant consistently for a few weeks until it's established roots in the ground. Additionally, the plant is "brilliant for late pollinators," per Bajic.

3 Fall Flowers You Shouldn't Plant Right Now

Though some home gardeners may be tempted to plant the below three plants in the summer, Bajic warns that summer is not the right time to put these in the ground.

1. Dahlias

According to Bajic, dahlias are "everywhere in early fall, so people plant [dahlia] tubers in July/August expecting the same." However, this is actually much too late to plant dahlias. According to Bajic, you should plant dahlias in the spring, once the last frost is in the past.

"They need the full season from spring," she says.

2. Potted mums

Potted mums are typically "bought in bloom in September" and then planted in garden beds, explains Bajic. However, "they almost never root before frost and die. If you want mums, plant them now."

3. Sunflowers

Although sunflowers peak in midsummer and early fall, they need to be planted much sooner, ideally by early summer.

"A July/August sowing in most of the Northern Hemisphere runs out of season before they flower properly," Bajic explains.

Jon Bon Jovi has four children with his wife, Dorothea Hurley. Their third-born, Jake, has been in the spotlight recently, since he is married to the iconic Millie Bobby Brown from Stranger Things. His youngest child, Romeo, is ready to enter the spotlight, as well. He is a member of a rock band who is pursuing a music career.

On July 29, Romeo appeared on “The Dory Jackson Interview.” When speaking about his time in music school, he said, “For the longest time in middle school, when I knew I wanted to do music, I was like, ‘Man, but if you go to a college for music, you’re a total poser.’ I know that middle-school-me would probably call current-day-me a giant poser. But he was 12, so what does he know?"

Romeo attended the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music and graduated this May. Not only did he receive his degree, but he revealed that he met one of the founding members of his rock band, Lawn, on campus when asking about homework.

Romeo went on to speak about the important role his college education played in his life. “I didn’t know how to compose anything,” he said. “I just knew that I liked music, and I knew that I loved performing, and I knew that I loved writing.”

He continued, “I remember touring Miami and seeing the campuses and being like, ‘Okay, this is for me.’ That was like the nail in the coffin. I was 16, and I knew that, ‘Okay, music is what you want to do because for the first time you really feel at home here.’”

Bon Jovi spoke with The Independent about his son’s rock band back in 2025. He said, “The first singles are great. That’s all I’ve heard. People talk about these nepo babies, blah blah blah, but I’m not in there at all. He’s got his own vision, which I really appreciate.”

Social Distortion is keeping 2026 in full swing after announcing another tour.

Apart from their highly anticipated 2026 North American tour beginning in August, the '80s rock band is expanding their run with more shows across Latin America in November.

In an Instagram update, the band announced a five-date Latin America tour, with stops in some of the region's "beautiful cities."

Kicking off the five-date run on Nov. 6 in Mexico, the tour will continue to Argentina and a two-date run in Brazil before concluding on Nov. 17 in Chile.

The comment section was filled with fans who couldn't wait to see the band, composed of founding member Mike Ness on lead vocals and lead guitar, Jonny "2 Bags" Wickersham on rhythm guitar, Brent Harding on bass, David Hidalgo Jr. on drums and David Kalish on keyboards as a touring member.

The Latin America run will mark a major milestone for Social Distortion as it includes the band's first-ever performances in Chile and Mexico.

Meanwhile, the trek will also see the band's return to Argentina and Brazil for the first time in 16 years, following its last performance there in April 2010.

With five scheduled dates, the outing will be Social Distortion's most extensive Latin American tour to date.

The band's 2026 tour is in celebration of their new album, Born To Kill, their first full-length record in 15 years following Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes, released in 2011.

On the other hand, the band is gearing up for its North American run, kicking off on Aug. 25 in Arizona with stops in Texas, Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, Washington, D.C. and more before wrapping up on Oct. 3 in San Diego, California.

Adding to the excitement, the band will feature Descendents and The Chats as special guests on selected dates.

Bravo's Andy Cohen sparked a wave of discussion after honoring Dr. Anthony Fauci as his Watch What Happens Live “Mazel of the Day,” with fans reacting very differently depending on the social media platform.

The Bravo personality praised Fauci, celebrating him as someone who deserves recognition. While many fans on Threads applauded Cohen’s decision and thanked him for using his platform, the response on Facebook was far more divided, with commenters criticizing the tribute and urging Cohen to “stick to Housewives.”

On Threads, the reaction was overwhelmingly supportive. Fans flooded the comments with messages thanking Fauci for his public service, with one user writing, “Yay! Mazel love Dr Fauci a true hero! thank you!! ” Another praised Cohen directly, saying, “Thank you for using your platform @bravoandy.”

Other supporters called Fauci a “hero” and expressed appreciation for his work during the COVID-19 pandemic. “Amen!! Fauci is a hero!!” one commenter wrote, while another added, “Thank you, Dr. Fauci for your service.”

Some Threads users also framed the moment as a response to recent criticism aimed at Fauci, with one commenter writing, “What happened yesterday was a national disgrace.” Others defended their continued support for Fauci, noting they still receive updated COVID vaccines and appreciate his medical guidance.

However, not every Threads user agreed. A few commenters pushed back against Cohen’s choice, accusing him of entering political territory. “Oh come on Andy don't start to get into politics because you don't know what you are talking about,” one person wrote.

The conversation took a noticeably different tone on Facebook, where Cohen’s post drew a much more polarized response. Several commenters criticized him for speaking out, with remarks including, “Stick to Housewives Andy” and “Stay in your lane dude!”

Critics questioned Fauci’s past decisions and public testimony, with some referencing his congressional appearances and the COVID-19 response. “Why need a pardon? Or plead the fifth?” one commenter wrote, while another added, “Did he lie in journal or did he lie in congress in his first interview?”

Others mocked Cohen’s support of Fauci, including comments about COVID boosters and accusations that he was simply repeating information he had been given. “Look at Andy just reading what he was told,” one Facebook user wrote.

Still, Cohen also had supporters on the platform, with fans defending his message and thanking him for speaking out. “Bravo Andy we support your opinions,” one commenter wrote, while another said, “Well said Andy.” The split reactions highlight how differently audiences can engage with the same celebrity post depending on the platform.

“Roll With It” was a hit funk song released by Steve Winwood in 1988. The song, which spent four weeks as the top song on the Billboard Hot 100, was nominated for two Grammy Awards. It also hit No. 1 on the Billboard mainstream rock chart and the Billboard adult contemporary chart.

The music video for “Roll With It” was directed by David Fincher, who is known for his work on hit films like Fight Club, Seven, The Social Network, and Gone Girl. It captures Winwood performing a song in a bar while the customers dance with one another.

Winwood went on to join a supergroup called Blind Faith, which was comprised of Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker, and Ric Grech. In an interview with Louder Sound, he spoke about the difficulties of being in such an iconic band. “Blind Faith came into being," he stated. "And there were immediate problems – with egos, with management and organization. Those are all massive problems for a supergroup. The trouble is, when you start with the idea for a new group, you have the whole of your life to figure out what you’re going to do, how to fine-tune it and hone the act.”

He continued, "Then, if it’s successful, your next problem is: what do we do next? You get stuck for a follow-up. It’s all about timing. You have to move very quickly on to the next project and make sure it isn’t a pale imitation of the debut. I blame the industry in part for putting pressure on supergroups, because you’re trying to present a product to the world at large, and every minute you take is money lost as far the business is concerned. They’re so excited with their supergroup, they want more. The result of that pressure is, you start making mistakes, because you can’t just throw something together."

Winwood won two Grammy Awards and an Ivor Novello Award. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004. He is currently 78.

Every music icon has that one moment where everything changes with a song that takes them from a struggling artist to a household name.

For Linda Ronstadt, that turning point came in 1967 with a song that captured the spirit of a new generation of folk-rock fans. Her voice was pure power, turning a simple breakup song into an unforgettable hit that launched her legendary career.

Yet behind the scenes of the song "Different Drum" was a surprise twist nobody saw coming. Before Ronstadt turned it into pure gold, the track was completely passed over by the producers of a famous music group, who thought it was a total flop.

Ronstadt shared her introduction into the music business with The Wall Street Journal. She explained, "I began singing folk locally on my own, sometimes backed by my cousin on guitar. A big break came in 1964, when childhood friend Bobby Kimmel asked me to join him in Los Angeles. Then Kenny Edwards joined, and we became the Stone Poneys."

It was during her time as a vocalist with the Stone Poneys that Ronstadt first heard a song by the folk band Greenbriar Boys. The tune, "Different Drum," was written by Mike Nesmith, recorded in 1966, and included on the band's album Better Late Than Never.

Far Out Magazine quoted Ronstadt discussing "Different Drum" from the 2016 book Anatomy of a Song. She said, "Today I will break my finger trying to get that record off when it’s on. Everyone hears something in that song – a breakup, the antiwar movement, women’s lib. I hear a fear and a lack of confidence on my part.”

In an interview with NPR, Ronstadt added, "I thought it was a hit. But I wanted to record it in a folky way. So we recorded it with a guitar and a mandolin. And of course, you know, the record company didn't like it." Producers ultimately changed the tune to a more folk-heavy version, unlike the song she initially fell in love with.

However, before the Stone Poneys recorded "Different Drum," the song was first pitched to the producers of The Monkees television series by Nesmith. It was rejected.

The Monkees Producers Don Kirshner, Tommy Boyce, and Bobby Hart relied heavily on legendary songwriters such as Carole King, Gerry Goffin, Neil Diamond, Barry Mann, and Cynthia Weil to create The Monkees' sound. Therefore, the record label prioritized guaranteed chart-topping hits over internal band compositions, leaving Nesmith’s country-folk songwriting style sidelined, which is why a track like "Different Drum" ended up in the reject pile.

Songfacts shared a 1971 quote from Nesmith in which he shared further insight into the song's history. "Most of the songs I did write, they didn't want, so on the last few albums I didn't contribute much in the way of material. I took them 'Different Drum,' and they said all it needed was a hook. They asked me to change it and told me it was a stiff."

However, he changed his tune after hearing Ronstadt's version. Nesmith told Rebeat Magazine, "I sang 'Different Drum' for John Herald of the Greenbriar Boys like that. He took it home and turned it into the ballad that it became. Linda heard the ballad and made us all rich."

Mike Nesmith later recorded his own version of the song in 1972 on a solo album called And The Hits Just Keep On Comin'. "Different Drum" was eventually featured in a Monkees episode, "Too Many Girls."

Linda Ronstadt's version with the Stone Poneys reached No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 in January 1968.
