Holly Hunter, the beloved actress who rose to fame throughout the 90s, turns 68 on Friday.

Over the course of her career, she has become known for her intense, emotionally rich performances across film and television, and she has plenty of prestigious awards to prove it.

One of her most defining roles came in The Piano, where she delivered a powerful performance as a mute woman navigating love and survival in 19th-century New Zealand. The role earned her the Academy Award for Best Actress, cementing her status as one of Hollywood’s most respected talents.

"There’s an agent named Tracey Jacobs whom I liked a lot, but who wasn’t my agent. I was sitting next to her at Sundance and she says, 'Listen, I just read one of the greatest scripts I’ve ever read in my career. You should read it,'" said Hunter, recounting the journey that led to her Oscar-winning performance to Vulture.

"And it was the greatest script I’d ever read. The way Jane writes is so visual and visceral, you can feel the movie. I knew I wanted to work with her, so I got together with a dialect coach to teach me a Scottish dialect. The character of Ada was mute and obviously didn’t speak in the movie, but I memorized her bookend monologues. I also put together a piano tape because I could already play fairly well, and then I met Jane."

Hunter has also found major success on television, earning two Primetime Emmy Awards over the years. She won her first Emmy for the 1989 TV film Roe vs. Wade, in which she portrayed the real-life figure at the center of the landmark legal case. Years later, she earned another Emmy for her role in The Positively True Adventures of the Alleged Texas Cheerleader-Murdering Mom.

Born in Georgia, Hunter studied drama at Carnegie Mellon University before launching her acting career in New York. She quickly gained attention for her work in film throughout the 1980s and '90s, starring in critically acclaimed projects such as Broadcast News and The Firm.

Known for her distinctive voice and commanding screen presence, Hunter has remained a steady force in Hollywood for decades, taking on roles that challenge both herself and audiences. In 2003, Hunter made a splash yet again with her performance in the haunting and painfully honest film, Thirteen, directed by Catherine Hardwicke and co-written by then fourteen year-old Nikki Reed. It was the script that first captured Hunter's attention.

"When I act I think a lot, I think an awful lot before I show up on the set and I try to obey my own impulses when the cameras are rolling," Hunter told Phase9 in 2003. "I think that the script does the same. It is very impulsive and it is not judgmental. It is an uncensored version of itself."

As Holly Hunter turns 68, her legacy as an Oscar-winning actress and two-time Emmy winner continues to reflect a career built on fearless, unforgettable performances.

Robert Pattinson is doing the hard work of promoting his next film, The Drama, also starring Zendaya, on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. But before that happened, Kimmel had a bone to pick with Pattinson: unravelling all the lies he had been telling him for two decades.

And Kimmel wasn’t letting it go. Armed with a list and a very satisfied grin, he fired the question rapidly.

“I think you were like 22 or something the first time you did the show that turned out later to be patently false,” Kimmel said, setting the tone for the evening.

First up — living under a Venice archway beneath trash can lids. "No!" Pattinson fired back, laughing. "There was an archway in my house."

"The only piece of furniture you had was an inflatable pool raft," Kimmel continued. "That's 100% true," he said, completely unbothered. “Two separate houses,”

Then came the question of owning a thousand suits. "Could be," Pattinson mused, recalling a failed attempt to offload them on The RealReal. "Didn't add up to much."

“A Craigslist car purchase after Twilight?” That’s what Kimmel went for next. "That's true — it was before Twilight, though," he clarified.

Then Kimmel dropped the strangest one. "You claimed you have extraordinarily heavy saliva." Pattinson didn't even flinch. "I think it might be true. Like, I think like, I think it might have gotten lighter. It's got a little bit lighter as I got older."

The best catch of the evening, however, was the hand modelling claim — busted by Pattinson's own mother, who happened to be in the audience that night. “You claimed that you did hand modelling as a kid,” Kim said.

 Pattinson couldn’t bring himself to answer, just smiled and delivered the response, "It's a good story though." Kimmel could only agree. "It is a good story."

 Pattinson’s reputation as a pathological liar began early in his career. He has infamously admitted to the habit on numerous occasions to several co-stars, including Zendaya.

Directed by Kristoffer Borgli, The Drama hits theaters April 3rd.

In late 1976, “Car Wash” soared up the music charts. The song by the funk/R&B band Rose Royce was released in September 1976 and hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 on Jan 29, 1977.

The hit song, written by former Motown producer Norman Whitfield, appeared on Rose Royce’s debut album, which also happened to be the soundtrack to Joel Schumacher’s big-screen movie of the same name.

“Car Wash” set the vibe for the movie. In fact, if it weren’t for the disco hit, the movie may never have seen the light of day—at least not that fall.

Rose Royce was a supersized group formed in Los Angeles. The band featured Gwen Dickey (vocals), Kenji Brown (guitar, lead vocals), Kenny Copeland (trumpet, lead vocals), "Duke" Jobe (bass), Michael Moore (saxophone), Freddie Dunn (trumpet), Victor Nix (keyboards), Henry Garner (drums), and Terry Santiel (congas). They were signed to Whitfield’s label, and he thought they’d be perfect to record the soundtrack song “Car Wash.”

In an interview with The Guardian, Dickey recalled Whitfield telling the group he had a deal for a comedy film called Car Wash. The songwriter and producer wrote the lyrics to the future hit on a fast-food chicken bucket. He promised Dickey, “You won’t be laughing when this is a big hit!”

But Dickey expressed doubts about the song. “This will never be a hit, we told each other – we are literally singing about a car wash!” she recalled saying to her Rose Royce bandmates.

Producers were initially concerned about Rose Royce recording the Car Wash soundtrack.

“There was a big hoo-hah about that because MCA didn’t want an unknown group to do the music for a big budget film that was ‘Car Wash’ so Norman said, 'If you want me to do it I’m going to use this band,'" Dickey said in an interview with Soul & Jazz & Funk. “We used to go on the set every day because Norman had to go and see what was happening and then go home and write the music."

In The Guardian interview, Dickey revealed that the song ultimately helped “sell” the movie, which starred Richard Pryor, Franklyn Ajaye, Garrett Morris, and more.

“We recently learned that the movie was put on hold at first because Universal were unsure how to market a Black film, but the song sold the film,” she said.

Car Wash struck gold at the dawn of the disco era

Rose Royce’s music helped the film about a day at the Dee-Luxe car wash tie its story together. In a 1976 review, movie critic Roger Ebert wrote that the film Car Wash was “held together by the music, which is nearly wall-to-wall, and by the picture’s tremendous sense of life.”

“It’s one thing to have an idea like this — a zany, sometimes serious day in the life of a car wash — and another thing to make it work,” the legendary film reviewer wrote. “But the screenplay and the direction juggle the characters so adroitly, this is almost a wash-and-wax MASH.”

Dickey noted that at a screening for the movie, the soundtrack song had the crowd dancing.

“The song opens the film, and at the premiere the whole audience were up on their feet as it played,” she shared of Car Wash. “The producer was really upset, going: ‘Sit down! Sit down and watch the film!’ The song was a huge hit, and the film became iconic of the disco era.”

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Taylor Frankie Paulhas responded to a TikTok creator who shared her story of domestic violence, amid ongoing allegations and discourse surrounding Paul's relationship with her ex, Dakota Mortensen.

In the video, posted by drrenalina, the speaker describes situations in which her ex would allegedly pick her up by the throat and drag her from room to room and then, when she began to react or respond, start recording her.

The TikToker explained, "As soon as he would put me down from having me picked up by my throat, I would be outraged. I was so helpless two seconds ago; there was nothing I could do, and it was almost as if a defensive mechanism kicked in. I would start picking things up and start throwing them, and that's when he would take out his phone and start recording."

The creator went on to directly link this to the recently released video of a 2023 altercation between Paul and Mortensen, in which Paul can be seen throwing chairs. "So, when I'm watching the Taylor Frankie Paul video, all I keep hearing is her saying, 'You threw me. You threw me,'" the creator said.

Paul left a comment under the video, which reads, "Girl I’m so sorry ❤️‍🩹 breaks my heart."

Paul's comment on TikTok comes amid a statement from her team indicating that she is preparing to share her story. PerUs Weekly, the statement reads: "After years of silently suffering extensive mental and physical abuse as well as threats of retaliation, Taylor is finally gaining the strength to face her accuser and taking steps to ensure that she and her children are protected from any further harm."

The statement continued, "There are too many women who are suffering in silence as they survive aggressive, jealous ex-partners who refuse to let them move on with their lives. Taylor has remained silent out of fear of further abuse, retaliation, and public shaming. She is currently exploring all of her options, seeking support, and preparing to own and share her story."

In light of the recently released video, Paul's upcoming season of The Bachelorettewas also cancelled by ABC.

Did a Label Really Say They Wouldn't Sign Her Because She Was 'Too Fat'?

While Messina has built a thriving career for herself, she recently shared during an appearance on The Bobby Bones Show that a music label once told her they wouldn't sign her because she wasn't skinny enough to be a star.

"They said I was too fat," Messina revealed during the interview. "They told my producer that, 'Oh, if she was 10 pounds lighter, we would have signed her,' is what they said... And I was devastated."

However, it was the advice of her older sister that encouraged her to keep fighting for a place in the music industry.

"I said, 'I did this showcase and I didn't get the record deal. They passed.' And she's like, 'Yes!' I was like, 'What do you mean, yes?'" Messina recalled. "She's like, 'Oh, they say you have to get passed on a thousand times before you get a deal... Now you only have 999 left.'"

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives cast is finally addressing the controversy surrounding Taylor Frankie Paul.

On Monday, Mar. 16, it was reported that season 5 of the hit reality show had paused filming due to an ongoing domestic violence investigation involving Paul and her ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen.

Adding to the controversy, on Thursday, Mar. 19, ABC pulled the plug on Paul's season of The Bachelorette after TMZ released a never-before-seen video that appears to show Paul assaulting Mortensen in 2023.

Though the cast of Mormon Wives has mostly remained quiet, cast members began posting statements to their Instagram Stories on Friday, Mar. 20.

"I've honestly been a little at a loss for words trying to process this all. Everything has been really heavy to see," Miranda McWhorterwrote. "Domestic violence and abuse of any kind is something I take very seriously. As a human, and especially a mother, I cannot support that kind of behavior. My heart is with the children in this and I hope they're safe, supported, and surrounded by love."

"My personal history as a survivor makes it impossible for me to stay silent," Layla Taylor added. "I stand firmly against domestic violence in any form. I am keeping her children in my thoughts, hoping for their safety above all else."

A spokesperson for the Draper City Police Department confirmed earlier this week that there is an open “domestic assault investigation” regarding Paul and Mortensen.

The spokesperson confirmed “allegations have been made in both directions” and “contact was made with involved parties on [Feb] 24th and 25th,” but declined to share any further details.

TMZ also spoke to sources connected to both Paul and Mortensen, who offered conflicting stories regarding the recent alleged domestic violence incident. Both parties have since issued statements accusing the other of abuse.

How did Chuck Norris become famous?

Those kicks didn't come from nowhere!

Norris was born Carlos Ray Norris in Ryan, Oklahoma. He was the oldest of three brothers, all of whom his mother raised in Prairie Village, Kans., then Torrance, Calif., after their parents divorced. Norris has said he was an introverted and unathletic child and was often embarrassed at his family's poverty and his father's drinking.

He enlisted in the Air Force in 1958, where he first began martial arts training, studying Tang Soo Do (tangsudo). When he was honorably discharged in 1962, he opened his own martial arts studio in Torrance and began competing in martial arts tournaments, including the International Karate Championships.

He finally won the International Karate Championship in 1967 after losing in prior years. He kept competing and earning more titles while running his own chain of karate studios, counting stars like action star Steve McQueen, Marie and Donny Osmond and Bob Barker (uh, yikes!) among his trainees. He later went on to found Chun Kuk Do, later called the Chuck Norris System, which combined elements of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Judo, Korean Tang Soo Do, Kenpo, Taekwondo and various forms of karate.

Norris, who retired from the All-American Karate Championship undefeated, met Bruce Lee when he was still competing, and the pair became friends. He made his film debut in the 1968 film The Wrecking Crew, and four years later, starred alongside Lee in Way of the Dragon (Return of the Dragon), which made him a star.

McQueen took note of Norris' star power and encouraged him to continue acting. Norris took classes at MGM Studios, and in 1977, he had his first lead role in Breaker! Breaker!, followed by his passion project, Good Guys Wear Black (his first with his iconic cowboy hat) in 1978.

He penned a column endorsing intelligent design (creationism) and teaching the Bible in public schools, supported the 2008 California Proposition 8 ban on same-sex marriage, challenged the validity of Barack Obama'sbirth certificate, stoked fear of Sharia law being introduced in the United States and had an endorsement deal with Glock firearms in 2019.

He described himself as a fan of Ronald Reagan, became chummy with and endorsed Israeli president Benjamin Netanyahu (currently wanted by the International Criminal Court on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity) in two elections, endorsed Mike Huckabee president in the 2008 Republican primaries and championed Ted Cruz in 2016.

Norris played himself in Dodgeball in 2004, and in 2005, Norris first became Internet famous for "Chuck Norris facts" that poked fun at his martial arts prowess and seeming invincibility (though it must be noted that a lot of these jokes were actually lifted from humble and hilarious comedian Judah Friedlander and his onstage persona, The World Champion). Norris went on to release an official book of Chuck Norris facts in 2008.

In 2010, Norris became a columnist for Creators Syndicate, and in 2012 starred in The Expendables 2.

His most recent screen appearances were 2019's Chuck Norris' Epic Guide to Military Vehicles on the History Channel and the 2020 series finale of Hawaii Five-O.

As his 63rd birthday nears, Marc Jacobs remains ever-present in the fashion space — and now, in the world of cinema.

Back in 1992, he met Sofia Coppola, the Academy Award-winning filmmaker behind Lost in Translation, Marie Antoinette and other hits. She recently turned to the documentary space for her latest project — to spotlight Jacobs' storied career.

"It’s a tricky thing, talking about the past," Jacobs, 62, told Vanity Fair in an interview article published Friday, March 20. "I know about it, and there were some really beautiful moments and some memories that I hope I hang on to forever, but then you don’t want to get bogged down by it."

"It was fun because it had a kind of looseness to kind of find my way, sort of like making a collage,” Coppola, 54, told the magazine about making her documentary. "I didn’t want to make a conventional TV documentary, with the talking heads. That felt academic. I wanted it to capture Marc’s work and his personality."

American Airlines has received official clearance from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to restart nonstop commercial flights between Miami, Florida, and Venezuela—a route that has been dormant since 2019. The approval marks the first time a U.S. carrier will operate scheduled passenger service to Venezuela since American suspended operations amid safety and regulatory concerns seven years ago.

The decision follows a broader shift in diplomatic and aviation policy between the United States and Venezuela. In early 2026, the U.S. government withdrew previous airspace restrictions on flights to Venezuelan cities after more than half a decade of suspended service, reopening the door for international carriers to reconnect the two countries by air.

Under the clearance, American (with the help of its regional subsidiary Envoy Air) is preparing daily, nonstop service linking Miami International Airport to key Venezuelan destinations, including Caracas' Simón Bolívar International Airport and Maracaibo's La Chinita International Airport. Although exact launch dates and flight schedules have not been finalized, the carrier has confirmed its intent to operate these routes once all remaining regulatory and security checks are completed.

Miami has historically been a major gateway for business, family visits, and tourism between the two nations, especially for the Venezuelan diaspora in South Florida. Restoring nonstop service could reduce travel times and make it easier for communities split by geography to reconnect.

"We have a more than 30-year history connecting Venezolanos to the U.S., and we are ready to renew that incredible relationship," Nat Pieper, American's Chief Commercial Officer, said in a January press release. "By restarting service to Venezuela, American will offer customers the opportunity to reunite with families and create new business and commerce with the United States."

American Airlines first began flying to Venezuela in 1987 and, over the decades, built an extensive presence, making its exit in 2019 a significant break in regional aviation. While the U.S. State Department still urges caution for Americans considering travel to Venezuela due to ongoing safety advisories—Venezuela is considered a "Level 3: Reconsider Travel" destination—the DOT's approval signals a major step toward normalizing aviation links and revitalizing direct international travel in the Americas.

As the search for 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie continues, a former NYPD detective says one of the biggest questions in the case—why it happened—may not be as clear as it seems. In an exclusive interview with Parade, David Sarni explains that the evidence released so far has not pointed to a definitive motive, and warns that focusing too heavily on one theory could risk overlooking critical details. With no clear suspect, vehicle, or confirmed sequence of events, he says investigators must remain open-minded as the case continues to unfold.

"This case sadly has little evidence to go on (based on information released to the press). Each piece of evidence obtained as of this date does not clarify a reason. Here is what we have so far," Sarni begins, before listing off the information we've been told by authorities.

"An unknown masked male wearing gloves and carrying a backpack was seen on the night of the abduction in front of Nancy’s home. No vehicle ties him to her abduction. The blood evidence on scene belongs to Nancy. The remaining DNA and trace evidence retrieved from the home has not been shown to be probative," Sarni says.

"The blood evidence found in front of the home in itself doesn’t say there was a violent struggle; unless what was photographed and or video taped inside the crime scene shows otherwise," he continues, adding, "None of the ‘ransom’ notes tie to any particular person as no proof of life was part of any of them submitted. Video evidence so far hasn’t tied Nancy to the subject(s), a location, a direction of flight much less a positively identified vehicle."

There's been a lot of curiosity about why someone would kidnap Guthrie, but as many people assume it had to do with money, Sarni warns that the reasons won't come until later on. He warns that investigators should remain open-minded when it comes to the case because honing in on a motive could cause something to be missed.

"When an investigator locks into a motive for a crime, it can bias information received or evidence obtained in a long term investigation such as this. Therefore, if any new evidence comes and doesn’t fit that established motive, it may get disregarded, put aside, or even ignored. An investigator needs to be as open minded as the case unfolds," Sarni explains.

"The 'why' comes from the result of the investigation or from the perpetrator’s mouth or mouths. As Shakespeare said, and I am paraphrasing, 'the truth will out,'" he adds.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has clearly stated that authorities believe that Guthrie was targeted, which he's maintained since the early days of the case.

"We believe we know why he did this, and we believe that it was targeted, but we, we can't, we're not 100% sure of that," he told NBC News in an interview published on March 12.

As for Sarni, he's not ready to jump to any conclusions when it comes to the motive.

"The detectives still are unable to tie the evidence to the cause of Nancy’s abduction. I haven’t changed my opinion on a motive because I let facts obtained determine it. I don’t have a motive because of that," he says.

Loretta Young established herself as a leading figure in the entertainment industry at the height of Hollywood’s golden age.

From rising to prominence during her cinematic peak in the late 1940s to finding renewed success on television, the Utah native received one of her most memorable recognitions on this day.

On March 20, 78 years ago today, Young, whose real name was Gretchen Michaela Young, made Hollywood history after winning her first and only Academy Award.

During the 20th Academy Awards, she took home the title for Best Actress for her iconic role in the 1947 film The Farmer's Daughter.

In her touching acceptance speech, she admitted that winning an Oscars had always felt like a “spectator sport” to her, something she never thought she’d be part of as a winner.

“But in all honesty, I suppose I couldn't expect to be more elated than I was when I heard I was nominated, because I had seen and I knew the beautiful jobs done by the other four nominees,” she said, adding “For my part, I am thankful to have been in a picture that made so many people think fondly and possessively of their country, and of our industry that can give them those thoughts.”

Actor Jonathan Frakes revealed that his son, Jameson, now 31, didn't like visiting him on the set of the 1996Star Trek movie, Star Trek: First Contact, which he starred in and directed.

In a March 2026 episode of their podcast, Dropping Names, Frakes and his Star Trek: The Next Generation co-star Brent Spiner spoke about their now-adult children's reactions to their respective roles as William T. Riker and Data in the Star Trek franchise.

While recording the podcast episode, Spiner told their guest Seth MacFarlane that his son has deemed his American Dad character, Roger, to be the "greatest character in all of fiction." The Family Guy creator responded by suggesting that Spiner's son should be more impressed by Data.

"His dad's f--king Data and he's saying Roger is, that's insane," said MacFarlane.

Spiner then explained that his son hasn't seen Star Trek: TNG, which had a seven-season run until 1994.

Frakes interjected that his son, whom he shares with his wife, Genie Francis, finally saw Star Trek: First Contact when he was in college.

"He wrote to me or called me from college. He said 'My roommate took me to see First Contact. Pretty good movie dad,'" recalled Frakes with a laugh.

When MacFarlane asked if his son had visited him on the film's set, Frakes explained Jameson was uncomfortable because he was afraid of the villainous Borgs, stating, "He was scared s--tles."

"He was scared of the Borg. Terrified," said Frakes.

Jonathan Frakes Shared Details About Auditioning for Riker

In a 2024 interview with actress Katee Sackhoff, Frakes revealed that he didn't realize his life would be so affected by playing a Star Trek character. He explained that he hadn't watched the original Star Trek series, which ran for three seasons until 1969, so he was unaware of the franchise's massive fandom.

He also said Star Trek fans weren't happy about Star Trek: The Next Generation, the second live-action television show in the franchise, when it premiered in 1987. According to Frakes, there were complaints about Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart), the Klingon Worf (Michael Dorn), and Geordi La Forge (LeVar Burton). In addition, Star Trek fans missed the original cast, which included Leonard Nimoy, William Shatner, and DeForest Kelley.

"They didn't receive us as well as they did the original show. Because they didn't want a bald English Captain with a French name. And they didn't want a Klingon on the bridge or they didn't want a blind pilot. And they wanted Kirk and Spock and Bones and it took us two or three seasons to win," said Frakes during the interview.

He said, however, that fans eventually came around and he's "still doing conventions" because of the popularity of his Star Trek character.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star began her Hulu show getting arrested for an altercation with  Dakota Mortensen, who fathered her son. She is under investigation for allegedly getting violent again with him in Utah after filming the dating show.

A temporary host of The Bachelor isn't buying that production was shocked by the 2023 video of Paul, 31, throwing a chair at Mortensen, 33.

Chris Harrison was fired from hosting the show in 2021. Emmanuel Acho stepped in to host the reunion of The Bachelor Season 25 reunion.

"I got a call saying, 'Hey, we are interested in you hosting The Bachelor'" Acho said on the Speakeasy Talk Show. Casting producers considered him, Michael Strahan, and Tyra Banks. "But before they asked me to end up hosting it severe background check, after background check, after background check," the former football player said.

"Not only did they do that they give me a whole booklet in order to host just this one episode and debrief me on all of that," Acho, 35, continued. They also gave him DVDs of the packages for every star that season so he was prepared to interview the contestants.

"The franchise knew everything you needed to know about this woman, and they turned a blind eye," he claimed. "And that is what to me is disgusting."

Acho believes the video being released is what made them pull the season. Paul wasn't previously a contestant on The Bachelor like other Bachelorette stars. However, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is on Hulu, which is under the same company as ABC. The reality show has covered Paul and Mortensen's on-and-off again relationship throughout the seasons.

The men on Taylor Frankie Paul's season of The Bachelorette are speaking out.

Paul’s season was scheduled to premiere on Sunday, Mar. 22. On Thursday, Mar. 19, ABC pulled the plug on her season after TMZ released a never-before-seen video that appears to show Paul assaulting her ex-boyfriendDakota Mortensen in 2023.

In a statement to TMZ, a Disney Entertainment spokesperson said, “In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of The Bachelorette at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family.”

With the exception of The Men Tell All and After the Final Rose reunion specials, the entirety of Paul's season had been filmed prior to the cancellation.

Since the news broke, some of the contestants have taken to social media to react to the unprecedented move by the network.

Ryan Gosling has been a force to be reckoned with, and his performances are a testament to his greatness.  Over the years, he has built a career that moves effortlessly between intense drama and mainstream blockbusters, never losing the emotional depth that defines his work. However, if there’s one genre he has never tapped into, it’s the superhero genre, but his recent comments seem to indicate that he might soon join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The actor has finally addressed long-running rumors about joining Marvel. And this time, it’s not just fan speculation; there’s something real behind it.

Appearing on the recent episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast while promoting his latest film, Project Hail Mary, Gosling revealed that there have indeed been talks with Marvel about a potential role. While he didn’t confirm anything official, he didn’t deny it either. Instead, he described the situation as “complicated,” hinting that discussions have happened but nothing has been locked in yet.

"Some discussions have been had. It’s a complicated situation," Gosling said. "We keep hope alive."

For years now, fans have linked Gosling with Ghost Rider, a darker, more supernatural character within Marvel’s world. Interestingly, this isn’t just a fan-driven idea. Gosling himself has openly said in the past that Ghost Rider is the one superhero he would love to play. That personal interest seems to have played a big role in getting Marvel’s attention.

What makes this even more exciting is that Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has previously expressed admiration for Gosling and even said he would be open to finding a place for him in the MCU. That kind of mutual interest is rare, and often the first step toward something bigger.

Still, nothing is confirmed yet. Gosling’s choice of words suggests that while both sides are interested, there are likely scheduling, creative, or long-term planning challenges involved. The MCU is currently in a phase where it is expanding into darker and more supernatural storytelling, which makes a character like Ghost Rider a natural fit. But fitting a major star like Gosling into that puzzle is easier said than done.

It’s also worth noting that Ghost Rider has had a mixed history on screen. Nicolas Cage previously played the character in two films, while a different version appeared on television through Gabriel Luna. Bringing the character properly into the MCU with a fresh face, and possibly a big star, could be Marvel’s way of giving the antihero a stronger, more grounded comeback.

For now, fans are left in that familiar space between hope and uncertainty. Gosling hasn’t signed anything, Marvel hasn’t announced anything, but the door is clearly open. And sometimes, that’s all it takes for something big to eventually happen.

If this casting does come through, it could mark one of the most interesting additions to the MCU in recent years, one that blends star power with a character fans have been waiting to see done right.

Amid the iconic musicians to come out of the '60s, The Monkees rose as one of the most succesful pop rock bands of the time period. Believe it or not, the band was created by TV producers as the main stars for a sitcom that would go on to become an Emmy-winning hit.

In the early '60s, aspiring filmmakers Bob Rafelson and Bert Schneider started their own production company and soon became inspired by A Hard Day's Night by The Beatles. They shopped around an idea of a fictional rock and roll group being the center focus of a TV series. By 1965, they put out an ad looking for musicians who could also be actors.

They soon formed the band/cast consisting of Micky Dolenz, Davy Jones, Michael Nesmith, and Peter Tork. The cast would end up starring in the NBC sitcom The Monkees, which also became the band's real-life name.

NBC soon premiered the sitcom in September 1966 and created a wave of innovative filming for TV, with the creators wanting the series to have improvisation, quick cuts, jump cuts, breaking the fourth wall, and free-flowing, loose narratives. It also included musical segments that had nothing to do with the episode's storyline and served as music videos. The Monkees followed the four young men and their adventures as they tried to make a name for themselves in the rock 'n roll scene.

The sitcom's first season was a success, having won two Emmy Awards in 1967 for Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Comedy. In return, the band also reached chart-topping status with their albums The Monkees, More of the Monkees, Headquarters, and Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones Ltd. They also released three No. 1 singles titled "Last Train to Clarksville", "I'm a Believer", and "Daydream Believer".

The band's fame and the sitcom soon clashed, seeing as The Monkees were only allowed to provide and limited to lead vocals and occasional compositions for the series. Its songs were created by professional songwriters and session musicians like the Wrecking Crew. By 1967, The Monkees gained control over their recordings and were able to release their own music.

After the first season, there was fan backlash, seeing as they hadn't realized the band was created for the sitcom and didn't produce their own music. NBC decided to revamp Season 2's overall look, music style, and gave the band creative control. Sadly, the network and the band felt it was no longer working, and The Monkees was canceled in 1968.

The Monkees gained a resurgence thanks to public TV syndication, and a reboot was created in 1987 that lasted for 13 episodes. Nickelodeon's Big Time Rush was also reported to have been inspired by the sitcom.

Fired Bachelorette Taylor Frankie Paul admitted being the "aggressor" in her 2023 fight with ex Dakota Mortensen that resulted in her arrest.

According to the reality star, a neighbor called the cops, believing Paul needed help due to the screams.

"I was a different person. I went crazy. I was throwing things," she said during a November 2023 episode of the "CHEERS! with Avery" podcast.

The footage resurfaced after video was released of the physical altercation between the couple.

TMZ obtained the evidence, recorded on Mortensen's cell phone, showing Paul hurling metal barstools and allegedly striking her then-5-year-old daughter.

"I didn't know my daughter was downstairs on the couch. They're usually in their beds when I'm home. We had a babysitter, I came home, and she was on the couch," the Hulu star recalled to Avery. "I was throwing stuff. I threw a chair, like towards him, and so I was charged with child abuse because it could have hurt her."

She went on to explain that in the state of Utah, reckless child abuse is "if you throw something and it possibly did hit your kid or it hit your kid."

Paul was charged with one felony count of aggravated assault and two felony counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child, along with one misdemeanor count each of child abuse and criminal mischief.

She ultimately accepted a plea deal, pleading guilty to aggravated assault.

"I was throwing everything. I was so angry. I mean, as we all know, I was trying to attack him and I assaulted him. I took it all out on him," she explained. "There was enough evidence there that I was the aggressor. And I was. So they took me to jail."
