Christina Applegate Thinks About Death ‘Every Day’ Amid Her MS Battle: ‘It’s Looming’

Fri, 03/20/2026 - 6:13pm

Christina Applegate is not running away from the prospect of death. Instead, she’s making preparations for the eventuality.

The actress, 54, was asked how often she thinks about death during the Thursday, March 19, episode of NPR’s “Wild Card With Rachel Martin” podcast.

“Every day ‘cause it’s looming,” she replied. “I mean, it looms for all of us.”

Applegate—who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2021—elaborated on how her illness has impacted her approach toward death.

🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬

“For people who have a disease like this, you never know, you know?” she added. “I bought my [burial] plots already.”

Applegate described the undisclosed location where she will be buried as “really pretty,” noting that she purchased three plots for herself and her loved ones so they can be laid to rest together.

“I have to pick my tree out ‘cause they’re going to plant a tree there ‘cause it’s really sunny,” she shared. “And I want my visitors to not be sweating.”

As for how she came to select her burial location, Applegate said, “I’ve been thinking about this particular area of this particular place for so long. And I finally was like, ‘Is this available?’ They’re like, ‘Yes, it is.’ I was like, ‘Oh, my God, buying it now.’ Just buy it now. That way, nobody has to deal with it.”

Although Applegate is preparing for her life to end, she is still “very not comfortable” with the concept of her death because it’s “going to hurt my kid.”

“I get really scared about that. Now I’m, like, really afraid of it because of her,” she said through tears, referring to daughter Sadie, 15, whom she shares with her husband of 13 years, Martyn LeNoble. “I can’t even talk about—like, I don’t know what her life’s going to be like, and you don’t know when it’s going to be. [It] could be, like, anytime.”

In a February interview with People, Applegate revealed that she spends most of her day in bed due to the pain she experiences when she moves around. However, she insists on giving Sadie rides to school and her activities for the sake of quality time.

“I want to take her; it’s my favorite thing to do. It’s the only time we have together by ourselves,” she told the outlet. “I tell myself, ‘Just get her there safely and get home so you can get back into bed.’ And that’s what I do.”

While Applegate’s diagnosis has led her to take a step back from acting, she now hosts the “MeSsy” podcast with Jamie-Lynn Sigler, where the two share their journeys with MS. She also released her memoir, You With the Sad Eyes, earlier this month.

“My life isn’t wrapped up with a bow,” Applegate said. “People’s lives, sorry for lack of a better term, f--king suck sometimes. So I’m being as honest and raw as I possibly can.”

Beloved '90s Actress, Who Appeared in Best-Selling Film, Turns 69

Fri, 03/20/2026 - 6:12pm

There aren't many actresses who can say that their career has spanned over four decades and they have been in over 50 feature films.

Theresa Russell, who is best known for her brooding, troubling and disturbing characters, is celebrating her 69th birthday on Friday. Born in San Diego and raised in Burbank, California, she began her career as a model in the 1970s, which caught the attention of film producer Sam Spiegel, who cast her as the daughter of a prominent film executive in the film The Last Tycoon. In 1980, she starred in Nicolas Roeg's Bad Timing, which earned critical praise and was where Roeg and Russell started dating and eventually got married. The thriller marked the first of six projects the couple would collaborate on together.

The actress finally got her mainstream recognition when she played the lead serial killer in Bob Rafelson's 1987 film, Black Widow. Starring Russell, Debra Winger, Sami Frey and Nicol Williamson, the crime drama follows two women: Catherine (Russell), a troubled widow who murders wealthy men she married for money, and Alexandra Barnes (Winger), a Department of Justice agent who becomes obsessed with bringing her to justice.

After Black Widow, Russell continued to act in many of her husband's projects before moving on to indie films in the 1990s, like Wild Things and The Believer. In the 2000s, she held many supporting roles in TV shows and mini-series like Empire Falls, Fringe, Cold Case and Liz & Dick. In 2007, she played Emma Marko in the film Spider-Man 3, which made over $885 million worldwide and was the highest-grossing filmof the Tobey Maguire trilogy and held the record for the biggest opening weekend.

As Russell continued acting, she realized that she didn't want to be in stereotypical Hollywood movies and started gravitating towards arthouse and independent films.

"The Hollywood movies in those days were more the male macho lead type of movies; the actress had to show that he had a heart of gold, and she had to have sex with him. Those were the roles, and I wasn’t interested in doing that," Russell explained to Film Talk in October 2025. "I always had this vision of being an edgy and serious actress, and I wanted to do interesting things. Not the ones that made a lot of money and were more Hollywood."

Though Russell retired from on-screen acting in 2012, she is still very active in the film industry. She served as the Jury President for the 52nd Film Fest Gent in Belgium last fall and has been living a quiet life away from Hollywood.

1961 Best-Selling Classic Became a No. 1 Hit 65 Years Ago

Fri, 03/20/2026 - 5:45pm

While the '60s were full of defining artists like The Beatles,James Brown, The Supremes, and Bob Dylan, Elvis Presley continued his chart-topping streak with a 1961 hit track. The rock n' roll icon released a best-selling single that was originally created as an Italian ballad.

Published through Elvis Presley Music, "Surrender" became Presley's fifth chart-topping hit that started a two-week run on March 20, according to ThisDayinMusic. It was released on February 7 of that year, with the track "Lonely Man" serving as the B-side single. The popular song was created by songwriters Doc Pomus and Mort Shuman, who made it into an adaptation of the 1902 Neapolitan ballad "Torna a Surriento" ("Come Back to Sorrento").

According to details behind the ballad, it was composed in 1984 by Italian musician Ernesto De Curtis, with lyrics done by his brother, poet and painter Giambattista De Curtis. The original ballad has been sung by various artists over the years, like Frank Sinatra, Meat Loaf, Luciano Pavarotti, and many more.

Presley was one of the few who releases re-arranged version of the song, alongside Dean Martin, who released an adapted version by Joseph J. Lilley titled "Take Me In Your Arms" on his album Dino: Italian Love Songs.

"Surrender" peaked on the US Billboard Hot 100 charts for two straight weeks and became certified Platinum by the RIAA. It had Presley on vocals and vocal quartet The Jordanaires as backing vocals alongside Millie Kirkham. Scorry Moore, who formed Presley's Blue Moon Boys, served as the lead electric guitarist with Hank Garland on acoustic. Bob Moore played the double bass with D.J. Fontana on drums, Buddy Harman on percussion, Floyd Cramer on paino and Boots Randolph on Saxaphon.

The release of the song continued Presley's streak of chart-topping hits until The Beatles took over the title with six consecutive No. 1's between 1965 and 1966.

Lisa Kudrow Just Slammed This 'Friends' Character: 'What a Baby'

Fri, 03/20/2026 - 5:33pm

While Lisa Kudrow's Friendscharacter, Phoebe Buffay, considers Ross Geller (David Schwimmer) one of her closest friends, the actress isn't a fan of the fictional paleontologist.

In a March 20 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Kudrow referenced her recent decision to watch all of Friends, which had a 10-season run until 2004. While speaking to the publication, Kudrow was asked how she now feels about Ross' decision to have relations with Chloe (Angela Featherstone), known as the copy girl, after Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston) asked for a break from their relationship during the show's third season. Kudrow replied that while she was once "Team Ross" on the matter, she's now "Team Rachel."

"I've switched. I've made a switch. Ross was ridiculous. What a baby. You can't plan a future with that guy. That's how I feel now," shared the Comeback star in the March 2026 interview.

Lisa Kudrow Shared She's Been Delighted by Watching 'Friends' in a March 2026 Interview

During a March 2026 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Kudrow shared she hadn't seen most of Friends before she recently decided to tune into the beloved NBCsitcom. She shared that she's finished season 8 and has been delighted by the show. She explained that she is now removed enough from the comedy that she feels as if she's watching someone else during Phoebe's scenes.

"Everyone's hilarious and I'm laughing out loud," said Kudrow during theJimmy Kimmel Live interview.

Kudrow also shared that she waits until her husband of over 30 years, Michel Stern, "goes to sleep" before she watches Friends. She explained that she's "too embarrassed" to watch herself on the screen with her husband.

In addition, Kudrow joked that she has been watching Friends because she likes to tune in to "a sitcom before going to bed," and it's the only one she hasn't yet finished.

'Home Improvement' Star Hit With Additional 19-Month Jail Sentence While Already In Custody

Fri, 03/20/2026 - 5:33pm

Zachery Ty Bryan’s legal troubles are continuing to stack up.

The former Home Improvement star has been sentenced to 19 months in an Oregon jail after pleading guilty to violating his probation. According to reports from TMZ, Bryan appeared virtually in Lane County court on Friday, March 20, as he is currently incarcerated in California serving a separate 16-month sentence tied to a DUI case.

The latest sentence stems from a November arrest in Eugene, Oregon, where authorities responded to a reckless endangerment call. Police reportedly found Bryan in a pickup truck alongside his fiancée, Johnnie Faye Cartwright, and their three young children. Prosecutors alleged that Bryan violated the terms of his probation—linked to a prior domestic violence conviction—by having contact with his fiancée, which he was prohibited from doing.

Bryan ultimately pleaded guilty to the probation violation, resulting in the additional 19-month sentence. The actor is also facing a separate DUI case in Oklahoma, and authorities are expected to extradite him there at a later date.

Meanwhile, Bryan is already serving time after pleading guilty in connection to a 2024 DUI arrest. During that case, he admitted to driving under the influence and acknowledged having a blood alcohol content of 0.15 percent or higher—nearly double the legal limit. Court documents also revealed that Bryan has two prior DUI convictions, leading a judge to deny probation and sentence him to 16 months in jail.

READ MORE: ‘Home Improvement’ Star Sentenced to 1 Year in Jail

Bryan’s attorney, John Kolego, pushed back on the latest ruling, telling TMZ, “The sentence was excessive. It was ridiculous. Zachary has experienced a lot of trauma. He has an alcohol problem. Putting him in jail or prison is not going to help the situation. Poor use of resources. I’m very disappointed in the judge. Zachary attended the hearing remotely. He apologized to the court, he said he wants to be the best father he can be, acknowledged he needs help with his alcohol problem and the judge slapped him with this sentence.”

Bryan is best known for his role in Home Improvement as Brad Taylor, the oldest child of Tim and Jill, on the popular ’90s sitcom. He remained a central part of the series throughout its entire run from 1991 to 1999.

I Tried 25 Whole Foods Bakery Items—Here's What To Buy (and 3 To Skip)

Fri, 03/20/2026 - 5:14pm

As a longtime professional grocery shopper, content creator and food writer, I’m constantly at the grocery store. Scanning shelves and bakery cases looking for products that are actually worth buying, amongst scooping up items I need for my family and work. I often find myself doing this shopping at my local, Ridgewood, New Jersey, Whole Foods store. They have a reputation for doing things a little differently, which is what brings me to the store so frequently.

The bakery is one of the first places I wander when I walk into the store. It’s also one of the most tempting sections, filled with everything from fresh towering layer cakes to flaky croissants, just-baked crusty loaves of bread and rows of cookies that somehow always make their way into my cart. My kids know it well too...they’ve mastered the art of grabbing a bakery snack while we shop.

Part of what makes the Whole Foods bakery stand out is the company’s ingredient standards. According to Amy Eubanks, culinary development manager for bakery at Whole Foods Market, the brand prohibits more than 300 preservatives, artificial flavors, colors and sweeteners commonly found in food. That’s why many of the brightly colored cookies and cakes you see in the bakery case get their color from fruit and vegetable pigments rather than synthetic dyes, and why all baked goods are made with unbleached and unbromated flour...which for me, makes the bakery a no brainer when it comes to using quality ingredients.

While gathering my items for this story, the bakery associate who was helping me gather all 25 items was so kind and helpful. She knew her stuff! The company’s six-month bakery apprenticeship program gives team members hands-on mentorship and technical training so they can develop artisan baking skills...which I feel is a bit of a lost art when it comes to local bakeries.

With so many delicious options, I decided to find out which ones are truly worth buying. I picked up a wide range of 25 bakery items to taste. From breads and bagels to pastries, cookies and cakes, all to see which ones deserve a spot in your cart.

What Can You Buy at the Whole Foods Bakery?

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

The Whole Foods bakery is surprisingly expansive. Depending on your location, you’ll find everything from freshly baked breads to elaborate celebration cakes and quick grab-and-go treats.

The bread section alone covers a lot of ground. There are classic loaves like sourdough boules and French baguettes, sandwich breads, rustic batards and soft rolls perfect for soups or sandwiches.

Then there are the pastries- croissants in multiple varieties, scones, muffins and sweet breakfast treats like cinnamon rolls. Many locations also carry savory pastry options, which make great snacks or quick lunches.

The cake case is another standout. Whole Foods has built a reputation for its beautifully decorated layer cakes, slices of popular flavors like tiramisu or tres leches and smaller cakes perfect for intimate celebrations.

You’ll also find plenty of cookies, bars and individually wrapped treats like rice crispy treats and crumb cakes, along with bagels and other breakfast staples.

In other words, whether you’re picking up dessert for a dinner party, grabbing a quick breakfast pastry or looking for bread for the week, the Whole Foods bakery has something for just about every part of your day.

How I Tasted These Whole Foods Bakery Items

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

This assignment was definitely an uphill climb, but one I was more than happy to take on.

To properly taste everything, I spread the experience out over a few days. I started with the items that were best enjoyed fresh from the bakery case, like croissants, breads and pastries. From there, I moved on to items that could hold a little longer in the fridge or came prepackaged with later expiration dates.

I tasted small bites of each item and took notes on texture, flavor, freshness and overall quality. Then I shared the rest with my family and neighbors—who were more than happy to accept these leftovers.

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

This ended up being the biggest taste test I’ve ever done, but it also reminded me just how many great options the Whole Foods bakery offers. There are a lot of gems hiding in those shelves.

22 Whole Foods Bakery Items to Buy1. San Francisco Sourdough Boule

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

This sourdough bread is my absolute favorite item in the Whole Foods bakery. There isn’t a trip where this loaf doesn’t end up in my cart. I’ll sometimes have it sliced for sandwiches, or leave it whole so I can tear it into big chunks for panzanella or strata. I’ve even carved out the center and turned it into a dip bread bowl. The flavor is fantastic- tangy, chewy and deeply satisfying with that classic sourdough bite. It’s honestly the closest thing I’ve found to a true California-style sourdough here on the East Coast, and it’s consistently excellent.

2. Berry Chantilly Cake

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

This cake is iconic (and viral!) for a reason. The vanilla cake layers are light, fluffy and perfectly balanced in flavor, while the Chantilly cream is airy and delicately sweet. What really makes the cake special are the fresh berries layered between the cake and cream, which add a bright, juicy contrast that keeps the dessert from feeling heavy. It’s elegant enough for celebrations but still approachable for everyday occasions. One of my friends special ordered this cake as their wedding cake, which tells you everything you need to know about how great it is

3. Everything Croissant

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

This was one of the biggest surprises of my entire taste test. The croissant itself is beautifully shaped with crisp, flaky layers, but the real magic is inside. It’s filled with a savory vegetable and herb cream cheese that makes the whole thing feel like the ultimate bakery snack. The combination of buttery pastry and the flavorful filling is fantastic, and it’s one of those items you’ll keep an eye out for every time you walk past the bakery case.

4. Chocolate Eruption Cake

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

Whole Foods cakes already have a great reputation, but this one really impressed me. It’s deeply chocolatey with a gooey, fudgy interior and slightly crisp chocolate edges that add great texture. The chocolate flavor tastes rich and high quality without being overly sweet. I love that this five-inch cake exists because it’s perfect for a four or five person celebration without committing to a huge cake. It’s decadent while still being not over the top.

5. Carrot Cake

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

Carrot cake is a hard one to nail, but Whole Foods did a great job with this recipe. The cake itself is moist and full of warm spice flavor, and the frosting strikes a great balance between tangy and sweet. I especially appreciate that the bakery offers smaller versions of the cake, which makes it easy to grab for a casual dessert at home. If you’re a carrot cake fan like I am, this one is a reliable classic.

6. Blueberry Muffin

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

This blueberry muffin checks nearly all my boxes. It’s moist but still structured enough to hold its shape when you bite into it, which is something I really appreciate in a muffin. The blueberries are nicely distributed throughout, and the brown sugar topping adds the right amount of sweetness and texture. It’s the kind of muffin that works just as well for breakfast as it does for an afternoon coffee break.

7. Knotted Potato Roll

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

This roll completely surprised me in the best way. The texture is fantastic. It's soft and slightly rich with a structure that reminds me of something between a kaiser roll and challah. The knotted shape makes it visually fun, and the flavor is mild and versatile. It would be perfect for sandwiches, serving alongside soup or even setting out on a dinner table with butter.

8. Fresh Berry Tart

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

This tart strikes a really nice balance between flavors and textures. The almond filling, berries, and buttery crust all work together beautifully without one element overpowering the others. It’s also very nicely presented, which makes it feel a little more special than your typical grocery store dessert. I could easily see bringing this to a dinner party or serving it at a small gathering. I grabbed the small one for tasting purposes, but the larger version would be a great grab if you needed a dessert to bring to a dinner party or holiday.

9. Chocolate Croissant

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

The chocolate croissant delivers the classic sweet and savory experience you want. The pastry layers are flaky and buttery, and the chocolate inside is good-quality dark chocolate that isn’t overly sweet. I personally wouldn’t mind a little more chocolate filling, but what’s there is rich and satisfying. It’s a very solid option if you’re craving a classic pastry.

10. Butter Croissant

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

Whole Foods croissants are one of my go-to bakery items, especially when I’m shopping with my kids, who demand a snack as I walk the aisles. Four croissants for around $7.50 is a great value compared to many local bakeries. They’re nicely flaky with a buttery flavor that really comes through. They also benefit from a quick few seconds in the oven, which brings them right back to life.

11. Blueberry Scone

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

Eubanks listed this as one of the Whole Foods bakery's best sellers and I can understand why. This scone has exactly the texture I look for. It’s slightly crumbly and dry in the way a proper scone should be, but still moist enough to feel tender when you bite into it. The blueberry marbling throughout the dough is spot on, and the flavor feels balanced rather than overly sweet. Warming it up a bit really elevates the experience.

12. Tres Leches Cake Slice

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

Tres leches cake can be tricky, but this version hits the mark. The cake is fully soaked in the sweet milk mixture, making it incredibly soft and moist without becoming soggy. The frosting on top is light and balanced, and the packaging even includes a little extra leche to keep everything deliciously saturated.

13. Tiramisu Cake Slice

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

This slice captures the classic tiramisu flavors really well. The ladyfingers are soaked with a strong, pleasant coffee flavor, while the creamy layers keep everything smooth and rich. The cocoa topping adds a nice bittersweet contrast that balances the sweetness. It’s a great grab-and-go dessert when you want something indulgent without buying a full cake.

14. Brown Butter Chocolate Chunk Cookie

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

This cookie was a pleasant surprise. It’s loaded with large chocolate chunks, which makes every bite feel extra indulgent. The brown butter flavor is noticeable and adds a warm, nutty richness that makes the cookie stand out from a standard chocolate chip cookie.

15. Chocolate Chip Mini Cookies

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

These are a great go-to grab if you need something quick. They’re perfect for last-minute class treats, lunchbox additions or casual desserts. The cookies themselves are chewy, buttery and well balanced with just the right amount of chocolate.

16. Mini Cinnamon Crumb Cake (Boston Baking)

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

I really enjoyed this pastry. The cake is soft and moist with warm cinnamon flavor, and the individual packaging makes it easy to grab with coffee or enjoy on the go. I might call it more of a coffee cake than a crumb cake, given the topping is light versus dense, but the cake itself is light and flavorful.

17. The Cookie Bar

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

The cookie bar at Whole Foods is always one of the most fun sections of the bakery. The flavors rotate seasonally, and I love that Whole Foods avoids artificial food dyes in their decorated cookies. There are always playful shapes and flavors available, which makes it a great stop when you’re shopping with kids. These flower and bunny cookies will for sure be in my kid's Easter baskets!

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

18. French Baguette

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

This baguette is exactly what you want from a grocery store version. It has a crisp, crunchy crust and a soft, chewy interior with just the right hint of salt. At around $2.99, it’s also an excellent value. It’s perfect for serving alongside pasta or slicing up for sandwiches. Amy mentioned this was on the list for most popular bakery items, and I know why.

19. Plain Bagel

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

Living in New Jersey makes judging bagels tough because the standards are so high. That said, these are perfectly decent bagels for a grocery store bakery. They’re simple, satisfying and convenient when you need breakfast in a pinch.

20. Everything Bagel

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

The seasoning on this bagel is well balanced and generously distributed across the top. While it may not compete with a dedicated bagel shop, it still delivers good flavor and works well for a quick breakfast or sandwich. A staple in my kid's lunch boxes.

21. Angel Bakeries Pita Bread

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

This pita bread absolutely lives up to its name. The texture is incredibly soft and almost cloud-like, making it perfect for dipping, stuffing or serving on grazing boards. It was my first time trying it, but it definitely won’t be my last.

22. Cinnamon Roll

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

Like a few others on the list, this cinnamon roll is a great example of a bakery item that really benefits from a quick reheat. I popped it in the microwave for about 30 seconds and it completely transformed the experience. The roll became soft, warm and incredibly moist, and the cinnamon flavor really came through. The frosting is nicely balanced and melts slightly into the roll when warmed, which makes every bite extra delicious.

3 Whole Foods Bakery Items to SkipAlmond Croissant

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

This was the least impressive of the three croissants I tried from the Whole Foods bakery. Compared to the classic butter croissant and the everything croissant, the texture here felt noticeably more dense and less flaky. An almond croissant should have a rich, nutty flavor that really stands out, but the almond notes in this one were pretty subtle and didn’t deliver the bold marzipan-like flavor you expect from this pastry. It’s not bad, but when there are stronger croissant options in the same bakery case, this one just doesn’t rise to the top.

Buttermilk Biscuit

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

These biscuits didn’t quite deliver the light, fluffy texture you hope for in a great biscuit. They were fairly dense and flat, and although you could see the layers, they didn’t pull apart the way a properly laminated biscuit should. I even gave one a quick reheat to see if warming it up would help revive it, but the texture still felt heavy rather than tender and airy. When you’re craving a biscuit, you want something buttery and easy to break apart, and this one unfortunately falls short of that classic biscuit experience.

Forbidden Rice Sourdough

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

This loaf is certainly unique, but it ultimately wasn’t for me. The flavor is extremely earthy and quite sour, which some people may enjoy, especially if they like bold whole-grain breads. I did appreciate the sesame seeds on the exterior and the interesting flavor profile, but the intensity of the bread makes it difficult to use in everyday situations like sandwiches or toast. The strong flavor tends to overpower whatever you pair it with, which limits its versatility. For a loaf of bread, I prefer something a little more balanced.

After four days of tasting, sampling and sharing with family and neighbors, I walked away even more impressed with the Whole Foods bakery. There’s a reason so many people make a beeline for that section of the store. Whether you’re looking for a loaf of bread, a last-minute dessert or a treat to snack on while you shop, there are plenty of gems worth adding to your cart, especially if you know which ones stand out.

Joseph Duggar's Wife Kendra Arrested on Child Endangerment Charges

Fri, 03/20/2026 - 5:09pm

Kendra Duggar has been arrested on child endangerment charges.

On Friday, Mar. 20, police in Tontitown, Arkansas confirmed via a press release that they’ve filed new charges against Kendra's husband Joseph Duggar.

Joseph, 31, was previously arrested and charged for Lewd and Lascivious Behavior, involving unlawful sexual activity with a minor on Wednesday, Mar. 18.

The new charges in Arkansas—unrelated to the previous charges, which were filed in Florida—are four counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, as well as four counts of second-degree false imprisonment.

Police later confirmed that Kendra, 27, is facing the same charges as her husband related to the Arkansas case.

Authorities arrived at the Duggar family compound around 1 p.m. on Mar. 20 to serve an arrest warrant for Kendra, however, she was not at home at the time, per local outlet KNWA/FOX24.

According to the sheriff's office, Kendra later was arrested and booked into the Washington County Detention Center in Fayetteville, Ark., at 4:56 p.m. local time. She was released after paying her bond, which was set at $1470, and spent less than two hours in jail.

Kendra's booking shows she has a court date for the Arkansas charges on April 29. Joseph is scheduled to appear in court on that date as well.

This Aldi Bird Feeder Turns Your Window Into Live Entertainment

Fri, 03/20/2026 - 5:05pm

I rent my home, which means there are a few rules … and unfortunately, one of them is no pets. Well, technically, no pets. We do have a fish, and we love him dearly, but she's not exactly scratching that "Let's cuddle something fluffy" itch. (Sorry, Swimmy.) And if you ask my 7-year-old, this is a real injustice. She would absolutely fill this place with dogs, cats, hamsters—it would look like a small petting zoo if she had her way.

So we had to get a little creative. Enter: the next best thing that the whole family is now weirdly obsessed with—a clear bird feeder that suction cups right onto the window.

Belavi Removable Window Bird Feeder, $6.99 at Aldi

Aldi

We love that thing so much that we kind of want another one. And as luck would have it, Aldi is selling the Belavi Removeable Window Bird Feeder for just $6.99, debuting in-store on March 25.

Aldi's version is not huge, just under eight by eight inches, and it has a removable sliding feed tray that makes it easy to refill and clean. There are four suction cups attached to help you firmly adhere this sweet little feeder to your window. No muss, no fuss.

Related: Martha Stewart's New Candle Drop at JCPenney Includes a Perfect Spring Dessert Scent

And I'm telling you, it's all sorts of magical. The birds just fly up, help themselves to a snack, and hang out like they've got a standing invitation. Meanwhile, we're inside watching them like proud hosts, fully pretending they're our outdoor pets. We've started recognizing a few regulars, which feels like a slippery slope into naming them. (We're already halfway there.)

The birds get to live their best, free little lives, and we get all the joy of having "pets" without breaking the lease. It's a real win-win if you ask me.

Aldi Finds are absolutely slaying right now. If this clear bird feeder doesn't already make you feel like Snow White beckoning woodland creatures to your palm, then maybe a pair of flower-shaped serving pieces will add to the vibe. If you'd like to tackle some hobbies outside, it's selling a pretty potting bench, too. While you're out there, maybe accessorize with Aldi's ethereal suncatcher, too. You're already heading to Aldi, so what's one more happy item added to your cart?

Award-Winning Author’s Novel Ranked as No. 1 ‘Most Anticipated Fiction’ on Goodreads

Fri, 03/20/2026 - 4:45pm

Award-winning author Kathryn Stockett is making a highly anticipated return to fiction and readers are already taking notice.

Her upcoming novel, The Calamity Club, has been ranked the No. 1 most anticipated fiction book on Goodreads. According to Goodreads, the list is determined by how many members have added each title to their "want-to-read" shelves, making it a strong indicator of reader interest and early buzz.

Stockett is best known for her bestselling debut novel The Help, which became a global phenomenon and was later adapted into an Academy Award-winning film. But she didn't get off to an easy start in the publishing world. After nearly 60 rejections from literary agents, Stockett refused to give up.

"I'm really incredibly stubborn – you can ask my ex-husband," she told The Guardian." I think when you tell me "no", if it's something I really want, I'm just going to push harder… I can't tell you what it is that made me so want to be published. I just needed to see it on the page."

Since then, readers have made Stockett a permanent fixture in the world of literary fiction, and they have been eagerly awaiting her next project, making The Calamity Club one of the most talked-about upcoming releases.

Penguin Fig Tree, the novel’s U.K. publisher, has also revealed more about the story behind The Calamity Club.

View this post on Instagram

Set in Oxford, Mississippi, in 1933, the novel follows 11-year-old Meg Lefleur, a resilient orphan who has learned to depend on no one after her mother mysteriously disappears. Her life begins to change when she crosses paths with Birdie, a determined young woman confronting her estranged, high-society sister, and Charlie, a woman grappling with profound loss.

As the Great Depression looms over their lives, the women find themselves drawn together, forming an unlikely bond rooted in survival and defiance. According to the publisher, the story centers on a "disreputable, determined band of women" navigating a town shaped by secrecy and social expectations, where even small acts of rebellion carry real consequences.

Described as bold, heartwarming and even "riotously funny," The Calamity Club promises a story of resilience, friendship and a powerful sisterhood—offering readers a deeper look at women fighting to reclaim control of their futures.

For fans of Stockett's storytelling, the buzz surrounding The Calamity Club marks a major moment—one that signals her long-awaited return to the literary spotlight.

With its No. 1 ranking on Goodreads’ most anticipated list, The Calamity Club is already shaping up to be one of the must-read books of the season.

Lisa Kudrow’s Son Makes Rare Public Appearance 28 Years After She Was Pregnant With Him on ‘Friends’

Fri, 03/20/2026 - 4:35pm

Lisa Kudrow hit the red carpet with her son, Julian Murray Stern, in a rare moment in the spotlight for the Friends alum’s only child.

Kudrow, 62, and Julian, 27, posed for photos together at the Los Angeles premiere of her HBO show, The Comeback, on Thursday, March 19. She stunned in a black and white polka dot top and skirt as well as a black jacket, while he looked sharp in a blue suit and white button-down shirt.

At another point, Kudrow’s husband of 30 years, Michel Stern, joined his wife and son for pictures, wearing a navy blazer, white T-shirt, black pants and sunglasses. Kudrow stood between Michel, 67, and Julian as the trio smiled for the cameras.

Julian’s rare red carpet outing comes 28 years after his mother was pregnant with him while filming Friends. The NBCsitcom wrote Kudrow’s pregnancy into her storyline, with her character, Phoebe Buffay, acting as a surrogate for her brother, Frank Buffay Jr. (Giovanni Ribisi), and his wife, Alice Knight (Debra Jo Rupp), in seasons 4 and 5.

🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬

While Phoebe’s pregnancy arc appeared in Friends episodes airing from January to October 1998, Kudrow actually gave birth to Julian in May 1998. He subsequently spent the early years of his childhood on the set of the beloved sitcom, which ended in May 2004.

Julian Hamilton/FilmMagic

Now, Julian is starring alongside his famous mom on The Comeback. Kudrow reprises her role as Valerie Cherish on season 3 of the comedy series, which premieres on Sunday, March 22, while Julian’s character remains a mystery.

In a People interview published on Friday, March 20, Kudrow offered some insight into how she and Julian interacted on the Comeback set in between takes.

“I was kind of tired, and my brain was just a little fuzzy, and I’ve been looking at lines,” she recalled. “I walked in and I saw Julian sitting on the couch with some other people like, ‘Oh,’ and just walked over and climbed onto the couch right next to him and cuddled in.”

“And everyone just went … And he went, ‘Hi, Mom,’ and everyone was looking,” she continued. “It was maybe inappropriate just, like, to climb on him. I think some people didn’t know he was my son. So they were still wondering, ‘What’s happening right now?’”

Araya Doheny/Getty Images for HBO

For his part, Julian—who is an actor and editor with a film and TV production degree from the University of Southern California—told Entertainment Tonight he was “very nervous” acting alongside his mom for the first time.

“We do bits in the house sometimes, we do little sketches sometimes, but I’ve never been in front of a camera with her,” he explained at the premiere.

As for how he landed the part, Julian revealed it was actually Kudrow’s idea to cast him.

“She basically was just saying, ‘Hey, I think you’d be great for this role. He’s a nerdy, introverted guy.’ And I’m like, ‘OK, thanks, great,’” he recounted. “She just said, ‘I think this is a good opportunity. Let’s take it and run with it.’”

Although Julian is stepping into Kudrow’s onscreen world via The Comeback, he confessed he’s yet to watch Friends in full. Rather, he’s seen “bits and pieces” and has trouble separating his mom from her character. However, he vowed to “get around to” watching it all eventually.

Iconic '80s Rocker Addresses Departure From Major Band After Health Concerns

Fri, 03/20/2026 - 4:32pm

Dee Snider finally addressed the elephant in the room.

The 71-year-old musician and singer opened up about the health issues that forced him to withdraw from the Twister Sister 50th Anniversary Reunion Tour, which was scheduled to open on April 25 in São Paulo, Brazil. In the podcast The Jasta Show, hosted by Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta, the singer was a guest on the show's 734th episode. Snider went into detail about his struggles with degenerative arthritis, which has spread throughout his body, and caused heart problems and hypertension.

"My body's been causing me problems with growing arthritis and degenerative arthritis through my shoulders, my neck, my arms," Snider revealed. "It's worked down my legs. It's throughout my body. It hurts all the time."

Arthritis is a chronic condition that involves the inflammation or degeneration of joints, causing pain, stiffness and reduced mobility.

Though he tried to get through the chronic illness with painkillers, it led to more health issues. As much as he wanted to join his bandmates Jay Jay French, Eddie "Fingers" Ojeda, Russell Pzütto and Joey Cassata, he decided to back out of the tour after his four children — Jesse, Shane, Cody and Cheyenne — "begged him" not to go back on the road.

"My kids sat me down and said, 'Please stop' — some were crying — 'because you are going to kill yourself,'" he revealed. "They know who I am."

Though the band tried to talk him into staying by providing medical technicians throughout the tour, Snider's manager, Phil Carson, stepped in and said the singer "cannot do this."

"Phil said, 'I've stood on stage and watched you for decades. You cannot do this. You'll hurt yourself,'" the singer explained. "He called the guys up and said, 'He's out. He cannot do this. So stop offering him everything in the world.'"

To celebrate 50 years as a band, Twister Sister planned to reunite and celebrate this milestone with a world tour, which was announced in September, but in February, it was cancelled due to Snider's health issues.

"Due to the sudden and unexpected resignation of Twisted Sister's lead singer, Dee Snider, brought on by a series of health challenges, the band has been forced to cancel all shows scheduled," they wrote in a statement that was released on Feb 5. "The future of Twisted Sister will be determined in the next several updates."

But almost a month later, Twisted Sister announced on March 3 that they would continue the tour for a limited run in the fall, with Sebastian Bach replacing Snider on lead vocals. Rescheduled dates have not been announced.

Twisted Sister is a heavy metal band formed in New Jersey in 1976 and based in Long Island, New York. Best known for their songs "I Wanna Rock" and "We're Not Gonna Take It," they were known for their funny music videos and crazy hairstyles and makeup looks, which led to their rise in the heavy metal scene in the 1980s. The group has released seven studio albums, with their most recent being A Twisted Christmas in 2006.

Joseph Duggar Faces New Child Endangerment Charges in Arkansas

Fri, 03/20/2026 - 4:31pm

Police in Tontitown, Arkansas have filed new charges against 19 Kids and Counting's Joseph Duggar.

On Wednesday, Mar. 18, Joseph, 31, was arrested and charged for Lewd and Lascivious Behavior, involving unlawful sexual activity with a minor.

Joseph made his first court appearance on Friday, Mar. 20. He did not enter a plea and waived his right to an extradition hearing, meaning he agreed to be transferred to Florida to face charges.

That same day, police in Tontitown confirmed via a press release that they've filed new charges against Joseph in Arkansas. He is accused of four counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, as well as four counts of second-degree false imprisonment.

Police announced later that Joseph's wife, Kendra, is also facing the same charges related to the Arkansas case.

Joseph is being held in the Washington County Detention Center. No further information regarding the couple's alleged crimes has been provided as minor victims are involved, according to police.

Police confirmed to KNWA/FOX24 that the Arkansas charges are unrelated to the ongoing case in Florida. However, they did note their investigation was launched after learning of the alleged incident in Florida.

Joseph’s booking shows he has a court date for the Arkansas charges on April 29. Kendra is scheduled to appear in court that day as well.

According to the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, investigators in Florida were contacted on Mar. 18 by a police detective in Tontitown about a report of past sexual abuse.

During a forensic interview, the 14-year-old victim disclosed incidents involving Joseph during a family vacation in Panama City Beach, Florida, when she was 9.

According to the sheriff’s office, the victim reported that Joseph “repeatedly asked her to sit on his lap, sit beside him on a couch, and cover them with a blanket.” Joseph then allegedly made inappropriate contact with the victim and rubbed his hands on her thighs.

The victim said that Joseph eventually apologized, and that the alleged misconduct stopped after the apology.

Investigators discovered the victim’s father confronted Joseph about these incidents on Mar. 17, 2026, with Joseph admitting his actions to the victim’s father and to Tontitown detectives.

Joseph was arrested out of state and faces charges of Lewd and Lascivious Behavior, including Molestation of a victim under 12 and conduct by a person 18 or older.

This is not the first arrest for the Duggar family, either. Joseph’s older brother, Josh Duggar, was convicted of possessing child sexual abuse material in 2021 and sentenced to over 12 years in prison.

The Duggar Family did not immediately response to Parade's request for comment.

Where Does Kevin James Live?

This new Boca Raton estate is actually not James' first piece of real estate in Florida. In 2021, he purchased a mansion in Delray Beach. However, he didn't live there for long, as James and the home soon wound up involved in a complicated lawsuit, as reported by Realtor.com.

James' primary residence is on Long Island, N.Y., in a village called Old Westbury. The actor presumably lives there with model and actress Steffiana de la Cruz (his wife of more than 20 years) and their four children.

1971 Record Was Just Declared the 'Most Perfect' Classic Rock Album of the ’70s

Fri, 03/20/2026 - 4:17pm

Despite being released 55 years ago, Led Zeppelin's 1971 untitled record, known as Led Zeppelin IV, is still receiving acclaim.

On March 20, Collider released a list of the 10 top "most perfect" classic rock albums that were released in the 1970s, an era known for the genre. The list included classics like Queen's 1975 album, A Night at the Opera, The Beatles' Let It Be from 1970, Patti Smith's 1975 album, Horses, Bruce Springsteen's album Born to Run, released in 1975, and Pink Floyd's 1973 record, The Dark Side of the Moon. The top five ranking featured Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young's Déjà Vu from 1970, Santana's record Abraxas, Fleetwood Mac's Rumors from 1977, and Grateful Dead's 1970 album, American Beauty.

Led Zeppelin IV, which features such hits like "Black Dog," "Stairway to Heaven," and "Misty Mountain Hop," took home the number one spot.

Jimmy Page Explained Why the Beloved Album Was Untitled

In a November 2014 interview with Classic Vinyl, Led Zeppelin's guitarist Jimmy Page explained why the band didn't title their fourth studio album. He said that he and his bandmates, which included Robert Plant, the late John Bonham, and John Paul Jones, decided not to give their 1971 record a title because they wanted to release the album with limited information.

"It was the right way to deal with things at that time. Just like a lot of other things where you wanted to do things that other people hadn't done, we wanted to do something like that, at that point of time, with the fourth album, to put it out with no information on it seemed exactly the right logical thing," said the musician, now 82.

He clarified that the record company wasn't happy about the band's decision not to give the 1971 album a name.

"There was a lot of friction with the record company because the way they saw things was things [should] run normally," said the guitarist.

Page then told Classic Vinyl that the band was eventually proven right. In addition, he noted that the album cover has become an iconic image in rock history.

"The fact of having that album out and the old man with the sticks and the picture frame is so iconic that it was the right thing to do," said Page in the 2014 interview.
