Deviating from a genre of music a band is most known for can sometimes lead to a chart-topping hit. Felix Cavaliere and Eddie Brigati developed a No. 1 hit track in 1967 for their rock band, the Young Rascals, that took on a Latin American influence.

The '60s band had developed a following for their blend of rock, pop, and soul music with early hits like "Good Lovin" in 1966. A year later, the band decided to experiment away from their well-known genres and developed the track "Groovin," which took on the Brazilian music genre and dance style known as baião.

"Groovin" was created thanks to Cavaliere, who wanted to express his feelings of only getting to see his then-girlfriend, Adrienne Buccheri, on the weekends. The band's popularity, coupled with touring and recording sessions, didn't give the couple enough time to see each other. As a result, "Groovin" lyrics are about a narrator spending time with his partner on Sunday afternoons.

The Young Rascals, at the time, also wanted to move away from the genres that made them popular, with Cavaliere having also drawn inspiration from having worked at mountain resorts in upstate New York. It was there that he was introduced to Latin rhythms. When recording "Groovin" was complete, head of Atlantic Records Jerry Wexler was skeptical about the track because of the genre.

Disc jockey Murray the K was the one to convince Wexler that it would be a smashing hit, with Covaliere having once commented that the track is a homage to the  "whole world of Latin people out there who love to dance". They were right, as "Groovin" was released on April 10 and became a No. chart-topping hit on the Billboard Hot 100 charts a month later and kept its spot for two weeks.

Critics praised the track and noticed the band's change in genre for the better, and it was even tagged as being a summertime hit. It would later peak on the Billboard charts in May and June, with a broader fanbase for the band. "Groovin" would go on to cement itself in the  Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's "500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll" and would receive a Grammy Hall of Fame Award.

That same year, Booker T.& the M.G.'s recorded an instrumental version of the track that fit more of an instrumental rock and soul-inspired sound. It entered the Billboard Hot 100 charts at No. 86 and peaked at No. 21.

Fans of Love on the Spectrum have watched multiple stars get into their first relationships. The Netflix series has followed a select few couples after they commit to each other while introducing new singles.

Sadly, not all of them stay together. One beloved couple announced their break up after season 4 premiered.

Abbey Romeo and David Isaacman met in season 1 at a wildlife park of the reality show. They became a couple and traveled to Africa together to see lions. The couple talked about possibly having a family together one day.

The U.S. Sun reported on April 9 that Abbey, 27, and David, 31, broke up. Apparently they didn't agree on when to take a new step in their relationship.

"Sadly it’s true that David and Abbey broke up," a source told the outlet. "They couldn’t come to an agreement on when to get married. She was ready years ago, he still needed time."

The couple didn't have a main storyline in season 4. But they appeared at the end of the season to join the cast at an engagement party. The producers asked Abbey how was her boyfriend.

"He's good. We're still together," she answered in episode 7. "Neither of us are ready to get married, but we've been together for over four years. The good news is we already feel like we're already married in our hearts."

Abbey also said she didn't want to rush into a marriage because she wants to avoid divorce. David later joined her. "Hopefully, we're next!" she said, referencing an engagement.

"Yes, we can only be engaged whenever the time is right," he responded. David's last Instagram post with Abbey was on Christmas Eve. His most recent one promotes his children's book, The Big Five Save the Lions!

A season-long fan theory has finally been confirmed to be true on The Pitt, as Dr. Al-Hashimi (Sepideh Moafi) revealed to Dr. Robby (Noah Wyle) that she has an unspecified seizure disorder.

Viewers have been suspecting for much of this season that Dr. Al-Hashimi was suffering from some sort of neurological disorder, as she was caught by the camera multiple times seemingly staring off into space, as if she'd zoned out in the middle of the bustling emergency room.

It was confirmed in the show’s 11 o’clock hour, just seconds before the penultimate episode of Season 2 faded to black after the new attending requested a consult, looking for an “honest second opinion” from the head of the ER.

“I have some experience with this, but I’d appreciate a fresh perspective,” she told him, leading him to believe he was looking over the history of one of their new patients as he read an electronic chart in an empty treatment room.

It detailed a “40-year-old female with a history of seizure disorder for the past 35 years," who "was in excellent health" until she suffered "prolonged illness with viral meningitis" at five years old.

He trailed off as he read the information out loud, realizing she was looking for his opinion on her own medical care. 

While we'll have to wait one more week to hear what he has to say, and whether he has any concrete medical advice to offer her, we're here to fill in some gaps about what exactly happened to the good doctor as a little girl, and how it plays into her health decades later.

What Is Viral Meningitis?

Meningitis, simply put, is inflammation of the meninges, which are a series of protective layers around the brain and spinal cord.

Viral meningitis is inflammation of the meninges that is caused by a viral infection. It is usually less severe than bacterial meningitis, but can still do damage to a patient—especially very young chidren, who are more prone to contracting it.

What Causes Viral Meningitis?

According to the Cleveland Clinic, the two most common viruses that can lead to meningitis are enteroviruses (which include, but are not limited to, viruses that cause diseases like hand, foot and mouth or pink eye) and herpes simplex viruses. However, it can also happen as a result of measles or mumps infections, from influenza viruses, and from the same virus that causes chicken pox or shingles, among others.

What Are the Symptoms of Viral Meningitis?

Meningitis can cause symptoms like fever, chills, severe headache, extreme light sensitivity, stiff neck, and visual disturbances, and long-term, it can lead to vision or hearing loss, learning disabilities, and problems with fine motor skills.

Does Viral Meningitis Cause Seizures?

Seizures are not always a manifestation of viral meningitis, but if the inflammation spreads to the brain, which is known as encephalitis, it may cause permanent brain damage or scar tissue that can trigger seizures.

According to research published by the National Library of Medicine, the chance of developing a seizure disorder is less than seven percent.

What Is an Absence Seizure?

When you hear the word seizure, your mind may go straight to convulsions, which is the more commonly known form of seizures. However, there's also a kind of seizure called an absence seizure, in which a person appears to be awake, but is not responsive to their environment. They may look like they're daydreaming, or they may have minor repetitive movements, like smacking their lips, according to the Mayo Clinic.

The seizures are usually brief, lasting up to 30 seconds, and the person is usually immediately aware of their surroundings again, unlike a generalized seizure, which usually has a period of recovery where the person is drowsy and confused.

Naturally, this can pose a risk to the provider and her patients should she suffer an absence seizure in the middle of an important procedure, such as CPR, intubation, or a clamshell thoracotomy.

Hopefully, next week, we'll find out why she chose to come forward about her condition now and how it's been affecting her career—and if she still has one at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center.

26 years ago today, on April 10, Britney Spears’ iconic “Oops!... I Did It Again” music video premiered on MTV’s Making the Video before the song's global release a day later.

Directed by Nigel Dick, the out-of-this world cinematic clip depicts Spears as an alien from outer space coming into contact with a lovestruck astronaut on Mars. Perhaps the most iconic part of the visual is the flirtatious exchange the pair have toward the end of the clip, which references the 1997 James Cameron-directed blockbuster film, Titanic. 

In that moment,  the astronaut, played by former model-turned-surgeon Eli Swanson, offers Spears the supposed rare diamond featured in the Titanic movie. 

The Dialogue

“Britney, before you go, there’s something I want you to have,” he tells the then-teenage pop star. 

“But wait a minute, isn't this?” Spears questions.

“Yes, it is,” Swanson confirms before she asks, “But I thought the old lady dropped it into the ocean in the end?”

“Well, baby. I went down and got it for you,” he tells her, to which she replies, “Aww. You shouldn’t have.” 

Remembering the Filming Process

“Half of it was a green screen, and the other half had red rocks to mimic the surface of Mars,” Swanson recalled during an interview with People. “There was also a whole crew of dancers and the red suit.” 

The red suit he was referring to was the attire in the clip, which signaled the arrival of Spears as an artist, who was entering a new phase of her career while also making an impact on pop culture and fashion. 

For the video, the singer donned a statement-making tight red latex jumpsuit. The form-fitting ensemble was a far cry from the teeny-bopper high-school outfit and pig-tails she wore for her earlier video release of “...Baby One More Time.” Though that music video launched the star’s career, “Oops!... I Did It Again” solidified her status as a global icon widely regarded as the “Princess of Pop.” 

The video for “Oops!... I Did It Again” received three nominations at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. Meanwhile, the song, released on April 11, 2000, via Jive Records, was an instant success. Written and produced by Max Martin and Rami Yacoub, the tune, which serves as the title track and the lead-off single from Spears’ second studio album of the same name, not only topped the charts in over 20 countries, but it also received a Grammy nomination in 2001 for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

If you came of age in the late ’70s and early ’80s, there’s a good chance Brian Setzer was part of your soundtrack.

The Stray Cats frontman turns 67 on April 10, and his career is one of those rare stories that feels both deeply rooted in nostalgia and still unmistakably influential today.

Setzer first burst onto the scene as the leader of Stray Cats, a band that helped bring rockabilly roaring back into the mainstream at a time when new wave and synth-pop were dominating the charts. Few books have become as timelessly beloved as The Princess Bride.

Fans are left disappointed after the electro-rock band Puscifer announced unexpected news about their show.

The three-member band is in the middle of their The Normal Isn't North American Tour, supporting their latest album of the same name, released in February. 

Since March 20, the “Momma Sed” hitmakers have been on the road performing across multiple states, with Las Vegas marking the kickoff of their tour.

As they traveled across the East Coast, Puscifer experienced a setback before their performance in Pennsylvania.

In an Instagram post, the band announced that they were forced to postpone the upcoming show in Hershey.

According to their official statement, there was an issue with the venue, prompting a necessary delay for everyone's safety.

“The venue is currently experiencing a plumbing issue that makes rescheduling necessary. We’re working closely with the promoter to reschedule the performance as soon as possible. Please stay tuned for updates. We’ll share more information as soon as we have it. Thanks for your patience and understanding,” the post reads.

Set for April 8, the unexpected update in their schedule came as a surprise to concertgoers, leaving them caught off guard.

“Just got to my hotel in PA. This is GREAT,” a commenter sarcastically wrote.

“Just came in from the UK. I guess I'll have some chocolate now,” another added, trying to lighten the situation.

“Literally just drove 2 hours and got the email as soon as I got here. FML,” a commenter said.

“Drove 4 hours from Ithaca, NY for the show. Total bummer! Like a kidney stone, this too will pass (and hopefully be rescheduled),” a follower echoed.

As of this writing, fans are still awaiting updates regarding the postponed show in Pennsylvania.

As rock history has proven over and over again, oftentimes a band's biggest hit is a song they didn't expect to do particularly well.

A perfect example? America's classic 1972 #1 hit, "A Horse With No Name."

As guitarist/singer Dewey Bunnell told Classic Rock in 2007, "everybody had a song called 'I Need You' in mind as the single."

"It was initially felt that 'A Horse With No Name' was good but perhaps a little too quirky," he continued. "At first it felt like a bit of a novelty song. It was a shock that it became so popular.”

Now, over 50 years after "A Horse With No Name" was released, Bunnell continues to be shocked by the song's success. In a new video posted to America's official TikTok, Bunnell took the time to thank fans for the track's most recent milestone: Passing the billion-streams mark on Spotify.

"Hi, this is Dewey Bunnell of the band America," the musician said in the clip.

"I'm amazed and surprised that I've just been informed that the song 'Horse With No Name,' which I wrote and America recorded, of course, 50-plus years ago, has surpassed the 1 billion mark on Spotify," he continued. "Thank you to all you listeners, thank you Spotify, and thank you to that old horse with no name."

Fans in the comments were thrilled to hear the news, with one calling the accomplishment "pure gold."

"Proves that music is timeless!" added a second person.

"One of the greatest songs ever written," declared someone else, with another commenter calling it the "best song ever."

Not only did Bunnell come around to the fact that "A Horse With No Name" was destined to be a hit, he's also made peace with the fact that America is associated with the soft rock genre, as he told Classic Rock.

“Being called ‘middle of the road’ used to make me flinch,” he said, “but I’d like to think that we’ve carved out our own place in music history.”

It seems Spotify users would say that's exactly what America has done.

After decades as one of rock's most influential figures, Roger Waters is stepping back into the spotlight with a major new announcement.

The Pink Floyd co-founder is introducing LEGACY: A Pink Floyd Show, a tribute performance led by his son, Harry Waters. Set to tour next year, the production will highlight music from the band's "golden era," along with select songs from Rogers' solo career.

According to Roger, the show is designed as both a celebration and a continuation of the music that shaped his career. In the Instagram announcement, he described it as "The Father's Legacy, the Son's Band," highlighting a passing of Pink Floyd's legendary music to the next generation.

But the reveal came with a twist. Rogers also issued an open call for a vocalist to join the band, noting that one key element is still missing.

"Harry's band is missing one thing. The voice I had when I was young," he said, referencing the vocal skill and range required to perform tracks like "Comfortably Numb" and "Don't Leave Me Now." He then invited fans directly to audition, calling it a serious opportunity for the right performer.

The announcement's interactive element is drawing attention, as it gives fans a once-in-a-lifetime chance to become a part of Pink Floyd's legacy. It also reflects Roger's continued influence on the band's impact.

Rogers' place in rock music remains firmly intact. As a strong creative force behind albums like The Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall, he helped push the boundaries of rock and live performance throughout the 1970s.

Now, LEGACY is bringing that era back, while also giving the music a fresh perspective led by his son. Nostalgic audiences and new listeners alike will be able to hear some of rock's greatest hits live after decades of deprivation. The added audition only heightens anticipation, turning the show into something fans can actively be part of.

Even decades after Pink Floyd's peak, Rogers continues to find new ways to keep the music alive, now passing it forward to a new generation.

President Donald Trump has an affinity for the British royal family and even reportedly has one of Queen Elizabeth II’s final portraits hanging in his Mar-a-Lago home.

Queen Elizabeth sat for a portrait by the Polish-British artist Basia Kaczmarowska-Hamilton just four months before her death in September 2022 at the age of 96, author Robert Hardman explains in his new biography, Elizabeth II: In Private. In Public. The Inside Story. The resulting painting ended up being the last official portrait of the monarch and was originally intended for London's Polish Institute. However, the Queen was thrilled with the painting and requested to keep it, according to Hardman. The original is still hanging in Windsor Castle, and a reproduction was sent to the Polish Institute. 

An additional reproduction was also given to Trump, 79, by the artist because he wanted a “permanent reminder” of the monarch following her death, the biographer claims.

Trump formally met Queen Elizabeth on two occasions during his presidency. In July 2018, Trump and his wife, Melania Trump, visited Windsor Castle for tea and a ceremonial welcome. The Trumps also partook in a formal state visit to Buckingham Palace in June 2019.

"She was so great. I wanted to hang her picture in a room where there is no one else on the wall," Trump reportedly told Hardman. The author reports that the painting now hangs above a medieval ship painting in the dining room of Trump's Florida residence.

Trump was reportedly “awestruck” by the Queen, according to former White House Russia advisor Fiona Hill in her 2021 book, There Is Nothing For You Here: Finding Opportunity in the 21st Century. She said he saw a meeting with her Majesty as a sign that he "had made it in life."

After Elizabeth’s death, Trump said in a statement he and the First Lady would "always cherish our time together with the Queen, and never forget Her Majesty's generous friendship, great wisdom, and wonderful sense of humor."

"What a grand and beautiful lady she was—there was nobody like her!" Trump wrote at the time on social media. "Our thoughts and prayers will remain with the great people of the United Kingdom as you honor her most meaningful life and exceptional service to the people. May God bless the Queen, may she reign forever in our hearts, and may God hold her and Prince Philip in abiding care."

It’s not as obvious if the feeling was mutual. Queen Elizabeth’s friend Monty Roberts claimed the monarch “didn’t like” Trump in the 2024 documentary The Cowboy and the Queen. Author Craig Brown’s 2024 biography on the monarch, A Voyage Around the Queen, made similar claims.

"A few weeks after President Trump's visit, for instance, she confided in one lunch guest that she found him ‘very rude,’” wrote Brown. “She particularly disliked the way he couldn't stop looking over her shoulder, as though in search of others more interesting."

Trump seemingly has the same adoration for Elizabeth’s son and the current reigning monarch, King Charles. Although the president has been butting heads with U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer, he has expressed excitement about Charles and Queen Camilla’s upcoming state visit at the end of April.

“I look forward to spending time with the King, whom I greatly respect,” Trump wrote on Truth Social after the palace’s announcement of the King’s trip, PBS reported. “It will be TERRIFIC!”

Despite calls to cancel the trip, both publicly and politically, Charles and Camilla are set to make their first US state visit since His Majesty ascended to the throne. 

Queen Elizabeth II was lucky enough to meet one of her youngest great-grandchildren, Princess Lilibet, shortly before she died in 2022. 

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who share son PrinceArchie and daughter Lilibet, had been living in the United States for nearly two years before their family of four made a trip to the U.K. for a series of events marking the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in June 2022.

Robert Hardman gave details about one of the final times the royal family gathered to celebrate Elizabeth’s 70th year on the throne in his biography, Elizabeth II: In Private. In Public. Her Story.

"The Queen would finally get to meet Lilibet and was thrilled, say friends, as the 1-year-old crawled around her feet," Hardman writes in his upcoming book, out May 19.

The Duke of Sussex, 41, also recalled the special meeting with Archie, now 6, and Lilibet, now 4, which marked the only time the Queen spent time in person with her great-granddaughter, before her death at the age of 96. The Duke of Sussex said he reflected on those happy memories in the days following Elizabeth’s death in September 2022.

"I also couldn’t stop picturing [the children] with Granny. The final visit. Archie making deep, chivalrous bows, his baby sister Lilibet cuddling the monarch’s shins," Harry wrote in his memoir, Spare. “‘Sweetest children,’ Granny said, sounding bemused. She’d expected them to be a bit more … American, I think? Meaning, in her mind, more rambunctious.”

While that was the final time Archie and Lilibet would spend with the monarch, Elizabeth was able to gather her other great-grandchildren at Balmoral in summer 2022. 

"The Queen wanted all the great-grandchildren to come up to Balmoral at some point over that summer, even if the Sussexes might not be able to make it," Hardman writes, per an excerpt published by the Daily Mail. “She wanted to make sure that they all had a really happy memory of her,' explained a friend of the family.”

Harry has spoken extensively about his special bond with Elizabeth, whom he affectionately referred to as “granny.” He wrote more about their happy memories together in Spare.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor not only lost his royal titles amid public criticism over his ties to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, but he was also forced to leave his residence of 20 years. Where Did Prince Andrew Move From?

The former Prince Andrew lived at Royal Lodge, a 30-room estate nestled in Windsor Great Park. It was built in the 1800s and used as a beloved country retreat for King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, the parents of Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Margaret. Andrew moved into the residence with ex-wife Sarah Ferguson and their daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, after Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother's death in 2002.

Although Andrew stepped back from his royal duties in 2019 under the recommendation of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, King Charles took further measures to sever his brother from the royal family in 2025. Andrew came under fresh scrutiny after the release of Virginia Giuffre’s posthumous memoir, Nobody's Girl, where she alleged she had sex with Andrew when she was 17. In addition, documents released by the United States Department of Justice showed further ties between Andrew, Epstein, and Ferguson.

In October 2025, Buckingham Palace released a statement that it "initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew,” noting he would be now known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. The statement also specified that Andrew would be forced to move from Royal Lodge into another "private accommodation."

"These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him," the palace said at the time. "Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse."

Where Is Prince Andrew Living Now?

After leaving Royal Lodge, Andrew moved into Wood Farm on Sandringham while his new home, Marsh Farm, went through extensive renovations. Wood Farm, a five-bedroom secluded estate, is a favorite of the royal family and where Prince Philip lived after he retired from his royal duties in 2017. 

Wood Lodge is where Andrew was arrested in February 2026 on his 66th birthday in connection with an investigation into misconduct in public office related to his ties to Epstein. He was released after 11 hours and returned to Wood Farm under investigation.

Andrew was reportedly “dragging his feet” about leaving Wood Lodge, The Sun reported. Things came to a head when Prince Edward and his wife, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, were annoyed about Andrew still living at the property and they were unable to stay at the residence over Easter weekend. 

The disgraced prince has reportedly officially moved into Marsh Farm, per Daily Mail, as he was seen walking his dog near the property on April 6.

Andrew living at Royal Lodge sent a message to the public that King Charles still supported his brother, both emotionally and financially. The monarch’s actions come under public scrutiny because taxpayer dollars fund the British Royal Family, primarily through an annual payment known as the Sovereign Grant, according to the House of Commons Library. In 2024, author Robert Hardman claimed in his book, Charles III: New King. New Court. The Inside Story, that Charles cut his brother off financially in the wake of public criticism.

Charles reportedly instructed the Keeper of the Privy Purse to end Andrew’s estimated $1.3 million (£1 million) a year personal allowance and stop paying for his seven-figure private security, Hardman claimed in his book, per an excerpt by the Daily Mail.

Because I Said So showcased a stellar cast, including the late Diane Keaton and Mandy Moore, but the storyline seemed to fall flat.

The 1990s and early 2000s, also known as the Y2K era, delivered some of the most beloved romanticcomedies. Unfortunately, one film landed at the very bottom and earned the harsh label of “worst romantic comedy of all time.”

Rotten Tomatoes, a known online review aggregation website for film and television, released a list of 35 romantic comedy films widely regarded as the worst. Landing at the top spot is the 2007 movie Because I Said So.

According to the rankings, critics noted that the rom-com film was “overly reliant on caricatures and lacking any human insight” and described it as “an unfunny, cliche-ridden mess.”

The rom-com movie received a 3 percent score on the Tomatometer, which represents the proportion of professional critics who reviewed it positively.

As for the Popcornmeter, audiences gave it a 65 percent score, an okay-to-decent rating that suggests that the movie is watchable but one that likely has noticeable flaws that kept it from being a fan favorite.

Other movies included in Rotten Tomatoes' “worst romantic comedy of all time” are Down to You, Saving Sara, Material Girls, A Little Bit of Heaven, Waiting for Forever, Good Luck Chuck, Gigli and The Perfect Man in the top 10.

Helmed by Michael Lehmann, the director behind the 1989 cult classic black comedy Heathers, Because I Said So focuses on a mother’s struggle to let go of her adult daughters.

Keaton took on the character of Daphne Wilder, who has three daughters, Maggie (Lauren Graham), Mae (Piper Perabo) and her youngest, Milly (Mandy Moore).

With Daphne witnessing Milly often choose the wrong man, she stepped in to avoid her daughter repeating the same mistakes.

In a previous interview, Mandy Moore shared that she had to put her “game face on” the moment she began working with Diane Keaton.

“But inside I was freaking out,” she told Hollywood, adding that she felt the need to step it up while working opposite such a legendary performer.

Despite her initial nerves, Moore revealed that Keaton ultimately made her feel “so comfortable” on set.

Besides Moore, Keaton, Perabo and Graham, the Because I Said So cast also includes Gabriel Macht as Johnny Dresden, Milly's love interest.
