Sharon Stoneis finally speaking out about some of the hardships she faced years earlier, and the health scare that was the final straw in ending her second marriage.

While appearing on David Begnaud’s The Person Who Believed In Me podcast, the actor not only opened up about the devastating attack from 10 years ago, but also the moment she knew her marriage was over. Stone faced a major health scare in the early 2000s that her to learns she had tumors in both breasts.

She recalls one of the tumors being "bigger than the size of my entire left breast." To learn more about the possibility of cancer and treatment, she had a doctor come to her home who said, "Look, we think you should have a bilateral mastectomy. This is really bad. And we usually, when they’re all the way up into here, we know before we go in that they’re cancer."

Despite what the doctor said, Stone knew the tumors were benign and wholeheartedly believed she didn't have cancer. Her stance didn't sit well with the doctor, who felt she didn't have a choice in deciding that, "and I said, ‘I do. I do get to decide that. I’m deciding.'”

Alongside learning about the tumors and a plan of action, Stone never expected her then-husband to have a reaction that would change everything. The Casino actor decided to undergo surgery, with her ex-husband making it clear he didn't support her decision.

“My husband said, ‘This is ridiculous,'” she recalled. “And got up and left the room.”

To add fuel to the fire, Begnaud asked for clarification on what her then-husband was angry over. Stone verified that he was "furious" at her decision to have a bilateral mastectomy and not the reality of the tumors being cancerous. In the end, his reaction to her having both breasts removed was the final straw in their marriage.

“And so the doctor said to him, ‘If I had more patients like her, we’d have more women alive today. You need to sit down.’ And I said, ‘I make the decisions, not you,'” she shared.

“That was the end of the marriage. That was it. He was done with me then. It was over," she added. "It was just over in the room. You could just tell. It was over. It was just over. He thought I was ridiculous. He thought it was foolish. He thought I was making too many decisions myself."

Thankfully, Stone learned that her tumors were in fact benign and didn't have to undergo a double mastectomy.

During the podcast, Stone doesn't mention the name of her ex-husband. Based on the timeline of when the health scare occurred, she was married to her second husband, Phil Bronstein. They married in 1998 and later divorced in 2004.

Survivor season 33 runner-up Ken McNickle took to Instagram on Wednesday, June 3, revealing that he was diagnosed with cancer.

“So here we go … I deliberated for a while about whether to share or not but I ultimately decided to because I’m hoping this chapter in my story can help others," McNickle wrote. "I've made some mistakes in the process and should have taken care of myself better and sooner."

"But here we are. I'll be sharing more, but this is enough for today," he continued. "As I've said before, if you have a health concern, don't sit on it. Get yourself checked. There's no valid reason not to. Not one."

In his post, McNickle also shared a photo of himself in the doctor's office, opening up about the moment he learned the news. He then shared a follow-up video where he talked about the symptoms that led to him going to the doctor.

“I waited almost a year until my skin was tearing open to get this checked. Had I gone in sooner, it would have been a simple procedure,” McNickle explained. “Not a three-inch hole in my chest.”

Many flooded the comments with supportive messages.

"I’m deeply sorry Ken that you have to go through this. You are a strong, resilient person and cancer fucked with the wrong guy. You got this. Sending healing energy," Adam Klein, who won the season of Survivor that McNickle competed on, commented.

"You got this! There is always something beautiful ❤️‍🩹behind every difficult situation," one person wrote.

"These are all the emotions I felt, too! But attitude is everything and cancer treatments have come a long way, so choosing to be positive is a lot easier now. Wishing you the very best!," another person posted.

"Sending many prayers for strength and a full recovery.🙏💪💕," a fan shared.

Sarah Sherman wouldn't let anything stop her from following through with one of her more memorable Saturday Night Livesketches.

The comedian revealed on SNL's The Rundown series that she once lied to get a "weird" end-of-episode sketch past Lorne Michaels and the rest of the NBC show's team, despite their concerns about the prop required.

In Season 48's "Eyes," which aired in October 2022, Sherman played Janine, a woman who had her eyes replaced with giant googly eyes and found herself frustrated that her coworkers were ignoring the change.

"The googly eyes, I couldn't really see out of," Sherman admitted on The Rundown. "I told everyone I could, but they weren't gonna let me do the sketch if I couldn't see."

She explained, "There was a hole in the white part of the googly eye and a hole in the black part of the googly eye, so I could only see it when they lined up perfectly. But the whole joke of the sketch is that they're moving around crazy," adding, "So don't tell Lorne I memorized so that I could pull the sketch off."

Sherman also revealed that props have a very special place on SNL, sometimes even breaking the news that a sketch has been cut. "Many times I've been in [the last sketch] slot, I have the wig on, I have the costume on, I'm waiting to see if it's still in the show. All of a sudden, I just feel my hairdresser's hands come onto my head to peel the wig right off," she shared. "That's how I know it's been cut."

Sherman, who joined SNL as a featured player in Season 47 before being promoted to repertory status two years later, admitted that she still hasn't "totally figured out how to do the show," which she described as "a live beast."

"It’s changing with culture. It’s changing with news," she continued. "I’ve been here five years, and I still haven’t totally figured it out. So I feel like every week is like a weird opportunity to figure it out."

The Spin Doctors have shared a major update on their 2026 touring schedule, announcing additional dates for their ongoing Still A Gorilla 2026 Tour as the veteran rock band prepares for another busy stretch of live performances across the United States.

The announcement was made through the band's official Instagram account, where they told fans,”The Still A Gorilla 2026 Tour picks back up tomorrow night! Whether you’ve already caught a show or you’ve got tickets for one coming up, we’re looking forward to seeing you out there."

The update comes as the New York-born alternative rock group continues an extensive run of concerts scheduled throughout the summer and fall of 2026. The tour supports the band's latest era following the release of their 2025 album Face Full of Cake, which featured the single "Still a Gorilla."

Known for 1990s hits including "Two Princes" and "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong," the Spin Doctors are set to perform dozens of shows across North America over the coming months.

The newly expanded schedule includes appearances at festivals, amphitheaters, casinos, theaters and outdoor concert venues throughout the United States.

The tour resumes in June with performances in East Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Charleston, West Virginia; Nantucket, Massachusetts; Eau Claire, Wisconsin and Umatilla, Oregon before moving into a packed July schedule.

Among the band's upcoming stops are Summerfest in Milwaukee, American Music Festival in Berwyn and several headline and co-headline performances with fellow 1990s favorites Blues Traveler and Gin Blossoms.

Throughout July and August, Spin Doctors will perform in cities including Grand Junction, Redmond, Sparks, Los Angeles, Saratoga Springs, Atlantic City, Asbury Park, Harrisburg, Columbus, Boston, New York City, Cary and Charlotte.

The tour continues through September with dates in Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Michigan and additional markets before concluding with an October 10 performance at The Pool at SAHARA Las Vegas.

Several events on the itinerary already show strong demand. Certain performances have been marked as sold out, while others offer VIP ticket packages and special event access.

The announcement of new North American dates arrives shortly after the band canceled its planned Australian anniversary tour.

Just weeks before the scheduled May 2026 launch, promoters confirmed that the Australian run would not move forward due to what was described as "unexpected logistical shifts and circumstances."

The canceled trek would have marked Spin Doctors' first performances in Australia since 1993 and was expected to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the band's breakthrough album Pocket Full of Kryptonite.

Despite the setback overseas, the latest tour update signals that the group remains focused on its North American concert schedule and is continuing to add opportunities for fans to see them live.

The band also stated that they appreciate the support received from fans in Australia and New Zealand and hope to return in the future.

Spin Doctors first rose to international fame in the early 1990s with the success of Pocket Full of Kryptonite. The album produced several of the band's biggest songs, including "Two Princes" and "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong," helping the group sell millions of records worldwide.

Today, the lineup consists of Chris Barron on lead vocals, Eric Schenkman on guitar and vocals, Aaron Comess on drums and keyboards and Jack Daley on bass.

With new dates now added and dozens of performances still ahead, fans across North America will have additional chances to catch the Spin Doctors on stage throughout the remainder of 2026.

Toy Story 5 officially arrives in theaters on June 19. The fifth entry in the hit Toy Story series, the movie follows the iconic band of talking toys as they face off against an intelligent tablet threatening to monopolize their owner's attention.

Alexa Demie, who plays Maddy Perez in HBO's Euphoria, has opened up about filming uncomfortable scenes because she was worried saying no would cost her world.

Demie admitted she was worried she would lose her role in the drama, which debuted in 2019, if she declined sexually explicit scenes or nudity. The actress told The Hollywood Reporterthat she felt pressure early in her career to agree to film scenes that made her uncomfortable.

“I thought that if I said no to doing them, then I wouldn’t have the part,” the 35-year-old revealed. “Not because anyone ever said that to me, but because I was so young and I didn’t know.”

One of these scenes, which made her uncomfortable, involved Maddy cheating on Jacob Elordi's Nate. "I’m not saying I don’t love sex, and I think it can be portrayed beautifully, and I know the show is portraying the life of teenage girls," she admitted before adding. “Once I did it, I realized, ‘OK, I don’t love how this feels.’” she said.

Luckily, the team behind the controversial show, which recently ended after three seasons, was receptive to her concerns. “I said something afterwards, and everyone was really empathetic,” she said, adding that she was never asked to perform the same type of scene again.

Her comments come amid controversy at some of the raunchier scenes this season, which have been mostly aimed at her co-star Sydney Sweeney. Back in 2023, Sydney defended Euphoria showrunner Sam Levinson and his controversial storytelling to Variety.

“You have me, you have Z, you have all of these very strongminded, independent women. If we didn’t feel comfortable with something, or we saw something we didn’t like, we’d all speak up,” she told the outlet. “It’s hard to see someone completely trashed by the public and the media when no one’s actually there. We are there, and clearly we’re still working on the show, and we’re still supportive.”

The finale of Survivor 50 was highly anticipated in more ways than one. Not only would the winner of the all-star season be crowned, earning $2 million in the process, but the veteran reality series would be making a return to the live reunion format for the first time in over half a decade. And that return came with an instantly iconic moment, as host Jeff Probst revealed Rizo Velovic went out in Final Four firemaking — before the show did.

The flub immedately blew up online, becoming the most talked-about moment of the three-hour epic ending to Season 50. It's arguably the biggest moment that came out of a live finale since over 20 years ago, when Boston Rob Mariano, moments before the winner of Survivor: All-Stars was revealed, proposed his number one ally and the season's eventual Sole Survivor, Amber Brkich. And when Parade had the chance to talk with the reality TV legend, we had to get his reaction to that Probst moment, considering he (and many other Survivor winners) were in the room when it happened. Or was he?

"I went back to get a Diet Coke," the 50-year-old admits in an exclusive interview.

Regardless of where he was on the Paramount lot when it happened, Mariano has nothing but compliments for how the Emmy winner handled the aftermath. Indeed, the host and executive producer made light of the moment a couple of times the rest of the evening, including a joke about how the fans had voted for a new twist that let them know the firemaking outcome ahead of time.

"What, are you gonna do? He owned it right away," Mariano reasons. "The guy went 40 seasons of doing live shows and made zero mistakes, and they're gonna talk about the one time he made one. It doesn't feel fair. He's such a pro that he just handled it right away, immediately. And that's what makes Jeff so great. He didn't try to sugarcoat it; he didn't blame it on anyone else. He went out there and owned it, and I think that's why everyone loves him."

While Mariano was grabbing a cool drink at the time of the finale gaffe, this summer, Corona gives the opportunity for Survivor fans to go on their own thirst-quenching hunt as well. Getting invited to the live finale also gave Mariano the opportunity to support one particular Survivor 50 player in person. Jonathan Young, a standout from Season 42, spoke with Parade in the preseason about studying under the five-time player's tutelage in the years before his return to the beach. And, when Mariano found out Young would officially be making a return for Season 50, he was eager to give him some sage words of wisdom.

As he recalls, "I told him, 'There's going to be lots of things that are going to be outside of your control. You can't worry about what's outside of your control. Focus on what you can control.' I told him, 'Just know that nobody out there is out there to help you win, despite what they say.' Always remember, singularly, you have to be focused on yourself. And I told him to smile. Because Jonathan is such a fun, great guy. But when you look at him, if he's not smiling, he looks so intimidating and scary, because he's got the big beard and the muscles and everything. I was like, 'You gotta smile to disarm them and let them know how you are.' So I think he could have smiled a little more, but overall he did great, and I'm really proud of him."

Unfortunately, Young ultimately lost out on the title of Sole Survivor, coming in second place to Aubry Bracco. The 32-year-old was quite surprised and devastated by the news, as he was palpably emotional both in the moment and in speaking with Parade the next day. It's a feeling Mariano knows all too well, considering he has also just missed out on a win after making the final Tribal Council in a returnee season.

"I mean, it's tough," he reasons. "It's really hard, because at the end, whoever wins the immunities dictates who gets to the end. And you want to sit at the end with the people that you can beat. But sometimes, if you don't win the immunities in the right spots, you don't have control over that. He was trying to figure out a way to sit with a different Final Three than he sat with, but it didn't happen like that. So it's hard. It's really, really hard, because that's what makes Survivor so great is because it's so hard, and you can do everything right, and things can go your way, and right at the end, something doesn't. And I think he found himself in a really tough position at the end."

"I know that it was really hard for him," he continues. "This last week or so, he's really devastated by not winning, and it was hard for him, and he's gone through lots of different emotions. And I just told him, 'You've got to keep your head up. You've got to let go of what's gone, and figure out a way to fight again next time.' And I think maybe we'll get to see him again. Maybe he gets another chance, with more perspective. And I sympathize, because when I went through it the first time, the second time, it made it easier."

Despite his connection to Young, Mariano also has a surprising amount in common with Bracco as well. Both are New England natives who had a controversial runner-up finish. And after being brutally blindsided premerge in their third season, the fourth time was the charm, taking home the win. So what does Mariano think about what she brought to the beach on Survivor 50?

"I thought she played a great game," he says. "She played a different game. Survivor's changed over the years. And I think that's something that hasn't really been noted. I give Aubry credit, because I've always said whoever wins is the person that wins. The jury doesn't have rules that they have to follow. They can vote however they want, though a lot of times it's emotional versus strategic or logical in people's mind. But I think she did what she needed to do to win, and I don't think we should take that away from her."

That said, while he didn't have much to nitpick about Aubry's win, he did with a couple of people who voted for her.

"I do think it's interesting that people like Cirie [Fields] and Ozzy [Lusth] talked about, 'Aubry played the middle.' Years ago, that would be considered being called a coattail rider. She rode someone's coattails, and that was looked down upon, and now it's being revered. So, I wonder, is that something they actually revere, or is that the excuse they're giving to be able to justify their vote? To say she played the middle really well, because they didn't want to vote for Jonathan, or they didn't want to vote for Joe, so they wanted to vote for Aubry. 'What's the excuse we can use for Aubry?'"

"And I don't want this to take away from Aubry's win," he clarifies. "Because I do believe she should have won. But it's interesting. I think [it 's] a lesson in psychology, how everybody tells themselves the stories they want to hear and that's always been the way. You're a pretty cerebral guy, Mike, and you see all sides, and you see the bigger picture. I don't think everyone does. And I think in the moment, I think you don't have to say anything. As a jury member, you can say whatever you want. But I think in their mind sometimes they feel that justifying it makes it logical."

When Serena Neel first set up her free 7-Eleven at her house, she likely didn’t quite expect the response that it did. This was a kind gesture for delivery drivers who would come to her house, and it turned into something heartwarming.

Many people would likely say that people will take advantage of free things, but that wasn’t the case for Neel. After setting up shop — in fact, even before she fully set everything up — customers arrived and took a few items that they would need from one regular trip.

The initial decision was to set up shop for delivery drivers, and either she gets a lot of deliveries or the word gets around that she is offering something. After all, a couple of FedEx drivers turned up on Day 1 of the experiment.

Others saw the sign and came into the setup as well, with the first customer coming back later in the day with his children. He initially took a drink and a hot dog, and then he brought his children later, who also only took a few items and said thank you for Neel’s generosity.

Throughout the day, people grabbed drinks, ice creams, hot dogs, and nachos. Neel had everything set up with coffee, slushies, and the genuine pizza and taquitos from 7-Eleven. She purposely went out to an actual store to buy out the items and then offer everything for free in her warmer.

Her generosity led to the TikToker going viral on the app, with many people commenting about how sweet she is. One user said that “Serena is giving me "if i win the lottery i wont tell anybody but there will be signs" vibes.”

Another user shared, “You’re healing a part of my soul that left me when Jenna Marbles left socials.” In fact, many TikTokers are noting that she has “Jenna Marbles” vibes, a content creator who was known for her iconic beauty transformations and kindness before she left the app completely in 2020.

Since posting the video on June 3, 2026, Neel has had 9.3 million viewers. The video before she announced that she was opening the free 7-Eleven, and that has gained 16 million views at the time of writing this. This is not a one-time gimmick, as she announced at the end of the video that she would return the next day with Day 2 of her freebie set-up.

Meissner also shared more about the development of the novel, including the inspiration behind the story, which all started after reading “an essay a couple of years ago about two sisters struggling to protect their 80-year-old mother—who was slipping into dementia—from a younger man who appeared to be a very clever and sly opportunist. The mother refused to believe this man, whose company she enjoyed very much, was taking advantage of her, and she grew to resent and then resist her daughters’ intrusions.”

In the end, the mother cut her daughters off, and it was a story that touched Meissner’s heart. Mixed with the fact that the “1968 Apollo missions took place during one of the most difficult years in America in modern times. It was a year of great political unrest, uncertainty, and sadness, defined by a terrible, unwinnable war in Vietnam and two heartbreaking assassinations. Some say it was a year when hope died in America,” the elements came together into something magical.

After all, Somewhere, Something Incredible is about three women in one family. Gwen is a middle-aged housewife who is simply trying to keep it all together. She has a daughter to raise and a fragile mother to look after now that her father has passed away. However, when Gwen’s mother suffers a fall and a head injury, her whole personality changes, and now Gwen is alarmed when her mother befriends a much younger man.

While dealing with this, her 17-year-old daughter is struggling with a loss of her own. Her friend died while in Vietnam, and now everything has been thrown off track.

As you can see from the gorgeous cover below, it brings that idea of a woman struggling with everything she is going through. When Meissner first saw the cover, she was pulled in by the “vibrancy of the colors paired with that subtle but unmistakable full moon.”

She went on to share with Parade that “Gwen is looking at that moon with her on-point 60’s hairstyle and her left hip at that jaunty angle, as if demanding the heavens give her the answers she’s seeking. Her pose is determined, which fits Gwen because she is not one to just let the people she loves most make terrible mistakes. Nothing about this moment here on the cover feels passive, except for that beautiful moon: it’s tens of thousands miles away and seemingly as unreachable as Gwen’s desires. But that doesn’t mean she’ll give up trying to protect those she loves. She won’t—even if it costs her everything,” and all of that is something that she fell in love with.

This is a story where all the main characters are on a quest for something. Meissner commented that “At some point, I think we all wonder if there isn’t more to our existence than just a chance shot at life on an extraordinarily lucky planet in a universe of randomness. We wonder if there isn’t more beyond the known, more beyond the confines of what we can see. I hope readers enjoy the book just for its story, for sure, but I also hope the characters’ experiences will lead to conversations and ponderings about the question, “Is this all there is?”

Food Network is turning up the heat this summer with one of its most ambitious programming slates in recent memory.

The network announced Thursday, June 4 that it will launch three new series, debut a new Guy Fieri tournament, revive the Restaurant: Impossible franchise with a fresh twist and bring back one of its longest-running competition shows.

Leading the lineup is Pitmasters, a new barbecue competition hosted by Andrew Zimmern. The series premieres July 13 and pits some of the country's top pitmasters against one another in a grueling wilderness challenge where competitors cook around the clock while battling fatigue, the elements and live-fire cooking challenges.

"Food Network is expanding its summer slate with bold new originals and content designed to drive audience engagement," Food Network President Betsy Ayala said in a statement. "Paired with fresh takes on proven favorites, the lineup offers something for every viewer."

Before Pitmasters arrives, Guy Fieri will kick off the summer schedule with Guy's Grocery Games: Global Games on July 8. The five-part tournament features eight chefs specializing in cuisines from around the world competing for a $50,000 prize and championship trophy.

Also premiering July 8 is Kitchen Chaos, a new series that explores some of the internet's most outrageous food-related moments, viral cooking mishaps and culinary disasters, with chefs weighing in on what went wrong and how it could have been avoided.

Later in the month, Food Network will revisit one of its best-known brands with Restaurant Impossible: Last Call.

Premiering July 23, the series stars chef Aarón Sánchez and restaurateur Jen Agg as they help struggling restaurants navigate the realities of today's hospitality industry. The show marks the return of the Restaurant: Impossible franchise, which originally starred chef Robert Irvine and aired from 2011 to 2016 before returning from 2019 to 2023.

Food Network is also bringing back The Great Food Truck Race for its 19th season.

Hosted by Tyler Florence, the new season premieres July 26 and features both sweet and savory food trucks as the eight teams travel from Nashville through the Great Smoky Mountains competing for a $50,000 grand prize.

The network's third new series, Kitchen Undercover, will debut later this summer (date TBA). In addition to its television lineup, Food Network will continue expanding its digital offerings with new episodes of Gabe Bertaccini'sCook Like an Italian, Esther Choi'sCooking with Choi and the previously announced Guy's Feast Club on the network's YouTube channel.

All of the new and returning television series will stream the day after airing on HBO Max.

Even Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow found themselves breaking character on the set of Friends.

The two former co-stars, who played Rachel and Phoebe on the beloved NBCsitcom, cracked up as they recalled one of their funniest on-set moments for Variety's "Actors on Actors" series this week—including the time they broke out laughing during filming.

Kudrow remembered it being particularly hard to get through the Season 7 episode "The One With Joey's New Brain," especially when it came to the scene in which Ross (David Schwimmer) offers to play the bagpipes at the wedding of Monica (Courteney Cox) and Chandler (Matthew Perry),

"I did love, with all my heart, all of us cracking up, including me, when Ross is playing the bagpipes," Kudrow told Aniston, who agreed there was "nothing funnier" than when Phoebe adds her questionable vocals to the bagpipe serenade.

Kudrow admitted that she was "in tears" from laughing "so hard" at the moment—something she can now tell watching the episode back. "When I watch it," The Comeback star admitted, "I'm just like, 'Oh, I'm fully laughing!'"

While Aniston remembered their time on Friends as "such lightning in a bottle," Kudrow only recently watched the show for the first time since it aired. "I just couldn't sit there at home and have anybody walk by seeing me watching a show that I'm in," she told The Morning Show star. "Because it felt embarrassing to me."

Now that she has taken the walk down memory lane, however, Kudrow said she "loved it with all [her] heart," admitting that she even fell into the binge-watching habit with which many Friends fans are more than familiar.

"I’d end up sitting there for three hours, and then it’s like two in the morning: 'I need to go to bed! This is bad!'" she joked. "But, oh, it made me so happy to watch it. And, man, you’re all good. Holy cow!"

Calling all Scandal fans. You have just over six months to binge-watch all 124 episodes of the series before it leaves Netflix.

Yes, Shonda Rhimes’ best political thriller is set to leave the streaming giant on Dec. 17, 2026. This is despite it being one of viewers’ favorite shows, getting a strong second life on Netflix after it ended its run on ABC.

There isn’t a new streaming home set for it just yet, which isn’t surprising considering how long Netflix has had the licensing rights for it. However, there are some strong speculations considering it’s a Disney/ABC-owned series.

What’s On Netflix didn’t officially give the reason when announcing Scandal would be leaving Netflix, but there is one main reason for a third-party licensed show. It’s all to do with the contracts and the licensing agreements. As with the likes of Supernatural, Gossip Girl, and Seinfeld, the streamer only gets to make the content available on its platform for a set number of years.

That timeframe differs per show. While originally added in September 2014, Scandal was initially removed 10 years later. It then came back to Netflix in June 2025. It looks like the licensing deal was for 18 months, and that’s why it’s leaving in December 2026.

Disney hasn’t confirmed just yet, but it’s likely that the series will head to Disney+ and Hulu after its stint on Netflix. These two streaming platforms are owned by the giant that has the rights to the Kerry Washington-led series.

Scandal made waves in the land of TV when it first premiered on April 5, 2012. Washington became one of the first Black women to land a leading woman spot on broadcast TV, with a show that was smartly written, included flawed and intriguing characters, and proved it had the longevity needed to make a mark.

In fact, ABC didn’t even cancel the series. Rhimes wanted to make sure Olivia Pope had the ending she deserved, and she chose to end the series after seven wonderful seasons. Now is the time to catch up, rewatch, or even watch for the first time before Scandal is gone from Netflix.

A song that was once banned by South Africa's apartheid government has grown into one of the most remarkable success stories in rock music history.

Released in 1970, "Sugar Man" by Sixto Rodriguez was initially overlooked in the United States despite strong reviews and praise from music industry insiders. More than five decades later, the track is recognized around the world as a rock classic, thanks to its unexpected popularity in South Africa and a dramatic rediscovery that inspired the Oscar-winning documentary Searching for Sugar Man.

The song's journey from censorship to worldwide acclaim remains one of the most unusual stories in entertainment history. "Sugar Man" was written and recorded by Rodriguez in 1969 and released on his debut album Cold Fact in 1970.

During the 1970s, South Africa's apartheid government banned the song because of references to drugs in its lyrics. Reports from the period noted that some records were physically scratched so the track could not receive radio airplay.

Rather than disappearing, the song gained a devoted underground following. Imported copies of Cold Fact circulated among listeners, and Rodriguez's music became closely associated with young South Africans who opposed apartheid. His songs, known for addressing social issues and inequality, resonated with a generation searching for a voice during a difficult political era.

Remarkably, Rodriguez himself had no idea that he had become a cultural icon thousands of miles away.

While his music was achieving legendary status overseas, his albums failed commercially in the United States. After releasing Cold Fact in 1970 and Coming from Reality in 1971, Rodriguez left the music industry and returned to a modest life in Detroit, working construction and other jobs.

For years, fans in South Africa knew very little about Rodriguez. Rumors spread that he had died, and some stories even claimed he had taken his own life on stage.

The mystery remained unsolved until dedicated fans Stephen "Sugar" Segerman and Craig Bartholomew began investigating in the 1990s. Their search eventually revealed that Rodriguez was alive and living in Detroit.

The discovery led to an emotional reunion between the musician and his South African audience. Rodriguez traveled to the country and performed sold-out concerts before thousands of fans who had cherished his music for decades.

The story later became the subject of Searching for Sugar Man, the 2012 documentary directed by Malik Bendjelloul, per Reuters. The film introduced Rodriguez's extraordinary journey to audiences worldwide and won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature in 2013.

The documentary also brought renewed attention to "Sugar Man," helping the song reach new listeners across North America and Europe.

Rodriguez reflected on his early career struggles during interviews surrounding the film's release.

"I was ready for the world but I don't think the world was ready for me," he said, according to BBC.

His signature song continued finding new audiences through covers, samples and remixes. Rapper Nas sampled the track in "You're Da Man" in 2001. South African rock band Just Jinjer recorded a version of the song, while the Dave Matthews Band later performed it during concerts, including shows in South Africa.

In 2014, Australian artists Yolanda Be Cool and DCUP released a dance remix of "Sugar Man." The track reached No. 15 on Australia's ARIA chart and earned Platinum certification.

The song has also appeared in films, including Candy and Searching for Sugar Man, further expanding its reach.

Rodriguez's popularity surged after the documentary's release. He performed at major international festivals and received long-overdue recognition for music that had spent decades influencing listeners around the world.

The singer died in August 2023 at the age of 81, but his legacy continues through a catalog that overcame commercial failure, censorship and decades of obscurity.

On this day in 1982, the entertainment industry changed forever with the release ofStar Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.

The second official movie adaptation of the beloved Star Trek TV series, The Wrath of Khan also marked a major shift in the larger Star Trek landscape, helping the series gain renewed interest from viewers across the globe.

Tying directly into the continuity of The Original Series, The Wrath of Khan found Ricardo Montalban's vengeful tyrant targeting the former crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise, triggering an epic showdown between Captain Kirk's Starfleet personnel and the genetically modified criminal.

Compared to the first film in the franchise, The Wrath of Khan wound up earning incredibly positive reviews from fans and critics alike, with many describing it as a more faithful recreation of the original Star Trek TV series, right down to the return appearance of William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelley and Nichelle Nichols.

"The Wrath of Khan does something that movies based on television shows have tried to do, but have often failed to accomplish: the film elevates the material from TV to film with appropriate gravitas," said Deep Focus Review.

"Director Nicholas Meyer has made this Star Trek an intelligent and slam-bang thriller with a Saturday matinee serial air," opined the Bay Area Reporter.

As a result, many fans credit the movie for helping rebuild the Star Trek franchise, setting the stage for the franchise's numerous movies and TV series that followed in the film's wake.

26 years after she first appeared in the original Scary Movie, Faris says it’s a blessing to be back with the Wayans Brothers. Keenen Ivory Wayans directed the original Scary Movie and its first sequel, Scary Movie 2. His brothers, the dynamic duo Shawn and Marlon Wayans, co-wrote and starred in the first two films. This time around, all three brothers are on the writing team for this sixth installment of the beloved film franchise.

“To come back after all these years in this way has made me cry with gratitude. I hadn’t seen the Wayans brothers since the end of Scary Movie 2. All those years have passed, and I didn’t want to be one of those actors that never honored their roots,” Faris told Entertainment Weekly, adding that “when people recognize me, if they do, they usually smile. They usually think about something dumb I did. And Scary Movie has given me that gift, that I get to share in people’s joy.”

Country music star Ella Langley has reached a major career milestone after surpassing 30 million monthly listeners on Spotify, becoming the second-most streamed country singer on the platform behind Morgan Wallen.

The achievement comes during a breakout year for the 27-year-old singer-songwriter, whose hit single "Choosin' Texas" continues to dominate charts while her 2026 Dandelion Tour attracts fans across the United States.

Langley's rise has been fueled by the unprecedented success of "Choosin' Texas," which remains one of the biggest country songs of the year. The track has spent 26 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart and recently surpassed Morgan Wallen's "Last Night" to become the fifth-longest-running leader in the chart's history.

The song has also helped elevate Langley to new heights in streaming. As she crossed the 30-million-listener mark on Spotify, she solidified her position among country music's biggest names and one of the genre's fastest-rising stars.

The success of "Choosin' Texas" shows no signs of slowing down.

In addition to leading the Hot Country Songs chart, the single currently tops multiple Billboard rankings. It has also prevented several of Langley's own songs from reaching No. 1, including "Be Her" and her collaboration with Morgan Wallen, "I Can't Love You Anymore."

On Billboard's Digital Song Sales chart, "Choosin' Texas" once again held the top spot while "Be Her" climbed to No. 2. According to Luminate data, "Choosin' Texas" sold more than 8,600 copies during the latest tracking week, while "Be Her" recorded approximately 3,500 sales.

Langley currently occupies four positions inside the Digital Song Sales top 10. Her second album, Dandelion, has also become a major success story. Released in April, the project debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and features several fan favorites, including "Be Her," "Butterfly Season" and the record-breaking "Choosin' Texas."

Speaking recently about the album, Langley explained her creative vision.

"I wanted them to come back and learn a little bit about where I'm from," Langley told People.

The Alabama native noted that the project was carefully planned from the beginning.

"'Dandelion,' I had that song first, and I really went into every one of these writes with like, 'This is what this record is about. This is the sonic influence for this record,' " she explained.

The streaming milestone arrives while Langley is in the middle of her highly successful Dandelion Tour, which launched earlier this year.

The tour includes arena and amphitheater stops across the country and runs through August. Several dates have reportedly sold out, while resale demand has remained strong in multiple markets.

Beyond her own headlining shows, Langley is also supporting Wallen on select tour dates, exposing her music to even larger audiences.

Industry recognition has followed her commercial success. In recent months, Langley earned major victories at both the Academy of Country Music Awards and the American Music Awards. Her hit "Choosin' Texas" has become one of the defining country singles of 2026 and continues to gain momentum through streaming, radio airplay and digital sales.

No evidence of cancer is the best kind of news—but for Teddi Mellencamp, it still ended in tears at home, not margaritas out with friends.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum shared on her Two T’s in a Pod podcast that her stage 4 cancer diagnosis has already upended so much of her life, even in the wake of encouraging results.

“When you get a clear result that all of a sudden you're supposed to have all this energy and happiness and it's completely the opposite. You have rage and anger and all of these things,” Teddi told podcast cohost Tamra Judge. “So that's kind of what's taken towards me is like you think you're going to get the diagnosis that there's no visual signs of cancer and then all of a sudden you're going to be so grateful and you're going to be so happy."

She continued, "Then all of a sudden you're like, yeah, but not one f—king part of my life has changed. It's already changed my life. It has already ruined so many parts of my life. And yes, of course, I want to be grateful."

Tamra wondered how Teddi could turn things around, suggesting she might even write a book about her experience, but acknowledged Teddi will still have to undergo immunotherapy and feel like “s—,” as she did after an initial dire prognosis.

Teddi admitted, “I mean, of course, it feels so grateful. It's like, I mean, it's a miracle,” but added that “there's so much you expect from yourself,” as she worries about the impact treatment has had on her mentally and physically.

She also questioned why she didn’t feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude, something Tamra suggested may be fallout from the stress Teddi endured leading up to her scans. Teddi said part of it also reflects survivorship, noting she has been receiving DMs from others going through similar experiences.

“All of the women that keep getting sent into my Instagrams, like talking about the same thing, they're like, people think that you're gonna get this information and they forget that your whole entire world has changed,” Teddi said.

Tamra recounted how Teddi had a similar reaction after her first clear scan. Meanwhile, Teddi said she is trying to manage, but after a life of being so active and present, she admitted, “I feel like a waste of space.”
