If you’re hanging out at home, you likely decide what to wear solely based on comfort. Sure, you might not wear your decades-old sweats outside of the house (or hey, maybe you would—no shame!), but they’re your go-to uniform for days holed up on the couch.

Whether your household is a shoes-off home or not, most people have that one pair of shoes they keep by the door for all sorts of quick errands. A quick dog walk, taking out the trash, bringing groceries in from the car, walking to the mailbox…It can feel like too much work to spend the time lacing up your sneakers for a task that isn’t going to take very long.

What you wear on your feet isn’t that big of a deal if it’s for short stints like this, but podiatrists we talked to say that there’s one type of shoe that’s often worn for longer periods of time around the house, and that’s a problem. It can lead to all sorts of issues, including foot pain and balance problems. It can even affect your posture. Keep reading to find out what shoe podiatrists are begging people not to wear around the house, and what to wear instead.

If you spend any prolonged amount of time in flip-flops, even if it’s just around the house, podiatrists we talked to want you to stop. “Most flip-flops don’t attach to the foot well. The strap is too low on the foot, so the shoe comes off if you don’t grip it on. This can cause foot problems, tendinitis and overuse-type issues,” says Dr. Bob Baravarian, DPM, FACFAS, the director of foot and ankle services at Docs Health in Los Angeles, California.

On top of that, Dr. Baravarian says that since flip-flops don’t offer much support or have much structure, wearing them can cause excess stress on the bones and joints, increasing the risk of stress fracture or strain.

As Dr. Baravarian explained, each step in flip-flops requires gripping the shoe with your toes so that it doesn’t come off. Dr. Suzanne C. Fuchs, DPM, a podiatrist and foot and ankle surgeon at LuxePodiatry in Jupiter, Florida, says that, over time, this can affect one’s gait. In other words, wearing flip-flops can literally change the way you walk.

“Over time, it can contribute to fatigue and pain and may aggravate conditions such as plantar fasciitis, tendinitis, metatarsalgia or existing foot problems,” she tells Parade. 

Dr. Anne Sharkey, DPM, a podiatrist in Austin, Texas, adds that since flip-flops are loose and don’t hold the foot securely in place, they aren’t a stable shoe option. This is especially important for older adults to know since falls are the leading cause of injury-related hospitalizations and deaths in adults 65 and older.

“Because the foot can slip and slide around, or even off the sole, this creates an opportunity for a twisted or rolled ankle,” Dr. Sharkey says.

Wearing flip-flops can even affect your posture. Dr. Baravarian explains that constantly having to use your toes to keep your flip-flops on with every step can lead to walking in a way that puts strain on the ankles, knees, hips and lower back.

Dr. Fuchs agrees, explaining that feet are the foundation of the kinetic chain. “When footwear changes how your foot contacts the ground and how you walk, compensations can occur farther up the chain. Changes in foot and ankle mechanics can influence the knees, hips and overall alignment,” she tells Parade.

While this doesn’t mean flip-flops automatically cause poor posture, Dr. Fuchs says that wearing them regularly can contribute to a change in the way you walk, which negatively impacts the kinetic chain and, in turn, your posture.

The impact of wearing flip-flops on posture has been scientifically studied. Researchers found that wearing flip-flops impacts both stride length and ankle angle when walking. It causes a shorter stride length and a flatter foot-strike, which can then lead to the changes in the kinetic chain Dr. Fuchs and Dr. Baravarian previously mentioned.

All three podiatrists emphasize that flip-flops aren’t inherently bad; you just don’t want to make them your go-to shoe, even if it is just for relaxing around your house. Throwing on a pair of flip-flops to bring in the mail or groceries is fine, but if you wear them all day long at home, it’s time to consider another shoe choice. 

“An alternative is to wear a shoe with a stable sole, an upper that is better attached to the foot with a wider upper cover or a strap that is closer to the ankle than the toes,” Dr. Baravarian says. For example, Birkenstock sandals have a higher foot strap near the ankle on most of the sandals and better arch support—and they don’t require much time putting them on, just like flip-flops. 

If you still want to wear some sort of sandal, Dr. Sharkey suggests looking for one with a back strap. That will help keep your shoes on your feet without relying on your toes.

In general, Dr. Fuchs says that the best type of shoes to wear around the house are ones with a contoured footbed, adequate cushioning, built-in arch support and a stable sole.

Dr. Sharkey agrees.

“A contoured footbed helps to support the foot and evenly distribute pressure. Cushioning adds comfort and absorbs shock. A recessed heel cup helps to keep the shoe in place on the foot while walking,” she explains. However, she emphasizes that just because a shoe has padding doesn’t mean it offers support.

“Look for shoes that stay attached to the foot when you push off the floor while walking. If your heel comes off the ground and the shoe is still on the ground, you have to strain to hold that shoe attached to the foot, and that is not good,” Dr. Baravarian says.

Shoes aren’t just something between your feet and the floor; they play an important role in helping support your posture, prevent falls and protect from pain. If what you’re wearing around the house doesn’t do that, you’re better off barefoot.

There’s nothing like a Disney kiss scene, and The Little Mermaid co-director Ron Clements revealed the scenario involving Sebastian wasn’t made up.

In an exclusive for PEOPLE for his new memoir, Making Disney Magic…from a Mermaid to Moana, Clements revealed behind-the-scenes secrets for Disney’s biggest classics. Many grew up with butterflies watching Eric kiss Ariel in the dreamy boat scene. Of course, the kiss did happen with some nudging by Ariel’s loyal companion, Sebastian.

Clements revealed that Sebastian whispering in Eric’s ear to kiss Ariel wasn’t something that was made up for the film. In fact, it’s based on a real-life date scenario he experienced when going out for late-night dessert at Ships Coffee Shop in Los Angeles.

“While we were eating, a rather peculiar, stumpy little boy wandered up to our table and stared at us for an uncomfortable duration,” wrote Clements. “Then he leaned forward, leered slightly, and said in a hushed, gravelly voice, ‘Kiss her!’”

The director added that the child was relentless and kept saying, “Go on … kiss her… kiss her… Why don’t you just kiss her?!” After some time, the child left the couple alone and rejoined his family that were on the other side of the establishment.

“It was a curious incident and maybe not worth mentioning, except it did provide inspiration for the Kiss the Girl sequence,” he explained.

The awkward encounter didn’t stop the couple from going on a few more dates, but they did break things off later on. Clements says that “every once in a while there’s a moment where something in your real life connects to something else.” It just so happened that the one scene would inspire generations of fans and viewers, and it was all thanks to a “stumpy little boy.”

Clements also put to rest a long-running dispute fans have had about the Disney classic. For years, many have wondered why Ariel didn’t simply write a note to Eric explaining her situation. It was shown in the film that Ariel could write in English.

The co-director reveals that the English that fans saw was likely written in a mermaid language, but depicted as English for audiences to understand. The concept of a note to Eric was actually in one of the first treatments done for the film.

“Interestingly, in that treatment, she does try to write a letter to Eric and the witch keeps him from ever seeing it,” Clements explained to PEOPLE. “It actually existed at one point.”

Going with the concept of Ariel actually writing in a mermaid language, the note she wrote to Eric in the original treatment also wouldn’t have been legible to the prince.

Adrienne Barbeau has clearly found the fountain of youth. The actress, who turned 81 in June, recently appeared at the 59th Sitges Film Festival in Sitges, Catalonia, Spain, where she stunned with her ageless beauty while posing on the red carpet.

The actress posed wearing a black dress and matching necklace along with her signature oversized pink glasses, widely smiling for the camera at the event held at Melia Sitges Hotel in the Spanish city.

In one photo, Barbeau posed with Cuban actress Lilimar, one of her co-stars in the upcoming thriller Oddities, as well as screenwriter and director Tyler Savage.

In the past, Barbeau has spoken about her desire to age naturally without cosmetic procedures.

In an interview posted by The Original Van Gogh’s Ear Anthology, Barbeau once said she was inspired by an old 60 Minutes segment on French film icon Anouk Aimée.

“She must have been in her fifties at the time,” Barbeau shared. “Every line on her face screamed sensuality. I couldn’t take my eyes off her. That’s beauty – the self-acceptance she personified. Every time I see someone who’s mucked up their face with fillers or Botox or surgery, I cringe. Do they really think they look better than they did when they looked real?”

TV fans first met Barbeau in 1972 when she played Carol Traynor, the divorced single mom daughter of Maude Findlay (Bea Arthur) on the CBS sitcom Maude. After the show ended in 1978, Barbeau appeared in a series of sci-fi and horror films, including The Fog (1980), Creepshow (1982), and Swamp Thing (1982).

Barbeau was only 27 when she was cast by Norman Lear in Maude. Speaking with People magazine in October 2026, Barbeau recalled her breakout TV role after starring in the original Broadway production of Grease as Rizzo.

“What was really going through my mind was, ‘Oh my God, everybody else in this cast is so much more talented than I am,’ she recalled thinking at the time. “There’s so much more experience. They know what they’re doing.’ I was a nervous wreck.”

“It took me a couple of weeks to understand the medium,” Barbeau added. “I came from stage and I had just finished creating this character who was quite a ways away from me in many ways. She had a different talk. She had a different walk.”

Lori Loughlin appears to be embracing her bold new chapter by turning back the clock. On Wednesday, October 14, the Hallmark Channel actress posted photos from a red carpet reunion with her Full House family from the previous night. The comment section was flooded with fans and friends wowed by how young and “stunning” Loughlin looked.

Loughlin, 62, hit the red carpet in a body-hugging black gown with gold detailing, alongside Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin as their former co-star and dear friend John Stamos received the Bob Saget Legacy Award from the Scleroderma Research Foundation on October 13.

“I was surrounded by friends that I consider family, people I’ve known for decades who have been there for me through many phases of life,” Loughlin wrote in her Instagram post. “What a blessing to see how Bob continues to bring us all together. Bob, you are forever in our hearts. I love you.”

Loughlin, who’s been busy filming her return to Hallmark’s When Calls The Heart and her upcoming holiday movie, What If Christmas, included photos from the event as well as throwback pics of her with Saget, the patriarch of the Full House family who died in January 2022.

Comparing the photos, fans couldn’t believe how little Loughlin has changed over the years, with one commenting, “How does Aunt Becky look younger than when she was on Full house?”

Another wrote, “Literally thought this was one of ur daughters 😭😭😭”

Someone else marveled, “Can we just talk about how the cast from Full house has aged beautifully?!?!? I mean my God these are some beautiful people!”

Saget’s widow, Kelly Rizzo, gushed, “Truly, no one has ever looked more beautiful! But you are the most stunning human inside and out. and so grateful to you for always showing up for Bob for all of these years! Love you Lori! 🥹💙🥹💙🥹💙”

Loughlin may be glowing because she’s been focusing on the positive as she enters a new chapter, she told Parade earlier this month. In September, Loughlin filed for divorce from her husband of nearly three decades, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, and a month later, she launched her first fashion line via QVC, alongside best friend Laurie Felt.

“I will keep finding the silver lining,” she told Parade of navigating life’s twists and turns. “I will keep pushing forward. And I think what I found in this last year, which has been so great and, I think, allowed me to open up and really embrace the world, is I found a really nice inner peace. I feel really at peace.”

Loughlin’s first Hallmark Channel holiday movie in seven years, What If Christmas co-starring Tom Cavanagh, premieres on October 25 at 8 p.m. ET.

Apparently, Meredith missed the formal introductions earlier in the day because the unveiling of Grey Sloan’s controversial new VIP floor was thrown into chaos as doctors race to save lives after a collision at Sea-Tac sends a surge of critically injured patients to Grey Sloan’s trauma.

Dr. North offers to give Meredith a private tour, which Catherine says is a good idea, but Meredith isn’t really interested. Even so, Dr. North persists.  Watch the clip below:

“Most private hospitals in big cities have them,” Meredith says by way of explaining why she doesn’t need a tour.

“I love a pragmatist,” North responds.

“Excuse me, “ I have a patient,” she says, trying to escape.

But North persists, “I make an excellent tour guide. I’m here all day.”

Wolk is set to guest star on at least four episodes.

Even as Wolk joins the cast, Kevin McKidd (Owen Hunt) and Kim Raver (Teddy Altman) exited the series in the Season 22 finale.

“Can’t Get Used to Losing You” was an easy listening song released by Andy Williams in 1963. The song rose all the way to number two on the Billboard Hot 100, where it spent four weeks. It also rose to number one on the Cashbox charts.

The song is still popular to this day, partially thanks to Beyoncé, who sampled it on her iconic album, Lemonade. “Can’t Get Used to Losing You” was included in her hit song “Hold Up.” As Justin Krakoff told The Tufts Daily, “In addition to all these samples, Beyoncé worked with over 100 collaborators on the album, from songwriters to producers. Beyoncé… has never shied away from collaboration with other artists that have their own experiences to bring to the table, creating a balance between the personal and the collective in the music.”

Beyoncé wasn’t the only singer who enjoyed the song. Patti Page recorded her own version in 1963. The Beat also released a cover, which rose all the way to number three in the UK.

Many people were exposed to the song for the first time because of the covers, but there are fans who have known the song from the start as well. As one listener on YouTube said, “Something just magical about this piece. The chord changes, the backup voices, the violins building on the last verse… the structure of the song, it’s simply haunting.” Another simply said, “This is one of the greatest songs ever recorded.”

Williams recorded 43 albums throughout his career, releasing original songs and covers that are still popular to this day, like “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” “Days of Wine and Roses,” “The Hawaiian Wedding Song (Ke Kali Nei Au),” and “Moon River.” He was nominated for six different Grammy Awards. He also won three Emmy awards for hosting The Andy Williams Show.

Williams died in 2012 from bladder cancer. He was 84.

In 2006, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes tied the knot in a lavish ceremony at a castle in Italy, with a guest list that included some of the biggest names in Hollywood.

Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg was among them, attending the festivities with her then-boyfriend Jim Carrey. Now, 20 years later, McCarthy Wahlberg is revealing some bizarre details about what she witnessed during the wedding weekend.

During a new episode of The Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg Show, the host spoke with Anne Gollert Hill, who spent 20 years in Scientology, including time in its Sea Org, before leaving the organization.

“I have my own Scientology story,” McCarthy Wahlberg told Hill. “I went to Tom and Katie’s wedding.”

McCarthy Wahlberg said that at the rehearsal dinner, she and Carrey were seated directly across from Cruise and Holmes and their “immediate circle.” Holmes had given birth to daughter Suri earlier that year, and at one point, McCarthy Wahlberg saw a nanny bring the baby over to her mother.

McCarthy Wahlberg, who described herself as a “baby person,” approached Holmes with a simple question: Could she hold Suri?

That’s when things got strange.

“The entire party went like this,” McCarthy Wahlberg recalled, demonstrating that the room suddenly froze and then everyone’s head whipped around to stare at her. “It looked like Rosemary’s Baby.”

She said Holmes slowly handed Suri to her as the room went completely silent: “I got the Scientology stare. No one was speaking anymore. No one was talking.”

McCarthy Wahlberg remembered trying to interact normally with the baby while noticing everyone around her watching. As soon as she handed Suri back to Holmes, she said, the room returned to normal and conversations resumed.

“I thought to myself, OK, I am in the belly of the beast right now,” she recalled, to which Hill replied, “You sure were. Thank God you listened to your gut.”

Hill offered a possible explanation for the reaction, although she emphasized that what she described was only an unproven rumor that circulated among Scientologists at the time. According to Hill, there had been talk that Suri was “a very special baby” and could possibly be the child of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard.

“That wasn’t proven, but we used to talk about it,” Hill stressed.

McCarthy Wahlberg was stunned by the revelation—”No way!”—and joking that she had unknowingly been holding “a potential L. Ron Hubbard baby.”

“I’ve never been so scared in my life,” she said.

Hill’s comments aren’t the first time an extraordinary claim connecting Suri and Hubbard has surfaced publicly.

In his controversial 2008 book Tom Cruise: An Unauthorized Biography, author Andrew Morton claimed that Holmes had been impregnated with Hubbard’s frozen sperm. Coincidentally, he also made a reference to Rosemary’s Baby, writing, “Katie might have felt as if she were in the middle of a real-life version of the horror movie Rosemary’s Baby, in which an unsuspecting young woman is impregnated with the Devil’s child.”

Cruise’s representative vehemently denied the allegation at the time, calling the book “a vicious and false attack on a man, his religion and his family,” according to TV Guide. The representative also reportedly called Morton’s comparison of the alleged scenario to Rosemary’s Baby “disgusting and sick.”

But the interaction with baby Suri wasn’t McCarthy Wahlberg’s only memorable encounter during the wedding weekend.

She also recalled Cruise introducing her to Scientology leader David Miscavige, who served as his best man. When Cruise told her that Miscavige had been selected for the honor, she jokingly congratulated him by saying, “You got picked.”

“He did not like that,” McCarthy Wahlberg recalled of Miscavige’s reaction.

She added that Cruise had always been a “very nice human being” in her interactions with him, but described him as “very programmed.” She also recalled finding Miscavige’s presence intimidating.

At the wedding itself, McCarthy Wahlberg said Miscavige delivered a roughly 30-minute best-man speech about how Cruise and Holmes were going to become “the most important couple in the world.”

She recalled sitting near Will Smith and Jennifer Lopez as she watched the reactions around the room. While the Scientologists in attendance appeared focused on Miscavige, McCarthy Wahlberg said Holmes’ family seemed confused by portions of the speech. She also remembered watching Holmes “trying to smile her way through it.”

“The wedding, of course, was gorgeous,” she added.

But nearly two decades later, it is the far stranger moments surrounding the celebration that she still vividly remembers.

Samuel L. Jackson is ready to build a new criminal empire in Texas. The first trailer for Frisco King, the upcoming Tulsa King spinoff starring Jackson, has arrived, offering a glimpse of the actor’s return as gangster Russell Lee Washington Jr.

Paramount+ released the first footage from the crime drama on October 15. The series is scheduled to premiere on December 18 on the streaming service.

In the trailer, Jackson’s character brings his criminal experience to Frisco, Texas, where he discovers new opportunities beneath the polished exterior of suburban life. However, his efforts to establish himself in the area come with their own risks.

“You want a gangster,” Washington asks in the footage before demonstrating that his criminal reputation is no empty threat.

The series follows Washington as he assembles a crew of associates, including an ambitious protégé and a trusted driver, to turn small-time hustles into a larger operation. As his influence expands, he must navigate increasingly dangerous situations to protect his growing enterprise.

What Is ‘Frisco King’ About?

Frisco King continues the story of Washington, who was introduced during the third season of Tulsa King. In that series, the character was sent to kill Dwight Manfredi, played by Sylvester Stallone, but ultimately chose to help his old prison friend instead.

As previously reported by Parade, the spinoff was originally announced under the title NOLA King before its setting and name changed to Frisco, Texas.

Taylor Sheridan, the creator behind Tulsa King, is writing all eight episodes of the first season of Frisco King. Jackson and Stallone are also executive producers on the project.

The supporting cast includes Asa Germann, Kai Caster, Lilah Pate and Savanna Gann. Stallone will reprise his role as Dwight in a recurring capacity.

North West is clearing up misconceptions about her bold, edgy style.

In a video post to X, seemingly screen-recorded during a TikTok live alongside her mom, Kim Kardashian, the 13-year-old is defending her unique look.

West appeared rocking her bright blue hair, dark eye makeup, a hoodie with spikes on it, and multiple fake facial piercings

“I’m not demonic, guys. Stop saying I’m demonic. No, I’m not,” she said, per the reposted clip. “Just because I like to dress this way, don’t judge a book by its cover.”

Her 45-year-old mother was quick to defend West.

“Yeah, I feel like people say that because [of] the black grilliz and just, like, piercings and stuff,” Kardashian said.

“Yeah, but I don’t know why you guys should [associate] that with demonic cause I don’t get that,” the Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie star continued. “You guys know I’m not on that demon stuff. I believe in Jesus.”

Kardashian has spoken about supporting her daughter’s experimental style in the past. During a January appearance on her sister Khloé Kardashian‘s podcast, Khloé in Wonder Land, she opened up about her parenting style.

“I think like the one misconception that people might have is like, ‘Oh, she’s trying to be her bestie and lets her get away with a lot.’ Like, no. Northy actually has a lot of rules,” the Skims founder said. “The one area is I do let her express herself, and I do let her do that. I love her for that, and she would do it, you know, regardless.”

Kristen Wiig just joined Instagram, and fans have a lot of thoughts. As of mid-October, the former SNL star only had three posts, but they were enough to cause a serious stir.

Fans absolutely could not believe that the actress is actually on Instagram now. One Redditor cautioned her newest followers, “Watch out. There are recent instances of fake accounts popping up and getting verified while using entirely AI-generated images of a celebrity.” Another Reddit user replied, “It’s definitely her. She was tagged by some other celebs and Vanity Fair.” 

Even though she has the little blue checkmark next to her name, some Instagrammers still doubted the validity of her account, writing on a recent post, “How the heck can this icon of comedy only have 4.1k followers?” and “Still think it’s a fake account.” Others took a less cynical approach, writing, “FINALLY”, “You’re here! Instagram is complete now,” and “I waited for @kristenwiig on IG for years.”

But wait, whether her account is real or not isn’t the only thing everyone is talking about. Not only are fans questioning whether it’s really her account or AI, but they’re also unsure it even looks like her. In a post from Paris Fashion Week, Wiig shows off a dark auburn ‘do. One commenter asked, “Do people tell you that you look like Vera Farmiga now?” as others added, “Literally would have had no idea that was her if her name wasn’t listed”, “She looks incredible… whatever it is, she’s gorgeous,” and “No way that’s her!” 

The comments didn’t end there. More fans/critics jumped on the post, adding their take on her supposed new appearance. Comments ranged from “Unrecognizable” to “You look so different.” Another even tagged actress Vera Farmiga, with, “Your twin is here.”

Wiig’s new Instagram account is getting a workout. The Bridesmaids star also posted a now-viral clip of herself lip-syncing to Adéla’s “Nicole Kidman” with…Nicole Kidman. Pedro Pascal and Dua Lipa also get in on the action, making the video even better than fans could have imagined. One even mused, “I knew you only made this account so you could post this video.” 

Based on her first foray into Instagram, it seems like fans have a lot to look forward to from Wiig — or maybe, as her critics have said, Vera Farmiga. 

Pretty in Pink initially had a completely different ending, but Molly Ringwald isn’t mad about the final switch up.

The ’80s romcom, written by John Hughes and directed by Howard Deutch, originally concluded with Ringwald’s Andie Walsh choosing her best friend Philip F. “Duckie” Dale (Jon Cryer) over rich popular suitor Blane McDonnagh (Andrew McCarthy). The final sequence was fully shot but test screening audiences strongly opposed it, leading to the studio scrapping it for what viewers now see today: Blane apologizes to Andie at the prom and Duckie, who initially attended the dance with her, gave them his blessing.

Now, while speaking about her new partnership with Pfizer for its timely ‘Living Through It All’ campaign, Ringwald tells Parade: “I always thought she should have ended up with Blane.”

“It was set up as a Cinderella story. It was kind of a bummer that she didn’t [initially] end up with a guy that she wanted to be with,” the actress, 58, explains. “But when I look back on it now, you know, obviously, to me, Duckie is obviously gay.”

Although it’s now been 40 years since Andie got her Cinderella ending, Ringwald also has thoughts on where her former character currently stands with both Duckie and Blane. “I could say with almost 100% certainty there’s no way that she’s with Blane, but she’s still really good friends with Duckie,” she adds.

With so many popular teen ’80s films reaching milestone 40-year anniversary status in 2026, it has led the actress—who will soon appear in the fourth and final season of Yellowjackets—to thinking about the challenges that come with aging.

“We’re all over 50 and some of the people that were in those films are over 60. We’re Gen-Xers, and it is incredible how those films have aged, and they still have resonance for people that are younger,” she says. “I think it’s hard to imagine that we are at that age where we’re six times more likely to get pneumococcal pneumonia over the age of 50.”

That’s why Ringwald’s partnership with Pfizer for its ‘Living Through It All’ campaign resonates so deeply with her, as a busy actress and mother who cares immensely about her health. She hopes to encourage others to be proactive regarding their health by raising awareness to the infection/disease of pneumococcal pneumonia, which is a common but potentially serious bacterial lung disease that can surface at any point. It has lead to more than 1.2 million hospitalizations in the U.S. annually.

“It’s something that’s been around for a while, but I think what really hit home for me was my idol was Diane Keaton and she died from pneumonia. That really hit me hard,” she explains. “I’m a mother and a working actor and writer, and I’m always traveling. I really try to keep myself as healthy as possible for, for me and for my kids.”

“I really, really do want to encourage everybody who’s over 50 to go to [the] Vax Assist [website] just to see if they’re eligible for the vaccine, because it really can help prevent a serious illness,” she concludes.

Home Alone 2: Lost in New York took viewers across the Big Apple, including inside the Plaza Hotel in Midtown Manhattan.

Speaking of current events, the famed Plaza Hotel just announced it’s now closing for four years for a bit of a face-lift, as The New York Times puts it.

“For more than 119 years, The Plaza Hotel has been an enduring part of New York City’s architectural and cultural heritage,” the hotel’s operators, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, said in a news release this week. “Since opening its doors in 1907, the hotel has maintained a distinctive place in the city’s history, recognized for its architectural character, exceptional craftsmanship, and enduring presence.”

In effect, the hotel is now advancing plans for repair and restoration works to its landmark-protected façade.

“The scope and complexity of the façade works require detailed planning and coordination with relevant stakeholders, alongside adherence to applicable historic preservation requirements, Fairmont added in its Wednesday, October 14 announcement.

It’s been 10 years since Chick-fil-A added a new sauce to its lineup, but the wait is finally over. The chain just announced a spicy new condiment that’s putting a fiery twist on one of its most popular flavors.

Spicy Chick-fil-A Sauce takes everything fans love about the original, from its smoky tang to its subtle sweetness, and adds a kick of heat.

Chick-fil-A usually tests new menu items before rolling them out nationwide, which is why fans are still waiting for Spicy Chick-n-Strips to hit restaurants across the country. Luckily, they won’t have to wait long for the new sauce. 

Beginning November 16, fans can order Spicy Chick-fil-A Sauce at locations nationwide, where it’ll have a permanent spot on the menu. 

It’s a big moment for the chain’s condiments. Although Chick-fil-A Sauce is now a favorite for dipping nuggets and chicken strips, it wasn’t introduced until 2006, after Honey Mustard, Barbecue and Polynesian sauces. 

Since then, Chick-fil-A has built its lineup to include seven sauces. The most recent addition was Sweet & Spicy Sriracha Sauce, which debuted in 2016. Now, a decade later, the chain is finally adding another flavor.

According to Allison Duncan, Chick-fil-A’s director of menu and packaging, the goal was to give guests a new way to enjoy one of their favorite flavors. 

“We know our guests love bold, spicy flavors, and in our year of ‘newstalgia’, we’re turning up the heat on a classic,” Duncan said, adding that it “delivers an exciting kick to the signature flavor our guests know and love.” 

Customers can order the new sauce in dipping cups alongside any Chick-fil-A entrée or fries. The condiment will also be available in eight-ounce bottles for drive-thru and catering orders. 

However, there’s one downside for fans who want to keep some on hand at home. Chick-fil-A told Allrecipes that it doesn’t currently plan to sell Spicy Chick-fil-A Sauce in grocery stores, as it does with some of its other sauces. 

For now, you’ll have to pick it up directly from a restaurant.

For half a century, one voice has powered some of rock’s most enduring songs, from the snarl of “Barracuda” to the ache of “Alone.” Now, after a cancer fight that forced her band off the road, that voice is back and ready to drop a new album.

Ann Wilson, 76, said that Heart’s next album is finished. She said she had taken a vow to keep quiet about the record, then added, “But I can say that it’s done, and it’ll be out next year.” It would be the band’s first album of new material since 2016’s Beautiful Broken.

Her sister and bandmate, Nancy Wilson, said in August that recording was complete and that the album was largely cut live in Nashville with the musicians from their most recent tour. “It really feels like a Heart record,” Nancy said, adding that a world tour, a Heart documentary and a long-planned biopic are also in the works.

The news follows one of the hardest stretches of Ann Wilson’s life. In July 2024, Heart postponed the rest of its Royal Flush Tour after she revealed that surgery had removed something cancerous and that she would undergo preventive chemotherapy. Early in 2025, days before the band was due back on the road, she fell and injured her elbow, which had to be pinned with screws, and she performed seated rather than cancel.

She turned part of that ordeal into music. Consecrated Ground, her new album with her band Tripsitter, released Oct. 9, includes a song called “Bone Pain,” inspired by the constant aching she experienced as a side effect of treatment. Speaking to a concert crowd in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, on Oct. 2, she said the treatment felt worse than the illness itself, but that she is getting her strength back and feels good.

The record grew out of the same partnership that powered Heart’s return. Members of Tripsitter backed Ann and Nancy on the road, and that lineup played more than 100 concerts together between 2024 and 2026. Wilson called the years in which she wrote the album’s lyrics both exciting and “terrifying.”

She has also been telling her story on screen. Her documentary, Ann Wilson: In My Voice, played screenings in 10 cities earlier this year and gets a wider release Nov. 25. Wilson has said she wanted the film to let fans know her apart from Heart.

Heart released its debut album, Dreamboat Annie, in 1975, and the Wilson sisters were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013. Fifty-one years after that debut, the band behind “Magic Man” and “Crazy on You” is preparing to add to that catalog.

President Donald Trump has decided against livestreaming the upcoming execution of former Army Major Nidal Hasan, who was convicted of killing 13 people in the 2009 Fort Hood shooting in Texas.

In a social media post on Thursday, October 15, Trump said Hasan would still be executed by firing squad as scheduled on December 3, but the event would not be broadcast live. The decision reverses a plan announced by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth last week to make the execution available for the public to watch.

“I think streaming the execution for all to see might have been a strong deterrent for the World to witness how America deals with Terrorists and SCUM like Hasan,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “But, many very good and well meaning people would rather not watch him die, through streaming, or through any other visual device.”

The announcement comes after the proposed broadcast drew criticism from lawmakers, including Republicans, as well as religious leaders and other observers. Some raised concerns about turning a military execution into a public spectacle, while others questioned whether broadcasting the event could create propaganda for extremist groups.

Trump had previously said he would make the final decision on whether the execution would be livestreamed. On Oct. 10, he told reporters that there were arguments for and against broadcasting it, suggesting that a public showing might deter future attacks.

Vice President JD Vance also expressed reservations about the proposal, saying he would not watch the execution if it were broadcast. House Speaker Mike Johnson similarly acknowledged concerns among Republicans, including the possibility that footage could become a recruiting tool for terrorists.

“We’ve got to think through the policy implications of all that,” Johnson told CBS News. “I wouldn’t be watching it if it was aired.”

Hasan was convicted of carrying out the Nov. 5, 2009, shooting at Fort Hood, now known as Fort Cavazos, in Texas. He opened fire at a military medical facility, killing 13 people and injuring 32 others.

Hasan, an Army psychiatrist who held the rank of major, was sentenced to death in 2013. His execution is scheduled for Dec. 3 at Fort Hood, where the attack took place, and is set to be carried out by firing squad.

If it proceeds as scheduled, the execution would mark the first time the U.S. military has carried out a death sentence since 1961. .

Al Pacino is set to receive a major career tribute as he will be honored with SAG-AFTRA’s Life Achievement Award at the Actor Awards. This top tribute will be given to him on Feb. 28, 2027 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

This award is given to an actor who highlights “the finest ideals of the acting profession,” according to the union.

“Across film, television, and the stage, Pacino has captivated audiences with transformative performances, creating some of the most memorable characters in entertainment history and has profoundly influenced generations of actors and culture itself,” SAG-AFTRA said in a statement, per Variety.

Pacino’s legendary career has earned him numerous honors, including an Oscar for best actor for “Scent of a Woman,” as well as winning two Tony Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards, and two Actor Awards. He’s also received the AFI Life Achievement Award, the Golden Globes’ Cecil B. DeMille Award, a Kennedy Center Honor, and a Venice Career Golden Lion.

In a statement, Pacino called this new recognition an “honor.”

“I wondered and wandered most of my life but have always felt at home with a script and my fellow actors. It’s the work and the actors along the way that have been among the greatest joys of my life. It’s an honor to be recognized by SAG-AFTRA in celebrating the journey,” he said.

Along with his acting accomplishments, which include performances in The Godfather (1972), Serpico (1973), The Godfather Part II (1974), Dog Day Afternoon (1975), And Justice for All (1979), Scarface (1983), Glengarry Glen Ross (1992), The Insider (1999), Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019), and The Irishman (2019), Pacino is also known for his humanitarian work.

John McEnroe, the 1980s tennis legend and his wife, singer Patty Smyth, are bidding goodbye to their ultra-exclusive Paradise Cove enclave in Malibu after listing their estate for $35 million.

The 6,500-square-foot residence was acquired by the couple in 2015 for $21 million.

Dubbed “Billionaires’ Bluff” by local real estate agents because of its exceptional privacy and posh surroundings, the estate was originally built in the mid-1990s and designed by acclaimed architect Steven Ehrlich.

The retired tennis pro and the Scandal band frontwoman’s property sits on a prime 0.3-acre parcel overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

The four-bedroom, six-bathroom property features a contemporary vibe that reflects the area’s upscale coastal aesthetic.

McEnroe’s house boasts floor-to-ceiling windows that maximize the coastline views, an intimate library, a two-story fireplace in the main living space, an elevator and an outdoor area designed for relaxation.

Moreover, the Malibu beach house features an expansive oceanfront deck with a private Jacuzzi, private beach access and a tiki hut-style covered pavilion that McEnroe and Smyth used for workouts, along with a hot tub overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Despite listing the estate with Chris Cortazzo of Compass, the Hollywood couple isn’t leaving Malibu entirely. 

They plan to keep their ranch-style home in Paradise Cove, which they purchased in 2013 for $3.35 million, according to Robb Report.

The Grand Slam champion and his wife have built an impressive real estate portfolio since they married in 1997, demonstrating a keen eye for luxury properties.

In 2013, they sold their one-bedroom unit in Manhattan’s Upper West Side neighborhood of New York City for $3.1 million.

Before marrying Smyth, McEnroe was married to Academy Award-winning actress Tatum O’Neal, with whom he shares three children: two sons and a daughter.

McEnroe met Smyth, the lead singer of Scandal, in 1993 while he was still married to O’Neal.

Their divorce was finalized in 1994 and McEnroe married Smyth in 1997. 

Smyth initially had reservations about love and marriage.

“I did not believe in love or marriage,” she told AARP The Magazine, adding, “I wasn’t interested. I had a great life. I thought I might adopt a child because I only had Ruby and she kept telling me one wasn’t enough. There were no guys I liked. I was like, forget it, it’s not going to happen, and I was all right with that.”

McEnroe and Smyth welcomed their daughters, Anna and Ava, in 1995 and 1999, respectively, before marrying in 1997.

Together, they have a blended family of six children.

Jon Gosselin‘s wife, Stephanie Lebo is supporting her husband’s son, Collin, following the release of his memoir, where he made bombshell claims of abuse and manipulation from his mom, Kate.

“I’ve always known a lot, but reading it in such heartbreaking detail from a child’s perspective is incredibly difficult,” Lebo posted on her Instagram Story on Wednesday, along with a photo of Collin’s Us Weekly cover, referencing the Jon & Kate Plus 8 star’s allegations.

Lebo, who married Jon in 2025, continued, “It also makes so much more sense now. No child should ever have to endure that kind of pain or feel so alone, unwanted, and unloved. No child. Ever.”

Lebo’s comments come as Collin has been promoting his tell-all book, In the Shadow of 8, which details his growing up in front of TLC cameras that followed the chaotic life of his family, complete with his two older siblings, a set of twins Mady and Cara, born in 2000, and a set of sextuplets, which, along with Collin, included Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Leah, and Joel, born in 2004.

Collin’s book also consists of allegations of Kate’s abuse, according to the 22-year-old, which included her tying zip ties around his wrists and ankles and locking him in their basement.

The show aired from 2007-2009 and then from 2010-2017 as Kate Plus 8 following his parents’ divorce. Collin says he was a “danger” while cameras were up because he resisted filming.

“I was the only one out of my siblings who pushed back against filming, and that whole facade that my mom spent years building,” he told GMA in an interview this week. “I was a danger because I could have so easily dismantled that facade.”

Throughout this time, Kate has denied her son’s accusations, claiming he suffered from mental health disorders. After his book was announced over the summer, his mom said that his claims were “ridiculous,” per E! News.

This isn’t the first time Lebo has supported Collin, who has been vocal about the alleged mistreatment during his childhood for a few years now. Per People, she also supported Collin on social media over the summer by reposting a photo of him, writing, “Love seeing you live the life you always deserved.”

Week 6 of Dancing with the Stars is the most personal yet as the 10 remaining contestants will not only dance, but the dance will be a heartfelt performance honoring the influential people and places that have shaped their lives. Last year, the celebs were joined by family and friends on the dance floor for the first time, and that is the plan for this year as well.

Once again, the competition series will be co-hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough, with Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough resuming their seats at the judges’ desk as the couples continue the battle for the Len Goodman Mirror Ball Trophy. Special guest judge Kym Johnson returns to offer her expert insights. 

The evening will also feature a dance to “CATastrophe” by Hilary Duff from The Cat in the Hat, plus a dedication performance to Dolly Parton set to “Here You Come Again” by Dolly Parton and Willa Amai.

Additional pro and troupe routines will be performed to “Fever Dream” by Alex Warren and “Stay (If You Wanna Dance)” by Myles Smith.
