Rare Merle Cockapoo Puppy Is Almost Too Cute To Be Real in Adorable Video
There's nothing like seeing a little puppy having some splendor in the grass.
It's even more exciting when it is a rare merle Cockapoo puppy, as you don't see these little guys every day.
These puppies have the most exquisite marbled coats, and this one almost looks like he isn't even real, and viewers can't get enough.

♬ original sound - Daniela puppy 🐶Cockapoo puppies are sometimes referred to as Cockerpoos, Spoodles, or Cockerdoodles, but they are the same breed of dog, which is the result of breeding a Poodle and a Cocker Spaniel.
They're known for being very affectionate, intelligent, and easy-to-train dogs, and clearly, they are quite adorable as puppies.

Are Merle Cockapoos Rare?Cockapoos come in a variety of colors, including black, white, cream, apricot, tan, red, golden, and chocolate, and all of those colors can come in different shades.
However, the merle coat in Cockapoos is the rarest of all the colorings, as neither a purebred Cocker Spaniel nor a Poodle has this coat color.
It's acquired through the merle gene, which affects how color is distributed through a dog's fur, according to UK Pets.
It creates patches of light and dark fur throughout the coat, creating a marbled effect.
The merle gene is a semi-dominant mutation, which means that the puppy offspring of the Cocker Spaniel and the Poodle only needs to inherit this gene from one parent in order to have merle coloring.
The merle pattern is always random, which means no two merle Cockapoos are alike!
Two merle-patterned Cockapoos should not be bred together, though, because it can increase the risk for vision and hearing problems in the offspring.
There are different merle types of Cockapoos, including blue merle (with a base color of black), chocolate merle (with a base color of chocolate), and red merle (with a base of liver).
Based on that, it looks like we have a sweet little blue merle puppy here, living his best life.

Man Serenades a Hippo, and Its Reaction Leaves Everyone Speechless
Vantara is a wildlife rescue in the Jamnagar district of Gujarat, India. They recently invited Plumes, a musician and wildlife advocate known for traveling the world with his signature pink guitar and singing popular songs for animals to highlight their emotional sensitivity, to perform for one of their resident hippos. Nobody expected the animal to respond the way it did.
Watch as Plumes quietly strums his guitar and begins singing "Imagine." The moment the hippo hears the music, he becomes curious and quickly makes his way over, completely captivated by the impromptu performance. The remarkable encounter has viewers wondering whether the hippo was genuinely enjoying the music or simply fascinated by a sound he'd never heard before.
@plumesofficielHe was so curious 🥺❤️🩹 Thank you @VANTARA @Forrest Galante for having me 🫶 #animal #animals #hippo
♬ son original - PlumesWow! We're not sure if hippos enjoy live music, but this one sure seemed to! He looked so relaxed and even a bit happy. As commenter @Sam pointed out, "One of the scariest animals on the planet and you have him looking like an angel." @YouTube added, "Hippo approved!"
Another commenter made us laugh when they said, "I'm casting a doubtful eye on the structural integrity of that fence."

Can Wild Animals Respond to Music? We agreed with the commenter who wrote, "I love it so much that music is such a draw for all of us." Another viewer, @frankknowsbest, made an interesting point, asking, "Why don’t zoos and sanctuaries play music for animals? This guy has repeatedly proven that they all love and respond to it."
While there's limited evidence that wild animals enjoy human music the same way we do, many are naturally curious about unfamiliar sounds, which could explain why the hippo was so captivated by Plumes' performance.
Singer-songwriter Hannah Trigwell highlighted research by an animal psychologist at the University of Wisconsin–Madison who found that animals may actually prefer what's known as "species-specific music." She explains that this refers to music "specially designed using pitches, tones and tempos that are familiar to a particular animal's species."
Whether the hippo was appreciating the melody or simply investigating something new, we'll probably never know. But one thing's for sure: he was one very attentive audience member for this solo performance.
Meet Oscar Wilde, the World's Longest Dachshund
Dachshunds are already famous for their long bodies, but one remarkable pup has taken that signature look to a whole new level, leaving the internet doing a double take. Meet Oscar Wilde, a Dachshund whose extra-long length has earned him the unofficial title of the world's longest Dachshund.
While Guinness World Records doesn't currently have a category for the world's longest Dachshund, we're pretty sure Oscar would be the runaway winner if it did. Photos of the impossibly long pup are making the rounds on social media, and everybody is wondering if he can even reach the end of his own tail.
View this post on InstagramHow Everything Works shared more in the caption. "Thanks to his unique proportions and cleverly photographed angles, Oscar often looks impossibly stretched out, earning him the playful nickname of the “world’s longest wiener dog.” While he doesn’t officially hold that title, his photos have amazed millions of people online, with many doing a double take at just how long he appears."
Of course, some of the comments cracked us up. One viewer said, "Bro been doing one plank his whole life," and @bradford1872 added, "That core strength gotta be top notch LOL!"

Why Are Dachshunds So Long?According to Animal World, the average Dachshund measures about 16 to 17 inches long. Oscar, on the other hand, stretches nearly 3 feet from nose to tail. As the site points out, "That is longer than most toddlers are tall."
Animal World also shared a few fun details about the supersized pup. "Oscar's owner, Jennifer, says the internet has spent years debating whether he is an illusion or a record-shattering reality. But there is no camera trick here. He is a real dog with an extra helping of length.
"He sleeps in a bed that is more like a hallway. He takes up an entire sofa when he stretches out. And when he wants to go for a walk, the leash is basically a formality. He is long. He is lovable. And he is officially the longest wiener dog we have ever seen."
Whether or not Guinness World Records ever creates a category for the world's longest Dachshund, we have a feeling Oscar has already won the title that matters most: the internet's favorite extra-long wiener dog.
Woman Swears the Orange Cat She Adopted Is Actually a 'Fainting Goat'
Orange Cats already have a reputation for operating on their own mysterious software.
Morris, however, may be running the goat version.
When his mom adopted him, she didn't know exactly what was going on with his body. The vets who first saw him couldn't quite solve it either, which isn't exactly what you expect when you bring home a new cat. However, his new mom is a vet nurse at an animal shelter, so Morris chose wisely.
@sheltervetnurseA little fun fact - I actually didn’t know what Morris’ condition was when I adopted him as none of the vets could figure it out. So after I adopted him I took him to a specialist who also had never seen actually his condition in person before, but had heard of myotonia congenita (fainting goat syndrome). The condition isn’t painful, but he can experience sore muscles and cramping at times. And otherwise he has a normal life expectancy and has an amazing quality of life ❤️ Follow for more cute Morris content 🫶 #myotoniacongenita #faintinggoatcat
♬ original sound - Trine Lise FrostThen Morris jumped off the couch.
In the video, he hops down like any normal kitty would, except halfway through the landing, his body stiffens, and he seems to "faint" mid-move. It's startling for about a second, and then, once you know he's OK, it becomes one of the strangest and most fascinating little cat clips you'll ever see.
His new mom later took him to a specialist, who had heard of myotonia congenita, often compared to "fainting goat syndrome," but had never actually seen a cat with it in person. That alone tells you how unusual Morris is. Orange Cats are already rare in terms of logic, but Morris brought a documented medical mystery to the group project.
View this post on InstagramThe episodes, his mom explained in the post, tend to happen mostly after he has been resting for a bit. So one minute Morris is lounging like a tiny tangerine king, and the next, his muscles do something completely unexpected.
A comment summed up the absurdity perfectly by asking if this family somehow had both a fainting goat and a T. rex. I don't know what else is going on in that house, but Morris clearly has enough personality to count as at least two species.
The best part, though, is that Morris isn't suffering through these episodes the way the video might make people fear at first glance. His mom shared that the condition itself isn't painful, though he can deal with sore muscles or cramping at times. Otherwise, he has a normal life expectancy and a wonderful quality of life.
View this post on InstagramThat matters.
Because the internet loves a funny animal comparison, but Morris isn't just a punchline. He's a beloved cat whose person kept looking for answers, found someone who could help explain what was happening, and now understands how to support him.
Morris was adopted before there was a neat label for his condition. His mom didn't wait for him to be simple or perfectly understood. She chose him first, then figured out the rest.
View this post on Instagram What Is Fainting Goat Syndrome in Cats?“Fainting goat syndrome” is a common nickname people use for myotonia congenita, a rare muscle condition that can affect animals, including felines. It doesn’t mean the cat is choosing to faint. It means the muscles can stay contracted longer than they should after movement.
The Merck Veterinary Manual explains that myotonia congenita involves sustained muscle contraction after voluntary movement stops. Signs can look worse after rest, which fits what Morris’ mom noticed.
A few helpful things to know:
- Get a specialist involved. Rare movement episodes deserve veterinary guidance, especially if regular exams don’t give clear answers.
- Watch for patterns. Rest, cold, excitement, or certain movements may make symptoms more noticeable.
- Protect landing zones. Soft rugs, low furniture, and safer jumping spots can help reduce injury risk.
Morris may look like a fainting goat in an Orange Cat suit, but he’s also proof that a rare diagnosis doesn’t have to stop a pet from living a happy, loved life.

Senior Cat Spent Her Whole Life With One Person — Now She's Back at the Shelter After Losing Her
Senior cats have a harder time getting adopted than younger felines and kittens. Health issues and a shorter lifespan make potential pet parents hesitant to bring home an older cat, leaving these seniors to spend way too much time in a chaotic shelter.
Cleo is a senior cat who recently lost her longtime parent and is now at the NAWS Humane Society feeling lost and alone.
@franflightAlright cue the water works. This past week we have received SO many seniors with SO many sad stories in frankly feeling overwhelmed. Cleo was adopted from us when she was a kitten years ago, and her owner unexpectedly passed away. Animal control called us because her microchip had us still as a secondary contact. Being a senior, and extremely shy, Cleo will be overlooked in the shelter setting. Cleo does not like dogs, but could co exist with cats who respect her space. She didn’t previously live with other animals so a home with other pets needs to be experienced and willing to take things at her own pace. Feel free to message me with any questions, and if you are serious about adopting, please submit a cat adoption application at nawsus.org, the application is under the tab adoption center. Let’s get this special girl home. 😭🫂🤍 #adopt#adoptdontshop#cat#catsoftiktok#catadoption
♬ Stuff We Did - Michael GiacchinoThe TikTok from @franflight told Cleo's tragic story as a NAWS staff member cuddled with the pretty kitty to give her some comfort.
"Cleo's heartbreak is felt by all of us," the on-screen text shared. "She's 13 years old, and has lost the only family she has ever known."
After the death of Cleo's parent, the sweet feline was taken by animal control and brought to NAWS.
"Cleo's [parent] passed away unexpectedly," the story continued. "With no one left to care for her, animal control had to remove her from her home. She not only lost her favorite person, she lost every single constant in her life."
This wasn't Cleo's first time at NAWS. She was actually adopted from the shelter when she was just a kitten, and NAWS was still listed as a contact. The staff noted that her age and shy nature may cause her to be overlooked for adoption.
How to Make a Plan for Your Pet's FutureOur pets are family members who need to be cared for if we are no longer able, so proper planning ensures their safety. Some essential steps include:
- Designate a caregiver who can take your pet in your absence.
- Allocate a fund in the caregiver's name to pay for your pet's needs.
- Make sure the caregiver has all your pet's vital information, including veterinary contact, health records, allergy and medication details, food brands and amounts, exercise schedule, pet insurance policy, and any fears or anxieties that need to be addressed.
- Place "In Case of Emergency" signs on doors and windows in your home with the number of pets you have, along with the caregiver's contact information. Also carry a card in your wallet with these details.
Planning ahead for your pet equips them for a smoother transition if the unexpected happens.

Though there may be challenges, the NAWS staff is committed to helping Cleo get the second chance she deserves. The loving and gentle cat would do best in a home without dogs and could live with cats who respect her space.

Lioness Carries One Cub by the Scruff, and Viewers Are Convinced He's the Troublemaker
Classic Geo Adventures takes visitors on African safaris in Kenya, and during a recent outing, a group of tourists was treated to an unforgettable sighting. A lioness was leading her six cubs through Lake Nakuru, carrying one by the scruff in her mouth while the other five happily followed behind.
The rest of the cubs seemed perfectly content to stick close to Mom as she strolled right past the safari vehicle, leaving viewers joking that she looked at them as if to say, "There's always that one kid..." Whether she was keeping the cub from wandering off or simply giving him a lift, the adorable moment has the internet convinced they've identified the tired mom's little troublemaker.

♬ The Lions Sleeps Tonight - Original Artist Re-recording - The TokensTo say this video went viral would be an understatement. It has more than 41 million views, nearly 8 million likes, and over 44,000 comments. Probably because it was so relatable to parents everywhere!
@A pointed out, "We all know the one she's carrying is the naughty cub." @Consolata agreed, adding, " Trust me when I tell you that the one being carried is the one that gives her headaches. LOL!"

Why Lionesses Carry Their Cubs by the ScruffLionesses routinely carry young cubs by the loose skin on the back of the neck, known as the scruff, whenever they need to move them to a safer location or keep the pride together. While it may look uncomfortable to us, wildlife experts say it doesn't hurt the cubs. In fact, Kariega Game Reserve explains that the lion cubs "instinctively relax their muscles when they are being carried, which makes the transport process easier for them and their mother."
Londolozi Blog adds, "This is theorized to partly be a reflex action, but it may also be largely because the cub knows that to struggle while clamped between sharp teeth could be slightly detrimental to its health."
So while viewers had plenty of fun joking that this little one must have been the troublemaker, getting a lift by the scruff is actually a perfectly normal part of lion parenting.

Plus, for first-time swimmers, that handle can make introductions to water less stressful for everyone involved. The handle on the top also lets you react at a moment’s notice should your pup panic or need some additional help in the water.

Dog on Death Row Gives Rescuer Grateful 'Tippy Taps' in Final Hour
It's heartbreaking to think of the millions of amazing dogs sitting in shelters (often through no fault of their own), just hoping for the second chance they deserve. Even worse, many of the most loving, loyal pups end up on the worst possible list—unless someone steps up to save them.
Recently, a 7-year-old Staffordshire mix named Miller was mere minutes from saying goodbye. But thanks to the joint efforts of a few devoted earth angels, this perfect boy gets to know what real love feels like—and his happy tippy-tap dance will melt your heart!
View this post on InstagramEvery now and then, a rescue story comes along that tips the earth on its axis, and this is one of them. Miller was surrendered to the shelter by his family, through no fault of his own, and his presence captivated all who met him.
On Thursday, July 2, @cay9crusader noted that he saw a video of "Miller's gigantic head, tap dancing in his kennel begging for someone, anyone to notice him," with a timestamp 2 hours past the euthanasia deadline.
"Not again. Not another one I couldn't get to in time," he wrote. He hasn't yet recovered from losing another shelter dog he couldn't get to in time and needed a break from rescuing to grieve, adding, "My heart couldn't take another loss."
What he didn't know was how many people came together behind the scenes to keep Miller alive until someone could swoop in to save him.

He wrote: "I'm fostering Miller in honor of JJ, and every single one we couldn't get to in time. Their stories don't end at that shelter door. They live on in every dog we pull after them. We can't save them all, but we're going to try like hell to."

Rare English Bulldog-Pug Mix Is the Cutest 'Chonky' Potato
Bulldogs and Pugs are both very distinct breeds. While a Pug has those iconic bulging eyes and tightly curled tails, Bulldogs have that classic underbite and super stocky build. These two breeds do share some commonalities, including those adorable wrinkles on their face and pushed-in noses.
Chonky is a mix of these beautiful breeds, and he's definitely a head-turning charmer.
@coachmattfitnessComment the word “COACH” if you are ready to start your own transformation. What happens when an English Bulldog and a Pug have a baby? #doglover #englishbulldog #pug #doglife #cutedogs
♬ original sound - Coach Matt FitnessIn the TikTok from @coachmattfitness, the content creator welcomed viewers from sunny California and explained that he had "two shadows" ambushing his lunch break.
"Their names, if you can see them, are Arnold and Chonky," he said as the camera panned over to two dogs under a shade tree. "That is father and son."
Arnold, an English Bulldog, exuded the popular breed's classic qualities. Chonky, Arnold's son, is actually a Bull-Pug, half English Bulldog and half Pug. His name suited him perfectly.
"Chonky has the best attitude out of all the three dogs," the dog dad said, as he gave the crossbreed some gentle pets. "The Pug [Chonky's mom] lives with my daughter, Ali, and her name is Daisy."
Chonky boasted a beautiful brindle coat and had a body build like his father. His adorable eyes also seemed to take after his dad, appearing more subtle rather than the globe-like eyes of a Pug. His sweet and gentle nature reflected Chonky's heritage from both sides.
Chonky was quite social and loved being the center of attention while Arnold preferred to hang back on his own.
"Arnold just gives us side-eye," the TikTok creator commented. "He doesn't even give us full attention anymore."
How Rare Are Bull-Pugs?While English Bulldogs and Pugs are both popular breeds, Bull-Pugs can be a little more challenging to find for adoption. Yet this crossbreed is becoming more in demand due to their friendly and affectionate personality, making them an ideal family dog.
Bull-Pugs vary in size, typically weighing between 20 and 45 pounds. Whether they are lighter or heavier depends on which parent they take after more.

Since both breeds are brachycephalic (short-skulled), a Bull-Pug may be prone to breathing problems and should avoid extreme heat and rigorous exercise.
Chonky's charm makes it obvious why this hybrid is rising in popularity.

7-Week-Old Maine Coon Kitten Looks Like an Absolute Giant Next to an Older House Cat
Maine Coon kittens are not like other breeds of kitten at all. While other kittens might be small and sweet for a long time, Maine Coon kittens tend to get big quickly, and they don't stop. When you put one of these kittens beside a regular one... The difference is astonishing.
Just look at this video. When one woman found herself taking in a domestic kitten in a house full of Maine Coons, it was hard not to notice it. The difference is clear, and most importantly, absolutely precious:
@mossycottagemainecoonsOccasionally we raise orphaned domestics when the stars align just right, and the rescues in question are clear of any risks that may effect our own. Sometimes I forget I have real life comparisons like this when people ask… “are Maine Coons really that much bigger?” 7 week old Maine Coon vs an 8–9 week old domestic. Here is your answer. 🐾 #mainecoonlife #mainecoonlovers #rescueandbreedingcancoexist #allcatsmatter #sizecomparison
♬ Where'd All the Time Go? - Dr. DogMossy Cottage Maine Coons doesn't have domestic kittens often, though it definitely does happen. They take in orphaned kittens when they pop up: they've got plenty of moms to go around! The domestic kitten in this video is 8 or 9 weeks old, though next to a Maine Coon, she looks like a newborn.
This video is a little bit of a throwback, according to a comment left by MCMC, and this kitten is about a year old now. That means the Maine Coon is about the same age! I wish we could see how big he's gotten, too!

Though this 7-week-old kitten was pretty big, they do start out pretty tiny, too. After one Maine Coon mama recently gave birth, all of her pretty kittens fit so perfectly in a little basket:
@mossycottagemainecoonsLife has been a little quieter around here while we’ve been packing up our little cottage and preparing for our next adventure… but behind the scenes, these tiny paws have kept us smiling every single day. 🖤 Thank you for giving us the time to settle into this new chapter. We can’t wait to share more of our journey, our new home, and of course, all of these sweet little faces with you. Any litter theme suggestions for these little spuds are welcome 😉✨ #mainecoonsoftiktok #mainecoonlovers #mainecoonlife #mossycottagemainecoons #newbeginnings
♬ My Safe Place - Moderno PawThey're tiny right now, but you can bet that they won't stay tiny for very long. Once that first week or two passes, they start growing like weeds, and they don't stop for several years! It takes a Maine Coon about 4 years to reach full-grown!
Can Maine Coon and Regular Kittens Be Raised Together?Mossy Cottage Maine Coons takes in orphaned domestic kittens whenever they have the time and space to do so. When this happens, they're typically adopted out rather than sold, but they're hand-raised with just as much love and care as their Maine Coon kittens.

You can definitely raise Maine Coon kittens and regular kittens at the same time, though you'll want to take a few precautions. Maine Coon kittens are just so big! If you're raising them together, you should:
- Make sure to supervise when they're playing.
- Keep them separate for meals.
- Keep an eye out for bullying.
It can be easy for bigger kittens to gang up on the smaller ones, so it's important that you make sure everyone is safe. With enough care, though, it's definitely possible!

Rare Brown Kitten With Serious Medical Issues Faced Long Odds—Then Everything Changed
Coming into contact with a rescued rare brown kitten is already special, as out of 45 CFA-recognized cat breeds, only a handful are brown.
But this little, rare brown kitten is even more incredible considering the medical issues she had to overcome.
Her future looked quite uncertain after being found outside alone, and her rescuers weren't sure she would survive...
@thecatlounge_cccGingersnap has been adopted! Although she already has found her home we still wanted to show you her awesome coloring! Brown cats are very rare. While brown tabby patterns are common, a completely solid brown (chocolate or sable) coat requires a specific recessive gene inherited from both parents. Because the dominant black gene usually overrides it #southjersey #adoptdontshop #cats #nonprofit
♬ Cupid - Twin Ver. (FIFTY FIFTY) (Sped Up Version) - FIFTY FIFTYBut now this rare brown kitten named Gingersnap looks like a completely different cat, and a very healthy one at that!
The before-and-after is really quite remarkable!
How Rare Are Brown Cats?Viewers clearly can't get enough of her adorable looks, as we can see in the comments section.
"What a cutie!" one person wrote.
Another said, "A rare beauty!"
So the question is, how rare are brown cats?
According to Catster, brown cats are considered rather rare because in order to get that delicious chocolate coat, they need to inherit two recessive genes (one from each parent).
If they inherit only one copy, the kitten usually has black coloring, but is a carrier of the brown gene.
If the kitty has a more cinnamon color, this is even rarer because it means they have an additional recessive gene that's less common than the chocolate brown gene.

Why Special-Needs Kittens Can Thrive With the Right CareGingersnap was in rough shape when she was found, and it didn't look like she would make a full recovery.
She had major eye issues as well as upper respiratory problems.
That's a lot for a young kitten to take on!
But kittens are often resilient, and Gingersnap is no exception.
However, because she was found young and treated with the proper veterinary care, which consisted of a lot of eye medications and fluids as well as round-the-clock TLC, she is on the mend and looks like a young, healthy, and rare brown kitten.
She has also been adopted! Now that's a happy ending!

Cockatoo Whispers Since 'Everybody's Sleeping,' and It's the Cutest Thing
Birds, like the always-adorable Cockatoos of the world, spend a lot of time observing their humans and applying those lessons themselves. Their emotional intelligence and cognitive abilities have often been compared to those of human toddlers. One cute Cockatoo named Rooster is so smart that she knows how to quiet her voice when Dad says everyone's asleep, and it's too precious.

♬ original sound - Theodore SchoolsBird dad Theodore Schools hit the jackpot when it came to adopting a genius Cockatoo like Rooster. During a nighttime hang sesh, it only takes telling the intelligent bird, by whispering "everybody's sleeping," and she immediately hushes her voice. She's clearly learned the routine of the house (something all pets thrive on), and I'm sure anyone sleeping at the time thanks her!

It's not clear when this little lady joined the family, but her TikTok debut was posted in February 2026, and she happily showed off her spunky personality from the very beginning. Her favorite thing to do is chill with Dad, where she's practiced whistling, laughing, and getting the lay of the land like a boss.
There are a lot of cute Cockatoos on the web, and each one has a little special something to remember them by. Rooster is clearly a daddy's girl, and she's proud of it!

♬ original sound - Theodore Schools Cockatoos Are Smart Enough To Read the RoomAs one of the smartest species in the world, Cockatoos possess a high level of emotional intelligence, which translates to knowing how to "read the room." With impressive cognitive skills and the ability to understand body language, behavior, and feelings, it's no wonder Cockatoos have been compared to human toddlers—they're little feathered geniuses!
Being perceptive enough to pick up on human emotions is a longtime survival trait from those in the wild. Through observational learning, they know exactly when and how to get what they want. Sometimes that's acting out or ranting in an epic tantrum until they get your full attention, and other times, it's something as sugary-sweet as Rooster mirroring Dad's whisper.
You have to hand it to these cuties. Their comedic timing is unmatched, but when it comes to reading the room, the way Rooster does, they're the total companion package!

Little Shih-Tzu Puppy Is So Fluffy, She Looks Like a Giant Cotton Ball
There's nothing like meeting a tiny, adorable puppy of any breed.
But it helps when they are the fluffiest little Shih-Tzu puppy, looking exactly like a tiny cloud.
Viewers of this sweet video cannot get enough of this tiny little pup and how much she resembles a cotton ball.
Click here to watch the video.
It also helps that this puppy, who is just a little over 2 months old, is actually available at a pet store in Bridgeport, Connecticut, for the time being (at the time of this writing).
One viewer just wrote, "I want her."
Another said, "She is so cuteeeeee!"
"We named our Shih-Tzu 'Cotton' for that reason!!!!" one wrote.
A Shih-Tzu fan commented, "Shih-Tzus are quite literally some of the best dogs. Had them my whole life and still actively have two Shih-Tzu mixes. Someone needs to take this fluffball!!!"

Why Shih-Tzus Make Wonderful CompanionsSo we know that Shih-Tzus are adorable and can be quite fluffy and cloud-like pups, but do they make good companions?
The answer is a resounding yes!
Tracing their origins way back to ancient Tibet, they were specifically bred to be companions for Chinese royalty, according to Best Friends Pet Care.
Shih-Tzus were a crossbreed between Pekingese and other small Tibetan dogs, ensuring their petite size and lion-esque look.
Because they were pampered by emperors and empresses in the Ming and Qing dynasties, they got a bit of a diva, luxury-dog reputation, but they're actually very affectionate and loyal, and they make for great family dogs.
And they love to sit on laps!
If you're looking for a small dog—at most they reach 16 pounds and stand at 10.5 inches—who isn't too energetic, this may be the canine companion for you.
They are also considered very intelligent and receptive to training.
Shih-Tzus do tend to bark, making them good bark dogs, but they may be better suited to a house rather than an apartment.
And as we can see with this tiny cloud puppy, they have beautiful, fluffy coats that do require a fair amount of grooming.
Most experts recommend grooming them every six to eight weeks.

Bald Eagle vs. Great Blue Heron: Who Wins This Unexpected Showdown?
It's not every day you see a Bald Eagle and a Great Blue Heron having "words," but at Deer Harbor Marina on Orcas Island, Washington, that's exactly what seemed to happen.
With a Bald Eagle perched on the dock and a Great Blue Heron in the water below, the stage was set for an unlikely showdown. And while many people might assume the eagle would have the upper hand, that's not exactly how things played out.
Check it out in this Instagram shared by @deerharbormarina:
View this post on InstagramThese two looked like an old married couple in the middle of a disagreement. The eagle appeared perfectly content on the dock, but the heron seemed far less enthusiastic about sharing the waterfront.
Stretching out that impressive neck, the Great Blue Heron delivered several sharp pecks, causing the Bald Eagle to hop backward in surprise. There appeared to be a little more back-and-forth between the pair before the heron eventually paddled away. Not long afterward, the eagle took off in the opposite direction, seemingly deciding the argument wasn't worth continuing.

Viewers had plenty to say about the amusing encounter.
@sd_marc joked, "I've seen herons eat squirrels whole. That eagle was right to split."
Another viewer, @nicholas_von_ridiculous, added, "Now all we need is a peacock in the back."
Meanwhile, @like_traveling_up_a_river summed up the interaction perfectly, writing, "Bitey face! Avian edition."
And @lindalsteiner called it exactly what many viewers were thinking: "This is one of the coolest face-offs I've ever seen!"
Why Great Blue Herons Often Live Near Bald Eagles A Great Blue Heron wades in the water.Photo by Joshua J. Cotten on Unsplash
While Bald Eagles often get most of the attention for their power, Great Blue Herons are hardly pushovers. Thanks to their sharp, dagger-like bills, herons are known to defend themselves when they feel threatened, even against predators as large as eagles. Researchers with William & Mary's Center for Conservation Biology have documented through aerial surveys in the Chesapeake Bay region that herons often nest near eagle territory, gaining protection from other predators in the process. Their relationship, in other words, is far more complex than a simple predator-prey dynamic.

In this case, the heron seemed more than willing to stand their ground, and judging by the eagle's reaction, the majestic bird may have decided there were easier places to spend the afternoon.
‘German Shepherd Puppy’ Turns Out to Be an Incredibly Rare Mix
Buying a puppy is risky business, especially if you're not getting them directly from a credible breeder. Lots of puppies pop up for sale in less formal ways, like Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace, but you have to be careful with them. You just never know.
For example, one woman bought a "German Shepherd" puppy. According to whoever sold him to her, he was a purebred German Shepherd... But when he started growing up, they realized that might not be the case. Now, they know he's a mix:
@moonthegraywolfdogReplying to @Muad'Dib #wolfdog #dogsoftiktok #puppy #dog #puppytiktok
♬ original sound - MoonTheGraywolfdog🌙Moon the Gray Wolfdog is 6 years old now, and he has a very loving home. While a lot of people would have found out about his lineage and sent him off to live somewhere else, Moon's family has stuck by him through it all.
They found out for sure that he was part Gray Wolf shortly after they got him. They had a choice to make: rehome him, euthanize him (which happens to a lot of these dogs), or figure it out. They chose the third one, and now he's well-trained. He shows no food aggression, according to his dad, and they keep up with his training like it's nobody's business.
Related: Rare German Shepherd-Doodle Is Like a Fluffy Cinnamon Roll With Legs
Moon isn't an only dog, either: there's at least one actual German Shepherd living with them. They get along well, though they make sure they're separated for mealtime. Additionally, Moon spends a lot more time outside, which is crucial to keep these dogs from feeling cooped up:
@moonthegraywolfdogWinter is coming #got #wolfdog #dog #winteriscoming #dogsoftiktok
♬ som original - feperfeita - feperfeitaI'm glad they live somewhere with snow. I can't even imagine what it would be like if he were living in a place where it was warm year-round!
Why You Should Not Get a WolfdogMoon's dad went into having him with no idea that he was part wolf. Everything after that was simply a response, and that's why it's risky to buy dogs: people lie. You won't know until it's too late. For Moon, it worked out fine, but most Wolfdogs are not so lucky.
Cavan Images / Getty Images
Wolfdogs are gorgeous and can be very good dogs, but they require very experienced and dedicated caretakers looking after them. They need space to run, time to be outside, and a parent who will keep up with their training all day, every day. Without that, they can become:
- Reactive to people or dogs.
- Aggressive.
- Food-aggressive.
- Destructive.
Many Wolfdogs are euthanized while they're young: people don't know they have them, and then they surrender them, only for them to be deemed "unadoptable," and subsequently euthanized. If you're thinking about getting a Wolfdog, speak to someone who actually has one first!
