The TikTok from @peggyadamsarl showed the pretty kitty in her kennel. Michelle was missing one eye, and the other eye appeared smaller than average.

The feline fur baby was absolutely adorable, yet she had very few adoption applications while at the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League. The social media post explained the conditions affecting her eyes.

"Michelle has been ignored because of her looks," the caption explained. Michelle had two recent procedures to relieve the discomfort she was experiencing and help her vision.

"Thankfully, we were able to send Michelle to an eye specialist for two surgeries: removal of her right eye, which was covered by a corneal ulcer, and cryosurgery to mediate eyelid agenesis in her left eye," the story continued. "Now, Michelle feels so much better! She still has her vision and is happier than ever."

Michelle's appearance seemed to make potential adopters hesitant, so the kitten had to wait in her kennel as she watched her fellow shelter kitties get their forever homes. Fortunately, someone saw how truly beautiful this kitten is inside and out and took her home.

How To Safely Introduce Dogs to Kittens

One commenter pointed out that this pet parent got very lucky that the dogs were so sweet and chill while meeting this new kitten.

The kitten was also fairly relaxed when meeting three large dogs.

Interactions don't always go that smoothly between dogs and kittens, so here are a few tips to help you make this introduction between pets just a little easier.

First of all, take it slow and be patient.

Some pets won't become best friends overnight, and that's OK.

Ensure that all the pets have their own safe spaces to retreat to.

This means separate feeding and resting areas, and in the case of kittens, a space for their litter box.

Introduce each pet to the other's bedding or toys so they can smell them and become familiar with them, but still feel safe in their own space.

Piebald dapple Dachshunds have two separate coat patterns combined together. The piebald gene creates white areas on the coat while the dapple pattern produces marbled or mottled markings.

The combination is less common than traditional Dachshund colors and can create truly unique appearances, which is why no two piebald dapple Dachshunds look exactly alike.

Puppy fur is my favorite fur in the world. While sleek, shiny adult coats are elegant and beautiful, there's something so special about the puppy fur. It's so soft and fluffy, and although their coats aren't fully formed yet, it doesn't even matter. I wish dogs could keep their puppy coat forever!

Just look at these Saint Bernard puppies. There are so many of them, and they look so fluffy it's almost unfair. Plus, with their black and white puppy coats, it makes them all kind of look like Snoopy from the Peanuts cartoons:

The Northwood Saint Bernards are some of the cutest Saint Bernards I have ever seen in my life! I've never seen Saint Bernards that didn't have some brown fur, too: that will likely come in stronger as they age, but until then, they all look like sweet, fluffy Snoopys to me.

Snoopy himself is actually a Beagle: he was based on the author's childhood Beagle, whose name was Spike. As a Beagle, Snoopy looks a little off: he's supposed to be tri-colored, too! But he was a print character first: Peanuts was a black-and-white comic strip. By the time recoloring him was an option, he'd become too iconic to change!

I grew up in a heavy Snoopy house, if you couldn't tell, but back to these adorable Saint Bernard puppies! Their legs are so little. I can't handle it. I love that there's a parent there supervising, too: you can see their mom behind the gate. If they get in trouble, I bet she's not afraid to raise her voice!

Saint Bernard puppies typically reach full-grown between 18-24 months. While they'll be about as big as they're going to get by the time they're around a year old, it takes several months for their adult coats to fully fill in, and they'll continue to gain weight during that time.

Eventually, they won't look like little baby Snoopys anymore. That's a little sad, but I'm sure they'll be beautiful!

The heartbreaking finale of Romeo and Juliet isn’t supposed to get laughs, but one unexpected cast member had other plans. Both of my dogs have short-haired coats so I don't need to take them to the groomer. A simple brushing every now and then takes care of my senior Dachshund. German Shepherds are known for their intelligence, loyalty, and unwavering dedication to the people they love. Those qualities are often even stronger in working dogs, especially ones who have spent years serving alongside the same handler.

That’s what makes this meeting between two retired military working dogs so special.

German Shepherd Dorka spent years working alongside her dad, Monte, during deployments in Afghanistan. Although Dorka retired four years ago, Monte continued his work overseas with another German Shepherd partner, Mane. Now, after Mane’s own retirement, Monte officially adopted her too.

Routine Is a Rescue Dog's Best Friend

Koda's new dad was not worried about loving her. He wanted to know how to help her feel safe.

The advice he got from other pet parents was specific, and one answer kept coming up. Almost every reply mentioned consistency and a daily schedule.

One commenter wrote, "routine, routine, routine. Dobies are wonderful pets when they have a routine and feel part of the family. Just show her leadership, especially if she is timid, and avoid public dog parks."

Another mentioned an interesting tip: keep a running dialogue in the first three to six weeks. Talk to the dog directly before getting up from the couch. Ask the dog loudly if they want to come along. This gives the dog a heads-up that something is about to happen.

The 3-3-3 Rule We Keep Coming Back To

Several commenters pointed to something rescue advocates swear by: the 3-3-3 rule. In simple terms, dogs need three days to decompress, three weeks to learn routines and build trust, and three months to settle into their new life and let their personality come out.

Every dog is different. But most of the time, the 3-3-3 rule works with shelter animals. Parade Pets recently covered a rescue German shepherd whose adjustment followed the 3-3-3 rule almost exactly, from a rocky start and slow progress to a dog who now sits calmly on the trail while other dogs bark around her.

If this celebration is any indication of what's ahead, Boone's second birthday is going to be pretty hard to beat.

Parents try to give their kids time to learn new skills and adopt a patient attitude when mistakes are made. However, there comes a point when a conversation needs to take place if the child continues to ignore instructions.

The same rule applies to our fur babies. Junie is a rescue Beagle that was recently saved from Ridglan Farms, a breeding and research facility in Wisconsin. The precious pooch is living in a loving home for the first time in her life and having some challenges when it comes to doing her business.

In the TikTok from @tlcwithmsb, Junie's foster mom held the canine cutie as she prepared to have a heart-to-heart conversation about a delicate issue.

"We've gotta have a talk, okay?" her mom said as Junie looked off to the side. "Listen, when you need to go potty, you gotta go outside. Especially when the door is open and I'm right there."

Junie stared straight ahead and seemed to zone out. The Beagle beauty either opted for selective hearing or just focused on other things, like birds and squirrels. Her mom could tell Junie wasn't listening so she tried again to get her attention.

Junie Knows How to Use the Door

Some viewers of the video may assume that Junie can't get outside fast enough to relieve herself, but that isn't the case. Apparently, Junie is totally capable of going in and out the door by herself and shows this skill often when she sees a squirrel outside or follows her fur baby sisters. Her mom prompted her to do the same when she needs a bathroom break. Still, Junie seemed to turn a deaf ear to her mom's words.

"I know it's confusing because we spend so much time outside," her mom remarked. "But you don't come inside to go potty. The potty is outside."

Though Junie's eyes still looked a bit glazed over, her mom gave her some words of encouragement to motivate her.

What to Do If You Find a Baby Moose

Finding a baby moose, especially if they're in your yard or in another patch of grass somewhere, is not like finding puppies or kittens. Puppies and kittens need help right away, but in almost all cases, a baby moose does not need to be touched. Usually, their mama left them there.

Moose will often leave their calves in safe places in the morning. From there, they'll go out to forage, and later in the day, they'll come back to collect their baby. They typically don't go very far away from the stash spot, either: they're closer than you think. If you spot a moose calf alone, you should:

• Take note of the surroundings/whether they're in a safe spot.
• Check to see if they're bleeding (from afar).
• If they're not bleeding and they're in a safe spot, make note of the time you saw them.
• If you go back later/the next day and they're not there, it's safe to assume they're fine.

You never, ever want to approach a moose calf on your own. You might not see Mama right away, but odds are, she saw you, and you could find yourself in a world of trouble. Luckily, everyone in this video was totally safe!
