'Selling Sunset' Fans Shocked Over Mass Firings and Christine Quinn’s Return: ‘How Did Jason Let His BFF/Soulmate Get Fired?’

Wed, 05/20/2026 - 7:56am

The Oppenheim Group just lost half its cast. In an abrupt casting sweep right before production begins, Netflix cleaned house on Selling Sunset.

Emma Hernan, Mary Bonnet, Chelsea Lazkani, Alanna Gold, and Sandra Vergara (the sister of Sofia Vergara) have all been fired from the reality series, the Daily Mail confirmed.

Insiders state the axe came down on the cast members in April. Filming starts in a couple of weeks, according to TMZ. But the office isn't empty. A source told the Daily Mail that Bre Tiesi, Christine Quinn, Amanza Smith, and Heather Rae El Moussa are returning for the new season. In other words, production team completely removed the alliance that spent the last few seasons locked in opposition against Tiesi.

The decision regarding Bonnet is the biggest surprise for viewers. She has been a fixture of the series since the pilot, and her personal history with agency owner Jason Oppenheim ran deep.

Viewers immediately hit Reddit to dissect how the agency leader lost her spot on the call sheet. “I can’t believe they fired Mary?! Like she is so close to Jason, I wonder what happened,” one fan wrote.

“I’m so shocked at this overhaul. Getting rid of Mary is truly surprising, I never imagined Jason allowing that to happen. But she did make herself look so bad, maybe producers decided there was no chance of recovery,” admitted another viewer. “It also kind of seems like they just wiped out everyone who had beef with each other. But bringing Christine back who already fell out with literally everyone including Heather makes no sense to me.”

The mass termination could be tied to Quinn’s return, some fans believe. She exited the show after major fallouts with nearly every coworker. One viewer broke down the strategy on Reddit, connecting the dots between the departures and the return of the show's original antagonist: “WOW!!!! Mary not being on the show anymore is absolutely insane like how did Jason let his BFF/soulmate get fired??? 💀 I definitely thought Mary was in the clear after I figured Chelsea wasn’t coming back 💀." The comment continues, "Emma also getting axed is wild to me because she just became close to everyone else after Chrishell dumped her LMAO but my guess is that Mary and Emma’s departures have to do with Christine’s return? Maybe they didn’t want to film with her/vice versa and Netflix chose Christine over them.“

Netflix is also looking down the coast for reinforcements. Sources have named another woman who is allegedly in talks to join the cast of Selling Sunset - Alex Hall, one of the stars of the spin-off series Selling the OC, which is currently on hiatus, according to TMZ.

Keke Palmer on Life at Home With Son Leo & Her New Movie 'I Love Boosters'

Wed, 05/20/2026 - 7:30am

When you’re busy and in-demand, every minute in the day must be managed to perfection. This explains why Keke Palmer begins her exclusive Parade cover story interview by declaring, “I’m going to keep my answers short and concise!”

Then, the star born Lauren Palmer shows how she uses that nickname to her advantage. A social chatterbox in the best of ways, she has a lot to say about, well, everything. Her 20-year-and-counting career. Her big, boisterous, twin-filled family. Being a proud boy mom to 3-year-old son, Leo (with ex Darius Jackson).

Let’s start with her new movie. I Love Boosters premiered in March at SXSW and hits theaters on Friday, May 22. In the upcoming comedy, Palmer plays Corvette, the leader of a female shoplifting crew that targets stores owned by an obnoxious and ruthless fashion mogul (Demi Moore). Sure, the operation is illegal; they still deem it as community service. But beyond the “fun, wild ride” is a relevant message. “They’re trying to find their value in the world and chase their dreams,” she tells Parade. “They discover that success maybe isn’t always what it seems. It’s about consumerism and capitalism and what it means to be working in this world.”

Palmer herself has been making it work since she was all of 12 years old and spelling her heart out in 2006’s acclaimed hit Akeelah and the Bee. At the time, Palmer and her family (she’s one of four kids) were just a few years removed from uprooting from their native Illinois to Los Angeles so she could live out her showbiz aspirations. She flourished in a hurry.

With her bursting-off-the-screen charisma and infectious positive energy to match, Palmer became a Millennial fave thanks to her role as a fashion prodigy on Nickelodeon’sTrue Jackson, VP from 2008-11. When the show ended, she seamlessly pivoted to adult roles and has stolen scenes in everything from Scream Queens and Hustlers to One of Them Days and Nope. In 2027, she’ll appear in the much-anticipated sequel Spaceballs: The New One.

And that’s just her acting highlight reel. Palmer, 32, also shines as an R&B singer/songwriter, podcaster (Baby, This Is Keke Palmer), Emmy-winning Password host (the new season starts June 2), queen of viral content—who else would dare to sing a riff from “Defying Gravity” directly toCynthia Erivo?—all while being unapologetically herself. Yet Palmer knows she still has work to do: “I’m still trying to build a brand and find a voice through my artistry. That’s very challenging.”

Zooming in from Los Angeles, Palmer has a kiki with Parade.

Dalvin Adams

Parade: Other than the whole shoplifting thing, do you have a lot in common with Corvette? She’s very ambitious.

Keke Palmer: I relate to Corvette so much. I think Corvette is what we're thinking about when it comes to the influencer economy. She is very representative of what the generation is going through, which is trying to be their own boss, trying to create their own thing, and then finding themselves asking the question of, wait a minute, “Can I be a good person and be as successful as I want to be? Like, what does that look like? How does my drive or my ambition relate to those around me?”

Do you ask yourself those questions a lot?

Always. And I always see so many of my friends asking themselves that. There's no blueprint for how you do it the right way. We just have all of these ideas of what we think it looks like that sometimes seems like not the way to go about it. A lot of people will be able to relate to what she is struggling with.

On some level, Corvette is a grown-up version of True Jackson. When you think back on that era, what immediately comes to mind?

It was one of the most incredible, unique and special times in my life. I was experiencing so many grand versions of firsts, you know what I mean? I grew up thinking I would love to be like Raven-Symone. It was so cool to have my own show. And then there was also a very difficult reality of what it means to be a star of your own show, and have that level of a workload. There was so much that came with fame; it changed my life.

During True Jackson, VP, Keke Palmer won Outstanding Performance in a Youth/Children's Program four times in a row at the NAACP Image Awards.

Is there a specific moment that stands out, positive or otherwise?

I don’t know if one stands out. I always have loved multi-camera sitcoms. I really loved working on that show and the vibe of coming to set and rehearsing and then having a big show on Friday, and having friends and family in the audience. There was a live theater element. I hope and wish that one day I can do another sitcom with the live studio audience again. I think that’s one of the reasons why I love hosting Password so much. I love being with people.

Miley Cyrus just revisited Hannah Montana; would you be interested in a True Jackson, VP revival?

Oh yeah. I'm one of those people that started acting as a kid that really still loves my kid work. Not everything I can revisit because maybe there's not a story there—but in terms of looking back, I have no shame.

What do you think True is up to these days?

She’s probably the head of Mad Style. She is curating spaces, and she's being just the boss like she really became. She understands what she gave up in her years of being focused as a career woman and building this legacy for herself, so she's now dealing with having to go back and understand the spaces in which she was not cultivating—whether that's love or friendships or just things that started to run when you’re out there chasing your dream and being ambitious. She’s going to revisit that part of herself that she kept deferring.

Your former co-star, Jennette McCurdy, has really made a new career for herself because of I’m Glad My Mom Died. . .

That's my girl, Jennette. I'm so proud of her and the writer that she has become. This is who she's always been. But now the world is getting a chance to see her, and she’s continuing to evolve.

Given all the turmoil that went on behind the scenes at Nickelodeon, would you be open to your son following in your footsteps? Or would it scare you off?

It wouldn’t scare me off. I am holding firm on being able to pass down what I've learned as a child entertainer. Being somebody that has been able to come out on the other side of it, I feel like I see things clearly, but I still want to be able to share that. So if I could share that with my son, that would be amazing. If I share that with somebody that's not related to me, that's amazing. But I don't believe that we should steer away from things that have a risk. I think we should actually supply people with the tools to understand how to navigate that risk, especially in a creator economy.

So, what advice would you give him?

I would be very, very clear on what it means to say yes to something and carry through — whether it's acting or sports or anything, he’s going to have to commit himself. I had a lot of pressure on me as a kid, and I feel very proud to understand what it meant to start something and finish something. I think it made adulthood easier for me in many ways because I knew how to accomplish goals.

Which movie in your catalog are you most excited for him to see?

I really want him to get into the cartoons—I’d love for him to see Ice Age and Lightyear. He did see Under the Boardwalk and he got into that one a little because it’s a musical. As far as live action, I can't wait till we can watch Jump In together. It’s the Disney Channel movie that I did with Corbin Bleu back in the day [2007]. I tried to put on Jump In one time, but he was so uninterested in it. But, I mean, he's only three. Why would I think that he would watch that?!

You could also show him the 2022 episode of Saturday Night Live when you hosted and revealed your baby bump! What was going through your mind when you did that?

SNL called. I'm pregnant. But I was like, “Well, shit, let me do it with the baby.” You have a lot of confidence when you're pregnant. I had nerves and I had weirdness, but I also had this immense feeling that I could do whatever I wanted. So I was excited to have the opportunity. I always wanted to do SNL and I’m a big fan of that show's legacy. And I love the live studio audience vibe; if you mess up, you really almost might even make the sketch better. So I decided to go for it. It was so crazy—I just remember rolling around on the ground during a sketch even though I was full-blown pregnant! Maybe it's a Virgo thing because Amy Poehler did it when she was pregnant, too [in 2008].

What’s the best part about being a boy mom?

Oh my gosh. Well, it's so cool to see my personality reflected through him. There’s nothing better than seeing how his character develops. For me, he has a lot of boundaries. He tells me all the time, “No more kisses.” Earlier today, I was like, “Give me a hug before you go to school.” He was like, “No, no, no.” And I pick him up and I hug him, and he starts counting. Because when he's in trouble, I start counting with him, like, I'll be like, “1,2,3.” So I picked him up to hold him, and he counted until I put him down. It's just so cute to just see him feeling free to define his character and his personality. I did think he was really unique because he was so into cars and trucks, but apparently that's all the boy DNA.

Your mom is a twin, your dad is a twin and two of your siblings, Lawrence and Lawrencia, are twins. What was it like growing up in twinville?

People overdo it with twins. I feel like twins are chill. They’re not always thinking about the fact that they're twins—they don't know anything outside of being twins. Or they go through periods of being really close, too close, and then they can be the hardest with each other. My dad’s twin brother and him were as thick as thieves. He just passed away, rest in peace.

You never felt excluded?

I've always wanted to be a twin! I mean, I grew up watching Tia and Tamera MowrySister, Sister was my show! Parent Trap is a big part of it as well. I was supposed to find my twin, but I wasn't adopted. So it was like there was no way that there could possibly be a twin out there for me. But, girl, there was nothing I wanted more.

What’s the most middle child thing about you?

My career. Middle children are very much desperate overachievers. We know we always want to make sure that people know that we're not taking our moment for granted. I've read that we're really known to always be able to find our own path and be lone wolves. I'm very close to my family, but I am out in the world and trying to make sure that I bring something back to my family. I guess that middle children are voyagers.

Do you feel like everything needs to be fair, too? That’s a defining trait.

I believe everything needs to be fair. That actually is so crazy you brought that up because it pisses me off when stuff isn't fair. But life isn't fair. Can you believe it?

You’ve had so many iconic Internet moments over the years—from “I’m sorry to this man” to “You know it’s your girl.” Do you realize in the moment that something is going to go viral?

I really don’t. I think meme culture is so fun and cool because it becomes a cartoon and gets a life totally outside of you. I guess it happens because someone decides to spin it and take it out of context in a way. Sometimes, I think it happens just because people relate to you in that moment, which I think is the sweetest thing. It’s really cool to have a sense of connection in our digital age. The fact that I get to be involved in this interesting new form of media and culture is super, super-radical.

Which one of yours is your favorite?

“This one has a little sweetness to it.” I said it to Sean Evans on Hot Ones.

Related: ‘Hot Ones’ Host Sean Evans Kisses Celebrity Crush On-Camera

Honestly, that’s not even in the Top 3!

Ha! I love the realness.

What’s the next creative challenge for you?

Building spaces. I started that a little with the KeyTV network. We did 20 shows on YouTube. But it requires a lot, and so I have to create more spaces, workshops, labs, easy access and support for others to be able to create. But one of my biggest beliefs is that in order to support and get great art and help the next generation, we have to allow them an opportunity to practice. You can't get good at anything that you don't have practice with. And you can't really know how to define yourself and protect yourself as an artist without having proper stewardship.

You’ve come a long way since Akeelah and the Bee, which was already 20 years ago.

I know. It’s nuts!

Looking back, how did that experience shape your life today?

There was no way I could have known how meaningful it was going to be—I almost wish that I filmed every single minute or was writing down more things at that time. I don't think I had started journaling just yet. I just think about how it was really a magical time where I feel that I was writing the beat to my future on such a great foundation. I already had a great foundation in my relationship with my family and my personal life. But my access to that material taught me how to think about myself and my gifts. I'm happy that I had that as a kid.

Can you still spell that winning word from the movie?

Pulchritude? P-U-L-C-H-R-I-T-U-D-E. Pulchritude.

This Landmark Was Just Ranked ‘Most Loved in the World’—and It's Not the Eiffel Tower

Wed, 05/20/2026 - 7:10am

If you’re currently mapping out your travel wish list, you already know that picking which global bucket-list spots are actually worth your time can feel like a high-stakes guessing game. After all, nobody wants to fly across an ocean just to end up underwhelmed.

Thankfully, a new report from Holafly, a travel eSIM provider, has uncovered which landmarks worldwide are the most loved and complained-about by visitors. To rank them, they looked at everything from average Google ratings to how long reviewers actually spent typing out their feelings across 200 natural and historic sites.

And the global winner taking the crown might surprise you.

According to the data, the Colosseum is the #1 most loved landmark worldwide. Out of all the international heavyweights, Rome's ancient amphitheater absolutely crushed the competition. The report notes that the Colosseum has the largest number of four- and five-star reviews at 458,160, alongside the highest amount of cumulative time spent by reviewers praising the landmark at 439,833 minutes.

Clearly, the Colosseum’s architecture and historical aura from gladiator battles, animal hunts and other forms of entertainment still fascinate millions of visitors to this day, making it the most loved and appreciated historical landmark worldwide.

So, where did its most famous French rival end up? The Eiffel Tower comes in as the #2 most loved landmark worldwide in 2026. Still a massive crowd-pleaser, Paris’s favorite iron tower locked in 439,576 four- and five-star reviews.

Apparently, people get pretty sentimental when they visit, too. Visitors write an average of 39 words per review, which is somewhat of a lengthy review. Whether viewed during the day or night, from the ground or the upper deck, many people seem to love and enjoy their experience at one of the most notable landmarks in Europe and the entire globe.

Related: This Is the Safest Country in the World for Solo Travel—and You’ve Probably Never Heard of It

Rounding out the top three is a spot a little closer to home. Rockefeller Center is the #3 most loved landmark worldwide in 2026. This massive New York City complex maintains a 4.7 out of five-star rating, with reviewers logging nearly 330,000 total minutes spent praising their experience there.

Honestly, it makes perfect sense. Rockefeller Center is more than just a complex in Midtown Manhattan, as people normally enjoy fine dining, art, fashion, ice-skating and many other things throughout the year, making it harder to hate but easier to love as a landmark.

If you're curious about the rest of the world's standout spots, the remaining top 10 features a mix of breathtaking nature and ancient history: the Taj Mahal, the Old City of Jerusalem, Niagara Falls, the Basílica de la Sagrada Família, Yellowstone National Park, the Brooklyn Bridge and Vatican City.

Your True Calling, Based on Your Birth Month

Wed, 05/20/2026 - 7:08am

Whether you’re hoping to connect even more deeply with your sense of self, understand your relationships better, or figure out what your true calling is, it’s possible you’ve leaned on natal astrology, numerology, or even your Myers-Briggs Type for guidance and wisdom. You could spend your whole life learning about all the intricacies of any of these fields of study. But there is one shortcut, if you will, for better understanding your purpose, motivation, identity, and how you experience confidence: your birth month.

Your birth month tells a story about the signs that the sun was moving through when you came into the world. That said, if you’ve been wanting to get a read on your ideal professional path or simply musing about making a change around how you earn a living, see if your birth month can guide you toward your true calling.

RELATED:

Your True Calling, According to Your Birth Month

Be sure to read on for your zodiac sign. Practiced astrology fans, be sure to consider your Sun, Moon, and Rising signs.

January: Take the Reins and Innovate

Whether you were born when the sun was moving through either industrious, pragmatic, responsible Capricorn or future-minded, quirky, humanitarian Aquarius, your sun sign is ruled by Saturn, the planet of hard work, commitment, and boundaries. In turn, you’re wired to pour so much of your soul, spirit, energy, and heart into your work—especially when you feel like you’ve been given a concrete goal to work toward. Consider pursuing your dreams in the corporate world as a C-suite exec, finance, or tech. You might also enjoy teaching history or science. No matter what field you find your groove in, you’re a natural born leader, so it’s crucial to own your ambition.

RELATE?: These 4 Birth Months Are Ahead of Their Time

February: Lead With Your Imagination and Intuition

Born in the middle of the winter when the sun was in either innovative, rational, group-oriented Aquarius or emotionally astute, empathic, artistic Pisces? Your imagination and ability to read between the lines when connecting with others are among your many gifts. You’re an innate healer, so you could find a great deal of joy in devoting yourself to a path that involves caring for others psychologically and spiritually, whether that’s as a therapist, a professional astrologer, Reiki practitioner, or acupuncturist. You might also find you’re successful tapping into your creative impulses and making your mark as a poet, screenwriter, or thespian.

March: Own Your Unique Point of View and Love of Risk-Taking

Born during the month that serves as a transition from the cold, dark days of winter and the promising, greener days of springtime, you’re either a heartfelt, sensitive, empathic Pisces sun or a go-getter, competitive Aries. Either way, you’re wired to trust your gut, which makes you a natural when it comes to creative and trailblazing lines of work. You might be thrilled to channel your artistic point of view into graphic design or working in an art gallery. Because you’re so action-oriented and potentially even a bit competitive, you might also be a wonderfully supportive and motivational personal trainer or find that you excel at a job that involves working on commission or following the stock market.

April: Pour Your Steady Focus and Drive Into a Concrete Upshot

If you were born in the month that makes it clear spring is here, you claim either dynamic, direct, action-oriented Aries or slow, steady, sensual, dependable Taurus as your sun sign. Either way, you’re highly adept at focusing on what you want to achieve and moving at whatever pace feels best to you. You’ll be happiest working in a field that allows you to get absolute results and express your competitive streak, so think about pursuing real estate, commodities trading, law, or working in academia.

May: Capitalize on Your Ability to Connect

You celebrate your birthday during an especially social, cheerful month, when the sun comes out and the unofficial kickoff to summer is marked by Memorial Day weekend. You’re a steady, loyal, grounded Taurus sun or a buzzy, curious, on-the-go Gemini sun. In turn, you prioritize nurturing your connections—with friends, colleagues, and loved ones. Your calling involves being the natural-born networker and communicator that you are, so consider pursuing a path in public relations, speech writing, matchmaking, or human resources.

June: Tap Into Your Innate Nurturer

If you were born during the month that hosts the summer solstice, your sun sign is either supercommunicator, social, personable Gemini or protective, loving, humorous Cancer. You’re creative, love to take the initiative, and are also invested in understanding and supporting the people in your social circle. And because you’re lighthearted, playful, and compassionate, working with kids as a child psychologist, pediatric occupational therapist, or caregiver could be especially fulfilling. Your communication skills might also make you a natural in marketing or client relations.

July: Project Your Inner Light

Because you came into the world when the summer was at its peak, you were born when the sun was either in nurturing, sensitive, initiative-taking Cancer or the sign that the sun is right at home in as its ruler: bold, loyal, spotlight-loving Leo. You’re incredibly protective of your loved ones, and you radiate a warm, glowing, heartfelt energy that magnetizes people to you. You’re a born entertainer and leader, which could make you a natural at running for public office or soaking up the limelight as a musician or local celebrity chef.

August: Entertain and Inform

You were born when blindingly sunny, humid days morph into back-to-school season, making your sun sign either confident, optimistic, driven Leo or service-oriented, detail-driven, intuitive Virgo. You’ll excel in a professional path that offers you opportunities to claim center stage as well as feel useful and supportive of others. You might find a great deal of fulfillment from serving as the head of a nonprofit or reporting on local news as an anchor. Your love of fantasy and potentially also writing might make you a screenwriter or romance novelist.

FUN!: The Candle Scent That Matches You, Based on Your Birth Month

September: Share Your Gift for Communicating and Beautifying

Having come into the world during a month that transforms summer into the earliest days of autumn, you were born with your sun in cerebral, communicative Virgo or diplomatic, balance-loving Libra. As an adept communicator, you care deeply about presenting the most accurate facts and useful information to others and, as someone who prioritizes harmony, you always have an eye toward infusing spaces and experiences with more aesthetic value. In turn, you’ll be at your most centered and joyful when you’re tapping these skills in your career. You were born to make your mark in lifestyle journalism, interior design, personal styling, marriage counseling, or environmental law.

November: Make Adventure and Education a Core Focus

When autumn days get cooler and you find yourself prepping for the holidays, it’s clearly your birth month, which is hosted by mysterious, magnetic, intimacy-seeking Scorpio and wanderlust-fueled, gregarious, philosophicalSagittarius. As a result of having your sun in one of these two signs, you’re passionate, a lifelong learner, and eager to spread your wings and shake up anything that feels stagnant or mundane. You want to feel recognized for everything you bring to the table—which is a lot! So you’ll do best to pour your energy into a professional path that fulfills your appetite for broadening your horizons and sharing your wisdom. You might be over the moon to work as an archaeologist, historian, museum curator, or travel journalist.

Buffalo Wild Wings Just Made 2 Fan-Favorite Sauces Permanent—Finally

Wed, 05/20/2026 - 7:01am

Buffalo Wild Wings has some sweet new dips and sips heading out just in time for summer and snacking on during the World Cup.

The popular quick-service restaurant is refreshing its menus with a spirited new cocktail inspired by the upcoming historic Independence Day celebrations, one that also happens to be perfect for rooting on the U.S. national soccer team should you be planning to catch any games from the sports bar. And, more importantly, it's finally making two "bold" sauces available long after the last 8 p.m. sunset.

Heading to its permanent menu ahead of Memorial Day Weekend, the unofficial start to summer 2026, is B-Dubs' Golden Fire Sauce and its Buffalo Ranch Sauce.

Buffalo Wild Wings Introduces 2 New Permanent Sauces and a Summery Cocktail

Buffalo Wild Wings' Golden Fire Sauce was initially released as a limited-time offer a few years ago, and according to customers on Reddit, it was "very yummy," with some even calling it "absolutely fantastic."

The same can be said for its Buffalo Ranch sauce, a once-limited-time-offer that became such a cult favorite that the chain has brought it back several times in the last few years. And now, it's officially permanent.

  • Golden Fire Sauce: The perfect blend of sting and zing, where sweet and tangy Carolina Gold meets fiery chiles.
  • Buffalo Ranch Sauce: A spicy, buttery, tangy blend of Buffalo sauce, butter and ranch seasoning.
Buffalo Wild Wings finally makes Golden Fire (L) and Buffalo Ranch (R) sauces permanent.

Buffalo Wild Wings

As for the boozy sip, it's equal parts red, white and blue, and has been dubbed accordingly. Buffalo Wild Wings Red, White & Booze Lemonade is made with Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Cointreau, lemon sour, cane sugar, Blue Curacao, grenadine, fresh lemon, and Starry, according to an official description shared in an email with Parade.

While the sauces are hanging out as part of the core menu, the festive cocktail will only be available for a limited time this summer, starting Thursday, May 20, through Tuesday, August 18, or while supplies last (prices may vary).

Bush’s Baked Beans Drops 3 'Very Unexpected' New Flavors Based on Nostalgic Summer Staples—But Not Everyone Is Convinced

Wed, 05/20/2026 - 7:00am

Bush's Baked Beans just revealed three unexpected summer flavors that may be worth bringing to the next cookout.

With summer flavors on everyone’s mind, the brand leaned into nostalgia for its latest canned drop — and the results may not be what you expect.

First up is Bush's Dill Pickle Baked Beans, which the brand says leans into the "pickle food trend," especially as 20% of Gen Zers express their love for pickled-flavored items.

The pickle profile does tend to elevate anything from sandwiches to burgers and even pizza, so there's really no reason why it wouldn’t also work in baked beans.

"Tossed in a tangy sauce with a punch of dill pickle, Bush's Dill Pickle Baked Beans serve up a bold, savory bite that stands out in any barbecue spread. Bright and unmistakably pickle, this unexpected twist brings just the right amount of zing to balance smoky, grilled favorite," the release notes.

The next two may raise eyebrows, as they combine baked beans with two staple American comfort desserts.

Bush’s Apple Pie Baked Beans blends warm spices, brown sugar and sweet apple for "an indulgent, dessert-inspired twist on a classic cookout side."

And finally, the one that will likely stop you in your tracks is the Bush’s Rocket Pop Baked Beans, which takes its inspiration from the beloved popsicle flavor.

"Bursting with notes of cherry, lime and blue raspberry, Bush’s Rocket Pop Baked Beans offer a sweet, playful take inspired by the iconic frozen treat. Nostalgic and very unexpected, this flavor packs a firework of fruity taste," the release notes.

Bush's Baked Beans

One thing is for certain, Bush's has remixed nostaglic summer treats into a new form to kick off summer cookouts properly.

However, not everyone seemed convinced.

"What the earth?! Rocket Pop?! Seriously? They lost their minds. I suspect that the rocket pop is online only because it might be nasty. Apple pie sounds pretty good since baked beans can be balanced with some warm spices. Hope it got some chunks of the apples in there," one wrote on influencer Markie Devo's post.

"I'm calling the police. 😂🤮" another quipped, as someone else chimed in, "Not sure how i feel abt these. Apple pie might be ok. No to the others. I like rocket pop, but not the flavor in baked beans."

These are the ideal addition to any celebration this year for America 250, the 250th anniversary of the United States signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776.

All three flavors are available in stores now.

'The Book of Mormon' Delays Broadway Reopening Following Devastating Fire

Wed, 05/20/2026 - 6:55am

The Book of Mormon has been temporarily shut down after a devastating fire broke out on May 4, revealing that it caused  “significant damage.” And now, the theater has further delayed the reopening after previously announcing they would reopen on Thursday, May 21.

On Tuesday, May 19, producers of the Tony-winning musical announced that performances are canceled through May 26 as they need to do more work following the electrical fire.

“Both parties were encouraged by the speed of initial work in the theatre, though recovery took longer than expected this past weekend,” they said, according to PEOPLE, adding that they are "working diligently to ensure that the theatre will be safe and comfortable for the cast and company, the building's staff, and audiences.”

The three-alarm fire occurred on May 4 at 10:30 a.m. in the spotlight room. Afterwards, Assistant Chief David Simms called the fire "deep-seated," adding that damage was done to the theater's fourth-floor electrical room. There was also water damage throughout the venue. A firefighter who responded to the blaze was injured and taken to a local hospital, but no theater personnel were harmed. The New York City Fire Department said that it was "not safe for people to be in the building until it is repaired."

At this time, production is set to resume on Wednesday, May 27, at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre, which is one of the most famous stages on Broadway, having housed shows such as The Odd Couple (1966), Annie (1981), Spring Awakening (2006), and many others.

The Book of Mormon is also about to hit a major milestone, with many of the show's original cast members, including Andrew Rannells, Josh Gad, Nikki M. James, and Rory O'Malley, set to return for guest appearances to celebrate the 15th anniversary.

The show originally opened on Broadway at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre in February 2011.

Stephen King Surprises Fans With a Brand-New Short Story that You Can Read Right Now

Wed, 05/20/2026 - 6:42am

Stephen King fans woke up this week to an unexpected gift. The author published a new short story, 'Dinah's Hat,' in the June 2026 issue ofThe Atlantic, No announcement, no promotional buildup, just a new King story sitting there for readers to find.

The 6,000-word story is available in The Atlantic's June issue and can be read online with a subscription or a 30-day free trial.

For longtime readers, the setting alone is a small surprise. King trades in his signature New England backdrop for coastal Florida, using the change of scenery to dig into a family's dark secret. Maine has been King's spiritual home since Carriein 1974. It's where Derry, Castle Rock, and Jerusalem's Lot all exist, so the Florida setting goes in a different direction. It's not unprecedented. His 2024 collection You Like It Darker included 'Rattlesnakes,' in which a grieving widower travels to Florida for relief and instead receives an unexpected inheritance with major strings attached. The Sunshine State, it seems, keeps pulling at him.

Related: Stephen King Ruled Horror Every Year of the '90s — Except One

King's short fiction has always operated as its own separate universe within his larger work. His first collection, Night Shift (1978), leaned toward stories of individuals going mad or undergoing transformations, while Skeleton Crew (1985) tilted toward monsters. Over decades, the stories accumulated into a body of work that rivals his novels in cultural impact including 'The Mist,' 'Children of the Corn,' and 'The Body' (the basis for Stand by Me) all began as short fiction. You Like It Darker, published in May 2024, debuted at number one on The New York Times fiction best-seller list and won the Goodreads Choice Award for Horror.

If 'Dinah's Hat' is any indication, another short story collection could follow. King has never been someone who lets raw material sit in a drawer. Stories published in magazines such as Playboy, Cavalier, Omni, and now The Atlantic, have historically served as the seeds of his collections, and the pattern here fits.

In the meantime, King's next scheduled book is considerably larger in scope. Other Worlds Than These, the final entry in the Talisman trilogy co-created with the late Peter Straub, is set for publication on October 6, 2026, by Scribner, running 624 pages. Straub died in 2022, and King wrote the novel alone but using material Straub had prepared. An excerpt from the book ran in Esquirein February 2026. The novel follows Jack Sawyer facing a nearly impossible task: stopping a wave of violent, infected teenagers while simultaneously confronting a force called the Gullet at the edge of Mid-World, connecting directly to King's Dark Tower saga.

But for now, 'Dinah's Hat' is the story in front of readers (and online), and The Atlantic's June issue is on newsstands now.

Mindy Kaling Says Her Recent Weight Loss Has Nothing to Do With the Red Carpet

Wed, 05/20/2026 - 6:36am

Despite Hollywood’s constant push to stay red carpet ready, comedian Mindy Kaling says her weight loss journey has been driven by something much more personal than aesthetics.

“When I was younger, I would want to lose weight because of vanity reasons. Now I want to lose weight or have lost weight because I want to stave off things like diabetes,” Kaling recently told Bustle. “I had it on both sides of my family, and trying to avoid those kinds of things will, I think, help longevity for me, and that’s my goal.”

She added, “Do I wake up every day being like, ‘I look amazing and I’m so gorgeous?' No, unsurprisingly, but I truly feel so healthy."

Fans have noticed her transformation from her own description of being a “normal-slash-chubby woman,” and she has acknowledged how that shift can challenge the image people form of celebrities they’ve grown attached to.

View this post on Instagram

“It’s sometimes no fun when one of your favorite actors loses weight. You have an idea of what they were like when you grew attached to them, and it made them endear themselves to you,” she explained. “Of course, it’s never a joy to be scrutinized, but also truly understand it, as someone who consumes pop culture.”

Kaling, who is notably private—especially when it comes to her children—has been open in recent years about prioritizing health. “I’m in my protein era, but I’m also in my trying-not-to-have-high-cholesterol era,” she told Parade in 2025. “I’d love nothing more than to eat steak all day, but I’ve been trying to get protein from pea protein, tofu, and chicken, which isn’t always the most fun, but I’ve been somewhat successful.”

She has also leaned into a more disciplined fitness routine. “I do about five exercises, and I don’t make it fun,” Kaling shared. “I do it with a trainer. I do my squats, my Romanian deadlifts, and my lunges. Then I have a routine of arm exercises—upright rows, the regular bicep curls, the Arnold press, and a lot of pushups.” She also revealed she can hold a plank position for an impressive two minutes.

Can You Name This Iconic 1971 Rock Drum Intro in 2 Seconds? American Songwriter Thinks You Can

Wed, 05/20/2026 - 6:23am

There are few ways to grab classic rock fans’ attention and make a song instantly recognizable faster than a powerhouse drum intro. According to American Songwriter, only a handful of classic rock drum intros are recognizable within seconds, cementing both the song and the drummer’s iconic status.

"Rock and Roll" by Led Zeppelin is a standout among American Songwriter’s picks for unforgettable classic rock drum intros. Can you recognize John Bonham’s explosive, raw drumming on the legendary Zeppelin track?

Why "Rock and Roll" Has One of Rock’s Most Recognizable Drum Intros

The song’s unique timing continues to be discussed, studied, and replayed by generations of music enthusiasts.

“That insane count-in fill from John Bonham should be studied by every kid who gets a drum kit for Christmas,” writes American Songwriter’s Em Casalena. “It’s an immediate vibe establisher, one that forms one of the most explosive and memorable drum intros of all time. "Rock and Roll" was a modest hit for Led Zeppelin in 1972, peaking at No. 47 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.”

Casalena also cites "In the Air Tonight" by Phil Collins and "Born to Be Wild" by Steppenwolf, both made famous in part by instantly recognizable drum intros that have remained timeless.

Part of what makes Bonham’s "Rock and Roll" intro so enduring is its immediacy. Before a single lyric is sung, the legendary drummer establishes the song’s swagger and energy. Bonham creates a chaotic sound that somehow remains completely controlled.

John Bonham’s Drum Style Still Influences Rock Music Today

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/S3HILMeukw4

Many rock fans and music critics consider Bonham’s performance the definitive classic rock drum intro, one that continues to influence modern rock music decades later. Younger fans are still discovering "Rock and Roll" through streaming playlists, social media clips, movies, and classic rock radio.

Likewise, some of rock music’s most celebrated drummers, including Dave Grohl, Chad Smith, and Lars Ulrich, have all drawn inspiration from Bonham’s aggressive, hard-hitting style that helped define rock music.

More than 50 years after its release, "Rock and Roll" remains proof that sometimes it takes only a few seconds of drums to create one of the most unforgettable intros in rock music history.

I've Been On All of The Disney Cruise Ships—Here’s Five Reasons The Treasure Should Be Your Next Cruise

Wed, 05/20/2026 - 6:10am

Imagine this: the breeze is blowing on your face, you have a refreshing drink in your hand, and the sound of the ocean waves is all you hear. While this could be a dream, you can actually wake up to this every day on a Disney Cruise. And while you may have some decisions to make, like when to sail, what itinerary to pick and what type of cabin to sleep in, I’m here to make one big decision easier: which ship to book.

I’ve been lucky enough to sail on all of Disney Cruise Line’s ships, and I’m here to convince you that the Disney Treasure should be your next cruise. The newer Wish-class ship is themed around adventure, and after spending a week on board, I can tell you it truly was an adventure for my family. If you’re thinking about your next Disney Cruise vacation and wondering if the Disney Treasure is right for you, keep reading to find out my top five reasons it’s the perfect ship for families.

The Entertainment Onboard is Exceptional “Disney The Tale of Moana” brings Moana’s adventurous tale to life, for the first time on stage.

Disney Cruise Line

“The theme of the Disney Treasure is adventure, and from the very first moment onboard to the very last, it’s all about choosing your own adventure. Throughout this experience, there are many exclusive events that you can only enjoy on this ship. Combined with the sheer beauty of the vessel and its immersive theming, it truly is a special ship,” says Cruise Director, Darren McBurney

From the moment you step on board and your family’s name is announced in the Grand Hall to the finale show with Mickey and the gang, the story of adventure is unfolding all around you.

Some of my favorite little pop-up shows happen right in the heart of the ship in the Grand Hall, with two “treasure seekers” called Sage and Coriander. The two storytellers often pop in to retell iconic Disney stories (I heard Encanto and Aladdin) with a sort of side-show pop-up trunk twist. I also loved that you could see the duo walking around the ship, interacting with guests, and sharing their lore. Adults won’t want to miss their Indiana Jones-themed comedy show that takes place once a cruise in Sarabi either.

At the ship’s lounges, live music is abundant. My favorite spot to enjoy evening music was Scat Cat Lounge, a beautiful adult-only piano lounge themed to The Aristocats. “With its relaxed, jazz-inspired atmosphere and elegant design, it offers the perfect setting to unwind while enjoying a curated selection of specialty cocktails and mocktails,” says McBurney.

And of course, there are the incredible Broadway-caliber shows that Disney Cruise Line is known for. On the Disney Treasure, you can see three different shows: Disney Seas the Adventure, Beauty and the Beast, and Disney The Tale of Moana. If you only go to one of these three shows, I implore you to make it Disney The Tale of Moana. The hour-long show is a retelling of the fan-favorite movie, with a fantastic cast, larger-than-life puppets and heartwarming moments you won’t see anywhere else. And as someone who loves how Disney constantly integrates technology to enhance its shows, I love the effects in this production. (Hint: Grandma Tala’s manta ray comes to life in a really fun way throughout the show.) The Disney Treasure is also the only place in the world where you can see a full stage production of Moana, which makes it super unique.

Then, there are exclusive fireworks at sea, which only Disney has approval to do. On the Disney Treasure, fireworks take place on Pirate Night, which features a full ship takeover, from Mickey and his pals dressed in their pirate finery to pirate-themed games and even a Pirate-themed dinner.

Ample Dining Options For Families And Adults  Plaza de Coco is the world’s first theatrical dining experience themed to the Disney and Pixar film, “Coco.”

Disney Cruise Line

One of my favorite parts of any cruise is the food, especially when I get to try new things or enjoy favorite dishes only found on a cruise ship. On the Disney Treasure, the dining options for families and kids are abundant, with family-friendly staples like the food hall-style Marceline Market and outdoor quick-service spots that dish out everything from chicken tenders to delightful burrito bowls. And don’t forget the nearly all-day soft serve ice cream, where flavors rotate throughout the week. My favorite is the pineapple coconut, which only appears once per sailing on the Disney Treasure.

Then there are the three excellent dining rooms that families will rotate through during the week. You’ll dine in each dining room twice, along with one additional night in a select dining room for Disney’s iconic Pirate Night feast. Your official dining rotation can be seen in the Disney Cruise Line app after you connect to the ship’s free Wi-Fi. The first rotational dining restaurant is Worlds of Marvel (also available on the Disney Wish and Disney Destiny), with a menu inspired by global cuisine. 1923 (also on the Disney Wish and Disney Destiny) highlights California. And pro-tip for parents: 1923 makes for a great date night if you want to feed your kids early and drop them off at the kids' club.

The final rotational dining option is Plaza de Coco, an exclusive dinner show that’s included in the cost of your cruise. This is the one restaurant you won't want to miss. Both nights, the menu features Mexican-inspired dishes with carnitas, chicken tortillasoup, and beef birria empanadas. Both meals are accompanied by a show featuring characters from the Pixar movie Coco and a live mariachi band. Without giving too much away, I cried on our second night, and I looked across the table, and my mom was crying too.

And for adults looking to slip away for a while, Palo Steakhouse and Enchante are the places to be. These adult-only restaurants are located at the back of the ship, in a secluded corner, but they are worth fighting for a reservation at. My favorite meal is Palo Steakhouse’s brunch, which is all-you-care-to-enjoy for one set cost, with delightful dishes like Italian charcuterie boards, a shareable calzone (the sleeper hit on the menu), and perfectly golden chicken parmesan with risotto.

Of course, there’s also the adult-only bars, like Scat Cat Lounge and The Rose. But one place not to miss on the cruise is The Haunted Mansion Parlor. The lounge is family-friendly during the day, but once the sun sets, it becomes exclusively adult. Inside, grim grinning ghosts do come out to socialize, and it truly feels like you’ve been transported right to the iconic Disney Parks attraction.

You Won’t Be Able to Keep Your Kids Out of The Kids' Clubs In Disney’s Oceaneer Club aboard the Disney Treasure, kids discover the immersive worlds of Super Heroes and princesses and take part in adventures with favorite Disney friends.

Disney Cruise Line

If you think the exciting pools, character meet-and-greets, interactive games, and Broadway shows aren’t enough to keep your kids entertained, then you’ll want to register them for the Disney Treasure kids club. There are clubs for those ages three to 17, and kids are split up into different spaces based on age. But be warned, once you check kids into the clubs, they may never want to leave. The biggest space is Disney’s Oceaneer Club, which is for children ages three to 10.

“Just like for adults and families, our kids clubs are all about giving young cruisers the freedom to choose what’s right for them. In Disney’s Oceaneer Club, children can explore a wide range of immersive experiences, from stepping into a cargo bay inspired by the Star Wars universe to becoming a superhero by designing their own suit and taking on Marvel villains at the Marvel Super Hero Academy. They can also learn from Disney Imagineers in the Walt Disney Imagineering Lab, where they can create their own roller coaster attraction and then virtually experience the ride. With additional spaces inspired by beloved stories, Mickey and Minnie’s Captain’s Deck, and a welcoming team of youth activities counselors, it’s no surprise that many of our younger guests never want to leave,” says McBurney.

If you’re wondering what your kids get up to inside the kids' clubs, everyone on board can play here during Open House hours. These are always listed on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. My family and I opted to go into the club to build our own roller coaster inside the Walt Disney Imagineering Lab, which was a lot of fun.

Cabins Are Contemporary With Plenty of Space For Everyone Set high in the Disney Treasure’s forward funnel, The Tomorrow Tower Suite is the most exclusive cabin on the ship.

Disney Cruise Line

Whether you’re staying in an interior cabin or the largest, most opulent suite on the Disney Treasure, the staterooms are contemporary and have plenty of space for everyone. My family stayed in a Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah, which clocks in at just under 250 square feet. For my family of three, this was plenty of room, especially since we didn’t spend a ton of time in the room, since there was so much to do out and about on the ship.

What makes Disney Cruise Line’s cabins so unique is the split bathroom concept, which offers one bathroom with a sink and toilet, and a second with a tub-shower and a sink. This really helps with expediting getting ready in the morning. And while the shower is somewhat small, especially for taller folks, it does the job. The room also featured two distinct sleeping areas: a main queen bed with a TV mounted on the wall, and a couch that doubles as a bed, plus a pull-down bunk. The two spaces can be divided by a privacy curtain.

Something that really surprised me about my cabin was how much storage there actually is. There is a large cabinet with ample hangers (you can also ask for more if you need them), and a large vanity with shelves and drawers all around it. My family of three didn’t have any issues finding places for a week's worth of clothes, shoes, and other necessities. It was also nice that the bed was raised far enough off the floor that we could roll all our suitcases underneath.

One big pro-tip: try to bring a pop-up hamper with you on your cruise. This will give you a spot to put dirty clothes. Then, as the hamper gets full, you can simply fold your dirty clothes and put them in a suitcase, or take them to the onboard laundry facility to wash.

The Service Is Unmatched The Disney Treasure features one of Disney Cruise Line’s beloved restaurant concepts, 1923, named for The Walt Disney Company’s founding year.

Disney Cruise Line

To me, the biggest joy of sailing with Disney is the unrivaled service and the passion each crew member shows. On our first night at dinner, we immediately connected with our dining team, who would rotate with us throughout the week. At dinner on the second night, they already had iced tea for my travel companions before we even made it to the table. And even when we passed our dining teams on the pool decks or in Marceline Market, they offered to get our drinks and asked if there was anything we needed.

Another standout moment for my family happened at Hei Hei Cafe, one of the onboard coffee shops. After visiting just once, the lovely baristas knew my family’s order, and each night when we returned, she rattled off our drink order to confirm we weren’t changing anything. And if you love espresso martinis, then this is the spot to be.

Even the cruise director is there to ensure every guest feels warmly welcomed. “I love sharing my passion for all things Disney—especially after 28 years with Disney Cruise Line—and helping guide guests to 'Seas the Adventure,' ensuring they enjoy every moment and take home magical memories that will last a lifetime,” says McBurney.

These are just a few examples, but all over the ship and at Disney’s private island, Disney Castaway Cay, we encountered crew who were eager to help with nearly anything, wanted to make genuine connections with guests, and wanted to ensure everyone was having a good time.

Overall, the Disney Treasure stands out in the growing Disney Cruise Line fleet for its exceptional entertainment and dining options, plus kids and adults will find plenty to do onboard together and apart.

Director Mike Nichols essentially told Cher to “snap out of it” when she asked him for advice on how to launch her acting career after music.

Originally known as one half of the duo Sonny & Cher, Cher hoped to move beyond her variety-show TV persona from The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour and become a serious actor — something Nichols doubted she could do.

Cher recently recounted on The Howard Stern Showhow she was with David Geffen trying to get an audition. “We had all these friends, high as you can go — nobody wanted to,” she recalled. So she “went to Mike Nichols because he was doing a movie, and I said, ‘I’d like to audition for the part.’ He said, ‘Cher, there’s only two kinds of women, and you’re not the right one.’”

Ouch.

Nichols felt so strongly that he wouldn’t even consider allowing Cher to audition. But she recalled him as “sweet, because that’s who he was. He said, ‘But I’ll keep you in mind.’ I said, ‘Well, you know what? I’m talented, and someday you’re going to be sorry.’”

Ultimately, Nichols granted Cher an audition for his 1975 film The Fortune. He passed on casting her, but she finally landed the role of Dolly Pelliker in the 1983 Academy Award-nominated film Silkwood. Cher won the Golden Globe for Silkwood and earned an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

Of course, the rest is history. Cher went on to star in 20 feature films, with breakout performances in Moonstruck, The Witches of Eastwick, Burlesque, and Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. In 1988, Cher won the Oscar for Best Actress for Moonstruck.

In addition to Silkwood, Cher won a Golden Globe for The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour in 1974 and Best Actress in a Motion Picture for Moonstruck in 1988.

Was there anyone who supported her dreams to act in the early days? She recalled how director Francis Ford Coppola and actress Shelley Winters were more supportive, with Winters telling her, "If you want to be serious, and you want to be an actress, get your ass to New York."

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds Hit With $2.1 Million in Property Liens: Report

Wed, 05/20/2026 - 6:04am

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ upstate New York property has been hit with more than $2.1 million in unpaid contractor debt, The Daily Mail reports.

Westchester County filings show five separate contractors and subcontractors filed mechanic's liens against the property in April 2026. According to official records reviewed by the publication, the outstanding claims total exactly $2,108,856.63.

The 110-acre estate was purchased through an LLC beginning in 2018. During a previous town planning board hearing, Lively described the site as a "beautiful buffer" for their family. Plans for the site include a main residence, a pool house, a separate gym, geothermal heating, and custom copper roofing.

According to the filed documents, the unpaid work spans multiple construction sectors across the 110-acre estate:

  • Flower Construction (FlowCon Inc.): This firm filed the largest single lien against the property, totaling $1,356,157.54. The scope of their extensive contract included structural framing, the installation of HVAC systems, comprehensive plumbing and electrical work, as well as drywall, masonry, and waterproofing. They were also responsible for the property's aesthetic finishes, including painting and high-end millwork.
  • Specialized Subcontractors: A group of four additional contractors filed claims regarding technical aspects of the estate's development. These filings seek outstanding payments for custom copper roofing, complex drainage and septic systems, geothermal excavation, and structural steel fabrication. Detailed finish work, such as rough carpentry and trim installation, is also cited in the unpaid claims.

County records indicate that while construction activity on the site was consistent throughout late 2025, all work effectively ceased between December 2025 and early 2026. The liens were subsequently filed in April 2026, bringing the total outstanding debt to $2,108,856.63.

The Daily Mail notes these property liens arrive immediately following a high-profile legal battle between Lively and her It Ends With Us co-star, Justin Baldoni. With the outlet claiming: “According to reports, no money changed hands in the settlement despite months of explosive allegations, leaked messages and legal filings.”

The dispute cost both sides tens of millions of dollars in legal fees and ended in a settlement earlier this month, just two weeks before the scheduled trial. Court records show Lively is currently continuing her push to recover legal fees and damages tied to Baldoni's failed countersuit, after a judge denied her latest request to submit additional filings.

Parade has reached out to representatives for the contractors, Reynolds and Lively for comment.

Heinz Just Revived Its Iconic Glass Ketchup Bottle—for a Limited Time

Wed, 05/20/2026 - 6:01am

Heinz is rolling out a familiar favorite this grilling season, one that fans haven't seen in decades, but only at Walmart.

The popular condiment brand has been paired with mealtime favorites for 157 years and to celebrate, it's going back to its roots and bringing back one of its most recognizable—and now rare—releases.

This morning, Heinz announced a limited-time revival of its iconic glass ketchup bottles.

Heinz Is Reviving Its Iconic Glass Bottles for a Limited Time

When Heinz first hit shelves in 1876, it was sold in glass bottles to showcase its rich, hearty recipe. While its packaging changed with the times, it wasn't until the mid-1980s that it switched to a plastic, squeezable bottle, similar to what's offered today.

But now, 150 years later, it's reviving its glass packaging as part of Heinz's new “157 Years of Being Food’s Best Friend” campaign, which the company said is "inspired by the rituals and fan behaviors that have made the brand a mealtime staple for generations."

Heinz's iconic glass ketchup bottle returned for a brief period in 2011, and after over a decade off shelves, it will be available exclusively at Walmart stores nationwide beginning May 20, while supplies last (prices may vary).

1982 Yacht Rock Masterpiece, Ranked Among the Greatest Songs of All Time, Hid an Incredible 20 Year Secret

Wed, 05/20/2026 - 5:57am

Few songs capture the breezy, sun-soaked sound of yacht rock quite like this 1982 classic. But behind its smooth exterior lies a surprising twist.

The track’s most iconic musical moment wasn’t entirely new at all. It borrowed from a song written more than 20 years earlier, hiding in plain sight inside one of the soft rock’s most celebrated hits.

Michael McDonald's “I Keep Forgettin’ (Every Time You’re Near)” is considered one of the greatest Yacht Rock songs ever written. But before the genre even emerged, McDonald's biggest solo hit was a soft-rock blockbuster that leaned heavily on a 1962 tune penned by an iconic songwriting duo.

"I Keep Forgettin' (Every Time You're Near)" peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Top 100 in October 1982. Additionally, the song would rank among the Best Yacht Rock Songs of All Time on the Music Influence Substack.

According to American Songwriter, McDonald penned the song with Ed Sanford of the Sanford-Townsend Band. The men used a refrain from a 1962 song, "I Keep Forgettin'" performed by Chuck Jackson and written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller.

However, McDonald didn't just borrow elements from the original Lieber and Stoller song. He credited the duo as additional songwriters on the tune.

The song tells a story about a couple whose relationship has ended. McDonald plays the part of the man who is convinced they're still together when they are apart.

"I Keep Forgettin' (Every Time You're Near)"  featured Toto members Steve Lukather and Jeff Porcaro, along with Greg Phillinganes, Louis Johnson, and McDonald’s sisterMaureen.

After years of singing and performing with the Doobie Brothers, this song was McDonald's breakout solo single after the band split in 1982 reported Songfacts.

Ironically, McDonald's hit would also move forward into the future when, 12 years after its release, the song was sampled by Warren G and Nate Dogg on their 1994 hit "Regulate."

Warren G told Buzzfeed, "My parents used to play 'I Keep Forgettin' (Every Time You're Near)' when I was a kid, and that's one of the songs that stuck in my head. I was thinking I wanted to do something different instead of the same old hip hop. I thought, 'Why don't I take a song that I liked from back then and recreate it in hip hop style?'"

That quiet musical connection adds a new layer of appreciation to an already timeless track. For yacht rock fans, including those who love the unmistakable sound of Michael McDonald, it is another reminder that some of the genre’s smoothest moments have deeper roots.

Psychologist Says That People Who Rewatch the Same TV Show Over and Over Again Have These 7 Traits

Wed, 05/20/2026 - 5:55am

Once a really good TV show ends, it's normal for a lot of people to move on to the next one. But if it provided laughs, comfort or a lot of emotion you hung onto, what's really stopping you from simply starting Season 1, Episode 1 again?

You could argue that starting a new show is better. New characters, surprising plot lines and the excitement of not knowing what will happen next. But some of the shows we hold dear to our hearts are just that much better to binge-watch all over again.

We all have free will and perhaps a bit of time to spare time to rewatch TV shows, especially the ones that mean something to us. But is there a deeper reason why we do this?

Rewatching our favorite TV shows can allow us to fulfill all sorts of emotional needs, such as nostalgia and the reassurance of knowing how something will end up. It definitely makes sense why we might turn back to these shows, especially at hard times or whenever we want to revisit certain beloved characters.

But what else does it indicate? Do we rewatch shows because they give us the certainty that real life often can't? Do you understand yourself better through the development of fictional characters? Or is watching the same cast like catching up with a dear friend? A psychologist shares what this behavior says about us, including seven traits people might have if they rewatch the same TV show over and over again.

What Is the Psychology of Rewatching Shows?

It's true that turning an old TV show back on can be a great thrill for most of us. But what does it suggest about our brains?

Dr. Danielle Roeske, PsyD, explains that this behavior is rooted in wanting to have a kind of certainty, to be comforted in knowing exactly what is going to happen.

"When we rewatch a favorite show, we’re essentially giving our brains a gift of predictability," she explains. "Choosing something new requires our brains to work because we don’t know the characters, the plot, or the tone and we can’t be sure we’ll enjoy it. A familiar show removes all of that uncertainty."

Speaking from a more psychological lens, Dr. Roeske points out this is a form of "emotional self-regulation."

"The brain releases dopamine, not just in response to new rewards, but also in anticipation of known ones, so even before you press play, your nervous system and brain are already beginning to anticipate the things you love about your favorite show," she says.

Most of all, revisiting these shows makes us perceive that we're coming back to something so familiar that it makes us feel like we're no longer alone in some cases.

"The characters can also feel like old friends, which can genuinely ease stress, loneliness or emotional fatigue in a way that starting fresh with strangers in a new show simply can’t," she explains.

Is Rewatching the Same Show Emotionally Intelligent?

Carlos Barquero/Getty Images

Good news: rewatching the same shows might mean you have a hint of emotional intelligence (EQ), and that's never a bad thing. Dr. Roeske explains that being emotionally intelligent requires that you understand your feelings and needs. Rewatching a show to manage that could be seen as emotionally intelligent.

"Emotional intelligence at its core involves self-awareness, so understanding what you’re feeling and what you need, and the ability to self-regulate," she says. "Someone who recognizes they’re stressed, overwhelmed or emotionally depleted, and intentionally reaches for something they know will comfort them, is demonstrating emotional intelligence."

But it's also not so black and white. The psychologist says high-EQ people might also recognize that they should try new things in order to get out of a funk, for example.

"Emotional intelligence can also be attributed to those who like seeking out new experiences in alignment with trying new shows," she reveals. "It is not so much the pattern of television watching that determines emotional intelligence as much as the motivation, self-awareness, rigidity and flexibility that indicate a sense of internal and emotional groundedness."

Do People With Anxiety Watch the Same Shows?

It would make sense that people with anxiety watch the same shows over again, and if that's the case, Dr. Roeske says there's a "very clear psychological reason for this."

"Anxiety is rooted in uncertainty and the fear of unpredictable outcomes, so watching a TV show that you already know can help soothe anxious thoughts," she explains.

Returning to a show that you know and love is a comfort because you know nothing new is going to surprise you. For people with anxiety, it might be the one predictable thing that's really reliable.

"For someone whose nervous system is frequently in a heightened state, the predictability of a comforting show can feel genuinely regulating, almost like a reset button," says Dr. Roeske. "In this sense, the person has identified something that reliably helps them feel safe and they may return to it time and time again."

Is Rewatching a Show Over and Over Again a Sign of Mental Illness?

While consistently tuning into the same show over and over again isn't a sign of mental illness in any form, it can be a red flag if they're doing so to avoid real life.

"If someone is using excessive rewatching to completely avoid responsibilities, relationships or difficult emotions that they need to process, that’s worth exploring with a mental health professional and might need deeper attention," shares Dr. Roeske.

In fact, rewatching shows can be "completely healthy" and "quite common," she explains, so if you're worried that you should try something new, don't fret too much.

"When life feels uncertain or overwhelming, returning to a familiar show provides a sense of comfort and predictability that our brains genuinely crave," she tells Parade.

7 Common Traits of People Who Rewatch the Same TV Show Over and Over Again, Psychologist Reveals

If you repeat watching the same shows, you might have some of the traits that Dr. Roeske highlights below.

1. Empathetic

People who rewatch the same TV show over and over again have the tendency to be "highly empathetic," according to Dr. Roeske.

"When we return to the same characters and stories on TV, we tend to form deep emotional connections with those characters and their journeys, and we feel what they feel," she explains. "Their excitement, enjoyment and even their struggles feel like a shared experience."

2. Self-aware

Rewatching a show means that you know what you want, shares Dr. Roeske. In that case, individuals who practice this have a pretty "strong self-awareness."

"They typically know what they need emotionally and feel comfortable seeking it out, showing a meaningful form of emotional intelligence," she says.

3. Sensitive

Sensitive, or even anxious people, could very likely be show re-watchers. That's because they can take comfort in the fact that nothing will shock them or reveal something new that they haven't seen.

"The certainty of a known outcome is deeply soothing for a nervous system that’s frequently on high alert and familiar content in a TV show eliminates surprise," says Dr. Roeske.

Related: 7 Signs You’re Not ‘Too Sensitive’—You’re Actually Highly Perceptive, a Psychologist Says

4. Sentimental

Sentimental, as well as being a bit nostalgic, is a trait most commonly found in people who frequently rewatch shows. That particular show might remind them or something or someone, and that brings upon a sense of yearning for some, according to Dr. Roeske.

"Re-watchers often associate certain TV shows with specific memories, people or chapters of their lives. Returning to that is a way of reconnecting with something meaningful," she explains.

5. Detail-oriented

Perhaps our obsession with some shows reveals a lot more than we think. According to Dr. Roeske, rewatching them might make us more detail-oriented.

"Watching something again with fresh eyes often reveals details that we didn’t notice the first time, and finding something new can be really enjoyable and satisfying," she notes.

Not only that, but individuals who watch the same shows again could notice patterns in relationships on screens that mean something in their own lives.

"Similarly, they may be highly attuned to the nuances and emotional dynamics in relationships that then play out in their own interpersonal relations," she explains.

6. Loyal

Dr. Roeske explains some show re-watchers "might be more loyal" as individuals because they often return to the same things over and over again—not just TV shows.

"The same way they return to a favorite TV show, re-watchers may often also return to the same restaurants, the same vacation spots and the same people," she states. "Loyalty and familiarity could show up across many areas of their lives."

7. Creatures of habit

Some of these people tend to be creatures of habit, says Dr. Roeske. It is common that they want to repeat similar routines and patterns in their lives.

"Re-watchers tend to thrive on routine in other areas of their lives too, like with a favorite coffee order, comfort meal, book and more," she shares. "For these individuals, repetition isn’t boring; it’s grounding for them."

Why Is It Called a Bomb Pop? The 70-Year History Behind America's Favorite Summer Treat

Wed, 05/20/2026 - 5:44am

On July 4, 2026, the United States will celebrate its 250th birthday—and Americans are gearing up for what's being called the biggest Independence Day celebration in U.S. history. From Salute to America 250 on the National Mall to drone shows, tall ship parades, and millions of barbecues and block parties, Summer 2026 is shaping up to be the most red, white and blue summer in a generation!

Of course, one of the biggest icons every Fourth of July is the Bomb Pop. Just like the American flag, the flavor-packed popsicle has three colors—red, white and blue—and has been a fixture for 70 years. (Depending on where you grew up, you might know it as a Firecracker instead.)

And just in time for the big celebration, 5-hour ENERGY® is hard launching a brand-new flavor inspired by the classic treat: Firework Freeze. I like to think of it as the grown-up version of the Bomb Pop. Just like a firework, it blasted me right back to my childhood with its bold, juicy cherry flavor that turns into citrusy lime before it finishes off with a
blue raspberry tang.

The limited-time Extra Strength shot packs 230mg of caffeine—about as much as a premium 12-ounce cup of coffee. It's got zero sugar—but tons of flavor—and B-vitamins and nutrients to help you stay energized from the morning parade with the kids to an afternoon at the beach and all the way through the big barbecue and firework party at night.

But before you crack open a bottle, let's rewind to the surprisingly intense backstory behind the iconic popsicle that started it all.

The Bomb Pop Origin Story Just like Saved by the Bell's Zack and Kelly, the Bomb Pop is an American institution!

Photo by William Nation on Getty Images

My favorite part about the Bomb Pop is that it wasn't concocted via a corporate test kitchen with focus groups and flavor scientists—it was born during a '50s summer road trip.

In 1955, two employees from Merritt Foods—a Kansas City-based ice cream novelty company—were driving from Memphis back home to Kansas City and brainstorming ideas for a new kind of ice pop. D.S. "Doc" Abernethy and James S. Merritt wanted something eye-catching, multi-flavored and unmistakably American. By the time they arrived home, they had it: a red, white and blue rocket-shaped popsicle with six fins, three stacked layers of flavor and a name that perfectly captured the moment. And on July 30, 1955, the Bomb Pop was officially born.

Believe it or not, the design and name were totally intentional. That's because in 1955, the Cold War was happening. Nuclear tension was a daily topic of conversation and American patriotism had reached sky-high levels. Abernethy and Merritt leaned all the way in—designing their popsicle to look like a missile and naming it after the very thing the country was terrified of. Looking back, it sounds crazy, but it helped ease the fears of kids nationwide—and Americans young and old simply could not get enough.

The Bomb Pop vs. Firecracker Drama, Explained

If you're from New Jersey, you know all about the Taylor ham vs. pork roll debate. When it comes to three-layered popsicles, we've got Bomb Pop vs. Firecracker—and surprisingly, it's a pretty contentious rivalry.

For over 30 years, the Bomb Pop dominated freezer aisles and ice cream truck windows across the country. But the lore truly begins when American patriotism surged again as the Berlin Wall began to fall—signaling the end of the Cold War and a major win for the U.S.

That's when Popsicle—a much bigger and more widely distributed brand—launched its own three-layered, rocket-shaped treat: the Firecracker. Same cherry, lime and blue raspberry combo. Same exact vibe, except packaged under a different name and a slightly different shape.

Bomb Pop or Firecracker? Even the ice cream man can't always tell at first glance!

Photo by Ronda Churchill on Getty Images

Naturally, a frozen arms race ensued. Throughout the '90s and 2000s, the two brands competed fiercely to win over American consumers—and created a rivalry so intense (think Yankees/Red Sox) that it eventually landed in a courtroom.

In 2014, Unilever—the maker of the Firecracker—filed a complaint against Wells, the creator of the Bomb Pop. Their argument was that the Bomb Pop's packaging was "confusingly similar" to the Firecracker's. Wells fired back with a counterclaim, arguing that Unilever was falsely advertising the Firecracker as "The Original"—when it really wasn't. In a win for the underdogs, the court ultimately sided with Wells.

So to settle the debate once and for all: The Bomb Pop is the original, invented in 1955. The Firecracker came along 34 years later, in 1989. But because Popsicle's distribution is so massive, the Firecracker name took over in many parts of the country.

Who Makes Bomb Pops Today? The Summer I Turned Pretty's Gavin Casalegno celebrates National Bomb Pop Day in 2023.

When Merritt Foods closed its Kansas City plant in 1991, the Bomb Pop nearly disappeared for good—until Wells Dairy (now Wells Enterprises) of Le Mars, Iowa, swooped in and acquired the brand. Wells—also the parent company behind Blue Bunny ice cream—has been producing Bomb Pops ever since.

And under Wells' ownership, the original three-layered treat has multiplied into a full lineup. There are now nine main Bomb Pop flavors—plus four extra-intense "Extremes" varieties for kids who like a challenge. The current lineup includes Watermelon, Banana Fudge, Hawaiian Punch, Nerds, Crush, Berry Burst, Candy Clash and—of course—the original Cherry, Lime and Blue Raspberry that started it all. There have even been collaborations along the way, including a Buzz Lightyear version released by Disney in 2003.

In 2005, Wells made it official by establishing National Bomb Pop Day. It's celebrated every year on the last Thursday of June, so mark your calendar!

5-hour ENERGY's New Firework Freeze Flavor is a Bomb Pop Lover's Dream 5-hour ENERGY's newest flavor—Firework Freeze—packs the perfect punch of 4th of July parade nostalgia.

There's something undeniably magical about chasing down an ice cream truck on a scorching hot summer afternoon. But in 2026, the average adult is more likely to be juggling morning errands with kids in tow, an afternoon at the pool or beach (where just packing the bag feels like its own herculean task), followed by a sports game and barbecue—all in one day. (I'm getting tired just thinking about it.)

That's exactly where Firework Freeze comes in. The brand-new 5-hour ENERGY flavor is a love letter to the classic Bomb Pop, reimagined as a 1.93 fl oz shot. Every sip delivers that same nostalgic three-flavor experience: bold, juicy cherry that gives way to a citrusy lime, then finishes with a crisp blue raspberry tang. Since it's sugar-free, you can save those calories for ribs and hot dogs. And the best part? Its compact size makes it perfect to bring on the go—and it won't ever melt in your purse or make your hands feel sticky.

Each shot has 230 mg of caffeine—that's around the same amount in a premium 12-ounce cup of java—and it's also packed with B-vitamins and essential nutrients to help fight fatigue and beat the heat on a 90-degree day.

I tried it myself and it tastes just like the Bomb Pops I grew up with. It's the kind of flavor that immediately transports you back to your childhood summers—except this time, you're an adult with responsibilities and a to-do list. Thankfully, this new flavor will help you tackle it all.

Firework Freeze is available now at the 5-hour ENERGY website and on Amazon. Grab a pack before they're gone—because just like summer, this flavor is only here for a limited time.
