The Forgotten McDonald's Mascot Created Just for This Iconic Sandwich

Mon, 02/23/2026 - 2:15pm

Over the years, McDonald's has introduced a lineup of memorable mascots that reflect different eras of its brand. The most iconic is Ronald McDonald, the red-haired clown who became the face of the company in the 1960s and symbolized fun and family. He was joined by characters like Hamburglar, known for his striped outfit and burger-stealing antics and Grimace, the lovable purple friend that '80s and '90s kids know and love.

In more recent years, the company has shifted away from heavily promoting mascots (with the exception of the Grimace Birthday Meal, which was highly popular in 2025), focusing instead on celebrity collaborations, digital campaigns and the nostalgia-driven return of classic Happy Meal toys.

Is There a Forgotten McDonald's Mascot?

As far as menu items go, McDonald's has kept several staples since its early years, while continually testing new foods—some of which failed and others that earned a permanent place on the menu. The Filet-O-Fish is one of the longest-running sandwiches on the menu. It was introduced in 1962 to attract customers seeking a meatless option on Fridays during Lent. It officially became a nationwide menu item in 1965 and has remained popular ever since. The iconic sandwich features a breaded fish fillet, tartar sauce and a slice of American cheese on a steamed bun.

Despite its long-standing presence on the menu, many have wondered why the Filet-O-Fish never had its own mascot. The surprising truth is that it did—and his name was Phil A. O'Fish. This quirky, light-green fish wore a blue-and-yellow sailor's coat and a yellow hat, both accented by a red sash. He carried a fishing net and promoted the sandwich with the slogan, "For a surprisingly good taste." According to social media threads, many McDonald's fans had no idea Phil A. O'Fish existed (myself included).

Fans React to Learning About the Filet-O-Fish Mascot

And people had a lot to say about it. "Surprisingly good taste, it practically sells itself," said one person. "Maybe they can bring him back in a $12 Happy Meal Super Limited Ultra Extreme Gnarly Edition," one person said snarkily. "Phil A. O'Fish says 'Eat me!' Would seem weird if a cow was a spokesanimal (?) for burgers, no?" joked another commenter.

According to a Facebook post by Greasy News, a 1976 ad featuring Phil A. O'Fish promoted the sandwich as "a real taste treat" for just 45 cents. The promotion also included a Phil A. O'Fish bumper sticker with the purchase of a Filet-O-Fish—available only on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays in March of that year.

"Ads like these make me wish I could go back and try it then. I'm sure a '60s Filet-O-Fish tastes different from today's," exclaimed another fan. "Even the old ads work, because now I want a Filet-O-Fish sandwich," stated one more. "Did they give you a whole slice of cheese back in the day?" laughed another fan.

And while we don't know why McDonald's got rid of Phil A. O'Fish (it's kind of charming, no?), the entire conversation begs the question: Why didn't they name the sandwich the McFish?

The Grammys Once Had a Tie for Song of the Year — and It’s Never Happened Again

Mon, 02/23/2026 - 2:11pm

On Feb. 23, 1978—48 years ago today—Grammy voters made history.

For the first and only time in a Big Four category, Song of the Year ended in a tie.

Instead of choosing a single winner, voters awarded the prize to Barbra Streisand and Paul Williams for “Love Theme from A Star Is Born (Evergreen)” and to songwriter Joe Brooks for Debby Boone's smash hit “You Light Up My Life.”

The Best Song category honors songwriters, not performers. In Boone’s case, the Grammy went to Brooks, who wrote “You Light Up My Life” for the soundtrack of the film of the same name. Boone’s recording of the song spent 10 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the fall of 1977, becoming one of the decade’s biggest hits. But Boone did also win a Grammy that night for Best New Artist.

While Grammy ties aren’t unheard of, they’re rare in the major categories. Since the awards began in 1959, there have been 34 ties across all categories. The most recent came in 2025, when Best Progressive R&B Album ended in a draw between AverySunshine’s “So Glad to Know You” and NxWorries’ “Why Lawd?”

But the 1978 Song of the Year result remains unique.

It is still the only tie ever recorded in a Big Four Grammy category. Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Best New Artist have never produced a split decision.

That year’s Song of the Year field was stacked, with nominees including Glen Campbell’s “Southern Nights,” Crystal Gayle’s “Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue,” Carly Simon’s “Nobody Does It Better” and the Eagles’ “Hotel California.”

Voters simply couldn’t settle on one winner.

The Grammy Awards have produced some unusual tie scenarios over the decades—including a 1981 classical performance category in which violinist Itzhak Perlman effectively tied with himself, taking home two trophies for different concertos—but none have carried the historical weight of the 1978 Big Four split.

Nearly five decades later, that double win remains one of the most surprising moments in Grammy history.

For a full breakdown of every Grammy tie since 1959, see our complete list here.

‘Jerry Maguire’ Star on His Relationship With Tom Cruise: ‘I’m Always Gonna Look up to That Guy'

Mon, 02/23/2026 - 2:01pm

While it's been three decades since 'Jerry McGuire' was released, Jonathan Lipnicki has continued to count on his co-star Tom Cruise for advice in the industry.

"It's this energy I've never felt before, it's his presence it's his drive and his kindness and understanding," he said of Cruise while chatting on the most recent episode of 'Pod Meets World.' "I'm always going to look up to that guy, he has been incredible to me."

Lipnicki, who was just five years old when he scored the role of Ray Boyd, has kept in touch with Cruise throughout the years, mentioning that while they "haven't talked in a bit" the 'Top Gun' star has "great response time" whenever he's reached out.

"I went to his house in my twenties and I met with him and he gave me advice," the 'Stuart Little' star said. "All his advice was about hard work and being kind to others and showing up early and staying late."

More recently, the actor recalled how he reached out via email when 'Top Gun: Maverick' was casting and asked him for an audition.

"I emailed him and said, 'Hey I don't know if you think I'm right for this, but if you think I'm right I'd love to audition for it' [and] he got me an audition."

"I auditioned for a few different roles," he shared. "It didn't go my way, because it wasn't meant to happen, but the fact that he gave me that opportunity and the opportunity he had given me to do 'Jerry Maguire'...he didn't have to but he did.

As for what Lipnicki thinks has solidified Cruise in his mega superstar status?

"I think it's the work ethic," he said. "I think it's the just the drive to bring the best product to the audience. He's not a person who underestimates an audience, he respects his audience, he respects the people who watch his movies so he's going to put his life on the line several times to do that."

However, Lipnicki, who has continued to act and has also pursued mixed martial arts, admitted that he does not receive one of Cruise's holiday coconut cakes.

'Pod Meets World' is hosted by 'Boy Meets World' stars Danielle Fishel,Ryder Strong, and Will Friedle.

'90s TV Series, Ranked 'Greatest Sitcom of All Time' is Trending on Netflix

Mon, 02/23/2026 - 2:00pm

What's the deal with Seinfeld?

In an article published by GQ last summer, the magazine revealed what they thought were the Top 15 greatest sitcoms of all time. Many iconic shows made the list, such as Community, 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, Friendsand more, but this TV show was crowned the No. 1 spot.

Seinfeld, which aired on NBC for nine seasons from 1989 to 1998, followed a fictionalized version of the actor Jerry Seinfeld (himself) and his three best friends George Costanza (Jason Alexander), Elaine Benes (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) and Cosmo Kramer (Michael Richards), and their lives in New York City. Described as "a show about nothing," each episode often focuses on the characters' daily lives and moments of stand-up comedy from the fictional Jerry Seinfeld that are related to the episode's events.

Now on Netflix, Seinfeld has maintained a consistent and high viewership on the streaming platform since it was added in October 2021. The series moved to Netflix after its previous deal with Hulu expired. According to What's On Netflix in 2022, the sitcom is set to leave the streaming service this year unless a new deal can be struck.

Produced by West/Shapiro Productions and Castle Rock Entertainment, the show was largely written by its showrunner and comedian, Larry David, Seinfeld and other writers. Seinfeld is regarded as one of the greatest and most influential American TV shows of all time, with many of its quotes and catchphrases still used in pop culture today.

The sitcom revolutionized comedy by shifting its focus from family dynamics to the often mundane, petty details of everyday life. In addition, the show had a "no hugging, no learning" policy, which meant that the characters would not grow or learn lessons, breaking that traditional sitcom mold. Seinfeld also pioneered the "A-B-C-D" plotline we see in most TV shows today, meaning that the writers weave multiple stories in each episode.

Many other iconic sitcoms were also inspired by Seinfeld, including David's Curb Your Enthusiasm, which takes on the same observational humor and unscripted format that Seinfeld had. Other shows included It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, How I Met Your Mother, Corner Gas and The League.

Legendary '80s Rock Singer Impresses With Elton John Cover

Mon, 02/23/2026 - 1:55pm

"Sir Elton Joe" is back with an improved cover of "Rocket Man" that has Def Leppard fans raving.

Joe Elliott proved once again that if you put him in front of a piano, he will gladly play Elton John songs. This time around, the piano was in tune, and he sounded great in an Instagram Reel shared on Monday, Feb. 23.

This is an improvement from August 2025, when Elliott shared a late-night hotel room performance, which featured a very out-of-tune piano. In his newest video, the Def Leppard singer asked the camera, "Remember that night in the hotel where I got everything wrong?"

Then, he started playing and singing "Rocket Man" perfectly before admitting this go-round was "much better and sober, that helps."

The caption said, "Elton Joe makes a most triumphant return."

Naturally, Def Leppard fans were impressed with Elliott's performance, and the comments section quickly filled up with praise.

One commenter gushed about Elliott's "perfect natural vocal and one of the only boys in the game this long that can still do it."

"You are so good at Piano đŸŽč Joe," another wrote.

A third chimed in, "Yes, we remember that video 😂 up until 3am trying to get it right 😂."

They aren't the only ones to remember that late-night serenade, and another wrote, "He’s redeemed himself. You can tell he’s been practicing 😆."

Def Leppard Is Hitting the Road in 2026

Right now, Def Leppard is nearly done with a 12-show Las Vegas residency that runs from Feb. 3 through Feb. 28. This is their third Las Vegas residency, and this time around, they are playing at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

After the iconic '80s band finishes the Las Vegas shows, they head out on an expanded tour that will take them to India, Sweden, Germany, France, and the UK, before wrapping things up in Dubai on August 2.

These upcoming shows are in addition to last summer's tour alongside Bret Michaels, Extreme, and The Struts that ran from May through August 2025.

Pop Icon Just Made Music History With 14th No. 1 Hit

Mon, 02/23/2026 - 1:33pm

She's done it again.

On Monday, Feb. 23, Billboard confirmed that Taylor Swift's "Opalite" hit the No. 1 spot on its Hot 100 chart, marking her 14th single to do so. Now, Swift is tied with Rihanna for the third-most Hot 100 No. 1s ever behind The Beatles (20) and Mariah Carey (19).

The track, which is featured on Swift's latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, was inspired by Swift's soon-to-be husband, Travis Kelce.

"When we go through something that doesn't work out, we oftentimes look at it as this major setback, like we've taken a step back," she said during an interview with Hits Radio. “But I’ve found that so many of those instances in my life can catapult you forward in growth, in wisdom, in perspective."

"Opalite' is a song about forgiving yourself for having gone through something that didn't pan out the way you wanted it to. It's giving yourself permission to not have it all figured out or not marry the first person you ever dated," she continued.

According to Billboard, "Opalite" is the second song off of TLOAS to top the Hot 100 chart. The first being "The Fate of Ophelia," which was a record for Swift as it stayed on top for 10 weeks.

"Opalite" initially peaked at No. 2 following its October 2025 release.

One of Metal’s Biggest Bands Is Saying Goodbye at 'Louder Than Life' Fest

Mon, 02/23/2026 - 1:33pm

One of thrash metal’s most influential bands is preparing to take its final bow—and fans will have a rare chance to witness it live.

Megadeth has announced it will retire after more than four decades, with founding frontman Dave Mustaine confirming the band will release a 17th studio album and embark on a multi-year global farewell tour. For metal loyalists, that means every upcoming date carries extra weight—including a major stop at Louder Than Life 2026 in Louisville, Kentucky.

“Most musicians don’t get to go out on their own terms on top, and that’s where I’m at in my life right now,” Mustaine shared in his August 2025 announcement. After 40-plus years of touring and shaping thrash metal alongside peers like Metallica and Slayer, Megadeth is choosing to close the chapter deliberately.

The band is slated to headline Thursday night at Louder Than Life, sharing the bill with Iron Maiden and Pantera. Notably, the Kentucky festival will also host one of Pantera’s only U.S. performances of 2026, making opening night a historical night for heavy-metal.

And Megadeth isn’t the only act bringing emotional stakes to the four-day event. Circa Survive recently revived its long-dormant Instagram account to announce a reunion performance at the festival, marking its first show since going on “indefinite hiatus” in 2022. The Anthony Green-led band—formed in 2004 and known for albums like Juturna and On Letting Go—had not played together in five years, making their Saturday set another major draw.

Louder Than Life 2026 will feature nearly 200 bands across seven stages, including My Chemical Romance, TOOL, Limp Bizkit,Gojira, and Danny Elfman, making it the largest lineup in the festival’s history. The fest takes place from September 17–20, with passes already on sale. Four-day GA tickets start at just $1 down through payment plans, while single-day, VIP and the ultra-premium Angel’s Envy Top Shelf VIP options are also available in limited quantities.

Tim Gunn Shares Heartbreaking Reason for His 43-Year Celibacy: 'It Would Just Take the Desire Away'

Mon, 02/23/2026 - 1:33pm

Project Runway'sTim Gunn opens up about what's led him to decades of celibacy, and it all has to do with a past long-term relationship that didn't end on good terms. The judge reveals how the breakup changed him and how he "still remembers the night that it all ended."

While appearing on an episode of Chelsea Handler’s podcast, Dear Chelsea, he spoke about his prior nine-year relationship in Washington, D.C. Gunn admitted he loved the unnamed person "deeply" and "would do anything for him."

Looking back at that fateful night, Gunn said they were in bed watching the hit series M*A*S*H when his former partner turned to him and said, "I have no patience for you any longer. I want you to leave." He added that, while having his own apartment, they had been living together for years.

"I drove to my apartment on Rock Creek Parkway, and I had to pull off because I was hyperventilating. I was beside myself with self-flagellation and self-pity, and it was awful," said Gunn.

The heartache of the breakup didn't end there, seeing as his former partner was also a coworker and revealed he had been cheating during their relationship. For Gunn, the betrayal ran deep, seeing as he had remained loyal for nine years and now ran the risk of a sexually transmitted disease.

"One of the things that he told me that night was that he’d been sleeping with just about everything that walked by, and I had been loyal and faithful to him. He was the only person I’d ever been with," he said. "The self-pity then turned to completely unbridled anger because I thought he may have given me a death sentence. Of course, and I was tested every six months for ten years for HIV, and thankfully, I had a clean slate."

Related: ‘Bridgerton’ Star Yerin Ha Sets the Record Straight on Her and Her Co-Star’s Personal Lives: ‘We Don’t Owe an Explanation’

Becoming celibate was a result of the breakup, with Gunn revealing that when getting into a possible relationship that could be serious, "all this would come back like Niagara Falls, and it would just take the desire away."

The Project Runway judge added that living alone and being celibate took some adjustment, but now realizes he wouldn't have it any other way. In his career, Gunn has not been photographed or seen with a partner or the person he's describing. In a prior interview about his celibacy, Gunn said he's a "fulfilled individual" and made the decision during a rise in AIDS in the gay community.

Dunkin’ Is Testing a 48-Ounce Cold Beverage Bucket and Fans Want It Nationwide

Mon, 02/23/2026 - 1:29pm

Dunkin’ is testing a massive 48-ounce “Cold Beverage Bucket” at select locations in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Customers are already demanding it go nationwide.

According to MassLive on February 21, the special drinks are served in a bucket with a special lid, handle, and straw. There is a refresher option, as well as two coffee options.

The caffeine content of the coffee variations is already causing some commotion among customers online. While the caffeine content of the refresher version would still be relatively modest, the cold coffee versions could be in the neighborhood of 500-600 mg for the bucket.

The Mayo Clinic suggests that up to 400 mg of caffeine a day "seems safe for most adults."

Prices for the Dunkin' buckets appear to start at $8.89 for the coffee options and $9.49 for the refresher, though prices do vary somewhat by location.

Rolling Out notes that the buckets come pre-filled. That means that they are not created as ordered per a customer's customizations. For now, it seems only 10 stores total are trialing the Dunkin' bucket drinks. At this stage, Dunkin' has not publicly announced details regarding the testing or timeline for the buckets' availability.

View this post on Instagram

Early interest in seeing the Dunkin' buckets go nationwide seems to be massive.

"That's what I want when I say I'd like a large ice coffee," declared one customer on Instagram.

"Make this nationwide!!! I promise all the first responders, medical professionals and med students need it," begged another Instagram user.

Someone else joked, "@dunkin so dreams really do come true?"

"EXCUSE ME?! @dunkin please get these NATIONWIDE - I love the bucket idea," an additional response on Instagram read.

Someone else shared a photo they snapped via the Dunkin' subreddit and wrote, "BUCKETSSS 600mg caffeine so be careful lowkey." The poster added, "0.8% chance in finding them [right now] it's nuts."

The same Reddit user also expressed their hope that the buckets can be refilled, although that doesn't appear to be an option via Dunkin' at this time. In response to a different Reddit user suggesting that the bucket looked small, the poster replied, "It's not I promise. It's the size of my head."

"It's wild that it's real," another Reddit user declared.

Quite a few Redditors expressed their awe that the Dunkin' bucket drink is a real thing and plenty were dismayed they can't purchase them in their location.

'Star Wars' Star, 80, Says This Aspect of His Iconic Character Was a 'Nightmare'

Mon, 02/23/2026 - 1:28pm

Actor Anthony Daniels, 80, says portraying the iconic Star Wars droid, 3-CPO, wasn't exactly easy.

ReMind Magazine reported that Daniels discussed his beloved character in an interview forIcons Unearthed: Unplugged. In the February 2026 interview, Daniels shared how 3-CPO's golden look came to be. The actor said that after it was confirmed he'd be starring in 1977's Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, he was taken to North London's Elstree Studios to get cast in plaster to make 3-CPO's costume. He recalled having to take off his clothes "in front of two strangers" as "buckets of Plaster of Paris" were poured over his body to "make a mold."

"It was a weird experience," said Daniels in the interview.

He said once a cast of his body was made, the props crew created 3-CPO's costume primarily out of fiberglass.

"They put it on me, piece by piece by piece, and gradually, I really kind of felt I was losing my humanity. I was clamped into this. And then they did have a camera turning. And for about 10 minutes or so, I wobbled around this workshop, crashing into things, smashing things. And then they took it off," continued Daniels.

He said he felt relieved when he was able to take off the costume.

“It was a relief, you know? Ten minutes, 15 minutes, felt like a lifetime, a nightmare. I couldn’t see anything. It’s no wonder I crashed into stuff," said the British actor during the interview.

Anthony Daniels Shared How the Crew First Reacted to C-3PO on Set

Daniels made similar comments about C-3PO's suit in a 2020 interview with Wired. He said that being placed into the costume right after his cast was made "was horrible."

"I had completely lost connectivity with my body, the world. I literally blundered around the studio because I couldn't really see apart from the eyes in the center and I had no idea what my elbows were doing, which were way bigger than my elbows, my shoulders were bigger, my legs were kind of trapped," said Daniels during the Wired interview.

He also said that he was unable to rehearse in the suit before the production of Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope began in Tunisia for the scenes in Tatooine. According to Daniels, connecting and securing the different pieces of the costume to his body was a two-hour process.

"I never saw it again until a month later. There out in a tent in the desert and there were all the pieces, 17 pieces I think, laid out and gradually, over a two-hour period, they covered me in this gold," recalled Daniels while speaking to Wired.

Daniels also shared that the crew looked at 3-CPO with amazement.

"That first day, when I walked out into the desert, nobody had ever seen that shape, that figure before and through the little pinhole eyes, I could scan all the people in front of me, the crew who were standing as the morning sun rose up over the desert and their reaction was extraordinary," said the actor to Wired.

Daniels reprised 3-CPO for several Star Wars projects, including The Star Wars Holiday Special (1978), Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980), Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983), Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999), Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002), Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005), Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015), Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017), and Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019).

Firehouse Subs Just Added Its First Permanent Sandwich in Years, and Fans Say It 'Looks Divine'

Mon, 02/23/2026 - 1:25pm

Big menu changes do not happen often at Firehouse Subs, which is why this latest addition has fans paying close attention. The firefighter-founded sandwich chain is known for sticking to its hearty classics, so when something new lands on the board, it feels like an event. Loyal customers have been sharing their excitement online, calling the newest sub “divine” and saying it might be their next go-to order.

The new Chicken 'N' Cheddar Rancher Sub is officially the first permanent sandwich Firehouse Subs has added in three years. That alone makes it a big deal. Even better, it packs a whopping 49 grams of protein in a medium size, making it one of the heartiest options on the menu. The sandwich layers premium grilled white meat chicken, crispy bacon, melty cheddar cheese and a brand-new herb-forward buttermilk ranch created just for Firehouse Subs.

What Makes This Sub Stand Out

At the center of the sandwich is Firehouse Subs' new grilled chicken. The brand says it is crafted for noticeable char and savory depth, giving it a bold flavor that feels more elevated than your typical chicken sub. Add smoky bacon and rich cheddar cheese, and you already have a winning combo. But the real star might be the ranch.

The new buttermilk ranch is described as herb-forward and creamy. It was developed exclusively for Firehouse Subs, which means you will not find this exact flavor anywhere else. The result is a classic chicken, bacon and ranch combo that feels upgraded and indulgent. No wonder fans are calling it divine.

When and How to Try It

There is a small catch for eager customers. The Chicken 'N' Cheddar Rancher Sub first launched as a loyalty-exclusive in the Firehouse Subs app and online. It will be available to everyone in restaurants and for delivery starting March 2, just ahead of National Ranch Day on March 10.

For those who love a protein-packed meal, the 49 grams in a medium sub is a major selling point. It is filling enough for lunch or dinner and feels like a treat without straying too far from the comfort food Firehouse Subs is known for.

Beyond the flavor, there is another reason fans feel good about ordering. A portion of every purchase helps support the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, which provides lifesaving equipment and resources to first responders. That means every bite gives back in a meaningful way.

Bravo Star Shares Candid Details on Recurring Health Issue Impacting Her Life

Mon, 02/23/2026 - 1:16pm

Former Summer House star Paige DeSorbo opened up about a chronic health issue she faces every four months. In a recent episode of the Broad Ideas podcast with Rachel Bilson and Olivia Allen, the reality star revealed that she struggles with recurring urinary tract infections (UTIs), describing them as "debilitating."

“I also get so many UTIs, like chronic UTIs, so if I ever slept with someone and got a UTI, I was like, ‘I’m sorry, we’re not compatible," she told the hosts.

As Allen revealed that she faces the same health issue, DeSorbo shared "the most recent thing" she's been doing to reduce the number of UTIs she experiences each year.

"My most recent thing that I have been doing is I take a cranberry supplement twice a day and then I take a oregano supplement. And I’m usually on a pretty — like, every four months I’ll get one. February I should get one but I haven’t yet. I don’t want to jinx it but also like, I’m trying this new regimen out," she shared.

The Giggly Squad podcast co-host then added, "We need a cure."

She continued, “And then I’ll have girls that DM me that have never had a UTI before in their lives, and they’ll be like, ‘Is this just a normal thing that you’re walking around with during the day?’ And I’m like, ‘They are so debilitating.' In college, I used to be able to go to class, go to do whatever. As I got older, they would truly debilitate [me]. I wouldn’t be able to move off of the toilet literally, I’d have to pee every four seconds.”

In the same podcast interview, DeSorbo also revealed her decision to freeze her eggs, saying that the choice has given her "a peace of mind."

"I’m a big proponent of freezing your eggs. I just feel like — even if it doesn’t work or something happens, it did give me a peace of mind immediately when I went and did it," she told the hosts.

"When I went to freeze my eggs, one of the whole spiels that they tell you is they can see exactly when you were the most fertile. And I think it’s like you’re 21, 21 to 25 or something. I’m like, ‘Why wouldn’t anyone say, ‘Hey, freeze your eggs now and then you don’t have to think about it for 15 years?’” She continued.

Speaking on her podcast with co-host Hannah Berner in January 2025, DeSorbo shared why she decided to freeze her eggs. Her decision also came around the same time she split from Southern Charm star Craig Conover.

“When I first decided to freeze my eggs, it wasn’t like, ‘Oh my God, my career!’ I genuinely thought that at 32 I would have a kid,” she said. “But always in the back of my head I was, like, what if I get to 39, 40, and I’m like, ‘Wait, I want one more’
Now it’s different, I need it as a security
but it is making me relax a little bit though, knowing that I’m doing it.”

“I think the biggest lesson is just never give up, and you have to keep trying," Williams told The Associated Press in an interview article published on Monday. "As a CEO, you don’t win everything. You have to make really hard decisions. Just like in sport and in tennis, you have to show up every day. You might lose, but you just have to show up again the very next day."

How Matthew McConaughey’s Pantalones Tequila Fueled a Million-Margarita Milestone at Sea

Mon, 02/23/2026 - 1:11pm

There was a time when christening a ship was a somber, superstitious ritual — a bottle of champagne broken against steel to appease the gods of the sea. But recently the ritual met the  21st century. When the the cruise shipStar Princess was named recently, the vessel wasn't blessed with wine or prayer. Instead, Camila and Matthew McConaughey smashed a bottle of their own Pantalones Reposado tequila against the hull.

The result of this new maritime tradition was on full display last week in Cozumel. Aboard the Princess Cruise's Regal Princess, the crew orchestrated what can only be described as a logistical feat: selling 3,410 margaritas in a single eight-hour window. It was a new Guinness World Record, a burst of salt and lime delivered to the 3,560 guests who were part of the experience. Camila and Matthew sent a video message, congratulating Princess Cruises, its crew, and guests for making history at sea, a detail that the brand said "was met with loud applause throughout the ship."

The party marked a milestone for the cruise line. Over the last year, Princess Cruises has moved over one million of these 24K Margaritas across its fleet. The ship's bar has been rebranded as the Love Line, a curated inventory of A-list liquid assets—Jon Bon Jovi’s rosĂ©, Liev Schreiber’s whiskey, and Elizabeth Banks’ canned wine.

In a statement, Sami Kohen, the line's VP of Food and Beverage, said the travelers loved being a part of the "storytelling and easygoing adventure." Kohen went on to add, "celebrating one million 24K Margaritas and making history with a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title on National Margarita Day, captures the incredible spirit and enthusiasm our guests brought to create this unforgettable moment at sea – and now, they’ll forever be part of this unforgettable chapter in Princess history."

The brand hopes to keep party vibe going after the record-making milestone. On the sun deck, the "Alright, Alright, Alright" ethos aim is to delight travelers. According to the cruise line, custom carts roam the ship like high-end outposts, dispensing jalapeño-infused "Hot Pants" and "Sea Legs" cocktails to thousands of people. The vibe is meant to conjure nostalgia for a Texas backyard, scaled up for a global audience.

The champagne is gone. The agave has taken the bridge.

1983 Classic Ranked ‘Scariest Book Ever Printed’ Became Stephen King’s Most Frightening Work

Mon, 02/23/2026 - 1:11pm

There is nothing better than a book that leaves you hanging off the edge of your seat, and no one does it better than the horror king himself, Stephen King.

Last October, Shortlist ranked the 50 greatest horror books ever printed, compiling a list of some of the most bone-chilling novels ever written. Unsurprisingly beating out both William Peter Blatty's 1971 novel The Exorcist at No. 3 and Thomas Harris's book The Silence of The Lambs at No. 4, Stephen King took the top spot with Pet Sematary.

Published in 1983, the book follows Dr. Louis Creed, a general practitioner who moves his family to Ludlow, Maine. After they arrive, the family's neighbor, Jud Crandall, introduces them to a pet cemetery in the woods where local children go to bury their dead companions.

While it seems innocent at first glance, just beyond the cemetery lies an old Mi'kmaq burial ground which allows people to bring dead things back to life. After a series of unfortunate accidents, Dr. Creed, ridden by grief, uses the burial ground to bring some things back to life, setting off a disturbing and unnatural sequence of events.

Despite King's initial reluctance to publish the novel, it reached massive amounts of commercial success immediately after its release. Within the first few months of release, the 374-page book sold over 750,000 hardcover copies in the U.S., becoming a New York Times bestseller for 32 consecutive weeks.

In 1989, the novel's first film adaptation was produced, bringing the horrifying story to the screen. Since then, the book has been adapted two more times, with a modern remake releasing in 2019 and a prequel releasing in 2023—solidifying the story as a cultural phenomenon.

Pet Sematary wowed readers with its slow-burn atmospheric horror. The book explored themes of grief and parental guilt while holding the capacity to disturb readers to their core. Even King, who has made a living writing about gruesome death, is disturbed by what he wrote.

"I just had the greatest time writing the book until I was done with it. And I read it over, and I said to myself, "This is awful. This is really f—ing terrible," said King to Entertainment Weekly in 2019.

Widely credited with elevating psychological horror themes in the modern genre, Pet Sematary remains relevant today. Its brilliant exploration of dark, visceral themes and nail-biting suspense makes it a timeless novel, terrifying and captivating modern readers the same way it did in the '80s.

According to the brand, the campaign intends to "celebrate the versatility of MAC." Shot by photographer Richard Burbridge, each icon stuns in both a natural look and a full-glam moment, showcased side by side.

"With this campaign, we're celebrating two iconic brands coming together. I wanted to highlight the true versatility of MAC. We've long been known for bold makeup, but that's only part of the story. This campaign reveals the full spectrum of who we are, from soft, barely-there everyday beauty to unapologetic, bold glam, portrayed side by side," said MAC Cosmetics global creative director Nicola Formichetti in a statement.

Along with the gorgeous photographs, MAC Cosmetics will also be sharing a breathtaking video component as part of the campaign.

Chappell's look was created by Andrew Dahling, and Lilly Keys did Gabbriette and Quenlin.

"The look that we created for Sephora is a nod to the iconic 90s MAC mug! Timeless and impactful, this look highlights Chappell's encapsulating eyes and showcases some of MAC's most iconic lip shades," said Dahling in a statement. "It is an homage to an era of glamour that has lived on forever, and created a phenomena of cult classic shades that we still go back to decades later. It's a bit unexpected for Chappell Roan, as we often use an array of color, but to celebrate MAC's newest venture in the world market of beauty, we wanted to create a look that honored MAC's legacy as a brand, by and for everyone."

Each icon wore a different lip combo for each look. The details are as follows.

Olympic Gold Medal–Winning U.S. Women’s Hockey Team Declines Trump’s State of the Union Invite

Mon, 02/23/2026 - 1:09pm

The White House invited the U.S. women’s hockey team to President Trump’s State of the Union address following their Olympic gold medal win, but the players said they will not be attending.

The announcement comes a day after the president jokingly told the U.S. men’s hockey team that he would be “impeached” if he didn’t also invite the women’s team to White House festivities.

A USA Hockey spokesperson told NBC News' Monica Alba on Monday, Feb. 23 that the team was grateful for the recognition, but the players are unable to attend due to prior commitments.

“We are sincerely grateful for the invitation extended to our gold medal–winning U.S. Women’s Hockey Team and deeply appreciate the recognition of their extraordinary achievement," the spokesperson said. "Due to the timing and previously scheduled academic and professional commitments following the Games, the athletes are unable to participate."

The U.S. women won gold on Friday, Feb. 20 with a 2-1 overtime victory against Canada, taking home their first gold medal in eight years.

The U.S. men also won a 2-1 overtime match against Canada on Sunday, Feb. 22. In locker-room celebration videos following the victory, FBI Director Kash Patel phoned in President Trump, who then proceeded to make the joke about the women's team.

“We’ll just have some fun, we have medals for you guys. And we have to — I must tell you — we’re going to have to bring the women’s team, you do know that,” the president said. “I do believe I probably would be impeached [if I didn’t].”

The president also offered to coordinate military aircraft to fly the men's team to Washington, D.C. for the State of the Union on Tuesday.

Neither the White House nor USA Hockey have commented on the president’s remarks thus far.
