Fan-Favorite Collectible Brand Is Heading to TV, Film and Animation
All Funko fans: your favorite collectible is taking a leap from shelves to screens.
The popular pop-culture collectible brand is set to expand its territory into films, television, and animated content. To achieve their ambitious dream, the brand is teaming up with Rideback – the production company that brought to life the LEGO Movie franchise, Lilo & Stitch, and Netflix's Avatar: The Last Airbender – along with AI-enabled creation tool company Spuree.
y Warner Animation Group
The content partners have agreed to work on a range of Funko-inspired projects, including animation, hybrid animation/live-action, as well as scripted and unscripted content.
While details remain thin on exactly how individual projects will unfold, the deal is described as one that “is designed to unlock new storytelling opportunities rooted in Funko’s globally recognized brands and deep fan engagement, while building scalable franchises that can live across screens, platforms, and other consumer touchpoints.”
“Funko sits at the center of fan culture, turning the moments people love into collectible characters, with more than one billion products in the hands of fans worldwide,” said Funko CEO Josh Simon in a statement shared exclusively by Variety.
“Rideback’s unmatched ability to transform beloved toys and characters — like Lego & ‘Lilo & Stitch’ — into expansive, emotionally resonant stories makes them an ideal partner. Together with Spuree, we’re excited to open a new chapter of storytelling for Funko fans everywhere,” he added.
Apparently, this isn’t the first time we have been hearing about such a Funko-inspired project. A LEGO Movie-style project has long been in gestation at Warner Bros., though it eventually stalled and faded into limbo.
This new partnership, however, signals renewed momentum, with a specific project detail expected to be announced soon.

Meryl Streep in Mamma Mia! 3? Universal Exec Teases Her Return: 'We’ll Find a Way'
When Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried joined forces back in 2008 for the musical Mamma Mia!, everyone knew it would be nothing short of exemplary – and it certainly was. Almost two decades later, here we are swirling around the conversation of a threequel, this time in hopes of seeing Streep don the role of Donna Sheridan again.
For those who can’t recall what happened to Donna: Streep’s character didn’t return in the 2018 sequel, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, following her untimely demise one year prior to the events of the film due to unspecified illness.
Universal Pictures
In conversation with Deadline during the BAFTA 2026 Awards, NBCUniversal Entertainment chairman Dame Donna Langley first confirmed the revival of the franchise, saying, “Yes, I’m going to say right now that there will be a Mamma Mia! 3.”
She then added a hopeful update regarding Streep’s return: “If Meryl Streep would like to come back, we’ll find a way to bring her back.”
Naturally, this invites a lot of questions, like how her return will be executed if her character is canonically dead, or whether the plot might take place before the events of the sequel. For now, however, it’s simply too early to tell.
Langley also shared that the studio is in conversation with Judy Craymer, the original producer behind the musical film, regarding the new installment.
Finally, with the project being in the early stages of development, there’s no release date yet. “We’re talking about it,” updated Langley.

Miss J. Alexander's Friend on Creating GoFundMe After Doc, 'He Kept It Private'
Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model highlighted how the modeling competition was made before ending after 24 seasons. Tyra Banks stopped talking to some of the judges, and they talked about it in the Netflix documentary. Miss J. Alexander revealed he had a stroke in 2022, and she didn't visit.
A friend created a GoFundMe to help cover the medical expenses for his recovery. One person questioned the timing of this since it didn't happen immediately after his stroke.
Steven Grossman Says He Wanted to Respect Miss J. Alexander's Privacy View this post on InstagramTalent manager Steven Grossman posted a gallery of photos of himself and Miss J. hanging out with other famous people on Instagram. "Most people know these folks as judges - for me they are foremost my friends," read the caption. "None more so than the incomparable #MissJ who has been a strong force in my life for almost 20 years." He wrote, "So if Miss J ever made you smile or laugh - I hope you will consider donating or sharing with your community."
A person asked, "Why are you just now starting it if he’s your foremost 'friend'?"
"Because he kept it private for years until the Netflix documentary came out and it wasn’t my news to share," the manager replied.
"So why didn’t he say that in the documentary?" the same person asked.
"Who says he didn’t? Ask the editors and producers. And who cares. It’s his story to tell and for him to ultimately decide when he was comfortable sharing it," Grossman answered.
The fundraising page has a goal of $50k for round-the-clock care and help with the on-going physical and speech therapies. There has been $18,117 raised by February 23. Miss J. was in a wheelchair while filming the documentary. The runway coach has made progress and can get out of the chair by himself, according to Jay Manuel.
'Days of Our Lives' Star Reveals Story He Wants to Revisit
Thaao Penghlis, who portrays Tony DiMera on Days of Our Lives, recently revealed the storyline he would most like to revisit, and it doesn’t involve Tony at all.
Penghlis discussed his history with the soap during an interview with Pop Culture Radio, where he reflected on his early days on Days of Our Lives, the actors he worked with, and his podcast The Lost Treasures.
Penghlis first joined Days of Our Lives in 1983, and has returned to the series multiple times over the decades in various roles.
During the interview, Penghlis was asked which storyline from the soap opera’s past he would most like to revisit. “Probably Andre the clown,” he responded.
In 2007, Penghlis portrayed Tony’s doppelgänger cousin Andre DiMera in a storyline that saw Andre dress as a clown and terrorize Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney). The performance earned Penghlis a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor at the 2008 Daytime Emmy Awards.
Penghlis explained why the storyline stood out to him, saying, “I loved upsetting people.”
He then described the mindset behind those scenes, explaining “Sometimes you do scenes and you have such pleasure, especially when you're a villain, and you have such pleasure in upsetting the actress, but what you get out of them is a good performance.”
He continued, “You know, it's not like you're being nasty or anything. It's just you understand their vulnerabilities in the areas that are boundaries that you sometimes try to break and be at the edge and then they get very nervous with it. So, it creates this tension between you.”
“So that storyline I liked a lot.”
Penghlis got his start on daytime dramas in 1981 on the ABC soap opera General Hospital where he portrayed the role of Victor Cassadine, and was heavily involved in the Ice Princess storyline which saw his brother Mikkos attempt to freeze the world, but was challenged by Luke (Anthony Geary), Robert (Tristian Rogers) and Laura (Genie Francis).
The actor also appeared on the 1988 reboot of Mission: Impossible as well as series such as Santa Barbara, Hart to Heart and Magnum, P.I.
Days of Our Lives streams weekdays on Peacock.
Elvis Presley Details His Deepest 'Fears' in Intimate 50-Minute Unearthed Tape
Four years after releasing the feature film Elvis, director Baz Luhrmann has returned to theaters with a documentary driven by a newly uncovered 50-minute audio tape of Elvis Presley.
The recording features the notoriously private performer speaking openly about his life, beliefs and personal fears.
Scrapping the Standard Documentary PlaybookEPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert opened exclusively in IMAX theaters on Feb. 20, 2026, and expands to a general theatrical release on Feb. 27. The project abandons the standard format of utilizing talking historians to explain the musician's life.
Luhrmann pivoted the entire production upon discovering the audio recording. The director noted that Presley was famously guarded during public interviews, making this unfiltered tape a massive breakthrough. The recording allowed the musician to act as his own narrator, transforming the concert documentary into an emotional autobiography.
Unearthing Silent Treasure in a Salt MineThe production pairs the new audio with visual materials located in a Warner Bros. film archive housed inside a salt mine in Kansas. The massive archive contained 68 boxes of 35mm and 8mm film. This included outtakes from the 1970s concert films Elvis: That's the Way It Is and Elvis on Tour.
The discovered footage was visually pristine but completely lacked sound. Luhrmann and his team spent two years painstakingly syncing the silent footage to existing audio sources to bring the stage performances back to life.

Finding the Man Behind the SequinsWhile Presley's voice anchors the narrative, the director incorporated memories from individuals who knew the performer intimately. The film features stories from childhood friend Sam Bell, who recalled Presley's early years growing up in poverty and his enduring kindness.
The documentary relies on these personal anecdotes to add weight to the restored concert footage. The soundtrack also features updated live mixes of songs like "Suspicious Minds" and a newly restored performance of "Burning Love".
EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert is currently playing in select IMAX theaters and will be available nationwide later this month.

Tom Hanks to Play Abraham Lincoln in New York Times Bestseller Adaptation
He's played but Walt Disney, Mr. Rogers and other real-life icons — but never a U.S. president. That's about to change, however, for Tom Hanks.
The two-time Oscar winner, 69, is set to play Abraham Lincoln in the live-action/stop motion animation hybrid movie Lincoln in the Bardo based on the New York Times bestseller and 2017 Booker Prize-winner of the same name by George Saunders, Deadline reports.
Hanks will also produce the project through his Playtone label with partner Gary Goetzman. The Forrest Gump star will portray a live-action version of the 16th president known best for abolishing slavery and leading the country through the Civil War.
Author Saunders, 67, is adapting his novel for the big screen with Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Duke Johnson (Anomalisa) set to direct and produce, Deadline also reported.
Lincoln in the Bardo will reportedly employ a unique blend of stop-motion animation and live action to explore one of the most intimate moments of Lincoln's life, centering on his relationship with his recently deceased 11-year-old son. The movie will explore themes of love, empathy, and human capacity in the face of grief as the story unfolds through an ensemble of characters, both living and dead, historical and invented, per Deadline.
Earlier this month, Hanks' granddaughter Olivia Hankshit the red carpet at the Grammy Awards at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles along with grandmotherRita Wilson for music's biggest night.
Olivia, 15, whose father is actor and director Colin Hanks, looked chic at the Grammys in a navy blue dress that tied over one shoulder with shimmering rhinestone beads. Her dark brown hair was tied back, except for two front dangling strands.
Wilson, 69, looked equally as stunning for the big event, wearing a NET-A-PORTER exclusive Jenny Packham embellished tulle gown covered in shimmering sequins and paired with gray fingerless gloves. Check out their photo below.

"There are so many fine actors….I don’t know," he answered. "George C. Scott."
Grobel then asked Pacino if he remembered the ending scene of The Hustler, where Paul Newman’s character walks out of the pool hall and Scott's character suddenly screams, “YOU OWE ME MONEY!” Pacino finished the phrase for the journalist and then described the film as a "very strong movie."
American actor, Al Pacino, in London, 25th March 1974.Scott was also a well-decorated actor who was best known for his various films throughout the 1960s and 1970s. Some of his well-known films include Patton, Anatomy of a Murder, The Hustler, The Hospital, Dr. Strangelove, The Day of the Dolphin, Movie Movie, Hardcore and The Exorcist III. "There was once a great actor named George C. Scott. He was on stage in the Delacourt Theater in Central Park, where they do Shakespeare every summer, and he was playing Shylock in The Merchant of Venice. At one point, he took the robes he was wearing and just started flipping them up in the air, out of nowhere. And later, an actor said to him, 'What was that, George, what were you doing?' And he said, 'They were sleeping,'" Pacino explained. "You’re always trying to catch them... Part of the behind-the-scenes stuff is to loosen you up, to make you feel that you are experiencing this. This is my style, I did it in Looking for Richard, too. And I figure, if I can weave it into the actual play and get the audience interested, like the robes going up and down, they’ll pay attention long enough to consume it."

Why Helen Mirren Has Loved 'Stripper Heels' for Decades
When Helen Mirren steps onto a red carpet, she always makes sure a pair of "stripper heels" is within reach. These sky-high shoes, ranging from six to ten inches, have become her ultimate confidence booster. A surprising fact not many have known about The Queen star.
Sitting front row at Erdem’s fall 2026 show during London Fashion Week, she shared the tidbit with British Vogue, including when she got her first pair.
"Stripper heels is what I like, ideally," she began. "In my early days in LA, you know, the awards things, and there would be all these actresses like Nicole Kidman and these beautiful, tall, thin, gorgeous actresses, and I’d be this dumpy little five-foot-four thing amongst them.”

She noted that back then, towering heels weren't trendy, so tracking down a pair was a challenge.
“Platform heels were not in fashion. So the only place I could find a platform heel was in the stripper shops on Hollywood Boulevard,” she shared. “It was $39.99, my first pair of stripper heels, and they worked like magic. Suddenly, I was up there eye to eye with [five foot 11] Nicole Kidman.”

‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ Star Gets Candid About 'Life-Changing' Injury: 'I Looked Like the Joker'
Actress Gabrielle Carteris, arguably best known for her role as Andrea Zuckerman in Beverly Hills, 90210, says she endured a "life-changing" injury.
During an appearance on a February 2026 episode of Still Here Hollywood Podcast w/ Steve Kmetko, Carteris said she got injured while "shooting a film in Canada" during the early 2000s. She said she "was the female lead" of the movie and was acting in a scene with "a guest player," who was playing a home invader. Carteris said the scene called for her character to be lifted and dragged "down these stairs" by the guest player, whom she described as being 6 foot 6. According to Carteris, the individual "was very hyped up and he kept lifting [her] up over and over and over again." Carteris said she requested him to stop touching her "because he kept lifting [her] by [her] neck."
"Then a day or two later, I started like losing the feeling in my face," said the 65-year-old actress.
She said that while she was "getting ready for a scene" for the movie, she looked at her reflection and realized "part of [her] face [wasn 't] moving." In addition, Carteris said she began "getting headaches" and "was in a lot of pain."
According to Carteris, her face completely changed while she was on the film's set.
"I looked like the Joker. It was so disfiguring and it was a form of palsy," said Carteris in the February 2026 interview.
She then said that her "body started to convulse," and the set doctor was brought in to check on her. After it was recommended for her to go to the hospital, Carteris decided to fly home to be with her husband, Charles Isaacs, and their two daughters. She recalled feeling embarrassed while at the airport, as "people were staring at [her]."
"I was so like really deformed and I couldn't talk," said the actress.
Carteris said she eventually went to UCLA's Movement Disorder Clinic to "help [her] get [her] speech back and to help [her] body." In addition, she said she "did a lawsuit that took almost nine years."
"I won that lawsuit. It helped to change some laws in Canada," said Carteris in the podcast episode.
Carteris also said that the experience, which she described as "life-changing" and "very humbling," influenced her role as SAG-AFTRA president from 2016 to 2021.
'I think what it did is informed really my belief in labor and unions," said the actress, who appeared on the first five seasons of Beverly Hills, 90210, which premiered in 1990.

The transition between seasons often sparks a natural desire to refresh our living environments, sweeping away the old to make room for the new. Decorating a home is far more than a simple chore; it is an emotional exercise in curation and personal expression. We constantly seek out those specific accents that reflect a sense of renewal—items that catch the morning sunlight through a window or add a pop of personality to a neglected corner. The true challenge for any home stylist, however, is finding that perfect equilibrium between high-end aesthetics and a practical, everyday budget.
In the modern world of interior design, the "high-low" mix has become a celebrated strategy for creating a space that feels both sophisticated and approachable. Professional decorators frequently pair their larger investment pieces with whimsical, affordable finds to ensure a home feels lived-in rather than like a sterile showroom. This philosophy has fueled the massive popularity of curated "treasure hunt" sections within major retailers, which serve as a creative sanctuary for DIY enthusiasts. Finding a hidden gem that looks significantly more expensive than its price tag is a distinct victory for anyone looking to stay on-trend.
Bullseye's Playground Glass Vessel Egg, $5 at TargetTarget
One of the most exciting finds currently making waves among savvy decorators is a charming Glass Vessel Egg for decorative flair found tucked away in the famous Bullseye's Playground. Priced at a remarkably low $5, this seasonal staple has become a favorite for those who value both style and savings. It features a vibrant, multicolored design that draws the eye and injects a sense of energy into any room. Whether it is placed on a sun-drenched windowsill or nestled into a mantle display, the colors play beautifully with the light, making it a versatile addition to your seasonal home decor collection.

The construction of this piece is equally impressive, as it is crafted from durable plastic and glass. This hybrid of materials ensures that the vessel remains sturdy while maintaining the delicate, translucent beauty of artisanal glassware. It is truly perfect for adding a touch of elegance to a spring-themed tablescape or serving as a sophisticated centerpiece for a brunch gathering.
Because the Target Glass Vessel Egg is available in-store only, it has gained a bit of a "collector" status, prompting shoppers to visit their local locations frequently to secure one before they disappear. This $5 find is a testament to the idea that elevating your home's atmosphere doesn't require a massive investment, only a keen eye for quality and a bit of luck in the aisles.
Why Ryan Murphy Chose Naomi Watts to Play Jackie Kennedy in 'Love Story'
Casting directors of Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette had the tough task of casting actors to play the American icons. Ryan Murphy is the executive producer of the FX show, but Connor Hines created the series. There is one casting decision Murphy, 60, made, and that's who should play Jackie KennedyOnassis.
How Naomi Watts' Jackie Kennedy Is Different on Love StoryThe role is a hard one since many actors have played her before. Natalie Portman was nominated for an Oscar for her role in Jackie. Jaclyn Smith and Blair Brown were nominated for a Golden Globe for playing her on television. Jeanne Tripplehorn earned an Emmy nomination playing the First Lady in Grey Gardens.
Naomi Watts previously played Babe Paley in the Murphy project, Feud: Capote vs. The Swans. He knew he wanted her back to play the matriarch. "I love her Jackie O," executive producer Nina Jacobson told Town & Country. "It feels different than anybody else's you've seen, but much more true to people say they recognize the voice, the intonations, but she feels like a mom who loves her kids, who's like at a different time in her life than we're used to seeing her. And I think that the complexity, the depth that Naomi was able to bring, it breaks my heart."
Watts shared a clip of her performance on Instagram. Jackie advises her son about the delicate balance of living in the public eye. "We grew up in people's living rooms," she told him. "They feel like they know us, that we're a part of their family. Which is why whenever we do anything unseemly or at odds with their perception of us, they lash out with an even greater fervor."
They tried to get unknown actors to play the titular couple. That led to a wide search before picking Sarah Pidgeon for Carolyn, and Paul Anthony Kelly for Kennedy Jr.
New episodes of Love Story will be released on Thursdays.
Savannah Guthrie's Mom Latest Update: DNA Findings Will Be 'Conclusive,' Even if They Take Months, Experts Say
Savannah Guthrie's mom, Nancy Guthrie, has been missing for more than three weeks. Authorities have yet to identify a suspect or suspects and do not have a person (or persons) of interest and, so far, there haven't been any signs of Nancy, 84. Authorities believe that Nancy may have been abducted from her home in Arizona in the middle of the night on Sunday, Feb. 1.
Investigators have found DNA inside Nancy's home that was sent to a lab for evaluation. However, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said that the DNA is mixed—meaning that it contains DNA from more than one person—which has complicated and thus prolonged the process of getting those results. And while Nanos has said the process could take months or even a year, experts say that whenever those DNA results come in, they will be "conclusive."
"If I was the kidnapper, I would be extremely concerned right now, because using investigative genetic genealogy, he will be identified. It’s just a matter of time," genetic genealogy expert CeCe Moore told NBC News.
Meanwhile, genetic genealogist and CEO of Othram Inc. Dr. David Mittelman explained the process to the outlet. Once the DNA is separated, it will be converted into code and then entered into a database that has millions of DNA samples and "500,000 genetic markers."
"In the worst-case scenario, it’ll connect you to a very close relative, and the best-case scenario gets it to your person," Mittelman said.
It now seems as though identifying the person or persons behind Nancy's disappearance heavily relies on this process. But the watching world could have some answers. It's just a matter of time.
