Morning routines can turn into self-care rituals that put you in the headspace to take on the day. They can also be something you plow through groggily with a cup of coffee in hand. We're not here to judge either approach, but gastroenterologists say there are things you can add to your morning routine to set yourself up for a good gut day.

"Your morning routine can quietly set the tone for your gut for the entire day," says Dr. Ami Behara, MD, a gastroenterologist with Endeavor Health. "Your digestive system is especially responsive in the morning, so what you do can support smoother digestion."

Another gastroenterologist agrees that morning is a critical time to rise and help your gut shine.

"The gut responds directly to your daily rhythms," explains Dr. Vikram Tarugu, MD, a board-certified gastroenterologist and founder of the Wellington Digestive Institute. "Sleep, stress, the way you move and your diet all influence your microbiome and digestive function. When you understand that connection, gut symptoms stop feeling random."

Dr. Tarugu says our daily habits can work for or against our guts. Ready to wake up to the idea of building a morning routine that supports your digestive system? It's a good idea to take it one step at a time if you're new to a morning routine that doesn't involve groggily turning on your coffeemaker, or if your current habits aren't the best for your gut health. We asked three gastroenterologists to share the best first step, and they all agreed on the same morning habit.

The Best Morning Habit for Gut Health, per Gastroenterologists

Gastroenterologists agree that the best morning habit for your digestive health is to drink water soon after waking up.

"Drinking water in the morning does a lot for your short-term health, Dr. Tarugu tells Parade. "First, it helps to rehydrate the gut lining. Assuming you’re getting eight hours of sleep, that’s eight hours without fluids, meaning your intestinal lining is dry. Drinking water helps to restore that protective layer so that food can move through comfortably."

Dr. Behara says the well-hydrated intestinal lining doesn't just help food pass through your system; it also helps your body absorb key nutrients more efficiently.

Of course, at some point, something (aka poop) has to come out. Thanks to water, it'll come out more easily.

"Adequate hydration is important for avoiding constipation," explains Dr. Adam Pont, MD, a gastroenterologist with Medical Offices of Manhattan and labfinder.com contributor. "Not consuming enough water can certainly lead to constipation, especially if you tend towards constipation at baseline."

Dr. Behara adds that water helps move stool through the colon by activating the muscles in your intestines to contract. The result? "Easier, more regular bowel movement," she says.

If you make this habit stick, it can become almost second-nature, which is good if you're someone who drags in the morning, and it can provide long-lasting gut health perks.

"Drinking water every morning trains your gut to work better over time by building regular bowel patterns, supporting a healthier gut lining, maintaining a microbiome balance and reducing chronic digestive issues," Dr. Behara says. 

When you habitually drink water in the morning, you'll likely notice that you're more regular. You'll protect your gut and keep it balanced."It's a small habit, but it creates a consistent signal that keeps your digestive system running smoothly," Dr. Behara adds.

Indeed, water intake is consistently linked to less constipation.

How Much Water Should You Drink Each Morning?

"In general, 8 to 16 ounces—1 to 2 cups," Dr. Behara advises. "This range is enough to kickstart your gut without overwhelming your system."

Dr. Tarugu shares similar sentiments. "I recommend two standard glasses within the first half hour to hour of waking up, so about 16 ounces," he says. "If you struggle with constipation, warm or room-temperature water might be more effective at stimulating gut motility than drinking ice water."

When you drink your water can also matter. "I also recommend drinking water before you have your first cup of coffee or before you have breakfast," Dr. Tarugu states. "Coffee is a diuretic, so hydrating first gives your gut a head start."

3 More Great Morning Habits for Your Digestive System

Drinking water is an excellent and foundational morning habit. But you can build from there. GI doctors share three more morning habits that can improve your gut health:

1. Eat a fiber-filled breakfast

"Americans do not get enough fiber in their diets," Dr. Tarugu states.

You can put yourself on the path to meeting your fiber needs through breakfast foods that are easy to keep on hand, like oatmeal, berries and spinach in an omelet or smoothie. Dr. Tarugu says these foods will "help to feed the beneficial bacteria in your colon."

2. Get moving

It doesn't have to be anything high-impact, but Dr. Behara suggests moving your body in the morning. "You can take a short walk, stretch or do light exercise for 5 to 15 minutes," she says. "Movement stimulates your intestines to contract, which helps to move gas and stool along.  This allows for easier and more regular bowel movements and less bloating."

3. Stay calm

Try to ease into your day. "Avoid rushing-try deep breathing or sunlight," Dr. Behara suggests. "Stress can slow or upset digestion, and a calm state tells your gut that it's 'safe' to function normally."

At the end of 2025, President Trump announced agreements made between the U.S. government and pharmaceutical companies to lower the costs of GLP-1s. The goal was to make the drugs (used for diabetes and weight loss management) more accessible. So far, GLP-1s have become more accessible thanks to these agreements as well as the introduction of oral GLP-1s for weight loss. 

As the number of people being prescribed a GLP-1 continues to grow, you may be wondering if the supply will run out. If you are currently taking a GLP-1, whether it’s for diabetes management or weight loss, you may be concerned that the more people who are prescribed a GLP-1, the harder it will be for you to attain your medication. After all, there have been severe GLP-1 shortages in the past.

“According to the Food and Drug Administration, semaglutide and tirzepatide are no longer in shortage as of February 21, 2025. However, dulaglutide and liraglutide are considered in shortage currently,” explains Dr. Erika Gray, PharmD, a pharmacist and the founder and chief medical officer of Toolbox Genomics. That means, if you take Trulicity (dulaglutide), Victoza or Saxenda (liraglutide), you could have a hard time getting your prescription this spring.

Even though Wegovy, Ozempic and Mounjaro are not in short supply right now, future shortages aren't off the table. “As GLP-1s become more and more popular and there are additional indications, I think we will see these shortages come and go for the next few years,” Dr. Gray says.

How Pharmacies Navigate GLP-1 Shortages

Dr. Taylor Clark, PharmD, a clinical assistant professor of pharmacy practice at Binghamton University, State University of New York, says that pharmacies handle GLP-1 shortages in several different ways. 

“If the pharmacy is still able to obtain a limited stock but not enough to meet the demand of their patient population, they may manage a wait list for the medication that tracks all patients waiting for the drug in chronological order,” she explains.

If that isn’t possible, Dr. Clark suggests the patient transition to an alternative medication. Another way pharmacies navigate shortages, Dr. Gray explains, is by giving partial refills that will hold patients over until additional shipments of the drug come in.

Both pharmacists say that patients with a medical necessity are prioritized during a drug shortage. “For example, GLP-1s are used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes or weight loss. Those with type 2 diabetes who are reliant on this medication for lowering their blood sugars would likely be prioritized,” Dr. Gray explains.

Questions To Ask Your Pharmacist and Other Tips for Managing GLP-1 Shortages 

It’s completely normal to have questions during a GLP-1 shortage, and it’s helpful to know what questions pharmacists can and can’t answer. Dr. Gray says that some questions you can ask your pharmacist during a GLP-1 shortage are: 

• Which GLP-1 medications are in short supply?
• Which GLP-1 medications are not in short supply?
• Will this shortage affect my own access to my GLP-1 medication?
• If my GLP-1 medication is in shortage, can I switch to an alternative?
• Can we use a different strength?

To answer these questions, the pharmacist may have to consult your doctor, but together they can work toward a solution until the medication is back in stock.

Is It Safe To Take a Compounded Medication Instead?

If the type of GLP-1 you take is in short supply, you may be wondering if it’s safe to take a compounded medication instead. A compounded medication is a drug created by a pharmacist when a commercial, FDA-approved drug is not suitable for the patient or available. It’s important to know that compounded medications are not approved by the FDA.

Dr. Gray warns against taking a compounded GLP-1. “The American Diabetes Association strongly advises against the use of non-FDA-approved compounded GLP-1s because there is uncertainty about their contents and quality. Since the compounded products are not FDA-regulated, their safety and efficacy may not be the same as what is expected with the FDA-approved products,” Dr. Clark says. 

If you are going to take a compounded GLP-1 during a shortage, Dr. Gray suggests using a 503A or B pharmacy that has certificates of analysis for their products.

Another thing you should not do during a GLP-1 shortage is to lower your dose in an effort to make your medication last longer. If you have had to taper your dose down due to a shortage—which should only be done if your doctor advises it—she says not to jump right back to your original dose when the shortage is over. Instead, work with your doctor to titrate up to your original dose.

When GLP-1 shortages occur, your doctor and pharmacist can answer any questions you have and will work together to manage your care. Drug shortages may be frustrating, but they are temporary. Doctors and pharmacists are trained to know how to bridge the gap during shortages until the supply is steady once again. Instead of troubleshooting on your own, allow them to guide you.

If you're not an iPhone user, chances are there's an Android in your pocket.

Some customers may have already caught wind of the class action lawsuit Google has been battling. Either way, all that seemingly came to an end when the corporation agreed to a $135 million settlement recently, to resolve claims that it used Android devices to transfer information to Google without user permission, consuming cellular data, Top Class Actions reports.

The Google class action settlement benefits consumers who have used mobile devices running the Android operating system to access the internet through cellular data networks since Nov. 12, 2017, and those who are not class members in a similar lawsuit, Csupo v. Google LLC.

Under the terms of the Google settlement, class members can receive a cash payment. Exact amounts will vary depending on the number of participating class members and the amount each class member paid for cellular data while using Android devices.

According to the settlement website, there are approximately 100 million class members. Each class member is expected to receive the same amount from the settlement fund, but exact payment amounts are not available at this time.

According to the class action lawsuit, Google’s Android operating system caused devices to transfer information to Google without user permission. The transfers allegedly took place in the background, even when devices were idle and not in use, Top Class Actions also noted earlier this month.

The plaintiffs in the case say that Google could have made these transfers happen only when devices were connected to Wi-Fi — but instead chose to use cellular data. The unauthorized use of cellular data allegedly violated the law and required Google to compensate users for the cellular data used for its own benefit.

Google has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to the $135 million settlement to resolve the allegations.

The deadline for exclusion and objection to the class action settlement is May 29, 2026. The final approval hearing for the Google settlement is scheduled for June 23, 2026.

This week, however, the 66-year-old is making headlines again after being spotted on a rare Los Angeles outing, looking vastly different from how many remember him. And it’s not because of his age either.

In the photos, Nelson can be seen sporting a scruffy, bushy gray beard with specs of black, while rocking a motorcycle helmet and sunglasses. The actor was wearing camouflage pants, a long blue coat, motorcycle riding gloves, and had a backpack flung over his shoulder.

It was his breakout performance as rebellious bad boy John Bender, who falls for prom queen Claire (Molly Ringwald) in The Breakfast Club, that put Nelson on the map.

Nelson also starred inSt. Elmo's Fire,another major Brat Pack hit, playing clean-cut, Alec. The character was very different from Bender, but he was far from perfect, with his infidelity one of his biggest flaws.

St. Elmo's Fire reunited Nelson with his The Breakfast Clubco-stars Ally Sheedy and Emilio Estevez, as the mega hit film also starred McCarthy, Rob Lowe,Demi Moore, and Mare Winningham.

Some of his other notable roles include films such as New Jack City, Billionaire Boys Club, and Blue City. In the late '90s, Nelson scored a TV gig as Brooke Shields' boss, Jack, in the sitcomSuddenly Susan.

Most novels come with chapters, paragraph breaks, and, well, many, many sentences. Ducks, Newburyport offers none of that, and judges at one of fiction's most prestigious prizes called it a masterpiece anyway.

Lucy Ellmann's Ducks, Newburyport, a novel of more than 1,000 pages written mostly in a single sentence, won the 2019 Goldsmiths Prize, a British literary award given annually to fiction that 'breaks the mold or extends the possibilities of the novel form.'

The novel's main character is an unnamed middle-aged woman who lives in Newcomerstown, Ohio. What unfolds is a stream-of-consciousness meditation on life, memory, motherhood, and the randomness of everyday experience, captured as she bakes pies in her kitchen. The stream of thought pulls in everything from shopping lists and parenting anxieties to climate change and gun culture, building up over 1,000 pages.

The continuous stream-of-consciousness is interrupted only by short episodes involving a mountain lioness and her cubs, told by a separate narrator. These interludes use more conventional narrative structure, with multiple sentences and a focused story. The lioness roams West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Ohio searching for her cubs after they are taken by humans.

Judges chair Erica Wagnercalled the novel 'that rare thing: a book which, not long after its publication, one can unhesitatingly call a masterpiece,' saying Ellmann 'remakes the novel and expands the reader's idea of what is possible with the form.'

Accepting the award, which comes with a cash prize, Ellmann said, 'It's a lot of money for one sentence and it may make me write a few more.' You have to love that level of wit.

The book's publishing journey was also unconventional. It was published by Galley Beggar Press in Norwich, England after being rejected by Ellmann's regular publisher, Bloomsbury. North American publishing rights were acquired by Windsor, Canada-based Biblioasis.

Ducks, Newburyport was also shortlisted for the 2019 Booker Prize, the Orwell Prize for Political Fiction, and the Saltire Prize, and went on to win the 2020 James Tait Black Prize.

Ellmann was born in Illinois and moved to England as a teenager. She lives in Edinburgh. Her debut novel, Sweet Desserts, won the Guardian Fiction Prize.

For readers who've powered through long 'realist' novels before, like Infinite Jest or Anna Kareninas, Ducks, Newburyport still presents something genuinely different. The meandering length itself seems to be part of the book's whole point.

During Paramount’s presentation at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, it was announced that everyone’s favorite aviator is back for Top Gun 3.

Tom Cruise will be reprising his role as Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, the skilled naval aviator and pilot in 1986’s Top Gun and 2022’s Top Gun: Maverick. Jerry Bruckheimer is also back to produce the film.

“Top Gun 3 officially in development with a script underway, reuniting Tom Cruise and Jerry Bruckheimer,” Josh Greenstein, Paramount film co-head, said on Thursday.

Jay Ellis, who played Reuben “Payback” Fitch in Top Gun: Maverick, hinted to US Weekly last year that Top Gun’s third film was in the works.

“So here’s what the story’s going to be. It’s going to be payback. No, no [I’m kidding],” Ellis jokingly said during the 2025 Independent Spirit Awards. “In all honesty, they’re still working on the script. They’re still working on the story. They’re wanting to get it right.”

Ellis told US Weekly that Top Gun 3 would need to enhance the story lines already established in the first films.

“[It’s also about] really making sure that this story is not done just to make a movie, but made because these characters are going to make people lean in,” Ellis said.

According to Variety, Top Gun: Maverick became the highest-grossing movie of Cruise’s career at $1.49 billion. Fans couldn’t get enough of the sequel, which won one Oscar for Best Sound and was nominated for six Academy Awards.

A director and release date for Top Gun 3 have not been announced yet. Stay tuned for more details to come.

In March 2021, the world was still very much reeling from the pandemic. We were slowly clawing our way back to normalcy, but the fear and uncertainty around the disease and its seemingly endless possible symptoms made it the scapegoat for many illnesses that befell people.

Kyle Donahue, a mom of two, thought her extreme exhaustion was just that. She had just finished a ski trip with her son and felt no different while on the mountain. She drove her younger son home from Vermont and headed to bed. Yet, she still woke up extremely exhausted. She stayed in bed—which was quite uncharacteristic for her—so her husband, Jim, made an appointment at a COVID clinic for the following morning. But by then, Kyle realized she couldn't even get out of bed. Jim noticed she was struggling to get dressed, so he switched from the clinic to the ER.

"My memory started to fade as he drove me, and by the time we got to the hospital, I didn’t remember anything," Kyle tells Parade. "I don’t remember the next 6–8 weeks, but from what they’ve told me, none of us (Jim, James, and William) were in good shape! I had no idea what was going on, and my family was worried about my diagnosis."

A Devastating Diagnosis

Kyle's CT scan revealed that she needed to have fluid drained from her brain. She was told she couldn't remember the year or the president, so her team knew something was very wrong. After she was flown to Boston for the surgery for an external drain, they performed a biopsy. The result was a glioblastoma.

"Patients can have a variety of symptoms based on the location of the tumor in the brain," explains her neurosurgeon, Dr. E. Antonio Chiocca, Chair of Brigham's Department of Neurosurgery. "They could present with seizures, headaches, and/or neurologic deficits such as loss of speech or memory, weakness, or confusion. In Kyle’s case, the location of her tumor led to severe confusion and almost a comatose-like state."

For those not in the know, a glioblastoma is an aggressive type of brain cancer that begins in astrocytes, which support nerve cells. It is the most common malignant brain tumor in adults, but it most often forms in older adults. Currently, there is no cure.

A Hopeful Treatment

However, neither Kyle nor her doctors were ready to throw in the towel. After some speed bumps in approaching how to remove the tumors, Kyle's doctor suggested an innovative clinical trial of CAN-3110 (linoserpaturev).

"It involves an intratumoral injection of the biologic agent," explains Dr. Chiocca. "We perform this in the operating room, but the procedure is so well tolerated that most patients go home the next day or even the same day. We now perform it under local anesthesia with sedation."

Kyle began the trial in February 2022, and for the past 5 years, she has only received positive reports.

"I continue to progress and can feel myself getting back to my pre-cancer self," Kyle says. "Now, I refer to time as BC (before cancer) and AC (after cancer). The clinical trial is definitely working—my blood work is back to normal, my MRIs continue to look good, and I can do many of the activities that I did before the glioblastoma diagnosis. Really, one of the only things I cannot do is ski. If you offered me a choice of skiing or living, I’d have to take living! Jim and I take lots of walks along the coast and through the cranberry bogs in our South Shore town, so that makes up for the skiing!"

Now, Kyle has also immersed herself in the world of art, following her doctor's recommendation to find a hobby she enjoys while she recovers. It became a true passion, and she began selling her paintings to donate the proceeds to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund.

While it is great news that the tumors shrank and the trial seems to be working, Dr. Chiocca says they must remain vigilant.

"Is there a prognosis beyond now, or is this a really rare case? A 5-year survival rate is so rare that we don’t really have a lot of good data to know the answer."

For now, Kyle is seeing it as a huge win.

"I want people to see hope in my story… for themselves, and for family and friends," Kyle says. "Keep smiling, believe in yourself, and trust the care and treatment you receive. Actress Reese Witherspoon, 50, is taking heat after posting an Instagram video encouraging women to learn more about how to use artificial intelligence to protect their careers and make life easier.

"It's time to learn about AI," she began the video on April 15. The The Morning Show star explained that she was surprised to learn that only three of the 10 women in her book club were using tools like ChatGPT and Claude, and she wants to change that.

"That means 70% of that group is not keeping up," she said. "The thing I've learned about technology is if you don't get a little bit of understanding from the very beginning, it just speeds past you. So you have to have little bits of learning just to keep up."

She also insisted that since "our kids are all using this every single day," it's important for parents to understand the tools, too. "I think we should learn the basics together and learn some really good tools that are going to make our everyday lives easier and better," she concluded. "It's time, people."

In the caption, Witherspoon added that she feared for women's careers. "The jobs women hold are 3x more likely to be automated by AI, yet women are using AI at a rate 25% lower than men on average," she wrote. "We don’t want to be left behind."

Many followers were upset by the assertion, and took to the comments to explain why her statement bothered them so much. "We aren’t using it because of the environmental impact that it has!" said one follower, while another wrote, "I hope as a fellow creative and author, you speak about the theft of people's work. Copyright is a huge issue." A third added, "From someone that will never have to deal with living near a data center [face palm emoji. href="https://parade.com/living/emoji-meanings"]"

Other followers were excited to see Witherspoon talking about the topic.Scandal actress Kerry Washington wrote "THIS," while a fan added, "Curious to know more!" Another wrote, "I hate that you’re right about this. But you are."

Action films are not always regarded as high-cinema. However, there are plenty of movies from the genre that are considered well worth viewers' time and attention. Collider recently released the publication's list of the top 10 "most perfect action movies" ever made. The ranking featured classics like Raiders of the Lost Ark from 1981, 1999's The Matrix, Predator from 1987, Mad Max: Fury Road, released in 2015, and Aliens from 1986.

1991's Terminator 2: Judgment Day took home the title of the most perfect action movie of all time. Collider reported that the Terminator sequel deserved the list's number one spot because of its impressive script, written by James Cameron and William Wisher, and thrilling action scenes.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day currently has a score of 90 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

In a 2022 interview with GQ, Cameron shared details about making the Terminator sequel. He said that he was approached to make a second Terminator film in 1990, six years after the first movie premiered. Before writing the script, he wanted to make sure Linda Hamilton, who starred as Sarah Connor, wanted to reprise her role.

According to Cameron, Hamilton told him that she would return as Sarah as long as the character wasn't in the best mental state.

"Her hypothesis was that what she had been through traumatically, and her vision of the future had basically driven her nuts. We eventually modified that so that she wasn't, she was on the edge, but she wasn't really crazy," said the Titanic director in the 2022 interview.

Cameron explained that his final version of Sarah in Terminator 2: Judgment Day "was a victim of trauma," but also "rather coldly calculating," as she was attempting to prevent a horrific future.

In addition, Cameron said that he believed "The Terminator movies were always about our dehumanization of ourself."

"It's not about robots from the future. It's about how we dehumanize ourselves, how we lose our empathy. How a psychologist or a policeman or a soldier can lose their humanity, you know? And [Sarah] becomes the Terminator of that movie," said Cameron while speaking to GQ. "The Terminator, [Arnold Schwarzenegger]'s character is humanized, [but] she has become an inhuman killing machine, except at that brink she steps back. And from then she begins to kind of, her journey back to humanization and to being able to feel, and express love and all that. So there's a whole other subtext going on underneath this kind of rapid fire roller coaster ride of an action film."

A fan favorite Hallmark star is adding a new project to his plate, and it's a somewhat surprising one. Jonathan Bennett, who has led numerous Hallmark projects such as Finding Mr. Christmas and The Groomsmen trilogy, is joining General Hospital.

On April 16, Deadline revealed that Bennett was joining General Hospital. He will play a character named Joe Fitzpatrick, although little is known about who Fitzpatrick is.

Bennett's first scenes on General Hospital will air in May.

General Hospital executive producer Frank Valentini shared in a statement, "We're so excited to have Jonathan joining our cast. He's a tremendous talent and will be a fantastic addition to GH."

This is hardly Bennett's first project outside of Hallmark in recent years. Long before Hallmark, he played the iconic Aaron Samuels in Mean Girls, which also starred Hallmark's Lacey Chabert. He also has been on soaps before, playing JR Chandler on All My Children years ago.

As Hallmark fans know, Bennett is not the first to do double duty with roles on soaps and the feel-good network at the same time. For example, Alison Sweeney has popped up in her on-and-off role of Sami Brady on Days of Our Lives while starring in numerous Hallmark movies.

In addition, Cameron Mathison, who used to appear regularly on the Hallmark Channel, has been playing Drew Cain on General Hospital for several years. Ryan Paevey is following a similar path, recently rejoining the soap. Both Mathison and Paevey are working with Great American Family for movie projects these days rather than Hallmark, however.

After Deadline announced Bennett's General Hospital gig, the actor shared it via his Instagram page, as well. His Hallmark colleagues and fans went wild over the news.

Tyler Hynes, one of Bennett's Groomsmen co-stars and his good friend, commented with a crown emoji. BJ Britt, the third of the Three Groomsmen stars, wrote, "Oooooh yeah!!!!! I'm already in front of the TV waiting patiently!!!"

One person commented, "This is fantastic! You keep striving checking off all your goals and then some!"

Details regarding Bennett's character and how long he'll be sticking around Port Charles on General Hospital should emerge soon. Luckily for Hallmark fans, it doesn't appear there are any signs he's leaving the network. For now, everybody will have to stay tuned.

Hoda Kotb is praising her “strong, courageous, beautiful" Today show co-star Savannah Guthrie amid the ongoing search for her missing mom Nancy Guthrie.

“She feels deep, searing pain, and she shows up,” Kotb told Us Weekly at Sheinelle Jones‘ Through Mom’s Eyes book launch on Wednesday, Apr. 15. “She’s showing that both things can be true.”

“Some pain you carry, you’re not going to explain it away. You just have to go through life with it right in your pocket, and that’s what she’s doing. She’s doing it in a way that I’ve never seen anyone do it before," she continued.

Savannah returned to the Today show on Monday, Apr. 6 after a two-month hiatus following Nancy's disappearance from her Arizona home on Feb. 1.

Kotb said watching her longtime friend walking “out on the plaza” at 30 Rock alongside Jenna Bush Hager is a “beautiful image” that is “seared in [her] memory.”

Kotb filled in while Savannah was away, and she returned to Today earlier this week to cohost with Savannah while Craig Melvin is on vacation.

“When Savannah first walked on the set on Monday of this week, when I was there, she looked at me and she goes, ‘What is this, April of 2025?’” Kotb said. “Then she held me and didn’t let go.”

"I’ve literally been marveling at how she navigates [this]," she added.

Over the past two months, Savannah has shared with fans how her faith and belief in God is helping her as her mother remains missing.

Trader Joe’s Brown Sugar Boba Mochi retails for $2.99 for a 6.35 oz bag. The Taiwanese-made bites are individually wrapped and shelf-stable, so you can enjoy them for weeks on end. 

The social media account Trader Joe’s Obsessed shared the update on their return this year, going as far as to declare that “they are much better than the ones at Costco 👏 .”

"Definitely making a stop to get these!" one wrote, as another in the comments exclaimed, "I LOVE these!!!!!"

In fact, they’ve often come out on top against the Costco version, with Eats By Rachel doing a side-by-side comparison, calling the Trader Joe’s version “super squishy and soft,” noting it “smells like brown sugar, too.”

Survivor 50 is here! Every week, Parade's Mike Bloom will bring you interviews with the castaway most recently voted off the island.

Ever since Chrissy Hofbeck left Fiji eight years ago, she's been craving her next Survivor fix. After all, things ended far from ideally for the Season 35 runner-up, as her game got shaken up by a brand-new twist, leading to her losing next to Ben Driebergen. But, as much as she vowed she's come in as a brand new player, her history seemed to doom to repeat itself. Through a series of unfortunate events, yet again, Chrissy was thrown off with a brand-new twist: The "Double Duo." And, once more, she lost out on a million dollars next to another Ben, though you'd be remiss not to call him by that, lest you earn his wrath.

Of the 24 players that excitedly hit the beaches of Survivor 50, Chrissy perhaps had undergone the biggest transformation. Two years ago, a cancer scare put her on the operating table for a life-changing surgery. Now a survivor in more than one sense of the word, she returned to Fiji with a clean bill of health, rejuvenated and more confident than ever in her tenacity and intuition. After her jury vote loss the first time around, Chrissy was eager to prove her social skills, and did get in early with players like Coach Wade and Jonathan Young. Unfortunately, yet again, she was getting on the nerves of the younger tribe members, who felt like they were being "mommed" by her.

Fortunately, the tribe swap brought Chrissy new faces and new connections to make. Unfortunately, Coach told her in no uncertain terms that she had annoyed the majority of her old tribe, and would have been voted out if they lost. While emotionally devastated, even questioning why nobody liked her whenever she played, speaking to the fortitude that got her back to Survivor, she learned it as a learning experience. And, while Chrissy may have been in danger in the first week of the game, the second week went a lot smoother, as she found a natural group of allies with people like Coach, Jonathan and Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick.

Chrissy woke up on Day 16 worried. Coach had led the charge against Dee Valladres in the last Tribal Council, but his strongarming the split vote had rubbed many people the wrong way. And she was about to learn very soon the damage that comes from being associated with him. A historic twist had the castaways playing in pairs for the day, competing together, using advantages together — and ultimately, getting voted out together. Panicked that a vehement dislike of Coach would seal her fate, Chrissy became the "Dragon Slayer Whisperer," sending him into hammock-centered exile to avoid any more "shenanigans."

But she would have no idea the dragon she would wake up when setting her sights on Rizo Velovic. When Cirie Fields returned from her own exile, she helped rally the troops against Coach and Chrissy, saying it was too alluring not to take out the "mom and dad of the alliance." And their fates were officially sealed in the fires of Tribal Council, as Rick Devens reached into the pit right next to them to procure the fake idol he had hidden there a week ago. Any plans to go after the duo of him and Aubry Bracco were sent to the Edge of Extinction, causing friend and foe alike to turn on Chrissy and Coach. Despite Coach taking a Shot in the Dark, it did not hit. After having her game end with a jury vote last time, Chrissy would now get the opportunity to try the role herself.

Now out of the game, Chrissy talks with Parade about whether she felt Rick's idol let to her ouster, finding out she was an early target in the game, and what "old wounds" her second season helped heal from her first one.

We have to start with yet another historic twist sprung upon you, Chrissy. When Jeff reveals this twist, and you realize you're paired up with Coach, what was your initial reaction?
To be honest, it didn't matter to me. Because we felt pretty certain that the vote was going to be Rick and Aubry. So the only thing I thought is, does it actually matter if Coach or I win? What matters is that Rick and Aubry don't win immunity. So I think that's sort of where our heads were at the time. That's kind of where our heads were at all the way until the live Tribal Council started, actually, in my opinion.

Talk to me more about that. Because it's a near-unanimous vote against you in the end, and Coach ends up playing his Shot in the Dark, which I'm not sure if you spoke about ahead of time. So, do you feel like Rick pulling out the fake idol changed everything?
So what actually happened is we get back to camp and the votes were really going on Rick and Aubry. I actually didn't want Rick and Aubry to go home; I enjoyed playing with both of them. And I did not enjoy playing with Rizo, and didn't really have that much of a relationship with Emily, so I felt like the votes should go on Rizo and Emily.

We were trying to come up with a way to sort of change the votes to Rizo and Emily. None of that really got shown other than me saying this. Probably because everybody's lying in my face, which is totally fine. But going into it, I think we really thought that everyone was voting for Rick and Aubry. Then Rick pulled that amazing move. And then all of a sudden, we went home. All of a sudden, Coach and I were voted out. So we did not talk about him playing the Shot in the Dark, because it didn't even cross our minds that we were going to get voted for. I actually think I heard that Stephaeie looked over at Coach and whispered, "Play your Shot in the Dark. So he did."

So what's your reaction, then, watching last night's episode and seeing that Cirie seemed to be the one to really turn the tide against you and Coach, saying you were the mom and dad of the alliance and "if we take them out, the children won’t know what to do"?
So first of all, I was really proud that even though I got no edit for the whole season, at least Cirie acknowledged the fact that I was playing the game when she was like, "We have to get out the mom and the dad." I was like, "Okay, at least I got my props!" Literally up until last night, what I thought happened is I thought that Tiffany had swayed Joe during their reward on their meal. On the spaghetti, I thought that Tiffany turned Joe, and the two of them kicked off the Coach/Chrissy vote-out. Until I was watching last night, and I was like, "Oh my gosh, that didn't happen at all." Joe actually turned Tiffany to agree to vote against her friend, Aubry. And then we saw came down to Cirie.

You mentioned Rizo before. I'd be remiss not to ask about why you decided to target him specifically, referencing what he allegedly did with his idol in Season 49 and that he was "slick and faking [you] all."
First of all, Rizo did literally nothing around camp. And we hear that that's part of his strategy. That's not his strategy. He didn't care. He was like, "That's not part of the game, so I'm not going to bother doing it." I at least felt like Rick and Aubry were fun to be around, and were working hard and doing strategic moves and doing things. I didn't see Rizo's game. Obviously, that was all behind my back. So one could say awesome on Rizo.

I remember Rizo came over to talk to me. The first time he came over to talk to me, he's like, "Do you trust me?" And I said to him, "Rizo, I just met you one minute ago. Not yet. Let's spend some time together first." He just kind of rubbed me the wrong way. And obviously I did to him as well, right? He had some choice words for me last night as well. It's fine. There's 24 different personalities in the game.

Let's talk about when those 24 different personalities hit the beach at the very beginning of the game. You spoke with me about how you were eager to prove the allegations that you didn't have a social game from your last time out. But it does seem like your behavior at camp got on some people's nerves and made you an early target. Were you aware of that at all at the time?
Yes. I sort of knew going into the game that I was going to have better luck with older players. I'm surprised me and Mike White didn't really hit it off as well. I don't know why; that's fine. Coach and I were best friends from the beginning. You didn't see any of that, but he and I both were the ones that were married with kids. So I think that's really what bonded us, is talking about that. And then the girls, we called them "Hot Girl Summer." Like, "Where's 'Hot Girl Summer' right now?" It's cute. Tiffany, Dee and Kamilla, they were always together. But it's fine. Like, maybe I wasn't their cup of tea. That's okay. I like me.

Did you try to curb anything at all when you find out that some of the things you were doing around camp were rubbing people the wrong way?
So when Coach told me that, honestly, the tribes had swapped. And now I was in a tribe that actually really liked me a lot. So no. And then I was hanging out with Colby and hanging out with Genevieve, and we got along great. I could just be my normal self. And it's fine. If the original people didn't like my normal self, that's okay.

When Coach tells you that you would have been voted out on Kalo 1.0, you have an emotional moment on the beach, saying that, every time you play, nobody likes you. Talk to me more about that moment, and how you were able to emotionally and strategically recover to carry on in the game.
Good question. It was Day 7 or something. We're tired, we're worn out. I don't know why I cried like that. I was probably just the straw that broke the camel's back, and it just all came out. And then I sat and, of course, had to go through all the annoying traits of every single person on my tribe that never get called out. It's a good thing none of those made air, because I was really not very nice. [Laughs.] And I was like, "Okay, how come I get called out for starting the fire every day or doing mom things when they don't get called out for all this other stuff?" Whatever. It's fine.

Honestly, Mike, I cried about it, and then I got over it. And then I was on a tribe of people that liked me, that really liked me. And I was in the majority alliance. I know I got voted out last night, but I'm not going to look back and say, "Oh, I should have changed my personality or whatever." Maybe I just should have been on a different tribe. Maybe I should have been with other people. Maybe other people should have changed their personality. I don't know.

You mentioned Coach was your best friend earlier. Talk to me more about your relationship.
None of which was shown in the edit, which was so crazy. So Coach and I bonded right away. Again, he was married with three kids. I'm married with three kids. So we could talk to each other about how much we missed our spouse and how much we missed our kids and all that stuff without the other person liking it. Jonathan, also, I would say that three of us were very, very close. But then Jonathan, of course, got swapped onto another tribe.

Coach was my best friend. He would stand up in camp every day and say, "Chrissy is my number one! Chrissy is my number one! Chrissy is my number one!" I said, "Coach, stop saying that. You can't say that." So then he decided he's going to stop saying it. He's going to start saying it to other people, which is so funny, because that's what was shown then on the edit, Coach going to all these people and saying, "You're my number one," and giving them nicknames and all this stuff. But Coach really was my best friend out there. Maybe I was his or wasn't his. It doesn't matter to me. I know how I felt. I love that guy. I love his shenanigans. I think he's so purely himself. And I think it was kind of poetic that we started together, played the whole game together and went out together.

What was it like being the "Dragon Slayer Whisperer" and grounding him to the hammock for the afternoon? Did he stick to the plan?
He actually did. And the day before was so crazy during the Dee vote-out. I think that Coach was even more cCach than even comes across in the edit. He was "haiku-ing" and singing and loud and being crazy. I thought it was awesome and hilarious. Other people were getting annoyed. So the next day I said, "You have to be invisible and sit in that hammock." And I think he did not get out of that hammock for about five hours. Literally, when people wanted to talk to him, they had to go over to the hammock. So, yeah, they were calling me the "Dragon Whisperer." When somebody needed Coach to do something, they'd say, "Chrissy, you have to go talk to him about that."

You mentioned this alliance that you were a part of. It seems like you were working with more of the old-school-minded players, most prominently Coach, Jonathan, and Stephenie. How did that come about? Did you have any other side alliances you were working on?
So definite flaw in my gameplay. When I played 35, I played basically the game by myself. I know I had Ryan Ulrich as my sidekick, but I was really the one who made my own decisions, followed my own intuition, and clawed my way to the end of this game. I really decided that I wanted to do it with someone. And when Jonathan, Coach and I ended up on the merge beach, we're now with Stephenie. And Stephenie swore to us up and down that she had Ozzie and Cirie.

And the flaw in my gameplay was I believed that, and went with that. I did have conversations with Ozzy and Ciri but certainly not enough — I guess, definitely not enough. But I just kind of figured Stephenie had them, so that was part of it. So the flaw was trusting that someone else had something that they didn't. That is not a comment about Stephenie at all. She's still in the game; good on her. That's bad on me for not figuring that out.

You mentioned before about your edit. And you were one of the castaways a few weeks ago who was outspoken about the gender balance of the edit up to that point. So, now that your Season 50 story is done, how do you look back on the story that was told to us about your journey?
Okay, so my comments a few weeks ago were really about the edits of these women overall, just getting very little airtime and getting very negative airtime. For my edit, I got the smallest edit of the entire cast for all the statistics that are run with a number of professionals and things like that. Personally, do I care? No.

I really do wish that some of it was out there. But the reality is, I went out there to play the game. I did not go out there to become an influencer and get up my number of followers. I went out there to have the experience, and now I want to go back to my good life now that this is sort of done. So, yeah, so I don't really care about myself. I am really glad to see that we're seeing more of Emily's gameplay and her thinking. I think that we saw a lot of Dee's ounded story. I think we're seeing more of Tiffany's sort of thinking. So hopefully that will pick up a little bit.

In your final words, you had mentioned that Survivor 50 "healed a lot of old wounds."Talk to me about that. What were those wounds?
Honestly, I came out of the game feeling loved. I really did. I know I got voted out, that's fine, but I came out of the game, and I felt loved. Not by everyone, but we're all different people. It's okay; that's fine. It was good. I felt like people wanted to play the game with me. They cared about me and cared for me when we were out there, so that was great.

I was very bummed out that my final words got chopped off, though. After we got voted out, and Jeff said, "Chrissy, get your torch," I went and got my torch. And before I got to Jeff, I turned around and said to everyone, "It has been a great honor playing this game with all of you. I can't wait to see what happens next." I'm so bummed they didn't show that, because it looks like I just got up and walked off. But, for me, it really, truly was a joyful celebration.

Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie‘s mom, Nancy Guthrie, is still missing more than 10 weeks after she was abducted from her Tucson, Ariz., home—and a retired FBI agent pointed to Savannah while pointing out a simple motive theory.

On April 12, former FBI special agent Jennifer Coffindaffertook to X to summarize what she believes is the most likely motive in the 84-year-old's missing case.

“[Law enforcement] said they know the motive for the abduction of Nancy, and they have known it from the beginning," the NewsNation contributor pointed out. She then listed a straightforward timeline of events at the beginning of the case, including the Feb. 1 abduction, a ransom note sent to local media on Feb. 2, and a random note sent to TMZ on Feb. 3.

"Kidnapping for ransom," Coffindaffer concluded. "Nancy sadly died. The kidnappers didn't care and tortured the family with 2 notes knowing the FBI would not recommend paying a ransom without proof of life."

She added, "Like most cases, this one is simple, but everyone wants to make it complex," also mentioning "Occam's Razor"—a theory that says the simplest explanation is typically correct. "Even the Guthrie family knows."

Additionally, Coffindaffer shared a clip of Savannah explaining that her brother, Camron Guthrie, "saw very clearly, right away, what this was" after their mom went missing. "Even on the phone when I called him, he knew. And he said, 'I think she's been kidnapped for ransom.' And I said, 'What? Why? What?' And the, I mean, it sounds so, like, how dumb could I be. But I just, I didn't want to believe..."

Savannah added, of her conversation with her brother, "I just said, 'Do you think because of me?' And he said, 'I'm sorry, sweetie, but yeah, maybe.'"

Nancy was last seen at her Catalina Foothills home on the evening of Jan. 31. As of writing, no suspects have been named, despite Savannah offering a $1 million reward in exchange for information leading to her mother's recovery.

An iconic home shopping empire is entering a new chapter.

QVC Group, the parent company behind longtime television retail giants QVC and HSN, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The move marks a major shift for one of the most recognizable brands of the cable TV era.

The company disclosed the move in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, outlining plans to continue operating while restructuring its business. Chapter 11 bankruptcy allows companies to reorganize their finances without shutting down, and QVC Group says it intends to keep its operations running during the process.

“As of the Petition Date, we intend to operate our businesses as a debtor-in-possession under the jurisdiction of the Bankruptcy Court,” the filing states. The company added that it plans to request approval for standard motions that would allow it to maintain normal business operations during the proceedings.

While no exact timeline is guaranteed, QVC Group is targeting an emergence from bankruptcy in approximately 90 days.

The filing comes as consumer habits continue to evolve, pulling attention away from traditional television shopping and toward digital platforms. Once a dominant force in retail entertainment, QVC and HSN built their reputations on live, personality-driven sales that turned products into must-have moments.

During an April 15 episode of Brian Entin Investigates, the NewsNation senior national correspondent sat down with Dr. Gary Brucato, a clinical psychologist specializing in criminal behavioral patterns.

Brucato ruled out that the perpetrator was sexually motivated due to Nancy's age, as sexual crimes involving someone breaking, entering, and targeting an elderly person are "profoundly rare."

"When a person is breaking into a home to do that, generally it's a serial offense that somebody is going to keep doing over time and involves a paraphilic behavior, meaning the person is kind of drawn to a certain inappropriate group sexually."

Additionally, Brucato ruled out robbery, as nothing was taken except for Nancy.

"If you're abducting somebody with the intention of putting them up for ransom, ransoms, statistically, generally, are requested within 24 to 48 hours and resolved in a week," he pointed out. "There's proof of life because you want the victim out of your hands ASAP to not incriminate yourself as much as possible."

"Let's say this is actually a homicide," Brucato added, pointing out that up to 92% of of people who are killed in the U.S. know their killer in some way.

"This person who did this probably has some passing relationship, at least, with this victim," he speculated. "And that matches some of the comfort level, potentially spending quite a lot of time in the house."

"If you take all of that information, you put it alongside what we're glimpsing on the camera, what I was very struck by... a lot of what we're seeing is somebody who is way too cool under pressure," Brucato continued. "Not even flinching under pressure. And that kind of person, when we see that, we start thinking about a person who probably has some psychopathic character structure."

He pointed out that the individual likely has a history of inappropriate behavior that people would remember and/or criminal behavior. Additionally, the forensic expert said that the perpetrator was likely local due to his comfort level.

In conclusion, Brucato profiled Nancy's abductor/abductors as "probably at least one male, probably a group of people," adding that they were "probably financially driven." He also said it was either an abduction gone wrong or an outright homicide, with the perpetrators likely being local and having a passing connection to Nancy.

Nancy was last seen at her Tucson home on the evening of Jan. 31, with the Pima County Sheriff's Department and the FBI embarking on the search on Feb. 1. As of writing, no suspect has been named.
