Parade and ShopHQ are both owned by the same parent company. Featured products are selected independently by the editorial team at Parade.

The Titanic is one of the most iconic ships in history. After its tragic sinking in 1912, it later sparked the famous Titanic blockbuster starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. If you’re shopping for gifts for Titanic movie fans or coin collecting dads for Father’s Day, consider the 1912 Titanic Liberty Head Nickel w/ Display Case as a unique and fitting gift. It’s a tribute to the Titanic, and it’s just $20 on ShopHQ. Plus, you can get it with $5 shipping for a limited time when you use code FREERETURN

The collectible includes a Liberty Head Nickel minted in 1912, the same year that the Titanic sank. It’s a genuine U.S. coin, which means it’s not a replica. It’s also special because 1912 is the last year that the Liberty Head nickel was produced. That is an aspect that coin collectors tend to look for.

Use Code FREERETURN on Shop HQ to unlock $5 off shipping for a limited time.

One shopper gave it a five-star review, writing, “love it!” It’s easy to see why. The coin comes in a sealed acrylic display case, which makes it perfect for gifts, particularly because of its sentimental inscription. It reads: “Few 20th-century events are remembered as vividly as the sinking of the Titanic, the largest ship of its time. On April 14, 1912, more than 1,500 people died after the British luxury liner struck an iceberg and sank in the Atlantic in less than three hours.”

The case is 5 inches long, 3 inches wide, and less than an inch thick. So, it’s small enough to display on a bookcase, mantel, or display table without crowding the space. It will also arrive with a certificate of authenticity and 1-year manufacturer's warranty.

'Queen of Noise' Turns 76

Wed, 06/03/2026 - 3:49am

On June 3, rock pioneer Suzi Quatro celebrates her 76th birthday.

Long before women fronting rock bands became commonplace, this trailblazer was breaking barriers as a singer, bassist, songwriter and bandleader. Her string of 1970s hits included "Can the Can," "48 Crash," "Devil Gate Drive" and "The Wild One," while her role as Leather Tuscadero on Happy Days introduced her to an entirely new audience. Today, she remains an active performer more than six decades after first stepping onstage.

Quatro has never been shy about the impact she made on rock music. In a 2012 interview with the Detroit Metro Times, she reflected on her place in history, saying, "I was the first to be taken seriously as a female rock 'n' roll musician and singer. That hadn't been done before. I played the boys at their own game."

She continued, "For everybody that came afterward, it was a little bit easier, which is good. I'm proud of that. If I have a legacy, that's what it is. It's nothing I take lightly."

Born Susan Kay Quatro in Detroit in 1950, she grew up in a musical family and joined her sisters' band, the Pleasure Seekers, as a teenager. After moving to England in the early 1970s, she found success as a solo artist and became one of the defining figures of the glam-rock era, even if she later insisted she saw herself simply as a rock-and-roll performer.

One of the most famous parts of Quatro's image was her trademark leather jumpsuit. In an interview for the BBC documentary Queens of British Pop, she recalled the moment that look came together before "Can the Can" was released.

"When it came to getting an image together for the first photo shoot and for the stage clothes … Mickie said, 'Okay, now we need to get all this together. What do you want to wear?' And I said, 'Leather.'"

When producer Mickie Most argued that leather had already been done, Quatro famously replied: "Not by a woman."

That confidence has remained a hallmark of her career. In March 2026, while promoting her album Freedom, Quatro told BBC Breakfast that she still performs between 60 and 70 shows a year and has no plans to retire.

When asked if she ever thinks about slowing down, her answer was simple: "No."

She added, "It's so much in my blood. When you've been doing it all your life, I don't know what I would do if I didn't have that outlet of going up. That for me is the happiness."

Even after selling more than 50 million records worldwide and influencing generations of artists, Quatro says she still feels a touch of nervousness before every show.

"Every time I go, I hope they like me tonight," she said. "And then the magic happens."

More than 50 years after "Can the Can" made her an international star, the woman Classic Rock Magazine dubbed the "Queen of Noise" is still doing exactly what she loves: getting onstage and playing rock and roll.

Quote of the Day: At 85, Neil Diamond Proves You Can Survive Hard Times

Wed, 06/03/2026 - 2:34am

There are some things in life we never get to choose: the diagnosis we didn't see coming, the door that slams shut in our face, the loss of a loved one. But as they say, the final stage of grief is acceptance—coming to terms with the new normal.

Few people understand that journey better thanNeil Diamond. Born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1941, he discovered his passion for music at 16, after watching folk legend Pete Seeger perform at a summer camp and seeing other campers play their own songs. The same year, he got his first guitar as a birthday gift and began taking lessons. Almost immediately, he started writing his own songs.

A few years later, he left a pre-med path at the prestigious New York University to write songs for $50 a week in New York's legendary Brill Building. His big break came in 1966, when he wrote "I'm a Believer."The Monkees recorded it and it became a No. 1 smash. The timing was perfect, because Diamond was reluctantly stepping out as a recording artist himself.

Throughout his incredible career, Diamond has given us hits like "Sweet Caroline," "Cracklin' Rosie," "Song Sung Blue" and "America." He's sold out stadiums across the globe for half a century. He's a member of both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame—and a recipient of the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. In other words—a living legend.

But in 2018, after 50 years on the road, Diamond stepped away from touring following a diagnosis of Parkinson's disease. For a performer who lived to be onstage, it was a devastating blow—and by his own admission, he spent years unable to truly accept it. Then, slowly, something shifted. And that hard-won acceptance is exactly why Neil Diamond is today's Quote of the Day.

Quote of the Day by Neil Diamond

"This is the hand that God's given me, and I have to make the best of it, and so I am."

Parade/CanvaPro

I love this quote because it sounds simple, but it's so profound. He's saying that accepting the hand you've been dealt is the start of change. If you're going through a terrible time, it's natural to feel overwhelmed by the pain and struggle to come to terms with it. But once you've acknowledged a reality you can no longer hide from, you can start fully living your life again.

Deeper Meaning of Neil Diamond's Quote—The Power of Acceptance

Diamond shared these powerful words during an April 2023 interview with CBSSunday Morning's Anthony Mason, choosing to be completely honest and vulnerable about what he was going through. "In a sense, I was in denial for the first year or two," he said. "When the doctor told me what it was, I was just not ready to accept it."

But over time, he began to. "This is the hand that God's given me, and I have to make the best of it, and so I am," he added. For anyone facing a devastating reality, his words are a gentle reminder that there's strength in making peace with your pain. And that's the start of finding happiness again.

More Quotes From Neil Diamond
  • "I find that I like myself better. I'm easier on people. I'm easier on myself."
  • "And the beat goes on—and it will go on—long after I'm gone."
  • "I've come to accept what limitations I have and still have great days."
  • "I'm an imperfect emotional being, trying to figure out some way to give some kind of substance and meaning to my life."
  • "My songs tend to reflect myself, my life and my attitude about things to one degree or another."

‘South Park’ Creators Reveal Why They Made Trump the Ultimate Antagonist This Season

Wed, 06/03/2026 - 12:30am

South Park creators TreyParker and Matt Stone revealed why they gave President DonaldTrump such a large role in the most recent season of the animated comedy. The duo opened up during a video spot for the 19th Television Academy Honors.

“We’ve always known that our job was, we’re supposed to be the joker. You need that. You need someone just making fun of things,” Parker said. “It’s a great thing to be able to be. And unfortunately, right now, we have a president who thinks his job is to be the joker.”

Stone added, “And so that’s why we dove into the [27th and 28th] season and actually put Trump in there and Jesus and started talking about Christian nationalism and all that stuff. Because we had to let people know, for better or worse, if you like it or you don’t, it’s like, this is us, ok? No one’s telling us [what to do].”

Since South Park premiered in 1997, it has been the subject of many controversies.

“For 30 years, you’ve always had some group trying to tell you what you can and can’t say,” Parker said. “And that group has changed. That group has been liberal. That group’s been Republican.”

The adult cartoon took a two-year hiatus until July 2025, returning with one of its most political seasons yet. The first episode of Season 27 established Trump as the antagonist, portrayed in bed with his lover, Satan.

The South Park creators aim to push back on current events. In a New York Timesinterview, Parker claimed, “politics became pop culture.”

“It’s like the government is just in your face everywhere you look,” he said. “Whether it’s the actual government or whether it is all the podcasters and the TikToks and the YouTubes and all of that, and it’s just all political and political because it’s more than political. It’s pop culture.”

Women Over 35 Love This Sports Drama Heading to Theaters for the Holidays

Wed, 06/03/2026 - 12:20am

Sports movies typically revolve around an awe-inspiring comeback. But are real-life audiences ready for a different sort of comeback — one in which sports cinema returns to the spotlight?

They better be — because come the holiday season, a certain kind of drama that moviegoers haven't seen in a while is heading to theaters. It's based on a true story, with a budget that's not too hefty, according to The Hollywood Reporter. And if you've already seen it, you probably loved it.

In other words, Mr. Irrelevant — starring Superman actor David Corenswet — scored nearly perfectly in test screenings as it prepares for a coveted release date in between the fifth Avengers, third Dune and fourth Jumanji, THR also noted on Thursday, June 2.

The screenings conducted at the beginning of this year saw a score of 95 among men over 35, with a shockingly perfect 100 score among women over 35, and an overall score of 92, according to the entertainment magazine.

The film is about John Tuggle, a running back who was the final pick of the 1983 NFL draft. After landing with the New York Giants, Tuggle played just one season, going on to win the New York Giants Special Teams Player of the Year, per THR.

We'll see what happens when Mr. Irrelevant hits theaters, since test screenings don't always dictate box-office success. Plus, it's been a long time since the following sports films of a similar budget made their mark:

  • Miracle (earning $64 million against a $28 million budget)
  • Remember the Titans (earning $115 million on a $30 million budget)
  • The Rookie (earning $80 million against a $20 million budget)

Meanwhile, on the topic of Corenswet, 32, new details surrounding the upcoming Superman sequel were revealed last month. Fans were excited to learn that Scream alum Matthew Lillard is now joining Man of Tomorrow, though it’s not clear yet what his role will be.

The veteran journalist shared a statement with Deadline, firing back at the network, and expressed that the show has "lost its DNA," adding that the "new owner of our network is casting this legend aside" due to politics.

"The leadership of 60 Minutes is no longer recognizable. The principles I hold dear are gone, and so I must leave as well," Pelley wrote. "I depart after 37 years at CBS with one emotion—a heart brimming with gratitude for the men and women of CBS News who encouraged and enriched my work, very often at the risk of their own lives."

Read Scott Pelley's Full Statement:

There has never been anything in America like 60 Minutes.

The Sunday tradition is the most successful program of any kind in history. For more than a decade, its innovative growth on every major online platform has extended its reach to countless millions around the world. This spring, at the end of our 58th season, 60 Minutes grew rapidly with an unheard-of 9% jump in viewers on CBS.

“60” has been the number-one program in America for decades because our beloved audience finds integrity, quality, and humanity in our stories. When stewardship of the program passed to my colleagues and me, our responsibility was to expand energetically into a new age of media technology while preserving the values our audience expects. Now, the new owner of our network is casting this legend aside, apparently to curry a moment of favor with the Trump administration.

The waste is heartbreaking.

Last month, 60 Minutes lost its DNA when our entire senior leadership and two of our best on-air correspondents were cruelly fired without cause. Good people were silenced because they stood up for our audience. They stood for fairness against the forces of political bias; they stood for professionalism against chaos.

For my part, new management has instructed me to inject falsehoods and bias into a politically sensitive story. I’ve been told to include assertions that are unverified. To date, in every case, I have managed to ignore these instructions or refuse them. Recently, politicians have been invited to choose correspondents for interviews on the broadcast. Giving politicians control over 60 Minutes interviews is not how this is done. Finally, incompetence and unprofessionalism in the new management have wreaked havoc. In a case involving one of my stories, the entire program came within 19 minutes of not getting on the air at all.

At 60 Minutes, we have fought harder than anyone knows to save the program that became an American icon. We owed that to our millions of viewers. I am deeply moved by the thousands of wishes we have received to “keep up the good fight.” Most of the men and women of CBS News are still in that fight. But now the collapse of values at the top has become untenable. The leadership of 60 Minutes is no longer recognizable. The principles I hold dear are gone, and so I must leave as well.

I depart after 37 years at CBS with one emotion—a heart brimming with gratitude for the men and women of CBS News who encouraged and enriched my work, very often at the risk of their own lives. I pray for a day when those people and their ideals are honored again—a day when sanity, competence, and courage return.

Cassie Ventura Reveals She Left the U.S. and Doesn’t Intend to Move Back Following Diddy Trial

Tue, 06/02/2026 - 11:28pm

Following the trial in which she testified against her ex Sean "Diddy" Combs, Cassie Ventura moved out of the United States.

US Weekly obtained court documents on Tuesday, June 2, which showed Ventura saying she's "not a resident of California" in a May 1 filing in her lawsuit against male escort Clayton Howard.

The documents stated that she is living "outside of the United States” and does “not intend to move back." She further added that it will be easier for her to attend court in New York rather than in California.

Combs was indicted on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution in September 2024. Ventura then testified in 2025, speaking about their relationship, which spanned 11 years from 2007 to 2018. In a 2023 lawsuit, Ventura claimed that Combs sexually assaulted and physically abused her, and he denied the allegations before the two ultimately settled out of court.

While she was testifying, Ventura was pregnant with her and her husband Alex Fine’s third child. Fine was by his wife's side as she testified against Combs and shared a statement praising her for her strength afterwards.

“Over the past five days, the world has gotten to witness the strength and bravery of my wife freeing herself of her past,” the actor expressed. “There has been speculation online surrounding how it must feel for me to sit there and listen to my wife’s testimony. I have felt so many things sitting there. I have felt tremendous pride and overwhelming love for Cass. I have felt profound anger that she has been subjected to sitting in front of a person who tried to break her.”

The musician was found guilty of two counts of transportation and acquitted on the remaining charges by a jury, which led to him serving a four-year prison sentence.

If you or someone you know has been sexually assaulted, contact the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-HOPE (4673). If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, please call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233 for confidential support.

What Reba Did on June 3, 1989 Changed Her Life Forever

Tue, 06/02/2026 - 11:00pm

Some dates become footnotes in history. Others become turning points. For Reba McEntire, June 3, 1989, was one of those days.

At the time, McEntire, 71, was already one of country music's fastest-rising stars. She was previously married to Charlie Battles, but the two separated in 1987.

On June 3, 1989, McEntire and her manager, Narvel Blackstock, were married in a ceremony at Emerald Bay. The setting for the occasion couldn't have been much more picturesque. Surrounded by the stunning scenery of Lake Tahoe, the event took place at one of the region's most breathtaking locations.

Against a backdrop of crystal-blue water and towering mountains, family and friends gathered to witness a milestone moment for the country star.

Their partnership would extend far beyond their wedding day. Over the years, Blackstock continued to play a major role in McEntire's professional life, helping guide her career during some of its most successful periods while the two built a family together.

For many fans, the marriage became one of country music's most recognizable relationships. The couple spent more than two decades together, navigating the demands of fame, family and business while remaining fixtures in the entertainment world.

McEntire and Blackstock separated in 2015. "It was a situation that was always business,” McEntire once told Drew Barrymore. "Whether we were getting ready in the morning, pillow talk, whatever, but it was business."

She is currently engaged to Happy's Place co-star Rex Linn.

1970 Rock Classic, Originally Unnoticed for Two Decades, Became a Hit 23 Years Later

Tue, 06/02/2026 - 10:56pm

In 1970, David Bowie released a song that would eventually become one of the most famous tracks associated with his career. At first, however, almost nobody paid attention to it.

"The Man Who Sold the World" appeared as the title track on Bowie's third album. While the record received some positive reviews, neither the album nor the song became a major success at the time. For years, it remained one of the lesser-known pieces in Bowie's catalog, overshadowed by many of the hits he released later in the decade.

That changed more than 20 years later, thanks to an unexpected revival.

In 1993, the influential rock band Nirvana performed an acoustic version of "The Man Who Sold the World" during their appearance on MTV Unplugged. The performance introduced the song to an entirely new generation of listeners and quickly became one of the most memorable moments of the band's career.

The cover's success renewed interest in Bowie's original recording. Many younger fans first discovered the song through Nirvana before later tracing it back to its creator. As a result, a once-overlooked track became one of Bowie's most legendary songs.

Bowie later reflected on Nirvana's interpretation of the song in a 1996 interview, saying, "It's a very sad rendition, of course, because it is so tied up with [Kurt Cobain's] own life and death." He added that the song took on "all these different shades" after Cobain's passing, giving it a meaning far beyond what he originally intended when writing it decades earlier.

Part of the song's lasting appeal comes from its mysterious nature. Built around surreal lyrics and an unsettling atmosphere, "The Man Who Sold the World" invites listeners to interpret its meaning for themselves. The song's dreamlike quality helped it stand apart from traditional rock music of its era and contributed to its enduring fascination.

Over time, both versions have earned praise from critics and fans alike. What began as a commercial disappointment ultimately found a second life decades later, transforming into a rock classic whose legacy spans generations. Few songs have experienced such a dramatic journey from obscurity to cultural significance.
