Country star Jon Pardi has some exciting news for his fans.

The "Last Night Lonely" singer announced via Instagram on Monday that he will be on the road this fall with special guests Alexandra Kay and Sadie Bass. Titled the Gamblin' Man Tour, the lineup of shows is set to kick off in Richmond, Virginia on Sept. 17 and conclude on Nov. 14 in Missouri. Pardi will be performing in various states, including Ohio, Indiana, West Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Idaho, Alabama, Texas, Illinois and more.

"I’m hitting the road this fall with @alexandrakaymusic and @sadiebass__ for the Gamblin’ Man Tour!" Pardi wrote as his caption. "Can't wait to see you out there!"

Pardi, who grew up in Northern California, started writing music when he was just 12 years old, and at 14, he formed his own small band. By the time he graduated high school in 2003, he moved to Nashville to pursue a music career.

He got his big break in 2010 when he was an opening act for Dierks Bentley, another country singer signed to Capitol Nashville. Pardi's debut single, "Missin' You Crazy," peaked at No. 29 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, and he released his first album, Write You a Song, on January 14, 2014.

"This album represents the last four years of my life from relationships to playing music,” Pardi shared with Music Row in 2013. "It’s a fun, upbeat album with songs about life and love."

Pardi's first No. 1 hit happened soon after. In 2015, he released "Head Over Boots," which became his first No. 1 hit on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart. Other songs that have topped the charts include "Dirt on My Boots," "Heartache Medication, "Last Night Lonely" and "Your Heart or Mine."

Since his 2014 album debut, Pardi has released four more studio LPs, with his most recent being Honkytonk Hollywood in April 2025.

"All my albums have been rock and roll with a country flare – this one keeps on rockin’,” Pardi told Country Now while promoting Honkytonk Hollywood last year. “It’s also the most grown-up record I’ve ever made, all my soul basically. Honkytonk Hollywood is for the Nashville that’s in my blood and it’s also a nod to my California roots. And right now more than ever, I hope it’s a way to honor and lift up the people of my home state.”

Pardi embarked on a Honkytonk Hollywood Tour last year, and it seems like the 41-year-old singer wants to keep the party going.

"My fans come to party, they come to have a good time," Pardi told iHeartRadio last October. "The shows have been incredible this year and we're having a blast on the road. So I tell everybody like, 'My job is to take you away from whatever you're going through and you go back home happy.' That's a job as an entertainer, and that's what we focus on."

Presale tickets will go on sale for fans who are signed up on Pardi's email and text lists on Tuesday at 10 am local. Meanwhile, general sale will take place on Friday morning.

Lewis told Davis, 61, that going hungry was a regular part of his early life in Paris. “I think my first like decent money started coming in about a year and a half later,” he recalled.

Until then, he found creative ways to eat. Lewis sometimes swiped a baguette from a bakery, then settled at a sidewalk cafe and used the mustard left on the table to make a simple meal. During the conversation, he revealed he spent months sleeping on floors and surviving on little more than a few basic groceries.

“So there was like a six-month starvation period where I could buy this one cucumber and this piece of cheese,” Lewis said. Despite the hardship, he could now find some humor in how easily he maintained the lean build expected of a model. “It was easy to stay skinny, though,” he added.

Lewis was 32 when he joined Sex and the City in 2003 as Smith Jerrod, the young model who became Samantha Jones’ unlikely love interest. What began as a casual romance soon became one of the show’s most meaningful relationships. Samantha, played by Kim Cattrall, helped launch Smith’s career, while he stood by her through her breast cancer battle.

After his ballroom stint at ABC's Dancing With The Stars, Lewis dropped off the radar entirely. The silence broke in May, when he revealed a move to Costa Rica and a nine-book fantasy series written during his years away, none of it published yet.

"After three years, it was time," he wrote. The mustard sandwiches are long gone. The stories, apparently, are just getting started.

Long before Charley Pride became one of country music's most celebrated voices, he was pursuing a completely different career in professional baseball.

On July 21, 1999, Pride reached another major milestone when he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, cementing his place among entertainment's biggest icons. But years before he was topping the country charts, the Mississippi native had his sights set on making it to the major leagues.

Born in Sledge, Miss., Pride grew up with a love of both music and baseball. While he admired country stars like Hank Williams, he spent much of his early adulthood chasing a career on the diamond, playing professional baseball in the Negro American League and later in the minor leagues.

Although his baseball dreams ultimately didn't lead to the majors, the experience helped shape the determination that would later define his music career.

After turning his attention to music full-time, Pride signed with RCA Records in the 1960s and quickly began making history. At a time when country music had few Black performers in the mainstream, he broke barriers with his unmistakable voice and a string of hit songs that resonated with fans across the country.

His breakthrough came with songs like "Just Between You and Me," but it was classics including "Kiss an Angel Good Mornin'," "Is Anybody Goin' to San Antone" and "Mountain of Love" that turned him into one of the genre's biggest stars.

Over the course of his remarkable career, Pride scored 52 Top 10 hits on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart, including 30 No. 1 singles. During the peak of his success, he became RCA Records' best-selling performer since Elvis Presley, a remarkable achievement that underscored his widespread popularity.

The honors continued to follow. Pride was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2000 and received the Recording Academy's Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017. His influence extended far beyond the charts, helping pave the way for future generations of artists while becoming one of country music's most beloved ambassadors.

His Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony on July 21, 1999, recognized not only his chart success but also the lasting impact he made on American music.

Pride died in December 2020 at the age of 86, but his legacy continues to inspire fans and musicians alike.

Parade asked Mares if there was a simple way to turn cola into a fancy summer drink, and they had the perfect suggestion: a "dirty" rum and cola.

"A good cola cocktail is all about balance. Cola already brings sweetness, bubbles and a lot of flavor, so I like adding ingredients that build on what is already there rather than hiding it," Mares tells Parade. "I think about cocktails the same way I think about creating spirits; aroma, texture, balance and the finish. When all of those pieces come together, even something simple like cola can become a really fun and thoughtful cocktail."

And in general, using cola as the base for a summer cocktail comes down to one thing: balance.

"The reason we love cola in the first place is that it is sweet, refreshing, perfectly spiced, and carries enough acidity to keep you wanting another sip," Cody Fredrickson, the Tasting Room Manager and Brand Mixologist at Las Vegas Distillery, tells Parade. "The goal is to play off that built in balance rather than override it, so whatever you add should complement the cola instead of burying it."

Below, Mares shares their full recipe for a Dirty Rum & Cola, and both Mares and Fredrickson share a few other ways you can turn cola into a fancy summer drink.

What You Need to Make a Dirty Rum & Cola for Summer

To make this Dirty Rum & Cola, Mares recommends opting for a sugar-free soda.

"I personally love using a sugar-free cola because it lets the flavors from the rum, coconut and lime stand out while still bringing those classic cola notes in," they explain. "It’s simple, refreshing, and turns an everyday drink into something that feels fun."

Here are all of the ingredients you need for your dirty rum and coke:

• 1.5 oz aged rum
• 4 oz sugar-free cola
• ¾ oz coconut cream
• ½ oz fresh lime juice
• 2 Dashes aromatic bitters (optional)
• Lime wheel for garnish
• Ice

How to Make a Dirty Rum & Cola

Once you have all your ingredients, cocktail shaker and glass at the ready, here's how to make a Dirty Rum & Cola, according to Mares:

1. Add rum, fresh lime juice and bitters into a cocktail shaker with ice.
2. Shake until chilled, then strain into a glass over fresh ice.
3. Top with sugar-free cola and gently stir to combine while keeping the carbonation.
4. Slowly pour coconut cream over the top to create a float.
5. Garnish with a lime wheel.

"I love this cocktail because it takes something familiar and makes it feel more elevated while still keeping it simple," Mares explains.

"As a distiller, I’m always thinking about how flavors build off each other, and cola actually has a lot to work with," they continue. "The caramel, vanilla and spice notes pair really well with aged rum, while the fresh lime keeps the drink bright and refreshing. The coconut float adds a creamy texture and tropical element, plus it creates a fun layered look before you stir everything together."

These 5 Other Simple Cocktails Can Also Elevate a Glass of Cola for Summer

When it comes to elevating a glass of coke, Mares and Fredrickson have endless ideas — here are five more ways to take your cola to the next level this summer.

1. Tequila Batanga

To make a Tequila Batanga, just combine tequila, cola and fresh lime juice into a glass with a salted rim. Mares says this makes "a simple but flavorful cocktail" and is a "great example of how a few ingredients can completely transform a drink."

2. Rum and Cola With Orange Cinnamon Syrup

According to Fredrickson, the simplest way to make an elevated drink with cola is to add some homemade orange cinnamonsyrup, as this accentuates the vanilla, cinnamon and citrus notes that are already present in cola.

To make the syrup, combine 1 cup granulated sugar with 1 cup water on a stovetop until the sugar dissolves. Then, add orange peel and 2 cinnamon sticks and simmer for five minutes. Let the syrup sit for at least 20 minutes before straining, and then add it to a rum and coke over ice!

"The result is far more citrus forward and refreshing than a standard rum and cola," Fredrickson explains. "It is also very adaptable, since the same approach works with lemon, lime, and other summer citrus. That flexibility lets you match the drink to whatever fruit is at its peak through the season."

3. Cola Float Cocktail

For a Cola Float Cocktail, all you need to do is combine cola, your favorite spirit and a scoop of vanilla or coconut ice cream, according to Mares, who says this is a "fun summer dessert-style drink."

4. Good Grief

The Good Grief is a cocktail that Fredrickson and his team created in the Las Vegas Distillery tasting room, inspired by the Southern tradition of dropping peanuts in cola.

To make this drink, combine white rum and Mexican Coke on ice, and top it with salted peanut foam, flake salt and freshly grated nutmeg.

5. Espresso Twist

An Espresso Twist simply involves adding a splash of chilled espresso or cold brew to a classic rum and coke—preferably, using an aged rum. Mares says this "creates a rich, balanced cocktail that brings out the caramel and vanilla notes already found in both the rum and the cola."

The actor sparked instant curiosity on July 20 by sharing a faceless photo with his back to the camera. Clad in a T-shirt from the iconic travel store Buc-ee's, the mysterious pose only fueled fans' theories about his next move.

He shared the following information in the caption. "I’m finally back home!" He added, "Coming Soon."

Baio concluded his post with the hashtags Frisco King, Taylor Sheridan, Samuel L. Jackson, Texas, and Blessed. The actor, director, and producer did not share any further information about his connection to the Paramount+ series. However, fans had thoughts.

"You in a new show?!" asked one follower. A second fan questioned, "What??? You are on a Taylor Sheridan series?"

A third Instagram user posted, "Way cool! How exciting." A fourth fan concluded, "When can you discuss this Samuel L. Jackson and Taylor Sheridan exploit?"

While Baio did not share any further details about his connection to Frisco King, the Fort Worth Report did confirm that Sheridan's series was filming in Texas, the location of Baio's hashtag. Filming took place at Wedgmont Circle North throughout July 2026. Additionally, the outlet reported that filming for the series has been underway since March at several North Texas locations.

In July 2026, Deadline reported that Samuel L. Jackson, whom the actor tagged in his social media post, will star in the Tulsa King spinoff as Russell Lee Washington Jr. Tulsa King debuted in November 2022, starring Sylvester Stallone.

Deadline reports Frisco King is set in Frisco, Texas. Sheridan is set to write all eight of Season One's episodes.

In an April 16 Facebook post, Stallone and Jackson shared details of the new series. Stallone said in a video clip, "Sam, we're here to kick off your new show, which is what?"

Jackson replied, "Frisco King. Am I a king yet? I'm working on it."

The Rocky legend continued, "We just did our first scene together, and it was fantastic. It's going to be a stellar show. He's [Jackson] spectacular in this, don't miss it."

Frisco King is targeted for a 2027 debut, but a specific release date remains under wraps, as does Scott Baio's role in the series.

Before Robin Williams became one of the most beloved comedic actors in Hollywood history, he was learning how to entertain audiences without saying a word.

It's not something Williams often spoke about, but the little-known chapter of his career came to light decades later when photographer Daniel Sorine captured images of two mimes performing in New York City's Central Park in 1974. While reviewing his photos, Sorine realized one of the performers was none other than Williams.

"What attracted me to Robin Williams and his fellow mime, Todd Oppenheimer, was an unusual amount of intensity, personality and physical fluidity," Sorine previously told PetaPixel. “When I approached them with my Pentax Spotmatic they allowed me to invite them into my camera instead of me having to chase after them."

The images offered a glimpse of the unique physicality that would later become a defining part of Williams' performances. Whether he was improvising on stage or bringing unforgettable characters to life on screen, Williams had a rare ability to command an audience without relying solely on words.

If he were alive today, Williams would be celebrating his 75th birthday. Per Disney's explicit terms, dogs must not be left unattended in guest rooms for more than 7 hours, and they must be safely crated whenever you are out of the room. Furthermore, Disney Cast Members perform mandatory, routine security checks on every room.

While the Eagles are one of the most successful bands in rock history, there have still been plenty of people over the years who weren't big fans of their music...including the iconic singer-songwriter who wrote one of the band's most popular covers, Tom Waits.

Originally released as the lead single from Waits' 1973 debut album, Closing Time, "Ol' 55" was inspired by the musician's 1955 Buick Roadmaster, which he called "the first real luxury automobile I had...about as slick as deer guts on a doorknob." Even though the song wasn't a major hit on the charts, like the rest of the album, it was praised by critics and other musicians.

The Eagles, who were on the same label as Waits, definitely took a liking to "Ol' 55," as they released a cover of the track on their 1974 album On the Border. Their version was more of a soft-rock kind of thing than its piano-led predecessor, and while Eagles' fans liked it, Waits did not.

In a 1975 interview quoted in the book Lowside of the Road: A Life of Tom Waits, Waits admitted that he wasn't "particularly crazy" about what the Eagles did with "Ol' 55," adding, "The song is about five years old, it’s one of the first songs I wrote, so I felt like it was kind of flattering that somebody wanted to do your song, but at the same time I thought their version was a little antiseptic."

About a year later, in an interview with NME, he was a bit more blunt.

"I don’t like the Eagles," Waits said, according to the book Tom Waits on Tom Waits: Interviews and Encounters. "They’re about as exciting as watching paint dry. Their albums are good for keeping the dust off your turntable and that’s about all.”

The Eagles didn't have much to say about Waits' criticism at the time, but decades later, Glenn Frey brought it up during the Eagles' millennium concert in Los Angeles at the and of 1999.

“Tom didn’t really like our version of ‘Ol’ ’55’ when it first came out,” Frey quipped from the stage, per American Songwriter. “And then he got the [royalty] check. Since then, Tom and I, we’re really close.”

At least Waits was financially compensated for his disappointment. Plus, the Eagles weren't the only ones sending royalty checks to Waits for "Ol' 55": Eric Andersen released a cover of his own in 1975, as did Sarah McLachlan on her 1994 album The Freedom Sessions. McLachlan's version was also used on the soundtrack of the 1995 movie Boys on the Side.

When I first tried the cake, I already expected it to be good, but I just didn't realize how good it would actually be. From the first slice, I noticed how easy it was to cut. I also paid attention to how it held up in taste, smell and appearance after a few days. If kept refrigerated, it can last a while — especially if you're not someone who overindulges on sweet treats. It's also easy to portion out based on your desired serving size. I would recommend, however, freezing half and thawing it when needed.

Like I said before, the cake pairs wonderfully with coffee, but you can even take things up a notch and have it with a nice cup of chai. However you prefer to have it, if I were you, I would definitely keep an eye out for the Waffle Cone Bar Cake. It's a standout find in Costco's bakery section, and if you're lucky to still get your hands on one, you may want to stock your freezer before it's gone for good.

Thirty-five years ago, one of country music’s biggest stars delivered a song that would become a defining anthem of the ’90s country era.

In April 1991, Alan Jackson released “Don’t Rock the Jukebox,” the title track from his second album.

The traditional country hit not only showcased his signature sound but also helped cement his place among the genre’s most influential voices, kicking off his incredible run throughout the decade and beyond.

The tune came at a time when country music was experiencing a transformation, with many artists incorporating more pop influences. Jackson, however, leaned into a classic country style, embracing the guitar and traditional storytelling, proving that classic ‘90s country hit was hard to compete with.

The lyrics, which had the singer asking the jukebox for a sad song rather than an upbeat one, resonated with fans.  The tune climbed the charts rather quickly, eventually reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country chart by early July and remaining there for three weeks. 

“It’d been a long night. I took a break and walked over to the jukebox. Roger, my bass player, was already over there reading the records,” Jackson reflected on the inspiration behind the song in the official music video, which came to him when he was playing a little truck stop lounge with his band at the time.

He continued: “I leaned up on the corner of it, and one of the legs was broken off,” he added. The jukebox tilted due to its missing leg. Roger then looked at him and spoke the song’s opening line, having no idea he’d just inspired a major hit.

In 1992, ASCAP recognized it as the Country Song of the Year, further recognizing Jackson as a country artist who was here to stay. That same year, it was covered by Alvin and the Chipmunks.

Topping the charts was a huge achievement early in Jackson’s career, helping the song become one of his most recognizable recordings, while also playing a role in the success of his album of the same name, which went on to become a standout country album with multiple hit singles, including "Someday" and "Love’s Got a Hold on You," which both reached No. 1.

“35 years later don’t rock the jukebox is still a great song,” one fan commented on the music video, as another noted, “Alan Jackson helped keep real Country alive in the 90s to 2000s. Bridged the classic and the current.” 

Jackson, now 67, played his final farewell concert more than three decades later on June 27, 2026, which included a performance of all of his classics, including “Don’t Rock the Jukebox,” per Country Living.

And it’s clear that the timeless tune remains a fan favorite and serves as a reminder of an era where traditional country music found a new generation of loyal listeners.

Henry Winkler received some sound advice on his first day on the Happy Days set. 

The actor, who played Arthur “Fonzie” Fonzarelli on the long-running ABC comedy series, recently told Hoda Kotb’sJoy 101 that he became frustrated and started to doubt himself during his first day on set more than 50 years ago, and that his young co-star Ron Howard stepped in to calm him down and give him advice.

Winkler, who studied at the Yale School of Drama before landing the role on the ‘70s sitcom, told Kotb he was having trouble with one of his lines and began to have a bit of a meltdown.

“So it's the first day,” Winkler, 80, shared. “First, I'm reading—now you remember I'm a trained actor— and I'm reading the script, and I can't make the joke work. And I start hitting the script. ‘I can't do this. What is this?’”

“And I'm twenty-seven, Ron Howard is eighteen,” Winkler continued. “He puts his arm around me, walks me to the back of soundstage 24  on Paramount Lot and says, ‘You know they're working as hard as they can. Let's not hit our script.’“

Winkler recalled sheepishly telling his co-star, “Ron, I’ll never hit my script as long as I live.”

Although Howard was much younger than Winkler, he had years of television experience as a child actor on The Andy Griffith Show, The Smith Family and more. His calm attitude helped guide Winkler through the early days of his very first TV  show.

Despite having more TV experience than Winkler, Howard has said that he “looked up to him” when they first met on the Happy Days set.

"Henry's a few years older than I am.,” Howard said in 2025, per People magazine. "Yale educated, and he looked at acting in a way that was — it wasn't Hollywood. It was a little more intellectual. It was theater-based, and that was new to me. But more than anything, we just got along beautifully and worked well together.”

The two formed a bond that is still strong more than five decades later.

"I met him when he was 18, and I was 27," Winkler recently said on The Rich Eisen Show. "We were touched by the universe. There was a string between us. I didn't have to tell him what I was going to do. He didn't tell me what he was going to do. We just were in the same space at the same moment. It's rare."

Henry Winkler, 80, has just posted one of the most genuinely joyful photos of his career. The Happy Days star met his idol, Anthony Hopkins, 88, this week, getting together with their wives for a sunny afternoon and a photo that Winkler immediately shared on X. His caption was simple and completely sincere: "Stacey and I met my idol today!!! And his fabulous wife Stella." Fans quickly noticed the beautiful painting in the foreground. Winkler confirmed Hopkins painted it himself. "Anthony is an artist and a composer," he wrote.

Hopkins has been painting seriously for decades and has composed classical music performed by orchestras. The man Winkler has spent 50 years wanting to become turns out to be three artists in one.

The photo shows Winkler in a blue shirt and beige jacket, beaming. Hopkins is in a Hawaiian shirt and purple trousers. Their wives, Stacey Weitzman and Stella Arroyave, are beside them. Everyone is smiling. Hopkins is 88 and still making films. Winkler is 80 and still working. Between them they've got over a century of creative life, and neither one looks finished. It's the kind of photo that doesn't need a caption, but the caption makes it better anyway.

Henry Winkler has been one of the most beloved figures in American television for 50 years. He played the Fonz on Happy Days for eleven seasons. He won his first Emmy at 72 for his role as Gene Cousineau in Barry, the HBO comedy that gave him the most critically acclaimed performance of his career. He's written a series of children's books about a kid with learning differences, drawing on his own dyslexia that went undiagnosed until he was an adult. He's delivered commencement addresses and built one of the most complete careers in entertainment. He's 80 years old.

And he still says he hasn't become the actor he wants to be.

In 2023, Winkler sat down with Entertainment Weekly as Barry concluded and named Hopkins as an idol. "Some of my idols in acting are Jack Nicholson and Anthony Hopkins, where there's no distance between their soul and their character," he said. "You can't even put a sheet of paper between the two. There is something so magnificent about that. And I have been working to try to get there."

He said the same thing to NPR that same year. "I want to be the most talented actor. I want to be Anthony Hopkins. But I could never have played Gene Cousineau without this latter part of my life journey. And that's not even hyperbole. I want to say, definitively, that is true."

That's someone still doing the work.

Gene Cousineau, the washed-up acting teacher Winkler played so brilliantly in Barry, is a man whose delusions of grandeur mask genuine and complicated talent. There's something quietly extraordinary about Winkler playing a man who couldn't see his own gifts while privately saying he wanted to be Anthony Hopkins. He became a better actor after 70. He still says he hasn't arrived.

The Fonz wants to be Hannibal Lecter. That sentence contains the whole story.

From His First TV Appearance to His Greatest Idol

In February 2026, Winkler reposted a memory on X that stopped a lot of people. He shared a tribute to The Mary Tyler Moore Show and added above it: "My first TV appearance in Hollywood."

It was 1973. Season four, episode ten: "The Dinner Party." He played Steve Waldman, Rhoda's coworker who'd just been fired. Rhoda brings him to Mary's dinner party to cheer him up. He was uncredited. The following year he became the Fonz.

Fifty-three years later, he's posting photos with Anthony Hopkins and calling him his idol.

In May 2026, Winkler delivered the commencement address at Emerson College, his alma mater. Emerson announced it'd name its first stage production of each season in his honor. "You are powerful," he told graduates. "And in you is a great gift. Your job is to figure out what your gift is. Because this world needs every single one of you."

A man who still has idols is out there telling the next generation to find theirs.

Jo Ann Campbell, the rock and roll trailblazer famously nicknamed "The Blonde Bombshell," celebrates a major milestone as she turns 88.

Born on July 20, 1938, the Florida native broke barriers in the music industry as one of the pioneering women of rockabilly, helping popularize the early rock and roll style that blended rhythm and blues, country and rock music.

Amid the massive popularity of legendary female musicians in the 1950s like "Queen of Hillbilly Swing" Rose Maddox, Charline Arthur, the Miller Sisters and Ella Mae Morse, Campbell, the then-teenager, stood out because of her bold and energetic performances.

The young performer's unique stage presence, marked by her powerful and confident vocals, lively dance moves and glamorous outfits, earned her the moniker "The Blonde Bombshell," which Alan Freed frequently used to promote her.

Initially set to pursue a career on Broadway in New York, she became interested in rock and roll after attending Alan Freed's rock'n'roll Moondog show.

She became deeply fascinated with the genre and was convinced that it was what she wanted to do.

In 1956, Campbell began her career as a professional recording artist with her first single, "I'm Coming Home Tonight."

She later released "Come On Baby," which found regional success, particularly on the East Coast, leading Campbell to record the follow-up single "I Can't Give You Anything But Love," a rock and roll revival of the 1928 standard first introduced by Adelaide Hall.

As her popularity grew, Freed took notice of her and invited her to perform at his concerts and on his tours, marking her major career breakthrough.

The influential DJ also marketed Campbell as "The Blonde Bombshell," mainly because of her striking visual appeal and dynamic stage presence.

A huge fan of Freed, she once spoke about their working relationship and considered herself to be one of his signature female rock and roll performers.

"Connie Francis was always Dick Clark's girl, and I was Alan Freed's. He was my hero, and I was there for him whenever he called", Campbell told music historian Billy Poore for his book,Rockabilly: A Forty-Year Journey.

From working alongside Freed, the rising singer also shared the stage with music icons including Chuck Berry and Buddy Holly.

During the early 1960s, Campbell earned one of her biggest international successes after her single "Motorcycle Michael" reached No. 41 on the UK Singles Chart.

It was followed by another career-defining moment when her country pop song "I'm The Girl From Wolverton Mountain" entered the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 38 and remained on the chart for nearly two months.

In addition, the track reached No. 10 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart.

Later in the early 1960s, Campbell also scored another Billboard Hot 100 entry with the  novelty song "Mother, Please!," which peaked at No. 88.

However, the mid-1960s marked a shift in Campbell's priorities.

After marrying country singer-songwriter Troy Seals in 1964, she largely stepped away from the spotlight, making a few final appearances on Dick Clark's television program Where the Action Is before largely retiring from the music industry around 1967 to focus on her family.

Campbell reportedly received offers for a music comeback in the 1970s but declined offers from Richard Nader and other rock and roll promoters.

Some albums define an era. Others become timeless.

Few records have earned that distinction quite like Tea for the Tillerman, the 1970 masterpiece that transformed Cat Stevens from a promising British singer-songwriter into one of music's most beloved voices. Today, July 21, the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer celebrates his 78th birthday.

Released just months after his album Mona Bone Jakon, Tea for the Tillerman featured enduring classics including "Wild World," "Father and Son," "Where Do the Children Play?" and the title track. More than five decades later, it remains a fixture on lists of the greatest albums ever made.

Even before the album became a classic, Island Records founder Chris Blackwell recognized what Stevens had created. According to a 1971 profile in Rock magazine, Blackwell called Tea for the Tillerman "the best album we've ever released," an extraordinary endorsement from the man whose label was also home to artists like Traffic and King Crimson.

Ironically, Stevens initially wasn't convinced the album needed an immediate hit single. "I think it's a good idea not to release a single just yet," he recalled telling his label. His instincts proved impeccable. A few months later, "Wild World" quietly broke through, introducing millions of listeners to the album and helping turn it into one of the defining singer-songwriter records of its generation.

Blackwell's praise proved prophetic. More than five decades later, Rolling Stone named the album to its list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, ranking it at No. 205 and writing, "With its chamber-pop arrangements, Tea for the Tillerman is one of the British folkie’s most ambitious albums (to take one example of Cat Stevens’ thinking at the time, the LP’s gentle, advice-dispensing 'Father and Son' began as a song for a musical he wanted to write about the Russian Revolution). It soothed countless living rooms in the Seventies, but the album is deceptively angst-y."

His live performances also won over audiences in unexpected ways. Recalling an early opening set for Traffic at New York's Fillmore East, Rock writer Bud Scoppa described how a skeptical crowd gradually fell under Stevens' spell. By the end of the night, Scoppa wrote, listeners had discovered that Cat Stevens could "write songs, and sing them too, like nobody else."

The success continued with Teaser and the Firecat, which produced "Morning Has Broken," "Moonshadow" and "Peace Train." Stevens ultimately sold more than 100 million records worldwide and penned "The First Cut Is the Deepest," a song that became a hit for four different artists and earned him ASCAP Songwriter of the Year honors decades after he first wrote it.

In 1977, Stevens converted to Islam and adopted the name Yusuf Islam, stepping away from the pop music industry to focus on faith, education and humanitarian work. Nearly three decades later, he returned to secular music, eventually recording and touring again under the name Yusuf / Cat Stevens while introducing his songs to a new generation of fans.

In 1987, a teenage rising star would record and release her first smash hit that would ultimately skyrocket to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart—that young girl was Tiffany. The '80s pop-rock sensation delivered "I Think We're Alone Now"—her rendition of the tune written by Ritchie Cordell and first popularized in the 1960s—and became a star.

A cover of a 1967 original by Tommy James & the Shondells, it tells the story of rebellion and carefree, young romance. "Runnin' just as fast as we can / Holdin' on to one another's hand / Tryin' to get away into the night / And then you put your arms around me / And we tumble to the ground / And then you say / I think we're alone now," Tiffany sings on the track, per Genius.

The pop hit was a part of her self-titled debut album and became the fifth best-selling single of 1988 in the U.K., according to Official Charts. Thirty-nine years later, it remains a timeless staple for easy summer listening.

Reflecting on her success at such a young age, the singer shared that she was just 16 when "everything started to happen" for her, and she began realizing her musical dreams, touring all over the world. "I wasn't prepared at all," she admitted in a 2022 The Six O'Clock Show interview. "I just rode the wave; enjoyed it."

Despite becoming an international hit—topping charts not only in the States but also in Canada, New Zealand, the U.K., and more—the mature premise of the song didn't register with the songstress until Tiffany was in her 30s. "I was singing it one day, and I was like... wait, hold on—this is kinda cheeky, this song," she explained, laughing.

After being featured in Stranger Things Season 5 in November 2025, the hit experienced a massive global resurgence, re-entering the Official Singles Chart Top 40 for the first time in 38 years.

Jason Aldean’s “Don’t Tell On Me” is spending a second straight week at No. 1 on the Mediabase country radio singles chart, giving the country star another major career milestone as he begins his 2026 Songs About Us Tour.

The song led the Mediabase country chart for the July 12-18 tracking period and remained the panel’s most played and heard song. Its second week at the top comes as Aldean starts a new run of live shows tied to his latest album, Songs About Us.

The chart result also marks an important point in Aldean’s long career. According to the provided chart information, “Don’t Tell On Me” is his 50th Country Airplay entry and his 27th No. 1. It is also his first multiweek No. 1 since “Trouble with a Heartbreak” stayed at the top for three weeks in May 2022.

The two-week run gives Aldean his 13th career No. 1 that has remained at the top for at least two weeks.

The latest chart result comes during a busy stretch for the Georgia native. Aldean has launched his Songs About Us Tour with three consecutive sold-out shows in Bangor, Maine; Holmdel, New Jersey and Bethel, New York, according to Entertainment Focus.

“Don’t Tell On Me” remains ahead of a group of rising country hits on the Mediabase chart.

Morgan Wallen’s “Don’t We” moved up one spot to No. 2. Ella Langley and Wallen’s “I Can’t Love You Anymore” climbed to No. 3, while Luke Combs’ “Be By You” rose to No. 4. Bailey Zimmerman’s “Chevy Silverado” rounded out the top five after moving up one place to No. 5.

For Aldean, the latest success adds another chapter to a career built around major country radio hits. His catalog includes songs such as “Hicktown,” “Big Green Tractor,” “Dirt Road Anthem,” “Fly Over States,” “Burnin’ It Down,” “You Make It Easy,” “Try That in a Small Town,” “Whiskey Drink” and “Trouble with a Heartbreak.”

The current No. 1 also arrives during the release cycle for Songs About Us, Aldean’s 12th album. The album was released in April and followed the earlier single “How Far Does a Goodbye Go.”

Aldean’s latest tour is supporting the album while also giving fans a chance to hear some of his biggest hits from the past two decades.

The opening shows featured a 20-plus-song set that included “Hicktown,” “Amarillo Sky,” “Big Green Tractor,” “Take a Little Ride,” “Burnin’ It Down,” “Trouble with a Heartbreak,” “Don’t Tell On Me,” “Try That in a Small Town,” “You Make It Easy,” “Dirt Road Anthem,” “My Kinda Party” and “She’s Country.”

The Songs About Us Tour is scheduled as a 22-city North American run. After opening in Bangor, the tour includes stops in Wichita, Oklahoma City, Kansas City, Ridgefield, Nampa, Wheatland, Fresno, Cincinnati, Bossier City, Brandon, Orange Beach, Virginia Beach, Wantagh, Hartford, Hamilton, Syracuse and Camden.

The tour is set to finish with two shows in Gilford, New Hampshire, on Sept. 25 and 26.

Chase Matthew, Mackenzie Carpenter and Dee Jay Silver are among the supporting acts on the tour, with Elizabeth Nichols also joining for one date.

The tour comes after Aldean’s international 2026 Full Throttle World Tour, which included his first headlining shows in New Zealand and a return to Australia after more than a decade.

The singer is also using the tour's opening weekend to look back at some of the albums that helped shape his career. His self-titled 2005 debut, My Kinda Party from 2010 and They Don’t Know from 2016 are set for their first-ever vinyl releases on September 18.

Those albums represent different stages of Aldean’s career. His debut introduced songs such as “Hicktown” and “Amarillo Sky,” while My Kinda Party helped establish him as a major country star. They Don’t Know arrived during another successful period and included hits such as “Lights Come On” and “A Little More Summertime.”

As “Don’t Tell On Me” begins a second week at No. 1, Aldean is continuing to add to a career that has produced dozens of country radio hits. The song’s latest chart run now gives him another multiweek leader while his 2026 tour brings that music to fans across North America.
