Five Below's $10 Rechargeable Lamp Brings an Elegant Glow to Any Room

Wed, 03/04/2026 - 12:05pm

Overhead lighting absolutely has its place. You need it when you're chopping vegetables, hunting for a missing sock, or trying to clean without missing a single dusty corner. It's practical, but it isn't exactly cozy. Nothing beats the warm, glow-y magic of a simple table lamp switched on in the evening. It makes a room feel softer and calmer with a quick click or tap.

But here's the struggle: what if there's no outlet where you want that glow? This is always an issue in my house. Maybe your console table floats in the middle of the room, or your bookshelf is nowhere near a plug. Suddenly, your dreamy lighting plan feels impossible. It kind of makes you wonder how HGTV stars would solve this problem.

Aconic Three Mood Rechargeable Touch Lamp, $10 at Five Below

Five Below

Well, they might suggest you use a rechargeable, cordless lamp, like Five Below's nifty Aconic Three Mood Rechargeable Touch Lamp. I mean, yes, technically it does require a cord to charge it, but once you've done that, you can position this little beauty wherever you need a little bit of ambient light.

Five Below's rechargeable lamp has three different "mood" settings, meaning you can adjust the amount of light it emits depending on what you're in the "mood" for. And that sweet little lamp shade is actually adorned with a subtle floral pattern that is way more noticeable when it's turned on. It's a little cottagecore in the best way.

This lamp has another convenient feature—it's touch-enabled. That means you're not messing with any finicky switches or knobs to turn it on or adjust the lighting level.

Five Below isn't the only retailer in the rechargeable lamp game. Marshalls is selling a set of chic, coastal-inspired cordless lamps that add a touch of whimsy to any room. And Costco is also bringing its A-game with a pair of sleek, minimalist rechargeable lamps from Mikasa. If you love that sort of "mushroom" shaped look, Aldi recently stocked a pretty domed rechargeable table lamp in its "Finds" aisle that offers up a warm glow without taking up a ton of space on a countertop or console. So, go ahead, explore your options. But I think you'll find this Five Below offering is the most bang for your buck.

1944 Classic Was a No. 1 Hit 82 Years Ago Today

Wed, 03/04/2026 - 12:00pm

Jimmy Dorsey defined the Swing era with his impeccable command of the saxophone.

Celebrated as one of the most influential alto saxophonists of his time, he captivated listeners with his smooth and unforgettable melodies and a string of romantic ballads and timeless love songs that left a lasting mark on the music industry.

From “Amapola” (Pretty Little Poppy) in 1941, his biggest hit, which spent 10 weeks on the top chart, to “Maria Elena” in 1941 and “Tangerine” in 1942, the renowned multi-instrumentalist consistently delivered one standout record after another.

Throughout his career, Dorsey, along with his orchestra, including Bob Eberly and Kitty Kallen, introduced several notable songs that have transcended through generations and continue to define the golden age of swing.

On this day, the Pennsylvania native topped the charts 82 years ago after releasing “Bésame Mucho” or “Kiss Me Much.”

Written by Mexican composer Consuelo Velázquez in the 1930s, it was originally in Spanish but was translated into English by lyricist Sunny Skylar, and Dorsey and his orchestra performed it.

Dorsey’s 1944 song peaked at No. 1 on Billboard’s National List of Best Selling Retail Records chart. On top of that, the hit track remained unbeatable for seven consecutive weeks from March 4 to April 15, 1944.

By 1999, “Bésame Mucho” was considered the most recorded and covered Spanish-language song of all time. Among those famous renditions are The Beatles with their guitar-driven rock and roll version, while Nat King Cole delivered a classic interpretation.

Adding to the list of popular covers is Frank Sinatra’s swing-influenced version, while the Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli gave “Bésame Mucho” a passionate and operatic rendition.

Besides those mentioned, iconic Puerto Rican-born Mexican singer Luis Miguel sang this in the 90s, while the musical trio Trio Los Panchos sang this in 1968.

As for modern times, pop singer Dua Lipa performed “Bésame Mucho” live in Mexico City during her Radical Optimism Tour in 2025.

In addition to the 1944 hit song, Dorsey’s “The Breeze and I” was included in the National List of Best Selling Retail Records as cited by Billboard.

Released in 1940, it ranked second on the national chart next to Tommy Dorsey’s “I’ll Never Smile Again.”

Savannah Guthrie's Mom Nancy Update: Sheriff Weighs in on 'Missing Piece of Evidence'

Wed, 03/04/2026 - 11:51am

Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie‘s mom, Nancy Guthrie, is still missing more than a month after the abduction from her Tucson, Ariz., home—and Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos recently shared an update on a "missing piece of evidence."

In an interview that aired on Today on Wednesday, March 4, the Pima County Sheriff discussed where the investigation stands when it comes to digital forensics in the 84-year-old’s case.

After mentioning that physical evidence remains a key focus in the case, NBC correspondent Liz Kreutz pointed out that investigators are still looking into a key "missing piece of evidence"—the suspect's cell phone. From a phone pinging cell towers, to trying to connect to a nearby Wi-Fi network, to even turning off a device, these actions can create a digital trail leading to the potential suspect.

Nanos confirmed that investigators have been looking into cell tower data in Nancy's investigation.

"I think the cell data towers have helped us in eliminating people, and looking at things, and different things," he confirmed to Kreutz on Day 32 of the search for Nancy. However, Nanos also acknowledged, "And there's still a lot of that data that needs to be looked at."

Additionally, Nanos said that investigators cannot say definitively if one of the images released from Nancy's Nest camera was taken at an earlier date before the abduction. The sheriff did say, however, that he does believe it was the same person in all of the images.

On Feb. 1, the Pima County Sheriff's Department (PCSD) embarked on its search for Nancy after she was last seen at her Catalina Foothills residence on Jan. 31. Savannah and her siblings, Annie and Camron, have sent multiple video messages to the potential captor since then, after receiving several alleged ransom notes. Most recently, Savannah offered a $1 million reward for any information leading to Nancy’s return.

In a Feb. 27 statement, the PCSD—after withdrawing a number of officers from Tucson to refocus their efforts—said, “This remains an active investigation and will continue until Nancy Guthrie is located or all leads have been exhausted,” per People. “The Pima County Sheriff’s Department is refocusing resources to detectives specifically assigned to this case. As leads are developed and resolved, resource allocation may fluctuate. PCSD will maintain a patrol presence in the Guthrie neighborhood.”

Those with any information about Nancy’s missing case are advised to contact the FBI tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI.

Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones Share the Surprising Way Their Fathers Are Connected

Wed, 03/04/2026 - 11:51am

Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones have been co-hosting the fourth hour of the Today Show, now titled Today with Jenna & Sheinelle, since January. But did you know their fathers have known each other for much longer?

During the Wednesday, Mar. 4 episode of the show, the co-hosts shared that Hager's father, former President George W. Bush, and Jones’ father, Judge C. Darnell Jones, share a surprising connection.

“Our fathers are connected, kind of,” Bush Hager said.

“So crazy, so her father nominated my father to the federal bench,” Jones explained. “So my father’s a federal judge—can you say retired when you’re a federal judge?—I don’t know. He’s a federal judge. He ended up going through in the [Barack] Obama years, but it was her father that put it in motion.”

Bush Hager noted that Jones was the one who made her aware of the connection, saying, “You told me that once over many a margarita. Isn’t that a wild story? Who could have ever predicted that? I think the world is a weird and wonderful place.”

Judge Jones was nominated for a federal judgeship by President Bush in July 2008—17 years before their daughters' show began airing.

While both journalists have been with NBC for years, they only began co-hosting their talk show earlier this year.

Bush Hager's former co-host Hoda Kotb exited Today in January 2025, and for a year, the show, then titled Today with Jenna & Friends, ran with a rotating lineup of celebrity guest co-hosts.

On Feb. 6, Kotb made her first return to Today following her retirement to cover for Savannah Guthrie amid her mom Nancy's disappearance.

“This whole thing is breaking my heart and I’m happy to be sitting here with you,” Kotb said to Jones, Craig Melvin, and Carson Daly. “I picture Savannah sitting there. I just want to say good morning and everybody’s hoping and praying for Nancy’s safe return.”

This 1977 Smash Hit Beat His Own Brothers to No. 1 — 48 Years Ago Today

Wed, 03/04/2026 - 11:51am

On March 4, 1978, late singer Andy Gibb's 1977 hit, "(Love Is) Thicker Than Water," peaked at the number one spot on Billboard Top 100. The song was featured on Andy's debut album, Flowing Rivers, which was released in 1977.

Andy's older brothers, Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb's group, The Bee Gees' 1977 "Stayin' Alive" from the Saturday Night Fever album, was number 2 on the March 4, 1978 Billboard Top 100 chart.

Andy died 11 years after releasing Flowing Rivers at the age of 30. History.com reported that Andy's death was caused by "an inflammatory heart virus" in 1988. According to the publication, his mother, Barbara Gibb, said his issue with substance abuse wasn't the reason for his death.

"When he died, it had nothing to do with drugs at all. But the damage had been done through drugs in the first place," said Barbara, per History.com.

Barry White Opened up About Losing His Brothers in a 2021 Interview

Barry, who executive-produced Flowing River, briefly discussed Andy's passing in a 2021 interview with 7News Spotlight.

"His heart was very bad but he had lived a lifestyle that very few of us in the family even knew about," said Barry in the interview.

Barry also shared that he wasn't in the best place with any of his brothers right before they died. Robin died at 62 in 2012, while Maurice died when he was 53 in 2003.

"My greatest regret is that every brother I've lost was in a moment when we were not getting on. I'm the last man standing. I'll never be able to understand that because I'm the eldest," said Barry, now 79, in the 2021 interview.

In addition, Barry reminisced about working with Maurice and Robin, who were fraternal twins, as The Bee Gees.

"We all had the same dream. And that's what I remember more than anything else. And that's what I miss more than anything else," said Barry.

Christina Applegate Thanks Andy Cohen for Easing Her MS Pain

Wed, 03/04/2026 - 11:49am

Christina Applegate says her Multiple Sclerosis (MS) pain hovers at an eight out of 10—but drops to a one when she tunes into Bravo for a little reality TV escape.

A known Bravoholic, Applegate told Good Morning America's Robin Roberts that having MS "Still sucks, Robin. It really does," and "I have so many friends who have MS. And we talk to each other constantly. And I don't have one that says, 'I'm great.'" Applegate added, "There is no great. There's a better day and a less s---- day. This is a lifelong disease with no cure. Period."

One aspect that gives her some levity is watching shows on Bravo. "But Bravo makes me at a one," she said as Roberts laughed. "Put on freaking Bravo, and I'm like, thank you, Andy Cohen, you have changed my life."

Applegate has been very vocal with her Bravo opinions, with many Bravolebrities leaning into her tweets and comments. Most recently, she took a stand on how the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City behaved on their Below Deck Down Under superyacht vacation. “The treatment of the crew and my pals by the women was super gross,” she posted on X, adding, “I hope they apologized to Jason [Chambers] and Daisy [Kelliher]. Wow."

Bravo to her and her support system -- Christina Applegate shares the two things helping her cope with her MS diagnosis.

Of course, later, she reconsidered her post, writing on X: "To the SLC ladies I want to apologize. I was just watching and I was a bit shocked. But I realize you’re shooting a show too. And you’re my favorite franchise! Much love."

Knowing she was a fan, Captain Lee Rosbach from Below Deck made a video appearance when Applegate was a guest on Live With Kelly and Mark in 2022, telling the Married with Children star: “I want to encourage you to stay strong and remember that a good sailor never learned a damn thing in calm seas,” he said. “So I know you’re going to navigate these waters just fine.” He also extended an invitation to Applegate to sail with the Below Deck crew, adding, “If you’d like to DM me sometime and just chat, I’m here. Take care, kiddo.”

Applegate has since hosted a few Bravolebs on her podcast MeSsy, including Cohen. She posted on X: "Um this happened!!! Our dream come true! We love you @Andy !!!!!!!!!!!"

This Midwest City in Michigan Was Dubbed ‘Most Underrated’

Wed, 03/04/2026 - 11:39am

Detroit has earned a fresh travel reputation. A recent Travel + Leisure columnist named Detroit the most underrated city in the Midwest thanks to its vibrant cultural offerings, historic sites, creative neighborhoods, and local food scene. This recognition is getting people to think about Motor City visits in a new way, shifting attention from stereotypes toward real reasons to explore.

For years many outside Michigan thought of Detroit primarily as a symbol of industrial decline and high crime. While those elements are part of the city’s complex past, the headline today is different. With museums, riverfront spaces, music venues, and culinary spots now grabbing national attention, Detroit feels ready for travelers who want an authentic and dynamic American city experience.

Subscribe to our newsletter and get the latest travel updates delivered straight to your inbox.

What Travelers Will Find in Detroit

One of the first things that strikes visitors to Detroit is the rich mix of arts and culture woven into everyday life. World‑class institutions like the Detroit Institute of Arts share blocks with inventive neighborhood galleries and historic music venues where the Motown story still resonates. These spaces offer context and connection, giving travelers ways to appreciate the city’s heritage as well as its present‑day creativity.

Food lovers will find a serious scene as well. From fine dining to classic Detroit‑style pizza and Coney Island hot dogs, the city’s growing restaurant culture reflects both tradition and innovation. Local markets, late‑night bars, and brunch spots further expand the range of experiences. These layers make Detroit feel both grounded and surprising in equal measure.

View this post on Instagram

Outdoor and historic attractions also add to Detroit’s appeal. The Detroit Riverwalk provides scenic stretches for walking or biking along the water, while islands and parks nearby offer green respite after a day in the city. Historic neighborhoods mix architectural treasures with evolving local businesses, giving a sense of place that feels personal and lived‑in.

Changing Perceptions of Safety and Reality

For decades Detroit’s national image was tied to crime statistics that made travelers wary. Public safety remains a topic of interest for residents and visitors alike, but recent data shows a significant decline in violent crime. In 2025 the city recorded 165 homicides, the lowest total in about 60 years with decreases in shootings and carjackings as well, signaling long‑term shifts in patterns.

City leaders and law enforcement have pointed to collaboration with state, federal, and community partners as part of the progress. These partnerships aim not just to reduce crime numbers but to improve overall community well‑being through expanded services and preventive efforts. As a traveler, these trends help reframe Detroit not just as a place with a difficult past, but a city actively reshaping its future.

Practical Tips for Visiting Detroit

If you are considering a trip, Detroit is easiest to explore in spring, summer, and fall when outdoor activities and walking tours are at their best. Winters can be chilly but still rewarding for museum days, theater evenings, and hearty meals. A typical long weekend can cover a strong introduction to the city’s highlights with a mix of culture, food, history, and people‑centric experiences.

Here are some ideas to include in a first‑time itinerary:

  • Visit iconic cultural attractions like the Motown Museum and Detroit Institute of Arts.
  • Stroll the Detroit Riverwalk and enjoy river views and public art.
  • Eat across neighborhoods from downtown to Corktown and Eastern Market.
  • Catch live music or theater to feel the city’s creative pulse.

Each part of the city tells a different story, making Detroit a layered and memorable destination.

Why Detroit Now Deserves a Second Look

I have always thought that the best travel experiences happen where expectation and reality diverge, and Detroit fits that bill in a striking way. The city challenges assumptions while offering real rewards for curious visitors. It is not a polished resort town, but a working city with bold history, emerging culture, and space for discovery.

Stay in the loop with fresh travel stories and updates—subscribe to our newsletter.

Detroit’s recent acclaim as most underrated is not just a catchy headline. It reflects a broader shift in how people are talking about the city, one that finally connects Detroit’s creative energy with a growing appetite for travel that feels authentic, thoughtful, and rooted in place.

'Jeopardy!'s Ken Jennings Answers the Question Fans Have Been Wondering About For Years

Wed, 03/04/2026 - 11:39am

Ken Jennings is finally buzzing in on a frequently-asked question about hosting Jeopardy!.

The quiz show host and former Jeopardy! champion recently appeared on Good Morning America, where he was asked if he ever misses playing the game.

🎬SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox🎬

Jennings, who began as a guest host in early 2021 following the death of Alex Trebek, is also one of the most decorated champs in the show's history, officially earning G.O.A.T. status after winnings Jeopardy's Greatest of All Time competition in 2020.

Now, years after hanging up his Jeopardy! buzzer, Jennings was asked by GMA's George Stephanopoulos if he ever misses being behind the player lecterns.

"I would say hosting scratches the same itch," Jennings, 51, said during the Wednesday, March 4 broadcast of GMA.

View this post on Instagram

"I'm still playing the game very fast in my head," he continued. "I don't have the buzzer, but I'm still seeing all the clues [and thinking], 'Oh I know this one. Let's see if they get it.'"

"It feels like I'm playing," he continued, while jokingly calling himself the "fourth player," who never gets to buzz in.

During the conversation with Stephanopoulos, as well as co-hosts Robin Roberts, Michael Strahan, Lara Spencer and Sam Champion, Jennings also confirmed that he sees the scripts for each game before the show is filmed, as some of the clues and responses can be difficult to pronounce.

"It's hard to pronounce this stuff," he told the GMA hosts, adding, "I need the time [to prepare]."

Before becoming the show's permanent host in 2023, Jennings was one of the most famous players to ever compete on the Jeopardy! stage, a result of his historic 74-game winning streak during his 2004 run. He also holds the record for the highest regular-season winnings with a whopping $2.52 million.

Valerie Bertinelli Shares Decades of Hidden Pain: 'I'm a Survivor'

Wed, 03/04/2026 - 11:31am

Valerie Bertinelli recently revealed a heartbreaking truth: she'd been sexually abused at the age of 11. It was something the public didn't know, because, for years, she felt shame. But now, at 65 years old with a decade of therapy, that feeling has been replaced by anger.

"The very first time I said it out loud to my therapist, I thought I’m going to feel better now," she confided to PEOPLE. "It got worse before it got better."

Her first response was to eat and drink her feelings away. She soon realized that all she was doing was delaying her recovery.

"When you stop eating things for comfort, stop drinking alcohol, it exposes your feelings," she said. "You can deal with them or not. And I chose to deal with them. I don't feel shame about it anymore. I’m pissed off that it happened. Nobody deserves that.”

When she began writing her new memoir, Getting Naked, she'd planned to write "a book about teaching people how to love themselves." She hadn't expected to tell the world that she was molested as a child, but as the book took form, she accepted the new direction.

"It's about getting naked with who I am, emotionally, physically," she explained. "It was really about getting to the nitty gritty and getting to the parts that I thought were shameful and come to find out they’re not. They're all kinds of different facets of what makes us who we are."

She describes 2024 as a turning point, when she realized that it was time to get to the root of her years of body image issues.

“All of that shame had nothing to do with my body,” The Drew Barrymore Show's "Drew Crew" member said. “It was just something to take out my shame on. My poor body. I was so mean to it. I just needed to get all those voices out of my head. As I was going through that, I’m thinking people are going to wonder, why do I have so much self loathing? That’s not normal. It’s because trauma happened in my childhood for the most part. I can’t speak for anybody else but it’s pretty textbook.”

Nowadays, her outlook on life has improved as she confronts her trauma. She's also created Valerie's Place, an online site filled with recipes, live "cook-alongs," Valerie's Home Cooking episodes, and a place to "feel a little less alone."

"I want to build a community where everybody is welcome," she said. "It's a place where people can come in to my kitchen and cook with me because I've missed that a lot."

Nate Bargatze's clean, clever comedy stylings feel like a natural match for a chain like Applebee's. And while the beloved casual-dining chain is not technically considered fast food, it has borrowed a few strategies from the fast-food playbook over the years, including drive-thru windows, online ordering and a variety of value meals.

Bargatze's connection to the chain is personal, too. Before comedy, he and his wife both worked at Applebee's, he as a host, she as a server. He jokes that when he told her he wanted to be promoted to server, she hit him with, "You keep dreamin', alright?" not exactly confident he was "smart enough" for the job.

For dinner, her go-to is Chipotle, and she's even shouted it out on social media. In the same vein, she holds Domino's close to her heart as well, praising both chains online on more than one occasion.

On Tuesday, March 3, Love posted a clip of Auf der Maur on Instagram, set to Hole’s iconic song “Malibu.” Tagging the bassist, she asked, “So do we tell the kids about the tour @xmadmx?”

Auf der Maur responded in the comments section, “It starts with eternal love…,” to which Love replied, “and cycles through rage, loss, ecstasy, s**, death, poetry, filth, childbirth, the forest, the river the sea the sea… & ends with love.”

Fans couldn’t hide their excitement, eagerly hoping the tease meant the band was getting back together. “OMG I got chills over my entire body,” one wrote, while another said, “What did I miss?!?! I need this so much rn. We all do, collectively”

A third asked, “Miss Courtney, is this a drill or do I need to get my purse?!??”

Another decalred, “HOLE is coming back!!!??? Omg omg omg!!! Best news ever!!!”

If the rumors are true, this reunion has been a long time coming. Hole first rose to fame in the early '90s as an iconic alternative rock band, touring extensively after the release of 1994’s Live Through This and 1998’s Celebrity Skin, with sold-out shows across North America, Europe and Australia.

Their last full tour was in 1999, before the band broke up in 2002. Although they reunited briefly in the early 2010s for a handful of shows, Auf der Maur wasn’t part of that lineup — aside from a one-off appearance in April 2012. She hasn’t fully toured with Hole since the late '90s.

After Kristen Pfaff’s death, Auf der Maur joined Hole in 1994 and remained with the band until 1999, later joining TheSmashing Pumpkins

The potential return comes alongside exciting projects from both artists. Auf der Maur is set to release her autobiography, Even the Good Girls Will Cry: A 90s Rock Memoir, on March 17, while Love’s new documentary, Antiheroine, recently premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.

1980 Classic Ranked Best 'Funk Song of All Time' Became the Band's Biggest Hit of Their Career

Wed, 03/04/2026 - 11:26am

In 1980, Zapp released "More Bounce to the Ounce," and the tune changed the game for funk music.

The hit, ranked the best funk song of all time by Billboard, ended up not only becoming an iconic and timeless track, but also the band's biggest hit of their career. Released in 1980 as the debut single from Zapp’s self-titled album, “More Bounce to the Ounce” was produced by frontman Roger Troutman along with funk legend Bootsy Collins. The track immediately stood out during a competitive era for funk music, layering instrumentation and a deep bassline to create a sound that felt both raw and futuristic.

The song became a commercial breakthrough, reaching No. 2 on Billboard’s Hot Soul Singles chart (now Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs). It also helped propel the band’s debut album to gold certification, cementing the group as one of the genre’s rising forces.

How Roger Troutman’s Talk Box Created an Iconic Groove

One of the song’s most defining features was Troutman’s masterful use of the talk box—a vocal effect that allows musicians to shape instrument sounds with their mouth. Though the effect had been used before, the musical genius elevated it into a signature sound that became synonymous with Zapp. His robotic-yet-soulful vocal delivery on “More Bounce to the Ounce” would go on to influence generations of artists.

From Dayton, Ohio, to Funk Royalty

Zapp formed in Dayton, Ohio, a city that emerged as an unlikely funk hub in the 1970s and ’80s. Originally performing as Zapp & Roger, the band was led by brothers Roger, Larry, Lester, and Terry Troutman. Their high-energy performances and innovative sound set them apart in an era also shaped by acts like Parliament-Funkadelic. Collins played a key role in helping the group gain industry attention, connecting them with influential figures and helping refine their studio sound.

A Lasting Influence

Beyond its initial chart success, “More Bounce to the Ounce” became one of the most sampled funk tracks in hip-hop history. Artists such as EPMD and The Notorious B.I.G. have drawn from its groove, while producers like Dr. Dre helped build the West Coast G-funk sound around its blueprint. Today, the song stands not just as Zapp’s biggest hit ever, but as a defining pillar of funk itself.

Bizarre Paris Fashion Week Moment Triggers Wave of Shock

Wed, 03/04/2026 - 11:25am

Paris Fashion Week introduced a mix of glamour and spectacle, but one show stood out above the rest.

With the fashion calendar in full swing, spanning the big four cities like New York, London, Milan and currently Paris, the presentation of womenswear collections captured the spotlight like no other.

Amid the buzz surrounding the event, a fashion show sparked a storm of chatter on social media.

In a post on X, a video of the Matières Fécales Spring 2026 Ready-to-Wear Collection is trending after showing backstage moments from the show.

The video, posted by British internet personality and author Oli London, featured the models in bizarre-looking and otherworldly looks.

Michèle Lamy at the Matières Fécales fashion show as part of Paris Fashion Week Fall 2026.

Rather than glammed-up or traditionally styled models, the show emphasized a surreal aesthetic, with makeup and styling as a centerpiece of its shock factor.

From alien-like contouring, distorted features, pale skin and strange contact lenses, it left the public both fascinated and horrified by the unusual fashion presentation.

The comment section erupted with many describing the presentation as “demonic” and others openly criticizing it.

Welcome to Paris Fashion Week… pic.twitter.com/JFmOWbZXe6

— Oli London (@OliLondonTV) March 4, 2026

“I can't appreciate this kind of fashion…” one wrote.

“So, I guess the final form for fashion is demonically inspired…” a commenter agreed.

“This has to be a Halloween party, not a fashion show…” an X user said.

Others even compared it to the dystopian action film, writing “It’s worse than the Capitol in The Hunger Games,” while one called it a “Demon couture.”

Many felt that it departed from the true spirit of earlier Fashion Weeks, where collections celebrated genuine artistic expression.

“I am glad I saw France back in 2008 when it was still sexy,” a follower said.

The same goes for another who commented, “I'm old enough to remember when Paris Fashion Week was actually about beautiful and classy fashion. Now it's just a demonstration of freaks trying to outdo each to see who can be the most hideously shocking.”

Created by Hannah Rose Dalton and Steven Raj Bhaskaran, the brand Matières Fécales translates to “fecal matter” in English.

The label often highlights body-distorting designs and post-human aesthetics with its signature "alien-esque" makeup.

According to the founder, the focus is on the contrast and balance between unconventional beauty and meticulous craftsmanship.

“It literally means ‘shit’,” Bhaskaran told AnOther magazine, adding, “but for us, the concept has always been duality. To make that work, the clothes have to be well made – that’s the only way a name like ours makes sense in a luxury space.”

While others see it as grotesque and some as genius, Matières Fécales proves how they pushed boundaries leaving an undeniable mark on Paris Fashion Week.

Trader Joe's Issues Another Frozen Food Recall After Reports of Glass

Wed, 03/04/2026 - 11:25am

Shoppers who rely on quick freezer staples may want to take a closer look at what's currently sitting in their carts. Trader Joe's has alerted customers to another product issue, and this time it involves several popular frozen favorites.

The grocery chain shared the update directly with customers, noting that the move was made out of an abundance of caution. The notice is connected to a broader recall initiated by supplier Ajinomoto on Feb. 19, 2026. While no widespread injuries have been reported publicly, the concern centers around the potential presence of foreign material in certain items, especially glass.

Which Trader Joe's Products Are Affected

According to the company's email to customers, several frozen products are now included in the recall due to the potential presence of glass.

Trader Joe's bags of frozen fried rice products recalled due to possible glass contamination.

The affected items include:

  • Chicken Fried Rice with Best By Dates 03/04/2026 through 02/10/2027
  • Vegetable Fried Rice with Best By Dates 02/28/2026 through 11/19/2026
  • Japanese Style Fried Rice with Best By Dates 02/28/2026 through 11/14/2026
  • Chicken Shu Mai with Best By Dates 03/13/2026 through 10/23/2026

Trader Joe's previously recalled its Chicken Fried Rice earlier this year. This latest announcement expands that recall to include additional frozen products that may have been produced under similar conditions.

The company stated that the recall is related to the Ajinomoto action and is being carried out to ensure customer safety. The concern involves the potential contamination of foreign material, specifically glass.

What Shoppers Should Do Now

Customers who have purchased any of the affected products are urged not to eat them. Instead, Trader Joe’s advises returning the items to any store location for a full refund. A receipt is typically not required for recall-related returns.

If you're unsure whether your product is included, check the Best By date printed on the packaging. The recall applies only to the specific date ranges listed above.

Food recalls involving possible foreign materials, such as glass, are taken especially seriously because they pose a risk of injury if consumed. Even small fragments can cause harm.

While recalls can be unsettling, they are also a routine part of food safety oversight. In this case, Trader Joe's says it is acting out of caution in response to its supplier's earlier recall and expanding its own action to protect customers.

Anyone with questions can contact Trader Joe's customer relations for additional information. In the meantime, it may be worth double-checking your freezer before planning your next quick weeknight dinner.

Underrated U.S. National Historical Park Looks Like Something Out of a Fantasy Novel

Wed, 03/04/2026 - 11:20am

I am a proudly self-proclaimed nerd through and through, and when it comes to Lord of the Rings-level fantasy, setting is everything. There aren't many places in the world that could rival J.R.R. Tolkien's magical Middle-earth, but there are some. And believe it or not, they aren't all in New Zealand. In fact, a few are right here in America in stunning public historical parks, like Afterglow Vista in San Juan Island National Historical Park in the great state of Washington.

What makes this place so special isn't just the lush green landscape. There, in the middle of a deeply wooded area, sits a final resting place that looks like King Arthur's Round Table. The McMillin Memorial Mausoleum is a massive burial structure that holds the remains of Tacoma and Roche Harbor Lime Company founder John S. McMillin and his family members.

@l_noir

♬ оригинальный звук - Irina 🌺🌺🌺 What is the meaning behind the structure?

The open-air rotunda has six chairs, each bearing the name of the individual buried under the chair, that surround a table. Symbolically, it is supposed to represent a family dinner.

The limestone structure is surrounded by six columns that directly line up behind the chairs that represent each individual, and one broken column that represents the "unfinished work left behind after one's death."

A plaque at the site further explains some more of the symbolism:

“The structure is approached by two sets of stairs, representing the steps within the Masonic Order. The stairs on the east side of the mausoleum stand for the spiritual life of man. The winding in the path symbolizes that the future cannot be seen. The stairs were built in sets of three, five, and seven. This represents the three stages of life (youth, manhood, age), the five orders of architecture (Tuscan, Doric, Ionic, Corinthian, Composite), the five senses, and the seven liberal arts and sciences (grammar, rhetoric, logic, arithmetic, geometry, music, astronomy). The columns were created to be the same size as those in King Solomon’s Temple. The broken column represents the broken column of life — that man dies before his work is completed. The center of the mausoleum boasts a round table of limestone and concrete surrounded by six stone and concrete chairs. The chair bases are crypts for the ashes of the family, while the whole represents their reunion after death.”

So if you get an ethereal vibe from the place, you definitely aren't wrong; it was constructed with a lot of beautiful attention to detail.

How do you get to Afterglow Vista?

If you want to see this place firsthand, you cannot simply drive up to it. Visitors should prepare to hike trails that will lead you through a modest cemetery where McMillin's workers are buried. The trail is clearly marked with a wooden archway. If you're opting to travel at night, the National Park Service recommends bringing flashlights, as it is a rather remote location.

When visiting, it is important that you follow the "Leave No Trace" initiative, meaning that you take all of your trash with you. It kind of makes for the perfect setting for a dreamy photoshoot or a rousing game of DnD.

The park itself is full of hiking, biking, and wildlife viewing opportunities. Plus, its rich history is celebrated and honored at a local museum and features a fascinating sculpture park you can meander through.

More about San Juan Island

Of course, the mausoleum isn't the only thing worth seeing in San Juan Island County. It is a hub of history, art, and culture that tourists cannot seem to get enough of.

  • Go whale watching: Located in the heart of the Salish Sea, there are five different types of whales that can be spotted. It is considered the best place in the U.S. to see orcas.
  • Enjoy the arts: The island is known for its thriving arts culture. While there, you can arrange to take a class, peruse galleries, or check out local shops so a piece of the island can come home with you.
  • Take a unique hike: There are tons of hiking opportunities all around the island, but a day trip to Lopez Island's Shark Reef is truly unforgettable. This hidden gem is a short 10-minute walk through a forest that leads to a rocky shoreline. There, you can take in stunning views, catch seals and perhaps sea lions and otters in their natural habitat.

It's important to note that the islands are accessible either by charter plane or through ferries and water taxis. It will be worth the effort, though, especially if you get to live out your elvish/mermaid fantasies.

Demi Lovato Bashes Ex Boyfriend for Their 12-Year Age Gap: 'That's Not OK'

Wed, 03/04/2026 - 11:18am

Demi Lovato is speaking out about what she thought of her past relationship with a certain actor. Looking back on her time with her ex, the pop singer now realizes their controversial age-gap was an issue and speaks up on the reality of dating in the industry.

Speaking with Keke Palmeron a new episode of Palmer's podcast, Baby, This is Keke Palmer, Lovato didn't reveal the ex she was speaking about. For many who have followed her since her Disney Channel years, the ex in question isn't hard to place.

Palmer brought up the reality of growing up in the industry at a young age, and not many understand their relationship choices. The Burbs actor said, "I found myself dating. I’m 15. Why is my boyfriend 20?"

"Why was my boyfriend 30?" Lovato added. "You know what I’m saying?"

The ex she's referring to is none other than That 70's Show starWilmer Valderrama, who was 30 at the time when he started dating Lovato, who was 18. They began dating in 2010, with their relationship having been a hot topic of conversation for its age-gap of 12 years.

Palmer connected with Lovato by saying that child stars "were trying to find outlets" and a way to "process" their stardom, and it often came in the form of dating older men. Now married and turning 30 herself, Lovato looks back at how the age-gap wasn't a good thing overall.

"Nobody our age could understand," Lovato noted. "But then you look back in hindsight, when I turned 30, I was like, 'That’s not OK.'"

In response, Palmer said that once you get to an age that most people around you were at the time, you realize how "exploited" you were. The pop singer chimed in in agreement and added it was especially true if you're "mature for your age."

Lovato and Valderrama ended their relationship after six years of dating, and revealed in her 2017 documentary, Simply Complicated, that he first snubbed her advances. She met the actor at his home in 2010 when she was 17, and they only began dating when she turned a legal age. Despite their breakup, the two remain amicable.

Keep reading to find out what Barnes & Noble suggests should be your latest read.

Both of the writer’s previous novels examine the complexities of marriage and friendship, themes that she continues to explore in Lake Effect.

In Lake Effect, Sweeney connects the past with the present as she explores how past choices reverberate into the future.

JetBlue Vacations Enters Partnership to Offer Travelers 'Great Weather Guarantee'

Worried about storm clouds literally raining on your parade? According to a Mar. 3, 2026 press release, you won't need to fret when traveling with JetBlue Vacations. That's because the company is partnering with the Jamaica Tourist Board and WeatherPromise to offer travelers a "Great Weather Guarantee" that will give visitors $500 back if it rains more than they were promised it would during their stay.

Of course, there are a few caveats to this collaboration. According to the statement it looks like you will only be able to take advantage of this offer if you book an eligible flight and hotel package through the company from Mar. 1 through May 31, 2026. The flights offered during these months will indicate what the expected rainfall will be during your stay, and if it exceeds that, your account will be credited $500.

“Jamaica is a destination of rich culture and warm hospitality,” said Hon. Edmund Bartlett, Minister of Tourism, Jamaica in the statement. “The Great Weather Guarantee allows travelers to fully embrace everything our island has to offer with added confidence. We are proud to collaborate with JetBlue Vacations and WeatherPromise to help visitors create unforgettable memories across Jamaica’s unique landscapes and vibrant communities.”

Trips that are eligible for the "Great Weather Guarantee" will have offer automatically added to their trip. The company will be responsible for monitoring the weather during the stay, and if the rainfall amounts exceed the estimated threshold at the time of the booking, JetBlue Vacations will contact customers to see how they'd like to receive their $500 payout.

But, not all packages will have this offer. According to the press release, they will only be applied to:

  • Flights booked between Mar. 1 - May 26
  • Travel dates that begin within 7 days of booking
  • Trips taken before Dec. 1, 2026
  • Vacations lasting between 3-16 nights

How Much Does it Rain in Jamaica

If you're anything like me, your first question was likely "how much rain does Jamaica get?" According to Encyclopedia Britannica, Jamaica sees about 82 inches of rain per year. That rain falls seasonally, with most of it happening in October and May. However, June through September are known for their pop up thunderstorms. While those storms sound like they are typically short, these may be the days when you're most likely to see those rainy day payouts happen, since they will be less predictable than the rain that falls during the island's wet season.

'The Pitt' Star Lucas Iverson Reacts to Intense Fan Backlash: 'I’ve Been Surprised — in a Great Way' (Exclusive)

Wed, 03/04/2026 - 11:00am

When The Pitt returned for a second shift earlier this year, there were a considerable number of new faces to get used to. There's Dr. Al-Hashimi (Sepideh Moafi), who has spent the day so far trying to learn from Robby (Noah Wyle) before he takess of on sabbatical while simultaneously bristling at their very different methods. Doe-eyed Emma (Laëtitia Hollard) has been taken under Dana's (Katherine LaNasa) wing, given a crash course in all things ER nursing.

But far and away the most talked-about new character on The Pitt is Ogilvie (Lucas Iverson) — and not necessarily for good reason.

🎬SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬

The fourth-year medical student is at the PTMC for his first day, training under the tutelage of Whitaker (Gerran Howell). But the vibe that Ogilvie gives off, you'd think he was already a resident. From the beginning, he proved his vast amount of medical knowledge, even squaring off at points with fellow braniac Javadi (Shabana Azeez). But even if Ogilvie can name every illness in the book, there's one crucial skill he lacks: Bedside manners.

And indeed, it's moments that perhaps showcase a lack of Ogilvie's empathy that have earned him the ire of the Emmy-winning show's fanbase. For instance, following the heart-shattering death of Louie (Ernest Harden Jr.), he bluntly broke the news that Whitaker lost one of his favorite patients, stating, "He croaked" in between yawns. In this most recent episode, when an obese man (Craig Ricci Shaynak) visited the ER, Ogilvie seems to be primarily concerned with making comments and questions that refer to his weight, earning the ire of the other doctors in the room — as well as the audience.

"I will say I've been surprised in a great way how much people hate Ogilvie in general," Iverson tells Parade, smiling with a laugh, in an exclusive interview. "One of our doctors on set, he's brilliant, a real-life emergency room attending. He was like, 'I think people are really going to fall in love with Ogilvie.' And I was like, 'I think that's too far!'"

Below, Iverson talks with Parade about how he got the role of Ogilvie, the reaction to some of his more insensitive moments, and his prickly relationship with Javadi.

Talk to me about how you first got onto The Pitt. Were you a fan of the showbefore you auditioned?
So I was a fan of The Pitt. I mean, who wasn't by the time that the second season rolled around? I overlapped with Patrick [Ball] at school. So I first checked it out when it dropped for him, and then came back when the whole season was done and continued to watch. And I was like, "Well, let me see how Patrick was doing." And then I was like, "Hang on, this is actually really, really good!" And was an instant fan of the show.

Coming on set was a crazy thing. I had some idea what it would be like, because when I got the job, I called Patrick, and he gave me a little bit of the skinny as to what it was like. But by the time I got this audition, it was my fifth time coming in for the show. So I it was just the right character in the right time. I'd had one audition do okay before, and so I think the producers knew of me. And then when this one hit, they went all the way.

Who had you auditioned for prior to going in for Ogilvie?
It was patients. It was medics. But the first one was for Whitaker. Don't tell Gerran! [Laughs.]

[Laughs.] So it all works out in a way! When you end up booking the role, what information did R. Scott Gemmill and John Wells give you abou the character before you started filming?
It was very, very light. There was no sit down. Basically, I got the breakdown with the audition. And it was really succinct. I think they didn't want to reveal too much about what they had planned. And so it was just like, "Really smart. Likes to show how smart he is. Can't read a room." And from that, I did my audition, I did a little callback.

I got one note when I was trying to be really competitive. John Wells, very brilliantly, was like, "It's more about showing how much you know than it is taking somebody else down." Which I think is a just like an internal adjustment that makes Ogilvie make a lot more sense, at least for me. And that was all I had heard until I showed up for my fitting. At which point I started hearing all the scuttlebutt. They're like, "Oh, so you're an asshole, huh?" And I was like, "What?" They're like, "Yeah, you're a real gunner. You're a gunner, and you and Javadi fight." And I was like, "Whoa! This is all news to me!"

Ogilvie, as a med student, gets a lot of mentors while working in the ER. Did you have a particular actor on set who helped show you the ropes? Did you and Patrick get to reconnect?
It was so funny. When we landed, I was all up in his business about figuring things out. If I had a question I would ask him, and he was so generous with his time. But we ended up not shooting together a ton. It was just that Langdon and Ogilvie didn't overlap in the scenes very much. And so because of that, we ended up on kind of different schedules, and I stopped being able to throw all my questions on this one trusted ally, this big brother to me.

And then I got really lucky in that, you know, the role of the med student is sort of passed around. Especially someone as obnoxious as Ogilvie, where people are like, "I think you should take him for a little." And I got to work with just about everybody, and everybody, in turn, became a mentor to Lucas, too. They were so generous with their talent and their time, with all of my questions, and allowing me to sit there and watch takes after I was wrapped for the day. I would come in on an off-day and go to the gym on the lot, and then I would come and just watch for hours and just try and learn more about this crazy thing.

Let's talk about one of the first beats we experience from Ogilvie, to the point where it was mentioned to you on-set: His dynamic with Javadi. As John mentioned, while he's not trying to take her down, there's a clear competition between the two of you to show who's smarter. Though you're able to prove two heads are better than one in this most recent episode, helping a patient with a mysterious rash. What's your take on how that relationship developed?
I think it's sort of the proverbial moth to the flame. Ogilvie sees in Javadi this intensely intelligent person, this person who is somebody who's beloved by the ED, who knows their way around. And, as he later finds out, has a nepotism connection. And I think in that he simultaneously is filled with this admiration, this attraction to her intelligence. And I don't mean that in a romantic way. Even though I've seen whispers people being like, "Oh, are they going to be rivals to lovers?"

It's The Pitt fandom, Lucas. Everyone is shipped with everyone.
[Laughs.] It's true. And I think it's Ogilvie is attracted to her in the sense that this is somebody who is similar to me in that way. I feel a kinship with you. And also with the moth to the flame, the flame is threatening when you get too close, right? So he's both afraid of her taking opportunity from him that he's worked so hard for, and also admires her so much for the way that she is in the world. And I think, like in Episode 2, when they have that little schism, it feels a little more rivalrous than it does when we end up collaborating later in the season. And then he really is like, "Oh, I mess with this person. She's smart. I love throwing it back and forth, teasing each other. I love working with her. She's where it's at."

So we need to get into some of Ogilvie's more talked-about moments. Most recently, we see his comments and questions towards Howard about his weight, something that draws offense from both the characters and the fans. Do you have a reason why he seems to have this lack of empathy when it comes to bedside manner?
Oh, of course. I mean, as an actor, I think we have an obligation to the humanity of these characters, and Ogilvie's humanity is something that I was constantly trying to excavate and mine and slip in wherever I could, while still honoring that this is all one day. How much does it take for a person to really have lasting change over the events of one day?

I think that Ogilvie is really, actually quite soft. I think we have that in common, he and I. And I think that there's two things that are getting in his way right now. He, by and large, views patients not as problems, but as opportunities to practice medicine. Howard is a great example. He thinks that he's throwing out suggestions. He's not mindful that hearing this could have harmful effects on Howard, and I think that it doesn't really occur to him that there's impact to the way he goes about this thing.

I also think that Ogilvie really wants to keep himself safe. I think that there is an intentional detachment, because he knows how common grief and loss and suffering is in this line of work. He is set on emergency medicine, and he's a smart kid. He knows what it takes to be a doctor, at least intellectually. And I think he's wary of it, right? And I think if he were to allow himself to attach to a patient, and something were to happen, I think it would cost him and his mind too much, in a way that he is not sure he is able to recover from and continue on in the path.

One of Ogilvie's most talked-about moments is how he broke the news to Whitaker that Louie had died, nonchalantly saying, "He croaked." What was your reaction to that? Because it certainly earned a large amount of ire from the audience!
[Laughs.] Yeah, gosh. I mean, I will say I've been surprised in a great way how much people hate Ogilvie in general. And this moment is no exception. This is something that I didn't flag. Of all the things that I flagged as like, "Oh, people are going to kill this guy," this was not one of them. So I've been pretty surprised by it.

But it makes perfect sense. And when you see, of course, Louie's journey through the season — Ernest does such beautiful work — it tracks, I think for Ogilvie. It's like, "We treated this guy for 15 minutes. And he's a chronic alcoholic. This is all in line with what's supposed to happen for somebody like this. Go figure. "He says it himself. I think "he croaked" does come across cruel. And poor Whitaker! At least, that's how Lucas feels.

You mentioned flagging moments that you expected the audience to dislike Ogilvie. I've seen headlines along the lines of "Is Ogilvie the Worst Character?" and "The Pitt Season 2 Has The Worst TV Character Of The Year (So Far)." So what's been your reaction to the hate your character has received?
I didn't think it would be like this. One of our doctors on set, Jake, he's a brilliant, real-life emergency room attending. Great guy, genius. He was like, "I think people are really going to fall in love with Ogilvie." And I was like, "I think that's too far. I don't think that's what's going to happen." But I didn't think that he would be the way that he is. Although I'll say I'm grateful, because I think it's a reception to the story that we're trying to tell. I think it's a response to the writers and how effectively they're able to communicate. People were so pissed at Santos.

Have you talked with Isa Briones yet about how to handlethe fan's reception?
I haven't yet. I've really been good in therapy about it all so far on my own. [Laughs.] But if it gets worse, maybe I'll give her a call.

McDonald's CEO Said He Ate at the Chain '3 or 4 Times a Week' Months Before Viral Video

Wed, 03/04/2026 - 10:50am

McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski once said he ate at the fast-food chain three to four times a week—just months before a viral video appeared to show him struggling to eat one of its burgers.

In a resurfaced Instagram clip posted on Oct. 15, 2025, the executive responded to one of the most frequently asked questions from McDonald's fans.

"Question recently came in on my Instagram: How often do I eat at McDonald's?" Kempczinski said. "I would tell you it's a lot. Probably three or four times a week. Sometimes it might be a breakfast, sometimes it might be a lunch. But hey, one of the perks of the job, you get to eat at McDonald's a lot."

Even before the CEO went viral online, commenters were skeptical he ate at McDonald's that often—or even at all.

"Yes, he eats AT McDonalds…he didn’t say he eats McDonalds food," one commenter wrote in October. "Yeah right 😂 not a chance." said another.

Kempczinski went viral earlier this week after a video surfaced of him attempting to eat the company’s massive new Big Arch burger.

In the clip, he takes what appears to be a very small bite, prompting viewers to point out that he didn’t seem eager to dig into the burger—or any of the McDonald’s items on his tray.

Still, Kempczinski says in the video, “That’s a big bite for a Big Arch,” before holding up the barely eaten burger to the camera.

The moment even drew a response from Burger King North America President Tom Curtis, who posted his own video demonstrating how he eats a burger. In the clip, Curtis takes a giant bite out of the chain's signature Whopper, even getting a little bit of mayonnaise on his face.
