Drew Carey Reveals Heart Attack & the Symptoms He Ignored

Fri, 03/06/2026 - 1:08pm

The Price is Right host Drew Carey recently revealed that he suffered a heart attack, along with the symptoms he had ignored.

On the March 4 episode of Ted Danson's Where Everybody Knows Your Name podcast, Carey, 67, recalled his 2001 health emergency, which happened while filming The Drew Carey Show.

“I was really overweight, and we were supposed to come back to taping,” he said of the incident. “So, I had a little chest heart monitor and whatever. And I was jogging down my street, and my heart rate went up to like 160 or something like that, like really crazy, and I was like, ‘Oh.’ And I felt, like, numb in my shoulder.”

Carey continued, "But I thought if you had a heart attack, you go 'Ehh!' and fall down. Like in a cartoon. I thought that's what happened when you had a heart attack. So I was like, 'That's really worrisome, let me slow down.'"

Although he slowed down and then tried running again, his heart rate spiked again, so he eventually stopped. That same day, he went to a Bob's Big Boy with his then-girlfriend.

"I had chili spaghetti and an iced tea after a heart attack," Carey pointed out.

That next day, while on set to film The Drew Carey Show, he felt sharp pain in his chest and had someone call 911. He ended up spending the night at a hospital and undergoing a procedure to have a stent put in his heart.

"I left the next day, and I was just like weak as a kitten," Carey recalled.

Elsewhere in the podcast episode, Carey said that he hardly ate any vegetables before he started losing weight.

"I would go to a steak place and have the steak, the bread, the loaded mashed potatoes, a couple beers, and then a dessert," he shared. "And whatever vegetable was there, I would just leave it there."

Carey continued, "After that, I would go to a steakhouse, I'd eat the steak, the vegetables, not order a potato or not touch it, not really have the bread, and I just drink water all day," he said. "Like, I don't even drink—I don't drink alcohol at all anymore. It's wild."

Today, he regularly eats salads for lunch. "When I'm eating, like, a salad that has green beans and stuff in it, I'm like, ‘Man, 20 years ago, 25 years ago, I wouldn't have touched this.’"

10 years later, 'Below Deck' Deckhand Sues Producers for 'Sexually Aggressive' Portrayal

Fri, 03/06/2026 - 1:07pm

After waiting a decade, Below Deck Season 3 deckhand Emile Kotze is suing Bravo's parent company, NBCUniversal, for being placed in “a hostile work environment rife with sexual harassment, manipulation, and dangerous conditions — all engineered for television ratings.”

In a federal lawsuit filed in New York, Kotze claims that even though he “expressed hesitance," producers  “began steering” him into a “romantic entanglement” with third stew Raquel “Rocky” Dakota. Toward the beginning of the season, Kotz is seen sheepishly asking Datoka out on a date, where he was overserved at dinner. He was seen continuing to pine for Dakota until she literally spelled out that he’d been friend-zoned in a note. At that point, Dakota and bosun Eddie Lucas began a steamy secret romance.

“They orchestrated situations: arranging for Plaintiff and Rocky to work together often, scheduling them alone on night shifts,” according to the amended complaint, filed in Oct. 2025, via Entertainment Weekly.

Kotz also alleges that producers “plied” him with alcohol and also "told Plaintiff a line to use on Rocky while cameras rolled — a cheesy pickup line that Plaintiff normally would never say.” Kotz also alleged that "Defendants defamed Plaintiff by deceptively editing footage to portray him in a false and damaging light, misappropriated his likeness for continued commercial gain without consent, and engaged in a cover-up and retaliation campaign to silence and discredit him when he sought redress.”

Kotze is reportedly seeking between $633 million and $850 million in damages, including $123 million in lost future earnings after claiming his yachting career was destroyed. He is also requesting at least $10 million for emotional harm and up to $500 million in punitive damages against NBCUniversal.

In 2020, Kotz shared that he marked four years of sobriety. “I have not picked up a mind or mood altering substance since 29 July 2016,” Kotze shared on Instagram. “The one photo in the reel of me not flexing is of my grandparents who have reunited in heaven who have been a cornerstone throughout my life. I have made it this far and can smile just for today 2020 has made me strong.”

This Elegant $7 Aldi Find Makes One Cooking Staple Look So Much More Sophisticated

Fri, 03/06/2026 - 1:05pm

I'm not the kind of person who falls for every shiny kitchen gadget that pops up on a store shelf. My drawers are not overflowing with avocado slicers, banana cutters or whatever else the internet insists will change my life. In fact, I'm usually pretty skeptical of anything that promises to revolutionize the way I cook. Most of the time, a good knife and a sturdy cutting board get the job done just fine.

But every now and then, a kitchen tool comes along that actually earns its spot on the counter. The kind of thing that doesn't just sit there looking cute, but genuinely makes cooking a little smoother, a little more enjoyable, or even just keeps a staple ingredient in better shape.

Crofton Ceramic Butter Bell, $6.99 at Aldi

Aldi

Just look at Aldi's charming little Crofton Ceramic Butter Bell. It's giving farmhouse energy and would add a nostalgic touch to any kitchen counter, but what, pray tell, does it do?

Glad you asked, because I ended up doing a deep dive on the butter bell's origin story. Not to get all history teacher on you, but in short, this little crock was invented in late-19th-century France so folks could keep butter on the counter without it spoiling. And that's still the purpose of a butter bell today.

Related: Target Shoppers Say This Pretty Little Scalloped Wood Shelf Is 'Perfect,' and It's Only $5

The design is simple: softened butter gets packed into the lid, which sits upside down in a small base filled with water. That water creates an airtight seal, keeping the butter fresh while still perfectly spreadable on the counter. The bell shape isn't just stylish—it helps hold the butter in place and makes it easy to dip in and out without a mess.

At $6.99, I'm willing to give Aldi's take on the butter bell a try. After all, who wouldn't want room-temperature butter at the ready to slather on a fresh loaf of bread? It sounds absolutely divine.

While you're grabbing your ceramic butter bell, check out the Aldi Finds aisle for other great kitchen items that, yes, you might actually need. There are reversible drying mats in pretty colorways, as well as snack boxes that are perfect for grab-and-go eating when you know you'll be running errands all day.

Emirates Resumes Travel After Cancelling Flights to and from the UK—But There's a Catch

Fri, 03/06/2026 - 1:02pm

From those who found themselves stranded abroad, to people wondering what was going to happen with their upcoming trips, international passengers were left largely in the lurch after the surprise bombing of Iran on Feb. 28. However, just under a week later, it sounds like some airlines are cautiously optimistic about things, and have begun resuming service lines.

Emirates is among them, and the airline says it will now allow select flights to resume over the next few days. However, passengers shouldn't expect things to return to normal, as there are a few catches to the airline's return to the skies.

Emirates is Working to Restore Flight Services to and from the U.K.

The airline has annouced that it will resume select flights from Dubai and Abu Dhabi over the next few days. The news has to be music to the ears of residents who have been stuck overseas since the conflict in the Middle East erupted last weekend, grounding tens of thousands of planes and leaving many international travelers stranded with no way to get home.

View this post on Instagram

However, Yahoo! Travel says that passengers shouldn't expect things to run seamlessly at first. The first flight to land at England's Stansted Airport this morning arrived after a 24 hour delay, which the publication says was said to have been caused by "technical issues."

So, which passengers will be the first to get to see their travel plans realized? According to Yahoo! Travel, it will be those whose flights were delayed or cancelled due to the military action.

Other Airlines Are Also Resuming Flight Services

Emirates isn't the only airline tentatively getting back to work. According to Yahoo! Travel, several other airlines are taking advantage of the relative quiet in the Middle East right now in order to get some passengers back home, including:

  • Etihad Airways will resume its Abu Dhabi service line beginning Friday
  • British Airways will resume its Oman service line beginning Friday
  • Kuwait Airways will resume its service to Dammam Airport beginning Saturday
  • Virgin Atlantic will resume its service to Dubai on Friday

Regional Conflicts Can Change Plans in an Instant

I can't even begin how stressful it must be to try and plan your travel around what is likely to be a prolonged war between the U.S. and Iran (although I would argue that living in the region is far worse), which makes it even more frustrating to know that all of these planned returns to normal could change at any moment for travelers.

That's because USA Today says that airlines are constantly analyzing what is going on in the regions they fly through, taking note of potential threats to their pilots, flight crew, and passengers. An aviation lawyer spoke with the publication about the potential for air travel delays, saying that airlines prioritize their work in a way that ensures flights will be "safe, orderly and expeditious."

"You could say the expeditious movement of air traffic is the lowest of the three priorities, but you want to have it safe and orderly to have it expeditious," Mark Dombroff told the publication before saying that safety is always the top priority.

Priyanka Chopra Shares Heartbreaking Details About Husband Nick Jonas' Relationship with her Father

Fri, 03/06/2026 - 1:00pm

The wonderfully talented Priyanka Chopra had a very close relationship with her father, Ashok Chopra, before he died in 2013. The Indian actor recently revealed some heartbreaking details about the relationship she wishes her husband Nick Jonas could have had with her father.

Priyanka, 43, appeared on the YouTube interview show Last Meals hosted by Josh Scherer, during which the two shared several dishes that Priyanka selected as her hypothetical "last meal ever." During the interview, Priyanka reflected on her life and career so far, as well as opened up about her tight-knit relationship with her late father and all the ways that he supported her.

"My dad was my biggest champion," Priyanka said on the show. "He was really loud about how proud of me he was. He wasn't ashamed of telling everyone."

Ashok Chopra was a military man and musician who bravely battled cancer for eight years before he died in 2013 at the age of 62. One of Priyanka's greatest wishes, she said on Last Meals, was for her father to have met Jonas, whom she met four years later and married in 2018.

"I talk about my father so much — I'm so influenced by him," Priyanka said. "Nick is exactly the kind of person my dad would have picked for me if he had a choice, someone who is a musician. My dad's first love was music."

She continued, "More than anything, Nick is a really wise soul. I think that he [Ashok] would have wanted someone like that for me, 'cause that ain't me... That would have been a wish of mine — that my dad would have met my husband and my daughter." Priyanka and Jonas welcomed their daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, to the world in 2022.

Priyanka revealed more details about her relationship with her father, along with other important life stories, in her 2021 memoir Unfinished. The actor and producer stars in the recently released film The Bluff, directed by Frank E. Flowers. She will also be starring in her first Indian film since 2019, Varanasi, which is slated for release in April 2027, as well opposite Zac Efron and Will Ferrell in the upcoming comedy Judgment Day.

"I'm really grateful for having lived the life I've had — the good, the bad, all of it — because I'm really proud of the woman I've become," Priyanka concluded during the show. "And I'm OK with the mistakes my younger self made, 'cause it led me to who I am today."

Oscar 2026 Predictions: Who Will Win and Who Could Pull Off an Upset?

Fri, 03/06/2026 - 12:55pm

The race for the Oscars is coming down to the wire, and it feels like we might be in for some massive surprises. It has been a great year for movies, and certainly a wild one. Honestly, nobody is 100% sure sure who is taking home the big trophies yet. Right now, all eyes are on Sinners and One Battle After Another. Both of these have not only stunned the world with their epic storytelling, but they have also been cleaning up at all the pre-Oscars ceremonies lately.

Paul Thomas Anderson's black comedy One Battle After Another is gaining momentum after its big win at the Producers Guild Awards (PGA). Meanwhile, Ryan Coogler's horror-drama is already in the record books as the most-nominated movie the Academy has ever seen. On the other hand, the Best Actor category is also wide open now that Michael B. Jordan grabbed the win at the 2026 Actor Awards for his portrayal in Sinners.

Amazon Studios

It is anyone's game right now, and that's what makes this year's awards season so exciting. Since no one has a lock on the trophy yet, the night is wide open for some big surprises. With the ceremony just around the corner on March 15th, 2026, here are our predictions for Hollywood's biggest night.

Best Picture

Warner Bros. Pictures

There is no doubt that this year's Best Picture race has been a heavyweight battle between Sinners and One Battle After Another. While One Battle After Another has a strong backing after winning major industry prizes like the PGA and DGA, Sinners has been dominating much of the awards season. It has picked up numerous accolades along the way and even set a new record with 16 Oscar nods. Moreover, its Best Ensemble win at this year's Actor Awards indicates that the film has strong support, giving it the kind of momentum that could lead to a surprise win.

Still, if you look at the past trends and statistics, One Battle After Another appears to have a slight edge going to the star-studded ceremony.

Predicted Winners: One Battle After Another
Could Win: Sinners

Best Director

Right now, it looks like a one-horse race. Early on, fans were split between Ryan Coogler and Paul Thomas Anderson, but the momentum shifted quickly once awards season kicked off. Anderson has basically cleared the table, taking home the Golden Globe, BAFTA, Critics' Choice, and DGA awards. His work on One Battle After Another makes him the clear favorite to finally land his first Oscar for directing.

Still, the Academy could pull a surprise. If Coogler wins for Sinners, he’d make history twice over: as the first Black filmmaker to win the category and the first to do it with a horror movie. It would be a massive statement for the genre.

Predicted Winner: Paul Thomas Anderson, One Battle After Another
Could Win: Ryan Coogler, Sinners

Best Actor in a Leading Role - Male

We haven't seen a race this tight in years. Usually, by the time the Oscars roll around, someone like Brendan Fraser or Cillian Murphy has already locked it up. This year is different. Timothée Chalamet was the early frontrunner after his Golden Globe and Critics' Choice wins for Marty Supreme, but he hit a wall after losing at the BAFTAs and the Actor Awards.

Photo by Dia Dipasupil on Getty Images

Now, Michael B. Jordan has the upper hand after his big win at the Actor Awards. History is on his side here, as almost every winner since 2000 has won either a BAFTA or an Actor Award. Chalamet has neither, which leaves him in a tough spot. Meanwhile, Wagner Moura and Leonardo DiCaprio are the "dark horses." They have a huge amount of support from the Academy’s growing international voting block.

Predicted Winner: Michael B. Jordan, Sinners
Could Win: Leonardo DiCaprio, One Battle After Another/Wagner Moura, The Secret Agent

Best Actor in a Leading Role - Female

You can basically sum up this category with one name: Jessie Buckley. Her performance in Hamnet has been a juggernaut. She managed a rare "grand slam" this season, winning the Critics' Choice, Globe, BAFTA, and the Actor Award. It’s been over a decade since someone swept all four major awards and lost the Oscar, so it would be a historic shock if she didn't win.

Predicted Winner: Jessie Buckley, Hamnet
Could Win: Rose Byrne, If I Had Legs, I'd Kick You

Supporting Actor - Male

This is one of those categories that can go anywhere. Sean Penn is currently leading the pack after his wins at the BAFTAs and the Actor Awards for his role in One Battle After Another. But Stellan Skarsgård is right on his heels for Sentimental Value. One factor to consider is the "campaign." Penn doesn't usually show up to these events, and some voters might prefer to reward someone like Skarsgård, who is more active on the circuit.

Predicted Winner: Sean Penn, One Battle After Another
Could Win: Stellan Skarsgård, Sentimental Value

Supporting Actor - Female

This category is a total toss-up. If you thought covering the Awards Season was fun and didn't include any stress, just follow the Supporting Actress race this year, and you'll get to know the reality.

Photo by Matt Carr on Getty Images

Amy Madigan started strong with a Critics' Choice win, but then Teyana Taylor took the Golden Globe and Wunmi Mosaku won the BAFTA. While Madigan did win the Actor Award, it’s still anyone’s game. The big hurdle for Madigan is that her movie, Weapons, doesn’t have any other nominations. Usually, a movie needs more overall support for an actor to win. That gives an edge to Taylor, since her film is a Best Picture favorite.

Predicted Winner: Amy Madigan, Weapons
Could Win: Teyana Taylor, One Battle After Another; Wunmi Mosaku, Sinners

Best International Feature

This started as a three-way tie, but Joachim Trier’s Sentimental Value has become the one to beat. Norway’s entry has all the momentum right now. However, this category is often influenced by global events. Jafar Panahi’s It Was Just an Accident is a very powerful film, and voters might choose it to support the filmmaker or acknowledge the message behind the movie.

Predicted Winner:Sentimental Value
Could Win:It Was Just an Accident/The Secret Agent

Sentimental Value

TIFF

Best Animated Feature

There isn’t much of a debate here. Netflix’s K-pop Demon Hunters became a massive hit with both critics and the public. It has dominated every award show so far, and it’s safe to say it has this one locked up. You can go ahead and call this one early.

Predicted Winner:K-pop Demon Hunters
Could Win:Zootopia 2

Original Screenplay

Ryan Coogler looks set to win for Sinners. He took a tired genre like vampire movies and turned it into a modern classic. The script has already won at the BAFTAs and Critics' Choice. If he wins at the WGA awards on March 8, it’s officially over. The only real threat is It Was Just an Accident, which has been a critics' darling all year.

Predicted Winner:Sinners, Ryan Coogler
Could Win:It Was Just an Accident

Adapted Screenplay

This category is a showdown between a "literary phenomenon" and a fan favorite. Paul Thomas Anderson took a famously difficult novel, Vineland, and turned it into One Battle After Another. He’s already won the BAFTA, Critics' Choice, and Golden Globe for it. While Chloe Zhao’s Hamnet has plenty of fans, Anderson’s achievement in adapting such a complex book makes him the favorite.

Predicted Winner:One Battle After Another, Paul Thomas Anderson
Could Win:Hamnet, Chloe Zhao

Leonardo DiCaprio in One Battle After Another

Warner Bros. Pictures

American Airlines Meal Mix-Up Leaves Travelers Hungry and Frustrated

Fri, 03/06/2026 - 12:53pm

Few things heighten travel anxiety like hunger at 35,000 feet. A delayed flight is frustrating. A cramped seat is tolerable. But when the meal you carefully pre-ordered never appears, passengers notice.

That is exactly what some travelers recently experienced on flights operated by American Airlines, particularly on routes connecting the United States and Heathrow Airport in London. A catering disruption has forced the airline to simplify onboard meals, leaving passengers with far fewer choices and sometimes no access to the meals they had reserved before boarding. For travelers who plan their inflight dining ahead of time, especially on long international flights, the change has sparked confusion, frustration, and plenty of commentary online.

Get the latest travel inspiration and news delivered straight to your inbox.

Why American Airlines Meals Suddenly Became Limited

The issue began when American Airlines halted local catering services at Heathrow, forcing the airline to adopt a temporary workaround. Instead of loading fresh meals in London, flights departing the United States are now stocked with extra food that is meant to cover the return trip as well.

That workaround has created an unavoidable limitation. Aircraft galleys simply do not have space for two full flights’ worth of meals. As a result, meal service has been simplified across cabins, including premium seats. Pre-ordered meals are not always honored, and passengers are often given only two choices: a protein dish or a vegetarian option.

Other small touches travelers enjoy have also disappeared during the disruption. Aviation reporting indicates that some premium cabins temporarily lost extras like ice cream or specialty menu items because they cannot be stored alongside the additional catering supplies.

Related: United Airlines Is Finally Cracking Down on One of Flying’s Biggest Annoyances

Passengers Take to Reddit to Vent About Missing Meals

Predictably, travelers did what travelers do best when something goes wrong in the sky. They went online. Posts about the issue quickly appeared on Reddit forums devoted to airline travel, where flyers shared photos, stories, and a fair amount of sarcasm.

One frustrated passenger reacting to the reduced meal service wrote: “Are you freaking kidding me?”

Another traveler described a long cross-country trip where food options were shockingly sparse: “We were only allowed ONE biscotti cookie each… over ten hours and NO food.”

Others reported receiving emails warning them that their pre-ordered business class meals might not be available at all. What stands out reading these posts is not just the frustration. It is how much passengers rely on inflight meals as part of the overall travel experience. For many people, the ritual of choosing a meal before departure is one of the few small comforts that break up a long international flight.

Why In-Flight Food Matters More Than Airlines Realize

On paper, inflight meals might seem like a minor detail. After all, the real goal of air travel is getting from point A to point B safely. But airline food has always played a surprisingly important role in how travelers perceive a flight. In the early decades of commercial aviation, meals were one of the primary ways airlines differentiated themselves. Elegant dining service was once a major selling point of air travel.

Today the expectations are lower, but the psychology remains the same. When passengers board a long flight, they are entering a confined environment where small comforts matter. A warm meal, a dessert cart, or even a decent snack can break up the monotony of hours spent in the air. That is why when food disappears or becomes unpredictable, passengers notice immediately.

I have personally experienced this moment mid-flight when a flight attendant announces that a meal option has run out halfway down the aisle. Suddenly the entire cabin becomes very attentive.

Tips for Travelers When Airline Catering Goes Wrong

While situations like this are usually temporary, seasoned travelers know it is wise to plan ahead. Here are a few simple strategies that can save you from inflight hunger:

  • Pack a small meal or snacks before boarding, especially for long international routes.
  • Choose airport restaurants over relying on airline meals when possible.
  • Bring portable foods such as protein bars, nuts, or sandwiches.
  • Check airline notifications before departure, as some travelers received warnings about limited meals.

These habits are becoming increasingly common as airlines adjust services and catering logistics.

Subscribe to our newsletter and get the latest travel updates delivered straight to your inbox.

The Bigger Lesson for Travelers

Airline catering disruptions happen more often than travelers realize. Supply chain hiccups, aircraft changes, and airport catering issues can all affect what ends up on your tray table.
For now, the meal situation affecting American Airlines flights to and from London appears to be a temporary operational workaround rather than a permanent policy change. The airline has reportedly increased food supplies on departing flights from the U.S. to help ensure that at least some meals remain available on the return journey.

Still, the episode serves as a reminder that in modern air travel, the safest assumption is simple. If you are counting on a specific meal in the sky, it might be wise to bring a backup snack in your carry-on. Because nothing makes turbulence feel worse than being hungry at cruising altitude.

McDonald’s Is Giving Away Free Food in Exchange for Your First Job Life Lessons

Fri, 03/06/2026 - 12:51pm

McDonald’s is betting that your first job was more than just a paycheck. It might have been a masterclass in chaos.

Launching today, the fast-food giant debuted its First Job Confessional experience in New York City. Partnering with reality TV personalityOlandria Carthen, the brand is offering fans free meals in exchange for stepping into a stylized booth and confessing the highlights (or lowlights) of their very first professional gig. The campaign kicks off on National Employee Appreciation Day to highlight the "1 in 8" community: the roughly 40 million Americans who began their careers under the golden arches.

A Reality TV Spin on Professional Skills

The confessional booth is designed to look like a set from a hit streaming series. Wrapped in signature colors, the exterior is plastered with the real-world skills many people learn during their first shifts: Teamwork, Endurance, and Problem-Solving.

Once inside, fans are prompted by a recording screen to answer one simple question: "What was your first job?". After sharing a story about a first boss, a uniform mishap, or a hard-earned lesson, participants walk away with a free meal.

McDonald's

The 1 in 8 Connection

For Carthen, the partnership is a nod to her own roots. The media personality, known for her sharp commentary, recently visited a McDonald’s location to suit up in a navy crew uniform and work the fry station alongside current employees. The campaign is built on the fact that one out of every eight people in the U.S. has worked at a McDonald’s at some point in their lives.

McDonald's

If you cannot make it to a physical booth, the brand is taking the conversation to social media. Fans can post their stories using the hashtag #FirstJobConfessional. The best submissions are set to be featured on the official McDonald's YouTube channel.

Where the Booth Is Heading Next

The confessional is currently stationed at Gansevoort Plaza in New York City through March 7. From there, the tour hits three major U.S. cities throughout the spring and summer:

On Friday, Mar. 6, the alternative rock band announced their new album, All In Now, will be released on May 29. The group also dropped a single of the same name, out now.

"We couldn't f****** wait," Reeves said in a statement, according to Arizona rock radio station 98 KUPD. "Personally, I loved it all. For me, the attitude was like, 'let's work hard and let’s GO.'"

In addition to the new record, the band also announced a 25-stop North American tour—commencing on May 28 in Highland, CA, and concluding on Sep. 3 in Salt Lake City, Utah. The group will also perform an additional 25 dates across Europe in June and July.

Lucille Ball once revealed her favorite episode of I Love Lucy – and her answer was surprising, given the beating she took while filming it.

During a 1974 appearance on The Dick Cavett Show, Ball responded to the audience with one word when asked to name her favorite episode from the classic TV sitcom she starred in with her then-husband, Desi Arnaz, from 1951 to 1957.

“Grapes,” she said.

Ball was referring to the iconic 1956 episode “Lucy’s Italian Movie,” which aired 70 years ago on April 16, 1956. Ball teamed up with an Italian actress, Teresa Tirelli, for a famous grape-stomping scene during her character Lucy Ricardo’s trip to Italy. But things went awry when Tirelli reportedly went off-script and got overly physical with Ball in the grape-stomping vat.

“Our director didn’t speak Italian,” Ball told host Dick Cavett. “I didn’t speak Italian, no one spoke Italian. …[Tirelli] was told that there would be a fight, and it was also explained to her that there were times when my legs had to come up in this huge vat of real grapes."

“I slipped and when I slipped, I hit her, accidentally. And she took offense. So, she hauled off and let me have it … it took all the wind out of me,” Ball continued. “She had been told that we were to stay down for a while, give me a chance to get my legs way up so that they’d show in the camera. Then, up would come an arm…My head was supposed to pop [up]. Well, my head never popped up. She kept me down by the throat. And she was choking me, and I am really beating her to get her off. I was drowning in these grapes. She was killing me.”

Producers reportedly didn’t intervene because they knew the scene would be a hit with fans. But Ball lamented of Tirelli, “She spent so much time beating the hell out of me in the vat, we had to cut half of it.”

The lack of communication may not have been a language barrier

Ball’s story on Cavett’s show alluded to the fact that Tirelli didn’t speak English. But I Love Lucy producer Jess Oppenheimer’s son, Gregg, stated on Facebook in 2024, “Any stories you may have heard that the Italian woman in the vat spoke no English, or that Lucy nearly drowned, are simply untrue. The fight scene in the grape vat was carefully rehearsed all week. The Italian actress, Teresa Tirelli, was a card-carrying SAG member who spoke perfect English. She later appeared in the TV series Dr. Kildare and as a midwife in The Godfather Part II."

Oppenheimer directed fans to get the full behind-the-scenes in his father’s book, Laughs, Luck and Lucy.

But when one fan asked, “But isn't Lucy partly to blame for the story of the Italian actress not speaking English and nearly drowning Lucy?” Oppenheimer explained.

“You’re right,”  he wrote. “Lucille Ball was not only a great actress, but a great storyteller, and she loved to tell them. One of the traits she shared with Lucy Ricardo was a rich imagination, and sometimes she used it to embellish her stories, including this one.”

Tirelli, who was also a renowned classical singer, died in June 1989 at age 81, per a UPI obituary, just two months after Ball’s death that April at age 77.

Pillsbury Brings Back a Beloved Cinnamon Roll Flavor for Spring

Fri, 03/06/2026 - 12:34pm

A sweet Pillsbury find is officially heading to stores for the season.

This spring, the iconic at-home bakery brand is not only expanding its lineup of goodies with a vibrant Funfetti Swirl Cake Mix, but also bringing back a "delectable" cinnamon roll flavor.

While the company hasn't formally announced the arrival of the fruity flavor, a few eagle-eyed shoppers have already spotted the item—Pillsbury Grands! Strawberry and Cream Cinnamon Rolls—in stores and fans can hardly keep it together over the "amazing" find.

Pillsbury's Strawberry and Cream Cinnamon Rolls Are Here Just for the Season

The fun, light pink branded treat first debuted in the spring of 2018, and is now returning and still delighting fans nearly a decade later.

According to an official description published on the Pillsbury website, its limited-edition Grands! Cinnamon Rolls start with the brand's iconic ready-to-bake Cinnamon Rolls and refresh the recipe with a sweet, fruity strawberry-and-cream-flavored icing.

Related: New Pillsbury Freezer Find Has Fans ‘Super Excited’

Pillsbury recommends consumers prepare these the same way that they would the original Grand! Cinnamon Rolls (or the wintertime favorite Hot Cocoa Grands or any of its other rolls).

Simply, preheat the oven, arrange on a nonstick tray or greased pan, and bake until golden brown (about 23 to 27 minutes). Then comes the time to spread the spring-ready Strawberry and Cream icing across the Cinnamon Rolls, adding your ideal amount to each. To turn things up a notch and make your feast perfectly festive for an upcoming birthday, Easter, or even Mother's Day, just add some fresh fruit (we would recommend fresh berries), sprinkles, vanilla ice cream, or whatever else your heart desires.

"They might be onto something with the strawberries & cream icing cinnamon rolls 🤤 🍓," one wrote.

"I want to try the cinnamon rolls!" a third cheered, suggesting a peach flavor would also be interesting.

"Where can I buy these?? I need them in my life!" one more declared, adding that they've "been searching for weeks."

It's not only winning over prospective shoppers and social media users, but reviewers, too. Like one who said, "Strawberry cinnamon rolls is a hit with me. I kinda like having fruit on cinnamon rolls now."

Another called the treats "tasty," "delicious," and filling, noting they would certainly buy the flavor again.

"These are yummy," someone else shared. "That strawberry-flavored icing [is] the best."

So far, the Pillsbury Grand! Strawberry and Cream Cinnamon Rolls have been spotted on shelves at Walmart stores. That said, the seasonal find does not appear to be exclusive to the retailer, as Parade editors also reviewed online listings for the product at H-E-B, Kroger family stores, Stop & Shop, and more (prices may vary). Your best bet is to just check the refrigerated section of stores near you as you visit them this spring.

Travis Barker, J Balvin Reimagine Classic Van Halen Song for an All-New 'Anthem'

Fri, 03/06/2026 - 12:29pm

The Super Bowl Halftime Show once belonged to Pepsi. These days, the soda titan's rival churns out addicting songs for an entirely different professional sport.

Coca-Cola is one of FIFA’s longest-standing partners, having served as an official sponsor of the World Cup since 1978. And now. timed to the buildup to FIFA World Cup 26 in Los Angeles, an all-new "anthem" celebrates a full spectrum of emotions that define the tournament — from euphoric highs to heart-stopping lows — and the shared passion that connects fans around the world.

“JUMP” follows in the footsteps of Coca-Cola's past releases, including:

  • K’naan's “Wavin’ Flag” (2010)
  • David Correy's “The World Is Ours” (2014)
  • Jason Derulo's “Colors” (2018)
  • a reimagining of Queen's “A Kind of Magic” (2022)

"JUMP" is a reimagined version of Van Halen's iconic 1980s hit, performed by global superstar J Balvin and acclaimed singer-songwriter Amber Mark, alongside guitarist Steve Vai and legendary blink-182 drummer Travis Barker.

Alongside the track release is its official music video, which made its broadcast premiere on MTV Live, MTVU and the Paramount Times Square billboards. Adding to the music's genre-bending star power, the video includes an animated special appearance from soccer sensation Lamine Yamal.

"When emotions strike, Coca-Cola unites J Balvin, Amber Mark, Steve Vai, and Travis Barker on a worldwide mission," the caption of Coca-Cola's YouTube upload on Friday, March 6 reads. "They'll bring together fans around the world through soccer and music, culminating in an epic space stadium celebration of joy and celebration."

“Music for me has always been about bringing people from different countries and cultures together—and ‘JUMP’ is all about that shared energy,” said J Balvin, 40, in a statement, per Coca-Cola's Friday press release. “From the football stands to watching at home, everyone knows that moment when emotions are high and you’re jumping for greatness. Partnering with Coca-Cola on their anthem for FIFA World Cup 2026TM felt natural—it’s about hype, energy, and creating something that feels real. This song is about celebrating life and living in the moment.”

Savannah Guthrie Mom New Update: FBI Now Probing Mysterious Event on Night Nancy Disappeared

Fri, 03/06/2026 - 12:22pm

The FBI is reportedly looking into a possible mysterious event that occurred the night Nancy Guthrie, mother of Today anchor Savannah Guthrie, disappeared. One neighbor said that his Ring camera footage for that evening was inexplicably "not available," raising questions about what may have happened and why investigators are now probing the incident.

According to NewsNation's Brian Entin, there may have been some kind of "internet outage" on Saturday, Jan. 31 into Sunday, Feb. 1—the night that Nancy, 84, went missing.

The public has speculated on what might have caused an outage, and many wonder if the suspect or suspects had a signal jammer that could have caused these reported issues.

"The use of signal jammers changes the context of this crime. Was the suspect on camera purposefully trying to look like an amateur because it's the last thing he is?" one person wondered.

"WiFi / signal jammers. This leads me to believe the timeline we got is off. Perp could’ve been in there much longer than 41 minutes," someone else suggested.

"This is terrifying. If there was a localized outage, the FBI needs to be looking for Signal Jammers. It’s a common tactic in high-end burglaries, but seeing it in a missing person case takes it to a much darker level. Neighbors need to check their physical DVRs or any cameras that record locally to an SD card … those don’t need the internet," a third comment read.

This isn't the first time that the idea of a signal jammer has been brought up, either. Some people noticed something in the front pocket of the person standing on Nancy's front stoop the night she disappeared. The majority of people seem to think that the item, which appeared to have an antenna, was a walkie talkie, though others wondered if it may have been a signal jammer.

Nancy has been missing since Sunday, Feb. 1.

Daryl Hannah Blasts 'Love Story,' Claims Show Completely Misrepresents Her In New Essay

Fri, 03/06/2026 - 12:07pm

FX's ongoing series Love Story, which centers on the relationship between Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy and John F. Kennedy Jr., has caused a controversy with Kennedy Jr.'s ex, Daryl Hannah, according to a new essay the actress penned in The New York Times.

Hannah, who has been depicted in several episodes of the show thus far, took to the publication to address what she views as a major misrepresentation of both herself and her relationship with Kennedy Jr.

In her essay, Hannah wrote, "...a recent tragedy-exploiting television series about John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette features a character using my name and presents her as me. The choice to portray her as irritating, self-absorbed, whiny and inappropriate was no accident."

She went on, "The character 'Daryl Hannah' portrayed in the series is not even a remotely accurate representation of my life, my conduct or my relationship with John. The actions and behaviors attributed to me are untrue."

Hannah called out specific events in the show, saying, "I have never used cocaine in my life or hosted cocaine-fueled parties. I have never pressured anyone into marriage. I have never desecrated any family heirloom or intruded upon anyone’s private memorial. I have never planted any story in the press. I never compared Jacqueline Onassis’ death to a dog’s. It’s appalling to me that I even have to defend myself against a television show. These are not creative embellishments of personality. They are assertions about conduct — and they are false."

Hannah and Kennedy Jr. were romantically linked from 1988 to 1994, in what has been described as an on-again, off-again relationship. Kennedy Jr. and Bessette-Kennedy began dating in 1994, although they were not public until 1995. The couple married in 1996, but just a few years later, both died in a plane crash that also took the life of Bessette-Kennedy's sister, Lauren Bessette.

PopUp Bagels Debuts New Guinness Chocolate Cake Cream Cheese

Fri, 03/06/2026 - 12:06pm

You don't have to be a beer drinker to love PopUp Bagels' latest and greatest cream cheese innovation, the absolutely delicious-sounding Guinness Chocolate Stout Cake Schmear.

Made in an exclusive new partnership with Guinness, PopUp Bagels' newest cream cheese seamlessly blends the bittersweet taste of Guinness' dark beer with the rich, smooth flavor of chocolate cake-inspired cream cheese.

The resulting combination gives way to a unique, endlessly flavorable cream cheese schmear that's perfect on virtually every kind of bagel, be it a toasted plain or a fresh-baked sesame bagel.

"St. Patrick's Day is about ritual, pride and community," said Karissa Downer, Director of Guinness in the United States, in an official press release announcing the new collaboration. This March, we're giving people even more reasons to come together, celebrate and raise a pint."

As incredible as this new cream cheese spread likely sounds, it's worth nothing that the schmear will only be available for a limited time this spring.
