Over the course of three episodes, a group of six would compete for one of three spots in the endgame. After three groups, the nine queens who moved on would hit the "merge" (to use a piece of Survivor parlance), where they would compete together — and against each other — to hopefully take home the win.

It's a change so nice, they evidently used it twice! Season 11 of All Stars, arriving with its first two episodes on Paramount+ on Friday, May 8, will once again divide the cast into three groups of six, as they compete for a spot at the "merge." However, according to a press release from Paramount, this time, "At the end of each bracket, the top two queens with the highest point totals will advance to the semi-finals and go head-to-head with the top queens from the other groups in another round of fierce competition. The tournament will culminate in an epic Lip Sync Smackdown for the Crown grand finale episode, where the finalists will battle it out for a grand prize of $200,000 and a place in the coveted Drag Race Hall of Fame."
The interesting wrinkle: These queens now have seen what the format has to offer from last season, including how pregame relationships and newfound alliances play a role. Could this mean we get the most strategically sickening season of All Stars yet?

Another piece of décor that he recommended was a mirror. He said a "beautiful gilded mirror or an iron mirror is something that you'll always find a place for no matter where you move."
When it comes to the living room, he also suggested purchasing "a well-made sofa. It doesn't have to be expensive, but it does need to be well made and in a solid fabric."
At the end of the day, what matters most is that you’re selecting pieces that fit your individual style instead of trying to lean into popular trends. "I would say that if that's something that feels like it's the right look for you, and you're not doing it just because a lot of people are doing it, then I would definitely buy and collect things that you know you're going to love 10 years from now,” the designer said.

They are full of slow-braised, tenderized meat paired with a delicious dipping sauce that delivers a lot of flavor in just one bite. People rave about the goat birria, a signature dish at La Barca that has been perfected at this small Chicago restaurant. People often get it quesobirria-style with gooey, melty cheese to make it an even more savory delight. Others rave about the dessert flan, which many commenters note "tastes like home."
Sadly, the Archer Heights location is temporarily closed due to a fire, but their Broadway location in Uptown is still thriving.

Don Cheadle Has a Private Nickname for the Obamas, and They Made Him Swear Not to Tell
Don Cheadle has logged more than 50 film credits, earned a Golden Globe, and spent years suiting up as War Machine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. What he had never done, until this month, was walk out onto a Broadway stage.
That changed April 16, when Proof, David Auburn's Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning play, opened at the Booth Theatre with Cheadle making his Broadway debut opposite Ayo Edebiri, who is also appearing on Broadway for the first time. The production is directed by Thomas Kail (Hamilton) and co-produced by Barack and Michelle Obama through their company Higher Ground, marking the Obamas' own debut as Broadway producers.
Appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert this week, Cheadle was loose and funny about what it's actually like to have two former presidents of the United States sitting in the audience watching you work.
He said he tries not to know when they're coming. 'I don't want to change anything,' he told Colbert. 'It's a very egalitarian space.' The Obamas apparently did not get the memo, they told him in advance. He handled it, but acknowledged there's an inherent weirdness to the situation.
There's also, it turns out, an inherent weirdness to whatever he calls them in private. Colbert asked directly. Cheadle confirmed he does have a name, or names, for them, but said he's not allowed to say what they are. 'That's part of the deal,' he said. The crowd loved it. Cheadle also admitted, with some pleasure, that he overacted during the first week when his family packed the house. 'I went big,' he said. He caught himself doing it and noted the impulse to stop, turn to his relatives in the crowd, and essentially say 'see? This is working out.'

'Devil Wears Prada 2' Director Reveals Why Adrian Grenier Doesn't Appear in the Sequel
TheDevil Wears Prada introduced fans to Anne Hathaway's on-screen boyfriend, Nate, played by Adrian Grenier, who has since become a red flag among fans. With the sequel installment ready to hit theaters, director David Frankel reveals why the character ended up not making it into the film.
Grenier's return as Nate has been addressed since The Devil Wears Prada 2 was announced, with Entertainment Weekly having reported the actor would not return to his original role. Since then, the actor had commented that he was "disappointed" about being left out, and admits his character has since become controversial.
Is there more to the story? Frankel revealed in an exclusive interview with Entertainment Weekly that they had thought to bring back Grenier in a cameo role, but it simply didn't work. He added that the movie's filming schedule added some difficulties as it was still in production a month before its release date.
"I had an idea about sneaking him into a cameo, and, in the end, it was just too late in our production schedule to make it happen," he explained.
When asked what the cameo would have been about, Frankel added, "No, I probably shouldn’t say. But, I think I’m thrilled that he did a Starbucks commercial, which was really funny and so self-effacing."

The Starbucks commercial being referenced was released in early April, with Grenier making fun of his original character and addressing his absence from the sequel. So, let's leave Nate in 2006 and keep this good energy going!"

If you haven't heard the news, one state was just named the best place for those young people looking to achieve the American dream. And while there's a lot to be said for paving your own way in many of the states across the country—a city in another state just earned a similar title, but more on that later—what makes this declaration unusual is the fact that this location was also recently named the worst place to retire.
So, how can both things be true at the same time? Keep reading to learn more, including what one resident has to say about the colliding factors that can make this place wonderful for young upstarts while also putting a damper on the retirement dreams of those living on a fixed income.
New Jersey Has Been Named the 'Best Place to Achieve the American Dream'A study from DuelBits has named New Jersey as one of the best states in the country for those in pursuit of the American dream, which is being defined as ”the possibility of upward mobility, freedom, and equality for people of all classes who work hard and have the will to succeed,” according to Britannica.
Travel + Leisure says several factors were considered, including:
- Percentage of homeowners
- Percentage of college degrees
- Average salaries
- Number of foreign-born residents
- Vehicle ownership information
- Debt
- Life expectancy
After looking at those things, the Garden State scored an 8.72 out of 10, the highest ranking among all states. Some of the places where New Jersey ranked highest included car ownership and college degrees. The state also got good marks in salaries (the average is $76,321), life expectancy (residents live to an average of 79 years old), and diversity (25 percent of residents come from other countries).
However, it's not all sunshine and rainbows for those who live here, according to one New Jersey resident who was surprised to hear the state ranked so high for those looking to follow the American dream.
"As much as I love my current home state, I think it's a little egregious to say it is the best place to 'achieve the American Dream,'" says editor and New Jersey resident Lauren Gordon. "If the 'American Dream' is upward mobility, the taxes alone here are enough to keep you shackled to the ground."
New Jersey Named Worst State for RetireesA Seniorly report ranked New Jersey at the top of another list in 2025: the worst states for retirees. The Garden State won first place here as well, and it sounds like it's for a familiar reason: affordability.
As Gordon mentioned, those property taxes really do add up, and they are among the highest in the country. That's how New Jersey ended up earning the title of "one of the least affordable states in the country."
Also, the state doesn't offer much to retirees looking to stay active, with limited access to recreation and the arts. Meanwhile, more than 65 percent of seniors living in the state report having more than three chronic conditions, highlighting a potential health concern among residents.

Kansas City is Also Said to be Good for Pursuing the American DreamOkay, so I'll be the first to admit that I'm getting major mixed vibes from these two different declarations. That's why I'd like to turn your attention to Topeka, Kansas, which was named one of the few cities where the American dream is still possible.
Unlike New Jersey, it has a lower tax rate, which seems like it would be good for residents at any stage of life. Additionally, the city is offering new residents $15,000 to relocate to Topeka...talk about upward mobility!
If nothing else, the fact that New Jersey can end up on both of these lists highlights just how diverse the American dream can be and how a person's needs and desires can change as they age.

That's because the SSA announced it was closing offices in 10 states for various reasons. And while some were pretty clear (like construction), there is less info on why some other buildings aren't going to be open to the public for the immediate future. The Social Security Administration Announces Multiple ClosingsAs of April 22, several SSA offices are closed across the country, including those located in these 10 states:
- Arizona
- California
- Florida
- Hawaii
- Iowa
- Maryland
- Michigan
- Montana
- Pennsylvania
- West Virginia
The reasons for the disruptions are not listed on the SSA's website, but USA Today reports that some closures are related to ongoing construction. In other instances, it appears the offices may be temporarily closed because they don't have the capacity to accommodate people waiting in long lines that could stretch outside the office.

All you need to do is click on the letter of the state you're searching for at the top of the webpage, and it will take you down to the alphabetized list where your state will appear.

For example, in Montana, both the Glasgow and Havre locations are closed or going to be closed in the future. However, the Glasgow location will only be taking telephone appointments from April 28 through April 30, while the Havre location is not open for in-person service until further notice.

What do a smiley sponge, a lobster truck, cozy socks and a potty stool all have in common? They’re all big Shark Tanksuccess stories!
After 17 years on TV, the iconic ABC reality show is still helping hopeful entrepreneurs to succeed beyond their wildest dreams. Since Shark Tank debuted in 2009, aspiring founders have pitched their products to a panel of business moguls—including Kevin “Mr. Wonderful” O’Leary, Barbara Corcoran, Lori Greiner, Robert Herjavec, Daymond John and Mark Cuban (who left the show in 2025). This season, viewers have also seen guest sharks Chip andJoanna Gaines, Kendra Scott, Alexis Ohanian, Good Morning America’s Michael Strahan, Allison Ellsworth, Fawn Weaver and Rashaun Williams offer contestants investments.
But getting Shark Tank support is no guarantee, as there have been both winners and losers after the cameras stopped rolling. As Parade recently reported, some Shark Tank winners ended up as failures. Now, with the Season 17 finale episode airing on Wednesday, April 22, it’s time to celebrate the show's billion-dollar brands. GrooveBook—Season 5, Episode 13After losing thousands of family photos on a smartphone, married couple Brian and Julie Whiteman wanted others to avoid the same fate. So in 2014, they pitched GrooveBook—a $2.99 monthly service that allowed customers to create a printed book of up to 100 photos right from their phone.
The sharks were impressed and Cuban and O'Leary invested $150,000 for 80 percent of the licensing rights. Shutterfly acquired GrooveBook in 2015 for a cool $14.5 million, making the Whitemans win big. "I always knew something huge was going to happen with this company," O'Learly said in an ABC interview.
While it’s still considered one of Shark Tank’s most stellar pitches, Shutterfly decided to shutter the doors on this unique subscription service in 2022 and provided no statement as to why.
11. Stasher Bags—Season 9, Episode 16Things went swimmingly for Kat Nouri in 2018 as she sold the sharks on Stasher, her line of reusable, eco-friendly silicone storage bags with an airtight seal. Each one lasts about three years and can go from freezer to microwave to dishwasher and even stand up to boiling water.
Nouri drove a hard bargain with Cuban, then gave him a hug after he invested $400,000 for a 15 percent stake. According to Failory, Stasher brings in $12 million in annual revenue. They are available via major retailers like Target and Amazon. In December 2019, Stasher announced that it was being acquired by SC Johnson. Nouri is no longer the CEO, but as of 2024 was still Stasher’s brand ambassador.

10. ReadeREST—Season 3, Episode 2In 2012, inventor Rick Hopper pitched his idea that would allow customers to never lose or drop their eyeglasses again! His ReadeREST holder uses high-powered magnets to secure a simple eyeglass clip to an article of clothing, typically on the front of a shirt.

Then, the entrepreneur noted how awful it looked when people wore their glasses on "granny chains and ropes" that hang around their necks. Thankfully, his invention would solve that problem.
The sharks were both charmed and convinced—Greiner invested $150,000 for 65 percent equity in ReadeREST.
The company has reportedly gone on to a whopping $27 million in sales.
9. The Sleep Styler—Season 8, Episode 19In 2017, Tara Brown pitched The Sleep Styler—a heat-free, foam hair roller that’s worn while sleeping so users wake up with their hair already styled. Greiner was impressed, investing $75,000 for a 25 percent stake in the business. "Within the first 24 hours after Shark Tank (airing), I did $1.5 million in sales," Brown recalled in an interview.
The success continued and by 2019, The Sleep Styler surpassed $100 million in sales. Strangely enough, the company's official website has since been shut down, though the product is still available through third-party retailers via Amazon.

The Bouqs Company—Season 5, Episode 27In 2014, online flower retailer John Tabis told the sharks that he teamed up with eco-friendly flower farms and cut out the middlemen between flower growers and buyers, which made prices 80 percent lower for customers. The show’s moguls took a pass, but three years later—after Tabis provided flowers for Herjavec’s wedding to Dancing with the Stars pro dancer Kym Johnson—the shark had a change of heart. Herjavec invested an undisclosed amount in The Bouqs Company. Since then, the company has reportedly earned more than $100 million.

7. Tipsy Elves—Season 5, Episode 12Christmas was in the air when Evan Mendelsohn and Nicklaus Morton brought Tipsy Elves, a brand that sold purposely designed ugly Christmas sweaters, to the ABC reality show in 2013. Morton told the sharks their sweaters would replace old, smelly thrift store finds with "fun, witty, high-quality sweaters that the whole family can enjoy." After watching the guys’ ugly sweater fashion show, Herjavec invested $100,000 for a 10 percent stake.
Ugly Christmas sweater company Tipsy Elves appears on Shark Tank.Tipsy Elves made merry all the way to the bank, reportedly achieving $125 million in sales. The brand is still going strong in 2026.
6. Simply Fit Board—Season 7, Episode 8In 2015, mother/daughter entrepreneurs Linda Clark and Gloria Hoffman delivered a fun pitch and demo of their exercise board designed to help users build their core by balancing upright on it and twisting back and forth. O’Leary and Cuban both took it for a spin on camera! But it was “Queen of QVC” Greiner who took over financing, making the deal with $125,000 for a 20 percent stake.
As of 2024, the Simply Fit Board has reportedly soared to over $174 million in sales.

Who wouldn’t want to get comfy? The wearable hoodie-blanket with the irresistible name got a warm pitch in 2017 from brothers Brian and Michael Speciale. "It’s the blanket that’s a sweatshirt" they sang when marketing it for the Christmas season on Shark Tank. The Speciales raised $50,000 for 30 percent from Corcoran.
Since then, The Comfy has made $250 million in sales. But in 2022, Forbes reported that "the brand went from holiday darling and trendy product to near disaster" with a "slew of poor, possibly risky, financial decisions coupled with supply chain issues and tension among company leaders."
After the rough patch, however, it’s still in business and Corcoran has said her Comfy decision is one of the best she's ever made on the show.
4. The Squatty Potty—Season 6, Episode 9Bobby Edwards and his mom Judy wanted the sharks to help get things moving with their potty stool in 2014! "We’re in the business to help you do your business," Judy said to the panel’s laughter. She pointed out that we can only poop properly if we're in a squat position. The stool sits on the floor in front of the toilet. Users place their feet on the stool, which elevates their knees above the hips to do a number two in a healthy squatting position. Greiner backed the mother/son duo, investing $350,000 for a 10 percent stake.
Squatty Potty also scored big with the public, with lifetime sales exceeding $260 million. In 2021, the company was acquired by Aterian, a publicly-traded consumer products company, for a cool $31.1 million.
3. Cousins Maine Lobster Truck—Season 4, Episode 6In 2012, cousins Sabin Lomac and Jim Tselikis thrilled Shark Tank fans with their food truck concept that would offer lobster shipped from their home state of Maine. They nabbed a deal with Corcoran where she'd receive a 15 percent stake in their company in exchange for a $55,000 investment. After their Shark Tank appearance, the business exploded and Cousins Maine Lobster hit $700,000 in sales.
But they were just getting started. The company has since grown from a single food truck in Los Angeles to over 85 locations across 30+ states—including food trucks and brick-and-mortar eateries. As of June 2025, Cousins Maine Lobster surpassed $1 billion in lifetime systemwide sales, making it one of the biggest success stories in Shark Tank history.
3. Scrub Daddy—Season 4, Episode 7The smiley face reusable sponge became a sensation after being featured on Shark Tank in 2012. Scrub Daddy’s founder Aaron Krause said with cameras rolling that his product was “the cutest but most high-tech scrubbing tool in the world.” He demonstrated that his sponge was ingenious, getting firm in cold water and soft in hot.
Krause earned himself a Shark Tank bidding war, with Greiner ultimately investing $200,000 for 20 percent equity.
Scrub Daddy makes a deal!Scrub Daddy has since become a cleaning empire, with products appearing in more than 250,000 retail locations worldwide. Lifetime sales have surpassed $1.3 billion, with annual revenue reaching approximately $340 million in 2024 alone.
2. Poppi—Season 10, Episode 8In 2018, Allison Ellsworth and her husband appeared on Shark Tank to pitch Mother Beverage. At the time, Ellsworth was nine months pregnant and gave birth to a son just ten days after filming!
When Stephen and Allison Ellsworth first appeared on Shark Tank, their sparkling prebiotic beverage was called ‘Mother.’Guest Shark Rohan Oza made the TV deal with the Ellsworths, offering $400,000 for a 25 percent stake in the business. The couple tweaked their product by adding a little sugar, changing from glass bottles to cans—and most notably—switching the name from Mother Beverage to the lively and fun Poppi.

In 2014, viewers saw founders David Heath and Randy Goldberg seeking funding for their comfortable socks that featured a blister tab and extra cushioning. And the company had heart: For every pair of socks purchased, another would get donated to an organization that helps homeless people.
These founders scored big with their socks!John invested $200,000 for 17.5 percent equity. Incredibly, Bombas has grown into the biggest Shark Tank hit of all time, with over $2 billion in lifetime sales and approximately $325 million in annual revenue.
In addition to socks, Bombas now offers tee shirts, slippers, and underwear. The company has also stayed true to its charity mission, having donated more than 50 million clothing items.
