Five Below is selling travel-inspired book boxes that conceal clutter without anyone noticing, and there's an eight-piece fluted storage set that looks way more elegant than utilitarian.

A veteran homicide prosecutor is raising concerns about the lack of continued searches in the Nancy Guthrie case.

During an interview with NewsNation's Brian Entin, "no body" homicide expert Tad DiBiase said searches serve a critical purpose beyond locating remains. According to DiBiase, investigators can use search efforts to eliminate alternative explanations for a person's disappearance and strengthen a potential case if charges are eventually filed.

"Even given the suspected circumstances of this case...the most common disposal area for a 'no body' murder is in water. Second most is what I call, sort of buried in the woods or left behind in the woods," Dibiase continued, clarifying that he's referring to the outdoors in general.

Guthrie has been missing since Sunday, Feb. 1. Investigators believe that Guthrie was abducted in the middle of the night.

Entin noted that the Pima County Sheriff's Office called off cadaver dog searches about five weeks after Guthrie's disappearance and asked DiBiase whether that could create challenges in a future prosecution.

"To me, there's two reasons why it's problematic not to do a search," DiBiase said. "One is, because you overlook the opportunity to find the body, which is critical. But two, when you go to trial, you want to be able to say to the jury, here's all the searches we did and we confirm that there's no way that she walked away on her own, there's no way that she escaped, there's no way that she committed suicide.' Any of those things. Because you don't know that unless you've done a very thorough search and you're able to say to the jury, 'we can knock out these other possibilities of things happening and all that's left is this guy appeared on the camera the night she went missing at the time she seemed to have gone missing and that's the only logical thing.'"

While investigators have not publicly indicated plans for additional large-scale searches, DiBiase believes continued efforts could serve an important purpose—both in the search for answers and in any future prosecution.

To answer these questions for the ice cream curious, I tried all the Aldi ice cream flavors I could find and ranked them from worst to best. Spoiler alert: you should definitely give Aldi’s ice cream a try.

What Is Aldi's Brand of Ice Cream?

If you didn’t already know, over 90 percent of the brands Aldi stocks are actually its own private label. That means if you’ve ever grabbed something and been super impressed by the quality, Aldi probably made it. Sure, you might find Ben & Jerry’s or Blue Bell ice cream occasionally, but for the most part, you can expect to see Sundae Shoppe or Specially Selected ice creams in the low-priced retailers' frozen treat section. You might also still see Belmont lingering around, which is a classic Aldi brand that’s being rebranded as part of Aldi’s major packaging refresh that was announced last September.

How Does Aldi's Ice Cream Compare to Halo Top?

Although I didn’t find it on my trip to Aldi, the budget-friendly retailer often stocks a high-protein, low-fat ice cream variety that could be considered an alternative to Halo Top. Usually, it comes in vanilla bean, chocolate and mint chip flavors, packing in a whopping 20 grams of protein per pint. Comparatively, the flavors I tried for the most part were full-fat ice creams with considerably less protein per scoop.

That being said, depending on the stock at your local store, you might luck up and find Protein Pints Chocolate and Cookie Dough flavors chilling in the freezer section. Each pint clocks in at a whopping 30 grams of protein. 

How I Tested These Ice Creams

Like most people, I take my ice cream very seriously, so I went into this taste test with some pretty strong opinions about what actually makes an ice cream good. For me, consistency is probably the most important marker of a great ice cream because it sets the stage for everything else. After that is flavor, which determines whether or not I’d reach for it again anyway. To get the truest read of both, I opted to include a variety of treats in Aldi’s frozen section, from gelato and sorbet to ice cream bars and sandwiches. 

After gathering all of the candidates, I enlisted the help of my incredibly decisive partner to taste through them with me and rank each one based on how truly enjoyable we thought they were. Surprisingly, although there were some that didn’t meet the mark, trying to pick a clear favorite was actually more difficult than I thought because Aldi’s got some pretty heavy hitters. Here is my honest review of each one we tried.

14 Aldi Ice Creams Ranked from Worst To Best

Aldi has some truly great ice cream offerings. See which ones I loved—and which ones I'd skip—below.

14. Sundae Shoppe Pineapple Sorbet

Honestly, I had pretty high hopes for this one because I typically love pineapple anything, but I’d probably skip this one next time. Flavor-wise, it was OK, but as my partner pointed out, it tasted more like mango than pineapple. It was also much icier than I expected, which made it less enjoyable than some of the other sorbets we tried. Out of 10, I’d give this one a score of 3.5.

13. Sundae Shoppe Original Moose Tracks Ice Cream

As much as I’ve loved Moose Tracks in the past, I was also really excited about this one, but it ended up being kind of a letdown. The ice cream had a slightly grainy quality to it that was hard to get over, and it didn’t really wow me flavor-wise. I’d say this one was pretty unremarkable.

12. Sundae Shoppe Lemon Blueberry Sorbet

You know how sometimes lemon-flavored things can kind of taste like cleaning products? Yeah, we’re inching into lemon Pledge territory here. It wasn’t necessarily bad, but the lemon flavor was intense and artificial tasting, which kind of dwarfed any trace of blueberry flavor. It was definitely a great palette cleanser in between some of the richer flavors we tried, but this one isn’t something I’d reach for again.

My partner was super hyped about these because they were so close to the chocolate eclair dessert bars he used to get as a kid. Unfortunately, despite "crunch" being in the name, these were severely lacking in the texture department. They really weren’t crunchy at all (which could have been a one-off), but the actual chocolate bar didn’t impress me either. Although it wasn’t a hit for me, my partner seemed to at least moderately enjoy them, so that’s a win.

10. Sundae Shoppe Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream

I generally love cookie dough ice cream (mostly for the cookie chunks), but this one was just OK to me. My partner doesn’t really like ice cream with mix-ins anyway, so I figured this one wouldn’t rank high for him, but it really wasn’t impressive. While the cookie dough pieces were great, the ice cream itself seemed like kind of an afterthought flavor-wise. It wasn’t bad, and I’d maybe grab it if that’s all they had, but honestly, it wasn’t my favorite.

9. Sundae Shoppe Caramel Cookie Crunch Gelato

To be honest, I was pretty psyched to try this one solely off of how it looked, and although it didn’t end up being the best flavor we tried, I’d at least grab it again. It was super light and creamy, and the caramel and chocolate cookies added a nice depth of flavor to the otherwise simple vanilla base. That being said, the cookies weren’t crunchy at all and the caramel kind of got lost. This one was a solid 6.5.

8. Specially Selected Super Premium Vanilla Ice Cream

Vanilla ice cream is one of those flavors that’s so simple, it either turns out transcendent or ends up tasting like artificially flavored milk froth. Its simplicity is what makes it difficult to master flavor-wise, but I had high hopes for this one from Aldi. I will admit that the promise of super premium vanilla ice cream was intriguing, but in the end, this one was pretty, well, vanilla. 

For whatever reason, I was expecting it to have flecks of vanilla bean running throughout, but it was more like a French vanilla instead. It was also denser than the other ice creams we tried, which made it almost impossible to scoop without leaving it out for more than 10 minutes. If I’m being honest, there are better vanilla ice creams out there. That being said, my partner and I did have it again as a topper for a cherry plum clafoutis I made, and it actually tasted much better that way.

7. Sundae Shoppe Birthday Cake Gelato

Birthday cake is one of those flavors you either love or hate, and if you’re always first in line to get a slice, then you’ll absolutely devour this gelato. It quite literally tasted like birthday cake, frosting and all, in the most nostalgic way possible, which was pleasantly surprising to be honest. It was also super creamy, which made it even more enjoyable to eat. My partner really enjoyed this one, but personally, I found it to be a bit overwhelming. To me, it tasted like when you get a supermarket birthday cake and you can only tolerate eating one slice.

6. Sundae Shoppe Mocha Cookie Crumble Gelato

Whether or not I have a slight caffeine addiction is besides the point, but I knew this one would be a tough contender based on the name alone, and I’m happy to say it delivered. Both my partner and I really enjoyed the depth of flavor this one had, and the consistency was perfect. You could really taste the coffee as well as the chocolate, and the cookies mixed in added a surprising bite that made this one even more interesting. It would be perfect as an affogato or blended into a milkshake.

5. Sundae Shoppe Strawberry Ice Cream

To be honest, I’ve never really been a strawberry ice cream person, but I can understand the appeal. For me, it’s never been amazing in a way that makes me want more of it, and this one kind of fits in the same lane to me. It wasn’t bad by any stretch of the imagination, but it didn’t wow me. It tasted like strawberry shortcake, which I liked, but overall it wasn’t mindblowing. Maybe if it had cake pieces mixed into it or was dressed up with balsamic glaze, it would’ve been a bit more interesting.

4. Sundae Shoppe Cookies and Cream Ice Cream

My love of cookies and cream runs deep, so it was no surprise when this one ended up ranking higher on the list. It’s quite literally the most textbook example of cookies and cream ice cream I’ve ever had. The ratio of cookies to ice cream is near perfect, and the consistency made it almost impossible to stop eating. Even the flavor of the ice cream was spot on. It tasted like the best of an Oreo cookie, and yes, I had a double scoop.

3. Sundae Shoppe Strawberry Lemonade Sorbet

Trying to round out the top three was more difficult than I thought it would be, which is a testament to just how good Aldi’s frozen dessert section actually is. And while I was pretty unimpressed with some of the other sorbets we tried, this Strawberry Lemonade flavor has earned a permanent spot in my freezer. 

Unlike the Pineapple Sorbet, this one was smooth and creamy, which made it almost melt in your mouth. It also tasted exactly like biting into a fresh strawberry, perfectly juxtaposed with the tart ribbon of lemon curd running through it. Even my partner, who isn’t big on sorbet, loved this one, and that’s saying a lot.

2. Sundae Shoppe Sea Salt Caramel Light Ice Cream

Despite this being the very first ice cream we tried, it stood out as a favorite among everything we tasted. Admittedly, I was a little skeptical it would be enjoyable because it’s a light ice cream, but I’m happy to say I was completely wrong. Without looking at the label, you’d probably never guess that this would be considered a lighter ice cream based on the rich velvety consistency and mouthfeel. It eats like a full-fat ice cream, and the salted caramel flavor is perfect. The only thing that would make this one better would be an extra flourish of flaky salt on top, but otherwise, no notes. Still, my No. 1 pick edged this one out ever so slightly.

1. Sundae Shoppe Stroopwafel Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwiches

Coming in at No. 1 is the Sundae Shoppe Stroopwafel Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwich. Honestly, it’s hard to put this one into words. Truly, it knocked my socks off. Even my partner, who doesn’t usually love ice cream sandwiches, really liked this one. It has smooth vanilla ice cream sandwiched between two perfectly soft caramel stroopwafels—in a word, it was perfection. Not only is it insanely delicious, but it’s the perfect size. While I loved it in the ice cream sandwich format, both my partner and I felt like it would also be great turned into a full pint of ice cream. We’ll be keeping the freezer stocked with this one for sure. 

Final Takeaways 

Although it isn’t a surprise at all, Aldi’s ice cream section is definitely worth taking a look through on your next trip. From sorbet to ice cream sandwiches, Aldi's got something for whatever you’re craving, and it doesn’t hurt that the prices are pretty great too. With ice cream season heating up, now’s the perfect time to treat yourself. Just make sure to save a scoop or two for us!

Located about 36 miles south of Tallahassee, Mashes Sands Beach tends to attract travelers looking to trade screen time for shoreline.

According to Beach.com’s study, 27 percent of reviews for Mashes Sands Beach mention digital detox-related keywords, the second-highest percentage in the analysis. Travelers frequently referenced the beach’s peaceful atmosphere, lack of crowds and sense of relaxation, all ideal components of an unplugged vacation.

And disconnecting may happen naturally here. The study noted that broadband access reaches only about 80 percent of the county, making the area one of the best places in the U.S. to step away from social media, emails and constant notifications.

Mashes Sands Beach earned a 9.4 out of 10 score in Beach.com’s U.S. Digital Detox Beach Index, which ranked hundreds of beaches across the country using factors such as traveler reviews, mobile signal coverage, broadband availability, commercial development and proximity to protected lands.

Secret Beach in Curry County, Oregon, ranked No. 1 overall, while Third Beach in Jefferson County, Washington, ranked No. 3.

Another Florida destination took the No. 4 spot: Horseshoe Beach, a remote fishing village also located in the Big Bend. About two hours from Tallahassee and Gainesville, the town is known for its world-class Gulf fishing, spectacular sunsets and a laid-back culture where golf carts and UTVs are the primary mode of transportation.

Tucked away in Panacea where Ochlockonee Bay meets the Gulf of Mexico, Mashes Sands Beach is best reached by car due to its remote location.

The beach is ideal for kayaking, fishing, birdwatching and nature photography, thanks to its calm waters and minimal undertow. It also boasts dramatic tides: at low tide, the Gulf recedes to expose sandbars and mudflats.

In Panacea, many vacation rentals put you within walking distance of the water; the Panacea Motel and hotels in nearby Crawfordville are also solid options. For a resort-style stay, St. James Bay Golf & Pickleball Resort (about 14 miles west) offers cottages, a golf course and pool.

True to the area's low-key energy, the local dining scene is all about unpretentious, fresh-off-the-boat seafood and classic Old Florida hospitality. Angelo & Son’s Seafood Restaurant is a waterfront staple serving up classic fried, blackened or broiled Gulf catches like shrimp, oysters and scallops.

Far away from endless feeds and screens, a long afternoon spent watching the low tides on these quiet sandbars is a chance to recreate that effortless, 1990s-style travel vibe—where the only soundtrack you need is the whistle of the sandpipers and hum of the Gulf breeze.

In the 1970s, Kansas was best known for the hits “Carry on Wayward Son,” “Dust  in the Wind,” and “Point of Know Return.”

But the progressive rock band changed direction in 1980 with the release of the album Audio-Visions—and the single “Hold On.” Written by founding guitarist Kerry Livgren, “Hold On” peaked at No. 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 in November 1980.

Featuring a violin solo and lyrics about hope and perseverance, the song was written as a message to Livgren’s wife, Vicci, after he had a spiritual awakening while on tour with Kansas.

Livgren explained the song during a  2023 appearance on the Area 312 Rock & Metal Vodcast.

“Well, I did that write specifically for my wife,” the rocker, now 76, shared. “You know, I came home from the road as a Christian. I thought, man, why am I gonna do? I gotta tell her, I gotta tell her who my faith is in now. But how do I do that?  … So  I kind of lay low and very gradually let her know. Then one day I flat-out told her, ‘I gotta go to church this Sunday, want to come with me?’ I didn’t know what church I was gonna go to.”

“I wrote that song for her,” he continued of “Hold On.” “It’s kind of subtle, but you can tell what it’s saying, and she knew what it was saying… She said, ‘It’s awfully  nice to be written about, I’m not sure that’s the song I would have written for myself.’ That’s what it  was.”

Livgren also referenced the song in his book Seeds of Change, where he revealed that he wrote “Hold On” for his wife before she accepted Christ into her life. “In a more general sense, ‘Hold On’ is addressed to any person who is on the brink of coming to Christ,” he explained. “Sometimes there's a feeling of desperation when you get that close, and this is a song that encourages persistence.”

While the song was personal to Livgren, many fans also connected with its general message of perseverance without realizing its religious context. Decades later, “Hold On” is remembered on fan forums as one of Kansas's most beautiful and underrated songs.

“Hold On” and the Audio-Visions album marked a turning point for Kansas. It was the last album to feature original lead singer Steve Walsh before his temporary departure from the band in 1981.

According to Classic Rock, Walsh took issue with some of  the lyrics that Livgren had written for Audio-Visions, most notably for “Hold On.”

Livgren went on to form the Christian rock band A.D. and later, the progressive rock band Proto-Kaw, and also worked as a solo artist.

In an interview with Progressor, he explained the changes to Kansas in the 1980s.

“In 1980, I had written a great deal of music that did not interest Kansas, yet I felt that it was some of my better material,” Livgren shared. “Kansas by that time had developed somewhat of a formula, and the band did not want to stray far from it. …Steve Walsh left Kansas shortly after, partly, I think because of my Christian beliefs, but mostly I think, because he simply wanted to be independent. Once he left, and then Robby Steinhardt, I felt too much of Kansas' identity was gone, and it was time to do something new.”

Once upon a time, I was a member of the MTV generation. We wore flannel, rolled our eyes and watched Reality Bites on repeat.

(Honestly, just taking a break from having to cook nightly dinner felt like a dream.)

Set amongst the mangrove forest in Riviera Maya, Banyan Tree Mayakoba is one of four upscale hotels (along with Rosewood,Fairmont and Alila) on 595 acres that are connected by lagoons via winding waterways. Now, more than a decade later, the signature spot has unveiled a five-year, almost $100 million reimagining which involved their now 34 beachfront suites, 121 villas and seven two-story floating lagoon villas while maintaining that original energy and spirit. “The resort does not try to compete through excess or spectacle,” says Afonso Cunha, general manager. “Instead, it offers something increasingly rare: privacy, serenity and the feeling of being fully present. The renovation was approached with great respect for that identity, preserving the property's emotional essence while being ready for a new generation of travelers.”

And You Say, Stay

One of the greatest luxuries in this age of nonstop inundation—with work and family demands, social coordination, social media streams, school communication and ads for all the glass skin masks we will perish without—is peace and quiet. And there is no true escape from overstimulation like holing up in a discreet residence. While it’s lovely to stay in a big, beautiful hotel, having a villa or suite—with space to retreat and breathe even while with others—is a different kind of gift.

During the re-envisioning of the resort’s accommodations, led by design firm Room 1804, the majority of the property’s villa portfolio—from one-bedroom spaces to multi-family residences—was redone. The property added 34 beachfront suites with private pools, outdoor showers and decks, as well as seven overwater Lagoon & Sunset Rooftop Pool villas with heated infinity pools, open-air relaxation spaces, outdoor bathtubs and rain showers. The look throughout the hotel now is intentionally simple and earthy, blending a Japanese Wabi-Sabi aesthetic (bring in the outdoors in) with Mexican roots. So, there is a simplicity and rustic elevation in the mix of parota and tzalam woods with crema maya stone. Though the floors are a dark stone, the countertops are a swirled white marble against the backdrop of unadorned white walls.

Nothing is overdone.

But it’s the indoor-outdoor piece that most stands out. As we Gen-Xers know from when our Boomer parents threw us outdoors without a plan or shipped us off to godforsaken sleepaway camps, nature is nourishing for the soul (mostly). And these villas offer that with details like sleek outdoor tubs set against rock walls. In my own Serenity Pool Villa, as an example, guests would enter through a large wooden door into a private courtyard—rather than a building—with an angular private swimming pool, hot tub and lounge deck a step above. The accomodation backs up against the lagoon itself, wild and free. “There is a sense of arrival . . . calm and connection with nature here that feels increasingly rare,” describes Cunha. “What I love most is how immersed you feel. Lagoons, mangroves and jungle constantly surround you and, even inside the villas, there is a feeling of openness. There is always natural light . . . and fresh air.” (He also appreciates the Faraday cage offered in the Wellbeing Pool Villa that helps guests truly unplug.)

Naughty By Nature

One evening, as we were dining al fresco under twinkle lights on an overhanging dock at Thai restaurant, Saffron, we were distracted by something swimming in the lagoon below us. When we shined a light, we realized it was a crocodile! This was no Nova special, people; it was the real thing.

Fortunately, the dude was small, and, actually, the property monitors the size of the few crocs, who are sometimes transferred to a nearby sanctuary—away from guests sipping their spicy margaritas with abandon.

The sighting was deeply cool. Once we stopped to look, we realized we could see giant fish and turtles swimming below the surface of the water, as well.

Nature is everywhere here—and that’s true whether guests are traveling from place-to-place by boat, spotting marine life and birds, or wandering the paths alongside adorable coati (furry brown and orange guys with narrow snouts and striped tails). I definitely met a few on my daily runs.

There are opportunities for classes like yoga on the lagoon too, under the tropical trees and amidst the critters.

Nice & Smooth

After seeing the croc, it was easy to get drawn back into dinner at Saffron—because the food at Banyan Tree is solid. (And not just because I don’t have to cook it!) In truth, from the moment guests arrive on property and are handed tangy Chaya juice drinks, the culinary delights begin.

As someone who is woefully allergic to dairy, I want to acknowledge how seamlessly they handled my needs. With food sensitivities being so rampant, it’s a huge leg-up to have this mastered. In addition to showing patience and adjusting dishes as needed, they actually made special dairy-free desserts that almost tasted too good to believe!

Though I am not a breakfast person, I especially loved the mountains of fresh papaya and mango at Sands Beach Club. They also served a coconut-based acai bowl that forever altered my meh view of the category.

There are many great dining options here at multiple restaurants, but the newest addition from the renovation is Suna, a speakeasy with Nikkei-style cuisine (which means Peruvian flavors with a Japanese preparation). The lightness is perfect in the tropical warmth.

All I Want To Do Is Have Some Fun

Though, in truth, it’s hard to imagine a better activity for a burnt out sandwicher than lying by a villa pool while reading a good book, Banyan Tree does offer other ways to spend time. For instance, guests can lie by a pool—and the turquoise ocean—with a book and some local seafood at the new adults-only Sur Beach Club.

Another fantastic option for relaxing, beyond cabana life? The above-par spa, where services are performed in overwater treatment rooms. A new dimly-lit Rainforest journey—which includes everything from saunas and steams with natural exfoliating scrubs to multiple plunges—has an otherworldly feel and leaves guests feeling truly refreshed.

Bikes abound for exploring beyond the golf carts. Of course, there are water activities galore.

No matter what one's preference, though, the goal here is to escape the responsibilities of home. And that ethos is almost more a vibe than anything else. “At sunset, the lighting throughout the pathways and villas creates a completely different mood that feels warm, intimate and deeply relaxing,” says Cunha. “It is something guests often remember emotionally more than visually.”

It turns out that relaxation is possible if you’re lucky enough to find a true escape. So, as some wise women once said, “Hold on for one more day.”

In 1981, Ronnie Milsap released a country ballad that would go on to become one of the defining songs of his career and a crossover hit during an era when country music was making its mark on the pop charts.

"I Wouldn't Have Missed it For The World" was written by Charles Quillen, Kye Fleming, and Dennis Morgan. The song told the story of a man recalling a relationship he would choose again without hesitation, despite its ups and downs.

Instead of dwelling on what went wrong, the story centered on what still felt meaningful in hindsight. That perspective gave the song an emotional weight that listeners connected to.

The song peaked at No. 20 on the Billboard Charts in October 1981. It piggybacked on the success of Milsap's No. 5 hit, "(There's) No Gettin' Over Me," which was released in June 1981 as the lead single from his album of the same name.

According to the Country Music Hall of Fame, Milsap logged forty-two country Top Ten hits between 1976 and 1992. He was voted Male Vocalist of the Year at the CMA Awards in 1974, 1976, and 1977.

Biography reports that Milsap has won six Grammy Awards and eight Country Music Association Awards. Additionally, the entertainer was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2014.

All Music reviewer Thom Jurek said of the song, "'I Wouldn't Have Missed It for the World' is urban cowboy country music in its purest essence. The sweeping backing vocals, a harp, a barely present pedal steel added for atmosphere, and enough acoustic guitars to supply an army of big-feathered hat-wearing drugstore cowpokes. It's also an awesome pop song."

In an interview with Herald-Mail Media, Milsap discussed his crossover success. He cited an RCA Records executive whom he said encouraged him to break into pop music.

“He told me I needed to become a multiformat artist. Make the records that will play on country, they’ll play on adult contemporary, they’ll play on pop radio. He said, ‘Your sales will pick up.’ He was right,” the country superstar shared.

On February 25, 2026, current country superstar Ella Langley covered "I Wouldn't Have Missed it For the World" during a performance ot the Grand Ole Opry. She captioned a video performance of the song, "Tonight I got to honor one of my very favorites with one of my favorite songs to sing at one of my favorite places to play music."

Ronnie Milsap celebrated his 83rd birthday in January 2026.

Prince William's future coronation will mark a major reshuffling of titles within the royal family.

Not only will William be crowned king and choose a regnal name, he will also have to decide whether to bestow his three children with new titles or wait til they're a little bit older.

For example, William himself was made the new Prince of Wales the day after his father King Charles III ascended to the throne on September 8, 2022, with his wife Kate Middleton becoming the first Princess of Wales since the death of Diana in 1997.

However if William's accession to the throne comes sooner than expected he may decide to delay the bestowing of titles like the one 11-year-old Princess Charlotte is expected to inherit.

This is the lifelong rank of Princess Royal, a position currently occupied by Charlotte's 75-year-old great-aunt Princess Anne.

It is an honorary title customarily bestowed on the monarch's eldest daughter, and the highest honor that can be given to a female member of the royal family.

Anne was 37 when she was bestowed with the title Princess Royal by her mother the queen.

Although Charlotte cannot inherit the title until Anne dies, and although William may ultimately choose to wait until an occasion like Charlotte's wedding day to bestow it on her, it is very likely that Charlotte will someday be the next Princess Royal.

William doesn't have many other options available to him to honor his eldest daughter—a dukedom, the highest rank in the peerage system, can only be bestowed on men and a woman can only become a duchess if she marries a duke.

This is how Meghan Markle became the Duchess of Sussex when she married Prince Harry on May 19, 2018. On the morning of their wedding Queen Elizabeth II made her grandson the Duke of Sussex, so that when Meghan married him a few hours later she automatically became a duchess.

When Charles dies William will immediately become king, even though his actual coronation ceremony may not be held for some time. (The British monarch operates on a principle of continuous succession, hence the phrase "the king is dead, long live the king".)

His 12-year-old son Prince George will also automatically inherit a few titles in that moment. From then on he will be the Duke of Cornwall as well as holding the Scottish title the Duke of Rothesay.

While he's set to inherit the title Prince of Wales from William this is not an automatic transfer, and William might wait until a future occasion to bestow it.

What about 8-year-old Prince Louis? The title Duke of York is traditionally bestowed on the monarch's second son. The queen's father King George VI held the dukedom of York before his older brother King Edward VIII's shock abdication in 1936.

But then there's the problem of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who was the Duke of York before he was stripped of his titles last year. From a legal point of view he is still technically the Duke of York, but his brother the king has forbidden him from using the title on any official documents.

When Andrew dies the title will revert back to the crown. It's been speculated that the royal family may allow the title to become dormant for a few generations in order to let the taint of its association with Andrew fade.

Little Louis, then, will probably be the next Duke of Edinburgh when his great-uncle Prince Edward dies and the title reverts back to the crown. Prince Philip, the queen's husband, was the previous Duke of Edinburgh until his death in 2021.

The video also includes flashbacks showing Jessie’s previous owner leaving her in a donation box before driving away, creating one of the soundtrack’s most emotional moments.

In 1972, the U.K rock band Yes released a song unlike almost anything else in rock music.

Running 18 minutes and 43 seconds, "Close to the Edge" occupied an entire side of the band's landmark album of the same name and pushed the boundaries of what a rock song could be. More than five decades later, the epic composition is still earning recognition.

In a recent ranking of the Top 20 Songs Longer Than 10 Minutes, Goldmine, the music collector's magazine, named "Close to the Edge" the greatest long song of all time.

"I think just objectively, on point of brains and brawn, 'Close to the Edge' has got to be the greatest long song of all time, whether you buy into what Yes is selling or not," Goldmine wrote.

The publication continued: "It's almost a cliché — or I suppose more of a hard-fought point of agreement — that Close to the Edge is the greatest progressive rock album of all time, and the main reason for that is this masterpiece of ethereal, spiritual, oddball music-making."

Released in September 1972, Close to the Edge arrived during a breakthrough period for the English progressive rock pioneers. The album became the band's biggest commercial success to that point, reaching No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and No. 4 in the United Kingdom. It would eventually sell more than one million copies in the United States.

The title track remains the centerpiece of the album.

Written by Jon Anderson and Steve Howe, the song blends progressive rock, classical influences, jazz elements and ambitious storytelling into a sprawling four-part suite. Its lyrics were inspired in part by Hermann Hesse's novel Siddhartha, while the music moves through dramatic shifts in tempo, mood and instrumentation. The composition was so ambitious that it occupied an entire side of the original vinyl release.

Although it was never released as a traditional hit single, "Close to the Edge" became one of the band's defining works and remains a benchmark for progressive rock more than 50 years after its debut.

Goldmine praised the song's adventurous structure and distinctive sound.

"The whole thing is a trip, first of nature sounds, then cacophony, then uncommon rhythms," the magazine wrote. "There's church organ music, Steve Howe's unique, wiry guitar playing, and then, on top of the whole spider-legged presentation, Jon Anderson speaking in tongues all mystical and just a little bit scary, like if you follow him and his flowing robe, you're gonna get locked in the church basement."

The publication concluded that the song's finale is what ultimately elevates it above its competition.

"The vaulted and heavenly ending, however, has you realizing that what he was talking about wasn't just guff."

Over the years, Close to the Edge has become one of the most acclaimed albums in progressive rock history. The record has appeared on numerous greatest-albums lists and was ranked among the greatest albums of all time by Rolling Stone. The title track, meanwhile, continues to be celebrated as one of the genre's defining achievements.

"Close to the Edge is the best of Yes’ many lineups at an absolute peak, with Jon Anderson’s sun-king vocals pouring out over new member Rick Wakeman’s dazzling keyboards. The title track, an 18-minute epic in four distinct parts, remains the most majestic moment in the prog-rock history," wrote Rolling Stone of the album and song.

More than 50 years after its release, "Close to the Edge" remains the standard against which other long-form rock epics are measured, proving that even a song approaching 19 minutes can leave listeners wanting more.

Julian Treasure, TED speaker (with over 160 million views) and author, aims to “regenerate the world’s listening” and fix “communication breakdowns and noise into connection” and more. He is intent on helping people, including “leaders and organizations… master conscious listening and speaking.” With that being his goal, it makes sense that our quote of the day features his thoughts on how essential it is to have intentionality when hearing someone out, and how it’s a skill that should be taught in schools. 

Treasure used to be a musician, first leading indie bands, then creating soundscapes for brands, which was only aided by his past as a “marketing entrepreneur” as well. He took that experience with sound and marketing and turned it into a practice that educates others on the importance of listening to each other, not just listening in general. He’s big on communication and believes that consciously receiving what someone is saying can aid when there is a breakdown in it.

“Conscious listening is very largely overlooked in the mainstream of education. It's such an important skill in life. And yet we expect children to pick it up from home or from peers informally.”

Treasure said this quote in an interview with NPR in 2014 for an article titled, “Pythagoras’ iPhone: Is Listening A Lost Classroom Art?” It’s essentially about how teachers want students to really listen during lessons—whether to properly have Socratic-style dialogue or to just learn well; however, they really weren’t. And it wasn’t just in schools; listening as a whole had become a “lost art," per the article.

This doesn’t mean people are just dead to what others are saying; more so, they’re referring to the fact that people now are waiting to respond with something as another person is talking, not waiting to listen to what they are saying and react to that instead.

Treasure, after saying the above quote, goes on to say: “It would be some sort of shock horror story if a child left school unable to read or write. But we do not teach explicitly, or test in the main, either speaking or—much more importantly—listening."

The journalist writes that it’s a good point, noting that teachers are hyper-focused on testing for “reading, writing and math skills" and because of that, "the arts of speaking and listening often get pushed” to the wayside. To which, Treasure says he thinks it’s “shocking.”

Deeper Meaning of Julian Treasure’s Quote—The Importance of ‘Conscious Listening’

In that same NPR article, Treasure reiterates that conscious listening “is a skill” and “not something that is just natural that we can expect everyone to be brilliant at just because we are human."

As he said in our quote of the day, this kind of observation is “something we have to work out” or on.

“Listening is an activity. It's not passive,” he told NPR. “We are creating the world by listening all the time."

So with that extra knowledge, and the quote alone, it’s easy to understand what he’s saying. Listening to someone with intention—really being there in the moment and hearing what they’re saying to you, so you can respond to their words rather than to a planned-out sentiment that you created in your head at the start of your conversation—is vital to not only interpersonal communication but to interpersonal connection as well.

And our lack of being able to do that kind of listening isn’t necessarily our fault; it’s a learned skill, and not one that is taught in schools. So if our parents don’t know how to do that, and our teachers aren’t grading us on it, then how will we know how to do it, either? It’s not something we can definitely just “pick up” in life or naturally from talking to friends or family, according to Treasure. 

His overall ethos is that many world problems and humanity as we know it currently could be made better or fixed with conscious listening. And maybe that’s an oversimplification of the issues we face today. But it is true that better attentiveness to the core of what someone’s saying can help you understand them better, and it opens the door to creating a better bond with them.
