Dolly Parton is once again putting her money where her heart is.

The country music icon is reportedly investing heavily in her newest project, which is aimed at helping children in need. 

After revealing at the end of February that the East Tennessee Children’s Hospital will officially be renamed the Dolly Parton Children’s Hospital, the 80-year-old will be making a substantial monetary commitment as well.

According to a source who spoke with Closer on Friday, March 6, Parton is “pouring a fortune into upgrading the place to make it worthy of having her name.”  The insider also noted that since her husband Carl Dean’s death, visiting the children at the hospital has brought her “a lot of solace” and “makes her feel useful.”

Parton shared the news with fans in a playful Instagram Reel on February 26, building suspense before revealing the announcement. “I am so excited to share that East Tennessee Children’s Hospital is becoming… Guess what?” she said. “Dolly Parton Children’s Hospital. Yay!”

The Knoxville-based hospital has been serving families since 1937 and operates as a not-for-profit pediatric facility with an “open-door” policy that ensures children receive care regardless of their ability to pay, race, or religion. Today, the system includes 20 locations across Tennessee, Southeast Kentucky and Southwest Virginia.

Hospital leaders say the partnership will strengthen their ability to provide top-tier pediatric care in the region. “This is more than a name change,” Matt Schaefer, President and CEO of Dolly Parton Children’s Hospital, said in a press release. “With Dolly’s support, we are strengthening our mission to deliver world-class pediatric care to families, ensuring every child who walks through our doors receives the treatment they deserve.”

The hospital initiative also continues a long tradition of Parton supporting children through philanthropy. Her Imagination Library, launched in the 1990s, provides free books to young readers around the world. The program was inspired by her father, who struggled with literacy growing up.

What Is Chicken Madeira?

Chicken Madeira is a signature dish from The Cheesecake Factory. It features seared chicken breasts, a mushroom Madeira sauce and fresh asparagus. The whole thing is topped with melted mozzarella cheese to deliver a range of tasty flavors and textures.

Chicken Madeira is different from chicken Marsala, although they have a few things in common. Chicken Marsala also features pan-seared chicken breasts and a mushroom sauce, but this dish relies on Marsala wine instead of Madeira wine. Plus, the overall flavor is slightly more umami, while Chicken Madeira has a subtle sweetness.

Ingredients Needed for Copycat Chicken Madeira

Here's what you need to recreate Chicken Madeira at home: chicken broth, beef broth, chicken bouillon cube, heavy cream (optional), Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, mustard powder, chicken breasts, garlic powder, flour, olive oil, asparagus, butter, garlic, Madeira wine, baby bella mushrooms, Parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, and salt and pepper.

How To Make Copycat Chicken Madeira at Home

There are several steps involved in making this dish.

To start, combine the chicken broth, beef broth, chicken bouillon cube, heavy cream, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder and mustard powder in a large measuring cup with a spout. Set it aside.

Trim the ends off of the asparagus and cut them in half. Cook them in boiling water for a few minutes, before draining them and rinsing them under cold water until they're cool. Set them aside.

Then, move on to your chicken. Slice the breasts in half lengthwise to create thinner slices. Cover them in plastic wrap and use a meat mallet to pound them to 1/2 inch thick. Pat them dry, season each side with salt and pepper and sprinkle a combination of garlic powder and flour over each side.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet and sear your chicken in batches, cooking them for four to five minutes on each side. Set that aside.

Add butter and garlic to the pan and cook for two minutes. Add Madeira wine, followed by the mushrooms. Bring the sauce to a gentle bubble and reduce it by half, cooking it for about 13 minutes. (Preheat your oven to 400 degrees at this point.)

Sprinkle in a little flour and whisk it to thicken the sauce. Add in the sauce mixture you made earlier in small splashes while stirring the pan. Bring it to a boil and then reduce the heat to a simmer. Stir in Parmesan cheese and let it reduce again.

Plate your chicken, asparagus and sauce, and sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top. Set the heat to medium-low, cover the pan and heat it until the cheese is melted. Another option: Place the dish in the oven for a few minutes to melt the cheese. Serve warm.

Chicken Madeira: My Honest Thoughts on the Copycat Recipe

I have a lot of thoughts about this dish, but let's start with the taste. The recipe really nails the flavors and textures The Cheesecake Factory's Chicken Madeira is known for. The chicken is slightly garlicky with a crispy exterior and juicy interior. The asparagus stalks are plump and crisp, and the mushroom sauce is creamy with a hint of sweetness. Together, this is one delicious dish.

That said, this isn't the fastest meal you can make and there's a lot happening at once. If you're wiped out from a busy workday and just want to eat already, this is probably not the dish for you.

I struggled a little with some elements of the sauce. The recipe encourages you to add some flour to the pan to thicken things up once the mushrooms are already in there, but that makes it harder to whisk the sauce to avoid clumps. I ended up having to tilt the pan to try to keep the mushrooms on one side and the liquid on another to whisk without catching mushrooms. Even then, I still ended up with some clumps.

I also had trouble melting the cheese just right. The recipe gives the option of heating the chicken in the oven or essentially steaming it in the sauce, but the chicken got overcooked when I went the steaming route, and the sauce started burning in the pan when I put it in the oven to try to melt the cheese. Ultimately, I plated the chicken, put that plate on a pan and placed that in the oven. Even then, I couldn't get a perfectly melted mozzarella topping, but I wasn't mad about it.

I noticed that the sauce thickened up really quickly after I took it off the heat, too. So, next time around, I'll hold back when adding flour to try to skirt that issue.

Overall, though, this is an excellent recipe that I'll be happy to make again.

1. Come up with a strategy in advance

The recipe has you jumping from one thing to another, which felt a little chaotic to my end-of-day brain. So, take a beat to think about what you're going to do when to make the process a little more seamless.

If you want to make this on a weeknight, there's plenty of prep work you could do ahead of time, like grating your cheese and cutting and flattening your chicken.

3. Go easy on the flour

This recipe leaves some wiggle room on the flour in the sauce. I'd be conservative with it, making sure to give the sauce plenty of time to simmer before adding more (if at all). The sauce will naturally thicken over time, so have some patience with it.

4. Consider other vegetables

Asparagus can be tough to find when it's not in season. So, either consider using frozen asparagus or popping in a fellow tasty green vegetable, like broccoli.

Nearly 20 years after its release, the 2008 Australian film, Lake Mungo, is still making an impact.

In February 2026, Collider released a list of the top "10 Most Unsettling Movies of All Time." The list featured several acclaimed films, like Cure from 1997, 1966's Seconds, Angst, released in 1983, The Vanishing from 1988, the 1980 classic The Shining, Noroi: The Curse from 2005, 1992's Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, the 1993 anime, Perfect Blue, and the beloved 1973 horror movie, The Exorcist. Lake Mungo, which takes an intimate look at the Palmer family who appear to be haunted following the unexpected death of their 16-year-old daughter, Alice (Talia Zucker), took home the list's number one spot.

According to the publication, Lake Mungo secured the title of the most unsettling movie ever as it is a unique, impactful found footage horror film, with quiet intensity and an upsetting look at grief.

The Cast of 'Lake Mungo' Spoke About the Film's Lasting Legacy

In a 2023 interview with Split Tooth Media, the film's cinematographer, John Brawley, David Pledger, who played Russell Palmer, and Martin Sharpe, who played Mathew Palmer, opened up about the lasting legacy of Lake Mungo.

Sharpe said he realized that the film still had fans in 2020 when he "got on Twitter."

"The audience that it has found has really been in America, it’s been discovered more than it ever was in Australia, which is really weird. In Australia, we weren’t contacted and there weren’t many interviews, so we didn’t really know. Obviously, it’s been a slow burn," stated Sharpe in the Split Tooth Media interview.

Sharpe also noted that audiences usually find the 2008 horror movie because it's often on "a best found footage horror list." He said, however, that the film's director and writer, Joel Anderson, wanted the film to be "something you might stumble across on a random TV station at two in the morning and be like, ‘what the hell is this?’"

"Which I think was a big part of why it wasn’t heavily promoted when it was released, particularly in Australia," continued the actor in the 2023 interview. "I think that Joel really liked that it’s seeped out there and people have discovered it in different ways without coming at it expecting gore or heaps of jump scares. People just discovered in the way that he intended it to be discovered."

Brawley also said Anderson "would describe it as a supernatural thriller," rather than a horror movie. The cinematographer went on to say he believed labeling Lake Mungo as a horror film "hurt it a little bit."

"It does have a moment of disquiet, a scary moment. But it’s not that rewarding if that’s what you’re looking for. If you’re looking for a horror movie, I don’t think it’s accurate to call it that," said Brawley while speaking to the publication.

When audiences heard “rugged” actor Lee Marvin sing in the 1969 musical Paint Your Wagon, few expected the performance to become a hit record. Yet his rumbling rendition of “Wand'rin' Star” climbed to No. 1 in the U.K. on March 7, 1970. 

Throughout his career, Marvin took on roles that tested his limits. “The only thing in life that's really interesting is the contest,” said the former decorated Marine who later became an Oscar-winning actor. However, taking on a big Hollywood musical might have been one of the most unlikely projects he ever accepted.

In 1969, worried about being typecast as “the bad guy,” Marvin signed on to star opposite Clint Eastwood in the big-budget musical film Paint Your Wagon. Both actors were paid $1 million plus a percentage of the profits — a massive payday at the time. 

Set during the California Gold Rush, the film follows two unlikely partners searching for fortune. Marvin plays drunken prospector Ben Rumson, while Eastwood portrays reluctant farmer Sylvester Newel. The two “pardners” strike gold together, but eventually clash when they both fall for Elizabeth, played by Jean Seberg. 

It wasn’t just acting that would challenge Marvin, the part also required him to sing. By accepting the role, Marvin knew he would have to step away from his usual “tough-guy” persona.

He performed three songs for the film: “The First Thing You Know,” “Hand Me Down That Can of Beans” and “Wand’rin’ Star.” To prepare, Marvin took “private talk-singing lessons” from Alan J. Lerner, the three-time Oscar-winning songwriter who co-wrote the songs for the 1951 Broadway production of Paint Your Wagon with Austrian composer Frederick Loewe.

Composer Nelson Riddle, who earned an Oscar nomination for his work on the film, supported Marvin in performing his own songs, while Seberg’s singing was dubbed by Anita Gordon. Riddle’s son Christopher later recalled how excited his father was about the project. 

“Lee Marvin had a wonderful sense of humour and he thought it was hilarious that he was starring in a musical,” Riddle said in the book 1,000 UK Number One Hits. “My father said it would be ridiculous to have him mime to somebody else’s voice as the role wasn’t meant to be sung by a great singer. He gave him voice lessons and got him to ‘gravel voice’. My father was very happy with the result.”

Paint Your Wagon hit theaters in October 1969, and its soundtrack combined new songs by Lerner and André Previn, as well as selections from the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.

Marvin’s melancholy rendition of “Wand’rin’ Star” was released in the U.K. as a 45rpm single in February 1970. 

The track spent a total of 23 weeks on the charts, hitting No. 1 on the first Saturday in March and holding that spot for three weeks, keeping “I Want You Back” by the Jackson 5 and “Let It Be” by the Beatles behind it. 

While director Joshua Logan admired Marvin’s “growly singing voice,” critics were far less favorable. Seberg described it as “rain gurgling down a rusty pipe,” and The Hollywood Reportercommented that the actor had a “voice like a porch swing in wet weather,” noting that in Wand’rin’ Star, “he merely sustains a pained, bough-break wheeze, obliterated by the choral work.” 

Despite mixed reviews, the public loved Marvin’s performance. The single sold well in the U.S. and reached No. 1 in both Ireland and the U.K. 

Marvin, who earned a Golden Globe nomination for his role in the film, enjoyed the unexpected attention his rendition brought. According to The Telegraph, an assistant recalled that he would occasionally perform the song for friends and fans in restaurants and bars whenever it was politely requested. 

Over the years, the song has become a cult classic, with covers by a wide range of artists, including Val Doonican, Shane MacGowan, Christopher Lee and Brian May, as well as comedians like Julian Clary and Jim Davidson. 

Vince Gill is looking back on how he nearly came to blows with a radio host over his wife, Amy Grant.

The beloved country singer and songwriter, 68, appeared on Phil Rosenthal and David Wild's "Naked Lunch" podcast and reflected on how he and radio host Don Imus had previously been good friends. However, Imus started to speak negatively about Gill on his show, and "kind of turned on me and started running me down and ragging me on his show every morning."

On the podcast episode, Gill said Imus would say, "’I can't believe my favorite singer, Vince Gill, lost the Baby Jesus, married that Christian girl,’ and blah blah blah. So, he was just wearing my a-- out," Gill recalled, Fox News reported.

When Gill had a new record coming out, he decided he wanted to get booked on the Imus show to confront the situation head-on. But then Imus brought up Gill's wife, legendary singer Amy Grant.

"He said something about Amy, and I said, ‘I'm glad you brought Amy up,’" he continued. "I said, ‘I've been hearing you say some pretty ugly things about my wife, and I’m just kind of curious why.' I said, ‘You used to be a great supporter of mine’ and this and that."

What Did Vince Gill Say to Don Imus?

Gill explained that he told Imus that if he really knew Grant, he would never speak unkindly about her.

"I said, ‘Well, if you ever met her, you'd never say an unkind word about her,’" Gill said, adding that he told Imus, "‘I'm going to shoot you straight.’ I said, ‘I really only came on this show for one reason.’ I said, ‘We're either going to talk this out, straighten this out,’ I said, 'or I'm going to crawl across this desk, and I'm going to kick your a--.'"

In response, Imus’ "eyes got big," Gill shared, Fox News continued.

In response to Gill's aggression, Imus immediately changed his tune. Gill told Rosenthal and Wild that the duo had a great visit, and their friendship was restored at that moment.

"I said, ‘Good choice, Don,’ you know, and so we had a great visit, and I left the studio and was headed home, and I turned on his show, and he was still on, and I heard him say, ‘I don't know why I was giving that guy so much crap. I love that guy,’ you know, and he completely turned, and we stayed great friends until his passing."

Here’s something that will keep you up at night: Women statistically get less sleep than men. According to the Sleep Foundation, adult women are more likely than men to wake up every night and more likely to stay up late every night. 

If you’re a woman reading this, you may be thinking, duh! Even in 2026, women still bear a disproportionate burden of unpaid household labor and childcare. According to a report conducted by the Gender Equity Policy Institute, women spend roughly 12.6 hours a week on household chores, like cooking and cleaning, while men spend roughly 5.7 hours a week on them.

It’s women who are more likely to be up with insomnia due to stress, rock a crying child back to sleep or be answering work emails at night because they had to spend an hour in the school pick-up line. So here’s a question for you: How much sleep do women really need?

The answer to this varies depending on what lifestage a woman is in; sleep changes during pregnancy and menopause (something else men are spared). Here’s what you need to know about how much sleep you should get depending on your age, according to a sleep expert.

How Much Sleep Women in Their 20s and 30s Need

“Women in their 20s and 30s typically need around seven to nine hours of sleep per night, which is known as the sweet spot for cognitive performance, balancing hormones and emotional regulation,” says Dr. Deborah Lee, MD, FAACP, a doctor with Doctor Fox and sleep expert working with The Wooden Bed Company.

These are the years women may be putting in demanding hours at work to start building their careers while also maintaining familial, friendship and romantic relationships. That’s a lot to juggle. For many, it’s also when they start having children.

“This makes sleep absolutely essential for stress resilience and metabolic health. If you’re in this age bracket and consistently get under six hours of sleep a night, it’s likely going to have a long-term impact, whether this is contributing towards a health condition, increased anxiety or weight gain,” Dr. Lee says. Scientific research backs this up, showing that consistently getting less hours of sleep a night is associated with a higher risk for high blood pressure and weight gain. 

During pregnancy, Dr. Lee says that the body requires more sleep. “Pregnancy increases what the body is demanding from you and your energy drains a lot quicker. Many people feel as though they need more sleep, particularly in the first trimester,” she explains.

In fact, it’s not unusual to need 12 hours of sleep a night during the first trimester, according to Johns Hopkins Medicine. Getting enough sleep is important throughout pregnancy. According to a study in the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine, consistently getting less than six hours of sleep in the third trimester is linked to longer labor and a higher risk of Cesarean deliveries.

How Menopause Impacts Sleep Needs for Women in Their 40s and 50s

While the number of hours of sleep women should get doesn’t change during menopause, Dr. Lee says that it can be harder to get them due to hormonal fluctuations. “Women’s sleep will become a lot lighter, meaning that they might wake up easier and earlier, and feel less refreshed the next day even if they spend the exact same time in bed,” she explains.

Dr. Lee says that mood swings, anxiety, brain fog, night sweats, insomnia and hot flashes can all get in the way of consistently getting enough sleep during menopause. “Insomnia is a major symptom of perimenopause and often occurs in the 40s, many years before the last menstrual period, and in the absence of hot flashes,” she says. 

To this point, according to a 2025 study published in the Journal of Clinical Medicine, between 13 and 47% of people in perimenopause experience insomnia and between 30 and 60% of people in menopause experience insomnia. 

Since getting enough sleep is crucial for health, it’s important to talk to your doctor about potential interventions if you are in menopause and consistently not getting enough sleep. For example, Dr. Lee says that hormone replacement therapy has been shown to significantly improve sleep within one to three months of starting.

How Much Sleep Postmenopausal Women Need

According to Dr. Lee, after 60, the structure and timing of sleep change for most women. She says that while postmenopausal women still require seven to nine hours of sleep within 24 hours, often this is split up between a shorter sleep duration at night with the addition of a nap during the day. 

“The perception of sleep changes. A lot of people over the age of 65 feel they’re not sleeping enough, whereas in fact, they’re getting a shorter sleep at night, but making up for it with naps in the day,” she shares.

Dr. Lee adds that many people shift to going to bed earlier and waking up earlier as they age. She says that, often, sleep becomes lighter too. “One of the most consistent changes with aging is a reduction in slow wave sleep, which is the deepest, most restorative stage of sleep. REM sleep, which is associated with dreaming and memory processing, may also shorten slightly as you get older. As a result, sleep becomes lighter overall, and you may find yourself waking up more easily compared to how to used to sleep,” she explains.

No matter how old you are, Dr. Lee emphasizes that maintaining habits that support good sleep are important. This includes not drinking alcohol or eating too close to bedtime, avoiding caffeine late in the day and having a relaxing, screen-free wind-down routine. Having these habits in place helps blunt sleep disruptors when they do occur. 

Remember, staying healthy both now and in the future requires getting consistently good sleep. If you’re not getting enough, talk to your healthcare provider about possible interventions that can help.

Ten months after Totoreleased their beloved song, "Africa," it charted as number one on the Billboard Top 100 on February 2, 1983. For over four decades, the song, featured on the band's fourth studio album, Toto IV, has remained a cultural phenomenon.

However, in a 2023 interview with Smashing Interviews Magazine, the co-founder and keyboardist of Toto, David Paich, said "Africa" barely got onto Toto IV.

During the interview, Paich shared he began writing the song after he acquired a "new synthesizer from Yamaha." While toying around with the instrument for the first time, he "started playing that riff" from "the intro of 'Africa.'" He said that the song's verses, chorus, and melody soon followed. Paich also said he was immediately blown away by the song.

"I said, 'Man, I mean, I know that I'm good, I'm a decent songwriter, but this is beyond this is higher level. This is coming from above. This is God's divine intervention,'" recalled Paich in the 2023 interview.

Paich said that he called his fellow Toto co-founder, late drummer Jeff Porcaro, over to complete the song.

"I wanted Jeff Porcaro to be a co-writer on it because I wanted him to arrange the percussion on it. And make it so special that it would be hypnotic," said Paich.

Paich described working on the song with Porcaro as "a magical experience."

The musician said, however, there was some pushback over the song's complex lyrics.

"I was roasted for that. They were like, 'People in high school can't understand these words.' And I said, 'Well, I went to college so I'm writing for college-level people.' I got a lot of s--t over that," said Paich in the 2023 interview.

In addition, Paich said he was told to "save this song for [his] solo album."

"That's a nice way of saying it's not good enough for the album, it's not really good enough for the album. It's so unique and it's done what it's done today, considering it was barely going to make the record," said Paich.

Graham will appear in Mike Flanagan‘s Carrie series for Amazon MGM Studios, based on the legendary debut novel from Stephen King. Back in June, it was announced by Deadline that Graham had joined the cast, with Summer Howell in the title role.

Authorities are addressing new questions after a body was discovered in a Phoenix canal, as the search for Nancy Guthrie continues. The sheriff’s department confirmed it is aware of the discovery and is working to determine whether the case is connected in any way to the disappearance of Nancy, the 84-year-old mother of Savannah Guthrie, who has been missing since Sunday, Feb. 1.

According to Fox 10 Phoenix, the body of a woman was found near 27th Place and Grand Canal Trail on Friday, March 6. The woman's identity has not been released and an investigation is now underway.

"Details on the call indicated that an adult female was on the nearby canal bank and was unresponsive," read a statement posted by authorities in Maricopa County. "When officers arrived, they located the woman, who was ultimately pronounced deceased on scene."

The news prompted widespread speculation that the deceased may have been Nancy, but the Pima County Sheriff's Department has said that the incident is not related.

"PCSD says it has not been advised of any law enforcement activity at the canal in Phoenix this morning being connected to the Nancy Guthrie case," Fox News Digital's Michael Ruiz wrote on X.

For reference, it's about 120 miles from Phoenix to the Catalina Foothills—where Nancy lives.

Authorities believe that Nancy may have been abducted from her home in the middle of the the night. Despite receiving thousands of tips, no leads have led to an arrest and Nancy's whereabouts are still unknown.

In 1967, Jimi Hendrix unleashed one of the most influential songs in rock history.

His track "Purple Haze," recorded with The Jimi Hendrix Experience, quickly became a defining moment of the psychedelic rock era. Decades later, the song continues to receive recognition, including being ranked among the greatest songs ever in the book The 100 Greatest Songs of All Time by Carolyn McHugh.

Released as a single in March 1967, "Purple Haze" helped establish Hendrix as one of the most innovative guitarists of his generation. The song's distorted opening riff, driven by Hendrix's groundbreaking guitar effects and feedback techniques, introduced listeners to a bold new sonic landscape.

"Jimi was playing a small club date in London and was backstage toying with the riff of 'Purple Haze,' and [record producer] Chas [Chandler], you know, being there, heard it immediately and said, 'Write the rest of that. That's the next single,'" Hendrix biographer John McDermott told NPR. "Because I think he had heard enough of Jimi, even in the two or three months that they were together, to know that that is something very special, work on that."

The track would later appear on the band's landmark debut album, Are You Experienced, widely regarded as one of the most important rock albums of the 1960s.

Despite its reputation as a psychedelic anthem, Hendrix said the song's meaning was often misunderstood. In an interview published in Rolling Stone, he explained that the lyrics were inspired by a dream. “Purple Haze was all about a dream I had that I was walking under the sea,” Hendrix said, pushing back on the common assumption that the song was a reference to drug culture.

The impact of "Purple Haze" was immediate and lasting. Its innovative guitar work influenced generations of musicians, while Hendrix's electrifying performances, including his legendary appearance at the Monterey International Pop Festival, helped cement his reputation as one of rock's most groundbreaking performers.

Hendrix's career was cut tragically short. The revolutionary guitarist died in 1970 at the age of 27, but his influence on rock music continues to resonate more than half a century later.

If you're one of the many who've fallen in love with Trader Joe's tote bags, get ready, because the grocery chain announced that the bags will be back in stores this month. The totes, both big and small, are due to be released in mid-March, but the exact date they'll appear is unknown.

"We plan to offer pastel mini canvas totes in your neighborhood Trader Joe’s store in mid-March," Trader Joe's public relations manager, Nakia Rohde, told the Reno Gazette-Journal. “There will not be a specific day the totes will arrive in all Trader Joe’s stores nationwide."

Rohde also revealed that the large canvas bag will feature "lavender handles and a pink logo." This sounds like it's just a larger replica of the "lovely lavender" mini canvas tote that has become so beloved.

Trader Joe's first began selling the pastel mini totes for $2.99 in 2024. The delicate pink, baby blue, mint green, and lovely lavender colors perfectly embodied the upcoming spring season. Despite their diminutive size -- just 13 inches long, 11 inches tall, and 6 inches wide -- they quickly sold out at stores across the country.

In 2025, the reusable bags were re-released and promptly sold out again. They also started appearing on resale sites, such as eBay, Poshmark, and Shein, at drastically marked-up prices. One eBay listing for $14.95 is already 5 times the cost of a single bag, but another of $50,000 for a single 2025 mint green mini tote bag seems unbelievable.

However, the bags have become a cultural phenomenon overseas, as well, which is part of what has fueled the resale market. They've been spotted in England, Japan, and the Philippines.

While the pastel mini tote bags seem to have started the craze, other colors that Trader Joe's has introduced have sold out just as fast. Just in time for Halloween in 2025, the discount grocer came out with some festive mini totes in orange, solid black, purple, and purple and green.

A role that makes you a pop culture icon can be both a blessing and a curse. For Jamie Farr, portraying Corporal Maxwell Klinger on M*A*S*Hfrom 1972 to the show’s end in 1983 made him a household name.

Actually, it made Klinger a household name, often to Farr’s frustration. “I correct people when they say, ‘Hey, how's Radar doing?’ I say, ‘his name is Gary Burghoff,’” Farr said during a 1995 segment with radio talk show host Peter Anthony Holder on CJAD 800 AM, per MeTV.  

“I protect them, but it's just dreadful,” he added. “That's the double-edged sword. It makes you famous. You get some money from it. You go on and do the best you can, but it really is dreadful that people don't know your name.”

Farr first appeared as Klinger on Oct. 8, 1972, in the fourth episode of M*A*S*H’s first season. It was the first time audiences met the 4077th’s corporal, who hoped to get a Section 8 psychiatric discharge from the Army by wearing women’s clothing.

At the time, Farr had previously worked on The Red Skeleton Show and had bit parts in series like The Dick Van Dyke Show and My Three Sons, as well as films like Blackboard Jungle and The Greatest Story Ever Told. But none of these roles were as successful as Klinger—nor were they as personal.

One issue with fans' inability to separate Farr from Klinger is that much of the actor’s life was incorporated into the character. Klinger was the first main character on M*A*S*H who wasn’t part of Richard Hooker’s 1968 novel or Robert Altman’s 1970 movie adaptation.

Like Farr, Klinger was an Arab-American of Lebanese descent from Toledo, Ohio. And when he wasn’t wearing dresses, Klinger often sported the jersey and cap for the Toledo Mud Hens. He’d also make reference to his home, like swearing how “Tony Packo’s got the greatest Hungarian hot dogs.” While this allowed Farr to embody the role, soon all fans could see was Klinger.

“When they watch a television show, you become that character, and that's all it is,” he said during the 1995 radio show. “When the show is over, we still have to pay our rent, we have to buy food. We have to do all the same things that you do, so it makes it a little more difficult.”

At the time of the interview, M*A*S*H had been off the air for over a decade, following its historic finale. Farr, who had landed roles on other shows (Barnaby Jones, Kolchak: The Night Stalker, The Love Boat) during his time on M*A*S*H, tried to find his professional footing.

He appeared on the spin-offAfterMASH and on episodes of Murder, She Wrote and Diagnosis: Murder. He also appeared in The Cannonball Run and its two sequels. In 1992, he made his Broadway debut, replacing Nathan Lane in a revival of Guys and Dolls, per the Toledo Blade.

“That's why I do Broadway,” Farr said in 1995. “That's exactly why I do Broadway, because I refuse to succumb to the stereotypical things that Hollywood does to a performer by saying, 'We don't dare hire [Bob Denver] because they're going to think of him only as Gilligan.'"

“Let me show you a little trick they do in television,” he added. "Remember how Mary Tyler Moore did The Mary Tyler Moore Show, but her name in the show was not ‘Mary Tyler Moore.’ It was ‘Mary Richards.’ So that’s what they do—because they don’t want people out there not to know who they are. Even some of the movies that John Wayne did, did you notice his name was always ‘John’?”

“So that's the trick,” added Farr. “If you get a show named after you, and then play another character, that's fine. But if you do a show that's an ensemble show like Gilligan’s Island or M*A*S*H, then you’re in trouble.”

Farr’s last credited on-screen role was in 2019’s The Cool Kids. He also appeared in 2018’s Angels On Tap.

Beatty is a Rare Sight on the Red Carpet

Unlike most celeb kids, you won't find Beatty on every red carpet. The rising theater star rarely makes major appearances, but made an exception for the 78th Annual Tony Awards last year.

Beatty looked as glam as could be in a head-to-toe Chanel look. Her black dress featured a high, halter-style neck with a tiered waist. Slightly sheer as it cascaded downward, the look was complete thanks to elbow-length black gloves and bold jewelry. Her long, auburn hair was done in soft curls.

A Juilliard-trained actress, Beatty returns in March opposite Hugh Jackman in Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Classes at Audible’s Minetta Lane Theatre. In the play, Beatty’s character is a college student who becomes involved with her older, successful professor, played by Jackman.

Despite the world knowing him as a megastar, Beatty previously said she didn’t feel the least bit starstruck by Jackman.

“There is nobody less movie starry in the world than Hugh Jackman,” Beatty said recently in a piece in Interview. “He’s the most generous, loving, open, kind, hardworking person. He’s done so much musical theater, and you can see that in the way that he shows up to work. Nobody works harder than musical theater performers—they’re such athletes. You can see that in his sensibility around learning lines. So I was intimidated, but when we sat down to do the first reading of the play in the fall, it was so animated immediately that it became about the play very quickly.”

The limited-series Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette is shattering records for the FX network.

The series, which takes an inside look at the lives and romance of Kennedy and Bessette, has logged over 25 million hours of streaming for the series' first five episodes. This information was shared by producer Ryan Murphy via Instagram.

The post reads that the series has broken records "as the most-watched limited series ever on Hulu and Disney+." These figures were shared ahead of the "Wedding Day" episode, which aired on March 5.

The Hollywood Reporter wrote that "virtually all of its audience has come on the two streaming platforms (Hulu and Disney+)." The series debuts new episodes each week on FX for those who watch the series via cable.

Two of the film's real-life characters have recently spoken out about how they have been depicted, or weighed in on incidents presented in the dramatization of Kennedy and Bessette's relationship. Both Daryl Hannah, who dated Kennedy for five years, and Bessette's ex, Michael Bergin, have recently made public statements about the series.

Bergin was asked by TMZ if Kennedy was jealous of his relationship with Bessette. He responded, "How would I know?"

Hannah wrote an op-ed for The New York Times, sharing her displeasure about how she was portrayed in the series' early episodes. She wrote, "A recent tragedy-exploiting television series about John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette features a character using my name and presents her as me. The choice to portray her as irritating, self-absorbed, whiny, and inappropriate was no accident."

She added, "The character 'Daryl Hannah' portrayed in the series is not even a remotely accurate representation of my life, my conduct or my relationship with John. The actions and behaviors attributed to me are untrue."
