For Below Deck Mediterranean bosun Nathan Gallagher, leaving Australia has put an even bigger spotlight on his legal troubles.

New South Wales Police confirmed that an arrest warrant was issued after Gallagher failed to appear in court on assault-related charges. Gallagher, who has appeared on Seasons 9, 10 and now 11 of the Bravo series, was convicted in absentia and is now wanted by Australian authorities in connection with the case.

Authorities are also warning the public not to approach Gallagher if they see him and instead to notify police immediately. Gallagher has also since deleted his social media accounts.

Because Gallagher fled, prosecutors were able to present evidence against him without him being present to defend himself, and the court convicted him in absentia. Under Australian law, he could potentially seek to have the conviction set aside or annulled. However, evidence that he fled the country could make that process more difficult. His decision to leave Australia could also be considered by a judge when determining any eventual sentence if he is returned to the country.

That could leave Gallagher facing another difficult legal hurdle if he is eventually brought back to Australia. While leaving the country does not automatically establish guilt, his absence from the proceedings and subsequent flight could become relevant to how the case proceeds.

Of course, what happens next could depend on whether Gallagher turns himself in, is arrested, or remains outside Australia. Australia’s extradition system allows the country to request the return of someone facing criminal proceedings or a sentence, and Australia can make an extradition request to any country. If Australia does not have an extradition treaty with that country, however, whether the request is accepted depends on that country’s domestic laws.

That means Gallagher’s decision to remain overseas would not necessarily put him beyond the reach of Australian authorities, but the legal process for bringing him back could vary significantly depending on where he is.

Activist and feminist pioneer Gloria Steinem died at the age of 92. The trailblazer influenced generations, making a lasting impact through her words and actions.

Steinem’s family and foundation shared the sad news on Thursday, September 3, writing a moving Instagram message: “Yesterday, Gloria Steinem passed away peacefully in her home in New York City, surrounded by some of the many who loved her. Gloria’s near-century on earth were years well-lived, and she continued working for equality until the very end. Gloria’s greatest gift was her ability to listen to others, to make others feel seen and heard.”

As news of her passing broke, tributes to the icon started pouring in. Actress Rosie O’Donnell was one of the first celebs to honor Steinem, posting two moving messages on Instagram. 

The first was a photo of the pair from an article in which O’Donnell praised actress Lena Dunham, calling her the next Steinem. Eleven years ago, she said during an interview on SiriusXM, “It’s really hard for me as a 53-year-old who was raised with the feminist movement and with ‘Our Bodies Ourselves,’ and to see there is no Gloria in the wings, until God gave us Lena Dunham. And I really feel as though she is the embodiment of, like, she’s like the child of Gloria Steinem.” And now that Steinem has passed, Rosie’s celebrating her life with this memory and the gut-wrenching caption, “No words. #legend.”

Shortly after her first post, O’Donnell shared a photo of herself, Steinem, and actress/activist Jane Fonda, writing, “Gloria – the mother of the women’s movement – we r all in ur debt.”

Fans flocked to both posts, expressing their sadness and respect for Steinem. “I raised a feminist who will carry Gloria’s message of empowerment on for the rest of her life. That’s what Gloria taught us…from mother to daughter and so on,” wrote one commenter as others added, “How lucky were we to live at the same time as Gloria. Gloria saw what held women down, and educated, fought to make it right. Dedicated her life to enlighten us”, “Gloria Steinem. You left the world better than you found it. You were a great thought leader. You made me proud to be a woman,” and “We owe her and @janefonda Icons, trailblazers. May Ms. Steinem rest in peace. You did so much. A simple thank you would not be enough.”

O’Donnell and Steinem have a long history of working together for equality. In 1993, the pair co-hosted the “Voices of Choice” benefits concert, and in 2016 joined forces with Jane Fonda for the “A Night of Comedy” performance to support the Fund for Women’s Equality.

The question hanging over Massachusetts mom Lindsay Clancy‘s murder trial is no longer only what verdict jurors will reach. It is whether they will reach one at all.

Lindsay, 36, a former labor and delivery nurse, is charged with three counts of first-degree murder in the January 24, 2023, strangulation deaths of her three children whom she shared with ex-husband Patrick Clancy: Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months.

The murders took place at the family’s Duxbury, Massachusetts, home. She has pleaded not guilty. Her lawyers argue she lacked criminal responsibility because she was suffering from postpartum psychosis. Prosecutors contend she understood her actions.

The nine-woman, three-man jury returned Thursday, September 3, for a sixth day of deliberations after more than 28 hours of discussion.

CNN reported that Jurors have twice told Plymouth Superior Court Judge William Sullivan they could not reach a unanimous decision. Sullivan has since given the panel the Tuey-Rodriguez instruction, a last-resort charge urging jurors to reconsider their views.

Trial attorney, victims’ rights advocate and legal analyst Shari Karney tells Parade there is no automatic countdown to a mistrial. “There is no magic number of hours after which a judge must declare a mistrial,” Karney says.

She says Sullivan can encourage jurors to continue talking, but there is a constitutional limit. “A judge can encourage deliberation. A judge cannot coerce a verdict.”

If jurors remain firmly divided, however, the trial could end without a guilty or not guilty verdict. “If this jury remains hopelessly deadlocked, the judge can declare a mistrial,” Karney says.

Karney says the judge must be careful not to cross the line between encouraging jurors to keep talking and pressuring them into abandoning their own conclusions.

She added, “If jurors are genuinely divided, they have a constitutional right to remain divided. And if a judge were to push jurors beyond that point and effectively coerce a verdict, that could create a serious appellate issue. A verdict is supposed to represent twelve conscientious judgments—not twelve exhausted people finally saying, ‘Fine.'”

She stresses that a hung-jury mistrial would not clear Lindsay of the charges. “But a mistrial caused by a hung jury is not an acquittal,” she says. “It does not mean Lindsay Clancy has been found innocent. It means this jury could not reach the unanimity required for a criminal verdict.”

Karney also cautions against assuming a mistrial would mean Lindsay immediately leaves custody. “And I think there is another misconception that needs to be corrected: a mistrial does not necessarily mean Lindsay Clancy walks out of the courthouse,” she says.

What happens next would depend on the court, prosecutors and the defense, including whether the Commonwealth pursues another trial or the two sides seek another resolution.

“She is currently under the authority of the court and has significant psychiatric and medical needs. If there is a mistrial, the next questions become what happens to her custody, what the Commonwealth intends to do, and whether the defense and prosecution pursue a resolution. Does she remain at Tewksbury State Hospital? Most likely, yes.”

Karney believes that possibility raises another issue: whether Lindsay would be mentally competent to stand trial again. Lindsay is permanently paralyzed following her suicide attempt after the children’s deaths.

Karney says another trial would carry a human cost for everyone involved. “A second trial would not be emotionally or psychologically cost-free,” she says. Karney also believes prosecutors and the defense should consider resolving the case without another full trial if the jury hangs. “A negotiated settlement deserves serious consideration,” she says.

For Karney, a deadlocked jury would not erase the pain of the deceased kids or what conspired in 2023. It would leave both sides facing a harder question about what justice should look like after a trial that failed to produce unanimity.

There was a time when I practically treated Panera like my office. When I lived closer to one, I had an Unlimited Sip Club membership and would regularly bring my laptop, grab a coffee, iced tea or lemonade, and settle in to work for a few hours. I don’t make it there quite as often these days, but Panera‘s new fall menu gave me a pretty good reason to go back.

Of the three, I was especially curious about the PB&J Cookie. Peanut butter and jelly is already hard to mess up, and stuffing grape jelly inside a peanut butter cookie sounded like perfection.

I decided to do a taste test of the three new items from Panera’s fall menu to see which were worth ordering and, more importantly, which one I’d actually order again. I liked all three, but one was definitely my favorite.

The Three-Cheese Lasagna Soup Is Pure Comfort Food

The new Three-Cheese Lasagna Soup features Italian-style sausage, lasagna ribbon pasta and Parmesan in a ricotta-tomato broth and topped with Asiago cheese. It had plenty of tomato flavor, but what I liked most was the spice that kicked in toward the end of each bite. The noodles were tender, and the pasta, sausage and cheese made the bowl filling enough for lunch.

I ordered a bowl with Panera’s baguette on the side, and I’d recommend doing the same. It was perfect for dipping into the tomato-rich broth and soaking up whatever was left at the bottom. I finished feeling satisfied without being overly full, and I’d definitely order this one again when I’m craving soup.

The Cinnamon Croissant Bites Are Made for a Sweet Tooth

The Cinnamon Croissant Bites come topped with plenty of Panera’s cinnamon crunch topping and a side of icing for dipping. The outside was flaky while the center stayed soft, and each bite had plenty of cinnamon and sugar.

They’re already pretty sweet on their own, so I only used a little of the icing rather than coating every bite. I could see these being a hit with kids or anyone who loves a sugary breakfast treat, but they probably wouldn’t be my first choice from Panera’s bakery case. One word of warning: They’re flaky and a little messy, so I’d save these for when you’re eating at a table rather than attempting them in the car.

The PB&J Cookie Was My Favorite

The PB&J Cookie was the new item I was most excited to try, and thankfully, it lived up to my expectations. It’s a soft peanut butter cookie filled with grape jelly and finished with a dusting of powdered sugar. Think of it almost like an Uncrustable in cookie form.

There was a generous amount of jelly in the center, so I got some in nearly every bite, and I liked the balance between the sweet filling and peanut butter flavor of the cookie. The cookie itself was soft but still firm enough to hold everything together without falling apart. It’s also big enough to share if you just want something sweet after a meal.

Of the three new items I tried, this is the one I’d be most likely to order again.

Final Thoughts

Panera’s fall menu has a little something for whatever you’re in the mood for, from a filling bowl of soup to something sweet with your coffee. With three new items plus several returning favorites, there’s a lot to choose from this fall at Panera.

Tensions within Selena Quintanilla’s family have gone public.

The late singer’s siblings, A.B. Quintanilla III and Suzette Quintanilla, have been trading conflicting statements on social media over an alleged legal dispute.

The drama began Tuesday, September 1 when A.B. announced on Instagram that “there is a lawsuit related to Suzette Arriaga,” as well as circumstances involving their father, Abraham Quintanilla Jr., who died in December 2025.

According to A.B., the situation developed over “years of accumulated situations, decisions and circumstances” that he previously kept private because they involved family.

“There are facts. There is evidence. There are circumstances. And there is much that is still unknown,” he wrote, promising to eventually explain what led him to take legal action.

The following day, Suzette and the siblings’ mother, Marcella Quintanilla, issued a lengthy response on Instagram challenging A.B.’s characterization of the situation.

“Suzette has never been served with any lawsuit,” they wrote in the two page statement, adding that they had been unable to locate a corresponding publicly filed case. They also explicitly denied apparent insinuations of financial misconduct, stating, “There was no theft by Suzette.”

They further denied that Suzette plans to sell Selena’s personal belongings, explaining that any possible sale of an ownership interest in a company would be a separate matter. Billboard similarly reported finding no publicly available case matching A.B.’s description after searching multiple state and federal court systems.

Despite their increasingly public disagreement, Suzette and Marcella ended their own statement with love. “We love A.B.,” they wrote. “He is our son and brother.”

A.B. Quintanilla says he has proof

A.B. quickly responded in a second post, declaring in red text at the top of the statement, “I DON’T LIE.”

He claimed Suzette and her attorneys had received documents by certified and electronic mail concerning her alleged fiduciary duties and said requested contracts, financial records and other documentation had not been provided.

He included a heavily redacted document, which appeared to be a cease-and-desist letter, which is distinct from a court-filed lawsuit.

Fans were quick to chime in on the drama in the comments.

“I think this should be handle privately,” one person wrote.

“Refusing to present documents like Yolanda Saldivar? “ a second said.

A third said, “This whole situation is so sad.”

For now, exactly what the dispute involves (and whether a lawsuit has actually been filed) remains unclear.

A.B. says more answers are coming soon. He announced that his attorney will speak publicly on Friday, September 4, promising that “many things will be made clear.”

Starbucks Shares Preview of Its New It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown-Inspired Merch Ahead of 60th Anniversary

Although the Peanuts-inspired collection—which is also said to feature 10 items in total—hasn’t officially rolled out yet, Starbucks previewed it to grand applause on Thursday, Sept. 3, joking in the caption of its Instagram post that the collection is just “a little something to put your pumpkin spice in.”

A devastating loss has shaken Mexico’s music community.

Jonathan Meléndez, keyboardist for the indie rock band Camilo Séptimo, was found dead alongside members of his family at their home outside Mexico City, CNN reported.

Authorities discovered four people dead inside an apartment building in Atizapán de Zaragoza late Tuesday, September 1, according to a statement from the State of Mexico Prosecutor’s Office. Jonathan’s young son survived the attack — making him the sole survivor of the family.

Jonathan, 38, was identified by multiple outlets, including CNN and Billboard, as one of the victims. His wife, Ana Paula, their 3-year-old daughter, Sofia, and the family’s nanny, Aleida Romero Victorio, were also found dead inside the residence.

Paula, 35, was reportedly four months pregnant at the time.

The couple’s 6-year-old son survived after hiding beneath blankets during the attack, according to reports.

Authorities believe the murders occurred Tuesday evening, hours before the bodies were discovered shortly before midnight. Investigators have arrested two men in connection with the case. According to CNN, prosecutors identified one as Diego Sebastian “N,” described as an associate of Jonathan, and another as Gerardo “N.”

The New York Post reported that Mexico’s Secretary of Security, Omar Hamid García Harfuch, said one suspect “exploited the relationship of trust to enter the residence.” Investigators have reportedly ruled out robbery as a likely motive because the home did not appear to have been ransacked.

Camilo Séptimo mourned Jonathan in a statement following news of his death. “We will always remember him with immense love and gratitude,” the group said.

“Today we honor and celebrate his life, his music, his light and what we shared with those of us who were lucky enough to know him and make his way with him.”

The band also thanked the State of Mexico Prosecutor’s Office for its “effort and professional work” in investigating the case. “In memory of Honas, his wife Ana Paula, and his beloved daughter, who will live forever in our hearts,” the group concluded.

Billboard reports that Jonathan helped form Camilo Séptimo with singer Manuel Mendoza and guitarist Erik Vázquez in 2013, building a career with the Mexican indie group that lasted more than a decade. This is an ongoing investigation.

According to the National Home Education Research Institute, there are more than 3 million homeschool students (and counting) in the United States.

Despite the number of parents choosing to educate their kids at home, Teen Mom alum Jenelle Evans is facing criticism for recently enrolling her two youngest children, Ensley and Kaiser, in online school.

In a video she uploaded to Instagram, Evans defended her decision to homeschool her kids and revealed an underlying health issue, as well as bullying, made it the right choice for her family. She also reassured her followers she was not the teacher, but “just put them on the computer.”

“So, there are many different reasons why the kids are being homeschooled, and one of the reasons why was Kaiser was having a really hard time being bullied at school,” the mother-of-three explained. “As soon as he got into this school, it was bullying once again, mainly having to do with his weight.”

She continued, “Now, another reason they are being homeschooled is because I was diagnosed with CRPS, so I literally can not drive them to and from school because I am in too much pain, and their school was 40 minutes there and back in the morning and afternoon.”

To prove to her fans that she was fully capable of managing homeschooling, she also shared a video poolside helping her daughter with an online assignment.

However, people have very mixed feelings in the comments about the schooling situation, especially after Evans revealed her kids were getting their work done in less than two hours.

“Bullying can impact a child so deeply, and you’re doing an amazing job protecting your kiddos and giving them a safe, loving environment to learn and grow. Keep going girl…you’re doing a great job homeschooling your children,” one person wrote. Another disagreed, adding, “Oh my God. She doesn’t even have a high school diploma, for God’s sake”

A third chimed in, “Ever heard of a school bus?”

Evans is also a mom to her 17-year-old son, Jace, who entered a mental health facility in March 2026 for specialized care. He is currently living with Evans’ mother, Barbara.

Amelia, who started Chicken Shop Date in 2011 when she was just 17, has evolved into a massive internet sensation. The interview web series, which takes place in chicken shops throughout London, has Dimoldenberg interviewing celebrities in a deadpan, intentionally awkward format, positioned as a “date.”

In the Instagram post sharing the bittersweet news, Dimoldenberg admitted that she never saw herself ending the series, but she now felt it was time to try something different.

“I never thought I’d stop Chicken Shop Date, I thought maybe it would be a part of me forever, and in some way it always will, but I feel like it’s now time to move on from this adventure and onto a new one,” wrote Dimoldenberg in the caption of the Instagram post. “But before I say goodbye forever, I want to celebrate everything Chicken Shop Date has been for me with a few final dates…coming very soon.”

In the comments, fans reacted to the news, both devastated at its ending and sharing words of encouragement and gratitude for the YouTube star.

“hey so, I actually can’t handle this information rn,” lamented one sad fan in a comment.

“You accomplished something so incredible, truly. Cannot wait to see what’s next ❤️ thanks for some of the best internet videos to watch again and again!” wrote another commenter on the post.

Eileen Gu, the freestyle skiing star known in China by the nickname “Snow Princess,” is celebrating her 23rd birthday after another record-setting year that added to her Olympic legacy.

Gu, also known by her Chinese name Gu Ailing, has won three Olympic gold medals and three silver medals, making her the most decorated freestyle skier in Olympic history. Her latest Olympic campaign came at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Games, where she won gold in women’s halfpipe and silver medals in big air and slopestyle.

The three medals she earned in Italy added to the three medals she won at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. Her Olympic record now includes a medal in each of the six individual events she has entered.

Gu’s birthday comes at a major point in her career. At 23, she has already built a resume that includes Olympic titles, World Championship gold medals and recognition beyond skiing.

Gu first became a major Olympic name at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.

At just 18 years old, she won gold in women’s big air and women’s halfpipe, along with a silver medal in slopestyle. The results made her the first freestyle skier to win three medals at a single Winter Olympics.

Four years later, Gu returned to the Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina and again reached the podium in all three women’s freestyle skiing events.

She successfully defended her halfpipe title by posting a top score of 94.75 in the final. China’s Li Fanghui finished second with 93.00, while Great Britain’s Zoe Atkin took bronze with 92.50.

Gu was born on Sept. 3, 2003, in San Francisco, California. She was raised by her Chinese mother, Yan Gu, and spent her childhood between California and Beijing.

She started skiing in Lake Tahoe at age three. At eight, she joined the Northstar California Resort free-ski team, and by nine, she had won her first national championship.

Gu initially competed for the United States before changing her sporting affiliation to China in 2019. She later represented China at the 2022 Beijing Olympics.

When she announced the change, Gu said she hoped skiing could help her “inspire millions of young people” in China and help bring people and nations closer together.

Her connection with China made her hugely popular there. She became known on Chinese social media as the “Snow Princess,” according to BBC.

Gu has also spoken openly about her connection to both countries.

In a 2020 ESPN interview, she said: “Since I was little, I’ve always said when I’m in the U.S., I’m American, but when I’m in China, I’m Chinese.”

Her dual cultural identity has remained a major part of the public discussion around her career, especially because she was born and raised in the United States but competes for China.

Gu’s success has not come only from physical training. She has also talked about the mental approach she uses when preparing for major competitions.

In a recent appearance on Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast, per Business Insider, Gu explained the difference between how she approaches training and competition.

“I train like I’ve never won, and I compete like I’ve never lost,” she said.

Gu explained that the mindset helps her remain hungry even after winning major events.

“The second thing is it keeps you hungry, and that’s what allows you to perform over time,” Gu said.

She also described competition as a time when she completely changes her mindset.

“And I’m like, ‘I am the best person who has ever stepped foot here. Nobody’s even going to touch me. Everyone’s competing for second,’” Gu said.

She called this her competition alter ego and said separating that mindset from her training mindset helps protect her from becoming overly confident.

Away from competition, Gu has also stressed the importance of sleep and recovery. She said she has slept for about 10 hours every night since childhood.

“My secret weapon is that since childhood, I have every night had 10 hours of sleep. That’s how I grew up,” she said.

She has also said that competing in three events can be emotionally tiring because of the highs and lows that come with competition.

For her 23rd birthday, Gu’s career already includes achievements that many athletes spend an entire lifetime trying to reach.

Haley Thogmartin had a rough night. Of course, if you were to ask the telemedicine executive, she would extend that descriptor to her entire 53-day run in the Big Brother house, an up-and-down journey that had her going from a majority alliance running the house to an outsider and perrennial nominee. By the time she was transported back to the year 1000, she was prepared, much like the medical trend at the time, to be a leech, an extension of the “icons” running the game. Unfortunately, a never-before-seen twist went medieval on her game, leading to her instant elimination.

While Haley would later claim how tough she had it in the first few weeks, from the outside looking in, things looked rather cushy. She immediately clicked with Chuk Anyanwu and Kamu Kirk, and that contingent was soon brought into the five-person “Red Corner” alliance, followed by the eight-person “Toolshed” alliance. That safety allowed the plaid lover to make some remarks as cutting as a lumberjack’s axe, which earned her the ire of those outside her group. And she was eager to get her licks in on said people when she won HoH. The nominees and targets under Haley’s reign shifted throughout the week, from Taylor Brown to Drew Campbell to Melody Morris. She had no idea, however, there was another option on the table in the mind of her allies: Lyric Medeiros. Fearing the lawyer would rule in favor of the Haley/Chuk/Kamu trio, Dee Valladares and Rick Devens assembled a vote flip mere hours before the eviction. Lyric’s elimination changed the tune of the season, as one of the game’s first alliances suddenly found themselves left in the dark on their own HoH.

“Thog” felt dogged by the vote, to put it mildly. Chaos and confusion turned to abject anger when Angela Murray, feeling guilty for lying to Haley, came clean about being part of the flip. But the response was far from sympathetic. Reeling from the shock, Haley was soon brought into a group conversation, where she accused Angela of throwing Dee under the bus. She soon learned, however, when you mess with the egg, there’s “shell” to pay. Angela flew into a frenzy, blowing up on Haley mere hours after her tearful confession. And the tension continued outside of the gym, as LaTrice “Lala” Verrett got into another confrontation with her, accusing her of “ugly” behavior. In a matter of 24 hours, Haley had realized how much the peptides had turned in the house.

It didn’t take long before Haley went from crem de la crem to persona non grata. She and Chuk became the new targets, as her Block Buster victory came with the bittersweet cost of losing her best friend in the house. And Kamu, formerly one of her closest allies, was suddenly put in submission when Devens used his Diamond Power of Veto. But, while other people saw a lone wolf, the icons saw opportunity. When Dee kept Haley off the block in favor of Mallory Aurichio, it seemed that she had a deep run as a number for the reality TV vets. But her hopeful future was cut short thousands of years in the past. Tasked with surviving the night through a series of competitions, Dee put Haley in the line of fire from the jump, hoping to give her multiple opportunities to win safety. Unfortunately, all of those opportunities ended in failure, as she lost bout after bout. In the end, Yash Patel won the proverbial joust, knocking Haley off her high horse and out of the house.

Now out of the house, Haley talks with Parade about her comments about her “rough weeks” in the house, whether she would have stayed loyal to the icons if she stayed in the game, and how she looks back on her confrontations with Lala and Taylor.

Haley, I have to start by asking, how rough has your week been?
My week’s been perfect!

I’m glad to hear that! Let’s start with where things ended. What was your reaction when you saw Barrett sent Yash and Lala into the final battle against you?
I was surprised. Because I thought Barrett and I were on the same side. Obviously, from the previous conversations we had, it seemed like it was mapped out of what we were doing. But I was surprised to see Yash come out.

What’s your overall opinion on the twist that eliminated you? Did you feel it was fair?
Well, I mean, the first thing being said is “expect the unexpected.” It is what it is. I obviously would rather have gone out the traditional way. However, I thought I fought hard. I played hard. I didn’t give up, but it just didn’t go my way.

As I alluded to earlier, you were vocal to both your fellow houseguests and us about how rough you felt you had it. And, while that makes sense towards the latter part of your game when you were being nominated, can you clarify why you felt that way in the first few weeks?
So it had nothing to do with the game. It was all personal. I took a lot of things personally. Mentally, physically, emotionally, I just felt like I was very overwhelmed. I don’t feel like I mentally prepared myself coming in of how much that would feel. So it had nothing to do with the game. But I again I do understand on the outside that, “Oh I wasn’t on the block.” However it just it was all personal. I do own the words that I said.

How do you look back on saying that to people inside the house? Melody and Mallory, for instance, took umbrage with those comments, considering they felt they were fighting for their lives the first few weeks by comparison. Not to mention the comments Melody heard you were also making about her and her body.
Well I mean, I never had those personal conversations of why that was going on. And again, I didn’t make a whole bunch of personal connections, minus the five people I was truly, truly working with. And I really don’t love to share a lot either. I tried to act as strong as I could. That’s something I’ve done my whole life. You just have to be strong. You deal with it. But again, it had nothing to do with the game. It was all personal, and it was my own personal.

You mention the five people you were working with. And obviously that takes a turn when the icons orchestrate the vote flip against Lyric, a shock that we clearly saw across your face. Talk me through how you reconciled all the confusion that unfolded after that.
Oh, I was just shocked. I was so shocked because I tried to give Lyric as much reassurance as possible. I had five people telling me that they voted, and there were only three people. I truly never, hands down, ever thought that it was going to be Angela. She was my glue. She was really my rock in the house. And then I knew Chuk wasn’t lying to me, so I was like, “Okay, Chuk really, really, really loved this girl. They had a great relationship too.”

And then I wanted to trust Kamu. But how Kamu kind of had acted a little bit, I was just kind of like, “Dang, I don’t know”. But I think he thought that I had flipped, and so I see why he was hurt looking back and sitting in those situations with him the couple days. But I was shocked. I really was. But to have five people say that they did it, and then trying to figure out who it was, how do you move forward when you knew that somebody lied?

On that note, Angela does come clean to you that she lied about her vote. And it led to this group conversation in the gym where you accuse her of throwing Dee under the bus, which leads to her blowing up on you. What was going through your head as that was happening, especially considering how close you were?
I knew she was upset, and honestly, I even said, “Do you want to talk outside?” And she didn’t. All I said was, “You told me to trust my gut.” I had gotten that feeling from when we we were talking on the balcony when she had said, “Are you talking to both of us? You’re just talking to me.” And so there was a couple other weird things, but I knew she was only close with Dee in the house, and it was very evident that it was me and Dee that were close with her. And so when she kind of said, “I’m not willing to throw out their game,” I was like, “Okay, I get it, I see it.” And then the way that Dee had kind of acted a little bit too, like, “Let’s just get over it, move on with it.”

I mean, I hated seeing her that upset. Again, she was my absolute glue. She was my rock there, and I knew it was heating up. But at that point, you had a lot of people talking. So when she said the words that she did, I just sat there. I didn’t want to escalate it more. I wanted to talk to her in private. I just wanted to give it a couple days because that was really heated. But I love her to death. I still love her. Obviously it was upsetting how that happened, but I think she’s an incredible person.

Shortly after that, you got into another confrontation with Lala in the kitchen. And, days later, when she tried to apologize for it, you said, “I accept your apology, but it was straight bullying me all week. When we watch this back, I feel bad for you in this instance because it does look like you bullied me a lot.” Can you clarify what you meant by that?
So there was a couple conversations I don’t really think were shown. A lot of things that were exchanged that just really hurt my feelings. Again, I took a lot of it personal. And it was also super early in the morning, and we had just woken up. We were up late that night, and I just really wasn’t having it. It didn’t feel like a sincere apology, and I just tried to get out of the conversation. But I don’t think she is a bully. I really, truly think she’s incredible person. I think a lot of things are just heightened in the house, and it kind of gets the best of us at times, even myself. And so I wish I could go back in that conversation, Absolutely.

I want to talk about another tense situation that happened with Taylor. You had gotten into an argument with her after overhearing your name during an argument she had with Angela. The next day, she asked you to have a “difficult conversation” around a heavy subject she said hurt her feelings. You then replied that you weren’t a drama person and that you didn’t want to be made to feel bad. Why did you have such an adverse reaction to the conversation she was suggesting?
Well, she had called me that night from the terrace and said, “Haley, get up here,” and I just said no. No, I wasn’t going up there! And in the conversation, again, a lot of emotions were going on. There was just a going and bouncing. And so I just wanted to get to the point where I just wanted to just sit and chill and relax and kind of go through the thoughts on my own and articulate what exactly happened, you know. And again, I should not have stepped into that conversation. I shouldn’t have. I was getting ready to go to bed. I was almost in bed every night by 9:00, knowing we got to go to bed at 10. So I was overhearing it. I kept hearing my name and, “Get her in there. “And by the time I figured out what we were actually arguing about, I was like, “I messed up. I shouldn’t have came in here.” I inserted myself, and then I had walked out.

But that specific conversation with Taylor, I had just got done working out. I just had to overhear again with the Angela/Taylor conversation. It was lengthy, and it was hard to hear too with some of the stuff that was said, just because it’s like I could see the hurt on Taylor, I could see the hurt on Angela. And just to keep having more heavier conversations that day, I just really wasn’t wanting to. And so once I heard the other things, again, I’m incredibly apologetic. I would never, ever, ever, ever, ever want anyone to ever feel that way. And again, I’m truly sorry. I hope that I can talk to her after this, and explain, and just apologize again.

You spoke a number of times about how you felt out on an island, and with no formal alliances. If you had continued in the game, who would you have wanted to work with? Were you eyeing anyone in particular you wanted to sit in the end with?
I was. I came into the game wanting to be loyal to the people that were loyal to me. And once I said I was sticking true to it, I was gonna stay true to it. And I made amends with Angela and Dee. I know that they flipped, but at that point, you can’t move through the game and just hold on to a lot of resentment. And I still didn’t really feel that connected with the other end; there was always just a lot of ups and downs. And so I wanted to stay true to the icons too because they really had my back, even after the flip and stuff. So I wanted to stay true to them.

Finally, give your rapid-fire thoughts on each of the remaining houseguests. Starting with Angela.

Jenni “JWoww” Farley revealed she was hospitalized on her kids’ first day back to school.

“Not the ‘first day of school’ picture I wanted to post… but then again, I guess we wouldn’t have one,” she shared alongside photos from her hospital room on Thursday, September 3. “This past week has probably been one of the hardest weeks of my life. I’ve spent every day fighting to get healthy enough to get home to my family while dealing with a horrible kidney infection and appendicitis.”

She added that she had been experiencing symptoms for months, including weight loss, and exhaustion.

“Then last Friday, my body finally said, ‘We aren’t making it like this anymore,” she wrote. “I cannot say enough about the incredible hospital team taking care of me and doing everything they could to get me healthy enough to have this moment with my kids.”

Farley’s Jersey Shore: Family Vacation castmates all sent their love and well-wishes in the comments.

“Oh my mama i love you,” Snooki wrote.

Vinny Guadagnino simply wrote, “Feel better 😢”

Sammi Giancola added, “Feel better soon, sending you speedy recovery vibes! Have a wonderful year Meilani & Grey!”

“Sending prayers of positive energy & healing ❤️‍🩹 love you and the family,” Mike Sorrentino added.

The tributes have started pouring in for Gloria Steinem, who passed away on September 2, 2026, at the age of 92.

Among those paying homage to the late feminist activist and journalist is the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle.

Markle worked alongside Steinem for years and appeared together at several public events before her death. In an emotional Instagram post, Markle reflected on their friendship and the gift she has to remind her of Steinem’s impact.

“Celebrating the life and legacy of my friend and mentor, Gloria Steinem, and also grateful to know that in these last few weeks and days she knew exactly how loved and admired she was,” she wrote. “You all know her many accolades and the way in which she helped shape the world for women and all people — ‘we are linked, not ranked’ she would tell me, and the bracelet she gave me said exactly that. I still wear it with pride.”

She went on to share that Steinem had spent Thanksgiving with her family, including her husband Prince Harry and their kids, as well as “giving her advice” during difficult times.

Markle ended her tribute by also revealing the sweet nickname she had for Steinem, and her favorite memory.

“But my very favorite story about GLO is when she was out one day in NY, and a woman approached her in absolute awe and said she wanted to introduce her young daughter to her (though she was embarrassed to say the young girl may not know who she was),” she added. “Gloria replied: ‘It doesn’t matter if she knows who I am. What matters is that she knows who SHE is.'”

Markel and Prince Harry paid a visit to Steinem in October 2025 at her historic brownstone in New York City after accepting an honor at the World Mental Health Day Gala. The friends can be seen embracing in a video montage Markle shared of the trip on social media.

The Rolling Stones released a track in 1969 that helped make their mark on a more pop sound, with lyrics that tackled major topics of the era, from love, politics, and drugs, to become a rock staple.

“You Can’t Always Get What You Want” was released as part of the band’s Let It Bleed album, with their iconic track “Honky Tonk Women” serving as the A-side. The track pulled out all the stops as the album’s ending track, with the use of an organ, French horn, congas, maracas, tambourines, and a choir.

Mick Jagger and Keith Richards developed the track, with the singer having called it a “bedroom song” that he created on an acoustic guitar.

Like most Rolling Stones songs, Jagger and the rest of the band came up with complex and out-of-the-box compositions. Jagger once commented that the track was difficult to record because of how he wanted the drums to sound and his desire for a choir.

“It proved to be quite difficult to record because Charlie couldn’t play the groove, and so Jimmy Miller had to play the drums. I’d also had this idea of having a choir, probably a gospel choir, on the track, but there wasn’t one around at that point. Jack Nitzsche, or somebody, said that we could get the London Bach Choir, and we said, ‘That will be a laugh,'” he said.

The inspiration and its creation are also something to marvel at. According to SongFacts, the band was performing in Excelsior, Minnesota, on their first U.S. tour in 1964 that didn’t go well. Jagger went to a local drugstore to purchase a Cherry Coke, but the store didn’t have any. Someone named Mr. Jimmy, who was standing behind the rocker, said, “Well, you can’t always get what you want.”

The mystery behind Mr. Jimmy is also part of the lore behind the track. Jagger referenced Mr. Jimmy in “You Can’t Always Get What You Want,” with many speculating it was in reference to their producer at the time.

Other stories reveal Mr. Jimmy is actually Jimmy Hutmaker, a local character in Excelsior who would wander the business district. The area was known as a trendy artists’ community, with Hutmaker often cared for by the local businesses. Some rumors even say that Jagger had him picked up in a limo to go see them perform.

Marianne Faithfull, Jagger’s then-girlfriend, also once claimed the song’s themes of drug use were based on her own. She explained knowing “they used me as a muse for those tough drug songs,” and that it was for a “worthy cause.” Believe it or not, upon its release, the track failed to enter the charts. It wasn’t until London Records reissued it in 1973 that it went to No. 42 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Supplement stacking, fiber maxxing and the carnivore diet are just a few of the many diet trends people on social media can’t stop talking about. That’s on top of the diets that have been making waves for a while, like intermittent fasting, the keto diet, Paleo diet and intuitive eating.

With so many different, conflicting opinions about what it means to eat healthy, it’s hard to know what advice is actually worth following. If one of your goals is supporting your brain health as you age, the dietary advice you choose to follow is crucial. 

Some diets have been scientifically shown to lower the risk of dementia. For example, the MIND diet (a mashup of the Mediterranean diet and the DASH diet) has been scientifically shown to slow the rate of cognitive decline by as much as 53%. In one study, those who followed the diet had brain function equivalent to someone 7.5 years younger compared to those who didn’t follow the MIND diet. That’s pretty profound.

Of course, there is a lot of lousy diet advice out there too, including one diet trend that neurologists we talked to wish everyone would avoid.

The Diet Trend That’s Bad for Your Brain, According to Neurologists

According to Dr. William Scott Burgin, MD, a professor of neurology and stroke division chief at the University of South Florida and the chief medical officer of NeuroEM, the absolute worst foods for the brain are ultra-processed foods. 

Maybe you already knew that and do your best to minimize consumption of foods like candy, packaged pastries and deli meat. But even health-conscious people can be fooled and deceived into eating foods that are branded as healthy, yet just as bad for the brain as the candy you’ll find in the checkout aisle. Some examples: protein bars, granola bars, flavored yogurt and store-bought smoothies. All of these foods sound healthy, but can actually be high in added sugar or artificial sweeteners.

Dr. Burgin explains that ultra-processed foods are typically high in either sugar or sodium, both of which are associated with a higher risk of dementia. To this point, a study of 789 older adults published in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease found that those who ate sugary foods regularly were twice as likely to get dementia compared to those who didn’t eat sugary foods regularly. And a 2020 review published in the same journal found that a high-sodium diet was associated with hypertension and cardiovascular disease, both of which are linked to dementia.

While in general, it’s best to eat whole foods and not ultra-processed ones, Dr. Burgin notes that not all ultra-processed foods are unhealthy. “Interestingly, there are foods that get technically classified as ultra-processed, but are more likely neutral or may even be good for you, such as fortified whole grain cereals, dairy-based foods like [plain] yogurt and packaged breads and grain products,” he says.

With this in mind, it’s always a good idea to read the ingredients list and nutritional panel when deciding if a packaged food is truly nutritious or not. If it’s high in added sugar or sodium, that’s a sure sign that it isn’t.

How To Support Your Brain Through What You Eat

While it’s important to watch your sugar and sodium intake if you want to support your brain, that doesn’t mean you can never enjoy salty chips or a bowl of ice cream. “A cookie every now and then is not a problem,” Dr. Burgin emphasizes. It’s what your diet looks like the majority of the time that matters most, not the foods you only eat once in a while.

Dr. James Bateman, MD, MPH, a behavioral neurologist at VCU Health, agrees. “Too much sugar is bad, but avoiding anything sweet if you enjoy a treat occasionally is ill-advised, given the relatively small impact overall,” he says.

Dr. Bateman also points out that food isn’t solely about nutrition. “Humans consume food for a variety of social, cultural and nutritional reasons, and it is important to consider all of these in helping people arrive at a diet that supports happiness and brain health,” he tells Parade. 

The goal, both neurologists say, is to minimize consumption of ultra-processed foods and focus on eating primarily whole foods. Both neurologists are big proponents of the MIND diet, which, as mentioned earlier, has been scientifically shown to slow cognitive decline and reduce the risk of dementia. 

Certain nutrients are especially crucial for brain health, and it’s important to get enough of them. “Vitamin B, including B6, B9 and B12, supports homocysteine regulation, high levels of which correlate with dementia,” Dr. Burgin says, adding that magnesium and omega-3 fatty acids are two other nutrients that support cognitive health.

“I also recommend antioxidant-rich foods, including blueberries, strawberries, dark leafy greens and dark chocolate to combat oxidative stress linked to cognitive decline,” Dr. Burgin says. He adds that polyphenols found in turmeric, green tea and cocoa are also important, explaining, “Curcumin in turmeric may reduce amyloid plaques [linked to dementia] and EGCG in green tea enhances neurogenesis [the formation of new neurons].”

Other Neurologist-Recommended Ways To Support Your Brain

Diet is only one habit that impacts brain health. Dr. Burgin explains that aerobic exercise is also important, revealing, “This form of exercise increases brain-derived neurotrophic factor, or BDNF, which supports neuron growth and memory.”

To this point, a scientific article published in Mayo Clinic Proceedings states that aerobic activity may reduce dementia risk. It references one study that found that one year of regular aerobic exercise in a large randomized controlled group of senior adults was associated with significantly larger hippocampal volumes and better spatial memory. That means exercise can literally make your brain larger.

Dr. Burgin says that resistance training is also important, and not just for maintaining muscle and bone density, noting that it’s also linked to improved executive function and slower cognitive decline.

If you want to stay mentally sharp, Dr. Burgin says it’s important to continue to learn new skills and stay cognitively stimulated. If you can learn new skills with others, even better. “Strong social ties lower dementia risk by stimulating cognitive resilience,” he explains. Additionally, having healthy ways to manage stress in place, such as meditation, is important. “Regular meditation practice increases gray matter density in the prefrontal cortex,” he says. 

Last, but certainly not least, Dr. Burgin notes that it’s important to consistently get enough sleep. He says that deep sleep, also known as slow-wave sleep, is especially important for transferring short-term memories into long-term storage. “Aim for between seven and nine hours of sleep each night,” he explains.

As you can see, there’s a lot you can do to maximize your brain health. While lowering the risk of dementia doesn’t come down to one singular habit, minimizing your consumption of ultra-processed foods is a great place to start. That means even before buying something labeled as healthy, such as a protein bar or store-bought smoothie, it’s best to read the label and make the decision for yourself.
