Before Maya Hawke made a name for herself in Stranger Things as Robin Buckley, she got her acting debut in a series based on an iconic classic novel, Little Women. Now fans have weeks left to watch the show on Netflix.

Based on the Louisa May Alcott novel of the same name, the BBC/PBS Masterpiece miniseries was added under a licensing agreement on Nov. 1, 2025, and now that agreement is coming to an end. All three episodes are leaving Netflix on Nov. 1, 2026, which makes Oct. 31 the last day you can watch them all. The great news is that as there are just three episodes, it’s the perfect weekend binge.

Hawke played Jo March, landing the role while she was attending Juilliard. In fact, she dropped out of the prestigious school after landing the role, with filming taking place in County Wicklow, Ireland, despite the story being set in Concord, Massachusetts. Her performance immediately captured the eye of Hollywood casting directors, leading to her Stranger Things fame.

She was joined by other future A-list celebrities, including Kathryn Newton, Willa Fitzgerald, and Jonah Hauer-King. It also included formidable actors, including Michael Gambon and Angela Lansbury, and it was adapted by Heidi Thomas, who is best known for creating Call the Midwife.

Little Women is a story about the March sisters, Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy. Set during the American Civil War, the sisters live in genteel poverty due to their father serving as a wartime chaplain, but it doesn’t stop them from living their dreams. The story takes them through young womanhood, pursuing passion, ambition, and their own happiness, although that also brings heartache and grief.

At the heart of the story is compassion. The sisters learn the values of family loyalty and self-sacrifice. It’s a timeless story that was based on some truth, with the four sisters being based on Alcott’s own life and her sisters. At first, Alcott didn’t intend to write a story about women and for women, but her own family needed the money, and so she created the fictionalized story of her own upbringing.

There is plenty of time to watch the three-episode miniseries before it leaves the streamer on Nov. 1.

Authorities in Scottsdale, Arizona are blaming the weather on a freak accident that killed a tourist on Friday, October 16. Rogério Renato Mateucci, 55, was struck by flying debris from the roof during a group walking tour of Frank Lloyd Wright‘s historic Taliesin West home.

Scottsdale police spokesperson Aaron Bolin told The Fresno Bee that debris from the roof was shaken loose due by strong wind gusts and that Mateucci, a beloved university president from Brazil, was killed instantly when a piece struck him in the head. First responders pronounced him dead at the scene.

Mateucci, the rector at Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná, was visiting the famed home while in Scottsdale to participate in meetings at Arizona State University, alongside 40 other private university leaders. ASU spokesperson Jerry Gonzalez told the outlet that after the meetings ended on Friday, Mateucci went sightseeing with others at Taliesin West.

Vidal Martins, a colleague of Mateucci’s who was in town but did not take part in the tour, told The Fresno Bee that he learned of the tragedy from a co-worker who was at the scene. She called him frantically, explaining that Mateucci was bleeding heavily, but five minutes later, he said, she called back to say that efforts to save him had failed.

Martins told The Arizona Republic that the acrylic material hit Mateucci, at a “velocity” so “great” that he had no time to duck out of the way and that they believe his death was “instantaneous.”

Brazilian outlet g1 PR reported that though an investigation is ongoing, police are treating the incident “an accident related to weather conditions.” Authorities say wind gusts of up to 32 miles per hour were measured in the area on Friday.

Taliesin West has closed to the public indefinitely, according to The Modesto Bee. Wright, among the most celebrated architects in American history, established the site as his winter home in 1938 studio. The National Historic Landmark attracts over 100,000 visitors per year.

Quarterfish found themselves with a hit in the 1980’s, but the band found success with the previous track once changing it to a power ballad under a new band name.

No one expected “Harden My Heart” to climb the charts to No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 when Quarterfish re-released it as a power ballad on their self-titled debut album in 1981. This was because the track had already made the rounds at the start of the ’80s under Quarterfish’s predecessor band, Seafood Mama.

Seafood Mama broke up at the start of 1980, with married couple Marvin “Marv” Ross and  Sue “Rindy” Ross moving ahead with working on a new album with no band or band name. The album took over a year to record as the couple found new band members and came up with Quarterfish thanks to a book of Australian slang words. Their band name was in reference to how newcomers were called “one quarter flash and three parts stupid”.

“Harden My Heart” was written by Marv with no real backstory or truth behind the story told in its lyrics. Rindy sings about finding the strength and courage to leave her partner, becoming determined not to become “squishy” about it.

According to an interview with Rediscovery the ’80s, the song’s story was completely made up, and a friend gave him the title.

“A friend of mine gave me the title. I came up with the lyrics very quickly. The title came first, and I don’t really remember how the rest came about. I usually write the music and words simultaneously. It wasn’t a personal story – just made it up,” he explained.

The original track was recorded in a basement in Portland and sold thousands of copies. It also became a big reason why they were signed to Geffen Records.

“The chords are simple but voiced so as to make it sound more complex than it is. The whole song is really the groove which we called a shuffle in those days. Rindy came up with the sax line. The whole thing was written in less than a week and recorded in our basement for the Seafood Mama version,” said Marv.

The power ballad version of “Harden My Heart” was re-recorded at Record Plant in Los Angeles, with Marv once commenting that it had a better guitar solo and sound quality. Rindy’s saxophone solo also contributed to its star power and popularity, as well as her being one of the rare few female lead singers at the time.

“The sax parts usually come last. Sometimes I have a vague idea of a melody that Rindy refines, but usually it’s her creation, her melody. She has a gift for coming up with hooky, powerful sax lines,” said the songwriter.

When it comes to power ballads, Louder Sound included “Harden My Heart” on its list of greats that were the “most heart-stirring” and “most life-affirming” of all time.

Tim McGraw was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame — but it was his appearance that had fans talking.

The “Live Like You Were Dying” artist, 59, posed on the red carpet with wife Faith Hill and their daughters, Gracie and Maggie, on Sunday, October 18. He donned a dark red suit with a black bowtie and matching cowboy hat and was moved to tears while accepting his award.

“There are not enough words in my vocabulary to express the emotions during the HOF ceremony last night. The first word that comes to mind is gratitude. I am so grateful for country music and what it has given me in my life,” McGraw shared via Instagram. “Everything good in my life has come from this music we all love. I am so incredibly proud of my family, my team and my friends old and new who were on hand to celebrate the incredible experience of last night.”

He continued, “And to top it off to have Randy Owen of Alabama to be the one to induct me and put the medallion around my neck. To hear Parker McCollum, Lady A and Lainey Wilson sing my songs, I am forever thankful to them. And most importantly, to you guys, the fans. Without ya’ll, it wouldn’t even exist. So much to say. So many thank yous, so many I love yous, that I owe so many folks. I am so incredibly fortunate.”

However, fans could not help but point out McGraw’s crispy tan, as some used his own lyrics to call out the artist’s new look.

“Tim put on the self tanner and said I like it, I love it, I want some more of it,” one user commented via Instagram, quoting his 1995 hit.

“He is half Cherokee and Choctaw,” another wrote, a reference to McGraw’s 1994 song, “Indian Outlaw.”

The “Don’t Take the Girl” artist became the 159th member of the Country Music Hall of Fame.

It’s been a wild couple of years for Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil.

After suffering a major stroke on Christmas in 2024, Neil was told by doctors he might never walk again. Mötley Crüe was forced to postpone the Las Vegas residency they had scheduled for Spring 2025. But by September of that same year, Neil was back in business and the Crüe was onstage in Sin City. Now, the ’80s band has announced another Vegas residency, including eight shows at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in March and April of 2027.

The band is scheduled to play eight shows at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, beginning March 19 and ending April 3.

“Featuring stunning visuals and a fan-voted setlist of iconic hits — including songs returning to the stage for the first time in decades — this special limited run of performances promises to highlight the legendary bravado, spectacle, and high-voltage energy only Mötley Crüe can deliver,” a press release shared with Ultimate Classic Rock said.

Mötley Crüe’s S.I.N. Club and Citi card holders will have first crack at tickets in a presale beginning on Oct. 20; on Oct. 22, members of Caesars Rewards, Caesars Entertainment’s loyalty program and Live Nation customers will have access to another presale. Remaining tickets will go on sale Oct. 23.

As Neil explained during an appearance on SiriusXM’s Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk (per Blabbermouth), he didn’t initially realize he had a stroke when he woke up unable to move.

“It was Christmas night, and I went to sleep,” he recalled. “I woke up and I couldn’t get out of bed. I’m, like, ‘What’s going on?’ And my left leg wouldn’t work, and my left arm wouldn’t work. So I had to get help out of bed. I couldn’t push myself up to get myself comfortable in bed. And I had to have help. And slowly but surely, the sensation came back in my legs. And I had to learn to walk again.”

‘I went from a wheelchair to a walker to a cane to — I can walk now, but for five months it was just off and on, not knowing what’s gonna happen,” he continued.

“The doctor said that I probably wouldn’t be on stage again. And I was, like, ‘No, man. I can’t do that.’ And so I just tried. I worked my butt off to get back in shape to go on stage. And I was really sad to have to cancel those shows, but I just wasn’t ready yet. I wasn’t ready to be back on stage yet. It was really sad, but it’s really worth it now, ’cause I can get on stage and sing and all that good stuff.”

Two days after the death of US Airman Ian Patterson—who fell to his death before the UTSA football game on Saturday, October 17—a GoFundMe has been launched for his wife and children.

Patterson, 54, was attempting to rappel from the rafters during a demonstration in front of a stadium full of college football fans when he tragically fell to his death.

“On the evening of October 17th, what should have been a proud, patriotic, and fun experience turned into a horrific, earth-shattering event when my sister Niki Patterson and her family lost Ian Patterson in a manner no wife or child should ever have to experience,” the fundraiser states. “The details of Ian’s highly public and extremely traumatic death are still under investigation. Our hearts are broken for Niki and her two young boys following the tragic loss of Ian, a beloved husband and father whose life was taken far too soon.”

Ian and his wife, a stay-at-home mom, shared two young sons.

“Niki has dedicated herself to raising and caring for her family. Ian was their primary financial provider, and she is now facing the challenge of supporting her children while grieving the loss of her partner,” the GoFundMe continues.

The fundraiser, which has a goal of raising $70,000, explains that the funds will go towards easing “some of the financial burden of rebuilding a life without their husband and father.”

Patterson began his career as an Airman Basic in July 2011. He was a Tactical Air Control Party instructor assigned to the 6th Combat Training Squadron, Detachment 2, Joint Base San Antonio, Texas, according to Nellis Air Force Base.

“This tragedy is felt deeply across the 57th Wing,” said U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. Scott C. Mills, 57th Wing commander. “Tech. Sgt. Patterson and his service mattered immensely to our wing, and to the family, friends, and teammates who had the privilege of knowing and serving alongside him. Our team is now focused on standing beside Ian’s family, loved ones, and fellow Airmen as we navigate this profound loss together.”

As of publication, the GoFundMe has raised $50,000.

Find theme words to fill the board.

• Theme words stay highlighted in blue when found.
• Drag or tap letters to create words. If tapping, double-tap the last letter to submit.

Find the “spangram.”

• The spangram describes the puzzle’s theme and touches two opposite sides of the board. It may be two words.
• The spangram highlights in yellow when found.
• An example spangram with corresponding theme words: PEAR, FRUIT, BANANA, APPLE, etc.

Need a hint?

• Find non-theme words to get hints.
• For every three non-theme words you find, you earn a hint.

Jonathan Kelly, the entrepreneur behind the popular Squishmallows plush toys, has listed his Bel-Air mansion in Los Angeles for $37.995 million, three years after buying the property for $26 million in 2023.

The modern luxury home, located at 638 Siena Way, offers 16,849 square feet of living space across three levels. The eight-bedroom property sits above the fourth green of the Bel-Air Country Club and features an infinity pool, a home theater, a wine room and a podcast studio.

According to Homes of Celebs, Kelly bought the newly built mansion as an investment and has rented it out instead of living there. He is now looking to sell the property as the Los Angeles luxury real estate market stabilizes.

“It’s an asset, and it’s time to exit,” Kelly told Realtor, explaining his decision to put the house on the market.

The asking price is nearly $12 million higher than the amount he paid for the home in 2023. However, the listing price does not guarantee that the mansion will sell for that amount.

The property was originally listed for $47.5 million before Los Angeles introduced a new tax on high-priced home sales. Kelly purchased it for $26 million shortly before the tax took effect.

Designed by architect Zoltan Pali and completed in 2022, the mansion combines modern design with large glass walls, natural stone and warm wood finishes. Its layout also connects indoor living areas with outdoor terraces and the swimming pool.

Marc Noah of Sotheby’s International Realty is handling the listing. Noah said the home’s asking price could offer buyers an entry point into one of Los Angeles’ most expensive neighborhoods.

The Bel-Air estate spans three levels and measures about 16,849 square feet. Its eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms provide space for residents and guests, while its private amenities offer several options for relaxation and entertainment.

The home’s design makes use of large glass doors that open onto terraces and outdoor spaces. The central courtyard features an olive tree and connects to nearby rooms through folding glass doors.

Inside, the formal living room has a long fireplace built into a travertine stone wall. The dining area features a wood-paneled wall, a long dining table, and hanging lights. Glass doors beside the dining area open toward an outdoor terrace with views of the Bel-Air Country Club.

The kitchen includes a large island with a stone countertop and wood cabinets. A nearby breakfast nook has retractable glass walls that allow the space to open toward the terrace.

The house also has two primary bedroom suites on separate levels. One is located on the main floor beside the central courtyard, while the other sits on the pool level and opens directly toward the outdoor area.

Both suites feature large bathrooms, including double vanities and freestanding soaking tubs. The main-level suite also has sliding doors that lead to a private terrace.

The lower level contains several entertainment and wellness spaces. These include a home theater with rows of lounge seating, a bar and media lounge, a sauna, and a podcast studio.

Outside, the property has an infinity-edge swimming pool, a spa, an outdoor kitchen, and several lounge and dining areas. The elevated location provides views across the country club and toward the surrounding city.

Kelly’s wealth grew through his family’s toy business, Kelly Toys, which launched Squishmallows in 2017. The soft, marshmallow-like plush toys became widely popular during the COVID-19 pandemic, helped by attention on TikTok and other social media platforms.

The toys appealed to children and adult collectors, helping the brand grow beyond its early presence as prizes in claw machines and at fairs. Squishmallows later expanded into a much broader retail market.

The Kelly family sold the toy company in two transactions in 2020 and 2022 to Jazwares, a toy company owned by Berkshire Hathaway. The sales gave Kelly capital that he later used to purchase the Bel-Air property.

Kelly said he bought the mansion as an investment and never used it as his personal home. According to listing agent Marc Noah, the property has generated rental income, although neither Kelly nor Noah disclosed the exact amount.

The home was also advertised for rent in previous years. A reported rental listing on Zillow, per The Real Deal, placed the monthly asking price at $125,000, though that figure does not establish how much rent Kelly actually received.

The mansion is located on a street known for large estates with prices reaching nine figures. Developer Ardie Tavangarian has listed another eight-bedroom property in the area for $135 million. Nearby, the historic Casa Encantada estate recently sold for $130 million to a company linked to technology billionaire Peter Thiel.

The high-end Los Angeles housing market has faced changes following the introduction of the city’s mansion tax, which applies to qualifying property sales above $5 million. Noah said the tax slowed the luxury market but that buyers and sellers have gradually adjusted to it.

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concluded with record-breaking success, but the pop star had a special way of showing her appreciation not just for her crew but also for the 50 truck drivers who helped bring the massive production to life.

The singer-songwriter created a historic cultural and economic phenomenon with her sixth headlining concert tour, which spanned 149 shows across 51 cities and 21 countries.

Kicking off in Glendale, Arizona, on March 17, 2023, and concluding in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, on Dec. 8, 2024, the tour wrapped up with more than $2 billion in revenue and over 10 million tickets sold, making it the highest-grossing concert tour in music history.

According to reports, the “22” hitmaker gave her touring crew a total of $55 million in bonuses, including payments to riggers, dancers, sound technicians, catering staff and others who helped bring her massive show to life, as reported by People.

Among the recipients of Swift’s generous bonuses were about 50 truckers who transported her concert equipment across the United States during the massive tour.

TMZ, which first reported the bonuses, reported that each driver received a $100,000 bonus and received it on the eve of wrapping up the U.S. leg.

Michael Scherkenbach, the founder and CEO of Denver-based Shomotion, told CNN that the additional compensation was far higher than what truck drivers typically receive from performers.

“The typical amount is $5,000 to $10,000 each. So this large amount is unbelievable,” the founder said and even described it as a “life-changing” sum.

According to Scherkenbach, it was a well-deserved bonus, as many of the truck drivers spent weeks away from their families.

“These men and women, they live on the road. They sleep during the day and work all night,” he added, noting, “It’s a grueling task. They leave their families, young children, for weeks. For Taylor’s tour, they’ve been away from home for 24 weeks.”

As for how the drivers received the surprise, the founder revealed that it was the singer’s father, Scott Swift, who broke the news to the workers and added a personal touch to the special gift.

“The Taylor family is always present and kind to our drivers but Scott generally doesn’t lead the meeting,” he revealed. “Scott gave a speech saying that he had discussed this with Taylor and they thought that it was only right that everybody received a bonus. Taylor insisted on writing a handwritten note to each driver and [added] a wax seal on the envelope with her monogram.”

Taylor Swift’s generosity extends beyond her Eras Tour crew, as the 14-time Grammy winner has supported various charitable causes, including the American Heart Association in 2025 and Feeding America. She also contributed to relief efforts following the devastating Los Angeles wildfires that year.

In addition, she has surprised fans with her generosity, including a young Swiftie named Lilah Smoot, who received $100,000 to help with her cancer journey and a mother of five who received a $50,000 donation after her husband died of COVID-19 in 2021.

These are just a few examples of Swift’s charitable acts, which demonstrate her commitment to helping people facing difficult circumstances.

Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” has another claim to rock royalty.

In a ranking updated in September, the band’s 1975 classic holds the No. 1 spot on Planet Rock’s list of the 500 greatest rock songs of all time, beating out Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven,” which landed at No. 2.

The countdown, originally revealed in January and voted on by thousands of Planet Rock listeners, puts the six-minute Queen epic ahead of some of rock’s most celebrated songs. Planet Rock noted that “Stairway to Heaven” missed the top spot “by just a handful of votes.”

Written by Freddie Mercury, “Bohemian Rhapsody” was released on Oct. 31, 1975, as the lead single from Queen’s album A Night at the Opera. Its unusual structure—moving from a piano ballad to an operatic section before erupting into hard rock—was a gamble at a time when radio singles were typically much shorter.

The gamble paid off.

According to the Official Charts, the song climbed to No. 1 in the United Kingdom within four weeks. It stayed there for nine weeks, becoming the 1975 Christmas No. 1. It returned to the top after Mercury died in 1991, and its appearance in Wayne’s World helped introduce it to another generation of fans. In the United States, the song initially peaked at No. 9 in 1976 before reaching No. 2 in 1992.

Nearly five decades after its release, “Bohemian Rhapsody” continues to attract listeners well beyond its original audience. It has surpassed 2.6 billion Spotify streams, making it the most-streamed classic rock song from the 20th century, according to a December 2025 Parade report.

Queen guitarist Brian May reflected on the song’s staying power in an interview with Rolling Stone, saying, “‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ doesn’t get old, does it?” He then corrected himself: “The music doesn’t seem to get old.”

Planet Rock’s September ranking update offers another reminder of that longevity. “Bohemian Rhapsody” may have sounded risky in 1975, but its enduring popularity has made it one of rock’s defining songs.

While Tom Welling‘s arguably most recognizable role is Clark Kent, AKA Superman, on the hit WB series Smallville, he almost never played the Man of Steel.

During an October 2026 interview with Variety, alongside his Smallville castmate Michael Rosenbaum, in celebration of the show’s 25th anniversary, Welling said his “representation at the time” had him turn down the role of Clark twice.

“When the audition came up, they weren’t releasing the script, and my representation at the time was like, ‘That either means it’s not good or they don’t have a script. So, let’s just, you know, let’s not go to that one. Go to the one that we know could be better,'” explained Welling.

He then said he knew that the project was something he wanted to be a part of after he read the script for the show’s pilot.

“And then a couple weeks later, we got the call back again for it. And it was sort of the same thing. And then David [Nutter], the director, called and said, ‘Listen, we’re really interested in Tom. We’d like to have him come in, sign an NDA, and read the script.’ So, I went into Warner Brothers and read the script and realized how good I thought it could be,” said Welling.

During a 2021 interview on Rosenbaum’s podcast, Inside of You, Welling shared that he didn’t realize that he was going to be the star of Smallville when he signed on to the show.

“I was sold on the idea that it was ensemble,” said Welling.

He also said he was excited to be on the series. However, once he arrived on set, he became aware that he didn’t have as much experience as his castmates.

“I got in front of all you guys, and you guys knew what marks were. And where the light should be and stuff, and I was like, ‘Oh boy, I better learn fast. So yeah, I had no idea. I just knew it was a great job. And I hoped it would work, and that’s how it continued, and we ended up lasting 10 years,” said Welling.

Bob Dylan is back on the road again, and he’s still full of surprises.

The 85-year-old kicked off his “Lights of Autumn” tour in Oslo, Norway, on Oct. 17, where audience members were fortunate to witness some rare musical moments. As Tom Wilkins reported for the newsletter Flagging Down the Double E‘s, Dylan performed “Tangled Up in Blue” for the first time in eight years, even adding two new verses; he also revived “Crash on the Levee (Down in the Flood)” after leaving it off the set list for 21 years.

Originally recorded by Dylan in 1967 with the Band, “Crash on the Levee (Down in the Flood)” was later released on The Basement Tapes album in 1975 (and again in 2014 on The Bootleg Series Vol. 11: The Basement Tapes Complete).

“At 8.01pm, on strode Tony Garnier, Anton Fig, Joel Paterson and a final guitarist that some were speculating was Nashville-based John Hiatt collaborator Mike Seal. All were smartly attired in black suits and black shirts,” Wilkins wrote in his review of the apparently very punctual show.

“They were immediately joined from stage right (audience left) by Bob who for a brief second was capless and hoodless as he walked out before donning his cap/ black hood combo and launching into ‘To Be Alone With You,'” he continued.

Other notable surprises from the evening included the debuts of two cover songs: Guy Clark’s “Dublin Blues” and Randy Newman’s “Louisiana 1927.”

The “Lights of Autumn” tour continues tonight, Oct. 19, in Gothenburg, Sweden, and will include stops in Antwerp, Zurich, Rome and Vienna before wrapping up with five dates in London in December.

Daytime Emmy winner Cynthia Watros portrayed one of television’s most iconic characters as the love-to-hate villain Annie Dutton on the Procter & Gamble soap opera Guiding Light. Still, it was one random acting choice that transformed Annie from sweet and lovable into a living legend.

Last year, Watros was interviewed by Remind Magazine‘s Stephanie Sloane, where she reflected on her time in the industry, including her performances on Another World and The Young and the Restless.

During the conversation, Watros explained how she added in a line while filming an episode of Guiding Light that changed everything. “I added in that I had a terrible headache,” she explained.

Watros went on to share that she didn’t know what made her so brave to say, “I have a headache,’ and I grabbed my head.”

Ultimately, the writers saw the scene and decided to run with it. “The writers wrote in that Annie starts taking pain medication for her headache, and then I started getting addicted to pain medication, and then it just spiraled to where I was doing all sorts of crazy stuff.”

As the story played out, Annie’s schemes and plans to keep the love of her life, Joshua Lewis (Robert Newman), away from his soulmate Reva Shayne (Kim Zimmer) were a dream come true, and Watros described her storylines as “a blast.”

Watros portrayed Annie from November 29, 1994, until February 23, 1998, when she left the series to explore other opportunities. The role was then briefly recast with Signy Coleman taking over, appearing for a year before exiting the series in 1999.

These days, Watros can be seen portraying businesswoman and schemer Nina Reeves on the ABC soap opera General Hospital.

For her work on Guiding Light, Watros took home the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 1998.
