New Survey Shows 56 Percent of Americans Are Worried About Their Summer Travel Plans

Wed, 03/25/2026 - 10:22am

It may only be March, but many people are already locked into their summer vacation plans and daydreaming about how they will spend whatever time they can take to sneak away. However, ongoing political conflicts at home and abroad, as well as rising fuel prices, have left plenty of Americans feeling anxious about their trip.

In fact, a new report shows that more than half of the people surveyed are feeling nervous that their trip will be interrupted or cancelled. They have good reason to feel that way, too. All you have to do is look at the latest news to see how long lines at airports and wreaking havoc on Spring Break plans, with people reporting missed connections, cancelled flights, and more. Plus, it seems like every day there is a new travel warning being issued, highlighting just how far reaching travel uncertainty is reaching. So, what's a hopeful vacationer to do about it? According to 85 percent of the people surveyed, there's one thing that you simply can't leave home without this summer. Keep reading to find out what it is.

New Data Shows Americans Are Worried About Summer Travel

The travel insurance company Squaremouth released data from a recent survey on Mar. 25, 2026, saying that 56 percent of the Americans it surveyed said they were worried about interruptions or cancellations disrupting their summer trips. In a press release, the company said that certain issues were at top of mind for travelers, like:

And they are worried for a good reason. On Mar. 22, the U.S. Department of State issued an expansive Worldwide Caution security alert, advising U.S. citizens to exercise increased caution when traveling anywhere outside of the country due to the ongoing military conflicts with Iran. The widespread warning highlights just how precarious travel is right now, lending credibility to fears about summer travel.

Travel Insurance May Help Ease Worried Minds

While travel insurance is usually thought of as a luxury item by many budget conscious travelers, more people than ever seem to be singing its praises. According to the press release from Squaremouth, 85 percent of the people surveyed are calling travel insurance "essential."

"The current travel landscape can make travelers feel as though they have no control over their plans," Chrissy Valdez, Senior Director of Operations at Squaremouth said in the statement. "By purchasing travel insurance with Cancel For Any Reason, you can regain a sense of control and plan your trips with more confidence, knowing you have protection."

What Is Cancel for Any Reason Insurance

Travel insurance is not one size fits all. And while most policies will help you with certain issues, like delays, traditional policies rarely cover things like government shutdowns and geopolitical arrest.

There's where Cancel for Any Reason (CFAR) insurance comes in. Squaremouth says this is the only type of policy that can give today's travelers the flexibility they need during these unusual times. CFAR policies will allow you to do things like cancel your trip for any reason, including everything from airspace closures to being afraid to travel at this time.

Of course, there is some fine print that travelers should learn about before they add CFAR to their coverage, including the fact that the policy has to be purchased within 14 to 21 days of your initial trip deposit in order to be used. But, having this added layer of protection may offer peace of mind to worried travelers, and give you the support you need to feel confident when you head out on your summer vacation this year.

'60s Music Legend Won His First Oscar for 'Best Original Song' 41 Years Ago Today

Wed, 03/25/2026 - 10:21am

Oscar wins aren't only for big-screen productions, with the Oscar for "Best Original Song" in 1984 having gone to one of R&B's biggest names. Stevie Wondertook home his first-ever Oscar win for a track that's considered one of the best love songs of all time.

"I Just Called to Say I Love You" is one of Wonder's best-selling singles to date, with the track having been one of three that were released for the The Woman in Red soundtrack. The romantic comedy was directed by Gene Wilder and was based on the Yves Robert film Pardon Mon Affaire.

Its storyline focused on Wilder's character, a San Francisco advertising man named Teddy Pierce, who becomes infatuated with a woman named Charlotte. Charlotte was played by Kelly LeBrock in her acting debut, alongside Charles Grodin, Gilda Radner, Joseph Bologna, and Judith Ivey. After Teddy witnesses Charlotte's red dress get billowed by a current of air and sees her red underwear, he decides to pursue an affair with her.

The Woman in Red was a box office success, having made $25.3 million versus its $9 million budget. While it was well-received, the nominations went towards Wonder's hit song on the soundtrack that ranked at No. 1 for three weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. It was also the tenth No. 1 chart-topping hit of his career, and the first time Wonder was on top of the charts in the UK.

"I Just Called to Say I Love You" has lyrics that have often been described as one of the most "romantic love letters." Wonder is heard, surprising someone with a phone call to tell them how much he loves them, while the song also notes various occasions throughout the year that someone would make the type of call.

At the 57th Oscars, Wonder's song went up against "Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now)" by Phil Collins, "Footloose" by Kenny Loggins and Dean Pitchford, "Let's Hear It for the Boy" by Dean Pitchford and Tom Snow, and "Ghostbusters" by Ray Parker Jr.

Wonder had won the Oscar in the category and was noted for having thanked jailed activist Nelson Mandela. His speech created a buzz at the time and prompted South African radio stations to ban his music. He also thanked Dionne Warwick, Wilder, Orion Pictures, and Motown Records.

The song also won a Golden Globe, and was nominated at the 27th Grammy Awards for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Instrumental Performance.

Sam Champion Returns to 'GMA' Following Heart Procedure: 'I Feel So Good'

Wed, 03/25/2026 - 10:18am

Good Morning Americaweather man Sam Champion is back at the anchor desk with health advice for fans after having an emergency heart procedure last week.

Chatting on the morning show on Wednesday, the beloved TV personality explained how one small symptom prompted the need for the procedure.

"I'm sitting here, I feel fine, but I did have an emergency procedure, it was one hour and one hour later I felt fine immediately," he said of the cardiac catheterization that he underwent.

However, the 64-year-old wanted to leave the audience with one piece of advice following his health scare.

"I'm healthy, my heart presents as healthy," he said. "When I was tested over and over again everything looked fine, there was one symptom that kept persisting, I didn't know it could mean a heart attack until I had a nuclear stress test to see what was going on inside my heart to see how my heart was moving and holding blood."

"Noticing I was a little out of breath was the one thing that was wrong with me," he added. "My doctor said we need to do this test right away."

Champion also mentioned the photo he posted from his hospital bed and thanked his doctors again.

The segment, recapping Champion's health scare, also included expert advice and insight from GMA's chief medical correspondent Dr. Tara Narula for viewers who may find themselves in a similar situation.

"He tried to come to work the next day" fellow GMA anchor Michael Strahan joked, before asking the expert if Champion's procedure provided any downtime.

"You look so good now," chimed in anchor Robin Roberts.

"I feel so good, and it's just like that," he responded.

Champion also did an Instagram Live as he was heading into work.

"I'm doing fine, feeling fine," he said, noting that he didn't sleep too well due to nerves of "getting back to the regular schedule."

"Feeling great, thank you guys for asking," he said to commenters.

Renters Thoroughly Creeped Out After Finding Hidden Room in Airbnb

Wed, 03/25/2026 - 10:16am

It started like a typical vacation rental. A group of travelers checked into an Airbnb in Dallas expecting a standard stay. Instead, they found something that felt pulled straight from a thriller.

In a now-viral TikTok video, the group discovered a hidden door in the ceiling of a bedroom. When they lifted someone up to investigate, they found an entirely separate concealed space above the room. What initially looked like an attic quickly took on a more unsettling tone as viewers and the renters themselves questioned why the space existed at all.

The video exploded online, racking up nearly 20 million views and sparking immediate concern. The renters later shared that the listing photos did not accurately reflect the space and described the home as feeling off, even before the discovery. Whether the room had an innocent explanation or something more suspicious remains unclear, but the ambiguity is exactly what made it so disturbing.

TikTok Reactions: From Horror Movie Jokes to Real Fear

If the discovery itself felt eerie, the reaction online amplified it tenfold. TikTok users flooded the comments with a mix of humor, skepticism, and genuine alarm.

Some compared the situation to horror films, pointing out how often secret rooms signal something sinister. A user said "If u ever seen barbarian… it’s basically what you about to go through." Terrifying.

♬ original sound - mich3113.0

Others were far less playful. One commenter wrote "There’s zero reason for a part of a house like this to exist. The only reasons that can be possible are for the wrong thing. So I know 100% at a certain point, this was used for something not legal"

What made the conversation more unsettling was how many people shared similar experiences.

One TikToker recounted "my Airbnb had a bunch of mini doors that led to underground tunnels and they were not blocked off or anything and when I wanted to leave everyone said I was being dramatic…the tv turned on by itself and the remote moved in my room (I did not touch either the whole time i was there) oh and I heard the toilet flush on its own (it was not automatic and no one else was awake) but sureee I’m crazy for being suspicious of Airbnb's!"

Scrolling through the reactions, most people fixated on the same question: why was there a door at all, and why was it open? What starts as curiosity quickly shifts into something more alert. Viewers begin urging each other to check closets, vents, even smoke detectors, to trust their instincts, and to leave immediately if anything feels off.

What Travelers Should Do If They Find Something Strange

Moments like this are rare, but they are not impossible. And when you are in an unfamiliar place, even small details can feel magnified. The key is knowing how to respond without spiraling.

If you discover a hidden space or anything that feels suspicious, start with the basics:

  • Document everything immediately using photos and video.
  • Do not explore further if the space feels unsafe or inaccessible.
  • Contact the host through the platform so there is a record of communication
  • Report the issue to Airbnb support directly through the app.
  • Leave the property if you feel unsafe, even if it disrupts your plans.
  • Call local authorities if there is any indication of criminal activity.

Airbnb’s policies require hosts to accurately represent their listings and prohibit undisclosed surveillance or misleading property descriptions. Situations like this often fall under those protections, which means guests may be eligible for refunds or relocation support depending on the case.

From a traveler’s perspective, the most important tool is instinct. If something feels off, it probably is. No itinerary is worth overriding that feeling.

How to Protect Yourself Before You Even Check In

The hidden room story is dramatic, but it highlights something more practical. Preparation matters. Before booking, read reviews carefully and look for patterns rather than one-off complaints. Pay attention to vague language or repeated mentions of cleanliness, accuracy, or communication issues. Listings with consistent, detailed reviews tend to be more reliable.

When you arrive, take a few minutes to scan the space. Check that the layout matches the listing photos. Notice anything unusual like blocked doors, extra locks, or areas that seem intentionally concealed. It is not about paranoia. It is about awareness.

Personally, I have started doing a quick walkthrough the moment I arrive anywhere new. Not obsessively, just enough to feel grounded in the space. It changes how you settle in. You move from guest to someone who understands their surroundings.

Why This Story Resonates With Travelers Right Now

There is a reason this story traveled so quickly online. It is not just about a hidden room. It is about control. Travel today is often framed as seamless. Book instantly, check in remotely, move freely. But experiences like this remind us that behind every listing is a real place with its own history, quirks, and unknowns.

Fuel your wanderlust with our top travel stories—join our newsletter today.

That does not mean travelers should avoid short-term rentals. It just means approaching them with the same awareness you would bring anywhere else in the world. Because most trips unfold exactly as planned. And then there are the ones that do not. And sometimes, all it takes is a door you were never meant to notice.

Fan-Favorite TLC Couple Shares Big News Years After Show Disappeared

Wed, 03/25/2026 - 10:10am

TLC stopped airing the reality TV show The Little Couple several years ago, much to the disappointment of the family's fans. The series featured Dr. Jennifer Arnold, her husband, Bill Klein, and their two kids, Will and Zoey and aired from 2009 to 2019. Now, Arnold and Klein are launching something new that fans will not want to miss.

On March 22, Arnold took to social media to make an exciting announcement. "Big news... or maybe just mildly organized chaos," she teased.

Arnold continued, "After years of talking @reallybillklein and I are finally working on a podcast together!"

View this post on Instagram

She teasingly added, "Yes, you heard that right: Bill + Jen + microphones = what could possibly go wrong?"

In addition, Arnold explained, they are working with Victoria Levy, who was on the team they had with TLC and The Little Couple. Arnold teased that Levy "spent many years behind the camera with us and clearly knows where all the good stories are hiding."

"We're calling it... well, you'll have to wait for that part. But for now, 'Bill & Jen Make a Podcast,'" the former reality TV star declared. She also told fans to stay tuned, admitting, "This should be interesting."

The brief video that Arnold included in her post showed her with Klein, recording their podcast. She used the Beatles song "In My Life" to accompany the video, and fans went wild over the news.

View this post on Instagram

The comment section was filled with responses from excited fans. Some admitted they hoped Arnold and Klein would be returning to television, but the upcoming podcast seems like the next best option for many.

"Now if we can only get you back on tv," a comment read.

"For the first time ever...I'm now looking forward to a podcast," one fan gushed.

The reaction to Arnold's news on TikTok was similarly enthusiastic.

"Glimmer of something good to look forward to! Cue: 'Here Comes the Sun,' Abbey Road album. Makes me recall when y'all crossed Abbey Rd while on vacation with the family," a fan wrote.

Another added, "Two truly stand up being!!! Love the both of you and your kind, genuine, gentle and loving souls."

As TV Insider noted in January, TLC never officially canceled The Little Couple. However, the disappearance of the series came amid legal issues involving Discovery Communications, the parent company of TLC, and the show's production company, LMNO Cable Group.

The show followed Arnold and Klein through their days as newlyweds, through the adoptions of both of their children, and through Arnold's cancer journey.

Now, the family lives in Boston, Massachusetts and Arnold works at Boston Children's Hospital. Will turned 16 in February, and Zoey turned 14 last September.

The family seems to be doing very well, but fans of Arnold's and Klein's from The Little Couple days will get to learn more when the podcast debuts. A premiere date was not revealed in Arnold's announcement, but it seems it will be coming soon.

One of Disneyland’s Most Iconic Rides Is Closing for an Indefinite Refurbishment

Wed, 03/25/2026 - 10:10am

If you are one of the many Disney loyalists who considers a trip to New Orleans Square a "forever favorite" ritual, you might want to sit down for this one. According to a recent report from Inside the Magic, Disneyland is preparing to shutter Pirates of the Caribbean for a major refurbishment beginning May 4, 2026.

For those of us who plan our entire Disney day around that cool, salt-air drift through the bayou, the news is a bit of a heartbreaker—especially since there is currently no confirmed reopening date.

According to Inside the Magic, both the attraction and the iconic Blue Bayou Restaurant will go dark on May 4. If you want one last ride or a final Monte Cristo sandwich by the water, your deadline is May 3, 2026.

Related: A Beloved Disney Ride is Nearing the End of Its 28-Year-Run

View this post on Instagram

While the ride itself will be completely out of commission, the blog notes that Blue Bayou is tentatively scheduled to reopen in late May. However, it comes with a major "buyer beware" for your vacation planning: Disney is calling it a "modified dining experience." Because the ride is under construction, those famous views of the fireflies and boats will be obstructed, and you might hear some refurbishment noise while you eat.

While Disney hasn’t shared specific details on the changes, Inside the Magic pointed to a recent permit filing that suggests this is more than just a quick dusting of the animatronics. The permit includes:

  • Technical Upgrades: New projectors and speakers—specifically for "Scene 11."
  • Infrastructure: Extensive work on rockwork and the installation of new service ladders and electrical panels.
  • Maintenance: Structural enhancements that suggest a deep-dive into the ride's mechanics.

As someone who has spent years navigating theme parks, I know how much a single closure can throw off an itinerary. If you’re heading to the park this summer, New Orleans Square is going to feel a little quieter. Between the Pirates closure and the quiet disappearance of Port Royal Curios and Curiosities from the park map, this corner of the park is clearly in a season of transition.

If your heart is set on a Disney trip this May or June, you’ll have to weigh the value of that Blue Bayou reservation without the atmosphere, or perhaps pivot your focus to the new lands like Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

‘Touched by an Angel’ Star Roma Downey, 65, Looks Ageless With Platinum Hair: ‘I’m Loving Being a Blonde’

Wed, 03/25/2026 - 10:04am

Roma Downey is best known for sporting dark hair during her days on Touched by an Angel, but she's more stunning than ever as a platinum blonde at 65.

The beloved Irish actress, who starred in the popular ’90s CBS series that followed an angel named Monica who must bring guidance from God to people facing important issues in their lives, took to Instagram this week to make it clear how much she loves her lighter hair color. In contrast to her days as a brunette on the iconic series alongside co-stars Della Reese and John Dye, Downey glows with platinum blonde hair as she snags a selfie in front of her home.

"I’m loving being a blonde !! #blondes#blondesofinstagram#blondeshavemorefun#romadowney," the beauty captioned the stunning shot.

What Happened to Downey’s Touched by an Angel Costars?

Touched by an Angel celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2024. When asked by Entertainment Tonight if she’d be interested in participating in a reboot of the classic series, Downey, who played the role of Monica on the series for nine seasons, said, “Never say never.” However, she did admit that due to the deaths of her costars, John Dye and Della Reese, recapturing the show’s magic would be tough. Reese died in 2017 at age 86, while Dye died at age 47 in 2011.

“That’s not a bad idea, unfortunately, we see all these reboots and a lot of the original cast, Della unfortunately has passed, and John Dye, our wonderful angel of death, also passed over,” she explained. “I always was hoping that wonderful angel of death came for both of them and lead them home.”

Despite losing her dear friends, Downey said she’s still incredibly touched by the way the show still resonates so deeply with fans.

“I think it still is inspirational for folks,” she continued. “It took a very simple premise that there was and is a god that you are loved [by], that god wants to be part of your life and I think that people tuned in for that message.”

What is Roma Downey Up to These Days?

Downey also has a very busy acting career these days. She starred in The Baxters, a 2024 faith-based series on Amazon Prime Video, alongside Ted McGinley. Based on Karen Kingsbury's Redemption book series, it follows two parents and their five adult children.

People Are Swarming Greece Over Stunning Peach Blossoms but There Are 4 U.S. Spots Where You Can Capture the Same Beauty

Wed, 03/25/2026 - 10:03am

Every spring, something almost surreal happens in Veria, Greece. Vast stretches of farmland transform into a soft, glowing sea of pink as peach trees burst into bloom. The effect is striking that thousands of visitors now travel to northern Greece just to witness it in person and many leave saying they’ve “never seen anything like it before.”

The blooming orchards cover roughly 170 square kilometers, creating what is described as a “pink veil” from February to April, stretching across the landscape. Visitors wander through the fields, take photos, bike between blossoms, and attend small festivals celebrating both spring and the region’s agricultural roots.

It’s easy to see why it’s gone viral. It feels like stepping into a painting, but here’s the surprising part: you don’t have to fly to Greece to experience something incredibly similar.

The U.S. Has Its Own “Sea of Pink”

While Greece may be getting the spotlight right now, the U.S. quietly offers its own versions of this dreamy spring spectacle from March to April, if you know where to look.

Here are four places where you can capture the same kind of peach (and peach-like) blossom beauty:

1. Jaemor Farms, Georgia

If you want actual peach blossoms, this is one of the closest experiences to Greece. Each spring, rows of peach trees bloom in soft pink and white, creating a layered, photogenic landscape that feels straight out of Europe.

Visitors can walk through the orchards, take photos, and experience the early stages of Georgia’s famous peach season. It’s more intimate than Greece but just as beautiful up close.

♬ original sound - 🦉 2. Peach Blossom Festival, Nashville, Arkansas

Known as the “Peach Capital of Arkansas,” this small town celebrates spring with its annual Peach Blossom Festival. While it’s more community-focused than scenic on a massive scale, you’ll still find blooming orchards nearby and a festival filled with food, music, and local culture.

It’s a reminder that in the U.S., these blooms are often tied to local traditions, not just tourism.

3. Fresno County Blossom Trail, Fresno, California

For a truly immersive experience, head to the Fresno County Blossom Trail. This scenic driving route winds through miles of blooming orchards featuring peaches, almonds, and other fruit trees, creating a patchwork of pink, white, and soft pastel hues.

Unlike a single park, this is a full landscape experience. You can drive, bike, or stop along the way to take in the blossoms, making it one of the closest U.S. comparisons to Greece’s wide-open floral vistas.

@jazwanderlust

I visited the blossoms yesterday (02/28/26) and it truly felt like stepping into a pink paradise 🌸✨#Fresnoblossomtrail #fypシ゚viral #californiablooms #cakiforniablooms Be sure to download the official Fresno Blossom Trail map from @VisitFresnoCounty to locate the best bloom stops.

♬ Art of Now (Nature Sounds) - Dennis Korn 4. Rocky Top Fruit Farm, Payson, Utah

Rocky Top Fruit Farm is especially known for its peach orchards, which take center stage in early spring. Before the fruit ever arrives, the trees bloom in soft shades of pink, creating rows of delicate blossoms that feel almost dreamlike against the mountain backdrop of Utah County.

These peach blossoms are short-lived, which makes them even more special, lasting just a couple of weeks before giving way to the fruit the farm is known for later in the season. Walking through the orchard during peak bloom, you’re surrounded by color, light fragrance, and a quiet, local charm that feels far removed from busier destinations.

Related: How to See Washington, D.C.’s Cherry Blossoms While Avoiding the Crowds

Why Greece Still Feels Different

Even with these U.S. alternatives, Greece’s peach blossoms stand out for one key reason: scale meets simplicity. That said, the U.S. versions offer something Greece doesn’t: accessibility. You don’t need a flight to catch peak bloom. Many of these destinations are easier to reach, more flexible, and often less crowded (depending on where you go).

Greece’s peach blossoms absolutely live up to the hype; they’re bucket-list worthy. But the idea that you have to travel internationally to experience that kind of beauty? Not quite true.

Steven Spielberg Reveals Tom Cruise's Surprising Set Ritual

Wed, 03/25/2026 - 9:58am

Steven Spielberg is a big Tom Cruise fan, praising the actor for his incredible work ethic on set.

While speaking at the recent SXSW Film Festival, Spielberg, who directed Cruise in Minority Report (2002) and War of the Worlds (2005), shared what it's really like working with the actor.

The director explained the collaborative process in filmmaking. "I wake up in the morning and I know the page count that I need to cover, but I'm not exactly sure how I'm going to cover it yet," he shared.

"That's what's exciting — getting on set with no real plan except to tell the story the best way I can possibly tell it," Spielberg continued. "And I love doing that in collaboration with crew, but also especially with actors. Because the thing that I love about actors, if you cast the film right, you're not just getting someone who is going to give you a great performance, you're getting someone who has a deep meaningful understanding of the film that all of us are making together."

"Tom Cruise showed up every morning when I showed up," Spielberg said. "I show up before the crew. So I get to the set sometimes at 6:30 in the morning."

"On Minority Report and on War of the Worlds, Tom would insist on getting there when I got there so we would map out the whole day ... which was really helpful for me."

During the keynote conversation, Sean Fennessey, host of The Big Picture, asked Spielberg, "How do you know you're getting it? How do you know that what you're capturing on film is actually going to work on a big screen?"

Spielberg explained, "It's only when I hear from the audience, you know, and when I hear from the general feeling of how the film is landing, do I know that the things that I thought were going to work are working, or the things that I was certain would work, aren't working."

He also recalled the audience screening for Jaws in 1975.

"I didn't know what I had until we previewed the picture in the Medallion Theatre in Dallas, Texas," the director shared. "And that was my lucky theater for like my first four films."

Spielberg added, "And I took all my films to Texas, including E.T. We previewed in Houston, we previewed all my films in Texas, and I didn't know what we had until the audience told us what we had."

1980 Doomed Country Duet Turned Into a Big Hit For Kenny Rogers

Wed, 03/25/2026 - 9:45am

Kenny Rogers was riding high on the success of several major Billboard hits when he landed near the top of the charts in 1980 with a doomed country duet alongside Kim Carnes.

"Don't Fall In Love With A Dreamer" told the story of two lovers facing a difficult future. They look back on their relationship with sadness and a sense of regret for what went wrong between them.

The song was written by Carnes and David Ellingson. It was included on Rogers' 1980 concept album, Gideon, which told the story of a fictional cowboy named Gideon Turner. Carnes and Ellingson wrote all 10 tracks for the LP.

The song would hit No. 4 on Billboard's charts. It would remain there for a staggering 19 weeks.

In an interview with Billboard, Rogers reflected on working with Carnes. "Kim was with me in the New Christy Minstrels. We were good buddies there, and I remember her being out on the road with all these guys, and we had this girl with us named Kiyoko Ito, who spoke no English, so Kim was the only girl who spoke English."

He continued, "I remember her crying on the bus because she was so lonely on the road. I had no idea that she could write like she does, and I was thrilled with Gideon, the album she wrote for me."

In 2020, Carnes shared details about writing Rogers' concept album with Rolling Stone, "We gave [the character] a name, Gideon Tanner, and we had to make up an entire life story for him. The album starts with his funeral. He also gets put in jail for cattle rustling. He’s a rogue, a bad boy."

She continued, "His girl at home loves him dearly, but there’s a song where he says, ‘You need a man whose heart is only one place in the night, and I’m not it.'”

Carnes added that she continues to perform "Don't Fall in Love With a Dreamer" in every show. However, the entertainer admits she doesn't relate to the dramatic love affair depicted in the song on a personal level.

However, she says, “I’m a dreamer, [and] all my friends are dreamers. I think it’s a wonderful thing to dream big. The song was just written in the context of who Gideon Tanner is in this life story.”

Kim Carnes continues to perform. Kenny Rogers died in March 2020 at 81.

Disabled Man Allegedly Dropped by Budget Airline Handler During Transportation Onto Flight and Tragically Dies

Wed, 03/25/2026 - 9:40am

A family is left grieving after a 24-year-old man tragically died from injuries sustained while boarding an Allegiant flight. The father of the man claims that his son, who had muscular dystrophy, died after a traumatic fall from the wheelchair that airline crew was allegedly using to help the man board the plane.

The father claims that the airline didn't follow proper safety protocol, which he believes led to his son's death. Now, he's looking for the courts to get involved so that this never has to happen to another family again.

A Man Was Killed While Boarding a Flight

Tony Adkins is sharing the heartbreaking story about how his son Hunter was killed while boarding an Allegiant Air flight out of West Virginia. According to People magazine, the 24-year-old was wheelchair bound, and the airline was supposed to have two trained wheelchair assistants remove him from his motorized wheelchair and put him into a narrower aisle chair, which would allow him to safely board the plane.

However, Adkins says what allegedly happened was that the assistants were instead asked to help load luggage onto the plane while the pilot rushed passengers on board so that they could make their scheduled departure time. Adkins said that this is when tragedy struck, and an allegedly untrained assistant dropped the 24-year-old from the wheelchair while putting him on the plane. Sadly, the young man was unable to break his fall, and he landed on his face. The assistant and the wheelchair both quickly followed, also landing on him and causing irreparable damage.

The young man was rushed to the hospital, and he later died from "multiple blunt force injuries."

Now, his father is looking for justice by way of monetary and emotional damages, since both he and his 9-year-old were standing there when the entire incident went down. The attorney representing the family said that the lawsuit is about more than just money though. "We know that this claim is not going to bring Hunter back but we are hopeful that this can help bring about change," the attorney's statement to People magazine said.

Allegiant Responded to the Family's Claims

In a statement to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, a spokesperson from the airline addressed the lawsuit, saying, "While we cannot comment on pending litigation, we extend our deepest sympathies to the family and loved ones affected by this heartbreaking situation."

According to the National Center for Public Policy Research, a lack of accommodations for disabled passengers isn't a new thing, and it's not just limited to a specific airline. In fact, there have been several bits of legislation passed to ensure that disabled passengers can travel safely, including the Air Carrier Access Act of 1986 and the Airline Passengers with Disabilities Bill of Rights in 2022.

Related: Why More Travelers Are Ditching Packed Itineraries for Slow Travel (And Loving It More)

However, the National Center for Public Policy Research says that many airlines have failed to make required changes and upgrades of their planes, instead opting to pay the fines and fees associated with violating these laws, writing, "Arguably, it seems that airline manufacturers and the airlines are willing to accept penalties while making minimal effort towards compliance."

One such compliance rule includes how wheelchairs are used to board planes, travel through the airport, and even stored during travel. The National Center for Public Policy Research says that a specific "Wheelchair Rule" is sorely needed, and while one has been proposed (and rescinded) over the years, it doesn't appear that there is any clear timeline on when wheelchair users can expect to see a mandated change to how these travelers are accommodated during their flights.

Lark Voorhies, Who Played Lisa Turtle on ‘Saved by the Bell,’ Turns 51 and Is Stunning

Wed, 03/25/2026 - 9:40am

Lark Voorhies lit up the camera as Lisa Turtle on Saved by the Bell, and she's more beautiful than ever these days as she turns 51.

Voorhies, who hits her 51st birthday on Wednesday, March 25, rose to fame as Turtle, the resident fashionista at Bayside High School. She starred on the series alongside the rest of the gang from 1989 to 1993, and left her mark for years (and endless reruns) to come.

In the years following her run on the series, Voorhies guest-starred on several popular TV series, ranging from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air to Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. She's also appeared in several music videos and self-published several books.

In the present day, it's safe to say Voorhies is absolutely thriving. Back in November, the ageless beauty posted a stunning photo to her Instagram. Smiling brightly, it's hard to believe that the beauty is in her fifties.

"Hey Instafam, what kind of film and TV shows would you love to see me star in next?" she captioned the photo, which showed Voorhies sporting long, curly hair.

Struggling With Mental Health Issues

Like many people around the world, Voorhies has struggled with mental health issues. Back in 2020, the actress appeared on the Dr. Oz Show with her mother and opened up about her struggle with Schizoaffective disorder. However, her story was an inspirational one about triumphing over challenges.

Is There Potential For Another Saved by the Bell Reboot?

Saved by the Bell was back in action… for a short amount of time, at least. A reboot of the series aired on Peacock for two seasons from November 2020 to December 2021. In the series, Tiffani Thiessen, who played Kelly Kapowski on the series, was still married to her longtime love, Zack Morris. However, the reboot didn’t stick. When asked if she thought another one was possible, Thiessen spoke candidly.

“I don’t think so. I think they tried it,” she told PEOPLE last year. Even though it didn’t last, Thiessen made it clear she “loved the reboot.”

“It only lasted two seasons, sadly,” she added. “[But] who knows? There are other shows that are in my sort of realm that are further along in possibly getting a reboot.”

Country singer Colter Wall shared the tragic news of his bandmate Jason Simpson's death days after canceling his 2026 tour due to mental health struggles.

Simpson—who played for Wall’s backing band The Scary Prairie Boys—reportedly died on Monday, March 23.

"Stood beside me for 10 years, on stage and off. Rest in peace my good friend. You are missed," Wall shared via Instagram.

The band's record label, La Honda Records, also shared a statement.

"Jason Simpson was local to us at La Honda Records. A fellow Kentuckian with a bass guitar and long hair who we knew from around the way," their statement, which was shared to social media, read. "For the last decade he was a part of our crew. We swapped stories, travelled the world together, and saw him keep rhythm on both small and grand stages all over this country. We are deeply saddened to have lost him. Our hearts are with the community of people who lost him too.”

The news of Simpson's death comes just two weeks after Wall announced that he needed to focus on his mental health and would be canceling his ongoing tour. It's unclear whether the two events are related.

"Myself and the band and the crew are very grateful for the privilege to play music together for you. We thank you for it," he shared on March 11. "The truth is that I am mentally unwell,” he continued. “Despite this, I have pushed myself to continue with touring. As a result my mental health has only further declined. After discussion with my team, we have decided to cancel the remaining shows and take an indefinite hiatus from live music."

Sam's Club's New $10 Mini Pies Delivers Three Great Desserts In One

Wed, 03/25/2026 - 9:32am

We'll be first to admit: sometimes it's hard to decide on the proper dessert to settle on when you get a myriad of options to choose from. After all, why settle on buying one pie at the grocery store when you have several others at your disposal?

Fortunately, Sam's Club's latest Member's Mark exclusive provides shoppers with the perfect solution. Delivering three great desserts in one, the grocery chain's new Mini Pies are the ideal option for anyone looking for a diverse mix of sweets, free from the headache-inducing agony of having to choose just one to purchase.

As multiple shoppers have reported seeing on Instagram, Sam's Club has once again brought back their popular Mini Pies to the store's bakery section, albeit with a slight difference in past releases.

Whereas previous iterations of the dessert featured peanut butter, cherry vanilla bean and French silk pies, the new version of the Mini Pies specifically features key lime, vanilla bean, and chocolate pie as its base lineup.

Between each dessert, this trio covers virtually every respective flavor profile shoppers could hope to find out of their dessert.

The key lime pie, for example, features a delicate balance between tart and sweet; the vanilla bean offers a rich, smooth, creamy twist on the classic dessert; and the chocolate pie serves up a decadent cocoa-centric treat we can't recommend enough.

The new Mini Pies trio currently retails for $10.74, with the packaged dessert coming in six-pie serving portions (with two of each pie featured in the Member's Mark exclusive). While the dessert has proven incredibly popular among fans, some online users said the dessert looks almost a bit too cute to eat, given its adorable size and decorative design.

"They're too cute! Yum!" one fan said on Instagram.

"These look almost too pretty to eat!" another user agreed. "Almost."

Jinger Duggar Breaks Silence After Brother Joseph’s Disturbing Arrest

Wed, 03/25/2026 - 9:30am

Jinger Duggar is speaking out following the arrest of her brother, Joseph Duggar last week.

During a Wednesday, March 25 episode of the Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo podcast, which came out one week after her brother and his wife, Kendra Duggar’s arrest, Jinger and her husband Jeremy Vuolo addressed the situation directly, describing the news as deeply difficult to process. “This is devastating news to hear when we got the news, last week, and it's been a really difficult week,” Jeremy said.

Jinger opened up about the emotional toll the situation has taken. “It has been such a long week. It's been one of those weeks that feels like years,” she said. “And I did not think that my heart could break like it has this week.”

Rather than focusing on Jinger’s brother, Jeremy emphasized the impact on the alleged victim and others affected. “Thinking about the victim Who was brave enough to to share her story has been heartbreaking,” he said, adding that the ripple effects of the situation have been “unthinkable.”

“You can't be prepared for news like this, even though we've experienced something very similar before with one of my other siblings who made unthinkable choices and decisions that have affected all of us,” Jinger noted, referring to her older brother Josh Duggar, who was taken into custody in 2021 on possession of child sexual abuse material. “The pain and hurt that's caused to us, but then to so many others is just so hard.”

Joseph, 31, was arrested on March 18 and charged with lewd and lascivious behavior involving a minor. According to an affidavit, he allegedly admitted during a phone call with the victim’s father and a detective that “he touched the victim over her clothing.” The allegations stem from incidents said to have occurred in 2020, when the victim was just 9 years old.

Joseph made his first court appearance on March 20, where he did not enter a plea and waived extradition, agreeing to be transferred to Florida to face charges. Additional charges have also been filed in Arkansas involving child endangerment and false imprisonment.

In addition to the charges against Joseph, authorities have also filed separate charges in Arkansas involving his wife, Kendra. According to reports, both Joseph and Kendra are facing four counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, along with four counts of second-degree false imprisonment.

Steve Carell Reveals the Hollywood A-Lister Who Told Him Not to Audition for 'The Office'

Wed, 03/25/2026 - 9:29am

The Officebecame one of TV's most well-received mockumentary sitcoms, which skyrocketed the careers of some of its main cast members.Steve Carell, who infamously played Michael Scott, revealed a close actor friend told him auditioning wasn't a good idea.

While appearing on Amy Poehler's Good Hang podcast, the two comedians discussed how fans were angered when learning Ricky Gervais's original British comedy version was being remade by NBC. Poehler admits thinking it was a bad idea, and no one could "be as good as Ricky Gervais."

At the time The Office was casting for its main stars, Carrell was working with Paul Rudd in Anchorman in 2004. Carrell was thinking of auditioning for the role of the Dunder Mifflin regional manager when Rudd pulled him aside to give him some advice.

"Rudd pulled me aside and was like, 'Don't do it, man. Don't audition,'" Carell explained. "It was like, 'There is no way.'"

Related: ‘The Price Is Right’ Model Holly Hallstrom Drops Bombshell Truth Behind Her Firing: ‘I Was on His S–T List’

In the end, Carell admitted that Rudd's advice was to not touch the American remake with a "10-foot pole." The actor goes on to reveal that he has watched all of Gervais's other works besides The Office. At the time, he felt watching the original would hinder his audition.

"I watched a minute of one and he was so good and so specific and so funny, I thought, 'If I watch a second more, I'm just gonna go on an audition with that,'" said Carell.

While Poehler said the initial idea wasn't great, her mind changed when she heard that Carell was cast as Michael Scott. Despite its cast, including Carell, Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, B.J. Novak, Angela Kinsey, and other featured actors in the main roles, the pilot wasn't well-received.

"Our pilot was the lowest testing pilot in the history of NBC," Carell recalled. "People really hated it. They actively hated it. And I don't quite know how it got legs after that."

The Office barely made it to a Season 2 renewal, but ultimately became a TV hit that ran for nine seasons. It won two Screen Actors Guild Awards, a Golden Globe Award for Carell's performance, and five Primetime Emmy Awards, including one for Outstanding Comedy Series. Carrell left the series in Season 7, which some fans felt attributed to the show's decline.
