However, her kids wrote her a letter saying they were happy for her. This made her confident to leave the show in a relationship with John.
Libbyand Andrew Libby Vodicka and Andrew Wheeler on 'Age of Attraction'It was obvious that Libby Vodicka was one of the youngest cast members. The 22-year-old social media manager told Andrew Wheeler she didn't know who the Spice Girls were. Andrew committed to her and revealed he was 38 and had daughters.
The bar owner questioned if they could make it as a couple with their 16-year age gap. They took a chance by continuing their relationship.
Vanessa and Logan Vanessa Drozda and Logan Goodrid on 'Age of Attraction'This couple had problems throughout the season. Logan Goodrid put his foot in his mouth when he told Vanessa Drozda there was an obvious age difference between them. Vanessa, 49, complained that it felt like they were friends instead of romantic partners while they lived together.
Logan, 29, asked for Vanessa's promise ring back in the finale. Vanessa looked disappointed since she wanted to continue their relationship. Logan surprised her by proposing, and she said yes.
The show hoped to answer whether age matters when it comes to love. Four of the five remaining couples said yes, and one broke up. Soon we'll find out if these couples are still together.
These 3 March Books Are the Top Reads in Reese Witherspoon’s Book Club Look Back
Every month, Reese Witherspoon picks a must-read book for the month with her book club. That doesn’t mean other books released throughout the month or even before aren’t worth reading. In fact, at the end of the month, her newsletter tends to include a selection of novels worth trying, including look backs at previous releases from the same month years earlier.
March 2026 is no exception. Three novels made it to the list, with one of them being her book club pick for March. They delve into different genres, bringing something for everyone and just highlighting some of the great releases when there can be a lot happening at once.
‘Lady Tremaine’ by Rachel HochhauserOf course, the first novel on the list was the March pick, Lady Tremaine by Rachel Hochhauser. The novel gives us another look at a character who was once viewed as evil, but doesn’t everyone end up being a villain in someone else’s story? Set in a world where Etheldreda has been widowed twice-over, she now has to take care of her two children, her stepdaughter, and her peregrine falcon.
Ethel’s life is just a ruse, and it’s one that she needs to keep up until she can secure good marriages for her daughters. The royal ball is supposed to be a chance to do that, but it leads to the wrong child in her care landing a royal marriage. This is perfect for Bridgerton and Circe fans, while delivering a different side to the same story. After all, there are always two sides!
Broken Country by Clare Leslie HallReese's Book Club

‘Anita de Monte Laughs Last’ by Xóchitl GonzálezFinally, it’s over to Anita de Monte Laughs Last by Xóchitl González, which was released in March 2024, and was a nominee for Readers’ Favorite Historical Fiction of that year on Goodreads. Set in 1985, Anita de Monte has been found dead in New York City. At the time of her death, she was a rising star in the artworld, but by 1998, very few remember her.
That is until Raquel, who feels like an outsider among her privileged classmates at College Hill, stumbles upon Anita’s story. As she questions her own life and current dynamics, she also helps to bring the memory of a forgotten artist alive. It’s a beautiful tale that is thought-provoking and meaningful.

Love Is Blind’s Amber and Matt Barnett Celebrate Their Baby’s Birthday, Sharing Her Name
Since its initial Netflix streaming date in 2020, the Love Is Blind universe has grown to include over a dozen marriages and several babies. First-season fan-favorite couple Amber Pike and Matt Barnett joined co-stars like Bliss Poureetezadi, Zack Goytowski, Alexa AlfiaLemieux, and Brennon Lemieux in becoming parents when they welcomed a daughter in 2025. And while Amber didn’t announce it until April 6 of that year, her latest Instagram post reveals that her baby’s birth date is actually in March.
How did the Netflix couple’s relationship start?Like their castmates, Amber and (Matt) Barnett met in the pods. Per the show’s experiment, the pair fell in love without ever seeing each other. Of course, the beginning of their relationship wasn’t all roses and golden goblets of wine. Barnett was also dating co-star Jessica Batten at the time. But despite Batten’s attempts, she lost out to Pike. The couple married in the first season finale. And while the actual episode didn't air until 2020, the pair tied the knot IRL in November of 2018.
When did Amber and Matt Barnett have a baby?Even though they married shortly after meeting, Amber and Matt weren’t quick to jump into parenting. The Love Is Blind reality TV stars enjoyed their time together and eventually announced their pregnancy late in 2024. Their daughter (whom they referred to as Baby B) was born the following year, in 2025.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Amber revealed, “Baby Barnett has arrived and it's more perfect than anything I could’ve dreamed…I literally still can’t believe the hospital let us take her home and that she is actually ours.”
View this post on Instagram How did Amber and Matt Barnett celebrate their baby’s first birthday? The doting mom recently shared a new Instagram post to mark her baby girl’s first birthday. Along with a throwback to Baby B’s big birth day and a cute clip of the one-year-old toddling around the house, Amber wrote, “A year ago I was crying tears of joy and so thankful beyond words to have my sweet baby safely in my arms finally, every day since then I have been just as thankful that I get to love her with everything I have.”
She went on to add, “Being a mom is a strange contradiction, I’m excited every day to watch her grow and learn and I can’t wait to see who she becomes, but with every new thing she does I’m sad for what is ending and just want time to pause a little while longer while I try to burn every detail of every moment into my memory.” And we totally get it!
What is Amber and Matt Barnett’s baby’s name?Gone are the days of calling her Baby B. Amber continued her post, sharing, “Our precious Spencer Lillian Barnett, you are so clever and sweet and funny and just too beautiful for words.”
Dad also got in on the posting action, adding his own sweet sentiment, “One year of having Spencer Lillian in our lives! It's crazy how blessed we are to have such a sweet little girl!”
Major Morning Show Lands New Deal Just Days After Network Shake-Up
Just days after announcing some significant network shake ups, MS Now has secured a new deal for their morning team, Morning Joe co-anchors Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski.
On March 25, Axios reported that Scarborough and Brzezinski had reached a new deal with MS Now. Scarborough joked with the media outlet, "Four more years! — as they say at conventions."
Scarborough added, "Mika and I are excited to be staying with our Morning Joe family and friends who have been watching us regularly for almost 20 years."
"We're also grateful for the vote of confidence [MS Now President Rebecca Kutler and Versant CEO Mark Lazarus] have given us to stay with our Morning Joe team over the next four years."

The announcement of the new deal for Scarborough and Brzezinski comes just days after MS Now revealed significant lineup changes for the network. In a press release dated March 18, Versant detailed that Morning Joe would shift from four hours each weekday morning to just three.
Morning Joe will continue to begin at 6 a.m. Eastern, Monday through Friday mornings. Taking over the 9 a.m. Eastern hour will be Stephanie Ruhle, who will continue until 11 a.m. Eastern. Her move to the mornings gives Ali Velshi the opportunity to take over her current spot with The 11th Hour.
Other MS Now schedule changes include the departure of Ana Cabrera, and the shift to have Alicia Menendez anchor the 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Eastern block. In addition, Chris Jansing will depart her weekday block to become MS Now's chief political reporter.
Jacob Soboroff will anchor a block on both Saturdays and Sundays. All of the schedule shifts are slated to begin in June.
According to the New York Post, the decision by MS Now to trim Scarborough and Brzezinski's show by an hour was likely not an unwelcome change to the Morning Joe duo.
The media outlet noted that during a live event in October 2025, Brzezinski shared, "To be honest, I think before the election, there was a lot of discussion that we were having about maybe slowing down or figuring out when Morning Joe comes to an end."
She explained, "Because the hours — we are live from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. It's four hours every day and it's very heavy news."
The new deal with a slightly reduced schedule seems to have Scarborough and Brzezinski feeling good about the next four years with MS Now.
Little Debbie Is Making a Big Change to Its Iconic Snacks
Few things evoke nostalgia quite like a Little Debbie snack. But a major change to those familiar treats is already underway.
McKee Foods, the Tennessee-based maker of Little Debbie snacks, is phasing out artificial food dyes from its products by the end of 2027, according to a March 23 report from the Chattanooga Times Free Press. The company said it had already removed Red No. 3 from its products in January, about a year ahead of the FDA’s deadline, and is now focused on phasing out the remaining dyes.

Why Little Debbie Is Removing Artificial Food Dyes From Its SnacksThe move follows the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's action to reduce the use of artificial dyes in the food supply. In April 2025, the agency announced a national initiative to phase out several petroleum-based synthetic dyes, including Red No. 40, Yellow No. 5, and Blue No. 1, by the end of 2027, while also revoking authorization for Red No. 3. The FDA has said concerns from parents and doctors, along with a broader push toward alternative ingredients, are driving the shift.
Many familiar Little Debbie products could be affected. In some cases, the coloring comes from ingredients sourced through outside suppliers, including the candy-coated pieces used on Cosmic Brownies. McKee Foods said it is working with those suppliers to transition to alternative color ingredients. Other well-known products in the lineup include Swiss Rolls, Oatmeal Creme Pies, Fudge Rounds, and Nutty Buddy Wafer Bars.
Company spokesperson Mike Gloekler told the Chattanooga Times Free Press that the focus is on staying aligned with evolving regulations. “McKee Foods is committed to compliance with all federal and state regulations regarding ingredients, food safety, packaging, and labeling, and actively monitors the evolving regulatory landscape.” He added, "We stand behind the safety of our products, noting that the FDA has reviewed and certified the food dyes in question."
For families, the practical impact is fairly simple. The snacks that have been lunchbox staples for generations may just look a little less bright.
McKee Foods dates back to the Great Depression, when founder O.D. McKee sold snack cakes from the back of his car before he and his wife, Ruth, purchased a small bakery. Years later, the company introduced Little Debbie, named after their granddaughter, and it remains family-owned today.
Other major manufacturers, including General Mills and Kraft Heinz, are also moving toward simpler ingredient lists. For many families, it means the same foods they know, just with an updated look.

Blockbuster Space Epic Delivers the Second-Highest Opening of the Decade
Project Hail Mary, starring Ryan Gosling, is shattering box office expectations in its first weekend.
The space epic, with Gosling as Ryland Grace, a former science teacher who has no choice but to save the planet, took off to $140.9 million at the global box office since its release date on March 20, 2026.
The breakdown included $60.4 million from 82 international markets, along with $80.5 million in North America, per Variety.
It's officially the biggest debut of the year so far, at a time when the movie-going experience has hit a lull and needs a little bit of a nudge.
It rocketed past Scream 7, which brought in a $130.3 million globally, and didn't look back, while overtaking Creed II as the biggest start ever for Amazon.
Gosling in the driver's seat was a good choice, as Amazon MGM's distribution boss Kevin Wilson revealed that the La La Land actor was "a singular star that has the massive global appeal and charisma to anchor a story like this".
Though there's a lot working in the film's favor, boasting two directors with a promising track record. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who gave audiences 21 Jump Street and The Lego Movie, were in charge of the on-screen adaptation from the best-selling novel by Andy Weir, whose other novel served as the inspiration for Ridley Scott's seven-time Oscar nominee, The Martian, starring Matt Damon.
There's more records set by the Gosling-led adventure film, as it is now the third-biggest non-sequel and non-franchise film to open above $50 million overseas since the COVID pandemic, next to Christopher Nolan'sOppenheimer and F1: The Movie.
Boardroom and The Wrap note it's also the second-highest ever for a non-franchise film in the last decade, behind only Oppenheimer, which opened around $82–82.4 million.
View this post on InstagramMovie theaters have struggled to recover since the pandemic, with falling box office numbers, but Gosling may singlehandedly be one of the saviors, as he also starred in the highest-grossing film of 2023, Barbie.
And it's a job that he takes very seriously.
“Six years ago, I got the manuscript,” Gosling expressed of Project Hail Mary, adding that it's the "most ambitious thing I’ll ever make; it seemed impossible. It was too good not to give it a shot. Six years later, we did it. Here we are, we’re all back in theaters. It’s not your job to keep them open, it’s our job to make things that make it worth you coming out.”
Gosling may be a draw, but IndieWire mused that one of the reasons the film has captivated audiences was the allure of originality, highlighting that both Oscar winners One Battle After Another and Sinners weren't based on franchises.
“The debut of ‘Project Hail Mary’ a testament to the power of Andy Weir’s original novel and the efforts Lord and Miller made in being faithful with the adaptation,” analyst Shawn Robbins, director of movie analytics at Fandango and founder of Box Office Theory, told Variety, noting that people are "looking for escapsim from the real world's dire headlines."
"This is the kind of rare breed movie that will continue drawing audiences in cinemas for weeks to come.”
It seems Project Hail Mary was an ambitious yet successful Hail Mary for theaters.

Two Longtime ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Stars Are Exiting After Season 22
Kevin McKidd and Kim Raver will be leaving Grey's Anatomy at the end of Season 22.
According to Deadline, their last episode will be the Season 22 finale, which wrapped production this week and is set to air on May 7. The actors were informed they would leaving the medical drama more than a month ago.
McKidd, who plays Dr. Owen Hunt, has been a series regular on Grey's Anatomy since Season 5 in 2008. Raver, who portrays Dr. Teddy Altman, originally appeared in Seasons 6-8 from 2009 to 2012. She returned as a series regular in Season 15 in 2018 and has remained part of the main cast ever since.
McKidd and Raver's characters have been intertwined for most of their time on the show. What began as a friendship between two military surgeons eventually evolved into a marriage and a family, only for the most recent season to find them navigating a divorce and co-parenting.

Grey's Anatomy has yet to be officially renewed for another season, though Deadline reports a renewal is expected.
The outlet reported last month that the next season would likely come with budget cuts, including a reduced episode order compared to the 18-episode runs of the past two seasons.
While the departures of McKidd and Raver could help offset costs, their exits are believed to be a creative decision.
For fans invested in Owen and Teddy's relationship, Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes hinted at a "happy ending" for the pair.
“Over the years, we have had the privilege of watching Owen and Teddy’s love story evolve and deepen – two characters who always seem to find their way back to each other,” she said. “It is both bittersweet and joyful to give this couple the happy ending their story deserves.”
McKidd and Raver also addressed their exits via statements.
“Grey’s Anatomy has been a huge chapter of my life, creatively and personally, and I’m deeply grateful for everything the show has given me over the years,” McKidd said, according to Us Weekly. “Playing Dr. Owen Hunt and directing on the show have both shaped me enormously, and I’ve had the privilege of working with an extraordinary group of people throughout that time. I’m particularly thankful to Shonda Rhimes for creating Owen, and for the encouragement she gave me as I stepped into directing.”
“As that chapter comes to a close, I’m looking forward to what’s ahead — building new work, telling new stories and taking everything I’ve learned into the next phase of my career," he added.
“Playing Dr. Teddy Altman will always hold a dear and special place in my heart. Sixteen years ago, I had the incredible privilege of stepping into this role thanks to the vision of Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers,” Raver wrote in her statement via Instagram. “Since that day, it has been a true gift to bring the iconic words of Shonda and our brilliant team of writers to life. … To the fans — your unwavering devotion and support are the reason this show remains such a force. Thank you for making this set my place of magic and my home.”
Grey’s Anatomy showrunner Meg Marinis also noted that Raver and McKidd could return in the future for guest appearances.
“While their story is coming to a close, this is never truly a goodbye,” Marinis said. “We are endlessly grateful for the years, the artistry and the memories they’ve given to the show and we look forward to cheering them on in whatever comes next.”
Grey’s Anatomy airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. Episodes are available next day on Hulu.
We Asked 4 Brain Doctors the Best Daily Habit for Memory—Their Answers Were Identical
As we get older, the fear of memory loss can become very real. An estimated 6.7 million people in the U.S. have Alzheimer’s disease, which is the most common form of dementia.
Alzheimer’s is so prevalent that you can likely think of at least one person who was diagnosed. Perhaps you’ve seen the devastating effects of Alzheimer’s first-hand, seeing a loved one slowly forget who you are, lose their most precious memories and experience an entire personality change.
If you could take a pill every day to significantly lower your risk of dementia, would you take it? It’s safe to say that many people would. While no such pill exists, there is a daily habit that has an extremely powerful impact on the brain, including lowering the risk of dementia. This habit not only helps preserve long-term memory; it also helps with short-term memory, making it an effective habit for staying mentally sharp right now.
Related: 'I've Spent 40 Years Studying the Brain, and This Is the #1 Habit I Recommend for Memory Retention'
Here, four neurologists reveal what this powerful habit is; something that is more effective than any drug. The best part? It’s 100 percent free and is accessible to everyone. Keep reading to find out why it’s so effective for preserving brain health both now and in the future.

The Best Daily Habit for Memory, According to 4 Brain DoctorsWe talked to four neurologists and every single one of them said that going on a daily walk can have a profound impact on brain health, including memory. “There is strong evidence that aerobic activity, which includes walking, supports neurogenesis [the process in which new neurons are created], especially in the hippocampus, which is central to our ability to form memories,” says Dr. Joel Salinas, MD, a cognitive-behavioral neurologist at NYU Langone Health and the chief medical officer at Isaac Health, a virtual clinic for brain health and dementia.
Dr. Salinas explains that walking increases levels of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), which is a special molecule that acts like a “fertilizer” for brain cells, because it helps neurons grow and strengthen connections between existing ones. “This is especially important as we age and natural neurogenesis slows,” he says.
Related: Stop Doing This by Age 60 To Protect Your Memory, Neurologists Say
Dr. Sarah Buckingham, MD,a neurologist specializing in dementia with Stamford Health, says that walking is neuroprotective for the brain, which means it literally slows down brain aging.
Dr. Buckingham explains that as we get older, the brain naturally shrinks, including the areas involved with memory. But, as Dr. Salinas explained, scientific evidence shows that walking increases blood flow to the brain and promotes neurogenesis, which is the process that creates new neurons. This can lead to making the hippocampus (the part of the brain responsible for learning and memory) bigger. Yes, walking can literally increase the size of your brain!
“The hippocampus is one of the most important structures in the brain for learning and memory. It acts like a memory processing center, helping us convert daily experiences into long-term memories. Unlike many other brain regions, the hippocampus is particularly sensitive to blood flow,” says Dr. Majid Fotuhi, MD, PhD, a neurologist and the author of The Invincible Brain.
Related: 8 Foods to Eat Daily for Better Memory, According to RDs
This is why walking—which increases blood flow to the brain—is so powerful. “Walking is one of the simplest ways to support healthy blood flow to the brain. Regular walking improves cardiovascular fitness, reduces stiffness in blood vessels and increases the delivery of oxygen and glucose to brain cells. This helps the hippocampus function efficiently and maintain its structure over time,” Dr. Fotuhi says.
All four neurologists we talked to say that walking can lower the risk of dementia and Alzheimer’s.
“Physical activity appears to reduce accumulation and aggregation of toxic Alzheimer’s-related proteins, called amyloid and tau. Some studies suggest that higher levels of daily steps are associated with lower levels of amyloid and tau proteins in the brain,” Dr. Fotuhi says. In other words, the more you walk, the more your brain will benefit!
How far should you walk each day to reap the dementia-lowering benefits of walking? Dr. Fotuhi says that one recent scientific study found that people who walked between 3,000 and 7,500 steps a day showed a reduction in tau proteins in the brain, making it a good goal to aim for.
According to Dr. Buckingham, people who already have dementia can benefit from daily walking too. She explains that, as with anyone else, walking slows the process of aging in the brain in people with dementia. This, she says, can lead to symptoms progressing more slowly, sharing, “People with dementia also do better when they socialize, so walking with a group or one other person can be beneficial too."
Ways Walking Benefits Short-Term Brain HealthWhile walking has repeatedly been scientifically shown to benefit long-term brain health, Dr. Masud Husain, FRCP, FMedSci, a professor of neurology and cognitive neuroscience at the University of Oxford and the author of Our Brains, Our Selves, says that there is some evidence showing that walking may improve short-term or working memory as well as executive functions, such as following instructions, solving problems and making decisions. That means if you have an important work task ahead of you, going for a walk before getting started could help you do a better job.
According to Dr. Husain, walking can also improve mood by lessening anxiety and depression as well as increasing motivation. Dr. Salinas agrees, adding that walking helps decrease stress and can also lead to better sleep, which both support mental health. Scientific research shows that, especially when walking is done in nature or socially, it can profoundly benefit mental health.
“Even a single short walk during the day can have immediate benefits. After getting a walk in, you might notice improved attention, fast processing speed and clearer thinking throughout the day. It’s partially due to the increased blood flow, but also changes to neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin, which influence focus and mood,” Dr. Salinas says.
To really benefit from walking, Dr. Salinas emphasizes that it needs to be done habitually. “Brain health is heavily influenced by consistency over time,” he says. But he emphasizes that this is one reason why walking has been shown to work: It’s accessible and free, making it an easy habit to stick with.
It’s empowering to know that you have readily access to something so effective. Going on a daily walk is one of the very best habits you can make. Why not take advantage of it?

Howie Mandel, 70, Calls Out Kelly Ripa, 55, for Using Ageist Language
In a bit of tense moment on Live with Kelly and Mark this week, host Kelly Ripa, 55, got called out very openly for using some ageist language. Comedian and television host Howie Mandel, who just celebrated his 70th birthday, directly confronts Ripa for using the prevalent "you look great FOR YOUR AGE" jab. Yes, it's a jab. Here's why.
The conversation starts out simple enough. Ripa and her co-host husband Mark Consuelosopen up the chat with Mandel congratulating him on his recent 70-year milestone birthday. "Yes, I'm 70," Mandel says, smiling to the live audience.
Ripa cheerfully interrupts Mandel then, saying, "That doesn't make any sense."
"What do you mean that doesn't make any sense?" Mandel immediately and defensively snipes back.
And Ripa continues to say, "Because you look..."
"I don't like that," Mandel stops Ripa, calling out both her and Consuelos for putting his healthy, fit looks directly in context with his age.
Ripa tries to counter, "We're not saying you look great for 70. You. Look. Great."
Mandel refutes again, adding the hilarious line, ""It's like saying you're smart for a stupid person."
Mandel is not wrong. Many of us are guilty of using this kind of ageist language, but it actually is an underhanded jab whether we're conscious of it or not. Making the assumption that a person will look or present a certain way based on how old they are is ageism at its best.
Sure, we know Ripa likely didn't mean anything cruel by it. She's talked openly about her own experiences with ageism and condemned the unrealistic societal expectations around aging, especially for women. However, it's an important callout for sure. After all, it's this exact kind of bias that leads to age discrimination all over the place in our looks-, fitness-, and beauty-obsessed society.
Surely, more women in Hollywood face this kind of everyday prejudice than men, but it's important for men to call it out when they see it too.

View this post on InstagramHow to Pull Off a Winning Kentucky Derby Look Without Ever Leaving the House
The 152nd Kentucky Derby is still months away, but Churchill Downs just fired the starting pistol for the real main event: the fashion. The two minutes of racing is the backdrop for ‘fits. The third annual Kentucky Derby Style Guide has officially dropped, and for 2026, the track is being rebranded as a literal art gallery. If you’re planning to hit Louisville on May 2, or just sipping a julep on your couch, the style guide turns the legendary race into a reason to go all out.
Churchill Downs Racetrack just unveiled its 2026 Style Guide, and it’s an update from the unwritten dress codes of decades past. This year, the guide, curated for the third year running by style editor Zanna Roberts Rassi, sees Derby style as a mashup of high fashion and high art.
"Derby fashion is about much more than the clothes you're wearing, it's about the creative process," Roberts Rassi said in a statement. "From playing with color and texture to drawing inspiration from the world around us and your mood within, Derby style empowers people to channel their creativity in new and unexpected ways."
This year, the racetrack tapped official Derby artist Grayson Reynolds, a Kentucky native whose work is woven into the guide. Reynolds’ illustrations of horses and roses set the tone for a year that’s obsessed with maximalist"expression.
View this post on InstagramFor 2026 there is a pivot toward deeply saturated colors and 3D textured flower fabrics that look like they’re growing right off the lapels and fascinators. The vibe is dramatic, architectural, and unapologetically loud.
A Derby look without a hat is just a Sunday dress. This year’s featured milliners are Formé Millinery, The Hat Girls, and Christine A. Moore. The featured looks are leaning into maximalist fascinators and sculptural shapes.
Rassi’s tips for the season is to think big. "Hats First! It's hats, THEN horses in my book," she says. "Choose your headwear first and then plan your look around it. This is your personality piece." Expect to see exaggerated disc silhouettes, cartwheel hats that offer a "little mystery and lots of drama," and a revival of 1950s Old Hollywood glamour with veils and turbans.
For the veterans who know that Churchill Downs is a marathon, not a sprint, the guide addresses the elephant in the paddock: comfort. The 2026 forecast includes a wedge revival and woven ballet flats that actually let you walk to the betting window without a blister kit.
"Fashion and art have always gone hand in hand, and the Kentucky Derby is a perfect example of that connection," Michelle Walkup, marketing director for the racetrack said in a statement. "We are excited to use the pages of this year's lookbook to show how Derby continues to serve as a canvas for artistry, fashion, beauty and expression."
Iconic '70s Singer, With Classic No. 1 Hit Song, Turns 79
Congratulations are in order for Iconic singer Elton John, who is celebrating a big birthday.
John turns 79 on Wednesday, another highlight in the midst of a career that has spanned more than five decades and produced some of the most recognizable songs in pop and rock history. Rising to fame in the early 1970s, he quickly became known for his flamboyant style, powerful piano-driven sound and unforgettable melodies.
One of his earliest No. 1 hits, "Crocodile Rock," helped cement his status as a global superstar. The upbeat, nostalgic track topped the Billboard Hot 100 and became one of his signature songs, capturing the playful energy that defined much of his early work. Funnily enough, John himself has never been a fan of the hit song.
“The last time I have to sing 'Crocodile Rock' I will probably throw a party," he confessed in a 2021 interview. "But people love to hear it. It was written as a kind of joke, as a pastiche, and it became a big hit and people love to sing along with it. Who am I to say, 'I am not going to play it,' because I play to amuse people and to entertain people," he continued. "But I have to say when the last show is done at the end of the tour, I will never ever sing that song again."
But “Crocodile Rock” was just the beginning. Over the years, Elton John racked up a string of chart-topping hits, including "Bennie and the Jets," "Philadelphia Freedom," "Island Girl" and later, the record-breaking "Candle in the Wind 1997," which became one of the best-selling singles of all time.
Known for his long-running collaboration with songwriter Bernie Taupin, John's music has blended pop, rock and theatrical flair in a way that continues to resonate across generations.
In more recent years, John has continued to stay firmly in the spotlight, even as he stepped away from touring. After wrapping his record-breaking Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour in 2023, he shifted his focus to new creative projects, including collaborations with contemporary artists and work on musical and film ventures.
"When we set off on my final tour in 2018, I couldn't have foreseen in my wildest dreams the twists and turns and the highs and lows this tour – and the whole world – would have experienced in the next five years,” he wrote on Instagram. "And every step of the way, my fans have been there."
As Elton John turns 79, his legacy as one of the most influential artists of all time remains firmly intact—driven by a catalog of hits that continue to define the sound of modern music.

I Tried Victoria Beckham’s Satin Kajal Eyeliner for 5 Months—Is It Worth the Hype?
Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.
Victoria Beckham Beauty’s Satin Kajal Eyeliner is a star of the beauty world—a frequent editor pick in best-of beauty roundups, and a product that can likely be found in every makeup artists' bag. Experts consistently laud its super-creamy texture, its beautiful shades and its long wear.
When it first came out in 2019, it piqued my interest, but it's expensive for an eyeliner at $35, so I never bought it, wrongfully assuming a celebrity-founded beauty brand couldn't bring the goods. But then it kept on getting mentions and winning awards. And after several makeup artists told Parade how great the product is for mature eyes, including hooded eyes, I wanted to see for myself how well it actually performs in a real-life routine. And now, I definitely believe (and have experienced) the hype.
Last September, I purchased my first Victoria Beckham eyeliner ("terracotta"), and then got a second color ("cocoa") in quick succession. I've used them both regularly ever since. Here's why.

What’s Different About Victoria Beckham’s Eyeliner? The formula of Victoria Beckham's eyeliner is considered "clean"—it's vegan, not tested on animals and excludes more than 30 controversial and potentially-harmful ingredients such as parabens and phthalates. (That's important to consider since you're basically sticking it in your eye.)
The formula is dermatologically tested and includes chamomile extract for it's anti-inflammatory benefits, panthenol for hydration, vitamin E as an antioxidant and mineral-based silica pearl, which is a substitute for more common glitter ingredients that contain microplastics.
Even though it's easy to blend, it's also smudge-proof and waterproof and has thousands of 5-star reviews on Victoria Beckham Beauty's site, including:
- "This pencil is amazing! I'm a makeup artist so I go through eye pencils quickly!"
- "I really liked the eyeliner, the color is beautiful with glitter."
- "Bought these on a whim - the cinnamon color and the greenish gold. Goes on smoothly and bold color. Lasts all day. Love!"
- "First, I absolutely love how smoothly this goes on my 60+ year old eyes. It doesn’t get stuck or weirdly feathered like some other liners as happens with older skin. Second, the built in smudges is genius! I like a subtle smoky eye and this is perfect. Third, it stays on even out enjoying outdoor pool and other humid activities! I bought several colors and the ones with the subtle yet striking shimmer are just amazing!"

My First Impressions of Victoria Beckham's Satin Kajal EyelinerSheila Baylis
Shop It at Victoria Beckham BeautyThe first time I used it, I put way too much on. The pigment is strong and the truly creamy formula applies with very little effort, so I had a bit of a raccoon situation before I used a cotton swab and some micellar water to remove the extra product.
Unlike many liners, you don’t have to press hard on the delicate eye area or go over a line more than once. It glides on very easily and melts into the skin, so there's no effort to blend it out with the smudge tool right after applying it.
Related: The French-Inspired Eye Makeup Trend That’s Flattering at Any Age
The colors (20 options!) are another standout. The pigments are beautiful and have enough depth that you don’t need to layer them to get noticeable definition.
Through the first full day of wear, it held up better than I expected for a soft pencil. Once it set, it didn’t run, and I didn’t feel like I needed to constantly check it or reapply. It comes off easily with makeup remover.

My Experience Using It for 5 MonthsI don't wear eyeliner every day. In fact, I don't wear eye makeup every day. But after using the Satin Kajal liner regularly for five months, it’s become my go-to pencil. I never made the raccoon eyes mistake again—now I apply very little product to the outer corners of my eyes and use the smudge tool on the end to do the rest.
Here I am without any eye makeup:
Sheila Baylis
I'm obviously not a makeup artist, but I just apply the liner to the outer corners since I am almost Victoria Beckham's age and I have small eyes. I blend it quite a bit, but you could get a precise line around the entire eye if you wanted one. The smudge tool makes it easy to control the product without needing an extra brush. Even people who have no idea how to do a smokey eye could achieve one with this pencil.

Here's me with liner only:
Sheila Baylis
It works well on its own, but it complements shadow well if you wanted to do a full eye look. The formula has stayed consistent over time. It’s still creamy and easy to apply, as long as I keep the pencil sharpened.
Here I am with the liner and mascara (now I just need to get my hair done!):

Final Takeaways: Is the Victoria Beckham Satin Kajal Eyeliner Worth It?This $35 product is absolutely worth the extra money. I recommend it for mature women like me, and you can use it for a bit of definition or a full dark, smokey eye. Either way, you don't need to use much product, so it should last you for a long time. The pencil has also been reliable. It doesn’t run or melt, although to be fair, I have worn it only through the winter months and apart from a quick Florida trip where it performed well, I haven't tested it regularly in hot summer weather.
I haven't had any issues with it breaking, like many pencils do, and it's a perfect tool for beginners because It glides on so easily.
All 20 shades seem gorgeous—I have "terracotta" and "cocoa" (pictured here) to complement blue eyes, but I would happily try the others (I currently have "fig" on my wishlist). The Victoria Beckham website even has an eye-matching tool that helps you find your best shade. Enjoy!

Jo Dee Messina Looks Svelte After Weight Loss Transformation: ‘This Isn’t, Hey, Let’s Pop a Pill'
Jo Dee Messina is opening up about her weight loss transformation.
Messina, 55, who released her self-titled debut album in 1996, debuted with the hit single “Heads Carolina, Tails California.” Her second album, “I’m Alright,” racked up plenty of hit singles as well, and the country rocker earned plenty of acclaim for her talents. In a new interview, the country queen shared why she decided to get fit and lose weight in the gym, instead of using a GLP-1.
"I started to see pictures of myself and I didn't recognize myself," Messina told host Evan Paul on the Taste of Country podcast. "I wouldn't let people take pictures. I'm like, 'Stop taking pictures of me. I don't even know who that is.' It's so gross, you know? So I was like, 'I'm going to do something about it. And it's been two years.' "
Messina went on to say that weight loss drugs like pills and injectables like Ozempic just aren't for her.
"This isn't like, hey, let's pop a pill and be skinny in a month. This is like, keep going, keep going, keep going," she explained, noting that she was sore because "yesterday was leg day [in the gym] which — I can't stand leg day." She added that her trainer will "change up my routine every four to six weeks. And so it was all new exercises."
Check out Messina's full interview here:

Did a Label Really Say They Wouldn’t Sign Her Because She Was ‘Too Fat’?While Messina has built a thriving career for herself, she recently shared during an appearance on The Bobby Bones Show that a music label once told her they wouldn’t sign her because she wasn’t skinny enough to be a star.
“They said I was too fat,” Messina revealed during the interview. “They told my producer that, ‘Oh, if she was 10 pounds lighter, we would have signed her,’ is what they said… And I was devastated.”
However, it was the advice of her older sister that encouraged her to keep fighting for a place in the music industry.
“I said, ‘I did this showcase and I didn’t get the record deal. They passed.’ And she’s like, ‘Yes!’ I was like, ‘What do you mean, yes?'” Messina recalled. “She’s like, ‘Oh, they say you have to get passed on a thousand times before you get a deal… Now you only have 999 left.'”

When Will Jo Dee Messina Release a New Album?Messina’s fans will finally get a new album from the singer, who is set to release “Bridges,” her first studio album in 12 years, this summer. Last week, Messina took to Instagram to announce the release of the album’s first single, “Some Bridges.”
“IT’S HERE!!!!!!!! Go stream it now! Wahooo!!!!!! 💜💜💜,” Messina captioned her fun video announcement, which showed the redheaded beauty in a cropped blue sweater and jeans.
View this post on InstagramGates McFadden Says She Spent Seven Years Asking to Direct 'Star Trek'
Gates McFadden had been asking to direct Star Trek: The Next Generation since the first day of production. For most of seven seasons, nobody said yes. When they finally did, Patrick Stewart made it clear he wasn't entirely on board.
McFadden got one episode, the seventh-season horror entry 'Genesis,' in which the crew devolves into primitive creatures. She came in prepared. She'd walked every set on the ship looking for unused angles, choreographed her opening scene with stand-ins before shooting began, and had a clear vision for how the episode should feel. Then Stewart dug in on a camera choice she was certain would work.
'He was really resistant,' McFadden said in a recent interview with the podcast Stage Trek. She asked him to do it anyway. He did. 'Later he said, 'It did work. I'm sorry.' He was a little pissed off, you know.'
Stewart wasn't the only resistant castmate. Michael Dorn balked at a scene McFadden wanted to shoot in his quarters. Dwight Schultz, by contrast, had to be reined in, he was so committed she had to pull him back from giving too much away too early.
She says she'd already made one significant unilateral call before any of that. A scene written as Counselor Troi relaxing in a bubble bath became something far stranger ; Troi face-down in the tub, still in uniform, hair falling out. Marina Sirtis wasn't enthusiastic. McFadden held firm. It became the episode's most arresting image.
McFadden had wanted to direct since watching Frakes, Burton, and Stewart all get their chances while hers kept not coming. She says she believes the informal mentorship pipeline that moved male cast members into the director's chair was never made available to her. She said as a woman, she couldn't just walk into the writers' room, sit down, and build those relationships the way her male colleagues could. 'The men show each other how to do it,' she said. 'They don't always do that for the women.'
When she finished 'Genesis,' both the makeup department head and the episode's editor wanted to submit their work for Emmy consideration. The studio blocked both of them, reserving the nomination push for the series finale.
Rick Berman sent her a two-word note: great rushes. She never directed another episode.
The Northridge earthquake had struck mid-production, inflating costs. Whatever momentum she might have carried out of 'Genesis' didn't survive the budget conversation. No one ever told her specifically why she wasn't asked back. She still doesn't have a clear answer.
McFadden eventually sold her Star Trek memorabilia and used the proceeds to build a theater in Los Angeles, where she directed new plays for years. She calls the 'Genesis' shooting week her favorite of the entire series.
Stewart came around. The institution, less so.
