1977 Classic Rock Album Is Suddenly Having a Massive Comeback on the Charts

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 2:49pm

Nearly 50 years after its release, Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours is once again proving it will never go out of style.

The legendary 1977 album is currently sitting at No. 3 on Billboard’s Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart, marking yet another major comeback moment for one of the most successful records in music history.

Originally released on February 4, 1977, Rumours has long been considered a classic—but what’s especially impressive is how consistently it continues finding new audiences decades later. Thanks to streaming and TikTok trends, younger listeners are discovering Fleetwood Mac for the first time, making sure it stays relevant across generations.

Rumours has sold more than 40 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling albums of all time. Nearly five decades after it first dropped, the album is also still charting on the Billboard 200, currently sitting at No. 25.

The album famously came together during one of the most chaotic periods in Fleetwood Mac history. At the time, nearly every major relationship within the band was falling apart. Stevie Nicksand Lindsey Buckingham had ended their relationship, Christine and John McVie were divorcing, and Mick Fleetwood was dealing with marital issues of his own.

Thankfully for us, the band prevailed, and created what many consider one of rock music’s defining albums.

“We refused to let our feelings derail our commitment to the music, no matter how complicated or intertwined they became,” Fleetwood later wrote in his memoir Play On. “No matter what, we played through the hurt.”

Rumors produced several massive hits that continue to dominate streaming platforms and classic rock playlists today. “Dreams” became Fleetwood Mac’s only No. 1 single in the United States, topping the Billboard Hot 100 on June 18, 1977, and remaining on the chart for 23 weeks. Meanwhile, “Don’t Stop” climbed to No. 3 later that year and spent 18 weeks on the chart.

Other hits on the album also continue to find new life. “The Chain” is currently climbing Billboard’s Rock Streaming Songs and has now spent more than 100 weeks on the ranking.

Clearly, Rumours still knows how to “go its own way” up the charts.

Grammy-Nominated Guitarist Who Helped Fuel the Classic Rock Revival of the ’90s Turns 57

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 2:46pm

In an era dominated by grunge and alternative rock, Rich Robinson of The Black Crowes helped fuel the revival of classic rock. Bringing grit, swagger, and Southern soul to the mainstream, he and his older brother, Chris Robinson, built one of the defining rock bands of the 1990s

So today, as Rich turns 57, we’re raising a glass to the guitarist who helped make rock and roll feel timeless again. And we’re not the only ones. Fans are joining in on social media.

Posted to the band’s official Instagram page today, a birthday tribute reads, “Happy birthday to the one and only, young @richrobinson!” The caption accompanies a carousel of five images, all featuring Rich with his guitar.

“All time favorite band!” one fan commented.

“Hbd riff king,” another said.

“Happy birthday Rich so thankful for your existence and all you do,” another shared.

“Keep riffing Rich!” yet another wrote.

The musical mastermind behind the band, Rich serves as founder, guitarist, primary songwriter, and original member since 1984. Penning nearly all of The Black Crowes’ discography, he’s been the musical force behind their signature bluesy sound and open-G guitar riffs, adding color to acoustic ballads and hard-Southern rock anthems.

Standout tracks include “She Talks to Angels,” “Remedy,” “Thorn in My Pride,” and “Jealous Again,” with their 1990 cover of soul legend Otis Redding's "Hard to Handle" showcasing a masterful blues-rock solo from Rich.

In 1991, The Black Crowes were nominated for a Best New Artist Grammyat the 33rd annual show. They lost to Mariah Carey. And last year, they were nominated for their second Grammy — this one for Best Rock Album for Happiness Bastards, which features favorites “Wanting and Waiting,” “Bedside Manners,” and “Flesh Wound.” Again, they lost. This time to The Rolling Stones

Still, 10 studio albums, four live albums, and numerous charting singles later, the band treks on. Currently, the brothers Robinson are on tour, hitting pit stops across the country and Europe on their Southern Hospitality Tour, which kicked off May 17 and features co-headliners Whiskey Myers.

Happy birthday, Rich!

Mark Ballas Surprises Fans with Cameo in Off-Broadway Show Starring Whitney Leavitt's Husband

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 2:43pm

Mark Ballas just got some more stage time.

Over the weekend, the Dancing with the Starsstaple made a surprise cameo in the Off-Broadway production of '11 to Midnight,' which stars Whitney Leavitt's husband, Conner.

The show, created by viral dance duo Cost n’ Mayor (Austin and Marideth Telenko), that tells the stories of seven friends through dance, regularly includes an audience member during a specific scene. For Conner's debut performance earlier this month, Whitney was called up on stage — just after she played Roxie Hart for the last time during her run in 'Chicago: The Musical' on Broadway.

And less than two weeks later, it was her former DWTS-partner-turned-'Chicago'-co-star's turn.

View this post on Instagram

"@markballas absolutely crushed it!!!" the show's Instagram account wrote of his performance.

"Good times. Had a blast at the show. Congrats to all," he replied in the comments.

Fans also loved the fact that Ballas made the appearance, as he also recently wrapped up his Broadway stint alongside Whitney.

"Iconic!" one wrote, while another said, "This is seriously so amazing."

Another gushed about the friendship between Ballas and the Leavitts, since the three became close following the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives success during the most recent season of DWTS.

"Love that the 3 of you are like siblings now," they said. "It’s precious to see."

One commenter, however, suggested that the show's creators be cast for the ballroom dance competition show.

"I suggest Cost n' Mayor be on Dancing With the Stars!!" the Instagram user said.

Beyond Whitney and Ballas joining the cast of '11 to Midnight' on stage, Dr. Holly Hatcher-Frazier, the mom of Conner's co-star, Nia Sioux— both known from Dance Moms — also participated in the show last week.

"I love being able to share such special moments with my best friend," Sioux wrote of sharing the stage with her mom.

'11 to Midnight' also stars Glee star Heather Morris who also competed on Dancing with the Stars in Season 24.

Connor will be starring in the show until May 27.

John Cena’s Surprising ‘Guilty Pleasure’ Is a Netflix Reality Show and He’s Hoping for ‘A Cameo'

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 2:33pm

John Cena has done some really impressive things during his decades-long career, but his current aspiration is to land a cameo on his favorite Netflix reality show. He made that admission to PEOPLE at the Netflix Upfronts in New York City on May 23.

When Cena was asked if he had a "guilty pleasure" show that he loved to watch, the former WWE champion answered, "Loves me some Secret Millionaire." The show he is talking about is Million Dollar Secret.

In it, one contestant starts the show with $1 million. The other 11 pursue the "secret millionaire" over the countryside in hopes of capturing them and keeping the money for themselves.

🎬SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox🎬

Million Dollar Secret premiered on Netflix in 2025, while a second season dropped on the streaming giant on Apr. 15, 2026.

"I think it's a sleeper," Cena said of the show, which has been considered a smash hit. "Folks should check it out. I love the show."

Million Dollar Secret hasn't been renewed for Season 3 yet, but if that does happen, Cena is hoping for "a cameo of some sorts in the future."

So far, things are looking good for the future of the show and that should make viewers happy. After all, in the weeks following the Season 2 finale, the call for another season has been loud.

On Reddit, a forum dedicated to the Netflix reality series started discussing a renewal weeks ago with one big fan writing, "If it was up to me, this show would have 10+ seasons."

Another wrote, "I think there's a good chance. Netflix is struggling with game shows, but this one seems to do well enough at least in the US. I was more worried after S1 because the production costs seem high."

"I started on season 2 and I was absolutely obsessed from the first episode. This show is pure joy to watch. I liked season 1 too," a third shared.

Beartooth Bassist Oshie Bichar Shows Support for Caleb Shomo After He Came Out as ‘Proudly Gay Man'

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 2:30pm

Beartooth frontman Caleb Shomo took to Instagram to make a brave announcement, revealing that he is a “proudly gay man." And he is receiving support from his bandmate, bassist Oshie Bichar.

Bichar re-shared Shomo's long statement on Instagram, adding a read heart emoji.

Shomo made the decision to speak out due to the speculation surrounding his sexuality in recent months.

“There’s been a lot of speculation surrounding my personal life as of late, and I feel compelled to set the record straight before it affects those I love any further,” Shomo wrote on Instagram. “I am a proudly gay man.”

He added that this is "been difficult to navigate."

"When it comes to my art/Beartooth, I have always strived to chase who I am in the deepest part of my soul from album to album," Shomo explained. “I spent a decade burying feelings with alcohol, and honestly, when I decided to put it down and focus on exploring why I felt this way for so long, it's been a direct path to me reconciling with my sexuality in hopes that it will eventually lead me to experiencing self-love."

This news comes after he and his wife, Fleur, divorced after 14 years together.

Fleur also shared a statement on Instagram, reacting to the news.

"The past few months have been a very disorientating and hurtful time to navigate. For both of us. But I will always want to love, protect and support Caleb. I have cared more about his well being over the years than anything else in the world," she wrote on Instagram. "To see the confusion and pain he went through and the highs and lows and wanting to help and not knowing how. You never want anything more for your person than for them to just be ok."

1991 Hit that Cemented Band as 'Greatest of All Time in Grunge' was Almost Never Released

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 2:25pm

In 1991, lead sing and guitarist for the band Nirvana, Kurt Cobain, was working on tracks for what would become their second album, Nevermind.

Heavily inspired by The Pixies, Cobain came up with a guitar riff and a melody for the chorus and presented it to the other members of the band. Cobain said he thought the riff was "too mainstream and cliché" and and Nirvana's bassist, Krist Novoselic thought it was a "ridiculous" track. They almost scrapped what Cobain had been working on, but instead they opted to play it together for an hour and half. That jam session resulted in the final composition, and the only song on Nevermind that would credit all three members as writers.

The song would become what we now know today as a one of the best-selling songs of all time: "Smells Like Teen Spirit."

Further adding the the tracks divisiveness was the fact that Cobain's lyrics and singing style were borderline impossible to make out. Nevermind also included no liner notes, and radios complained stated, "We can't play this. [We] can't understand what the guy is saying." Despite being the lead single from Nevermind, "Smells Like Teen Spirit" failed to chart upon inital release.

However, the track became intensely popular after the fact. When MTV released the video in September of 1991, it became so popular at late night that the music channel opted to run it during daytime as well. Critics called it "an anthem for (or is it against?) the 'Why Ask Why?' generation." "Smells Like Teen Spirit" has gone on to one of the best-selling tracks of all time, at over 13 million copies sold worldwide.

Nirvana and Cobain became increasingly uncomfortable with how popular the track became, and even began omitting it from live performances. Cobain even said to Rolling Stone, "I still like playing 'Teen Spirit', but it's almost an embarrassment to play it. Everyone has focused on that song so much."

"Smells Like Teen Spirit" has gone on to be regarded as one of the best songs of all time. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame labeled it a song that "shaped rock and roll" and the Recording Industry Association of America ranked the song at number eighty on their list of "Songs of the Century."

The legacy of Nirvana and "Smells Like Teen Spirit" make it clear, it's a good thing the song was released and generations will thank the band for making it happen.

I Tried 12 Frozen Lasagnas to Find the Best—and the Winner Won by a Landslide

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 2:22pm

Frozen lasagna has been saving dinner in American households for decades. It’s the dependable freezer staple that shows up when nobody feels like cooking, when unexpected guests arrive, or when you simply want something warm, cheesy and comforting after a long day. There’s something deeply nostalgic about peeling back foil from a bubbling tray of lasagna while the smell of tomato sauce and melted mozzarella fills the kitchen.

For many families, frozen lasagna was the “special easy dinner” before takeout apps existed. It sat proudly beside frozen pizzas and TV dinners as one of the great convenience foods that somehow managed to feel homemade enough to count as real comfort food.

Over the years, the best frozen lasagnas have evolved far beyond the basic cafeteria-style trays many of us grew up eating. Grocery stores now carry everything from bargain family packs to premium versions boasting imported cheeses, slow-simmered sauces and artisanal pasta. Iconic brands like Stouffer’s compete with grocery store labels, trendy refrigerated options and even celebrity chef creations.

Some promise thick layers of ricotta and meat sauce, while others lean heavily into fresh herbs or rich Bolognese flavors. But let’s be honest—not every frozen lasagna deserves precious freezer space. Some are cheesy masterpieces that rival restaurant dishes, while others leave your taste buds disappointed.

Armed with a fork and plenty of appetite, I baked and sampled 12 frozen lasagnas to determine which ones deserve a spot in the freezer aisle hall of fame—and which ones did not.

Related: I Tried 10 Frozen Chicken Pot Pies and Ranked Them Worst to Best

How I Chose the Lasagnas

I wanted this ranking to represent the kinds of lasagnas most people would actually buy during a normal grocery run. That meant including classic household names, store brands, premium options and a few newer contenders that have recently gained popularity.

I searched major grocery chains and warehouse stores like Aldi, Walmart, Costco, Trader Joe’s, Meijer and Target to create a lineup that covered a wide range of prices and styles. Some were traditional meat lasagnas, while others used special sauces or sausage for a slightly different spin. I focused mainly on meat lasagnas because they’re the most common frozen variety and make the easiest comparison.

Price was definitely a factor worth observing, but I didn’t want it to dominate the ranking. Sometimes a cheap frozen meal can surprise you, and sometimes an expensive one completely falls apart. I was looking for balance—good sauce, satisfying cheese pulls, proper layering, flavorful meat and tender noodles that didn’t dissolve into mush.

Related: The Italian Way To Make Sausage 10x Better

How I Tested the Lasagnas

Each lasagna was cooked according to the package instructions because let’s face it—nobody buying frozen lasagna wants to reinvent the wheel. I judged them based on flavor, texture, appearance, ingredient balance, texture, cheesiness, sauce quality and overall satisfaction.

I also paid close attention to how they looked coming out of the oven because presentation matters just as much as taste. A watery, greasy mess immediately lowers expectations before the first bite even happens.

I tasted every lasagna fresh from the oven and again after cooling slightly because some frozen meals improve once they settle. I also compared the ratio of noodles to filling because too many brands use excessive pasta as filler.

The best lasagnas tasted hearty, layered and cohesive—not like random ingredients collapsing into one another.

12 Frozen Lasagnas, Ranked Worst to Best

After plenty of taste-testing, here’s my ranking of 12 popular frozen lasagnas.

12. On-Cor Lasagna with Meat Sauce

Courtesy Julie Andrews

I was not surprised to rank this one dead last because it was also the least expensive of the bunch and, unfortunately, the quality reflected that immediately. If there was any meat in this lasagna, it seemed completely blended into the sauce beyond recognition. The entire dish felt overwhelmingly pasta-heavy, with barely enough cheese or sauce to keep it interesting. The sauce itself tasted oddly flat, almost like watered-down tomato paste without seasoning.

Visually, this lasagna struggled too. It baked up messy, watery and greasy on top, with noodles sliding apart instead of holding proper layers. It honestly looked more like a cafeteria accident than comfort food.

Related:I Made ‘Skillet Lasagna’ and My Weeknight Dinners Are Forever Changed

11. Bremer Lasagna with Meat Sauce

Courtesy Julie Andrews

Aldi's frozen lasagna had a promising start because the noodles actually tasted homemade and pleasantly thick. Sadly, the rest of the lasagna couldn’t keep up. Like the On-Cor version, the meat seemed blended into the sauce rather than existing as actual chunks. There wasn’t enough ricotta filling, barely any mozzarella on top and the overall flavor was muted.

It also suffered from a slightly greasy, watery top layer common among the lower-ranked lasagnas. The layers slipped around while serving, creating a messy presentation that didn’t inspire confidence.

10. Michael Angelo's Lasagna with Meat Sauce

Courtesy Julie Andrews

This lasagna looked more organized than the previous two, but the flavor simply wasn’t there. The sauce lacked depth, the cheese portions felt stingy and the overall experience was bland from beginning to end. I kept waiting for a punch of garlic, herbs or richness that never arrived.

While the layering was relatively neat and tidy, the finished dish still somehow looked less appetizing than expected.

Related: We Ranked 10 Brands of Frozen Fries, and You Can Buy the Winner at Target

9. Marie Callender's Italiano Meat Lasagna

Courtesy Julie Andrews

I initially had high hopes when I spotted what looked like fresh herbs smattered across the top. Unfortunately, those herbs became the entire personality of the dish. The parsley flavor was strangely overpowering and even tasted slightly off. I’ve honestly never had parsley dominate a lasagna before. The sauce was lacking in balance and richness overall.

That said, the ratios of noodles, sauce and filling were actually pretty solid. Had the herb situation been toned down, this could have ranked a bit higher.

8. Great Value Meat Lover's Lasagna

Courtesy Julie Andrews

Walmart’s Great Value lasagna was surprisingly decent. The flavor itself wasn’t bad, and the generous amount of cheese definitely helped its score. The biggest issue was the structure. The noodles were very thin, and there simply wasn’t enough filling between layers to create a satisfying bite. Overall, it's a decent option for one of the more budget-friendly options.

Related: These Are the 11 Best Frozen Foods for Blood Sugar, According to Registered Dietitians

7. Good & Gather Meat Lasagna

Courtesy Julie Andrews

Target’s Good & Gather version had an enjoyable flavor overall, even if the lasagna itself was thinner than expected. There were only three relatively thin layers, and each could have used more filling.

However, the seasoning was pleasant and the sauce had a better balance than several higher-priced competitors. This was one of the easier lasagnas to casually finish without complaint.

6. Stouffer's Classic Lasagna

Courtesy Julie Andrews

A true classic. Stouffer’s has been sitting in freezers forever, and honestly, there’s a reason it remains popular. The seasoning was balanced, the layers were thick and there was a satisfying amount of cheese throughout. It delivered exactly what you expect from a comforting frozen lasagna.

The sauce wasn’t my personal favorite among the group, but overall, this lasagna was dependable and satisfying in a very nostalgic way.

5. Trader Joe's Meat Lasagna

Courtesy Julie Andrews

Trader Joe’s delivered a very solid lasagna with hearty layers and generous fillings. The balance of meat, cheese and sauce felt well thought out, and the mozzarella on top browned beautifully in the oven.

It leaned slightly meatier than some others, which gave it a richer flavor overall. This felt like a frozen lasagna designed by people who genuinely enjoy lasagna.

Related: 24 Best Trader Joe’s Frozen Food Under $5

4. Rana Meat Lasagna

Courtesy Julie Andrews

Rana specializes in pasta, so I expected great noodles, and this lasagna absolutely delivered. The texture of the pasta was easily the best in the entire ranking. The layers stayed structured, the cheese melted beautifully, and the overall flavor was rich and comforting.

Interestingly, this was the only lasagna that was refrigerated rather than frozen, though it can be frozen. Not coincidentally, it tasted fresher than many competitors and felt slightly more homemade.

3. Chef Ramsay Lasagna with Bolognese Meat Sauce

Courtesy Julie Andrews

Gordon Ramsay's brand of single-serve lasagna was one of the biggest surprises of the entire taste test. Technically, it uses Bolognese sauce rather than traditional meat sauce, but it absolutely deserved inclusion. The seasoning stood out immediately, with more herbs, spices and complexity than nearly every other lasagna tested.

The ratio of ingredients was spot-on, and every bite tasted intentional rather than mass-produced. For a quick freezer meal, this was seriously impressive.

Related: I Tried the Viral ‘Lazy Lasagna’ Recipe and My Weeknight Dinners Are Forever Changed

2. Rao's Meat Lasagna

Courtesy Julie Andrews

Nobody should be shocked that Rao’s performed extremely well. The brand's sauce reputation alone gave this lasagna a major advantage, and it absolutely delivered. The sauce was rich, balanced and deeply flavorful without tasting overly sweet.

The layers were generous, the filling tasted fresh and the structure held together beautifully. My only slight complaint was that I wanted even more cheese on top; everything else about it was perfect.

Related: I Tried 24 Rao's Sauces (Including the 6 Brand New Ones) and the Winner Tastes 100% Homemade

1. Kirkland's Italian Sausage and Beef Lasagna

Courtesy Julie Andrews

Costco's version was the undisputed champion in this taste test to find the best frozen lasagna. From the moment it came out of the oven, it looked better than every other lasagna tested. The layering was beautiful, the sauce smelled incredible, and the combination of sausage and beef created a depth of flavor nobody else matched.

The sausage added richness, savoriness and even a slight heat that elevated the entire dish without overwhelming it. The sauce struck the perfect balance between sweetness and acidity, while the cheese and meat ratios felt generous and satisfying. Even more impressive, despite containing sausage, it wasn’t greasy at all. Every bite tasted hearty, flavorful and genuinely comforting.

If I had to clear freezer space for only one frozen lasagna, Kirkland’s would win every single time.

Why Is Everyone Suddenly Obsessed With Bigfoot?

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 2:12pm

Something stirred in the American woods early this year, and it wasn't just Bigfoot.

In March, a cluster of eight reported sightings erupted in Portage County, Ohio, in wooded terrain along the Mahoning River near Mantua and Garrettsville, southeast of Cleveland. The Bigfoot Society podcast, which tracked and mapped the reports, said the accounts came in between March 6 and March 10, and that Bigfoot activity like this hadn't been documented in the area since the 1970s. The story landed on CNN, Fox News, and Newsweek. Local residents told reporters everyone was asking the same question: Where is he going?

Just days later, a documentary called Capturing Bigfoot premiered at the South by Southwest Film & TV Festival in Austin, Texas, directed by Marq Evans. The film takes dead aim at the most debated piece of footage in cryptozoology history: the Patterson-Gimlin film, a grainy 59-second clip from 1967 that supposedly captured a large bipedal creature walking through the woods near Bluff Creek, California, and has been argued over for nearly six decades. Evans claims new evidence sheds light on what really happened. One reviewer called it the film that finally delivers the truth, while also noting it doesn't require viewers to stop believing. Peoplecalled it groundbreaking. The Bigfoot community, meanwhile, is being 'torn apart' by what the documentary claims to have found.

The doc doesn't yet have a streaming home and distribution negotiations are reportedly ongoing, with a public release expected summer 2026 if deals conclude. Which means the argument is still very much alive.

Bigfoot! A New Musical opened off-Broadway in early 2026 to critical praise, a new smartphone emoji was added, and NPR's Planet Money announced its first-ever original board game, titled Sell Me A Sasquatch. Six Bigfoot-themed horror films are on the 2026 release calendar. Dozens of Bigfoot festivals have spread across small-town America over the past decade, from the West Virginia Bigfoot Festival to events in Minnesota and Alaska. The Kentucky Red River Gorge Bigfoot Festivalis set for May 30. The Great Florida Bigfoot Conference runs in Ocala in June.

Related: X-Files Fans Have Spoken on the Best Episodes — and Two Are Tied at the Top

The question worth asking is why now. As one researcher told CNN this month, both believers and skeptics seem to agree on at least one thing; it's a lot of fun to talk about. There's also something more elemental at work. In a media landscape where nearly everything is documented, explained, and instantly debunked, an eight-foot mystery that has eluded cameras for 60 years carries the special appeal that something out there still hasn't been figured out.

The Ohio flap stopped as suddenly as it started. The Capturing Bigfoot documentary is still waiting for a release date. The evidence is still contested. And the festivals are still filling up.

And it's still a (big) mystery.

Alan Jackson has spent decades as one of country music’s most beloved stars, but in recent years, fans have become increasingly concerned about the singer’s health.

The Country Music Hall of Famer revealed in 2021 that he has Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, an inherited neurological disorder that affects the nerves and gradually impacts balance, coordination and muscle strength.

“I’ve been reluctant to talk about this publicly and to my fans, but it’s been affecting me for years,” Jackson said during an appearance on Today at the time.

According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, often abbreviated as CMT, is a hereditary nerve disorder that primarily affects the arms and legs. Symptoms can include muscle weakness, difficulty walking, balance problems and reduced sensation in the extremities.

Jackson explained that the disease has made performing increasingly difficult.

“And I know I’m stumbling around on stage,” he told Today. “And now I’m having a little trouble balancing, even in front of the microphone.”

While the condition is progressive and has no cure, it is not typically considered fatal. Many people with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease continue living for decades while managing symptoms through therapies, braces, orthopedic devices and other treatments.

Even as his health challenges became more visible, Jackson continued making select public appearances and performances over the past several years, including tributes to Loretta Lynn and Jimmy Buffett.

In 2025, the “Remember When” singer emotionally confirmed that his touring career was coming to an end.

“This is my last road show,” Jackson told fans during a May 2025 concert in Milwaukee while discussing his future on the road. “It’s been a long, sweet ride.”

His final concert, titled Last Call: One More for the Road – The Finale, is scheduled for June 27, 2026, at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium and sold out during presales last year after overwhelming demand from fans around the world. The emotional farewell event will feature appearances from major country stars including Carrie Underwood, Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Eric Church and Keith Urban.

Although Jackson is stepping away from large-scale touring, he has indicated that he still hopes to make music in the future. During a 2023 appearance on his daughter Mattie Jackson’s podcast, the singer said he still regularly writes down song ideas and melodies.

When Mattie asked him, Do you think there's another album for you down the road?", the country star replied, "Yes, I would hope so. I mean, I may not tour much ... but the creative part jumps out every now and then and I'm always scribbling down ideas and thinking about melodies and I feel like there'll be some more music to come."

"Well, I hope so," his daughter replied. "I think everyone else does."

Jackson is also still involved in major projects connected to his legacy. Earlier this year, organizers announced the first-ever Alan Jackson’s Five O’Clock Somewhere Fest, a new Florida festival inspired by his hit song “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere.” While Jackson is not scheduled to perform at the event, he played a major role in developing the festival concept.

Ella Langley, Old Dominion and Jimmy Buffet's Coral Reefer Band lead the festival's star-packed performance lineup, which also includes Dylan Scott, Clint Black, Shenandoah, John Anderson, Rodney Atkins, Jammy Buffet (a Jimmy Buffett Tribute), Allen Stone and more.

"I've gotten to enjoy so many experiences at my concerts over the years," said Jackson in a statement. "I'm not touring any more, but I like the idea of still being able to give people an opportunity to have a 'Good Time' and enjoy some great country music while they do."

PBS recently confirmed Jackson will appear during the 2026 National Memorial Day Concert in Washington, D.C., giving fans another rare opportunity to see the country icon perform as he prepares to step away from touring for good.

7 Books You Definitely Don’t Want To Sleep on as We End May

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 2:00pm

Memorial Day Weekend means the start of the summer season, and that likely means you’re looking for some beach reads. Before that, there are some great romances, thrillers, and mysteries to check out.

May 26, 2026, brings us to the end of the month in style. There is something for everyone, both in the adult and the YA spaces. Now, you just need to get an idea as to where to start — and really, that comes down to genre preferences. We do have a selection of seven great releases not to sleep on.

Courtesy of Penguin Random House ‘Dolly All the Time’ by Annabel Monaghan

We start with a romance for those who love a little bit of Pretty Woman in Dolly All the Time by Annabel Monagha. Dolly Brick has always figured out problems, ever since she was 12 and her mom left her. Now she's close to 40, and she moves back home in the hope of finding an answer to her father and brother's problem: they're about to lose the family home.

Things take a turn when the annoyingly wealthy and handsome Stewart Whitfield offers Dolly something that she can't refuse. He needs to attend public dinners and high society benefits, and she needs money. However, as Dolly starts the proposal, she feels something that is less than helpful.

If you love cozy mysteries, then you’ll want to check out the adult debut from Liz Lawson. You know her for The Agathas series and Murder Between Friends, but Lawson is stepping out of the YA space with It Happened One Murder, which blends romance and murder mystery into one. There’s also a very relatable element as the female lead, Harriet, struggles with what to do with her life in her 20s.

After being let go from her job, Harriet has no choice but to move back home with her mom. As her mom throws her a 25th birthday party, Harriet has to face the questions she’s asking herself. What should she do? Can she ever escape Logan Island? That might be a little harder when there’s a murder at the party, and Harriet throws herself into the investigation.

Courtesy of Penguin Random House ‘In Case I Go Missing’ by R.N. Swan

For the YA readers out there, In Case I Go Missing by R.N. Swan is a must. It’s described as A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder meets Fargo, bringing a fast-paced mystery involving a teen detective. However, she’s not the one doing the searching. She’s the one who has gone missing, and it’s up to her best friend to finish the investigation.

Fenny Allen has been Sarah Vincenty’s sidekick from the start, so it’s not like she doesn’t know the steps to take. She also knows that Sarah wouldn’t just run away, even though the police think that. At the same time, Sarah has left a case unsolved, so Fenny must deal with both if she wants to find her best friend.

Courtesy of Penguin Random House ‘The Summer Share’ by Jenn McKinley

How about the enemies-to-lovers trope for all the romance fans out there? The Summer Share by Jenn McKinley sees a free-spirited travel influencer and a man who isn’t willing to let his own life go, end up with an almost equal share in a summer beach house. For Hannah, it’s a chance to put down some roots after spending the last five years touring the country, but Simon wants to sell.

As you would expect, the two don’t see eye-to-eye, and neither is willing to give up their stance. The only option right now is to renovate, as either way, there are items that need ot be fixed. Hannah is even willing to consider how the house could work for both of them living there, but Simon isn’t having any of it. Will he eventually change his mind?

Amazon

‘The Divorce’ by Freida McFadden

Her first release since sharing her real name, Freida McFadden, brings another twisty murder. The best thing is that it’s already been optioned as a movie! You’ll also find yourself asking questions about your own life, especially if you think you have the perfect marriage.

Naomi thought she was living her dream. She was happily married with a son, but what if that marriage wasn’t as happy as she thought? When she returns home one day to find her garage opener no longer working and the key no longer turning in the lock, she learns that her husband has kicked her out. Well, Naomi isn’t going to take this lying down, and now she has a plan to put in place.

Penguin Random House

‘The Midnight Train’ by Matt Haig

If you loved The Midnight Library by Matt Haig, then The Midnight Train will already be on your list. It’s set in the same universe, but this time, it offers Wilbur the chance to relive his life by going from stop to stop. After all, not everyone finds magic in books but in travel.

Wilbur believes the best days of his life were with Maggie, and he’s sure that their honeymoon in Venice is the memory to return to. So, when he’s given the chance to go back and live it differently, he takes that chance. Of course, to do so will mean risking everything. Is that once-in-a-lifetime love worth it all?

Courtesy of Penguin Random House ‘Phoebe Berman’s Gonna Lose It’ by Brooke Averick

Something else for the romance fans to end our list is Phoebe Berman’s Gonna Lose It, the debut from Brooke Averick. Phoebe is a hopeless romantic, but she’s also a 30-year-old virgin. At least, that’s what could happen in a month, and she’s determined not to let it happen. That is if her own anxiety will allow her to.

All she’s ever wanted is love, but anxiety has always gotten in the way. It’s not like her life is lacking everywhere else. She has her dream teaching job and the most supportive group of friends a girl could ask for. So, why is it that she can’t get over the horrors of her first kiss attempt? And so, we go through her push to kick the butterflies in the butt and get out there!

The retailer traditionally remains open on summer holidays, giving customers access to home improvement supplies, gardening materials, appliances and seasonal outdoor products throughout the holiday weekend.

While Home Depot stores are generally open on Memorial Day, hours may vary slightly by location. Because of that, shoppers should always check with their local store before heading out, especially if they plan to visit early in the morning or later in the evening.

No. Costco will be closed on Memorial Day this year, just like every other year.

The retailer lists Memorial Day among the seven holidays when all U.S. warehouse locations close for the day. Costco says stores will close so employees can spend time with family and loved ones.

Memorial Day is one of the company's regular annual holiday closures, alongside holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and Independence Day. According to Costco's holiday schedule, all U.S. warehouse locations will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2026.

That means shoppers hoping to grab last-minute barbecue essentials, desserts, drinks, or party supplies will want to make their Costco run before Memorial Day arrives.

Other Stores Open on Memorial Day

Stores like Target, Walmart, Trader Joe's and Sam's Club are all expected to remain open, although some locations may operate with reduced holiday hours. This lets you stock up on your holiday favorites even if Costco is closed.

Since Costco closes for the holiday, shoppers planning Memorial Day cookouts, road trips or backyard gatherings may want to make their warehouse run before Monday. The retailer is typically especially busy during Memorial Day weekend as customers stock up on barbecue staples, drinks, desserts and other summer essentials.

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 1:38pm

While Kyle Busch never competed in the Indianapolis 500, the legendary NASCAR driver was honored at the race on Sunday, May 24, following his tragic death.

During Lap 18, the broadcast showed the pylon, which paid tribute to Busch.

"KB Forever ❤️," Indianapolis Motor Speedway commented.

"So happy they honored him," one fan wrote.

"The whole motorsports world is in pain. Not just nascar ❤️‍🩹 rowdy forever🏁," another fan shared.

Busch passed away on May 21 at the age of 41 after the racer was hospitalized due to a “severe illness.”

According to the Associated Press, Busch reportedly was rushed to a North Carolina hospital on May 20 after he became unresponsive while using a Chevrolet racing simulator. And in the 911 call obtained by TMZ, a person can be heard saying that they've "got an individual that’s shortness of breath, very hot, thinks he’s going to pass out, and he’s producing a little bit of blood, coughing up some blood."

His family has confirmed that he died from “pneumonia [that] progressed into sepsis."

“The medical evaluation provided to the Busch Family concluded that severe pneumonia progressed into sepsis, resulting in rapid and overwhelming associated complications,” Fox Sports’ Bob Pockrass wrote on X, sharing the family's official statement.

Throughout his career, Busch won 234 races, including 63 Cup Series victories and Cup Series championships in 2015 and 2019.

He is survived by his wife, Samantha Busch, and their two children. And with that, his iconic No. 8 Cup Series car will be temporarily retired.

“Richard Childress Racing has elected to suspend use of the No. 8 and will run the No. 33 at Charlotte Motor Speedway and beyond,” Richard Childress Racing shared in a statement. “Kyle Busch was instrumental in the design of RCR’s stylized No. 8 and it has become synonymous with Kyle and an important symbol for his fans and the NASCAR industry.

“No one can carry it forward to the level that he did. The No. 8 is reserved and ready for Brexton Busch when he is ready to go NASCAR racing.”

Here’s Exactly What Happens to Your Liver When You Drink Diet Soda

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 1:25pm

The liver is an organ that’s easy to take for granted. While brain health, gut health and longevity are trending topics, knowing how to support the liver doesn’t come up as often in wellness-centric conversations.

Perhaps it should. The liver is the body’s largest internal organ. It regulates metabolism, helps with detoxification and is central to immunity. It converts nutrients into energy, removes toxins and is the body’s primary defense system against pathogens entering the gut. It’s impossible to live without a functioning liver.

You likely already know that consuming alcohol in excess damages the liver. “Alcohol can cause liver disease,” confirms Dr. Neha Jakhete, MD, a gastroenterologist and hepatologist with the University of Maryland Medical System.

But it’s not just alcohol that can negatively impact the liver. Metabolically-dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD, formally called nonalcoholic fatty liver disease) is a serious threat to liver health. MASLD is when fat builds up in the liver, which can cause inflammation over time. It’s one of the most common forms of liver disease.

Sugary beverages, like soda, can be a sneaky cause of weight gain, leading to fat buildup in the liver. If you drink diet soda as a way to cut back on sugar, you may be wondering how drinking it regularly impacts liver health. Here, hepatologists explain exactly how regular soda and diet soda impact the liver.

How Drinking Regular Soda Impacts Liver Health

This likely isn’t going to come as a shock, but drinking soda regularly isn’t great for your liver. “Of all the dietary habits I discuss with patients, regular soda consumption is the one that’s effect on the liver is most underestimated. People think of soda in terms of weight gain or cavities. The liver is rarely the organ that comes to mind. It should be,” Dr. Treta Purohit, MD, a gastroenterologist and hepatologist at Oshi Health, tells Parade.

“Soda has high-fructose corn syrup, which triggers fat buildup in the liver and that can lead to insulin resistance,” Dr. Jakhete explains. Dr. Purohit adds to this, saying that drinks with high-fructose syrup impact the body differently than drinks with other types of sugar.

Related: We Asked 3 Hepatologists What To Drink in the Morning for Liver Health and They All Said the Same Thing

“Glucose is taken up by tissues throughout the body and regulated by insulin. Fructose isn't. It travels almost directly to the liver, which converts much of it into fat. Over time, as that fat accumulates, the liver becomes inflamed, and scar tissue can form. What starts as fatty liver can progress to a more serious disease—and research shows this can happen independently of weight gain. Soda doesn't just contribute to liver disease through extra calories. It contributes directly,” Dr. Purohit says.

Dr. Purohit points to scientific research backing this up. In one meta-analysis of more than 35,000 people, researchers found that even less than one soda a week was associated with a 14% increase in the odds of fatty liver, while seven or more a week raised the odds by 53%. Another study found that people who drank at least one sugar-sweetened beverage a week had more than two and a half times the odds of developing fatty liver compared with non-soda drinkers.

How Drinking Diet Soda Impacts Liver Health

What about diet soda? Is it any better for the liver than regular soda? According to the hepatologists, diet soda doesn’t negatively impact the liver as much as regular soda does, but that doesn’t mean that it gets a free pass.

Both doctors say that the relationship between diet soda and liver health is more complicated than regular soda and liver health. They explain that, unlike regular soda, there isn’t scientific evidence that drinking diet soda directly causes MASLD or other liver problems. But there are some indirect ways that it may be causing harm.

For example, Dr. Jakhete explains that scientific research shows an association between drinking diet soda regularly and weight gain. She says that this could be because artificial sweeteners increase sugar cravings. Dr. Purohit agrees, explaining, “Normally, when we taste something sweet, the body braces for incoming calories—it ramps up certain metabolic and hormonal responses, including signals that eventually tell us we've had enough. When sweetness arrives without calories, day after day, that learned link starts to break down. The body becomes less reliable at regulating intake when sweet foods do show up.”

Additionally, Dr. Jakhete notes that there is some scientific evidence that artificial sweeteners change the balance of bacteria in the gut. “This imbalance can change how you metabolize what you consume and could lead to insulin resistance. It could even increase appetite,” she says.

How To Support Your Liver Through What You Eat and Drink

Hearing that both regular soda and even diet soda may contribute to MASLD can be discouraging. Does this mean you can never enjoy a cold, crisp cola? First, both doctors say that there’s nothing wrong with having a soda every once in a while. If it’s an occasional habit and not a regular one, they say not to lose sleep over it.

If you are a frequent soda drinker, both say that diet soda is a better choice than regular soda, but an even better choice is sparkling water with no added sugar. “What sparkling water offers is the simplest position of all: no fructose, no artificial sweeteners, no open scientific questions. The carbonation itself has no known effect on the liver—bubbles interact with the mouth, esophagus and stomach, not the organ downstream,” Dr. Purohit says.

If you want to support your liver through what you eat and drink, Dr. Purohit advocates for following a Mediterranean diet-style way of eating. This eating plan emphasizes vegetables, fruit, plant-based proteins, seafood and olive oil while minimizing red meat and ultra-processed foods.

The data suggests that more than two servings of red meat a week, or roughly one serving of processed meat such as bacon, sausage and deli meats, is enough to register as a risk factor [for MASLD]. You don't have to give them up entirely. You do have to stop treating them as everyday food,” Dr. Purohit says.

If you drink soda or diet soda every day, switching to sparkling water is an easy swap that will support your liver while still satisfying a craving for something cold and bubbly. Cheers to drinking to your health!

Alan Alda, 90, Opens Up About Talking Death With His Wife of Nearly 70 Years

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 12:50pm

After nearly 70 years of marriage, Alan Alda said he and his wife often talk about death. The 90-year-oldM*A*S*H opened up about the subject at the "Conversation: More Rules for Aging" event at 92NY in New York City on Thursday, May 21.

"One time, we picked Carl Reiner up to take him someplace to dinner, and as we were driving, Carl's wife had just died, and we told him how Arlene and I talk all the time about what we'd do [about] who died first," Alda shared (via PEOPLE).

The Marriage Story star continued, "If I died first, what would her life be like? If she died first, what would I do? And just around then, I drove over to the divider of Sunset Boulevard. A little bit of sidewalk. Just bounced away. And Carl said, 'You know the way you drive, you don't have to worry.'"

Alda went on to talk about turning 90 this year and how he was reminded of his mortality after blowing out his birthday candles and then being praised for being able to do it all by himself.

It's a feeling he's no stranger to after going public with his Parkinson's disease diagnosis in 2018. Alda revealed the progressive medical condition on CBS This Morning three and a half years before the appearance and has been very open about it ever since.

Despite the diagnosis, Alda remains active with his podcast, Clear + Vivid, and takes on selective acting projects, including one episode of The Four Seasons last year, which makes sense because Alda wrote and directed the 1981 film of the same name that the series was adapted from.

Next year, Alda and his wife, Arlene, will celebrate 70 years of marriage after meeting most unusually: while eating rum cake off the floor of a dinner party they both attended a year prior. The pair shares three daughters, Eve, Elizabeth, and Beatrice.

Two 'Survivor' Nemeses Recreate Steamy 'Heated Rivalry' Scene and Fans Are Blown Away

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 12:48pm

Survivor 50nemeses Rizo Velovicand Charlie Davis hilariously recreated the iconic club scene between Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams in HBO Max's hit series Heated Rivalry at the Survivorwrap party, and fans are going crazy over it.

"Heated Survivalry!!" the duo captioned the collaboration post, which shows Velovic and Davis staring at each other tensely while their girlfriends dance on them. The Harrison remix of t.A.T.u.'s "All the Things She Said" used in the show can be heard in the background, completing the parody.

Friends and fans alike were thrilled by the suggestive clip, with Survivor alum Sugar Kiper commenting, "Definitely thought you were gonna kiss. Is there a part 2?" and Big Brother/Amazing Race star Kat Dunn writing, "This was THE rivalry of the season for me."

A follower joked, "Now this is what the fans voted to see," while another used Rizgod's catchphrase, writing, "CINEMA!"

The pair's season 50 drama started as what could have been an alliance, had Velovic not lied and said that he didn't vote for his bestie, Savannah Louie, to win season 49. The idea deeply offended Davis, who was still upset that his No. 1 didn't vote for him at the end of his season. He secretly planned to turn on Velovic, but it was ultimately Velovic who sent Davis home with a Taylor Swiftthemed speech.

"Charlie, let me speak Taylor Swift to you,” he said in the voting confessional. “This is no love story between us. After tonight, there will be bad blood. And when I take you out in Rizgod-style, I’mma get out of here in my getaway car. Sayonara. Adios.”

"As soon as I figured it out, I was like, this is just funny," Davis told TV Insider after learning Velovic did support his top ally after all. "To be clear, even out there on the beach, I was not like 'Rizo's a terrible human!'"

He added that even on the show, the two were never really enemies. "I talked in confessionals that there were positive things about Rizo that I like, too, and how that was complex," he added.

1998 Rock Hit Is Climbing the Charts Again Nearly 30 Years After Its Release

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 12:44pm

Despite being released 28 years ago, the Goo Goo Dolls' romantic rock anthem, "Iris," has secured a spot on Billboard's Rock Streaming Songs. According to the chart, "Iris," off the band's 1998 record Dizzy Up the Girl, was the 15th "most popular streamed" tune from the rock genre during the week of May 23, 2026.

According to a March 2026 New York Times report, a TikTok '90s trend that utilizes "Iris" is partly responsible for the song's cultural comeback. In a correspondence via email to the publication, Syracuse University assistant professor Jennifer Billinson theorized why "Iris" and the '90s trend are so popular in the current day.

”Life is difficult right now for so many and for so many reasons. It makes sense that we have rose-colored glasses for a time we perceive as simpler and less complicated," wrote Billinson, who works in the college's Bandier Program for Recording and Entertainment Industries.

John Rzeznik Revealed How He Came Up With 'Iris' in a 2025 Interview

In a 2025 behind-the-scenes interview about "Iris," members of the Goo Goo Dolls, John Rzeznik and Robby Takac, explained that the song was written for the 1998 romance fantasy film, City of Angels. Rzeznik said he and his bandmates instantly liked the song and decided to also include it on Dizzy Up the Girl.

Rzeznik also shared that he came up with the song's lyrics after watching the 1987 German film, Wings of Desire, which "City of Angels was based on." He then began writing the song "from the perspective of the guy, the angel guy who was just like he'd give up everything just to feel this human thing." He explained that the angel character, Damiel (Bruno Ganz) in Wings of Desire and Seth (Nicolas Cage) in City of Angels, "realizes how painful it is to be a human" on their respective journeys.

"But it's like the point of being human is to experience that pain in a sort of non-judgmental way because that's the essence of being human. It's the ups and the downs, and it's accepting the low parts. You don't have to like it, but you have to accept it," said the guitarist and vocalist, now 60.

During the 2025 interview, Rzeznik also shared he was appreciative of the continued success of "Iris."

"It's been an incredible gift," said Rzeznik.
