1970 Rock Classic With Iconic Guitar Riff Became an Overnight Radio Anthem, Despite Never Reaching No. 1

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 4:14pm

In 1970, a loud, swaggering rock song built around one unforgettable guitar riff exploded onto the radio and helped define the future of hard rock.

"Mississippi Queen" by Mountain became an overnight radio anthem despite never reaching No. 1 on the charts. From the moment its famous cowbell intro kicks in, the song announces itself with pure force.

Driven by the towering guitar work of Leslie West, "Mississippi Queen" combined blues-rock heaviness with an aggressive sound that helped bridge the gap between late-1960s hard rock and the emerging heavy metal movement of the 1970s.

"Corky Laing had this lyric and he came to my apartment in Manhattan," West told Best Classic Bands. "He says, 'Look, I have this lyric, 'Mississippi Queen.'' He said when he was in Nantucket and playing this bar and the power went out, he was just playing the drums and shouting the words 'Mississippi Queen, do you know what I mean?'"

That's all it took to send West reaching for his guitar.

"I started fooling around with the guitar in the apartment and I came up with this riff and it's three chords. We went really quickly into the studio and Felix told him to count it off and he counted it off with a cowbell. We left it in there."

West's thick guitar tone and crushing riff quickly became legendary among rock fans and musicians alike, helping turn the song into one of the most recognizable guitar-driven tracks of its era.

The song appeared on Mountain's debut album, Mountain Climbing! and immediately stood out because of its sheer power. At a time when psychedelic rock and blues-inspired jams still dominated much of rock radio, "Mississippi Queen" felt heavier, louder and more muscular than many of its contemporaries.

The track's energy made it especially popular on the radio, where album-oriented rock stations embraced its extended sound and booming production. Although the song stopped short of becoming a chart-topping pop hit, it evolved into something arguably more important: a foundational hard rock classic that influenced generations of bands that followed.

Mountain itself also became a major force in early 1970s rock culture. The band famously performed at Woodstock and earned a reputation for thunderous live performances built around Leslie West's commanding stage presence and distinctive voice.

"It was scary," said West of the band's Woodstock set in a 2017 interview. "It was only our third show! Jimmy Hendrix's agent was our agent. We weren't in the [Woodstock] movie, they lost the film. But they've found it and they're putting it in a new DVD."

Over the decades, "Mississippi Queen" became a permanent fixture of classic rock playlists, sports arenas, movie soundtracks and road-trip compilations.

The song's iconic riff continues to resonate because of its simplicity and raw power, qualities that helped make it timeless.

More than 50 years later, "Mississippi Queen" still sounds massive, proving that a song never needed to hit No. 1 to become one of rock's defining anthems.

Woman Claims Repeated $100 Walmart Charges Drained Her Account — Now Others Are Speaking Out

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 4:07pm

A viral social media post is ringing alarms after a woman claimed repeated fraudulent Walmartcharges completely drained her bank account.

In the lengthy Threads post, the woman (whose username is @miss_dani_reads) explained that she first received a fraud alert text from Wells Fargo earlier this week asking whether a $100 Walmart charge was legitimate.

According to her, it absolutely was not. But by the time she saw the alert, she claimed dozens of charges had already started hitting her debit card account.

“24 - TWENTY FOUR - $100 charges from Walmart on my debit card for 30 minutes before I shut my card off,” she wrote. While some charges were reportedly reversed, she claimed 14 transactions still went through, temporarily wiping out her available funds.

The woman said she immediately contacted Wells Fargo’s fraud department to report the charges. However, what allegedly happened next is what is truly raising eyebrows.

According to the post, one representative told her that “HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE FROM WELLS FARGO” had supposedly experienced similar issues this week involving Walmart-related charges.

The woman later claimed another representative informed her that Walmart was not actually accepting the charges and that the money should return once pending transactions dropped off her account.

The woman said she later discovered Reddit threads discussing nearly identical situations dating back months, with some users alleging repeated pending Walmart charges appearing on their bank accounts. “If this has been going on for six months, to hundreds of people at a time….that’s A LOT of money!!” she wrote.

At this point, there is no public evidence suggesting Walmart or Wells Fargo are intentionally involved in fraud, and neither company has publicly commented on the viral allegations.

😋😋SIGN UP to get delicious recipes, handy kitchen hacks & more in our daily Pop Kitchen newsletter🍳🍔

Regardless, the thread has sparked a pretty large discussion online, with many social media users sharing their own experiences.

“I just went through the same thing with Walmart !! I started getting emails about gift card purchases,” one replied.

“This has been happening for many years for my husband.  Almost every time he does an online Walmart order all of a sudden we have a bunch of fraudulent transactions on our WF account,” another shared, before revealing, “WF has always taken care of removing them but Walmart is just 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♀️🤷. Wonder if it happens with other banks and Walmart.”

A third wrote, “I saw someone else get going through this. Awful! I hope it is exposed for whatever it is.”

So if you shop at Walmart, it may not be the worst idea to give your bank account a quick once-over.

This Daytime Emmy Winner Is Leaving 'General Hospital' After 3 Years in a Major Casting Shakeup

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 3:42pm

In a shocking turn of events, Daytime Emmy winner Kate Mansi is exiting the ABC soap opera General Hospital after three years in the role.

According to Soap Opera Network, Mansi has wrapped filming for the soap opera after deciding not to renew her contract.

Specific details about her exit, including her final air date and storyline, have not been confirmed at this time.

According to soap journalist Stephanie Sloan's newsletter, Mansi wrapped filming for the show last month, with her exit expected to air sometime next month.

Mansi assumed the role of Kristina Davis from Lexi Ainsworth in 2023.

Prior to joining General Hospital, Mansi had a Daytime Emmy Award-winning run as Abigail Deveraux on the NBC daytime soap opera Days of Our Lives. The daughter of super couple Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer Rose Horton (Melissa Reeves).

During her stint on Days of Our Lives, she also created a ‘super couple’ of her own, with her pairing of “CHABBY” with Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn).

Mansi’s credits include many feature films as well, including Unwanted Guest, Boyfriend Killer, Maternal Secrets, and, most recently, Casa Grande.

In addition to acting, Mansi has begun directing, including an episode of General Hospital earlier this year.

Speaking on preparing for the experience, Mansi shared, “It was really gratifying to push myself and study so hard for like a year and shadow and be like a sponge and soak up as much as I could and then to be a part of this story behind the scenes to also direct it.”

Mansi also explained how her acting background helped inform her work as a director. “Being an actor only helps in terms of being a director. You gain so much knowledge of camera awareness and just having a general knowledge of what is going on, which is really helpful.”

Parade reached out to a representative for General Hospital, but has not heard back as of press time.

General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC and streams weeknights on Hulu.

This Actress Has Played Five Roles Created for Men: 'How Do You Think I Have a Career?'

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 3:40pm

She has graced some of your favorite movies and TV shows: Desperate Housewives, Marvel's Luke Cage, 12 Years a Slave. The list goes on.

And now, Alfre Woodard stars in the Duffer brothers' Netflix follow-up to Stranger Things, which is now streaming.

While out promoting The Boroughs, the beloved Oscar nominee, 73, opened up about her versatile career — which includes having flipped the script on a number of roles that were originally imagined for the opposite sex.

“How do you think I have a career?” she told AARP's Movies for Grownups in a recent interview article. “That has happened five times in my life when I played a role meant for a curmudgeonly, older white guy.”

Woodard's latest on-screen effort is The Boroughs, which currently holds an impressive 95% average critics' rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The series follows a group of retirement community residents battling an otherworldly threat.

Woodard, who is a former high school athlete (track and basketball), likened her fellow septuagenarian co-stars — including Alfred Molina, Geena Davis and Bill Pullman — to a seasoned relay team during her recent AARP interview: "It was like we’d been running together since junior high and now you’re at the Olympics. You put your hand out, bam, you know the baton is there.”

The Tulsa native also reflected on her earlier years, including an era of segregation — Tulsa high schools were not desegregated until 1973 — though she never seems to have never doubted that she could say and do what she wanted: "From the time I can remember, my father would say, 'Nobody, no man in this world, I don’t care who it is, is better than you are.' What I got from my family is a strong sense of self, a sense of value."

Rumored James Bond Actor Reveals He Was Never in the Running

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 3:40pm

The last James Bond movie released was No Time to Die in 2021, starring Daniel Craig. The franchise needs a new leading man, and there have been rumors about who is in talks of taking it over. One of those actors revealed that the rumor about him isn't true.

Idris Elba Says the Next James Bond Actor Will Be Younger Idris Elba

Weiss Eubanks/NBCUniversal

The British franchise unsurprisingly considers actors from the region for the role. Idris Elbaisn't a stranger to action movies, having appeared in Thor: Love and Thunder, Hobbs & Shaw, and more. A Black man hasn't played 007 before, but people thought maybe Elba, 53, would be the first.

Related: Actor Tied to ‘James Bond’ Rumors Calls Fan Reactions ‘Not Normal’

There was even a James Bond reference in Luther: The Fallen Sun because of the rumor. "I didn't write that. I didn't write that," the actor told TODAY. "I remember seeing that in the script and was like, 'Are we sure bro? I mean, this is like right on the nose.' And he was like, 'Yeah, let's do it."

The actor revealed he won't be switching one agent role for another. Elba told PEOPLE. "My name's not getting thrown out, no way," he said. "They're going younger. And I wish them all the luck of the world. I can't wait — it's going to be amazing." He later said, "I'm honestly not in the race ever. I wasn't in the race in the first place."

That takes one name off the list of rumored names. Craig has moved on from the iconic role by playing Benoit Blanc in the Knives Out franchise. The Southern detective solves a murder mystery in every movie with his intelligence instead of a gun.

If Elba is correct, then a young British actor will be the next to play the iconic role. That's something to keep in mind if another actor is rumored to be in talks for the next movie.

Those born on the 1st, 10th, 19th, and 28th come into their lives with a strong sense of self-certainty. Numerology’s independent and confident 1 bestows self-assurance to individuals born on these dates. Although they’re initially self-assured, their self-confidence may wax and wane over time. They might struggle with their self-expression, identity, and overall personhood. Oscar Wilde reminds people on these birth dates to show up authentically, even if they’re afraid of being judged or are currently working through personal insecurities. People born on these dates must remember that strength and confidence will always come from being genuine.

Born on the 2nd, 11th, 20th, and 29th: “We accept the love we think we deserve.” — Stephen Chbosky

Luna influences people born on the 2nd, 11th, 20th, and 29th. People born on these dates embody 2’s sensitivity and intuition, which comes from being the only lunar-ruled number in numerology. Individuals who align with lunar energy are known for their emotional depth. They’re empathetic and sympathetic characters who feel deeply for others. While this is admirable, Stephen Chbosky encourages these individuals to accept a higher form of love and connection. His famous The Perks of Being a Wallflower quote cautions people with these birth dates to ask for more. Don’t settle for emotionally draining, underwhelming, or immature relationships.

Born on the 3rd, 12th, 21st, and 30th: “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” — Thomas A. Edison

Bright individuals are born on either the 3rd, 12th, 21st, or 30th. Numerology says 3 gives quick wit, intellectual stimulation, and an adventurous attitude to these birth dates. People born on these days have a lot of ideas, but they might get tripped up when something doesn’t immediately pan out. They may lose stamina or focus when there’s a snafu. Fellow genius Thomas Edison advises these people to keep going. Edison encourages individuals born on these dates to change their perception. Instead of thinking of this as failure, they're actually  one step closer to succeeding.

EXPLORE: Your True Calling, Based on Your Birth Month

Born on the 4th, 13th, 22nd, and 31st: “Life is what happens to us while we are making other plans.” — Allen Saunders

Careful people have birthdays on the 4th, 13th, 22nd, or 31st, because numerology’s 4 encourages them to be tenacious and considerate. 4 implores these birth dates to be more conservative with their time, energy, and resources. These individuals are often overly concerned with sticking to their plans. Their dedication and determination is admirable; however, Allen Saunders wants them to know that life will happen regardless of what they’ve planned. People born on these dates need the reminder to be present. Enjoying the moment is just as important as planning for the future.

Born on the 5th, 14th, and 23rd: “Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it’s better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.” — Marilyn Monroe

Rebellious Uranus works with those born on the 5th, 14th, and 23rd. Not only do these birth dates embody 5’s carefree attitude, but they also work with the rebellious energy of Uranus. Although these individuals are typically at home doing their own thing, they may still deal with moments of self-doubt. Being a lone wolf isn’t easy while everyone else is following a more traditional path. Marilyn Monroe understands this struggle. She affirms that it’s better to be imperfect and mad instead of cautioning people born on these dates to be more conservative.

Born on the 6th, 15th, and 24th: “To love at all is to be vulnerable.” — C.S. Lewis

Having solid, loving connections is especially important for people born on the 6th, 15th, and 24th. People with these birth dates align with the loving energy of 6, as well as the relationship-oriented mindset of Venus. They’re especially concerned with finding a life partner, creating a family, and having a support system of friends. Despite wanting connection, they might be a bit afraid to be rejected and heartbroken. C.S. Lewis wants these people to remember that love requires vulnerability. His quote encourages these individuals to remain open to finding love even if it’s daunting to be so vulnerable.

RELATE?: Your Tarot Card for Abundance, Based on Your Birth Month

Born on the 7th, 16th, and 25th: “Sometimes the questions are complicated, and the answers are simple.” — Dr. Suess

People born on the 7th, 16th, and 25th want to know why things happen the way they do. Numerology’s inquisitive and introspective 7 keeps these birth dates guessing. They’re always wondering what might happen next, why someone acted the way they did, and how everything will come together. Being so deep and profound can lead to next-level realizations. Their soul-searching mentalities make them incredibly insightful, but it can also lead to rumination and analysis paralysis. Dr. Seuss’s quote will ground these individuals’ thoughts. They might realize that the answer they’re searching for was the most obvious one all along.

Born on the 8th, 17th, and 26th: “It is never too late to be what you might have been.” — George Eliot

Individuals born on the 8th, 17th, or 26th struggle with their power despite embodying 8’s ambitiousness and focus. As they go throughout life, they have to constantly find balance between their spiritual journeys and waking world. Having this internal struggle can be emotionally taxing. They might walk away from goals or paths that feel like too much to handle. George Eliot cautions these birth dates to rise to the occasion by continuing with their aspirations and opportunities. They don’t have to do it all at once, but as long as they persevere, then that’s all that matters.

Is Target Open on Memorial Day? Here's What to Know About Its Holiday Hours

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 3:15pm

Memorial Day weekend tends to bring a rush of last-minute shopping trips, especially for anyone hosting a cookout, heading to a backyard gathering, or stocking up for a long holiday weekend. From burger buns and chips to coolers, ice, sunscreen, and patio essentials, Target is often a go-to stop for shoppers trying to grab everything in one trip.

With Memorial Day falling on Monday, May 25, in 2026, many shoppers are already wondering about Target's Memorial Day hours and whether stores will be operating as usual. Since some retailers adjust their schedules or close entirely on federal holidays, it's always smart to check ahead before heading out for food, drink, or entertaining essentials.

Yes, Target is expected to be open on Memorial Day 2026. The retailer has historically remained open during the holiday weekend, giving shoppers a chance to pick up groceries, grilling supplies, beverages, desserts, and other cookout staples.

That said, hours can vary by location, and certain in-store services, such as pharmacies or Starbucks locations, may operate on modified schedules. Customers may want to confirm local hours before making a trip.

What Are Target's Memorial Day Hours?

Most Target locations are expected to operate during normal business hours on Memorial Day, though schedules may vary slightly by store. Several reports and store listings indicate many locations typically operate between roughly 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. during the holiday weekend.

Shoppers can check their local store's hours through Target's Store Locator before heading out, as some locations may have reduced hours.

Memorial Day weekend also tends to coincide with major seasonal promotions at Target, particularly on groceries, snacks, beverages, and decorations. Because the holiday weekend often brings larger crowds and longer checkout lines, some shoppers may prefer to head in earlier in the day, before stores get busier as cookouts and gatherings ramp up.

And since the holiday also tends to mark the unofficial start of summer shopping season, stores like Target often see an uptick in traffic throughout the long weekend. Seasonal aisles are usually packed with grilling tools, coolers, pool toys, entertaining items and outdoor decor, as shoppers prepare for the warmer months ahead.

2012 Hit Rock Song, With 4.6 Billion Streams, Is Suddenly Climbing the Charts 14 Years Later

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 3:01pm

Released in 2012, a breakout single by an indie rock band is making an unexpected comeback years later.

The Neighbourhood, which consists of key members Jesse Rutherford on lead vocals, Zach Abels on lead guitar, Jeremiah Freedman on rhythm guitar, Michael Margott on bass and Brandon Fried on drums, proved that timeless music only gets stronger with time.

One of the band’s signature hits was the 2012 track “Sweater Weather.”

Written by Rutherford, Abels and Freedman, it was released as part of their debut EP I'm Sorry... and was re-released on their debut studio album, I Love You., in 2013.

At that time, the single reached No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was only years later that the song gained massive popularity thanks to social media.

“Sweater Weather” has surged back into the spotlight, fueled by viral streaming momentum on TikTok along with a new generation of listeners.

Jeremy Freedman, Brandon Fried, Mikey Margott, Zach Abels and Jesse Rutherford of The Neighbourhood attend The Neighbourhood Fan Pop-Up and Signing on October 12, 2025 in Los Angeles, California.

In April, The Neighbourhood’s anthem secured its place on Spotify’s Billions Club by surpassing 4.5 billion streams on the streaming platform.

To recall, the band first reached the one-billion mark in 2021 and continued its streaming growth, which has accelerated over the years.

Now, another feat for the five-member group was joining an elite ranking released by Spotify.

In celebration of the platform’s 20th anniversary this year, Spotify released a rundown of the most-streamed artists, albums, songs, podcasts and audiobooks of all time.

The Neighbourhood ranked third among the most-streamed songs on the platform, cementing their legacy in music more than a decade after the song’s release.

Meanwhile, “Shape of You” by Ed Sheeran came in second with “Blinding Lights” by The Weeknd taking the top spot.

However, before the song became a cultural phenomenon, Rutherford revealed the unexpected yet interesting inspiration behind “Sweater Weather.”

The vocalist shared that the track was born after the band got into a massive disagreement while driving home from the studio.

Little did they know that the tense moment would ultimately help shape one of their biggest hits.

“When we went to the studio to actually record it, it was actually a giant argument we had because I had changed the first verse to what you hear now,” he told And The Writer Is... adding that Rutherford said that his bandmates might be suffering from what he called "demoitis" or the moment when musicians, producers and even listeners become so emotionally attached to an initial, raw demo version of a song and struggle to appreciate the final outcome.

The frontman wanted to keep it “less rappy” to lean into an indie rock sound.

Nick Jonas Reveals the One Film Which Makes Him Cry

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 2:59pm

We all love to cry over a movie, and Nick Jonas is no different.

While promoting his new film, Power Ballad at New York City's 92NY with Paul Rudd and director John Carney, Nick told Josh Horowitz about how cinema can resonate with audiences.

When the interviewer asked if any songs or films made him emotional, the singer and actor praised his own film before talking about a family favourite. "Well, I'll say there are two scenes in this movie that I'm not in, and they hit me super hard as a father," he replied, per People.

"I think there's a real thing that you'll see. I want you to think about this powerful stuff, family, that aspect. Then, outside of that, when I cry over a movie, it's The Lion King," he added.

Nick added that he watches the film with his 4-year-old daughter, Malti, whom he welcomed his wife, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, in 2022. The little girl was born via surrogacy prematurely and spent three and a half months in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

"You know, things that I'm getting to watch with my daughter these days and kind of read some of those experiences, the stories that shaped who I became, and now I'm sharing that with her. It's a totally special thing to experience," Nick said, before adding that he always cries on planes to films.

On the red carpet for his new film, which sees him play a fading boy band star, he opened up about whether his daughter will follow in his footsteps. "She loves music," Nick told E! News "We'll see what happens."

"She loves me and the brothers' song 'Love Me To Heaven,'" Nick added. "That's her favorite and demands a video every show, so she can watch it the next day."

1977 Classic Rock Album Is Suddenly Having a Massive Comeback on the Charts

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 2:49pm

Nearly 50 years after its release, Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours is once again proving it will never go out of style.

The legendary 1977 album is currently sitting at No. 3 on Billboard’s Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart, marking yet another major comeback moment for one of the most successful records in music history.

Originally released on February 4, 1977, Rumours has long been considered a classic—but what’s especially impressive is how consistently it continues finding new audiences decades later. Thanks to streaming and TikTok trends, younger listeners are discovering Fleetwood Mac for the first time, making sure it stays relevant across generations.

Rumours has sold more than 40 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling albums of all time. Nearly five decades after it first dropped, the album is also still charting on the Billboard 200, currently sitting at No. 25.

The album famously came together during one of the most chaotic periods in Fleetwood Mac history. At the time, nearly every major relationship within the band was falling apart. Stevie Nicksand Lindsey Buckingham had ended their relationship, Christine and John McVie were divorcing, and Mick Fleetwood was dealing with marital issues of his own.

Thankfully for us, the band prevailed, and created what many consider one of rock music’s defining albums.

“We refused to let our feelings derail our commitment to the music, no matter how complicated or intertwined they became,” Fleetwood later wrote in his memoir Play On. “No matter what, we played through the hurt.”

Rumors produced several massive hits that continue to dominate streaming platforms and classic rock playlists today. “Dreams” became Fleetwood Mac’s only No. 1 single in the United States, topping the Billboard Hot 100 on June 18, 1977, and remaining on the chart for 23 weeks. Meanwhile, “Don’t Stop” climbed to No. 3 later that year and spent 18 weeks on the chart.

Other hits on the album also continue to find new life. “The Chain” is currently climbing Billboard’s Rock Streaming Songs and has now spent more than 100 weeks on the ranking.

Clearly, Rumours still knows how to “go its own way” up the charts.

The musical mastermind behind the band, Rich serves as founder, guitarist, primary songwriter, and original member since 1984. Penning nearly all of The Black Crowes’ discography, he’s been the musical force behind their signature bluesy sound and open-G guitar riffs, adding color to acoustic ballads and hard-Southern rock anthems.

Standout tracks include “She Talks to Angels,” “Remedy,” “Thorn in My Pride,” and “Jealous Again,” with their 1990 cover of soul legend Otis Redding's "Hard to Handle" showcasing a masterful blues-rock solo from Rich.

In 1991, The Black Crowes were nominated for a Best New Artist Grammyat the 33rd annual show. They lost to Mariah Carey. And last year, they were nominated for their second Grammy — this one for Best Rock Album for Happiness Bastards, which features favorites “Wanting and Waiting,” “Bedside Manners,” and “Flesh Wound.” Again, they lost. This time to The Rolling Stones

Still, 10 studio albums, four live albums, and numerous charting singles later, the band treks on. Currently, the brothers Robinson are on tour, hitting pit stops across the country and Europe on their Southern Hospitality Tour, which kicked off May 17 and features co-headliners Whiskey Myers.

Happy birthday, Rich!

Mark Ballas Surprises Fans with Cameo in Off-Broadway Show Starring Whitney Leavitt's Husband

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 2:43pm

Mark Ballas just got some more stage time.

Over the weekend, the Dancing with the Starsstaple made a surprise cameo in the Off-Broadway production of '11 to Midnight,' which stars Whitney Leavitt's husband, Conner.

The show, created by viral dance duo Cost n’ Mayor (Austin and Marideth Telenko), that tells the stories of seven friends through dance, regularly includes an audience member during a specific scene. For Conner's debut performance earlier this month, Whitney was called up on stage — just after she played Roxie Hart for the last time during her run in 'Chicago: The Musical' on Broadway.

And less than two weeks later, it was her former DWTS-partner-turned-'Chicago'-co-star's turn.

"@markballas absolutely crushed it!!!" the show's Instagram account wrote of his performance.

"Good times. Had a blast at the show. Congrats to all," he replied in the comments.

Fans also loved the fact that Ballas made the appearance, as he also recently wrapped up his Broadway stint alongside Whitney.

"Iconic!" one wrote, while another said, "This is seriously so amazing."

Another gushed about the friendship between Ballas and the Leavitts, since the three became close following the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives success during the most recent season of DWTS.

"Love that the 3 of you are like siblings now," they said. "It’s precious to see."

One commenter, however, suggested that the show's creators be cast for the ballroom dance competition show.

"I suggest Cost n' Mayor be on Dancing With the Stars!!" the Instagram user said.

Beyond Whitney and Ballas joining the cast of '11 to Midnight' on stage, Dr. Holly Hatcher-Frazier, the mom of Conner's co-star, Nia Sioux— both known from Dance Moms — also participated in the show last week.

"I love being able to share such special moments with my best friend," Sioux wrote of sharing the stage with her mom.

'11 to Midnight' also stars Glee star Heather Morris who also competed on Dancing with the Stars in Season 24.

Connor will be starring in the show until May 27.

John Cena’s Surprising ‘Guilty Pleasure’ Is a Netflix Reality Show and He’s Hoping for ‘A Cameo'

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 2:33pm

John Cena has done some really impressive things during his decades-long career, but his current aspiration is to land a cameo on his favorite Netflix reality show. He made that admission to PEOPLE at the Netflix Upfronts in New York City on May 23.

When Cena was asked if he had a "guilty pleasure" show that he loved to watch, the former WWE champion answered, "Loves me some Secret Millionaire." The show he is talking about is Million Dollar Secret.

In it, one contestant starts the show with $1 million. The other 11 pursue the "secret millionaire" over the countryside in hopes of capturing them and keeping the money for themselves.

Million Dollar Secret premiered on Netflix in 2025, while a second season dropped on the streaming giant on Apr. 15, 2026.

"I think it's a sleeper," Cena said of the show, which has been considered a smash hit. "Folks should check it out. I love the show."

Million Dollar Secret hasn't been renewed for Season 3 yet, but if that does happen, Cena is hoping for "a cameo of some sorts in the future."

So far, things are looking good for the future of the show and that should make viewers happy. After all, in the weeks following the Season 2 finale, the call for another season has been loud.

On Reddit, a forum dedicated to the Netflix reality series started discussing a renewal weeks ago with one big fan writing, "If it was up to me, this show would have 10+ seasons."

Another wrote, "I think there's a good chance. Netflix is struggling with game shows, but this one seems to do well enough at least in the US. I was more worried after S1 because the production costs seem high."

"I started on season 2 and I was absolutely obsessed from the first episode. This show is pure joy to watch. I liked season 1 too," a third shared.

Beartooth Bassist Oshie Bichar Shows Support for Caleb Shomo After He Came Out as ‘Proudly Gay Man'

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 2:30pm

Beartooth frontman Caleb Shomo took to Instagram to make a brave announcement, revealing that he is a “proudly gay man." And he is receiving support from his bandmate, bassist Oshie Bichar.

Bichar re-shared Shomo's long statement on Instagram, adding a read heart emoji.

Shomo made the decision to speak out due to the speculation surrounding his sexuality in recent months.

“There’s been a lot of speculation surrounding my personal life as of late, and I feel compelled to set the record straight before it affects those I love any further,” Shomo wrote on Instagram. “I am a proudly gay man.”

He added that this is "been difficult to navigate."

"When it comes to my art/Beartooth, I have always strived to chase who I am in the deepest part of my soul from album to album," Shomo explained. “I spent a decade burying feelings with alcohol, and honestly, when I decided to put it down and focus on exploring why I felt this way for so long, it's been a direct path to me reconciling with my sexuality in hopes that it will eventually lead me to experiencing self-love."

This news comes after he and his wife, Fleur, divorced after 14 years together.

Fleur also shared a statement on Instagram, reacting to the news.

"The past few months have been a very disorientating and hurtful time to navigate. For both of us. But I will always want to love, protect and support Caleb. I have cared more about his well being over the years than anything else in the world," she wrote on Instagram. "To see the confusion and pain he went through and the highs and lows and wanting to help and not knowing how. You never want anything more for your person than for them to just be ok."

1991 Hit that Cemented Band as 'Greatest of All Time in Grunge' was Almost Never Released

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 2:25pm

In 1991, lead sing and guitarist for the band Nirvana, Kurt Cobain, was working on tracks for what would become their second album, Nevermind.

Heavily inspired by The Pixies, Cobain came up with a guitar riff and a melody for the chorus and presented it to the other members of the band. Cobain said he thought the riff was "too mainstream and cliché" and and Nirvana's bassist, Krist Novoselic thought it was a "ridiculous" track. They almost scrapped what Cobain had been working on, but instead they opted to play it together for an hour and half. That jam session resulted in the final composition, and the only song on Nevermind that would credit all three members as writers.

The song would become what we now know today as a one of the best-selling songs of all time: "Smells Like Teen Spirit."

Further adding the the tracks divisiveness was the fact that Cobain's lyrics and singing style were borderline impossible to make out. Nevermind also included no liner notes, and radios complained stated, "We can't play this. [We] can't understand what the guy is saying." Despite being the lead single from Nevermind, "Smells Like Teen Spirit" failed to chart upon inital release.

However, the track became intensely popular after the fact. When MTV released the video in September of 1991, it became so popular at late night that the music channel opted to run it during daytime as well. Critics called it "an anthem for (or is it against?) the 'Why Ask Why?' generation." "Smells Like Teen Spirit" has gone on to one of the best-selling tracks of all time, at over 13 million copies sold worldwide.

Nirvana and Cobain became increasingly uncomfortable with how popular the track became, and even began omitting it from live performances. Cobain even said to Rolling Stone, "I still like playing 'Teen Spirit', but it's almost an embarrassment to play it. Everyone has focused on that song so much."

"Smells Like Teen Spirit" has gone on to be regarded as one of the best songs of all time. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame labeled it a song that "shaped rock and roll" and the Recording Industry Association of America ranked the song at number eighty on their list of "Songs of the Century."

The legacy of Nirvana and "Smells Like Teen Spirit" make it clear, it's a good thing the song was released and generations will thank the band for making it happen.

I Tried 12 Frozen Lasagnas to Find the Best—and the Winner Won by a Landslide

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 2:22pm

Frozen lasagna has been saving dinner in American households for decades. It’s the dependable freezer staple that shows up when nobody feels like cooking, when unexpected guests arrive, or when you simply want something warm, cheesy and comforting after a long day. There’s something deeply nostalgic about peeling back foil from a bubbling tray of lasagna while the smell of tomato sauce and melted mozzarella fills the kitchen.

For many families, frozen lasagna was the “special easy dinner” before takeout apps existed. It sat proudly beside frozen pizzas and TV dinners as one of the great convenience foods that somehow managed to feel homemade enough to count as real comfort food.

Over the years, the best frozen lasagnas have evolved far beyond the basic cafeteria-style trays many of us grew up eating. Grocery stores now carry everything from bargain family packs to premium versions boasting imported cheeses, slow-simmered sauces and artisanal pasta. Iconic brands like Stouffer’s compete with grocery store labels, trendy refrigerated options and even celebrity chef creations.

Some promise thick layers of ricotta and meat sauce, while others lean heavily into fresh herbs or rich Bolognese flavors. But let’s be honest—not every frozen lasagna deserves precious freezer space. Some are cheesy masterpieces that rival restaurant dishes, while others leave your taste buds disappointed.

Armed with a fork and plenty of appetite, I baked and sampled 12 frozen lasagnas to determine which ones deserve a spot in the freezer aisle hall of fame—and which ones did not.

How I Chose the Lasagnas

I wanted this ranking to represent the kinds of lasagnas most people would actually buy during a normal grocery run. That meant including classic household names, store brands, premium options and a few newer contenders that have recently gained popularity.

I searched major grocery chains and warehouse stores like Aldi, Walmart, Costco, Trader Joe’s, Meijer and Target to create a lineup that covered a wide range of prices and styles. Some were traditional meat lasagnas, while others used special sauces or sausage for a slightly different spin. I focused mainly on meat lasagnas because they’re the most common frozen variety and make the easiest comparison.

Price was definitely a factor worth observing, but I didn’t want it to dominate the ranking. Sometimes a cheap frozen meal can surprise you, and sometimes an expensive one completely falls apart. I was looking for balance—good sauce, satisfying cheese pulls, proper layering, flavorful meat and tender noodles that didn’t dissolve into mush.

How I Tested the Lasagnas

Each lasagna was cooked according to the package instructions because let’s face it—nobody buying frozen lasagna wants to reinvent the wheel. I judged them based on flavor, texture, appearance, ingredient balance, texture, cheesiness, sauce quality and overall satisfaction.

I also paid close attention to how they looked coming out of the oven because presentation matters just as much as taste. A watery, greasy mess immediately lowers expectations before the first bite even happens.

I tasted every lasagna fresh from the oven and again after cooling slightly because some frozen meals improve once they settle. I also compared the ratio of noodles to filling because too many brands use excessive pasta as filler.

The best lasagnas tasted hearty, layered and cohesive—not like random ingredients collapsing into one another.

12 Frozen Lasagnas, Ranked Worst to Best

After plenty of taste-testing, here’s my ranking of 12 popular frozen lasagnas.

12. On-Cor Lasagna with Meat Sauce

Courtesy Julie Andrews

I was not surprised to rank this one dead last because it was also the least expensive of the bunch and, unfortunately, the quality reflected that immediately. If there was any meat in this lasagna, it seemed completely blended into the sauce beyond recognition. The entire dish felt overwhelmingly pasta-heavy, with barely enough cheese or sauce to keep it interesting. The sauce itself tasted oddly flat, almost like watered-down tomato paste without seasoning.

Visually, this lasagna struggled too. It baked up messy, watery and greasy on top, with noodles sliding apart instead of holding proper layers. It honestly looked more like a cafeteria accident than comfort food.

Related:I Made ‘Skillet Lasagna’ and My Weeknight Dinners Are Forever Changed

11. Bremer Lasagna with Meat Sauce

Courtesy Julie Andrews

Aldi's frozen lasagna had a promising start because the noodles actually tasted homemade and pleasantly thick. Sadly, the rest of the lasagna couldn’t keep up. Like the On-Cor version, the meat seemed blended into the sauce rather than existing as actual chunks. There wasn’t enough ricotta filling, barely any mozzarella on top and the overall flavor was muted.

It also suffered from a slightly greasy, watery top layer common among the lower-ranked lasagnas. The layers slipped around while serving, creating a messy presentation that didn’t inspire confidence.

10. Michael Angelo's Lasagna with Meat Sauce

Courtesy Julie Andrews

This lasagna looked more organized than the previous two, but the flavor simply wasn’t there. The sauce lacked depth, the cheese portions felt stingy and the overall experience was bland from beginning to end. I kept waiting for a punch of garlic, herbs or richness that never arrived.

While the layering was relatively neat and tidy, the finished dish still somehow looked less appetizing than expected.

9. Marie Callender's Italiano Meat Lasagna

Courtesy Julie Andrews

I initially had high hopes when I spotted what looked like fresh herbs smattered across the top. Unfortunately, those herbs became the entire personality of the dish. The parsley flavor was strangely overpowering and even tasted slightly off. I’ve honestly never had parsley dominate a lasagna before. The sauce was lacking in balance and richness overall.

That said, the ratios of noodles, sauce and filling were actually pretty solid. Had the herb situation been toned down, this could have ranked a bit higher.

8. Great Value Meat Lover's Lasagna

Courtesy Julie Andrews

Walmart’s Great Value lasagna was surprisingly decent. The flavor itself wasn’t bad, and the generous amount of cheese definitely helped its score. The biggest issue was the structure. The noodles were very thin, and there simply wasn’t enough filling between layers to create a satisfying bite. Overall, it's a decent option for one of the more budget-friendly options.

Related: These Are the 11 Best Frozen Foods for Blood Sugar, According to Registered Dietitians

7. Good & Gather Meat Lasagna

Courtesy Julie Andrews

Target’s Good & Gather version had an enjoyable flavor overall, even if the lasagna itself was thinner than expected. There were only three relatively thin layers, and each could have used more filling.

However, the seasoning was pleasant and the sauce had a better balance than several higher-priced competitors. This was one of the easier lasagnas to casually finish without complaint.

6. Stouffer's Classic Lasagna

Courtesy Julie Andrews

A true classic. Stouffer’s has been sitting in freezers forever, and honestly, there’s a reason it remains popular. The seasoning was balanced, the layers were thick and there was a satisfying amount of cheese throughout. It delivered exactly what you expect from a comforting frozen lasagna.

The sauce wasn’t my personal favorite among the group, but overall, this lasagna was dependable and satisfying in a very nostalgic way.

5. Trader Joe's Meat Lasagna

Courtesy Julie Andrews

Trader Joe’s delivered a very solid lasagna with hearty layers and generous fillings. The balance of meat, cheese and sauce felt well thought out, and the mozzarella on top browned beautifully in the oven.

It leaned slightly meatier than some others, which gave it a richer flavor overall. This felt like a frozen lasagna designed by people who genuinely enjoy lasagna.

Related: 24 Best Trader Joe’s Frozen Food Under $5

4. Rana Meat Lasagna

Courtesy Julie Andrews

Rana specializes in pasta, so I expected great noodles, and this lasagna absolutely delivered. The texture of the pasta was easily the best in the entire ranking. The layers stayed structured, the cheese melted beautifully, and the overall flavor was rich and comforting.

Interestingly, this was the only lasagna that was refrigerated rather than frozen, though it can be frozen. Not coincidentally, it tasted fresher than many competitors and felt slightly more homemade.

3. Chef Ramsay Lasagna with Bolognese Meat Sauce

Courtesy Julie Andrews

Gordon Ramsay's brand of single-serve lasagna was one of the biggest surprises of the entire taste test. Technically, it uses Bolognese sauce rather than traditional meat sauce, but it absolutely deserved inclusion. The seasoning stood out immediately, with more herbs, spices and complexity than nearly every other lasagna tested.

The ratio of ingredients was spot-on, and every bite tasted intentional rather than mass-produced. For a quick freezer meal, this was seriously impressive.

Related: I Tried the Viral ‘Lazy Lasagna’ Recipe and My Weeknight Dinners Are Forever Changed

2. Rao's Meat Lasagna

Courtesy Julie Andrews

Nobody should be shocked that Rao’s performed extremely well. The brand's sauce reputation alone gave this lasagna a major advantage, and it absolutely delivered. The sauce was rich, balanced and deeply flavorful without tasting overly sweet.

The layers were generous, the filling tasted fresh and the structure held together beautifully. My only slight complaint was that I wanted even more cheese on top; everything else about it was perfect.

Related: I Tried 24 Rao's Sauces (Including the 6 Brand New Ones) and the Winner Tastes 100% Homemade

1. Kirkland's Italian Sausage and Beef Lasagna

Courtesy Julie Andrews

Costco's version was the undisputed champion in this taste test to find the best frozen lasagna. From the moment it came out of the oven, it looked better than every other lasagna tested. The layering was beautiful, the sauce smelled incredible, and the combination of sausage and beef created a depth of flavor nobody else matched.

The sausage added richness, savoriness and even a slight heat that elevated the entire dish without overwhelming it. The sauce struck the perfect balance between sweetness and acidity, while the cheese and meat ratios felt generous and satisfying. Even more impressive, despite containing sausage, it wasn’t greasy at all. Every bite tasted hearty, flavorful and genuinely comforting.

If I had to clear freezer space for only one frozen lasagna, Kirkland’s would win every single time.

Why Is Everyone Suddenly Obsessed With Bigfoot?

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 2:12pm

Something stirred in the American woods early this year, and it wasn't just Bigfoot.

In March, a cluster of eight reported sightings erupted in Portage County, Ohio, in wooded terrain along the Mahoning River near Mantua and Garrettsville, southeast of Cleveland. The Bigfoot Society podcast, which tracked and mapped the reports, said the accounts came in between March 6 and March 10, and that Bigfoot activity like this hadn't been documented in the area since the 1970s. The story landed on CNN, Fox News, and Newsweek. Local residents told reporters everyone was asking the same question: Where is he going?

Just days later, a documentary called Capturing Bigfoot premiered at the South by Southwest Film & TV Festival in Austin, Texas, directed by Marq Evans. The film takes dead aim at the most debated piece of footage in cryptozoology history: the Patterson-Gimlin film, a grainy 59-second clip from 1967 that supposedly captured a large bipedal creature walking through the woods near Bluff Creek, California, and has been argued over for nearly six decades. Evans claims new evidence sheds light on what really happened. One reviewer called it the film that finally delivers the truth, while also noting it doesn't require viewers to stop believing. Peoplecalled it groundbreaking. The Bigfoot community, meanwhile, is being 'torn apart' by what the documentary claims to have found.

The doc doesn't yet have a streaming home and distribution negotiations are reportedly ongoing, with a public release expected summer 2026 if deals conclude. Which means the argument is still very much alive.

Bigfoot! A New Musical opened off-Broadway in early 2026 to critical praise, a new smartphone emoji was added, and NPR's Planet Money announced its first-ever original board game, titled Sell Me A Sasquatch. Six Bigfoot-themed horror films are on the 2026 release calendar. Dozens of Bigfoot festivals have spread across small-town America over the past decade, from the West Virginia Bigfoot Festival to events in Minnesota and Alaska. The Kentucky Red River Gorge Bigfoot Festivalis set for May 30. The Great Florida Bigfoot Conference runs in Ocala in June.

Related: X-Files Fans Have Spoken on the Best Episodes — and Two Are Tied at the Top

The question worth asking is why now. As one researcher told CNN this month, both believers and skeptics seem to agree on at least one thing; it's a lot of fun to talk about. There's also something more elemental at work. In a media landscape where nearly everything is documented, explained, and instantly debunked, an eight-foot mystery that has eluded cameras for 60 years carries the special appeal that something out there still hasn't been figured out.

The Ohio flap stopped as suddenly as it started. The Capturing Bigfoot documentary is still waiting for a release date. The evidence is still contested. And the festivals are still filling up.

And it's still a (big) mystery.
