Marina Squerciati Pulls Off the 'Wildest Crossover Ever' in 'Insane' Photos With Stars From 'The Rookie,' '9-1-1,' 'S.W.A.T.' and More Members of the First Responder 'Multiverse'

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 11:01pm

Chicago P.D.star Marina Squerciati has fans sounding the alarm after she unveiled the "one of the wildest crossovers ever" with her latest Instagram post.

The actress shared several photos on the social media platform this weekend, featuring a variety of fellow faux first responders from no less than five other emergency response-focused television shows: Grey's Anatomy spinoff Station 19, 9-1-1, its spinoff 9-1-1: Lone Star, S.W.A.T. and The Rookie—effectively gathering "TheAvengers" of the emergency "multiverse."

In the first picture, she posed between 9-1-1’sOliver Stark and Grey’s and Station 19 alum Stefania Spampinato. The large group photo also featured Lone Star’sRafael L. Silva and Ronen Rubinstein—who is set to star in Shemar Moore'sS.W.A.T. spin-off S.W.A.T. Exiles—and OG Grey’s star James Pickens Jr. Of course, Squerciati's on-screen husband Patrick John Flueger was also featured.

In the second photo, she and Flueger excitedly mugged with their former co-star and current The Rookie actress Lisseth Chavez, who has also been seen in episodes of Grey’s, Station 19, and S.W.A.T.

It's unclear what the crew was doing all together, but Squerciati was excited to "[make] some new friends"—and, of course, "spot an OLD ONE! 😜."

Fans could hardly process the absolutely "insane collab," with one calling it "one of the wildest crossovers ever."

"All five theme songs playing at the same time like a mashup nobody asked for but EVERYONE needed," one joked in the comments.

"Someone call dispatch because this crossover is a LEVEL TEN EMERGENCY for my serotonin," someone else exclaimed, while another called it "a FEMA‑level emotional disaster."

"My brain can’t handle these worlds colliding!" another viewer admitted.

Someone else pointed out how "every character here has survived at least three catastrophes and one emotional breakdown per season," marveling over "the power" the carousel of photos holds.

The Country Songwriter Behind Multiple No. 1 Hits Died 21 Years Ago Today

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 11:00pm

Twenty-one years ago today, country music lost one of its most successful hitmakers when Ben Peters died on May 25, 2005, at age 71. The Mississippi-born songwriter left behind a catalog packed with country classics, crossover hits and songs that became part of the genre’s DNA.

Peters may not have been a household name to casual listeners, but nearly every country fan knows the songs he wrote.

Over the course of his career, he penned hits recorded by artists including Charley Pride, Freddy Fender, Kenny Rogers, Johnny Rodriguez and Eddy Arnold.

Peters was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1980 in recognition of his enormous impact on country music.

One of his signature compositions was "Before the Next Teardrop Falls," which he co-wrote with Vivian Keith.

The song had been recorded by several artists in the late 1960s, but it became a phenomenon when Fender released his bilingual English-and-Spanish version in 1975. The tender ballad topped both the Billboard country and pop charts, turning Fender into a crossover superstar and becoming one of the defining songs of the decade.

The song’s emotional simplicity helped make it timeless. Its promise of unconditional love resonated with country audiences, while Fender’s warm delivery and Spanish-language verse gave it a unique sound that stood out on radio.

"Before the Next Teardrop Falls" eventually earned a CMA Single of the Year honor and remains one of the most beloved crossover country hits ever recorded.

Peters also wrote some of the biggest hits of Pride’s career. Pride recorded dozens of Peters compositions, including the smash "Kiss an Angel Good Mornin,'" which became a No. 1 country hit and crossed over to the pop charts in 1971. Peters later won a Grammy for Best Country Song for writing the track.

Other major Peters songs included "It’s Gonna Take a Little Bit Longer" for Pride, "Daytime Friends" for Rogers, "Love Put a Song in My Heart" for Rodriguez and Arnold’s "Turn the World Around."

Though Peters briefly recorded music himself, scoring a modest hit with "San Francisco Is a Lonely Town" in 1969, his greatest legacy was as a songwriter whose words and melodies helped define country music in the 1970s.

'You Get the Love of Your Life Too Young' — The Bittersweet Truth Glen Campbell’s Ex-Wife Shared

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 11:00pm

Years after their famously turbulent romance made tabloid headlines, Tanya Tucker is still reflecting on her relationship with Glen Campbell in a way that many fans found surprisingly emotional.

In a resurfaced interview with AXS TV, Tucker, 67, opened up about the messy, passionate and often chaotic relationship she shared with Campbell during the early 1980s and admitted she now sees it very differently looking back.

"I think sometimes you get the love of your life when you’re too young," Tucker said, reflecting on why their relationship ultimately fell apart.

For longtime country music fans, the pairing between Tucker and Campbell remains one of the genre’s most fascinating and volatile love stories.

At the time, Tucker was still in her early 20s while Campbell was already an established superstar more than two decades older than her. Their relationship played out publicly through explosive fights, breakups, reconciliations and constant tabloid attention.

But what struck fans most about the interview wasn’t the drama.

It was the regret.

Tucker admitted she was young, impulsive and often knew exactly how to "push the buttons" in the relationship. She also acknowledged how deeply addiction and fame complicated things for both of them during that period of their lives.

"I appreciate her honesty about her life, achievements and mistakes," one comment reads. "Being a celebrity couldn't be easy and it destroys a lot of people, it's nice to see someone overcome that."

"'You get the love of your life when you're too young,'" another reiterated. "No more true words have ever been spoken!"

"I remember all the cover stories on her rocky relationship with Glen Campbell," another added.

"It was shocking because before that both Tanya and Glen had squeaky clean reputations, then it became all about drinking, drugging and fighting. I'm still a fan of both of them."

Even after everything that happened between them, Tucker has continued to speak about Campbell with enormous affection over the years.

Following his death in 2017, she released the tribute song "Forever Loving You" and publicly admitted she never stopped loving him.

And for many people, Tucker’s reflection about meeting "the love of your life" too early hits a little harder with age.

'80s Rock Band, Disbanding in Less Than One Year, Ranked Among Failed Supergroups

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 10:15pm

In the early 1980s, Hagar Schon Aaronson Shrieve, consisting of notable members from highly influential bands, formed a supergroup that failed to live up to expectations.

Despite the core members consisting of lead vocalist Sammy Hagar from Montrose and later Van Halen, lead guitarist Neal Schon of Journey, bassist Kenny Aaronson, who played with Joan Jett and Billy Idol and drummer Michael Shrieve of Santana, the band was later identified as a "Flash-in-the-Pan" supergroup.

The band’s short-lived run later earned them recognition as one of rock’s most notable “failed supergroups” of all time.

In a report cited by BBC Music, Hagar Schon Aaronson Shrieve, also known as HSAS, was among the nine supergroups that failed to recreate the same spark and success they had achieved with their original bands.

Formed in 1983, the quartet released their debut album, Through the Fire, in 1984.

Having this as their only album, HSAS managed to highlight their unique sound through a blend of progressive and arena rock.

Among the standout tracks was "A Whiter Shade of Pale," a cover of a song by the British rock group Procol Harum.

Making this their only chart-hitting single, the song peaked at No. 94 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Another signature song by the four-member band was "Top of the Rock." It is widely considered their anthem.

Meanwhile, "Missing You" was the band’s fan-favorite single, which featured the undeniable chemistry between Schon's impressive guitar work and Hagar's striking vocals.

Unfortunately, following the one-and-done album, HSAS officially disbanded less than a year after their debut.

Apart from the album, the band never went on a full tour. Shrieve once spoke about his frustration with the supergroup, especially regarding touring.

“A band like that should go on the road like real men do,” the drummer told Ultimate Classic Rock, adding, “They go out on the road and you take it everywhere. That’s how you do that. And that was the reason why, in my opinion, it didn’t do what it should have done.”

Moreover, Shrieve thought that it would be best for the band to perform “all around the country,” but others “didn’t want to do it.”

“They felt that they could sit back in their armchairs and sell records just by putting out a freaking video,” he added, referring to bandmates Hagar and Schon.

After HSAS, the members returned to their respective bands. Hagar went on to pursue a solo career and later joined Van Halen in 1985.

1972 Rock Classic, Originally Written During Iconic World Tour, Became a Road Trip Anthem

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 9:59pm

In 1972, Deep Purple released a hard rock song so fast, loud and adrenaline-fueled that it would eventually become one of the greatest driving anthems in rock history.

"Highway Star" first emerged during one of the band's iconic world tours and quickly evolved into a cornerstone of classic rock radio.

The song's origin story has become part of rock legend.

"We wrote it on a tour bus on the way to Portsmouth," said bassist Roger Glover in an interview. "We had some journalists with us who were coming down to cover the gig, and one of them asked us how we write songs. Ritchie [Blackmore] said 'Like this!' and started chugging out this riff on the guitar. Ian [Gillan] started singing any crap lyrics he could think of, and before long we just forgot about the journalists and the song came out. As the bootlegs will prove, we played it at the gig that night. The name was just a tribute to the fact that the song was written on the highway."

That spontaneous jam eventually became one of the defining hard rock songs of the 1970s.

Released on the landmark album Machine Head, "Highway Star" perfectly captured Deep Purple’s explosive chemistry during the band’s classic lineup era.

The song became especially famous for Blackmore's virtuosic guitar solo and keyboardist Jon Lord's rapid-fire organ playing, both of which helped establish the blueprint for generations of hard rock and heavy metal musicians that followed. Lyrically, the song celebrated pure motion and obsession with driving fast, making it an obvious fit for road trips and highway playlists.

Even though it was never a No. 1 pop hit, "Highway Star" became enormously influential through radio and live performances. The song often opened Deep Purple concerts because of its sheer intensity and ability to instantly energize audiences.

"When we play 'Highway Star' it's the same freshness as when we played it years ago because it's to a new audience," Glover told The Quietus. "And as I said you're experiencing it through the audience, we’re not playing for ourselves. It's invigorating."

The track also arrived during a transformative period for heavy rock music, alongside classics like Smoke on the Water, helping cement Deep Purple's status as one of the foundational hard rock bands of all time.

Over the decades, "Highway Star" became deeply associated with driving culture thanks to its relentless momentum and themes of speed and escape.

More than 50 years later, the song still sounds thrillingly fast and unapologetically loud. It's a timeless rock anthem born from a band improvising on the road and accidentally creating history.

Trader Joe's Shoppers Warn New Gummy Worms Come With One Surprising Side Effect

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 8:59pm

Trader Joe's is getting attention for its new zero-sugar gummy worms—but not for the reason you might expect.

While the Sweet & Sour Gummy Worms Candies are advertised as a guilt-free sweet treat, shoppers say the high-fiber content is sending them straight to the bathroom.

A single serving of the gummy worms, eight pieces, contains 14 grams of dietary fiber—half of what the average adult needs per day according to USDA recommendations.

To make the situation worse, the product wasn't marketed as high fiber, meaning most customers didn't realize the side effects until it was too late.

“I ate the whole bag high not realizing how much fiber was in these,” one person wrote on Reddit. “I have been pooping for three days now!”

"I’ve been pooping all day and my stomach keeps rumbling," said another, while a third joked, "These should be great for curing constipation."

"I made a mistake and ate a whole bag while watching tv. I was late for work that next morning," TikTok userSondra Tamagotchi added.

The issue has become so widespread that, according to USA Today, Trader Joe’s employees are now personally warning customers who purchase the fruity-flavored candies at their stores.

A TikTok video from Tuesday, May 19 also showed a warning sign next to the candy at a Trader Joe's store, saying that each bag of the gummy worms contains 70 grams of fiber.

Although the product is zero-sugar and high-fiber, health conscious customers should note the packaging states it should not be considered a low-calorie food, as each serving has 35 calories.

Country Star's Memorial Day Performance Resurfaces as One of the 'Most Moving' Tributes of All Time

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 8:50pm

It's been 10 years since Trace Adkinsdelivered one of the most touching Memorial Day performances.

In 2016, the country superstar took the stage at the National Memorial Day Concert put on annually by PBS to sing his 2005 track "Arlington," and his reverent tribute remains one of the most memorable performances in the event's history.

In fact, American Songwriter includes Adkins' 2016 performance on its list of the 3 of the Most Moving National Memorial Day Concert Performances, which was published in 2024. (The list also includes Charles Esten's 2018 cover of "Some Gave All" by Billy Ray Cyrus and Cynthia Erivo's performance of "Requiem for a Solider" in 2018.)

Adkins released "Arlington" in June 2005 as the second single from his hit album Songs About Me. The song is told from the perspective of a fallen American soldier who has been brought "home" and laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery. It peaked at No. 16 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart in August 2005, and remains of the most beloved songs about American patriotism in country music history.

"Arlington" is frequently included on lists of the most patriotic country songs of all time, including rankings from Country Thang Daily and Woman’s World, both of which placed the Adkins track at No. 6.

It also currently sits at No. 6 on the fan-voted list of the best patriotic country songs by Ranker.

Adkins has performed "Arlington" on a number of patriotic occasions, and it was included on the setlist for his concert on Friday, May 22 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, which took place over Memorial Day weekend.

Adkins will also be performing this year at the U.S. Capitol's celebration of the 250th anniversary of the U.S., where he is expected to play his new song "American Made" on national television for the first time.

"A Capital Fourth: 250 Weekend Celebration" airs July 3rd at 8 pm E.T. on public television stations nationwide (check local listings), and for American Forces Network for service members around the world.

Dr Pepper Creamy Coconut was introduced as a limited-time flavor in April 2024, seemingly inspired by the "dirty soda" trend. Although fans quickly fell in love with the offering, available in both regular and Zero versions, many lamented not being able to find the limited-edition beverage.

Someone else exclaimed, "The best flavor ever!!!!" as a different follower wrote, "Do not make me cry tears of joy right now 😭," and yet another proclaimed, "LFG 🥥🔥."

However, not everyone was as thrilled about Dr Pepper Creamy Coconut joining the permanent line-up, with one Instagram user snarking, "Yes, I love sunscreen flavored Dr Pepper."

A second echoed, "I’ll never understand how people like a soda that tastes like I’m drinking out of a sunscreen bottle 😭."

"I think it might finally be a meat I could get both my kids to add to their tacos," added another on Facebook. "This is like a nugget.. much more kid friendly."

Some fans even said the new addition is like having "Chick-fil-A in a burrito."

Still, some critics are skeptical that the chicken will stay crispy once it’s wrapped in a burrito or piled into a bowl—and so far, the chain hasn’t revealed how it plans to maintain the texture and freshness.

Robert Shaw's Strange Reaction to the 'Jaws' Boat Sinking

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 8:18pm

Stunts were important for Jaws' success, but they weren't easy to pull off. Luckily, they tried and it led to a groundbreaking blockbuster. Richard Dreyfuss, who played Hooper revealed what his co-star, Robert Shaw, did when they thought their boat was sinking.

Robert Shaw Fixed His Clothes During a 'Jaws' Emergency Screen Archives/Getty Images

Screen Archives/Getty Images

Dreyfuss, 78, talked about the filming of the shark movie with Route magazine. He said stunt wrangler Freddy Zendar took the wheel of the boat after someone on the radio claimed the ship was sinking. Some of the cast started to prepare to get into the safety boats.

"And, Robert Shaw decided that if he was going to drown in the Atlantic, he was going to be neat," Dreyfuss said. "So, he buttoned up his shirt and his sleeves, and he anchored his hat on the top of his head, and he stood at the bow with his arms crossed while 17,000 safety boats were just criss-crossing and trying to get everyone off the boat."

Related: ’80s Star Says Playing He-Man Isn’t Only About Strength

Dreyfuss said he tried to help a 70-year-old sound man get out first. Director Steven Spielberg yelled repeatedly to get the actors off the boat.

Shaw got the role of Quint because Dick Zanuck and David Brown suggested him to Spielberg, 79. The director agreed after watching him in A Man for All Seasons and From Russia with Love, according to Vanity Fair.

The director said Shaw liked to play ping-pong with Zanuck during production. One time Shaw lost and tried to fight Zanuck, but other people stopped it.

There seems to plenty stories about the making of Jaws from the shark repeatedly not working to the actors being characters themselves.

Bagel Bites Debuts New Snack Style That Has Fans 'Salivating'

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 7:49pm

A longtime staple of the freezer aisle is rolling out a brand-new savory treat that already has loyal customers salivating behind their screens.

Alongside the return of a previous limited edition drop, Bagel Bites is getting into the pizza roll game, dishing out what looks to be a combination of a pizza roll (where pizza fixings like cheese, tomato sauce, and sausage or veggies, etc. are baked inside a small pocked of dough) and a pizza log (which combines pizza ingredients rolled up inside something like an egg roll or wonton wrapper before being fried), aptly called Rolled Pizza Snacks.

The new offering comes in three cheese or cheese and pepperoni variants stuffed inside a bagel-style flour tortilla, and they've already been spotted at Giant, according to foodie Instagrammer markie_devo, with expectations to see them hitting other stores soon.

Cheeseburger-style Bagel Bites are also heading back to store shelves—which haven't been around since the '90s, if the internet is to be believed—featuring crumbled beef on top of a cheesy sauce.

"Air fryer on these is probably gonna go CRAZY," Tommy added.

Several fans agreed that the new snack "Sounds delish 🤩," with one gushing, "Omg I am salivating 😩," and another affirming, "This i am excited for! 😭."

"o heck ya with the pizza rolls," someone else said excitedly.

Unfortunately, one commenter has already had the opportunity to try them and found them "underwhelming," noting, "They are very hollow and hardly filled. You get more food for your buck with the actual bagel bites😢."

Still, we're intrigued, and think we'll judge them for ourselves.

One song that would become an enduring hit of the 1970s almost didn't make it to release, only to go on to become a huge success. That track is none other than The Doobie Brothers' song "What a Fool Believes," which came out as an official single for the album Minute by Minute in 1978.

The song is a cover of a track originally recorded by Kenny Loggins and released on his 1978 album Nightwatch. He wrote the song with the lead vocalist of The Doobie Brothers, Michael McDonald, who decided to give the tune a go with his own band's version the same year. Loggins' version came out only five months before McDonald and The Doobie Brothers' version.

The Doobie Brothers worked with producer Ted Templeman on their version of "What a Fool Believes," but he didn't have the same faith in the song as they did. In the book Inside the Hits, Templeman revealed how much they struggled to find the right arrangement for the track. Eventually, Templeman played the drums for the song himself, giving it a "floppy feel... It flops around, the drums aren't perfect, nothing's perfect on it."

Years later, Templeman made a bold admission in an interview with The Guardian in 2022. He said that he still felt like the song "wasn't right" when he presented it to Warner Bros. and executives, telling them, "This thing is a piece of crap. but I’ll play it for you anyway."

"I was just about ready to throw it away," the producer declared. Luckily, the record label felt differently about the song. Templeman recalled people in the room telling him, "Are you crazy? That’s great!"

In the end, "What a Fool Believes" made it on The Doobie Brothers' 1978 album, and they're probably really glad it did. The song was an unexpected hit, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in April 1979. Going even further, the song earned the band two of the biggest Grammy Awards of the year, for Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

Kyle Busch’s Wife and Children Share Emotional Moment During Tearful Tribute Before Coca-Cola 600

Sun, 05/24/2026 - 7:40pm

Kyle Busch was supposed to be racing in the Coca-Cola 600 on Sunday, May 24.

But instead, the NASCAR community came together to honor the racing legend ahead of the event following his tragic passing.

And among them was Busch's beloved family, which included his wife Samantha, his children Brexton and Lennix, his parents Tom and Gaye, and his brother and NASCAR Hall of Famer Kurt Busch.

— Sports on Prime (@SportsonPrime) May 24, 2026

They were joined on the infield by NASCAR president Steve O’Donnell.

“Every racetrack was Kyle Busch’s home,” O’Donnell said.  “He competed like he had something to prove every single race, when in reality he had already proven everything. What I think we’ll miss the most isn’t the wins. It’s the guy who quietly wanted to help a teammate, give some advice, the husband, the father, the guy who quietly did thing for other when no one was watching.”

He also shared some heartfelt words aimed directly at the family.

“Samantha, I want you to know that this sport stands with you, and you and your children are NASCAR family forever," O’Donnell added. "Brexton and Lennix, your dad loves you with all his heart. Everyone gathered here, everyone behind you, everyone watching on TV and all those people up in that grandstand, they are your family and we’ve got you.”

Busch died on May 21 at the age of 41, with his cause of death being ruled as pneumonia that progressed into sepsis. He was set to compete in the Coca-Cola 600, but it was announced by his family shortly before his death that he was rushed to the hospital with a severe illness that would sideline him from the race. He previously won the event in 2018.

Throughout his career, Busch won 234 races, including 63 Cup Series victories and Cup Series championships in 2015 and 2019.

"Kyle Busch is NASCAR," O’Donnell concluded. "He was one of a kind, and there will never be another.”

Billy Ray Cyrus' "Some Gave All" Only Peaked at No. 52

Even though the song has remained an enduring patriotic ballad in the 30 years since its release, Cyrus' "Some Gave All" wasn't necessarily a commercial chart success when it first came out — it didn't even crack the top 10 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart.

Instead, "Some Gave All" peaked at No. 52 in May 1993 and spent a total of twelve weeks at various spots on the chart.
