60 years ago, the world experienced one of the most important years in music history. A handful of classic artists had begun shifting the conception of popular music from entertainment to art with some groundbreaking albums. Music was becoming something much greater than it had been previously, and that’s thanks to albums like “Blonde on Blonde,” “Revolver,” Buffalo Springfield’s Self Titled, and maybe the most influential of all, “Pet Sounds.”

Going into 1966, The Beach Boys were something akin to a modern boy band. They made fun surf pop records that kids could listen to to celebrate the summer sun and the recreation that comes with that. This was making them incredibly successful, but it wasn’t enough for principle songwriter and musical genius Brian Wilson, who wanted the band to be more than parties and girls in bikinis. The album that was born from that artistic pursuit was “Pet Sounds,” an album that not only completely reinvented the way musicians operate in the studio, but also birthed some of the most important releases to come after, chief among these being “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.”

Paul McCartney has long shared his love of the album. In an interview to be published in the CD release of Pet Sounds, McCartney gushed about the record, saying “it was Pet Sounds that blew me out of the water. First of all, it was Brian’s writing. I love the album so much. I’ve just bought my kids each a copy of it for their education in life—I figure no one is educated musically ’til they’ve heard that album. I was into the writing and the songs.”

Maybe the song that gets the most love is “God Only Knows,” which McCartney has stated as his favorite song before, which is also brought up in the interview. McCartney remarked that ” “It’s a really, really great song—it’s a big favorite of mine. I was asked recently to give my top ten favorite songs for a Japanese radio station…I didn’t think long and hard on it, but I popped that [“God Only Knows”] on the top of my list. [Thinks for a moment] It’s very deep. [Quotes the lyrics to “God Only Knows”] Very emotional, always a bit of a choker for me, that one. There are certain songs that just hit home with me, and they’re the strangest collection of songs…but that is high on the list, I must say.”

Despite all the reverence for the record, it was close to a commercial disaster for the band. It still sold moderately well, but people didn’t understand the album well at all. For a band that was maybe the most popular in the country, a steep drop in sales was a huge blow. Wilson himself was extremely hurt by the response to the album, and it was something that really bothered him for a long time. Thankfully, the world eventually came around to understand it as one of the great records of all time.

In 2024, celebrated director Guy Ritchie finally made his first major crossover to TV. He didn’t stray too far from his film roots, however, bringing an adaptation of his 2019 movie The Gentleman to streaming. The series eschews Matthew McConaughey in favor of Theo James, who leads the cast as a former Army captain turned newfound Duke. Season 2, which released Sept. 3, continues to ramp up both the action and the laughs, as Eddie (James) must contend with the churning criminal activity surrounding his family. And with a third season already confirmed, we should be “Ritchie” with plenty of The Gentleman in the near future.

Daniel Stern, who is best known as Marv in Home Alone, will be forever memorialized in the film’s iconic home.

Stern, 69, rose to stardom in acclaimed films like Hannah and Her Sisters and Diner. But it was his role as Marv, one-half of the Wet Bandits alongside Joe Pesci in the beloved 1990 holiday classic starring Macaulay Culkin, that made him a household name. The film, written by John Hughes, followed Kevin McCallister, an eight-year-old boy who gets left behind while his family heads to Paris for Christmas. The film went down in history and made the palatial house in Winnetka, a suburb of Chicago, a tourist destination.

Now, Stern, who has a successful side career as a bronze sculptor, has been commissioned by the new owners of the Home Alone house to do a sculpture for the home. Noting that they’re returning the home to its former glory, the piece will feature Marv with a tarantula crawling on his face, like the famed scene.

Stern’s willingness to participate in the fun Home Alone art project is a departure for the star, who prefers to hang out at home and work on his art.

“I don’t leave my farm,” Stern laughed last year in an interview with PEOPLE. “It’s no offense to the movie. I’m just … a phone call, Zoom call, I’m in. but… I’m a bit of a homebody.”

The Home Alone fandom can get pretty intense, as well.

“I love knowing that everybody loves it but, like, actual people come at me and say, ‘We love it.’ It’s a little overwhelming sometimes,” he shared.

However, Stern still brings plenty of comedy to life on his farm. In a recent video, which featured his beautiful horses in the background, the star joked that he was thinking of becoming a TikTok influencer.

Jennifer Aniston is carrying a little bit of Dolly Parton’s wisdom with her.

Just days after the country music legend’s death, Aniston shared a piece of advice Parton once gave her and it’s the kind of simple, hopeful message that feels especially meaningful now.

At a recent event at the 92nd Street Y in New York City, Jennifer Aniston opened up about the advice her late collaborator and friend Dolly Parton once shared with her – words that have clearly stayed with the Friends star long after she first heard them. When asked what wisdom she would pass along to others, Aniston didn’t hesitate to credit Parton, who died on Aug. 25 at the age of 80, as first reported by People.

“She would say, ‘I chased a few rainbows and I caught some and I caught a few,'” Aniston recalled warmly. “So I would say just go chase your dreams and go catch some rainbows. Chase rainbows.”

It’s the kind of advice that could only come from Dolly: equal parts poetic, practical, and irresistibly optimistic. And coming from a woman who spent a lifetime turning dreams into reality, the words carry real weight.

Aniston and Parton had a special connection that went beyond their friendship. The two worked together on the 2018 film Dumplin’, which starred Danielle Macdonald as a teenager who enters a beauty pageant and finds confidence along the way. Aniston played her mother, a former beauty queen, while Parton contributed music to the film’s soundtrack, including the Grammy- and Golden Globe-nominated song “Girl in the Movies.” 

Their friendship clearly ran deeper than a single project. Aniston has also been working on a reimagining of the 1980 film 9 to 5 (the movie that marked Parton’s acting debut), and Dolly gave it her blessing, saying of Aniston, “I love Jennifer. I think it’ll be a wonderful thing.”

UPDATE: Clancy’s lawyer has moved for an emergency stay

Lindsay Clancy, a Massachusetts mother who was charged with murder in the killings of her three children, has come to an end after jurors failed to reach a unanimous verdict after more than five days of deliberation.

As a result, it ended in a mistrial.

“With a heavy heart, we report we are unable to come to a unanimous decision. We will not be able to,” a note from the jury on Friday, Sept. 4 said, per PEOPLE.

“I have no choice but to declare a mistrial,” Judge William Sullivan then said.

The jurors had the option of finding Clancy guilty of first-degree murder, second-degree murder, or manslaughter, or finding her not guilty or not guilty by reason of lack of criminal responsibility.

On Thursday, which was just a day before the mistrial ruling, jurors sent a note to the court saying that they were deadlocked, while also implying that it was one juror who was holding out. Clancy’s attorney, Kevin Reddington, then asked the judge to dismiss the juror, but the judge declined to do so.

“The note indicates that the juror has acknowledged doubt but refuses to apply it,” Sullivan said. “That note does not indicate that the juror refuses to follow the law.”

Clancy killed her three children, Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and 8-month-old Callan, in her Duxbury, Mass., home in January 2023. She then jumped from a second-story window in an apparent suicide attempt, which resulted in her being paralyzed from the waist down. The defense argued that Clancy’s actions were due to her being overmedicated and suffering from postpartum psychosis at the time.

In the opening scenes of Forrest Gump, viewers are introduced to a young Forrest and his childhood best friend, Jenny Curran.

Young Jenny instantly stole hearts as Forrest’s defender and companion, despite his leg braces. The actress who famously shouted “Run, Forrest. Run,” was then 9-year-old Hanna Hall.

Three decades after the release of the Oscar-nominated film, fans are curious about what Hall is up to now.

Luckily, Hall, 42, is still acting and is known to appear at movie and pop culture conventions, taking a photo with a fan in July 2026.

Following the success of Forrest Gump, Hall went on to star in several popular movies and TV shows, including The Virgin Suicides, Halloween, and Criminal Minds. Most recently, she starred in the 2022 film Forgotten, alongside Tom Sizemore. She also has two projects in the works.

However, Hall still has fond memories of her time on the set of Forrest Gump and playing Young Jenny.

“I loved doing that with my friends while growing up. It wasn’t a career that I was necessarily interested in at the time, but it was definitely something that I always enjoyed doing,” she told Indie Outlook of playing the friendly character. “I was so young that I don’t think I even questioned it. That first film was a very organic experience.”

She also revealed that many of the scenes she filmed for the Robert Zemeckis-directed movie were cut.

“I had read the whole script. I was about 8 years old, and I understood the full extent of the character’s journey and what she had been through. They actually cut out a lot of the scenes that dealt with the abuse that happened to Jenny when she was younger,” she added. “I think they had a scene where they implied that I killed my father. When you’re that age, you don’t question the fact that it’s not you. You understand that the character is not you, and the older you get, the more your character’s [struggles] get in your head.”

Manifest is heading back to screens sometime soon! Well, sort of. The driving forces behind the hit series—which cultivated such a large and passionate fanbase that Netflix had no choice but to save it from NBC’s cancellation—have announced a spinoff “coming soon” to the beloved streaming platform.

Here’s everything we know so far about the Manifest spinoff, Arrivals.

The timeline for Arrivals, in comparison to Manifest, is not yet known. It seems a likely guess that it will take place some time after the events of its predecessor, but there’s not yet any confirmation on that.

No, there’s no trailer for Arrivals yet. As the series was just announced to the public, it’s like still in the preproduction and casting phase.

Since the series is reportedly “coming soon,” it seems likely that filming will commence any time now, but the official production schedule is not yet known.

According to the official announcement from Netflix, Arrivals is “coming soon,” but there’s no official premiere date yet.

According to Deadline, the spinoff will center on another plane, which crash-lands in Denver. Those onboard have no memory of their past, including their city of origin or their intended destination, with no clue how they ended up where they did.

A budding social worker pairs up with a new Homeland Security agent, working with the town’s new arrivals to put a stop to an as of yet unknown threat to humanity. Throughout their fight against a would-be “humanity-ending catastrophe,” they find, that’s right—that it’s all connected.

There’s no word on casting just yet, but Manifest stars Josh Dallas, Melissa Roxburgh, J.R. Ramirez, Matt Long and Garrett Wareing have all expressed their excitement over the news, and we have a feeling cameos are not off of the table.

There’s a reason people still argue about The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on Reddit threads and gaming YouTube almost 30 years later. It’s not nostalgia goggles talking.

Back in 1998, critics were losing their minds over it. Famitsu, the Japanese gaming magazine known for being brutally stingy with high scores, gave it a perfect 40 out of 40. That had literally never happened before in the outlet’s history. Meanwhile, IGN’s staff reportedly locked themselves in a room with a big-screen TV the second the final build showed up and didn’t stop playing for 17 hours straight. That’s the kind of reaction this game got before “viral” was even a concept.

All these years later, Ocarina of Time still sits at a 99 on Metacritic, the highest score any video game has ever received. Not the highest for its era, the highest ever, full stop, ahead of everything that’s come out since.

What’s wild is how much of the game people are still discovering. There’s an entire speedrunning community that treats Ocarina of Time like a sacred text, finding new glitches and shortcuts in a 26-year-old game like it’s brand new. Modders keep building romhacks and randomizers to squeeze fresh playthroughs out of it. And Koji Kondo’s soundtrack, especially Zelda’s Lullaby and the Song of Storms, still shows up in orchestral game concerts today, decades after it first played through a tinny N64 speaker.

Part of what keeps it alive is that so much of what felt experimental in 1998 just became the standard afterward. Lock-on combat, expansive 3D worlds, using music as an actual gameplay mechanic instead of background noise, all of that traces back to this game. Newer titles keep trying to top it, and plenty come close, but nothing has managed to actually knock it off its perch.

Maria Bartiromo is speaking out following the shocking statement released by FOX News, saying that the popular personality was no longer with the network “effective immediately.”

In a statement shared with Parade by her attorney, Bryan Freedman, he called out the “irresponsible’ reports surrounding Bartiromo’s departure from the network. Specifically, it concerned news that she had been fired.

“For many years, Maria Bartiromo hosted three number-one-rated television shows on Fox channels. She has been, without question,  one of the hardest-working journalists throughout her award-winning career.,” the statement read.

“The irresponsible reports that have been published stating that Maria Bartiromo was fired or is no longer an employee of Fox are absolutely and unequivocally false. Make no mistake, we have the receipts and witnesses and they will come out whether through the courthouse or otherwise. Those reporting her firing or the incredulous facts supporting that fiction have exhibited a complete and utter reckless disregard for the truth. “

News of Bartiromo’s departure was shared by the network on Thursday, Sept. 3.

“We thank Maria for her work over the last 12 ½ years and wish her all the best on her next chapter,” the press release read, adding that her show will now be hosted by a rotating cast of anchors and is being renamed “Mornings With Fox Business.” Her other show, “Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street,” will also no longer have her name.

President Donald Trump also spoke out regarding Bartiromo’s exit, calling her ” a true warrior.”

“I can’t believe Maria Bartiromo is no longer going to have her great show(s) on FoxNews/Business,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Three different shows, always number one. Maria is a total professional, and a true warrior.” 

“Her fans, of which there are many, will not be happy. God bless you, Maria! President DONALD J. TRUMP,” he concluded.

There was also speculation that Bartiromo’s exit could be tied to her replacing Karoline Leavitt as Trump’s press secretary, but that rumors was quickly shut down by Vice President JD Vance.

“I love Maria. I think she’s an amazing person, amazing talent,” Vance told reporters. “Whatever she does, look, she’s gonna do great, and I wish her all the best.”

Just one day after it was announced that Maria Bartiromo is out at Fox News, Donald Trump is breaking his silence on her sudden exit.

Trump, a longtime fan of Bartiromo, took to Truth Social to show his support for the TV personality.

“I can’t believe Maria Bartiromo is no longer going to have her great show(s) on FoxNews/Business,” Trump wrote. “Three different shows, always number one. Maria is a total professional, and a true warrior.”

He continued, “Her fans, of which there are many, will not be happy. God bless you, Maria! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”

During her time on Fox News, Bartiromo, 58, co-moderated two debates during the 2016 presidential election. She also interviewed Trump several times, most recently sitting down with the President in April 2026 to discuss the Iran War.

Trump has also spoken highly of Bartiromo in the past, and in 2025, it was reported that Trump even wanted the Fox News host as his running mate. However, there was “no time to vet Bartiromo, as they had spent months doing with other candidates.”

And the feeling is mutual. Bartiromo has been a staunch supporter of Trump on and off air, promoting Trump’s election fraud allegations and conducting his first interview following his loss for re-election in 2020.

The media company announced Bartiromo’s departure on Thursday, September 3, writing, “We thank Maria for her work over the last 12 ½ years and wish her all the best on her next chapter.”

While no specific reason has been given for her abrupt exit, fans have some theories, including that Bartiromo will replace Karoline Leavitt as Trump’s press secretary. There are also reports that the two-time Emmy-winning journalist was fired for “leaking information about her employer to the White House,” per Status.

Bartiromo has yet to comment on her exit or plans for her future.

Per Brooklyn-based food blogger Markie Devo, the strawberry shortcake roll cookie is a chilled cakey cookie sitting on a layer of melted white drops, topped with a swirl of strawberry jam and whipped cream.

The unicorn cake cookie is a whimsical addition to the menu, featuring a strawberry cake cookie topped with a swirl of purple vanilla mousse, fully coated in white drops, dusted with purple sugar, and finished with a blue white drop drizzle. The oatmeal cream pie cookie is made up of two thin oatmeal cookies with a layer of marshmallow cream cheese frosting sandwiched in between, while the striking zebra cake is a double layered vanilla cake filled with marshmallow cream cheese frosting, coated in melted white drops, and finished with chocolate drizzles.

Rounding out the Sept. 7-Sept. 12 line-up are two returning chocolate lovers’ fan-favorites: the cosmic brownie cookie and the chocolate fudge cupcake cookie.

Dessert fans on the /CrumblCookies Subreddit are thrilled about the line-up, with the oatmeal cream pie cookie being a much-anticipated item.

“I always have a box of the oatmeal cream sandwich cookies in my cabinet 🥰 I’m excited to try this one 🤎,” one Reddit user wrote.

“OATMEAL CREME PIE???? Stop it,” said another. “I’ll get 100 of them.”

A third expressed their disappointment at the lack of Swiss Roll-inspired desserts, which is one of Little Debbie’s top-selling offerings.

They noted, “No Swiss cake? What even is the point of doing Little Debbie week if you aren’t going to do the Swiss cake? Smdh.”

Laura Nyro would become known as one of the best songwriters in the ’70s, responsible for hit tracks for multiple groups, especially her first-ever hit, “And When I Die,” which was recorded by two different bands.

Born in the Bronx in New York City, Nyro was the daughter of a jazz trumpeter and a bookkeeper. She composed her first song when she was only eight years old and once commented, “I’ve created my own little world, a world of music, since I was five years old.”

Nyro wrote and sold her first track as a songwriter, titled “And When I Die,” before recording her debut album and a few popular tracks in the mid-60s. The track was an unusual one with no real chorus, and its lyrics focused on a positive outlook on death. Arrows’ Alan Merrill, whose aunt married her uncle, remembers when she first wrote the song.

“I was in the room when Laura wrote that song and I told her to trash it. I told her it was ‘morbid.’ I was 15. Death was very distant and scary at the time. It was her first chart hit song, for Peter Paul & Mary. What did I know?” he explained, according to SongFacts.

Nyro ended up selling “And When I Die” to the folk group Peter, Paul, and Mary in 1966. She sold it for $5,000. The equivalent of over $51,000 in today’s market. Peter, Paul, and Mary were the first to record Nyro’s song for their sixth studio album, The Peter, Paul and Mary Album. For Nyro, the track came naturally because it has a certain “Folk wisdom” teenagers have.

“I was reading poetry from the time I was really young. And I really liked poetry. So by the time I started writing songs, I was in a poetic frame of mind. And I’d also been passionately listening to music since I was really young. I was listening to John Coltrane and Miles Davis when I was 14. So by my late teens, when I wrote ‘And When I Die,’ I was already deep inside of music,” she explained, according to American Songwriter.

While the folk group was the first to release it, it didn’t gain traction until 1969, when the jazz-rock group Blood, Sweat & Tears recorded it. It appeared on their self-titled second album and was the third single. The track proved a success, landing them at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 4 on the Easy Listening chart.

According to lead singer David Clayton-Thomas, Nyro was dating their bass player, Jimmy Fielder, at the time. He recalls her always hanging out with the band during rehearsals, bringing pizza, and having always heard her songs before she launched her career. Nyro was part of “the inner circle of people we hung out with.”

Nyro would ultimately record “And When I Die” for her own debut album, More Than a New Discovery, in 1967. She received a record deal after she gained recognition for Peter, Paul and Mary’s version of her song.

In 1973, KISS was formed in New York City by Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss. Known for their hard-driving music and glam personas— the Starchild, the Demon, the Spaceman, and the Catman, respectively—KISS defined the early glam rock era, pounding out hits such as “Rock and Roll All Nite,” “Beth,” and “Detroit Rock City” in the 1970s.

But over KISS’s 50-year career, they underwent multiple lineup changes, with only two original members staying in place throughout the entire run.

By the 1980s, the band had a different look, and not just because they ditched their makeup. Frehley and Criss both left KISS multiple times amid substance abuse issues and creative differences with the band. In the end, they were bought out by Simmons and Stanley.

In an interview posted by The Moynihan Report on Sept. 3, Simmons, 77, looked back on the band’s legacy a year after Frehley’s death.

“Ace and Peter handled it for a few years, and then they were in and out of the band three different times,” Simmons shared.  “And it breaks the heart of fans. For me… If I tell the truth, you know, you have your mom and dad and your mom turns to the kids and says, ‘Your dad’s not at home. I threw him out because he’s a drunken loser and he doesn’t show up on time and he doesn’t go to work and all that stuff.’ The kids are heartbroken. And they start hating mom, ‘How could you say those things about dad?’ Even though it’s true.”

Simmons noted that like any other band, KISS was a business. And that meant the owners of the business were expected to work.

“Money’s got to come from someplace,” he said. ”Life is business. People don’t like that. This rock and roll world is filled with losers. It’s tough for me to be honest and stuff. Peter’s always considered himself a victim. ‘They ganged up on me and look what they did to me,’ and stuff like that. Instead, if you’re really cured and everything, you look in the mirror and say, ‘It’s my fault. I used, I didn’t do my work, and I was complaining instead of being grateful to being in one of the largest bands that has ever existed.'”

Simmons claimed that Criss makes “very little” money from KISS today.

“We bought him out,” he said, noting that he and Stanley also bought out Frehley and went on to pay musicians a salary to play in the band.

“It’s so hard for the fans,” Simmons added of Frehley’s departure from the band decades before his death in 2025. “It’s heartbreaking, but not everybody’s designed in their DNA to run a marathon. Some people just, you know, short race and they can do well for that, but they can’t do it. Ace told me to my face when he was leaving the band, ‘If I go out on tour again, I’m going to kill myself. “

Simmons previously expressed sadness about how Frehley and Criss’s time in KISS ended.

“I’m still sad about Ace and Peter, who even today can’t enjoy the fruits of their labor,” he said on the Tetragrammaton podcast in early 2025. “They were equally as important as Paul and myself in the formation of the band and those first few years — there’s no question about it. It was a four-wheel-drive vehicle.”

Stanley also spoke about the exits of Frehley and Criss, noting that their removal from the band had become a necessity.

“They were instrumental in what we created as a team, but they became impossible and intolerable, on more than one occasion necessitating their removal,” he said in 2012, per Ultimate Classic Rock. “At some point, you just lose tolerance. It’s ultimately disrespectful to the fans to not give them what they deserve.”

Kim Thayil was the lead guitarist and co-founder of the iconic rock band Soundgarden. In 2025, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and he was named one of the 250 greatest guitarists of all time by Rolling Stone magazine. Today, he turns 66.

When asked how entering the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as well as the Asian Hall of Fame, felt, Thayil told TAAF, “It probably indicates you’ve been doing it for a while and you’re doing it well, I suppose, if you wanted to pat yourself on the back. But it also indicates that you’re old—that you’ve been doing it for a long time. I think eventually if you’re doing the same thing for a long period of time, someone’s going to recognize, ‘Hey, that guy, he keeps doing that, so why don’t we encourage him to stop by giving him an award?’”

Thayil recently released a memoir called A Screaming Life: Into the Superunknown with Soundgarden and Beyond. It came out this June and covers the band’s “humble beginnings manifesting grunge in Seattle’s beer-soaked punk clubs to their revered status today as rock icons.”

Soundgarden released several hit songs, including “Black Hole Sun,” “Spoonman,” and “Outshined.” They won two Grammy Awards for Best Hard Rock Performance and Best Metal Performance.

Unfortunately, the band eventually broke up. Chris Cornell, who co-founded the group, told Loudwire, “We broke up because we were bored of the periphery, all of the things that are outside of the band playing music and writing songs, playing shows – that part got really boring.”

Cornell died in 2017. However, Thayil is planning on releasing a new Soundgarden album using Cornell’s vocals. “To be clear, this isn’t some weird AI thing,” he explained. “This is something we were working on when he passed. We were writing songs and sharing them, and sharing demos. So we had vocal tracks. We also had some drum tracks, some guitar tracks of his, some rough guitar tracks of mine, rough bass tracks of Ben [Shepherd]. So we just had to complete it. That’s basically what we’re doing. But the completion process is impeded by the fact that Chris isn’t there, so there’s songs that can’t be finished because there weren’t vocals for them. What we have to work with are the finished vocals, and then we can improve on the guitars and the bass.”

It’s no secret that GLP-1 use, specifically for weight loss, has risen massively over the past few years. The most recent data from November 2025 found that around 12% of adults in the U.S. are taking this injectable medication either for weight loss or a chronic condition, and this number has likely only increased since that report was released.

Exactly how worried we should be about the muscle loss from GLP-1s is widely debated—for example, if you have obesity, the health benefits of losing that weight may outweigh the cost of losing some muscle—but it can be especially concerning for people over 50 who want to preserve muscle and bone mass.

Calocurb is a GLP-1 activator manufactured in New Zealand and made from Amarasate, an extract derived from New Zealand bitter hops. It’s taken in capsule form (so no injections), and stimulates bitter taste receptors in the gut wall, which trigger the natural release of hormones that promote fullness, like GLP-1.

And the results of a recent clinical trial, published in Obesity Pillars in July 2026, found that participants taking Calocurb lost significantly more weight and body fat—including the more dangerous visceral fat—than those on a placebo, with no meaningful loss of muscle mass.

For the study, 150 adults with overweight or obesity were split into two groups: One took Calocurb, one took the placebo. Both groups were given basic healthy lifestyle guidance, and then researchers tracked their weight and body composition over the course of six months.

By the end of the study, the people on Calocurb had lost significantly more weight than those in the placebo group (8.4 pounds versus .9 pounds), and the weight loss came almost entirely from fat. That’s a big deal!

According to Dr. Edward Walker, Ph.D., the lead researcher of the study, muscle mass is critical for metabolic health. “So to have a clinically proven, natural option for people that shows fat reduction while keeping muscle mass is a win for overall body composition,” he tells Parade.

What makes the finding especially compelling is how it connects to Calocurb’s three earlier clinical studies, a 2019 trial on hunger during fasting, a 2022 trial on gut hormone activation and energy intake, and a 2024 trial on food cravings in women, which showed that the supplement activates the body’s own GLP-1, CCK and PYY—hormones tied to weight loss, fat oxidation and muscle preservation.

This fourth study shows that all three are working together: GLP-1 driving the weight loss, CCK targeting fat and PYY helping protect muscle. It also shows that the appetite-related effects seen in earlier research—a 30% drop in hunger, a 40% drop in cravings, and an 18% drop in calorie intake—translate into sustained changes in body composition over 24 weeks, not just short-term appetite suppression.

But wait, how does Calocurb work, exactly? “Rather than adding one synthetic hormone (GLP-1), or two (GLP-1 and GIP) ,which is what happens with injectable GLP-1 therapies, Amarasate, the hop extract in Calocurb, activates bitter taste receptors (TAS2Rs) throughout the gastrointestinal tract,” Dr. Walker explains. “This stimulates the body to release three of its own satiety hormones, GLP-1, CCK and PYY at significant levels.”

These hormones are normally released when you have a meal and are your ‘feel full’ hormones that suggest you stop eating, Dr. Walker explains. Calocurb is meant to be taken at least one hour before a meal, activating these hormones before you even start eating you’re already feeling fuller.

“This differs fundamentally from administering a synthetic GLP-1 receptor agonist,” he says. “While they are very effective for weight loss, and helpful for many, synthetic GLP-1s do not mimic the physiological pattern of these hormones in the body. The aim of Calocurb is not to override physiology but to amplify an existing mechanism.”

Amber Eggers, who starred in Season 2 of Love After Lockup, has died at the age of 41.

The reality television star’s mother told TMZ that Eggers died on the night of Thursday, Sept. 3, at a hospital in Atlanta. This comes after she was admitted “several days earlier because she wasn’t feeling well,” adding that “doctors couldn’t keep Amber’s heart beating any longer, and her daughter ultimately died from acute liver failure.”

The Mayo Clinic says accute liver failure is the “loss of liver function that happens quickly — in days or weeks — usually in a person who has no preexisting liver disease.” They further said it is often caused by hepatitis virus or drugs, such as acetaminophen.

During her time on the show, which aired in 2019, Eggers was dating Vincent Gonzalez while in prison, and they later got engaged. However, the two ultimately broke up after she was released. Along with her time on Love After Lockup, Eggers and her cellmate Michelle “Puppy” Deaton also appeared on the spin-off series Life After Lockup.

Eggers was in prison for four years for drug trafficking. She has also dealt with health issues in recent years, suffering a “mini-stroke” in July. In the spring of 2025, she had pneumonia that turned into sepsis and organ failure, which landed her on life support, but she was able to recover.

Fans paid tribute following the sad news.

“41 is far too young. Life can be so unpredictable. May Amber Eggers rest in peace, and may her loved ones find strength during this difficult time,” one person wrote.

“Devastating, she was so sweet. I really liked her. She had more common sense than most of the folks on that show,” another person commented.

“So so sad. I enjoyed watching her. Gone way too soon. RIP AMBER!,” someone posted.

A certain 2000s rock LP, whose tracks have been featured in all sorts of movies and TV shows, just reached the legal drinking age.

If you ever catch wind of the expression “move along” and you hail from certain generations, chances are the All-American Rejects’ hit song will pop into your head.

It was also the name of their sophomore album, which went platinum back in day following its 2005 — and was just released as a deluxe version for fans to revisit. There are even a few “sought-after” bonus tracks to explore, according to a news release on Friday, September 4.

The nostalgic rock band took to social media of late to promote the milestone reissue of their fan-favorite LP, which officially hit the shelves Friday.

“Move Along is 21,” reads the caption of the All-American Rejects’ Instagram post from Wednesday, September 2. The jam-packed carousel features clips from all the hit movies that utilized tracks from the outfit’s album, including She’s the Man (2006) and John Tucker Must Die (2006). See below.

Fans have since flooded the post’s comments section to bask in the nostalgia and show their love for the Rejects. “I saw y’all in Houston at Reliant Arena 2006 and I still have my CD and my first concert T-shirt,” wrote one Instagram user, while another person commented, “IT SHAPED WHO I AM TO THIS DAY. …. we’re f–kin old lol.”

Following the breakout success of 2002’s self-titled The All-American Rejects, the musicians decamped to Los Angeles where they recorded Move Along with producer Howard Benson (who also worked with Kelly Clarkson and My Chemical Romance) in early 2005. The album went on to debut at #6 on the Billboard 200, marking the quartet’s first Top 10 entry and today garnering approximately 1.6 billion streams across all platforms.

Plus, it spawned the smash “Dirty Little Secret,” which picked up a 6x-Platinum certification, cracked the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100, and gathered 715 million Spotify streams and counting.
