There are three things guaranteed in the world today: Death, taxes, and Jeopardy! being on. Believe it or not, the iconic game show has been on the air for over 60 years (though the modern incarnation we know and love technically debuted in 1984). Under the watchful eye of Ken Jennings (who himself was a record-breaking champion), Jeopardy! puts three people's trivia skills and reflexes to the ultimate test. And so many of the greats to grace those podiums started by simply watching the show as it aired on weekdays, as millions have done for over half a century.

Here's a spoiler-filled recap of who won Jeopardy! today, plus the answer to Final Jeopardy.

The clue: "Ann Eliza Webb, an ex-spouse of this man, penned an exposé about the experience titled "Wife No.19'"

The answer: "Who is Brigham Young?"

Once again, Groen proved to be undefeated, walking into FJ at the end of the DJ round with a runaway lead of $23,000, far exceeding the totals of fellow contestants Kurji and Bruce, who had $8,400 and $9,400, respectively. 

While Groen did not answer FJ correctly (“Who is…Nabokov?), it didn’t matter, as he took a $3,000 hit from his wager for a final total of $20,000. Bruce nearly gave Groen a run for his money, however, answering correctly, and adding her wager of $9,400 for a total of $18,800, cutting it pretty close. Kurji also answered incorrectly with “Who is Hugh Hefner,” and after wagering nearly all his winnings, he walked away in third place with a symbolic $1.

Groen will be back on Wednesday for attempt number 10.

Nancy McKeon, who skyrocketed to fame back in the ’80s as tough-talking Jo Polniaczek on The Facts of Life, is honoring her onscreen husband, Scott Bryce, after his death.

McKeon, 60, rose to international stardom as Jo, a student who transferred to the all-girls Eastland School on the legendary sitcom alongside Kim Fields, Mindy Cohn, and Lisa Whelchel. She became a frequent face in TV movies, and when the aughts hit, she starred for several years on the police series The Division. In 2018, she took a spin on the dance floor on Dancing With the Stars. But one of the climaxes of her character's role on the series was her marriage to Rick Bronner, played by Bryce, who died earlier this week at 68 after a long cancer battle.

Today, McKeon made a rare appearance on social media to honor Bryce's memory.

McKeon is aging with grace these days. The brunette beauty hit the opening night afterparty for the play “Pen Pals” at the West Bank Cafe at the tail end of 2024 in New York, and didn’t look all that different from her days at the Eastland School!

While beloved star Charlotte Rae passed away in 2018, all McKeon’s fellow Eastland students are thriving. Lisa Whelchel, who played snooty Blair Warner, is thriving as a grandmother, while Kim Fields, who played the iconic Tootie, hasn’t aged a bit and still gathers people together each week for what she calls REFRESHreset, which focuses on breathwork. Mindy Cohn, who played the lovable Natalie, is currently in a professional renaissance, starring on Palm Royale alongside the legendary Carol Burnett. Now that’s a success story if we’ve ever heard one!

"No, I never met Elvis," Mick Jagger admitted in a wide-ranging interview on the Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend podcast.

The Rolling Stones' lead singer had a simple explanation for why his path never crossed with the King of Rock 'n' Roll. The reason came down to a bit of cautionary advice from a Beatle and a classic case of conflicting rock history.

"The Daily Mirror, an English tabloid that still exists, you always did publicity with the Daily Mirror, and the Beatles did it," Jagger began telling Conan O'Brien in the July 13 episode. "There was a journalist, I can't remember his name, very famous at the time. And he took the Beatles in Los Angeles to visit with Elvis. There's pictures of this. They went up to Elvis's house and his pool."

O'Brien chimed in that he remembered hearing about the visit. George Harrison, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and Ringo Starr walked into Presley's house, and he was watching TV and playing bass guitar. However, all four of the Beatles were high on drugs and told different versions of the events. It was Lennon's version that Jagger heard.

"I remember John telling me, 'Yeah, you know, you should never meet your heroes. I would never meet Elvis, Mick, if I were you,'" Jagger recalled. "And so I didn't; I took John's advice, which was really stupid of me, really. I would have loved to have met Elvis!"

Jagger went on to explain that Lennon told him the story of meeting Elvis Presley many times, emphasizing how "disappointed" he was.

"It sort of put me off," he said. "So I wanted my Elvis to myself -- my version of Elvis."

"I didn't want my version of Elvis shattered like John's was," he added. "But maybe my Elvis would have been different."

The Beatles met the King on August 27, 1965, and many of the details O'Brien heard were later corroborated by Priscilla Presley, who was there. She also claimed that the five of them engaged in an hours-long jam session after Presley brought out his bass guitar. Despite what Lennon may have told Jagger later, Priscilla said that Lennon and McCartney even invited Presley back to their Benedict Canyon house. He didn't go, but members of his inner circle did.

"When they returned, they said that John wanted Elvis to know that without him there would be no Beatles," Priscilla said.

Jagger missed out on meeting his idol because he took a friend's disillusioned advice to "never meet your heroes." Instead, Jagger chose to protect his idealized version of the King of Rock 'n' Roll rather than risk disappointment. While only the people who were in the room will ever know for sure what happened that day, history suggests Lennon's negative account may have been exaggerated.

Jeremiah 29:11 – ’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future,” the 24-year-old islander said in her post.

So, what’s next for Kenzie and her splits? Tomorrow, July 15, she’ll be guest starring on Alex Cooper’s ‘Call Her Daddy’ podcast. “DADDY GANG GUESS WHO WE’RE PULLING FOR A CHAT,” they captioned in an Instagram post. Cooper officially launched her podcast in 2018 and since then the show has catapulted, with her interviewing top celebrities and figures like Michelle Obama, Cardi B, Kim Kardashian, Simone Biles and so many more stars. She’s also talked with past islanders, like Amaya Espinal, Rob Rausch, Huda Mustafa and Leah Kateb.

While there are very few details about Cooper’s upcoming episode with Annis, we can expect to hear all about the islander’s experience on the show. During her time on the island, she befriended islanders like Jen and Aniya, but she was coupled up with her pick of men, including Zach, Corbin, Caleb and Dylan. Kenzie gave fans and viewers some insight into her current relationship with Dylan on Love Island USA’s Aftersun. “I do want to put a label on it of some kind, that we are exclusive, and let people know that,” she said. The Amity Affliction has some exciting news for their American fans.

The Australian metal band revealed on Instagram on Tuesday morning that they will be going on tour around the United States this November to support their latest project, House of Cards, which was released on April 24.

Starting on Halloween night in Cincinnati, The Amity Affliction will be visiting multiple states around the U.S., including New York, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, New Mexico, California, Arizona, Nevada and more, before wrapping up the string of shows in Portland on Nov. 28. Special guests include BlessTheFall, Orthodox and Buried in Spring.

The U.S. leg of their tour will start a little more than two weeks before the Europe/UK leg concludes, which ends at the O2 Academy in Bristol on Oct. 13. The European shows were announced in February, two months before House of Cards was released, and are expected to kick off this September. In February, they went on a regional tour around Australia.

"We're a regional band," frontman Joey Birch told Rolling Stone Australia earlier this year. "We started in Gympie. Those kids don't go to every show. When you go there, it means more."

The Amity Affliction, which currently consists of Birch, Dan Brown and Jonathan Reeves, formed in 2003 in Gympie, a small town in Southeast Australia, by Ahren Stringer and Troy Brady during their final year of high school. The band was named and inspired by a close friend, who passed away in a car accident at 17 years old. By 2007, both Stringer and Brady left the band to pursue other projects, and have had a rotating lineup since. Birch has been a member since 2004, while Brown joined in 2012 as a touring musician and Reeves joined last year.

Since their formation 23 years ago, The Amity Affliction has released nine studio albums, with House of Cards being their most recent project. They are known for their highly personal songs, often dealing with the themes of depression, anxiety, substance abuse and death.

House of Cards has served as a new era for Birch and the band. Birch dealt with the death of his mother and used this new project to process his emotions. He says that House of Cards has songs with some of the most confronting lyrics he has ever written.

"It was honest in that I believed in what I was making, but it wasn't honest in the sense of being true to how I was actually feeling," Birch told Rolling Stone Australia. "I think my big argument was that House of Cards started so nice. The first line of 'Heaven Sent' is a very nasty, sad line. I was like, 'I don't know if that's the foot to put forward.'"

Mitch McConnell’s recent ‘proof of life’ photo doesn’t seem to be doing its job. The Senator was hospitalized a month ago on June 14 after suffering a fall that left him briefly unconscious. And then…nothing. Radio silence. As the days went by, the conspiracies grew. 

That is, until McConnell shared a photo of himself and his wife, Elaine Chao, from his hospital bed. Claiming that he was on the mend after a brief battle with a “mild case of pneumonia” and that “folks of my generation often hesitate to share the vulnerability that comes with growing older,” it seemed like the mystery was solved. Or was it?

Prominent politicians and celebrities have since posited their own conspiracy theories that McConnell’s photo is an AI hoax meant to trick the public into believing that he’s awake, alert, and alive. 

Earlier this week, republican Senator Ron Johnson stoked the fire by saying, “I’ve just heard from some other sources that was an older photo. So I really don’t know. I haven’t talked to Mitch. I certainly wish he and his family well. I hope he can recover,” while appearing on the conservative media channel Real America’s Voice. 

The questions didn’t stop there. A slew of social media speculation sparked a seemingly endless series of faux photos of McConnell. Political commentator Glenn Beck shared a carousel of mock pics on Instagram featuring the same hospital bed setup, but with very different subjects (Abraham Lincoln and Mary Todd Lincoln, Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, Tupac, and Elvis). Beck captioned his post, “It’s amazing how many people I’ve had 20 minute conversations with in the past few days! Thankfully, they all had today’s newspaper to prove it.” 

Jimmy Kimmelposted a now-viral photo of his own head superimposed on McConnell’s body, writing, “For those who’ve been asking, I’m feeling great.” 

The Daily Show’sJon Stewartalso had plenty to say on the matter: “McConnell was the one who suddenly disappeared for a month and nobody heard from him, to the point where the governor of his own state was asking for proof of life. Which coincidentally, we got yesterday.”

Stewart continues with a sarcastically biting, “Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the totally believable evidence that Mitch McConnell is not only alive, but the happiest boy in the hospital.” He then showed his own fake photos of McConnell and his wife, saying, “Here they are at Splash Mountain, and then apparently they climbed the spire of the Empire State Building and renewed their vows. And then, let’s say went to a World Cup game.” 

Of course, the memes and doctored photos kept coming. A steady stream of posts on Instagram and X features celebrities from JFK to Bernie Sanders sitting in McConnell’s hospital room, holding newspapers, and making catchy quips. And then there were the Reddit posts.

On a recent Reddit thread, commenters wrote, “You’re trying to put forward a ‘proof of life’ photo, yeah, either way, it’s a bad idea. Now we’ve more questions as this Weekend at Mitch’s sense over the entire situation is just weird in every sense”, “I think it’s a real, older photo of him with his wife that they AI-ed the newspaper into,” and, “The only entity that is apparently not skeptical of this news is the mainstream media in the U.S.”

Walls of Jericho's 10-year album drought is nearly over.

The beloved Detroit metalcore band has announcedSystem Error: Humanity, its first new studio album since 2016's No One Can Save You From Yourself. The record is scheduled to arrive Nov. 13 through Napalm Records, marking the group's long-awaited return to full-length releases.

The announcement arrived alongside the album's first single, "The Ascent," and an accompanying music video directed by Mateo Torres. Released on July 14, the song offers an early look at the aggressive, breakdown-heavy sound the band will bring to the new record.

Frontwoman Candace Buckingham described System Error: Humanity as the group's "raw, unapologetic, and most aggressive record to date." She explained that the band wanted to capture the intensity of its live shows rather than create something overly polished in the studio.

The lyrics explore conformity, distraction and the pressure to constantly perform for other people. Buckingham said the album is ultimately about taking control of where people place their attention and refusing to let outside noise determine how they live.

"At its core, this album is about reclaiming your attention," she said in a statement. "Kill the noise. Reclaim yourself."

Buckingham said "The Ascent" focuses on confronting uncomfortable truths and accepting the discipline required for personal growth. Its tense guitars, forceful vocals and heavy final breakdown set the tone for what listeners can expect from the rest of the album.

System Error: Humanity was produced and engineered by Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou alongside Zach Weeks, with mastering handled by Nick Townsend. Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe and The Red Chord vocalist Guy Kozowyk will also make guest appearances on the record.

Walls of Jericho formed in Detroit in the late 1990s and became known for combining metallic riffs with the urgency of hardcore punk. Albums including The Bound Feed the Gagged and With Devils Amongst Us All helped establish the band as an influential force in the heavy music scene.

Although the group has not released a full-length album in a decade, it has remained active through live performances and festival appearances. Its upcoming album now begins a new chapter while keeping the confrontational sound and message that have defined Walls of Jericho for years.

As the summer heat intensifies, it becomes harder and harder to keep your beverages ice cold. Natural Light has an exciting solution to the sweltering sun.

The beer company has created what they’re calling a CoolShed, a shed-sized cooler that uses solar panels to keep beverages cold.

Starting today until Friday, July 31st, anyone 21+ in the US can enter for a chance to win their very own CoolShed, which comes with what the company calls a “lifetime’s worth of beer money.” In the fine print, this consists of a $15,531.60 prepaid card, which is eligible to purchase two 24-packs of Natural Light a month for thirty-five years, the equivalent of 840 cases.

To enter, fans must provide their first and last name, date of birth, zip code, and email. The first 500 who submit their information will receive what Natural Light calls “beer money,” which is a $15 prepaid card.

The announcement included a YouTube video that shows a man mowing a lawn with the narrator stating, “Since the dawn of time, the sun's scorching rays have plagued thirsty do-it-yourselfers, making every job harder and every beer hotter during the long, sweltering days of summer.”

It shows the interior and exterior of the walk-in CoolShed. The company claims it features 250 cu. ft. of cooling space, an insulating aluminum composite interior, heavy-duty shelving, and monocrystalline solar panels.

“The CoolShed is a first in home refrigeration technology harnessing natural light from the sun and transforming it into a lifetime's worth of ice cold natural light beer,” the narrator said in the video.

Only one winner will be chosen for the CoolShed and “lifetime’s worth of beer.”

A top album of the 1990s is charting again almost 30 years after its initial release.

This week, John Mellencamp's The Best That I Could Do 1978–1988 returned to the charts as the beloved heartland rock singer kicks off his long-anticipated greatest hits tour.

The compilation album was originally released on Nov. 18, 1997 and features a selection of the musician's top tracks, spanning over a decade of his career. Songs like "I Need a Lover," "Ain't Even Done with the Night," and "Lonely Ol' Night" make up the 14-song album, in addition to a previously unreleased song titled "Without Expression" to close out the record.

First charting on Dec. 6, 1997, around three weeks after its release date, The Best That I Could Do 1978–1988 has reentered the Billboard 200 29 years later, placing at No. 120.

Marking the end of his contract with Mercury Records ahead of his move to Columbia Records, the album was a poignant tribute to the career-defining decade.

At the start of his career, Mellencamp went by the stage name Johnny Cougar, as dictated by his then-manager at MCA Records. The singer's manager believed that his birth name wasn't a name that was fit for a rock star. After MCA dropped him because of poor sales, Mellencamp began adopting the name John Cougar Mellencamp, before dropping the Cougar moniker and going by his real name starting in 1991.

On July 10, 2026, the Grammy-winning singer kicked off the " Dancing Words — The Greatest Hits Tour" at the Acrisure Amphitheater in Grand Rapids, MI. The epic 26-track setlist featured his latest and greatest hits, including 2014's "Lawless Times," 1986's "R.O.C.K. in the U.S.A. (A Salute to 60's Rock)," and 1982's "Jack & Diane," a song that Mellencamp famously said he isn't a fan of.

The tour runs through Aug. 12 and stops in major cities across the U.S.

FOX will begin its 2026-27 entertainment season with a lineup of returning drama, game shows, reality shows, animated series and lots of sports on Monday, Sept. 21.

The fall season kicks off with the fan-favorite musical guessing game Celebrity Name That Tune, hosted by Jane Krakowski with new bandleader Robin Thicke returning for another season on Monday, Sept. 21, followed by the Season 2 premiere of game show Celebrity Weakest Link, (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) hosted by Emmy Award winner Jane Lynch.  

On Tuesday, Season 2 of the charming and heartfelt series Best Medicine, starring Josh Charles, premieres, followed by the third season of the gripping medical drama Doc, led by Molly Parker with Blair Underwood joining the cast as a new series regular.

Television’s No. 1 primetime game show The Floor, hosted by Rob Lowe, begins its sixth season on Wednesday, Sept. 23, followed by the Season Two premiere of million dollar competition series 99 to Beat, hosted by Ken Jeong and Erin Andrews.

On Thursday, Sept. 24, Hell’s Kitchen makes its historic Season 25 premiere with host Gordon Ramsay, followed by the Season 5 premiere of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, featuring 15 new celebrity recruits testing their mental and physical resolve in the Malaysian jungle.  

The iconic “FOX Animation Domination” Sundaycomedies get a dose of live-action laughs when Animal Control joins the weekend line-up. Beginning Sunday, Sept. 27, all-new seasons of The Simpsons, Animal Control, Universal Basic Guys and Grimsburg  premiere.

With The Odyssey hitting theaters this weekend, the question is no longer "are you seeing it" but rather "how" are you seeing Christopher Nolan's buzzy new movie?

Filmed with IMAX cameras, the big-screen adaptation of Homer's renowned epic features a wide variety of big names, including Nolan regulars Matt Damon and Anne Hathaway.

Other American actors grace the highly anticipated release, plus a number of British celebrities. And how certain performers present — and voice — their ancient character has been the source of some backlash ever since the trailers started dropping, as fans are probably aware.

Esteban Touma, a linguistic and cultural expert at the language-learning platform Babbel, recently shared about why audiences are reacting so strongly to hearing American accents in a story set in ancient Greece, and what that reaction actually reveals — not about historical accuracy, but about a Hollywood convention nearly a century in the making.

"Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey has already drawn a negative reaction, with viewers questioning why the actors are playing ancient Greeks with American accents rather than the British accent Hollywood typically gives historical figures," said Touma in a statement shared with Parade. "Some have framed this as a lapse in historical accuracy, but that doesn't really hold up: a British accent wouldn't be historically accurate either, no one thinks the ancient Greeks sounded like they went to Oxford. What's actually being broken here isn't accuracy, its convention."

Touma continued, "No recording of ancient Greek speech exists, and no living audience has a reference point to be 'betrayed’. There's also a strange irony in this casting: Tom Holland and Robert Pattinson are both British in real life, yet here they're using American accents to play ancient Greeks, deliberately avoiding the British accent audiences have been trained to expect from 'the past.'"

Henry Winkler has been involved in many, many, many different films and TV shows over the years, many of which might very well boast the actor's best performance to date.

But when looking at the larger expanse of his career, there remains only one project that Winkler himself rises above the rest: his celebrated stint on HBO's dark comedy crime series, Barry.

Speaking with Den of Geek back in 2022, Winkler hyped up the then-imminent return of Barry for the show's third season. At the time of the interview, Winkler specifically said the series remained the best thing he'd ever been a part of, even when compared to his career-making performance on Happy Days.

“I’ve been in some pretty great things. None of them touch this,” Winkler candidly said. “The Fonz introduced me to the world. He was so much fun to play. The people are still my family. But man oh man.Barry is in a category by itself.”

A critically acclaimed tragicomedy series from creator Alec Berg and Bill Hader, Barry follows Hader's title character, a depressed hit man who finds unexpected acceptance in an acting class led by Winkler's eccentric acting coach.

Among the most critically acclaimed HBO series in recent memory, the series earned a total of 44 Primetime Emmy Award nominations throughout its run, as well as 10 Golden Globe nominations and 12 Critics' Choice Award nominations.

Despite his appreciation for Happy Days, Winkler expressed his sincerest thanks to both Berg and Hader for including in their creative vision for the show, emphasizing just how much he enjoyed being a part of Barry throughout the show's run.

"They are an amazing team. They really are. They write a different kind of comedy. I am amazed when I see where the journey goes from script to script," Winkler said at the time. "I just hope that I’m able to get close to their vision.”

His nickname captured the intensity he brought to the stage.

Mark "The Animal" Mendoza, the longtime bassist whose powerful playing helped shape Twisted Sister's unmistakable heavy metal sound, turns 70 on July 13.

Born Mark Glickman in 1956, Mendoza found an early passion for music. Picking up a guitar at only 9 years old and discovering the bass at 12, he found his life's calling early on. By the 1970s, Mendoza began establishing himself in the New York rock scene. Before joining Twisted Sister, he played bass with The Dictators, one of the groups that helped connect hard rock with the emerging punk movement.

Mendoza joined Twisted Sister in 1978, shortly after leaving The Dictators. The addition of his hard-hitting bass style gave the band a heavier sound as it built a devoted following through years of demanding club performances.

That sound carried into Twisted Sister's breakthrough years. Mendoza played on the band's major releases, including Under the Blade, You Can't Stop Rock 'n' Roll and the multi-platinum Stay Hungry. The latter produced two of the group's most enduring anthems, "We're Not Gonna Take It" and "I Wanna Rock," which helped make Twisted Sister one of the most recognizable metal bands of the 1980s.

His contributions extended far beyond the bass. Mendoza developed a substantial production and mixing career, working on several Twisted Sister projects after becoming closely involved with the band's recordings. He produced and mixed Still Hungry, the group's 2004 re-recording of Stay Hungry, and later worked on the holiday album A Twisted Christmas.

The "Animal" nickname reflected both Mendoza's forceful stage presence and his direct, no-nonsense personality. Even away from Twisted Sister, he continued working with musicians as a performer, songwriter, producer and broadcaster.

Twisted Sister completed its farewell tour in 2016, but Mendoza reunited with the surviving members in January 2023 when the band was inducted into the Metal Hall of Fame. The group performed "You Can't Stop Rock 'n' Roll," "Under the Blade" and "We're Not Gonna Take It," marking its first live appearance in more than six years.

These days, Mendoza remains connected to music through production, independent projects and radio. He co-hosts A Rock & A Hard Place with Rob Rush and Billy Mira, bringing interviews and hard-rock conversation to listeners on Long Island's 94.3 The Shark.

"I love it as much as I did when I was 12 years old," Mendoza said in 2025 in reference to his continued work in the music industry.

At 70, Mendoza's enthusiasm remains closely tied to the attitude that earned him his nickname decades ago. His bass playing helped strengthen Twisted Sister's sound, but his work as a producer, broadcaster and supporter of other musicians has kept "The Animal" active far beyond the band's biggest hits.

Here are a few productive Pilates moves to weave into your day, according to instructors.

Instructors agree that the Pilates hundred is a stellar time-saving move, as it blends breathwork, circulation, deep core activation and muscular endurance at the same time.

“It strengthens the abdominals and hip flexors while also stimulating the cardio-respiratory system through a rhythmic breathing pattern,” explains Billingsley. “It’s an incredibly efficient exercise for energizing both the body and mind.”

Even though the movement may look controlled, it can raise your heart rate quite fast, so you’re reaping the benefits of stamina, endurance and strength.

“It’s also fantastic for posture because it encourages the chest to open while strengthening the muscles that support the spine,” notes Ajia Lee Forster, Pilates instructor and program director at Move Union.

Here’s how to do it:

1. Begin by lying flat on your back on a workout mat.
2. Draw your knees in toward your chest.
3. Curl your head, shoulders and chest up.
4. Lift your legs up to a tabletop position. For an added challenge, extend your legs to a 45-degree angle.
5. Reach your arms out long beside your hips.
6. Start to vigorously pump your arms.
7. Inhale for 5 pumps, then exhale for 5 pumps.
8. Perform 1 round of 100 pumps.

The Pilates plank may look simple, but it’s incredibly effective at firing up the core—and you’ll feel the burn. Planks are one of the best total-body exercises you can do when short on time.

“It strengthens the core, shoulders, arms, glutes and legs all at once while also improving balance and coordination,” Lee Forster tells us. “Because it’s weight-bearing, it’s great for joint and bone health. too. I love it because it teaches the entire body to work together instead of focusing on just one area and helps people practice getting up and down from the floor independently!”

Billingsley also suggests testing out the reverse plank, because it strengthens your posterior chain while stretching out the front of your body.

“It builds strength through the shoulders, arms, wrists, lats, glutes, hamstrings, quadriceps and spinal extensors while stretching the chest and hip flexors, which are often tight from prolonged sitting and device use,” Billingsley says.

Here’s how to do a Pilates plank:

1. Begin by placing your hands under your shoulders on the mat.
2. Press into the pads of your fingers and hug your inner arms in toward your armpits.
3. Walk your feet out to hip-distance apart.
4. Gently lift through your pelvic floor and draw your waist in.
5. Be mindful of lengthening from head to heels as you hold the position with proper form.

Whether typing on our laptops or scrolling social media, many of us spend most of our days sitting in a hunched-over position. That’s where the shoulder bridge comes in clutch. In fact, it’s Lee Forster’s go-to “reset” exercise.

“It opens the front of the hips and chest while strengthening the glutes, hamstrings and back body, which are often weak from sitting too much,” she shares. “It also gently mobilizes the spine, so people usually feel taller, looser and more energized afterward. It’s simple, incredibly effective and almost everyone benefits from it.”

Here’s how to do it:

1. Begin by lying flat on your back with bent knees and feet hip-distance apart on the floor.
2. Press through your heels as you lift your hips toward the ceiling into a bridge position.
3. Squeeze your hamstrings and glutes at the top as you hold your bridge.
4. Use control to release and lower.

If you’re in a time crunch, you can count on a brief Pilates session to get the job done quickly and efficiently. According to Billingsley, Pilates exercises are specifically designed to integrate the whole body, making them incredibly intentional and effective.

“Many of the Pilates classical mat exercises simultaneously strengthen the entire body while improving breathing and postural patterns,” Billingsley says. “Pilates emphasizes quality over quantity. A focused 10-minute practice performed with concentration and proper alignment can be far more beneficial than rushing through a much longer workout without awareness.”

Whether you’re newer to the practice or well-seasoned, try these moves. Together, they deliver a well-rounded session that promotes solid strength, mobility, balance and nervous system regulation. So roll out your mat and get to it!

Fifty-one years ago, iconic rock group Fleetwood Mac released "Rhiannon"—a song that, despite being penned in only 10 minutes, has persevered as an ultimate rock classic.

Released on July 11, 1975, as part of the band's self-titled album—often called The White Album—"Rhiannon" became a fan favorite. It was then released as the second single from the album in February 1976 and four months later, it peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100, spending a staggering 18 weeks on the chart and marking an early breakthrough for the band.

Today, "Rhiannon" is one of the most popular songs on The White Album, following closely behind "Landslide." Their self-titled masterpiece is widely considered a masterclass of rock and the catalyst of their careers. The album has been certified 9x Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), selling over 9 million copies in the U.S. alone.

Written by lead vocalist Stevie Nicks, "Rhiannon" was inspired by the 1973 supernatural novel Triad by Mary Bartlet Leader. After reading the name, Nicks became infatuated, wanting to write a song around its mystical allure. In total, it took the songwriter only 10 minutes to pen the track.

"I read the name [Rhiannon] of it in a novel and really liked it and thought, 'that's really a beautiful name,'" Nicks reflected in an interview. "Sat down, tap, tap, tap...about 10 minutes later wrote 'Rhiannon.'"

To Nicks, the song was about the empowerment of a magical woman. She and the band wanted it to feel like a bird flying away.

"So it's just about a very mystical woman that is finds it very, very hard to be tied down in any kind of way—and she's uplifting all through the song," Nicks told disc jockey Jim Ladd during a 1976 interview. "That's what I wanted to get and that's what the band got really well was that uplifting of wings kind of a feel, you know. When you feel like you see a seagull and she's lifting up. Well, that's Rhiannon. Rhiannon—yeah—she's moving up."

Following the song's release, there was a major boom of baby girls being named Rhiannon. Prior to the single hitting the airwaves, the name was practically nonexistent in the U.S., deeply tied to ancient Welsh mythology and rarely heard outside of the U.K. However, the track's undeniable radio presence boosted it all the way to the No. 418 spot on the 1977 list of popular girls' names. Since then, the name has continued to remain popular in the U.S., serving as a permanent cultural footprint that can be traced back to Nicks' spellbinding songwriting.

Over five decades after its release, "Rhiannon" has persevered as one of Fleetwood Mac's most impactful tracks. In the digital era, the song continues to thrive, raking in over 659 million streams on Spotify alone. It also continues to see mainstream recognition on social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram, where new generations frequently use the audio to soundtrack their own videos.
