Call her mommy! Alex Cooper has a new title to add to her growing list of accomplishments — first time mom.

The 32-year-old Call Her Daddy host shared the exciting news on Instagram on Tuesday, October 20, giving fans a first glimpse of her newborn son in a photo that showed the little one dressed in a cozy, fuzzy sweater, and matching pants with his tiny hands clasped together.

Cooper kept the announcement simple, captioning the picture with a blue heart emoji that revealed the baby’s gender, though she has not yet shared his name publicly.

The arrival comes about five months after Cooper announced that she and Kaplan were expecting their first child together, sharing a pair of photos in May that showed her cradling her growing baby bump while spending time with her husband.

“Our family 🤍,” she wrote in the caption at the time, offering a sweet glimpse into a new chapter for the couple, who have generally kept their relationship out of the spotlight.

Cooper has also been candid with her followers about some of the challenges she experienced during pregnancy, including revealing in July that she had been diagnosed with gestational diabetes. The podcast host discussed her emotional reaction to the diagnosis on social media, giving fans an honest look at a side of pregnancy that can be difficult to navigate.

“I was told anyone can get this no matter what your prior weight, diet, fitness level — literally anyone is susceptible to getting it,” she said at the time.

Just days before announcing her son’s birth, Cooper posed nude in a series of black and white photos shared to Instagram.

“The most transformative 9 months of my life,” she captioned the photos.

Why This Specific Eye Checkup Is Essential as You Age

When it comes to safeguarding your sight, a standard vision screening just isn’t enough. Ophthalmologists emphasize that everyone should get a dilated eye exam by age 40, and “most definitely” by age 50. During this comprehensive appointment, an eye care professional uses special drops to enlarge your pupils, allowing them a clear, unobstructed view of the back of your eye.

“As we age, our eyes undergo several changes that can impact vision,” Dr. James R. Kelly, MD, an ophthalmologist at Kelly Vision Center, previously told Parade. Around age 45, Dr. Kelly notes that many people begin experiencing presbyopia, a condition where the eye’s internal lens becomes less flexible, making it harder to focus on close objects.

Dr. Wuqaas M. Munir, MD, an ophthalmologist at the University of Maryland Medical Center, explained in the same story why focusing on up-close objects or text becomes more difficult with age: “Our eye is like a camera, with the lens of the eye providing a significant amount of the focusing power. As we age, this lens starts to stiffen, and slowly loses the ability to refocus when we look at near objects.” He noted that this loss of focusing power is a natural change that usually starts around age 40, which is why so many adults end up needing reading glasses or bifocals.

However, a dilated eye exam looks far beyond simple prescription changes. “The single best way to protect eyesight is to see an eye doctor. By age 40, and most definitely by the age of 50, everyone should have a dilated eye exam by an eye care professional to catch any problems early,” Dr. Munir said.

Dr. Munir cautioned that serious health conditions including cataracts (cloudiness of the eye’s lens), glaucoma and retinal changes from diabetes all start slowly and are difficult for someone to recognize without a thorough eye examination. “By catching these diseases early, vision loss can often be prevented. By the age of 50, an eye care professional may recommend more regular eye exams to monitor for any changes,” he said. The American Academy of Ophthalmology recommends that adults get a baseline exam at age 40 and schedule follow-up exams every two to four years between ages 40 and 54.

Additional Daily Habits to Keep Your Vision Clear and Strong

While getting your dilated eye exam on the calendar is a crucial step, eye care specialists point out that maintaining your vision also relies on the habits you practice every day. In addition to staying on top of routine exams, avoiding tobacco is paramount. Dr. Kelly stressed that smoking significantly increases the risk of age-related macular degeneration, cataracts and optic nerve damage, which can lead to blindness. Quitting smoking improves circulation and reduces oxidative stress in the eyes, helping preserve your sight for life.

Protecting your eyes from environmental factors is equally important. Wearing UV-protected sunglasses when outdoors shields your delicate eye structures from harmful rays that contribute to cataract formation and retinal damage. Eating a nutrient-dense diet also plays a major role; foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids, lutein, zeaxanthin and vitamins C and E—such as leafy greens, citrus fruits and fish—help nourish your eyes and slow down age-related degeneration.

Finally, managing chronic health conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure and elevated cholesterol helps protect the delicate blood vessels in your eyes. And if you spend long hours staring at screens, practice the 20-20-20 rule to prevent digital strain: every 20 minutes, look at an object 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds. There are so many delicious ways to use soft-boiled eggs, from topping ramen, rice bowls, and salads, to dressing up your morning toast. But making the perfect jammy egg can be a tough task to master.

Now, Trader Joe’s is selling ready-to-eat jammy eggs in a bag, and they pack 24 grams of protein, are gathered from exclusively cage-free hens, and come fully cooked and ready to use in your kitchen.

But some Reddit users are feeling a bit of sticker shock about the price tag: A bag with four Chino Valley Ranchers jammy eggs costs $3.99 at Trader Joe’s.

“$1 an egg?” asked one redditor. “No thank you.”

“I was literally staring at these the other day, trying to decide if I should cop,” said another. “Then, I looked at the price and went oh, no thank you.”

“Buy a carton of eggs, boil water, add eggs, cook for seven minutes and 20 seconds,” commented another. “Put into ice bath to stop cooking, store in fridge for up to seven days. Bam, your own much cheaper jammy eggs.”

But others jumped in to say they feel the bag of soft-boiled eggs is well worth it for the convenience. “Bought these and can confirm they are amazing in ramen,” one said.

“I love this and will be buying,” another added. “I can’t stand trying to make jammy eggs myself… I would tear this up daily.” One joked, “I am embarrassed to say I’m excited to see this because a boiled egg hates to see me coming in for a peel.”

Others who’d tried the eggs already took to the comment section to share photos of the opened product. “I had one today and it was a little more done than the other ones I’ve had, but still delicious,” one said.

“I used these in my ramen the other day and I was obsessed,” said another.

While members of the r/TraderJoes subreddit had mixed opinions on the cost of this new TJ’s product, it’s easy to understand both sides of the argument. On one hand, $1 per egg is a steep price for some, but on the other, there’s something to be said for the convenience of keeping an open-and-eat soft-boiled egg on hand for when you need one.

“I am looking forward to trying them,” one redditor reasoned. “I pay that much for egg salad all the time, because boiling and peeling eggs isn’t something I want to do.”

Over the course of their storied career, the Rolling Stones have asked us many questions. “Has Anybody Seen My Baby?” “Have You Seen Your Mother, Baby, Standing in the Shadow?” “Do You Think I Really Care?” Now, the iconic band has another question for fans: “Who You Callin’ Crazy?”

This latest query is the title of the new Stones single from the forthcoming Foreign Tongues, Loose Lips, the deluxe edition of Foreign Tongues, which was released in July 2026. “Who You Callin’ Crazy?” is one of several previously unreleased tracks to be included on the expanded edition, including “Human Tide,” “Where There’s a Will” and “She Still Comes Around.”

If the comments on the YouTube video of “Who You Callin’ Crazy” are any indication, the song could be the band’s next big hit.

“Jagger is singlehandedly reviving the Stones in his 80’s with a voice that sounds like he’s in his 30’s,” raved one fan.

“Slinky chord changes, groove & hooks,” added a second person. “Feeling blessed to have a new Stones song this morning and a damn good one at that.”

“What an incredible year to be a Stones fan!” declared someone else. “Every new song is even more brilliant than the last! The greatest band in history, and they just keep delivering!”

The song is already gaining some critical praise, too, particularly Mick Jagger‘s writing: “I’m sound of body, sound of mind / Help me through these impossible times.”

“We can read into Jagger’s lyrics just a little, before a saxophone break where he says he needs to slow down but that the body is going to save him,” Ewan Gleadow wrote in his review of the song for Cult Following.

“He’s not got it in him to slow down,” Gleadow continued. ‘How can he? Pushing for a tour, still writing and suggesting there’s enough songs in the can for another album by The Rolling Stones. There’s a soft, autobiographical theme running through ‘Who You Callin’ Crazy?,’ this idea that Jagger is crazy for continuing on with the same energy and spirit as he had when he first formed the band. He still sounds as good; his vocal range remains staggering. He’s one of the few musicians out there to maintain that standard, a timeless voice still plugging away with songs like this.”

Foreign Tongues, Loose Lips, is scheduled for release on November 27th through Polydor and Universal Music.

Long before Pablo Picasso’s paintings fetched nine figures at auction, his artwork could be found somewhere a little less expected: on a restaurant menu.

And more than a century later, you can still dine there.

Tucked away on Carrer de Montsió in Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter, Els Quatre Gats—or 4Gats—first opened in 1897 on the ground floor of Casa Martí, an ornate Modernist building designed by architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch.

The restaurant quickly became a gathering place for Barcelona’s artistic crowd, hosting everything from poetry readings and exhibitions to puppet shows and plenty of spirited conversation.

Among the regulars was a teenage Picasso.

The budding artist began frequenting Quatre Gats in 1899 and quickly caught the attention of owner Pere Romeu. By the spring of 1900, Romeu had tapped Picasso for an important job: designing the restaurant’s menu.

Picasso created numerous sketches before settling on his design, depicting a scene inside the restaurant with one of its distinctive pointed arches in the background. He also designed artwork advertising the dish of the day.

Not bad for a guy who hadn’t even entered his 20s yet.

But Picasso’s connection to the restaurant went well beyond drawing up a menu. Quatre Gats also hosted his first solo exhibition in 1900, years before works such as “Les Demoiselles d’Avignon” and “Guernica” would make him one of the most recognizable artists of the 20th century.

The original Quatre Gats had a surprisingly short run, closing in 1903 after just six years. Decades later, the space was revived as a bar and restaurant, preserving much of the Modernist atmosphere that once attracted Picasso and other artists.

Today, diners can once again pull up a chair inside the historic haunt, where the current menu leans into traditional Catalan cooking and local ingredients.

And Picasso isn’t its only brush with celebrity.

More than a century after the artist hung out there, 4Gats made another appearance on the big screen when scenes from Woody Allen’s 2008 movie “Vicky Cristina Barcelona,” starring Scarlett Johansson, Javier Bardem and Rebecca Hall, were filmed inside.

So yes, Barcelona has an entire museum dedicated to Picasso.

But this is one place where you can pair the history with dinner.

The 2027 Super Bowl might be some ways away, but new details are beginning to emerge about ESPN’s unexpected partnership with Lucasfilm for the biggest football game of the year.

According to a new press release shared by the network, the NFL will collaborate with Lucasfilm’s Star Wars series for a real-time, animated, alternate telecast of Super Bowl LXI.

The telecast will specifically be set in the Star Wars galaxy, featuring characters from across George Lucas’s expansive sci-fi universe. Among the many characters and outlandish creatures the telecast will include is none other than Anthony Daniels’ high-strung C-3PO, who will reprise his role from the hit film series.

“Extending the Emmy-winning Funday Football brand to America’s biggest game, Star Wars Funday Football will stream live on Disney+ and the ESPN App, and air on Disney Channel and Disney XD on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2027, giving fans of all ages a new way to experience ESPN’s first-ever Super Bowl production,” said the NFL.

The telecast, appropriately titled Star Wars Funday Football, will be presented alongside the regular telecast with Joe Buck, Troy Aikman, Lisa Salters and Laura Rutledge on ESPN, ABC and Disney+.

As with years past, the animated telecast will recreate every single play made in the Super Bowl LXI in real time, transforming the players on the field into animated characters. Previous versions of the telecast include Toy Story Funday Football (2023), The Simpsons Funday Football (2024) and and Monsters Funday Football (2025).

The broadcast will feature an array of iconic Star Wars characters and various Easter eggs sprinkled throughout the game, appealing to viewers of every age who grew up watching the beloved sci-fi series.

“Star Wars Funday Football will arrive as Lucasfilm celebrates 50 years of Star Wars,” the press release went on to add. “Just five days after Super Bowl LXI, a newly restored version of the original 1977 version of Star Wars returns to theaters on Friday, Feb. 19.”

Jay-Z could be taking the biggest stage in football for himself.

The rapper has reportedly chosen himself to headline the Super Bowl LXI halftime show, which is scheduled for February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, according to Puck.

The Brooklyn native has a major say in who performs during the NFL’s biggest game. His entertainment company, Roc Nation, partnered with the league in 2019 to help oversee the halftime show’s music and entertainment. 

Multiple sources told Puck that Jay-Z was now favored over Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber, both of whom had reportedly been in discussions for the performance. 

Jay-Z has not publicly commented on the report. However, he is scheduled to perform two shows at SoFi Stadium on Friday and Saturday, raising the possibility that he could share an update while in Los Angeles. 

In September, Bieber and Harry Styles were reportedly among Roc Nation’s leading choices for the halftime show, according to TMZ. Bieber most recently headlined Coachella in April. 

If the report proves true, Jay-Z would follow in the footsteps of his wife, Beyoncé, who headlined the Super Bowl XLVII halftime show in New Orleans in 2013. She later returned as a surprise guest during Coldplay’s performance at Super Bowl 50 in Santa Clara, California, in 2016, joining Bruno Mars onstage.

That said, not every halftime show decision under Jay-Z’s watch has been well received. Bad Bunny‘s performance last year drew criticism from some conservatives who objected to the Puerto Rican star singing primarily in Spanish.

Meanwhile, fans are still waiting for Jay-Z to release new music. The 25-time Grammy winner hasn’t put out a studio album since 2017’s 4:44, which went double platinum.

In August, Roc Nation pushed back against speculation that the rapper had finished a new record. The company addressed the rumors on Instagram Stories, writing, “‘Album done’ … Fake news,” according to screenshots shared online. 

The response came after music executive Ray Daniels said on his podcast that Jay-Z had completed his next album. He also claimed that potential brand partnerships could be holding up its release, according to Hypebeast. 

For now, neither a new album nor a Super Bowl halftime performance has been confirmed by Jay-Z or Roc Nation.

Fans of international soaps may recognize Pryor, as the actor has an extensive background in soap opera. Originally portraying Dr. Nate Cooper on the Channel 7 Australia soap opera Home And Away, Pryor soaked up the rays in Summer Bay from 2013 until 2017, when it was time for him to return to the U.K. to pursue acting work there.

Once back home, Pryor was cast on the British soap opera Hollyoaks for Channel 4, where he played deputy headmaster Laurie Shelby between 2018 and 2019.

During his time on Hollyoaks, Pryor was thrust into one of the soap’s hard-hitting topical storylines as Laurie was in an abusive relationship with Sinead O’Connor (Stephanie Davis).

It was on Hollyoaks that Pryor met his real-life romantic partner Anna Passey, who plays the devious Sienna Blake on the soap opera. In addition to acting, Pryor has run a candle business with Passey called Kip Candle Co since 2019.

Pryor would go on to make a brief appearance on the ITV soap opera Emmerdale in 2022, with his latest credit, according to IMDb, being the Lifetime Christmas film, Christmas at Plumhill Manor.

The role was also confirmed by Pryor’s acting agency in the U.K., The Artist Partnership, with the part listed on his resume.

Now viewers anxiously await his arrival in Salem, and watch the storyline unfold as the truth of his parentage takes center stage. Who exactly is Dominic Marino? Viewers will have to stay tuned to find out, but one thing is for sure: soap fans are in for a wild ride either way.

Kyle Kennedy, the granddaughter of Robert F. “Bobby” Kennedy and Ethel Kennedy, has died at 42.

The educator and disability rights advocate died at her home in Westwood, Massachusetts, on September 21, 2026, according to her obituary.

Her obituary described her as having passed away peacefully. However, a specific cause of death has not been publicly disclosed in the report or obituary. 

Kennedy was the daughter of Michael Kennedy, who died in 1997, and Victoria Denise Gifford. She was one of 34 grandchildren of Bobby and Ethel Kennedy.

Kennedy built a career in education, focusing on early childhood learning and educational opportunities for disadvantaged children and people with disabilities.

After earning a history degree from Georgetown University, she pursued further studies at Pace University and Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education. She began her teaching career in New York City through Teach For America.

In 2020, Kennedy sustained a severe spinal cord injury that left her paralyzed. The injury later became a turning point in her advocacy, as she worked to raise awareness about the challenges faced by people living with disabilities.

Her activism included testifying at a Massachusetts State House hearing about discrimination in health care affecting people with disabilities, PEOPLE reported.

Kennedy married Liam Kerr in August 2012. The couple had three children together, including twins Conor and Josephine. Their daughter, Josephine, died days after her birth. They later welcomed another son, Declan.

Kennedy is survived by her sons Conor and Declan, her mother, her brother Michael, her sister Rory, and several nieces and nephews.

Her work in education and disability advocacy formed a significant part of her legacy.

Ina Garten’s brand new cookbook “Simply Ina” has come out today, and ahead of its release the star has opened up about how much she adores it. Speaking to PEOPLE magazine, Ina shared how she feels this particular book of hers is different from any other she has released so far.

One of Ina’s main aims with her cookbook was to help those with busy, stressful lives to still be able to whip up something wonderful to enjoy as a meal. She shared: “Well, I just think we’re all stressed and we’ve got so much going on and it’s the simplest recipes, things you can make ahead, you can make them in one pot, you can make them in one bowl.

“They’re really simple, or there’s an ingredient that makes it easier. So, each recipe has a little thing that makes it easier to make, and so that’s why we called it Simply Ina.”

Fans of the talented chef have been eagerly awaiting the release of the cookbook since Ina announced it back in March over on Instagram. Penned in an excited post, Ina wrote: “My next cookbook is called SIMPLY INA, and I have had so much fun testing the recipes. It’s not easy to make something simple and delicious, and this book is all about cooking simply so you can spend more time with your guests!

“I hope you invite people to dinner, make something really simple and surround yourself with people you love because at the end of the day, it’s really the only thing that matters.”

Prior to “Simply Ina”, Ina’s most recent cookbook release was her book called “Go-To Dinners” back in October of 2022. Though the star did release a memoir in the four-year gap between the recipe books, titled “Be Ready When The Luck Happens”. The memoir delves into Ina’s childhood as well as her love story with her husband, Jeffrey Garten.

In 2026, Mark Wahlberg took on the role of a notorious Mafia hitman who became an FBI informant and helped investigate the Ku Klux Klan in 1960s Mississippi. Now, movie fans can watch the stranger-than-fiction story at home.

By Any Means, starring Wahlberg and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, was released on digital platforms Oct. 20 after opening in theaters Sept. 4. The crime thriller is available to buy or rent through digital retailers including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV and Fandango at Home.

Directed by Elegance Bratton and written by Sascha Penn, By Any Means is inspired by the true story of Gregory Scarpa, a New York mobster and FBI informant who was reportedly enlisted to assist federal investigators in Mississippi during the Civil Rights era.

Wahlberg plays Scarpa, while Abdul-Mateen stars as FBI agent Wayne Strider, a fictional character created for the movie. The two form an unlikely partnership as they investigate the murder of civil rights leader Vernon Dahmer, played by Giancarlo Esposito.

The film also stars Nicole Beharie, Josh Lucas, LisaGay Hamilton, LaChanze, Ethan Embry and David Strathairn.

Scarpa’s involvement with the FBI makes the movie’s premise sound like Hollywood invention, but the mobster really did have a decades-long relationship with the bureau as an informant. Known as the “Grim Reaper,” Scarpa was a member of New York’s Colombo crime family.

The movie dramatizes Scarpa’s work with federal authorities investigating Klan violence, while taking liberties with the historical record. Abdul-Mateen’s Strider, for example, is a fictional composite rather than the real FBI agent who worked with Scarpa.

Critics were divided on how successfully By Any Means blends its historical subject matter with the conventions of an action thriller, but several singled out Abdul-Mateen’s performance for praise.

The Associated Press’ Mark Kennedy praised the actor for creating a “complex, charismatic character from thin air,” as Strider evolves from a by-the-book agent into someone increasingly willing to pursue justice outside the system.

The Guardian’s Owen Myers called the movie “grimly effective” and described it as “one of the most grisly and upsetting films in recent memory.” Despite reservations about some of the movie’s choices, Myers ultimately declared By Any Means “hard to forget.”

IndieWire’s Christian Zilko similarly noted the film’s ability to package its historical subject matter as an accessible thriller, writing that its approach could introduce the story to viewers who were unfamiliar with it.

The movie has also connected considerably better with audiences than critics. As of Oct. 20, By Any Means holds a 49% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes, compared with an 88% score from more than 1,000 verified audience ratings.

For viewers interested in seeing what all the fuss is about, there’s no longer a trip to the movie theater required.

By Any Means is available to buy or rent digitally beginning Oct. 20. A subscription streaming date has not yet been announced.

Dame Judith Dench has never been one to bite her tongue, and when it comes to her movie Cats, she’s got a lot to say.

The 2019 film was based on Andrew Lloyd Webber’s hit musical of the same name. Despite playing Old Deuteronomy in the film adaptation, the legendary actress admitted in a May 2020 interview with British Vogue that she hadn’t watched the finished film and wasn’t exactly thrilled with how her character looked. She also had some hilariously brutal words for the orange fur coat she wore for the role, saying it looked like five foxes were having sex on her back.

Now, in her upcoming memoir, Is It Too Late to Make a Run for It?, Dench is revisiting her experience working on the box-office disaster, which was directed by Tom Hooper, who hasn’t released another feature film since.

“Oh God, I can’t bear it,” Dench wrote in her book, per The Guardian. “And [Lloyd Webber] had waited so long for it to be made. What a waste of all that goodwill and talent.”

While Dench clearly isn’t looking back on Cats with fond memories, she also seems to recognize that everyone involved had the best intentions. And despite the film’s less-than-stellar reception, the Oscar-winning actress isn’t pointing fingers or placing blame. Instead, she’s acknowledging the unfortunate reality of Hollywood: Sometimes, even a project packed with A-list talent doesn’t deliver.

“I understand the critics were rather hostile to the film. I never saw the final cut so I can’t judge. All I’ll say is nobody sets out to give a poor performance or make a bad film. You do your best, offer something up and hope that people will get on board and join the party.”

Unfortunately, the movie might’ve been doomed from the start because the backlash began as soon as the trailer was released. One of the biggest controversies surrounding Cats was its questionable use of CGI. The film used a technique dubbed “digital fur technology” to transform its cast into human-cat hybrids, complete with fur, tails, and whiskers.

Instead of wowing viewers, it became the source of the film’s criticism, with people noticing that none of the cats had anuses but still had human hands. The backlash was so bad that director Tom Hooper made adjustments to the visual effects ahead of the premiere. But even after its release, Universal still reportedly sent theaters another revised version to fix some of the CGI issues. Talk about a CATastrophe (sorry, had to do it)!

“There were no villains in the making of Cats,” writes Dench. “And if something isn’t a success, then there are always things you can say you’ve learned.”

The cause of Sahara Ray’s death has now been announced, after news of her passing away was released yesterday. The model and ex of famous singer Justin Bieber was only 34 at the time of her passing – which has now been reported as the result of a fentanyl overdose.

Like most fans across the globe, Kristin Davis is wondering what the future holds for HBO’s long-running series, Sex and the City, even as she remains hopeful about a potential reunion at some point in the near future.

Appearing on a recent episode of the Are You A Charlotte? podcast, the 61-year-old Golden Globe-nominated actress spoke about her character’s future with her on-screen husband Evan Handler.

During the course of their conversation, Handler wondered about the economic health of the couple, mentioning that he had had a conversation with a financial advisor who said their income would likely have dried up within a few years.

“And I thought, well, come on. Charlotte doesn’t want Harry working as much anymore or he doesn’t want to keep working,” Handler said of both his and Davis’ characters. “They realize they don’t have as much money as they thought they did or enough.” 

“They do the same thing and find out that they can’t actually sustain what happens to Harry and Charlotte if they feel they have to change the way they live,” he went on to say.

Addressing these concerns, Davis then off-handedly mentioned a potential reunion for Sex and the City following HBO’s brief revival series, And Just Like That…, which ran for three seasons from 2023 to 2025. (By comparison, the original Sex and the City aired for six seasons on HBO from 1998 to 2004.)

“It’s true. I mean, I feel like, look, we don’t know what’s gonna happen, right?” Davis responded. “Like I have trouble believing that we’re not gonna do one more thing because that’s just always how I feel, you know? It’s just always how I feel. But also because it’s fun to think about what we might do, right? And I do think that it would be interesting.”

Molly Ringwald was an ‘80s teen queen in the John Hughes films Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, and Pretty in Pink. Forty years later, she thinks those films need to stay in the past.

Speaking with People TV’s Couch Surfing, Ringwald, 58, explained that Hughes, who died in 2009, wouldn’t have wanted a reboot or sequel to the coming-of-age movies.

“You can’t reboot the John Hughes movies,” she said. “He doesn’t want it to be done, and I don’t think it should be done. [Those films were] of a certain time… [with] things that are not appropriate [now] that were barely appropriate then.”

“I really loved those movies and by no means do I want to turn my back on them,“ she added. “But I would like it for people to take the good from that and are inspired by that to make something that is relevant to what’s going on today because the world is a different place.”

In The Breakfast Club, Ringwald co-starred with Emilio Estevez, Anthony Michael Hall, Judd Nelson, and Ally Sheedy as five high school students from different cliques serving detention. In the film, her character, a popular girl named Claire, is taunted and sexually harassed by Estevez’s bad boy John Bender.

The Breakfast Club is seemingly the movie that Ringwald takes the most issue with.

The actress previously said she felt that some scenes in the movie didn’t age well. In a 2018 essay for The New Yorker, she wrote, “Hughes’s films play constantly on television and are even taught in schools. There is still so much that I love in them, but lately I have felt the need to examine the role that these movies have played in our cultural life: where they came from, and what they might mean now.”

Even before writing her essay, Ringwald noted that the film’s premise would be unlikely today.

“I don’t think you could remake it now, they would all just be on their phones and no one would speak to each other,” she told Us Weekly in 2017.

Her co-star Nelson agreed, telling the outlet, “Not without John Hughes. With John Hughes, OK. But without him, how can they?”

“It comes from him,” he added of Hughes’ film magic. “We were lucky. It’s like a fast horse. We were lucky to get that ride and not fall off.”

Southern Charm star Molly O’Connell is revealing why she gave the finger to a social media post about Patricia Altschul’s comments on her plastic surgery during an appearance on the You’re the Shift With Ryan Albert podcast.

In an interview with Parade, O’Connell explained why Altschul’s remarks were hurtful, opening up about the way women’s bodies are discussed and the personal struggles that can make those comments sting.

“I think the way that people speak about women and their bodies in general can be a little icky,” O’Connell said. “I think it can be sensitive to some people.”

The drama started after Altschul, 85, discussed O’Connell and fellow Southern Charm star Salley Carson’s plastic surgery admissions during an October 14 appearance on the podcast. O’Connell previously revealed on the Bravo series that she underwent liposuction on her ankles and calves before having the fat transferred to her breasts.

“Two of the girls talked about all of the plastic surgery they’d had. And these are 20-year-old women,” Altschul said. “And things I’ve never heard of, like, taking fat out of your ankles and putting it in your boobs. That’s a new one for me. I mean, you can read a book. You don’t need to go to those extremes.”

After a clip of the interview was shared on Instagram by Queens of Bravo, O’Connell responded with a middle-finger emoji.

But while the gesture made her feelings clear, the reality star told Parade that the situation wasn’t quite as serious as some people have made it out to be.

“It was just like, hurtful, but I don’t think it’s as deep as everyone’s running with it now,” she said. “I’m like, ‘Oh God, it wasn’t that deep.’”

Still, O’Connell explained that the remarks struck a nerve for a reason beyond the fact that Altschul was discussing her decision to undergo plastic surgery.

“Knowing my weight fluctuations and the issues that I’ve struggled with, that the size of my ankles was commented on,” she said, adding that she felt singled out because she wasn’t the only person who had undergone cosmetic procedures. She also took issue with the implication that she needed to “read more books.”

O’Connell’s comments come after another body-related controversy involving Altschul’s son, Whitney Sudler-Smith. During a previous episode of Southern Charm, Sudler-Smith told O’Connell she didn’t need a cupcake, a moment that previously upset the reality star.

However, O’Connell said, “If you know Whitney, you just know that sometimes he says insensitive things and he didn’t mean it in a malicious way.”

She also didn’t think what Altschul said was truly malicious, but instead “a little insensitive.”

As for what viewers can expect when Southern Charm returns for Season 12, O’Connell teased that fans will see a different side of her this time around.

“I kind of turned back into old Molly, where she gets a little angry, she gets a little crazy,” she dished with Parade. “I dipped my toe into the drama. More than my toe, I would say I cannonballed into it this season.”

U2 is taking on the halftime show this Thanksgiving Eve. 

While speculation over who will headline the Super Bowl Halftime show continues (with Miley Cyrus and Jay-Z’s names at the top), the Irish rock band is headlining another show for the first time.

Netflix announced that U2 will headline the halftime show of the NFL’s first-ever Thanksgiving Eve game.

The game, a primetime matchup between the Green Bay Packers and the Los Angeles Rams, will air live from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, on Wednesday, November 25, 2026, with kickoff at 8 p.m. ET.

What makes the performance even more special is that U2 is celebrating 50 years as a band since forming in Dublin in 1976, as they celebrate from the 50-yard line.

This isn’t U2’s first team-up with the NFL, however, as they previously delivered a halftime show at Super Bowl XXXVI in February 2002.

“There’s a reason U2 has headlined stadiums for decades: they don’t just perform, they deliver iconic moments audiences remember forever,” said Ted Sarandos, co-CEO of Netflix. “We’re thrilled that they’ll bring that same magic to the NFL stage on Netflix. It’s going to be an unforgettable night for football fans and Netflix members worldwide.”

BBC Music Magazine also recently honored the band with the distinction of greatest Irish bands of all time.

The performance follows Netflix’s first Christmas Gameday in 2024 with Beyoncé’s four-time Emmy-nominated Beyoncé Bowl, performed at halftime of the Baltimore Ravens vs. Houston Texans game. And in 2025, Snoop Dogg delivered Snoop’s Holiday Halftime Party to the Detroit Lions vs. Minnesota Vikings Christmas Day game.

This year, the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams kicked off the NFL’s first-ever regular-season game in Australia in September. After the Thanksgiving Eve game, one of the NFL’s oldest rivalries between the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears will broadcast on Christmas Day.

Games will be available in over 200 countries in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and German.

Kelly Clarkson may have wrapped up her daytime talk show, but fans could soon get a fresh taste of one of its most popular musical traditions. Brandi Carlile is already teasing what could happen when the two singers share a stage next year.

Carlile announced that Clarkson will join her for the 2027 edition of Girls Just Wanna Weekend, the destination music festival returning to Mexico Jan. 14–18. Sierra Ferrell will also headline the event, which brings together women and nonbinary artists for several days of concerts, activities, and community events.

And Carlile has a particularly fun idea for what Clarkson might bring to the party.

“The Kellyoke this year will be out of control,” Carlile joked on Instagram, referencing the popular cover-song segment from The Kelly Clarkson Show. The performances became a fan favorite, showcasing Clarkson’s powerhouse vocals as she tackled songs by artists ranging from Coldplay to Celine Dion.

The timing makes the booking especially interesting. Clarkson’s Emmy-winning daytime series ended its seven-season run on Aug. 31, with the singer choosing to step away from the daily hosting schedule to prioritize her children. She has made clear, however, that she plans to continue making music and performing.

Now, the festival could let her bring the spirit of Kellyoke to a live audience outside the familiar confines of her former studio.

The lineup also includes The Beaches, CMAT, Allison Russell, Brandy Clark, Lucius, SistaStrings, and several other performers, with additional special guests and activities still to be announced.

Whether Clarkson actually delivers a full set of surprise covers remains to be seen. But if Carlile’s teasing is any indication, fans attending Girls Just Wanna Weekend may want to be ready for a few unexpected musical moments.
