Snuck into the pop star's music video for "Patrona," the lead single for her 5th studio album, Baraja Bendita, is a very unique bottle of Patrón for the Rainwater Project release designed by the multi-hyphenate Latina performer. Inspired by her family's Jalisco roots, the Inglewood, California native has worked with the tequila distillery on a collection meant to draw attention to the Mexican province's initiatives for reliable access to water. Through Patrón and her work with the nonprofit Isla Urbana, the limited-edition Rainwater PATRÓN Silver Collection release comes with the commitment to fund the installation of 200 rainwater harvesting systems across various communities in Jalisco.

Both Becky G and Patrón have dedicated themselves to uplifting the country they hail from, and are giving back to the communities that need it the most. "Jalisco has shaped both PATRÓN and me,” said Becky G in the release. “It's where PATRÓN is made and where all four of my abuelitos are from. Working with PATRÓN on our Rainwater Project Limited Edition PATRÓN Silver gave us an opportunity to celebrate that connection while helping shine a light on something incredibly important."

Game of Thrones may have ended in 2019, but the fantasy epic is still dominating conversations in a way few television shows ever have.

According to new research from BetMGM Casino, HBO's Emmy-winning series was the most-discussed television show across U.S. podcasts in 2026, outperforming both current streaming hits and even its own hit prequel, House of the Dragon.

Researchers analyzed more than 73,000 U.S. podcast episodes published between January and July 2026 that mentioned titles from IMDb's 50 Most Popular TV Series list. Game of Thrones appeared in 6,895 podcast episodes, earning the No. 1 spot overall.

The result is especially notable because the series concluded more than seven years ago. Yet it continues to generate more discussion than current favorites including:

• Stranger Things (6,192 mentions)
• From (4,456)
• The Simpsons (3,973)
• Love Island USA (3,579)
• The Bear (3,170)
• Breaking Bad (3,144)

Perhaps the biggest surprise is how far behind House of the Dragon landed.

Despite becoming one of HBO's biggest recent successes and expanding George R.R. Martin'sfantasy universe, the prequel ranked just No. 22, appearing in 1,073 podcast episodes (less than one-sixth of Game of Thrones' total).

The gap suggests that while House of the Dragon has built a devoted audience of its own, the original series remains the cultural touchstone people continue to revisit, debate and compare against.

The research also highlights the staying power of older television classics.

Alongside Game of Thrones, longtime favorites including The Simpsons, Breaking Bad, The Sopranos andThe Office all ranked ahead of many newer streaming originals, underscoring how legacy series continue to shape entertainment conversations years after leaving the air.

While new shows regularly dominate weekly streaming charts, Game of Thrones appears to occupy a different category altogether. Whether fans are revisiting controversial storylines, debating the series finale, ranking unforgettable character deaths or speculating about future Westeros projects, the show remains firmly embedded in pop culture.

52 years ago today, on July 15, 1974, Dolly Parton and Porter Wagoner released “Please Don’t Stop Loving Me.” The traditional-sounding tune appeared as the lead single from their eleventh collaborative studio album titled Porter ‘n’ Dolly. 

While not romantically involved, Parton and Wagoner shared a close relationship as business partners. So much so that Parton served as a permanent fixture onThe Porter Wagoner Show, where she spent seven years on the nationally syndicated program after making her debut in 1967. 

During that time, Wagoner was Parton’s manager and producer, and she considered him a mentor. Throughout the years, the pair co-wrote and recorded numerous songs together, including Top 10 hits like “The Last Thing on My Mind,” “Making Plans,” and “Just Someone I Used to Know.” 

They also released “Please Don’t Stop Loving Me,” which became their first and only Parton/Wagoner duet to reach No. 1. The track, which still resonates with listeners today, topped the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart, where it stayed for one week.

Lyrically, the rollicking “Please Don’t Stop Loving Me” opens with a catchy chorus, and Parton and Wagoner join their vocals together in effortless harmony while begging each other to stay committed to their feelings for one another. Parton showcases her distinctive songbird vocals on the first verse, doting on her partner, telling him that he brings on sunshine before Wagoner showcases his vocals on the second verse, expressing to his partner just how important her role is in his life. 

“Please Don’t Stop Loving Me” was released just months after Parton announced her exit from The Porter Wagoner Show. Though the track was a major hit for Parton and Wagoner, a different song would go on to become Parton’s signature song and a farewell to her collaborator — “I Will Always Love You.” 

To soften the blow of her leaving The Porter Wagoner Show, Parton wrote the lyrics to “I Will Always Love You.” Through the song, she communicated her gratitude for their friendship, but also made clear that she desired to pursue a solo career. After stepping away from the show, Parton would go on to release many hits as a female force in country music, including “Jolene,” “9 to 5,” “Here You Come Again,” and others.

Some songs are so culturally relevant that they serve as a sort of shorthand in movies and TV shows: As soon as you hear it, you're transported to a specific time or filled with a certain feeling (or both). Take, for example, "Get Together," released by the Youngbloods in 1967. It's been used in movies like "Forrest Gump," "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" and others (not to mention countless shows and commercials) to immediately evoke that "Summer of Love" vibe, and with good reason. Over 50 years since it first hit the airwaves, it remains the defining anthem of the era. Oddly enough, though, it didn't catch on at first.

While the Youngbloods' version of "Get Together" is the most well-known, it wasn't the first. Written by Chet Powers (otherwise known as Dino Valenti) in 1963, the song was recorded and released by the Kingston Trio, the We Five and Jefferson Airplane before the Youngbloods put their own spin on it, according to American Songwriter.

The Youngbloods' lead singer, Jesse Colin Young, first heard the song played at an open mic in Greenwich Village.

"It was a Sunday afternoon and I was walking through the Village and thought, 'Oh, the Go Go's gonna be dark. I'll call the band; we can rehearse,'" Young told NPR's Tom Cole, who praised "Get Together" as an "anthem for every season."

"I walked down the stairs and it turned out to be an open mic," Young continued. "I thought I would turn around and go home. But Buzzy Linhart was onstage singing 'Get Together.' That song just stopped me in my tracks."

As Young explained, the first two lines of the song really hit home at the time.

"'Love is but a song we sing / Fear's the way we die.' Wow — the human condition in two lines," he said, noting, "Back then we were all subject to the draft. That made everything more life and death. And hope is what comes out of that song."

David Freiberg of Jefferson Starship recalled being similarly affected by the song (initially titled "Let's Get Together") when Powers/Valenti first played it for him while he was in Los Angeles visiting a friend.

"In pops Dino Valenti driving in like a crazy [man] and says, 'Hey man, listen to this song I just wrote!' " Freiberg said. "And we listened to it and went, 'Oh my goodness! How great that song is.' And we're quickly writing down the lyrics to it."

The Youngbloods released their version, now titled "Get Together," on their 1967 debut album, The Youngbloods. At first, it didn't make a huge impact, peaking at just #62 on the Billboard Hot 100. That changed after the song was used in a public service announcement for the National Conference of Christians and Jews, prompting people to call radio stations asking for it to be played. The sudden surge in popularity grabbed the attention of record exec Augie Blum.

"Augie Blum, the head of promotion at RCA, went to his boss and said, 'I want this song again. Now's the time for it,'" Young explained. "And they told him, 'Now Augie, we don't do that. You know we released it once. That's it.' And he said, 'You release a song again or I'm out of here.' He was too valuable for them to lose. So they put it out again, and he was right, of course. The country was ready."

The second time around, "Get Together" went all the way to #5 on the Hot 100, making it the Youngbloods' only Top 40 hit.

Whether most of your interactions are with your friends, family, children, colleagues, customers or anyone in between, emotional intelligence is an incredibly important skill for any adult when it comes to dealing with other people.

When someone has high emotional intelligence (also known as emotional quotient, EI or EQ), that means they have a strong awareness of their own and others' emotions, as well as the ability to manage and regulate those emotions, according to Psychology Today.

Having high emotional intelligence can help improve someone's life in so many ways. According to the nonprofit HelpGuide.org, a high EI can help bolster stress levels, overall mental health, interpersonal relationships and social awareness.

Conversely, those with low emotional intelligence may struggle with things like stress, coping skills, relationships, sensitivity and social interactions. In fact, there are a number of social habits that can signal low EQ, according to Dr. Whitley Lassen, Psy.D., MBA, a licensed clinical psychologist and Head of Operations at Willow Health.

"As a psychologist with deep experience working with patients experiencing trauma or in crisis, I know that when people have low emotional intelligence, they aren’t necessarily unkind or immature by nature," she tells Parade. In most cases, something specific contributes to an individual's low emotional intelligence.

What Causes Low Emotional Intelligence?

One factor that can lead to someone having low emotional intelligence is how EQ was modeled to them as a child.

"When someone has low emotional intelligence, it can often be caused by their upbringing and poor role models for handling emotions," says Dr. Lassen.

Additionally, low emotional intelligence can also be related to a "neurodevelopmental difference," such as autism (Autism Spectrum Disorder or ASD) or ADHD. Furthermore, some mental health conditions can make a person come across as emotionally insensitive.

"Stress, depression, anxiety or trauma can interfere with one’s emotional intelligence and influence if someone has low emotional intelligence that occurs alongside a mental health concern," the psychologist shares.

Similarly, if someone who is usually quite emotionally intelligent starts dealing with mental health struggles, their EQ may temporarily falter.

"Sometimes people experiencing overwhelming symptoms of depression or anxiety can come off as being less emotionally intelligent, even if that’s not the case," Dr. Lassen explains, adding that symptoms of depression and low emotional intelligence can overlap in a few ways.

Fortunately, one's EQ is not a permanent state, and it can always be improved (more on how to do that, below).

"You can think of emotional intelligence as a set of skills that you can continue to practice and develop," she states. "Often emotional intelligence gets better naturally with practice and experience."

A Psychologist Says These 4 Social Habits Can Indicate Low Emotional Intelligence1. Reduced empathy

Someone with reduced empathy for others may have low emotional intelligence, says Dr. Lassen.

"Sometimes someone feeling emotional pain or anxiety can lack the ability to support or feel for others who are also feeling emotions," she explains. "This can also appear as being less responsive when you’re trying to speak with them, being withdrawn, shutting down in emotional conversations or coming off uninterested."

2. Defensiveness

According to Dr. Lassen, when highly sensitive people get overwhelmed, they tend to come off as defensive—and increased defensiveness can be an indicator of low EQ.

"When working with patients experiencing depressive symptoms or anxiety, they often come to me with their own feelings of shame around their feelings," she says. "This can cause receiving feedback to be overwhelming, which may come across as someone being overly sensitive. Sensitivity can be expressed as crying, reacting or getting irritated or frustrated, which can come off as defensive."

3. Snapping at others

"Someone with low emotional intelligence may be more likely to have challenges with regulating their emotions," Dr. Lassen explains.

"If someone is feeling intense sadness, anger, anxiety, guilt, shame or overwhelm, it could cause them to snap at friends or loved ones," she continues. "For someone with low EQ, this could be a result of being defensive or only interested in their own perspective of a problem."

4. Lacking interest

"Difficulty maintaining conversations with friends or family or saying no to activities or social engagement because of apathy or lacking interest can be a sign of low emotional intelligence," explains Dr. Lassen.

And often, these symptoms signal more than just low EQ; they can also indicate anxiety or depression.

How Can You Help Someone Increase Their Emotional Intelligence?

In almost any situation, "low emotional intelligence can improve through practice and reinforcement," shares Dr. Lassen, adding, "Modeling emotional intelligence for your loved one is one way to support their development of it."

In fact, there are many ways she says you can model high EQ to others. For instance:

• When you make a mistake, take responsibility for it and acknowledge the other person's feelings.
• Ask others questions to show curiosity.
• After a disagreement, calmly discuss what happened and acknowledge the other person's feelings about the situation.
• Give positive reinforcement whenever they display signs of improved emotional intelligence, such as apologizing or showing curiosity in others.

Additionally, Dr. Lassen has found working with a therapist on emotional intelligence to be quite effective.

"In many cases, working with a mental health professional can further help develop the strategies you need to strengthen EQ," she says.

The same goes for someone whose low EQ might be tied to more serious mental health issues.

"Seeking mental health support to overcome depression or anxiety with a professional, whether in-person or virtually, can help you navigate these symptoms or habits and develop tools and strategies to cope," Dr. Lassen states.

On July 14, the publicationAmerican Songwriter included the tune, off the band's record Dumb Waiters, on a list of "3 one-hit wonders from 1980 with melodies that still echo decades later." According to American Songwriter, the other two once-popular tracks released in 1980 with memorable melodies are Robbie Dupree's “Steal Away” and Johnny Lee's “Lookin’ For Love."

"Everybody’s Got To Learn Sometime" secured the number 21 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 in December 1980, five months after Dumb Waiters was released.

James Warren Has Discussed Writing & Recording 'Everybody's Got to Learn Sometime'

During a 2024 interview with BBC Breakfast, alongside his current The Korgis bandmates, John Baker and Al Steele, James Warren discussed recording "Everybody’s Got to Learn Sometime." Warren noted that the song was recorded at Crescent Studios with the help of audio engineer David Lord. According to Warren, Lord helped improve "Everybody’s Got to Learn Sometime."

"I originally came along with a demo. All I had in mind was a voice, piano, drums, and bass, and that was it. But David Lord, who was a fantastic musician, as well as the engineer that he is, said, 'No, let's make it a bit more special. I think I can do something better with this,'" recalled the singer-songwriter.

In a 2019 interview with Strange Brew, Warren explained how he came up with the hit song. Warren shared that he "was very into Buddhism" when he wrote, "Everybody’s Got to Learn Sometime."

"[T]he notion that fundamental personal transformation has to be an inner thing as opposed to an outward, political movement and the words echo that feeling: 'Change your heart, look around you, change your heart, it will astound you,'" said the musician, now 74. "Also, I loved the simplicity of haiku poems, and fortunately, the melody of this song seemed to lend itself to that kind of approach. Of course, I wanted to find a lyrical match to the melody as well."

Forty-nine years ago, legendary rock group Lynyrd Skynyrd released "That Smell"—a song that remains a classic despite never charting on any Billboard charts.

Released on October 17, 1977 as a track from their fifth studio album, Street Survivors, "That Smell" quickly became a fan favorite. Although the song was widely recognized as a standout track among both fans and critics, it was never officially issued as a commercial single. Because of this, it never appeared on the Billboard Hot 100.

Street Survivors was a highly successful record, becoming their highest-charting album of the '70s by peaking at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 LP chart. It has since been certified 2× Multi-Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), selling over 2 million copies in the U.S. alone.

Sadly, Street Survivors marked Lynyrd Skynyrd's final album with their original lineup. Only three days after its release, a plane crash tragically claimed the lives of lead vocalist Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist Steve Gaines and backing vocalist Cassie Gaines, bringing a sudden and devastating end to the group's legendary golden era.

The Backstory & Impact

Co-written by Van Zant and guitarist Allen Collins, "That Smell" was penned as a cautionary warning about the band's decline into dangerous, drug and alcohol-riddled lifestyles. The track's lyrical content was inspired by an incident where guitarist Gary Rossington recklessly crashed his car into an oak tree while under the influence.

In an archival interview from 1979, Rossington spoke about the song's inspiration, reflecting on the night of the crash: "I was just so high I didn't know what the hell was going on... my teeth knocked out and all this shit... [Ronnie] wrote it for that, to tell everybody to cool it a little bit."

The track's brutally honest lyricism about the dark side of drug addiction and rock-and-roll antics, alongside the band's plane crash tragedy, struck a chord in listeners. Its dark lyrics stripped drug use of its glamorous stereotype, reminding fans that life is precious and not to be throw it away.

The lyrics "One hell of a price for you to get your kicks" and "Say you'll be alright come tomorrow / But tomorrow might not be here for you" drive the point home that your life is simply not worth the temporary high of substance abuse.

Nearly five decades after its release, the song continues to resonate with listeners. The track's popularity has carried over seamlessly into the digital era. On Spotify alone, the song has garnered over 111 million streams, speaking to the importance of heavy-hitting rock songs and their ability to leave a lasting impact.

On July 15, 2016, Netflix released a show that continues to be among the streamer's most successful franchises of all time: Stranger Things. For nearly a decade, the series brought audiences into the Upside Down and introduced them to a range of characters, from beloved fan-favorites like Eleven/Jane Hopper and Steve Harrington to terrifying villains like Papa/Dr. Martin Brenner and, of course, Vecna/Henry Creel (which are actually just a few of his names).

The backlash to Stranger Things season 5 was actually so intense that it gave way to a surprisingly widespread conspiracy theory, Conformity Gate, which espoused the belief that the Stranger Things finale was so inconsistent with the rest of the show and, in some fans' views, so poor in quality that it was surely a fake-out finale and a real final episode was coming. Ultimately, that was proven untrue, which has left a sour taste in the mouths of some in the fanbase.

Nevertheless, the 10th anniversary of the show has stirred up plenty of celebration, such as a series of Instagram posts on the official Stranger Things account, sharing videos of multiple cast members reflecting on their impressions of one another the first time that they met, including Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Natalia Dyer, Jamie Campbell Bower and several others.

Although Stranger Things is officially over, the franchise has branched out in myriad ways, including with the animated series Stranger Things: Tales From '85, which centers on many of the main characters from the original show but is set between seasons 2 and 3.

Mason Haynes, a celebrity bodyguard who worked with numerous A-listers, including Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner, has died at the age of 52.

A GoFundMe says that Haynes died on July 4, 2026, which was two days before his 53rd birthday.

"Mason’s life was taken far too soon in a tragic road traffic accident," the page reads. "He leaves behind his devoted wife Fay, his daughter Brooke, his son Noah, a loving family, and an extraordinary circle of friends spread across the world.

Specifically, he was part of Kim Kardashian's team when she was robbed at gunpoint in Paris in 2016. Along with the Kardashians, Haynes worked with stars including Kevin Hart, Nicki Minaj, Charlie Puth and Formula 1's Lewis Hamilton.

The GoFundMe further details the kind of person Haynes was, saying he "made people feel welcome from the moment they met him."

"A man who would cross countries to help a friend," the page continued. "A man who never let a loved one down and who saw the deep qualities in people that others often overlooked. A protector. A mentor. A prankster. A giant in every sense of the word, with an even bigger heart."

The site was created to aid his family, Fay, Brooke and Noah, while ensuring that Haynes "gets the send-off he truly deserves."

Others paid tribute following news of his passing.

"We would like to pay homage to an absolute legend in the Close Protection game. Big Mason. Gone too soon. Rest easy and fly high, Brother 🕊️,' Trojan Security posted on Instagram.

The Nineties are full of great movie-music moments. With Martin Scorsese dropping needles in Goodfellas, Casino, and Bringing Out the Dead, and Quentin Tarantino creating iconic music moments in Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction, there’s a lot to rock out to. But one often-overlooked needle drop also deserves attention, and BBC’s Classic Music magazine is giving it its flowers.

Sonny & Cher’s “I Got You Babe,” an upbeat, repetitive, and cyclical duet, appears in Groundhog Day more than 20 times, making it the ultimate time-loop song and the perfect soundtrack for Bill Murray’s Phil Connors, who cannot escape his one true companion: himself.

BBC writes, “‘I Got You Babe’ was an inspired choice, sunny and upbeat, not to mention repetitive, and over the course of the film, Connors might even find a little wisdom in its message of love, trust, and understanding.”

Fans of the film know it takes dozens of attempts before the rude and contemptuous weatherman grows a heart--and that the film only gets better with every “I Got You Babe” moment.

Released in July 1965 and written by Sonny Bono, “I Got You Babe” is celebrating 61 years in the songbooks. The track, which feels just as happy today as it did more than six decades ago, was a massive success in the '60s, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in August that year. The song was the duo’s only No. 1.

Inspired by Bob Dylan’s “It Ain’t Me Babe,” Bono hunkered down in the garage of his and Cher’s manager’s home and wrote the lyrics and music to “I Got You Babe.” According to American Songwriter, he scribbled the verses down on a scrap of cardboard and took them right to Cher.

“Sonny woke me up in the middle of the night to come in where the piano was, in the living room, and sing it,” she told ABC News in 2015, reflecting on the success of the hit song. “I didn’t like it and just said, ‘OK. I’ll sing it, and then I’m going back to bed.’ So, I was never a very good barometer.”

Groundhog Day, directed by Harold Ramis, was a massive hit, too. Earning more than $105 million worldwide against an estimated $15 million budget, the comedy starring Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell follows a curmudgeonly weatherman reliving Groundhog Day in wintry Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, over and over again. Meanwhile, each morning begins the same way: with Sonny & Cher’s timeless hit blaring from the alarm clock.

The song was chosen, according to screenplay co-writer DannyRubin, because, after a few replays, “it would drive you crazy!” he said, per the New York Post.

Since its release, Groundhog Day has become one of the greatest comedies of all time, with Sonny & Cher’s “I Got You Babe” carving out its own place in movie history.

Rubin once said Ramis viewed Groundhog Day as a modern fairy tale, akin to The Princess and the Frog, a story about transformation, redemption, and becoming the person you’re meant to be. And just like the Disney classic, this one is perfect for watching on repeat.

It’s the moment Days of Our Lives fans have been praying for, but for the first time in the digital age, Sony has opened the vault and is allowing fans to experience classic episodes from the fictional world of Salem, USA.

Following in the footsteps of fellow soap operas The Bold and the Beautiful, Neighbors, and Shortland Street, the series is being uploaded onto the social media platform YouTube on the SoapDaily channel.

The series began uploading episodes from 1998 and is currently adding episodes from 1999 at a rate of two per day. The upload schedule is expected to continue for the foreseeable future as more episodes are digitized. While no timeline has been shared, Sony has confirmed plans to upload additional years of the series.

The episodes began with the downfall and end of Kristen Blake DiMera (Eileen Davidson), the introduction of Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker), the destruction of Bo’s (Peter Reckell) relationship with Billie Reed (Krista Allen), and so many other iconic characters and moments.

While the time period may not be the most fondly remembered in Days of Our Lives history, the YouTube channel previously teased that it is currently digitizing the first “season” of the soap opera, meaning fans may see the first episodes of the series since its original broadcast in 1965. Although no timeline has been shared as of publication, fans are encouraged to stay tuned for further updates as more episodes are added to the service.

Fans watching the series on YouTube may notice that there are points at which episodes are being actively skipped. A representative of Sony confirms to Parade that episodes are being uploaded as they clear musically. During the original broadcast of the episodes, popular music was heard in the background of scenes, creating further legal hurdles that must be addressed before the episodes are cleared for upload.

In a note shared on the official Soaps Daily account, the channel shared, “Honestly, I didn’t expect so many of you to binge this in real time! Your incredible knowledge of Days of Our Lives history gives me so much joy. Eventually, all the gaps will be gone.”

The channel has teased “full-season marathons” that are in the works, and asked viewers to vote for the storyline that kept them on the edge of their seats, ranging from Patch and Kayla’s romance in the 1980s, to the 1990 Cruise of Deception, Marlena’s devil possession, and the Salem Stalker.

New episodes of Days of Our Lives continue to be broadcast exclusively on Peacock in the United States, whereas the classic episodes of Days of Our Lives appear to be available worldwide unless held back due to international licensing agreements.

Forty-eight years after launching her recording career, Lucinda Williams is preparing for another run across North America.

The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter has announced the World's Gone Wrong Tour, a 31-date headlining trek in support of her latest album of the same name. The fall outing begins with two nights in Atlanta on Sept. 24 and concludes Nov. 17 after a series of special performances in Minneapolis.

The newly announced itinerary includes stops in Charlotte, Washington, D.C., Woodstock, Toronto, Denver and Dallas, along with four-night residencies in both Chicago and Minneapolis. Select performances in those two cities will be billed as "Ballads, Blues and More — A Quiet Night with Lucinda Williams and Her Band." General ticket sales begin July 17.

Williams is touring behind World's Gone Wrong, her latest studio album, which was released earlier this year.

"The nature of the songs, and the nature of the beast—what's been going on in the country and you-know-who in the White House; the day after day after day after day insane chaos and craziness—was right in our face," Williams told Paste of her latest album. "I've been wanting to write some songs like this for a while, but they were kind of challenging. It's harder for me to write a topical song than a love song—because, if I was going to write one, I wanted it to be on the level of Bob Dylan's 'Masters of War,' or something like that."

World's Gone Wrong follows 2023's Stories From a Rock n Roll Heart and continues the acclaimed songwriter's remarkable late-career resurgence after returning to performing following the stroke she suffered in 2020.

"I still struggle when I walk," Williams told NPR. "My tour manager, Travis, has my arm as I walk on and walk off the stage. Sometimes I hold on to the mic stand just to balance myself. I can sing. I'm not playing guitar right now; that's going to have to come later."

Williams' career stretches back to 1978, when she released her self-titled debut album. Over the decades, she has become one of America's most respected singer-songwriters, blending rock, country, folk and blues into a style that has influenced generations of artists. Albums such as Car Wheels on a Gravel Road, Sweet Old World and Essence helped establish her as one of the defining voices of Americana.

Her work has earned widespread acclaim, including multiple Grammy Awards and a place among the most celebrated songwriters of her generation. Zac Brown Band's signature hit "Chicken Fried" has returned to the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time since 2009, marking an unexpected chart comeback 17 years after the song first became a country music staple.

Billboard reported that "Chicken Fried" re-entered the Hot 100 at No. 32 following major streaming increases tied to Independence Day celebrations and renewed attention during the 2026 FIFA World Cup festivities. 

The song previously peaked at No. 20 on the all-genre chart and spent 26 weeks on the Hot 100 during its original run.

The return places Zac Brown Band alongside several classic American songs that saw strong gains during the Fourth of July period, including tracks by Toby Keith, Bruce Springsteen, John Denver and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

The renewed popularity of "Chicken Fried" comes just weeks after the Georgia group performed the song during the halftime show of the FIFA World Cup semifinal between France and Spain at AT&T Stadium in Dallas. 

Billboard credited both the holiday boost and the continued World Cup buzz for driving the song's return to the chart.

"Chicken Fried" was originally written by Zac Brown and longtime collaborator Wyatt Durrette. Brown had already started the song before the pair began working together in Atlanta, where they added references to Southern life and culture.

Zac Brown Band first recorded "Chicken Fried" in 2003 and later included it on their independent 2005 album Home Grown. The song's road to success was not straightforward.

Country group The Lost Trailers recorded the song in 2006 after receiving Brown's permission to include it on an album. However, Brown did not want the track released as a radio single.

The band re-recorded "Chicken Fried" in 2008 for its major-label debut album, The Foundation, with producer Keith Stegall overseeing the sessions.

The decision changed the band's future.

By late 2008, "Chicken Fried" became Zac Brown Band's first charting single and its first No. 1 hit on Billboard's country chart. The achievement also made the group the first country band to score a No. 1 hit with a debut single since Heartland's "I Loved Her First" in 2006.

The song has remained one of country music's most recognizable anthems thanks to its themes of family, food, small-town life and patriotism.

Its popularity has translated into long-term commercial success. "Chicken Fried" reached No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart, climbed to No. 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has earned a nine-times Platinum certification in the United States.

The single has also sold millions of copies and was ranked No. 39 on Taste of Country's list of the "Top 100 Country Songs of All Time."

The latest chart return arrives as Zac Brown Band prepares to launch its Love & Fear Tour on Friday in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The group recently completed an ambitious residency at Sphere in Las Vegas and is continuing to promote its latest album, Love & Fear, which was released in late 2025.

For now, however, one of the band's oldest songs is once again finding new listeners.

Long live the emo phase of the early 2000s rock era, which elder millennials witnessed when the sacred text of The Black Parade was written. Still, the crowds of My Chemical Romance's current 20th anniversary tour of the album show up, representing every generation that grew up on their music.

Just ask the audiences from MCR's three-night, sold-out tour stop at Wembley. "MCR proved that this wasn’t just emo nostalgia without bite; this is genuinely one of the most significant rock bands in modern history that still very much has the power and talent to take on the world by storm," shared a reporter from Far Out Magazine, who attended the final night. "The emotions in that stadium were genuine and real. There was a woman a few rows down from me who cried the entire show."

The nostalgia of the early '00s rock band from New Jersey and their seminal concept album still brings together O.G. fans and new ones, from its operatic and theatrical timelessness to tracks like "Famous Last Words" and "Teenagers" and the gateway G5 note drop that activated a whole new generation of converts from when the piano notes of "Welcome to the Black Parade" blew up as a TikTok trend. In the time since the album's 2006 release, lead singer Gerard Way became a prolific comic book writer with works such as The Umbrella Academy(later adapted into a hit Netflix series) and a run as a curator at DC Comics.

The UK shows had so many talked-about moments that went viral online. My Chemical Romance not only performed a no-skips set of The Black Parade, but they also unearthed deep cuts like the rarely performed "Desert Song," an almost unreleased track from the Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge era. I attended the show last year in Florida, which marked the last stop of the first stateside leg, and can attest that as an elder emo, I preferred to sit in seats overlooking the massive pit filled with kids experiencing their first MCR show. The band will return to the States this fall to close out the 20th anniversary performances with a Halloween-season final show (or funeral) at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
