1964 Hit Film Ranked Among ‘Best Movies of All Time’

Tue, 04/07/2026 - 9:33pm

In 1964, one film cemented James Bond as a global phenomenon.

Goldfinger, starring Sean Connery and directed by Guy Hamilton, has been ranked among the best movies of all time by Rotten Tomatoes, underscoring its lasting influence on cinema.

The third installment in the Bond franchise follows Agent 007 as he investigates the mysterious Auric Goldfinger, played by Gert Fröbe, whose elaborate scheme threatens global financial stability. With its mix of espionage, action and high-stakes drama, the film elevated the Bond formula to new heights.

Goldfinger is widely credited with establishing many of the signature elements that would come to define the franchise, from larger-than-life villains and elaborate gadgets to unforgettable one-liners. It also introduced one of the series' most memorable characters, Pussy Galore, and featured the now-iconic theme song performed by Shirley Bassey.

The film's success helped turn Bond into a cultural icon, with Connery's portrayal becoming the definitive version of the character for many fans. Its blend of style, humor and suspense set a template that countless action and spy films would follow.

The James Bond franchise itself was originally inspired by the spy novels of Ian Fleming, who introduced the character in his 1953 novel Casino Royale. Drawing on his own experiences in British naval intelligence, Fleming created Bond, a secret agent navigating a world of espionage, luxury and high-stakes conflict. The success of the books laid the foundation for the film series.

"When I wrote the first one, in 1953, I wanted Bond to be an extremely dull, uninteresting man to whom things happened; I wanted him to be the blunt instrument," Fleming told The New Yorker in 1962. "One of the bibles of my youth was Birds of the West Indies, by James Bond, a well-known ornithologist, and when I was casting about for a name for my protagonist I thought, My God, that's the dullest name I've ever heard, so I appropriated it. Now the dullest name in the world has become an exciting one. Mrs. Bond once wrote me a letter thanking me for using it."

More than six decades later, Goldfinger remains a cornerstone of the franchise and a defining achievement in the spy genre. With its inclusion on Rotten Tomatoes' list, the film’s legacy is once again reaffirmed, proving that its impact on pop culture and cinema continues to endure.

Married NFL Head Coach and Sports Reporter Get Handsy at Luxury Hotel

Tue, 04/07/2026 - 9:24pm

Mike Vrabel and Dianna Vrabel are explaining away recently published photos tonight.

Obtained exclusively by Page Six, the paparazzi shots show the New England Patriots head coach and New York Times senior NFL reporterforThe Athletic holding hands and hugging with the scenic Brins Mesa flat-top range at the Ambiente Sedona seeming to be their only witness.

According to the outlet, the pair were seen at the adults-only hotel two weekends ago.

— New York Post (@nypost) April 7, 2026

In one of the photos, the two interlace both hands, with the coach smiling at the sports insider. She’s looking down, with her hair pulled back. Both are wearing relaxed clothing. In another, the pair embrace — he goes up, around her shoulders ; she goes down, around his waist. And in another, the two lounge poolside.

“Spies said that Vrabel and Russini appeared to be visiting the hotel without anyone else in their group,” the outlet shares. They add, "Our spy spotted Vrabel and Russini again that evening on the private rooftop of one of the hotel’s bungalows, which feature glass walls offering panoramic views of the state’s famed Red Rock formations. Roofs are only accessible from the two-person bungalows, which cost up to $2,160 a night."

Both Are Married to Other People

Russini, 43, who was previously with ESPN’sSportsCenter, is married to Shake Shack executive Kevin Goldschmidt, a New Yorker and Pennsylvania native with a low profile, per ComingSoon. They share two kids together.

Meanwhile, Vrabel, 50, is married to Jen Vrabel, with their love story going decades back to their college days at Ohio State University. Per People, the couple have two sons.

Vrabel and Russini's recent interactions are now obviously raising questions and sparking affair buzz, while also causing previous interactions, like this one posted to Instagram, to resurface.

Both Are Responding

Speaking out about the published photos, Vrabel told the New York Post, per NBC Sports, “These photos show a completely innocent interaction and any suggestion otherwise is laughable. This doesn’t deserve any further response.”

Russini responded also, telling the paper, “The photos don’t represent the group of six people who were hanging out during the day. Like most journalists in the NFL, reporters interact with sources away from stadiums and other venues.”

As for The Athletic, the outlet is backing their reporter: “These photos are misleading and lack essential context,” Steven Ginsberg, executive editor, told the Post. “These were public interactions in front of many people. Dianna is a premier journalist covering the NFL and we’re proud to have her at The Athletic.”

Alysa Liu Ditches Her Alt-Grunge Look for an Unexpected Minidress and the Internet Is Obsessed

Tue, 04/07/2026 - 9:21pm

Alysa Liu just proved she can pull off just about anything.

The Olympic champion, known for her alt-grunge style, stepped out in a full '60s moment and the internet hasn't recovered.

In an Instagram post on Tuesday, April 7, the figure skater danced in an orange and yellow mini dress and tall brown boots. She added a matching orange headband, chunky bangles, and a white beaded necklace, to pull the whole look together

The occasion? A surprise video with Icelandic singer Laufey, who matched Liu's retro vibe in a white crocheted minidress, white knee-high boots, a white headband, and white earrings. The two performed an opening dance to PinkPantheress' "Stateside"—the same song the 20-year-old skated to during her free-skate routine at the Winter Olympics in February.

Fans flooded the comments of the post—which was captioned "welcome to the party"—with excitement.

“The 60s look is so good on alysa WOW,” one noted, while another shared, “I looove retro styles ahhh.”

A third wrote, “the collab we never knew we needed.”

Actor Simu Liueven chimed in, writing a simple, “crushed it.”

PinkPantheress herself dropped in with a simple "OKAAAYYYY," while the official US Figure Skating account added: "You have our attention."

Liu was equally hyped, posting "Madwoman let's gooo" on her own Instagram Story, resharing a polaroid of herself from the same day.

When Liu skated to Laufey's song "Promise" at the Olympics, it sent the 2023 track soaring up the charts. The two later met at one of Laufey's live shows, where the singer gushed over Liu in front of the crowd. "She's like the best figure skater in the world. Do you understand what this means for my 8-year-old figure skating heart?" Laufey said to the crowd. "An incredible athlete with an incredible story."

Best-Selling Author’s Hit Novel Ranked Among ‘Best Books’ of All Time

Tue, 04/07/2026 - 9:04pm

There aren't very many novels that have resonated with readers around the world quite like The Alchemist.

The bestselling book by Paulo Coelho has been ranked among the "best books of all time" on Goodreads, based on votes from readers. The recognition reflects its enduring popularity and the profound connection many have found in its message.

Originally published in 1988, The Alchemist follows Santiago, a young shepherd who dreams of discovering treasure hidden near the Egyptian pyramids. Leaving behind his familiar life, he embarks on a journey that takes him across deserts and into encounters with mentors, mystics and unexpected challenges.

Along the way, Santiago learns to listen to his heart and recognize the signs guiding him toward his destiny, what the novel calls one's "Personal Legend." The story blends elements of adventure, spirituality and philosophy, offering readers a simple yet powerful message about pursuing one's dreams.

"A Personal Legend is the reason you are here," Coelho told Oprah in 2014. It's as simple as that. You can fill your hours and days with things that are meaningless. But you know you have a reason to be here. It is the only thing that gives you enthusiasm."

The novel has become one of the best-selling books of all time, with tens of millions of copies sold worldwide and translations into dozens of languages. Its universal themes of purpose, perseverance and self-discovery have helped it reach readers across cultures and generations.

Over the years, The Alchemist has remained a staple on reading lists and a frequent recommendation among readers seeking inspiration and meaning.

"Writing means sharing," Coelho told The Guardian. "It's part of the human condition to want to share things – thoughts, ideas, opinions. I discovered very early in life that the best way for me to communicate is through my writing, but it took me years to realise that it's what I needed to do full time."

With its continued recognition on Goodreads, the novel's legacy is once again affirmed—proving that its timeless message still resonates with those searching for their own path.

1964 Ultra Classic Was a No. 1 Hit 62 Years Ago Today

Tue, 04/07/2026 - 8:51pm

Sixty-two years ago today, the global rock and roll phenomenon the Beatles topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart with their iconic song, "Can't Buy Me Love."

Released in March 1964 as a single and later featured on their third studio album, A Hard Day's Night, "Can't Buy Me Love" became an immediate smash hit. Before its U.S. release, the track saw over 2 million advance copies sold, attesting to the group's insurmountable influence and breaking a record for the highest advance sales at the time.

Once released in the U.S., the track climbed up the Billboard Hot 100 chart, holding the No. 1 spot for five consecutive weeks. "Can't Buy Me Love" notably anchored a historic Billboard record, making the Beatles the first artists to hold all five of the chart's top positions simultaneously. By April 11, the Beatles held 14 spots on the Billboard Hot 100, solidifying their unparalleled dominance in the music industry and further fueling the fire of Beatlemania.

Produced by George Martin and released via Parlophone and Captiol Records, "Can't Buy Me Love" is recognizable for its bouncy 12-bar blues progression. Notably, the song starts boldly with the chorus, engaging listeners instantly with a high-energy hook.

The track deviates from the earlier Beatles formula, moving away from multi-part background harmonies to focus on Paul McCartney’s leading vocals, a stylistic choice that would define many of their later works.

Written by McCartney, "Can't Buy Me Love" explores the idea that material items cannot purchase a person's affection. The song conveys that true, genuine connections are more valuable that possessions, a theme that continues to resonate with modern audiences.

Even though the Beatles' smash hit was released over six decades ago, fans still engage with the track through streaming platforms. On Spotify, the track has garnered over 206 million streams, affirming its longstanding legacy as a massively influential track in the development of 1960s rock and roll.

Pal died at the age of 18 in 1958, two years before being awarded his star, but his legacy continues to live on. Pal's role was later filled in subsequent films and on the TV series by his own direct descendants, including Lassie Jr., Spook, Baby and Mire, according to IMDb.

Pal's portrayal in the 1943 film also earned him a spot on the American Film Institute's list of top movie heroes in American cinema, coming in at #39.

Dan Levy Explains Why Fans of the 'Dysfunction of the Family' on Schitts Creek Will Love His Latest Netflix Saga, 'Big Mistakes'

Tue, 04/07/2026 - 8:37pm

Fans of Schitt's Creek have long been drawn to its lovable, chaotic family dynamic—and according to Dan Levy, that same emotional core is exactly what will pull viewers into his new Netflix series, Big Mistakes, which premieres on April 9.

In interviews surrounding the show, Levy—who cocreated the show with actress and screenwriter Rachel Sennott—had made it clear that, while Big Mistakes takes a darker, more high-stakes approach, it still centers on a messy, deeply human family. The series follows siblings Nicky (Levy) and Morgan (Taylor Ortega), who become entangled in organized crime—an absurd, high-pressure situation that amplifies their personal flaws and relationships.

View this post on Instagram

For Levy, this kind of dysfunction is familiar territory. Schitt's Creek told the story of the once-wealthy Rose family forced to rebuild their lives in a small town, leaning heavily on their interpersonal dynamics for both comedy and growth. But with Big Mistakes, Levy leans into a different tone, which blends family tension with real danger and moral gray areas.

"I think if they loved the dysfunction of the family, there is a whole new saga here, and I think there's a lot of love," Levy told TV Insider. "I will always have an eye out for meaningful character arcs... I love telling character stories over a long period of time, watching characters grow, watching characters come into their own, realize things about themselves, make mistakes, and I think that’s a lot of what drew people to Schitt’s Creek was, sure, it was funny, but at its heart, it was about people growing, and this is just a very, very different version of that."

Levy's acting career has been marked by historic award wins, largely driven by his work on Schitt's Creek. At the Primetime Emmy Awards, he made history in 2020 by sweeping all four major comedy categories in a single season—Outstanding Lead Actor, Writing, Directing, and Outstanding Comedy Series—an unprecedented achievement for one individual in a single year. The show itself dominated that awards cycle, becoming the first comedy to win all four acting categories alongside top series honors.

Ultimately, Big Mistakes swaps Schitt's Creek's small-town charm for criminal chaos, but retains what matters most: complicated characters, nuanced relationships, and the unpredictable ways in which families show up for each other. For fans who loved the dysfunction of the Roses, Levy's new saga promises, in his words, a "thrill ride."

Queen Elizabeth 'Loved' Dancing and Singing to This 70s Hit Song

Tue, 04/07/2026 - 8:35pm

Queen Elizabeth II’s former aide reflected on the monarch’s carefree side and revealed a song the pair loved to sing and dance to.

Angela Kelly, who worked for the Queen for 28 years as her close aide, personal stylist, and dressmaker, shared details about her high-profile job during a recent interview with Vanity Fair ahead of what would have been Elizabeth’s 100th birthday on April 21.

"Every morning, the Queen would listen to the Terry Wogan show on Radio 2. When the song ‘Dancing Queen’ came on, she loved it, and both of us would dance," Kelly said of the famed ABBA song from 1976.

Angela Kelly is seen during The State Funeral Of Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey on September 19, 2022 in London, England. Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor was born in Bruton Street, Mayfair, London on 21 April 1926. She married Prince Philip in 1947 and ascended the throne of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth on 6 February 1952 after the death of her Father, King George VI. "The Queen would move from side to side and sing. Her Majesty loved singing and had a good voice. I didn’t," Kelly continued. "I’d get carried away and be dancing all round her like I was at a disco, and the Queen would tell me to ‘move over’ because I can’t sing, and we laughed. They were moments to cherish, to see the Queen so relaxed.”

RELATED: 20 Surprising Facts About Queen Elizabeth

Kelly worked for Queen Elizabeth from 1994 until she died in 2022 at the age of 96 and dressed her for her final journey to Windsor, according to the outlet. The ladies first crossed paths in 1992 when Elizabeth and her husband, Prince Philip, visited Germany and met Kelly when she was working as a housekeeper for British ambassador Sir Christopher Mallaby. The pair got along right away, and the queen invited Kelly to apply for an assistant dresser position at Buckingham Palace. Kelly was promoted through the years, becoming a senior dresser and eventually the queen’s personal advisor, wardrobe curator, and in-house designer.

"We both knew we had trust, loyalty, and understanding,” Kelly explained about her relationship with Elizabeth, which made her “revered and feared” around Buckingham Palace. “The Queen was my best friend, and I miss her every day.”

Kelly’s influence is credited with modernizing Elizabeth’s wardrobe, convincing the monarch to experiment with shorter hemlines, bright colors, and sharply tailored sets.

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM - OCTOBER 07: (EMBARGOED FOR PUBLICATION IN UK NEWSPAPERS UNTIL 24 HOURS AFTER CREATE DATE AND TIME) Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex (Vice-Patron of the Commonwealth Games Federation) and Queen Elizabeth II (Patron of the Commonwealth Games Federation) attend the launch of the Queen's Baton Relay for Birmingham 2022, the XXII Commonwealth Games at Buckingham Palace on October 7, 2021 in London, England. "I told her, ‘Your Majesty, you have good legs. Let’s show them off,'" Kelly joked to Vanity Fair. "Needless to say, the hems on the clothes were raised."

The strategy of Elizabeth’s iconic style was meant to make her stand out in a large crowd of people. Although the queen was not “fashion-led,” she still enjoyed being hands-on with her wardrobe and “knew she had to look the part.”

"Fittings were fun,” Kelly recalled. “The Queen loved seeing the clothes being made from the beginning to the end, seeing the material. She liked the pastel and deep colors, but she preferred people to focus on her speeches rather than her clothes.”

However, Kelly remembers the queen best as a “cool granny” who loved taking her great-grandchildren “out riding or walking” and was “full of energy.”

"It was just a normal loving family, to be quite honest. If the Duke [of Edinburgh], or whoever was cooking, burned the burgers, she’d just laugh," Kelly said of Elizabeth and her late husband, Philip. "As long as they had extra to put back on, and as long as all the family were fed and watered, that was all right.”

Kelly was appointed as a Member of the Royal Victorian Order in 2006 and Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order in 2012. Her book, The Other Side of the Coin: The Queen, the Dresser, and the Wardrobe, was published in 2019, and she was appointed Commander of the Royal Victorian Order in 2023 in recognition of her royal service. Kelly left royal household service following King Charles' accession to the throne in 2022.

A piece of rock history is now on the market.

Nine months after the passing of Ozzy Osbourne, his widow Sharon Osbourne has listed their Los Angeles estate.

The luxurious mansion, featuring a Mediterranean-style design, is now on the market for a whopping $17 million, as reported by the Wall Street Journal.

The estate, situated on half an acre of land, is located in the Hancock Park neighborhood, one of the oldest and best-preserved residential districts in Los Angeles.

The property features seven bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a pool covered in hand-laid mosaic tile, a home theater, guesthouses, a home office, an outdoor area with dining space with a pizza oven, a barbecue area and a large main house measuring around 10,200 square feet.

Over the years, the Osbournes have maintained the architecture and the 20th-century design of the house despite undergoing some renovations. This includes preserving the part of the home theater with signatures of iconic celebrities such as Elvis Presley, Natalie Wood and renowned jazz singer and musician Mel Tormé.

This unique feature of the L.A mansion was originally added by its previous owner, radio host Frank Bresee.

Years Before Its $17M Listing, Ozzy Osbourne Bought This L.A. Mansion in 2015

The iconic couple acquired the estate in 2015 for $11.85 million, as mentioned by the property records.

Prior to the current listing, they initially put the property on the market in July 2022 for $18 million as they considered fully relocating to their long-time mansion in Buckinghamshire, England.

However, the listing was ultimately removed when the family’s relocation to the U.K. was delayed.

This major move by the 73-year-old host and reality star came months after Ozzy Osbourne’s passing.

On July 22 2025, the music industry mourned the death of the legendary British singer and songwriter, also known as the "Prince of Darkness.”

Ozzy Osbourne’s cause of death was cardiac arrest, as mentioned by the New York Times and The Sun. The late musician also suffered from Parkinson’s disease and coronary artery disease, as mentioned in his death certificate.

His last public appearance was on July 5, 17 days after his death. At the time, he performed his final performance with his band for a charity concert. The event raised over $190 million, which benefits various charities, including Cure Parkinson’s.

Actress Tori Spelling is speaking out publicly for the first time since it was reported she was involved in a collision with seven children in her car a few days ago. Spelling recounts parts of the harrowing experience that she and the kids went through and expresses gratitude to first responders, hospital staff, and well wishers.

In a video posted to her Instagram, the Beverly Hills, 90210 actress, who's clearly shaken up, confirms that she, four of her children, and three friends of her children were traveling by car in Temecula, California just a few days before Easter.

"The driver that hit us was speeding, was going crazy, crazy fast. We believe he went through a light," she shares. "Guardian angels were definitely with us that day because, in a split second, I looked to my right, and I saw he was coming full on, full impact into the side of our car. And I turned hard left, as hard as I could, as fast as I could to avoid as much impact on the children as possible. He spun us out."

Thankfully, Spelling explains, everyone in the car is doing okay after being treated following the collision at the Inland Valley Hospital in Wildomar, California.

Aubrey Plaza Expecting Baby No. 1 with Partner Chris Abbott

Tue, 04/07/2026 - 8:14pm

Aubrey Plaza is pregnant!

A source told People on Tuesday, Apr. 7 that Plaza is expecting her first baby with her partner, actor Chris Abbott, and is due this fall. A representative for Plaza also confirmed the news to the outlet.

“It was a beautiful surprise after an emotional year,” the source said, adding that the couple feels "very blessed."

Plaza, 41, and Abbott, 40, first collaborated on the 2020 film Black Bear before playing love interests for the 2023-2024 off-Broadway revival of Danny and the Deep Blue Sea—which was Plaza's stage debut.

“He cares but he also doesn’t care; it’s the best recipe for me for a scene partner,” Plaza told The New York Times of working with Abbott in 2023. “It’s fun and it’s also good and it’s also safe. I like to just throw things out the window also and laugh and mess around and not take it so seriously. It’s a hard combo to come by.”

“We’re both unafraid to be ugly and weird and strange,” Abbott added.

The Parks and Recreation alum's pregnancy comes a year after her husband, screenwriter and film director Jeff Baena, died by suicide in January 2025.

Plaza and Baena began dating in 2011 and married in 2021. After Baena's death, it was revealed the pair quietly separated in September 2024.

1966 Rock Classic Recorded 60 Years Ago This Week Hailed as Iconic Band's 'Most Influential Song of All'

Tue, 04/07/2026 - 8:02pm

One has to wonder: Did the Beatles know they were about to record one of the most influential songs in rock history when they stepped into the studio 60 years ago this week?

"Tomorrow Never Knows," the last track on Revolver, was actually the first song to be recorded for the album, according to the Beatles Bible, with sessions taking place on April 6, 7, and 22.

The title (which doesn't actually appear anywhere in the song) came from one of Ringo Starr's sayings, while the lyrics were inspired by the 1964 book The Psychedelic Experience by Harvard psychologists Timothy Leary, Ralph Metzner, and Richard Alpert.

In Leary's introduction, John Lennon read the words, "turn off your mind, relax, float downstream" (which, of course, became the first line of "Tomorrow Never Knows").

As Paul McCartney recalled in Anthology, the song was "definitely John's."

"Round about this time people were starting to experiment with drugs, including LSD," he explained. "John had got hold of Timothy Leary’s adaptation of The Tibetan Book of the Dead, which is a pretty interesting book. For the first time we got the idea that, as with ancient Egyptian practice, when you die you lie in state for a few days, and then some of your handmaidens come and prepare you for a huge voyage. Rather than the British version, in which you just pop your clogs. With LSD, this theme was all the more interesting."

'Tomorrow Never Knows' helped shape the sound of modern music

In the years since its release, appreciation for the groundbreaking song has only grown. From Rolling Stone to Mojo to Uncut and others, "Tomorrow Never Knows" has shown up on multiple lists of the best Beatles songs of all time — it even made #1 on NME's "The Beatles: every song ranked in order of greatness" list. As Mark Beaumont wrote, "It's possible to trace the origins of most modern music, bar rap, back to The Beatles catalogue. But 'Tomorrow Never Knows' was perhaps their most influential track of all."

"In trying to recreate the sound in Lennon’s head of monks chanting in some cosmic mountain retreat, to accompany lines cribbed from the Tibetan Book Of The Dead intended to emulate a transcendental acid high, the band experimented with loops, sampling, drone and tape manipulation, creating not just the epitome of psychedelia and exposing pop audiences to anti-materialist Eastern ideas, but effectively inventing dance music," Beaumont continued.

As for what music will sound like 60 years from now, chances are the influence of the Beatles will still be apparent. (But then again...tomorrow never knows.)

Iconic '70s Actor Ranked ‘Best Actor of All Time’

Tue, 04/07/2026 - 7:58pm

Few actors have left as profound a mark on Hollywood as Marlon Brando.

Widely regarded as one of the most influential performers in film history, Brando has been ranked the "best actor of all time" by Slash Film, a recognition that reflects both his groundbreaking technique and lasting cultural impact.

Brando first rose to prominence with his electrifying performance in the film adaptation of A Streetcar Named Desire, where he portrayed Stanley Kowalski after starring in the Broadway production. The role showcased his raw intensity and naturalistic acting style, earning him an Academy Award nomination and helping usher in a new era of emotionally driven performances.

"In Streetcar, some of the guys backstage and me, we used to go down to the boiler room in the theatre and horse around," Brando said in a 1957 interview. "One night I was mixing it up with this guy and - crack! So I walked around to the nearest hospital. My nose was really busted. They had to give me an anaesthetic to set it, and put me to bed. Not that I was sorry. Streetcar had been running about a year and I was sick of it."

He followed that breakout with a string of critically acclaimed roles, including On the Waterfront, in which he played former boxer Terry Malloy. The performance earned him his first Academy Awards win for Best Actor, and remains one of the most celebrated portrayals in film history, highlighted by the iconic "I coulda been a contender" scene.

Brando later delivered another defining performance in The Godfather, taking on the role of Vito Corleone. His portrayal of the powerful yet aging mob patriarch earned him a second Academy Award for Best Actor and cemented his place as a cinematic legend.

Throughout his career, Brando earned multiple Academy Award nominations for standout roles in films such as Viva Zapata!, Julius Caesar and Last Tango in Paris, each showcasing his remarkable range and commitment to character. He also appeared in major productions like Apocalypse Now, where his portrayal of Colonel Kurtz added another unforgettable chapter to his legacy.

Known for pioneering method acting in Hollywood, Brando brought a level of realism and emotional depth that transformed the craft. His performances were often unpredictable, deeply human and impossible to ignore.

"Movies do have the greatest potential," he said. "You can say important things to a lot of people. About discrimination and hatred and prejudice."

Today, his influence can still be seen across generations of actors. From stage to screen, Marlon Brando didn't just deliver iconic performances, he changed acting forever.

Shoppers Say Hobby Lobby's Charming New Home Essential Is 'Better Than Expected'

Tue, 04/07/2026 - 7:55pm

Creating a serene and organized living space is about more than just hiding clutter; it is about choosing storage solutions that enhance the overall aesthetic of your home. In recent years, interior design trends have shifted toward organic modernism. A style that prioritizes natural materials, soft neutral palettes, and tactile textures. By moving away from cold, plastic storage bins and toward materials like timber and woven fibers, homeowners can create an environment that feels both functional and grounded. These natural elements bring a sense of the outdoors inside, fostering a calm atmosphere that helps reduce daily stress.

The challenge most people face is finding a balance between utility and beauty in high-traffic areas like the entryway, living room or home office. Small items—remotes, keys, mail, or craft supplies—often accumulate on flat surfaces, creating visual noise that can make a room feel chaotic. Utilizing decorative containers that feature a mix of textures allows you to tuck these items away while adding a layer of sophisticated design to your shelving or coffee tables. When storage looks like a piece of art, it no longer feels like a chore to keep things tidy; instead, it becomes part of the curated narrative of your home.

1983 Hit Ranked Among '40 Biggest Drinking Songs' Became a Classic Breakup Anthem

Tue, 04/07/2026 - 7:21pm

Anytime the 1983 reggae-pop hit "Red Red Wine" by UB40 makes it onto your going playlist, odds are you have one of two things on your mind—either it's TGIF and time for a little Friday night tipsy time, or you're playing that one terrible breakup story over and over in your head again (and you want it to stop!).

With lyrics like, "Red, red wine / Go to my head / Make me forget that I / Still need her so," it's no surprise that UB40's "Red Red Wine" remains an anthem for the heartbroken, or more specifically, an anthem for drowning out the heartbreak. However, with its punchy, rhythmic beat, "Red Red Wine" certainly doesn't have to be a downer track. In fact, the song made Billboard's list of "40 Biggest Drinking Songs" so it clearly has a laid-back celebratory vibe too.

"Red Red Wine," which is featured on the 1983 UB40 Labour of Love album, is actually a cover of a 1967 Neil Diamond song. Diamond's folksy ballad-like version wasn't a chart crusher in its day, peaking at No. 67 on the Billboard 100 list in April 1968.

The UB40 version, on the other hand, became a massive international hit, topping the UK Singles Chart in 1983. And finally in 1988, "Red Red Wine" hit No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 after UB40 performed the song at the Nelson Mandela 70th Birthday Tribute concert in June 1988. The concert held at Wembley Stadium in London included a stellar lineup of performers, including George Michael, Whitney Houston, Tracy Chapman, Chrissie Hynde, Dire Straits, and the Bee Gees, among others.

Watch the official UB40 "Red Red Wine" music video, in which lead singer Ali Campbell strangely drowns his sorrows in several beers, and not red, red wine after all.

Curious about Neil Diamond's version of "Red Red Wine"? Have a listen:
