Camilla Luddington has big plans for Jo Wilson, and they involve a major promotion.

The Grey's Anatomy star, who has played the fan-favorite surgeon since Season 9, exclusively told Parade about the long-term dream she has for her character on the long-running ABC medical drama. The answer? A career glow-up worthy of Grey Sloan Memorial's biggest dreams.

"Big, big picture, like one day I need her to be chief," Luddington said, referring to the chief of surgery role currently held by Teddy Altman (Kim Raver). "I don't know what that would look like, but I want that."

The timing of Luddington's wish is striking. Raver, who has played Teddy since Season 6, is set to exit the show as a series regular after the Season 22 finale, meaning the chief of surgery position is about to open up just as Camilla is publicly campaigning for Jo to one day take it.

A Major Cast Shakeup at Grey Sloan

The reveal comes at a pivotal moment for the long-running medical drama. Grey's Anatomy was officially renewed for Season 23 by ABC in March, but the renewal arrives alongside confirmed budget cuts and the departures of two longtime series regulars. Kevin McKidd, who plays Owen Hunt, and Kim Raver, who plays Teddy Altman, are both set to exit as series regulars after the Season 22 finale. With the cast shrinking around her, Luddington's Jo is one of the characters fans are expecting to anchor whatever comes next.

The actress didn't shy away from the emotional weight of the changes. "Kim and Kevin leaving is tough," she said. "It's really hard. To lose any family member, is what it feels like."

The Chief wishlist lands after one of the most physically and emotionally brutal seasons of Jo's entire run. In Season 22, Jo suffered heart failure during her pregnancy, underwent an emergency C-section to save her premature twin girls and barely pulled through the medical crisis that defined the show's winter premiere. "I think I was dying twice," Luddington joked.

Behind the scenes, the grueling storyline coincided with Luddington's own real-life health journey. The actress, who was diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease in 2025, has been managing the autoimmune condition while juggling one of TV's most demanding shooting schedules.

As for what she wants Jo's next chapter to look like beyond the Chief dream, Luddington said honesty remains at the center.

"I would like for her to continue being honest and real in the struggle she's having with work and being a parent," she told Parade. "I think it's important to continue to show that."

Real-Life Mom Chaos

That parallel between Jo and her real life isn't accidental. The actress, who shares two kids—eight-year-old daughter Hayden and five-year-old son Lucas—with husband Matthew Alan, said her own working-mom reality can be just as messy as her character's. "I love them dearly, but I gave birth to some really fussy eaters," Luddington said with a laugh. "I'm a tired mom who can't cook. There's a lot of them hating the meals that I make."

The day-to-day chaos is exactly what led her to partner with Get'ems Squeezies, the new Gerber pouch line that lets kids enjoy real fruit-and-veggie smoothies as either a drinkable pouch or a freezable ice pop. For Luddington, the win isn't just about the snack.

Grey's Anatomy Season 23 is expected to premiere on ABC in fall 2026.

The appeal of the show lies in how each contestant responds in their own unique way.

Kumail Nanjiani is an Oscar and Emmy-nominated actor who has appeared in Silicon Valley, The Boys, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Poker Face, just to name a few. Now, he's bringing his wit and charm to a brand-new environment.

Nanjiani also marks a rare milestone for the series. He is just the third American contestant to appear on the UK version, following Desiree Burch in Series 12 and Jason Mantzoukas in Series 19. That number underscores how distinctly British the show’s tone and comedic sensibility have traditionally been. Burch, while American-born, built much of her career in the UK, while Mantzoukas became the first American comedian to travel overseas specifically to take part in the show.

The show’s expansion beyond the UK has been deliberate. Recently, Horne and Davies brought Taskmaster to North America with a live tour spanning Washington, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia and New York. These events combined an exclusive Q&A with live gameplay, inviting audience members onstage to attempt tasks while established comedians joined as special guests. Participants across the tour included names like Seth Meyers, JohnOliver and Joel Kim Booster, reinforcing the show’s growing influence among North American comedy circles. Horne has signaled that another Oscar-nominated comedian will be joining the show for Series 23, prompting suggestions of potential contestants such as Olivia Colman and Riz Ahmed.

In an exclusive clip, we get a glimpse into what Nanjiani will be like as a Taskmaster contestant as he competes in the first prize task of the series. As he submits his entry for "the thing most likely to deter people from your premises", his choice signals that he won't be shying away from being the American in the room.

The Pakistani-American comedian chose to bring a sign that reads Department of Homeland Security, suggesting he won't be shying away from commentary on recent world events while participating in the show. Nanjiani suggests that the sign itself would thwart off many intruders, though when pressed about its legitimacy, he tells them it's a fake. "I am trying to stay away from where the real signs are," he tells Davies. We'll have to wait until the episode airs to see just how many points he's awarded.

Earlier this year, Alex Horne and Greg Davies spoke to Parade for an exclusive interview and spoke about casting Nanjiani. "He was different to Jason in that he didn't destroy everything," said Horne. Davies suggested the other contestants were starstruck by the movie star. However, it's the idea that someone with stature will come on the show and be taken down a level is what appeals most to Davies. "I always find it funny when people fall into line with our rules. It always amuses me," the host said.

Chris Hemsworthis more than just an actor. The Avengers and Crime 101 action star is also a dad to three. He shares children, twins Sasha and Tristan (born in 2014) and India Rose (born in 2012), with his wife, Elsa Pataky. He recently took his brood on a scenic surfing getaway, and his fans can’t stop staring at the pictures. 

Of course, the clear blue water and sandy beach weren’t the only sights to see on Hemsworth’s family outing. The actor recently posted photos of the vacation on Instagram, and fans are certainly enjoying the scenery. If you haven’t caught on, by scenery we mean Hemsworth.

The three iconic actors are ready to go for their exclusive Parade cover story interview in the middle of a hectic press day in Los Angeles. Ever the professionals, they’re smiling and look loose. But still. Asked first how they’re getting along amid a barrage of non-stop interviews, Diaz is quick with a tongue-in-cheek answer: “Yeah, we’re best friends! Did you not see the movie?!”

That would be Outcome, their dark comedy landing on Apple TV+ on April 10. The film focuses on Reeves’ Reef Hawk, a shallow two-time Oscar-winning movie star extorted with a mysterious video that could potentially destroy his career. In trying to unmask the culprit, he reconnects with people from his past and attempts to make amends. Diaz and Bomer do indeed play his best friends, constantly trying to ground him. (The film was directed and co-written byJonah Hill, who also plays Reeves’ crisis lawyer.) 

“I think Jonah’s script made it easy for the three of us to connect,” Bomer says. “These incredible actors made it so easy and just the permissive environment of the set to just have a real friendship going on and let it be messy and imperfect at times.”

Though filming wrapped in 2024, the trio’s chemistry is still going strong. It’s evident in their at-ease body language and the way they go on long, endearing tangents with each other. During one question about their career arcs, Reeves turns to Diaz—a former model—and asks, “Did you want to be a model or were you discovered?” Answer: She was discovered at a party as a teenager. 

They’re also effusive about each other’s talents . . . though that’s hardly a surprise given their insanely impressive collective credentials. 

Here goes: Reeves, 61, has been entertaining audiences since the 1980s, back when he had just moved to Hollywood from Toronto. He boasts an A-list resume that includes comedy (Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, Good Fortune), drama (My Own Private Idaho), action (Point Break, Speed), ultra-action (the John Wick franchise) and groundbreaking sci-fi (The Matrix franchise). Since making her debut in 1994’s The Mask, Diaz, 53, has starred in hugely beloved films ranging from My Best Friend’s Wedding to There’s Something About Mary to The Holiday and voicing Princess Fiona in four Shrek movies (plus one on the way).

Meanwhile, Bomer, 48, is a classically trained actor from Missouri who broke out playing a charming con artist in the 2009-14 TV series White Collar and has since starred in The Normal Heart, The Boys in the Band and earned an Emmy nomination for his poignant performance in the Showtime limited series Fellow Travelers.

Offscreen? Diaz is a mom to six-year-old daughter, Raddix, and two-year-old son, Cardinal, with rocker husband, Benji Madden; Bomer shares three sons, Kit, Henry and Walker, with husband, Hollywood publicist Simon Halls; Reeves is in a long-term relationship with artist Alexandra Grant.

In a freewheeling chat, the trio talk about their own outcomes and more to Parade.

Parade: Cameron and Keanu, you first worked together in a 1996 indie called Feeling Minnesota. Did the time go by fast? 

Cameron Diaz: That was like my third or fourth movie. And oh my gosh, so fast. Like, don’t the years just go by fast exponentially? Now in life, it just goes faster and faster.

Matt, did you know them at all prior to filming? 

Matt Bomer: No. I mean, this is when you’re grateful that you’re working with such incredible people. They’re both icons of cinema so to just jump right into the scene and be relatable and down to [have] so much fun . . . I couldn’t ask for two actors to play best friends opposite me. It was really fun. 

Keanu, was your character in Outcome written with you in mind? There are a few similarities. 

Keanu Reeves: Maybe a little bit. I met with Jonah maybe a year or two before we started filming. I went out to his home in Malibu and had a nice visit. He was like, “Okay, I’ll talk to you later.” Then he came back with the script. 

There’s a running joke in Outcome that your character is known for being the nicest guy in Hollywood. Do you realize that’s what comes up in your Google search? 

Reeves: I mean, definitely, he took some biography of circumstances and applied it to Reef. 

Reef was also a popular child star, but none of you started in the business that young. Are you relieved about that? 

Reeves: I don’t know. I got paid when I was 16. So is that a child star? 

Diaz: Young adult!

Bomer: I was 18, but it was theater. So there wasn’t quite as much pomp and circumstance. 

Diaz: I was modeling when I was 16, and then I started doing commercials when I was like 17, 18. I turned 21 on the set of The Mask.

Bomer: I am glad I wasn’t a child star. I asked my mom to get me an agent when I was very young. I watched an episode of Geraldo and they talked about somebody having an agent. I was maybe 10, and I think I was already fascinated with movies. My mom was doing the dishes, so I asked her to get me one. She was like, “What are you talking about? Go outside and play.”

Reeves: I did feel like I was at the right age when I started. Let’s go! 

Diaz: Me too. I was like, “Get me out of Long Beach.”

Which performance inspired you? 

Reeves: I would say for me, it was Peter O'Toole. 

Diaz: I wanted to be Harrison Ford. I wanted to be Indiana Jones. He knows my love for him. 

Bomer: If you're talking about nascent stages, it would probably be E.T. It was the first time somebody my age was the protagonist in a film. So you're seeing the world through the eyes of someone my age. And I thought, “Oh, wow, you can make a movie, and someone like me can be the story.” Then I wore a hoodie and pretended to be Elliott for like a month.

You three are lifelong friends in the movie. Do you still keep in touch with a lot of your childhood pals? 

Bomer: I would say for me, yes, two or three of them in particular. Some of them are in the industry, so that helps a little bit. But I'm also on a text thread with my graduating class from drama school, and we check in almost daily.

Diaz: Really? 

Bomer: It’s only nine people. 

Diaz: That's about as many people as I talk to in a year.

Reeves: There are people I’ve known for a long time, but just from being in the industry. There is someone particular I’ve known since I was like, eight. So not like there's nobody, but I don't have a lot. 

Cameron, your bestie, Drew Barrymore is in this movie. . . 

Diaz: I've known Drew since I was 16 and she was 14. But she was hardly a childhood friend. But, yeah, I mean, I have friends that I keep in touch with. We know what's happening in each other's lives, and if anybody ever needs me, they know that I'm there for them.

All three of you started off in Hollywood in different decades. What were your first career impressions of each other? 

Reeves: When we went to go see The Mask on the big screen, it was like, holy [expletive]. What energy.

Diaz: Youth is very powerful. Youth is very powerful. 

Bomer: You were so good, I can't believe you turned 21 on that set. 

Diaz: I did! 

Bomer: Let me just fanboy for a little bit. What makes them such incredible actors is that they continually surprise me in their careers. The one thing that I really loved as a younger person was Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. But then I would see River's Edge, and then I would see My Own Private Idaho, and I'd see The Mask, and then I'd see Gangs of New York, and then Being John Malkovich. So I was constantly re-impressed in a whole new way with the choices they made.

Matt, were you watching River's Edge in a theater? That's an intense movie. 

Bomer: No, I got it from Blockbuster. Remember Blockbuster? My parents let me wander into the adult section. 

Diaz: What I loved about this movie is that even though we're all a little bit different in age, we kind of like evened out. Like, we rounded out the median. But this gentleman [Bomer] over here doesn't age up very well. 

Bomer: The beard is all silver now!

Keanu and Cameron, was there a Matt role that you really liked before working with him?

Diaz: You know what, Matt? My sadness is this: Because I haven’t watched TV for like, the last decade, I haven't really even watched anything you’ve done. But I didn’t have to see anything that you've done to know that I wanted to act with you.

Bomer: Awwww . . . But honestly, I'm not far behind you. I just don't ever watch TV or watch movies anymore. 

Why don’t you watch anything? 

Diaz: Well, I have small children. Immediately after I put them to bed, I try to get as much sleep as I can.

Bomer: That’s the good nature of a film. I know what I’m getting A-to-Z in a two-to-three-hour experience. 

Diaz: This is the classic. If I end up watching anything with my husband, I fall asleep on the couch, and then he binge-watches the whole thing in one night, and I have to go back. . .  

Bomer: Yes, staggered on the episode count. I've been there!

Diaz: He finishes it, so I never get to go back to anything. So I just don't do it anymore.

Reeves: I have binged in the past, whatever.

Keanu, you made your Broadway debut in Waiting for Godot last year. How do you still challenge yourselves? 

Diaz: I feel like both of you thrive on stage.

Bomer: I mean, it’s terrifying. But it's also the most thrilling. Do you say the same?

Reeves: That first preview with the first live audience, holy fuck. That was more intense internally than opening night. By opening night, we had, like 15 shows under our belts. That first one in front of an audience, like, “Oh, man.”

Diaz: I couldn’t do it. Oh, God, I don't have any experience in the theater at all. 

Reeves: What does that have to do with anything? 

Bomer: You could do it. The question is if you want to do it. 

Diaz: I don't even know what it would take to do it. I don't know what the experience is. I'd have to really, like, think about it, what time in my life I could do it because of the kids.

Reeves: But your kids are going to be . . . they’ll always be your children, but they're not going to always be little. 

Diaz: I know that's true. Maybe 10 years from now, I’ll be like “Y’all peace out!” But I’ll be in the south of France.

Cameron, has your oldest watched any of your films yet?  

Diaz: Gangs of New York. I let her go down the aisle at Blockbuster like Matt did. Yeah, she's old enough, but she’s not interested.

Outcome really underlines the dangers of social media. Do you post a lot? 

Diaz: I don't post at all. Somebody else posts for me. 

Bomer: That's nice. I do it when it's a necessity. I try to have enough engagement that it doesn't feel inauthentic. But, look, I've been a victim of the void before and sought validation in those avenues. I can't lie. I'd like to hope that I’ve transcended that.

Diaz: Matt, you have teenagers. 

Bomer: They're not really into social media which I'm so grateful for. I mean, they dabble here and there, but they're not constantly scrolling or whatever it might be. My twins especially, are very old souls, so I just don't think they sought validation that way.

A song plays at the end with the lyric “How lucky can one man get?” Despite all your successes, do you think there’s an element of luck involved?  

Reeves: Can we really say no to that? 

Diaz:  I mean, how do we know anything? How did we get here? Who created Earth? Where are we going? Like, I don't know how we got here. I know what I did to participate.

Reeves: I mean, luck is definitely winning a lottery. 

Bomer: Could karma be involved? That adds a kind of layer. Maybe you're on a path you don't even know you're on.

Reeves: Karma is an intentional direction. And then one selfhood is the proposition of where you place yourself exactly. I want to be an artist and make movies. But we work in a collaborative art form, exactly.

Diaz: So you have to be present and contribute. So we all have a willingness, right? Your willingness to participate. But does my modeling qualify?

Reeves: That’s randomness giving you opportunity. Matt, you went to school with an intention. But you still had to get cast. 

Bomer: I was lucky and fortunate—or unfortunate. I tried to be prepared if I was given an opportunity. 

Diaz: There's a lot of people who are prepared when they are given an opportunity, whether or not they get chosen or not. If they don't get chosen, are they unlucky? I always believed that if I didn't get a job, it's because it wasn't my job. The jobs that I got, those were my jobs. So I never thought of it as, like, Oh, I got lucky. I thought it was meant for me.  

What do you think is the message of the film, anyway? Live by the outcome of your decisions? 

Diaz: It does show people's choices. Reef Hawk made the same decision over and over again. He was not engaged in life. He didn't grow as a human. He wasn't evolving. He was in his bubble, and everybody inside of it was reflecting back to him what he wanted to see, so he never had to grow.

So the movie is really showing how if you don't engage in life fully, it can become small and isolating. And you don't grow, and you have regrets and end up in a very sad, shallow, isolated place. I know people who've never done any work at all, and you can see it, and their life reflects it. So I think that this is just the story of a man who is being confronted with his choices and his regret. The story is told with humor, but it can be tragic, too.

Created by Lynch and Mark Frost, the series stars Kyle MacLachlan as FBI Agent Dale Cooper, who was investigating the murder of homecoming queen Laura Palmer, played by Sheryl Lee.

Twin Peaks showcased a groundbreaking pilot episode titled "Who Killed Laura Palmer?" that recorded an impressive 34.6 million viewers. That is approximately 33 percent of all TV-watching households in the U.S.

Thanks to its massive popularity, the ABC show reached new heights as "Twin Peaks fever" spread internationally, especially in the U.K and Japan, creating major buzz and a devoted global following.

The first season, with eight episodes, not only received positive receptions from the public but also overwhelming attention from major award bodies.

Among these are the 14 nominations at the 1990 Primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series (Kyle MacLachlan), Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series (Piper Laurie), Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series (Sherilyn Fenn), Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series and Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series among others.

Out of the 14 nominations, the ABC series secured only two wins: Outstanding Editing - Single Camera Production and Outstanding Costume Design for a Series.

In addition, Twin Peaks continued its cultural phenomenon by earning three Golden Globe wins.

During the 1991 Golden Globe Awards, the cast celebrated Best Television Series – Drama, followed by Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Drama, won by Kyle MacLachlan and Piper Laurie for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television.

Beyond the awards, Twin Peaks was also hailed as one of the “Best TV Shows of All Time” by Rolling Stone, landing in the top 16 next to HBO’s The Larry Sanders Show.

Following its original two-season run, Twin Peaks ended in 1991 but made a comeback 26 years later with Twin Peaks: The Return, also known as Season 3, which aired 18 episodes.

1. Marigolds

Since marigolds thrive in warm soil, as Harryson says, May is an ideal time to plant them. She adds that these annuals have a long blooming season that runs May through October and will provide color and beauty to the landscaping the entire time. She recommends sowing marigolds in full sun and deadhead them regularly to encourage continued blooming.

2. Zinnias

With their bursts of color and cheerful appearance, zinnias are the perfect spring flower. Harryson explains that zinnias are fast-growing annuals that love heat and mature quickly from seed. “They are a favorite of pollinators, make excellent cut flowers and will continue blooming until the first frost,” she says, adding that they enjoy full sun in an area with good airflow. 

3. Sunflowers

Harryson says that sunflowers require warm soil to germinate and will grow quickly in sunny conditions, and those are elements that prevail in May. “They bring joy to the landscape with their bright blooms, and are a powerhouse plant for native bees, butterflies and other pollinators,” she says. “They also provide seeds for birds and other small wildlife.” Harryson recommends planting sunflowers in full sun with adequate spacing. 

4. Cosmos

In kaleidoscopic shades of pink, magenta, white, red, yellow and orange, cosmos are beautiful to behold, and you can’t beat that they’re heat-tolerant and easy to grow, as Harryson says. Planting them in May means that you’ll enjoy them as a summertime flower, since they bloom from July to October. “Plant in full sun and avoid over-fertilizing, as this can reduce blooms,” Harryson says. 

5. Basil

Now that the balmy temperatures of May have arrived, it’s time to plant basil, which Harryson calls a “warm-weather herb that struggles in cool conditions and thrives in heat.” She adds that basil matures quickly into a bushy form that will provide enough leaves for making pesto and topping other snacks or dishes. Be sure to plant your basil in full sun with plenty of space.

6. Tomatoes

“Tomatoes require warm soil and mild nights to establish successfully,” Harryson says, making May a great time to plant them. For care, Harryson recommends that you plant them deeply, set up a support system for them early and plant an extra tomato plant near the compost or in the far corner of the yard to keep wildlife (such as squirrels) out of the garden and provide a spot to relocate tomato hornworms, which mature into hummingbird moths.

7. Peppers

“Peppers are heat-loving plants that establish best once temperatures are consistently warm,” Harryson says. She says that you can plant peppers in full sun, but be sure to avoid overwatering them, since they are fairly drought-tolerant. And be patient as they take time to establish. 

8. Cucumbers

Plan to add cucumbers to your garden in May, since cucumbers “can germinate quickly and grow rapidly in warm soil, and make a great snack,” Harryson says, adding that you should provide a trellis for support and harvest them regularly. 

9. Okra

“Okra thrives in hot temperatures and will grow vigorously,” Harryson says. “Planting in May will give roots time to establish before the heat sets in. Grow okra with peppers for daily harvests that can be air-fried together as a quick snack.” To care for okra, Harryson suggests planting it in full sun in well-drained soil with adequate spacing for proper air flow.

10. Eggplant

Harryson says that eggplant thrives in the warm weather of May and beyond and grows quickly once established. Just be sure to give eggplants lots of space, Harryson recommends, and they may require staking to support the weight of the fruit.

As a girl growing up in Mississippi, Oprah Winfrey had a crush. Not on a classmate, on Paul McCartney. She collected Beatles cards, hung their poster on her bedroom wall, and by her own account, stood on her stairs every morning at 14 and said out loud, 'Think of me. Think of me. Think of me.'

He never did. Or so she assumed.

Winfrey told the story Tuesday night during what she called a farewell visit to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, one of his final episodes before the show's May 21 series finale. The anecdote she shared was equal parts funny and genuinely sweet.

Years after those teenage mornings on the stairs, Winfrey landed an interview with McCartney. Her first question to him: 'All those years I was 14 and I was thinking of you. Did you ever once think of me?' His answer: 'Every day, babe. Every day.'

The story, she admitted, gets better.

In December 2010, both Winfrey and McCartney were honored at the 33rd annual Kennedy Center Honors ceremony in Washington, D.C., joining Merle Haggard, composer Jerry Herman, and choreographer Bill T. Jones as that year's recipients. President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obamapresided over the ceremony, and the night drew Julia Roberts, Jennifer Hudson, John Travolta, and a roster of rock legends to pay tribute.

Winfrey was seated next to McCartney. When the all-star finale broke into 'Hey Jude', performed that night by James Taylor, Mavis Staples, Steven Tyler, and others, McCartney reached over and took her hand.

'That was the dream I'd had all those years,' she told Colbert.

She never married him, she acknowledged with a laugh. But sitting beside him in that hall, holding hands while a room full of luminaries sang the song he wrote in 1968, was close enough.

Winfrey appeared on The Late Show to celebrate Colbert ahead of his finale, calling it a 'bittersweet' goodbye. She noted that her own show ended more than a decade ago and that she is, by her account, happier now than she has ever been, a message she offered as something like encouragement to Colbert. Midway through the interview, she turned the tables entirely, sliding behind his desk and interviewing him instead, asking what he most wants to release before the show ends.

It was a moment that fit both of them. Two longtime television hosts, one wrapping up, one long past it, trading stories about what the work meant and still means.

The girl on the stairs got her moment. It just took about 45 years.

As Kara Wallace, Chief Marketing Officer at Royal Caribbean, tells us, the name itself is a nod to the ship's ambitious scale. "As we thought about the name of the fourth Icon Class ship—following in the footsteps of Icon, Star and Legend of the Seas—Hero felt like a natural extension of the game-changing Icon Class," Wallace says. "It will raise the bar with even more records and iconic ways for families to make lifelong memories."

According to Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean, the goal was to push the boundaries of the multi-generational trip. "Icon Class truly set a new standard for family vacations, and Hero of the Seas takes that vision even further," Bayley says. "With more water, more thrills and more choices for all ages, we’re continuing to build on what our guests love about Royal Caribbean."

Is Hero of the Seas actually bigger than the other Icon ships?

While they all belong to the same class, Hero is about evolution rather than just sheer footprint. It maintains the massive scale of its sister ships (roughly 250,800 gross tons and a capacity for over 7,600 guests), but it "levels up" the density of the experience. The primary difference is the shift from "standard" amenities to more interactive, immersive spaces.

How is the pool deck different from other ships?

If you felt Icon had a lot of water, Hero goes even further with nine distinct pools—the most ever at sea. The standout new addition is Coconut Cove, a Caribbean-inspired pool steps from the Lime and Coconut bar. Unlike the more secluded pool areas on Star or Legend, Coconut Cove is designed for social, high-energy vibes with in-water loungers.

The adults-only Hideaway has also been revamped. It now features two pools instead of one, including what Royal Caribbean claims is the largest swim-up bar at sea and an in-water DJ booth. Even the Swim & Tonic bar has been expanded based on guest feedback from earlier ships to offer more elbow room.

What exactly is the Ultimate Family Treehouse?

We’ve seen the "Townhouse," but the Ultimate Family Treehouse is a three-deck vertical playground that sleeps 12. Wallace explains, "Evolving from the Ultimate Family Townhouse we first introduced on Icon of the Seas, this new accommodation features a private rooftop terrace with a whirlpool and a two-deck teen space with a dedicated game room." Unlike previous versions, the Treehouse uses a vertical "hideout" design with a spiral staircase, giving kids and teens a sense of total separation from the main living areas.

What are the room options for multi-generational families?

Beyond the Treehouse, Hero is decked out with more options for large groups. This includes the three-level Ultimate Family Townhouse (with direct access to the Surfside neighborhood), Surfside Family Suites and Family Infinite Ocean View Balconies. For those looking for high-end luxury, the Royal Loft Suites and Icon Loft Suites offer massive square footage and prime ocean views.

What neighborhoods and entertainment are returning?

Signature Icon Class favorites are back, including the Royal Promenade with its floor-to-ceiling views and The Pearl kinetic art sculpture. The open-air Central Park returns with more than 30,500 real plants, as does the AquaDome Market food hall, which will feature four brand-new stall concepts. Entertainment-wise, the ship will host new productions at the Royal Theater, the marquee AquaTheater and Absolute Zero—the largest ice arena at sea.

Does it have the same waterpark as Icon?

Yes and no. It still features Category 6, the largest waterpark at sea, but the slide lineup has been updated. Hero will debut two new family raft slides, including the first-ever funnel raft slide at sea. While Icon focused on speed and drops, Hero is prioritizing shared "group" thrills so families can scream together on the same raft.

What are the new "supper club" dining options?

With a record 28 dining venues, Hero introduces the Orleans Parish Supper Club. While other ships have high-end dining, this venue is a full sensory throwback to the early 20th-century French Quarter, featuring live jazz and gourmet Cajun/Creole dishes.

The ship also introduces Royal Railway–Hero Station. This is the third iteration of the immersive "train" dining concept. Unlike the Wild West theme on Utopia, Hero Station will use updated technology and new storytelling to "transport" diners to entirely different global destinations via digital "windows" and live actors.

Which fan-favorite restaurants are returning to Hero of the Seas?

While Hero is grabbing headlines with its new supper clubs and immersive "train" dining, much of the draw for repeat cruisers is the return of the heavy hitters. Royal Caribbean is bringing back the core "neighborhood" dining concepts that made the first Icon Class ships a hit, ensuring that even with a record-breaking 28 venues, the fan favorites remain front and center.

And so, when he became the swing vote between old and new school, he was eager to get some revenge. And so, two days after crafting a blindside, Kamilla experienced one of her own, sent out in shock.

Genevieve Mushaluk

Genevieve Mushaluk kicked off her second season of Survivor in the exact opposite style of her first. As someone who felt she had no connections by the end of her time on Season 47, she was quick to make early connections, even if her closest one had to leave the game within the first four days. The lawyer began to build her winning case not only with allies, but with idols, as she found not one, but twoBillie Eilish Boomerang Idols, building cross-tribal connections as well.

Unfortunately, there was one particular person who Genevieve could not connect with: Aubry Bracco. When Aubry told her she was scared of working with her, it put her on edge, and the two quickly turned into rivals. It didn’t help that the two spent every single day of the game together, their tension continuing to simmer. Things finally boiled over once they had the chance to finally go to Tribal Council. The issue for Genevieve is, not only did she not have any allies in her corner, but Aubry had the only other idol that she didn’t find. She tried everything to get out of the corner she was backed into, including playing her Shot in the Dark. But, alas, it was game over for Genevieve.

Colby Donaldson

It’s astounding to think that Colby Donaldson spent half of his life on our screens. And it’s that reverence and passion that brought the Season 2 fan-favorite back after 15 years away. Considering the unhappiness he had his last time out, Colby was eager to “find the joy” in Survivor 50. And we saw a moment emblematic of that in his arc with Rizo Velovic. While initially visibly annoyed by the “RizGod,” he grew to respect him, seeing the 26-year-old version of himself that kicked off this entire experience back in 2001.

Something Colby could be grumpy about, however: Losing his vote. When Colby lost a duel to Savannah Louie, he had no idea it would make his game crumble like a set of precariously stacked blocks. Colby faced his first vote at the merge, but with no say in the matter. And, despite his foot injury, the others felt he had a leg to stand on strategically, the leader of an emerging old-school alliance. So they took out the old-school legend, but it wasn’t without its fair share of tears. Indeed, the entire Tribal Council was simultaneously a celebration and a mourning, as the old-school players discussed both how much this show has meant to them for decades, and how they’ve inspired those who came after them.

Queen Elizabeth reportedly had a final wish for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, claims a royal author.

The Daily Mail published an excerpt from a new book by royal author Robert Hardman, who wrote in his new book, Elizabeth II: In Private. In Public. The Inside Story, revealing the monarch had plans to create happy memories with her descendants.

The queen had been looking forward to seeing her great-grandchildren at Balmoral Castle during her usual summer stay in 2022. She had spent nearly every summer at the royal Scottish retreat, making the stay a beloved family tradition.

Hardman wrote, "The queen wanted all the great-grandchildren to come up to Balmoral at some point over that summer, even if the Sussexes might not be able to make it." The author referenced Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who did not attend the annual royal summer retreat.

"'She wanted to make sure that they all had a really happy memory of her," Hardman wrote.

By June 2022, the monarch appeared to be unwell, Hardman wrote. She completed several key engagements in London, and appeared at the royal jubilee to wave to the crowd on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

The author wrote, "No one had stood on this balcony, waving and being waved at, more often than Elizabeth II. Ninety-five years on from her debut as a tiny child in the reign of George V, she went back through the French windows for the very last time."

Throughout the remainder of the summer, Elizabeth spent her time with her family, and according to Hardman, tied up loose ends. He believes she knew that she was unwell, but the public at large did not as "her exact medical condition has never been revealed."

He added, "Those closest to her will only say that she had 'a number of things' in the late summer of 2022. Whatever the exact cause, she was well aware of her medical prognosis, and it had been enough to encourage her to tie up various loose ends."

In a final public appearance, Elizabeth met with Liz Truss on September 6, after the latter became the United Kingdom's Prime Minister. Hardman wrote, "Were an animator to have drawn a bubble emanating from her head, it might have said: 'Job done.' She had sailed through her jubilee and had now put the country back on an even keel."

Queen Elizabeth died at Balmoral Estate on September 8, 2022. She was 96.

During a recent episode of his Try That in a Small Town podcast, Aldean opened up about being inspired by Alabama, founded by cousins Randy Owen and Teddy Gentry in the late '60s.

Aldean said he is such a fan of the influential group, that he considers them to be his version of The Beatles.

"With Alabama, it's a different thing with those guys for me," Aldean said during the March 30 podcast episode. "That's my Beatles."

"For people who love The Beatles [and find that] they kind of changed the way they played music and all those things, that's what Alabama is for me," he added.

Going on to explain what he loves about Alabama's music, Aldean said their sound is "like a fusion" of southern rock and country.

"[Their music] had a lot of the things I loved about southern rock and a lot of the storytelling and lyrics and things like that that I loved about country music," he stated, adding, "So those guys have always been it for me."

Aldean definitely isn't alone in being an Alabama mega-fan, as the group also has a massive array of No. 1 hits in their music catalog. They have topped Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart 33 times between 1980 and 2011 with hits like "Southern Star," "High Cotton," "Can't Keep a Good Man Down," "'You've Got' the Touch," "Face to Face," "There's No Way," "She and I," and "Forever's As Far As I'll Go," among several other chart-toppers.

A concert staple nestled into greatest classic rock song lists, the track was written by Foreigner’s guitarist, Mick Jones, and lead singer, Lou Gramm — this we know — but when it comes to the song’s origin story, things get fuzzy.

According to Jones, inspiration for the song came from a single soaked fan.

“I think it was in Cincinnati,” Jones says, via Songfacts. “We'd gone to the arena for a sound check, and it was pouring down rain, and there were a bunch of fans waiting at the door when we went in. When we came back for the show later on, all that was left was one lonely fan, a young guy waiting out there in the rain, soaked to the skin.”

Jones invites the kid backstage, watches his eyes light up, and is so inspired he writes a song about him. As for Gramm, though, American Songwriter says he claims inspo came from his own experiences as a young lad trying to catch shows featuring his role models, like Jimi Hendrix. 

Either way, the now-infamous hit about a rock star dreamer and his life-changing guitar is a timeless banger. 

Released in October 1981 in the U.K. and January 1982 in the U.S., the third single off the band’s fourth album, appropriately named 4, really hit home with the band’s fanbase. Cultivating their sound under new management and the dawning of a new decade, "Juke Box Hero" helped broaden their popularity even more.

The song peaked at No. 26 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 3 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock charts. It was a massive success, with the record hitting No. 1 in August 1981 and staying there for 10 whole weeks. Gramm even titled his 2013 autobiography after the song, saying it’s his favorite to do live.

Maple bourbon bacon is having a moment right now: it’s featured prominently on a new limited-time menu at Burger King via the Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper, the Maple Bacon, Egg, & Cheese Croissan’wich, and the Candied Maple Bacon Burrito Jr.

But if you’d rather skip the drive-thru and enjoy a savory and sweet flavor profile at home, Oscar Mayer has you covered with its latest launch. In partnership with Evan Williams Bourbon, Oscar Mayer is unveiling a new maple bourbon bacon, its first bacon innovation in five years.

The thick-cut bacon is finished with a signature 12-hour slow smoke and features subtle notes of vanilla and caramel from the barrel-aged Kentucky bourbon, though, fair warning, the salt point is a bit high on the bacon, so if you’re pairing it with a burger, season appropriately. 

“While we have been crafting delicious bacon for 90 years, Maple Bourbon Bacon is an exciting new chapter for our bacon portfolio and shows consumers that we are thinking about bacon differently,” said Anna James, Brand Manager for Oscar Mayer, in a statement shared with Parade. “With the bacon category growing and accounting for one-third of our business, we are leaning into bold, trend-driven flavors our fans want, bringing new energy to a beloved breakfast classic.”

Max Stefka, AVP Global Whiskeys at Evan Williams, agrees, stating that “some flavor pairings just make sense, and Bourbon and bacon is one of them. Partnering with Oscar Mayer on Maple Bourbon Bacon brings together two iconic flavors in a bold and unexpected way, delivering a sweet-and-smoky twist that celebrates the craftsmanship behind our Bourbon.”

Oscar Mayer will keep the tradition going, with plans to roll out a new variety each year through limited-edition launches, and potentially even adding some of those items into its permanent portfolio.

The new product will be available at retailers nationwide later this month, alongside two new Oscar Mayer products perfect for grilling season: beef and pork franks, and cheesy smokehouse stuffed hot dogs.
