Florida Georgia Line is back! At least that's the buzz around the country music world.

The iconic duo — comprised of Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard — ignited reunion rumors on Tuesday, June 2, as fans were quick to notice subtle social media activity on their previously defunct accounts.

The band's official Instagram and Facebook profiles updated their profile photos to an image that reads "FGL LFG" — likely meaning "Florida Georgia Line, Let's F--king Go." Their Instagram bio has the same six letters.

Fans flooded the "Cruise" artists' comments section for more info and to share their excitement for the possibility of a reunion tour.

"We are sooo back!!!!" one fan wrote.

"GIRLIES GET READY LETS GOOOOOOOOO" another yelled.

"Should we be expecting a reunion tour!? 🫣" a third asked.

Another shared a gif of a scene from "The Office" showing Michael Scott shouting, "Oh, my God! Ok, it's happening!"

While the band has yet to confirm anything, their website has also been updated with the new logo and a link to sign up for announcements.

Billboards were also spotted with a similar logo popping up around Nashville.

When fans texted the number on the billboard, the auto-response read, "Turns out, some things are just better together. Much more to come. FGL LFG."

Are Florida Georgia Line Performing at CMA Fest?

Fans are convinced the duo will make a surprise appearance at CMA Fest on Friday, June 5.

According to Country Minute, another billboard was spotted in Nashville ahead of the big weekend. The signage had four emojis: an orange, a peach, the Spotify logo, and a house.

"Those symbols match the teaser Spotify posted on socials. This is going to be one of those history making moments," the site shared.

The event is scheduled to take place at Blake Shelton's Ole Red bar on Broadway.

Florida Georgia Line Hints at Reunion

Hubbard hinted at a reunion during the red carpet of the ACM Awards last month.

"We have been toying around and flirting with the idea of playing a handful of shows next year, and that gets us both excited," Hubbard told Entertainment Tonight.

He continued, "It's been a really fun season of healing…We've been hanging out, laughing, cutting up, goofing around, it just feels like the old days. We're just trying to soak it up, make the most of it, not rush anything."

And the seasonal Independence Day-themed treat—available for a limited time only—isn't the only new cookie dough dropping for summer. The brand additionally shared the news of three Chocolate Chip Remix flavors hitting grocery shelves: Oatmeal Chocolate Chip, Inside Out Cookie with White Candy Morsels, and the most anticipated so far, Brown Butter Chocolate Chip.

"Start finding these in stores nationwide soon!" the caption on a June 2 upload revealed.

Fans were quick to share reactions to the new cookie news.

"I want to try them all!! ❤️🔥," one wrote, with another agreeing, "I need to try them all! 😍"

And while your first thoughts may turn to losing access to healthcare, or else not having built up enough of a nest egg for early retirement, experts warn that it may actually be your brain that faces the biggest challenges when you retire before the age of 65. A New Report Says There May Be a Connection Between Early Retirement and Cognitive Decline

An April 2026 report from the NBER (which was revised in May 2026) says that there is evidence that suggests that people who retire prior to the age of 65 could experience an increased rate of cognitive decline.

According to the findings, it looks like men between the ages of 51 and 64 are most at risk, due to the fact that this age group is most likely to be forced into early retirement due to layoffs or economic shifts.

Why Does This Cognitive Decline Happen

According to Dr. Christina Zech, PhD, MBA, and Happiness Coach focused on measurable quality of life and evidence-based wellbeing, early retirement in and of itself isn't an automatic pathway to cognitive decline, but instead what early retirees are replacing their 9-5 jobs with.

"Leaving work can remove daily mental stimulation, structure, challenges, and social interaction," she says. "However, retirement itself is not the problem. Two people can retire at exactly the same age and have completely different outcomes." While she says one may decline mentally, another person could remain cognitively sharp for decades. "The difference is often what they do with the years that follow."

How Can You Prevent Cognitive Decline

Because the decline seems to happen due to a loss of stimulation, Dr. Max Doshay, PsyD, a Clinical Psychologist and Co-Founder & CEO of KMN Psych, says the best way to stave off cognitive issues starts with keeping your mind active.

"Engaging in learning a new skill, volunteering for causes that are important to you, developing or maintaining strong relationships with family members and friends, participating in regular exercise, and pursuing mentally stimulating hobbies all contribute to your ability to remain engaged," Dr. Doshay says. "I would advise retirees to establish a consistent daily schedule to help them feel a sense of accomplishment each day as well as allow them time for their own personal interests and hobbies."

Dr. Zech adds that research also suggests that simply traveling or occasionally looking after grandchildren may not automatically provide enough sustained challenge or purpose, so it's important to expand your activities to something beyond that.

When Should You Retire to Avoid Cognitive Decline

Given the link between early retirement and cognitive decline, it seems only natural to ask at what age is the best time to retire if you want to avoid this situation. According to Dr. Doshay, there isn't a magic number that prevents the onset of cognitive decline. "More important is what one does with one's time once they are retired," he reiterates.

That being said, both experts agree that staying engaged in the world around you is the key to staying healthy, physically and mentally, in retirement. "The goal should not simply be retiring later," Dr. Zech says. "The goal should be building a life worth waking up for after retirement."

It's something of an unwritten rule in the larger entertainment industry to avoid criticizing those who recently passed away, regardless of how controversial their reputation might have been earlier in their lives.

Though most people tend to avoid speaking out against these controversial celebrities following their death, Val Kilmer's former director on 2008's Conspiracy isn't holding back in his outspoken dislike for the late Top Gunactor.

According to Entertainment Weekly, 58-year-old filmmaker Adam Marcus recently posted on social media about his view of Kilmer, most especially the difficulty he had working with the actor in the critically panned 2008 thriller.

“#MicroIntellectMonday to that time when I directed that guy. The guy who played Iceman and Doc Holiday. You know the one,” Marcus wrote on Threads. “Here’s me and the Putz working it out on the set of Conspiracy. So yeah, that happened.” 

Perhaps anticipating some pushback from fans of Kilmer one year after his death from pneumonia, Marcus defended his comments by acknowledging the personal animosity he held for the actor all these years later.

“And to any of you rolling your eyes because of the whole ‘don’t speak ill of the dead bulls**t,’ f**k that,” Marcus bluntly said. “[If] this guy did one-tenth of what he did on my set today, he would have been cancelled in a blink.”

“Worst human being I’ve ever known… and that is really saying something,” the director finished by saying. Marcus went on to delete these posts shortly after making them public on Threads.

Throughout his career, Kilmer acquired a reputation for his difficult and demanding nature, something multiple directors and Kilmer himself acknowledged.

In the 2021 documentary Val, Kilmer specifically said, “I have behaved poorly. I have behaved bravely. I have behaved bizarrely to some."

“I deny none of this and have no regrets because I have lost and found parts of myself that I never knew existed," the Tombstone star continued. "And I am blessed.”

Jennifer Lopezis shutting down romance rumors with her most recent rom-com co-star Brett Goldstein.

"There's never a time when I am seen with somebody or working with somebody where they don't try to put me with the person," Lopez said of during an appearance on the Today show on Tuesday alongside Goldstein while promoting their Netflix film, 'Office Romance.'

When pressed a bit further by host Savannah Guthrie, Lopez blatantly confirmed that the two are "not dating," however Goldstein acknowledged that "if you stand near her, that's what happens," in regards to the rumors.

"She's the best actress in the world and she can have chemistry with a bin," he said. "When we first met on the Zoom it was instant, like we were laughing it was easier, it was like 'okay this is gonna be great.'"

Lopez, who has shared the screen with Matthew McConaughey, Owen Wilson, and Ralph Fiennes as love interests, possibly started the speculation herself as went as far to say that Goldstein is her "favorite on-screen kiss" during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live.

A source also told People recently that the two have "flirty" and "genuine" energy together, but denied that the two were an official item.

“Her flirty energy with Brett is genuine," but added that she's “in a great place on her own right now though and doesn't need a relationship to feel happy.”

Off-screen, J.Lo has been busy as her twins, Max and Emme, just graduated high school and will be off to college in the fall.

Per People, "she's looking forward to taking a special trip with the kids before they leave for school," a source told the outlet. “It's an emotional time for her, but she's incredibly proud of them."

The Goo Goo Dolls have announced a major upcoming festival appearance.

On Tuesday, June 2, the '90s rock icons revealed they would be taking the stage at iHeart Radio Music Festival 2026 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The performance is set for Friday, Sept. 18, with Capital One Pre-Sale allowing fans to purchase tickets starting Wed. June 10 at 1PM ET.

The official public sale will kick off a few days later on Friday, June 12, at 2 pm ET on AXS.com.

Country icon Kenny Chesney, BTS, Cardi B,Benson Boone, Major Lazer, Muse, Weezer and Zara Larsson are among the performers at the annual iHeart Music Festival, with more performances to be announced in the coming weeks.

The fall festival is one of iHeart’s largest national programming initiatives that brings together live performances with radio, streaming and digital.

This, however, isn't your only chance to see the Goo Goo Dolls live this year, as the band will be performing at a few other festivals amid a full summer headlining tour with special guests, Neon Trees, running from July through Sept.

In addition to iHeart's festival, Goo Goo Dolls will be appearing at Sea.Hear.Now Festival 2026.

The band—featuring lead singer John Rzeznikand bassist Robby Takac—announced in Dec. that they will be kicking off their tour in Lincoln, Calif. in July, before making stops in Boise, Idaho; Milwaukee, Wis., Pittsburgh, Penn.; Tampa, Fla.; Charleston, S.C.; Richmond, Va., and more before wrapping up in Uncasville, Conn., in early September 2026. 

There's been plenty of momentum for the '90s rockers, who have seen their romantic rock anthem, “Iris,” reclaim a spot on Billboard’s Rock Streaming Songs. 

Earlier this year, they also revealed that they released a music video for their hit, "Better Days," to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their eighth studio album, Let Love In, while a deluxe edition celebrating this milestone will be released on July 24.

Fans attending the iHeart Festival or the upcoming tour can expect to hear some of the band's signature hits like "Slide" and "Name," or crowd favorites such as "Black Balloon."

As for "Iris," their defining '90s anthem, released in 1998 for the City of Angels soundtrack, Rzeznik recently told Geniusthat his "favorite part of the song is the slide guitar solo, which I wanted to play," though it ended up being played by session guitarist Tim Pierce, which Rzeznik admits made it much better.

“We were lucky enough to work with a guy named Tim Pierce. When I did it, it sounded like a bunch of cats fighting,” he confessed, noting, “And when he did it, it was just this gorgeous, lush thing, you know?”

Not all songs released on an album get notable recognition from fans when it's first released. In 1965, the Beach Boys' Brian Wilson saw an opportunity with a previously released album track that he felt could become a commercial success, and it was.

"Help Me, Rhonda" is inarguably one of the best songs to have been released in the summer of '65, but it wasn't that way at the start. The track was released as part of their album The Beach Boys Today! and got little attention. It was also under a different title spelling: "Help Me, Ronda." A few months later, Wilson revisited the track and felt like it had star potential for the group.

Wilson reworked the track with a different arrangement, slightly different lyrics, and with Al Jardine singing the lead vocals. "Help Me, Rhonda" was instead released as its own single in early April and skyrocketed on the charts. It became a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in late May and held the spot for two weeks. It became their second chart-topper since "I Get Around" was released in 1964.

The breakup track's lyrics focus on a man who's attracted to a woman and learns she's found someone else. As a result, the man asks a woman named Rhonda to help him forget about her. According to The Washington Post, Wilson confirmed that Rhonda isn't a real person. Mike Love has joked that the name was made up for the track because many women at the time had the same name.

According to American Songwriter, Wilson stopped touring with the band after having a nervous breakdown on a flight to Houston. A year later, Wilson thought about the type of songs he and the band wanted to create, and soon revisited "Help Me, Rhonda."

“The whole year after the flight to Houston, I kept thinking about what kinds of songs I should be making and whether there were any limits to how a pop song could sound. I couldn’t really think of any. I knew I had to explore that sound more. I had to go further in that direction, bring more orchestration and different kinds of arrangements into our music," he said.

The backstory behind the recording of "Help Me, Rhonda" also involved a heated argument. While recording the track, Wilson's father, Murray, was in attendance despite having been dismissed by the group as their manager for almost a year. A real, unedited tape of the recording session exists where Murray criticizes the band, is constantly talking, and Wilson's response to his father.

"I wasn’t happy. I had to take off my headphones and talk to him. ‘We would like to perform in an atmosphere of calmness, Dad,’ I said. I said something else also, over and over again: ‘Times are changing.’ It was never easy to have him around, but it wasn’t easy to be without him either," said Wilson.

Thanks to Wilson, "Help Me, Rhonda" became one of the Beach Boys' most well-known tracks in their career.

How did Howie Mandel get his start? 

In the late 1970s, Mandel was living in his hometown of Toronto, Canada, working as a carpet salesman, when he attended a comedy show at a club called Yuk-Yuks that would, in hindsight, change the course of his life forever. “I was just fascinated,” he told Ability Magazine. He ended up returning to the club for amateur hour the following Monday “without any thought as to what might come of it,” he explained, and “found a new passion in life.”

A few months later, while vacationing in California, he came across the Comedy Store on Sunset Boulevard and decided to do a set there, too. “If I made a fool of myself it was okay because I was 3,000 miles from home,” he recalled. As luck would have it,  a producer from Make Me Laugh, an old comedy game show in which contestants were tasked with trying not to crack up while a stand-up attempted to make them do just that, was in the audience and hired Mandel to be on the program. 

“So I went back to my regular job, at a carpet place, and after that Make Me Laugh episode aired, I started getting calls from Merv Griffin and Mike Douglas to come out and do shows,” Mandel told Ability. “Diana Rosssaw me on Merv Griffin and hired me to be her opening act. I thought, ‘I love doing this. Why not do it full-time?’ So I took the plunge.”

Following his appearance on Make Me Laugh, Mandel continued doing stand-up, including as an opening act for David Letterman. But his particular brand of prop-heavy improvisational comedy, which famously included putting a rubber glove over his face, sometimes alienated him from his comedy peers. 

“In their view, I didn’t put a lot of time and work into [my standup], so I didn’t deserve the success that fellow comics saw me getting,” Mandel told Vulture. “I was getting killed for using a lot of silly props. … [But] it’s just as hard to come up with a prop or look at a prop and find something to say alongside it. Mandel’s salary for Deal or No Deal was never made public, but the show was an indisputable success and likely infused Mandel's bank account with plenty of cash.

Interestingly, Mandel nearly passed on the show despite usually saying yes to everything. "I went into Deal or No Deal kicking and screaming,” he told Billy Corgan on the singer’s podcast, “The Magnificent Others" (via People).

“And not only because of what I thought being a game show host would be perceived [as], as far as 2005 with what the landscape was for people who [hosted], but also because I didn't understand how you could make an hour of television of having people pick a case and then me, say ‘open the case.’”

His wife convinced Mandel, who was ready to throw in the towel as a comedian due to poor ticket sales, to take the job. “She said, ‘Just go do it, and it doesn't matter if it's embarrassing,’” he recalled. “‘Just go do it. Just be busy, be amongst people, try to be creative.’” 

Now Deal or No Deal is one of his best known credits.

Mandel is an executive producer on the spinoff, but he is not its host. 

“People ask me why [I] didn’t host it and I say, ‘Because they shot it right at the equator.’ It’s like 100 degrees and there’s snakes and spiders," he's explained. "Sofia [Vergara], who I’m a good friend of, said ‘Send Joe [Manganiello, her ex-husband].’ So I did.”

What did Howie Mandel get paid for his book? 

In 2009, Mandel gave insight into his struggles with Obsessive-Compulsive Disease and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in his memoir, Here's the Deal: Don't Touch Me. It’s unclear how much Mandel made on the frontend or backend for the book, but it was a bestseller, so that presumably means good things for his earnings. 

“It’s a really honest look at who I am, the issues I deal with, and what I’ve done,” Mandel said of his memoir. “When I was first approached about writing it, I thought it would be fun; I have a lot of short funny stories to tell. But when I got farther along, I knew it had to be honest. I’ve always had this — it’s part of who I am, so I talk a lot about ADHD and OCD in the book. It’s full of those honest, embarrassing moments that make up everyone’s life — work, home, relationships — it covers the whole gamut.”

Does Howie Mandel still do stand up?

He does. However, around the time he landed Deal or No Deal in 2005, he was planning to retire from comedy. “I was in the midst of retiring, and when I say retiring, it was like, I wasn't going to go out on the road anymore. I wasn't selling tickets,” he said on “The Magnificent Others” podcast. “I was getting kicked in the nuts, my soul was being crushed every day. It was just embarrassing.”

But the successful NBC show revived his career and these days, Mandel continues to perform live. “The one thing that I always come back to, and always continue to do, is stand-up, because there are no boundaries to what I can do,” he told Boca Magazine. “There are no marks to hit, no lines to recite, there’s no commercials to throw to. Anything could happen. To that end, we should say don’t bring the kids because I don’t edit myself either.”

"If your lunch is not properly balanced, it can often lead to poor snack choices in the afternoon and overconsumption at dinner," Zumpano tells Parade. "Energy levels tend to dip around lunch, which is another reason it is essential to provide your body with good nutrition to get you through the afternoon and early evening."

The ‘Healthy’ Lunch Staple To Re-Think, According To Registered Dietitians

"Wraps often get treated like the 'healthier' choice, but that is not always accurate," explains Dr. Chris Mohr, Ph.D., RD, a fitness and nutrition advisor for Garage Gym Reviews.

People may think that "one wrap" is better than "two slices of bread" (here's your reminder that carbs give you energy and are not the devil). Yet it's important to dig a bit deeper when comparing the wraps and bread.

"Compared with bread, many wraps are larger and denser, so they can have more calories, carbs, sodium and additives than two slices of bread," Dr. Mohr says. "They may also have less fiber, especially if they are made mostly with refined flour, which means they may not be as filling or as helpful for blood sugar as people expect."

Indeed, it's important not to over-generalize in the "wraps vs. bread" food fight.

"The difference between wraps and bread can vary greatly depending on the type, size, thickness, type of flour used and other ingredients used, so it's hard to make a comparison," explains Roxana Ehsani, MS, RD, CSSD, a board-certified sports dietitian.

For instance, a large whole-wheat tortilla has 33 grams of carbs, while a small one has 15 grams. One slice of wheat bread has 14 grams of carbs (but two have 28 grams).

Why Wraps Aren’t Always ‘Healthier’ Than Bread

Dr. Mohr explains that many of the differences stem from how wraps and breads are made. "Wraps are made to be soft, flexible and strong enough to hold fillings without tearing, so they often need added oils, gums or other ingredients to create that texture," he says.

He adds that a higher wrap density can mean they contain more flour than you might expect. "For health, the biggest issue is not the wrap itself, but assuming it is automatically lighter or more nutritious without checking the label," Dr. Mohr says. "Some wraps are much larger and can pack several hundred calories and almost an equal number of carbs. This isn't always 'bad' per se, but awareness is key." 

Speaking of labels: Those additives (like palm oil), excess sodium and refined flours you may see on an ingredient label for wraps? "Breads also have the potential to carry these ingredients," Zumpano says. "Label reading and checking the ingredients is key."

One way to avoid additives is to head to the bakery rather than the bread aisle.

"Your bakery breads and homemade breads and wraps will have the least amount of ingredients and will likely also go bad much faster," says Sophia Friedeborn, MS, RDN, LDN,the clinical dietitian and Diabetes Prevention Program lifestyle coach at Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic.

How To Choose a Bread (Or Wrap) for Your Health

Ehsani shares that 100% whole wheat is 100% the way to go.

"Whole wheat bread tends to contain more dietary fiber than other varieties," she says. "Whole wheat retains the entire grain, the bran, germ and endosperm, which means you're getting more fiber, B vitamins, iron and antioxidants compared to white or refined breads [and wraps]."

She adds that you can find high-fiber, low-carb, and high-protein wraps, but study the nutrition and ingredient labels (and your own body).

"These wraps may contain more added ingredients, too," Ehsani tells Parade. "Some high-fiber wraps may also cause GI discomfort, bloating or gas for people."

Also, you'll want to consider your personal long-term health goals.

"If you have high blood pressure or hypertension, your focus may be to find breads and wraps that are lower in sodium," Friedeborn states. "If you want to lose weight, you may reach for a lower-calorie bread or wrap. But if that bread or wrap doesn’t have any fiber in it, you may find that it won’t keep you full for very long and then experience more cravings later on."

She says that a wrap with more fiber can help lower cravings.

3 Tips for Building a Healthier Lunch

Besides investigating whether that wrap is really healthier than bread, registered dietitians share that there are other ways to make a nutritious lunch. Here are their three top tips for making a healthier lunch.

1. Add color

"Eat the rainbow" isn't just a slogan—it's a strategy with real benefits.

"Add plenty of veggies to your sandwich to add vitamins, minerals, dietary fiber and antioxidants," Ehsani states. "Veggies also add plenty of crunch."

Peppers, romaine lettuce and more than one tomato are excellent ways to add some crunch and nutrients to your sandwich.

2. Find your power protein

Zumpano suggests opting for lean meats or fish, such as leftover chicken or turkey breast, or salmon or tuna.

"You can also include a homemade egg, tuna or chicken salad with an olive oil-based dressing," she adds. "Avoid processed meats or deli meats. These have been linked to certain cancers, heart disease, diabetes and obesity."

3. Get some satisfaction

Friedeborn encourages people to ensure their lunch hits the spot.

"Satisfaction is largely overlooked in the dieting spaces, which tends to leave people with an unending pit of 'hunger' after just eating," she says. "It is so important that we eat nourishing foods, but nearly as important is that we actually like what we are eating and take the time to enjoy and appreciate it too."

Friedeborn says some people may want a certain texture. Adding cucumber to a sandwich or toasting whole-wheat bread can make it crunchier. You may want moisture—sauces can help you there. Also, make sure you take the time to enjoy the meal.

"Many times, we are looking at what we may be able to add to a meal to enhance the nutrition and enjoyment of that meal," she says. "But sometimes slowing down during a meal, taking a few moments to pull out the different flavors you are tasting and expressing gratitude for the meal, is all that is needed to help make the meal more satisfying."

Amaya Espinal has a brand new smile.

The Love Island USA winner, known to fans as "Amaya Papaya," revealed her smile makeover in a new interview with People, sharing that she recently had veneers placed by New York City-based cosmetic dentist Dr. Nick Mavro.

Espinal said the change has already had a major effect on the way she feels.

"It was a small difference, but it made a big difference in boosting my confidence level. I haven't stopped smiling ever since," Espinal told the outlet.

The reality star explained that her new career influenced her decision to update her smile. After winning Love IslandUSA Season 7 and becoming one of the show's breakout personalities, Espinal said she wanted a smile that felt more symmetrical and helped her feel more confident while speaking in public.

According to People, Espinal worked with Mavro after being introduced by a mutual friend. She was already familiar with his work before her time on Love Island and said she "always knew" she would want to work with him.

Mavro told the outlet that he had a specific vision for Espinal's smile. He said he wanted to lengthen her teeth, give her upper lip more support, and make the color slightly brighter.

The dentist also explained that cosmetic dentistry is not about creating the same look for every patient.

"Smile design is never about a 'perfect smile,'" he said. "It's about the right smile for each patient, based on their features and natural movement."

A Confidence Boost After 'Love Island'

Espinal first became a fan favorite on Love Island USA Season 7, where viewers embraced her humor, vulnerability and loved her memorable "Amaya Papaya" nickname. She later won the season with Bryan Arenales.

Since then, Espinal and Arenales have broken up and Espinal has continued building a career outside the villa. She has appeared at media events and opened up about her life after the show.

Mavro said he has noticed that Espinal's confidence in how she carries herself has increased after the smile makeover.

"Seeing Amaya's initial reaction in the chair was one thing, but what I've loved most is watching her on the red carpet and at other media-related events with her new smile, speaking and smiling more freely than before," he said.

For Espinal, the procedure itself was easier than she expected.

"The process was way easier than expected and completely painless," she told People. "Dr. Mavro made the experience really comfortable for me and took his time to explain the process to me so I had a clear idea of what was going to happen."

The reveal comes as Espinal continues to embrace her post-Love Island chapter, and she sounds more than happy with the results.

Brian Wilson’s 1977 release caught listeners’ attention for its country-leaning sound, but The Beach Boys co-founder reportedly didn’t fully agree with that interpretation.

“Honkin’ Down the Highway” was a song from The Beach Boys Love You album. The release stood out for its quirky, stripped-down sound, marking a distinct departure from the band’s earlier polished production style.

The song stood out among others on the LP, including such as "Johnny Carson," "The Night Was So Young," "I Bet He's Nice," and "Ding Dang." The album was cited as one of Wilson's favorites in 2002, as seen in a YouTube video clip.

In the caption of an Instagram post celebrating the song on Brian Wilson’s official page, the singer and songwriter reflected on his thoughts about the track. An image of the single’s cover, along with a social media caption, provided additional details about the song.

"Today in 1977, the Beach Boys released 'Honkin’ Down the Highway,' taken from their The Beach Boys Love You album. Brian said the song was influenced by country music 'to a certain degree. I remember when I wrote that I was thinking 'truckin’ down the highway,' just some kind of a country western kind of idea.' The actual song itself wasn’t that country, though.”

The post continued, "Al Jardine sang lead, with Brian playing grand pianos, clavinet, ARP String Ensemble, and Minimoog bass, with Dennis [Wilson] on drums and Billy Hinsche on electric guitars. Brian, Dennis, and Billy also sang the backing vocals. The B-side was “Solar System.” On this one, Brian sang lead and backing vocals and played all instruments, including grand and tack pianos, Hammond organ, ARP String Ensemble, Minimoog, snare drum, and tubular bells. Al, Mike [Love], and Dennis also contributed backing vocals."

In an interview with Goldmine Magazine, Jardine discussed the day The Beach Boys recorded that song.

"I was up in Big Sur, Brian just called me and said, 'Come on down. I've got a song for you to sing, and can you be here?' And I said, 'Of course.' It was just real simple."

Jardine concluded, "And we all had to do our background parts anyway. But he had me in mind to tackle the lead, let's put it that way. Just like 'Help Me, Rhonda,' he had my voice in his head. He could take our individual voices and turn them into instruments."

In a 2000 interview with Caroline Now! Brian Wilson called the Love You album "one of the best we have ever made. My favorites are 'I Wanna Pick You Up' and 'Ding Dang.'"

He added, "It's funny because now people are beginning to see that album as a classic. It was quite revolutionary in its use of synthesizers."

The Beach Boys Love You is included in the band's latest compilation box set, We Gotta Groove: The Brother Studio Years.

For many music fans, “Doctor My Eyes” remains one of the most recognizable soft rock songs of the 1970s. 

The track launched the recording career of singer-songwriter Jackson Browne and became an enduring radio favorite. What many listeners may not know is that the song was inspired by a real eye condition that temporarily left Browne barely able to see while he was writing it.

Released in 1972 on Browne’s self-titled debut album, “Doctor My Eyes” reached No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the biggest hit from the record. Years later, the song found chart success again through a cover version by The Jackson 5, making it a rare case of a song becoming a hit twice in different markets.

Before becoming one of the most respected songwriters in rock music, Jackson Browne built a reputation writing songs for other artists. Born in Germany to American parents and raised in Los Angeles, he became active in the Southern California folk scene as a teenager. He later worked in New York as a staff writer for Elektra Records and contributed songs to artists including Nico.

After returning to Los Angeles, Browne began working on material for what would become his debut album. One of those songs was “Doctor My Eyes.”

In a later reflection on the song’s creation, Browne revealed that the initial idea came during a period when he was suffering from a severe eye infection.

“During the writing process, my eyes became infected and badly encrusted. I could barely see. I didn’t know what was wrong with them,” Browne said, per WSJ.

He sought medical treatment and eventually recovered, but the experience sparked the central image that would drive the song.

“My eye trouble was the initial inspiration for the song’s lyrics. But as I wrote them, the eye issue became a metaphor for lost innocence and for having seen too much.”

Although the title suggests a straightforward visit to a doctor, Browne said the song evolved into something much deeper than that.

“This song is not literally about going to the doctor to get my eyes fixed.”

Instead, the lyrics explore the emotional impact of witnessing life’s hardships and losing youthful idealism.

At first listen, “Doctor My Eyes” sounds upbeat thanks to its lively piano riff and energetic rhythm. However, the lyrics tell a different story.

The song follows a narrator who has experienced years of fear, disappointment and emotional struggle. Rather than celebrating life, he questions whether seeing too much of the world has left him unable to feel.

The song also featured an impressive lineup of musicians. Jesse Ed Davis provided the electric guitar work and memorable solo, while Russ Kunkel played percussion and drums. Leland Sklar handled bass duties, and David Crosby and Graham Nash contributed backing vocals.

When “Doctor My Eyes” was released as a single in 1972, it exceeded expectations. The song climbed from No. 80 to No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became Browne’s first major hit. It also reached No. 4 in Canada and helped establish his debut album as a commercial success.

Despite the song’s growing popularity, Browne admitted he was caught off guard by hearing it on the radio.

“One day after the single reached the top 10, I returned to L.A. from the road. The girl I was seeing picked me up at the airport.”

“As we drove up La Brea Ave., she said, ‘Watch this.’ She turned on the radio and ‘Doctor My Eyes’ was playing.”

“It was so surreal to hear one of my songs that way.”

The song’s story did not end there. In 1972, The Jackson 5 recorded their own version for the album Lookin’ Through the Windows. While it did not chart in the United States, the cover became a Top 10 hit in the United Kingdom, peaking at No. 9.

That achievement gave “Doctor My Eyes” a second wave of chart success and introduced the song to a new audience beyond Browne’s original recording.

More than five decades after its release, “Doctor My Eyes” remains one of Jackson Browne’s signature songs. What began as a response to a frightening eye condition evolved into a thoughtful reflection on experience and emotional resilience.

Owain Rhys Davies, an actor best known for his role on Twin Peaks, has died at the age of 44.

The news was announced by his brother, Rhodri Davies, in an emotional Instagram post.

“It is with profound sadness that my father and I share the news that my brother, Owain, has passed away,” he wrote. “This news will come as a great shock to many."

Rhodri further pointed out that the family has a lot of questions as it pertains the actor's cause of death.

 “While there are still questions that remain unanswered regarding the circumstances of his death, our understanding at this stage is that Owain passed suddenly, naturally, and peacefully," he continued.

Davies played Agent Wilson in three episodes of Twin Peaks: The Return, also having roles in the Netflix series The OA as well as films Alice Through the Looking Glass and A Serial Killer’s Guide to Life.

The official Twin Peaks Instagram page also released a statement following news of his death.

"Thank you for being a part of the world of Twin Peaks, Agent Wilson," they wrote.

The Welsh National Theatre also paid tribute, writing, "Owain was a remarkable talent whose work enriched Welsh theatre and screen, and whose contribution to the performing arts will be remembered by audiences, colleagues, and friends alike. His passion, creativity, and dedication to his craft made a lasting impact on the cultural life of Wales. The Welsh performing arts community is poorer for his loss, and we can only imagine the many more stories he would have gone on to tell. Cysga'n dawel, Owain."

Many fans also paid tribute.

"Such a tragic loss. Owain brought so much depth to his roles. Remembering his talent and the impact he made on many," one person wrote.

"Very sad news. Rest in peace to Owain Rhys Davies, gone too soon. Prayers to his family and loved ones during this difficult time," another person commented.

On this day 60 years ago, one of the most iconic songs of the 1960s became a chart-topper.

Frank Sinatra's "Strangers in the Night" climbed to the No. 1 spot on the UK Singles chart, becoming the beloved singer and actor's second number one in the United Kingdom. His first UK No. 1 single, "Three Coins in the Fountain," hit the top spot in 1954.

A month after peaking at No. 1 in the UK, "Strangers in the Night" reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 and was Sinatra's first No. 1 pop hit in 11 years. The track's critical success presented Sinatra's music to a new generation.

In 1967, the song won three Grammy Awards, including Record of the Year; Best Vocal Performance, Male; and Best Arrangement Accompanying a Vocalist or Instrumentalist.

Despite it becoming one of his most famous tracks to date, Sinatra famously detested "Strangers in the Night." According to Far Out, the musician wouldn't be too pleased when fans would request the song, and he would introduce the track at live performances by saying, "Here’s a song that I cannot stand.”

In the 2006 biography, Sinatra: The Life, authors Anthony Summers and Robbyn Swan wrote that the hitmaker loathed the single to the point of calling it a "piece of shit."

However much Sinatra hated it, the song is much-loved around the world and even became the inspiration behind television and film. Fan-favorite cartoon series Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! was inspired by the legendary song. TV executive and producer Fred Silverman commissioned the show for CBS, and he credited "Strangers in the Night" for cementing the Great Dane's name.

"I'm listening to music, and as were landing, Frank Sinatra comes on, and I hear him say 'Scooby-do-be-do'. Its at that point I said, 'That's it, well take the dog—well call it Scooby-Doo," he explained to Archive of American Television. "We’ll move him up front and it’ll be 'the dog show'."

While not as heavy with cancellations as NBC, CBS still brought some beloved shows to an end throughout the 2025–2026 TV season.

There were only four cancellations compared to NBC’s 10, and most of them were primetime shows. In fact, one of the cancellations was more of an ending, after it was renewed for an eighth and final season during the previous TV year.

Fans of The Neighborhood knew that the eighth season would be the last. The writers had time to craft an ending, even though it wasn’t their decision to bring the series to an close. When deciding to give the series a final season, the president of CBS Entertainment at the time, Amy Reisenbach, said, “the show's loyal fans deserve a proper farewell season full of the trademark humor and heartfelt moments that are synonymous with the series.”

‘The Late Show’ Among Shocking CBS Cancellations

The other cancellations came as a shock, especially one in particular. The Late Show with Stephen Colbert came to an end, with the announcement made before the new season had even really started. It was met with mixed reactions, with some praising CBS due to Stephen Colbert’s attacks on President Donald Trumpand others angry as it appeared that freedom of speech was being violated.

CBS argued that it was a cost-saving measure, as late-night TV has been on the decline in recent years. Not only did the network decide not to renew Colbert’s contract, but it also decided not to fill the slot with another late-night series.

As for the primetime cancellations, they weren’t as surprising as The Late Show. Both DMV and Watson were canceled after their first and second seasons, respectively.

Many Watson fans had already feared the worst when the series moved from the Monday night slot in the fall to the Sunday slot in the midseason. While the first season had been pretty steady on Sundays, the second season moved to the final slot of the night, which has historically been a struggle for TV shows as audiences don’t tune in live as much anymore.

As for DMV, the freshman comedy likely didn’t pull in the viewership. However, CBS has yet to confirm the full reasons for the cancellations, but that’s usually the case when it comes to the end of the primetime main season.

The United States has updated its travel advisory for citizens traveling to Mexico. Reissued on May 29, the advisory includes new guidance for Americans heading to the country for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Regions in the country are designated on a risk scale from Level 1, “exercise normal precautions,” to Level 4, “do not travel.” While the country overall remains at a Level 2 status, with the U.S. Department of State urging travelers to "exercise increased caution due to terrorism, crime, and kidnapping," six Mexican states are labeled as Level 4 risks.

According to the State Department, safety threats are widely varied throughout the U.S.’s southern neighbor. The advisory warns against all travel to Level 4 states Colima, Guerrero, Michoacán, Sinaloa, Tamaulipas, and Zacatecas. The six states all pose a risk of crime and terrorism, while Guerrero, Colima, and Tamaulipas are additionally flagged for threats of kidnapping. “U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents have been victims of kidnapping,” the advisory reads.

Jalisco, home to popular tourist destinations Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara, is among the Level 3 states. The advisory urges citizens to reconsider travel to the state due to “terrorism, crime, and kidnapping threats.” It notes that some violence related to terrorist groups, cartels, gangs, and criminal organizations has affected travel hotspots. “In Guadalajara, battles between criminal groups have happened in tourist areas,” the advisory reads.

The majority of states and cities remain at Level 2, including major tourist destinations such as Baja California Sur, Quintana Roo, and Nayarit. At this level, the State Department tells citizens to “exercise increased caution” but does not recommend skipping travel entirely. 

Only two states are labeled as Level 1, “exercise normal precaution,” areas: Yucatan and Campeche. 

What World Cup Travelers Should Know

The latest advisory includes the U.S. Embassy and Consulates in Mexico’s guide for visitors attending the FIFA World Cup in June and July. Over 5.5 million visitors are expected to descend on the country’s three host cities for the tournament, which takes place every four years. According to the guide, all transportation, lodging, and tickets should be booked well in advance of arrival in Mexico. “Expect big crowds, heavy traffic, and longer travel times,” it reads.

Those driving to World Cup matches are advised to “do your research to avoid dangerous pitfalls that Americans have faced on Mexican roads” and to carefully study the specific warnings for every state on their route.

The embassy instructs soccer fans to remain vigilant upon arrival, writing, “Stay alert and aware of your surroundings. Beware of pickpockets and other scam artists!” 

“Do not hail taxis on the street. Use trusted ride-sharing apps or book taxis through your hotel or at an authorized taxi stand,” the guide adds.
