The right accent can breathe new life into any yard. If you're looking for a new way to liven up your outdoor space this season, a lighting refresh could be just the thing. While there are many ways to illuminate a garden, few offer the charm and cozy cottage appeal of Patiopia Firefly Lights. These twinkling accessories brighten up the yard while adding their own unique flair to your home.

Normally $14 at Amazon for a pack of two, the set is currently reduced to just $9. A single frond of lights features 10 compact LED bulbs set on flexible stems that fan outward. That's a fun detail that lends them the illusion of little glowing fireflies. They even sway in the breeze, adding to their aesthetic appeal.

While they exude an elevated vibe, they're easy for anyone to use. The lights are powered entirely by solar energy, charging during the day and switching on automatically in the evening. After about six to eight hours of sunlight, the fireflies can stay illuminated for approximately 12 to 14 hours. Because they don't rely on wiring or outlets, they're an appealing option for anyone who wants to implement some garden lighting without the fuss.

They're designed to withstand different conditions and maintain their integrity through constant use throughout the year, too. The lamp body and stainless steel posts are resistant to rust, while the waterproof design protects the lights from rain and temperature fluctuations. Whether you set them along a walkway or place them directly onto a flower bed, you can be confident they'll stay in great shape.

That makes them versatile enough to use elsewhere, too. Many shoppers stated that they love using the fireflies to give their yards a festive touch through the holiday season. During the warmer months, they make a lovely decorative addition to a deck or patio, and can make outdoor entertaining feel even more special.

The Patiopia Firefly Lights have the potential to completely transform your yard. With their eye-catching aesthetic and playful design, they're perfect for giving your home an affordable makeover just in time for spring.

I'll See You on the Ice: Bryan Cranston Reacts to 'Heated Rivalry' Matching His Record

Fri, 04/10/2026 - 10:39am

Bryan Cranston sat down with Stephen Colbert on The Late Show to promote the Malcolm in the Middle revival, and got a piece of news he clearly hadn't seen coming.

Colbert informed Cranston that Breaking Bad's 'Ozymandias' had been tied for the distinction of being the only television episode in IMDB history to earn a perfect 10 out of 10 rating. The show that matched it? Heated Rivalry, the HBO Max hockey romance that became a word-of-mouth phenomenon last December.

Cranston's initial reaction was pure disbelief. 'I heard that I could take that to my grave for a while,' he said, before Colbert delivered the news. Then, asked if he had a message for the Heated Rivalry cast, Cranston kept it brief: 'I'll see you on the ice.'

View this post on Instagram

For more than a decade, 'Ozymandias' had stood completely alone. The penultimate episode of Breaking Bad's fifth season, written by Moira Walley-Beckett and directed by Rian Johnson, aired September 15, 2013. It lands at the moment Walter White's empire finally collapses. Hank Schrader is dead before the first act ends, and what follows gives no relief to anyone on screen or off. Cranston, Anna Gunn, and Aaron Paul deliver performances that critics still cite as among the finest in television history. The episode won Walley-Beckett the Emmy for Outstanding Writing in a Drama Series. Rolling Stone ranked it the greatest TV episode ever made. On IMDB, hundreds of thousands of users gave it a perfect score, and for over twelve years, no other episode came close.

Heated Rivalry runs on a different track entirely. The six-episode HBO Max drama, adapted from Rachel Reid's 2019 novel by creator Jacob Tierney, follows two rival professional hockey players, Canadian Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) and Russian Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie), whose public feud conceals a years-long secret romance. The show premiered November 28, 2025, built its audience rapidly through word of mouth, and earned a 96% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Related: Bryan Cranston Fought 12 Years for 'Malcolm in the Middle' While the Creator Kept Saying No

Its fifth episode, 'I'll Believe in Anything,' aired December 19, 2025. The hour is dense: Ilya's father dies, he confesses his love for Shane entirely in Russian (leaving Shane unaware of what was said) and another player publicly kisses his boyfriend on the ice. Viewers flooded IMDB with perfect scores, and the episode climbed to 10 out of 10, making it only the second episode in the site's history to reach that mark.

Both scores have since settled below a perfect 10. IMDB ratings shift as votes accumulate, and 'Ozymandias' later became the target of a review-bombing campaign tied to a separate fandom dispute. But the historical record stands: two episodes, from two shows separated by more than a decade and almost everything else, each earned something no other episode ever had.

Heated Rivalry Season 2 is expected in spring 2027 on HBO Max. Malcolm in the Middle: Life's Still Unfair premieres April 10 on Hulu.

Is Sheila Leaving ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’?

Fri, 04/10/2026 - 10:36am

The Bold and the Beautiful’s Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) was dealt a blow when she learned her husband, Deacon (Sean Kanan), was having an affair with Taylor (Rebecca Budig).

Instead of going all scorched-earth like Sheila has in the past, she showed her vulnerable side with Deacon. When he declared he loved Taylor, Sheila didn’t get unhinged. She simply walked away in a very unlike-Sheila move.

Sheila claimed she was leaving but declared that this was not the end for her and Deacon. The reformed villain vowed she would be back, and they would be together.

Sheila's latest move has brought up the question of whether she and her portrayer, Brown, are leaving The Bold and the Beautiful.

Neither Brown nor The Bold and the Beautifulhas indicated that Sheila’s time on the CBS soap has come to an end. In fact, executive producer Brad Bell just teased Sheila’s growth during an interview with Michael Fairman TV at the launch of the BBTV app.

“Sheila has grown as a person. She’s not as psychotic as she once was,” he declared. Bell also confirmed that he hopes to keep the character around for a long time because of Brown and her amazing talent. “Kimberlin Brown is that good!” he expressed.

As for Brown, she previously admitted she loves playing Sheila and hopes to continue doing so for years to come.

In 2024, when Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) stabbed Sheila, leading to her death, it was believed the character was gone for good. Even Brown thought it was the end of the run for her and Sheila.

"It's a tough place for me to be in right now; I'm not going to lie about this,” the soap star told TV Insider.

Two months later, the decision to have Sheila die was undone, and Brown was back in the mix. The move even surprised Brown.

“I didn’t see this coming, quite honestly,” she expressed to Deadline.

All of this bodes well for Sheila not leavingThe Bold and the Beautiful. Even if she is off the canvas for a while so that the writers can develop the Taylor and Deacon relationship, Sheila will be back at some point.

Sheila has been terrorizing people in the soap world for decades. The character started in an epic villain run on The Young and the Restless in 1990 before crossing over to The Bold and the Beautiful in 1992.

Thanks to Brown, Sheila has become a villain that fans love and hate.

These 4 Birth Months Manifest Abundance Later in Life

Fri, 04/10/2026 - 10:35am

Not everyone finds their footing early in life. Some people take a longer path, learning through trial and error and a great deal of patience. Interestingly, these slower starts often lead to a more solid foundation in the end. When prosperity arrives later, it tends to be more enduring. Ultimately, there’s a lot to be said for gradual growth. Quick success may fade, but development that takes time usually has deep roots. For those born in the following four birth months, abundance isn’t hurried; it’s cultivated, shaped, and ultimately earned.

The First 3D Color Movie Debuted 73 Years Ago Today With This 'Horror Delight'

Fri, 04/10/2026 - 10:14am

The so-called 3-D craze in cinema skyrocketed in popularity during the 21st century for a bit — remember? These days, however, it's more about IMAX and maybe even 4DX.

The film buffs enjoying these current movie-theater experiences may not know that 3D storytelling on the big screen dates all the way to the 1950s, believe it or not.

Exactly 73 years ago — on April 10, 1953 — the horror filmHouse of Wax opened at New York’s Paramount Theater and was the first movie from a major motion-picture studio to be shot using the three-dimensional film process.

It also happened to be one of the first horror films to be shot in color, HISTORY.com reports. Check out the visually astounding promotional poster that was released at the time below.

'House of Wax' (1953) promo. (Getty Images)

The 3D filming process reportedly involved using two cameras, or a single twin-lensed camera, to represent both the right and the left eye of the human viewer, per HISTORY.com. Images from the two cameras were then projected simultaneously onto the screen, and moviegoers watched House of Wax through what are called "stereoscopic" glasses to see the actual 3D effect.

Directed by Andre De Toth, House of Wax is a remake of Mystery in the Wax Museum (1933). Here's the film's official synopsis:

Wax sculptor Henry (Vincent Price) is horrified to learn that his business partner, Matthew (Roy Roberts), plans on torching their wax museum to collect on the insurance policy. Henry miraculously survives a fiery confrontation with Matthew and re-emerges some years hence with a museum of his own. But when the appearance of Henry's new wax sculptures occurs at the same time that a number of corpses vanish from the city morgue, art student Sue Allen (Phyllis Kirk) begins suspecting wrongdoing.

Though it received negative reviews at the time of release, critics have since showered House of Wax with praise. The "horror delight," as Rotten Tomatoes calls it, now sits at an impressive 93% on the popular site's "Tomatometer" based on all the critics' ratings that ever been published.

Amex Is Opening Three New Lounges at These Major U.S. Airports—And They're All a Little Different

Fri, 04/10/2026 - 10:10am

If your favorite part of traveling is the pre-flight ritual of a quiet corner and a high-end cocktail, American Express just handed you three more reasons to keep that Platinum Card in your wallet.

The company announced a massive expansion of its industry-leading Centurion Lounge network, adding new locations in Boston and Charlotte while giving one of its oldest fan-favorites in Dallas a much-needed glow-up.

For those of us who treat the lounge as a "sanctuary before the sky," these upcoming spaces are designed to be more than just a place to sit—they’re becoming a destination in their own right.

The crown jewel of this announcement is the brand-new Centurion Lounge coming to Boston Logan International Airport (BOS). Slated for a 2029 debut in Terminal C, this won't be your average waiting area.

We’re talking about a massive, two-story flagship that will feature Logan’s first-ever open-air rooftop terrace. Imagine sipping a locally inspired drink while watching the planes take off with a fresh harbor breeze—it's the ultimate way to bring a bit of Boston’s coastal charm into the travel experience.

For travelers who are usually racing against the clock, the new Sidecar by The Centurion Lounge at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) is the lounge you didn't know you needed. Expected in 2027, this more intimate format is built for solo travelers or small groups with limited time. Instead of the usual buffet shuffle, you can order elevated small plates and signature cocktails right from your phone via a QR code and have them delivered to your seat in under 90 minutes. It’s a "refined-and-ready" approach that acknowledges not every airport visit is a three-hour marathon.

Meanwhile, loyalists heading through Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) are getting a massive upgrade to one of the network's earliest homes. By 2027, the DFW lounge will expand by nearly 50 percent, adding a second full-service bar and a whimsical walk-up ice cream window for a quick sweet treat before boarding.

Whether you're looking for a peaceful workstation in Boston or a quick gourmet bite in Charlotte, these new spaces prove that Amex is listening: they know that luxury travel is increasingly defined by the ability to choose your own pace.

Popular Destination Is Seeing an Increase in This Serious Virus, and Health Officials Want Travelers on Alert

Fri, 04/10/2026 - 10:08am

Hawaii may be known for its beaches, lush landscapes, and laid-back island culture, but recently, health officials have been keeping a close eye on a less relaxing trend: an increase in dengue virus cases. While the risk to travelers remains relatively low, understanding what’s happening and how to protect yourself can make a big difference when planning your trip.

What Is Dengue and Why Is It Serious?

Dengue is a mosquito-borne virus that can cause flu-like symptoms, including fever, nausea, rash, and severe body aches. In more serious cases, it can lead to complications like internal bleeding or shock. There’s no specific treatment for dengue, which makes prevention especially important.

Globally, dengue cases have been rising, and travelers are often exposed in tropical and subtropical regions. The virus spreads when a mosquito bites an infected person and then transmits it to others, meaning even areas without widespread outbreaks can still see cases pop up.

What’s Happening in Hawaii Right Now?

Recent reports show that Hawaii has already recorded multiple dengue cases in 2026, and they’re all tied to travel. The Hawaii Department of Health confirmed that cases have appeared on islands like Maui and Oʻahu, with infected individuals exposed to the virus while traveling to regions where dengue is common.

In fact, at least three cases have been identified so far this year, prompting health officials to respond quickly with mosquito control efforts in affected areas.

While this might sound alarming, there’s an important distinction: dengue is not currently endemic in Hawaii. However, mosquitoes capable of carrying the virus do exist on the islands, which means there is always a risk of local transmission if precautions aren’t taken.

Where Are People Getting Bitten?

Here’s the key detail travelers should understand: most recent dengue cases in Hawaii are travel-related, meaning people are getting infected elsewhere, often in tropical destinations like parts of Latin America, Southeast Asia, or the Pacific, and then returning to Hawaii.

Once back, if a mosquito bites an infected traveler, it can potentially spread the virus locally. That’s why health officials closely monitor areas where infected individuals have stayed and implement mosquito control measures in the surrounding area.

In other words, you’re not necessarily getting dengue in Hawaii, but the presence of infected travelers increases the overall risk environment.

Tips for Staying Safe While Visiting

If you’re heading to Hawaii, there’s no need to cancel your trip, but taking a few smart precautions can significantly reduce your risk.

  • First, protect yourself from mosquito bites. Use EPA-approved insect repellent, especially during the day when dengue-carrying mosquitoes are most active. Wear lightweight long sleeves and pants when possible, and consider staying in accommodations with screens or air conditioning.
  • Second, be mindful of your surroundings. Mosquitoes breed in standing water, so areas with stagnant water, like gardens, outdoor containers, or even puddles, can pose a higher risk. Health officials often remind residents and visitors to eliminate standing water whenever possible.
  • Third, if you’ve recently traveled internationally before arriving in Hawaii, take extra care. Officials recommend avoiding mosquito bites for up to three weeks after returning from a dengue-prone region to prevent potential spread.
  • Finally, pay attention to symptoms. If you develop a fever, body aches, or rash during or after your trip, seek medical attention and mention your travel history.

Dengue cases in Hawaii are increasing, but the situation isn’t cause for panic. The cases so far are linked to travel, not widespread local outbreaks. Still, the presence of the virus means travelers should stay informed and take simple precautions.

Hawaii remains a safe and incredible destination. With a little awareness and preparation, you can enjoy everything the islands have to offer, without bringing home more than just souvenirs.

Kristin Cavallari’s Wild Relationship History: From ‘Laguna Beach’ Drama to Her ‘Toxic’ Marriage

Fri, 04/10/2026 - 10:05am

If you were glued to MTV in the 2000s, you already know Kristin Cavallari’s relationship history is anything but boring. On Laguna Beach, she was the villainous third of a love triangle involving Stephen Colletti and Lauren Conrad. On The Hills, she staged trouble-making romances with both Justin Bobby and Brody Jenner

When she married NFL quarterback Jay Cutler in 2013, it seemed Cavallari had finally found romantic bliss. But their seven-year marriage ended in 2020 with the Very Cavallari star later calling their relationship “toxic.”

Now, she’s “very quick to end things” with a potential love interest if he isn’t the exact right fit. “If I feel one thing is wrong [or] is missing, I'm not wasting my time and my energy on someone,” she said on her podcast, Let’s Be Honest with Kristin Cavallari.

Keep reading for more about the reality star’s marriage to Cutler and who she dated before and after.

Is Kristin Cavallari in a relationship?

If she is, she’s keeping it to herself. In a February 2026 episode of Let’s Be Honest, she said that because she’s “gotten confused by infatuation far too many times,” she no longer allows herself to make serious relationship moves until after that intense period is typically up.

“I am not allowed to say I love you to, make long-term plans with anyone, introduce them to my kids—like, nothing for the first six months," she explained. "Because I am someone who gets very excited when I like someone because it is so rare that I am attracted to someone.”

Related: Kristin Cavallari Shares Devastating Family Loss That ‘Wrecked’ Her

Is Kristin Cavallari dating Nate Thompson

No, but the former NHL player is her last confirmed love interest.

Cavallari shared on Bunnie XO’s Dumb Blonde podcast in December 2024 that she was dating a retired athlete, saying he was “such a good guy”—but she didn’t reveal the mystery man’s identity. By the time did, in April 2025, their relationship was already over

“He's someone who has done a lot of work on himself, and we really connected on such a deep level,” she said on her own podcast

But the physical chemistry was missing. “That attraction piece for me has to be so on fire for me to want to be with someone,” she explained. “This guy is a perfect example of that, where I’m like, ‘Why can’t I fall in love with you?’ If I could choose who I want to fall in love with, I would pick you because you’re such an amazing guy and we are firing on all other cylinders.”

Are Kristin Cavallari and Stephen Colletti still friends?

Let’s go back to the beginning, shall we? Cavallari and Colletti dated in high school, and their on-again, off-again relationship became one of the central storylines of Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. There were fights, breakups, makeups and, of course, the infamous love triangle with Lauren Conrad, which often positioned Cavallari as the villain.

In her 2016 book Balancing in Heels: My Journey to Health, Happiness, and Making It All Work, Cavallari wrote that her and Colletti’s conflicts were often foisted upon them, suggesting that the show’s infamous love triangle was, in fact, orchestrated.

"Normal high school relationships are dramatic enough, but ours now had the added pressure of being seen by MTV viewers across the country as well as being manipulated by the show's producers,” she wrote.

"[T]hey controlled and mapped our lives more than we were aware. One of the most hurtful things they did was pressure Stephen to spend time with another girl from the show, Lauren, while he and I were dating. It certainly provided some juicy conflicts, but it also affected me deeply. I felt threatened.”

Despite all the drama, Cavallari and her high-school sweetheart remain friends to this day. In 2022, they launched a Laguna Beach rewatch podcast, Back to the Beach, which ran for nearly a year.

Cavallari shared on the podcast that when she posted a photo of her and Colletti on Instagram in August 2020, it was her “most liked photo” of all time. “I mean, you’d beat all of my children," she said. "You’d beat, like, any milestone in my life. So to me, that’s actually very sweet because it shows how invested the audience was of Laguna Beach."

Did Kristin Cavallari date Brody Jenner?

They dated for a brief period after Laguna Beach ended, but their on-screen romance on The Hills was a staged storyline. “They pretended that him and Jayde [Nicole] broke up and I was dating Brody, and Jayde and I got into a huge fight because she saw us in a club,” Cavallari revealed on Watch What Happens Live. “It wasn’t real at all. They were together the entire time.” Meanwhile, Cavallari was romantically involved at the time with a cameraman from The Hills. More on that below…

Did Kristin Cavallari really date a cameraman from The Hills

Yes. On an April 2026 episode of her podcast, Let’s Be Honest, Cavallari told guest and former enemy Lauren Conrad that she dated MTV cameraman Miguel Medina while she was supposedly dating Brody Jenner on the show.

“We hung out for a couple of months,” she shared. “And we kept it a secret …I was like, we’re being professional.”

But after paparazzi snapped them together at the airport, MTV fired Medina just before the show wrapped. “I remember I fought with [show creator] Adam [DiVello]. I was like, ‘You guys would have never had any idea. We’ve been nothing but professional.’”

According to Medina’s IMDB page, he’s been working steadily ever since, on shows including The X Factor, Barely Famous, Arrested Developmentand Curb Your Enthusiasm

Did Kristin Cavallari and Justin Bobby really hook up?

No. Their on-screen kiss on The Hills was staged to stir up drama with Justin Bobby Brescia’s on-again-off-again girlfriendAudrina Patridge.

"Not one time did I see him outside of filming," Cavallari said on her podcast. "I think the one time I kissed him was literally when they asked me to kiss him on camera... I was getting paid like I would a scripted show. I was like, 'Yeah, I'll do that.'"

When was Kristin Cavallari married to Jay Cutler?

Cavallari married the now retired Chicago Bears quarterback on June 7, 2013. The couple tied the knot in Nashville, Tenn., after a whirlwind relationship that included an engagement in 2011, a brief split and then a reconciliation later that same year.

“At that moment, something wasn’t right,” Cavallari wrote of their split. “A few things needed to change, and I knew the only way Jay would see how serious I was, was if I ended the relationship.”

After patching things up, they were married for seven years before calling it quits again.

On a 2022 episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, Cavallari said they split during their engagement for "the same reason I got a divorce."

"Same reasons, I should say," she shared. "I guess if there’s any takeaway from that, it’s that you can’t ignore red flags, people don’t change, and you gotta trust your gut."

Why did Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler split?

As with most divorces, it’s complicated. When Cavallari announced their split, she wrote on Instagram, "This is just the situation of two people growing apart." But her court filings, obtained by TMZ, cited "inappropriate marital conduct" and "irreconcilable differences," suggesting something more untoward may have happened.

In an interview with Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper, Cavallari said the relationship was “toxic," but declined to offer details.

"Because I have three kids with him, I’m very careful about what I say," she said. "If you and I didn’t have microphones in front of us, I’d f-----d tell you, but that’s their dad and my oldest Googles us now and I just want to be very careful. My mom never said anything bad about my dad growing up and I really respected that, and I want to be that kind of mom."

How many kids does Kristin Cavallari have with Jay Cutler?

The exes share three children: sons Camden Jack Cutler, born Aug. 8, 2012, and Jaxon Wyatt Cutler, born May 7, 2014, and daughter Saylor James Cutler, born Nov. 23, 2015.

When she was deciding whether to end her marriage, she thought about how the unhealthy relationship was affecting her children.

"I didn’t want my kids thinking that was normal and I wanted them to see me happy and see me eventually, not right now, but eventually see me with someone who really respects me and treats me the way I need to be treated," Cavallari said on Call Her Daddy. "I was really unhappy, I mean, and that was the bottom line. I was in an unhealthy relationship and so that, to me, is not worth it."

How much money did Kristin Cavallari get from Jay Cutler?

Unclear. According to Cavallari, she got nothing; according to Cutler, that’s a lie.

The he-said-she-said started with a comment Cavallari made on her E! docuseries, Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour, in which she pushed back on the assumption that her ex-husband bankrolled her brand, Uncommon James. “...[P]eople love to say that everything I have in my life is because of my ex-husband, and that my ex-husband funded Uncommon James,” she said. “But I am, to this day, 100% owner, and I’ve never taken any outside funding.”

When it came to the divorce itself, Cavallari added, “I have never gotten a penny from my ex-husband. I didn’t get any money from our divorce, so let’s just clear that up.”

Cutler responded on an episode of his podcast, Take it Outside with Jay Cutler and Sam Mackey, essentially accusing Cavallari of lying. “Yeah, she didn’t get a penny. She got a lot, a lot, a lot of (dollar) bills,” he joked. He then called her claims “irresponsible” and “borderline slander,” adding, “It’s reckless… to insinuate that there was zero dollars split during the marriage that each side got.”

While he didn’t reveal exact numbers, he pointed out that his NFL earnings—reportedly totaling $122.2 million over his career—are public record. “If we would have went to the judge and been like, ‘Hey, he’s going to keep every single dollar… and you’re going to get nothing,’ they would have been like, ‘No… not happening.’”

What happened with Krisin Cavallari and Mark Estes?

Cavallari dated TikTok content creator Mark Estes, who is 13 years her junior, for seven months in 2024, when she was 37 and he was 23. Although she shot back at age-gap critics while she and Estes were together, she admitted after their breakup that their age difference was ultimately a dealbreaker.

“I just know, long term, he needs to experience life,” she said on her podcast. “He’s young and I started to feel the age a little bit just with life experience.”

She emphasized that he was the “best boyfriend” she’d ever had, which made breaking up with him that much harder.

“He will make someone so happy one day,” she said tearfully.

Is it true that Kristin Cavallari hooked up with Morgan Wallen?

Yes, the pair dated in 2023, which Cavallari confirmed in December 2024 on Bunnie XO’s podcast Dumb Blonde.

"I’ll be honest, Morgan was the first guy in my entire f------g life that wasn’t, like, just completely enamored with me," she said.

"It really threw me…I love having the upper hand and, with him, I didn’t feel like I had the upper hand. I was like, 'I’m going to get it.' Never did."

When Bunnie XO asked if Wallen was romantic, Cavallari side-stepped the question but offered instead that he was "good in bed." And there you have it!

Finn Wolfhard’s Surprise Cameo in 'Malcolm in the Middle' Revival Has Fans Talking — Here’s How It Happened

Fri, 04/10/2026 - 10:03am

Fans of Malcolm in the Middle were treated to a variety of blasts from the past in the new revival Life's Still Unfair. But there's one notable name who was the biggest surprise to show up alongside Frankie Muniz, Jane Kaczmarek and Bryan Cranston: Finn Wolfhard.

The Stranger Things star shows up in the finale of the four-episode season, serving as the party planner for Hal (Cranston) and Lois's (Kaczmarek) anniversary celebration. In actuality, however, knowing Lois, he more so serves as an ancillary character with AV controls in hand, the latest person on the receiving end of her controlling tendencies.

Again, having Wolfhard show up seems quite arbitrary, given the fact that he is one of the only people not affiliated with the original run of Malcolm in the Middle to show up in the revival. But, in a Deadline interview with creator Linwood Boomer, he revealed how the drive-by appearance came to be.

"His agent called us and said, ‘Can Finn visit the set?’ We go, ‘S—t, yeah,'” he recalls. “He loves the show, he’s such a big fan of the show, and we’re like, ‘Well, there’s a part we haven’t cast yet. Does he wanna do that? I mean, it’s a small part.’ And he said, ‘F—k yeah, he wants to do it.’ And we were like, ‘F—k yeah, we want you to come, that’d be awesome.'”

Tracy Katsky Boomer, Linwood's wife and an EP on Life's Still Unfair, chimes in. She says the 23-year-old was an "absolute doll" to have on set.

"He was so great," she says. "He’s so charming. It’s so fun to watch him do comedy. He was so cute with Lois, Jane Kaczmarek. He was standing there and he kept forgetting to deliver his lines, because he was just so overwhelmed that Lois was screaming at him, and he’d kind of go, ‘Oh wait, I have to act. OK, OK.’ It was so cute."

Deadline also got the opportunity to speak with Kaczmarek and Cranston about it while the two were doing promotion for the revival. And, despite the Ghostbusters actor geeking out over them on set, they clarify that the feeling was absolutely mutual.

"He’s a good actor on a great show," says Cranston. "And it was like, yeah, let’s include him."

Adds Kaczmarek, "But I’m suddenly like, ‘Oh my God, that kid from Stranger Things is here. What’s he doing here?'"

Malcolm in the Middle: Life's Still Unfair brings back the family behind the iconic FOXsitcom 20 years later. The show focuses on an adult Malcolm (Muniz), now with a daughter of his own (played by Keeley Karsten) as he attempts to keep his parents and siblings at arm's length. It is unknown whether there are any plans to continue the story of the Wilkerson family past this four-episode stint, now available on Hulu. If so, perhaps we could see more celebrity superfan cameos play out. After all, stranger things have happened!

73 Years Ago, Desi Arnaz Performed the ‘I Love Lucy’ Theme in a Rare Classic TV Moment

Fri, 04/10/2026 - 10:01am

From 1951 to 1957, Desi Arnaz played Cuban bandleader/frustrated husband Ricky Ricardo on I Love Lucy. The character performed a nightclub act at the fictional Tropicana in New York City, and was known to regularly belt out his song “Babalu.” But in a rare TV moment, Arnaz put words to the iconic I Love Lucy theme music—and it was the only time he ever performed the song on the show.

Midway through the CBSsitcom’s iconic run, fans finally got to hear the words that accompanied the all-instrumental opening theme to the show.

On the I Love Lucy episode, “Lucy’s Last Birthday,” which originally aired May 11, 1953, Arnaz serenaded his real-life wife and co-star Lucille Ball with the “I Love Lucy” song after she mistakenly thought he had forgotten her birthday.

The theme song is a part of history

The I Love Lucy theme is one of the most recognizable show openers in TV history. It was written by composer Eliot Daniel, who composed the song at the request of producer Jess Oppenheimer, according to The Library of Congress. The site noted, “The lyric, by Harold Adamson, was sung on the show only once, in Episode No. 60, ‘Lucy’s Last Birthday.’” The song was also released by Columbia Records as the B-side to Arnaz’s single, “There’s a Brand New Baby at Our House.”

More than 70  years later, the series’ original orchestral scores are preserved at the Library of Congress as part of the Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz Collection.

RELATED: Lucille Ball’s Favorite ‘I Love Lucy’ Episode Was a 1956 Classic

In a 1983 interview on The Late Show with David Letterman, Arnaz explained how he was cast on I Love Lucy amid his wife's success on the radio show My Favorite Husband.

“They wanted to transfer [the radio show]  to television, and we, you know, we wanted to work together,” Arnaz shared. “So [Lucille], she says, ‘I want Desi to play the husband.’ … [Producers] Bob Carroll Jr. and Madeline Davis came up with me, with the music and the orchestra leader, and then nobody wanted me to play Ricky. The networks, the sponsors, nobody.  They said, ‘Who the hell is going to believe this ‘Babalu’ fellow is going to be married to this typical American girl, you know?”

“The funniest part of it is that we had been married for 10 years right then,” Arnaz added.

Arnaz and Ball ultimately went on a nightclub tour to prove audiences would embrace them together, and the rest is history.

The Government Is Flat-Out Asking U.S. Travelers Not To Visit This Country

Fri, 04/10/2026 - 10:00am

If Nigeria has been on your travel list, you may want to reconsider your plans, or at least for now. The U.S. government has issued an updated travel advisory urging Americans to reconsider or avoid travel to the country due to growing safety concerns, highlighting the risks travelers could face.

According to the U.S. State Department, Nigeria is currently under a Level 3: Reconsider Travel advisory, with some regions designated Level 4: Do Not Travel due to serious threats such as terrorism, kidnapping, armed crime, and civil unrest. These warnings aren’t new, but recent developments have escalated concerns. In fact, the U.S. has authorized the departure of non-emergency embassy staff and their families from Abuja, signaling a deteriorating security situation.

So what’s behind the advisory? The U.S. State Department points to a combination of risks. Violent crime, including armed robbery and carjacking, is common, and kidnappings for ransom occur frequently, sometimes targeting foreign travelers. Terrorist groups are also active in certain regions, with attacks possible in public places like markets, hotels, and transportation hubs. Add in civil unrest and limited access to reliable healthcare, and it becomes clear why officials are urging caution.

What to Do If You Already Have a Trip Booked

If you’ve already planned a trip to Nigeria, don’t panic, but do act quickly and thoughtfully. First, check the flexibility of your flights and accommodations. Many airlines and hotels offer changes or cancellations in response to government advisories, especially when safety is involved.

Next, consider purchasing or reviewing your travel insurance policy. Some plans include “cancel for any reason” coverage, which can help you recoup costs if you decide not to travel. If your trip is essential, enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP), which allows the U.S. Embassy to contact you in the event of an emergency.

It’s also wise to stay updated through official channels and monitor local news. Conditions can change quickly, and having the latest information is key to making informed decisions.

Related: U.S. Ups Travel Advisory for Popular Spring Break Destination and I'd Honestly Reconsider Traveling There

Should You Still Go?

While not all of Nigeria is equally dangerous, the advisory highlights that risks can vary widely by region and can change rapidly. For most leisure travelers, the current recommendation is clear: postpone non-essential travel until conditions improve.

However, if travel is unavoidable, taking extra precautions is critical. This includes avoiding high-risk areas, keeping a low profile, arranging secure transportation, and having an emergency plan in place.

Where to Go Instead

If you’re looking for an alternative destination with a similar cultural richness or warm climate, there are plenty of safer options to consider.

  • For West African vibes, countries like Ghana or Senegal offer vibrant culture, music, and food scenes with fewer safety concerns.
  • If you’re drawn to coastal beauty and outdoor adventure, consider destinations like Costa Rica or Barbados, which combine stunning ocean views with well-developed tourism infrastructure.
  • For a city-meets-culture experience, places like Lisbon or Dubai provide global energy, historical depth, and strong safety records for international travelers.

Travel advisories aren’t meant to scare you, but rather they’re meant to inform and protect you. Right now, the situation in Nigeria presents real risks that travelers shouldn’t ignore. While the country remains culturally rich and deeply significant, timing matters when it comes to safe travel.

If Nigeria is on your bucket list, it may still be worth visiting someday but for now, it’s best to wait until conditions stabilize. In the meantime, there’s a whole world of incredible (and safer) destinations ready to explore.

1971 No. 1 Track Won an Oscar For 'Best Original Song' 54 Years Ago Today

Fri, 04/10/2026 - 10:00am

In 1971, Ernest Tidyman and John D.F. Black wrote a blaxploitation crime action thriller film directed by Gordon Parks that would be tagged as culturally significant. Alongside the movie's popularity, legendary soul artist Isaac Hayeswon an Oscar for its chart-topping theme song.

Shaft was released in theaters in early July of 1971, becoming a box office success that made $13 million against its $500k budget. Based on Tidyman's novel of the same name, it revolved around a private detective named John Shaft who was hired by a Harlem mobster. Shaft is tasked with rescuing the mobster's daughter from the Italian mob.

The movie was the first in its franchise, with the actor Richard Roundtree in the leading role. He starred alongside actors  Moses GunnCharles CioffiChristopher St. John, and Lawrence Pressman. Shaft was a commercial success to say the least, having tackled themes of masculinity and sexuality, with an overall focus on Black Power set in the neighborhoods of New York.

Hayes' soul and funk-styled theme song titled "Theme from Shaft" gained critical acclaim when it was released as a single months after the movie's soundtrack. It landed at No. 2 on the Billboard Soul Singles chart, but peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for two weeks.

When it came to the creation of the hit track, Hayes only took on the project after the film's producer promised him an audition for the lead role. The role was given to Roundtree, who was an unknown actor at the time, and Hayes never got his chance to audition, but kept his promise to create the track. It was reported that the director and producer had given Hayes the opening scene of Shaft, where the detective comes out of the subway, to work with.

"I remembered a guitar line I had in a tune I'd never used, got it off the shelf and had our guitarist play it exactly the same, but with a wah-wah. Then I got our drummer to play 16-note sequences on the hi-hat and we had it. The core rhythm for the tune, the springboard for the whole soundtrack, we'd cut in under two hours," he told Mojo in 1995.

While "Theme from Shaft" was considered racy at the time, it did the job of gaining critical success. It won an Oscar for Best Original Song at the 1972 award ceremony, with Hayes becoming the first African American to ever win in the category. He was also the first to win an Oscar as an artist to have written and performed the track. Hayes later won a Grammy for the hit song for Best Instrumental Arrangement, and later Best Original Score Written for a Motion Picture or a Television Special for Shaft.

By 1999, "Theme from Shaft" was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame and re-recorded for the 2000 sequel starringSamual L. Jackson. It was then preserved by the Library of Congress in 2014.

Anthony Norman Reveals Sia’s Surprise Nearly Exposed ‘Jury Duty’ (Exclusive)

Fri, 04/10/2026 - 10:00am

Anthony Norman's tenure as a temp at Rockin' Grandma's Hot Sauce included assisting recording artist Sia. The "Cheap Thrills" singer appeared as herself in episode 6 of Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat, after being brought in by the Triukas Group for Rockin' Grandma's talent contest, an event that raised a red flag for the show's unwitting hero.

Speaking exclusively to Parade, Norman recalled, "So me and Jimmy [Jim Woods], we were working on his talent for the talent show, and he was trying to remix an Eminem song. And one of the producers came out, and she was like, 'Yo, we can't do that. It's a small-budget documentary. We don't have the copyright.' And then, like a day or two later, Sia comes and is singing, and I was like, 'Y’all filming Sia. It's not a small documentary."

Before introducing Sia onstage for her performance, Norman was sent to her private guest cabin, where he helped the pop star pick out one of her iconic wigs, even trying on a couple himself.

"It was a cool experience," Norman said of hanging out with the performer. "Being around a star is always fun, and then she's just a sweet lady. She also reminds me [of] Helen [Stephanie Hodge] and my auntie. They're both just like sweet, but they have like that rough kind of angry humor."

Sia's appearance at the retreat was one of "some red flags" for the Nashville native, who believed he had been hired to be a temporary assistant at Rockin' Grandma's. Norman pointed out, "Overall, the jobs that I was doing, they didn't need somebody from Nashville to do that. They could have got somebody right from Agoura Hills [a city in California] and created it."

Despite all the red flags, Norman never got to the point where he wondered whether he was actually on a television show. But, looking back, there were some things he could have questioned, but admitted, "I'm glad I didn't question them!"

Prime Video's Company Retreat is the second iteration of the Emmy-nominated comedy series Jury Duty, which premiered in 2023. While the original, starring James Marsden, was set around a fake trial, Company Retreat centered on a family-owned hot sauce company's retreat, where everyone unbeknownst to Norman was an actor and the entire experience was staged.

Anthony Norman chatted exclusively with Parade about his Rockin' Grandma's experience, including bonding with Dougie Jr. and what he took from the retreat before he learned it was all fake...

Did you recognize any of your Rockin' Grandma's coworkers from different TV projects?
Not at all. It's crazy, looking back, Stephanie was in [The] Suite Life of Zack & Cody, and I loved that growing up... But I do just think it was so long ago, I wouldn't remember it.

It didn't click. Did you go home and Google them all after the show?
[Laughs.] Yeah. For sure. Yeah.

I loved seeing you develop these bonds with all your different coworkers. What made you sympathize with Dougie so quickly?

Just him being vulnerable with me. Him opening up and wanting to share his worry about taking over the company and then just also being in his shoes. Not necessarily saying that I'm taking over [a] company, but just wanting to step up and make your dad proud and just giving it your all and when it doesn't work out, you know, it sucks. And I know that feeling.

In the finale, he said that you guys were brothers for life. Are you still in contact?
Yeah, man. Brothers for life. He was not lying.

Have you hung out since the reunion?
Yeah, yeah. Absolutely. So he actually came to Nashville. And then every time I come out here, we try to do something. And yesterday we went and got a workout in.

I feel like fans loved seeing how passionate you were in that final episode... What got you to that point where you made that dramatic plea to Doug when he was trying to sign the contract?

So actually, at the top of the hill, I'm telling Alex or Dougie, like, you have to go in there and do it, and I'm going to just be there and support you and validate the information that you're providing. So I'm not really thinking anything besides just, you know, show up for him as I'm running down there, and then, you know, he falls down. And I'm like, Okay, well, we got to go, you know, we still got to go in. And in that moment, I'm just thinking, like, how can I get him to really hear me, you know, because I am just a temp, right? So how can I connect with him [in] a way that he'll take the time to actually hear what I have to say.

So in that moment, you didn't expect yourself to be the one stopping the deal? You thought it was going to be Dougie until he-
Yeah, till he fell [Laughs.].

Two pretty insane moments this season were Dougie's "Jerk-Off Sauce" moment, and the "Slum-It to Summit" seminar. Looking back, which was harder to take seriously?
Honestly, I'll probably say it was harder to take the jerk off sauce seriously. The slum-it to summit, I kind of felt bad for him, you know, he was sharing his story, how he struggled with his past and stuff like that. It was very easy for me to really try to tune in and hear what he was trying to say.

Since you said it was harder to take the "Jerk-Off Sauce" moment seriously, what was going through your mind in that moment as you're seeing this all play out?

I definitely felt bad for him in the moment. But honestly, I didn't really, even after I looked at the bottle, I'm like, I mean, I guess it does kind of say jerk off sauce. But I didn't think it was like that crazy of a deal, but the way everybody reacted around me, I was like, okay, maybe he'd really just messed up bad.

What did you think of Dougie's sauce?
It was good. It was good. I liked it.

Did you get to take home any of the prop sauces?
Actually, cool story. They came back around and they were like taking up the bottles because, you know, it was a misprint, or whatever. And in the moment when I saw that they were taking the bottles away, I ran to my cabin with a bottle, like, put it up. I was like, I need this. I was thinking it was a documentary, right? But I was like, you know, the world might see it, so let me just keep this. So I actually stole a bottle before they could take it back up.

Was there a moment throughout the retreat where your instincts were kind of right, but you talked yourself out of it?

Yeah. I'll give you an example, Warren [who plays Steve], I was told it was Warren's birthday. And so my job was to run to the store and like get stuff for them. So I was like, "Okay, let me get him a chocolate cupcake." It was one, just like a bigger one. And, you know, we brought it to him, we sang "Happy Birthday." And then later that day, I was talking to Doug about the cupcake. And he was like, "Oh yeah, I got one of those cupcakes, too." I didn't say this to him, but I was like, "It's just one. I didn't get a bunch." And in that moment, I was like, "What is he talking about?" But I was like, "Maybe it was just a miscommunication or something like that." And I very quickly dismissed it. But looking back, I'm like, yeah, he slipped up.

Whose relationship changed the most, between their character and their real-life counterpart, or have they all been kind of the same? Some of the characters they played were pretty outrageous.

I like to say that they are the characters that we see, but that is just the fun, crazy side of them, right? They show the crazy side of them a lot, and then y'all don't get to experience just regular Dougie, right? Or regular Amy or regular PJ. Those moments, they're very much very similar to who they are to this day.

Anthony and 'Jury Duty' star Ronald Gladden "share a bond"

Courtesy of Prime Video

I love that we got to see you and Ronald Gladden come together in that bonus episode, and you guys got tricked again!
Again!

Do you and Ronald feel like you share this unique "Can we trust anything bond"?

In a way. We share a bond that we've both been through this together. Right? I don't think we have trust issues in that sense anymore, but we definitely bond in a way that we've been through something that most people don't.

So you're not questioning things? You trust reality?
[Laughs.] Yeah, for sure. You know, if you do the numbers, the likelihood of it happening to me again or us again, is very, very slim.

Were you surprised to see James Marsden hosting the reunion? And was that your first time meeting him?
Yeah, my first time meeting him. When I realized he rolled under the garage door and he hit it and I just I got up and greeted him almost immediately because it was cool. It was cool to see him.

Related: James Marsden Reveals the Musical Legend He's 'Always Wanted' to Play (Exclusive)

Have you stayed in contact with him? Has he stayed in contact with you post-reunion?

No, I haven't had the honor to speak with him since.

How have you adjusted to the attention that's come with the show?

I'm still adjusting, but just taking it all in. It's all positives. So just happy and grateful to receive the love.

On the show, you said that your mom thought something was up. Is she like "You should have listened to me"?

[Laughs] Yeah. You should always listen to your mom.

What did she think of the show after watching?

She loved it. She actually came with me out to the premiere, and we watched the first three episodes, and before the end of the first episode, she was crying from laughter and joyful tears.

Every one was an actor except for Anthony, who believed he was being filmed for a documentary

Courtesy of Prime Video

Was there one particular moment that really shocked her? Or was she like, "Anthony, how did you not know?"

I think she was a little shocked that I didn't question too much when Sia came around. Kind of for the same reason that I said, of like, you know, it's a documentary, right? It's just a small documentary. Why would you not question things when they bring in a big star.

I loved Kevin's [talent show] performance, going up after Sia-

I actually appreciated it. To me, I'm an effort guy, so the fact that he went up there and sang his heart out, I was like, kudos to him.

James Marsden said on the reunion that Jury Duty is not a prank show, it's a celebration of someone's character. What do you think this experience says about your character?

I think that it just shows how willing, how much of a team player I am. I grew up playing sports, and my dad always taught buying in, buying into your team. It's not about the name on the back of your jersey, it’s about the name on the front. I think that's one thing that I'm grateful that's highlighted.

What do you envision, if there's a third season of Jury Duty ? How do you think they could pull this off again? What advice would you give to the next person who is going to be in your shoes?
Honestly, I don't know what they could do. But I'll say this, I don't put it past them to do anything. Honestly, I saw there was somebody said [it should be on] a cruise ship. I don't know how you get to the point where you make it an emotional tie on a cruise ship. But I wouldn't put it past them to do it. And then the advice that I would have for the next person, or really everybody in the world, just lead with kindness and compassion and do your best to respect your environment and take care of those around you.

‘Laguna Beach’ Cast Reunites 20 Years Later: Where Are They Now?

Fri, 04/10/2026 - 10:00am

When Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County premiered on MTV in 2004, it didn’t just introduce a cast of wealthy high-schoolers navigating life in coastal California—it essentially reshaped reality TV. Inspired in part by the success of The O.C. and shot like a slick teen drama, the series blurred the line between scripted and unscripted storytelling.

Now, 20 years after the game-changing series ended, the Season 1 cast is reuniting for a millennial-pleasing special, The Reunion: Laguna Beach, airing April 10 on The Roku Channel.

“It was a really weird thing we went through,” Lauren says in the trailer. “It’s strange that people showed up at our high school and asked us to do this.”

Today, most of the original cast have long since stepped away from the cameras. But their one-time return to TV proves that the nostalgia, like the drama, still holds up.

Lauren was known for her introspective voiceovers and good-girl persona. But as one-third of the show’s central love triangle (along with Kristin Cavallari and Stephen Colletti), she also brought her fair share of drama.

After the series wrapped, she starred in the spinoff The Hills, which initially followed her as an intern at Teen Vogue, before leaving reality TV behind altogether in 2009. Since then, she launched her LC Lauren Conrad clothing line at Kohl’s and published best-selling books including the L.A. Candy young adult series and Lauren Conrad Style Guide.

“I always looked at reality TV as a temporary thing to make my connections and then go on to my dream,” she told People

Career aside, she married attorney William Tell in September 2014 and welcomed sons Liam and Charlie in 2017 and 2019, respectively.

Speaking with co-star Kristin Cavallari on Kristin’s podcast, Let’s Be Honest, Lauren said the Laguna Beach reunion will be her last reality TV appearance. "I feel so lucky because, you know, it can go a lot of ways when you've been in entertainment for a long time. And I think a lot of people really miss it. And I didn't. "

Kristin was positioned as the “villain” of Laguna Beach—an edit she’s questioned in hindsight. “We were very young to have our lives manipulated like that,” she told The Hollywood Reporter. Still, she added, “I’m not complaining about it. I’m so thankful for the show.”

Her post-Laguna Beach career has included a stint on The Hills (she joined the show in the middle of Season 5, after LC left), the UPN series Get This Party StartedDancing with the StarsThe Hills: New Beginnings and her own E! series Very Cavallari, which aired for three seasons from 2018 to 2020.

Reality-TV aside, she wrote her first of several books, Balancing in Heels: my Journey to Health, Happiness, and Making It All Work, in 2016 and launched of her lifestyle brand, Uncommon James, the following year. These days, you can hear Kristin on Let's Be Honest with Kristin Cavallari, a podcast she launched in 2023 after hosting the Back to the Beach rewatch podcast with Stephen Colletti.

On the personal front, Kristin married Jay Cutler in 2013 and split from him in 2020 after welcoming three kids: Camden, 13, Jaxon, 12, and Saylor, 10.

She shared on her podcast that she wants to be “done” with Hollywood by the time her children graduate from high school, if not sooner.

“My celebrity could go away tomorrow and I would be really happy,” she told Bustle. “…I have a set amount of money in my mind, and then I’m done working. I just want to live a chill life. I’ve been grinding since I was 17, and I’m tired.”

After finding fame as the laid-back heartthrob caught between LC and Kristin, Stephen successfully pivoted from reality TV star to working actor. He’s best known for his long-running role as Chase Adams on One Tree Hill, where he appeared from 2007 to 2012, and also co-created and starred in the short-lived series Everyone Is Doing Great. Fans also saw him pop up as the love interest in Taylor Swifts “White Horse” music video.

On the unscripted side, Stephen has worked as a VJ on Total Request Live and hosted various MTV specials, and in 2022, he reconnected with Kristin to co-host the Back to the Beach podcast.

It wasn’t until 2026 that he returned to his reality TV roots, starring in The Traitors Season 4. “I swore off reality TV for a very long time,” he said. “There was always in the back of my mind an opportunity in a competition-type show, something where I could pop in and have it not be so focused on your personal life.” He was banished in Episode 9.

In his personal life, Stephen married NASCAR reporter Alex Weaver in October 2025 and they’re expecting their first child this year. “It sounds crazy, but I'm ready for my life to be put upside down in that way,” Stephen told People. “I've been watching my wife take on pregnancy and she's been such a superhero, such a bad-ss.”

As LC’s blunt BFF, Lo brought comic relief to Laguna Beach as well as to The Hills. But she ultimately traded reality TV for entrepreneurship. In 2016, following years of troubleshooting her own health problems, she launched Love Wellness, a brand centered on women’s gut, vaginal and hormonal health. The line, which includes supplements and personal care products, has sold in major national retailers like Target, Ulta Beauty and Walmart.

What started as a one-woman operation out of Lo’s apartment turned into a multi-million-dollar business. By the time Lo stepped down as CEO in 2023, the company was bringing in “about $50 million in annual net revenue,” she told The Glossy Beauty podcast in 2024. (She still holds a founder and chairman role at the company.)

“Growing up in the entertainment industry can create a lot of trauma,” she said at ADWEEK’s Brandweek event in 2024. “Building this business, and wanting to tell my real story and who I really am, comes out of this trauma response of being so desperate for people to know me for who I really am.”

Alas, Lo is not part of the Laguna Beach reunion—but for good reason. She just gave birth to a baby girl, Nelle, her first child with businessman husband Dom Natale, whom she married in 2025.

The group’s resident flirt left the show at the end of Season 2 and for several years pursued a career in acting. Eventually, he decided “it was time to get a big boy job” (his words, via TikTok) and moved into marketing and brand partnerships.

He’s now married with three kids: Bronson Leonardo, 8, Hudson Isabella, 5, and Anderson Tito, who will be 3 in June.

Jessica Smith

Jessica’s turbulent relationship with Jason Wahler made her one of the show’s more vulnerable cast members during her two-season run. After leaving Laguna Beach, she briefly returned to the spotlight following a 2007 DUI arrest, but has otherwise kept a low profile. These days, she lives in Texas with her husband, Michael Evans, and their four kids.

Dieter was the easygoing friend who somehow managed to stay out of most of the drama. Post-show, he kept things just as low-key, working as a high-end hospitality executive in New York City. He shares two children, Nico, 7, and Leni, 3, with wife Isa

Taking to Instagram to reflect on the reunion, he wrote in part, “I was born and raised in Laguna Beach and my love for the town is only surpassed by my appreciation for these friendships, many that go back to first grade. These lasting bonds of 30+ years are very unique and as life goes on I appreciate them more and more. The show experience only made them stronger.”

Christina went on to attend the University of Southern California and became a certified fitness instructor back in Laguna Beach. “After graduation, I heard about a position as a fitness instructor and I thought, ‘Hey! I can do that!’ So I went for it, and was hooked!” she shared on her website.

She’s now married with three children.

Now a married mother of two, Lauren left the spotlight behind after Laguna Beach. “Essentially, for me and my reality, I’m living the dream,” she told Us Weekly. “Nothing too crazy or exciting. … I kind of just like having a very normal existence.” She occasionally offers advice on Instagram in a segment she calls “Hoosie’s Hotline.”

The artsy, politically aware senior of the group, Trey always felt a little more mature than the rest. He went on to attend Parsons School of Design in New York City and had a 15-year career in fashion, including many years as an associate designer for Vera Wang, before leaving his long-time profession behind. His new endeavor? An app called Method Cooking, which offers a fresh approach to recipes.

On Feb. 19, 2026, he started a 50-day Instagram challenge wherein he’d give followers updates and reflections on his new venture.

On Day 4, he wrote, "I remember gut-checking myself about changing direction - leaving the safety of being an expert for the unknown of starting from nothing. Especially at 39. But pieces of my old life came with me. Skills in the bag I carry on the journey, like sketching. And as I’ve dedicated myself to this vision, the new skills I’ve picked up are things my old self would never have believed possible. Change brings growth. The unknown brings confidence. If you love it, believe it.”

The ‘Malcolm in the Middle’ Cast Reunites: Where Are They Now?

Fri, 04/10/2026 - 9:57am

Nearly two decades after Malcolm in the Middle went off the air, the cast is back together for a revival.

Like the original series, Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair revolves around Malcolm (Frankie Muniz), a genius kid—now grown man—whose chaotic family continues to turn his life upside down.

The four-part limited series, which premieres on Hulu and Disney+ on April 10, 2026, reunites most of the main cast, including Muniz as Malcolm, Bryan Cranston as his bumbling dad, and Jane Kaczmarek as his domineering mom.

Ahead of the premiere, take a look at what the stars have been up to since the show went off the air on May 14, 2006.

The ‘Malcolm in the Middle’ Cast: Where Are They Now?Frankie Muniz (Malcolm)

As the child prodigy at the center of the show, Muniz carried Malcolm in the Middle for seven seasons, while also starring in movies like Big Fat Liar (2002), Agent Cody Banks (2003) and Racing Stripes (2005).

In the years since the series wrapped, he continued acting, with appearances on shows like Last Man Standing, The Rookie and Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens. But he also shifted gears professionally, pursuing a career as a race-car driver. Now 40, the married father of one competes on the NASCAR circuit in the Craftsman Truck Series and races for the Reaume Brothers Racing team.

Still, the Malcolm in the Middle reboot brought Muniz back to the screen—and he’s glad it did. “It was the first time in my entire life that, when I was done filming the reboot, I was happy to call myself an actor," he told People.

“Not to sound like cliché, but it was as if not a single day went by,” he shared. “All of us—every single person—like instantly fell back into their characters with, I’m talking the first table read.”

Looking ahead, Muniz teamed up with NEO Studios to produce an all-access docuseries—Frankie in the Fastlane (working title)—that will chronicle his lifelong dream of NASCAR racing.

"It’s not something that I thought I would ever do but it happened," he said of his racing career. "And now that I’m doing it, even when I got out of the car this past weekend, I called my wife and I said, ‘This is exactly what I was supposed to do.’ I feel the most comfortable in the car … It just feels like where I’m supposed to be and that’s a pretty cool feeling."

Bryan Cranston (Hal)

The cast member with the most dramatic post-show glow-up, Cranston went from playing endearing goofball Hal to starring as Walter White on Breaking Bad, a role that earned him four—count ‘em, four—Emmys.

Since then, he’s starred in films like Trumbo and Argo; taken the Broadway stage for Tony-winning roles in All the Way and Network; and returned to television in shows including Your Honor and The Studio.

But the genre-spanning actor never lost his affection for Hal. “Slipping back into that character of Hal for me was so rewarding—I missed him,” Cranston, 69, said of the revival. “...He’s really a lovable guy, and it was fun to see my whole family back together. It was great.”

Jane Kaczmarek (Lois)

For her role as no-nonsense matriarch Lois, Kaczmarek earned seven consecutive Emmy nominations for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series—without ever taking home the award (a record).

After the show ended, she starred in the short-lived TNT series Raising the Bar, playing hard-line judge Trudy Kessler opposite Mark Paul Gosselaar, and guest starred on series like The Big Bang Theory, This Is Us and The Changeling

She’ll next reprise her role as Lois and, from there, have a recurring part in Netflix’s supernatural mystery series The Boroughs, produced by Stranger Things creators the Duffer Brothers

Meanwhile, off camera, she’s living out a real-life fairytale: In March, she married her high-school sweetheart, Rusty Long, after decades apart and a 16-year marriage to actor Bradley Whitford that ended in 2009. “There’s one Linda Ronstadt song, ‘I think I’m gonna love you for a long, long time,’” Kaczmarek told People. “I mean, for 50 years that song always took me back to Rusty Long.”

Christopher Masterson (Francis)

Following his turn as rebellious older brother Francis, Christopher Masterson found a second career as a DJ, performing at clubs and events around the world. He’s also popped up on screen here and there, with guest roles on White Collar and Men at Work, but he's hardly a working actor. Before the Malcolm in the Middle revival, his most recent on-screen role was in the 2019 Netflix thriller Beneath the Leaves.

Off-screen, he married actress Yolanda Pecoraro in 2019, and the couple welcomed a daughter two years later. In 2023, his brother, That ’70s Show star Danny Masterson, was convicted of two counts of forcible rape and sentenced to 30 years to life in prison.

Justin Berfield (Reese)

Known for playing Malcolm’s immature big brother Reese, Justin Berfield transitioned from acting to producing after the show ended, co-founding TV-and-film production company Virgin Produced. He also shares two children with his wife of nearly 10 years, Liza Almeida.

After wrapping on Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair, Berfield marked the occasion on Instagram. “We’re so lucky that we got to come back to these characters after 20 years and see where they’ve been,” he wrote. “I had so much fun getting to go back to my old life as an actor…now it’s back to carpools and diapers!”

View this post on Instagram Erik Per Sullivan (Dewey)

Erik Per Sullivan, who played the quirky and musically gifted Dewey, stepped away from acting entirely after the show and chose not to reprise his role in the revival.

Recalling his conversation with Sullivan, Cranston said on an episode of Fly on the Wallwith Dana Carvey and David Spade, "I talked to Erik and I said, 'Hey, we got the show! It's going to come back.' He goes, 'Oh, that's fantastic!' And I go, 'Yeah, so we're looking forward to having you back.' He goes, 'Oh, no, no, I don't want to do it. But it's fantastic.’”

Offering insight into what Sullivan is up to these days, Cranston added, "He's actually going to Harvard. He's really, really smart, and he's getting his master's at Harvard right now. He said, 'Oh God, no, I haven't acted since I was 9 or something. So I'm not into it.'”

The role of Dewey will be played by Caleb Ellsworth-Clark.

Here’s Exactly What Happens to Your Blood Pressure When You Eat Lentils

Fri, 04/10/2026 - 9:50am

No one wants to be told that their blood pressure is high. Hearing this means it’s time to make some changes to your diet and overall lifestyle. While medications can play an important role in managing blood pressure, there are a lot of day-to-day factors that can influence your blood pressure and heart health.

You likely already know what this means. It means making sure you’re regularly doing cardio-based exercise (the American Heart Association advocates for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical exercise a week) and going easy on processed meats, salty foods, fried foods and soda.

Related: The One Thing You Should Never Do Immediately After Waking up if You Have High Blood Pressure

If you currently have high blood pressure or are actively doing what you can to keep it in a healthy range, you may already know about the DASH diet, which is an acronym that stands for Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension. The DASH diet was based on research funded by the National Institutes of Health with the goal of determining which dietary habits were most effective in lowering blood pressure.

The DASH diet recommends eating a diet consisting primarily of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meats and some healthy fats. One of the biggest changes that people make when switching from a standard American diet to the DASH diet is eating less meat and more plant-based proteins. Lentils are one plant-based protein that’s a cornerstone of the DASH diet.

If eating lentils regularly is a new habit for you, it’s natural to wonder how eating this one food more impacts blood pressure. We talked to registered dietitians specializing in the DASH diet to find out.

How Eating Lentils Impacts Blood Pressure

Abbie Gellman, RD, CDN,a registered dietitian and the author of The Mediterranean DASH Diet, says that lentils are a very beneficial food for managing blood pressure as well as supporting heart health overall. One major reason why: its fiber content.

Gellman explains that foods high in fiber support heart health by fighting inflammation. “Eating enough fiber has been linked to lower levels of C-reactive protein, which is used to track inflammation. Lower inflammation is better for the body and linked to a lower risk of heart attack,” she says, adding that fiber-rich foods, like lentils, also help lower LDL “bad” cholesterol as well as decrease blood pressure.

Related: 'I'm a Cardiologist—Here's How To Know When You Should Go on Blood Pressure Medication'

Melissa Caiola, RDN, a cardiovascular registered dietitian with DukeWELL, says that scientific research shows that diets high in plant-based proteins, like lentils, are associated with a lower risk for high blood pressure and heart disease when compared to a meat-centric diet.

“Plant foods contain fiber, vitamins and minerals, and are lower in saturated fat, which in large amounts can increase LDL cholesterol. Adding in some plant-based sources of protein can help to promote heart health and help to stretch your protein budget as they tend to be more cost-effective than traditional animal proteins,” Caiola explains.

When it comes to how eating lentils impacts blood pressure specifically, she tells Parade that they do not impact blood pressure immediately after eating them. “The only food that can significantly affect blood pressure immediately after consuming would be salt. This nutrient can increase blood pressure,” Caiola says.

Related: The Common Blood Pressure Mistake Cardiologists Are Begging People To Avoid

With this in mind, make sure that the lentils you’re buying do not have added salt (which is common in canned foods). “Long-term management for high blood pressure includes a low-sodium diet and the American Heart Association recommends limiting sodium to less than 1,500 milligrams a day,” Caiola says.

If you start eating lentils consistently, both dietitians say it can be beneficial for supporting blood pressure long-term. “Eating lentils in place of meat will increase nutrients like fiber, potassium and magnesium, which can be beneficial in blood pressure management. With this change alone, blood pressure can see improvement,” Caiola says. However, she emphasizes that what matters most is maintaining a nutrient-rich, balanced diet overall.

“The good news is that to reap the benefits of fiber-rich foods like lentils, you don’t need to replace all the foods you enjoy. I suggest adding these nutrient-rich foods to meals you already eat, like soups, chilli and pasta salads,” Caiola recommends.

Other Health Benefits of Lentils

What’s great about integrating a heart-healthy food, like lentils, into your diet is that your entire body will benefit. Both dietitians say that lentils aren’t just good for the heart; they benefit the gut and brain too.

Scientific research shows that the fiber in lentils increases the amount of good bacteria in the gut, helps lower inflammation and is beneficial for weight management. Additional research shows that the fiber, antioxidants, protein and folate in lentils help lower inflammation in the brain and can even play a role in lowering the risk of Alzheimer’s disease.

Gellman and Caiola both say that eating lentils helps keep blood sugar levels steady as well. This means it’s a great food for maintaining balanced energy and mood. Caiola points out that the protein and fiber in lentils help with satiety, helping to stay full longer.

“Lentils, and legumes in general, are a very cost-effective way to pack in nutrition,” Caiola says. As long as you aren’t adding a lot of salt to them when you’re cooking, they’re a great way to support your entire body, including keeping your blood pressure in check.

This is one food your cardiologist will definitely approve of!
