There aren’t many television series that so viscerally capture the grit and grind of a summer cattle drive like Rawhide, CBS’s late-’50s ratings juggernaut starring Clint Eastwood as a young trailhand ushering a herd across the blistering American West. But while most fans remember Eastwood as a cowboy, a movie star, and an Oscar-winning director, he was also a No. 1 hitmaker, most famously because of his duet with Merle Haggard, “Bar Room Buddies.”

In July 1980, Eastwood and Haggard rode all the way to the top of Billboard’s Hot Country Singles Chart with their honky-tonk duet. A jukebox ballad elevated by a pedal steel guitar, the track features the gravelly contrast of Haggard’s legendary twang with Eastwood’s spoken-word rasp.

As the two men trade lines, the song becomes a live conversation, as if they're drinking buddies having a chinwag at their favorite dive bar. “I think you can say that Merle Haggard had a hit and sort of dragged me along,” Eastwood later told Rolling Stone.

Released via Elektra Records in April 1980, “Bar Room Buddies” was the lead single on the soundtrack for Eastwood’s film Bronco Billy, in which he starred as the head of a traveling Wild West show. The track reached the No. 1 spot on the country chart on July 26, 1980.

Following the successful duet, Eastwood teamed with Ray Charles for “Beers to You,” also part of the Bronco Billy soundtrack. But these two collaborations weren’t the first time Eastwood dipped into the country music world.

During his early recording career, Eastwood released one traditional solo music album alongside live and compilation projects tied to his film work, beginning in the 1960s, when Eastwood was starring in Rawhide. This aforementioned small-screen western series ran from 1959 to 1965.

The actor released a string of singles including “Cowboy Wedding Song” and “Rowdy,” both appearing on his albumRawhide’s Clint Eastwood Sings Cowboy Favorites released in 1963.

According to Taste of Country, the TV and movie legend also “drenched several of his late ’70s and early ’80s films in country music,” helping introduce country hits to wider audiences by featuring them prominently in his films.  

In 1978, he helped Mel Tillis and Eddie Rabbitt score No. 1 hits with “Coca-Cola Cowboy” and the title track from his blockbuster film Every Which Way But Loose, and in 1980, he boosted David Frizzell and Shelly West to the top with “You’re the Reason God Made Oklahoma” from his filmAny Which Way You Can.

Eastwood didn’t release another album of his own until the late ’90s when he unleashed Eastwood After Hours: Live at Carnegie Hall.

According to American Songwriter, Eastwood’s greatest contribution to country music came in 2018, when he inspired Toby Keith to write the single “Don’t Let the Old Man In.” Inspiration for the song came when Eastwood told Keith how he manages to keep up the grind in his '80s: “I just get up every morning and go out. And I don’t let the old man in,” he said.

Eastwood then featured the song in his award-winning 2018 film The Mule, which he starred in and directed.

Now 96, the screen and music legend doesn't show any signs of riding off into the sunset.

Finally, famed Looney Tunes Cartoons desert chases between Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner will return to the big screen.

You might remember that the Warner Bros. Animationmascots were introduced as cartoon shorts screened before WB motion pictures in the heyday of cinema. The slapstick adventures of Bugs Bunny, Tweety Bird, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam, and the rest of the gang would go on to become nostalgic Saturday morning cartoons on television for over half a century. So it's good to see them back on the big screen where they belong, with a feature film that was almost canceled and meant to never see the light of day.

Thankfully, that's no longer the case with the upcoming release of Coyote vs. ACME on August 28th, thanks to Ketchup Entertainment. The movie centers around what would happen if Wile E. Coyote were to sue the ACME Corporation for all the faulty traps it sold him in his hunts for one very fast Road Runner. It's a live-action and animation hybrid movie starring John Cena (Little Brother), Will Forte (The Four Seasons), and Lana Condor (To All the Boys I've Loved Before), and the voice talents of this generation's Looney Tunes stewards Eric Bauza, Jeff Bergman, and Candi Milo.

So if you also love movies like Who Framed Roger Rabbit, this wacky, action-packed courthouse battle of the ages is for you. Just take a look at the final trailer for the movie from Warner Bros., almost cast into oblivion by way of digitally dipping it to be deleted forever for money.

The fact that we are getting Coyote vs. ACME is a miracle and a monumental win for every generation that grew up on the Looney Tunes. For starters, the movie was shelved as a tax write-off back in 2023, which led to massive social media outrage; according to the Hollywood Reporter, it was a casualty of structural changes in leadership, "deciding against releasing that movie theatrically." Thus, it was doomed to be canceled alongside several other planned Looney Tunes features, including the fully animated Porky Pig and Daffy Duck double-hander The Day the Earth Blew Up.

After it was screened for the industry and media in the hopes of shopping it to other major studios by director Dave Green (Earth to Echo) and his team, hope was almost lost until Ketchup Entertainment stepped in. The independent studio had just come off a modestly successful run, which, based on Box Office Mojo stats, made $15.48 million worldwide after having acquired The Day the Earth Blew Up. The feature-length animated film was the first casualty of the WB's cancellation spree and ended up being critically acclaimed, embraced by the media and fans alike.

More than a decade after it first reached bookshelves, Colson Whitehead's Zone One is receiving another major honor.

The acclaimed 2011 novel has been included on Pan Macmillan's list of the 50 best books of all time, placing it alongside literary classics by authors such as George Orwell, Toni Morrison, Jane Austen, and Gabriel García Márquez. The recognition is the latest accolade for Whitehead, one of the most celebrated novelists of his generation.

Originally published in 2011, Zone One marked a bold departure for Whitehead.

Set in the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse, the novel follows Mark Spitz, a civilian tasked with helping clear lower Manhattan of the remaining infected as society struggles to rebuild. While the premise draws from classic horror fiction, the novel is equally concerned with grief, memory, trauma, and the routines people cling to in the wake of catastrophe.

"I grew up watching B-movies, horror movies, science fiction movies, reading a lot of horror comics, Stephen King, H.P. Lovecraft, and it was those different influences that made me want to write in the first place," Whitehead told Interview Magazine. "You know, if you’re a writer, you can stay at home and think up weird crap, so it seemed like a good job when I was a kid. I always knew I would eventually write something in the horror or science-fiction vein, and it just seemed time."

Critics praised the book for elevating the zombie genre into something far more literary.

"If you're writing a detective novel or horror or sci-fi, you want to expand or reinvigorate the genre in your own little way," Whitehead told The Guardian. "I guess my wrinkle here is the straggler zombie. Instead of trying to devour everybody, as you understand from pop culture, they're emotionally connected to moments in their past. They try to seek out places they're neurotically attached to: places where they worked, lived, had fun in once."

Rather than focusing solely on survival and action, Whitehead uses the apocalypse as a lens through which to examine modern life, blending sharp social commentary with dark humor and philosophical reflection. The result is a novel that appeals not only to fans of speculative fiction but also to readers who might never ordinarily pick up a zombie story.

Zone One arrived well before Whitehead reached the pinnacle of his literary career.

In the years that followed, he became one of the few authors ever to win the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction twice, earning the honor for The Underground Railroad in 2017 and The Nickel Boys in 2020. Those novels became international bestsellers and cemented his reputation as one of America's most important contemporary writers, but Zone One remains a favorite among readers for its originality and genre-defying ambition.

The inclusion on Pan Macmillan's list underscores the novel's enduring reputation.

Named alongside universally recognized classics spanning centuries, Zone One stands out as one of the more recent books to earn a place on the list, demonstrating how profoundly it has resonated with readers and critics alike.

Fifteen years after its publication, Zone One continues to prove that great literature can emerge from unexpected places. What began as an unconventional post-apocalyptic novel has grown into a modern classic, earning recognition among the greatest books of all time and further solidifying Colson Whitehead's remarkable literary legacy.

Fans of '70s rock have a reason to celebrate.

Blair Thornton, the guitarist and songwriter best known for his years with Bachman-Turner Overdrive, turns 76 on July 23. Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, in 1950, Thornton became part of the Canadian rock group's most successful lineup and helped create music that remains beloved well beyond the 1970s.

Before BTO, Thornton played with the British Columbia group Crosstown Bus. His biggest opportunity came in early 1974 when he replaced founding guitarist Tim Bachman during the tour behind Bachman-Turner Overdrive II, joining Randy Bachman, Fred Turner and Robbie Bachman.

Thornton's arrival gave Randy Bachman another skilled lead guitarist to work alongside. The two could trade parts and play twin-guitar leads, opening up new possibilities for the band as it prepared its next record. Thornton also contributed backing vocals and quickly became involved in the songwriting.

His first BTO album, Not Fragile, arrived later that year and became the band's biggest release. It reached No. 1 in both the United States and Canada, sold eight million copies and included "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet," which topped charts around the world. Thornton wrote two songs for the album, including the instrumental "Freewheelin'."

He continued contributing as BTO followed its breakthrough with Four Wheel Drive and Head On in 1975. Thornton co-wrote the title track from the former and helped write "Take It Like a Man," which became the group's final Top 40 hit in the United States.

When Randy Bachman left in 1977, Thornton moved into the primary lead guitarist role. He remained through the end of the band's original run, then returned for a reunion in 1988. Thornton later toured with Fred Turner, Robbie Bachman and Randy Murray in a lineup that stayed together until 2004.

Thornton reunited with Randy, Robbie and Turner in 2014 when BTO entered the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. The occasion brought the four musicians together on the JUNO Awards stage for the first time in years.

"Bachman-Turner Overdrive's unforgettable music impacted people worldwide and continues to resonate with music fans today," CARAS president Melanie Berry said when the induction was announced.

Thornton has kept a low public profile in recent years and is not part of the current touring version of BTO. Still, his guitar and songwriting remain attached to the records that took the band to its greatest heights, giving rock fans plenty to celebrate as he turns 76.

When the Bee Gees released "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart" in 1971, they were entering a new chapter as a band.

Following a period of internal tensions and a temporary split, brothers Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb reunited and quickly rediscovered the songwriting chemistry that had made them stars.

"Before we ever became famous were the best times of our lives," Barry Gibb later told The Irish Times of the reasons for the break. "There was no competition; it didn’t matter who sang what. When we had our first No. 1 [in the U.K.], 'Massachusetts', Robin sang the lead, and I don't think he ever got past that; he never felt that anyone else should sing lead after that. And that was not the nature of the group."

One of the first results of the songwriting sessions following their reunion was "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart," a timeless ballad that Barry and Robin famously wrote in about 60 minutes, and one that would become one of soft rock's defining anthems.

The song came together with remarkable speed.

Despite the short writing session, the brothers crafted a deeply emotional song about heartbreak, healing, and longing that would resonate with listeners around the world for decades to come.

Released as the lead single from the Bee Gees' album Trafalgar, "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart" quickly struck a chord.

The heartfelt ballad climbed to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the Bee Gees' first chart-topping single in the United States. While the group had already enjoyed international success throughout the 1960s, the achievement marked a major turning point, reestablishing them as one of pop music's premier songwriting acts before their blockbuster disco era arrived later in the decade.

The song also showcased a different side of the Bee Gees.

Filmmaker Daniel Kwan Explained Why He Was Interested in Making a Movie About the Multiverse

The movie, which has a score of 93 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, focuses on Evelyn Quan Wang (Michelle Yeoh) unexpectedly navigating the multiverse. The film's co-directors and co-writers, Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, discussed what led them to make a film about multi-universes during a 2023 panel at the Lincoln Center.

Kwan explained that he became familiar with David Lewis' concept of modal realism after watching the 1986 documentary Sherman's March. Kwan said that he and Scheinert let the idea "percolate" and shot "a couple short films" regarding the multiverse.

In addition, Kwan said one of the reasons he's "drawn to" the idea of multiple universes is because of his ADHD diagnosis.

"I realize now I have ADHD and every time I see an image, my brain just instantly refracts it into 100 different possibilities, like, I don't know why my brain does that, and it's very overwhelming all the time, but I find a lot of comfort in organizing the chaos, and so the multiverse and the idea of infinity is so fascinating to me," said Kwan during the panel.

Kwan referenced that the film also has quiet, tender moments about Evelyn's connection with different versions of her husband, Waymond Wang (Ke Huy Quan), and their daughter, Joy Wang (Stephanie Hsu). He said he believed that in the present day most people feel "completely immobile" by having to make decisions, which makes them want to "escape in social media or in our work."

"This film is us trying to refocus our priorities and figure out, 'Okay, how do we pay attention to the things that truly matter? How do we pay attention to the ones we love?' Because in a world that has weaponized and kind of tried to profit off of our attention, one of the most beautiful, powerful things you can do is give someone that attention, to pay attention," said Kwan. "It's literally a toll that you're paying, and if you can pick and choose the right people to pay attention to or the right things to pay attention to, that's such an important thing for all of us to learn how to do right now. And this film was us exploring that through the multiverse."

There are three things guaranteed in the world today: Death, taxes, and Jeopardy! being on. Believe it or not, the iconic game show has been on the air for over 60 years (though the modern incarnation we know and love technically debuted in 1984). Under the watchful eye of Ken Jennings (who himself was a record-breaking champion), Jeopardy! puts three people's trivia skills and reflexes to the ultimate test. And so many of the greats to grace those podiums started by simply watching the show as it aired on weekdays, as millions have done for over half a century.

Another day, another new champion. 

It was a close game, as Zach and Riggle were head-to-head at the end of the final DJ round, with $24,000 each, while Ziegler trailed behind with $12,800. 

The scores meant that anything could happen in the FJ round, coming down to the wagers and correct answers. 

Ultimately, Riggle, who wagered $23,801 and was the only contestant who answered correctly, nearly doubled his score for the winning total of $48,000 and the “new champion” title, defeating Zach, who wagered $1,601 and got it wrong (“Who is George Eliot”), dropping down to a second-place spot with $22,399. 

Ziegler wagered $12,800, got it wrong with the same answer as Zach, and left with $0. 

Riggle will be back on Friday for attempt number 2.

Fans of General Hospital have been curious about how the show would handle the absence of Maxie Jones, with Kirsten Storms sharing she would not be working. Given the character's rich history and ties to the show, she was clearly missing from the canvas, but today the show finally shared what it plans to do with the beloved legacy character.

During the July 23, 2026 episode, General Hospital fans learned that Tracy (Jane Elliot) revealed that Maxie had divested all of her stock in Deception, the legacy company that she worked at with the Quartermaine family.

Elsewhere in Port Charles, Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) revealed to his girlfriend Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) that Maxie’s ex-Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) had accepted a new job in Australia and that Maxie and the kids would be moving with him.

Storms joined General Hospital in 2005 as Maxie Jones, assuming the role following Robyn Richards' exit in 2004. Storms had just come off a successful run on Days of Our Lives where she played legacy character Belle Black, the daughter of John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall), so she was prepared to take on the role of Frisco Jones (Jack Wagner) and Felicia Jones (Kristina Wagner)'s daughter.

In 2011, Storms left the role due to an extended medical leave, with actress Jen Lilley filling in during her absence. Storms would return to the series in September of 2012.

On July 7, 2025, Storms took to Instagram to reveal that she had relocated her family to Tennessee and had already filmed her final episodes of the year. The door was open, and she looked forward to returning in the future, but needed this time to reset.

Storms then revealed in January of 2026 that she had returned to filming. During her time away, on-screen Maxie’s dead husband Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) returned from the dead. Only, it was later revealed that Nathan wasn’t actually alive; rather, it was Nathan’s identical twin brother, Cassius Faison, who had assumed his identity.

Following a brief return to the screen, Storms revealed on social media that she was experiencing numerous incidents involving an alleged stalker. During this time, she would no longer be filming with the soap opera. "Given what's been going on, I can't say that I feel comfortable heading back to Los Angeles and returning to work. This has been an eye-opening experience about the downside of my profession."

Elsewhere, it was revealed that Storms' ex-husband Brandon Barash had raised legal concerns over Storms' mental health and was seeking an emergency restraining order to protect their child, Harper Rose.

While the door appears to be left open for the character to return one day, fans will have to stay tuned to see if and when that happens, and who will be portraying the role if Maxie does return to Port Charles.

Dinah Manoff and Didi Conn won the hearts of movie-goers in the role of Frenchy and Marty in 1978’s Grease. But in the present day, the beloved actresses are still going strong!

Conn, 75, nabbed her third film role ever in Grease, playing the famed beauty school dropout and member of the Pink Ladies alongside Olivia Newton-John and Stockard Channing. She had a resurgence in children’s television thanks to her role alongside Ringo Starr on Shining Time Station. More recently, she appeared on the FOX series Best Medicine, in which she plays Geneva Potter, a senior Port Wenn resident.

Manoff, 70, went on to roles in the hit series Empty Nest in the '80s and '90s, which was a spinoff of The Golden Girls. She also starred on the cult-favorite family series State of Grace, which launched the careers of Alia Shawkat and Mae Whitman. She released her first novel, The Real True Hollywood Story of Jackie Gold, in 2021.

But together, the duo reunited with fellow Grease co-stars Lorenzo Lamas, Barry Pearl, and Jamie Donnelly, and had a great time singing together. Check out the video below:

Did Didi Conn and Olivia Newton-John Remain Friends?

Yes! On the first day on the Grease set, Newton-John was extremely nervous, but Conn used improvisation to help her relax.

“The first scene in the movie was her scene of walking onto the campus of Rydell with Frenchy, and she was nervous,” Conn told PEOPLE last year. “There we were so many, many, many times, she said how grateful she was that we had so much fun and that I just pulled her right into it.”

In the decades after the film came out, Conn and Newton-John remained in close touch, with Conn calling Newton-John “just so sweet and beautiful.”

“I lived in Malibu on the bottom of Big Rock, and she lived on the top of Big Rock, so I’d see her a lot,” Conn shared of her friend, who died in 2022 from metastatic breast cancer. “I miss her.”

Back in February, Deadline announced that Conn would be heading to a guest-starring role on Elsbeth. Conn will tackle the role of Beverly Corman, the wife-turned-widow of Barney Coleman, played by Perfect Strangers star Mark Linn-Baker. Her character is “determined to get justice for her late husband.” Joanna Gleason and Griffin Dunne will also join the cast.

The jury for the Lindsay Clancy trial has officially been seated.

Following four days of jury selection, 18 jurors and alternates have been selected to serve. The milestone came just hours after two previously seated jurors asked to be excused from the case.

"We came in to today with 17 seated jurors, one to go. But in court today, 2 previously seated jurors asked the judge to be excused. They were," said Boston 25 journalist, Bob Ward.

"So now, instead of one juror, they are looking for 3. And here’s a concern. Today’s jury pool was only about 70 as opposed to about 90 for Days 1-3. Out of the 70 today, 28 signaled they cannot be impartial. Yesterday, they went thru 30 potential jurors to seat one. They could not. Since jury selection began, 3 people who were selected for the trial have reconsidered and have asked the judge to be released. All three were excused," Ward continued.

"This is a major reason why the court is looking for 18 jurors: 12 deliberating jurors and 6 alternates. They are planning ahead in case jurors start opting out after testimony begins," he added.

Clancy has been charged with three counts of first degree murder after prosecutors allege that she strangled her three young children, Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, inside their home in Duxbury, Massachusetts, back in January 2023. Following the murders, Clancy jumped out of a second story window in a suicide attempt, that left her paralyzed from the waist down.

Clancy has pleaded not guilty to the charges, and her defense attorney Kevin Reddington, filed a motion stating a plan to pursue an insanity defense, arguing that she had been suffering from postpartum psychosis, according to The Patriot Ledger.

Opening statements will take place on Monday, July 27. The trial, which is expected to last four to six weeks, will be televised on CourtTV.

Well. Another day, another recall. Per a notice posted by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) on July 20, Unique Pharmaceutical Laboratories has voluntarily recalled four lots of cetirizine hydrochloride tablets over concerns of a potential cross-contamination with another medication, one that can have life-threatening consequences if taken by some consumers.

Here's what to know about the recall.

Cetirizine Hydrochloride Tablets Recalled

5 mg tablets of cetirizine hydrochloride were voluntarily recalled by Unique Pharmaceutical Laboratories. Medline Plus says that cetirizine hydrochloride, an antihistamine, is used to treat common allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy nose or throat and red, itchy and watery eyes.

The recall is due to a potential cross-contamination with the medication ranitidine. Medline Plus explains that ranitidine is used to treat conditions such as heartburn, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and ulcers.

According to the notice shared by the FDA, consumers with a hypersensitivity to the ingredients in ranitidine can experience "serious adverse events including severe hypersensitivity reactions and anaphylaxis that manifests as hypotension, dyspnea, difficulty swallowing, throat and facial edema, generalized pruritic, urticaria, and loss of consciousness," if they consume a cetirizine hydrochloride tablet contaminated with ranitidine. All of these side effects are "life-threatening," according to the FDA notice.

The potential cross-contamination was reportedly discovered by a pharmacy technician, who noticed a red dot on the cetirizine hydrochloride tablets and discoloration on other tablets.

The 5 mg tablets of cetirizine hydrochloride were distributed by Rising Pharma Holdings Inc. nationwide, in 100-tablet bottles. The specific bottles recalled include the following:

• Cetirizine Hydrochloride  Tablets USP 5 mg, Pack 100's HDPE container: Lot number GY825029 (10/28 expiration date)
• Cetirizine Hydrochloride Tablets USP 5 mg, Pack 100's HDPE container: Lot number GY825030 (10/28 expiration date)

The White House Correspondents’ Dinner is back on and has been rescheduled for this Friday, July 24th, at a new location: The Waldorf Astoria in Washington, D.C.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed during a July 23 press conference, “The President will attend the White House Correspondents Association dinner round two, celebrating free speech and the First Amendment alongside all of you members of the media.”

Leavitt continued, “ The President looks forward to finishing what he started before a despicable assassination attempt derailed the original event back in April, as we all know. And I encourage everyone watching tomorrow night to tune in for what promises to be a very entertaining and memorable evening.”

The original dinner, on April 25, ended prematurely after a gunman (suspect Cole Tomas Allen) broke through security checkpoints at the Washington Hilton and made an alleged assassination attempt on Donald Trump’s life. 

While the WHCA announced the rescheduled date in early June. At that time, the organization did not provide a list of administration attendees. In the initial statement, WHCA PresidentWeijia Jiang wrote, “We will not allow an act of violence to have the last words, especially during a year when we are reflecting on the 250th anniversary of America and everything we stand for.”

Eggs are a grocery list staple. Whether you're scrambling them for breakfast, baking cookies or meal prepping for the week, they're a product most shoppers don't think twice about.

But a newly announced recall has shoppers running to check their fridge. Federal health officials say millions of eggs sold under several popular store brands could pose a health risk, and checking the carton in your fridge only takes a minute. If you recently picked up eggs at a major grocery chain, it's worth making sure yours aren't included.

Which Eggs Are Included in the Recall?

Midwest Poultry Services has voluntarily recalled 1,589,577 dozen shell eggs — more than 19 million individual eggs — because they have the potential to be contaminated with salmonella enteritidis, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The recalled eggs were produced at farms in Texas between June 6 and July 3, with sell-by or best-by dates between July 20 and August 17, 2026. They were distributed to foodservice customers and retailers in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana.

The recalled eggs were sold at:

• Kroger stores in Texas and Louisiana
• Brookshire Grocery stores in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico and Mississippi
• Other smaller retail outlets in the affected region

The recall includes several store brands, including Kroger, Simple Truth, Brookshire's, Country Morning and Sunups.

To see if your eggs are affected, check the side of the carton for:

• Plant code P-1950 or 0840962
• Julian date 157 through 184
• A sell-by or best-by date between July 20 and August 17, 2026

What Shoppers Should Do Next

The company says it is not aware of any illnesses linked to the recalled eggs at this time. Midwest Poultry Services said it identified the issue through routine environmental monitoring and has temporarily stopped distributing fresh eggs from the affected Texas farms while the investigation continues.

If your eggs match the recall, don't eat them. Instead, return them to the store where you purchased them for a full refund or throw them away, according to the FDA.

Salmonella can cause serious illness, particularly in young children, older adults and people with weakened immune systems.

Symptoms may include:

• Fever
• Diarrhea
• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Abdominal pain

In rare cases, salmonella can spread into the bloodstream and lead to more severe complications.

If you've recently purchased eggs from Kroger, Brookshire's or another affected retailer, taking a minute to check the carton could help you avoid a recalled product. The plant code, Julian date and sell-by date are printed on the carton and can quickly tell you whether your eggs are part of the recall.

Sixty-five years after making his recording debut, Bob Seger is giving fans something they never expected: new music.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer has announcedFace the Promise: Expanded Edition, a remastered and expanded version of his 2006 comeback album that includes four previously unreleased songs. Due out Sept. 18, the collection marks the first time Face the Promise will be available on vinyl and streaming services, while also unveiling new tracks from the legendary singer-songwriter's vault.

Leading the expanded release is "Little Jane," which has already been made available as a preview of the collection. The reissue also includes three additional previously unheard songs, "Time," "Red Eye to Memphis," and "Let Me Try," giving fans their first taste of new Seger material in years. The album has been newly remastered by longtime collaborator Robert Vosgien and features updated artwork, a gatefold vinyl package, and a 12-page book.

Originally released in 2006, Face the Promise represented a major milestone in Seger's career.

The album arrived after an 11-year hiatus following 1995's It's a Mystery.

"I'd been doing it for 30 straight years, writing songs, making a record and touring and starting the process right over," Seger said in an interview. "Then I had the kids and [thought], you know, it might be a good time to slow down and watch them grow up — you're never gonna get another chance to see it."

Face the Promise debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 before earning platinum certification just three months later. Its lead single, "Wait for Me," also became a hit, proving that Seger's signature blend of heartland rock and blue-collar storytelling had lost none of its appeal.

The comeback held special significance for Seger himself.

Following his induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, he admitted the honor inspired him to return to the studio and make an album worthy of his legacy. The result was one of the strongest-reviewed releases of his later career and a reminder of why classics like "Night Moves," "Against the Wind," "Turn the Page," and "Old Time Rock and Roll" had made him one of America's most beloved rock artists.

Seger's career stretches back to 1961, when he began recording in the Detroit music scene as a teenager before rising to national prominence in the 1970s with landmark albums like Live Bullet and Night Moves. Since then, he has sold more than 75 million records worldwide and become the longest-tenured solo artist in Capitol Records' history.

Although Seger retired from touring in 2019, Face the Promise: Expanded Edition proves there's still more music to discover from one of rock’s greatest storytellers. Sixty-five years after his debut, the legendary songwriter is once again giving fans a reason to press play.

Over the course of its 57 years on television, the CBS daytime drama Guiding Light had many infamous storylines, with one of its most iconic airing on this day in 1990, as Reva Shayne Lewis (Kim Zimmer) drove her car off a bridge and was presumed dead.

Following the birth of her son Shayne Lewis, Reva was suffering from post-partum depression. To help relieve some stress, the Lewis family decided to go to Florida for a vacation.

Leading up to the storyline, CBS began promoting the crash. “For Joshua Lewis, his nightmare becomes a reality when Reva goes over the edge.”

In the storyline, Reva begins acting erratically and is seen driving her car along the incomplete Bahia Honda Bridge in the Florida Keys. Josh (Robert Newman) is forced to stand and watch as Reva drives off the end of the bridge as she screams, “I’m coming, Bud!”

Speaking to the Television Academy Foundation, Zimmer revealed that the reason behind her 1990 exit was that she felt she was “burnt out,” adding that she had three children at home and “was spending more time with my TV family than my real family.”

Zimmer added, “I just thought there's something wrong with this picture, plus I was 35, and I had never as many times as I had been out to LA I'd never really throw myself into looking for work out there so I thought I'm 35 this is like at 35 years old this is my last shot.”

So for five years, Zimmer worked in L.A., filming guest stints on various programs ranging from Models Inc. to Santa Barbara and Babylon5, before realizing she didn’t enjoy working there

Thus, in 1995, while working on a play, Zimmer approached the then-head of Procter and Gamble about a return. She shared that while on the call, she stated, “I know that my character's dead, but if there's any interest in resurrecting the character, I would be interested’ and he said Are you kidding?” The Daytime Emmy-winning actress explained that she was serious about returning, which then-executive producer Jill Farren Phelps, who joined the show in 1991, wasn’t interested in. “I don't blame her at all for it,” Zimmer revealed.

But in the end, Procter and Gamble won out, and Zimmer returned to the show full-time, and, funnily enough, Phelps exited the show shortly thereafter.  

Zimmer would remain with Guiding Light until the final episode, which would air on September 18, 2009.

The Morning Show is set to conclude its run with season 5.

On Thursday, Apple announced that the hit series, starring and executive produced by Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston, will conclude in 2027, the Hollywood Reporter shared. The publication also noted that the cast and crew went into making season five knowing it would be the end of the show.

“From the beginning, Apple has supported our vision for The Morning Show, and we feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to tell stories that reflect what’s happening in the world around us with a twist of dark humor,” said Aniston in a statement. “It’s been such a privilege to work with this insanely talented cast, and our extraordinary writers, producers and crew. We’ve become such a family and we’re all so excited to share this final season. And going in knowing it would be our last, we were so fortunate to craft the conclusion with intentionality, and honor these characters the way they deserve.”

“The past nine years producing and acting in The Morning Show have been the honor of a lifetime. This was always more than a show about a newsroom — it was a show about why the newsroom matters," Witherspoon added. Sean Hayes Joined The Season 5 Cast

Sean Hayes, who rose to stardom as Jack McFarland on Will & Grace, is headed to The Morning Show for season 5.

The actor, 56, joins Aniston and Withspoon in a major recurring role as Wyatt, Brodie’s older brother, played by Boyd Holbrook, Deadline reported back in late March. Hayes’s joining the popular series reunites him with Aniston, who was on Friends during his tenure on Will & Grace, during NBC’s Must-See TV Thursday night lineup. It’s a sizable commitment for Hayes, who hasn’t done a lengthy run on a television show in some time.

Additional names joining The Morning Show for season five include Jeff Daniels, Reneé Rapp, and Jesse Williams.

What Has Sean Hayes Done Since Will & Grace?

While Hayes became a household name and scored an Emmy Award for his role as the flamboyant Jack alongside Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, and Megan Mullally on the beloved series, his resume in the years that followed was just as full. An acclaimed theater actor, he won the 2023 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play for his portrayal of Oscar Levant in Doug Wright's Good Night, Oscar. A seasoned producer, he also helms the popular comedy podcast SmartLess along with Jason Bateman and Will Arnett.

Hayes is currently making waves for his role in an Off-Broadway solo show, David Cale's play The Unknown, in which he tackles 11 different roles onstage.
