These Pretty Pink IKEA Lanterns Might Be Petite, but They Pack a Dreamy Punch

I will never get over a chic lantern moment in home decor. They instantly make a space feel dreamy and cozy at the same time—like the second you light one, everything slows down a little. Grabbing a lantern and heading out to the backyard for a quiet moment? It honestly feels like I've wandered into a scene from a Taylor Swift video, and I'm not mad about it.
While I love a big, statement lantern as much as anyone, there's something extra special about scattering a handful of smaller ones around. Line them along a patio, cluster them on a table, or dot them around a room, and they give this soft, twinkly glow that feels so romantic and relaxed.
FLODSVALA Lantern in pale pink, $9.99 at IKEAIKEA
Shop It!It's one of those simple decor moves that looks like you tried way harder than you actually did—which, let's be very clear, is the dream. And recently, I found a sweet little lantern that totally leans into that vibe in the prettiest way. It's the FLODSVALA Lantern in a pale pink, available at IKEA for $9.99.
This circular-shaped lantern is small, standing just 8 ¼-inches tall, but it's so cute. There's a holder inside to contain a tealight, so one single lantern won't light up your whole patio, but a few gathered near one another can provide a nice ambient glow.

The FLODSVALA lantern is new to IKEA in the U.S., but shoppers in other parts of the world have been enjoying its charm for a little while now. Like this customer from Germany who wrote this in their review.
"I love this lamp more and more," they said. "It's a completely different design to the usual lanterns. Dear IKEA, I'll be right there if it comes in a different color."
If you haven't been inside an IKEA lately, now is the time. It just released a reimagined version of one of its original 1960s swivel chairsthat customers are going bananas over. And there's a boho-style end table that looks way more expensive than its $149.99 price tag. (Plus there's concealed storage!) But my favorite IKEA department is always the outdoor section, which currently houses a set of sleek patio nesting tables. I'm not saying you have to run to IKEA right now, but I sure wouldn't dilly dally. This stuff won't be around for long.

Guy Fieri has issued a statement after he was seen mingling with the Tate Brothers at UFC 327.
"I’m seeing all of your comments about the photo from Saturday’s UFC event and all I can say is that I’m devastated," Fieri wrote on X. "I was there to see the fights and when I was walking through the venue, the Tate brothers stood up and said hello and that’s when the exchanged happened. I did not know them or about them before that moment."
"I’ll never pretend to be a perfect person but let me be crystal clear, I do not know the Tate brothers nor do I support them in any way," Fieri added.

Iconic '70s Rock Band Announces Update Amid 2026 Tour
Chicago has some exciting news for their fans.
This summer, the "rock and roll band with horns" will be on the road for their The Windy City Tour, which they will be embarking on around the United States and Canada from May to October. The series of concerts is set to start on May 1 at the Brandon Amphitheater, then conclude at Idaho Falls on Oct. 2. In between, Chicago is set to perform in various states, including Missouri, Louisiana, Georgia, Tennessee, California, New York and more.
On Monday, Chicago revealed via Instagram that they are adding a stop to their The Windy City Tour in Washington, and will be performing at the Washington State Fair Event Center in Puyallup, WA, on Sept. 26. The fair, which is held at the state's largest event center, is held every year at the grounds, where they have games, animals, rides and special performances.
Presale tickets went on sale on Tuesday morning, while general sale tickets will be available for purchase on Friday.
View this post on InstagramGrowing out of several bands from the Chicago area in the late 1960s, the original line-up of Chicago consisted of Peter Cetera, Terry Kath, Robert Lamm, Lee Loughnane, James Pankow, Walter Parazaider and Danny Seraphine. The group initially called themselves The Big Thing, then changed to the Chicago Transit Authority in 1968, and finally shortened the name to Chicago in 1969.
Since its formation in 1967, Chicago has released more than 25 studio albums and has sold over 40 million units in the United States. The lineup has changed multiple times, but its current members are Loughnane, James Pankow, Robert Lamm, Ray Herrmann, Walredo Reyes Jr., Neill Donell, Ray Yslas, Tony Obrohta, Eric Baines, Carlos Murguía and Justin Avery. In August 2023, members Lamm and Loughnane sat down with AXS TV and spoke about their secret to staying fresh and being a relevant group for more than 50 years.
"We are included in that very large category called 'Rock Band,' but when we started, we were influenced by soul bands in the Midwest," Lamm explained. "When we began playing our repertoire from that, in addition to playing rock tunes, we tried to arrange the cover songs for horns."
James Pankow plays trombone, Ray Hermann plays sax and Lee Loughnane plays the trumpet as the band Chicago performs at the Arena Monterrey on May 27, 2025 in Monterrey, Mexico.Medios y Media/Getty Images
Since then, Chicago has become one of the most successful and longest-running American rock bands, blending the genres of jazz, pop and classical. In 2016, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as well as having received 10 Grammy Award nominations, winning one for the song "If You Leave Me Now."
Tickets for their upcoming The Windy City Tour can be found on their official website. Tickets for their concert at the Washington State Fair will be available on Friday.

Nationwide Recall Issued for Cough Drops Due to Manufacturing Concerns—Here's What to Know
Despite the fact that fall and winter are peak cold and flu season, anyone with seasonal allergies knows that there's no stopping a runny nose. Even if you do somehow make it through the winter unscathed, as soon as the pollen starts blanketing everything, you'll probably need to keep a steady supply of tissues and cough drops on hand just in case you make the amateur mistake of going outside and actually inhaling. It's an unfortunate reality for a lot of us, but at the very least, we can rely on our trusty cocktail of antihistamines, Kleenex, and cough suppressants to help us make it through the season—right?
Well, kind of. For the most part, our go-to regimen of loading up on vitamin C, keeping a pack of tissues nearby at all times, and trying our hardest not to breathe too hard outside is exactly what we need to keep the sniffles and subsequent coughs at bay. But if you tend to reach for a cough drop to help soothe your throat and open up your nasal passages so that you can actually breathe outside, you might want to think twice before popping one into your mouth due to a recently issued recall affecting cough drops sold nationwide.

Related: Immediate Recall Issued on This Popular Pantry Staple for a Very Serious Reason
Oddly, the filing is relatively vague about the actual reason for the recall and simply cites that the FDA made "certain observations" that led to its recall recommendation. It's also worth noting that, to date, no sickness or adverse reactions have been reported. Currently, the recall is scheduled as a Class II, which the agency defines as "a situation in which use of or exposure to a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote."
What to Do If You Have Recalled Cough DropsWhile the best course of action if you have any of the affected brands or products is to stop taking them and throw them away, because the recall is scheduled as a Class II, according to the FDA, you can generally continue taking the medicine unless the recalling company provides other instructions. Personally, we'll look for an alternative. Or, you know, just seal ourselves inside a bubble until peak pollen season is over. To find out more about the recall, visit the FDA's website.

1976 Power Ballad Named No. 1 Hit Song Became a Breakup Anthem
Fifty years ago, the iconic 1970s soul group The Manhattans topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart with their hit breakup song, "Kiss and Say Goodbye."
Released in March 1976 as the lead single from their self-titled seventh studio album, "Kiss and Say Goodbye" became a massive breakthrough hit. After only eight weeks, the track climbed up the Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at No. 1 for two consecutive weeks. The song also topped the Billboard R&B chart, attesting to its wide reach.
"Kiss and Say Goodbye" quickly became the group's most commercially successful song. Shortly after its release, it was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for selling over two million copies, making it the third single in history to earn Platinum status (following The Association's "Windy"). This landmark success also aided the album's performance, with The Manhattans peaking at No. 16 on the Billboard 200.

Produced by Bobby Martin via Columbia Records, "Kiss and Say Goodbye" is recognizable for its spoken-word intro, powerful vocals and lush orchestration. The track's polished production made it a quintessential soul ballad, beautifully blending melodic harmonies and R&B elements. The melancholic nature of the production amplified the song's themes.
Written by the group's bass singer, Winfred "Blue" Lovett, "Kiss and Say Goodbye" captures the dramatic emotional experience of a breakup. It's rumored that the lyrics came to Lovett at 3 a.m., and despite being initially imagined as a country tune, it was transformed into the R&B slow jam that it is known as today. Lovett's lyricism articulates the grief of parting with a partner, creating a definite breakup anthem.
Although the track was released five decades ago, it remains a relevant hit. The themes present in "Kiss and Say Goodbye" continue to resonate with modern audiences, racking up millions of plays on streaming platforms. On Spotify alone, the song has garnered over 101 million streams, affirming its enduring legacy.

What Has the Artemis II Crew Been up To? A Dog Video, Thanking Families, and Sentimental Speeches
The world watched for 10 days as the Artemis II expedition launched from Earth and orbited around to the dark side of the moon. Going farther than any human in history, the crew made headlines daily. But now that they’re safely back on the Earth, what are these astronauts up to?
Whether you’re a superfan of space flight or just curious about these instant-celebs, you want to know how the four-person crew reunited with their kids, families, and even pets after their historic mission.
NASA astronaut and electrical engineer Christina Koch is a parent…that is, a pet parent. The crew member recently made headlines after a viral homecoming video surfaced on Instagram. And while she’s the only one of the four who doesn’t have human kiddos, her fur baby greeted her with as much gusto as an energetic tween.
View this post on InstagramThe video, taken from inside Koch’s home, shows her playful pup, Sadie, scratching at the door and barking. In all the excitement, Sadie rushes to pick up a toy and carries it to Christina. Next, the dog-mom gleefully gushes over the dog, dropping to her knees for a furry hug.
Koch also gives her public an update on how life’s going now that she’s back on solid land. In another clip, the astronaut and Sadie chase each other through the waves at the edge of a sandy beach. Of course, she didn’t only include videos and a pic. Christina also writes a sweetly sentimental caption, “I’m still pretty sure I was the happier side of this reunion. Sadie taught me everything I needed to know about being an emotional support animal. Didn’t expect that would come in handy.”
How did Koch’s crewmates greet their human kiddos? Commander Reid Wiseman recently posted a selfie (on Instagram) with his two daughters, Ellie and Katy. The simple caption, “Mission complete,” says it all.
View this post on InstagramFans and famous friends applauded the dad, showering him with praise. Former Today host Katie Couric commented, “I’m so inspired by your story, your girls, and the way you’ve honored your wonderful wife. Thank you for being a model of compassion and integrity when both are so sorely needed.” Along with well-wishes and accolades for the commander, another comment kind of says it all: “Our favorite girl dad.”
In their first public appearance after landing, the NASA astronauts spoke about the mission, with Wiseman saying, “No one knows what the families went through, man. This was not easy. Being 200,000-plus miles away from home…and when you’re out there, you just want to get back to your families and your friends.
Fellow crew member Victor Glover added to Wiseman’s statement, “I wanted to thank our families for everything he just said…I love you, but not just those five beautiful cocoa-skinned ladies right there. All of you.” And yes, he was talking about his wife Dionna Glover and their four daughters.
Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen also spoke at the welcome home event, saying, “I’ll start with gratitude for my family.” Hansen’s family includes his wife, Catherine, and three children, Devon, Ashley, and Katelyn.”

1992 No. 1 Hit Power Ballad Was Actually Written by a Country Music Legend
Whitney Houston was no stranger to runaway hits on the music charts, with her powerhouse voice rising to new heights in a seemingly effortless fashion. And while she made it to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart a whopping 11 times with classics like “How Will I Know” and “Saving All My Love For You,” there’s one that stands out above the rest.
Yes, we’re talking about “I Will Always Love You” from the soundtrack of The Bodyguard, where the pop diva made her big-screen debut playing a famous singer and actress opposite Kevin Costner as a former Secret Service agent and her bodyguard. The movie was a huge box office success, just like its soundtrack, which was anchored by the epic power ballad.

The 1992 song hit the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in November 1992 and spent 14 weeks there, quickly becoming closely associated with Houston. But what many fans may not know is that it was actually a cover.
Originally released in 1974, “I Will Always Love You” was first a country song written and performed by none other than music darling Dolly Parton. The story goes that Parton wrote it for her former music partner, Porter Wagoner, after deciding to part ways with him and strike out on her own instead of continuing to appear on his television show.

In 2023, Parton told Howard Stern that she was struggling to find a way to explain to Wagoner that while she was grateful for everything he had done for her, she needed to follow her destiny. “How am I going to make him understand how much I appreciate everything, but that I have to go? I thought, well, what do you do best? You write songs. So I sat down, and I wrote this song,” Parton said.
Wagoner gave her his blessing, going so far as to produce the track. It topped the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in 1974, and decades later, it became an even bigger smash through Houston’s soulful interpretation.

1998 Film Named ‘Best Disaster Movie of All Time’
Space is back at the box office. Project Hail Mary has made that much clear, becoming Amazon's biggest film to date. But long before Ryan Gosling was saving the world, Hollywood assembled an even more star-studded crew to do the same.
Looper has since called that film the "Best Disaster Movie of All Time," and it is hard to argue otherwise.
Bruce Willis, Liv Tyler, Ben Affleck, Billy Bob Thornton, Steve Buscemi and Owen Wilson teamed up for Michael Bay's Armageddon in 1998, a film that went on to join the Criterion Collection on DVD, earn four Academy Award nominations and remains one of the most-shown films on cable TV to this day.
When a meteor shower tears through several major cities, NASA head Dan Truman (Thornton) uncovers an even greater threat. An asteroid the size of Texas is on a direct path toward Earth, and he has a plan to stop it.
Truman turns to Harry Stamper (Willis), an oil driller who agrees to take his team into space after a crash course in astronaut training. Among his crew is A.J. Frost (Affleck), a driller who also happens to be secretly dating Harry's daughter, Grace (Tyler).
Years later, the cast still has plenty to say about the experience. Affleck recently found himself reminiscing when he bumped into Buscemi at the premiere for The Rip.
"We were reminiscing about that movie and thinking about how that was the weirdest, kind of wonderful, strange, otherworldly movie experience that neither one of us had any experience with anything like it, " he shared.
Both actors recalled feeling lucky to be part of such a cast, with Affleck singling out Willis as someone who was "really nice to everybody" on set.
That camaraderie translated directly onto the screen. The sci-fi epic earned two Saturn Awards and 15 total wins from 40 nominations, with recognition including Best Science Fiction Film and Best Director at the Saturn Awards, and a Best Original Song Oscar nomination for Aerosmith's "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing."
Despite the accolades, Bay himself has acknowledged the film's imperfections. Speaking to the Miami Herald in 2013, he said, "We had to do the whole movie in 16 weeks … It was a massive undertaking. That was not fair to the movie. I would redo the entire third act if I could.”
Adding to the pressure, his visual effects supervisor suffered a nervous breakdown mid-production, leaving Bay to oversee that department himself.
He later clarified his comments, explaining that the reporter had asked what he would change about his films if he could go back.
"I said, I wish we had a few more weeks in the edit room on ‘Armageddon,’” Bay said. "And still today ‘Armageddon' is still one of the most-shown movies on cable TV. And yes, I'm proud of the movie. Enough said."

'70s Rock Band Blondie Shares Announcement About Late Drummer's Posthumous Project: 'A True Force of Nature'
The memoir written by late Blondie drummer Clem Burke prior to his death last year at the age of 70 has a publication date.
The Other Side of the Dream: My Life in and out of Blondie will be published on May 7 in the U.K. and Sept. 8 in the U.S. by HarperCollins. The announcement was made in a joint post on the official Instagram accounts of Blondie and Burke.
“For anyone who knows pop culture and rock & roll, there was only one Clem—Clem Burke: a true force of nature, an unmistakable personality, an icon. His deeply personal memoir, The Other Side of the Dream (My Life In and Out of Blondie), is now available for pre-order,” reads the announcement. It was posted along with the book’s cover featuring a photo of the late drummer by Bobby Grossman, and a pair of drumsticks.
View this post on InstagramBurke’s onetime romantic partner and longtime friend Kathy Valentine of the Go-Go’s also shared the news in a post on her official Instagram account in which she urged fans to pre-order the book.
“This book was Clem’s last major work and testament to his life and I am so proud to have helped make sure it got finished and published,” she wrote. “@clem.burke would have been all over the place promoting and meeting fans and readers—he would have been great at this part and would have loved every minute of it.”
View this post on InstagramThe book features a foreward by former Saturday Night Livestar Fred Armisen.
Prior to Burke’s death, he and Blondie singer Deborah Harry remained the band’s only active original touring members.
Aside from performing in Blondie, Burke played briefly with the Ramones as Elvis Ramone and worked with a bevy of other artists including Eurythmics, Bob Dylan, Bob Geldof, Iggy Pop, Joan Jett, The Fleshtones, The Romantics, Dramarama, and the Go-Go’s.
When I interviewed Burke for TIDAL in 2022, he told me about the book in the works. “I've been working on a memoir, which is almost a cliche, because everyone's got a book, but I have been working on a memoir and eventually it will come out,” he said at the time.
Back in September 2025, Valentine revealed in her Substack that she helped oversee copy edits on Burke’s memoir. When contacted via email, she declined comment further until the book was officially announced by the publisher, but confirmed, “He worked on it for years. I’m just helping out."
During my 2022 interview with Burke, which was tied to the release of the Blondie boxed set, Against the Odds: 1974-1982, I mentioned to Burke that I once saw him browsing in the music books section of a Bookstar store in Studio City, Calif., but didn’t want to bother him.
When our interview was concluding, I asked the drummer if he had anything to add. “I’ll see you at the bookstore,” he responded.
With the publication of The Other Side of the Dream: My Life in and out of Blondie, we’ll all have a chance to see Clem Burke in a bookstore soon.
Loved ‘The Housemaid?’ Here Are 7 Books To Read Next
If you loved The Housemaid — both the book by Freida McFadden and the movie starring Sydney Sweeney — then you’ll certainly want to check out the sequel novel. There are many other novels by McFadden to continue with as well, including Ward D, The Teacher, and Never Lie.
You can also check out The Dinner Party, which was announced on April 1, making may people think that it was an April Fools prank. After all, this “Pick Your Poison” adventure is completely different to the novels McFadden has done in the past.
However, McFadden isn’t the only author to turn to when it comes to the twists and turns of The Housemaid. We have seven more picks that are sure to entertain.
‘The Silent Patient’ by Alex MichaelidesIf you love the twists where you start to question everything that you’ve already read, then The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides is the first place to start. The novel follows a woman who refuses to talk after the murder of her husband, and one criminal psychologist is on the war path to get her to open up.
Alicia Berenson was a famous painter with an amazing husband and life. So, then, why did she suddenly shoot him five times one night? She’s never said a word since, and Theo Faber is aiming to get her to open up. He needs to understand the mystery, and there’s a dark twist as to why.
‘The Perfect Marriage’ by Jeneva RoseI admit that I will pick up anything by Jeneva Rose, and it’s because of The Perfect Marriage. There is a sequel to this called The Perfect Divorce, although it’s not quite as good. The problem is that once you get to the twist at the end of the first book, you know all the secrets that are being harbored.
The Perfect Marriage follows Sarah Morgan, a powerful Washington D.C. attorney whose husband ends up on trial for murder. She’s willing to defend him, despite the victim being his affair partner. Will she be able to clear her husband’s name, or is there something more nefarious going on?
‘Then She Was Gone’ by Lisa JewellYou had to know that I would put Lisa Jewell on this list. She is one of the best when it comes to the genre, and Then She Was Gone proves it. Jewell is willing to deliver a story that we think we know and then turn it on its head.
When Ellie disappeared 10 years ago, her mother, Laurel had hope that she would be found. However, 10 years later, Laurel has started to give up hope. That is, until she ends up meeting Floyd and his nine-year-old daughter, Poppy, who is the spitting image of Ellie at that age. What really happened to Ellie, and will Laurel ever get answers?
‘The Paris Apartment’ by Lucy FoleyAfter The Guest List, I turned to The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley, and it was just as good. This locked room style thriller is told from multiple POVs, giving you a chance to get to know everyone. Of course, everyone has their secrets, and they don’t want the reader to know them all right away. If you read between the lines, you can just about figure out the clues.
When Jess arrives to the apartment building, she’s hoping to stay with her brother Ben. However, Ben is missing. While his whole life is still in his apartment — including his cat — Ben is nowhere to be found, and absolutely nobody wants to help Jess find him. It turns out that there is something dark happening within the apartment building, and secrets are about to be shared.
‘Rebecca’ by Daphne du MaurierThere are some excellent books of the past to delve into when you want a thrilling mystery. Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier remains to be one of the best. You’ve likely seen movie adaptations of the story, but now is the time to read the original telling.
When a young woman marries a wealthy widower, she knows that the ghost of his first wife, Rebecca, could come up. However, she’s not expecting the staff to find ways to keep the first wife alive. Soon, our narrator finds herself trapped in a house and a marriage where she doesn’t seem wanted, but what’s really going on?
‘The Rose Code’ by Kate QuinnKate Quinn has some excellent books with fun twists throughout. The Rose Code is one of my favorites, set in two timelines: during World War II and shortly afterward. We get a story of the important work that the women did at the time, but also a story of what can happen if you trust the wrong people.
It’s 1947, and Osla and Mab learn that there is someone who could threaten the nation. They need to work together to figure out one last code, and it turns out that it takes them back to a mystery they thought they had solved in 1940. It turns out that whatever they thought they knew at the time wasn’t the truth, and now they need to unravel it if they want to save their own lives and the life of their friend, Beth.
‘Everyone Here Is Lying’ by Shari LapenaWhile many of the thrillers involved women disappearing or being murdered, Everyone Here Is Lying by Shari Lapena is about a child who goes missing. Of course, eyes fall on her father, especially our eyes as he was the last person we think saw her. That being said, this is a town with many lies.
William is supposed to be a family man. That’s what the town thinks, but when his affair ends horribly, he ends up taking his mood out on Avery after she gets home from school. Hours later, Avery is declared missing, and now the whole town needs to find her. You’ll be trying to figure it out all the way to the end — and even then after!
‘Baby Jessica’ Who Was Rescued From a Well in 1987 Has Just Been Arrested
Jessica McClure Morales, who is now 40, made headlines when she was only an infant. The 18-month-old, who was known as ‘Baby Jessica,’ was rescued from a well that she had fallen into in her aunt’s backyard.
39 years later, on April 11, she was arrested in the state of Texas. According to TMZ, she is facing a criminal charge following an alleged domestic disturbance at her Midland County home that caused bodily injury involving violence. The outlet also reported that she was released from custody after posting bond.
As many remember, back in 1987, ‘Baby Jessica’ fell into an 8-inch wide well and was trapped 22 feet underground. The story drew nationwide attention with three major television networks covering her rescue. ABC, CBS, and NBC all interrupted their broadcasts to cover her story.
In real time, viewers across the country watched her get rescued from the well. The mission took 58 hours overall. Ronald Reagan, who was president at the time, said, "Everybody in America became godmothers and godfathers of Jessica while this was going on."

In 1988, ‘Baby Jessica’ appeared on Live withRegis and Kathie Lee with her parents to discuss the incident. In 1989, a movie was made about her story, which was called Everybody's Baby: The Rescue of Jessica McClure. It starred Beau Bridges and Patty Duke with many of the people involved in the rescue playing extras.
Jessica received a trust fund at age 25 in 2011, which consisted of thousands of dollars in donations from people who had watched her rescue. She allegedly stated that she planned to use the money to cover her children's college and to purchase her home. As of 2026, she now has several children and grandchildren of her own.
"In a way I guess it happened the way it was supposed to," she said in a 2017 interview. "I was picked on because of it, but most people are kind and think what happened is an amazing miracle. It is. I don't believe that any of it would've happened without God."

What ‘Temptation Island’ Fans Didn’t See of Scarlett and Bradley’s Connection
Scarlett Bentley and Cole Mueller went on Temptation Island Season 2 to prove that he can be faithful to her. But Scarlett felt like Cole, 27, had other issues to work on in the villa. They dated two years before the show.
There were some scenes of Scarlett talking to Bradley Bobbit in the women's villa. He teared up when they had to say goodbye before the final bonfire. A tempter revealed their relationship wasn't completely shown on Netflix.
Spoiler alert for the final bonfire!
Scarlett and Brad Were 'Seamless' on ‘Temptation Island' Peter Cipriano, Kaylee Needham, Bradley Bobbit, Scarlett Bentley, Xzavier Odom, Sydney McGregor, Braeden Holliday, Shyanne Blankenship in 'Temptation Island' Season 2The 30-year-old bartender talked about her anxiety throughout the process. Xzavier Odom said there was more that we didn't see.
"I don't really think they went in-depth as much with Brad and Scarlett's connection," Xzavier said on The Viall Files. "Like, they were locked in like early on. As far as two people, same age range, I don't know about similar upbringing, but same depth communication-wise and just values. They were a seamless pair as well."

"You f-cking get me," Scarlett told Bradley at a bar in episode 4. "I don't know if it's an age thing." Bradley said it could be, but they also had similar experiences.
Scarlett said in an interview that she learned the most about herself by spending time with the bartender. She wants the same type of conversations in her relationship with Cole.
Scarlett revealed that Cole withheld information from her weeks before coming on the show. She had to ask him if there would be girls on the outing. He revealed that one who was direct messaging him might come because he talked about his plans.
She was disappointed that Cole didn't talk to any of the girls in the men's villa to build that skill. Scarlett decided to leave the island single.

The Most Reliable Airline Amid All This Travel Chaos Might Surprise You
Air travel in 2026 feels less like a routine and more like a gamble with weather systems, crowded airspace, and unpredictable delays. For travelers, reliability has quietly become more valuable than upgrades, lounges, or loyalty perks.
That is why airline rankings like WalletHub’s annual study have become essential reading. Based on U.S. Department of Transportation data, these rankings evaluate airlines across 14 operational, safety, and customer-impact metrics, including cancellations, delays, and mishandled baggage.
And while legacy carriers like Delta often dominate reliability charts, another airline consistently surprises travelers in a different way: Spirit Airlines.
Don't miss a beat—subscribe now for trending travel updates and destination guides.
How Airline Reliability Is Actually Measured And Why Spirit Enters the ConversationWalletHub’s methodology is built on federal data from the U.S. Department of Transportation, which tracks real-world performance across every major airline in the country.
The key reliability indicators include:
- Flight cancellations per passenger
- Delay frequency
- Mishandled baggage rates
- Operational disruptions and denied boardings
These figures come directly from the DOT’s Air Travel Consumer Reports, which standardize airline performance across millions of flights each year. Where Spirit becomes interesting is not in leading these categories outright, but in how its low-cost operational model changes traveler expectations around predictability and price consistency.
Is Spirit Airlines Actually Reliable? Bankruptcy, Delays, and the Real TruthSpirit Airlines is often discussed as a “budget reliability gamble,” and the data shows a mixed picture. The airline ranked as the best overall airline in some years due to value weighting and cost efficiency, and ranked strongly in affordability and safety categories. But also, Spirit historically showed higher cancellation and disruption rates compared to top-tier carriers in DOT-based operational metrics
At the same time, Spirit has had strong performance in specific periods, including rankings highlighting improved on-time performance in parts of 2025, though results vary widely by route and season. The bigger concern is financial stability. Spirit filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November 2024 after years of losses and debt pressure. The airline exited restructuring in 2025 but filed again for bankruptcy in August 2025, signaling ongoing financial strain and competitive pressure. Reports have also noted route cuts, aircraft sales, and liquidity concerns during restructuring, though Spirit continues operating flights under court supervision.
So is Spirit reliable? Operationally, it is inconsistent compared to top carriers. Financially, it is unstable due to repeated bankruptcy filings. But it remains operational and continues flying passengers while restructuring. In Reddit-based traveler discussions, frequent flyers often describe Spirit as “fine if you understand the tradeoff,” while noting that cancellations vary by route density and airport.

The Full Reliability LandscapeTo understand Spirit’s place, it helps to compare it with the broader field of major U.S. carriers analyzed by WalletHub.
Delta Air LinesConsistently ranked the most reliable airline due to the lowest combined rates of cancellations, delays, and baggage issues.
Alaska AirlinesStrong operational consistency and low cancellation rates, often ranking near the top tier in reliability studies.
Southwest AirlinesPerforms well in cancellation metrics due to its point-to-point network but varies in baggage and delay performance depending on system strain.
United Airlines and American AirlinesLarge-scale hub networks create operational variability, leading to inconsistent delay and baggage performance across routes.
JetBlue AirwaysKnown for strong passenger experience but slightly lower operational reliability scores compared to top performers.
Fuel your wanderlust with our top travel stories—join our newsletter today.
Final TakeawaySpirit Airlines shows that reliability is not a single metric. It is a layered experience shaped by cost predictability, operational tradeoffs, route structure and passenger expectations.
In that sense, Spirit does not “win” traditional reliability rankings. But it does force a more honest question about modern travel: Are we measuring which airline performs best, or which airline aligns most clearly with what we are willing to accept?
This Is the First Thing You Should Do After Filing Your Taxes
For many, April means tax time, an annual reminder to get our personal finances in order and make sure we're giving Uncle Sam exactly what he's owed each year. However, this time of year serves as a great time to focus on another financial obligation: Retirement.
Experts say that spring is a great time to get your retirement plans in order with a spring cleaning session of sorts. Keep reading to find out what that means and how you can sweep the cobwebs out of your retirement accounts this year.
Why You Need to Spring Clean Your Retirement AccountsYou may already know that spring is a great time to give your home a deep cleaning, chasing out all of the dust bunnies and dirt that accumulated over the winter. But this time of year is also a great time to tidy up your retirement plans.
According to Merrill Lynch, it's a good idea to review your accounts and assets annually to ensure your money continues to work as hard as it can in your retirement accounts, especially as markets fluctuate throughout the year. Not only that, but this time of year is also a good one to take stock of your long-term plans and make sure what you're doing will help you get there. Whether that means tweaking how much you save, diversifying your investments, or simply making sure that you're not blowing too much of your money on account fees and expenses.
For example, many people could go years without checking their retirement accounts, only to discover that they aren't being as aggressive with their savings as they'd like, leaving too much money on the table over the years. Annual check-ins can help prevent that and help you course-correct when factors like inflation change your future retirement needs.

How to Spring Clean Your Retirement AccountsNow that you know why it's important to give your retirement accounts an annual once-over, here's how you should go about it. First, Merrill Lynch says it's important to know where all your money is. That means gathering your data on your current and previous assets and accounts.
According to them, the average American holds 11 jobs by the time they are 46, which means you could have 11 different 401(k) accounts out there gathering dust. Reviewing all the accounts you know about and ensuring they are optimized to meet your retirement goals each year can keep that money working for you rather than being forgotten.
Next, you'll want to see if you can consolidate those assets to secure a bigger payout. The financial firm says that this can not only help you to simplify the management of those assets, it can also reduce any plan fees you may be paying. Plus, it allows you to get a better picture of just how much you're saving, so you'll know if you're on track for retirement.

Talk to a ProfessionalOkay, I'm very guilty of being a DIY person, especially when it comes to my taxes. However, many people opt to pay an accountant for these services, because they trust the pros to know what they are doing. Next time you get ready to reach out to your accountant for help with your taxes, remember that now is the ideal time to jump onto a call or into a meeting with your financial advisor to talk about your retirement.
Not only can they help you with spring cleaning your accounts, but they can also review your goals and plans with you to verify whether you're on target for the retirement of your dreams, or if you still need to do a little more cleaning before you can achieve your perfect second act.

The Official Best Small Town in the Deep South Is Actually a Top-Tier Retirement Town
It's no secret that Florida is often considered the crown jewel of the South when it comes to retirement (even if it's not technically considered part of the true South). However, USA Today just released the name of this year's Best Small Town in the South, and the destination actually sounds like it could be perfect for retirees looking to flee the north without heading all the way down to the Sunshine State.
Keep reading to find out what makes this spot such an attractive one for seniors, and what you need to know if you're considering making a move here.
Starkville, Mississippi, Named 'Best Small Town in the South'The town of Starkville has just received top honors from USA Today, which named it as the Best Small Town in the South as part of its 10Best series. Starkville, which is also home to Mississippi State University, came out on top due to a lot of different factors, including:
- Thriving art scene
- Historic districts
- Natural areas that allow for outdoor activities like birdwatching
- Great food
- Ulysses S. Grant Presidential Library
And while all of that definitely makes it sound like a good time for people of all ages looking for a new place to call home, Starkville seems to have a few things retirees can appreciate.

Starkville Offers Retirees Financial BalanceActive retirees may find Starkville right up their alley, according to the town's website. That's because the small-town population means you won't feel overwhelmed when you are new to the scene, making it easier for transplanted seniors to make friends with other community members.
Plus, the town is known for its low cost of living, ranking about 14 percent below the national average. That means seniors will pay less on everything from healthcare to housing, something that is super important when you're on a fixed income. And speaking of housing, the town's website says you can snag a home at a great deal, with the median home cost just below $200,000.
Are you over the age of 65? Well, Starkville offers qualifying seniors lower property rates and exemptions, making it even more affordable to move here in retirement.
As for healthcare, unlike many small towns, Starkville has a high-quality healthcare system nearby, thanks to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Oktibbeha County. The facility is a Level III Trauma Center, and there are more than 300 doctors on staff.

There are Plenty of Activities for Active SeniorsLastly, you'll never run out of things to do in Starkville. Remember how I said it was a great spot for active seniors? That's because there are lots of preserved natural spaces in town, which make it easy for you to get outside to do everything from golfing to hunting. There's also a Noxubee National Wildlife Refuge, where you can find 42.500-acres of preserved land that's perfect for hiking, animal watching, or just getting outside and moving your body.
Plus, Starkville's downtown offers even more options to get outside, since the walkable town center is full of dining, shopping, and historic options for when you want a more urban setting to explore. Of course, not all of Starkville's history is positive, and the town itself acknowledges that the civil rights movement was built on a "shaky truce" at the time. That said, these days the town is considered pretty progressive for Mississippi, making it one of the better options for people of all backgrounds hoping to relocate to the state for retirement.
There’s a Medication That Could Help Prevent Long COVID—but Most Doctors Aren’t Prescribing It Yet
For most people, getting COVID is a temporary inconvenience. No one wants to be sick in bed for a few days, but most people bounce back relatively quickly. But for some people, COVID symptoms aren’t a short-term issue, and they continue to experience symptoms months and even years after getting the virus.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 6.9% of adults reported having Long COVID in 2022, a percentage that has likely gone up since the virus has now been around longer. Long COVID is when symptoms related to contracting the COVID virus last more than three months. These symptoms can include respiratory problems (like shortness of breath or coughing), cognitive issues (like brain fog or memory problems), fatigue, dizziness and loss of taste and smell, among other symptoms.
Related: Doctors Are Seeing a Bizarre New COVID Symptom Right Now
But according to a new scientific study, the antiviral medication Paxlovid could help with Long COVID symptoms if it’s taken for a longer period of time. Despite this promising development, most doctors aren’t prescribing it for Long COVID. Why not? We talked to an infectious disease expert to find out.

The Medication That Could Help With Long COVIDIf you’ve never heard of Paxlovid before, it’s important to understand what the medication is and how it works before talking about it in the context of Long COVID. Dr. Eric Yager, PhD, an infectious disease expert and associate professor of microbiology at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, explains that Paxlovid is an antiviral medication used to treat mild to severe COVID infections in people who are at high risk of experiencing severe complications from the virus, including people 65 and older or who are immunocompromised.
Dr. Yager tells Parade that Paxlovid is a combination of two drugs. The first drug is nirmatrelvir, which blocks a key enzyme the virus needs to replicate. The second drug is ritonavir, which slows down the breakdown of nirmatrelvir (the first drug) so that it stays effective longer.
Related: 8 Sneaky Symptoms That You Might Not Realize Are Signs of Long COVID
“Paxlovid is a very effective drug against the virus and it’s recommended for individuals who are likely to have severe outcomes. But the tricky part is that you have to know that you are infected with COVID and not another illness, like the flu or RSV, for it to work,” he says.
On top of this, Dr. Yager adds that for Paxlovid to work, it must be prescribed within the first five days of being infected with the virus.
How Paxlovid Could Be Used To Treat Long COVIDUntil recently, Paxlovid has only been used to treat acute COVID infections. But researchers at UC San Francisco found that it may help people experiencing Long COVID as well. Typically, Paxlovid is taken for five days. In the study, researchers had 13 people with Long COVID take it for 15 days. Some of the participants experienced a meaningful reduction in symptoms, but it didn’t work for everyone. Some participants felt better for a while, but their symptoms eventually returned.
With this in mind, when asked if Paxlovid can help treat Long COVID, Dr. Yager’s answer is…maybe. He says that while the research is encouraging, it’s not strong enough to truly show that it can help, which is why extended doses of Paxlovid are not being prescribed for Long COVID yet.
Related: This Bizarre Symptom May Be a Sign of Long COVID, According to COVID Experts
Dr. Yager points out that what makes using Paxlovid to treat Long COVID especially challenging is that it must be taken within five days of contracting the virus, and most people don’t realize they have Long COVID until weeks or months after that.
How To Decrease Your Risk of Long COVIDIf you want to decrease your risk of getting Long COVID, Dr. Yager says the best action you can take is getting a yearly COVID vaccine. “There are a lot of unknowns when it comes to Long COVID, but what we do know is that being unvaccinated puts you at a higher risk of getting it,” he tells Parade. “If you get vaccinated for COVID, your risk of getting Long COVID isn’t zero, but it’s definitely lower than if you don’t get the COVID vaccine.”
Dr. Yager explains that, similarly to the flu vaccine, the COVID vaccine is continuously updated to reflect the latest COVID mutations. This is why it’s important to continue getting a COVID vaccine every year; if you haven’t received it since the vaccines initially came out, your protection from the virus is low.
What should you do if you already have Long COVID? Dr. Yager says that, currently, treatment for Long COVID is focused on symptom management; there is no cure for Long COVID—at least not yet. That said, if symptoms from Long COVID (such as shortness of breath, brain fog or fatigue) are interfering with your daily life, you should talk to your doctor about the best way to manage these symptoms.
While it may be disheartening to hear that there is no cure for Long COVID yet, Dr. Yager says that the new research on taking Paxlovid for an extended period of time is promising. Just because the science for using it to treat Long COVID isn’t quite there yet doesn’t mean it won’t ever be. An exciting breakthrough could be just around the corner.
