The home of Ava Gardner, a Hollywood legend known for her iconic films like The Killers and The Night of the Iguana, is now listed for $2.9 million in Hollywood Hills.

The 2,668-square-foot home located on 0.2 acres was built in 1959, and is where Gardner lived and where Frank Sinatra attended parties. The home sits on Rinconia Drive, a quiet area near Griffith Park. The home has three bedrooms and three bathrooms, and preserved vintage details.

The home was listed by Antonio Bruno of the Beverly Hills office of Sotheby’s International Realty. According to his listing, “the property carries a rich sense of Hollywood history.”

“It’s on a dead-end little street so it’s very secluded,” Bruno said, according to Mansion Global. “The setting is very beautiful.”

Gardner’s post-and-beam home was designed by architect Ed Fickett. Although Gardner and Sinatra had already divorced by the time the home was built, Sinatra had attended parties in the Hollywood Hills home.

The home features a rock wall, centered by a fireplace, grounding the living area, “while a more petite brick fireplace warms the primary bedroom, which also features built-in storage shelves, a separate lounge space, and a light-blue-tiled ensuite bathroom with custom wooden cabinetry and a unique concrete soaking tub and a matching sink,” Architectural Digest shared.

Gardner’s sister, Beatrice “Bappie” Gardner, lived in the Rinconia Drive home, according to the Ava Gardner Museum. Ava would stay there when she was in L.A. after she had moved to Spain.

The American rock band announced via Instagram on Friday that fans can sign up for presale access to their annual Summer of '99 and Beyond Cruise. The annual rock music festival is held on the Norwegian Joy, and headlined by the band Creed. Departing from Miami to the Bahamas, it features a weekend filled with live performances, theme nights and activities geared toward late 1990s and early 2000s rock music.

"Are you ready? We’re running it back for YEAR 4, sailing from Miami to Great Stirrup Cay, April 17-21, 2027," the band wrote as their caption. "Join the presale NOW."

Creed will be joined by special guests Breaking Benjamin and Sevendust, as well as performances by Zach Myers, Hoobastank, Our Lady Peace, Hinder, Fuel, Drowning Pool, Fastball, Sponge, The Flys, Ashes of Billy and more to be announced soon. The event will also be hosted by Eddie Trunk and DJ Rock Feed.

Formed by Scott Stapp, Mark Tremonti, Scott Phillips, Brian Marshall and Brian Brasher in 1994 in Tallahassee, FL, Creed became very prominent in the post-grunge movement of the late 1990s and early 2000s. After breaking up in 2001, reuniting briefly in the late 2000s, and then taking a ten-year hiatus in 2013, the group released four studio albums, and their second record, Human Clay, received diamond certification by the Recording Industry Association of America. Creed has sold over 28 million records in the United States, over 53 million albums worldwide, and was the ninth best-selling musical act of the 2000s.

In July 2023, Creed announced that they had reunited and would be headlining the Summer of '99 cruise in April 2024. Since then, they have held the rock festival annually, selling out the previous three cruises.

"I didn't know how people would react. It's been 10 years since we've hit the road, so it was great to see everybody so excited about it, and we're pumped," Tremonti said on AXS Power TV in 2023, months after they announced the first cruise.

Fans can sign up for the presale of the 2027 Summer of '99 and Beyond Cruise, which will take place on April 17-21, 2027, docking from Miami. More information can be found on the event's official website.

There's a very specific kind of emotional whiplash that comes with hearing your favorite restaurant has filed for bankruptcy. And that brings us to the April 2026 bankruptcy filing made by 801 Restaurant Group, the parent company of 801 Chophouse. On April 10, it filed for Chapter 11 to restructure debt of approximately $18.7 million, according to legal documents. There are currently eight 801 Chophouse locations scattered across the Midwest, as well as one in Tysons Corner, Va.

Now, the good news for frequent patrons of the steakhouse chain is that the restaurants themselves are apparently doing fine and aren't going bankrupt. The financial issues are at the parent company level, not with the individual 801 Chophouse locations. That means there isn't a plan or need for those restaurants to file for bankruptcy. So, in theory, each of these restaurant locations should be open for business the next time you're in the mood for steak. (Assuming it's within operational hours, of course.)

What Does Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Mean?

Different types of bankruptcy filings can mean various things. Chapter 11 bankruptcy is basically a company hitting pause to reorganize, not shut down. Instead of closing its doors and selling everything off (which is more like Chapter 7), the business keeps operating while it works out a plan to restructure its debts. It will work on things like renegotiating what it owes, cutting costs, and getting back on stable ground. It's often used by larger companies that believe they can turn things around with a reset. In 1957, Stanley Kubrick released a film that went on to become one of the most powerful anti-war statements in popular culture and cinematic history.

Paths of Glory has since been ranked among the best movies of all time by Rotten Tomatoes, underscoring its lasting influence and critical acclaim.

Set during World War I, the film follows French soldiers ordered to carry out a near-impossible attack on a heavily defended German position. When the mission inevitably fails, three soldiers are chosen at random to be court-martialed for cowardice, setting the stage for a tense and emotional battle over justice and morality.

At the center of the story is Colonel Dax, portrayed by Kirk Douglas, who defends the accused soldiers against the unjust actions of his superiors. His performance anchors the film, bringing both intensity and humanity to a story defined by its moral complexity.

Paths of Glory is widely praised for its stark, unflinching portrayal of war and its critique of military hierarchy and authority. Kubrick's direction, combined with striking black-and-white cinematography, creates a haunting atmosphere that emphasizes both the brutality of combat and the emotional toll it takes on those involved.

"We employed approximately eight hundred men, all German police -- at that time the German police received three years of military training, and were as good as regular soldiers for our purposes," Kubrick said in a 1969 interview. "We shot the film at Geiselgesteig Studios in Munich, and both the battle site and the chateau were within thirty-five to forty minutes of the studio."

"Stanley loved moving shots," said producer James B. Harris in an interview. "The main thing was taking Kirk Douglas through this obstacle course, this barrage. The idea was that Kirk was going to be followed, in a moving shot, through as much action as we could muster before a cut had to be made, after which we would set up to continue. It was cold; it was uncomfortable; it was wet. Everything was tough on Kirk. After he did it the first time, he told Stanley, 'I'll give you one more, maybe two, but that’s it. I’m not going to do this forever.'"

Though controversial at the time of its release, the film has since been recognized as a landmark achievement in filmmaking. Its themes of injustice, sacrifice and the cost of war continue to resonate with audiences and remain timely decades later.

More than half a century after its debut, Paths of Glory remains a defining work in Kubrick's career and a cornerstone of anti-war cinema.

With its inclusion on Rotten Tomatoes’ list, the film stands as a timeless classic—one that continues to challenge viewers and spark conversation about the true nature of war.

Ever since the 1990s, a certain subgenre of movies known as "found footage" has really taken off — courtesy of The Blair Witch Project.

Then came the Paranormal Activity franchise and other entries in the same vein. In more recent years, a similar format of cinema known as "screenlife" has also become more and more popular.

Buzzy examples include Searching and Unfriended, the latter of which is officially celebrating 11 years since its release on Friday, April 17. Told almost entirely through a MacBook, the supernatural horror film was made for just $1 million and ultimately raked in more than $62 million globally, per Box Office Mojo. Quite the profit!

Here's the official synopsis of the screenlife film, which received generally favorable reviews from critics:

One night, while teenagers Blaire, Mitch, Jess, Adam Ken and Val take part in an online group chat session, they are suddenly joined by a user known only as "Billie227." Thinking it's just a technical glitch, the friends carry on their conversation... until Blaire begins receiving messages from someone claiming to be Laura Barns, a classmate who killed herself exactly one year prior. As Blaire tries to expose Billie's identity, her friends are forced to confront their darkest secrets and lies...

The little screenlife thriller-that-could proved so successful that it spawned a sequel, Unfriended: Dark Web (2018). While the follow-up also received generally positive reviews, it was no match for the original in terms of box office success, only bringing in roughly $16 million worldwide.

Parade reported on another hit film from 2015 this week since the original movie from its own franchise just celebrated 47 years since its release. On April 12, 1979, the O.G. Mad Max was released in Australia. Decades later, the same director gave us the Oscar-winning Mad Max: Fury Road, starring Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron.

Forty-seven years ago, iconic funk-rocker Donna Summer topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart with her empowering breakup anthem, "Hot Stuff."

Released on April 13, 1979 as a single from her seventh studio album, Bad Girls, "Hot Stuff" was an instant hit. Shortly after its release, the track climbed up the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 1 for three non-consecutive weeks and holding a Top-10 spot for 14 weeks throughout the summer, making it a defining song of the season.

"Hot Stuff" marked Summer's second No. 1 hit, following the massive success of "MacArthur Park" from her album Live and More. The track was a significant commercial triumph, earning a Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for selling over 3 million copies in the U.S. alone.

Not only was Summer's hit recognized for its commercial success, but it also earned her prestigious accolades. In 1980, "Hot Stuff" won a Grammy Award for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance, establishing Summer as the first Black woman in history to win in that category.

Produced by Giorgio Moroder and Pete Bellotte via Casablanca Records, "Hot Stuff" is recognizable for its seamless blend of disco and rock. The track's intricate electric guitar work and high-energy disco-inspired beats made for a fiery dance-floor crossover, marking a distinct shift from Summer's traditional disco work toward a rock-infused dance music approach.

Co-written by Bellotte, Harold Faltermeyer and Keith Forsey, the No. 1 hit explored an empowerment mindset following a messy breakup. The lyrics showcase the narrator's urgent desire to take matters into her own hands and initiate a new romantic connection. The song utilizes themes of confidence and resilience to portray life after a split, marking it a definite masterpiece.

Throughout the streaming era, "Hot Stuff" has remained relevant, resonating with moderns audiences the same way it did with older generations. On Spotify alone, the track has accumulated over 177 million streams, attesting to its ability to reach beyond its original era and touch new listeners.

Zayn Malik has been hospitalized after a health scare. On April 17, he shared a photograph of himself in a hospital gown in a hospital bed to his Instagram Stories.

Malik captioned the photo, “To my fans—thank you to all of you for your love and support now and always. [It’s] been a long week and [I] am still unexpectedly recovering.”

“Heartbroken that I can’t see you all this week,” he continued. “I wouldn’t be in the place I am today without you guys. [I] am so thankful for your understanding.”

Although the star did not reveal the reason that he was in the hospital, he thanked the hospital staff for helping him recover. “Thank you to the incredible hospital staff of [doctors], nurses, cardiologist, management, admin and everyone who has helped along the way and continue to,” he said. “You are all legends! Big big love.”

Malik originally appeared as a solo contestant on The X Factor UK in 2010. The judges combined him with Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson in order to form One Direction. The band went on to win nearly 200 awards, including Billboard Music Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, and a record 28 Teen Choice Awards.

Malik made headlines when he left the band in March 2015. Since then, he has made music on his own. Konnakol, his fifth studio album, was released today, April 17. He was scheduled to perform in New York City on April 20 to kick off his upcoming tour, but it’s unclear whether any dates will be postponed or canceled after his health scare.

In February, he appeared on the Call Her Daddy podcast to promote the upcoming album. He said,  “Five solo albums now—I was just buzzing that I got to do the first one after [leaving] the band, [and] people seemed to care. I’m really proud of the progression and just the development and understanding of myself through my music.”

He also spoke with Elle India about weaving his heritage into the record. “Even though I was drawing from Konnakol in terms of the technique and bringing in South Asian influences, it was still something I’m proposing to a Western market, and I wanted it to still be R&B but have that flavor.”

He continued, “It’s always important for me to bring my culture into things because I feel that’s what makes me, me. There are not many Indian-Pakistani artists here in the West that the world knows, so it makes it unique and individual."

The sinking of the Titanic on April 15, 1912, is now one of the most well-known tragedies in history, and 114 years to the day that the ship submerged, an Illinois exhibit dedicated to the Titanic was flooded.

Per NBC News, the Volo Museum in Volo, Illinois, flooded due to thunderstorms on the 114th anniversary of the ship's sinking. Stranger still, the museum reported that the Titanic exhibit was the sole exhibit in the museum that was affected by the water.

This is far from the only disconcerting coincidence when it comes to the Titanic disaster. Most notably, on June 18, 2023, OceanGate's Titan submersible had seemingly gone missing while on a trip to the Titanic wreckage.

Ultimately, however, it was confirmed that the Titan had suffered a catastrophic implosion, leading to the deaths of all five people onboard, including OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush, French explorer and submariner Paul-Henri Nargeolet, businessman and pilot Hamish Harding and businessman Shahzada Dawood, along with his 19-year-old son, Suleman Dawood.

This tragedy gained significant public attention for myriad reasons, including the eerie coincidence that the submersible, with a name that was (intentionally) so similar to the Titanic, had been destroyed on its way to the wreckage, in the very same waters.

However, arguably even more captivating to many was the initial belief that, rather than an explosion or implosion, the Titan had lost contact with the Polar Prince, the surface ship from which the Titan departed, and was now floating somewhere at the bottom of the ocean with mere days of oxygen remaining. That desperate search had been plastered across the news and social media.

Public and media interest continued when it was revealed that OceanGate had engaged in practices that many alleged had led to this catastrophic implosion, including related to the ship's carbon fiber hull, which experts have since said had no chance of surviving the ocean's intense pressure.

Among the voices who called OceanGate out for these practices was James Cameron, the filmmaker and deep-sea explorer who created the iconic 1997 Titanic movie.

Neither OceanGate's Titan submersible tragedy nor this most recent flooding at the Volo Museum's Titanic exhibit have helped to deter the public belief that there is some sort of supernatural factor, be it a curse or otherwise, tied to the Titanic.

Dion's last album, Courage, was released in 2019. In 2023, she released several tracks as part of the film Love Again, according to Good Morning America.

Dansons is already receiving high praise from Dion fans around the globe, many of whom have left comments on her Instagram account reacting to the song. The track comes just three weeks after Dion announced that she's going to be performing again.

"Over the last few years, every day that's gone by, I've felt your prayers and support, your kindness and love. You've helped me in ways that I can't even describe, and I'm truly fortunate to have your support," Dion said in a statement on March 30, announcing her Paris residency, via ABC News.

Dion has been sidelined after being diagnosed with Stiff-person syndrome. The last time she performed a full concert was on March 8, 2020, in Newark, New Jersey, for her Courage World Tour.

Natalie Portman is pregnant!

The actress, 44, announced she is expecting her third baby, her first with partner Tanguy Destable, on Friday, Apr. 17 to Harper's Bazaar.

“Tanguy and I are very excited,” she said. “I’m just very grateful. I know it’s such a privilege and a miracle.”

Portman is already mom to son Aleph, 14, and daughter Amalia, 9, whom she shares with her ex-husband Benjamin Millepied. The couple were married for 11 years before separating in July 2023 and finalizing their divorce in February 2024.

In her interview with Harper's Bazaar, Portman noted she's feeling gratitude more profoundly this time around.

“There is a gratitude that when you’re young, you don’t necessarily grasp,” she said. “And there’s a calm and knowing myself: who I want to spend time with, what kind of energy I want around me that makes the experience so beautiful every day. And knowing it’s probably the last time, I cherish every moment.”

It's been an emotional year for the Today team, and co-host Sheinelle Jones got choked up with emotion while celebrating her 48th birthday on the new episode of Today with Jenna & Sheinelle.

On the Friday, April 17 episode, Jenna Bush Hager surprised Jones with a bright pink cake featuring the cover of her new book, Through Mom's Eyes: Simple Wisdom from Mothers Who Raised Extraordinary Humans. While Jones was touched by the sweet gesture, it was clearly the tremendous journey she's been through over the last several years while dealing with the illness and death of her husband, Uche Ojeh, who had glioblastoma, that brought tears to her eyes.

Ojeh, Jones' husband of 17 years, died at 45 in May 2025. The couple had three children.

Taking a moment to reflect, Jones shared how she came to find peace over the last year.

“And when I turned 47, it was a tough day on my 47th birthday and I just couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. So for 48 to be so wonderful and to be here with you and you guys, just lets you know that if you’re in something, just know that there is light,” Jones shared, getting visibly emotional.

Sheinelle Jones Previously Honored the Nurses Who Cared for Her Late Husband

On a February episode of Today with Jenna & Sheinelle, Jones welcomed the hospice workers who cared for her husband through his illness to the show.

“By the time we got to the end, we almost had this quiet little tribe of folks we felt were rooting for us, and kind of fell in love with our family,” Jones shared, PEOPLE reported. “Things happened so fast in the end that I just haven’t had a chance to say thank you.”

When Did Uche Ojeh Die?

Ojeh, Jones' husband of 17 years, died at 45 in May 2025. The Today team announced the loss together.

“With profound sadness, we share this morning that Uche Ojeh, the husband of our friend and TODAY co-host Sheinelle Jones, has passed away after a courageous battle with an aggressive form of brain cancer called glioblastoma,” Savannah Guthrie said on TODAY, May 23. “There are no words for the pain we feel for Sheinelle and their three young children. Uche was an incredible person. We all loved him. And so we want to take a moment to tell you more about the remarkable man who was Sheinelle’s perfect partner in life.”

What’s Happening With Flight Cuts?

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is capping the number of flights at O’Hare during the peak summer travel season, which runs from mid-May through late October. On the busiest days, flights will be limited to about 2,700 daily arrivals and departures, down from what airlines had originally planned. 

In total, roughly 300 flights per day could be cut compared to proposed schedules. These cuts are significant, especially at a hub like O’Hare, where even small disruptions can ripple across the entire U.S. air travel system.

Airlines like United Airlines and American Airlines (the airport’s two dominant carriers) will be forced to scale back their summer schedules and notify passengers of changes.

Why Is This Happening?

At first glance, it might seem odd: why cut flights during one of the busiest travel seasons of the year? The answer comes down to a mix of over-scheduling, infrastructure limits, and past delays.

Airlines aggressively expanded their summer schedules in 2026, with planned flights increasing by roughly 15% compared to last year. This surge was driven in part by competition between United and American, both trying to dominate the Chicago hub and secure valuable gate space. 

The problem? O’Hare simply can’t handle that level of traffic. Regulators warned that the increased volume would overwhelm runways, terminals, and air traffic control systems, leading to widespread delays and cancellations. In fact, last summer already showed signs of strain, with barely more than half of flights departing and arriving on time. 

Construction projects at the airport and ongoing staffing and infrastructure challenges have only added to the pressure.  In short, the FAA is stepping in now to prevent a chaotic summer travel season later.

What This Means for Travelers

For passengers, the biggest impact will be reduced availability. With fewer flights operating, seats will become harder to find, especially on popular routes and during peak travel dates.

• Fewer direct flights, particularly on less busy routes
• More crowded planes, as airlines consolidate passengers
• Potential schedule changes, including cancellations or rebookings

There’s also a broader ripple effect. Because O’Hare is a major connecting hub, disruptions there can impact flights across the country, even if Chicago isn’t your final destination.

Tips for Getting to Chicago This Summer

Despite the challenges, getting to Chicago is still very doable; you just need to plan smarter.

• Book early and stay flexible: Flights will fill up faster than usual. Booking early gives you the best chance at reasonable prices, while flexible tickets can protect you if schedules change.
• Consider alternate airports: Chicago has another major airport, Chicago Midway International Airport. Some airlines may shift capacity there, making it a less congested option depending on your route.
• Look at nearby cities: Flying into cities like Milwaukee or even Indianapolis and taking a train or rental car into Chicago could save time and money, especially during peak weekends.
• Avoid peak travel times: Midweek flights or early morning departures may be less affected by cuts and congestion.
• Allow extra time: With potential delays and longer security lines expected, give yourself more buffer time at the airport.

Chicago isn’t closing its skies, but flying there this summer will require more planning and patience than usual. The FAA’s decision to cut flights is ultimately about improving reliability and preventing widespread disruptions, even if it creates short-term inconvenience. So for travelers, expect fewer options, higher prices, and a bit more unpredictability.

On April 16, ABC News reported that FBI received DNA evidence in the form a hair sample from the 84-year-old’s home. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department (PCSD) initially sent it to a private lab in Florida. However, the FBI is now reportedly using new technology for advanced analysis of the genetic material.

Although the DNA development seemings promising, retired FBI special agent Jennifer Coffindaffer warned those following the case that it could be a dead end.

After pointing out that investigators seem to have multiple DNA samples, she shared, " I also want to caution everybody that even though that they have this hair—for sure, we know, a hair now—that they can't seem to attribute to anybody that would have formally been in there. Which I would believe they ruled out the family members, they ruled Nancy out, they ruled out the housekeeper, people that would have been in that house. I caution everybody because it's good news, but I'm sort of optimistically very cautious."

Coffindaffer explained, "Because just think in 50 years that she's lived there, all the people that could have been in that house. That a hair could have fallen."

The former FBI agent also pointed out that the DNA sample "would have been a hair that was without the root because if it was with the root, they would have had this hair attributed to somebody very long ago."

Although it's possible for the FBI make a DNA profile from a rootless hair, Coffindaffer said "it's going to take time."

Back in February, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos echoed this sentiment when he shared that DNA evidence collected from Nancy’s home was “mixed." This means it contained genetic material from more than one person.

“Our lab tells us that there are challenges with it,” Nanos explained, per Fox News. “The technology is moving so fast and in such a frenzy that they think some of this stuff will resolve itself just in a matter of weeks, months, or maybe a year.”

On Jan. 31, Nancy was last seen at her Tucson home. The PCSD launched it search on Feb. 1, with the FBI joining in soon afterward. As of writing, no suspect has been named, despite Savannah offering a $1 million reward.
