Iconic '90s Rock Band Releases 25th Anniversary Album

Fri, 06/12/2026 - 6:03pm

blink-182 has exciting news for their OG fans.

The iconic rock band that grew to fame in the 1990s and early 2000s released the 25th anniversary edition of their 2001 album, Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, to digital streaming services on Friday, celebrating 25 years of one of the group's most popular albums. In addition, blink-182 included six new bonus tracks on the anniversary edition album and exclusive merch on their website to celebrate the occasion.

View the original article to see embedded media.

Formed in 1992 in Poway, California, by Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge, Travis Barker and Scott Raynor, blink-182 first gained popularity in the Southern California skate punk scene and were known for their high-energy live shows and humor. After years of recording and releasing albums independently, blink-182 signed with MCA Records, and released their first and fourth albums, Enema of the State (1999) and Take Off Your Pants and Jacket (2001), which include their top singles like "All the Small Things," "First Date," "Dammit" and "What's My Age Again?," which all became hit songs and staples on MTV.

Since their debut, blink-182 has released nine studio albums, with their most recent being One More Time... in 2023. They have also been on multiple headlining tours since 1998, and were recently on their Missionary Impossible Tour last year.

Take Off Your Pants and Jacket is blink-182's fourth studio record, which was released on June 12, 2001. The album was mostly produced by longtime collaborator Jerry Finn and was recorded in his studio in San Diego. It reflected the band's transition from indie to industry demands, with MCA Records pushing blink-182 to meet their deadlines and expectations.

Originally with 13 tracks, Take Off Your Pants and Jacket became a modern rock success the moment it was released, becoming the first punk record to hit No. 1 in the United States. Selling 14 million copies worldwide, the album produced three hit singles: "The Rock Show, "Stay Together For The Kids" and "First Date." To support the album, they co-headlined the Pop Disaster Tour with Green Day and went on their own headlining tour during the summer of 2001.

In an interview with MTV, Hoppus revealed the story behind the silly album title. He revealed that their technician, Larry Palm, pitched it, and they thought it was so funny, so they used it. The bassist and lead singer also teased the cover art for the record.

"The cover art demonstrates it in a pretty straightforward way, not in a phallic way, but in the literal meaning of it," he explained. The album cover consists of three icons: one red circle with an airplane, a yellow circle with a drawing of a pair of pants, and a green circle with a jacket.

Despite its success, neither blink-182 nor the album received any accolades from the Grammy Awards. It wasn't until 2017 that blink-182 was nominated for Best Rock Album for their seventh studio album, California. The award ended up going to Cage the Elephant for Tell Me I'm Pretty.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, fans have been speculating that the group may go on tour soon. As of Friday, blink-182 has not confirmed or denied the rumors.

Take Off Your Pants and Jacket (25 Year Anniversary Edition) is out now on all streaming platforms. Exclusive merchandise and CDs can be purchased on blink-182's official website.

1970 Rock Classic, Lasting Nearly 24 Minutes, Became a Breakthrough Anthem

Fri, 06/12/2026 - 5:31pm

Fifty-six years ago, the legendary '70s rock band Pink Floyd released "Atom Heart Mother," a song that was so long it took up the entire first side of its parent album and so iconic that it continues to maintain its relevance.

Released in October 1970 as the title track of their fifth studio album, "Atom Heart Mother" generated immediate traction for its sheer length. Spanning over 23 minutes long, the opening track took up the entire front side of the record's pressing, flabbergasting listeners. The song marked the first time Pink Floyd had created a song long enough to require that much space on a vinyl record, arriving just a year before their 1971 epic "Echoes," which took up the second side of their album Meddle.

While "Atom Heart Mother" never charted due to it not being a single, its parent album experienced significant chart success. The record peaked at No. 1 on the U.K. Albums chart reached the No. 55 spot on the U.S. Billboard 200. This milestone served as Pink Floyd's commercial breakthrough, earning them their first number-one album and widespread mainstream acclaim.

"Atom Heart Mother" was not only ambitious for its 23-minutes and 44-second runtime, but also for its unrivaled crossover sound. Produced by the band themselves through Harvest and Capitol Records, the track is notable for its beautiful fusion of progressive rock and experimental classical music.

Throughout its duration, the song shifts between six distinct movements, utilizing unique orchestral elements to represent different sections, including a full brass choir and avant-garde vocal arrangements. This unconventional structure allowed the band to push the boundaries of traditional rock music, resulting in a sonically cinematic journey.

Over five decades since its initial release, "Atom Heart Mother" is still critically recognized as a monumental song for not only Pink Floyd's legacy but progressive rock's history. The track remains highly popular in the modern digital era, racking in 14.5 million streams on Spotify alone.

"Oh, what do you guys call him? A full-kit w----, right?" Lalas asked. The insult wasn't censored on American television. But Henry looked at the camera, shocked, and his jaw dropped. Lowe's jaw also dropped, and Ibrahimović said, "Whoa."

"He's all dressed up and ready to go," Lalas continued in reference to Corden dressed like he'll be playing the sport.

Netflix Quietly Sets Return for Hit Drama, With a 98% Rotten Tomatoes Rating, Nearly 3 Years Later

Fri, 06/12/2026 - 5:09pm

Netflix is officially bringing back a fan-favorite heist drama after a three-year hiatus.

The long wait is almost over, as Lupin Part 4 has finally secured a premiere date.

The streaming giant announced the global phenomenon will return later this fall, after wrapping up season 3 in October 2023.

The fourth season of the series, inspired by the adventures of Arsène Lupin, will premiere three years after the last season’s finale, on Oct. 23, 2026.

The new season of the French-language crime drama continues the saga, as OmarSy reprises the role of gentleman thief Assane Diop for an eight-episode run.

As of writing, a plot has not been revealed.

"A retelling of the classic French story about Arsène Lupin, the world-famous gentleman thief and master of disguise," the synopsis for the series reads.

Season 3 ended on a major cliffhanger as Assane—who stole the Black Pearl, won over the French public, and faked his death—pulled off a series of high-stakes heists to protect his wife, son, mother, and best friend. Ultimately, he decided the only way to truly keep them safe was to sacrifice his freedom, turning himself in to the police and ending up behind bars, though likely not for long.

The character Arsène Lupin was created by Maurice Leblanc in the early 20th century, with the series, which initially premiered in 2021, landing as a massive hit for Netflix.

It went on to become one of Netflix’s most-watched non-English shows ever, ranking in the top 10 globally across dozens of countries, including the U.S.

Per Netflix, the first three parts ranked in the third, sixth, and tenth places, respectively, in the historical rankings in the history of non-English productions.

It also helped boost global interest in French-language content.

Fans enjoyed the fast-paced and twisty storytelling, with the series holding a steady 98% Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer score to this day.

In addition to Sy, the series will also see the return of Ludivine Sagnier, Antoine Gouy, Soufiane Guerrab, Shirine Boutella, Théo Christine and Laïka Blanc-Francard.

'90s Indie Rock Band Announces Special Guests for 2026 Tour

Fri, 06/12/2026 - 4:55pm

The Charlatans announced some exciting news on Friday.

The UK-based indie rock group revealed on Instagram that Mercury Rev will be joining them for The Charlatans' two Southern California shows as their opening acts on Sept. 3 and Sept. 4 at Santa Ana's The Observatory and the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, respectively. The Dandy Warhols will also be performing.

The rest of the tour, which takes place across the United States in September, will not have a supporting act. The Charlatans will kick off the lineup of shows on Sept. 3, then finish their run at Brooklyn Steel in New York City on Sept. 26. They are also expected to make stops in San Diego, San Francisco, Portland, Vancouver, Seattle, Minneapolis, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia and more. The entire tour was originally announced in late April.

"We’re excited to announce @themercuryrev will join us in Santa Ana & Los Angeles as very special guests along with @thedandywarhols," the band wrote as their caption. "Get your tickets now from thecharlatans.net link in bio."

View this post on Instagram

Formed in 1988 by Martin Blunt, Tim Burgess, Jon Brookes, Rob Collins, Jon Baker and Baz Ketley, The Charlatans are an English rock band with 13 studio albums, all of which charted in the Top 40 in the UK Albums Chart, with three reaching No. 1. Their top songs include "The Only One I Know" and "One to Another."

When The Charlatans announced their US tour to support their recent album, We Are Love, which was released last Halloween, they expressed their excitement about coming back to North America.

"We’re excited to announce we’re coming back to North America, 16 dates this September, including two shows in California with very special guests The Dandy Warhols & More TBA," they wrote in their caption.

The Dandy Warhols are an American psychedelic and alternative-rock band formed in Portland in 1994. The EDM group is best known for their hit, "Bohemian Like You," which was a part of their 2000 album, Thirteen Tales from Urban Bohemia. Consisting of members Zia McCabe, Courtney Taylor-Taylor, Peter Homström and Brent DeBoer, The Dandy Warhols were already announced as the opening acts for The Charlatans' Santa Ana and Los Angeles shows.

The second opening act, Mercury Rev, is an American rock band that was formed in 1989 in Buffalo, New York. The group achieved widespread popularity in 1998 following the release of their fourth album, Deserter's Songs.

When it comes to touring, Mercury Rev's Jonathan Donahie and Sean "Grasshopper" Mackowiak view it as deeply grounding. The band, which has been on the road supporting their most recent album, Born Horses, has spoken to multiple outlets about tour life, saying that it makes Donahie feel "wistful."

“We were just in Buffalo, and you see new skyscrapers – just as you might wherever you live,” said Donahue to Matter News in April 2025. "It's more that you’re seeing these glass and steel tombstones rising up over the grave of a place that might have been something sensitive to you 30 years ago, whether it was an old club you played, or an apartment you lived in at one time."

A fan who attended their Chicago show on April 22, 2025, wrote for Bearded Gentlemen Music, describing the venue and energy as "packed, steamy and electric."

"The shimmering melodies floated through the space like a final blessing, and the crowd stood frozen, eyes fixed on the stage, absorbing every last note. It was a moment of collective stillness, rare and beautiful," Oscar De Leon wrote in his concert review. "With decades behind them, Mercury Rev proved that their music still holds a rare kind of magic. It’s timeless, transportive, and utterly their own. This wasn’t just a concert. It was a reminder of the quiet power of a band that continues to evolve while staying true to its singular, dreamlike vision."

Mercury Dev and The Dandy Warhols will be joining The Charlatans at their Santa Ana and Los Angeles shows on Sept. 3 and Sept 4, respectively. Tickets are available for purchase on The Charlatans' official website.

Iconic '70s Rock Band Releases New Music 59 Years After Debut

Fri, 06/12/2026 - 4:46pm

Nearly 60 years after first emerging on the British rock scene, Jethro Tull is once again giving fans something new to hear.

The legendary group has announced a newly expanded and remixed reissue of J-Tull Dot Com, its 1999 studio album, complete with fresh mixes, additional material and previously unavailable recordings. The release marks the latest chapter in Jethro Tull's ongoing archival series, which has revisited and expanded many of the band's classic albums in recent years.

Originally released in 1999, J-Tull Dot Com arrived during a period when the internet was rapidly changing the music industry. The album's title reflected that transition, while the music continued the distinctive blend of rock, folk and progressive influences that had defined the band's sound for decades.

The newly announced edition features remixes overseen by renowned producer and engineer Steven Wilson, whose work on classic progressive rock reissues has earned widespread praise from fans and critics alike. In addition to the updated audio, the expanded collection includes bonus material designed to offer a deeper look into the album’s creation.

The reissue goes well beyond a standard remaster. J-Tull Dot Com: Another Cast of the Net will be released as a limited 3CD/Blu-ray package featuring the original album, newly created 2026 remixes and a bonus disc packed with rarities, including six never-before-heard studio recordings and three live performances from the band’s 2000 tour. The set also includes Dolby Atmos and surround-sound mixes, plus a 36-page booklet filled with archival photos and detailed liner notes chronicling the album's history.

The announcement also serves as a reminder of the remarkable longevity of Jethro Tull.

Formed in 1967 by frontman Ian Anderson, the band became one of the most distinctive acts of the classic rock era thanks to Anderson's flute playing and unconventional songwriting. Throughout the 1970s, Jethro Tull released a string of influential albums, including Aqualung, Thick as a Brick and Songs from the Wood, helping establish the group as one of progressive rock's most successful and innovative bands.

"Well, Thick as a Brick is a sort of an amusing thing because it was a response to the critics who saw Aqualung as being some kind of concept album," frontman Ian Anderson said in a 1993 interview. "So we tongue in cheek and with good humor, delivered duly a concept album which was deliberately overblown with kind of a crazy way over the top almost Monty Python-esque parody of what a concept album is supposed to be."

The band's debut album, "This Was," arrived in 1968, making the new release particularly noteworthy nearly 59 years after the group’s formation. While many classic rock acts focus solely on nostalgia, Jethro Tull has remained unusually active. The band has continued releasing new material in recent years, including albums such as The Zealot Gene and RökFlöte, proving that Anderson's creative ambitions remain intact.

For longtime fans, however, the expanded J-Tull Dot Com release offers a chance to revisit a lesser-known chapter of the band’s history through a modern lens.

Nearly six decades after Jethro Tull first appeared, the band's music continues to evolve—demonstrating why one of rock’s most distinctive voices remains relevant all these years later.

Dave Ramsey’s Golden Rule for Shopping at Costco Will Save You Money

Fri, 06/12/2026 - 4:44pm

Dave Ramsey, host of The Ramsey Show, has some strong opinions about your favorite wholesale store, Costco. You head in for the $5 chickens and bulk eggs and walk out with your wallet $200 lighter. This isn’t uncommon, but Ramsey has some great advice on how to avoid overspending at the popular chain.

Related: We Ran the Numbers on Dave Ramsey's $1 Million Car Warning — He Was Actually Too Conservative

Ramsey’s Core Rule

For Costco shopping, Ramsey has one core rule. You need to ask yourself, “Does it last? Do I use it?” These two questions can help you evaluate whether or not to put that item in your cart. For instance, a large family may find bulk shopping at Costco effective because they’ll eat everything before it has an opportunity to spoil.

For small families, empty nesters, retirees, and others in similar situations, Costco might be wasting money. If you’re purchasing 2 lbs of grapes and throwing half of them away, the better option may have been to buy a smaller portion at your local grocery store.

If bulk buying is going to be cost-saving, you need to consider if the item will last. You’ll also need to think about if you’ll really use it. A 50-pack of protein bars may work well for a small cafe but could gather dust in your cupboard.

Related: Dave Ramsey Tells Caller To Stop Using His Program And Do This Instead

The Mistake Most Shoppers Make

Costco’s membership fee often makes people feel like they need to stock up to get their money’s worth. While bulk shopping can feel like a bargain, the per-unit cost isn’t always the cheapest. Ramsey suggests using simple math to evaluate if you’re getting the best price.

Look at the price of the item you want and then divide it by how many portions, or units, are in the package. For instance, imagine a 30oz bag of potato chips at Costco goes for around $7.99, give or take taxes and location. In the same city, a 14oz bag of the same chips costs $5.23 at another store.

The Costco bag of chips costs about $.27 per ounce. The 14oz bag costs $.37 per ounce at the other store. In this instance, the Costco purchase is worth it, but only if you’re going to eat the entire bag. If you throw half of it out, you’ve wasted money.

Remember To Check

Ramsey wants to remind you that bulk buying is only worth it if it’s done intentionally. Costco can be money-saving, but don’t get distracted. If you’re going to shop wholesale, make sure you remember Ramsey’s two questions. If the answer to both isn’t “yes,” then put it back.

1973 Soft Rock Hit, Written After a Brutal Beach Attack, Became a Timeless Summer Anthem

Fri, 06/12/2026 - 4:38pm

In June 1973, King Harvest took the stage on The Midnight Special and delivered a legendary performance of their smash hit, “Dancing in the Moonlight.”

The foursome’s infectious groove, shimmering electric keyboards, and feel-good harmonies perfectly captured the golden era of 1970s soft rock. But few watching at home — or swaying in the studio audience — could have known that the song’s carefree spirit was born from a traumatic beachside assault that left its writer hospitalized.

In a 2018 interview, via American Songwriter, keyboardist Sherman Kelly shared the horrific tale. Prefacing the story, he said he and his girlfriend got seasick on their boat trip to the island of St. Croix. Thankful to be ashore, they decided to sleep on the beach rather than on the boat to avoid further illness. Shockingly, they were later awoken by a gang of violent attackers.

“I remember being hit really hard, and five guys were attacking us with baseball bats,” he said, adding that he thought his girlfriend was going to be sexually assaulted and killed.

Fortunately, the pair survived, and while Kelly was recovering from the brutal attack, he wrote “Dancing in the Moonlight” with lyrics inspired by an “alternate reality” as a dream of peace and joy.

One of the most feel-good songs of all time, the track was originally recorded in the late ’60s by Kelly’s band Boffalongo, with Kelly on vocals and his brother, Wells Kelly, on the drums. It was included on their debut album, Beyond Your Head. The song didn’t catch lightning, though, until it was introduced to another band.

Founded in 1969, King Harvestformed while its core four  — Dave “Doc” Robinson, Ron Altbach, Ed Tuleja, and Rod Novak — were attending Cornell University. Following a brief breakup in 1971, the group reformed in Paris, France, where Wells Kelly joined. It’s around this time when the drummer brought the band his brother’s song.

Once the track took hold, peaking at No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100, King Harvest relocated to Olcott, New York, where Sherman got on board and helped the track further become a global phenomenon. The glory was short-lived, though: The band called it quits in 1976. They reunited for another brief effort, from 2012 to 2016, but today, King Harvest is no more.

That said, there is still dancing. And there will forever be moonlight. Thanks to a resurgence on screens big and small, with “Dancing in the Moonlight” featured in the Guardians of the Galaxy video game, Netflix's The Umbrella Academy, and Riz Ahmed's brilliantly dark, satirical indie comedy Four Lions, the soft rock band’s signature track continues to win over new generations of listeners.

Covers by Young Generation, Baha Men, and Toploader have only helped cement its status as one of pop-rock’s most enduring feel-good summer anthems.

For a song inspired by one of the darkest moments of a man’s life, "Dancing in the Moonlight" has spent the last half-century doing the exact opposite: giving listeners a reason to smile.

A longtime Aldi garden favorite, Belavi Solar Garden Stakes have returned for another season with a fresh batch of all-new designs that stand out from past options. Retailing for just $10 a pop, each one adds a unique touch of personality to your yard, with nature-inspired designs like Butterfly, Frog, Ladybug and Flower.

Where these stakes really start to impress, however, is with their warm white LED light, powered by a rechargeable AAA solar battery. Featuring an on/off switch for added control, the light is designed to charge in direct sunlight and then illuminate your garden or walkway once the sun goes down, creating a soft, whimsical ambiance even on gloomy days.

If you're already eyeing one for your space, keep in mind that each stake stands approximately 32 inches tall, with the decorative top included. They're also fairly simple to install in just about any outdoor setting. The design features a single steel rod that connects the decorative piece on top and houses the solar battery just below, then splits at the base into two stakes that both anchor into the ground for added stability.

And if you're enjoying what Aldi has to offer and have summer travel plans on the horizon, take a look at this chic new weekender bag and stylish $10 men's shorts, both made to simplify packing and keep your next getaway stress-free.

1979 Eagles Classic, Ranked One of Their Greatest Songs, Was Written by the Newest Member of the Band

Fri, 06/12/2026 - 4:19pm

Many people have experienced a relationship they know isn't working, yet they still can't find a way to walk away from it. That's what makes "I Can't Tell You Why" one of the Eagles' most emotionally relatable songs. What many fans don't realize, however, is that this beloved Eagles song wasn't introduced by Don Henley or Glenn Frey but by the band's newest member.

In 1977, Timothy B. Schmit stepped in to replace one of the Eagles' founding members Randy Meisner on bass guitar and vocals.

"When I first started getting together with Don and Glenn for what would become my first Eagles' album," recalled Schmit on the Follow Your Dream podcast with Robert Miller, "they wanted to hear what I had because they wanted me to sing at least one lead. The new guy. They wanted the new guy to sing, but ... we needed a great song."

Related: 1979 Love Ballad, Written in Just 45 Minutes, Became a Timeless Anthem of Hope

Schmit said "I Can't Tell You Why" was just "a piece of song" at the point when he shared it with Henley and Frey. He remembered they "really lit up" when they heard it and told him the three of them could finish the song altogether. "I was really happy that it wasn’t a country rock song. I was glad that it was more R&B flavored," he added, saying he was listening to a lot of Motown at that time.

"We were influenced by Al Green," Henley explained in a 2016 interview with Musician. "'I Can't Tell You Why' is straight Al Green, 'cause Glenn was a big R&B freak. He's from Detroit, and he grew up with all that stuff."

The smooth soft rock vibe of "I Can't Tell You Why" coupled with the R&B influence showed off a softer, more vulnerable side for the Eagles, too. Add to that, Schmit's soulful lead vocals, and this song really stood out among the other classics in the band's catalog.

The lyrics and the story behind them resonated with so many fans as well. The song captured the relatable push-pull of a troubled relationship. It captured that tough emotional space of loving someone despite there being ongoing problems. "Every time I try to walk away / Something makes me turn around and stay," Schmit sings, "And I can't tell you why."

Not only did the "new guy" help inspire and co-write one of the Eagles' most enduring ballads, but he brought a freshness to band's sound. The iconic hit was the first lead vocal to be completed on their sixth studio album The Long Run, which released in September 1979. "I Can't Tell You Why" was released as the third single from that album in early February 1980. By the end of February, the track debuted on the Billboard charts, and by mid-April, it peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary and No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Almost five decades later, the song continues to sustain popularity on radio stations, and it has more than 158 million streams just on Spotify, to date. In recent published rankings, the soulful groove hit was included in the Top 15 Eagles song lists by both Billboard (No. 6) and Gold Radio (No. 7), and fans on Ranker have upvoted the hit to No. 11 on their list of all-time best Eagles songs. Modern country singer Vince Gill covered the song in 1993, and Canadian jazz singer and pianist Diana Krall did her own rendition in 2015.

"I Can't Tell You Why" was brought to the table by the new guy. It became the last Eagles top 10 hit—and the one most people never forget.

Stassi Schroeder's New Show Has One Thing 'Vanderpump Rules' Fans May Not Expect

Fri, 06/12/2026 - 4:07pm

Stassi Schroeder is stepping back into reality TV, but fans should not expect a simple Vanderpump Rules reboot.

The former Bravo star is leading her own new series, House of Stassi, which premieres July 29 on Freeform. The full season will be available to stream the next day on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.

The show brings Schroeder back in front of cameras with some familiar faces, including Katie Maloney, Kristina Kelly and her husband, Beau Clark.

'House of Stassi' Premieres in July View this post on Instagram

The official show description, according to Deadline, says Schroeder is "stepping back into the spotlight to redefine her place in pop culture," while also confronting parts of her past and dealing with a chaotic inner circle.

The cast includes Schroeder, Maloney, Clark, Kelly, Taylor Strecker, Georgianna Aubin, Rob Evors and Taylor "Teddy" Donohue.

Stassi Says the Show Breaks the Fourth Wall

Schroeder has said the new series will not pretend the cameras are not there.

"It's like nothing anyone's ever seen," she told People. "'Cause we do a lot of breaking the fourth wall and acknowledging that we are filming a show and that we are on a show and that we came from a show."

Instead of trying to recreate her former Bravo role, Schroeder acknowledges that viewers already know her reality TV history.

She also said the show has a nostalgic element because Maloney and Kelly are part of it.

"It truly is this raw, real show about where we are now," Schroeder said.

For Vanderpump Rules fans, one of the biggest reasons to watch may be the Maloney-Kelly dynamic.

Maloney's return to reality TV is especially notable because she has her own long history with Schroeder.

"No one knows that we had a falling out for years," Schroeder said in an interview with Marie Claire, according to E!. "Now we're rebuilding our friendship after growing in two completely different directions."

The show is expected to deal with what happens when old reality TV friendships age, shift and have to be rebuilt outside the world where viewers first met them.

Schroeder has also made clear that the new show will not be the same kind of chaos fans remember from early Vanderpump Rules.

She told People that the cast is at a different stage now, with "so much more to lose." She also said the drama is not the same as old fights from the SUR days.

"No one's throwing drinks on each other," Schroeder said.

Instead, she described the show as "way more real and nuanced and layered."

The show still has friendship drama, but it appears to be built around adulthood, family, career pressure and unresolved history, rather than the kind of party-heavy conflict that made Vanderpump Rules famous.

Stassi's Family Life Will Also Be a Major Part of It

The series will also show Schroeder's life with Clark and their two children, Hartford and Messer.

Schroeder recently told People that she is in a very different place than she was when many viewers last saw her regularly on reality TV. She described the show as showing "Stassi 2.0," including marriage, motherhood and a new phase of her career.

Schroeder is no longer the single reality star trying to run her friend group. She is a wife, mother, podcast host, author and public figure trying to re-enter unscripted TV on different terms.

Why 'House of Stassi' Could Hit With Bravo Fans

Vanderpump Rules has gone through major changes, Bravo fans are still interested in what the original cast members are doing, and Hulu has been building out its reality TV slate. Schroeder already returned to the larger Vanderpump world through Vanderpump Villa, but House of Stassi gives her a show centered on her own life and relationships.

For longtime fans, the most interesting part may be seeing how much has changed.

People Who Like To Play 'Devil's Advocate' Have These 7 Traits, Psychologist Reveals

Fri, 06/12/2026 - 4:06pm

We’ve all been around that person, right? They seem to make every conversation complicated, whether it’s at a work meeting, a holiday dinner with family or another social situation. These individuals can be difficult to be around, and that can be for various reasons: They might be argumentative, debatably unkind or even arrogant. They might be "know-it-alls" who talk philosophically, are pseudo-deep or take critical thinking too far.

It may seem like no matter what you say, and no matter how true or altruistic it is, they always argue against it or have to bring up an opposing viewpoint. You might have half-joked that they should consider joining a debate team, or asked if they did in college.

All of that to say, dealing with challenging people is no easy feat—that’s for sure. Plus, how you respond to their words and behavior most effectively may also depend on what “kind” of "difficult" they are. Today, let’s focus on a particular archetype many of us are familiar with: a “devil’s advocate.”

Ahead, a psychologist explains exactly what this term means, seven common personality traits those individuals share and how to respond to them. While a devil’s advocate may argue with these insights, you can trust that they're expert-backed.

What Is a ‘Devil’s Advocate’?

Other than some of those above descriptions, how do we conceptualize a devil’s advocate?

“A devil’s advocate will challenge your ideas or opinion(s) on purpose,” says Dr. Shannon Franklin, PsyD, a licensed psychologist with Element Q Healing.

Here’s the interesting part: They don’t necessarily disagree when they challenge you.

“Their main objective is to test how well an idea holds up as a strong argument, and/or find other points of view,” she explains.

While that behavior may be annoying, it’s not inherently “bad” (at least all the time). Dr. Franklin says it can be done appropriately and help people think more deeply, which can lead to better decision-making.

7 Traits of People Who Like To Play Devil’s Advocate, According to a Psychologist

Let’s talk about some common personality traits that devil’s advocates have. Just note that not every devil’s advocate will have all of these, and that you might have these qualities and not act as such, either.

1. Naturally curious

People who often play devil’s advocate like to explore all sides of something and learn more about it, and they bring others into that exploration.

“These types of individuals will typically ask the kinds of questions that will give you insight into the details of an issue (or problem) that you might have overlooked,” Dr. Franklin says.

2. Critical thinkers

Beyond just learning, these individuals will think critically about the information they gather.

“This includes looking at areas where there could be ‘gaps,’ evaluating whether there are any ‘assumptions,’ and checking out potential weak points,” Dr. Franklin explains.

For example, they might consider how people in different situations would be affected, any precursors and unchecked assertions.

Related: 9 Things High-Level Thinkers Notice That the Average Person Ignores, According to Psychologists

3. Independent-minded

Critical thinking can mean stepping outside of the norm—and that’s OK for them.

“Individuals who think for themselves often choose to think for themselves rather than follow the crowd,” Dr. Franklin states.

4. Enjoy intellectual debates

Debates are mental stimulation for devil’s advocates, according to Dr. Franklin.

“These individuals see intellectual debates as challenging but also enjoyable and rewarding,” she adds.

5. Skeptical by nature

These individuals are (obviously) not quick to agree.

“They require evidence prior to accepting any type of claim,” Dr. Franklin shares. “Even if most people accept something at face value, these types of individuals may still question it.”

6. Problem-solvers

Devil’s advocates analyze the possibilities (good and bad—but specifically the bad) in each decision they make.

“Reviewing for potential risk allows problem-solvers to identify problems early on, which can ultimately lead to better decision-making,” Dr. Franklin states.

They may already have a solution when an issue arises, or they may anticipate a risk others don’t.

7. Complacent with disagreements

While disagreements can feel uncomfortable—perhaps especially for peacemakers and the like—devil’s advocates don’t mind them or feel deterred by them.

“If independent-minded individuals believe that disagreeing with another person will help to bring out the truth, then they are willing to endure the discomfort associated with having a disagreement,” Dr. Franklin says.

Related: 11 Phrases To Use Instead of Automatically Agreeing With Someone—When You Actually Disagree, According to Psychologists

How To Respond to a Devil’s Advocate

Whether you’re an agreeable person or just not in the mood for an argument, how do you respond to someone who is happy to keep disagreeing and questioning something?

First, Dr. Franklin encourages staying as relaxed as possible and avoiding becoming overly defensive. Then, be mindful in your responses.

“Instead of focusing on how they are phrasing things, be focused on the concepts that you both are trying to discuss,” she recommends. “When you can respond positively to their questions (or if your answers are going to help), take some time to think about your responses.”

If you’re not getting anywhere and the conversation becomes unproductive, it’s OK to put your foot down and walk away, Dr. Franklin adds. Boundaries are a beautiful thing, and they're always welcome.

Here Are 5 Money Moves To Make Right Away If You Were Just Laid Off, According to a Financial Expert

Fri, 06/12/2026 - 4:01pm

Financial experts agree that getting laid off can trigger a wave of financial anxiety. And according to Vincent Birardi, CFP®, AIF®, MBA, MSIS, Senior Wealth Advisor at Halbert Hargrove, the most important thing you can do to manage that stress is to avoid making rushed decisions.

"Losing your job can be a psychological jolt," Birardi tells Parade. "It's imperative that you don't succumb to any overwhelmingly and hopefully short-term negative emotions." Instead, he recommends focusing on these five financial steps.

SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox.

1. Review Your Budget and Cut Non-Essential Spending

Your first move should be understanding exactly where your money is going. Birardi suggests postponing major purchases, luxury items, and expensive vacations while you search for your next opportunity. "Reaffirm your monthly household spending budget," he says. "Identify essential spending—housing, food, etc.—from non-essential spending." The goal is to align your spending with your available cash flow and preserve savings for essential needs.

2. File for Unemployment and Claim Any Benefits You're Owed

Photo by MarioGuti on Getty Images

It's easy to freeze in this moment, but don't wait too long to act. "Ideally within a few days after having been laid off," Birardi says when asked how quickly workers should apply for unemployment benefits. "The process can often take weeks to complete, but acting faster increases the probability of receiving financial assistance sooner."

He also recommends reviewing your severance package and claiming any available workplace benefits, including unused PTO, healthcare coverage, tuition reimbursement, or childcare benefits, thoroughly before making any major decisions.

3. Don't Assume You'll Run Out of Money Tomorrow

"One thing people can instinctively feel is that they will run out of money very quickly," Birardi says. "In many cases that's not true."

Rather than panic, he recommends simplifying your spending and focusing on securing your next role. A combination of severance, unemployment benefits, and emergency savings can provide you with a steady runway before you land your next job.

4. Use Your Emergency Fund Before Turning to Credit Cards

Let your emergency fund do what it was meant to do. "As best you can, avoid the urge to accumulate credit card debt to otherwise sustain elevated levels of spending," he says. "Unpaid credit card debt can severely compromise your progress towards future goals such as education and retirement planning."

Photo by PM Images on Getty Images

5. Leave Your 401(k) Alone If Possible

For many workers, tapping retirement savings during a period of temporary unemployment can be tempting—but Birardi says you should keep your hands off of the asset. "Avoid withdrawing your 401(k) funds if you can," he says. "Your 401(k) is meant to sustain you in retirement."

Consider leaving the account where it is or rolling it into an IRA or a future employer's retirement plan, where it can continue to grow.

Long Term Focus

Above all, Birardi encourages laid-off workers to stay focused on the long term. "Stay calm and confident—regarding your financial and your overall future," he says. "Don't make any rushed decisions. Give yourself the time and space to consider all financial decisions with poise and clarity. And most importantly, ask others for help."

7 'Secret Menu' Items at Texas Roadhouse Even Regulars Don't Know About

Fri, 06/12/2026 - 3:50pm

When you walk through the doors of a Texas Roadhouse, the experience is wonderfully predictable. You know you’re getting a basket of warm, pillowy rolls slathered in cinnamon butter and a perfectly seared steak that didn't break the bank. It is the ultimate comfort-food routine.

But what if you could completely rewrite the menu on your next dinner date? While the restaurant doesn't actually print a hidden list of recipes in the back of their employee handbook, there are plenty of lesser-known ordering tricks that many Texas Roadhouse customers never realize exist.

😋😋SIGN UP to get delicious recipes, handy kitchen hacks & more in our daily Pop Kitchen newsletter🍳🍔

Diners have figured out that because the restaurant preps so many fresh, high-quality ingredients from scratch every day, the customization possibilities are practically endless. By simply knowing how to combine existing sides, swap out standard proteins or request specific toppings normally reserved for other dishes, you can unlock an entirely new culinary experience right at your table.

Whether you're looking to slash carbohydrates with a decadent keto-friendly side, score the ultimate high-end steak texture or create a makeshift international feast, these clever ordering tricks have you covered. Get ready to shock your server, because these Texas Roadhouse "secret menu" gems are about to change the way you order forever.

"Secret Menu" Items at Texas Roadhouse

If you know exactly what to ask your server, you can easily transform standard ingredients into exclusive, budget-friendly comfort dishes. Here's what to request at your next trip to Texas Roadhouse.

1. Honey Cinnamon Caramel Cheesecake

Photo by AdriFerrer on Getty Images

If you manage to survive the endless baskets of warm bread rolls and a massive steak dinner, you deserve a medal—and a dessert. While the official menu offers a New York-style strawberry cheesecake, true steakhouse insiders know how to transform that basic slice into a decadent, autumnal masterpiece known as the Honey Cinnamon Caramel Cheesecake.

This hidden gem leverages a swapped sauce to capture the exact flavor profile of the restaurant's legendary, crowd-pleasing cinnamon butter, turning a standard dessert into the ultimate grand finale.

To score this sweet upgrade, order a slice of the standard New York-style cheesecake. Ask your server to hold the strawberry sauce. Request that the kitchen drizzle it with honey cinnamon caramel sauce instead. This is the exact same warm, gooey glaze normally reserved for Granny's Apple Classic pie and the loaded sweet potato side dish.

If you want to go completely over the top, ask if the kitchen can also toss on a handful of toasted mini marshmallows from the sweet potato station.

When the plate arrives, the rich, velvety cream cheese base cuts beautifully through the warm, spicy notes of the cinnamon caramel. It’s an incredibly indulgent hack that feels like a natural extension of the menu.

2. Fried Mushrooms

If you look closely at the official Texas Roadhouse menu, you won’t find fried mushrooms listed anywhere. Yet, mouth-watering photos of crispy, golden-fried mushrooms from the steakhouse can be found online. So, what’s the deal behind this hidden appetizer?

The truth is that while most locations only stock pre-sliced mushrooms simmered in a wet, buttery garlic glaze, a few select spots have been known to test out actual fried sliced mushrooms as a special.

While it isn’t a regular menu item, it never hurts to try asking your server anyway. If your local kitchen happens to have raw mushrooms on hand or is feeling extra accommodating, they might just surprise you and whip up a custom battered batch on the spot.

3. Loaded Broccoli

If you're trying to cut down on carbs or are strictly adhering to a keto diet, navigating a steakhouse menu can feel like walking through a minefield of bread baskets and spuds. Texas Roadhouse is famous for letting you "load" your baked potatoes and french fries with a mountain of cheese and bacon, but health-conscious foodies discovered a genius alternative: loaded broccoli.

This brilliant off-menu side dish swaps out the heavy potato starch for a serving of fresh green vegetables while keeping all of the decadent, savory toppings completely intact.

Just ask for a standard side of their steamed broccoli. By default, the kitchen steams this in a rich lemon-pepper garlic butter. Ask your server to have the broccoli "loaded just like a baked potato."

If your server looks a bit puzzled by the custom request, clarify that you want the kitchen to smother the broccoli florets in melted cheddar cheese, sour cream and crispy bacon bits.

What hits your table is a hot, vibrant bowl of tender-crisp greens hidden beneath a blanket of melty, cheesy goodness. This hack satisfies the exact same comfort-food cravings as a loaded spud, but saves you a massive amount of empty carbohydrates in the process.

If you’re trying to keep things a little lighter but still want a major punch of flavor, Texas Roadhouse has a killer salad menu. However, if you find standard Caesar dressing a little too mild, you can easily upgrade it with this spicy, tangy secret menu favorite.

The Buffalo Chicken Caesar Salad takes their standard Caesar and injects it with a massive kick of heat. It is a legendary combination of cool, creamy dressing and fiery, buffalo-sauced protein that creates the ultimate flavor contrast.

To place your order, ask your server for a Chicken Caesar Salad. When they ask how you want the chicken cooked, specify that you want Chicken Critters (their hand-breaded, crispy chicken tenders) instead of the standard grilled chicken.

Ask the kitchen to toss the Chicken Critters in buffalo sauce before slicing them up and placing them on top of the salad.

Because they already have buffalo sauce on hand for their appetizer wings, the kitchen can easily accommodate this swap. What you get is a massive, crunchy salad where the fiery buffalo heat cuts perfectly through the rich, cheesy garlic notes of the Caesar dressing.

Italian comfort food may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you walk into a Western-themed steakhouse, but craving a hearty plate of chicken parmesan doesn't mean you have to go hungry.

Because the kitchen doesn't actually have an Italian menu, the secret lies in repurposing ingredients from their appetizers and kids' menus to get those classic, savory flavors.

To build this Italian-American masterpiece, order a plate of Chicken Critters and ask your server to have them "loaded" with melted Monterey Jack cheese. Ask for a side of marinara sauce, which the kitchen always has on hand because it normally comes with the fried mozzarella sticks appetizer.

If you want a bed of noodles to go with it, order the macaroni and cheese from the kids' "Ranger" menu, but ask the kitchen to substitute the regular cheese sauce for marinara and a dusting of parmesan cheese.

Once your food arrives, smother your cheese-covered chicken tenders in the warm marinara sauce. While it might not rank among the finest authentic Italian dining options on the market, the combination of their super-crispy breaded chicken, melted cheese and tangy sauce absolutely gets the job done when you need a comfort food fix.

If your go-to steak order is medium-well, you might want to look away for this one. But if you live for a steak with a deep, caramelized crust and a cool, juicy center, ordering your meat "Pittsburgh style" is the ultimate Texas Roadhouse insider trick.

Also known in the steakhouse world as "black and blue," this method flash-sears the steak at an extremely high temperature. The legend goes that steelworkers in Pittsburgh used to cook their lunch steaks right on the blistering hot factory machinery to char the outside instantly while keeping the inside beautifully raw.

At Texas Roadhouse, the kitchen replicates this by tossing the meat onto a screaming-hot flattop to build a heavy, intensely seasoned, blackened crust while locking in a rare center.

Simply ask your server for your steak to be cooked "Pittsburgh Rare." While most of their kitchen pros know exactly what this means, you can clarify by asking for a "heavy char on the outside, rare on the inside."

This technique works wonders on a thick Dallas filet, but insiders swear that the absolute best item to order Pittsburgh-style is their prime rib. The intense flash-heat melts the outer fat cap into pure, crispy flavor heaven.

When you think of Texas Roadhouse, your mind immediately goes to cowboy boots and massive slabs of beef. Japanese teppanyaki cooking? Not so much.

Since the kitchen doesn't actually have a flattop hibachi grill for Asian stir-fry, this item is a brilliant menu hack that you construct right at your table. It transforms their classic, heavy southern comfort food into a protein-packed, balanced rice bowl.

To pull off this secret menu hack, order the Herb Crusted Chicken (a fan-favorite, ultra-juicy grilled chicken breast). Choose seasoned rice and steamed broccoli as your two side choices. Add a "Sidekick" of grilled shrimp if you want to turn it into a surf-and-turf hibachi bowl.

Once the food hits your table, grab your knife, chop the grilled chicken into bite-sized cubes, and toss it right into your sides of rice and broccoli. If you are ordering takeout, just dump everything into the container, snap the lid shut and give it a good shake. It creates a savory, high-protein meal that hits the spot without leaving you in a total food coma.

What Is the "Steak Trim" Secret?

When you order chili at most chain restaurants, you're usually getting standard ground beef or mystery stew meat scooped out of a pre-packaged bag. However, Texas Roadhouse has a delicious little kitchen secret that completely flips the script.

It all comes down to their in-house butchers. Every single location has pros in the back hand-cutting sirloins, ribeyes and filets fresh every day. Naturally, all that slicing leaves behind a mountain of premium, fatty edge pieces and steak trimmings. Instead of tossing that liquid gold into the trash, the kitchen repurposes it.

That "steak trim" is the secret weapon behind their Texas Red Chili. This legendary bean-free chili isn't made with cheap ground chuck. It's packed with actual USDA Choice steak scraps that melt down low and slow into pure flavor.

When you order these budget-friendly items, you are secretly scoring the rich, melt-in-your-mouth flavor of a premium steak for a fraction of the price. Talk about a menu hack!

Next time you head out for a steak dinner, don't feel locked into the physical menu. Half the fun of eating out is getting exactly what you want, and the kitchen crew is usually more than happy to help you experiment if you ask nicely. These secret menu items are a great way to keep your dinners exciting. Go ahead and give one of these hacks a shot on your next visit to Texas Roadhouse—your tastebuds will thank you.
