'Law & Order' Star Christopher Meloni Shares Emotional Farewell to the Series After 27 Years: 'It Was a Great Ride'
As the Internet continues to react to the news that Law & Order: Organized Crime has officially been canceled on NBC after five seasons, series star Christopher Meloni is sharing his honest thoughts about leaving the Law & Order universe behind after two and a half decades.
Taking to social media, the 65-year-old actor tearfully thanked fans for their unwavering support throughout his nearly 30 year stint on both Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and its spinoff series, Organized Crime.
“I just saw that they announced OC, Organized Crime, won’t be coming back,” Meloni said in an Instagram Reel. “So I wanted to take this moment to thank the fans who not only helped give the character of Elliot Stabler life and longevity, but for sticking with him and welcoming him back.”
“I had a great time playing him," the Oz actor continued. "It was a great ride, but thank you, you helped give me a career that I never dreamed of, you know, nearly 17 odd years.”
As the actor mentioned, Meloni has bid a former farewell to Law & Order upon his initial exit from the series in 2011. At the time, the actor had appeared as a mainstay on the police procedural drama alongside Mariska Hargitay’s Detective Olivia Benson starting in 1999.
Of course, the actor eventually returned to the role of Elliot Stabler with NBC's Law & Order: Organized Crime beginning in 2021. The series ran for four seasons on the TV networks before eventually moving over to Peacock in 2025.
As expected, most longtime fans of the series have expressed utter heartbreak at the news of Law & Order: Organized Crime's cancellation. Sadly, not even the most loyal fanbase was able to prevent the show from being pulled from production, with NBC announcing their decision to end the series just yesterday.

Is ‘Fire Country’ on Tonight? (April 17, 2026)
Fire Country gave fans a lot to talk about after the April 10 episode, including Eve (Jules Latimer) taking over the family ranch.
Bode (Max Thieriot) heated things up with Chloe (Alona Tal) after the Landon (Josh McDermitt) debacle at the rodeo, which also gave Manny’s (Kevin Alejandro) love life a jump thanks to Dr. Camille (Natalie Zea).
Is Fire Country on Tonight? These unexpected developments have fans more invested in new episodes of Fire Countrythan ever as Season 4 winds down. The hit CBS drama has had several breaks this season, sparking concern that these fun new twists won’t be addressed for a while.
Lucky for Fire Country fans, there will be no wait for more insight into Eve on the farm or into Bode and Manny having new women in their lives.
A brand-new episode of Fire Country airs tonight, Friday, April 17.

5 Years Ago, Queen Elizabeth Sat Alone During One of the Saddest Moments in Royal History
The death of Prince Philip marked a huge loss for the royal family, specifically his widow, Queen Elizabeth II. Photos from his funeral showed one of the saddest moments in modern British royal history.
The Duke of Edinburgh was laid to rest after an intimate funeral on April 17, 2021, two days after he died at Windsor Castle at the age of 99. Due to restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic, only 30 people attended Philip’s funeral at St George's Chapel within Windsor Castle.

The public mourned the longest-serving British royal consort in history, and hearts broke everywhere when photos released from the service showed Elizabeth sitting alone, wearing all black during the service.
WINDSOR, ENGLAND - APRIL 17: Queen Elizabeth II takes her seat during the funeral of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh in St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle on April 17, 2021 in Windsor, England. Prince Philip of Greece and Denmark was born 10 June 1921, in Greece. He served in the British Royal Navy and fought in WWII. He married the then Princess Elizabeth on 20 November 1947 and was created Duke of Edinburgh, Earl of Merioneth, and Baron Greenwich by King VI. He served as Prince Consort to Queen Elizabeth II until his death on April 9 2021, months short of his 100th birthday. His funeral takes place today at Windsor Castle with only 30 guests invited due to Coronavirus pandemic restrictions. Also in attendance were the couple’s four children, now-King Charles, Princess Anne, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, and Prince Edward, as well as their grandchildren, Prince William, Prince Harry, Peter Phillips, Zara Tindall, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Lady Louise Windsor, and James, Earl of Wessex. In addition, a handful of close friends, like Penny Knatchbull, Countess Mountbatten of Burma, and other relatives, were also included in the service.
Although Elizabeth sat alone due to COVID-19 protocols, the photographs were a profound moment of the monarch’s stoicism and private grief as a widow. Elizabeth and Philip were married for 74 years, and she famously called him her “strength and stay.”
The royal family opted out of a state funeral due to the pandemic, but the smaller service more closely aligned with what Philip wanted. The Duke was known not to want a lot of fanfare at his funeral, and royal author Anna Pasternak further explained how Elizabeth honored his wish to avoid “a lot of fuss.”
“The queen wants to honor him in the way that best reflects his desires, but also touches on the sense of duty that he led in his life,” she told Fox News. “It’s my understanding he didn’t want the frills of a massive funeral even if we didn’t have a pandemic.”
RELATED: King Charles' Plans to Celebrate Queen Elizabeth's 100th Birthday
Philip was deeply involved in the planning of his funeral, with CNN reporting he selected the music and ensured the ceremony reflected his military affiliations and personal interests.
Elizabeth was able to say a final farewell to her husband during his funeral, although she was not able to be at his bedside when he died. Author Gyles Brandreth shared details about the monarch’s whereabouts in his book, Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait.
“When he came back [from the bath], he said he felt a little faint and wanted help getting back into bed … The nurse called the Duke’s valet and the Queen’s page, Paul Whybrew, for help — and he died before the Queen could be called,” the author wrote, per Daily Mirror, noting Her Majesty was asleep in a separate room. “The Queen wasn’t yet up … And she wasn’t called until after a doctor had come and pronounced the Duke dead.”

Hit Netflix Series Inspired by a Real-Life Marital Spat Named Best Weekend Binge
In Montecito’s most exclusive circle, even a marital spat can become ammunition. Such is the gist of the second season of Netflix’s most popular show,Beef.
The eight-time Emmy-winning series from creator Lee Sung Jin this time centers on the escalating tension between two couples: married duo Josh and Lindsay (played by Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan, who also starred in Inside Llewyn Davis together), and engaged pair Ashley and Austin (played by Cailee Spaeny and Charles Melton).
View this post on InstagramWhen Josh and Linsday are secretly recorded during an explosive arguement, the younger two seize on the footage as leverage, using it as blackmail to climb the social ladder within the elite country club world this chapter inhabits.
All eight episodes of Season 2 are now streaming on the platform, with Collider name-dropping the series as the ultimate weekend binge.
“The returning series set to dominate the streaming charts is Beef, one of Netflix's best shows that took the streamer by storm when it debuted three years ago,” they write. “Finally, the time has come for the next chapter … and there's never been a better time to catch up with what came before.”
Of course, you don’t have to watch Season 1 to be up to date with Season 2 because of the series anthology nature: Each season is entirely its own storyline. Should you want to keep bingeing, though, the first season — about a “simple indcident of road rage that quickly spirals into all-out warfare,” Collider writes — is also there for the taking.
Both feuds featured in Jin’s series were inspired by real-life encounters. Speaking with Forbes, the showrunner explains the road rage incident that spurred Season 1.
“Someone honked at me and said some things, and I decided to follow them,” he said, adding, “We were actually going in the same direction. I think, in his mind, he thought I was following him all the way from La Brea to Santa Monica. I just thought that was so funny. Here we are in our literal bubbles, with our own subjective experiences about what was happening. I thought there might be a show there.”
About Season 2, Jin explained that his narrative was borrowed directly from a “heated debate” he overheard from a couple in his neighborhood.
“I’ll speak vaguely, since I still live in said neighborhood,” he shares, “but I found that when I retold the story, my younger peers were aghast, whereas my similarly aged or older peers kind of shrugged. I was like, ‘Everyone fights.’ And so I thought that juxtaposition was an interesting version.”
Beef is available to stream on Netflix.

I Tried 6 Viral Costco Food Court Hacks: 4 Are Genius (And 2 To Skip)
You might call me a Costco superfan, but when it comes to the Costco food court, I might actually be the queen. Having the café right inside the warehouse truly makes a family outing complete. At least once a month, my family of four gets out early on a Saturday, makes our way through all the samples, grabs the food, drinks and bulk items we didn’t even know we needed and then, we hit the food court.
It’s our reward at the end of the trip. Stocked with all the kid and adult favorites: hot dogs, pizza, and drinks all around. By the time we get home, it’s basically nap time, no need to worry about lunch. It’s the ultimate family weekend hang-slash-errand run.
😋😋 SIGN UP to get delicious recipes, handy kitchen hacks & more in our daily Parade Eats newsletter. 🍳🍔
If you’ve spent any time scrolling lately, you already know the Costco food court has become a full-blown internet obsession. Hacks are everywhere and some are genius. I never would have thought to wrap a hot dog in a slice of pizza, but now I’m forever grateful someone on the internet did.
I hit the point where my saved folder was overflowing with Costco food court hacks, so I decided it was time to grab the goods and try them myself. Here’s my honest review of six of the most viral Costco food court hacks, four I loved and two I wouldn’t order again.

What Is Costco’s Food Court Known For?Costco’s food court is known for delivering incredible value, consistently good quality and quick, easy meals that appeal to both kids and adults. Where else can you get a hot dog and soda combo for $1.50?
Lately, it’s also become a hub for viral food trends. From rotating sundaes and desserts to secret menu-style mashups, there’s almost always something new (or newly trending) to try, which makes every visit feel a little different and exciting.

4 Best Costco Food Court Hacks Forbidden Glizzy (Hot Dog in a Chicken Bake)This one absolutely lives up to the hype. Sliding a hot dog into the warm, doughy chicken bake creates the ultimate over-the-top handheld meal. It’s savory, indulgent and surprisingly balanced thanks to the creamy filling inside the bake. Messy? Yes. Worth it? Also yes.
Forbidden Glizzy + Pepperoni Pizza Cheese on TopThis was just a leveled up Forbidden Glizzy, so what wasn't going to be great?! I'm not sure anything didn't get better from adding cheese and pepperoni! It’s crunchy, cheesy, salty and completely chaotic in the best way. This is peak Costco creativity and honestly tastes like something you’d get at a stadium.
Costco KimchiI’ve covered this one before, and it still holds up. Adding kimchi (or a kimchi-style topping hack) to a hot dog brings acidity, crunch and a totally new flavor profile. It cuts through the richness and makes the whole thing feel a little more elevated than your $1.50 dog.
Coke FloatCourtesy Jeanette Donnarumma
With Costco switching to Coke products, the Coke float is having a moment...and it’s such a simple win. The creamy vanilla soft serve melts into the soda for a nostalgic, fizzy dessert that’s refreshing and fun. It’s not complicated, but it hits every time.

2 Costco Food Court Hacks To SkipCourtesy Jeanette Donnarumma
Chocolate Chip Ice Cream SandwichCourtesy Jeanette Donnarumma
In theory, this should be amazing. In reality, it’s just too much. The cookies are huge, rich, and quite dense, so adding ice cream makes it overwhelming and hard to eat. It also melts quickly, turning into a sticky mess before you can really enjoy it. It was fun to try but I wouldn't do it again.
Pizza Hot DogCourtesy Jeanette Donnarumma
This is the original viral combo, but for me, it didn’t quite work. The proportions feel off, its hard to eat, and it ends up being more bread than anything else. It’s heavy, a little awkward to eat and doesn’t deliver enough payoff compared to some of the better hacks.
Final ThoughtsCostco’s food court is already iconic, but these hacks take it to a whole new level, some in the best way, and some…not so much. The winning hacks all had one thing in common: they added flavor, texture or balance without making things overly complicated.
If you’re heading to Costco this weekend, I’d absolutely try at least one of the top four. Just maybe skip the cookie sandwich unless you’re ready for a serious sugar overload.
And honestly? Half the fun is trying these for yourself because if there’s one thing the internet got right, it’s that Costco food court creativity is undefeated.
Alan Ritchson of 'Reacher' Returns to Reality TV
Netflix is adding another reality competition to the streaming service, and Alan Ritchson of War Machine will host. The actor is used to playing acting stars who will do anything to survive. Ritchson, 43, joked about putting influencers to the same test.

"Let's see if some influencers can handle my brand of crazy," Ritchson wrote in an Instagram caption announcing the news. "Apologies in advance to the players, but this show is gonna be wild. Can't wait to see who survives." Some influencers are already asking how to sign up in the comments.
Showrunner Jay Bienstock producedSurvivor seasons one to six. He then executive-produced The Apprentice. The producer recently worked on Naked and Afraid of Love, and the mini-series What Drives You with John Cena.
The Reacher star auditioned on reality TV before he was known for acting and stunts. He showed off his vocals in front of Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell, and Randy Jackson on American Idol. The 20-year-old sang "You Are the Sunshine of My Life" by Stevie Wonder.
It's unknown when the new show will be released. Netflix has a long list of influencers from its own catalogue. Shows like Perfect Match feature stars from other reality shows competing and possibly finding love.
Too Hot to Handle, Love Is Blind, Squid Game: The Challenge, The Circle, andTemptation Island are series that have launched influencers' careers. Most of the cast members from these shows wouldn't be the typical fit for a survival show, but it sounds perfect for this new show's premise.

1973 Rock Classic Lost the Oscar for 'Best Original Song' 52 Years Ago
After its release in June 1973, Wings' classic "Live and Let Die" quickly became a massive hit, securing the number 2 spot on Billboard Hot 100 in August 1973. However, the song, written by Paul McCartney for the 1973 James Bond film, Live and Let Die, didn't get the Oscar for "Best Original Song" at the 1974 Academy Awards. Instead, Barbra Streisand's anthem for her 1973 film The Way We Were took home the big prize, as reported by BBC Bitesize.
Fatherly reported that McCartney discussed writing "Live and Let Die" during a 2023 episode of the McCartney: A Life in Lyrics podcast series. The former Beatles member, now 83, revealed that he "always [had] a sneaky ambition to write a Bond song." He also shared that he didn't want the Live and Let Die theme to glorify violence.
“I just wanted it to be let it go. Don’t worry about it. When you’ve got problems and everything, just live and let die — to hell with it," said McCartney on the podcast episode, per BBC Bitesize.
Wings' Drummer Denny Seiwell Shared Details About Recording 'Live and Let Die' in a 2022 InterviewWings' drummer, Denny Seiwell, revealed that "Live and Let Die" was written rather quickly in a 2022 interview with Music Night At The Majestic. According to Seiwell, McCartney had read Ian Fleming's 1954 James Bond book of the same name "the night before" he came up with the hit.
"We were all up the house and he said, 'I got to write the theme for the next Bond movie,'" recalled Seiwell.
Seiwell said after McCartney sketched out the melody, the rest of Wings decided to "knock it out together." Within a few hours, the band recorded "a nice version of it" and sent it to producer George Martin.
"A week later we're called into George's studio to record it," said Seiwell.
Seiwell said that Wings were accompanied by "a whole orchestra" while recording the track, which only took about three hours to complete.
1979 Hit Film Ranked Among ‘Best Movies of All Time’
There are probably hundreds of thousands of movies out there, but these cinema classics will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Rotten Tomatoes, a popular film and television review website, calculates the percentage of professional critic reviews that are positive (60% or higher) to create a "Tomatometer" score. A "Fresh" score (red tomato) means a movie is generally well-received, while a "Rotten" score (green splat) indicates a negative reception. Over the past few years, the site's editorial team has compiled a list of the "300 Best Movies of All Time," which has reviews from critics and film lovers.
Movies on this list are ranked by their Tomatometer, then they apply their special formula, which considers a movie's rating, votes on the Popcornmeter (which fans and users contribute to), the number of critics' reviews and the year of its release. In addition, an editor reviews the final list, which includes minimum thresholds for each of the data categories.

With a 96% rating and ranked at #254, the 1979 film Life of Brian has been called one of the "best movies of all time." With its full title being Monty Python's Life of Brian, the comedy drama tells the story of Brian Cohen (Graham Chapman), a young Judaean man who is born on the same day as — and next door to — Jesus, and is subsequently mistaken for the Messiah. It stars and was written by the comedy group Monty Python, which consists of Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin.
The movie was actually financed by former Beatle George Harrison and his business partner, Denis O'Brien, who arranged financing for Life of Brian through the formation of their HandMade Films company, after EMI Films withdrew days before production.

Though Life of Brian was considered controversial at the time of its release because of its interpretation of religion, it was a box office success and was the fourth highest-grossing film in the United Kingdom in 1979 and the highest-grossing of any British film in the United States.
Following the release, members of Monty Python heavily defended the film, notably during a televised debate on the BBC's Friday Night, Saturday Morning in 1979, where Cleese and Palin went against the Bishop of Southwark, Mervyn Stockwood, and Malcolm Muggeridge, who accused the film of being blasphemous. In 2013, Cleese and Jones contributed to a collection of essays, where they discussed their motivations and the film's impact on public perception of Jesus.
Despite the controversy, Life of Brian is still relevant and brings up topics of discussion, even almost 50 years later. The comedy film can be watched for free on Xumo Play, Pluto TV, Sling TV, The Roku Channel, Philo, The CW, PLEX, as well as streamed on Peacock, Amazon Prime Video and fuboTV.

1970 Global Hit Inspired by The Who Became One of Rock’s Most Iconic Anthems
Sometimes you need a song that makes you feel like everything is going to be OK. Or, even better, all right.
That’s exactly what you get with “All Right Now” by Free. Before the breakthrough hit became a global anthem, it was a feeling. A sense of relief, release, and a riff that refused to let go.
https://youtube.com/shorts/ixu-yyq3IgU?si=eqZ4cSm5WyNMJwEG
And it still resonates today. More than five decades later, the track remains a staple on classic rock radio and playlists, with American Songwriter naming it a top 1970s song that would sound even better remade today.
But the song’s origin is far more humble. In a 2013 interview, bassist and songwriter Andy Fraser shared the genesis for “All Right Now.” Written in minutes, the track was the result of a lackluster gig at a college in Durham.
“It was a venue that could hold 2,000 people, but there were only about 30 people there,” he said. “Usually … it didn’t matter who was watching or whether they were getting into it. We’d just play for ourselves and have a good time. But this night, it just wasn’t happening … we absolutely sucked.”
In the aftermath, something clicked. Backstage after the band’s “depressing” gig, Fraser started singing, “All right now, baby it’s all right now,” trying to lift the mood. “It worked, the rest of the band started tapping along and so I thought, We’re onto something here.”
From there, the song came together almost instantly. Inspired by The Who's Pete Townshend, Fraser said he was doing his best impression. “I wrote the riff on piano, then [guitarist Paul] Kossoff transposed the chords to guitar and did a helluva job. The chorus wrote itself. The chords took 10-15 minutes and Paul [Rodgers] came up with the verses while waiting for a lift to a gig the next day.”
And just like that, everything changed. Released off the band’s third album, Fire and Water, the single helped propel Free to new heights. Though their first two albums were a hit with critics , they struggled to find a wide audience. “All Right Now” changed that, boosting Fire and Water to No. 2 in the U.K. and No. 17 in the U.S.
Everything was definitely all right then. Well, until their official breakup in 1973, but that's a story for another time.

Who Is Ethan on ‘General Hospital’?
It’s been years since General Hospitalfans have seen Ethan Lovett (Nathan Dean) on screen. However, all of that has changed now that Ethan has emerged in Port Charles.
The character, played by Dean, appeared on the canvas in 2009. Ethan was a troublemaker from the second he came to town, as he tried to break into the Haunted Star bar owned by Luke (Anthony Geary).
General Hospital: A Brief Refresher on EthanWhen Luke caught Ethan, the two bonded, leading to the revelation that Ethan had met Holly (Emma Samms) while working on a con. Holly suggested Ethan head to Port Charles to meet the master of all cons, Luke, to pick up some more skills.
After Helena (Constance Towers) suggested that Ethan and Luke may be related, Tracy (Jane Elliot) began to suspect Holly might be Ethan’s biological mom. Tracy was right, but feared Luke was the dad, so she changed the test results to reveal Robert (Tristan Rogers) as Ethan’s biological father.
Eventually, as sparks flew between Ethan and Lulu (then Julie Marie Berman), Tracy came clean, admitting that Luke was Ethan’s father, not Robert.
Along with the paternity storyline, Ethan’s other big storyline involved Kristina (then Lexi Answorth) crushing on him. Teen Kristina was not only too young for Ethan but also had an abusive boyfriend, Kiefer (Christian Alexander).
The more Kristina fantasized about Ethan, the more abusive Kiefer became, nearly killing her on one occasion, as Ethan found her just in time to get her to the hospital.
However, a scared Kristina didn’t want her mob boss father, Sonny (Maurice Benard), to get revenge on Kiefer, so she named Ethan as her abuser. Since Luke and Sonny were best friends, she figured her dad wouldn’t kill Ethan, which wasn't the case, and Ethan was saved by his father, Luke.
Months later, Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) figured out the truth, as did Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn). It took time, but Ethan and Kristina eventually made peace.
For the most part, Ethan was heavily involved in storylines that focused on his family and cons. The character made several return visits to the ABC soap after Dean officially exited the series in 2013.
Related: Is Finola Hughes Coming Back to ‘General Hospital’?
Dropping Back in to General HospitalThe last time General Hospital fans saw Ethan was when he was being held captive and played by a different actor. James Ryan took over the role from Dean for the couple of episodes that saw Holly and Felicia (Kristina Wagner) save Ethan from Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy).
Ethan has missed a lot in his time away from Port Charles, including the death of his father, Luke. It remains unclear what brings Ethan back to reunite with his sister Lulu (now Alexa Havins).
However, Dean is back in the role and teased his return as Ethan, telling TV Insider that the character has changed since he’s been gone. The actor hinted that his return could be tied to “other mysterious people [that] have been popping up in town.”
General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC.

Is Danny Losing Baez? Donnie Wahlberg Teases ‘Sad’ Twist in Tonight’s ‘Boston Blue’ (Exclusive)
It’s around 214 miles from Boston to New York City. So it’s not surprising on tonight’s Boston Blue that a homicide that took place in Brooklyn finds itself moving to Beantown and bringing Danny’s former NYPD partner Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez) with it.
Maria shows up to help uncover the truth and protect a vulnerable victim in the “For Those Who Weren’t Heard” episode, but also to reconnect with Danny (Donnie Wahlberg).
“She’s in this week’s episode, but she’s coming back for the finale,” Wahlberg tells Parade. “I think if anyone feels sad this week, they’ll probably be happy with [the ending]. That’s all I can say.”
Long-distance romances are notoriously difficult to maintain, so that may be where the sadness comes in. We don’t know for sure if the couple will decide to see other people, or if Maria will consider a move to Boston, but Wahlberg also teases, “Danny knows people in Boston, so maybe he has ways to help her. The Silvers are a generous family. I think there’s a future for them.”
Also coming up is another visit from Erin (Bridget Moynahan), who appeared in the first episode of the season, and will return for the May 1 “L’dor Vador” episode, which involves a captured serial killer and family secrets.
“Erin comes back in a few weeks, and they discuss, ‘Why did you go?” Wahlberg says. “I think you're going to discover why he really went, and he truly believes he can make a life there without letting go of his life in New York.”
Related: Boston Blue Star Quietly Gets Engaged — Until Sherri Shepherd Spots the Hidden Clue
As for whether or not Danny’s New York City-based family will continue to pop up in Season 2, which is already confirmed, Wahlberg says, “If we did a good job in Boston Blue, we don’t need as many guest stars in Season 2, but we can have them in very organic ways. There’s a guest star in the season finale that’s a surprise. It’s a cameo, basically, but it’s so authentic to the story that it made complete sense. Rather than stunt casting, we’re finding ways to make it truthful to the stories. Grandpa Reagan [Len Cariou] came back to help Danny get his shield number as his badge number. Moments like that are very authentic storylines. We will continue to find those.”
Boston Blue airs Fridays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. Streams next day on Paramount+.
