Indiana Fever guard Lexie Hull is stepping into a new spotlight off the court, and it already includes her teammate Caitlin Clark. 

During a recent interview about her newly launched cosmetics brand, Hull revealed that Clark has agreed to let her handle her makeup at some point.

“She's already said yes. I, she has already agreed to letting me do her makeup. It might not be for a game or for practice. I will be using Forta on her at some point,” Hull said.

The moment highlights not only the growing bond between the two WNBA stars but also Hull’s push into the beauty industry with a product line built for athletes and active lifestyles.

Hull introduced her brand, FORTA Cosmetics, as a “performance cosmetics” line designed for people constantly on the move. Speaking about the concept, she explained that the brand goes beyond traditional beauty products.

“Forta Cosmetics is a performance cosmetics brand built for the active girls, so anyone on the move, be like a professional basketball player or someone just wanting to go from Pilates to drinks with their friends or someone running around from business meeting to business meeting,” Hull said.

The idea came from her own experience as a professional athlete who wears makeup during games. Hull admitted that keeping makeup intact during competition has always been a challenge.

“For me, I wear makeup when I play. I had just accepted the fact that my makeup was gonna be on a jersey or a towel before the game even started, so we felt like we could create something that's better than everything else out there,” she said.

Hull’s connection with Clark adds another layer of interest to the brand. The two have built strong chemistry since Hull joined the Indiana Fever. Now, that relationship is extending into business and lifestyle.

While Hull made it clear the makeup session may not happen during official team activities, the confirmation alone has sparked curiosity among fans. Clark, one of the most recognizable faces in women’s basketball, could bring major attention to the brand once the collaboration happens.

Hull also shared her personal reasons for wearing makeup during games, keeping it simple and direct.

“I want to look good, feel good, so I can play good,” she said.

Hull’s move into entrepreneurship comes during a strong stretch in her basketball career. She recently signed a multi-year deal to stay with the Fever, keeping the team’s young core intact as they prepare for the 2026 season.

The Color Purple was written by Alice Walker in 1982. The following year, on April 18, it won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, making Walker the first Black woman to win in the category. The story takes place in early-twentieth-century rural Georgia. “Separated as girls, sisters Celie and Nettie sustain their loyalty to and hope in each other across time, distance, and silence,” the book's Amazon page explains. “Through a series of letters spanning nearly thirty years, first from Celie to God, then from the sisters to each other, the novel draws readers into a rich and memorable portrayal of Black women—their pain and struggle, companionship and growth, resilience and bravery.”

The novel has a 4.28 rating on Goodreads with over 30,000 reviews. As one user said, “Have you seen the movie? I had. I thought I was prepared. Because the movie was devastating. The Color Purple was adapted into a 1985 film directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Whoopi Goldberg. The film received several nominations, including 11 Academy Awards. Spielberg also produced the 2023 musical adaptation of The Color Purple along with Oprah Winfrey, Quincy Jones, and Scott Sanders. It was based on the stage musical, which originally ran on Broadway from 2005 to 2008. When it returned in 2015 until 2017, with Cynthia Erivo starring, it won two Tony awards.

Walker published many other novels over the course of her career, along with short stories, essays, and poetry collections. She recently celebrated her 82ndbirthday in February 2026.

Nancy Guthrie is still missing more than three months after authorities say that she was abducted from her Arizona home in the middle of the night. As the case continues, Nancy's daughter, Annie Guthrie and Annie's husband Tommaso Cioni have erected a "no trespassing" sign on their front lawn.

On Wednesday, April 15, YouTuber Jonathan Lee Riches, known online as JLR, shared a picture of the sign that clearly states that violators will be prosecuted.

It is unclear exactly when the sign was put up, but the photo was posted after the Pima County Sheriff’s Department increased patrols in the neighborhood following complaints raised at a recent HOA meeting about a YouTuber allegedly “harassing residents” in the area.

Some social media users were confused by the sign, given that it has been months since Nancy disappeared. Moreover, the majority of the media attention has been at Nancy's house, about 10 miles away. That has significantly died down in recent weeks, though there are a handful of YouTube streamers still filming in the area.

"I haven’t seen or heard anyone even going to Annie & Tomasso property. Why the sign ? So strange," one person commented on JLR's photo.

"No one has ever trespassed on their property," someone else said.

In early February, authorities placed no trespassing signs at Nancy's home.

"[The department will] maintain a presence at Nancy Guthrie’s residence for security purposes going forward," a spokesperson from the Pima County Sheriff's Department said at the time, according to People magazine. "Members of the media and the public are reminded that all traffic laws and private property laws must be followed. No trespassing is allowed on Nancy Guthrie’s property."

The Guthrie family has asked for the public's help in locating Nancy and finding the person or persons responsible for her disappearance. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI (1-800-CALL-FBI).

Dick Clark is one of the most iconic television and radio personalities to ever appear on our screens. He won multiple Emmy awards, including a Daytime Lifetime Achievement Award, and was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1976.

Clark hosted American Bandstand for over three decades, spanning from 1956 to 1989. The program featured teenagers dancing to popular songs from the Top 40 charts. Musical acts would also appear on the show, and would usually lip-sync to one of their own songs. It was the first time many viewers were exposed to iconic bands like The Supremes, Ike & Tina Turner, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Stevie Wonder, Simon & Garfunkel, Iggy Pop, Prince, and Madonna. Since Clark popularized rock music by giving bands national exposure, he was inducted into Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1993 in the non-performer category.

When asked whether he missed hosting American Bandstand in a 1998 interview, he said, “I'd be lying if I told you I didn't, but I knew at one point I had to leave the party when I turned 60. It would be inappropriate to be still doing the show. Not that I couldn't physically do it and pull it off, but you gotta know when to hang it up. It's a little bit like Jerry Seinfeld saying, 'I gotta leave after this year.' It's a tough decision, but I do miss it.”

Clark also hosted five different iterations of the popular game show, Pyramid, from 1973 to 1988. The show paired a celebrity with a contestant and had them try to guess mystery words or phrases.

Clark is also famous for creating Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve, which is now hosted by Ryan Seacrest. The program, which is broadcast from Time Square in New York City to watch the ball drop, was originally aired was in 1972. Clark hosted annually until 2004.  However, he would make occasional appearances until his death in 2012. He passed at the age of 82 after a heart attack in Santa Monica, California.

What makes it unique is the texture and intensity. The grind is finer than espresso—almost like powder—and the grounds remain in the cup, creating a thick, velvety drink with a layer of foam on top.

It's meant to be sipped slowly, not rushed. In many cultures, it's also tied to conversation, hospitality and even fortune-telling after you finish the cup.

Ingredients Needed for Turkish Coffee

Here’s everything you actually need to do it right—and why it matters. Start with finely ground Turkish coffee, which should have an almost powder-like consistency; if you’re using whole beans, you’ll need a coffee or spice grinder to achieve that ultra-fine texture.

Use cold, filtered water for the best flavor, ideally measuring it with your serving cup to get the proportions just right. Sugar is optional, but if you like your coffee sweet, it should be added before brewing rather than after.

You’ll also need a cezve, the traditional Turkish coffee pot that allows the coffee to foam properly as it heats. Finally, serve the finished coffee in small demitasse cups, which are perfectly sized for the rich, concentrated brew.

How To Make Turkish Coffee

This is where everything comes together—and where small details make a huge difference. Follow this step-by-step method for making the best Turkish coffee.

Step-By-Step (Authentic Method)

Start by measuring your water using the same cup you'll be serving in, then pour that cold water into your cezve. This simple step keeps your ratios consistent and is one of those small traditional habits that really improve the final result.

Next, add one heaping teaspoon of finely ground coffee per cup of water. If you don't have Turkish coffee on hand, grind your own coffee beans into a fine powder (much finer than espresso).

Also, add sugar based on your preference. Unlike most coffee methods, Turkish coffee is sweetened before brewing, so this is your only chance to adjust the sweetness.

Give everything a gentle stir just once to combine, then leave it alone. It might feel strange not to stir again, but this is essential for forming that signature foam on top.

Place the cezve over low heat and let it warm slowly. This is the part where patience matters most—rushing with high heat will flatten the flavor, make it bitter and ruin the foam. As it heats, you'll notice a thick layer of foam forming on the surface.

Right before the coffee starts to boil, remove it from the heat. For an even richer result, you can pour half the coffee into your cup, then return it briefly to the heat once or twice more, allowing the foam to build further each time.

Finally, let the coffee rest for a few seconds, then pour the remaining slowly into your cup. A gentle pour helps keep most of the grounds settled at the bottom while preserving that beautiful foam on top.

Sugar Levels (Traditional Options)

Turkish coffee is sweetened before brewing, not after, which is one of the key differences in how it’s prepared. This allows you to tailor the sweetness to your taste right from the start.

Traditionally, there are several levels to choose from: sade means no sugar at all, while az şekerli includes about half a teaspoon for a lightly sweet flavor. Orta is the middle ground with roughly one teaspoon of sugar, and şekerli or çok şekerli ranges from one and a half to two teaspoons for a noticeably sweeter cup.

When I first tried this at home, I went with orta, and it honestly felt like the perfect balance—just enough sweetness to round it out without overpowering the coffee.

Lessons Learned When Making Turkish Coffee at Home

The biggest mistake I made the first time? I cooked it on a burner that was too large, and it boiled too fast, making it bitter. I quickly learned to pick a smaller burner and slow things down.

When I did so, I noticed the foam was thicker and creamier, the flavor tasted smoother—not harsh or bitter—and the aroma filled the entire kitchen.

I also started pouring a little foam into each cup first, then topping it off—something I'd seen in traditional methods. That tiny detail made it feel authentic, not just homemade.

How To Drink Turkish Coffee

This part is just as important as making it. Let it sit for a minute so the grounds settle, sip slowly—never stir after pouring and stop before the bottom, as that's where any remaining grounds are.

Traditionally, it's served with a small glass of water to cleanse your palate, followed by something sweet, like Turkish delight.

When I started doing this at home, it completely changed the experience. It turned coffee into a moment instead of just caffeine.

Creative Twists To Make Turkish Coffee Your Own

Once you've mastered the basics, you can start experimenting—this is where it gets fun. Add cardamom for a floral, citrusy twist; cinnamon for something warm and slightly sweet; rose water for aromatic, floral notes; or cloves for a more traditional flavor.

Turkish coffee often leans bolder and sometimes sweeter, with spices and flavorings added directly to the grind.

My favorite coffee-making upgrade, though, is to focus on developing the foam by cooking it over low heat. That's the difference between average and incredible Turkish coffee. The foam isn't just visual—it's a sign you've extracted the coffee properly.

Final Thoughts

Making Turkish coffee better isn't about fancy tools or expensive beans—it's about patience, precision and respecting the process. Once you get it right, it's hard to go back to regular coffee without feeling like something's missing.

The recent death of actor James Van Der Beek is another startling reminder of the rising rates of colorectal cancer, particularly among adults 50 and younger. According to the Cancer Research Institute, one in five people diagnosed with colorectal cancer is under 55 years old.

While the exact reasons for the rise in colorectal cancer among younger adults are still unknown, Dr. Partha Nandi, MD, FACP, a gastroenterologist with Mayo Clinic and the author of Heal Your Gut, Save Your Brain, says that diet is likely a major factor. 

“I think diet is a significant cause of the rise of colorectal cancer. We as a society—especially younger people—eat a lot of ultraprocessed foods. This type of food is made in factories, and is low in fiber and high in sugar,” he says, explaining that sugar completely disrupts the gut microbiome, which is made up of trillions of bacteria and fungi. It may sound gross, but the reality is that having a gut microbiome with diverse, good bacteria is crucial for overall health.

Dr. Nandi explains that when the gut microbiome is disrupted, it creates an environment where disease can form, including cancer. “Cancer is an overgrowth of tissue in the body. If the immune system is intact, it can [help] protect against cancer. But if the immune system is compromised because of a nutrient-poor diet, it can’t do this,” he reveals, adding that most of the body’s immune system is located in the gut.

As a gastroenterologist, it’s Dr. Nandi’s job to keep up with the latest scientific research about how diet impacts gut health—for better or for worse. He also sees it firsthand by treating patients. This knowledge has impacted the way he eats personally, which he shares below.

How Diet Can Impact Your Cancer Risk

Just like how a nutrient-poor diet can increase the risk of colorectal cancer, a nutrient-rich diet can decrease the risk. “It’s encouraging and empowering that we can decrease the risk of cancer through diet,” Dr. Nandi says.

He explains that the bacteria that make up the gut microbiome are constantly changing. This means that if you change your diet habits to be healthier, you’ll start reaping the health benefits rather quickly. “Your gut microbiome can change within weeks,” he adds.

To maintain a thriving gut microbiome, Dr. Nandi says that he focuses on eating whole foods instead of ultraprocessed ones. He prioritizes fiber-rich foods, such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains and plant-based proteins. He also regularly eats fermented foods, which help increase the good bacteria in the gut. “Every culture has fermented foods, such as kefir, kimchi, sauerkraut or pickles,” he tells Parade.

What a Gastroenterologist Eats To Lower the Risk of Colorectal Cancer

What does prioritizing a healthy gut microbiome look like? Here, Dr. Nandi shares what he eats on an average day.

For breakfast, Dr. Nandi typically has yogurt topped with fruit. He explains that the fruit provides natural sweetness, which is better for the gut than artificially flavored yogurts with sugar. The yogurt has probiotics, which feed the good bacteria in the gut. 

Instead of topping his yogurt with the same fruit every day, he switches it up. For example, one day, he’ll top it with blueberries and the next with pineapple. Dr. Nandi explains that eating a wide range of nutrient-rich foods is better for gut health than eating the same healthy food every single day. Regardless of which fruit he chooses, it’s a good source of fiber, a crucial nutrient for gut health.

Besides yogurt, he also starts the day by drinking 32 ounces of water, and he continues to stay hydrated all day. Water is key to keeping the digestive system running properly and helps prevent constipation.

Lunch

Lunch is Dr. Nandi’s biggest meal of the day and he prioritizes eating it slowly instead of scarfing it down between patients. “I don’t typically eat it all in one sitting. I spread it out over a few hours,” he tells Parade. He explains that the reason why he makes lunch his biggest meal of the day is that his brain and body need more energy during the afternoon than in the evening, after dinner.

As for what he eats, Dr. Nandi shares that he pretty much always has a big salad, but he varies the ingredients. Remember: Diversity is crucial for gut health. “I like microgreens and chickpeas. I like eggs, so I’ll have hard-boiled eggs in my salad about half the time. I often put salmon and quinoa in it,” he says.

Since his salad is so filling and he takes his time eating it, he doesn’t feel the need to snack throughout the day, such as on chips or candy.

Dinner

Dr. Nandi likes to keep his dinners simple. “Typically, I start with vegetables, such as broccoli or cauliflower. For protein, I eat chicken, fish or a plant-based protein source,” he tells Parade. 

Dr. Nandi was born in India and he says that turmeric, cumin and ginger—three spices that lower inflammation—have always been a cornerstone of his cooking. “I like to think of dinner as a meal that supports recovery and lowers inflammation before I go to sleep,” he explains.

Something Dr. Nandi doesn’t typically have with his dinner is soda or alcohol. Both drinks, he warns, are major gut disruptors.

Sleep

While it’s not a food, Dr. Nandi considers sleep “brain food,” and he does his best to get at least seven hours of sleep a night. It doesn’t always happen, but it’s always his goal. “Sleep is food for your immune system and your entire body. Having that opportunity to rest and reset is important for protecting against disease,” he explains.

Scientific research backs this up, showing that consistently not getting enough sleep is associated with a higher risk of hypertension, diabetes, obesity, depression, heart attack and stroke.

Rock legend John Fogerty is speaking candidly about his life, struggles and lasting career more than six decades after he first started making music. 

In a newly released episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, the 80-year-old singer-songwriter reflected on his darkest moments, his personal comeback and the people who helped him survive it all.

Fogerty shared that during a painful period marked by alcohol abuse and emotional turmoil, he believed he might not have made it through without his wife, Julie.

“If I hadn’t met her, I probably would be dead. Simple as that,” he said. “I didn’t see any way out. I was really abusing myself, alcohol mostly. I really felt bad inside.”

The interview, which runs over three hours, also covers his early songwriting days, his long battle to reclaim ownership of his music, and his latest project, Legacy: The Creedence Clearwater Revival Years.

Fogerty explained that his struggles were deeply tied to a long-running dispute with his record company. The conflict left him without control over songs he had written, creating anger that eventually turned inward.

“In my case, something really unjust had been done to me,” he said. “But however you get there… and then you start abusing yourself with drugs, alcohol, whatever. It just becomes a habit.”

At the time, he described himself as “that guy,” someone stuck in what he called a “perpetual binge mode,” driven by bitterness and frustration.

Everything began to change in 1986 when he met Julie while on tour. The two later married in 1991 and built a family together, raising three children. Fogerty credits her with helping him rediscover both himself and his music.

“One day [I] just suddenly met Julie, not expecting to meet the love of my life… the person that would, through her good graces, help me find myself and help me enjoy and find the joy of life again,” he said. “And it all changed.”

Beyond emotional support, Julie also played a key role in his professional life. During the 1980s, Fogerty had stopped performing songs from his Creedence Clearwater Revival catalog due to legal disputes. Over time, she encouraged him to reconnect with the music that defined his career.

He later shared that the decision brought him peace.

“I’m just really happy that my life turned out this way and I get to celebrate that music [now].”

Fogerty’s reflections come as he continues to stay active in music at age 80. His Legacy Tour has been extended into 2026, with new dates added across major venues. The tour supports his 2025 album, Legacy: The Creedence Clearwater Revival Years, a re-recording of classic songs from his catalog.

The upcoming shows will feature both solo performances and co-headlining dates with fellow Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Steve Winwood. Together, they are set to deliver extended concerts that celebrate decades of classic rock.

The tour’s expansion highlights Fogerty’s enduring influence in music. His career began in the late 1950s and rose to global fame with Creedence Clearwater Revival, a band that produced multiple hit songs and albums between 1968 and 1972.

Even after the group disbanded, Fogerty continued as a solo artist, earning recognition as one of the greatest songwriters and singers in rock history. Over the years, his music has remained relevant, with songs like “Proud Mary,” “Fortunate Son” and “Have You Ever Seen the Rain” still widely played today.

Now, after more than 67 years in music, Fogerty says he is finally in a place where he can celebrate both his life and his work.

Even though Oceania is known for their culinary programs, the food in Alaska is worth traveling for too, especially if you lean into crab, chowder, smoked salmon, and just-caught seafood that that you saw captured in front of your own eyes. • Tracy’s King Crab Shack, Juneau
  Arguably one of the most famous restaurants in Juneau, Tracy's is an institution it its own right. Situated right on the waterfront right near the deck Riveria will be parked at, you go to Tracy's for their seafood — especially the king crab, crab bisque, and crab cakes.
• Deckhand Dave’s, Juneau
  For something more casual and a little cooler, stop at Deckhand Dave's for fish tacos, oysters, and whatever ultra-fresh seafood was just caught that day. It is one of the better picks for travelers who want something local without sitting through a long port lunch.

The Best Time to Go, and 3 Things You Can’t Miss

Late June into mid-July is one of the best times to cruise Alaska. For one, there is light until close to 11pm in most places, giving you more time in the day for wildlife spottings. Whales are very active in the summer months, and you'll almost be guaranteed humpback breechings and spottings from the side of the ship.

The season runs from May through September, but this window neatly overlaps some of the best whale watching of the year with the bright, lingering daylight that makes southeast Alaska feel especially cinematic. Additionally, the weather is also the most cooperative during this time, with highs in the mid-to-low 60s, and lows in the 40s and 50s.

If you're anything like me, you want every day at port booked with some activity. Alaska is a beacon for hiking, cycling, boating, and expeditioning. However, if you can only book three excursions, here are the three both myself, and the cruise experts, highly recommend.

• White Pass Railway & City Tour, Skagway: Oceania’s White Pass outing folds together the two things Skagway does best: Gold Rush history and mountain scenery. You ride the White Pass and Yukon Route Railroad along the trail stamped into the high pass by stampeders, then return to town for a look at landmarks like Moore House and the Gold Rush Cemetery. 

• Misty Fjords Flightseeing, Ketchikan: This one is a splurge, with Oceania currently listing it at $529 per person. However, it's the kind of excursion people remember long after the trip is over. The flight, which is on a floatplane or DeHavilland Turbo Otter seaplane, gives you a sweeping look at Misty Fjords’ cliffs, waterfalls, lakes, and forested peaks, which is one of the most dramatic ways to understand the scale of southeast Alaska.

1943-S Washington Quarter Doubled Die - Valued at up to $575

While some coins may be rare because of how few there are of them, others are worth a lot more than face value due to the face of the coins themselves, which is the case with the 1943-S Washington quarter, according to Remitly. Some of these coins appear to have two images because of an error in the die used to mint them.

You can also see the doubling effect where it says "IN GOD WE TRUST" as well as on parts of the Liberty profile. You may need a magnifying glass to catch the misprint, but when you find one, you'd better hold onto it since the coin trading site JM Bullion says it can be worth up to $575 for some lucky folks.

1950-D/S Washington Quarter Overmintmark - Valued at up to $14,400

Those misprints can really be worth a lot in some cases, as happened with the 1950-D/S Washington quarter. This error is actually a bit more noticeable, since the coins were originally minted with an S on them. However, the Denver Mint didn't realise it at the time and added a D mint mark right over top of it.

The end result was a coin that has both a D and S printed right over top of one another, which the GreySheet says has contributed to these coins going for any where between $15.47 and $14,400.

1932-S Washington Quarter - Valued at up to $28,600

Trying to rustle up a few extra bucks by searching your change drawer? Well, if you find the 1932-S Washington quarter, you could be looking at more than a few extra dollars. That's because the quarter is currently listed at $28,600 on the coin valuation site Apmex.

Remitly says only 408,000 of these coins were minted, making them pretty rare. IT was also produced by the San Francisco Mint, where it was deemed one of the lowest-mintage Washington coins. That's likely because this coin was minted during the Great Depression, when demand for coins was low. Even well-worn coins from this collection can be worth upwards of $100, making it worth keeping an eye out for.

1932-D Washington Quarter - Valued at up to $143,750

And finally, our big winner is the Washington quarter from 1932. There were just 436,800 of these coins made at the Denver Mint, making it a hot commodity among collectors. According to Remitly, it's one of the hardest coins to come by, which is likely why it can fetch such a pretty penny (pun intended) when you get your hands on it.

Even those in rough shape are good for a payday, according to the blog, and some well-circulated pieces have fetched $100 in the past.

A song first written in the 1950s found its biggest voice in 1972, when Three Dog Night turned “Black and White” into a chart-topping hit that continues to echo across generations. 

The track reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and the Easy Listening chart, cementing its place as one of the most memorable songs of its era and a lasting symbol of unity.

Released as part of the album Seven Separate Fools, the band’s version stood out for its upbeat sound and meaningful message. Led by vocalist Danny Hutton, the recording featured a children’s chorus that gave the song a hopeful and inclusive tone. On Sept. 16, 1972, the track officially hit the top of the U.S. pop charts, marking a major milestone in the group’s career.

Though widely associated with the band, “Black and White” has roots that go much deeper.

The song was originally written in 1954 by David I. Arkin and Earl Robinson. It was inspired by the landmark Brown v. Board of Education ruling, which ended racial segregation in public schools in the United States.

Early versions carried a more direct reference to that moment in history. The original opening verse read:

“Their robes were black, their heads were white,
The schoolhouse doors were closed so tight,
Nine judges all set down their names,
To end the years and years of shame.”

The first recording came in 1956 by folk singer Pete Seeger, followed by other renditions from artists like Sammy Davis Jr. Over time, the song evolved, with later versions simplifying the lyrics to make the message more universal.

By the early 1970s, reggae groups such as Greyhound and The Maytones brought new attention to the track. It was Greyhound’s version that ultimately inspired Three Dog Night to create their own take.

Three Dog Night’s interpretation stripped away some of the historical specificity but kept the core message of unity. 

With lines like “The ink is black, the page is white / Together we learn to read and write,” the song became easier for a wider audience to embrace.

The band’s version didn’t just perform well, it dominated. It reached No. 1 in the United States and Canada and also topped charts in New Zealand. It climbed into the Top 10 in several other countries, including Austria and the United Kingdom.

Billboard later ranked it No. 63 on its 1972 year-end chart, reflecting its strong performance in a competitive year for music.

At the time, Three Dog Night was already one of the most successful acts in rock. Formed in Los Angeles in 1967, the group, featuring Chuck Negron, Cory Wells, and Hutton, built a reputation for powerful three-part harmonies and hit songs. Between 1969 and 1975, they scored 21 Top 40 hits, including three No. 1 singles.

“Black and White” became one of their signature tracks, often highlighted in live performances even decades later.

Beyond its chart success, the song’s message has helped it endure. Its focus on equality and togetherness continues to resonate, especially as new generations discover its meaning.

Elvis Presley was no stranger to singing the blues, but there's one song in particular that he found to be the "saddest" track ever written.

It was none other than Hank Williams' iconic track "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry," that struck an emotional cord with the King of Rock and Roll. Elvis covered the song during his legendary Aloha from Hawaii via Satellite concert recorded in January 1973, introducing it as the "probably the saddest song" he'd ever heard, per American Songwriter.

He then performed a live version of Williams' track, using his smooth, soulful vocals to deliver an equally emotional rendition of the beloved country ballad. (The concert filmed from Honolulu was broadcast live around the world, but it didn't air in the U.S. until April 1973 due to a conflict with Super Bowl VII.)

Elvis never recorded a studio version of the song, but his cover was included on his Aloha from Hawaii Via Satellite live album, which released in February 1973 and ended up hitting No. 1 on the Billboard Top LPs Chart (now known as the Billboard 200 albums list), in May 1973.

As for Williams, who recorded "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry" in August 1949, he released the song that November as the B-side to the single "My Bucket's Got a Hole in It." It never reached the top of the Billboard chart, peaking at No. 4, but it would still become one of the most enduring songs from Williams' catalog.

In fact, "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry" is ranked at No. 4 on Rolling Stone's list of the 200 Greatest Country Songs of All Time, and in addition to Elvis, it has been covered by a number of other music superstars, including the likes of Johnny Cash, Al Green, Roy Orbison, B.J. Thomas, Dean Martinand more.

On this day in 1976, Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” was climbing the Billboard Hot 100 — kicking off a rare chart run that would span multiple decades. 

The track, written by frontman Freddie Mercury and released on Halloween as the lead single from the band’s A Night at the Opera album, debuted on the chart at No. 81, and eventually climbed into the Top 10 — marking Queen’s first major breakthrough in the U.S.

But the chart history was hardly over. 

In 1992, “Bohemian Rhapsody” surged back onto the charts. Following the death of Mercury in November 1991 and an unforgettable scene in 1992’s Wayne’s World, the song rose all the way to No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, reintroducing it to a new generation and cementing its play in pop culture.

Then, decades later, it happened again.

In 2018, the track found fresh life following the release of the Rami Malek biopic Bohemian Rhapsody. After the film’s premiere, the song became the most-streamed track from the 20th century, surpassing 1.6 billion global streams, per Universal Music Group. Today, it has more than 3 billion streams.

Looking back on the song’s creation, Mercury once revealed just how unconventional its structure really was. Sharing the origin story of the rock song in a 1984 interview, he said, “I basically was writing three songs, and they were going to be different. I just couldn’t finish them, and I just thought, Oh, dammit, I’ll just put the three together."

Few songs ever return to the charts once — let alone across three different eras. C'mon No. 4!

Maureen McCormick paid tribute to her Brady Bunch past as part of a fun new ad campaign. The actress, who played Marcia Brady on the beloved ABCsitcom from 1969 to 1974, teamed up with J. Press and Alex Mill for a photoshoot for their spring 2026 ad campaign. As a bonus, McCormick’s husband, Michael Cummings, was part of the J. Press x Alex Mill ad, too.

In a video posted to the Alex Mill Facebook page, McCormick, 69, and her husband were seen wearing colorful rugby shirts as The Brady Bunch theme song played. McCormick channeled the iconic opening credits to the classic TV show as she smiled and looked up and over at the other models who appeared in a box-style camera shot. There was also a nod to McCormick’s famous “The Subject  Was Noses” episode of The Brady Bunch as Cummings pretended to toss a football, which luckily didn’t hit her in the face.

“When Marcia Brady is in your shoot, we knew there was only thing to do… We loved our J. Press x Alex Mill bunch. Maureen McCormick what a treat!!” the video was captioned.

McCormick also posted the video to Instagram. “We love you @jpress x @alexmillny

McCormick and her husband were part of the second J. Press x Alex Mill collab, which is already getting rave reviews. GQ noted that Alex Mill’s “reliably cheery menswear riffs on the exact type of wholesome Americana J. Press perfected decades ago," adding that the latest collaboration “retrofits Hyannis Port classics with exuberant spring hues.”

“The duo’s second effort picks up right where the first left off, remixing J. Press catalog classics in a kaleidoscope of sun-drenched spring hues,” the outlet shared.

McCormick also appeared behind the scenes as she visited the Alex Mill offices. In a video posted to Instagram, Mickey Drexler, the chairman of the New York-based clothing brand, introduced the actress by saying, “My old friend Maureen McCormick, if you remember her from The Brady Bunch. She is a huge fan of Alex Mill.”

McCormick modeled black denim overalls and declared that overalls “have never gone away.” “You can dress them up or dress them down. … I am such a fan,” she said.

I recently sailed on the brand new Norwegian Luna, which made its inaugural voyage in March. As someone who used to work on Norwegian Cruise Lineas a performer, getting to see its newest ships is always very exciting. Now, although I used to work on ships, I also genuinely enjoy them as a way to vacation. I go on at least three cruises per year for leisure, and am always comparing and contrasting what I like about certain cruise lines or certain ships within their fleets.

Norwegian Cruise Line has changed its entertainment quite drastically over the past five years, especially with its bigger ships coming out. It has completely scaled back on its Broadway productions onboard, no longer showing Beetlejuice, Summer: The Donna Summer Musical, Six, Kinky Boots, Rock of Ages, and many others that used to be circulating around the fleet.

In my personal opinion, this was a mistake for NCL to take away these full scale Broadway productions. It was a wonderful way to allow people from all over the world to get to see these shows, an experience that they may never be able to get otherwise. I especially think that a show like this would do wonderfully on the Norwegian Luna, but alas, that isn’t the case.

What Entertainment Is Actually Offered Onboard The NCL Luna? A Tribute to the Eagles onboard the Norwegian Luna

Norwegian Cruise Line

No Broadway shows aside, the NCL Luna does offer quite a variety of entertainment onboard, and I will say right off the bat that I enjoyed them all. In the main stage theatre, there are two large production shows: ELTON: A Celebration of Elton John, and HIKO: Innovation Meets Wonder.

Both of these shows are performed by the production cast onboard, which is a mixture of a total of 18 singers and dancers. Also in the main theatre, the cast of Syd Norman’s Pourhouse performs two tributes: A Tribute to the Eagles and A Tribute to Fleetwood Mac Rumours.

Syd Norman’s Pourhouse also has its own location onboard, which is themed like a gastropub in a small town. You can order drinks at the bar or get drinks served directly to your table. Each night, the cast performs various themed sets.

Across the way, there is LunaTique Pop Circus, which is performed in a smaller venue by the main production cast singers. This show costs $45 per person, but it also comes with four specialty cocktails that get served during the show.

Review of ELTON: A Celebration of Elton John

As someone who used to perform for Norwegian Cruise Line as a singer and a dancer, my perspective on this show is a bit more nuanced. This show was conceived in house at Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings’ Creative Studios, making it a unique production that can only be see on the Norwegian Luna.

Norwegian Cruise Line

When it comes to original shows created by NCL, I do think that ELTON is one of the best. Most of the shows onboard the ships are “revue shows” which feature popular songs following a specific theme.

With ELTON, it stays with one artist, and there is much more of a through-line when compared to your average revue show. Right off the bat, I could tell that a lot of care and thought was put into the quality of this production. The set itself is incredible, featuring 12 pianos that are situated in various ways throughout the stage. The cast uses them in innovative ways, using the pianos to amplify each dance step and add textures and layers that make it incredibly exciting.

Another big standout to me in this show is the choreography. In general, I find that choreography on cruise ships can feel like you’re at a dance recital. It lacks intention, dynamics and thrill. Many times, I felt that way as a performer on ships. With ELTON, however, that isn't the situation at all. I truly felt that each step of choreography had a purpose, and is ultimately used to tell the story of each song that is being performed. There is a mixture of contemporary ballet, hiphop, commercial-style and jazz intertwined. With such a wide range of styles, the cast handles it beautifully, with both ease and power.

My only hesitation with ELTON is that the show attempted to create characters within only some of the performers, adding lines here or there with small scene work. This felt like it wanted to be a book musical, closer to the style of a Broadway show. Since they didn’t go all the way, however, it fell flat. I think if a show wants to have a plot, with characters and scene work, then it should be done full-throttle. By just adding a bit here or there, it felt confusing and unnecessary.

Review of HIKO: Innovation Meets Wonder

HIKO is a production that is solely performed by the dancers in the production cast. It’s an incredibly high-tech show, featuring video projection, 3D mapping, acrobats and an original score. If you are a common cruiser with Norwegian Cruise Line, you may have seen the show Elements, which is very similar to HIKO. Both are dance-centric shows that feature dramatic and exciting effects, however I must say that HIKO blows Elements out of the water.

As a dancer watching this show, it made me want to jump out of my seat and dance with them. The choreography is incredibly dynamic, and presents to the audience just how athletic, emotive, and downright talented this cast of dancers are. Some may think that 45 minutes of straight dancing with no singing or speaking would get quite boring, but that is the furthest from the truth. The show flies by, and if I didn’t have a dinner reservation the evening that I saw it, I would have gone to see it a second time.

Review of LunaTique Pop Circus

For a show that costs $45 extra onboard, I will say that it was absolutely worth it. The show is meant for passengers who are 21 years old and older, as it includes a high level of sexual content. It features the six singers from the production cast, all of whom are dressed like overly sexualized circus performers. They perform pop songs that almost everyone watching will know, interact with the audience (don’t sit in the front of you’re shy!), and dance their hearts out.

The costumes, created by Chappel Roan’s costume designers James Nguyen and A.C. Gottlieb, are intricate, gorgeous, and very risqué. They definitely help to bring the audience directly into this dramatic and sexy world that is LunaTique. A big highlight for me is the choreography by Emily Evenden.

The complex, hilarious and enticing choreography is even more impressive when it's coming from a group of singers. This cast blew me away by not only their immensely stunning vocals, but by their strong ability to dance and own the confidence in their bodies.

This is a show that I would recommend for a couple or a group of friends to go and see. I definitely don’t recommend going with your family, unless you’re used to crude sex jokes and dirty humor.
