Jelly Roll has filed for divorce from Bunnie XO, according to TMZ. The outlet reported that the country music superstar—whose real name is Jason DeFord—filed paperwork in Tennessee last month.

Hours after breaking the news, TMZ posted photos of a large moving truck outside of the home the former couple shared. In one photo, a semi-truck from Music City Movers is parked in front of the mansion with its rear doors open.

While it's unclear who is moving out of the home, TMZ spoke with neighbors who said it's the first time they'd ever seen a moving truck at the residence.

Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO first met in 2015 and tied the knot the following year—before Jelly Roll rose to fame. Bunnie XO, whose real name is Alisa DeFord, has supported Jelly Roll as his career grew from a regional artist into one of country music’s biggest names. Throughout their marriage, Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO have often been open about their relationship—the good and the bad.

Hours before the news broke, Bunnie XO posted a photo of herself in white lingerie on her Instagram Stories with the caption, "She's getting her sparkle back." She used the song "Help I'm Alive" by Metric to accompany the post.

Neither Jelly Roll nor Bunnie XO have spoken out about the split and the reason for the seemingly sudden divorce filing isn't clear.

Sally Field spent much of her first movie nodding along to Robert Mitchum without having any idea what he was saying. But one comment from the screen icon cut through the confusion—and two decades later, she realized it had been a prediction about her future all along.

During the filming of The Way West in 1967, Field was an up-and-coming actress who shared the screen with stars such as Mitchum, Kirk Douglas, and Richard Widmark. Though she often struggled to understand Mitchum's mumbled conversations, she sensed that he accepted her as a peer—an affirmation that would prove far more meaningful years later when she finally understood the significance of one remark he made on set.

“Mitchum would sit with me, and I never could understand a single word he said,” Field shared on theTalking Pictures podcast. “I didn't know what he was saying! I don't know if he was stoned or what, but I couldn't string two words together. And I would go, ‘yeah, yeah,’ and [I’d laugh] and pretend I understood what he said.”

Despite having to decode what he was saying, Field thought “that he was somehow accepting of me. He was good to me.” 

Field recounted, “The only thing that I understood that he said to me — and then I thought, did I understand that right? — he said, ‘You know, you're one of us.' And I went, ‘Well, okay.’”

At the time, she didn't fully grasp what the remark meant. It wasn't until about 20 years later that she had an aha moment. “In the early ‘80s, I had to join a table at the People's Choice Award… And I went to sit down at this table, and Mitchum was across the table,” Field shared. “He was still alive — older, obviously — and he stood up, and we looked at each other, and he said, ‘I told you so.’”

The Beach Boys are back—just in time for summer.

The album Sounds of Summer: The Very Best of the Beach Boys is climbing the charts once again, more than 20 years after its release. The greatest hits compilation album, originally released in 2023, has re-entered the Billboard 200 for the week of June 20, marking its 369th week overall on the coveted album chart.

Sounds of Summer: The Very Best of the Beach Boys was first released by Capitol Records on June 10, 2003. It featured dozens of tracks from the California-based band, including all four of their No. 1 hits: “Kokomo,” “I Get Around,” “Good Vibrations,” and “Help Me, Rhonda.”

The album, which also included everything from “California Girls” and “Surfin' USA” to "Fun, Fun, Fun” and “Be True to Your School,” has since had multiple re-releases, most recently a remix and remaster in conjunction with the group’s 60th anniversary in June 2022.

According to the official Beach Boys website, the greatest hits collection had sold over 4 million copies before the 2022 re-issue, which featured two additional discs.

Describing the beloved group as “an unstoppable machine,” it was also noted that the Beach Boys had 26 Top 40 hits between 1962 and 1968 alone.

Formed in 1961 in Hawthorne, California, The Beach Boys' classic lineup featured brothers Brian, Dennis, and Carl Wilson, their cousin Mike Love, and friend Al Jardine. David Marks was part of the group's early years, while later incarnations included Bruce Johnston, Ricky Fataar, and Blondie Chaplin.

In a 2007 interview with Classic Rock magazine, Brian Wilson recalled the day he first walked into Capitol Records in 1962 to cut a record deal.

“I remember walking into the building with my father and [record producer] Gary Usher,” the Beach Boys legend shared. “We met the A&R man, and he listened to our demos and he signed us right on the spot. I just wanted to make records. I didn’t know how big it would get. I didn’t think it would.”

Just days before Father's Day, Jalen Brunson walked onto The Tonight Show stage holding the Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy, and almost immediately started talking about his dad.

The New York Knickstook over Monday's episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon two days after clinching the franchise's first NBA title in 53 years, defeating the San Antonio Spurs 94–90 in Game 5 on Saturday night. Finals MVP Brunson (who scored 45 points in the clincher, matching Michael Jordan as the only other player in history to score that many points in a championship-winning game) walked out to the Roots playing 'We Are the Champions' and a studio audience made up entirely of Knicks fans who couldn't get Finals tickets.

Fallon reminded Brunson that during a 2024 appearance on the show, the point guard had made a promise, namely to 'bring the trophy here' if the Knicks win. 'And you're a man of your word,' Fallon said. 'Here it is right here.' When asked if the championship had sunk in yet, Brunson shook his head. 'It hasn't sunk in yet,' he said. 'And I don't know if it will for a while. The opportunity presented itself. We went out there as a team, we found a way to do it and fight back all those games, and it was worth it.'

The most touching moment of the night came when Fallon showed Brunson footage he hadn't seen: a clip of his father, Knicks assistant coach Rick Brunson, celebrating on the court after the final buzzer. Rick was a member of the last Knicks team to reach the NBA Finals, in 1999, when New York fell to the Spurs. The Brunsons are now the first father-son duo in NBA history to each reach the Finals with the same franchise. 'I was good before I saw him,' Brunson told Fallon of the postgame moment with his father, 'and then I obviously got emotional afterwards. It was everything I dreamed of. It's all the times we had together. When you're a kid and he's practicing with you, going over drills over and over again... you put all your energy into the little details that actually matter.' Fallon then put up a photo of Rick Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns Sr. both holding the trophy. 'Both of your dads,' he noted.

Towns, who broke a postseason record held by Steph Curry by outscoring opponents by 258 points across the playoffs, had spoken throughout the Finals about his late mother, Jacqueline Cruz-Towns, who died of COVID-19 complications in April 2020 at age 58. On the Fallon stage, Towns told Fallon that knowing her energy was in that building 'had to help.' 'I did what I was supposed to do,' he said.

The episode also featured a now-viral exchange about Coach Mike Brown's infamous 'Who Let the Dogs Out' pregame ritual, which Brunson admitted originated with a 7-year-old flag football team Brown once coached in San Antonio. Brunson revealed he still listens to Justin Bieber in the locker room immediately after every pregame talk, a detail Fallon remembered from a previous interview. 'Has to be Bieber right before I run out,' Brunson confirmed. Brown, sitting right there, did not look particularly thrilled about being linked to either the Baja Men or Justin Bieber.

Wu-Tang Clan performed, Spike Lee crashed the monologue as an unannounced guest, and Fallon called the booking '53 years in the making.' But the part that will stay with people was probably a father and a son sharing a victory.

Comedian Nate Bargatze may have thought he was just attending a UFC event, but his appearance at President Donald Trump's White House birthday celebration has landed him at the center of a growing fan backlash.

Actress Cheryl Hines, the wife of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., posted a photo with Bargatze at the event, prompting criticism from some fans who accused the comedian of aligning himself with the MAGA movement.

However, his representative told The Huffington Post that Bargatze "is not political, nor is anything he produces. He is also a huge UFC fan and has been since before it became political," adding that he was simply there to promote his new movie Breadwinner and "he went last night to enjoy a sport he loves.”

That explanation may not be enough for some fans. Many took to Threads to criticize his appearance at the event, with several expressing surprise that he attended.

"Nate Bargatze was by far the most shocking and disappointing attendee for me. One of my favorite comedians and a genuinely decent guy. Dude should have known how bad it would look," one person shared.

Another commenter shared a list of celebrities, including Bill Cosby, James Franco, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and others, adding Bargatze's name and writing, "I never suspected…"

Others took issue with the comedian's reported apolitical stance.

"Nate Bargatze can support Trump. Nate Bargatze can attend Trump’s White House UFC party. Nate Bargatze can pose for photos with political figures," one person posted. "What Nate Bargatze can’t do is all of those things and then pull the 'I’m not political' card like we're all f—king idiots."

Bargatze has long maintained that he avoids politics in his comedy. In a 2017 interview with the Nashville Scene, he explained why.

"I don’t talk about politics, and a huge part of it is just because there’s enough people doing it. It is on every television show, late-night show. No one’s complaining they can’t find enough opinions on what’s going on. I’ve never talked about it, I’m not smart enough to talk about it. I just leave it alone and hope to be people’s break. It’s hard to even get a break anymore, because sports are now getting political — no one can go anywhere without it being some kind of message or something."

For his part, Bargatze has yet to publicly address the controversy. His most recent Threads post, published June 1, promoted Breadwinner, while his Instagram account has continued to focus on stand-up, including recent tour content and positive fan reactions shared to his Instagram Story.

Drawing on years of brewing experience and countless tastings, Muckerman shared his favorite grocery-store IPAs across a variety of categories, from beginner-friendly picks and hazy favorites to low-calorie options and underrated gems. Muckerman's recommendations span a wide range of styles, regions and drinking occasions. His picks include iconic craft beer classics, newer grocery-store favorites and a few underrated bottles that deserve more attention.

"Two Hearted Ale has been widely renowned as one of the top American IPAs for many years," says Muckerman. "It's a balanced, full-bodied beer that beautifully balances bitterness with fresh notes of grapefruit, citrus and floral pine."

Best Hazy IPA: Sierra Nevada Hazy Little Thing ($11.99)

For fans of juicy, fruit-forward IPAs, Muckerman recommends Sierra Nevada Hazy Little Thing. He says the widely available beer delivers everything people typically look for in a hazy IPA and it's widely available at nearly every grocery store that sells beer.

"It is highly accessible and hits all of the bases generally sought after in a hazy IPA," he says. "It has a pillowy mouthfeel and a rich, bright citrus hop profile."

Best West Coast IPA: Pliny the Elder ($8.99 per bottle)

West Coast IPAs have evolved significantly over the years, but Muckerman says Pliny the Elder remains one of the style's defining examples.

"When I think about my favorite true West Coast-style beer, Pliny the Elder comes to mind," he says.

Brewed by Russian River Brewing Company, the beer is known for its hop-forward flavor and legendary status among craft beer enthusiasts. Muckerman credits brewer Vinnie Cilurzo with creating a beer that belongs on every IPA lover's bucket list.

While Pliny the Elder isn't as widely distributed as some of the other beers on this list and may not be available in every grocery store, Muckerman says it's worth seeking out if you spot it. "Each time I've had it, I've thoroughly enjoyed it and left wanting more than the one bottle I could snag," he says.

Best Light IPA: Dogfish Head Slightly Mighty ($10.99)

Low-calorie beers often sacrifice flavor, but Muckerman says Dogfish Head Slightly Mighty proves that doesn't have to be the case.

"The best low-calorie IPA is hands down Slightly Mighty," he says.

At 95 calories and 4.0% ABV per 12-ounce serving, the beer delivers tropical aromas of mango and pineapple while remaining easy to drink. Muckerman calls it "extremely sessionable" and says it's one of his favorite beers to enjoy on a hot summer day.

Best IPA for Beginners: Bell's Two Hearted Ale ($11.99)

Many people avoid IPAs because they assume every beer in the category will be overwhelmingly bitter. Not so. Muckerman says that's a misconception and points beginners toward Bell's Two Hearted Ale as an approachable introduction to the style.

"There are a lot of preconceived notions about IPAs that they are all 'obnoxiously bitter' or 'taste like tree bark,'" he says. "However, there are plenty of entry-level IPAs that are crisp, clean and not overly bitter."

He recommends Two Hearted because it strikes a balance between hop character and drinkability without overwhelming new IPA drinkers.

Best Nonalcoholic IPA: Athletic Brewing Run Wild IPA ($10.99)

Muckerman's favorite nonalcoholic IPA comes from Athletic Brewing, a brand that has become increasingly common on grocery store shelves.

"I would recommend Athletic's Run Wild if you are looking for a good NA IPA," he says.

Muckerman notes that nonalcoholic beers don't fully replicate the traditional IPA experience because alcohol contributes significantly to flavor, body and richness. Still, he appreciates the innovation happening within the category and believes the future of NA brewing is promising.

Best IPA for Food Pairing: Port City Monumental IPA ($11.99)

According to Muckerman, the best beer to bring to the dinner table comes from his own backyard.

"My best IPA for food pairing would also be a good beginner-friendly choice, Monumental IPA brewed by Port City Brewing Company in Alexandria, Virginia," he says.

Personally, this beer goes with just about every meal, from pizza nights to takeout Thai. "I am a big fan of spicy food, and when I'm feeling the heat, nothing beats a refreshing sip of Monumental," he says.

Muckerman says the beer works particularly well because it has enough character to stand on its own before dinner without overpowering whatever is on your plate. Instead, he says it complements a wide variety of foods, making it a dependable choice whether you're ordering takeout or firing up the grill.

Most Underrated IPA: Bear Republic Racer 5 IPA ($10.99)

Muckerman believes Bear Republic Racer 5 deserves far more attention than it receives.

"Their flagship IPA, Racer 5, is in the same league as Bell's Two Hearted IPA," he says.

He describes the beer as having grapefruit, citrus and subtle floral pine notes balanced by a malty backbone. Whether you're heading to a backyard gathering or settling in for movie night, Muckerman says it's a dependable choice. His advice? "If you see this beer in the grocery store, grab a six-pack—you won't regret it."

When availability is the priority, Muckerman points to Lagunitas IPA, one of the easiest craft IPAs to find nationwide.

"My pick for the most widely available IPA is Lagunitas IPA from Lagunitas Brewing Company," he says.

The brewery operates multiple facilities that help support broad distribution, making the beer a common sight on grocery store shelves across the country.

"It's always a classic West Coast-style IPA that tastes the same, so you know what you're getting when you buy it," says Muckerman.

Whether you're stocking the fridge for the weekend, returning home from a road trip or visiting friends in another state, he says Lagunitas is a reliable choice. "It's reliable, generally always on the shelf, and I know what I'm getting."

If you're looking for the most bang for your buck, Muckerman once again points to Bell's.

"There are other IPAs out there that are less expensive, but in my opinion, there are few other brands that produce a better 'bang for your buck' product at a national scale like the brewers at Bell's do," he says.

Its combination of quality, consistency and widespread availability helped it earn his top value pick.

There are over 130 dining options at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, and having covered theme parks as a travel journalist for more than a decade, I've tried many of them. The options range from snack carts dishing out churros and pickles (two iconic Disneyland snacks) to high-end restaurants that feel like they shouldn’t be anywhere near rollercoasters, but somehow magically are. But when I’m at Disneyland, the one restaurant I always make a reservation for is Goofy’s Kitchen. 

The character dining buffet is a blast from the past and feels straight out of the 90s in the best way possible. From wacky decor that looks like Goofy decorated everything himself, to a buffet filled with dozens of classic and imaginative dishes, this is one meal I never skip at Disneyland. Can You Eat At Goofy’s Kitchen If You’re Not Staying At The Hotel?

Yes, anyone with a reservation for Goofy’s Kitchen can eat there. It’s pretty easy to make a reservation, too. You can do it on the Disneyland website or on the Disneyland Resort app. Reservations open 60 days in advance, and popular seasonal meals like Christmas and Easter tend to fill up faster than the “normal” experience at Goofy’s Kitchen.

What Meals Are Served At Goofy’s Kitchen?  The breakfast buffet at Goofy's kitchen includes everything from eggs and bacon to creative pizzas.

Goofy’s Kitchen serves breakfast from 7:00 am until 10:30 am, then brunch starts at 11:00 am until 1:30 pm. After brunch, the restaurant closes for a bit, then re-opens for dinner from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm.

My favorite meal here is breakfast, not just because it’s a fun way to start a day at Disneyland, but because it’s the cheapest option with delicious food ranging from breakfast staples like eggs and bacon to a full soft-serve ice cream sundae station. And, hey, you’re on vacation, so why not get an ice cream at breakfast? A few of my favorite breakfast items are chilaquiles, chicken-and-waffles pizza, and, of course, Mickey waffles. I promise, you’ll be making your way up to the buffet line more than once during your meal to try a little bit of everything. 

At brunch, similar items to breakfast are served with the addition of a carving station.

Dinner features a smorgasbord of options, from salads and artisan pizza to a carving station and plenty of sides. Then, when it comes to dessert, there’s a whole station dedicated to sweets, from cookies and cupcakes to bars and warm cobblers and bread puddings.

Before you’re even seated, you’ll get the chance to see Goofy in his Kitchen. I do love that your PhotoPass pictures with Chef Goofy are also included in the cost of your meal. It’s a super cute setup, and Goofy is super fun to meet. 

Then, during your meal, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Chip ’n’ Dale will stop by your table for autographs and photos. Just know that there are times when the characters may be different, and the characters I listed above are not guaranteed.

How Much Does Goofy’s Kitchen Cost Per Person?

The cost per person is based on a lot of factors, including which meal period your reservation is for, seasonality (Goofy’s Kitchen has some seasonal meals that cost a little extra), and the ages of each guest. Breakfast is $59 for adults and $36 for kids (ages three to nine), brunch is $64 for adults and $36 for kids, and dinner is $69 for adults and $39 for kids. What Other Character Dining Options Are At Disneyland? 

There are three other character dining options at the Disneyland Resort. Two of them, Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures and Storytellers Cafe, are located at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. Storyteller’s Cafe offers a similar character buffet experience, but with Mickey and the gang ready for a day in a National Park. The Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures is more of a dining experience than a traditional character meal, where you’ll get breakfast and do activities with a host of Disney Princesses.

I’ve been to Goofy’s Kitchen countless times, and every time I think it’s worth it, especially at breakfast. Since I travel to California from the East Coast, I like to make one of the first reservations available between 7:00 am and 8:00 am. I’ve likely already been up for a few hours anyway, so the early morning start isn’t usually an issue. And if I get the 7:00 a.m. reservation, I can usually be in the park by 9:00, and still take advantage of the lower wait times for rides in the morning. 

The character interactions at Goofy’s Kitchen are also unmatched. Every time I’ve gone, the characters have spent a ton of time at my table taking photos and interacting with my family. And let’s be honest, seeing multiple characters in one setting is simply a lot of fun. 

While the price can be hard to swallow, to me, Goofy’s Kitchen is a must-do dining experience at Disneyland. With plenty of tasty food options on the buffet line, plus the chance to see a handful of characters, it’s a win-win, especially at breakfast.

On June 16, 1989, Ghostbusters II flew into theaters, hoping to match the highs of the first film.

It was a sequel to one of the biggest hits ever, Ghostbusters, reuniting the original cast of Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson.

The film took a more family-friendly approach, leaning into comedy and spectacle rather than the darker tone of the original, while still giving fans plenty of iconic moments, like a river of mood-changing slime under NYC and the Statue of Liberty coming to life and walking through New York.

And though it struggled to match the cultural impact of the original film, it still shot to No. 1 upon its premiere in theaters, with a $29.5 million opening weekend, setting a record at the time for a non-holiday debut. It also set an all-time record for a one-day opening, netting about $10 million on Friday, per the Los Angeles Times.

“It’s pretty exciting,” Columbia Marketing President Buffy Shutt told the outlet at the time, noting, “I think we expected a big opening. But, it’s always a wonderful surprise when you have the biggest three-day gross ever."

Worldwide, it grossed about $215 million on a roughly $37 million budget, finishing as one of the top 10 films of 1989 despite only making half of the original’s domestic total.

The film fell out of the top spot quickly after opening due to massive competition from other hit films, including Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and Lethal Weapon 2, with the summer eventually being dubbed the Summer of Batman.

Even now, 37 years later, it continues to leave behind a mixed legacy, with fans of the franchise deeply divided over it.

A Reddit thread questioned, "Was "Ghostbusters 2" really THAT bad of a movie?" as fans debated, with many pointing at a rushed and uninspired script with a repetitive plot as the biggest flaw.

"No, it's not bad. But it's not a very good sequel. Instead of advancing the story and seeing where things can go, it just retreads the first one. The Ghostbusters are impoverished laughing stocks, they discover a threat, no one believes them, they come together, they save New York, they're hailed as heroes. While others said it was a pure nostalgia trip, and many said they would always watch it because they enjoyed it as kids, they didn't gloss over the issues, "I love the movie, always did growing up...but yeah I agree with some of these other comments, the problem with it was that it didn't really add anything to the franchise and was just sort of a retread of the first movie."

Rotten Tomatoes' critical consensus notes, "Thanks to the cast, Ghostbusters 2 is reasonably amusing, but it lacks the charm, wit, and energy of its predecessor," holding a 56% Tomatometer rating.

"Confrontational people enjoy conflict and engage with others in a hostile, argumentative and aggressive manner," she notes. "They see every point of disagreement as an opportunity to argue and demonstrate their own perceived moral or intellectual superiority."

If you're on the opposite end of the adversarial spectrum, you may wonder: What's the best way to deal with a combative person? Great question, at least as far as Dr. Vinall is concerned.

"Engaging with confrontational people usually leads to conflict, not understanding," she shares. "To keep the peace, both socially and internally, it can be helpful to have some strategies to shut down needless conflict."

She especially loves to suggest one phrase that instantly shuts down a confrontational person—and it might surprise you. Ahead, she shares the phrase, why it works and when to use it. She also doles out some other tips for dealing with an antagonistic person.

Why Are Some People More Confrontational Than Others?

Dr. Vinall says that factors like emotional intelligence, personal preferences for conflict and childhood experiences can all shape how confrontational we are.

"People may be confrontational because they are more focused on being right or on matters of justice than on relationships and the impact of their style," she points out. "This is common in people with low emotional intelligence."

Conflict may give you hives, but others may consider it a hobby of sorts. Dr. Vinall says that confrontation can give people the chance to intimidate or dominate others in a quest for power.

"They may be accustomed to inhabiting a place of privilege in society and use a confrontational style to maintain dominance," she states.

The psychologist notes that people may also show intense dislike toward others and have traits of narcissism. Sometimes, people develop a confrontational style early in life, especially if they grow up in high-conflict homes, she shares.

"Where fighting was the learned norm, respectful and curious communication may have never been internalized," she says.

The 1 Surprising Phrase To Shut Down a Confrontational Person, According to a Psychologist

So, what's the best phrase to shut down an antagonistic person? It might surprise you, but Dr. Vinall recommends: "I see this differently."

"This phrase neither adds fuel to the fire nor backs away, but simply asserts your ground," she reveals. "It shows you are neither afraid nor do you need to prove anything."

Part of the reason the phrase, "I see this differently," can shut down a combative human is that it might throw them off and surprise them, especially if they're used to intimidating others into submission or baiting them into a fiery argument.

"This phrase leaves them unsure of how to categorize and respond to you," Dr. Vinall tells Parade. "Most people either shy away or fight back; this grounded, assertive, yet reserved response is surprising in its unusual assertive restraint."

She suggests using this phrase when a confrontational person says something that you don't want to leave unchallenged. You may not want to give the impression that your silence means that you agree with their statement.

"There are times when it is best to simply let the disagreement or misinformation pass, and there are times and people with whom to engage in serious conversation or debate," she explains. "When engaging with a confrontational person making bigoted claims, for example, 'I see this differently' lands in the sweet spot."

Quick disclaimer: Dr. Vinall says it's possible that this phrase will not instantly shut down the confrontational person. In fact, a highly confrontational person may dig in and demand a fight. In these situations, you'll again have to decide whether to engage or shut it down (ugh).

"At this point, you might ask directly, 'Are you genuinely curious about my stance, or do you just want to prove your point?'" she suggests. "Don't use this phrase for unimportant conflicts or to correct details if there's no real cost to simply letting it go."

5 Other Ways To Disarm Someone Who's Confrontational

These tactics can also do the trick.

1. Remain calm

"Keep calm and carry on" is not just a meme. Dr. Vinall says it's a valuable strategy to disarm combative people.

"Confrontational people feed off heightened energy—don't give it to them," she shares.

2. Validate their feelings without necessarily agreeing

This one may surprise you—why would you want to validate a confrontational person who seems to be enjoying getting a rise out of you? Admittedly, it requires some nuance and self-regulation.

"The key is to keep it neutral or kind, not biting, judgmental or sarcastic," Dr. Vinall says.

For instance, she says a confrontational person may complain about high crime rates from a minority group. You may not have the emotional capacity to engage in a conflict at this time, or you may know from experience that conversations on this topic with this person go nowhere but downhill—fast.

Dr. Vinall says that, in these cases, you might mirror back, "You seem really stressed about rising crime," or, "It seems like this feels scary to you."

3. Look for a collaborative response

Confrontational people may not strike you as "teamwork-to-make-the-dreamwork" types. Dr. Vinall concedes they like to complain and project blame, but it's possible to use that to your advantage to shut down the conflict. She suggests getting curious and asking a question that invites exploration rather than escalation, such as, "How can we work together to find a solution that is satisfying to us both?"

4. Set boundaries

"You do not have to and should not tolerate verbally abusive language," Dr. Vinall says.

Louder, for the people in the back; boundaries are important!

While we have you, Dr. Vinall suggests responding to this type of unacceptable language with, "I'm willing to hear your concerns, but I will not be talked down to like that. Do you want to rephrase that, or should we end this conversation?" or simply, "That's not going to work for me."

5. Reflect their words to them

Dr. Vinall reports that prompting a confrontational person to be more open and obvious in their negativity can make them squirm.

"You could play dumb, saying, 'I don't get it. Explain that to me,'" Dr. Vinall suggests.

Curiosity also works here. She suggests something simple, such as, "That's an interesting perspective. Why would you say that?"

In July 1974, Eric Clapton released one of the most highly acclaimed albums of his career, 461 Ocean Boulevard. The album was best known for a No. 1 hit cover of “I Shot the Sheriff” and a remake of “Willie and the Hand Jive,” but it also contained a hidden gem written by Clapton.

The song, “Let It Grow,”  was a slow-building track featuring reflective lyrics and the unique sound of a dobro guitar. It was never released as a single and never charted on Billboard, but it caught the attention of music critics and continues to get rave reviews decades later.

Classic Rock History described ”Let It Grow” as “stunning.” “Instrumentally, ‘Let It Grow’ takes advantage of a simplistic atmosphere dominated by acoustic guitars and a slide guitar. It’s a killer ballad and one of the finest Eric Clapton songs,” the outlet shared.

While “Let It Grow” received praise, some critics noted that the chord progression in the song was similar to Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven,” which had been released three years prior. Fans have also commented on the similarities.

Clapton ultimately acknowledged that he was subconsciously inspired by the Led Zeppelin masterpiece.

In his memoir Clapton: The Autobiography, Clapton recalled the writing sessions for 461 Ocean Boulevard and noted that he was “very proud” of his “inventiveness in the verse” for one song in particular.

“This was ‘Let it Grow,’ and it was several years before I realized I had totally ripped off ‘Stairway to Heaven,’ the famous Zeppelin anthem, a cruel justice seeing as how I’d always been such a severe critic of theirs,” the rock legend wrote.

Clapton’s issues with Led Zeppelin have been well documented. He once told Uncut magazine that Zeppelin continued what his friend band Cream had started before their split in the late 1960s.

“Led Zeppelin took up our legacy,” he said. “But then they took it somewhere else that I didn’t really have a great deal of admiration for.”

In Ritchie York’s book Led Zeppelin: The Definitive Biography, Clapton noted that while he liked some of Zeppelin’s music, he felt they were “really loud" and "over-emphasized whatever point they were making."

Clapton once explained that he was more impressed by musicians who were able to show their softer side. When asked about his knack for writing romantic ballads, he toldRolling Stonehe was inspired by a classic Chuck Berry album.

 “I think it’s a big challenge to write a love song that isn’t all soppy,” he said. "But there was an album I had very early on by Chuck Berry, One Dozen Berrys, and there were a couple of songs in there that were ballads, which almost knocked me out more than the rock & roll stuff. Because they seemed to represent him more, when his guard was down. I think it’s the same for a lot of musicians. When you see them relax and they pick up a guitar, the first thing that comes out is a really nice ballad, the softer side, because they’re so fed up with putting on this big façade.”

From the luminaries, the sun and the moon, to the benefics, which are expansive Jupiter and romanticVenus, and good, old information-savvy messenger planetMercury, the celestial bodies of our solar system are perpetually making their way through the zodiac, delivering awe-inspiring shifts, change, and new narratives. And for the first time since April 17, 2018, Chiron, the minor planet and comet, will occupy an entirely new sign. 

Discovered in 1977 by astronomer Charles T. Kowal, Chiron is named after a character in TheIliad, whom Homer calls the "wisest and justest of all the centaurs." After spending the last six-plus years in Aries, the cardinal fire sign known for being competitive, self-focused, direct, and action-oriented, the planetoid, which is referred to in astrology as “the wounded healer,” will enter Taurus, the fixed earth sign, on June 19, spending three months moving through the sensual, grounded, practical, and slow and steady sign of the Bull. In turn, we’ll be encouraged to acknowledge fears, bolster self-acceptance, and heal old wounds around Taurean themes: self-worth, values, material possessions, money, comfort, and indulgence. Chiron’s dip into Taurus will be brief in 2026, but next year, it’ll land there on April 14 and remain in the earth sign until 2033.

A beloved 1971 love song got an unexpected second chance at chart glory when a famous TV star recorded a remake that became a No. 1 smash, giving the classic ballad a remarkable new life atop the charts.

"If" by Bread remains one of the seminal love songs of the early part of the decade. The song describes the comforting nature of a relationship that has seen its ebbs and flows, and continues throughout time.

"If" was written and produced by David Gates. The song reached the top of the Billboard charts in April 1971 and remained at the top spot for five weeks.

The tune became a favorite wedding song and became the band's trademark tune. However, "If" also became an unlikely hit for another superstar performer, from the world of television and movies, topping the UK charts with a spoken word version.

Telly Savalas, best known for his portrayal of Lieutenant Theo Kojak, a tough, lollipop-sucking NYPD detective on the CBS series Kojak, took "If" to the top of the UK charts in February 1975. Already a well-known hit, the song found renewed success through Savalas' unconventional recording.

While Bread's version hailed from the place of a young man looking forward into the future, Savalas' version had the opposite effect. His spoken-word interpretation gave the lyrics a reflective quality, as though he were looking back on a lifetime of love and memories.

In 2012, Pop Dose called Savalas' version one of the World's Worst Songs. The unlikely distinction came despite the track’s strong commercial success overseas.

In the liner notes to his LP Telly, which contained "If" as well as spoken word covers of "A Song For You," "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling," "Something," and "You and Me Against the World," the beloved television star admitted that he wasn't a singer. Pop Dose reprinted his commentary: “People know that singing is not my bag . . . . I can only make mistakes by pretending to be a great singer.”

Both Bread and Telly Savalas’ versions of “If” are worth a listen. Each brings a completely different emotional tone to the same romantic lyrics, showing just how versatile the song can be.

For years, children sitting at an American breakfast table had a rule: You chose purple or you chose red.

But now, Welch's has introduced a four berry spread, a departure from its long-standing brand traditions. This new product began its rollout to major retailers this month, where it was first noticed by observant fans.

To a casual shopper, this looks like another jar on the shelf. But to people who track how pop culture eats, it marks the first time in over thirty years that the heritage brand has introduced a multi-fruit profile to its mainstream retail lineup.

Savvy diners might point out that Welch’s already makes a mixed fruit jelly. But that product is an apple-and-grape blend and is largely confined to plastic single-serve packets found only in roadside diners and hospital trays. The average person looking for a family-sized jar at the local supermarket has been limited to grape, strawberry, or the occasional raspberry.

Until now.

The four berry spread  bypasses the traditional grape-and-apple base. Instead, it opts for a fusion of strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries. For the first time in thirty years, retail shoppers are no longer restricted to the standard grape or strawberry options within the brand's primary grocery lineup.

The rollout coincides with a broader expansion of the brand's retail presence. Along with the four berry spread, shelves are seeing the arrival of new character-branded partnerships, including Bluey seedless strawberry fruit spread and Bluey grape fruit spread. While those licensed character releases focus on traditional single-fruit flavors, the multi-berry jar expands the company's broader catalog to compete directly with modern blended fruit spreads already on retail shelves.

Written by composer and songwriter Holland–Dozier–Holland, "You Keep Me Hangin' On" was originally recorded in 1966 by The Supremes. The song followed a similar "call and response" feel to the hit "You Can't Hurry Love," but lyrically instead it comes from the perspective of begging a former lover to stop "breadcrumbing" and definitively end the relationship.

"You Keep Me Hangin' On" was the first single from the album, The Supremes Sing Holland–Dozier–Holland. It became the group's eighth number one hit upon release, and spent two weeks atop the charts. Billboard called the song a "pulsating rocker with the trio in top form" with an "interesting, driving guitar figure throughout." The song went on to be one of the most covered in The Supremes' catalog, and in 1999 it was inducted into the Grammy's Hall of Fame.

Just one year later in 1967, American Rock Band Vanilla Fudge recorded and released a cover of the song, marking their first single. Their interpretation was much slower, darker, moodier, and pointed than the original, and it reached number six on the Billboard Hot 100.

The Vanilla Fudge version would go on to be used in the series finale of the hit show, The Sopranos, an episode of Mad Men, and the film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

20 years later in 1986, English singer Kim Wilde put her spin on the song. For her album, Another Step, Wilde completely reworked the track to make it a hi-NRG, uptempo disco song. In the UK, Wilde's cover reached number two on the chart, and it became her second and final top-40 song in the United States, reaching number one for one week in June of 1987.

In 1995, country music superstar Reba McEntire took her stab at the tune, recording a cover for her 22nd studio album, Starting Over. The track was met with mixed reviews and not released via country radio.
