Sheila E., who rose to stardom as a protégé of Prince in the ’80s, just shocked the world with her ageless looks.

The singer and musician, 68, often referred to as the “Queen of Percussion” thanks to her incredible drumming skills, rocked the world with her successful solo career. Her 1984 hit, “The Glamorous Life,” became a Billboard Top 10 hit and became her anthem that she still performs at every show. Still going strong, the star won her first Grammy in 2025. But as fans of her social media can see, Sheila E. can still rock out with the best of them, no matter her age.

In a new Instagram video, Sheila E. went pants-free as she danced and drummed in a plunging pajama top while "Come Over" by BTS played overhead.

"Letsss goooo!!! Manic Monday #life#love#live#music#sheilaedrummer we are coming to ur city!!!!" the star shared.

In the comments, fans were shocked by how great Sheila E. looks at 68.

"Sheila E going on seven zero, giving y’all pressure! 💥," one person said.

 "I hope you know you just turned on an entire generation of men. 😀," another person replied.

As fans of her social media can see, Sheila E. can still dress up and rock out with the best of them. In another recent video, the star sports a Batgirl costume as she walks down the hallway.

“Sometimes you just have to ! 💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽Happy Saturday,” Sheila E. captioned the video, which saw her sporting knee-high black boots, a sky-high bun, a latex Batgirl costume, and a black mask.

While she’s been a star for decades with endless hits under her belt, Sheila E. won her first Grammy in 2025 in the Best Global Music Performance category for “Bemba Colorá,” a collaboration with Gloria Estefan and Mimy Succar.

On June 15, 2026, Peacock released a joint statement with production studio iTV America, announcing that former Love Island USA Executive Producer James Barker had died. It was also revealed that the series would pay tribute to the late showrunner in the June 16, 2026, episode. This prompted fans to question, "Who was James Barker?" And what role did he play on Love Island?

James Barker was a former executive producer on Love Island and many other TV shows. According to his IMDb, Barker began his professional career in entertainment 15 years ago, starting as an office coordinator on Bravo's Fashion Hunters in 2011.

From there, he began working on American Restoration as a story production assistant before becoming the story producer for Pawn Stars.

His first foray into Executive Producing was the short-lived 2022 Prime Video reality series, Cosmic Love.

Barker’s career was filled with working on various hit television series, including the Netflix reboot of Queer Eye, Food Network's Chopped, Love after Lockup, and the Second Season of Claim to Fame.

In addition to his work in television, Barker loved music and performed as “DJ Chaotic.” He provided music, fun, and laughter to those who attended his shows, the most recent of which took place on May 1, just days before he left for Fiji to begin work on Love Island USA Season 8.

Barker joined the Love Island franchise in Season 2 in 2020 as a Post Story producer.

He truly fell in love with working on the franchise, as he repeatedly expressed on social media. One moment occurred during the broadcasting of a moment between popular Season 2 Islanders Cely Vazquez and Johnny Middlebrooks, when he wrote, “Working on a show I love... Love Island USA and getting to put in a song about love, all of the feelings by an artist that I love, Kiesza, is pretty... lovely."

In Season 3 of the franchise, he was promoted to Supervising Story Producer before becoming instrumental in Love Island USA’s move from CBS to Peacock with Season 4. According to Barker’s LinkedIn profile, he began managing a larger team of producers and editors at this point, working directly with Peacock to address notes and implement creatives while steering the Season's story.

Barker would remain with the series as co-Executive Producer for Season 5, then as Executive Producer for Seasons 6, 7, and 8.

In addition to his work on the mainline series, Barker also served as co-Executive Producer for Love Island Games Season 1 and Executive Producer for Season 2, as well as working as a Consulting Producer for Love Island: Beyond the Villa.

The date of James Barker’s death has not been explicitly announced. However, the Executive Producer was on social media as recently as June 11, 2026.

People report that Barker passed away last week, which would indicate that his death took place between June 11 and 13th.

The Executive Producer was last on Threads and was reflecting on the ongoing celebrations in NYC, writing, “I wish I was in NYC right now. Fiji is nice, but nothing beats the vibes I’m seeing in my hometown.”

Specific details surrounding Barker's death have not been released, only that it related to an “unexpected medical emergency.”

Barker’s partner, Adam Roth, told People, “James was the absolute light and love of my life. He brought joy and brilliance to everything he touched.” Roth went on to explain how much music meant to Barker and how happy he was to champion new talent with his work on Love Island.

Roth added, “I am so proud of the work he did and that he was surrounded by such an amazing team. His loss is unimaginable.”

As the dedication message to James Barker has not yet been posted, we will have to wait and see how the alumni and fan community responds. However, since the news came out on June 15, those who knew Barker have responded on social media.

One former co-worker wrote on Barker's Instagram, “I am shocked. And sad. You were a good one. My heart is with your family, friends, and coworkers. I really wanted to work with you again one day. 🕊️”

Scott the Pisces, a British Pop Producer, Songwriter & Artist whose music Barker had utilized on Love Island USA, added, “We literally just spoke on WhatsApp. I can’t believe you’re gone. My heart is broken. You were so kind and thoughtful; you made me feel validated as an artist. I never expected to see a headline like this. Thank you for everything you ever did for me 🩵.”

Francis Rossi isn't finished touring just yet.

The legendary Status Quo frontman has announced a second leg of his ongoing Songbook: Quo – Past, Present, Future tour, adding 31 new U.K. dates that extend the tour into 2027.

Rossi shared the news with his trademark sense of humor on Instagram.

"Like most people, I put my trousers on one leg at a time. It's also how we book the tours," he wrote. "We’ve added a second leg to the Past, Present and Future tour." He added that the new run “will start in March 2027 with 31 dates running through May,” with tickets going on sale June 19 and fan pre-sales opening a day earlier.

The extension comes in response to strong demand for Rossi's unique one-man show, which offers fans a different perspective on the music that made Status Quo one of Britain's most successful rock bands.

Unlike a traditional concert, Songbook: Quo – Past, Present, Future blends live performances with storytelling, as Rossi revisits the songs that defined his career while sharing memories and behind-the-scenes anecdotes from more than six decades in music. The shows feature a hand-picked selection of classic Status Quo favorites, deeper album cuts and even a newly assembled medley, making each evening a personal journey through his catalog.

"I am delighted to extend this run on from the thirty dates already announced for later this year," Rossi told Blabbermouth. "The pressure is on once more, as I have put together a really packed new show. I have really enjoyed taking the current show into Europe but can't wait to get back out on the road in the U.K. again with this one. I'll be keeping a whole lot of the hits in the set, of course, but also mixing it up with a couple of curveballs. These theatre shows are a great way to really connect with the audience, and try something a little bit different."

Rossi will once again be joined onstage by guitarist Andy Brook, who co-produced Rossi's recent solo album, The Accidental, and previously accompanied him on his sold-out 2025 Songbook tour.

As the founder, lead singer and only continuous member of Status Quo, Rossi has been at the heart of the band since its formation in the 1960s. During the 1970s and '80s, the group became one of Britain's defining boogie rock acts with enduring hits including "Caroline," "Paper Plane," "Whatever You Want," "Rockin' All Over the World" and "Down Down," the band's only U.K. No. 1 single.

While Rossi continues to perform Status Quo's music, his recent solo projects have allowed him to revisit his catalog in a more intimate setting. The Songbook shows give fans a rare opportunity to hear familiar classics alongside lesser-known favorites, all accompanied by Rossi's firsthand stories about writing, recording and performing them.

With another 31 dates now on the schedule, it appears audiences aren't ready to say goodbye to one of rock's most beloved storytellers or the songs that have defined his remarkable career.

The Grammy Awards have updated the rules and added a few new categories ahead of the next show, set for Feb. 7, 2027.

New categories will include Best Asian Pop Music Performance, Best R&B Collaboration or Duo/Group Performance, Best Traditional Pop Vocal Performance, Best Traditional Folk Album, and Best Latin Song.

"2027 is going to be an amazing year for the Grammy Awards, and one that reflects the extraordinary growth we're seeing across music," Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. said in a statement, per Rolling Stone. "The changes advanced by our Academy members speak to the breadth of today's music industry and the many genres, crafts, and creators shaping it. We’re excited to see these updates come to life in the year ahead as we celebrate the music people who are driving music forward.”

But that's not all. They also made some rule changes, which affect the criteria and eligibility for the Best New Artist, Best Album Notes, and Best Historical Album categories. For that, potential nominees can submit for a category a total of four times instead of three, while the “threshold of new recordings required on an eligible album is lowered from 75% to 66% to reduce the exclusion of entries that are widely recognized throughout the music industry as new albums.”

“We’ve heard from the music community that the way artists are being developed is changing, and the time it’s taking to find success or recognition can take longer than it once did," Mason recently said during a Q & A session posted on the official website. "Artists are often releasing more music before they actually break through the consciousness of consumers or of our voters, and that evolution directly impacts this Category.”

"It all starts with songwriters; none of the awards really can happen without songwriters," he added. "It’s really important they feel acknowledged and celebrated in the same way producers and engineers do.”

Milo Ventimiglia's early career setback didn't keep him from becoming a Hollywood star!

The 48-year-old actor has become a household name thanks to roles on Gilmore Girls, Heroes, and This Is Us, but in his younger years, he was fired from an unaired '90s sitcom also starring Scott Baio and Sherri Shepherd.

Shepherd, 59, shared the story of her brief time working with Ventimiglia on Fox's Rewind in an Instagram post on Wednesday, June 10, revealing that she knew he was going to be "big," despite him being let go from the production.

"He was originally at the table read, but then they let him go," Shepherd recalled. "I remember he was devastated, and I said to him, 'You are gonna be big.' Now, I didn't know he was going to be that big."

Ventimiglia, who as of 1997 had already appeared in episodes of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Saved by the Bell: The New Class, was cast on Rewind as a younger version of Baio's ad executive character, appearing in his regular "rewinds" back to the '70s.

The sitcom ended up being canceled just two weeks before it was set to air, said Shepherd, who played the secretary of Baio's character, despite the cast taping six full episodes.

Three decades later, the comedian and actress reunited with Ventimiglia in February on her talk show Sherri, where they looked back on their short time as co-stars.

"I was bummed. I was 18 at the time, it was my first job at Warner Brothers," Ventimiglia said of his experience on the show. "'What do I do now? Do I go back to school? Do I go back to waiting tables? … I remember you told me, 'Hey, don't worry about you. You're going to do great. You're going to have a nice career.'"

"I saw in you a star," she assured him. "I was so incredibly proud every time I would see you book something."

"And so I didn't know what else to do besides just like give little jabs here and there, and I love even still now like you still crack up at me, and I'm just like good, he understands I'm joking like it's not really that crazy." 

Carl agreed that they have history—their friendship goes back about a decade— and undeniable chemistry. "I enjoy when you're firing at all cylinders," he said to Lindsay. "And even last summer, there was moments where I was laughing at the same things you were. And it brought a lot of joy to me, just because I'm like, that's where I want to get back to. It's like this friendliness and just light and easy."

That's when Lindsay replied, "We're so back. Everyone heard? We're so back!"  

Fans can't get enough of the return of Carlito and Mother Hubbard back in the friendzone once again in the best way possible. "Lindsay and Carl kind of became more what the other wanted after the breakup. Carl got some drive and initiative, and motherhood softened Lindsay. I don’t know if they could ever work out romantically, but I’m so happy to see them grow back their friendship," one person posted on Threads.

Another commenter joked, "We’re going to bully Carl and Lindsay into getting back together??? Love the friendship. That’s it!" Carl and Lindsay appear to be on board as Carl posted a photo alongside Lindsay and captioned it, "Nature is healing," and Lindsay shared it to her Instagram Story.

Carl and Lindsay also acknowledged how the Amanda Batula and West Wilson scandal may have been what brought them back to friendship. "I also think that this scandal within our cast without having like a full conversation between you, me, and Kyle, we almost instinctively banded together to like protect our house," she noted, adding, "You know like no one, no one's gonna burn our house down except for us."

Lin-Manuel Miranda created a brand new song for the upcoming live-action Moana movie. A music video for the song has just dropped, which contains both Moanas. Auli'i Cravalho, who played the character in the original film, is joined by the live-action Moana, Catherine Laga'aia, and Dwayne Johnson, who plays Maui in both films.

Miranda released a statement about the new song in a press release, saying, “It was such a joy to drop back into the world of Moana again and write ‘Along The Way.’ Auliʻi and Catherine’s voices blend so beautifully, and writing for Dwayne as Maui is just pure fun. I’m grateful that we were able to create something special for this brand-new version of our wayfinder’s story.”

When Miranda originally released music for the 2016 film, he spoke about the song he loved the most in an interview. “I’m really proud of ‘How Far I’ll Go,’” he said. “I literally locked myself up in my childhood bedroom at my parents’ house to write those lyrics. I wanted to get to my angstiest possible place. I went method on that because it’s a challenging song. It’s not, ‘I hate it here, I want to be out there.’ It’s not, ‘there must be more than this provincial life.’ She loves her island, she loves her parents, she loves her people. And there’s still this voice inside. It was finding that notion of listening to that little voice inside you and being who you are.”

Miranda also gushed about how nice it was being part of the Disney family, saying, “It’s amazing… You sit at a table, a lot like this, except it’s perfectly round, and the notes are not from execs, the notes are from Jen Lee, the co-director of Frozen, from Pete Docter, who’s working on Inside Out, and did Big Hero 6. Like everyone who actually makes the thing are the ones who are kicking the tires on your story, and making it better. And that was my favorite part of the process.”

The soundtrack for the new Moana movie releases on June 26. However, there’s also another upcoming album to keep an eye out for, which is releasing on July 31. It is called Moana: Voices Across The Ocean. This Moana-inspired album features 14 original songs and a cover song from Pacific artists representing seven islands and cultures.

The live-action reimagining of Moana is coming to theaters July 10 and will be available on Disney+ a few months later.

“Smells Like Teen Spirit,” the song that gave Nirvana mainstream success more than 30 years ago, is back on the charts. The 1991 grunge rock classic re-emerged on Billboard’s Rock Streaming Songs chart for the week of June 20, marking its 138th week overall on the chart.

Written by Kurt Cobain, Dave Grohl, and Krist Novoselic, “Smells Like Teen Spirit” was the lead single from Nirvana’s October 1991 album Nevermind. The song featured a heavy, distorted four-chord guitar riff and an explosive chorus that featured nonsensical lyrics inspired by a popular deodorant brand Cobain wasn’t even aware of.

Fueled by a heavy rotation MTV music video, the song peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 when it was released over 35 years ago, making it the Washington-based band’s bestselling song of all time.

“Smells Like Teen Spirit” became an anthem for Generation X. Rolling Stone ranked it the number one “best song of the Nineties,” describing it as “the song that blew up the world.”

 "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was Kurt Cobain's challenge to the audience – and after all these years, the challenge still stands,” the music outlet shared in 2019.

In a September 1991 interview with The Seattle Times just ahead of “Smells Like Teen Spirit’s” release, Cobain, who was 24 at the time, said the song was “basically just about friends.”

“We still feel as if we are teenagers because we don’t follow the guidelines of what’s expected of us to be adults,” he explained. “We still screw around and have a good time. It also has a kind of like a teen revolutionary feel to it, too.”

At the time, Cobain was asked if he thought “Smells Like Teen Spirit” had the potential to be a hit single. “That’s not gonna happen,” the Nirvana frontman said.

Cobain died in 1994 at age 27.

Ted Lassostar Cristo Fernández, who plays fan-favorite character Dani Rojas on the beloved Apple TV show, has had an incredible career trajectory, going from playing a professional fútbol/soccer player on TV to becoming one in real life with El Paso Locomotive FC.

Speaking exclusively with Parade, Fernández shared newfound insight into that incredible transition, some exciting current projects he has in the works and what's next for Ted Lasso in season 4.

Although fans might know him best from Ted Lasso, Fernández's connection to soccer goes back much further than that. Fernández has loved the sport throughout his life, but an injury had previously made going pro seem out of reach. However, fate had something unexpected on the cards.

About his career, Fernández explained, "It's crazy how sometimes life works, and for me, my life I guess is a reminder that everything happens for a reason...The fact that it later gave me the opportunities and something completely new like film and acting, because it's fútbol/soccer that later opened the doors."

"The worst thing ended up being the best thing for me many years later," Fernández went on. "I believe that success is when preparation meets opportunity, and for me, it's always been that when one door opens, I don't just let that opportunity be. I try to get the most out of that opportunity and embrace it."

"This whole fútbol/soccer journey, it's been crazy, but I also hope it inspires people in general that it's never too late...I just want people to dare to dream," he said.

The actor and athlete also addressed the upcoming season of Ted Lasso, season 4, which is confirmed to be switching to a focus on women's soccer.

In addition to confirming that Ted Lasso has informed his own perspective "truly one hundred percent" and explaining that the show is about so much more than just soccer, Fernández shared, "I know it's different, and it's a women's team. There's something in this new season that you will find out that I am also forever grateful for. It's so personal and means the world to me. And, aside from that, this new season is a reminder to me that, regardless of both the successes and the failures in life, when you embrace both, again, you never know why certain things happen, but everything happens for a reason."

He added, "My injuries became the best thing that happened to me, and that's after many years of just working hard. This new season is a reminder just to focus on the things I can control."

Fernández is also working with Tequila Cazadores on their second partnership, celebrating traditions, community and, of course, fútbol.

"What surrounds this drink to me is those specific times or moments in life where you want to celebrate with your friends and family. To me, things get more special with tequila," Fernández said.

He added, "This campaign is about that; it's about that experience...I thought it was a fun campaign, and Tequila Cazadores has been a big supporter of my projects and my dreams, and we've created a good relationship."

Fernández will also be surprising fans "with good vibes and Tequila Cazadores" in person, but he could not share too much about that yet.

Quince’s 34-ounce French press has a sleek, modern style with a beautifully polished exterior and slightly angled handle that provides a good grip. It’s crafted entirely from durable stainless steel—no harmful chemicals here—and boasts a vacuum-insulated, double-walled construction that keeps coffee hot for hours.

The French press’s lid features a plunger with a four-layered filtration system that traps coffee grounds and minimizes sediment. All of the parts are dishwasher-safe for easy cleaning and should be completely dried before storing to keep odors and residue at bay.

Preparing coffee in the French press is a no-brainer: Scoop eight or nine tablespoons of coarsely ground coffee into the carafe, pour boiling water up to the top of the handle, then give the grounds a quick stir to let them bloom and release their flavors (I use the base of a wooden spoon). Place the lid on top, let the coffee steep for four minutes, then slowly push the plunger down until it meets the base of the carafe. Now, your piping-hot coffee is ready to serve.

After using the Quince Stainless Steel French Press daily for a little over a month, I can honestly say that it’s an impressive coffee maker that provides a lot of bang for your buck. It’s simple to use, with a plunger that moves slowly and gently, so there’s no splashing as you push grounds to the base of the carafe.

Every cup I’ve brewed is deliciously intense, with a rich mouthfeel and no bitterness or acidity. I have noticed some sediment in my cup, but a little bit of grit is expected with any French press. The sturdy carafe keeps coffee very hot for at least two hours, though it’s best to drink it sooner to prevent over-extraction. 

While I appreciate that Quince’s French press can be cleaned in the dishwasher, I find that hand washing it is just as easy and much faster. I just dump the spent grounds into my composting bin, rinse the filter thoroughly to remove any leftover grit, then wash all of the parts with mild dish soap and warm water. Once the components air-dry, I wipe them down with a dry cloth to remove any excess water and store the French press on my counter.

The Quince Stainless Steel French Press isn’t perfect, however. The brand claims that the carafe stays cool to the touch while coffee is inside it, but I found that the exterior actually gets a little hot. Only the handle stays cool, which at least keeps my hand comfortable when pouring or moving the carafe. Unlike a lot of French presses, this one doesn’t come with an agitation stick for stirring grounds. I also wish that Quince offered a smaller, 17-ounce-sized press, since I live alone and really only need to brew two cups, max. But that’s just me being nitpicky.

Still, the perks of the Quince Stainless Steel French Press far outweigh these minor quibbles. It’s a superb choice for anyone who loves a bold, nuanced cup of coffee, and, of course, a bargain. I recommend adding it to your kitchen or gifting it to your favorite coffee lover—if you can get it before it sells out again.

William Smithers, who is best known for his role on the popular CBS soap Dallas, died on May 26 at the age of 98, the Santa Barbara Independent reports.

He appeared in 50 episodes during the show's run, spanning from 1981 to 1989. But that wasn't all, as he appeared in numerous other projects, including television, film, and theater.

Before landing the role in Dallas, he played Peyton Mill owner David Schuster on ABC’s Peyton Place from 1965-66. Smithers also played Capt. R.M. Merik, a Federation officer now presiding over Roman gladiators, during the original 1969 Star Trek episode “Bread and Circuses.” Other TV appearances included Mission: Impossible, The Invaders, Hawaii Five-O, Barnaby Jones, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, and more.

Switching to film, he played an infantry officer in Robert Aldrich’s Attack (1956), followed by portraying a police captain in Ivan Dixon’s Trouble Man (1972), and then a spy in Michael Winner’s Scorpio (1973). In 1973's Papillon, he played Warden Barrot.

As for theater, he made his Broadway debut in a 1951 production of Romeo and Juliet. He then went on to appear in Legend of Lovers with Richard Burton, End as a Man with Ben Gazzara, The Square Root of Wonderful with Anne Baxter, and The Shadow of a Gunman with Bruce Dern.

Another notable moment in his career was when Smithers sued MGM while starring in the CBS drama Executive Suite, claiming that they had violated his contract regarding his pay, adding that an MGM exec had threatened to blacklist him if he followed through. A jury ultimately ruled in his favor.

Fans paid tribute to the actor following the news.

"His passing is part of a broader generational shift as many actors from Hollywood’s earlier television and film eras reach advanced age, marking the gradual loss of that cohort of performers," one person commented.

"Sorry to hear that. RIP played Jeremy Wendell so well, and gave JR something to be concerned about," another person wrote.

More than 45 years after it first topped the charts, Queen and David Bowie's classic duet "Under Pressure" is proving it still has plenty of life left in it.

The 1981 hit has returned to Billboard's Top Rock Streaming Songs chart, a remarkable achievement for a song released during the early days of MTV and long before streaming platforms existed. The renewed chart success shows that one of rock music's most celebrated collaborations continues to connect with listeners across generations.

Released in October 1981, "Under Pressure" became Queen's second No. 1 single in the United Kingdom and David Bowie's third. The song eventually became one of the defining tracks in both artists' catalogs, earning recognition as one of the greatest collaborations in rock history. It was later ranked among Rolling Stone's500 Greatest Songs of All Time and was voted the second-best musical collaboration ever in a Rolling Stone reader poll.

"This epic anthem of resistance against the forces of everyday exhaustion evolved out of an impromptu jam, with Bowie scatting his vocals on the fly," wrotes Rolling Stone, adding that Queen guitarist Brian Maytold them, "Everybody just goes in there with no ideas, no notes, and sings the first thing that comes into their head over the backing track. Then we compiled all the bits and pieces.”

Part of the song's enduring appeal comes from its unlikely creation story. Bowie later recalled that Queen had already developed the famous musical foundation when he joined the group in the studio. According to Bowie, the musicians assembled the song's structure together before he and Freddie Mercury created their individual vocal melodies and worked jointly on the lyrics.

"I still cannot believe that we had the whole thing written and recorded in one evening flat," Bowie said in a 2004 Q&A on his website. "Quite a feat for what is actually a fairly complicated song."

The track emerged from a recording session at Mountain Studios in Montreux, Switzerland, where Bowie happened to be spending time while Queen worked on what would become the band's 1982 album Hot Space. What began as an impromptu collaboration evolved into one of rock's most beloved recordings.

Over the decades, "Under Pressure" has taken on a life of its own. The song's instantly recognizable bass line became the subject of a famous legal dispute after it was sampled in Vanilla Ice's 1990 hit "Ice Ice Baby." It has also been covered by artists including My Chemical Romance, the Used, and Shawn Mendes, further introducing the song to younger audiences.

The song's message has proven remarkably timeless as well. Critics have frequently praised the emotional chemistry between Mercury and Bowie, with many considering it among the finest vocal performances either artist ever recorded. More than four decades after its release, the song's return to the streaming charts suggests listeners continue to discover, revisit, and celebrate a collaboration that remains unmatched in rock music.

Startled at my voice, he picked his head up out of his hands. His confused gaze found me, and he jerked to his feet. “You,” he echoed, almost as surprised as I was. His voice was broken and hoarse, as if he’d either been using it a lot or hadn’t at all. “Thank god, it’s you.”

Well, that was certainly different from yesterday. “Um, hi—”

“I’ve been shouting for at least half an hour!” he cried, waving his arms about. “Couldn’t you hear me?”

I blinked, startled at the sudden accusation. “No?”

Annoyance pinched his face, making the cobalt of his eyes go the color of a storm off the coast. He pressed his mouth into a thin line. “You’re not funny.”

“I’m not joking”—sir sounded too proper—“buddy.” I resisted the urge to wince. That was even worse.

His annoyance turned very nearly atomic as he stalked over to me. I had forgotten how terribly tall he was. “You locked me in here. You left and then ignored me screaming! Not only an unprofessional gardener, you’re a terrible employee—especially here. And Eula wants you to stay?”

I held up a hand. “I’m sorry, but you are being very rude right now. Stop shouting at me.”

“I’m—” He snapped his mouth closed, as if he’d just realized that he had been loud. He stopped a little more than a foot away from me. He carded his fingers through his hair, as if it released stress. “I’m sorry,” he said after a moment, his voice a normal volume.

“And the door’s not locked,” I added, crossing my arms over my chest. “You can’t lock any of the gardens here.”

“Well, apparently you can.”

“I assure you I can’t. Look, it’s open now. You can go.” I waved back at the door, and confusion flickered across his face.

“No,” he muttered, “it’s not.”

What? I glanced behind me, and sure enough the door was closed. I didn’t remember closing it when I came in, but maybe the wind had blown it shut. “Oh. Sorry, I thought I’d left it open—but it definitely can’t lock, and I promise I didn’t lock the door. I haven’t seen you since yesterday, anyway, so I don’t know how I could’ve.”

His eyebrows furrowed. “Yesterday? You just left an hour ago. Well, maybe not an hour, it’s still daylight, but you did just leave. I saw you.”

“No, I left yesterday,” I replied slowly. “When I heard the sirens?”

“Yes, today,” he corrected, his voice growing tight. He pushed his fingers through his hair again, as if it was a nervous tic.

I hesitated. Oh, he was much more confused than I thought. I needed to handle this a little more carefully. “Do you need help?” I asked gently. “Are you lost?”

“Lost?” An anger flickered through his gaze. “It’s okay—”

“This is getting us nowhere.” He scrubbed at his face with his hands and took a deep breath. Then he said, “Look, it doesn’t matter. I have things to do. A party to excuse myself from. People to disappoint. I need to leave—at least to somewhere with cell service.”

“Well,” I said, wrestling down my own annoyance at his dismissive tone, “then I can escort you out.”

“I don’t need an escort, thank you. I just need it open,” he snapped in reply, folding his arms over his chest. “And like I said, it was locked. Now you say it isn’t. So I think I will be going.” He returned to the bench, where he snatched up his suit jacket and shoved his arms into it. The suit looked expensive now that he had all of it on together, perfectly tailored. I wondered what kind of important he was. As he came back, he gave me a once-over, frowning. “Weren’t you wearing a dress earlier?”

“No,” I replied, perplexed. I didn’t even pack a dress to Lilymoor. He must have confused me with someone else. Juliette, maybe? Even though we looked nothing alike. I wasn’t sure if I was flattered that he mistook me for her or annoyed that he didn’t seem aware enough to care that we were two different people.

A rumble of thunder rolled over the garden. I looked past him, toward an incoming bruise-colored cloud. Had the weatherman said it’d rain today? I couldn’t remember.

He went over to the door, grabbed the handle, and gave a push. It was wedged closed. He tried again to no avail. Then he inhaled through his nose and turned to me. “Unlocked, you say?”

I rolled my eyes. “Good grief,” I mumbled, and as I marched toward the door, I grabbed him tightly by the lapel of his suit jacket, and the door handle with the other hand, and pulled.

He stumbled on his feet, off-kilter as I dragged him with me. “Hold on—”

The hinges were a bit rusted, making it hard to move, but other than that I opened it with no problem.

“See?” I said as I stepped through, his jacket sliding out of my hand. “It’s unlocked.” I turned back around to him, triumphant, and froze. Because where there should have been a door and a man, there was only a heather-gray wall.

McDonald's is making sure that when you hit the road this summer, you do so with a Fried Apple Pie in hand.

Parade previously reported on the speculated return of the fan-favorite menu item, which the burger franchise has now officially confirmed to us.

"The OG Fried Apple Pie is back at participating restaurants nationwide for a limited time," the press release shared with Parade revealed.

Available on the menu all day long, the dessert, which is timed to celebrate America's 250th birthday, is fittingly filled with 100% American-grown apples, "wrapped in the same golden crunch and flaky fried crust frans remember."

The Fried Apple Pie, which first debuted in 1968, stayed on the menu for 24 years before being replaced in 1992 by a baked apple pie.

However, it's an American classic for a reason, with roots going back to a family recipe book before it won over hearts across the nation.

The family recipe was crafted by East Tennessee Owner/Operator Litton Cochran, which became a local fan favorite before becoming a McDonald's menu classic.

"There are certain things that just take you back – and the Fried Apple Pie is one of them. It’s something that people love and remember from growing up.” said EricCochran, McDonald’s Owner/Operator.

“When Ray Kroc was trying to come up with a dessert for McDonald’s, my Grandad, Litton Cochran, suggested a Fried Apple Pie as a classic that people would love. My Grandmom, Jo Cochran, spent months perfecting the recipe. Bringing the Fried Apple Pie back for fans this summer to celebrate America’s 250th just feels right."

Alongside the nostalgic menu item, Cochran will help unveil a Route 66 roadside mile marker honoring its return.

A 35-foot Fried Apple Pie monument will be located right off America's most iconic road, marking the perfect pit stop during your summer road trips (aside from McD's, of course) to snap a photo and pick up a souvenir map.

The 35-foot Fried Apple Pie monument will be located just outside Chicago, in McDonald’s own backyard at 920 N Broadway St., Joliet, IL 60435.

Squeeze the stop into your summer plans, as the largest fried apple pie will be standing tall from June 23 through July 4.

Bruce Willis' wife is clearing up a "very common misconception" about the Die Hard star's dementia diagnosis.

After Bruce, 71, was diagnosed with aphasia in 2022 and frontotemporal dementia in 2023, Emma Heming Willis clarified the implications of her husband's diagnoses on The Bosstickspodcast.

"When people say, 'Oh, you know, does he remember who you are?' Well, he does because he doesn't have Alzheimer's; he has FTD," Emma, 47, explained on the podcast's Monday, June 15, episode. "I think that's a very common misconception that, when you think of dementia, we think of memory loss."

Emma continued that frontotemporal dementia, which the Mayo Clinic notes causes deterioration in behavior, personality and language, is "different" than Alzheimer's disease, which leads to memory loss. While Alzheimer's is the most common form of dementia, frontotemporal dementia is the most common form of dementia diagnosed in people under the age of 60.

"I think what you experience with any form of dementia is it just takes," Emma, who married The Sixth Sense actor in 2009, continued of becoming his caretaker. "You know, these diseases, they take, and they take, and they take—sometimes very slowly—and you are grieving different losses all the time. So you are consistently in grief."

Emma shares daughters Mabel, 14, and Evelyn, 12, with Bruce, who is also father to daughters Rumer, 37, Scout, 34, and Tallulah, 32, with ex-wife Demi Moore.

When the Pulp Fiction star was first diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, his family decided not to make his health "some dark family secret."

"I think that our family knew that by showing what we were going through with Bruce and this disease, we would see a change in how people look at dementia [and] talk about it," Emma told Spanish newspaper El País in a Sunday, June 14, interview. "…I wanted our two young children not to have to think that they have to talk about their dad's disease in a hushed home like this was some dark family secret."
