4 Birth Months That Naturally Attract Luck

Tue, 04/21/2026 - 8:14am

Luck may seem random, but our astrological makeup can play an important role at times. People born in specific months often exhibit a unique sense of luck, connecting with archetypal themes and cosmic personality traits associated with passive magnetism, opportunity, and likability. They may not experience the kind of extravagant luck that leads to a lottery win, but rather a more subtle auspiciousness that manifests in small, frequent wins and ease. Ultimately, no one is entirely "lucky" or "unlucky." However, some individuals seem to be more aligned with natural expansiveness than others. Read on to discover which four birth months are most likely to naturally attract luck, according to astrologers.

Mug Root Beer Teams up With NFL Star for ‘Absurd’ New Collab

Tue, 04/21/2026 - 8:13am

Mug Root Beer is ready to help fans get those gains this summer.

In an "absurd" twist on the poppin' "dirty soda" and "proteinmaxxing" trends, the PepsiCo soft drink brand (which is consistently rated among the best) has tapped San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle to be the face of its new creation: Mug Brotein.

"As a professional athlete, protein tracking comes with the territory, but I’m also a longtime MUG Root Beer fan who will never give up my float. MUG Brotein is the best of both worlds," Kittle teased in a statement. "The most absurd thing about it is that I didn’t do it sooner."

This isn't some promotional stint, either. Mug Brotein is a real recipe and it's heading out just in time for peak GTL season—but probably not in the way that you'd expect.

MUG Root Beer Teams Up With George Kittle for New Protein Beverage

"MUG has always been for the fans who have that dawg in them," Michael Smith, vice president of marketing at MUG Root Beer, explained. "Teaming up with George Kittle to drop MUG Brotein lets us unleash that big dawg energy in fit season—creating a gainz hack that’s as fun as it is delicious."

Related: MUG Root Beer Fans Are Beyond ‘Stoked’ About Its New Soda Flavor

Instead of launching a Mug Root Beer-flavored protein beverage, the soda company is using its already beloved Mug Zero Sugar as the base of the recipe. Consumers are instructed to pour the soda into a shaker bottle (or larger cup) before mixing in a serving of vanilla protein beverage. After some steady mixing, voila! Mug Brotein.

MUG Root Beer

And if you asked MUG's mascot, Dog, he would say, "Dis one is for all da dawgz that werk hard fur da gainz. Lift heavy. Sip MUG Brotein. Get sumthin to flex abut."

Where Will MUG Brotein Be Available?

The new recipe is launching as part of a special, limited-edition bundle available exclusively on Walmart.com beginning today (Tuesday, April 21) for $24.99, with a second drop heading to the official MUG Root Beer TikTok Shop next Tuesday (April 28), but only while supplies last.

The "dirty protein" remix bundles include a branded gym bag, muscle tee, a gym towel, sweatbands, a shaker bottle for all the MUG Brotein you could make, a can of Zero Sugar MUG Root Beer, and a vanilla-flavored protein shake (which packs 40grams of protein, 1 gram of sugar, and 6 grams of fiber).

MUG Root Beer

If the bundles have sold out by the time you're reading this, fear not. Everything you need to make MUG Brotein can be found at retailers like Albertsons and Kroger, where displays for MUG Zero Sugar and vanilla protein shakes will be set up in stores. Fans can also shop the ingredients online via Walmart and Instacart (prices may vary).

What do you think? Is this the next evolution of dirty sodas and protein shakes, genius or just wild? Let us know in the comments!

Virgin Voyages Just Handed the Keys to Its Flagship to 1,000 Content Creators

Tue, 04/21/2026 - 8:10am

If your social media feed is suddenly filled with sunset yoga, Michelin-level dining and neon-lit dance parties at sea, there’s a reason for it. Virgin Voyages has officially teamed up with TikTok to launch the largest creator activation in the brand’s history, turning the Scarlet Ladyinto a floating content studio for more than 1,000 influencers.

Setting sail from Miami to Bimini, the "Creator Voyage" isn't just a standard cruise; it’s a full-ship takeover. Virgin has long been the "cool kid" of the cruise world with its strictly adult-only policy and superyacht-inspired design, but this partnership marks a defining moment where the brand is leaning entirely into the creator economy.

"Creators are the media now," says Nathan Rosenberg, CMO of Virgin Voyages. And he’s right. Instead of traditional ads, the brand is betting on 1,000 different perspectives to show off the "Float On" beach celebrations and behind-the-scenes access at The Manor.

For travelers watching from home, the message is clear: Virgin is repositioning the cruise experience as something designed to be lived—and shared—in real time.

The voyage also marks the Scarlet Lady’s return to her popular short four- and five-night Caribbean itineraries, making these high-energy escapes more accessible for those who want the "influencer" experience without the month-long commitment.

Whether you’re a TikTok devotee or just a traveler looking for a kid-free escape that feels more like a boutique hotel than a traditional ship, the era of the "content cruise" has officially arrived.

Michael Jackson Biopic 'Michael' (2026) Has Shocking Credits Reveal

Tue, 04/21/2026 - 8:01am

SPOILER—This post includes spoilers from Michael (2026).

The brand-new Michael Jackson biopic Michaelis hitting theaters April 24, 2026, but early screenings of the new flick just revealed a completely unexpected announcement.

Before the credits begin to roll, the screen goes black and then, in an MCU post credits scene-style reveal, confirms, "His story will continue." Although that was not an outright declaration of a sequel movie, the implications that a follow-up to Michael is coming are clear.

Although a sequel was completely unexpected, particularly because the biopic genre isn't exactly known for its sequel stories, the news does make sense in the context of the movie. Michael goes all the way back to Michael Jackson's early years, before he became the famous superstar, and it then spans multiple decades, through to the Jackson 5's final tour together, the 1984 Victory Tour.

The movie concludes just after that tour ends, with Jackson declaring on stage that this will be the brothers' final tour together. With that announcement, which the movie frames as a complete surprise to his father, Joseph Jackson, Michael Jackson is entering a brand-new phase of his life that represents a newfound independence in his personal life as well as in his music career.

There is therefore much that Michael didn't touch on, from some of Jackson's most well-known songs of all time to his three children. It's unclear how far into the future this apparent sequel movie will go, although it would make sense for the follow-up story to span decades of his life, just as Michael did.

This reveal is also great news for fans of Michael Jackson, as Michael was a visually stunning, well-crafted depiction of the King of Pop's life. A huge factor in the success of the movie is the fact that Jackson's real life nephew, Jaafar Jackson, is playing the star, and he perfectly captures the essence of his uncle, down to his iconic moonwalk. No additional information on the upcoming movie has been confirmed, but the message at the end was clear: This story is not over.

Chewy’s $80 Ocean-Themed Cat Tree Is an 'Adorable' Summer Upgrade for Pet Parents

Tue, 04/21/2026 - 8:00am

Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

If your cat spends most of the day prowling around the house looking for something to climb, scratch, or dramatically nap on, it might be time for a little upgrade. A good cat tree can turn an ordinary living room into a feline playground, giving curious kitties a place to climb, perch, stretch, and survey their kingdom (aka your whole place). But it’s not just fun for them — it can help redirect energy and scratching away from furniture, giving everyone in the house a little peace of mind.

Right now, Chewy is offering a seriously "adorable" option that’s making waves among pet owners. The Yaheetech Ocean-Themed Multi-Level Cat Tree is currently $80, marked down from its original $108 price tag. That’s nearly 30% off a playful, sea-inspired setup that gives cats their own little underwater adventure without making a huge splash in your budget.

This tower adds coastal style to any room, with a gorgeous blue palette accented by foamy white details that mimic rolling waves. This sea-worthy playground comes fully stocked with one open bed, three cat condos (including a shark-shaped hideaway), two pedestals, two dangling toys, and four scratching posts, perfect for climbing, pouncing, and claiming prime lookout spots. A built-in ramp ensures that cats of all ages can sail smoothly to the top, while the sturdy split-base keeps the whole vessel steady, no matter how many little paws are on board.

Crafted from durable particleboard and wrapped in plush polyester, this cat tree can weather even the wildest kitty storms. Each perch supports up to 12 pounds, so up to six cats can share the fun or a single captain can enjoy ample space for solo lounging. Though it stands tall on its own, the included wall strap is a smart anchor for extra stability, especially for heavier sea-faring felines.

Measuring six feet high and weighing about 40 pounds, shoppers said it's easier to assemble this tower with two people. Cleaning it is a breeze, too. Just spritz with your favorite pet-safe cleaner, vacuum, and avoid a full-on soak to keep it looking ship-shape.

World Market's Antique-Style Marble Side Table Is Overflowing With Rustic Charm

Tue, 04/21/2026 - 7:55am

Often, homeowners focus heavily on large-scale investments like sofas or dining sets, sometimes overlooking the transformative power of smaller accent pieces. These compact additions act as the jewelry of a room, providing the perfect finishing touch that ties disparate design elements together. Incorporating high-quality materials—such as stone, metal, and natural textures—can instantly elevate a mundane corner into a sophisticated focal point, bringing a sense of luxury and permanence to your living environment without the need for a total home redesign.

Beyond aesthetics, functionality plays a critical role in modern interior design. In smaller homes or busy urban apartments, every square inch counts, making versatile furniture essential for maintaining an organized and breathable flow. A bistro-style table, for example, offers incredible adaptability. It can serve as a dedicated morning coffee station, a place to display curated art books, or simply a convenient spot for a drink during evening gatherings. By selecting pieces that combine structural durability with timeless elegance, you create a home that feels both lived-in and professionally designed, catering perfectly to both your practical needs and your stylistic aspirations.

World Market

If you are searching for the perfect piece to bridge the gap between classic luxury and modern utility, consider the Round White Marble and Black Metal Bistro Side Table. At $249.99, this piece is a standout World Market exclusive, designed to add a dose of high-end character to any space. The striking contrast between the cool, organic white marble top and the structured, antiqued powder-coated metal base creates a visually arresting look that fits seamlessly into both transitional and contemporary decor themes.

Quality is evident in the materials. Because it is crafted from genuine marble, each table features natural variations in veining, ensuring your piece is truly one-of-a-kind. However, owning such a beautiful natural material requires proper care. Marble is naturally porous, meaning it requires a bit of extra attention to keep it pristine. To maintain its lustrous finish, avoid harsh abrasives or standard household cleaners, as they can etch the surface. Instead, focus on gentle maintenance; most importantly, remember to wipe up dark liquids immediately to prevent staining, allowing the stone to age beautifully over time.

This exclusive piece is not just furniture; it is an investment in your home's character. Whether placed next to a plush velvet armchair or serving as an anchor in a sunlit reading nook, its presence elevates the room's overall aesthetic. For those who appreciate the intersection of artistry and utility, this table is a perfect match.

1998 Hit Film Ranked Among ‘Best Romantic Comedies of All Time’

Tue, 04/21/2026 - 7:53am

Nora Ephron’s 1998 movie, You’ve Got Mail, has been named one of the best romanticcomedies of all time. In a list compiled by Vanity Fair, the film ranked at No. 2 out of 42 films that defined the rom-com genre. The only movie that beat it was Ephron’s When Harry Met Sally.

Starring Tom Hanksand Meg Ryan, You’ve Got Mail was inspired by the 1940 movie The Shop Around the Corner. It follows rival bookstore owners Joe Fox (Hanks) and Kathleen Kelly (Ryan), who fall in love with each other while anonymously communicating via email—after first meeting in a then-new America Online (AOL) over-30 chat room.

Vanity Fair teased that the film featured several notable “firsts”: “Though a film about romance in the age of America Online was always going to be hopelessly dated, it was the first rom-com to normalize the thrill of flirting via chat box with an anonymous stranger," the outlet shared. "It was the first rom-com to cast Dave Chappelle as a best friend; the first to use a dial-up modem as the opening credits song; and the first to playfully skewer how easy it is to catfish a potential mate.“

Like its predecessors, When Harry Met Sally and Sleepless in Seattle, You’ve Got Mail was a box office hit, raking in over $250 million globally, per The Numbers.

Ephron knew the dial-up email piece wouldn't stand the test of time

While the anonymous love story storyline remains timeless, Ephron and her stars knew the premise of You’ve Got Mail—a small business bookstore rivaling a brick-and-mortar major chain, as well as the dial-up email communication— would someday become a nostalgic look back in time.

Ryan told Vanity Fair that Ephron was “an essayist about culture.”  “To her, there was something secretly smart about this idea of corporate takeovers and what's happening to small business,” the actress said. “If there were such a thing as the next You've Got Mail, we'd have to sort of say that Barnes and Noble and those sorts of chains are being swallowed up by Amazon, and now these small bookstores are coming back again to recompete.”

Hanks also noted that Ephron joked about rushing the film in the early days of email.

“When we did You've Got Mail, I said, ‘Hey, you know, Nora, this is kind of like a follow-up to Sleepless in Seattle, let's keep that in our pocket,”‘ Hanks told Access Hollywood in 2023. “And she says, ‘Yes, it is, but we'd better hurry up while email is still a going thing.’ So even she knew how fast everything turned."

"If you look at both of those movies, Sleepless in Seattle was at this time of this radio show call-in kind of phenomenon that was part of society, and that slipped by the wayside in a matter of only five years. And what's led into its place are anonymous emails," he continued.

“We always talk about this all the time, what would Nora be making about TikTok, about social media,” Hanks added of the director, who died in 2012. “If she were around, we'd do it again.”

Stanley Tucci Says He’s the “Biggest Diva” on 'The Devil Wears Prada 2'—and He’s Not Denying It

Tue, 04/21/2026 - 7:43am

Stanley Tucci is proud to own the title of "biggest diva" on the set of The Devil Wears Prada 2.

In response to co-star Anne Hathaway referring to him as an on-set diva, Tucci leaned into the title, adding that there's "no question" of his diva status. "I'm awful," Tucci told People. "Just terrible."

Tucci is a diva because "he's so fussy about his clothes," Hathaway said on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. While Tucci's character Nigel Kipling is indeed fussy about clothes, Nigel is far from a diva, especially after he reacted graciously to some devastating career news at the end of the film. When the news was announced at a large gathering in Paris, Nigel remained loyal to his boss, Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep), famously saying, "When the time is right, she'll pay me back." To which Hathaway's character Andrea Sachs replies, "You sure about that?"

Nearly every actor returned for the sequel, including Tucci's real-life sister-in-law, Emily Blunt, who reprised her high-strung character Emily Charlton. She recalled how Tucci would joke with her when he thought she was over-acting. "Stan would be like, 'You're shameless. Shameless,'" Blunt recalled to E!.

"Stan and I were so angry that they didn't give us more to do together," Blunt continued. "If we do another one, they better have us joined at the hip. I love him. They let us have a free rein to improv whatever we wanted, which was probably a terrible mistake, because we ruined endless tapes. A lot of the scenes were unusable because we were laughing so much. He's heaven."

The Devil Wears Prada ended with Nigel returning to Runway Magazine in the same capacity, and Andrea moved on in her career. The sequel revisits the characters, years later as Miranda "navigates her career amid the decline of traditional magazine publishing and as she faces off against Blunt's character, now a high-powered executive for a luxury group with advertising dollars that Priestly desperately needs."

The Devil Wears Prada 2 opens in theaters on May 1.

Donny Osmond Recalled Powerful Life Lesson Learned From Brother Alan Osmond in Vintage '70s Interview

Tue, 04/21/2026 - 7:38am

The late Alan Osmond had a lasting influence on his younger brother, Donny Osmond, shaping both his career and outlook on life.

In a vintage 1971 interview with Tiger Beat, Donny recalled a powerful life lesson from his older brother, Alan. As the group’s de facto leader, Alan was always there to listen and offer guidance whenever his brothers needed support.

Donny once recalled borrowing a cherished item from his brother only to lose it, leaving him afraid to admit what had happened. When he finally came clean, Alan’s unexpected reaction became a lasting life lesson his younger brother never forgot.

He explained, "Alan is the oldest, and he’s the most like my father, always concerned with my problems and always gentle in his advice to me. I’ve never been so sad that I couldn’t go to Alan, and he’s never failed to make me feel better."

"Probably the most vivid memory I have of this is from a few years ago. Alan had a fishing pole that he loved more than anything in the world. He had saved for months to get it, and he oiled and cleaned it all the time, so that it shone like a jewel! He would take it out in the backyard and practice casting for hours."

Donny continued, "My friend Billy and his father asked me to go fishing with them, and I didn’t have a pole. I could see that Alan was a little worried about it, but he offered me his anyway. We set off that morning and I felt like I would catch buckets of fish!"

"Out in the middle of the lake, I baited the hook and, with some pride, I cast out into the water–but I caught the sinker on the edge of the boat, and the pole flipped out of my hands, and end over end into the deep blue lake! It sank from site, and I got a terrible empty feeling in the pit of my stomach. I was going to have to tell Alan!"

Donny concluded, "I got home and told him I was ready to cry–and Alan was more concerned with stopping me than he was about the pole! He cared about the pole, sure, but nowhere near as much as he cared about trying to keep me from being sad! Alan talked to me and made me realize that no pole in the world mattered as much as any person being unhappy–and that’s just what Alan taught me! The thing is just a thing, but a person is something precious."

In 2025, Donny Osmond posted a loving birthday tribute to his older brother on social media. He shared that he and his brothers called Alan "the leader of the band."

Alan Osmond died on April 20 at the age of 76. In a statement issued to ABC4 Utah, it was confirmed that the entertainer died at 8:30 p.m. on April 20. He and his wife of 51 years, Suzanne Pinegar Osmond, had eight children; Michael, Nathan, Douglas, David, Scott, Jonathon, Alexander, and Tyler.

'Devastated' Mark Ballas Unexpectedly Leaves 'Chicago' Performance Mid-Show

Tue, 04/21/2026 - 7:35am

Dancing With the Stars pro Mark Ballas left the Monday, April 20, performance of Chicago early due to illness.

One day prior, Ballas sat out of the show because he wasn't feeling well.

"Sorry I will not be able to perform again tonight. This illness has hit me and my whole household very hard. I have been doing everything I can to get back," Ballas wrote on his Instagram Stories on April 19. "Please have grace with some of your aggressive DMs. It's not like I'm doing this on purpose or can prevent what is happening. I even have family that has flown in from England that won't be able to see me perform now. This is a massive disappointment for me & again I can't apologize enough. Thank you for understanding."

The next day, Ballas said that he was going to push through and get back on stage. However, later in the evening, he revealed that he was unable to get through the first act.

"I tried my best but l am still recovering and probably should have waited as I am not fully healed & my voice totally went out on me halfway through the first song," Ballas wrote on his Instagram Stories. "l apologize profusely to all that came out to see me & this wonderful cast. l am devastated," he added.

Following the last Dancing With the Stars season, Ballas partner Whitney Leavitt was offered a role in the hit Broadway musical—and she accepted. From there, it didn't take long for rumors about Ballas joining the cast to start. In early March, People magazine confirmed that Ballas would be reuniting with Leavitt on stage.

So far, it’s been a successful run. On April 15, Ballas shared that Chicago had its highest-grossing week in 30 years.

It’s been a busy stretch for the pro dancer, who also recently appeared on The Traitors. Fans are now hoping he takes the time he needs to recover before returning to the stage.

Born on the 1st, 10th, 19th, or 28th: Command the Spotlight

You were born on a date associated with the sun, the luminary that oversees purpose, self-image, and confidence in astrology, which makes you self-assured, poised, focused, driven, and charismatic. You’ll do best to pursue a calling that goes hand-in-hand with stepping into the spotlight and taking center stage, whether that’s a career that literally launches you into the public eye, like being an actor or musician, or a path that involves serving in a leadership position. You’re basically the opposite of a worker bee who’s content to tend to the details in the shadows. You need to be in a role that lets you run the show and earn recognition for all your hard work.

Born on the 2nd, 11th, 20th, or 29th: Nurture Others (and Yourself)

Your birth date is associated with the moon, the luminary that, in astrology, oversees emotions, intuition, and instincts. You’re innately emotionally astute, nurturing, capable of tuning into and following your inner voice, spiritual, and giving. That said, your true calling will capitalize on these strengths, allowing you to pour your warm, caring heart into your work. You could make your mark and feel incredibly gratified by pursuing a path as a professional child or senior caregiver, an RN, a psychotherapist, a social worker, or a stay-at-home parent. (Pro-tip: Just don't forget to carve out time for plenty of time to fill your own cup via necessary self-care, too.)

NEXT: The 4 Most Personable Birth Months

Born on the 3rd, 12th, 21st, or 30th: Find Adventure and Wisdom in Everyday Life

As someone whose birth date reduces down to three, your perspective and personality are informed by Jupiter, the awe-inspiringly largest planet in our solar system that rules fortune, philosophy, spiritual growth, abundance, and expansion. In turn, you’re driven to make your mark in a big way, and engaging in activities that serve to broaden your horizons needs to be a part of your professional path. Whether you’re working as a pilot, a photographer, or a marketing exec (a la Emily in Paris), you’ll thrive when you have the opportunity to travel to different countries, learn languages that are different from your own, or serve as a mentor for young people, perhaps even working as a professional educator or spiritual leader.

Born on the 4th, 13th, 22nd, or 31st: Innovate and Strive for Humanitarian Progress

Your birth date reduces down to four, which is associated with Uranus, the planet of rebellion, sudden change, electricity, scientific genius, and innovation. Though you may not need to don a lab coat in your ideal career path, you would benefit from a professional existence that involves plenty of experimentation, forward thinking, and the ability to shake up the status quo. You’re also deeply community-oriented and want to devote your time and energy to work that will make the world better overall. You might be happiest pouring your heart and soul into working as a community organizer or with an NGO or heading up a humanitarian-focused tech start-up.

FUN!: Which '90s Anthem Matches You, Based on Your Birth Month

Born on the 5th, 14th, or 23rd: Leverage Language and Technology

You were born on a day that boils down to the number five, so your numerological planetary ruler is Mercury, the planet of storytelling, gathering information, transportation, technology, and cerebral energy. In turn, you’re a master of quick thinking, multitasking, learning, brainstorming, speaking, writing, and using tech to craft and share compelling narratives. You’ll be most content in a career path that allows you to put these strengths to work, such as journalism, PR, communication education, or creative writing.

Born on the 6th, 15th, or 24th: Deliver Beauty and Peace

If your birth date happens to be one of these numbers, you’re guided by the numerology of the number six, which is aligned with Venus, the planet of relationships, romance, pleasure, music, beauty, and peace. You’re someone for whom creativity comes naturally, as does being able to smooth over the rough edges of life by bringing more harmony, balance, and aesthetic value to just about everything you do. That said, you’ll do best when you’re able to foster relationships and apply your eye for all things gorgeous and pleasurable to your work. You’re a natural-born diplomat, stylist, marriage and family therapist, lawyer, or gallerist.

Born on the 7th, 16th, or 25th: Tap Into Spirituality and Dreams

Your birth date reduces down to seven, a number aligned with Neptune, the planet of mysticism, spirituality, and illusion, so you’re a natural-born poet, psychic, or artist. In short, dreaminess, escapism, healing, and emotional exploration need to be part of your professional journey for you to feel on track. Consider pouring your time and energy into a path like working as a professional astrologer, screenwriter, musician, or holistic healer.

Born on the 8th, 17th, or 26th: Lead With Pragmatism

Because you were born on a date that reduces down to the number eight, you’re mature, industrious, and practical, because eight is associated with Saturn, the taskmaster planet that oversees boundaries, restrictions, limitations, and commitment. Because you’re so grounded and rational, you shine when you’re working toward goals that are as concrete as they are ambitious. You’d do well in the corporate world, working as a C-suite exec or manager of a team, perhaps in insurance or finance. You might also enjoy serving as an educator in a subject like history or math.

Born on the 9th, 18th, or 27th: Blaze Trails and Take Risks

If your birth date reduces down to nine, you’re impulsive, action-oriented, driven, competitive, and passionate, because you were born on a day associated with Mars, the planet of energy, sex, competition, and drive. You need to feel that Mars-red, fiery vibe in your work, so think about a path that involves getting physical, like becoming a pro athlete or personal trainer. You may also enjoy the thrill of trading stocks, the gratification of being a sex therapist or intimacy coach, or the excitement of being an entrepreneur in an industry that’s highly competitive, like fashion or technology. If you’re looking to bolster your self-awareness, it’s possible you’ve explored natal astrology, numerology, maybe even your Myers-Briggs Type. And whether you’ve dipped your toe into these areas of study or you work with them professionally, you’ve likely noticed that you could spend an entire lifetime — and then some — learning. But sometimes it’s possible to zero in on key details that offer major insights. Your birth date is one of those details.

Your birth date is informed by both numerological and astrological wisdom, offering valuable intel on your personality, perspective, and energy. That said, whether you’ve been looking for reassurance that you’re pursuing your best possible career path or looking for a better-suited professional journey, see if your birth date can guide you toward your true calling.

1987 Rock Classic No. 1 Song Became a Timeless Anthem

Tue, 04/21/2026 - 7:32am

By the late 1980s, power ballads were everywhere, but few hit quite like the now classic song "Alone" by Heart. Released in 1987, the towering anthem didn’t just top the charts, it cemented itself as one of the era’s most enduring emotional rock songs, powered by a vocal performance that still resonates decades later.

“Alone” arrived at a pivotal moment for Heart. The band, led by sisters Ann Wilson and Nancy Wilson, had already enjoyed major success in the 1970s. But by the mid-1980s, they were reinventing themselves for a new generation, with “Alone” a key part of this shift.

Released as the lead single from their ninth studio album, Bad Animals, which came out on May 15, 1987, the track quickly made its mark. It climbed all the way to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in July, while also topping charts in Canada and reaching No. 3 in the U.K. The song’s global success underscored its broad appeal, with "Alone" landing in the top 10 in multiple countries and becoming one of the biggest hits of 1987.

But what makes the story of “Alone” extra interesting is the fact that Heart didn’t originally write it. The song was penned by hitmakers Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly, who first recorded it with their short-lived project i-Ten in 1983. This version flew largely under the radar, but the songwriting duo clearly made something special, with Heart taking the song and transforming it into something massive.

Even among a music catalog filled with hits, “Alone” stands out as one of Heart’s most recognizable songs. It earned the band a Grammy nomination and became one of the defining power ballads of its time. By the end of 1987, it ranked among the year’s biggest singles in the U.S., and decades later, it's still remembered as a true classic.

In the 2020s, Ann is still belting out "Alone" and wowing audiences with her powerful vocals, while many other landmark singers have tried their hand at singing the beloved song.

This Star Wars Toy Just Sold for $1.34 Million

Tue, 04/21/2026 - 7:11am

A prototype Boba Fett action figure that was never sold to the public, one of the rarest toys on the planet, sold at Goldin Auctions for $1,342,000, setting the record for the highest price ever paid for any toy, action figure, and non-prop Star Wars item.

The figure is described as a 'Kenner 1979 J-Slot (Version 2) Rocket-Firing (Mailer) Prototype Boba Fett', one of only 30 ever produced, the highest-graded example of the three believed to still exist, and the first of its kind ever sold at public auction.

To understand why a 3.75-inch plastic toy crossed a million dollars, you need to know the story behind it.

Kenner launched a mail-in promotion in August 1978, rewarding fans who purchased four Star Wars figures with a new Boba Fett action figure, highlighted by a backpack rocket launcher. The timing made it even more enticing. The figure was first promoted in a 1978 Kenner catalog, months before Boba Fett's animated debut in the Star Wars Holiday Special, long before his live-action appearance in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.

Then a tragedy happened.

A January 1979 press release from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the complete recall of Mattel's Battlestar Galactica toys, which featured a rocket-firing mechanism similar to Boba Fett's. The recall came in response to reports of the toys becoming choking hazards for small children, including at least one confirmed death.

Over at Kenner, development of the Boba Fett was immediately shut down. All prototypes were supposedly destroyed. Former Kenner engineer Jacob Miles III summed it up plainly: 'When Battlestar Galactica had their issues, we immediately just shut it down and destroyed everything.'

Children who qualified for the mail-in promotion eventually received revised Boba Fett figures, complete with a 'Note to Consumers' explaining the original spring-launched rocket had been removed for safety reasons.

Though the prototypes were scrapped from retail and meant to be completely destroyed, a precious few survived, smuggled out by ex-Kenner employees.

Of the surviving prototypes, roughly 70 had the initial L-slot version of the firing mechanism, while around 30 had a J-slot, a later iteration designed to make the mechanism more difficult to misfire, created as Kenner started having safety concerns. The Goldin figure is the rarest version of all: a painted mailer variant that was placed in a mailing box and kept by a Kenner engineer, later opened by his son. The lot included the original mailer box along with two business cards from the Kenner employee. No mailer J-slots had ever been sold previously, with only two others known to exist.

Related: Every Upcoming 'Star Wars' Game, Ranked by How Likely It Is to Actually Release

Goldin compared the figure's collectible stature to the T-206 Honus Wagnerbaseball card and the 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle, the pinnacle of its hobby.

The sale demolished the previous record. Prior to 2024, a rocket-firing Boba Fett had never sold for more than $236,000, and the record for any toy was held by a Barbie designed by Stefano Canturi, which sold for $302,500 in 2010. An L-slot variant shattered that toy record in May 2024 at Heritage Auctions for $525,000. The Goldin J-slot then more than doubled that number three months later.

Guinness World Records has officially recognized the sale as the most expensive Star Wars action figure sold at auction. A toy meant to be a free promotional giveaway, and destroyed before it ever reached a child's hands, now holds the highest price ever paid for a mass-market action figure prototype in history.

Whether you’re heading over to board the new Legend of the Seasor exploring the Costa Brava, you can now skip the layovers in JFK or London and fly direct.

To celebrate the launch, JetBlue is dropping introductory one-way fares starting at $349 for Core (coach) and $1,799 for their famous Mint suites. This marks JetBlue’s seventh European city and its first-ever entry into Spain’s vibrant Catalonia region.
